one interesting thing about the character icons in rtdx is that in the game files every pokemon has at least a neutral, a happy, and a pained icon but some pokemon that were important characters in gti and psmd have their more unique sprites here and they have an updated resolution for the switch

hi I love your writing so much
can u write a blurb of max and Julia and fin where they got in trouble at school and reader and max got called called for a parent’s meeting
Cw: kid being bullied
Note: thank you ✨️
"Did you notice anything weird lately?", you asked Max as he parked the car, "nope, they have been fine, they don't complain about anything, I'm not sure why they did this", he said, holding your hand once you were out of the car and walking into the school. After a quick chat with the secretary at the front to let the principal know you were there, you were welcomed to the office, Julia and Finn sitting in the chairs, feet swinging since they couldn't reach the floor.
"Thank you for coming", the principal said, shaking your and Max's hand, "I think it's best if they explains why I called you here", he said, sitting down as you did the same, facing your kids.
"We were in the playground, and we noticed there was a group of boys being mean to Lyla - she's the new girl I told you about, mama -, and they were calling her those words you told us were mean and bad", Julia said, "so I went up to Finn and his friends because I thought they could help since the boys calling her names were from the year behind them", your daughter reasoned.
"I went there with my friends to talk and then they took our football", Finn continued, "because of that, I tried to go get the ball back and when the other boy wad dribbling away from me, I ran and I nudged the ball as he was kicking it so the ball went on the window and it shattered", Finn said.
By the way your husband was closing his fists, you figured he was thinking about the same things and worried about the same issue as you, a different worry from the principal it seemed.
"I know I shouldn't have done that, and I'm sorry that I broke the window", Finn turned to the principal, "and I'm sorry if we disappointed you, but we wasn't going to let them carry on!", Julia reasoned as you and Max looked at both of them.
"We have also spoken to the other kids' parents, you were the last ones. Fortunately, it was the cleaning supplies' closet and no ine was there, so no one got hurt", the principal attempted to gain your attention as you both kept looking at your kids.
"Both me and my wife appreciate you telling us, but the only issue here is that you're allowing this in your school. We can pay for the window if that is your problem, but I'd like you to reflect on the whole situation", Max stated calmly.
"As you can imagine, we don't always have control of everything", the principal excused himself.
"Me or my husband won't apologise for what happened. Like you said, no one was harmed, but you should look into paying more attention to Lyla, it's not the first time it was brought to my attention that the little girl is being bullied and no adult seems to be worried about it, when that is in fact where your worry should be", you followed, tone stern and convict.
Leaving the money they asked for the repair, you and Max split up to go with each kid to their classrooms and get their backpacks, "I'm sorry they were mean Lyla, my love, but you did well in defending hour friend, it's a shame they didn't listen to you", you said as you looked at Finn towards the end of the sentence.
"It's not fair", Finn complained, "this principal isn't nice, I don't like him", he pouted.
"Finn, sometimes things don't go our way, and we shouldn't say that about people, okay?", Max lectured as he drove home, squeezing your thigh ans whispering, "as much as I believe what I just said, I have to agree. Since they changed principal, the priorities have been a bit all over tha place", he commented, "might be a good time to reconsider schools", you noted.
(Thank you for submitting an ask ✨️)

Sun Wukong x GN!Reader: Overworked
Tumblr media
Y/n was in class, listening to the lecture with a semi-bored expression. The professor was announcing a new group project and was going over all the ins and outs of the assignment, when Y/n was startled out of listening to the lecture from their phone buzzing like wild. It was clear that a certain someone was texting them at a rate so fast that Y/n's phone was vibrating at an almost constant rate.
They promptly excused themself from class and went into the bathroom to call their loving partner: Wukong.
"Hey, peaches! What are you doing right now?"
"I should be asking you that! I'm in class right now!" Y/n whisper-yelled into the phone.
"Then what are you doing on your phone?" Wukong asked teasingly. Y/n knew he was just pushing their buttons, but that didn't make it any less infuriating.
"I had to go to the bathroom just so I can answer my clingy boyfriend's messages. So, did you have something to actually say to me or are you just messing with me again?"
"Again?"
"Sun Wukong, I will hang up if you don't answer my question."
"UGH, fine! I was wondering if you wanted to come over to Flower Fruit Mountain after you get out of your boring class."
"It may be boring but it's also important. But to answer your question, I'm sorry but I can't. I just got a group project I have to start today."
Y/n didn't have the heart to hear his disappointed response, so they just hung up and turned text notifications off on their phone.
Once Y/n got home, it was already almost 10pm and they still had some homework to do before bed. The group assignment in one of their classes was already leaving a bad taste in their mouth because the group Y/n ended up in is filled with slackers and decision-dodgers. So, from the looks of things, Y/n was going to be the sole person doing any work in the group for that class assignment.
Eventually, the last paper was done for the night and Y/n crashed onto their bed. They were unable to sleep just yet because of the energy drinks and adrenaline of working so much, so Y/n just took their phone and checked to see if Wukong had texted them at all since their phone call prior in the day.
Nothing...
That did slightly concern Y/n. They glanced over at their calendar and knew that laying there speculating as to whether Wukong got busy himself or not would do nothing for them. So, Y/n instead decided to just fade to sleep.
The next few days practically were a blur to Y/n. Things were rather busy preparing for the group project being due the next week and tests and homework assignments thrown in for good measure to keep Y/n as busy as possible.
A couple times throughout the week, Wukong had reached out to Y/n to ask if they wanted to hang out. As much as they wanted to do just that, they told him that they just didn't have the time.
This unsettled Wukong a lot because he could tell they seemed tired in the few moments he got them on the phone. When Friday came along and they rebuffed him for what felt like the hundredth time, Wukong decided enough was enough.
