I want Martha who would fight men who thought they held power, going absolutely feral from stress the same way Danny does when he’s tired of not being able to do his homework or pick up a vacuum against the wall to clean because ghosts.

I want Martha who loved the pearl necklace that Bruce had picked out for her birthday, and Danny reaches towards his neck and startles when his fingers only touch skin when he is certain there was something supposed to be there. I want Danny whose eyes linger on whites and pearls when he passes by open window stores in the mall, fingers itching to flick a nail against the smooth surfaces.

I want Martha who died bleeding underneath the hand of a gun, hoping to everything above that her boy would be safe, and Danny whose body burns at merely looking at the makeshift guns his parents create in the lab, his heart pounding desperately with a yearning to save there was someone she wanted to save the ghosts.

The thing about 'The Nazis only hated those other groups because they associated them with Jews, therefore their genocide is less important' is like, OK why did the Nazis associate communism, gender deviance, etc, with Jews? Could it be their Antisemitism, their racism against Romani people, their praise of settler colonial projects, their fanatical opposition to communism, their belief in rigid gender roles, their support for eugenics, all stem from some underlying causes, that they all uphold a system that some stand to gain from, and they assigned Jews as the ones behind it all? No, that would run the risk of contextualizing Antisemitism, tying it to other forms of oppression, implying we have reason to be in solidarity with other groups, and worst of all, implying that changing social conditions may eventually end (or even lessen!) Antisemitism. And that would undermine the ethnic separatism I was raised to believe. Better to take the Nazis at their word that they saw all those other things as Jewish creations and attribute their Antisemitism as stemming from some transhistorical madness, that way we can treat Antisemitism as coming from everywhere and nowhere, an eternal, unsolvable problem. That way we can feel confident that our ethnonationalism is correct, that the genocide I support is justified self defense.

this is the silliest post i've made in a while but. imagine a series of unfortunate events type au where louis and claudia move from city to city, and armand and his theater troupe follow them around like count olaf and his troupe. armand keeps doing different disguises and romancing louis under all of them and claudia has to keep uncovering him before louis marries him.

Seems like Yoshiki’s eyes are starting to lose shape whenever he’s stressed out, starting with his left pupil getting more jagged when he’s putting back ‘Hikaru’s head in ch22, and then in ch24, his left iris moves to the side.
