Marauders’ House !
“Music for a Sushi Restaurant” is the opening song to The Marauders' third studio album, Marauders' House. In a combination of smooth jazz and freaky ‘70s pop, Potter (writer of the song) sings about making sushi while relating it to his desire for a relationship. In a May 2022 interview in The Valkyries podcast, the lead singer revealed the story behind the funky song:
"I was in a sushi restaurant in LA with someone and one of our songs came on from the last album, and the person I was with pointed out that it was a "weird song for a sushi restaurant" which obviously lead to an argument and ended on this perfect song for "those type of restaurants".
see the lyrics of the song here.
— Jegulus au. 676 words. no tw. Based on MFASR by Harry Styles.
"Hey!" exclaimed James excitedly, tapping Regulus’s outstretched hand to get his attention "Do you hear that, baby? They’re playing Canyon Moon!"
At Regulus' request, both had decided to go out for dinner. Regulus hadn’t stopped talking for weeks about a restaurant he had visited with Dorcas, and finally after so much insistence, he had managed to drag James to a round table in the far corner of that tiny restaurant.
James will never admit it out loud, because it would feed her boyfriend’s obsession, but he too had fallen in love with the place the second he put his foot in it. "I hear it, yes," Regulus replied, rolling his eyes without looking away from the posters hanging from the ceiling, apparently today’s menu, as the waitress explained, "Sirius couldn’t be more obvious, "Canyon Moon"?"
Quick pause in conversation
He plays songs I've never heard
An old lover's hippie music
Pretends not to know the words
And I keep thinking back to
A time under the canyon moon
After singing quietly along, James laughed while leaning on the table, glancing at the ceiling to look at the menu himself, "When has Sirius been subtle?"
“Touché” said Regulus, making James whisper “hot” under his breath right before the waitress came to their table to take their orders.
After the sweet lady left, Regulus looked around checking the restaurant before leaning on the table to whisper to James “To be honest, I don’t think this is a fitting song for this type of restaurant” An offended gasp left James’ lips, and he smacked Regulus’ shoulder gently.
“How very dare you”
“You’re gonna tell me that I’m wrong?”
“Of course, our songs fit into any sort of environment”
“Yeah, no, I don’t think so” a bratty tone tint Regulus words, leaning onto the back of his chair, crossing his arms with a small smile on the corner of his lips.
“You’re mean”
“I just pointed out a fact. Not every song you guys do fit anywhere, especially not this little and pretty restaurant, it’s a weird song for a sushi restaurant”
“I bet I can change your mind with a song. In fact, I will write a song that fits this restaurant so well that you’ll be embarrassed by what you just said”
“Oh will you now?”
“Hell yeah, before our food comes, I will have the perfect song”
Regulus laughed a bit too hard for that, giving James the perfect view of his pale collarbones under that slim t-shirt. James arched an eyebrow, ready to challenge his boyfriend’s attitude,
“You don’t think I can do that?”
"Of course I don’t think you can write a song before our food comes" said Regulus with a witty tone, sharing a small smile with James who looked too cocky by now.
"Is that a challenge, my love?"
"You bet it is" a cheeky smile spread across Regulus' face. James felt his heart racing.
So, for a whole half hour, James kept writing and re-writing a whole song he finishes five seconds before they have their food on the table. And when he shares the lyrics with his boyfriend, the only comment Regulus says is:
"You have the imagination of a three-year-old”.
Two months later, James was in the studio recording "Music For a Sushi Restaurant", with Remus' bass track in the background and the background vocals recorded before by Sirius and Peter complementing his vocals in the chorus. Regulus’s laughter penetrated his track even from outside the booth, making James smile broadly at Sirius grimaced.
If the stars were edible
And our hearts were never full
Could we live with just a taste?
Just taste
It’s 'cause I love you, babe
In every kind of way
Just a little taste
Know I love you, babe
Not even the high volume of the trumpets dampened the scandalous cry of Sirius, who pounced on the microphone of their producer.
"We are so over, James Potter!"
Regulus smacked his brother on the side, starting a nasty sibling fist fight.
James never felt so alive.

Rosalie O. || I’ve got my eyes on you
Warning • one sided love?, mentions same sex relationship as taboo (nun homophobic ion do that shit)
Genre • lil angst, fluff at the end
Pairing • Rosalie x black fem! reader
A/n: it’s 4 in the morning don’t mind my mistakes 🙃 but I put my heart and soul into this one…it’s kinda short tho but leave me alone 😭😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You've had your eye on her since you first set foot on this boat. She is stunning, from the way her eyes twinkle with confidence, to how her skin glows in the sun or moonlight, to even the way she carries herself. She is self-assured, knows her worth, and isn't afraid to put others in their place. You found it insanely attractive, but you couldn't act on your feelings because being in a romantic relationship of the same gender is extremely taboo, so you buried your sinful thoughts away for only you to know.
"My Rosalie, you're amazing on the piano, isn't she y/n?" Linnet smiled as she admired her friend's talent on the piano. You blinked out of your trance, nodding.
“Oh yeah she’s very skilled, such lovely talent.”
Rosalie bowed her head and thanked you, and you smiled and walked away, trying not to stare too long.
You found yourself walking towards the deck, where you sipped champagne while staring at the night sky. The stars were beautiful tonight, and the Nile glistened just right in the moonlight; you wish you had someone to share this moment with, but the type of love you desire is forbidden in the eyes of others.
"May I join you, Ms. y/n?" You turn around to see Rosalie, the woman whom you adore.
“Oh Mrs. Otterbourne, of course you can join me” you welcomed her a little too eagerly.
“It’s Ms by the way I’m unmarried” she corrected and you nodded.
"Right my apologies," you said, she gave you a small smile understanding your mistake. You watched her as she leaned against the railing, the wind blowing through her light curls; her beauty was breathtaking, her skin soft and dewy, as if she had been blessed by Aphrodite herself. Your gaze was drawn lower as you examined her attire, which ranged from Coco Chanel to Madeleine Vionnet, it was very rare for people of color to have such money to buy luxurious clothing but she could.
