Big fckn redesigns here. Well mostly Charlie but Vaggie somewhat too 🥰🥰

Blue fits Charlie soooo much and I cease to see that many redesigns with this color. I still want red to be used in most of their designs because well. They are in hell, but not too present so to make way for other unique colors. Charlie has several physical traits from her parents but also she has some details in her clothes that match with them. When I uhh, introduce their designs you'll see lmao. I also tried to make her have a more roundish design, I jst LOVE those typ of designs omg. I just want the characters with not too many sharp corners pls Viv bro... 😔 oh yeah she's mixed cuz her mom's are darker in their redesigns. Alot of their genetics went down to Charlie so she doesn't look like an exact copy of Lucifer, I kind of hate that trend with hh and hb characters, like did the moxxies dad give birth to him bro 😭 also I kept her bow because it looks so cute and silly on her it just fits, I wish they made it bigger in her show design because it would fit her silliness so much. She has a cape with stars because morningSTAR smh why didnt they do something fun with that, missed potential but whatevs yknow I still love og designs no matter what anyone sayss. Did you know I love Charlie, I could ramble for days. I think I love Charlie guys. Maybe jst a hunch idk... also... s-snake fangs.. jeepers anddd..... snake tongue.... shiver me timberz

The wife ever. I had animation in mind more when I designed her, not like in a "How easy or hard would this be to animate" way. But I like to imagine when she's shocked her hair kind of fluffs out plus her actual fluff, when she's mad her bow turns into kind of horns and then her jacket expands like wings. Gave her a more hotel like outfit, she likes to work for fun (ew). Her socks are socks but she has some fluff under them she just tries to cover it up because she hates herself 🤪 (she doesn't hate her bigger body she actually feels much more comfortable chubby than when she was skinny with Adam. She was burdened with the weight of Adam's image of women... In this sorta rewrite she gained weight when she goes to the hotel because she's more happy. I'm dying I love chub Vaggie so much guys please) headcanon: she kind of likes fashion, it's like a fun hobby of hers to stitch together clothing and go out and buy clothes she'll never wear. She taught Charlie how to stitch and she SUCKS so you can jst see it on Charlie's pants.

Second outfits! Charlie's hotel uniform for. Well. Hotel stuff. She usually only wears it when new people come to the hotel, which.... isn't often, if at all. She still likes to keep it just in case. Also she goes really cartoonish when it happens, she does the looney tunes run and changes into her clothes in like 2 seconds. Can you see my vision? 😭😭

Vaggie's is in her armor. She has several pairs of armor lying around in the hotel in completely hidden spots. It's kind of surprising uhh. Yeah she wears it alot more than Charlie wears her alt uniform but still rare to find her in it. I don't get the whole thing with the exterminators and them not being able to fight according to Carmilla. Which is kinda stupid, I'm not gonna lie. So, instead of that, Vaggie has just let her guard down and has gotten much more comfortable in her surroundings so she feels like she doesn't need to fight anymore, she's just gotten rusty 's what I'm sayin. I have no idea how to draw armor. You can tell...

Kung Fu Panda 4-All the budget went to the animation (spoilers)

Hey all, its me, the guy who everyday make a tour around this site but almost never talk. How are ya?

Two days ago something arrived to the cinema's screens, something that me and everyone were waiting for since 2018, the fourth film and the begginig of the new kung fu panda triology.

You know? When I sat on that theather seat with my friends to see what Dreamworks had prepared for us, I told myself; "Maybe that post I made a while ago throwing shit at what seemed like Kfp 4 was going to be was a bit hard, I hope I can come out regretting what I said that time"

And as soon as the credits ended, it was clear to me, I dont regret a shit. Maybe it was a little exaggerated, compared to what a megamind fan would think about the terrible sequel they made, but still: the film is crappy and boring most of the time. But why?

I'm going to explain some points.

1- Po? Is that you?

I don't know you guys, but i don't think the panda we knew in the end of the third film is the same as this one. Seriously, he share more comparisons with the Po from the legend of awessonless than the one from the films, maybe its a personal thing but it feels that way. At least in the beggining of the film feel like that.

And I don't know what he was thinking about when he decided to follow a thief he doesn't know at all and who tried to steal in his own palace, and that suspiciously know who is the chameleon, whose were her plans, her past, where she lived, where exacly they had to pass through avoiding all the guard inside her home, why the others thiefs of the city hate her so much... With Po's experience with criminals this is like a chef throwing water on a pan with boiling oil, it's obvious what is going to happen.

2- Zheng- Female Nick Wilde but without charisma or half of his intelligence.

I knew it from the first moment I saw Zheng's desing, the people who know me can corroborate that; her facial expressions, her tone while she talk, her animal race, her position as thief, her final when she is part of the justice same as the protagonist... it's clearer than water I think.

