Another smp means another post about how to actually start watching it. This times it's Pirates SMP

As a joke we've said we want to call the Tumblr fandom scurvyblr like how rats is squeaksblr here so do what you will with that information

(I'll make an updated version as we get the members until a final big post with everything you need to know!)

From what we know the smp takes place on a place called 'The faction isles'

From there we have 4 different factions and traits associated with them!

Kites: This faction seeks the thrill of battle, and sails the high seas looking for worthy opponents, be that sea creatures, the navy, or even other pirates.

Kestrels: Kestrels believe that the key to happiness is wealth, and will do anything to earn a few more doubloons. They live lavishly and enjoy the finer things in life.

Nightingales: The goal of a Nightingale is to chase adventure wherever it takes you, and to do it alongside one's guild. They focus on the journey, and the expansion of their home in the pirate isles.

Herons: Making an impact and leaving behind a legacy is best done in the eyes of a Heron by discovery, unearthing rare monuments, and being credited for those discoveries, is paramount to their success.

Here are our first few revealed members. Most likely like rats smp this will be streamed on twitch and some members will make YouTube videos!

A Warrior's Spirit

You are awake when he tries to slide into the bed and not wake you, he had been leading one of the training exercises for the potential ARC troopers that ran late into the night.  Most of the time it worked, at some point in the night he would slip in and wrap you in his strong arms and you wouldn’t wake until morning. Well, it worked all of the time except when you were already awake. 

You turn towards him with a quiet sigh of his name.

“Cyare, you should be asleep,” his voice somewhere between a grumble and a murmur. 

“I was, until your kid decided to use my bladder as a punching bag,” you pout, snuggling your face to his chest. He smells of fresh soap. 

“So now it’s my kid?” He teases in a low murmur. 

“Well, I can’t punch like that,” you reason, your face still buried against his broad chest. 

Alpha lifts your hand to his lips, kissing your knuckles. “We’ll have to fix that later, then” he answers.  

After several long minutes of him holding you, he kisses the top of your head before shifting until he was able to gently kiss your stomach, then as he strokes the side of your stomach soothingly he begins speaking to the baby. 

“Udesii, ad’ika,” he says. “Gar buir cuyir haryc.”

As usual, the baby calms at the rumble of their father’s voice as you relax automatically with his presence. 

“Ca’nara nuhoyir, verd’ika.  Akaanir naka’tuur,” then he began to sing “Vode An” and then his remembrances as a lullaby.  Quieter, but his voice still carries the power of the full chant.

You reach down to run your fingers through his hair, still damp from the shower, and remember his answer when you had asked about his unconventional lullaby.  

“It doesn’t matter what they do with their life, what they decide to become. A legacy of strength and a warrior’s spirit will help them.” He had answered. 

You quickly fall off to sleep to the comforting sound of his voice.  

Mando'a Translation: “Udesii, ad’ika,” he says. “Gar buir cuyir haryc.” -"Calm down, little one," He says. "Your (Parent/Mother) is tired"

So many kid's toys these days just. Arn't fun. They're designed to be COLLECTED rather than PLAYED with. Everything is a fucking blindbag. Materials are flimsy and cheap and designs don't hold up to an actual child throwing them around. And it's all so EXPENSIVE, even accounting for inflation.

To expand on my thoughts here, I'm unrolling a Twitter thread I made about this trend. (with some additions)

The Big H's handling of mainline figs is... distressing, of late. Very little push for show mains, oversupport of already saturated legacy characters, and some frankly unsettling engineering and materials choices (esp in Cyberverse).

Increase in overall fragility, thinner parts, styrene-on-styrene joints that will go floppy in a few months of light play, very little "clicks" or locks solidly... the passion is clearly in the collector's end, and that's just bass ackwards.

This repugnus would have been amazing triumph from Mego in 1970s. But for a mainline big H TF line in the 2020s? This is a backslide. And before anyone brings up that it's from the kids' line, that's the point. They're KIDS, they should get MORE care and effort in their merch.

Every toy you make might be a kid's only birthday gift or holiday present. Toys are /given/ to children, and if the work is subpar, you make a chump out of grandma. You won't be there to blame if it breaks or disappoints.

It seriously drives me nuts seeing how far the stuff-for-kids industries have fallen. There's no brands without the work, but as the poet DMX said: "these cats done forgot what work is."