“She’s looks beautiful in blue.”
“Excuse me?” You jolt from hearing her voice, “I- um” my god y/n can you be any more dense, you internally curse at yourself.
“Rosalie, y/n come join the festivities!” you were saved by a drunk Simon bursting through the doors trying to reel you back into the party, but you couldn’t go back and party not after almost accidentally revealing your feelings to your crush who happens to be another woman.
"No thank you, I'm a little tired, I think I'll go get some rest, goodnight to both of you," you said as you walked up the stairs towards your room.
While closing the door you let out a breath of air you didn’t realizing you were holding. You made your way to the bathroom wanting to wash off the embarrassment you were feeling, while in the shower all you could of was her and it was frustrating.
You tried to distract yourself by thinking about tomorrow's activities, they said everyone was going to see an ancient tomb, that should be fun you thought. You were rubbing in your moisturizer when you heard a light knock on your door. You weren't in the mood to open it, and you also didn't feel like talking to anyone so you ignored it.
“It’s me Rosalie, do you mind letting me in? I know you’re awake because your light is still on.” You gasped jumping up from your seat snatching your robe off the bed quickly putting it on.
“May I help you?” You ask politely.
“You know I’m not stupid and I don’t like bein’ played for a fool” she snickered walking pass you entering your room.
“Whatever do you mean Ms. Otter- um I mean Rosalie?” You questioned tying your robe tighter around you. She took a seat on your bed crossing her legs “I mean you y/n, don’t think I don’t notice those longing stares, the way you blush when I complement your blouse or perfume, the way you-“
“Please stop! I'm sorry, okay?" you say, flustered, “I'm going to stop everything; I'm not going to look at you, talk to you, or even breathe in your direction. I know you're probably disgusted with me for having feelings for a woman, and I know it's not right," you hung your head in shame, refusing to make eye contact with her, you can't believe she found out you didn't think you were that obvious. You sat down on the vanity seat, feeling nauseous.
“You’re absolutely right it is seen as wrong but I never said I cared” your head shot up in confusion to see her wearing a flirtatious smirk “I’m sorry if my advances seemed a little- what’s the word…vague? But I am also interested in you. So no need to go boo-hooin’ and apologizin’ darlin ” you couldn’t believe your ears, Rosalie was into you?
“Why didn’t you say anything before?”
“Well I found it amusing seeing you squirm but it was becoming a little too obvious so I came here tonight to tell you I feel the same way.”
To say you were elated was a complete understatement, the most beautiful woman you’ve met like you back. Unable to contain your excitement you let out a little giggle, Rosalie noticed and smiled, you got up and went to join her on the bed.
"So what now?" When you ask, she takes your hands in hers and places them in her lap.
She smiled at you with sincerity. "I am not ashamed in who I am but I’m also not dumb either we'll be known as friends to others, but to us it'll be much more" she rubbed your knuckles with her thumb while staring at you in awe "Well I should be off to my room now it's pretty late and don’t wanna raise questions" you frowned not wanting to see her go but knowing you'd see her tomorrow brought you joy.
"Night y/n and don’t forget I’ve got my eye on you.”
"Good night Rosalie," you smiled as she kissed your cheek and exited your room, and you watched her walk down to her room before returning to yours.
"Wow, what a night."

Varieties of Theism
Agnostic Theism Whereas atheism and theism deal with belief, agnosticism deals with knowledge. The Greek roots of the term combine a (without) and gnosis (knowledge). Hence, agnosticism literally means “without knowledge.” In the context where it is normally used, the term means: without knowledge of the existence of gods. Since it is possible for a person to believe in one or more gods without claiming to know for sure that any gods exist, it's possible to be an agnostic theist.
Monotheism The term monotheism comes from the Greek monos, (one) and theos (god). Thus, monotheism is the belief in the existence of a single god. Monotheism is typically contrasted with polytheism (see below), which is a belief in many gods, and with atheism, which is an absence of any belief in any gods.
Polytheism Polytheism is the belief in the existence of multiple gods. The prefix ''poly'' means many, so polytheists believe that there are multiple divine forces in existence. The Greek and Roman pantheons are excellent examples of these, as they consist of many gods that govern different aspects of nature and essences of humanity. Some argue that Christianity is a polytheistic religion because of the worship of the Trinity. However, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all aspects of a single God, making it a monotheistic religion.
Deism Deism is actually a form of monotheism, but it remains distinct enough in character and development to justify discussing separately. In addition to adopting the beliefs of general monotheism, deists also adopt the belief that the single existing god is personal in nature and transcendent from the created universe. However, they reject the belief, common among monotheists in the West, that this god is immanent—presently active in the created universe.
Henotheism and Monolatry Henotheism is based upon the Greek roots heis or henos, (one), and theos (god). But the term is not a synonym for monotheism, despite the fact that it has the same etymological meaning.
Another word expressing the same idea is monolatry, which is based on the Greek roots monos (one), and latreia (service or religious worship). The term appears to have been first used by Julius Wellhausen to described a type of polytheism in which just a single god is worshiped but where other gods are accepted as existing elsewhere. Many tribal religions fall into this category.
Pantheism The word pantheism is built from the Greek roots pan (all) and theos (god); thus, pantheism is either a belief that the universe is God and worthy of worship, or that God is the sum total of all there is and that the combined substances, forces, and natural laws that we see around us are therefore manifestations of God. The early Egyptian and Hindu religions are regarded as pantheistic, and Taoism is also sometimes considered a pantheistic belief system.
Panentheism The word panentheism is Greek for “all-in-God,” pan-en-theos. A panentheistic belief system posits the existence of a god that interpenetrates every part of nature but which is nevertheless fully distinct from nature. This god is, therefore, part of nature, but at the same time still retains an independent identity.