Everyone could say this is forgivable if she's smart, but surprise, she's not. This character is just an absurd try of this company for """"conect with infant audience""""(I don't know in what sense, I supose for the cute design, idk). But the point is, the supposed objective of the hollywood companies is give the new generetions better things than we got at their age, but what I see is laziness for write a decent scrip only for take an advantage of a known IP and make easy money. Even the children have quality standars, this is not the dragon warrior and of course this is not kung fu panda.

And talking about the dragon warrior, having our deep and lovely Tigress with her magnific development or Tai Lung back from the spirit realm... why in the hell this character exists?! Oh yeah, for being trending topic in twitter for three days. Yay...

3- The furious five and Shifu, for us : our pretty boys, and for Dreamworks: living jokes.

What made Kung Fu Panda what it is, is not the fucking panda, it's them. They're the inspiration for Po, their allies, the royale representation of kung fu and the ones which everything started with.

Po's a comic relief, and his mission is show his development in part using his humor, but the humor in this film barely works because of the lazy script. Something that even the talented Jack Black himself can't fix, beacuse his only role there is dublin his character, unlike the rest of the residents of the Jade Palace except Dustin Hoffman.

Seth Rogen (Mantis) himself even said that he wasn't even contact by Dreamworks in the first place, only for make a scream in the credits, that's sad beacause he really wanted to see Mantis on the screen. And I know and I understand that the five are expensive, but cmon, they could just simply change the voice actors and offset it with a good script but that's not the case of course. Their role in the film is being a counter for Po's constant jokes, for not to saturate the spectator with jokes, now that's not in there anymore, thank you Dreamworks.

4-The chameleoooohhn and her "motivation".

I can't say much, basically because out of her design she's nonsense. She says that because of her size, she was reyected for being a kung fu warrior.

Yeah of course but only one little thing, what about Shifu? Viper, a warrior without tips? Mantis, literally a dawn insect? Master Oogway, a TURTLE? The masters goose? C'mon even there's a fucking master chicken! Don't talk shit chameleon!

Her importance for the plot? Its almost a lie, the others villains had links to important characters; Tai Lung (with his link to Shifu's past), Shen (with his link to Po's past) or Kai (with his link to Oogway's past), all of them related to important characters. And her? To zheng's past and present I guess? But again, anyone know this character. She's like a villain from a Disney show, you know the type of villain who say a lot of things but at the end, she don't support nothing to the lore.

And her personality is like a mix of all the previous villains, and this sounds good right? HAHAH nope. Do you remember when as a child you mixed all the plasticines of all the colors to create the final color and you ended up with a color similar to poop? well that's exacly how her personality feels like.

5- Po's dads; the only reason they're there is because they ran out of characters to make the film.

The tittle itself tell everything, they don't do anything for the script in all the film, and their objective could be done since the start.

The script of the film except for the final looks like a draft which they didn't know how to complete, everyone who watch it can see it perfecly. The animation, the music and the backgrounds are the only things notable here.

6- Tai Lung and the cheapness nostalgia.

Fan service is not necesarry bad, above all if is used in a good way, they sold us Tai Lung as a miracle but his importance for the plot feels just like a Stan Lee cameo, I like Tai Lung I can say that. But this is too weak, Shen and Kai are only characters in the background who don't do nothing except being defeated or make facial expressions (I don't even joke that Shen would show respect to Po considering what we saw in the second movie, and Kai wasn't supposed to be destroyed as a spirit, what the hell is he doing here again? *sign* I'll to stop trying to make sense of this).

By the way, anyone else think that the dragon warrior role is understimated? I mean Shifu obligated Po to transfers the role to another one just because yes, i mean he only has been the dragon warrior for less than 5 years and now they want to replace him with a random. Everything just for at the end, he choosed a thief with at least 30 crimes registred and who was a traitor during the 75% of the movie.

7- The """""""""humor"""""""", except they forgot the parts where I must to laugh.

Seeing nonsense hits only beacuse yes stopped of being funny a long time ago, and no, I don't want to talk about the bunnies of the portrait because I would get sick. I had to go to the cinema drunk to endure the filler that the movie had, no joke, it was the only way to laugh at those jokes.

So I think about applying the same method as in any movie with bad jokes, ignoring the jokes. I tried to do the same thing but with the pace that the film managed, such a thing was impossible, the pace of the movie seems to be made for Tiktoker children with attention deficit. From the chaos in the quarry until Po takes the bitc... uhg fox out of prison, only 10 fucking minutes pass, all of that for what? So that you feel like the baseless information and the nonsensical plot that they tell us is of any use? they could simply make a non-canonical short and that's it, but no, yes or they were going to tell us a story written by rotten old men who spend the entire day watching Tik Tok. It's not going to be that the child who sees this doesn't get bored, we know that much today's children don't have many neurons as they say, but even to make movies for them you have to have a certain talent.