Y/n was sitting at their computer desk, typing away at their group project that might as well have been called their project. But as they were finishing up the final report for it, they were snapped out of their thoughts by their phone ringing.
Y/n sighed as they checked both the time and the caller ID.
Sun Wukong, 1:58am
"Hello?"
"I knew it." Wukong said with disappointment clear in his voice.
"Knew what?"
"You're staying up late to finish your work, right?" He asked despite knowing the answer.
"No...?" Y/n kicked themself in the head mentally for that lame excuse of a reply.
Wukong sighed. "Alright, I'm coming over."
"Wait, what? But I-and you hung up..." Y/n said as they heard the call beep.
Sure enough, 20 minutes later, a knock at Y/n's window sounded throughout their apartment.
Y/n got up from their computer desk and let him in.
Wukong looked around, feeling unsettled by the mess of energy drinks and soda cans littering every surface, along with small snacks sitting at the computer desk.
Y/n began to walk past him to head back to said desk but Wukong knew where that would lead.
"No, no, no you don't." Wukong picked them up, ignoring their flailing.
"Wukong! Put me down! I'm almost done!!"
"Well, then if you're almost done, then you can finish your work tomorrow." He said, making a good point despite Y/n's efforts to think not.
"You've been working all week. I think your grades won't suffer that much if you take one night off." Wukong pointed out, placing them gently on their bed. When Y/n sat up, Wukong placed a hand on their shoulder, keeping them down. "Y/n. Get some sleep. It'll make you feel better than it would if you got a slightly better grade. I'll stay here with you if it helps."
Y/n knew they weren't getting out of this without sleeping. Plus, their eyes were starting to get heavy since the caffeine was wearing off. They let loose a small yawn. "Alright, Wukong. You win, now come over here and cuddle with me."
Wukong smiled sweetly. "Alright." He squeezed into bed with Y/n and the two of them cuddled till late into the next day.

KIERARKTINA
Starting with the ship I don't care as much about so that I can get to the others, which happen to be my 3 favourite ships of all time, LOL.
At first I was really confused because I didn't notice Mark and thought that it was Kieran and Cristina and a horse. There was a brief moment where I thought Mark might have turned into a horse. I do not think this is the case, lol.
So the displayed items for them are:
Horse (I'm assuming a steed of the wind hunt)
A bow and arrow
Just two arrows
The Fae King's crown (perhaps just a character symbol of Kieran)
The three rings (that I am speculating are wedding rings!)
I think it's likely that Kieran and Mark will in some way briefly be drawn back to the Wild Hunt and take Cristina with them. They will, in my opinion, likely be married in some kind of Wild Hunter ceremony.
I don't think I can get more in-depth than that because I honestly do forget a lot of TDA and don't have a ton of opinions, but yeah! I will say I'm also really curious about why Cristina is silver while Mark and Kieran are both gold. Perhaps it marks her as a Shadowhunter rather than a Hunter? We shall see.
WESSA
I am PUMPED to see Will and Tessa again, they're my OGs, my little darlings. And LOOK THEY'RE GAZING INTO EACH OTHER'S EYES, 10/10 cannot wait for this.
The symbols surrounding them are:
The Eiffel Tower (not a surprise since Cassie said the story was set in Paris)
The Arc de Triomphe (once again, another symbol of Paris)
What appear to be cards or tickets to something
What looks like a magical snowglobe or crystal ball of some variety
A devil tail wrapped around a pitchfork.
The first two just tell me that the story is set in Paris. But I'm the most fascinated by the snowglobe because it gives off a sort of... ethereal vibe. Look at the symbol in the middle - it looks like a magical talisman, probably something psychic/fortune-telly. Maybe they get their fortunes read and the tickets are for a fortune teller.
This brings us to the devil pitchfork and tail.
We know that the story is set very shortly after Clockwork Princess, meaning that Tessa doesn't know the ins and outs of her demon heritage yet. It feels likely that in this story she'll discuss it with Will a bit...
OR. Or. And I like this one... Belial tries to possess Tessa while she is asleep and the Angel Ithuriel protects her. Belial talks about this having happened in the All Places Hell chapter of Chain of Gold. This would be really interesting because I've long thought I wished to see Tessa have some even indirect interaction with Belial. OH MAYBE WILL FIGHTS HIM OFF TOO YES.
Okay there that's it.
Now...
HERONDAISY
Babies, my babies. I love them so fucking much, they and Thomastair are by far the ones I'm most excited to see again. So let's unpack the Herondaisy corner THOROUGHLY.
First, I do appreciate the fact that Cordelia is still running (but, as @angeldaisies said, she is running side by side with James now and I am going to cry happy tears yet again.) Anyway, it also amuses me that she's running and James is like, reaching after her. She's going to do something brash and brave and impulsive and her and he's going to be adoring it every step of the way and I love that for them both.
So, symbols!
The chess piece (a self-explanatory symbol for their relationship that we all know and love)
The throne
Two pomegranate halves on either side of the heart
I can't think of what the throne is for, but it's very possible imo that it goes with the chess piece because - and I am willing to do a longer essay on this someday that isn't today - the final battle in ChoT is... a chess game. That ends with James, the king, on the Coronation Chair. And this throne in fact looks very much like the Cornonation Chair.
This brings me to something interesting, which is the idea of the symbols inside the hearts vs outside the hearts. I am only going to explore this for Herondaisy and Thomastair because that's what I'm doing.
In any event, James and Cordelia are the only couple to be inside the heart with no props. The other ships all have something with them - Cirenworth for Thomastair, the snowglobe for Wessa.
I am wondering if perhaps the things outside of the heart are things that the story is missing. Will and Tessa wanting to go sightseeing and getting stuck with dark dealings instead; Thomas and Alastair wanting to find Zachary who is missing (I'll get there) but instead feeling stuck at Cirenworth.