Impersonal Idealism In the philosophy of Impersonal Idealism, universal ideals are identified as god. There are elements of impersonal idealism, for example, in the Christian belief that "God is love," or the humanist view that "God is knowledge."
Autotheism The term ''autotheism'' is composed of two parts: the prefix, ''auto,'' and the root/suffix combination, ''theism.'' ''Auto'' means ''self, one's own, by oneself.'' So, autotheism is the belief that one is a god themself. It has also been described as someone who mistakes one's inner voices as God's voice within them.
Kathenotheism The belief that there are many gods, but only one deity at a time should be worshipped, each being supreme in turn.
Ditheism (or Duotheism) The belief in two equally powerful gods, often, but not always, with complementary properties and in constant opposition, such as God and Goddess in Wicca, or Good and Evil in Zoroastrianism and Manichaeism. The early mystical religion Gnosticism is another example of a ditheistic belief of sorts, due to their claim that the thing worshipped as God in this world is actually an evil impostor, but that a true benevolent deity worthy of being called "God" exists beyond this world.
Misotheism The belief that gods exist, but that they are actually evil. The English word was coined by Thomas de Quincey in 1846. Strictly speaking, the term connotes an attitude of hatred towards the god or gods, rather than making a statement about their nature.
Dystheism The belief that gods exist, but that they are not wholly good, or possibly even evil (as opposed to eutheism, the belief that God exists and is wholly good). Trickster gods found in polytheistic belief systems often have a dystheistic nature, and there are various examples of arguable dystheism in the Bible.
Animism Animism is the idea that all things—animate and inanimate—possess a spirit or an essence. First coined in 1871, animism is a key feature in many ancient religions, especially of indigenous tribal cultures. Animism is a foundational element in the development of ancient human spirituality, and it can be identified in different forms throughout major modern world religions.
Totemism Totemism is a system of belief in which man is believed to have kinship with a totem or a mystical relationship is said to exist between a group or an individual and a totem. A totem is an object, such as an animal or plant that serves as the emblem or symbol of a kinship group or a person. The term totemism has been used to characterize a cluster of traits in the religion and in the social organization of many primitive peoples.

Today the Church honors St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Monk, Theologian, Doctor of the Church.
Ora pro nobis.
St. Bernard de Clairvaux, (born 1090 AD, probably Fontaine-les-Dijon, near Dijon, Burgundy [France]—died August 20, 1153 AD, Clairvaux, Champagne; canonized January 18, 1174; feast day August 20), was a Cistercian monk and mystic, the founder and abbot of the abbey of Clairvaux, and one of the most influential churchmen of his time.
Born of Burgundian landowning aristocracy, Bernard grew up in a family of five brothers and one sister. The familial atmosphere engendered in him a deep respect for mercy, justice, and loyal affection for others. Faith and morals were taken seriously, but without priggishness. Both his parents were exceptional models of virtue. It is said that his mother, Aleth, exerted a virtuous influence upon Bernard only second to what Monica had done for Augustine of Hippo in the 5th century. Her death, in 1107, so affected Bernard that he claimed that this is when his “long path to complete conversion” began.
He turned away from his literary education, begun at the school at Châtillon-sur-Seine, and from ecclesiastical advancement, toward a life of renunciation and solitude. Bernard sought the counsel of the abbot of Cîteaux, Stephen Harding, and decided to enter this struggling, small, new community that had been established by Robert of Molesmes in 1098 as an effort to restore Benedictinism to a more primitive and austere pattern of life. Bernard took his time in terminating his domestic affairs and in persuading his brothers and some 25 companions to join him. He entered the Cîteaux community in 1112, and from then until 1115 he cultivated his spiritual and theological studies.
Bernard’s struggles with the flesh during this period may account for his early and rather consistent penchant for physical austerities. He was plagued most of his life by impaired health, which took the form of anemia, migraine, gastritis, hypertension, and an atrophied sense of taste.
Founder And Abbot Of Clairvaux
In 1115 Stephen Harding appointed him to lead a small group of monks to establish a monastery at Clairvaux, on the borders of Burgundy and Champagne. Four brothers, an uncle, two cousins, an architect, and two seasoned monks under the leadership of Bernard endured extreme deprivations for well over a decade before Clairvaux was self-sufficient. Meanwhile, as Bernard’s health worsened, his spirituality deepened. Under pressure from his ecclesiastical superiors and his friends, notably the bishop and scholar William of Champeaux, he retired to a hut near the monastery and to the discipline of a quack physician. It was here that his first writings evolved. They are characterized by repetition of references to the Church Fathers and by the use of analogues, etymologies, alliterations, and biblical symbols, and they are imbued with resonance and poetic genius. It was here, also, that he produced a small but complete treatise on Mariology (study of doctrines and dogmas concerning the Virgin Mary), “Praises of the Virgin Mother.” Bernard was to become a major champion of a moderate cult of the Virgin, though he did not support the notion of Mary’s immaculate conception.
By 1119 the Cistercians had a charter approved by Pope Calixtus II for nine abbeys under the primacy of the abbot of Cîteaux. Bernard struggled and learned to live with the inevitable tension created by his desire to serve others in charity through obedience and his desire to cultivate his inner life by remaining in his monastic enclosure. His more than 300 letters and sermons manifest his quest to combine a mystical life of absorption in God with his friendship for those in misery and his concern for the faithful execution of responsibilities as a guardian of the life of the church.
It was a time when Bernard was experiencing what he apprehended as the divine in a mystical and intuitive manner. He could claim a form of higher knowledge that is the complement and fruition of faith and that reaches completion in prayer and contemplation. He could also commune with nature and say:
“Believe me, for I know, you will find something far greater in the woods than in books. Stones and trees will teach you that which you cannot learn from the masters.”
After writing a eulogy for the new military order of the Knights Templar he would write about the fundamentals of the Christian’s spiritual life, namely, the contemplation and imitation of Christ, which he expressed in his sermons “The Steps of Humility” and “The Love of God.”