In some point at the beguining Po make a joke about the ausence of the furious five saying that at least he had them in cardboard posters, and this would be a good joke. Only if the stupid film could be prove that the franquise can do something memorable without the furious five, but again, that's not the case.

Don't have any respect for this movie, look what it had with you. I understand that it is enjoyable because of the animation but it does not go beyond that line, it destroys important things about the canon and spoils its teaching about the need for change by treating it in a terrible way.

Coclusion: KFP 4 is just another Po's adventure as Shifu says, it won't tell nothing to you or make you feel different, it's a shame but after Megamind 2 I imagined something like this. It's a dark era for film, expecially the animated one so like Scar said; Be prepare, there're worse things waiting for us.

Do you want something with real quality? You don't even need kung fu panda 1,2 or 3, for make it easy to this film let's take this marvelous example; kung fu panda: secrets of the scroll (2016). You'll say; "An animated short, this is not like-" Shhh Just watch it, you won't regret it.

If you think I'm wrong in something, just rewatch the film. And if still you aren't agreed with me, well, I respect you and I'm happy you like it. I wish I could love it as you do, but that doesn't mean that the movie isn't bad, because if you watch it with your brain on or remembering the previous movies it's terrible.

. Me? I've to write a story, I love you all. Except you, Dreamworks, I'm mad with you, expecially when you do this at the same day as Akira Toriyama's death :(

• He restrains himself from asking about the thread count and material and accepts them gratefully

• He is surprised they’re actually comfortable and avoids his family seeing him because he’s a little shy about wearing them, but it’s okay if it’s for you

• His face when he sees he matches Diavolo is priceless. Solomon snaps a photo, and it brings him out of his shock

• When Diavolo asks for pictures together, it makes his whole holiday. (He has the pictures framed)

• He’s forever grateful for these pajamas and keeps them safe (it’s almost bizarre how protective of them he becomes)

Barbatos

• He’s delighted and thanks you for your consideration of whether or not he’s comfortable in his sleep

• He loves them and imagine his surprise when he comes to serve Diavolo breakfast, and he’s wearing the same pajamas

• He enjoys seeing everyone match, especially Lucifer, red as a beet in the corner, avoiding the cameras

• He makes sure his pajamas aren’t dirtied and willingly takes pictures with everyone and helps Simeon with his own pictures so Luke can have a break trying to help

owns the most social kitty in the world- like dad like furbaby

has no qualms in making new friends be it cat, humans or even other animals

i headcanon kiri taking care of an old family dog, a sweet old doberman called rocky

kiri took him out for a walk one day, let him off at a dog park & he returns looking a little exasperated with a bright eyed bushy tailed little tortie glued to his side lmao

the size difference between the two is humorous but the cat is so unbothered, already so in love with his new bestfriend, running between rocky's legs, batting at those big paws playfully & already meowing up at kiri in greeting too

Indigo Disk Theory (includes a tiny spoiler for the latest trailer):

Terapagos is evil.

Every generation we have a legendary that we have to fight, and with the last two generations we’ve had to fight one legendary with another legendary(this is something of an older trend but it’s only recently become super prevalent.

Now we haven’t had the opportunity to fight a new legendary as part of the plot outside of catching it yet(not including the bully Miraidon/Koraidon because it isn’t actually a different legendary it’s just the same one that we already had). It would be a MASSIVE break in the pattern if we went through the whole game without an evil legendary.

Another reason I think this is because of the theme of appearances that keeps showing up in this game. Throughout the story we have seen an android who appeared to be the game’s professor, a group of bullied friends who appeared to be the game’s evil team, an “ogre” who we thought would end up being the evil legendary who turned out to be the all time cutest and best Pokemon in the game (look I just love Ogrepon okay? She’s too pure for this world), and three mythicals who appeared to be the good guys and ended up being villains. It would make sense if the legendary who has been portrayed as the cute little guy ended up being the big bad! It fits the pattern of appearances being deceiving.

Now as for what I think the goal of this Pokémon are I think that it probably has something to do with Heath who blacked out in the Violet Book on his expedition to Area Zero. He blacked out and drew a symbol strangely like the little diamond shape shown in the trailer, the same shape that is on Briar’s earrings. I think that maybe somehow Terapagos is able to possess or influence people and I think that it has something to do with that symbol. In the anime Terapagos is somehow stored in a pendant that looks identical to it(I haven’t actually seen much of the anime so I’m not going to put a lot into that part of the theory) so I’m thinking that maybe it’s somehow trapped inside it and wants out or somehow its power is stored in it like Hoopa.

I also think that it somehow possesses people through their desires, specifically their WISHES. I say this because in the flavor text for the Loyal Three it says that each of them made a wish that was then granted. Supposedly there have been leaks(which I don’t usually put much credence in but it works well with my theory so for now I’m taking it with a grain of salt.) that have said that Terapagos is going to have a new type which has been called: Stellar. Now I use this in this part of the theory because it fits the idea of wishes, after all what do people wish on? STARS! I mean even throughout the main game this theme keeps showing up, Team STAR wished for revenge on their bullies, and even Professor Turo wished to learn about the treasure of Area Zero.