In this case, the Coronation Chair represents the past, as does the chess piece that Cordelia is running towards.
Now, I might be reading too much into that. But I'm musing and I like it.
I have 0 idea of what the Pomegranite may be - fertility? Feels too early. Katherine of Aragon? Long dead. Temptation to the underworld? ...Maybe.
In any case, I think and hope that this is going to be their honeymoon story. I want to see them in Istanbul SO BADLY and as angeldaisies pointed out the epilogue of ChoT sets that up nicely. The second wedding runes could be a flashback... maybe James is what's tempting Cordelia <333
THOMASTAIR
I am DYING with excitement for this one as well as Herondaisy's, if I don't get it ASAP I may wither and die in a blob of sadness. But I WILL get it and thus I will thrive. Herondaisy, Thomastair, Arianna, Wessa... the harvest is come.
Inside of Thomas and Alastair's heart, we have their figures running as well as a building that I'm fairly sure is Cirenworth.
Other symbols outside the heart are:
Zachary's pram (rolling downwards, away from the heart)
A car (driving upwards, away from the heart)
A baby shoe
A top hat
Assuming that the hat is Alastair's because he canonically wears hats. And remember in Chain of Gold what he did? He lost his hat.
Absolutely and 100% believe that this story will be about Thomas and Alastair losing Zachary and having to find him. Thought this before, but think it even more when analyzing the symbols.
Since it's a romcom, maybe it's like a heist romcom - they need to follow clues like the baby shoe and the pram rolling about to try to find him (watch him be nursing with Sona or something lmao). But yeah, and their car is gone maybe, so they don't know how to get around or look, and hijinks ensue.
I think this will be set while they're helping Sona move into Cirenworth, by the way, and when they move into Cornwall Gardens. Which I LOVE. HONEYMOON STAGE THOMASTAIR 10000/10.
AN END NOTE
Please don't get to attached to my theories or headcanons, and know that I am not too attached to them, either. I'm speculating for fun, and there is no way I am not going to love Thomastair or Herondaisy stories. Like, I'd read an entire book about either of those ships making breakfast cover-to-cover 100 times. This is just what I think based on symbols.

The Fighter Pilot
Synopsis:
You're just a resistance fighter pilot who just so happens to have a mission with the ghost crew. Why? Because they needed someone who's used to flying fast. Ezra's easily smitten too.
Genre: Fluff.
Note: This is AFAB!Bey!reader, yes I have intentions of making her one of Poe's aunt because I love that idea. Also Shara Bey's father has no name in canon so I will call him what the books call him ✨Shara Bey's Father✨
--------------------------------------------
You have always lived in the stars. You grew up having your older sister Shara Bey take you to fly her ship, then when you two were old enough, you both joined the resistance as fighter pilots. Now as adults, you and your sister were considered the best. She led the special unit while you were the right hand man of her husband Kes Dameron, the leader of Green squadron. So imagine how surprised you were when they told you that General Syndulla and the rest of the ghost crew needed your quick wit and evasive skills for their mission.
"Shara, are you serious? The ghost crew wants me to help them?" You asked excitedly.
"Yeah, and they were asking who I would call as the second best to me and well I said you." Your sister joked.
"Second best? Oh please, I'm better than you, I just declined being a squadron leader since you might miss me too much when I'm sent out to more missions. Plus, I can't leave you alone, I'm the brain of the team and it doesn't help that little Poe loves his amazing aunty." You said as you bumped her shoulder playfully.
"You know as much as that's true, it still shows that I'm better since I'm still of higher rank than you pipsqueak." She said smugly.
You both ended your conversation once you both reached general Syndulla's office. You saw that you weren't just meeting with General Syndulla but with everyone in the ghost crew, except for Sabine as she is still stuck in Peridea. You also noticed Jacen standing close to the newly returned Ezra Bridger who was looking at you with a small smile.
"General Syndulla, Here's my sister. She's Kes' tactician and the best pilot in their squadron. I'll leave her to you and your crew to brief her about your mission." She said seriously.
"Shara, thank you for bringing her here. You may leave as well." General Syndulla said kindly.
You watched as your sister left before looking back at you and mouthing at you to behave. You wanted to poke your tongue at her but surrounded by such a legendary crew you couldn't even do it. You were nervous.
"Please sit. Don't be too nervous we just want to know some things before we agree to take you on our mission." General Syndulla said.
"So, you were working with Kes Dameron and your sister Shara Bey during the rescue mission on Naboo?" The infamous Zeb asked.
"Yes, I helped come up with the plan, and let princess Leia tweak them if need be. I was also the one in charge of finding suitable escape routes for minimum casualties." You answered with pride.
"Senator Organa also said that you were there to assist the destruction of the second death star." Kallus spoke.
"Yes sir, I was there as part of the Green Squadron. We were also part of several missions regarding the saving of certain planets that the emperor planned on destroying in the chance that he dies or fails his mission. Sadly, we weren't able to reach Mandalore in time." You said honestly.
"Well, I see you are a decorated pilot. As you know, we deal with a lot of high stakes but low profile missions. This time is no different." General Syndulla starts.
"This mission involves breaking into one of Thrawn's new ships. There is information we have to get ahold of, which is the exact location of Peridea. We need you to be the one to man the Ghost, since we are missing some crew members. Kallus knows the ins and out of the ship, Zeb, Ezra and I are firepower, and Chopper is the one responsible for opening and backing into the system. As you can see it leaves just Jacen. He can man the ship's canon while we entrust you to fly us in and out of the ship's hangar and help us make an escape." General Syndulla looks at you with a twinkle in her eye.
"Do you accept this mission? I know its personal as Sabine and Ahsoka are not only my friend but family and I re-" General Syndulla immediately stops midway as she heard you excitedly answer her.