Pillar Of The Church
The mature and most active phase of Bernard’s career occurred between 1130 and 1145. In these years both Clairvaux and Rome, the centre of gravity of medieval Christendom, focussed upon Bernard. Mediator and counsellor for several civil and ecclesiastical councils and for theological debates during seven years of papal disunity, he nevertheless found time to produce an extensive number of sermons on the Song of Solomon. As the confidant of five popes, he considered it his role to assist in healing the church of wounds inflicted by the antipopes (those elected pope contrary to prevailing clerical procedures), to oppose the rationalistic influence of the greatest and most popular dialectician of the age, Peter Abelard, and to cultivate the friendship of the greatest churchmen of the time. He could also rebuke a pope, as he did in his letter to Innocent II:
“There is but one opinion among all the faithful shepherds among us, namely, that justice is vanishing in the Church, that the power of the keys is gone, that episcopal authority is altogether turning rotten while not a bishop is able to avenge the wrongs done to God, nor is allowed to punish any misdeeds whatever, not even in his own diocese (parochia). And the cause of this they put down to you and the Roman Court.”
Bernard’s confrontations with Abelard ended in inevitable opposition because of their significant differences of temperament and attitudes. In contrast with the tradition of “silent opposition” by those of the school of monastic spirituality, Bernard vigorously denounced dialectical Scholasticism as degrading God’s mysteries, as one technique among others, though tending to exalt itself above the alleged limits of faith. One seeks God by learning to live in a school of charity and not through “scandalous curiosity,” he held. “We search in a worthier manner, we discover with greater facility through prayer than through disputation.” Possession of love is the first condition of the knowledge of God. However, Bernard finally claimed a victory over Abelard, not because of skill or cogency in argument but because of his homiletical denunciation and his favoured position with the bishops and the papacy.
Pope Eugenius III and King Louis VII of France induced Bernard to promote the cause of a Second Crusade (1147–49) to quell the prospect of a great Muslim surge engulfing both Latin and Greek Orthodox Christians. The Crusade ended in failure. Bernard’s inability to account for the quarrelsome nature of politics, peoples, dynasties, and adventurers left him unable to truly understand what he was being asked to support. He was an idealist with the ascetic ideals of Cîteaux grafted upon those of his father’s knightly tradition and his mother’s piety, who read into the hearts of the Crusaders—many of whom were bloodthirsty fanatics—his own integrity of motive.
In his remaining years he participated in the condemnation of Gilbert de La Porrée—a scholarly dialectician and bishop of Poitiers who held that Christ’s divine nature was only a human concept. He exhorted Pope Eugenius to stress his role as spiritual leader of the church over his role as leader of a great temporal power, and he was a major figure in church councils. His greatest literary endeavour, “Sermons on the Canticle of Canticles,” was written during this active time. It revealed his teaching, often described as “sweet as honey,” as in his later title doctor mellifluus. It was a love song supreme: “The Father is never fully known if He is not loved perfectly.” Add to this one of Bernard’s favourite prayers, “Whence arises the love of God? From God. And what is the measure of this love? To love without measure,” and one has a key to his doctrine.
St. Bernard was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1830, and was extolled in 1953 as “doctor mellifluus”, i.e. “honeyed speech”, in an encyclical of Pius XII.
O God, by your Holy Spirit you give to some the word of wisdom, to others the word of knowledge, and to others the word of faith: We praise your Name for the gifts of grace manifested in your servant Bernard, and we pray that your Church may never be destitute of such gifts; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, forever and ever.
Amen.

What I learned from my last relationship.
Okay, so no backstory needed. I'll just go on straight ahead.
Trust your gut. If you feel like this person isn't the person you want to be with for the rest of your life then don't be with them. It'll just end with you and them getting hurt.
Trust your partner. Whether or not you trust them, they could cheat, they could betray you, they could lie to you. Just trust them, give yourself peace of mind and them the benefit of doubt.
Don't be jealous or insecure. When they tell you they love you, believe them. Be okay with them having friends of the opposite sex. Avoid being possessive or holding them too tight. Who is for you, will always be for you.
Good men exist. They are few, they are rare, but they do exist. I was lucky enough to be loved by one and it came with peace. Someone who is stable, steady, understanding, loving. You deserve that. Do not give up.
Be clear and assertive about what you want and where you are in a relationship. It's hard for you because you always want to seem strong and confident and unfazed, but if you want something. Ask for it. If you're not sure, what something means. Ask what it means. Don't play games. It will save you a lot of pain and confusion in the future.
Be vulnerable and accept that to love someone means to be prepared to get hurt. Please, please; let people in. Bare your heart out. It is only then that you will be able to experience love in it's full capacity.
Don't settle. I don't mean physical appearance wise. I mean in the way they treat you. You and everyone on this earth deserve to be treated with respect, and love. Be with someone you really like, and someone that really likes you. Ask yourself: If we weren't in a relationship, would I want to be friends with this person?
Love is more an action than a feeling. After a while all that 'new person high' will calm and that is when the real relationship begins. Some days you will wake up and feel like you don't feel 'in love' with that person that day; that is when you should love them harder.
Find a way to still do what makes you happy. Referencing no. 5. Whenever you need 'me' time to recharge; ask for it. Whenever you need time to do your favorite activity; ask for it. If the person is your person, if they are truly for you, they will understand and even be happy about it.
Be honest always. It's hard, but avoid all lies. Even little white lies. Even when you just start talking to the person be completely honest. If you can't tell them about it; then you shouldn't be doing it.
Be kind and understanding especially in an argument. Try always to communicate from a place of love, avoid yelling or seeming harsh in that moment. Take a deep breath and talk it out maturely. Make it know that it is still a safe space. When necessary; agree to disagree.