All your blockbuster superhero empires start in the pulp gutters. Compared to the movies toys, games and comics will never be profitable ENOUGH to be worth it on a billion-dollar scale ledger.

"Give me mighty oaks! There's no profit in acorns!"

If you want the stuff that makes the Michael Bay blockbuster, you have to start with the stupid goofy cartoon no one had seen before where anxiety over the oil crisis was acted out by robotic Punch and Judy puppets. How many studios would greenlight TMNT or TF sight unseen today?

If you make toys and cartoons and video games, your job is to make kids happy. How is that not sacred? If anything is sacred it should be that.

Art is the act of evoking emotion, and fun is an emotion (what else could it be described as?) and it is SO IMPORTANT.

I fear that gets lost in the "what to do over next?" rush. Every artist at those companies has a dozen amazing ideas in their back pocket that won't get a chance to become the next Transformers because a studio is terrified they'll make Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors instead.

Since the world is run by Captain Planet villains, I wouldn't bat an eye if we found out venture capital was a ploy by some disgruntled warlock who just hates the goddamn Care Bears.

Just some dick at Bear Sterns singing "There's no room for joy on a spreadsheet" to a weaselly sidekick.

Cuz guys, we've got companies that make GAMES for CHILDREN hiring the Pinkertons. I repeat. Games. For. Children. That's not normal. That's not a normal thing. That is a very disturbing thing.

And its hard to even discuss without sounding like a frickin' Care Bear myself. Because how do you sum up the creeping dread that the support beams are being mined thin, and everything fun for kids will go the way of Toys-R-Us, dragged down like Artax.

I'm not advocating pure altruism here. There's plenty of money to be made giving kids an awesome experience. It's investing in future fandom. Real Brand loyalty. If you want the blockbuster 15 years from now, get them hooked on the fun cartoon now. The value-add always pays off.

For every Transformers or He-Man there's going to be several Robotix-es or Power Lords. That's a risk. A risk worth taking. New ideas should be easier and cheaper to bring to fruition now than ever. But the system won't let it happen.

Is there any pressure?

No pressure at all. Fill one prompt. Fill all the prompts on for the month. Do however many you please.

Can I fill more than one prompt with one piece of art/one fic?

Yes! You can fill one prompt with one piece of art or fic. You can try to fill all 30 prompts at once with one piece of art or fic. If you can fill every single prompt from every single day in one fill, that’d be wild but it’s okay by the rules. You can do any number in between.

Are there any prizes for making anything for this event?

Just the satisfaction that you made something cool.

Should the work I make be Sam Wilson-centric?

Yes. You can make a gen work or a piece with any ship with Sam Wilson in it, but the main focus should be Sam Wilson.

How long will this event run?

It will run from September 1st to September 30th.

What are the guidelines for the event?

I will be borrowing some of this from the MYSU Valentine’s Day Bingo 2022 Guidelines, since they were fantastic.

For Everyone:

1. Remember to tag @samsseptember in the post as well as #samtember2023.

2. Please also tag the prompt you’re using (for instance, if the square is “Redwing”, use “#redwing” as one of your tags when posting about it on Tumblr).

3. If you’re uploading to AO3, please:

a ) Say somewhere which prompt you’re filling.

b ) Add it to The Samtember Collection (under Samtember2023).

For Artists:

1. Create at least one piece of new art that can’t have been posted anywhere else before this.

2. All visual art forms are welcome:

Things to be mindful of when creating:

For Sam

Avoid framing Sam only as a caretaker or emotional support for Bucky. Be mindful of Sam acting angry or aggressive in an out-of-character way and falling into the angry/sassy Black man trope (check out the MCU source material to help with character traits).

Avoid decentering Sam as a main character and refrain from focusing entirely on Bucky.

In art: avoid whitewashing Sam’s skin and research drawing Black characters.

General disclaimer: Race affects every aspect of his life, including interacting with police/government and the white structures of the world when it comes to performing his duties as Cap and simply being a Black man that lives in the U.S.

THE BIG POLL, ROUND ZERO, REPLACE BLADE BRAVE!!!!!

Beautiful show it is, Kamen Rider Blade must come to an end soon. I will cry. But the world must move on.

And I decided to make this one an anime poll, since some of the legacy options from the very first poll ended up being much longer than the rest. SO! This is all shows between 20-50 episodes, around the same length as a Rider show!