"Yes, I accept! I mean who wouldn't. This is a mission of utmost importance. I would have done the same if I found out that my nephew Poe was stuck somewhere I don't know how to find." You said truthfully.
"So when do we leave?" You added.
General Syndulla smiles at you, while the rest of the crew let out a sigh of relief. Shara Bey and Kes Dameron were correct in calling you a kind and dedicated person.
"We leave tomorrow at the break of dawn. Also please, just call me Hera. General Syndulla is as much as it's fun, isn't really gonna work when we're in a fight. It's too long to say." Hera Joked.
"Oh, of course Gen-Hera." You corrected yourself.
Once the briefing was done you left the room to prepare for what's to come when you heard a voice call out.
"Hey! (Y/N), welcome to the ghost crew. I'm excited to work with you." Ezra said with a smile.
You flushed red, you always told your sister how you wished to meet the saviour of Lothal as he was around your age, just a year or two older than you and he was already infamous. He was something you would call as your celebrity crush.
"The pleasure is all mine. I appreciate the trust that has been given to me." You said with a smile.
"Wow, you sound so formal, loosen up and we're friends, calm down." Ezra said with a small wink.
"Of course, right, sorry. It's hard to leave behind what I was taught. I mean you all are placed much higher in rank than I am so it's something I have to get used to." You admitted sheepishly.
"It's fine, let me walk you back to your room." Ezra said kindly.
"Thank you. I need to just pack some stuff. Mainly just tools and extra weapons. I have a few small EMP discs. You and the rest can have it to jam the signal of the ship so that they can't inform Thrawn and call for backup." You said offhandedly.
"You make weapons?" Ezra asked intrigued.
"Oh, yeah I do. It became a small hobby of mine. I used to go on solo missions and learned that those truly are handy." You said.
Once arriving in your room, you wave to Ezra good bye as you enter your room. Like you told him, you only packed a few extra blasters, some tools just in case the ship suddenly malfunctions and your EMP discs. You then set an alarm for your mission and went to bed.
When you hear the alarm go off, you are alerted immediately and change your clothes at record speed. You pick up your small pack with your items in it and go to the hangar where the rest of the crew would be.
"Am I late?" You asked Hera.
"No, you came right after me. You can get in and wait in the cockpit." She said.
She gave you the coordinates and you nodded your head and went to the cockpit. Jacen greeted you with an energetic smile and a wave as he began prepping the ship. You sat on the pilot seat and inputted the coordinates. You also warmed up the ship's engines as you waited. Jacen and you had a decent conversation. You learned of his force sensitivity and how he wishes to do both Hera and his late father proud. You couldn't help but smile at Jacen, he reminded you so much of Poe.
When everyone got on the ship, you and Jacen left the cockpit for the final briefing and once everything was settled, you both returned and you flew them off to the location of the coordinates. Once you saw the enemy ship, you turned on the signal scrambler and left your seat to hand them your homemade EMP's.
"Hi, here's something I made. It's to jam the signal. Place these in the communication rooms and here's the detonator. Once it's activated, you have at least 20 minutes before the system reactivates itself." You said as you placed it on the table.
"These look good. Have you ever thought of moving to the weapon division?" Kallus asked.
"I did, but it's not for me. Lacks the whole seeing the stars thing." You jest.
"Fair enough." Kallus chuckles.
"The ship's in view. I'll be using the code your informant gave us. They're also fairly new and the ghost has had some minor changes so it helps." You said as you walked away.
Once cleared to enter the hangar of the enemy ship, the rest of the crew file out of the ship and enter the many halls. You sent Jacen to the ship's canon so that no matter what happens, you're both prepared. You watched from the cockpit as the lights flashed, and you immediately knew that the emp was set off. You start your timer for 20 minutes and wait with bated breath.
Your blaster already by your side prepared for any intrusion, when you heard Hera's voice through the commlink.
"Prepare the ship, we have company!" She said hurriedly.
You immediately started the engine, the ghost's door's already open and you set it to auto pilot as soon as you saw that they were being shot at. They couldn't get in yet so you told Jacen to warm up the canon and immediately turned the ship enough for Jacen to have a clear shot at the enemies while still avoiding the rest of the crew. Seeing the distraction you made they all rushed in. You closed the door once everyone was inside and bolted out of the hangar. But luck wasn't always on your side as they sent their tie fighters your way. Having a shot to open the hyperspace drive was low with how they kept shooting at all of you, so you decided to play their game.
"Hi I suggest holding onto something or sitting down, it's gonna be a bumpy ride." You said through the ship's communication device.
Immediately you switched from easy going to the pilot that Kes and Shara knew you to be. You evaded and gave openings for Jacen to shoot at the tie fighters while maintaining speed and a sizable distance to ensure the ship's safety. Hera was impressed at your flying capabilities. She understood now why Shara Bey said that you were her pride and joy.
"She's really good at this." Zeb said as he held onto the seat.
"Yeah, I would've expected her to find some trouble since this isn't as light as the X or A wings that the fighter pilots are used to. And this isn't a solo ship. She's well trained." Hera added.
"I never knew this ship could move like this." Ezra said amused.
When they looked at the cockpit and saw that you were faced with the main ship already, they were worried. Only to see you prepare the ship for hyperspace. You've only tried this trick on smaller ships before but this one was huge. It was a.risk but right now, it's either you take the risk or die.
Once you set your coordinates back to the resistance base, you waited for the enemy to raise their ship's blasters at you and then, you opened the hyperspace drive. Ripping their ship effectively in half. The ghost crew looked at you both impressed and very much relieved. Jacen returned to the main part of the ghost and sat beside Hera as you let the ship go on auto pilot as soon as the resistance base was on site.
"That was a fun mission!" You said happily as you moved towards them.
