My Dad is from Mars
Okay so when j’onn met danny he was John jones. He was doing some grocery shopping when a young teen with a limp bumped into him, stealing his wallet.
John grabbed the teens arm to stop him and retrieve his wallet when his hand went through through the boys arm. John saw the scared look on the child as he took off, John pursued the child running through walls and watched in concern as the child appeared to be a Martian like himself. He stopped an alley where he witnessed the teen fall to the ground and simply vanish.
John then said how he was impressed at his camouflage skill considering how young he is and that he has no intention of hurting him he just wants to help him get home to which the child was NOT HAPPY screaming how he can’t go back there he won’t. The child is barely able to stand when his camouflage drops, j’onn sees the green and red blood coating his shirt where his jacket opens.
He looks to make sure no one is looking before shifting back into his Martian form and kneeling in front of the child. In the Martian language he tells the boy that he is only here to help if he will let him
He replies in perfect Martian you’re not a hunter, j’onn freezes at the knowledge that a Martian child is being hunted and is filled with icy rage. He calmly replies that no he’s not he’s a friend. The child reaches for him before fully passing out. J’onn takes him back to his apartment where he tends to his wounds. He is further infuriated when he sees the y shaped incision on his chest. He vows that this child is under his protection.
However not everything is as it seemed. When Danny woke up he was in a bed and his wounds had been dressed. It hurt to move but much less so than before. When he heard movement he panicked until he turned and saw the coolest superhero to ever live
MARTIAN MANHUNTER who just so happens to be anACTUAL martian from MARS. Danny just stare at him in awe. He can barely speak and the hero brings him some water and begins to softly ask how he came to be so far from mars and at such a young age and Danny just stares at him for a second before he just says I’m from earth, I’m human- kinda
J’onn is clearly confused. And asks if he’s a meta when Danny says no, he asks if he would be willing to explain Danny made him swear not to tell anyone, because how could he say no to Martian manhunter. He explains that he’s half ghost and how his parents were ghost hunters and when they found out he was a ghost they turned on him. They took him to the GIW where they… and at this point he cuts himself off with a terrified look on his face. J’onn places a hand on his shoulder and tells him he is safe here for however long he wishes to stay. Danny doesn’t believe him at first until he explains that when he came to earth he was also hunted for being different.
Danny is incredibly grateful and accepts the offer with the intention of leaving as soon as he is healed . A month goes by and Danny is healed he is hesitant to leave. One month turns to two and two to three and before they knew it they were moving into a bigger apartment so Danny could have his own room when J’onn asked Danny if he would like to be his son Danny nearly cried as he said yes (Bruce took care of the paperwork, he knows it like the back of his hand) not long after though Danny got sick and it wasn’t until j’onn was visited by a ghost with a clock in his chest that they realized it was because his core was sick and so they both travel to the ghost zone where J’onn learns more about ghosts as well as learning that he is apparently a grandfather, that was fun. Danny also found out he was going to be king that was less fun
They set up a schedule of days Danny would spend in the zone with clockwork learning about ghost politics and when he was on earth he would be homeschooled by J’onn, Danny’s favorite part is when J’onn would talk about mars and traveling amoung the stars.
It’s just before his 15th birthday that J’onn announces that they were going to visit mars Danny almost exploded he was so excited the whole flight there and when he arrived he met his half white martian cousins M’gann and him got along like a house on fire. He was sad when they had to leave and there were many promises to visit. Unbeknownst to them they had a stowaway on the ship. Both Danny and J’onn scolded m’gonn fpr running away from home but he was still happy to have his cousin on earth. She trained with her uncle to be a hero she often questioned Danny about why he didn’t want to train as well, because after 1 unwanted advance from a human when he was near and it was clear he could fight. He would always make a joke out of it and dodge the question. Eventually she stopped asking.
One thing that was made abundantly clear after moving in was the fact that her cousin is terrifying. Absolutely bone chilling and not always on purpose sometimes he was just so …. Still, quiet, unnerving. She started getting used to it and her uncle is immune at this point but she will never fully be immune. And there was one indisputable rule she was not allowed to use telepathy on Danny no matter what.
When M’gann joins her team she texts Danny about them all the time, he is well aware of her crush on Conner and he feels secure in the knowledge he could crush him if he hurt her. she doesn’t really talk about Danny much because he’s pretty private.
The first time the team meets Danny it is a call to arms sent by M’gann. On the night of the Halloween party. M’gann decided to call in back up to help them get back at the kid who was trying to prank everyone as well as give everyone a good scare. Danny arrives though no one actually saw him arrive but he most definitely made an impact. Years later the school would be call it the best scare of the century.
When they head back to the base they find Danny already there he runs picks M’gann up and spins around and gives her a hug and just as she is about to introduce him the zeta tube activates announcing Martian Manhunter, he asks if anyone would like to explain why there was an emergency call from a student from their school reporting that the dead have risen and are coming to take their bloody revenge? Danny, who had hidden behind Conner peaked out and says yeah sorry about that, that was me. J’onn gives him a look and Danny shoots back c’mon dad it was all in good fun, no one was hurt, and the kid was only SLIGHTLY traumatized. J’onn is not amused. M’gann is trying to hide her laugh Conner is relieved that he’s not a rival and Wally, well Wally was in shock because when did the Martian manhunter get a son?!?
Okay I feel like this is a good stopping point for now cus I need sleep, I’m gonna add more later,
Flash is next and then it’s a vote between Wonder Woman or superman
I’m not sure if I’m gonna do green lantern or the hawks cus I don’t know that much about them

Slipped Their Minds
After a few years working alongside the Justice League, Batman decides that it will be safe to let his kids tie themselves back to him. The only thing is, that since Nightwing is already part of the League, they forget to mention that he is also part of the Bat associates. They only remember when they are surrounded by other members, who loose their shit at the fact that Batman is Nigthwing’s dad.

When the Justice League forms, most heroes have been around for a few years already. Superman has been flying over the skies of Metropolis for four years, the Flash has been zooming around Central for three and the Green Lantern got his assignment a year and a half ago. While Wonder Woman, J’onn J’onzz and Cyborg are more recent additions.
The only exception to this rule is Batman, who has already been doing this for around fifteen years already, though no one knows for sure when he started. And he has never been very forthcoming with the information either.
Now it’s two years later and the Justice League is looking to expand. The hero community has grown since their start and they want to pad their numbers and increase their reach, so that they can make more of a difference.
One of the new members they recruit, is Nightwing.
Nightwing does not seem like the most interesting new recruit, since he is a human surrounded by people that can absorb nukes or kings of the seas. However, Nightwing piqued their interest, because rumors of him go way back.
Upon meeting the man, they realize this kid has been in the business for a long time, first popping onto the scene about eight years ago. Bar Batman, he’s been doing this the longest.
“Man, how come I never heard of you until recently?” Flash exclaims. He and Nightwing have hit it off right away. “You’ve been doing this for so long, rumors must have started to seep out at some point.”
“Nah, I wasn’t really considered a hero until like a year or so ago,” Nightwing shrugs easily, leaning back in the other monitor chair. “For the first two years, I was a rumor made up by criminals, then I was a good for nothing, punk vigilante that was on the wanted list for the next three years. By then you guys got onto the scene and heroes truly became a topic in a positive way, so they became a little more open to my meddling. Though they still don’t trust me entirely. Now we’re here.”
“Wait, they still don’t trust you?” Flash asks.
“No, course not, it’s Blüd,” Nightwing laughs as if that’s funny. “You can’t trust anyone there. It’s a shithole of a shithole. I’m not a hero, Flash, I’m a vigilante. Huge difference.”
“Ugh, you sound like Batman,” Flash complains. “Wait, aren’t Blüdhaven and Gotham like super close to each other?”
“Yeah, why do you think it’s such a shithole?” Nightwing jokes, though everyone has already learned the hard way that he’s the only one, who can joke about his city like that. They’re pretty sure Aquaman still feels the bruise. For a human, he sure can pack a punch.
“Did you two work together? Before the League? Or, like, even before heroes?” Flash asks, rapid speed as his excitement grows.
“Our cases overlapped sometimes,” Dick says, deciding it’s not technically a lie, because Nightwing didn’t want Batman nosing around in his city until recently and Robin doesn’t really count. “We knew of each other, shared information sometimes.”
“Wow, I can’t imagine what baby Batman must have been like,” Flash says, a little awed.