I think that the way this Pokémon’s power works is kinda like a monkey paw situation, you get your wish at a great cost. I mean team STAR wished to take down their bullies, and they did but almost got kicked out of the school, Professor Turo wished to find the truth about Area Zero and its treasure but lost his son, Heath wished to find out the same thing as Turo but lost his memory of that very same secret, and then there’s Kieran what if he wished for everyone to know the truth about Ogerpon which revived the Loyal Three but he lost his chance to bond with Ogerpon.

It seems like everyone who has made a wish in this game has lost something and maybe that includes the Loyal Three, maybe they ARE loyal, but maybe that was the cost of their wishes: they got what they wanted but lost their freedom in exchange, maybe they tried to take the masks from Ogerpon as a way of getting something seemingly powerful for their master. I also feel like for a lot of people their wish turned into an obsession, like Heath, Professor Turo, or Kieran. I think that THIS might have something to do with how Terapagos manipulates people, it grants the wish and intensifies it until it becomes something it can use to its advantage.

TLDR: I think that Terapagos is evil, it’s cute and this whole game has been about deception and appearances, and I think it uses people’s obsessions to manipulate them into possibly freeing it from its possible prismatic prison.

*perks up* found this trend a while ago and I loved seeing mlp infection aus...idk why but I think mlp horrors are the best horrors! Imma try and answer all the questions amigo, however I'm writing this in 2 in the morning with a sh*t ton of adrenaline from the fact that you asked (I'm gonna have a heart attack oh lord) so do forgive me if I missed one-

Oh ehem-

Stages

So the sickness which I took for this au is Rabies! Which I think a lot if you might know what it is. Ofcourse, this is a more messed up type of rabbies. There's only 3 stages since the person transforms quickly(in a 1 day). 1st stage: after the pony gets bit by a subject with rabbies they start feeling weak, tired and nauseous. They also all of a sudden get scared of water 2nd stage: the ponies body starts to hurt, usually specific body parts feel the most pain (for example with fluttershy its her front hooves), which then start to get longer, stretching. 3rd stage the ponies body becomes disfigured, they become extremely aggressive and blood-thirsty, foam will start pouring out of their mouth and completely forget who they were before.

How did it begin?

Some chemist pony probably tried to find a cure for different types of sickness in the mlp world but instead made a potion for the missed up rabbies. He tested on some animals and one of them escaped. The animal got to fluttershy(because she's always with animals so she shall be the first victim) and bit her. The infection would continue on with twilight who wanted to go check up on her but instead got attacked.

I planned on making a video 100% doing it like people do on tiktok (or in my case youtube because I am not going to that wretched place, no offense to anyone who goes there) but never made it since I got sidetracked with other stuff lmao. I was already reading a couple other DC webtoons, with mixed feelings ("Wayne Family Adventures" is often too fandom-y for my blood but it's given me a few ideas, and "Red Hood: Outlaws" was... neither a bad as its worst moments, nor did it manage to live to the sky high expectations of its very best), and I was already on my Zatanna feels thanks to Young Justice so... I picked this one up.

I'm guessing you know this but Zatanna's comics version differs quite a bit from YJ's; she's from Bruce's generation, for one (he has a cute cameo here with the two of them playing as children lol), her usual love interest is John Constantine (who plays that part here), etc. This isn't quiiiite like the comics version (or what little I've seen of her), she's a bit younger and greener, with a "finding yourself/having faith in your own power" arc.

The premise is that Zatanna, on her 21st birthday, gets transported to London in Victorian times, right around the time Jack the Ripper was killing (I'm pleased to say the run managed to side-step the issues I tend to have with historical fiction that tries to play around with this concept, tbh). She's stuck there, with malfunctioned powers, becomes friends with one of the working girls, starts trying to solve the case etc. etc. It was a fun read, all around.

Hmm... I'm trying to think of favourite stuff of mine that I don't think you've tried... shows-wise, I think that'd be Desperate Wives? Not saying it didn't infuriate the hell out of me at times lol, and I'm not sure how you'll feel about it, since it's also not-my-usual-type... but when it's good, it's GREAT and really damn enjoyable lol. I became hooked really early on so I'd say to give the pilot a try and see if it awakens any interest, if you haven't watched it?

For films... you might've watched some of these, but some of my favourites that you might want to give a try to would be "The Mask of Zorro" (revenge! romance! sword fights as both revenge and romance tools!), "The Handmaiden" (historical lesbian romance with really engaging twists), or 2010's "True Grit" (a western, which isn't usually my thing, about a young girl seeking revenge for her father's murder).