"That was some skill you showed there, where'd you learn how to fly like that?" Ezra asked.
"My dad." You said smugly.
As you landed in the hangar and exited the ghost, Hera and you made small talk.
"Well we owe you our safety. Can we hope that if we ever need you, you'll be ready?" Hera asked.
"Of course. It's my honor to serve alongside you." You said.
"Good. Because I think we'll be needing more of your skill. We got the coordinates." Hera said.
"When's the next flight general?" You asked with a smile on your face.
"I don't know yet, but hopefully soon." She said.
"Unless Xiono starts acting like a total idiot and starts spouting nonsense again." Zeb said.
"We're gonna be fine, plus, what's he gonna do fight us? I bet Jacen can beat him with his eyes closed." Ezra joked.
"Either way, we still need to plan our next move. For now let's rest. I'm going to check the coordinates." Hera said.
Zeb and Callus go back to their room, while jacen and chopper head out to explore more of the resistance base. You and Ezra are left standing in the hangar.
"Wanna join me and eat some well earned food?" Ezra asked.
"I would like that." You said.
You both walked and talked until you got your meal and sat down in the cafeteria of the ship.
"You really saved us there though." Ezra said.
"Well I can't let the heroes of Lothal die because I was slow now, would I?" You joked.
"Haha, very funny. But still, you have great skills. The way you moved was very, precise." Ezra said with a twinkle in his eye.
"Also, I don't know if anyone told you this, you look really attractive with the whole serious look on your face when you fly. It's really hot." Ezra said proudly.
You nearly choked on your meal as you looked at him in disbelief.
"Are you flirting with me?" You asked, genuinely curious.
"Yeah! I mean Sabine told me there were really attractive people in the resistance but I guess she didn't see you since, you cannot be compared to the others, you are ethereal." He said, giving you his most charming smile.
"What the force..." You muttered under your breath.
"Sorry did that make you uncomfortable?" Ezra asked, now worried.
"No! I mean, no it didn't make me uncomfortable. I'm just surprised that's all. Because you flirt with me and it sounds honestly really attractive, and you're not really well versed in flirting." You said amusedly.
"Hey, I bet I can make you agree on a date if I tried." Ezra said in faux offense.
"I'm free on Friday, 2pm onwards. There's a cantina on Yavin-4 that's really nice. Also I'm visiting my dad and my nephew there. Wanna come?" You asked
"You just-Yeah I'd love to. Damn that was smooth. You just asked me out." Ezra said, cheeks flushed.
"I saw a chance, I took it. Plus I'd like to fly with you again. Preferably just us." You winked as you stood up and took your now empty tray away.
You wrote your commlink code on a piece of paper and handed it to the still dazed Ezra and gave him a small peck on the cheek.
"message me if you wanna come. Bye." You said as you walked away.
Ezra couldn't help but pump his fist into the air. Damn fighter pilots for being smooth, but for force sake, he was giddy.

Hello,
It's so nice to see you back here. What are your thoughts on views whether YouTube, Twitter likes or even Spotify numbers? I am a big fan of BTS with Jimin and JK as a bias but still a big fan of the band. I tend to check Twitter a lot and came across a lot of posts of JJKs saying Jimin is so unpopular because his views are super low blah blah blah. Not that I care as much about these topics but it kind of made me think. Right now on Twitter, JJKs are dragging JM because of his performance last night which by the way was amazing. But most of their drags are around views lol because they couldn't criticise his singing or performance skills. Well some of them tried going down that route but it didn't really work since he did amazingly well. But now they are dragging him for views because apparently he can't get people to like or watch his stuff. To be honest, I used to be Taekooker with both of them being my bias when I first started my journey with BTS. I used to be in the fan circle and they always used to encourage us to report JMs videos/playlists, told us not to watch any of his content or engage in any of his content. I remember being encouraged to donate money to buy things for the boys (not music related) but it was defs there. I also remember getting annoyed at JM because he always got attention. He somehow always created noise and the annoyance and irritation was encouraged by these fans. But as I got to know BTS members, I stopped shipping which completely changed my outlook. Even when I was a Taekooker, I had always noticed Jimin getting the views and making noise so I don't believe he is unpopular. I notice his popularity even within the music community that might not know K-pop. But these views chat made me think maybe I have just thought he was popular because antis also tend to talk about him a lot. Like it is bizarre that his views seem to be some of the lowest in the group including his Spotify stuff. What are your thoughts on this?
Hi anon!
I think you're asking the wrong person here. This is not something that had any importance to me and I also don't follow or take into consideration such metrics. I know a lot of fans do and some of them might engage in various activities to reduce or multiply those numbers, I don't know the ins and outs.
If Jimin's popularity matter that much and ends up being put into question, then I find that a bit ridiculous. Isn't he the one known for bringing in the fans? I can give myself as an example. Perhaps that's an old argument, but I can also look at the marketing team of this really famous movie that reached out to a big fandom by having Ryan Gosling gifting Jimin a guitar. This is closer to reflecting a reality than some shippers/solo stans are talking about on twitter. I think Jimin's good.

Dearest Pinnie: how would the gang interact with a mute S/O, selectively or otherwise? Do any of them know any sign language (like ASL) or would be willing to learn their S/O's specific type? Or would there be an alternative way of communication? Or... Would it just be a daily, jumbled game of charades? XD
[OH BOY. I hope you can be patient with these losers.]
Breg, this poor, poor idiot... What's ASL? Why are you making weird little hand signals? Hahah, his mate is so funny! Sit him down, get a text to speech app/program or write down the basics of your condition. He'll be a lot more sensitive and respectful once he grasps that you're not miming for the sake of amusement. He picks up on ASL well enough, but he might guess more often than not since a couple of gestures blur together for him.