Agatha Christie’s Great Detectives Poirot and Marple - A young detective related to famous detective Miss Marple joins other famous detective Hercule Poirot as his assistant and learns from these two legendry mentors to solve murders. I love detective shows but I'm not too familiar with Poirot and Miss Marple so maybe the show could serve as an introduction to them. It seems cozy but compelling! The lead writer worked on a bunch of the big popular serieses (Pokemon Sun & Moon, Fairy Tail, Death Note, and Anpanman). This one's a legacy inclusion!

Blue Gender - A man from the modern day with a strange illness goes into cryosleep and wakes up in a destroed earth where mechs and aliens fight and there is a cool tall woman who has a mech. It has gore, mechs which I do need to see more of, but it's a military series. Space's also listed in the genre stuff which...is that a spoiler, do they go to space? 26 episodes, so it's on the longer side, less diligence may apply. This one's a legacy inclusion!

Dirty Pair - 80s anime, two Hotted Boobhaving space agents fight and bicker their way through the galaxy in a distinctly 'two bi women constantly getting divorced' vibe. I don't remember if this one is a legacy inclusion, but it's a famous show!

Scrapped Princess - Fantasy setting, A local white girl doomed to destroy the world and her adoptive siblings travel the world to avoid her devastating fate. also... There's mechs?? Wikipedia tells me it’s a lighthearted but mournful show that uses Clarke’s third law to bridge the gap between scifi and high fantasy. This one was handpicked by a dear friend!

Texhnolyze - by the creators of Serial Experiments Lain, it’s a show that seems similarly angsty and cerebral but much grimier. A boxer gets dismembered, cyborgized, and possibly radicalized deep in the bowels of a city that never sees the sun. ALSO GACKT IS THERE?

R.O.D. READ OR DIE -THE TV- - a potentially jojoish, gay little show about a novelist with a heady mix of hubris and self-loathing and three bibliophile sisters with Paper Abilities fighting various goons and also Britain. It seems like a romp!

Captain Earth - In the vein of Super Sentai (sadly without the precious masks), a color coded group of teens that seems to include a Yaoibait Kaworu fight aliens on behalf of NASA, with a robot that has a REALLY big hat. Supposedly it’s got a lot of intellectual depth!

RahXephon - the second name on everyone’s lips when someone says Evangelion Rip-off, after Darling in the Franxx. Mechs that are blatantly angels, a JSDF, and blue-blooded men in black. I tried a bit, and it’s got a great capture of humanity in times of crisis and such a beautifully 2000s aesthetic.

Devilman Lady - what if you were Devilman and a Lady??? What if there was a blond woman and you were a beast and there was all this blood and violence. Psychological, grungy, and gorgeously 90s. And it's a yuri!!!

Chrno Crusade - Cisgender Bridget and a devilboy (no relation to devilman or devilmanlady) do exorcisms for an order of nuns in 1929 New Yawk Citay. It's a het romance, full of bumbling and comedy and period era ghostbustiness. Also for some reason in a lot of the art (like this one) Chrno is whitewashed?

A Precure - I've seen Kamen Riders, Super Sentais, an Ultraman, but I've not seen the sister show to them all; Pretty Cure! SO clearly I need to, and if this one doesn't win it'll flood the poll to replace Ryuki. These options are suggestions; might be others.

Sirius made a hand shake with the kid. Nigel. This second year was the next prankster progity according to James. It had been last term than Nigel and his friends began making pranks that impressed the Marauders. They were kind of jealous of the new counter pranksters and worried of losing their touch. Then they discovered it was Nigel and his group.

James became friends with Nigel for whatever reason. And now they were very close. James said they might need to consider leaving their legacy to younger kids, since they were graduating this year. But Sirius didn't want to think about that. He didn't want to grow up and stop doing pranks.

Today, Nigel look sad and lost. He reminded Sirius of himself back in the summer after he left Grimmauld Place.

"Hey, have you seen James?" Nigel asked, hugging himself.

"He is probably snogging his girlfriend somewhere" Sirius rolled his eyes without thinking about it. Not even him, James's best friend, had seen much of him. Ever he became a Head Boy, Rugby Captain and The Ginger's boyfriend, he barely have time anymore. That was why Sirius had been spending more and more time with Remus. He loved Moony, perhaps he had been developing feelings for him. Feelings that scared him. But he missed James. His Prongsie. His best friend. His soulmate.