“Probably a lot stupider than we think,” Dick snorts, still remembering when Bruce took him in only two years after he himself had started running around in kevlar.
Right now, he’s kind of sad that he made Bruce promise to let him be in the League on his own, because otherwise he could share some embarrassing stories with Flash – or Wally, the man’s secret identity wasn’t too hard to figure out – but he can’t do that without revealing Robin and that can’t happen.
Robin is still an unconfirmed rumor. There are a lot of reports about him, but the switches in Robins that have been going on made them all so widely different that no one trusts them. And no pictures have been leaked. Babs is very good at what she does.
Out of the Gotham’s vigilante population, Robin is the only known one in the streets and under the rogues in Arkham. All the other birds and bats – save Signal, the stubborn day shift – are pretty unknown and Batman likes to keep it that way.
He and Cass, Jason too technically, are the only ones, who are proper adults now and the world has changed drastically from when they were kids.
Dick might frown on B’s paranoia most of the time, but it’s no longer just the creeps in Arkham they have to worry about. It’s the anti-hero mentality that is popping up alongside the support, the people with grudges on a larger scale that are trying to find weak spots to get back at heroes that stopped them or couldn’t save them, magic that could control their allies and turn them against them, along with all the ones they love.
The world isn’t safe and anonymity makes his baby siblings a little better protected.
Of course, he’s not going to sit there and say the world was safe when he ran around in short shorts and bright colors. The fact that he was out there in the first place spoke to that. However, it seems like the world was at least smaller then, the harms more manageable. Vigilantes less known, with smaller targets on their backs.
So, he just laughs at the young Batman hypotheticals Wally comes up with as they continue to shoot the shit and watch over earth from high above. Almost like a rooftop, but on a much larger scale. B definitely came up with that one.
And so the Justice League evolves with the new heroes in it, while Nightwing and Batman masquerade as strangers to protect their family.
However, before Dick was Nightwing, he was Robin and it is hard to hide years of working alongside each other with only the other one as backup. Even Barbara came later. At the start, it was just them and that’s hard to forget.
Bruce tries to hide it, putting Dick on different teams, knowing he is capable of leading them, and scheduling different training days for them, as well as trying to stay out of his way as Dick establishes himself among their allies.
But avoiding each other entirely is suspicious too. Besides, it’s unavoidable sometimes. They have skill sets that compliment each other well, it’s natural that they get assigned together, especially when it’s a stealth mission.
Still, they maintain a professional distance. They’re coworkers, whose styles mesh well, but who aren’t particularly close.
And so time passes and the world changes more.
Cass is making a name for herself in Hong Kong, Jason is running around with his Outlaws, while Tim has joined the Teen Titans (under the guise that his name is merely an homage to the Robin rumors from his hometown, where he doesn’t operate) and Steph is striking out with the Birds of Prey.
Only Damian and Duke, the babies of the family, are safe in Gotham – for as far Gotham is safe. And even then, it’s really only Damian, whose existence is still rumor. Signal runs around in broad daylight, the first confirmed connection to the Bat.
A connection, they observed, that has protected him thus far. Not harmed.
Sure, they all know the risks of being a vigilante, but there is no more anonymity keeping them safe. Robin is starting to be believed in more and more, vague images floating around with increased cameras on the streets and all the others have been spotted outside of the context of Gotham. Maybe it is time.
Maybe, telling the world that these people fall under the protection of Gotham’s Legend. Of the first hero – though he doesn’t use the term himself – that ever graced the world. Of the man that is still here, no matter what life throws at him.
Maybe that will be safer than having them be lone vigilantes out in the wind, ready to be taken out by any wannabe villain trying to make their mark.
Red Hood has always worn a bat on his chest, but most considered it a mockery (as it was intended at the time). However, when more and more start to appear, people take it more seriously.
Like, Orphan, who patrols the street in her Black Bat get up that she usually dawns in Gotham, Red Robin, who introduces Robin to the Teen Titans – thus also the world – confirming his existence and tying them both to the Bat, while Steph finally takes on the mask of Batgirl full time.
It’s a perfect plan that goes off without a hitch.
Sure, there is a small explosion online as people learn how many vigilantes patrol Gotham and Gothamites start to share old tweets that were conspiracy theories at the time or their own experiences with the newly revealed vigilantes.
Within the hero community people are surprised to see just how many vigilantes Batman trained, though only Dick hears about that, since Bruce avoids the Watchtower like the plague afterwards.
Naturally, Dick reports gleefully about all the wild shit he’s heard in the halls of the Watchtower to his siblings with grandeur.
Like that first time back on the Watchtower after the reveal. Wally zooms up to him in the middle of the cafeteria area, saying: “Did you see about all the Batman children popping up everywhere?”
“Of course,” Dick snorts, because why the hell would he not have?
“Did Batman, like birth them all? What do you think?” Wally asks breathlessly, obviously it’s been eating at his mind.
Before Dick can reply, Diana interrupts: “I did not know Batman was a sculptor, gifted by the Gods.”
“What?” both Dick and Wally reply, confused.
“His children,” Diana says, her tone giving away that she thinks they should understand that. When it becomes clear they don’t, she expands: “My mother brought a lump of clay before the Gods. She shaped me and breathed life into me. I assumed Batman had done the same, is that not so?”
It’s quiet for a moment as they process what the Amazonian princess just said. Then it takes every ounce of Dick’s training to say straight faced as he explains that humans don’t reproduce that way, while Wally just fails and breaks down in laughter.
By the time Diana understands, Hal has joined them, having wandered over to find out what they hell was happening over there.
He asks: “Spooky really had a bunch of kids? Somehow I can’t imagine him with a baby, like did he have batdiapers made?”
Amused Dick thinks about the last time he saw B hold a baby. Definitely better with kids older than four. So, he shakes his head and says: “Nah, he adopted.”
“That makes sense,” Wally agrees.
“So, he just found a bunch of highly competent kids?” Hal says, not buying it. “I mean, where would he even get them?”
Dick starts laughing immediately, because this has always been his favorite joke to make. However, his laughter prevents him from speaking, so for a second he looks insane, then he gleefully chokes out: “T- the- the circus!”
Wally punches his shoulder and says: “Don’t be a dick,” with an amused voice.
Naturally that only sends Dick into a further spiral and he can’t explain, both because he’s still laughing and because he doesn’t actually want to give their secret identities away. They’ve luckily changed topics by the time he’s gotten himself under control.
All in all, it is a win for once. No organization breaks out of the shadows to target them all and the hero community doesn’t suddenly turn against them. The only thing they forget, is that they never mentioned that Nightwing is also a Bat associate.
Dick has always tried to make Nigthwing outside of his association with the Batman, moving to a city and picking a theme and name far from Batman’s influence.
Bruce has learned over the course of many fights to respect that. And he values his relationship with his son enough that he does, especially when being protective – a thing all of them have at some point referred to as being overbearing.
So, when they’re talking about tying everyone to the Batman, they don’t think to make a plan for Nightwing too. Dick is a Bruce’s son and he’ll always help when Gotham needs it, but Nightwing is Blüdhaven’s vigilante, helping the Bat, but standing on his own.
Besides, he is a part of the Justice League like Batman is, they already know him. He doesn’t need to be revealed to them, he is them.
It’s a silly mistake. More an oversight than a mistake, really. And the good news, is that it doesn’t matter that much. The bad news, is that they don’t realize they’ve made the oversight until they’re in the Watchtower and it’s too late.
Bruce has finally decided everything died down enough that he can show his face again without being overrun. However, as an extra buffer, he has assigned himself monitor duty with Dick.
Sadly, Dick is a more social person than Bruce and he regularly shows up a little early so he can chat with whoever is there, before settling down at the monitors. So, if he wants to use Dick as a human shield – Bruce prefers social interaction lighting rod – then he’ll have to act now, use Dick as a distraction so he can sneak to the observation deck.
So, he travels with Dick to the Watchtower, the two of them appearing together as they discuss the latest drug smuggling case Dick has been working on. It’s been keeping him busy, so he hasn’t been on the Watchtower in a bit.
When they get to the cafeteria area where most heroes gather, Bruce stays half a step behind Dick, hoping one of his friends will spot him and he can make his escape. However, instead it seems like a few have stayed behind when they saw Batman was on duty just to talk to him.
“Batman,” Diana greets with a smile, coming his way as more people spot him. Curse you, Diana, for being earnest and nice enough that Bruce would feel bad disappearing on her.
