Oh hey hey! Lol I sent in a few for the fanfic writer ask to you too but forgot to mention that in my ask oops. Anyways, gonna answer those!

🦋 Which character is your favorite to write?

Nanu from the Pokemon franchise is fun because he has a complet backstory but also his indifferent behavior and dialogue is funny at times. Dimitri from Fire Emblem Three Houses is also fun because he's pretty flexible on where you can take his characterization.

💛 What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?

So, you know how folks worry about their idea been done before? Well I'm the opposite where I worry my premises won't get much traction because they usually don't fit the usual popular fanfic/writing tropes. I then learn to not think too much to make my stories "mainstream" and write what I'm passionate about.

📗 Do you want to write something outside of fanfiction? If so, what about?

There's one original story idea that's been in my head for a while. Basic premise is a modern Faust inspired story where millinienal burn out Emma makes a deal with the devil and shenigians happens. Someday it'll make it pass the outline stage loool.

🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

Oh, I can think of plenty lol. I already have some lovely fanart for Thunder Without Rain from my art partner for the Dimileth Big Bang, but I still would love art of Chapter Ten where Dimitri was talking to his and Byleth's unborn baby. I also would love art for my Dimileth Trick or Treat The Azure Queen after seeing some nice fic and art collabs going on. Especially some concept art of the Byleth twins and demon Dimitri!

(If any of my Dimileth art mutuals are reading this, ummmm anyone want to take that offer for The Azure Queen? = P  Kidding, don’t worry no obligations haha)

Character Study Title Tag Game

You know what, I think I’m going to start an tag chain of my own. Make up a title for a hypothetical character study or two for anywhere between each of 2 to 5 of your favorite characters in any fandom and list them off. Optionally, explain why each title relates to the character. Tag however many or few people you’d like. I’ll start:

Dabi: REVENANT (literally one who has come back from the dead, often an animated corpse. i feel like this one’s obvious); lost in an ash-choked land (for a theoretical future or canon-divergence where Dabi somehow loses his purpose of killing Endeavor by either actually succeeding or just reevaluating his priorities)

Lady Nagant: Mercenary (during her time with the HPSC); big sister (a rather direct reference to what i think her relationship with chisaki would be like if we actually got to see them interact for more than 2 panels, and/or if they could stick together past Deku)

Ozai: Phoenix (both for the Phoenix King thing and the idea of a death and rebirth, which would work well for his prison time after the show)

Ursa: Belladonna (a poisonous plant, the name is Italian for ‘beautiful woman,’ ladies in Italy during the 1600s?? i do not remember the time--used to put belladonna eyedrops in their eyes to make their pupils go big so they had a ‘dreamy’ look. this made them go blind with repeated use)

Viren: Cassandra (a reference to the Greek prophetess cursed to have no one believe her, which feels like what his relationship to Harrow and the rest of the Katolis court would be like--a fixer and a Cassandra prophet); trapped in the spiderweb (an exploration of his relationship with Aaravos, and Aaravos’ manipulations)

Since Maul likes quick and healthy food, how about a kale and spinach smoothie? Kale being one of the most nutrient-dense foods and great for heart/bone health. It also has cinnamon, dates and bananas, so it's just as tasty as it is healthy. And it's great for when you're on-the-go, provided your spaceship has cupholders. (Savage and Feral can have one too of course)

🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

Before 2022, I would've said Foul Play because of how long I've been working on that WIP and the various changes on the first few changes and outline stage it has gone through. Now I think my Dimileth Big Bang because oh my gosh I wrote 68K in 7 months and some topics I've never dived into until now.

⌛ How long does it take you to write a fic, or a chapter?

Hm, it depends if I have time to sit down and write and/or motivation. Shorter pieces it can be in a few days to a couple weeks. Chapters are a same deal, though my last chapter of Foul Play was several months on and off because the action scenes was tricky and I was distracted with writing other stuff.

🎉 What leads you to consider a fic a success?

You know this is something I've been thinking about after I finished posting my Dimileth Big Bang fic a few days ago. At some points I was a bit disappointed some chapters didn't get the engagement as I would've liked and comparing how other Dimileth Big Bang Fics get more consistent engagement than mine. Last night I reread the couple comments I got on the final chapter and it was very nice that some people really enjoyed the story, so I'll consider that a success if I made at least one person's day.

I think I'm good at writing people happy and being supportive of each other whether it be friendship or romantic. I love writing those types of interactions because as one friend put it very catheratic for me. I rarely write angst for long lol.

10 Signs That You’re in a Homestead Novel

The lovely and talented @etjwrites recently tagged me to share ten staples of my writing! Thank you for including me in this game, my friend, and I hope these answers satisfy many a curious mind:

1. The end is nigh. Whatever the circumstances, the world my characters finds themselves in is on the brink of annihilation. The consistent corruption of humans over time has finally reached its inevitable climax and now all those living must decide how to salvage what is left, stop the apocalypse, and/or reinvent the universe entirely.

2. God is the new Gone Girl. What happened to the god(s)? No one knows, and neither do you. Whether they be sealed away, dead, lost to time, absent, or otherwise seemingly inactive, the influence of divine followers is felt - and a return of the god oft expected - but their presence lacking.

3. Under the sea is the place to be. Well, okay, maybe not sea - but you better expect to find a whole world beneath the surface! Whether it be an underground city, a cave system of ancient artifacts, the resting place of imprisoned spirits, etc. The dichotomy between the surface and underground always plays a pivotal in my stores. 

4. You get an alignment change, you get an alignment change, everyone gets an alignment chaaaange! Like Oprah, I like to give away free opportunities for my cast to change their minds more often than not. Most protagonists begin on the Neutral spectrum - wanting what they want, regardless of morality - and experience a significant shift towards either end of the spectrum. 

5. (Pokemon Trainer voice) Look, ma - a shiny! While I couldn’t tell you why, crystals smuggle themselves into every one of my stories. Often, they are the conduits of some spiritual and/or magical force. They may have different names in each universe, but don’t be fooled - it’s just rebranded.

6. Like the Greatest Showman, take me to the other side. If you don’t interact with and/or travel directly into a different plane of existence, it ain’t a Homestead story.

7. I’d like to order a novel, but can you substitute the plot for prose? Let’s face it: I’m a wordsmith first, a worldbuilder second, and a storyteller somewhere towards the end of the list. I hear words like I hear music, and thus, must string them together into a pleasant composition. If it’s too fancy for you? Consider it a literary dessert - good in small doses, too heavy for binging.

8. Secrets, secrets are so fun. Everyone has a secret. Some have many, too many - and are willing to do anything to keep them hidden. But rest assured, there will at least be one spymaster or information broker ready to turn your secrets into currency.

9. Mercy me, keep the faith! Mercy and faith are two themes I prioritize tackling in my stories, and from every angle imaginable. Even as a Christian, I do not shy away from asking difficult questions about grace, spirituality, tragedy, etc. and oft include characters who are willing to wrestle with their religion and/or morality.

10. Hope is always worth fighting for - even if it kills you. Not every character’s story ends in victory. Many die. Others fail. Some surrender. But there will always be an underlying sense that the battle is worth the sacrifice, even if it does not achieve triumph, solely because hope still lives.
