Snowed In
Paring: Charlie Dalton x FemReader
Warnings: fluff, cold weather, physical touch
Summary: Not many students stayed at Welton over the holidays leaving just you and Charlie out of your friend group to celebrate the holidays and find comfort and warmth in each other as Welton slowly gets snowed in.

The halls of Welton were normally cold. You figured it was because the school was built for conformity and not comfort. Yet as the holidays rolled around, the kids with families who cared went home, the weather painted the earth white, and the hallways of the school were colder than normal. Since Nolan didn’t allow decorations because only a handful of kids stayed and it was a school not a home, you found yourself not very much in the Christmas spirit. So your Christmas Eve was about to be spent with Charlie Dalton and the weather slowly snowing you in. Despite Charlie’s smug and flirty nature he was the best company you got.
“Sorry I’m late” you dropped the hood of your Welton coat as the door clambered behind you. You could instantly feel the warmth of the fireplace in the library where you and Charlie had taken claim over the holiday break.
“It’s all good” you looked up to see the boy shivering by the fireplace but you were instantly distracted by the small tree propped against the fireplace.
“You got us a tree?” your heart warmed at the kind action from the boy.
“Yeah, it’s not much since we don’t have ornaments or an angel” you began to shake your head as you moved your eyes from the tree back to him. That was when you realized what getting the tree had meant.
“Wait, you went out into the snowstorm?” now your attention was fully on the boy who continued to shiver by the fireplace. Finally you noticed the curve of his lips were slightly blue and he shook like a leaf.
“I’m fine” quickly you moved over to him where he tried to warm himself by the fire.
“Your hands are as cold as ice” in a swift movement you pulled him to the couch and draped the blanket you had left from nights previous over the both of you.
“I’m fine” you shook your head as you closed his hands between yours. Slowly you leaned your head down and blew warm air in between your hands and onto his. He shivered as your lips brushed across his hands and you figured it was from the cold.
“Is this better?” you spoke across his hands, your lips brushing each word and warming the rest of him.
“Not quite” you lifted your head to give him a confused look but he slipped his hands out of yours and underneath your coat as he wrapped himself around you. You gasped as his cold limbs infiltrated your jacket and suddenly you found yourself pressed chest to chest with Charlie Dalton on the couch.
“So is this better?” you whispered now due to the close proximity. He snuggled in closer, his head resting right under your chin on your shoulder. He let out a small hmm which you took as a yes. “I’m glad”
“Me too” he spoke and without even realizing your warm hands opposed to his cold ones found themselves running through his hair.
“Thank you for the tree, it was beginning to not feel like Christmas” Most of the time you couldn’t stand Charlie since his goal was usually to annoy you but every once in a while he had his moments. This so far was your favorite one.
“It was nothing” he told you. Despite how he treated you most of the time you had now become the best person he knew on this earth since his best friend Neil.
“You getting warm yet?” you asked, your hands slipping from his hair and down to rub his back.
“Almost” you gasped as Charlie slipped his cold hands under your Welton sweater vest and onto your bare back. You gasped from the cold but your body warmed over instantly from the skin to skin contact.
“You’re lucky I like you right now or I’d get you back for that” you told him to which he chuckled as your body started to warm his hands up.
“No you wouldn’t” he muttered into your shoulder which caused you to roll your eyes considering he was right. He annoyed you but you could never get back at him and you both knew that.
“Wait a minute, how did you get a saw to cut down the tree?” you asked and Charlie gripped your back, pulling you half into his lap to hold you closer. You gasped slightly at this action.
“I have my ways” you chuckled and shook your head as you realized you were about to be in this position for a while. Slowly you got yourself comfortable as rested your head on top of his.
“I’m glad I get to spend Christmas with you” his heart fluttered at the sentiment of your words. If any of the boys had been here neither of you would’ve dared to say something so loaded to each other in front of them. But here on Christmas Eve, in each others arms, it was the only place they wanted to be then with their parents during the Holidays.
“Me too, I’d much rather spend the holidays with you than my parents” Charlie snuggled his face into your neck, absorbing your warmth, and breathing in your scent.
“I agree, even though I do miss Knox” Charlie snapped his head up to look at you, shock written over all of his features.
“Don’t tell me you love Knox more than me?” the teasing shrug caused his jaw to drop and in an instant he began tickling at your sides. You gasped and giggled, unable to handle it.
“Okay, okay, stop! I love you more” Charlie felt your words reverberate through him. He hadn’t realized how much of an affect they could have and he stopped his tickle attack.
“I got you something” confusion settled in your eyebrows as he said this, his hair hanging in his forehead from the movement.
“Did the Charlie Dalton get me a Christmas gift?” you whispered and he blushed slightly before going over to his perfect little tree. He was still cold but you had warmed him up greatly. Slowly he reached behind the tree for a small gift.
“It’s not much, I had to make due with what I had because of the storm. I’m also too impatient to wait until Christmas” he slipped the small gift into your hands and took a seat back under the blanket beside you. When he saw you hesitate he rested his chin on your shoulder, looking to where the gift sat in your lap. “Go on open it”
“Okay” slowly you pulled the top off the box to find a little handheld notebook. The kind your Mom would keep in her purse for grocery lists.
“It’s a collection of poems. Some I found and some I wrote myself. I also left a few drawings in there. I promise I kept it appropriate. Nothing like the ones you’ve caught me drawing in Keating’s class” you chuckled through the tears in your eyes as you turned to face him.
“I love it so much Charlie, thank you” swiftly you leaned in to kiss his cheek but Charlie had turned his head and your lips landed on his. His eyes widened as you pulled back.
“I promise I didn’t do it on purpose. I didn’t know you were going for a kiss” his fearful expression caused you to giggle and you could tell he wanted you to believe him. Yet your silence freaked him out even more. “Y/N I promise, if I was going to kiss you I wouldn’t of tricked you into it”
“Shut up Charlie” and much to his surprise your hands grabbed his cheeks and pulled him in for a much deeper and meaningful kiss. His eyes fluttered shut and your soft lips brushed against his. He had never felt so warm kissing a girl before and his lips were definitely no longer blue. Your warm tongue peeked it’s way into his mouth and he officially was no longer cold anymore. He also got exactly what he wanted for Christmas.