Sirius didn't know how to tell him everything that had been happening lately. All the negative thoughts about himself and his life. He was too embarrassed.

And apparently Sirius wasn't the only one who needed James. Nigel looked sad.

"Are you okay, mate?" Sirius asked

"Yeah, I just wanted to talk to him about something" Nigel scratched his head.

James had become the confident of lots of Gryffindor students since he became Head Boy. Sirius wasn’t the only one James could help. He needed to stop being selfish and a jealous wanker.

"Do you want to talk to me? Maybe I can help you"

Nigel looked at Sirius considering it. Even though Nigel spent lots of time in the Marauders' dorm, playing with James's video games, and Sirius was impressed with the kid, he wasn't good with these things. James was the perfect shoulder to cry on. Sirius knew that first hand. There were so many things he wanted to tell his best friend and didn't know how.

"Nah, it's okay. I rather talk with him..." As soon as he said this, his eyes glowed seeing something behind Sirius. "James!"

Sirius turned to see the man of the hour and Lily behind him climbing through the Portrait Hole.

"Nigy... Nigy..." James beamed, hitting the boy's palm. "What's up, man?"

"Hey" Nigel was smiling now "Hey Lily"

"Hello, darling" Lily smiled.

"Prongs! Nigel here wanted to speak with you" Sirius said, crossing his arms. When did they break apart? Sirius and James used to be inseparable. Sirius felt he was losing him. They were distant and cold. James was holding Lily's hand. Not even looking at Sirius. Sirius felt that girl was taking his best friend away. And that pissed him off.

"Yeah?" James ruffled Nigel's hair "Is it about another prank?"

"A prank?" Lily asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Did I say prank?" James asked innocently "I meant... Frank... Do you like Frank?"

Lily pursed her lips. But it was obvious she wanted to laugh.

"Who is Frank?" Nigel asked.

"Frank! Frank Longbottom? Our mate..." James sighed "Never mind"

"I actually wanted to talk about something else" Nigel said nervously "Alone please?"

James immediately adopted his worried expression of a father. The one that had used with Sirius many times. He nodded.

"Dorm is empty, Pads?" James asked, making Sirius blink in surprise.

"Yeah"

"Okay, let's talk there" James said and Nigel nodded. But James stopped on his tracks to say something else.

"Wait... Wait... Before we go... Who is this hot stuff??" James asked grabbing Lily's head and kissing her lips "Oh yes, my girlfriend..." he grinned.

Lily giggled with her cheeks flustered. Nigel tutted with a smile and Sirius pursed his lips.

"And wait... Wait... Who is this other hot stuff?" James said now kissing Sirius’s cheek, taking him by surprise. "My best friend!" he added squeezing his chin. "All good, handsome?"

Sirius raised an eyebrow "Yeah, brilliant"

Then he smiled because he was so happy that James was treating him like before. He missed how he joked flirted with each other.

"Okay, now let's go, Nigy" James said taking Nigel's shoulders and leading him to the stairs.

Sirius and Lily watched them go with similar smiles on their faces.

"Should we get beer for our chat?" Nigel asked as they climbed up.

"Nice try, mate"

Sirius realized that Evans had a foolish lover look on her face. She was looking at James as she could have melted right there.

"Isn't he great?" she asked with a sigh. Perhaps the ginger fancied James more than Sirius thought. But still there was something about her that Sirius couldn't stand.

"Watch it, Ginger. You're drooling"

Lily pursed her lips but she was red as a tomato.

"Moony?"

"Try the Library" Lily crossed her arms.

Sirius gave her one nod, before walking away. When Lily spoke.

"Maybe you should try opening up to James. Like Nigel does"

Then Sirius remembered why he didn't stand this girl. She was too nosy. And God knows what James had told her about him. It was none of her business.

"He is your best friend, Sirius. Maybe he can help"

Sirius was so scared of losing James. So scared of James judging him or seeing him differently. Sirius loved him. Perhaps more than anyone in this world.

So Sirius walked away without responding. He'd find a way to talk to James.

USAF's first female fighter pilot retires

The career of an Air Force pioneer came to an end this weekend, when Maj. Gen. Jeannie M. Leavitt, the first female fighter pilot of the U.S. Air Force (USAF), retired after 31 years of military career.