I'll also list some of my favourite classic books that you might or might not have read, Because: "Carmilla", "Dangerous Liaisons", "Frankenstein", "Pygmalion"

I don't know how plausible it'd be to find this available outside of Spain, but I'm recommending "La Promesa", a Spanish telenovela I've gotten into (I'm not really watching it properly because I'm waaaaaaaay behind lol. it's long as fuck, currently in its 150+ episode; I watch the current ones when my mother has it on tv lol, and sometimes some of the old ones). It's sloooooow, which can be frustrating, and LOOOOONG, as I said, but it does some really great things character-wise. I've called it the Spanish Downton Abbey lol, but with faaaar more attention given to the working-class characters (the heroine herself being a maid).

This goes beyond five, but since I'm not sure if you've watched/read some of these, and you probably won't be able to watch the last one ^^U: SEVERANCE!!! Again, I just want people to watch both this AND Dollhouse so we can delve deep into them xDD. Just one short season so far, with a second one coming on 2024. It's about a group of workers who've gone through a surgical procedure that separates their memories from work and those from their life outside, effectively creating different people, and the sketchy corporation they work with. And Dichen Lachman is in it too :D (her part is the only one I actively compared with Dollhouse while I was watching it lol. So far Dollhouse wins but... Priya's story is hard to top).

Another bonus, Because: I recommended the Kemi Ashing-Giwa's short stories stored in Tor to another mutual, so this time I'll give focus to another one: "The Puppermaster", about a banished warrior, her sketchy usurper uncle, and monsters.

i just finished the chapter AND OH MY GOD. it was so cute and sweet but absolutely heartbreaking at the same time. toge and panda broke me☹️☹️☹️ i love hana sm and i love the way you portray her bc she seems like such a sweet person and i really love how y/n tries to befriend her and not make her feel unwelcome

yuta just continues to raise my standards, that man is the greenest flag to exist and the way he loves y/n so much makes me bang my head against a wall. they’re everything to me and they’re literally the definition of what love is

maki is my baby, her and y/ns relationship is so pure and you can see how much they care for each other. i feel like their love for one another doesnt have an explanation, its more than just platonic love, they’re literally soulmates

TULLIA UGHHHHHHH everytime shes mentioned my heart drops to the ground and i miss her so so so so much. it shatters my heart the way she never got to confess to toge herself, they deserved so much better ☹️☹️

and gojo omg. y/n and gojos relationship may be my favourite in the entire series. i love how much they care for each other and the way they’re literally siblings. the photo album ABSOLUTELY killed me, it was so thoughtful and so sweet and fr the best gift you can ever give someone. it makes me really sad that its probably the last thing she’ll ever get from gojo (if the story goes there (PLS DONT IM GONNA SOB AND SCREAM))

all in all, i absolutely loved this chapter but it felt like the calm (if you can call it that really) before the storm and im so not ready for the next chapter. it kills me that pi is ending so soon, i’ll miss it so much and i’ll miss all the characters and inside jokes of the book, but im still really excited to know what happens and see everything get revealed (im gonna be screaming crying shaking and dying on the floor)

toge and panda the forgotten favs 😫 i’m like 99% sure that’s the last time we’re going to see those two and they’ve been there since the BEGINNING so it was so bittersweet writing that chapter 😔 but HANAAA i love her sm she deserved sm better from the fandom and from gege as a whole i will always defend her. the whole trend of female characters obsessed with the male main characters that dgaf abt them is so annoying and disappointing to me tbh especially because hana had so much potential to be such an interesting character given her powers and dynamic with angel. so i tried to expand on her just a little bit!! maybe in another fic i’ll focus on her more because she really is so cool.

YUTA IS SO SWEET he is THE boyfriend of all time like the biggest gentleman ever i love him sm 😢 he’s just so kind and loving and ugh i can’t

maki and y/n really do escape definition tbh. like i couldn’t tell you WHAT they are but whatever it is it’s a very very pure form of love and they are so dear and important to me. their relationship (along w y/n and yuta’s ofc) definitely exemplifies the core of pi and idt the story would be the same without it at ALL

the tullia mentions are so sad for me too because i’ve actually never killed her off before so it’s weird to write something without her there in some way shape or form. her and toge deserved sm more than they got fr.

GOJO AND Y/N. that’s it that’s the sentence…as much as the romance in pi is central to it i think the bond between gojo and y/n is just as important. they kill me every time because they didn’t get as much time as they deserved together (#l/nclanslander) but they still love each other more than anything. the photo album had me sobbing especially describing all of the pictures from the first half of the story 😭 it felt so end credit scene if that makes sense?? and just reminded me that this entire ridiculous journey is almost over ☹️ no spoilers for what will happen to everyone hehehe you will have to wait and see

THIS CHAPTER TRULY IS IT. the calm before the storm the last time we see everyone…it truly will be the end of an era once pi is over (which is so so soon) i’m going to feel so empty for a bit and it’s going to be so odd to not be able to write more adventures of the pi crew (but at least that means asftd and h/h can get back to being updated regularly again!!)