“Wonder Woman,” he replies. Then he adds: “Flash,” because the man has come their way as well.
“Heya, Bats, Nightwing,” Wally greets. “Surprised to see you up here, finally decided that you couldn’t hide out in your cave forever? Or did the kids push you?”
Dick snorts at that and Bruce sends him a glare, not reacting. Clark is making his way over as well and he is not looking forward to that. No use in already embarrassing himself.
Clark reaches them, right as Diana smiles: “Yes, your children, Batman. I wanted to congratulate you on the fine warriors you’ve raised. Green Lantern showed me videos of their valor in battle, you must be very proud.”
“Hn,” Bruce grunts. Obviously he is proud of his kids, but he barely knows how to tell them that, he doesn’t know how to even begin this conversation.
“Come on, Batman,” Clark joins the conversation. “You can’t be quiet about them forever. We want to know about them, about you. They all popped up at the same time, it had to be coordinated, knowing you.”
“Yeah, man, brag a little,” Wally both teases and encourages.
Bruce only feels cornered now. He loves his kids and as Brucie he has no trouble bragging about them, knowing what to say and meaning every words of it.
He wants to tell them about Damian’s last art exhibit, how well Tim has been dealing with his vigilante life and the company, how well Steph has been doing in her classes and how much good Jason and Cass have been doing out on their own. He wants to tell them about how well Duke has been settling in at the Manor and in the family, how much Barbara has been helping the community from the library and how Dick has been making such a difference in Blüdhaven.
However, immediately, he shuts all those thoughts down. He made their connections known to protect them and every detail he gives away to these people, can only put them in danger again.
Of course he is also proud of their vigilantism, but talking about that, might show weaknesses, things they had to grow in. And that is also dangerous. Having them be mysteries is how he has always protected them, he doesn’t know how to be proud without the possibility of hurting them hanging over his head.
Fortunately, Dick doesn’t leave him hanging and serves as the social interaction lighting rod, Bruce hoped he’d be.
After a beat, Dick smiles widely and slings and arm around Bruce. He pulls him closer as he easily says: “Don’t worry about his grumpy exterior. That was his proud grunt. You learn to understand him. Right, B?” then he tugs on the cowl ear, something he has always done.
Bruce lets a small smile slip at that, because unlike what some people think, he does try to be a person sometimes. Like, Dick. Dick knows, which is why he squeezes his shoulder for a moment, a quiet support.
The moment is broken by the three around them, loudly wondering different things: “B?” “Since when are you so buddy-buddy?” “I did not know you were so close.”
Both startle back at the sudden explosion of noise, then look confused at the three heroes, aware of the eyes of everyone suddenly on them, before looking back at each other.
“What do you mean, B is my-” Dick starts, before suddenly realizing something. He turns to Bruce with wide eyes as he says: “Oh my god, we totally forgot to mention that you’re my dad too.”
“Hn,” Bruce says again, hating when it is shown that he’s not infallible, but human. Very human compared to the supers they surround them with.
Around them, it seems like everyone has fallen silent for a second. Busy comprehending. Then there is a repeat of before, with everyone falling over themselves to ask questions. They do so loudly and overlapping with each other, years of press conferences has taught both to stay quiet until they’ve sorted themselves out.
As expected, everyone quiet down after a bit when there are no immediate answers forthcoming. A reporter at heart, Clark pounces in the silence: “We never found any ties between Nightwing and Batman, not even going years back. How did you hide that?”
Dick laughs a little sheepishly: “I was going through my rebellious phase when I first started out, I didn’t want any of B’s interference when setting out on my own.”
“Wait, but if you didn’t start out together, then how did you get good? Did you get a vigilante starter kit or something?” Hal asks, coming over and dropping any pretenses that he hadn’t been eavesdropping.
“No, course not,” Dick snorts. “I was the first Robin. Got all my training before I even started with Nigthwing. B here had already taught me everything he knew.”
“Hn,” Bruce interjects.
“Well, practically everything,” Dick amends. “But I also learned stuff from some other people that he doesn’t know. So, same difference in the end.”
“Haven’t you been Nightwing for the past eight years, dude?” Wally asks, confused.
“Yeah? So?” Dick replies, because he has. He doesn’t know what that has to do with the conversation.
“How freaking old are you then?” Wally exclaims.
“I’m twenty-six,” Dick says.
Clark looks between them, then asks Bruce: “May I know how old you are then? Should you still be doing this?”
Bruce glares at him and says: “I’m thirty-eight, Superman. Not ancient.”
“Wait, thirty-eight? That’s only twelve years apart,” Wally quickly calculates.
“That is way too young to have a kid, Bats,” Hal whistles, a bit disturbed.
“I didn’t become his father when I was twelve, Lantern,” Bruce grouches, already dreading the next two hours that he’s going to be stuck here.
“Oh, yeah, adoption,” Hal says apologetically, cringing slightly at himself.
“Is that too young?” Diana asks, innocently.
“Yes, way too young,” Bruce grits, before anyone else can answer her.
“Uh-huh,” Dick nods. Then he suddenly says: “Twelve years. I never thought of it like that. Are we really that little apart? You seem so old in my memories, but that’s even less than me and Little D.”
“Well, I imagine perception warps things,” Bruce says. “A twenty-one year old must seem like quite the adult when you’re nine.”
“I suppose.”
“Okay, so you were adopted when you were nine?” Wally says. “When did you start being Robin. I know the current one is like twelve or some shit, but nine is way too young to be running around fighting crime.”
Neither Dick nor Bruce respond to that, both giving each other a glance. Their lack of response tells everyone there enough.
“What the Hell, Batman – pardon my French,” Clark exclaims. “A lot of us have sidekicks, but to start training someone that young. And without precedence?”
“To send a child onto the battlefield is frowned upon,” Diana agrees, more echoing her disapproving look.
Again, Bruce feels cornered. He has never been comfortable with his kids putting themselves in danger. G-d, knows he isn’t, especially after Jason.
However, if he hadn’t equipped them and trained them, they would have been out there anyway and that would have been way more dangerous. But to explain that, feels like giving excuses, when he knows it isn’t a great thing to be doing.
Dick steps in again, diffusing by saying: “Hey, hey, lay off him for a bit. It’s not like he had much of a say in it. If I hadn’t become Robin, I would’ve committed murder at nine and spend the rest of my days in juvie.”
Record scratch. Pause.
Another silence.
Another explosion.
The loudest among them is Wally, who is arguably Nightwing’s best friend and thought he knew the guy pretty well before this, exclaiming: “What the hell, man.”
This time, it is Bruce, who steps in for Dick. He says: “We have all been in dark places and bad stuff has happened to all of us. Let’s not judge a kid, who just suffered a loss. It was a temporary anger, you’ve all seen the kind of hero he is, the type of man he has become.”
A beat of silence passes, before Dick jokes: “See, told you that was his proud grunt,” though Bruce can hear the layer of emotion he attempts to hide with it.
Luckily the others drop it too, letting the moment pass. Wally just says: “Damn, just when I think I’m getting to know you, you’re just another mystery.”
“I’m like an onion,” Dick smiles. “Layers.”
Wally groans as Hal says: “Really? Shrek?” which launches them into a discussion about the movie and its merits.
Meanwhile, Bruce is getting pinned by Diana and Clark, they gazes preventing him from walking away.
“You didn’t say anything about being related to Nightwing when he was voted in,” Clark comments.
“I voted for him,” Bruce replies.
“You know that is not the same, Batman,” Diana says kindly.
“Nightwing is his own vigilante,” Bruce says. “He has worked hard to come out from my shadow. I trust him to make it on his own. My vote was based on his work, just like it always will be. It’s not like I didn’t vote for anyone else.”
“Hm, maybe,” Clark agrees. “But you’re keeping secrets.”
“I always have,” Bruce shoots right back.
“About your identity, we can respect that, but Clark is right,” Diana says. “This isn’t just your private life, this also impacts us. Your other kids aren’t in the League, but Nightwing works with us. We would have liked to know. Can you imagine if we learned about it, because something happened to you out there? Or vise versa?”
Bruce doesn’t like to think about anything happening to Dick, but he can imagine the reverse wouldn’t have been very pretty. “Hn.”
Clark says: “You’re allowed to keep secrets, Batman, we won’t force you. But haven’t we proven ourselves to be your friends? You can let us in. Keep us in the loop.”