Leavitt's retirement ceremony took place at Scott Air Base, Illinois, on September 23. The head of the U.S. Transportation Command, General Jacqueline D. Van Ovost - one of the only three women who have ever led a command of a combat squad - officiated and reminded all those present of the legacy that Leavitt created.

“[Jeannie] had to deal with a constant demand to be in the spotlight, because of her many premieres, something that does not represent who Jeannie is,” Van Ovost said. "She prefers to stay behind, behind the scenes to guide and educate. Taking care of people and the mission - [this is] the true purpose behind his continuous dedication to service."

Leavitt's journey in the U.S. Air Force was, in fact, marked by numerous "innovations", challenging preconceived notions about the roles that women could play in the armed forces. She was the first woman to join USAF fighter pilot training in 1993. Later, she made history as the first female fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. She was also the first woman to command a combat fighter wing, the 57ª Wing at Nellis Air Base, Nevada.

Throughout her career, she has accumulated more than 3,000 flight hours, including operational missions such as Southern Watch, Northern Watch, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Most of his experience was on the F-15E Strike Eagle.

Van Ovost reflected on the obstacles encountered by women in combat functions during the early 1990s, noting that simply changing policies was not enough. Gaining acceptance and recognition were separate struggles, she added, and Leavitt played a key role during a period of significant change, breaking down barriers that had long kept women out of combat pilot roles.

Throughout her career, Leavitt was a strong advocate for women in aviation and encouraged young women to pursue careers in the Air Force and aviation - four of these pilots appeared in a tribute video during the ceremony.

His commitment to challenging stereotypes went beyond the military, as he collaborated with Disney on the film 'Captain Marvel' to narrate his journey in the U.S. Air Force and share a more accurate portrait of a lifetime dedicated to service. However, Leavitt's aspirations were never just about personal fulfillment, Van Ovost said.

"On behalf of all those who have traveled by your side and behind you, thank you for having the courageous character necessary to open new paths for others to follow," said Van Ovost.

Leavitt's final mission was as head of the Air Force Security Center, overseeing the entire program and policy of aviation, occupational, weapons, space and accident prevention and nuclear safety system of the Air Force Department.

essay - the kids (and 30 year olds) are alright; how the carabao cup final embodies klopp's vision

There are certain games that serve as an encapsulation of a manager’s vision and influence and last Sunday’s Carabao Cup Final was certainly one of them. While the circumstances of the match were far, far, from perfect, it resulted in a perfect microcosm of Klopp’s vision and what legacy he leaves. Needless to say, the main thing on people’s minds was Liverpool’s massive list of injuries. Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Szoboszlai, Jones, Nunez, Salah, Jota. Everytime you thought the list was over, there was another name. And so, Klopp and Liverpool had to adapt.

While the “Klopp’s Kids” narrative is certainly true and worthy of all the praise in the world, so are those opposite the youngsters. A group of children were thrown into the deep end that is the Carabao Cup Final, the names of which were unknown to people outside of Liverpool circles. Amongst the youngsters, Jarell Quansah has the most appearances at a whopping 8. Bobby Clark has 5, James McConnell has 3 and Jayden Danns was playing in his second ever game. When you throw children in the deep end, you need people to guide them. That came in the form of the two perfect encapsulations of Klopp’s tenure and transfers: Virgil van Dijk and Waturu Endo.

Under Klopp, Liverpool have mainly made 2 types of transfer deals. The first is splashing big money on proven players that generally operate within the spine of the team. The second is buying under the radar talent for cheap. Virgil van Dijk embodies the first better then anyway else, aside from possibly Alisson. Bought for 75 million, he arrived in the winter of 2018, as Liverpool waved farewell to Barca-bound Phil Coutinho. He was desperately needed, as Liverpool was a goal-scoring machine, but leakey defensively. A world record fee for a defender (at the time), he made his debut in the FA Cup against Everton and scored the winner (obviously a header) late on. The rest is history. Van Dijk has proved to be worth more then every single cent paid for him, and not just because of his defensive abilities. Even before he became captain, he was clearly a leader on the team and had good relationships with everyone, especially his defensive mates. That kind of leadership is what makes him truly invaluable.