The 27th of another month. 74 months after my favorite cartoon show was canceled. Ordinarily, Trending 27th would be happening, but it’s been downplayed as of late. However, there is something that’s resonated with me since SaveWOY’s heyday, long before we heard about Kid Cosmic and its being made at Netflix.

I’m not sure what happened, but a fan video by fluffy-raccoon-artist (formerly cerise-the-traveling-artist) called “SaveWOY: The Story So Far” is gone. It came out on March 31, 2017, and I think it’s been absent for the past 2 years or so. Fortunately, I have much of the dialogue memorized. I also remember the fellow who voiced Wander tried the best he could to channel Jack McBrayer accent-wise. If you see the name Cerise, that’s the artist herself depicted as her ‘WOY-sona.’ A real world person as a non-canon character, if you will.

Cerise: (to a cat onscreen) Oh, Biscuit! Shoo! Get out of the frame!

Wander: Wasn’t that a little mean? I mean, he wasn’t bothering anyone.

Cerise: Yeah, I know, but he’d still distract you.

Wander: Well, hi there, you fine internet goers! Folks call me Wander, and I’m ever so thrilled that you clicked on this here video! Why? Well, lemme tell ya! I just so happen to come from this cute little cartoon show called Wander Over Yonder, which just so happens to be one of the many WONDERFUL creations of… Drumroll, please.

Cerise: Oh! Oh, oh, right, right.

(Drumroll)

Wander: … Craig McCracken! The very same mastermind behind such classics as The Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. And believe it or not, while he was working on those two amazing shows, he was also doodling little ol’ me in his sketchbook, buuhhhht that’s not what this video is about. It’s about the show and just how great of a show it is. Okay, so this show is about me and my best pal Sylvia, traveling the universe and helping folks, with the occasional saving of an entire planet or a space worm trying to eat us, all while being chased by the fierce Lord Hater and his army of Watchdogs. You see, Hater’s the villain of the peace, but in reality, he’s just a big softy who just really wants attention.

Lord Hater: No I’m NOT!

Wander: Did I mention the music and the animation? Because it’s simply… AMAZING! Not to mention that this little show won three Annie Awards.

Cerise: And Weird Al plays a character in Season 2. He even gets a song.

Wander: The songs! Oh, how could I forget? Yes! This show has so many lovely songs! We even got an entire musical episode! This show has so many amazing things and so much potential! Too bad that… Disney canceled it. Yes, as sad as it is, Disney felt that two seasons were enough for our little show, much to the crew’s disagreement. They had a whole third season planned out, and it would’ve wrapped everything up in a perfect little bow. Of course, Craig and his hard-working crew tried their hardest to convince Disney to let them have a third season, but alas, it was no use. Now you all might be thinking, “Why are you telling us this?” “How can we help?” Well, I am so happy to say that the answer will be in the next video. Or if you’re impatient, in the description of THIS very video. Well, that was all for now. I hope to see you fine folks again real soon.* Bye!

*I’m not sure if this is how the line went, but just bear with me.

This “answer,” of course, turned out to be sending letters to Disney during the holidays in 2018. I must have sent roughly 8 total during that time.

If there’s a song that pretty much sums up how much I wish for WOY to be given the same amount of fairness given to the DTVA shows that got way too much love and/or more than two seasons, it’s “Waiting on a Miracle,” sung by Mirabel (Stephanie Beatriz) in Encanto. I immediately thought thought of everything SaveWOY has been trying to do when I first experienced the song and got a grasp of Mirabel’s longing to have a special gift since she’s a descendant of the Family Madrigal.

I realize the video might be a little dated, but the message is still clear. WOY is still incomplete, and it could surely be just as influential as most of DTVA’s overappreciated shows if Disney’s current bosses give it a chance.

While we’re on the subject, I have watched Seasons 1 and 2 for the 8th time on Disney+ on my one-season-per-month run. As glad as I was that WOY got a second season, I still don’t think two seasons are enough for the show. Any true fan would be quick to realize Fish Hooks, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Amphibia, and any other 11-22-minute episode show that got more than two seasons have more episodes than WOY does. Heck, I’m pretty sure the people who worked on those more fortunate shows never had to try their hardest to convince Disney to let the shows have their third season. At this point, I’d still settle for a PDF attachment of the plans for Season 3 even if it means ruling out “movement, music, and McBrayer” among other things. We fans must keep support for the show alive regardless of Craig’s current status with Cartoon Network.