Precisely because they are his friends, they can become a danger. People close to him are the ones that will be used to target him, he can’t just risk his kids like that. However, he doesn’t think having that conversation will help, so he says nothing once more.
Diana sighs at that, a bit defeated, making a little bit of guilt churn in his gut (though not enough to risk giving anything away).
Clark asks: “At least tell us if you’re hiding another kid somewhere.”
“I will,” he says, because it is the least he can do. Though he mentally adds the caveat; if it is relevant for the job. He tries to ignore the stab in his heart when Clark and Diana give him a big grin in response.
Before he can give it further thought, the conversation is interrupted by Dick, who calls out: “Get a move on, B. We still have monitor duty.”
He is smiling, surrounded by his friends. Friends he made on his own. He looks happy. Confident. A good young man. One that stands on his own, yet knows he’s not by himself. Bruce can’t find it in him to feel guilty about giving Dick the space to become that person. Not when they both had to grow as people to get there.
They were the first two costumed vigilantes the world knew, even if they haunted the shadows for most of their time as a duo. The two of them are older than heroes. Older than the League. They have enough experience to asses the risks themselves.
Besides, Bruce can privately admit that everyone’s reactions have been kind of funny. He’s sure Dick and his other kids agree. If he knows them well enough, they’re probably watching on a feed Barbara pulled up, laughing at them and gathering more blackmail. Maybe he’ll do it all again, if he ever adopts another kid.
Though, he doesn’t let any of that show, just keeping his face neutral as he goes to join Dick for their monitor duty.
He hears Hal whisper: “Teach me how you got away with saying that,” and knows it’s going to be a long two hours.
~~
A/N:
I know the timeline doesn’t make sense, especially with Nightwing as a name, but my fic my rules. This is more to be funny than to actually have a conversation with canon xp

L-Corp sponsors and helps create a huge dinosaur theme park that is filled with top of the line life like animatronic dinos of all kinds programmed to wander around premapped enclosures, some even interact with guests with the help of “handlers” like baby Dinos that love to approach little kids and raptors that like to scare adults. In the main building there is a whole museum about dinosaurs with interactive exhibits, a fossil digging sandbox, and meet and greets with real paleontologists!
Naturally Lena gets VIP passes for all the Superfriends and they go together. Kara, Alex and Esme are like kids in a candy store, Brainy is slightly confused and scared, Nia is having fun watching her boyfriend get jump scared by raptors, J’onn is a proud, tired, space dad trying to keep all his children in line. It’s a great day and it’s rounded off, slightly poorly, by a park wide showing of Jurassic Park.

I believe that Bruce started out obsessively protective of his identity and anything important to him with the League. He wouldn’t breathe a word about anything because he still didn’t quite trust them. And then things would go on and, after a while, he realizes he trusts -maybe even likes- the members of his team. Moreover, everyone else was more or else out with their identities and it was hindering group collaboration to have him be the only one still hiding.
So he decides to tell the League but Bruce is kind of a freak and doesn’t like, actually have a real conversation with them. No, he just stops hiding stuff and expects them to catch up leading to wild exchanges like.
Batman glancing at his phone during a meeting: Ladies, Gentlemen, Lantern, I have to cut this meeting short. My foster son microwaved tinfoil and started a kitchen fire. He’s alright but is very upset.
J’onn, the only one aware Batman had a child bc of Dad Radar while the rest gape: Please give your boy our best.
-
Batman talking to Clark about farm life: It’s one tractor, Kent. What does it cost? 1 million dollars?
Clark laughs until he realizes Batman is dead serious.
-
Hal: Y’know I was raised Catholic but my mother was Jewish so I’m trying to explore that side of me more.
Bruce: I understand, my mother was Jewish as well but she insisted we celebrate it alongside both my fathers’ Christian leanings.
Hal: ...
Bruce: My second father is British as well which always made things confusing.
-
Eventually someone with a braincell puts it together that Batman = Bruce Wayne and it’s a whole ordeal and Bruce just heaves a long sigh.
“You’re just realizing? I’ve been telling you for months.”

Old story, but since dpxdc crossovers are a thing now…
MARTIAN MANHUNTER ADOPTS IMMORTAL TIME APPRENTICE DANNY PHANTOM
“Danny.” Clockwork said, pulling him into a hug, “I love you, and I wish I could prevent you from experiencing what you must experience. However, the Observants have spoken, and there’s nothing I can do.”
“I’ll be fine, Dad.” Danny smiled sadly, “Besides, I’m immortal now, so I won’t die - well, half die, that is.”
“Rain down the Netherlands on those evil aliens.” Clockwork advised, “And trust only the Martian who is unlike the rest, a martian named J’onn J’onzz, and all whom he sees as comrades. Tell him that you heard of the oncoming threat, and came to help, but didn’t know until recently of the threat. That is the truth. The time stream that we needed started to fade in that area, and I realized too late that it needed to be changed.”
“Thank you, Dad, for everything. I love you, too.” Danny smiled sadly, having realized the fading timeline meant he might not be able to come back.
“I can see you have discovered the risk.” Clockwork smiles sadly, tears in his eyes, “Please, my son, seek to find happiness, and if you decide you need another father figure, I give you my blessing to call him your dad. After all, I only wish for your happiness, and hope you’ll find love wherever you go.”
“Thank you, Dad, goodbye.” A portal opened up, and Danny walked through, “I love you.” Clockwork cried softly, and Danny could hear him through the portal.
“I love you, son. More than you’ll ever know.”
Danny reached his destination, and saw a Martian looking in need of help. The rest of his friends laid scattered dead. Danny saw the evil aliens about to kill him. Danny shot forward, threw them back, and froze them.
“Come on!” Danny told him telepathically. His head shot up as Danny pulled him around a corner.
“What?! Who are you? What are you? Why are you here? Why did you help me?” The Martian sent a whirlwind of questions into his head.
“I’m Danny, or Phantom, and I am a friend who got here too late. I want to help; tell me how, and tell me your name.” Danny told the Martian.
“I am J’onn J’onzz.” The Martian told Danny, “And we need to use this bomb to paralyze the White Martian Invaders, but we need to hide it in a corridor around here!”
“Okay.” Danny grinned, and took the bomb, placing it in the floor using his intangibility.
“Why didn’t I think of that?” The Martian berated himself.
“I dunno, but we gotta go, right, unless you wanna be paralyzed with these guys?” Danny asked. J’onn nodded in agreement, and started running off. The two quickly got lost, and the bombs went off. After a while, they were trapped in with the White Martians, and, when the enemies were free, the two were trapped as examples of what the White Martians have defeated. They sat in their cell, knowing they could not escape without setting the White Martians free. The White Martians were growing restless, and they kept trying to get out, but to no avail. They would torture the two of them for information on how to escape, but neither would say a thing. J’onn listened to Danny’s full life story, and Danny listened to J’onn. The two were close friends, and they plotted ways to annoy the White Martians. They were experiencing the daily torture section 500 years later when...
BOOM! The sound of the doors opening was deafening, the White Martian torturing them ran off, leaving their cell door open. Danny, and J’onn stumbled out, and ran towards the gate to save whatever fool had opened the thing. However, they were too late, and the White Martians took off for earth, leaving a dead human. We looked at each other, eyes wide. They were going to destroy earth!
“Can you fly?” Danny asked J’onn telepathically.
“Yes.” The martian admitted, “But it is a very long way! The White Martians have jets, amongst other things; they’ll get there first! Besides, you know they’ll infiltrate earth slowly. No one will believe us until it’s too late!”
“Then that gives us plenty of time to get there, and hopefully, if we hurry, we can bypass the White Martians.” Danny grinned at J’onn, “I can see a shortcut if we go this way! Come on!”
The martian shook his head, a soft smile on his lips as Danny dragged him away with a sample of the plant used to paralyze the White Martians in his hand, “Sometimes, I forget that you are a child, and then there’s moments like these where I am reminded.” Danny just winked at him, a silly grin on his face. With that they shot off towards Earth. They flew for about a year. The White Martians did get there first, but they accidentally let the two bypass. They landed on earth, and military vans surrounded them.
“Hey, it’s okay!” Danny put his hands in a surrender position as the military, lifted their guns, “We come in peace, the White Martians about to invade your planet that we came to warn you about, not so much.” The militants glared at Danny.