Endo, despite having just arrived, has already been a success and has the makings of a legend. The Japan captain was signed in the aftermath of failed attempts to get Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia. In the end, both went to Chelsea for absurd sums, and Liverpool were left without a DM. With the Premier League season alreacy underway, Liverpool bought Waturu Endo from Stuttgart for 16 million. The move was met with skeptcism. It’s probably fair to say most Liverpool fans aren’t well versed with Stuttgart and people were frustrated after the failure to sign Caicedo and Lavia. Endo was not as flashy as they were and he was much older, sitting at 30. In his arrival video, Jurgen Klopp greets him by telling him “...we really need you. We need you and your heart and your legs and your football ability and your football brain.” It’s safe to say, Endo has delivered on everything asked of him, plus some extra. A lot of extra. In a season where Liverpool’s incoming midfield signings included Brighton star and World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister, and Hungary captain and highly rated Red Bull graduate Dominik Szoboszlai, Endo’s performance is all the more impressive. And he’s doing it at a fraction of what was paid for Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, who have both justified their own transfer fees. 

Back to the original point, van Dijk and Endo were tasked with providing defensive stability, to allow the kids to have more freedom. Indeed, both gave Man of the Match performances, even well into extra time. Their grit and steadfastness allowed the younger players to go forward without fear. This confidence caught Chelsea off-guard, and rightly so. You may have seen Chelsea fans (and certain other fanbases) point out that Chelsea’s squad had a younger average age by the end of the match than Liverpool. This is being used in an attempt to dismiss the impact of Liverpool’s youngsters. This is also a stupid argument. Firstly, Liverpool’s average age was raised by the aforementioned Virgil van Dijk and Waturu Endo, along with Andy Robertson. Secondly, this ignores the true meaning behind the praise of Klop’s Kids. They aren’t praised solely for being young; rather, they’re academy graduates making their mark in a team full of stars. While there are also debates and arguments about how truly homegrown these kids are, the undeniable truth is that Liverpool has become one of the best clubs to be a young player in. 

It’s hard to pick one, singular best thing that Klopp will leave behind, but after Sunday’s final, I’m tempted to declare that it’s his impact on Liverpool’s academy. It all started with Trent Alexander-Arnold and his eventual promotion to the first team. Alexander-Arnold has played nearly his entire senior career at Liverpool under Klopp, and it shows. The marriage of his natural footballing talent, namely his passing and vision with Klopp’s tactics and mentality has made Alexander-Arnold a star. And he’s been like this for a while. Despite losing the 2018 Champions League Final, he kept Ronaldo in his pocket that whole night, at age 19. Over the next few seasons, he continued to shine brighter. However, the 2022-2023 season saw many difficulties for him, compounded by Liverpool being nothing short of miserable. 

But there are almost no signs of his struggles last season. In fact, Trent has stood out this season, both as a Liverpool and England player. His new role as a hybrid rightback/midfielder has paid off. He rescued a point against Manchester City in November and proceeded to score the winner against Fulham not long after.

Trent’s rise was likely a message to Liverpool academy kids that “Yes, you can do it. There is a way. It’s hard, but it’s possible.” For many years, Liverpool’s academy was mocked and derided. There were occasional sparks of talent, but nothing consistent. Now, however, everytime Liverpool play a new 17 year old appears on the bench. When he comes on, people think, “OK, they’re injured and desperate. He’ll be overwhelmed.” And then the kid precedes to score a goal or make a game-saving tackle. 

But the best part of it all is how these kids are treated. Whether they score a brace or misplace a pass, the older players offer nothing but encouragement and love. When Jarell Quansah started against Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup, Virgil van Dijk traveled with them to support the team, despite the terrible weather. He wasn’t even in the squad. Guidance, comfort, praise, encouragement, are constant. And it comes from some of the best in the world at their positions. Players, such as Alisson, van Dijk and Salah, who will go down as legends, not just for Liverpool, but as all-timers in their respective positions. It comes from the likes of Curtis Jones and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool boys who understand the academy kids, perhaps better then anyone. It comes from World Cup winner, Alexis Mac Allister and chaos king Darwin Nunez.

Klopp’s influence will live in every one of the players he has coached, especially the ones who are young. While some things will change when the new manager arrives, the Klopp mentality has become synonymous with Liverpool and will live on in the young players who will, one day, become stars,

We know that his last England match was in summer 2016, at the Euros. We also know (from 3.02) that his departure came as a shocker to the club and the press, that Roy decided to leave because he had realised he couldn’t keep up even if it wasn’t obvious to others yet, and that it was a few months between that realisation and when he actually left.