That being said, I’ll be taking a little break from watching WOY - I have started taking an online master’s program in art and technology, so I’ll need to focus for the next few months. If any of you fans out there have Hulu and/or Disney+ and a whole lot of time on your hands, give the show tons of viewership. Maybe in time, you’ll come up with theories about S3, uncover more clues online, and create your own interpretation of Star Force Enforcement Force, like I did.

abed: bisexual, he/they, dating troy. uses his lava lamp as a visual stim. owns so many tangles and picks each one depending on mood and vibes, likes to pick out a matching tangle for the movie they're watching. maybe might have a service kink 🧍

troy: gay, he/him, dating abed. has a kangaroo plushie named kickpuncher which he sleeps with every night. cries at the end of tangled because its just such a happy ending. used to play drums when he was younger.

annie: lesbian, she/her, dating claire. loves knitting and uses it as a way to relax, she gives away her finished products to the study group. also taught troy and abed to knit. her favorite animal is giant isopods.

britta: bisexual, she/they/he, dating frankie. has a small knitting group with annie, troy and abed where they get together and just knit while listening to music or watching some light hearted romcom. plays the bass in an all female punk band.

jeff: bisexual, he/him, dating craig. takes craig to ballroom dancing classes every other week and they always dress up so they're the fanciest bitches there. didn't realise he was in love with craig until season 6 (oblivious little guy). has bad days where he can barely get out of bed, before he and craig got together abed was usually the one to help him on those days.

craig: queer, any pronouns, dating jeff. worships the ground jeff walks on but is also there for him on his bad days.

frankie: queer, transfem, she/they, dating britta. they have 2 cats together. LOVES making lists and also excel sheets. makes lists of everything ranging from to-do lists to every single book she has ever read to all the lists she has ever written [she's just like me frfr]. usually reads at least 1 entire book every week, on top of the fact that they keep greendale alive. has all her books neatly organised in her bookshelf and finds it endearing whenever britta sneaks one of their own books in there. wanted to be an author when they grew up but preferred writing about mundane things instead of action and adventure so she realised they would never really be able to be one, still writes in her free time though.

Let's Make a Personal History with Senryu! Masayoshi Sugiyama

　Hi everyone, nice to meet you. I'm Masayoshi Sugiyama, a senryu writer!　I'm in my 60s now, and I've lived my whole life being made fun of and saved by senryu.

　I'm in my 60s now, and I've been laughed at and saved by senryu for a long time. Salaryman senryu and XX senryu are popular in the world, aren't they? Why is that? Because they are soothing to write. Try writing about your demon boss or your horrible wife. Try writing about your own failures in a funny way. When you do that, you can make that jerk or your screw-up look cute. Senryu poetry has a way of capturing the subtleties of the heart and turning them into laughter.

　Once upon a time, when I was heartbroken for the first time in my life (laughs). It was very painful, but I was able to look at myself objectively when I tried to write in 5, 7, 5. When I was in a tavern and another person was watching me stumbling around, it was strangely soothing. It's like an astral projection (laughs).

　Of course, if you just want to vent your emotions, blogs and Twitter are fine. But what's different about senryu is that it has a pattern and a principle. If you apply your feelings to a few principles on the assumption that others will see your work, you can create a beautiful work of only 17 syllables.

　In this series of articles, I will introduce you to the wide world of senryu without any formalities. Please read it as if you were visiting a culture class.

　Since this is the first installment, let me start by telling you what senryu is all about.

Human close-up!

　If you are Japanese, you know that senryu is 5-7-5. So, how does it differ from haiku, a short poetic art form that also originated from renga? In a rough way, haiku is a landscape painting and senryu is a portrait painting.

Haiku

　Two cats in spring, whiter than snow (Takahama Kyoshi)

　Two houses in front of a big river in the May rain (Yosa Buson)

　The world is as beautiful as a Japanese painting or ink drawing. What about the other willow?

The other senryu is...

　I think I've been charmed by your amiability.

　The fly escaped, but quietly opened its hand.

　I wonder if you have any experience with this. When you catch a fly with both hands... Oh, you just saw it escape, didn't you? But you can't help expecting it.

　Do you understand the difference between a landscape painting and a portrait painting? In this way, Senryu is a close-up of the human mind. There are also haiku that express human emotions (joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure) in 5-7-5, such as Taneda Santoka and Ozaki Hosai.

　In recent years, haiku has been expressing more and more mental images, and the boundary between haiku and semryu has become blurred. However, please think of senryu as a way to compose humanistic 5-7-5 poems without being bound by the seasons.

　That's the basic premise.

Modern senryu is a "self-portrait."

　There are two kinds of portraits: those of "others" and those of "oneself.

　Senryu is a popular literary art form that originated in Edo (now Tokyo) during the Edo period (1603-1868), and depicting others is a traditional way of writing senryu. The current affairs senryu poems published by newspapers and the "XX senryu poems" solicited by companies follow this trend. They are poems about politicians who are not good at their jobs.

　But the modern senryu that I do is a self-portrait, a poem about myself. Laughing at others is funny, but it leaves me with a bad aftertaste. If that's the case, the basic idea of modern senryu is to laugh at yourself.

　What? She was probably trying to be clever, but my wife didn't like it. Isn't it such a petty predicament?　