Be with someone who wants the same thing as you. Without cajoling, begging, excessive compromising. Don't give up on something you really want that is an integral part of you. E.g Wanting kids. Your views on sex. Your views on marriage. Your views on religion.
Don't put the reasons for your partner's actions on yourself. When they do something that hurts you, don't blame yourself. It is about them. They are responsible for their actions. They are why they carried out that action, not you.
Figure out yourself and why you want to be in a relationship with this person. What do you want? Is this person what you want? What are your bad patterns in picking a partner? Do you want to be in this relationship because you are scared of being alone? because you are scared you will never find better? because people are in a relationship? because you want to experience and experiment? Whatever the reason is; figure it out. If it's for any reason besides love, that this person makes you happy and a better person then you should consider not being with them.
Pray and hope that the next person you are with is your forever person. That no matter how much you both grow and change; you will always love, complement, and be compatible with each other.
Pray that you never give up on working on your relationship, and on working to be better individuals.
Pray that God blesses you both with a long, happy, and fulfilled life.
And pray that God grants you what your heart desires and that He brings you your partner, your person, your very best friend as soon as possible. Most of all, pray that He gives you want you need.
Till then enjoy your life and chase your dreams !

Review:
Google Keep stands out for its no-frills approach to note-taking, delivering what you need without complicating your workflow. For students deeply entrenched in the Google ecosystem, it is a boon that enhances multitasking and organization. Its quick-access sidebar is a game changer, eliminating the need to switch between apps when plowing through emails or documents.
Maybe you’re researching for a term paper and find useful information; with a simple click, that content can be saved to Keep via the Chrome extension and later expanded into a full document in Google Docs. Keep nails the basics of digital note-taking while flawlessly marrying itself to the suite of Google services, serving not just as a standalone app but as a nexus point for your academic activities.
The app’s most striking feature is perhaps its simplicity – it’s this very quality that may win over students searching for an uncomplicated way to capture fleeting thoughts or detailed research.
While free note-taking apps may lack elaborate formatting options found in more robust apps, Google Keep’s strength lies in rapid note capture and exceptionally smooth integration, proving that sometimes, simplicity indeed is the ultimate sophistication.
3. Notion: Best Collaborative Note-Taking App for Students
Tumblr media
Key Features:
Collaborative note-taking: Notion allows multiple users to work on the same document simultaneously, making it ideal for team projects and group studies.
Flexible page & block system: Users can mix various blocks within pages, including text, images, to-do lists, and more, to customize notes according to their needs.
Integrated task and project management tools: Apart from note-taking, Notion helps keep track of tasks and deadlines, functioning as a comprehensive project management suite.
AI-Assisted functionalities: With AI features, Notion can summarize content, identify action items, and utilize a Q&A chatbot to help users navigate their notes.
Broad app integration: Through Zapier, Notion connects with a plethora of other apps, streamlining workflows and ensuring seamless information transfer.
Templates for quick setup: Notion provides pre-built templates so you can jumpstart your note-taking process or project management without starting from scratch.
Review:
Notion is undeniably a powerhouse among the best note-taking apps available for team collaboration and individual use. Foremost, the app shines with its versatile block system that supports the creation of customized and intricate note layouts. Users can include all sorts of multimedia elements, from engaging video clips for visual learners to voice notes perfect for auditory review sessions.
The embedded task management capabilities make it a favorite for those who want to transition seamlessly from meeting notes to actionable items, without the hassle of switching between different Google apps. Moreover, the AI elements of Notion aren’t just for show; they are practical tools that enhance the productivity of users, particularly for Apple users and others who manage large volumes of information. It’s a good note-taking app that transcends beyond just notes—it can transform into an information hub for everything work and study-related.
For those concerned with the flow of work across different platforms, Notion’s integration with Zapier and its availability as a free version provides an appealing solution. In an educational setting, students can utilize Notion’s free note-taking capability while also being able to delve into more advanced features as needed. Although the offline functionality might not measure up to other note-taking apps like Apple Notes, for those who primarily work online, Notion offers a robust platform that encourages productivity and collaboration.
Given the breadth of features, Notion might potentially intimidate the single user looking for simplicity. However, its value proposition lies in the high level of customization and advanced features that few other apps can rival. Whether it’s for managing complex projects or compiling comprehensive study guides, Notion stands out as a versatile and powerful application for anyone serious about elevating their note-taking game.
4. Microsoft OneNote: Best Cross-Platform Note-Taking App for Students
Tumblr media
Key Features:
Freeform Note-Taking Canvas: Allows users to organize their work just like a physical binder with sections and pages but with the flexibility to place notes anywhere on the page.
Integrates with Microsoft Office: Syncs easily with other Microsoft apps, ensuring students can manage all their notes and documents in one suite.
Audio Note Capability: Enables students to record lectures and meetings directly into their notes for easy playback.
Customizable OneNote Templates: Offers a variety of templates to quickly create structured notes for different needs and subjects.
Advanced Math Assistant: Aids students in solving complex math problems with step-by-step guidance (requires a subscription).
Zapier Integration for Automation: Connects with other applications via Zapier to streamline workflows and note management across platforms.
Review:
OneNote from Microsoft spectacularly addresses the needs of students by offering an intelligent and flexible platform for organizing digital notes. The app creates a dynamic note-taking space suitable for various academic demands, from scribbling quick ideas during a brainstorming session to in-depth lecture notes enriched with annotations and diagrams. What makes OneNote stand out is its virtually unlimited canvas where the organization is not confined but inspired by the creativity and unique requirements of the user—a dream come true for visually driven learners and multitaskers.
Seamless integration with other Google Apps is not its strongest suit, but if you’re already entrenched in a Microsoft-driven environment, OneNote could be a treasure trove. The lack of major integrations is a trade-off for its robust collaboration with the office suite and synchronization across all your devices, making sure that all the notes, rich text documents, audio files, and digital notes are accessible whenever and wherever needed.