I’m more inclined to say 2016-2017 was his last season just because I’m not sure if he would have stayed with the England team if he had been in a state of mind where he thought he wasn’t “good enough” anymore. And after the Euros, getting dropped from the new post-2016 Southgate national team might have contributed to his "I can’t keep up” realisation.

BUT. Maybe 2015-2016 was his last season and he felt like he had to stay at least through the Euros because he was one of the staples of the team by then, and then it ended in a disastrous loss.

For what it’s worth, Chelsea won the League title in 2017, so if you want to take that into account it could be played either way. On the one hand, I think it would have been less of a shock than leaving in 2016 —  a beloved long-serving captain moving on after a successful season, quitting while he’s very much ahead kind of makes sense? But I can also see how that would have shocked the fans especially if the club had made clear they wanted to retain him.

But also if he’d left in 2017 you could have the angst of 1) leading his longtime club to a trophy he feels like kind of a fraud for lifting and 2) moving to Richmond (still west london) when he could probably have gone anywhere, and having to constantly fail to measure up to his own legacy.

As I said in the most recent video about what the BDS is actually asking us to do, when it comes to pressure boycotts it’s about showing the company that people who oppose this genocide still want this product so they have an incentive to actually change business practices. On tiktok I have almost 20k followers on here I have about 100. I’m nothing but an advertisement on tiktok because of my platform and the nature of the app. I have no platform here but also the culture of tumblr doesn’t make me reblogging a comic cover an endorsement of the product. Also like the divide between fandom bullshit and politic posts on tumblr is nothing. A lot of us have a set it and forget mindset when it comes to boycotts but like this is a pressure boycott we need to talk about it. I’m not buying comics anymore but I’m still writing letters to marvel comics asking them about their stance in this genocide. Obviously they’re not answering them, but it feels like doing something. I think the best thing to do in this time is to pirate marvel content, comics movies tv shows etc. well really the best thing to do is switch to indie comics but I don’t have any money to buy them lmao. I do believe that marvel comics has been used to tell important political stories in the past, Jack Kirby did not kill nazis for us to write his work and legacy off as pure bigotry, and I believe they can be radical again. We’ve got to talk about the way the mcu has twister and contorted the comic characters to fit into their war propaganda. I don’t think literary analysis and critical thought are limited to writing argumentative essays, I think fandom can be a way to analyze media. It rarely does but it can.

I’ve chosen to not talk about marvel at all until Sabra is removed from Captain America 4 but I know others are talking about back issues and things out of print and actively encouraging pirating, showing that there are ways to engage with these politics presented by the comics without giving marvel your money. A lot of people are replacing Starbucks and McDonalds with other brands or at home recipes and that’s what I consider fanfic and pirating right now. Look at Star Trek, fans can save an entire franchise. Look at the sequel rewrites in Star Wars after bigoted fan backlash, we can also change franchises too. If we work collectively and scream loud enough, maybe we can change marvel for the better. I don’t think the solution in this time is to stop being a fan because Disney and Marvel will always exist, this is why the BDS has called for a pressure boycott on Disney not a no buy boycott, but it’s time to use the collective fan community to demand change.

So, yeah. Could be that they kill Captain Price in Modern Warfare Three. I think, in it's own way it would kind of make sense. By this point in the original trilogy, Gaz, Ghost, and Roach (who hasn't appeared/may not appear in the reboot) would have already been dead, and in MW3-2011 we lost Soap. I think it's perfectly possible that their flipping the story and leaving the others alive to carry on Price's legacy.

Or maybe they're going to kill them all, who knows. Activision is pretty bloodthirsty when it comes to video game characters.

Again, keep in mind these are my OWN speculations, and these are from MW2's season five battle pass. This could mean nothing, this could just be Activision having a laugh and gaslighting us.

the boys met during a training camp. they had definitely known each other vaguely but that training camp was the first time they really met each other and bonded instantly. they became an inseparable group and teams knew it would be an advantage to have them on their team

when draft day happens, they all obviously don’t get drafted into the same team instantly. remus is actually the year after because he wanted to stay in school a little longer to finish his degree before he got drafted. he ends up on the same team as james, and sirius joins after getting traded after a year or so