“Capture them.” The general ordered. Danny groaned, and let himself be arrested. J’onn sighed, and let the militants apprehend him as well. The men trapped then in a stasis field, and left them to rot. J’onn, and Danny discovered that they could still communicate fully to each other through telepathy, but to no one else. They decided to send out a message to any inhuman earth citizens, but the messages that were supposed to warn them of danger were jumbled. They pressed on. Then, suddenly, J’onn got the message to a kryptonian.
“I got it through!” J’onn told Danny.
“Good!” Danny thought back happily. There was a bang on the door down the hall, as their savior began to bash his way in.
“Hold it Superman!” a voice demanded from outside the door, “Destroying government property isn’t your style, what’s going on?”
“See for yourself.” The kryptonian told the stranger, and the door was ripped off. Danny could hear their footsteps, and the second door rip open as the two made their way into the room. Danny was glad he was still in Phantom form.
“What are those?”
“Mankind’s only hope.” Superman replied. With that he freed us, and we both stumbled to the ground. Batman caught me, and Superman caught J’onn.
“They were trying to reach out to me telepathically, but because of the stasis field the messages were jumbled up.” Superman told the other, “When I finally understood, I came immediately to save them.”
“What are they doing here?” The other man asked unsurely.
“The invasion.” The two aliens said in sync telepathically. The unknown man stepped back.
“We came to warn you,” Danny continued, “but…”
“We were captured, and imprisoned here.” J’onn sighed.
“They wouldn’t listen.” Danny finished.
“Big surprise.” The guy said sarcastically.
“I sense you do not trust me.” J’onn told him, “Perhaps this will help?” J’onn changed his appearance to one slightly more human-like, the man took a few more steps back, but J’onn didn’t seem to notice as he spoke aloud, “I am J’onn J'onzz.” He held out his hand for a handshake.
“I’m Danny, or Phantom.” Danny grinned at them, “Just FYI.” He flew up, and sat on his comrade’s shoulder. The man’s eyes narrowed.
“Don’t take it personally, guys.” Superman sighed, “He doesn’t trust anybody.”
“A wise policy.” The two others said in sync. They looked at each other, and chuckled slightly.
“Come on,” Superman’s determined voice got their attention quickly, “We’ve got an invasion to stop.” Superman began to walk the group through the large holes he’d made in the walls, and telling them the plan.
“Wow.” Danny muttered, looking at the huge holes in the wall, “You sure did a number on this place.” Superman blushed pink, and Danny blushed a vibrant green. Batman stared at Danny in surprise, but didn’t comment.
“Stop right there, Superman.” The General from earlier growled, “You’re trespassing in a restricted area. Our orders are to keep those freaks here!”
“Wait!” Superman dived in between the heroes, and the General, “I’ll vouch for them! You must let us go!”
“I don’t think so.” The General stated. Danny was starting to get a bad feeling about this.
“But the world’s security might be at stake!” Superman protested.
“That’s why they’ll never leave here alive.” The General and the soldiers behind him morphed into White Martians.
“Oh, come on!” Danny shouted, “Give us a break!!!”
In the ensuing battle, the man, who still hadn’t told Danny his name, didn’t see an invader come up behind him.
“Watch out!” J’onn shouted, and Danny phased through batman, before turning solid and taking the blast.
“DANNY!” Danny heard J’onn shout as he drifted into unconsciousness.
Danny woke up on J’onn’s lap in… a black jet?
“Danny!” J’onn sounded so relieved, “Thank goodness you’re alright.”
“That was close.” The man from earlier stated, while flying the jet.
“We’re not free yet, look.” J’onn turned his head towards the White Martian’s intergalactic space jets. The other man tried to dodge, but eventually a wing was knocked off, and they began to plummet into a ravine. Superman was shot away from behind them. All seemed lost when suddenly, a green light surrounded the jet, and it stopped falling. Danny gasped.
“What happened?” Batman asked.
“Help has arrived.” J’onn replied. Danny looked up, and saw a Green Lantern using the power ring to lift the jet. When he looked another direction, a woman with eagle wings was attacking the jets. He grinned, and intangibly floated up above the jet, the Martian following behind him shortly after. They reached Green Lantern along with Superman.
“Sorry, I’m late.” The Green Lantern told them, “There was an uprising in another galaxy.” They all went into battle, alien ships flying every which way. At some point, another girl joined them along with a man who said his name was Flash. When they finished, they gathered around on a ledge that the man, and his jet had been settled on.
“Oh, where have you been all my life,” Flash flirted with the only non - winged girl in the room.
“Themyscira.” The girl told him.
“Huh?” Flash asked.
“Home of the Amazons.” The girl with wings gasped, “I thought it was a mere legend!”
“I assure you, it’s as real as the ground you stand on.” The other girl told her, “I am Diana, Princess of the Amazons.”
“Pinch me.” Flash sighed, “I must be dreaming!” Danny pinched Flash as hard as he could, making the speedster bruise slightly, “OW!”
“Themyscira is protected by the gods, but I couldn’t idly stand by while the rest of the world was in danger.” Diana told us solemnly.
“It was lucky you showed up when you did.” Superman nodded.
“No, not luck.” J’onn told them, “I telepathically summoned them.”
“I might be pretty quick on the uptake, but will someone please tell me what the heck is going on here!” Flash begged.
Danny POV
“First, I think we need names, or code names, or whatever you’re using, and a basic explanation of what you are.” I sighed, “I’m getting tired of calling you that man in Black, the girl with wings, and, well, you get the point.”
“Fair enough.” Green Lantern sighed, “I’m the current Green Lantern.”
“I’m the Flash, I’m a metahuman, or a human with special powers.
“I’m Batman. I’m human.” Finally, a name!
“I’m Hawkgirl, and if you call me a girl with wings again, and objectify me, I’ll smack you with my mace. I’m an alien.”
“I’m Superman. I’m an alien.”
“I’m J’onn J’onzz. I’m an alien, Martian in fact.” My almost father figure, and friend told the group.
“I’m Phantom or Danny,” I sighed, “Kinda depends what day it is, what form I’m in, and who’s talking.”
“Wait, What?” Flash asked confused.
“Just call me Phantom.” I blushed green, “I’m a spirit from another dimension. I was sent to save mars, but got there too late, and then got trapped in this dimension. Managed to keep J’onn alive though. Maybe I can save all of this Earth this time. Batman, why don’t you tell us what you already know first.” Batman explained his part of things, and Superman joined in every once while.
“So you came to earth to warn us?” Hawk girl asked.
“This is just too weird.” Flash mumbled.
“I’ve seen stranger things.” Green Lantern announced.
“We encountered them a thousand or few earth years ago.” J’onn sighed, “It was a golden age, and on Mars we were at the precipice of our time. Then…” I stepped closer to him comfortingly, “They arrived. Where they came from, no one knew, and they were determined to make our planet their own. The Martians were peaceful people, but we quickly adapted to the ways of war. For centuries the battle raged on, every trace of our once great civilization was obliterated, but the invaders were parasites that fed off of our psychic energy. As we grew weaker they grew stronger. They even absorbed our telepathic, and shapeshifting abilities. A group of Martians made one final, desperate attack, but the rest of the group was killed, and I was unable to find a place to hide a final bomb. Then, Danny saved me from the pursuing invaders, and hid the final bomb. Once that was done, we sought for a way out, but it was for naught. We were paralyzed with the rest of the invaders while the door to our escape slammed shut. When the gas wore off, the invaders found us, and after realizing they were trapped by us, kept to to question us for information on how to escape. About an Earth year ago, a human accidentally set free the invaders. They set their sight on earth. Danny, and I then went to warn you, but were captured.”
“Wait.” Flash said, “Those astronauts never said anything about finding life on Mars.”
“Some person in Washington DC probably decided to keep it all hush, hush.” Green Lantern snorted.
“While we were held captive,” I chimed in, “They probably removed the deep space monitoring network, seeing as that would prevent you guys from ever seeing them coming.”
“We gotta stop them before it’s too late.” Green Lantern puffed out his chest.
Me and J’onn shared a look, “It may already be too late.” We said in sync.
“That’s creepy.” Flash shivered.
“Deal with it.” I shrugged. Then there was a loud crackling sound from afar. I dropped my silly disposition, and my face turned serious.
“It has begun.” J’onn confirmed my fears, “The invaders are nocturnal. They walk not in the sun, so they’re blocking it out so that it cannot harm them.”
“Friends of yours?” Flash teased Batman.
Batman scowled, “It’s no joke.”