Fasma is an old coot okay, be patient with him? Sometimes his brain is just too slushy for him to make sense of any gestures you're making, and he's gonna pop a mini notebook out. Give him a break. Fasma only learns a chunk of the basics, the rest is basically charades, yes. Don't worry toots, he was good at this when he was a kiddo!
Gallon has a very sharp eye, you can gesture as fast as you want, he's going to pick up on every subtle little move. Problem is, he only knows a couple of words... You're going to have to teach him plenty, but he does pick up on it quickly. He wishes he could sign back, but the tendrils make it hard, as he has to focus on making actual hands. In the end, the slime takes it as a game and molds what you sign. You sign "dog" and he makes a tiny slime puppy.
Morell- Don't count on him to understand much of the actual words you sign. But the mushroom does have a good sense of intuition, he'll be better off just guessing. Plus, he knows how to word things in a way where you can respond non-verbally. He's patient enough to wait for you to rephrase or try a different tactic, and there's also a notebook always present in his kitchen if neither of you is getting anywhere.
Grimbly is also another monster with sharp sight. He can identify the motions but will fail to grasp much. Can you type? Just for now, he'll figure something out soon. Plus, he can blabber all day until you two reach an understanding. Really, he doesn't mind talking more! Like Santi, he's going to seek magical alternatives at some point.
Santi has had run-ins with a mute person or two, though that hot pocket brain of his will mostly only pick up on basic greetings, swear words, or lewd insinuations. He'll make an effort to understand what you're saying, but is more likely to rely on magic eventually. He's sure there's something greater demons can tell him to make communication less strained. In the mean time, watch him struggle.
Nebul is a quiet soul as well, at first, he didn't make much of a case about you speaking less. While the monster doesn't know sign language, he also doesn't need to. With a simple touch, or merely be letting the mist of his head hover around yours, he can get a glimpse into your mind. Feelings, images, words, scents. All at once. With time, he will teach you to hone mental speech patterns so that you can more easily carry a conversation.
Vinnel, in typical funny lad fashion, will do charades at you initially. Or purposely misinterpret what you say. Anything just to frustrate you. He might even be a dick and ask you something while gripping your hands, so that you can't answer, and then he gets offended at your lack of response. This will cease eventually, turning into a genuine interest in his part to learn the language. Because, believe it or not, he thinks it's graceful.
Patches is one step ahead of you. Mute? No problem, please wear this ring. He's going to wear an identical one. Now, wherever you are, you can talk to him mentally. You don't even need to gesture! Though, if you take it off or lose the ring, he's going to fumble like an idiot. He can probably come up with something more practical, like an earring, or an implant of sorts. That way he can hear you forever.
Sybastian is not a monster that grasps the finer intricacies of spoken language, but body language? Oh, he's all about that. As a selective mute himself, the monster doesn't know ASL, but he is used to gesticulating extensively and has his own sort of rudimentary vocabulary he establishes with people closer to him. This monster will never judge you or express distaste in your reluctance/inability to speak, the two of you will be able to communicate just fine in a manner entirely unique to everyone else.
Ludwig struggles with the speed of your motions. Even if his sight is the sharpest out of the trio, fast motions only serve to put him on edge. Him and Obie would really prefer it if you were to write or type it out. They might totally get one of Patches' rings for this, because it's not something they can work with very well on their own.
Mervin is the exact same, except he's a bit of a cock at first. Oh, you can't talk? Good, you don't need to, he speaks for you now. Plus, there's less chances of you embarrassing yourself trying to say anything of value. You shouldn't speak to anyone else but him anyway.
Belo is immediately intrigued. He wants to learn everything about ASL! How can he be a good angel when he can't even communicate properly with his cherub/god/goddess?! This is unacceptable, he's failing, he needs to learn this NOW. Catch him studying ASL like a procrastinator who's going to have an exam the next day. He feels so ashamed of himself. Please forgive him!
Fank-e has it all sorted out. No talking?? Okie!! <:P In minutes, he's downloaded an entire database of sign languages, translating it in real time while you speak to him. He can even sign back perfectly! Then the two of you can have super secret conversations no one gets! Like it's incrypted! Isn't that awesome?! You guys are so cool!
Krulu has no issue with this. It doesn't matter if you can't or won't physically talk, he's inside your head, your thoughts speak for themselves. Even if you're signing in front of him, he can recognize what you mean just as fluidly as you can, sharing plenty of your knowledge. The concept of ASL fascinates him. Plus, if someone else is bothering you with their inept nature, the higher will simply project his own voice to mirror your gestured words. That scares the shit out of everyone, naturally.

Reading all of your confessional booth responses makes me feel very safe. I can tell how much you care about and respect everyone you play with and how much respecting their limits matters to you. You're willing to push people with their consent, but the second they communicate a boundary or change their color you respect it. How would one go about finding someone as amazing as you in real life?
I'm happy to hear I can make you feel safe. This is how BDSM should be. I don't claim to have all the answers, that's not what I mean. But if I can showcase what negotiating looks like, what check-ins look like, what confirming consent looks like; if I can talk, through entertainment, about safe health practices and techniques for different kinks, little things you should look for to make a sure an irl scene is safe in the future, then I've done my job. Before all the flashy kinks and practices, before the dirty talk and the sexyness, kink is about consent. It's about communication. It's about negotiations and boundaries. That's the core. And I want to show it because it's so damn important. Of course I'd stop the second a safeword is called. Of course I'll check in, slow down, readjust if a yellow is called. I push, but only if I'm sure I can push. Which makes asks like this a bit trickier because I can't validate consent with anons unfortunately, but in these cases I stay on the safer side and I don't assume. A seemingly normal or light thing for me can be somebody's trigger and I'm not here to harm anybody. Hurt, not harm, we say in the community. Hurt is fun, it heals. Harm doesn't heal. I never want to cause harm. And if I do unintentionally cause harm one day to someone, I want to know about it, and I want to take responsibility for it and provide care. That's the bare minimum. If I can help teach yall what to look for in partners and how to vet who you play with, I'll be satisfied.