The Math Assistant feature is a boon for students grappling with complex algebra or calculus, providing a solid companion for STEM subjects. With saving quick notes, scanning documents, and tucking away valuable web pages, OneNote promises that no nugget of information slips through the cracks. While the free version is generally sufficient for most users, active students who rely heavily on multimedia notes may find the extra storage from paid versions to be a worthwhile investment.
5. RemNote: A Dynamic Note-Taking App for Students
Tumblr media
Key Features:
Linked Notes: Create a web of knowledge with linked notes that mirror your thought processes.
Multiple Panes: Open and view several notes simultaneously to streamline studying.
Integrated Flashcards: Easily convert notes into flashcards for efficient study sessions.
Active Recall Practice: Utilize the flashcard system to reinforce memory through repeated self-testing.
Intelligent Spacing: The app smartly schedules review times based on your self-rated understanding of flashcard topics.
Robust Search Functionality: Quickly locate important notes, past lectures, or connected ideas.
Sync Across Devices: Your recent notes are accessible on any device, ensuring your information is always at your fingertips.
Document Scanning: Use the app to scan documents and include them in your notes effortlessly.
Review:
RemNote has proved to be a formidable player among note-taking applications, especially suited for the rigorous demands of academic study. Its ability to connect notes in a hierarchical structure makes it easier than ever to organize thoughts and study materials meaningfully. When it comes to multitasking, the multi-pane feature is a lifesaver; it offers the luxury of quickly referencing other topics without losing focus on current notes.
Moreover, RemNote addresses the common struggle of transferring and remembering knowledge through its seamless integration of flashcards. This is particularly useful for subjects that require memorization, such as biology or language vocabulary. Their intelligent spacing algorithm is akin to having a personal tutor, prompting review at optimized intervals to help fortify memory retention.
The search functionality has proven robust, managing to sift through unlimited notes to find exactly what’s needed without a hitch. As a student often on the move, I appreciate the sync feature, making my audio notes, text notes, recorded voice memos, and scanned documents available across all devices – from laptops to mobile apps.
In terms of accessibility, RemNote’s free plan is extremely capable, though the premium version unlocks even more powerful tools. Personal use, however, doesn’t necessarily warrant the additional expenditure, as the free app handles most note-taking needs with finesse. Adding to its strength are features like export notes and end-to-end encryption, which means you can keep your ideas safe and share them in different formats.
To sum it up, RemNote stands out as an essential tool for anyone looking to rein in the chaos of studying and replace it with a structured, efficient system for acquiring and retaining knowledge. Whether it’s for personal life organization or gearing up for a team project, RemNote is dazzling in its versatility and ease of use.
Top Considerations When Choosing a Note-Taking App for Students
Tumblr media
When it comes to choosing the best note-taking app for students, there are a few key considerations to keep in mind. These include:
Syncing Across Multiple Platforms:
To keep your notes up-to-date, whether you’re on your laptop or mobile device, the app needs to offer robust sync capabilities. An example is Microsoft OneNote, which syncs effortlessly across Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android versions.
Rich Media Options:
For those who prefer to enrich their textual notes with visuals or audio, apps like Bear Notes allow the integration of images and the ability to record voice memos, thus accommodating various learning styles.
Comprehensive Search:
The power to quickly sift through your notes can be a game-changer, especially during exam time. Note-taking software with robust search capabilities, such as Evernote’s Web Clipper feature, can turn hours of flipping through notes into a swift retrieval process.
User-Friendly Interface:
The intuitive design of apps like iCloud Notes ensures you can take notes quickly without the frustration of a steep learning curve, making for a more efficient study session.
Advanced Organizational Tools:
From tagging to creating separate notebooks, organizational tools are critical. Apps with these features help keep all your study material on the same page, figuratively speaking.
Integration with Popular Services:
Increase your productivity by using a notes app that integrates well with other web apps and services. For instance, a handy Chrome extension could save images and text directly from your browser into your note-taking application.
Collaborative Options for Team Use:
For group projects or study sessions, collaboration features like shared notes and simultaneous editing—as seen in Google Keep—are invaluable.
Security Measures:
To protect your notes, especially those containing personal or academic information, security features like two-factor authentication should be non-negotiable.

13 Digital Marketing Strategies for Startups for 2023
Like large and established companies, startups can sustain profitable growth only by boosting lead generation and conversion activities. But startups, like small businesses, often lack big advertisement budgets. They can leverage digital marketing to generate, nurture, and convert leads despite small advertisement budgets. They can plan and tailor their digital marketing approach carefully to compete with large and established companies.
According to KeyDifferences.com, “Digital marketing is the fundamental term that includes each and every online marketing effort. In digital marketing, companies make use of all the digital channels to reach existing and potential customers. The channels may include Google search, social media, email, websites, so on and so forth. Further, the most important technology, upon which digital marketing relies is ‘Internet‘.”
While making digital marketing strategies for startups in 2023, you must focus on implementing a multichannel marketing plan. Your digital marketing strategies must reach potential customers through multiple communication channels. Likewise, your digital marketing plan must explore ways to integrate paid advertising and organic advertising seamlessly. That is why; you need to include a slew of elements to make the digital marketing strategies for startups bring optimum results.
13 Digital Marketing Strategies for Startups to Accelerate Growth in 2023
1) Mobile First Web Design
In 2021, more than 54% of global website traffic comes from mobile devices. The percentage of consumers accessing websites on smartphones and tablets will increase in 2023. You can make digital marketing strategies for startups successful in the future only by adopting a mobile-first approach.
Instead of making the website look good on computers and mobile devices, you need to ensure that the website delivers an optimal user experience on the smallest screens. You must revamp the website to make it look, feel, and function like a mobile app. The redesigned website will keep visitors engaged by offering streamlined content and enhanced download speed.
2) Google My Business
Your digital marketing strategies for startups must make it easier for customers to find your business. Many entrepreneurs these days leverage the free tool provided by Google to optimize their profiles on Google Search and Maps. In addition to sharing important business information with customers, you can leverage Google My Business to interact with customers by requesting them to post reviews.