“What’s the big problem, can’t you just whip our another batch of that nerve gas?” Flash asked.
“He had the plant it was made from, but it was destroyed when we were captured. It was the last of it’s kind as well.” I stated grimly.
“Uh… what’s plan B?” Flash asked.
“We have to take out those factories.” Diana said boldly.
“Lady, this is no job for amateurs - or for children!” Green Lantern scowled.
“Hey! We Amazons are warriors born, want to test me?” Diana scoffed.
“The world is at stake, and you’re arguing about how old I am? Besides, don’t you need all the help you can get?” I asked rhetorically.
“He’s right,” Superman said, “John, we need all the help we can get, even if it’s not as experienced.”
“Fine. We need to cover as much ground as possible; we’ll need to split into several groups.” Green Lantern explained.
Flash zoomed over beside Diana, “Dibs on the Amazon!”
Flash ended up with me, and Green Lantern’s group. He was pouting as he ran over the water.
“You are no fun.” He complained.
“This is not supposed to be fun.” Green Lantern stated.
“Besides,” I rolled my eyes, “You were creeping her out. You’d just distract the others with your flirting.”
“Right, and there’s no place for distractions.” Green Lantern agreed.
“However, you, sir, shouldn’t have been so harsh about it. Also, sometimes a little bit of humor, brightens up the darkest times. If I had died with a happier thought, maybe I wouldn’t be stuck like this for eternity.” We reached the shore, and rushed to our designated location.
“Let’s discuss the plan.” Green Lantern told us. I nodded willingly, but Flash has other ideas.
“What plan?” He scoffed, “We kick their butts, right?” He ran off, and got stuck in some slime that was puddling on the ground.
“Fool.” Green Lantern muttered, “We gotta save him now.”
“True.” I sighed, and shot an ectoplasmic blast out of my fingertip, and made one of the attacking invader’s machines’ legs fall off. Green Lantern then went to save Flash while I defended them. Then, right as Flash was freed, I got hit.
“PHANTOM!!!” Green Lantern shouted. I shakily stood up, only to collapse. I sighed, and Flash picked me up. I passed out. I dazedly woke up to someone poking me, and my body feeling shaky. I at first assumed I had been through another torture session.
“I’ll… be… fine…” I murmured, “Just give me a few minutes J’onn. What did they do this time?”
“Phantom! Wake up!” The voice sounded desperate. I mumbled something incoherent, and then I heard someone say something that always woke me up.
“Hey, Danny, time to eat!” Flash’s words caused me to shoot up. Flash laughed at my disappointed face when I realized there was no food.
“Seriously?” Green Lantern asked.
“Hey, I’m eternally a teenager, what can I say?” I laughed.
“We’re reaching the randevu point.” Green Lantern sighed, “There’s going to be chaos; we might need to step in, by the way, we won.”
“Oh. Yeah, another world is ending.” I remembered.
I flew throughout the city, saving several people. I could see Green Lantern, and Flash doing the same. We reached the building we’d agreed to stop at, and landed beside J’onn, and Diana.
“Hey sorry we’re late,” Green Lantern apologized, “We had to help some civilians.”
“What’d you call us back for?” Flash asked.
“Superman, and Hawkgirl have been captured! They’re somewhere in there.” Diana gestured to the massive factory in the distance.
“Whoa.” Flash muttered.
“Wait.” I paused, “What about Batman?”
“He acted bravely until the very end.” J’onn looked grim as he said this, but I could tell he knew something more. Batman wasn’t dead, but they needed to think he was. I stepped back in false surprise.
“The bat’s dead?” Flash asked in horror.
“He was a true warrior.” Diana said, clearly believing him to be dead.
“This is not good.” Green Lantern stepped forward, “Definitely not good.”
We snuck off towards the factory shortly after.
“I can’t believe we’re doing this again.” Flash mumbled.
“Superman, and Hawkgirl are in there, someone’s gotta rescue them.” Green Lantern told him, “We are going to rescue them, right, J’onn?”
“Yes, your friends are still alive, but we must act quickly, the imperial is coming.” J’onn told us.
“Oh great.” I muttered, “The imperial.”
“The Who?” Flash asked.
“The imperial is like a giant mastermind invader.” I supplied, “It’s an intelligent disgusting blob that leads them.”
“My companion is correct, though his explanation is simplified.” J’onn confirmed
“Can we trust these space guys?” Flash asked, “I mean, Phantom and J’onn know an awful lot about the invaders.”
“Do we have a choice?” Green Lantern asked.
“I can hear you know.” I told them annoyed, “We literally flew for a year straight from Mars to Earth to warn about this, then we got captured, put into stasis, and now we’re trying to save you from an enemy that has killed J’onn’s family, and then did things you see in your worst nightmares when they captured us. I would recommend trusting us, because right now, our knowledge from being through this, and being their prisoner is saving your life.”
“Good point.” Flash mumbled.
“Let’s get moving.” Green Lantern stood up, and we all stood up shortly after, “Flash, you’re distraction, Diana watch my back.”
“You wanna rely on an amateur?” Diana threw Green Lantern’s words in his face.
Green Lantern ignored her, “Let’s go.”
While Flash caused a distraction, we snuck into the factory.
“Where do we go?” Green Lantern asked.
“This way.” Me and him said in sync, and turned the direction we sensed their minds.
“Creepy.” Diana muttered. We heard the invaders, and dived behind a wall.
“Wait here.” J’onn whispered, and shape shifted into an invader. He pretended that he was going to help them capture us, and as the two invaders ran off, he transformed back into whatever he turned himself into for Batman. It was kinda weird to see him like this after 500 years of seeing him in his regular form. I watched as he killed the two invaders in front of all of us, a dark, haunted look in his eyes.
“Is it just me, or does he creep you out too?” Flash asked thin air.
“It’s just you.” I glared.
We followed him into the caves, and both me and J’onn said, “We’re almost there.”
“They’re somewhere behind these walls.” I said.
“Yes, I can sense it too.” J’onn nodded. Green Lantern used his ring to cut open the door way. They all entered, but me, and J’onn froze after the first step inside.
“Something’s not right.” We shouted.
“Guys!” I realized as Superman, and Hawkgirl opened their eyes, “It’s a trap!”
“Wha-?” Flash asked, before a gas emitted from the walls. I coughed, and passed out.
I watched as J’onn was beaten, tears in my eyes, “J’ONN!” The invader who was next to me just lifted his whip, and hit my back again. I struggled against their rope - like material made special to hold me.
“Danny…” J’onn rasped, “I’ll be okay.” The invader kicked him, and he grunted. He jerked forward. I watched as the invaders threw in the healing gas, and flinched as it knocked me out once more. When I awoke, I ran to J’onn, hugging him. He grunted in surprise.
“Don’t do that again.” I sobbed, “They could’ve killed you, they could’ve killed you!”
“Phantom…” a distant voice said, “Phantom…”
“Phantom? Phantom!” Another voice said distantly
“PHANTOM!” Hawkgirl screamed, and I jolted awake.
“You were the only one still asleep.” She explained, and the memories came rushing back.
“Oh no.” I muttered, “Oh no, no, no, no! NO! Please no. I can’t be captured again, they can’t do this again. Please, please, please.”
“Phantom?” Diana asked, “Phantom what’s wrong?”
I ignored her, continuing to panic, “Oh, god, oh god. I can’t do this. Not again. Not again. I can’t do it! I can’t do it!”
“What’d you do?” Flash asked.
“Nothing.” Hawkgirl defended.
“Danny…” J’onn telepathically connected to Danny, “It’s alright. They won’t hurt you. I won’t let them. I promise.”
“Promise…” Danny asked J’onn aloud, looking like a hurt puppy.
“If they do, they’ll have a very angry Martian on their hands.” J’onn told Danny telepathically, and Danny took some deep breaths.
“What was that?” Flash asked.
“I don’t wanna talk about it right now.” Danny mumbled.
“Fair enough.” Green Lantern nodded.
Suddenly a bunch of invaders appeared, and one for them morphed into a human.
“Senator Connor.” Superman glared. The invader then decided to talk about his brilliant plan to trick Superman, and the world.
“You made it so humanity never stood a chance.” The invader finished.
“It’s not over yet.” Superman defied.
“Wrong again, Superman.” The roof opened up, and the imperial landed in the center of the room.