　If you write about anger and sorrow among human emotions, it becomes more interesting. The trick is to be "doe-eyed.

　The material that is you is with you 24 hours a day. There is a saying, "Experience is an equal gift," but each of us has our own unique interests in life, right? The first step is to think about what kind of ingredients you are and what kind of food you can become. It's good to start by thinking about that.

　Originally, senryu poems are written according to a theme, but you don't need to think about anything difficult at first.

What are the three main elements of senryu?

　First of all, you have to decide what you are going to write about. What are your recent feelings of anger and sorrow? Then, once you have decided on the material, you can write your poem according to the three main elements of senryu: "Ugachi, Karumi, Warai".

Ugachi: to get to the heart of things or people 　All yurei (ghosts) appear with a common name.

"You wouldn't say, "Yesterday, the ghost of a certain Buddhist priest appeared to me. So, is a commandment name for a funeral? That's what I mean. It's a good angle.

Karumi-Lightness: light and witty. 　Refill your tears with beer.

I can't believe she refilled her tears with beer. This kind of light footwork is good!

Warai-Laughter: Happiness, silliness, embarrassment, laughing at yourself. 　I'm glad God is toying with me.　

It would be clean if the discoloration came to this point.

　With these elements, it is possible to compose senryu that is both plain and deep. If you want to write about emotions, you can't just shout, "I'm so sad! It's not enough to just shout, "I'm so sad! It's like writing a script for a drama where you are the main character.

　"The biggest mystery is my current face. The author lives inside the poem. The key is whether or not a third party can read it and find it interesting.

　First of all, I would like you to try to write your own senryu using your own eyes, ears, mind and words, no matter how bad you are. This is a lesson from my teacher, Ms. Shinko Tokizane.

　Let's become a poet rather than a reader! In the next article, we'll learn the rules and tricks of the trade while doing some actual work.

Senryu Variety - Which Type Are You? Masayoshi Sugiyama

　I'm Masayoshi Sugiyama, and I'd like to share with you some of the things that make me smile and laugh. The 5, 7, 5 senryu is perfect for capturing such scenes.

　When you look around your daily life, you will find many sprouts of such senryu. But it is important to be able to find them. Cultivating those eyes is the first step.

　Today, let's think about the "point of view" that is necessary for composing senryu.

First of all, just try to compose!

　Let's start by learning what senryu is through actual writing.　Let's learn what senryu is. Let's start a senryu class. Our student is Nozomi Oigawa, an office worker in Kanda, Japan, and an aspiring willow poet.

Nozomi, nice to meet you. I'm Nozomi Oigawa, the eternal 29-year-old who never gets over it (laughs). (laughs) I'm still new to the senryu world, but I look forward to working with you!

Today, I'd like to start off by writing some miscellaneous poems about everyday life. 'Zatsuei' means to compose freely without being bound by a theme. There are also titled poems that have a specific theme to be composed, but I'll get to that next time.

It is true that many people generally think that way, but actually there is more to it than that. It's much deeper than that.

　There are many types of senryu, so let's start with the different types.

Various types of senryu -- Which type are you?　

Shosen: Many people think of senryu as satirizing other people and society, like Nozomi's poem, right? But there are three main types of senryu.

(1) Traditional Senryu: Composing about the subtleties of human feelings

This is an objective view of daily life and customs. This is also called "general senryu" and depicts the subtleties of human feelings as seen by the author. The poem that Nozomi wrote falls into this category.

(2) Current Affairs Senryu: A sharp look at the times

This is the type of senryu that criticizes society and politics. Many of the willow poems published in newspapers are current affairs senryu, which are considered good because of their satirical spirit. It is a competition to see how sharply you can capture the times. The "Salaryman Senryu", "IT Senryu", and "Nursing Care Senryu" that companies are looking for are also in this category.

(3) Contemporary Senryu: A poem about the author's joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure

The question is whether the material for the willow should be about others or about oneself. In modern willow, which is called "self-initiated willow," the author's own emotions are captured. "The real appeal of modern willow is the "human close-up.

　Sugimoto is one of the six willow artists born in the Meiji era (1868-1912) known as the "six great willow artists" who created the foundation of modern willow. This is a sincere and sad feeling.

Nozomi: Wow, the impression of a haiku can change a lot depending on your point of view.

Shozen: Yes. In this class, we focus on modern willow, which is a form of willow that addresses the voice of the heart. There are three types of willow, and they are very rich.

　There is no one type that is the best, so I think you should choose the type that makes you feel comfortable in writing 5, 7, 5.

Nozomi: I just wrote a traditional senryu poem, but now I'm going to try to recite my own feelings in the Shosen style of modern senryu.

　I can't talk about my feelings in a sour, I need a sip.

Shozen Suddenly, after five... But this is a fine modern willow because it has your feelings in it. It has a bit of lightness and laughter. It's good.