How to find decent respectful partners irl: get in touch with your local community. Yes even if you're in a small city there will be kinksters around. If you have a bigger city within a couple hours of you, I 100% guarantee there is a living kink community there. Get in touch. There are many ways: through your local queer community since we do have a lot of overlap; through the poly community cause we also have overlap; if there are clubs or play spaces in your area you can get in touch; if you have a local sex shop, especially if there's a kink gear section in there, the staff might be connected to the community; or, of course the easiest way would be online. There's sites for us. Look it up. Do your own research. If you come up blank, you may reach out to me privately and I' can help direct you'll see if I can help you. There's sites, but for obvious reasons we don't advertise them this openly, because the kink community is self policed and self maintained. But if you're serious in your search, I can help.
Once you're in contact with your local community, go to munches. They're a type of event we hold either once a month or a few times a year. They are non-kink, non-play events, so they're the perfect place for a beginner to enter the scene. Most often, they're just a community dinner at a restaurant. You come dress civil, no kink gear allowed of course because you'll be in a public place. You'll get to know some of your community members, but the key is there's no kink talk. You get to know these people as people. Also because talking about kink in a public space like in a restaurant exposes the waiters and staff and other patrons to subjects they might not be comfortable with. Since we can't get everyone in the restaurant's consent, we avoid the topics. Make friends at munches, make connections. From there, ask about classes and workshops in your area, events, public play parties, private play parties, etc. Ideally don't jump into a play party first tho. Attend classes. If you can jump in a BDSM 101 class, that's the absolute best place to start because you'll also meet other beginners there too and be able to build connections with people of your level. We try to hold the 101 starter classes at least a couple times a year.
Once you have good connections built up and a base through classes, you may attempt play. Vet your partners please. Anyone you don't know, before you play, vet, Vet vet vet. Ask around. Ask for references of their previous partners of they have any. Ask your community leaders or instructors if they know the person. Be mindful of, unfortunately, like in any community on the planet, the BDSM community has assholes too, and some of them prey on newbies because they're less aware of their limits, they have less experience and practice smelling bullshit and seeing red flags, etc. Lean on your community members to check if someone is an ok human being. If you're both newbies playing for the first time together, go extremely slow. Be aware you'll make mistakes, and ideally try to find a mentor who can help you navigate all this new stuff. It's very possible you'll have multiple play partners that won't be the right fit, or you'll go for someone who's an ass. Mistakes are normal. We all make them. Guess what, 15 years in the community, last year I still entered a partnership with a very very shity quality human, because I was blinded by all they promised and I wasn't careful. I didn't listen to people who pointed out red flags to me. I should have known, and yet. It happens to the best of us. It's ok. It's not about not tripping, it's about how you get back after you trip.
That's about as much pointers as I can give to someone anonymous on tumblr because I'm not aware of your personal situation, experience, wants, deal breakers, etc. I hope this helps. Best of luck in your search!

Consider: All the kids who died at Exillium / in the Neutral Territories after being banished wouldn't have had funerals, or Wanderlings, because no one would know they were dead since they were already gone from the Lost Cities. I have this theory that Tam and Linh had a friend at Exillium who died and no one even knows. Thoughts?
This is both horrifyingly sombering and yet also very very likely. Not likely as in something that would happen within the realm of canon but likely as in if Exillium was a real place this would 100% happen.
People disappearing or going missing and no one thinks twice about it except to wonder if they're next because they're in the place people are sent to be forgotten. They aren't guaranteed another day at Exillium, which means that if they don't earn it, they're on their own. They're banished. They don't have anywhere to go, and without those check-ins with the coaches who's keeping track of them? No one.
If they don't take the bead or aren't offered one and something happens, then what? They don't have any way to contact someone, and if they do (i.e. they're a vociferator and yell really loud and someone hears or a telepath and someone is in their range) they're not exactly in the best position. They're living on their own in the neutral territories, and even though Exillium needs an address of where the kids are staying...if the kid chose to leave that spot there's nothing the coaches can do to find them. They don't have registry pendants. Kids can straight up just disappear!
With that, there would inevitably be kids dying that people don't know about. They don't know what happened to them. They were there one day and gone the next and there's no way to track them down, no way to learn what became of them. With the attitude at Exillium of trusting no one and keeping your identity secret from everyone before Sophie came along, the other waywards might not even think about it. There's the knowledge that something could happen to them, or that they aren't safe, but they were taught to be hostile towards one another; I wonder how that affects how they'd grieve, if at all. These kids might not even be grieved.
When we first meet Tam and Linh, they're very much relying only on each other, Tam speaking about not knowing how many friends you can have and Linh being more open to helping others and receiving help. So that could be paired alongside/worked into your theory about their friend. Perhaps Tam doesn't know as much because he only had the one and he lost them, so now he's even more guarded to let other people in in the future. Maybe Linh can't help but make friends with people and that more amenable attitude is what led her to be friends with both Sophie and the late Exillium friend. Linh may not have been the one to reach out, but her first response was very trusting.
All that to say my thoughts are that seems very plausible of something to have happened and I'd be curious to learn more about your theory on Tam and Linh's late friend!

Tech Illiteracy for Upcoming Generations
I believe ever since Windows 95, the tech industry on the consumer side has went down a path of simplifying things too much, and instead of it helping us understand how computers work, they've also harmed us. Win95 for example, for all the amazing things it did with innovating UI design, added one of the worst options that would be enabled by default in all future windows versions: "Hide file extensions of known types."