However, you must consider and compare some of the popular alternatives to Google My Business while implementing digital marketing strategies. Some of these websites allow you to publish business information, while others provide options to add customer reviews and product reviews. You can boost your startup’s online presence by creating profiles on multiple platforms.
3) Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
In addition to delivering an outstanding user experience, the mobile-first design will boost your website’s visibility and ranking on popular search engines. But you must implement a search engine optimization (SEO) strategy to generate and convert more leads consistently. While optimizing the website for search engines in 2023, you need to keep in mind the latest search engine guidelines as well as the emerging SEO trends.
Also, your digital marketing strategy must boost the website’s search visibility by implementing both on-page and off-page SEO techniques. For instance, you must implement on-page SEO techniques to optimize a web page’s content, title tag, URL, and images. At the same time, you must boost the web page’s relevance, popularity, credibility, and authority by implementing off-page SEO techniques.
4) Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
You can implement SEO strategies to boost your website’s organic or unpaid traffic. But your digital marketing strategies for startups must complement SEO with search engine marketing (SEM).  Unlike SEO, SEM focuses on diverting more search traffic to the website through paid advertising. You must implement an SEM strategy to get more website visitors and generate more leads in a short amount of time.
However, startups have to increase their advertising budget to implement an elaborate SEM strategy. You must curtail SEM costs by adopting best practices like creating ads for specific keywords, matching ads and landing pages, and choosing pay-per-click (PPC) instead of pay-per-view (PPV). These best practices will help you to beat the competition and get fast results without breaking advertising budgets.
5) Content Marketing
According to the marketing statistics posted on Hubspot.com, “Nearly 40% of marketers say content marketing is a very important part of their overall marketing strategy.”
The statistics depict how startups can generate and convert leads by creating, distributing, and promoting a variety of content. While implementing digital marketing strategies for startups in 2023, you must focus on the creation, distribution, and promotion of a variety of content – blogs, videos, podcasts, infographics, and ebooks.
At the same time, you must explore ways to influence the purchase decision of customers by persuading them to consume the content. Your strategy can engage and influence leads in 2023 only by sending personalized and targeted content. Also, you must match the content according to the customer’s current position in the buyer’s journey to solve problems or answer questions.
6) Social Media Marketing
According to Techjury.net, an average internet user spends more than two hours daily on social networking platforms. However, most internet users spend more time on Facebook than on other social networks. The massive popularity of social networks makes them one of the most powerful digital marketing channels in 2023. Your digital marketing strategies for startups must keep in place a robust social media marketing plan.
The social media marketing plan must be tailored according to your startup’s digital marketing goals by choosing the right social networks, creating relevant social media content, and keeping the brand voice consistent across platforms. For instance, your strategy must focus on creating a variety of social media content – posts, stories, photos, and videos – regularly. At the same time, the strategy must create a content calendar to ensure that the content is posted across social networks in an organized and consistent way.
7) Email Marketing
While implementing digital marketing strategies for startups, many marketers these days ignore email marketing.
But according to the digital marketing statistics compiled by wpforms.com, “49% of consumers say they would like to receive promotional emails from their favorite brands on a weekly basis.”
Your digital marketing strategies can engage and influence customers in 2023 by sending personalized and targeted emails.
Your strategy must focus on creating an email list by persuading website visitors to share their email ids using techniques like sign-in forms and lead magnets. Also, you must create informative and interesting emails that keep the recipients engaged and convey the desired message. You can easily make the recipient take the desired action – visit your website, subscribe to the newsletter, or buy your product – by including powerful call-to-actions (CTAs) in the email.
8) Influencer Marketing
The massive popularity of social networks creates opportunities for startups to promote their product or services through an influencer. Your digital marketing strategies for startups must explore ways to promote products/services through product mentions and endorsement from influencers. While launching this style of digital marketing campaign, you can focus on individuals who are considered experts in their niche and/or have a dedicated social media following.
But the outcome of this digital marketing strategy will purely depend on your choice of social influencer. You can find the right social influencer for particular demography using online platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Snapchat. Likewise, you can use specialized tools to identify and shortlist relevant social influencers for your niche and monitor their activities.
9) Video Marketing
While planning content marketing campaigns, you must focus on creating both text-based and visual content. But you must remember that video content is more effective than text and image content in engaging customers and making them absorb the desired messages. Also, you can influence the purchase decision of customers directly by posting explainer videos.
Your startup can get a higher ROI in 2023 by launching video marketing campaigns. The video marketing campaigns will focus extensively on showcasing and promoting your products/services through a variety of videos. Your digital marketing strategies for startups must focus on the creation and distribution of different types of videos – product demonstrations, explainers, customer testimonials, company culture, and behind the scene.
However, each type of video must be tailored according to your marketing goals and target audience. You must use the video as a powerful tool to strengthen the sales funnel by choosing the appropriate length, tone, and style. Also, you must implement a video SEO strategy to keep the video popular and achieve marketing goals in the long run.
10) Referral Marketing
You can leverage referral marketing to acquire new customers through word-of-mouth of existing customers. Your digital marketing strategies for startups must run a referral program that incentivizes existing customers to tell and recommend your products or services to their family, friends, and coworkers.
The referral program will incentivize existing customers by offering a variety of rewards – discounts, cashback, gift coupons, and referral bonuses. The rewards and freebies will encourage customers to refer and recommend your startup in their circle. However, you must use analytics to set up referral programs across websites, mobile apps, and social networks.
11) Retargeting Ads
While making digital marketing strategies for startups, you must focus extensively on engaging and retaining website visitors. Also, your strategies must make the visitors return to your website and perform the desired action by displaying retargeting ads. Your startup can display retargeting ads to convert window shoppers into customers.