When you have to do so much fucking math for a fic. And yet that’s the only reason why you would do that much fucking math to begin with. Would someone be willing to check it? It’s for my Dad from Mars fic and it does contain spoilers for the end of chapter 5. So beware. :3 Linking the fic so that you can read if you’d like. ^w^
~~~
If walking from the high school parking lot takes about 10 minutes and their apartment is two blocks away; that means that it would take Danny about five minutes to walk one block. The GIW stopped him about half a block away from his house. Meaning that their initial confrontation happens approx. 7.5 minutes after Danny left the parking lot putting the time at…2:36am. If that’s the time that Danny pushed his panic button and J’onn foregoes the Zeta tubes completely he would get there in approximately 45 seconds. Because Martian Manhunter’s speed is calculated at 7 miles per second. Which then places him going 420 miles per fucking MINUTE. The Watchtower is probably somewhere between the Thermoshpere and the Exoshpere making it approx 190 miles above Earth. 190/7=27.14 But he could be going faster because Full Send, Danny needs him NOW. And yet, within those 45 seconds is when Danny gets horribly injured by the GIW. But Kenna, the math says that he would get there in 27.14 seconds not 45. Well, we have to factor in that he Density Shifts through the Watchtower. No matter how fast he wants to go, he can’t just rip through the Watchtower without a care. So that’s where the extra 18 seconds comes into play. The time is now approx. 2:38-2:39am depending on the seconds and how long J’onn’s conversation with Batman was. Which was not very long to begin with.
There are probably at least 12-15 agents piled into the van. Say Danny is able to take out at least seven of them before he’s shot down, that leaves 5-8 agents for J’onn to take care of. Even if he defeats them all in record time this would still probably take him at least 5-7 minutes because he’s not only fighting the agents but is also having to protect a severely injured Danny. This does slow him down but not by much. After he has secured the unconscious and probably injured agents J’onn would immediately scoop up Danny and head to the nearest Zeta. Why? Because he doesn’t know how exactly suddenly traveling to space at exponential speeds would affect the teen. So he’s playing it safe. Say that takes him another 5 or so minutes because he’s not going full speed due to the aforementioned reason. It is now approx. 2:44-2:46am. Zeta portaling is near instantaneous so I won’t be factoring it into the final time.
Once onboard the Watchtower they would have to travel down several floors to get to the infirmary. This would probably take another 5-7 minutes depending on if they could get the elevators to override and give the Martian and injured teen a straight shot down. As soon as they get there there is a flurry of movement and vague disorder from the sudden appearance of a probably coding patient. They most likely spend another 5 minutes trying to coordinate a plan and gather relevant information on what happened as well as what they need to know about health history. It takes them another 2-3 minutes to prep the OR and Danny. Another minute or so and the surgeon meets J’onn to glean some extra information. He can’t remember anymore so that’s when he calls Jazz. It’s currently between 3:00-3:04am. Jazz is attending the Ivy League School of her dreams, which puts her at 3 hours ahead of where Danny and J’onn had moved post chapter 4. So for Jazz it’s 6:00-6:04am.
~~~
I had to do so much math just to figure out what time it was for Jazz at the end of chapter 5. I mildly hate myself because I’ve been working on this damn time problem for a good chunk of the past 3 hours. I really hope that I did it all correctly. I literally just googled things to find the numbers to plug into the corresponding equations.

Is Dick Grayson-Batman not getting the opportunity to be on a big name JLA squad, (a la Kyle Rayner and Wally West take over for Hal and Barry during Morrison’s JLA era) a missed opportunity? Yeah, there was James Robinson’s “epic” C-list lineup, but I was wondering why you think DC seemingly weren’t interested in Bat-Dick having a bigger role in the wider DCU at the time? And in-universe, how would Dick function in a real Justice League, compared to Bruce? What would the dynamics with Clark, Diana, J’onn, etc. look like in your opinion?
I’m not sure if it’s a missed opportunity or not.
One of the things that made Dick’s tenure as Batman such a captivating read was how much he did not want to be Batman.  He had ‘found’ himself as Nightwing and stepping in as Batman was a lateral movement in his own life journey made simply out of necessity.
Wally, Kyle and Conner were each eager to take on the mantle of their predecessors.  Succeeding in being the Flash, The Green Lantern and The Green Arrow were their personal goals, whereas being The Batman felt more an obligation and cruel twist of fate for Dick.
The narrative was only going to work if it had a terminus - a point where Dick could stop being Batman, stop wearing his dad’s clothes, and return to being his own man.  Could DC have made Dick’s time as Batman longer?  Certainly… yet in my opinion it still needed to end the way it did.
Superhero comics can have aspects of tragedy in them, but ultimately need to revert back to hopefulness and resolution.  Failing to do so takes away the fantasy wish-fulfillment element that acts as a cornerstone of the appeal of superheroes in the first place.

Batfam and Batsis Headcannon: The Teams Part 1
Majority of DCU knows about the Batfamily and many work with them and have formed teams with them. However, while many have worked with Y/n she was never officially on anyone’s team. In fact a lot of the League have never worked with her but a select few have had the chance.
Superman and Wonder Woman have worked with her countless times, there were even times that had to fill in for Batman and she assisted them. It goes without saying Diana Prince loves all of the Batkids but Y/n definitely has a special bond with the Princess. While Barbara oversaw most of Y/n’s training she was trained by others. Her most worked with trainer was Diana herself.
Barbara had Y/n complete her training with Diana and she had to win in order for Barbara to give her final blessing for her to suit up.
“Remember never go for the obvious attack.” Diana swiftly block Y/n’s bow staff strike and shove her backward.
“Never let your opponent get your weak spot,” she attempted to strike the girl who backflipped out the way and block two punches,”You’ll face many who will not stop because you are a child, you must fight them with your all. And then,” she kicked the back of Y/n’s knee and she caught herself before hitting Diana in the chest.
“You give more. Never let your guard down.” Y/n smirked. Diana returned the smirk,”Good. Again child.”
She always worked with Clark, before Tim joined she had to protect the city while Batman and Nightwing were in England to find information about a Drug Lord who had recently smuggled weapons and drugs into the city and need to find him in London.
“Are you sure your gonna be okay, I can ask Wally to—“
“I’ll be fine mother hen.” She scoffed putting on her utility belt and cape.
“I know you will, but I’d rather be safe than sorry that’s why I’ve asked Clark to visit you throughout the next two nights.”
“What! So you don’t trust me after all!” She stocked over to him but he pulled his cowl up and hopped into the Batwing.
“He’s there as backup.” Nightwing joined him and with that they raced out of the cave.
Batgirl stood overtop of a building while listening to a group of armed men break into one of Black Mask’s buildings.
“Show time.” She threw smoke and glided down and began fighting them. She didn’t realize there was several more around the corner and soon she was surrounded by some armed and unarmed men.
“Where you gonna go now Brat-girl?”
“I don’t know yet maybe Amusement Mile, but you are so going to Blackgate creep.”
“You little bitch I’m gonna—“ before he could shot her his body was sent flying into a group of trash cans.
“Now that’s no way to talk to a young lady.” Superman smirked. The other goons looked like they were gonna shit their pants and Batgirl rolled her eyes.
“Go ahead pretend like I’m not here.” He quickly took all the remaining guns and crushed them into a ball.
Batgirl quickly started fighting the shocked and terrified goons until one managed to run but Superman met him around the corner and the goon passed out before he could do anything. He brought him back to the alley where Batgirl was tying up the rest of the goons.
“I had him.”
“Uh huh, sure you did.” Superman dropped the goon and Batgirl cuffed him to a dumpster.
She grappled to the rooftops where Superman was floating above as sirens could be heard in the distance.
“So,how about a pizza break. I can fly us to Sicily?” He offered.
Batgirl stood before the Kryptonite for a moment,”A Large Margarita?”
He grinned,”Scouts Honor.” She scoffed and climbed onto his back,”Dad’s right you kinda are a bit of a Boy Scout.” And he took off,”What’s wrong with that?” He asked innocently.
The other members of the league she did get to meet as well. She loved spending time with with J’onn while she studied as it was very quiet in the command room.
“So do all Martian have your powers, or are you just one of a kind?”
“While most of my people have gifts and abilities my were more advanced then those in my age group when I was younger.” He didn’t even turn in her direction as he continued to type away on the keyboard.
She tapped her pen on her Geometry textbook.”What was it like, on Mars before the invasion?”