According to Google Ads, “Retargeting ads allow your business to show targeted ads to the users who visited your website and didn’t complete a conversion – purchase an item, fill in a contact form, download a file, etc.”
Popular search engines and social networks display retargeting ads to your website visitors based on the pages visited by them. The relevant ads will remind the customer about your product or service while they visit other websites. Also, retargeting ads often increase conversion rates by seducing customers to revisit your website.
12) Viral Marketing
Unlike other digital marketing strategies, viral marketing requires your startups to spread information about a product or service on the internet through consumers. Social networking platforms create opportunities for you to launch viral marketing campaigns successfully without escalating advertisement costs.
But startups often find it challenging to make consumers spread organic and word-of-mouth information about a product/service. You have to come up with out-of-box ideas to create content that more and more consumers will share on social networking platforms. Also, you must include the appropriate message or CTA in the trending content to persuade viewers to visit your website and take the desired action.
13) Customer Service
Many startups these days outperform large companies by delivering outstanding customer service. At the same time, there are many instances when awful customer service damaged the reputation and credibility of startups in hours. In 2023, you can promote customer loyalty and beat the competition simultaneously by leveraging customer service as a new-age marketing channel.
While implementing digital marketing strategies for startups, you must focus on keeping in place a multichannel customer service program. The program will enable every customer to solve problems and avail assistance using her choice of customer service channel. Also, you can enable customers to solve problems on their own by adding blogs, FAQ pages, and knowledge bases to your website.
Your startup can achieve and sustain growth in 2023 only by implementing a slew of digital marketing strategies. But you must remember that digital marketing trends change at regular intervals. Hence, your strategies for startups must focus on monitoring and boosting the performance of individual campaigns continuously. You must not evaluate the performance of every digital marketing campaign using the same metrics or KPIs.
For instance, you cannot use the same set of metrics to measure the impact of SEO and social media marketing activities accurately. Your digital marketing strategies for startups must clearly define the metrics for measuring the performance of individual marketing campaigns. The monitoring will help you to make the digital marketing strategies more impactful in 2023 by adopting emerging trends and implementing necessary changes proactively.

EltaMD UV Daily Tinted Sunscreen with Zinc Oxide, boasting an SPF 40, is not just another sunscreen – it's a game-changer for those seeking a sheer, lightweight solution that provides comprehensive care for the skin.
Tumblr media
The Power of Zinc Oxide: A Natural Shield Against UVA and UVB Rays
At the heart of EltaMD UV Daily Tinted Sunscreen is the powerhouse ingredient Zinc Oxide. A natural mineral compound, Zinc Oxide acts as a formidable sunscreen agent by reflecting and scattering both UVA and UVB rays. This means that, with this sunscreen, you're not only getting broad-spectrum protection but also a gentle and effective shield against the sun's harmful rays.
Hyaluronic Acid: Your Skin's Hydration Ally
One of the standout features of this sunscreen is its infusion with Hyaluronic Acid. Known for its exceptional ability to retain moisture, Hyaluronic Acid helps improve the skin's feel by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness. This is particularly beneficial for those with dehydrated and mature skin, making EltaMD UV Daily a go-to solution for daily hydration and protection.
Tumblr media
Vitamin E: The Antioxidant Defender
Another key player in this sunscreen's formula is Tocopheryl Acetate, a form of Vitamin E. Renowned for its antioxidant properties, Vitamin E helps combat free radicals that contribute to the visible signs of aging. By incorporating this powerhouse ingredient, EltaMD UV Daily goes beyond mere sun protection, actively working to diminish the signs of aging for a more youthful and radiant complexion.
Non-Greasy, Tinted, and Fragrance-Free: A Delight for the Senses
EltaMD UV Daily Tinted Sunscreen stands out not just for its potent ingredients but also for its luxurious feel on the skin. The non-greasy formula absorbs quickly, leaving no white cast – a common concern with many sunscreens. The tinted variant adds a touch of color, providing a subtle, even tone that can be worn alone or as a base for makeup.

Sun Protection Measures: While EltaMD UV Daily offers excellent protection, it's important to complement it with other sun protection measures. Limit your time in the sun, especially between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and consider wearing long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses for added defense.
Consultation for Children: If you plan to use this sunscreen on children under 6 months, it's advisable to consult a physician before application.

Yes, it's generally considered safe to take two different homeopathic remedies at the same time, although it's important to follow certain guidelines and considerations.
Homeopathy operates on the principle of using highly diluted substances to stimulate the body's natural healing abilities. Remedies are chosen based on the individual's specific symptoms and the principle of "like cures like." Unlike conventional medicine, homeopathic remedies are highly diluted and generally have minimal side effects.
When considering taking multiple homeopathic remedies simultaneously, it's crucial to ensure that they're compatible and suit your specific symptoms. Homeopathy focuses on individualized treatment, so the remedies should complement each other without causing any adverse reactions. Consulting with a qualified homeopathic practitioner or a healthcare professional well-versed in homeopathy is recommended to ensure the remedies chosen are appropriate for your condition and won't counteract each other's effects.
Additionally, maintaining a gap between taking different remedies is advisable. This gap allows the body to respond to each remedy separately and helps in evaluating their effects accurately. It's recommended to wait at least 10-15 minutes between taking different remedies.
Furthermore, certain factors like the potency of the remedies, the frequency of dosage, and the severity of symptoms should be taken into account. Potencies refer to the dilution levels of the remedies, and higher potencies may require less frequent dosing. Following the prescribed dosage and potency instructions is essential for optimal results.
While combining homeopathic remedies is generally considered safe, it's crucial to inform your healthcare provider about all the remedies, supplements, or medications you are taking to prevent any potential interactions or unwanted effects.
In conclusion, taking two different homeopathic remedies concurrently can be safe when done under proper guidance and considering individual symptoms. Consulting a qualified homeopathic practitioner or healthcare professional is essential to ensure the remedies are compatible, appropriate, and administered correctly for your specific condition.