He continued typing for a few minutes before stopping.” It was Home, many things here on Earth are alike. Such as bonds with friends and family, we had our customs and traditions as well. Many think we are so different and while yes there is a difference between an Earthling and a Martian may of us fiction the same in terms of daily living.” He was solemn for a bit before returning to typing.
“Well, I’m glad the team has as someone like you around.” The Martian grinned. “And I’m sure the Bat is lucky to have daughter so curious and eager to learn about different cultures.”
“He better be.” The tween smiled.
She had taken a liking to listening in on League conversations, many of which weren’t even about missions just chaos and disaster.
“Thats’s a bunch of bull!” Hal shouted as Barry and Dinah entered the canteen with irrigation painted across their faces.
Y/n was munching on cheese fries and reading a book Jason gave her a long time ago.
“Hey kid, how’s book going?” Dinah took a seat next to her. “It’s good, what is Hal whining about today?”
She smirked stealing a fry,”He thinks your father is a vampire or something because he’s never seen during the daytime.” She sighed.
“How did you guys even get on this topic?” She marked her book and placed it down eating her fries with Dinah.
“He’s human for crying out loud!” Barry whined sitting down with his tray of hamburgers, nachos, cheese fries and sandwiches.
Hal sat down to taking a large gulp of his Cherry Cola,”Look I’m just saying if we throw Holly water on the Bats he could burst in flames.”
Y/n rolled her eyes under her mask and muttered,”I see why John is the smart Lantern.” Hal turned his gaze to her and grinned.
“Hey kiddo, why don’t you enlighten us. You live with Dracula does he ever walk into the sunlight, does he ever run from garlic, does he ever state food on holy ground?”
“Only when it’s Lasagna night and you eat garlic bread too, But he doesn’t smell like a garlic plant like you do.” Dinah had to hide her face but Barry was doubled over laughing.
“Definitely the Bat’s kid.” He grumbled walking away while checking his breath.
Y/n spent many weekends at Titans Tower before and after becoming Batgirl. She enjoyed being dragged to new pop up shops with Kory or visiting the vintage camera stores with Donna.
She also would play video games with Gar and Victor or mediate with Raven.
“You know the garden at the Manor are great place for tranquility.” She opened one eye looking in Raven’s direction.
“Tempting, I may take you up on that offer Y/n.” Raven had a tiny grin on her face.
“RAVEN! You’ve Hogged Y/n ALL MORNING!” The two turned to Gar who had a annoyed look on his face. Y/n giggled at his antics but Raven sighed.
“We’re mediating, beside you just want her to rematch you in Mario Party and we all know she’ll beat you anyway.” She replied.
“Not True!”
Kori, Dick and Wally enter the room and watch the two bicker back and forth. Y/n slips away to the kitchen where Victor is making pancakes.
“Do they ever not fight?” She turned to Victor who placed two plate of chocolate chip pancakes down. Wally took the other seat and began to devour them.
“This goes without but I doubt they even like breathing the same air as each other.” Wally commented with his face covered in syrup and chocolate chips.
“YOUR ANNOYING!”
“YOU SNORE!”
Dick and Kori watch from the kitchen as Vic hands them plates too.
“Y/n there’s a new sale, would you like to join me after breakfast?” Kori beamed.
“Of course, besides Dick promised to take me to the bookstore next door.” Everyone turned their gaze to the one and only Flying Grayson with syrup now covering his face.
“What?” The girls snickered at Dick but soon the voices of the other two took back over.
“Get a room already!” Victor yelled, which caused them to start bickering with him and Dick covered his face while everyone else ate and watched.

List of the Kent family (aka Martha and Jonathan are parenting and grand parenting these people no matter what you say):
1: Clark Kent. I mean is this even a question?
2: Lana Lang. they don’t care that they aren’t involved anymore, Lana is always welcome. Unless she just recently tried to kryptonite gas the planet.
3: Lois Lane. Again, how would this be a question?
4: Jimmy Olsen. I’ll be honest I know they love him, but he’s 100% the person they make fun of behind his back like proper midwesterners. Yes we all have that one person.
5: Linda Danvers: They don’t know if they see her as a niece, daughter or granddaughter, but they love her so much.
6: The Danvers: Have you read the comics with these guys in them? They’re awesome and they helped with so much.
7: Kara’s Kryptonian parents if they aren’t in Kandor.
8: Karen Starr: They don’t see her much, but if she ever needs a break they have an apple pie ready for her.
9: Mon-El: Not sure where’s he’s at currently in comics, but if he’s not dying, he’s welcome.
10: Chris Kent: Their first for sure grandchild who they taught their child how to forge documents for upon meeting him.
11: Kon-El: He doesn’t see Superman as dad, but these three see each other as grandparents and grandson. The only argument I will accept on this is if you hc him as trans or non-binary.
12: Connor Kent (YJ show): He sees Clark as an absentee father, but these two were never absent once they found out about each other.
13: Jon Kent: They love this little bundle of joy.
14: Jonathan Kent (older Jon, don’t ask it’s a lot): They’re a little disappointed in him, but they love him and understand what he did and that he’s trying. But he’s, like Kara aren’t allowed plus ones cause they have awful taste in ppl.
15: Maik-El (Superboynfrom RoTS movie): Once he’s taken in by the Danvers and punching Jon, they welcome him with open arms.
16: Thara (possibly): I need to read more to make this calling.
17: Kong Kenan: They had Clark bring him over when they heard about the new Superman in China. He was a little overwhelmed but has since warmed up and blames Ma Kent for that extra five pounds (not like it’s muscle, but blame the pie.)
Obviously others are invited such as the Bats, the Wonders, J’onn, etc, but these ones are their family. If I missed any other Supers please let me know. Superlad might get added along with Matrix, but I have some reading to do before that.

My take on a Brainia proposal. I hope y'all enjoy.
“What do you want for dinner? I’m thinking pasta, does that sound good?”
“Hmm? Of course, whatever you like.”
Nia turns and fixes Brainy with a look, but he’s too busy staring into space to register her concern. As a matter of fact, he’s been distant and preoccupied for a few days now. She walks over to his chair and perches on the arm, putting a hand on his shoulder.
“Okay, what’s on your mind?” she asks. “You’ve been acting weird since before we left Parthas. Was meeting my dad really that bad?”
“No, no, of course not,” he says. “He was very kind. It’s only that he...he gave me something the night you went to bed early.”
He pulls a small box out of the pocket of his hoodie, and Nia’s breath catches. She knows that box, and more importantly, she knows what’s inside of it. How could she not? It’s been around since before she was born, glittering on her mother’s finger or else set aside in a small glass bowl, safely away from any wet paint.
“Mom’s ring? He gave you Mom’s ring?”
“He did. If I have been acting weird, as you say, it is only because I have been trying to make a plan.”
She leans further into his space. “Brainy, you know I don’t need some big, grand proposal, right? You could ask me right here, right now, and I’d say yes.”
“So I should refrain from hiring a marching band?”
“Please do not hire a marching band. Or a string trio. Or any musicians, period.” Only then does she catch the little smirk at the corner of his mouth. “All right, mister comedian, let’s shelve this discussion and figure out dinner. I’m getting hungry.”
--
Three days later, Nia returns home from work to find the apartment dark and silent. It’s not unusual for her to get home before Brainy, but the note she finds on the kitchen bar tells her he’s been home and gone again.
Meet me at the Tower.
“Could’ve texted me that before I got all the way home,” she mutters, but she goes right back out the door and locks it behind her.
They have the full resources of the DEO at their disposal again, but the Tower remains an operational base for the Superfriends and for emergencies. And for proposals, it would seem; she wonders just what Brainy’s settled on, and what she’ll find when she gets there.
Without a flyer to bring her straight into the Tower itself, she has to go through J’onn’s old office. J’onn himself is nowhere in sight, but the door isn’t locked and the hidden elevator opens up as she walks in, so clearly at least one member of the family is in on the plan.
...Or all of them. When she reaches her destination and the elevator doors open, they’re all waiting. But she has eyes only for Brainy, who stands just inside the glass doors to the balcony with a slight smile on his face. She hurries up the stairs to join him, nearly tripping on the top one, and he reaches out to steady her.
“Sorry.”
“Don’t be,” he says. He runs his hand down her arm to take her hand and lead her out to the balcony proper.
And there he goes down on one knee, his eyes locked on hers.
“Nia Nal, will you marry me?”
“Yes,” and she’s in his arms in a heartbeat, the world a blur as her eyes fill with tears.