This is bad from both a educational and security perspective. It's an educational issue because people starting out with Windows won't know what a file extension is. File extensions are important because they tell you what a file is; a program, a text document, an image, etc. Yet Win95 just expects you to know what a file is just by it's name and the icon alone. Unfortunately some file types share the same icon, so that method isn't reliable. It can also be frustrating to a user who's trying to import something like a photo into a program and it doesn't import because it's not the correct file type, but because the user doesn't know what a file extension is and likely believes all images are the same, that user would just be confused and wouldn't know why they can't import that photo (feel sorry to any new user downloading a webp.) Moreover, hiding file extensions is bad from a security perspective because you can't tell when a file isn't actually what is seems to be. Your only clue is if the icon doesn't match, but that can easily be changed by a virus author. Many users who were expecting to view an image, video or document ended up getting a virus likely because they couldn't see file extension and realize that file didn't share the same extension as the user's other documents, and instead matches the one for a program. That would have given a clue to a new user that something's up.
Later from Win98 and on, Microsoft would add the "My X" series of folders to try and simplify things further. While not a bad idea on paper, I believe this screwed with some users by thinking everything needs to go into those folders and that you don't have to worry about creating your own folders. I'm sure many users just dropped stuff into those folders and didn't think much of it, not knowing how to organize or create folders. And most programs didn't appear in those folders, so users might not know how to navigate the file explorer outside of the "My Documents" folder, or learn that removing a shortcut doesn't actually remove the program that's associated with it (and that's despite the popup in Windows XP about deleting shortcuts, which just tells you the uninstall control panel setting and not where the program is located.) Sure some users might learn to make their own folders and to organize better, but I'm sure more stubborn people, especially old people, will never realize that and just have their sets of "My" folders be a mess. And not all the "My" folders were used correctly. My Documents isn't "My" Documents any more, as programs would later use it to store stuff like user information, options and plug-ins, making it's purpose more unclear. Nearly everyone's My Downloads folder is a mess after Chrome made it a standard to save everything there rather than ask the user where to save. Lastly the short lived My Games folder, which I'm pretty sure a majority of games didn't actually save anything in there other than a shortcut.
I don't think we really realized the damage this has caused until we reached the smartphone era, where phones just automatically save images, videos and downloads to their own folders, and the file browser is seen as an app to ignore and most people don't know how to use it. Ask any kid or teen if they know how to navigate through their phone's file explorer, and a majority of them will answer no. Simple tasks like transferring files via USB are becoming less and less known with file and music streaming services becoming the norm. Everyone is just letting their phones put files where it wants and aren't really thinking about it. And this might not be too bad of an issue if apps weren't too inconsistent on where to actually place everything. Your camera photos might not be in a folder named "Photos", and are instead in a folder named "DCIM" in the root directory. Your phone might update your camera app too can cause your photos to be saved in an entirely different folder too (that happened to me.) Saved images or ringtones might be in their own weird folders separated from each other even if they are just audio or image files, because that's how they programmed the app. This isn't even a new user issue, it's an issue for everyone because experienced computer users don't even get to choose where an app should save it's stuff. You might not think this is an issue if apps just work fine despite this, but what if your phone gets full and you wanna delete files. Well if it's not related to clearing out cache or deleting apps, you're fucked if you don't know how to navigate through the messy and bloated file browser. I also wonder how much processing power is wasted on the phone searching for these files rather than looking on one or two folders where everything should be.
I could go on and on, but I think I've said enough. Things have been simplified to much to where it no longer teaches people how to use something. "Just ignore, you'll be fine, you're not letting anything build up. Oh is something not working correctly, well then the program just sucks. There's no super easy conversion method that will make the file magically work with the program, it just sucks! Did you get a virus? Well that's not our fault, you should have purchased an anti-virus! What do you mean you thought it was a video?"
Ironically in an attempt to make computers more accessible, we're soon gonna get more people that don't know how folders work.

Hi! I know that you mainly worship Hermes but I noticed that you seem to have some experience with Dionysus as well.
I’m quite new to paganism and witchcraft, so I don’t really know all the ins and outs, but just over a year ago I felt like someone was trying to reach out to me and I noticed some signs and stuff so I did some research and meditations etc. and it seemed like a (non-hellenic) deity that I had a strong interest in was trying to reach out to me, but I wasn’t entirely sure of this but still enthusiastic, a few months later I did some more meditations to contact the deity but their appearance was a bit different and they looked more like they were from the Greek pantheon rather than their own (in the way they were dressed and how their surroundings appeared), I did another meditation afterwards and found out that the deity was Dionysus who said that he was impersonating the other deity to get my attention since he knows how much I love the other pantheon. He also mentioned that he’s been watching me for a while and he’s been trying to get my attention.
Since then I’ve seen some very clear signs that link back to Dionysus, but I’m starting to feel a little skeptical and I wanted to see if you or anyone else has had a similar experience or if this sounds like something he might do, or even if it could potentially be an imposter.
Sorry if this is long I’m just a bit confused and I haven’t yet found anyone else who’s had a similar experience.
Hey there, Nonny! Thank you for the ask! I'm happy to help, no matter if it's long or short. ☺️
If I have your permission, I'd like to do a free tarot reading for you to double-check that this is, in fact, Dionysus. I also suggest doing a reading for yourself, if you are able. Divination is a wonderful tool to double-check these sorts of things, whenever you are unsure.
Another thing to try is praying to Dionysus directly using an epithet of his. Something like Dionysus Staphylites (Of The Grape) should work just fine - any epithet that calls attention the his identity specifically (theoi.com has a list of his epithets here). Ask Dionysus for confirmation that he's the one sending your signs. Whatever confirmation you ask for, remember that a god should never make you feel unsafe, helpless, or bad about yourself; if, at any time, this entity is making you feel that way, I don't believe it's Dionysus.
All of that being said, I have heard of Dionysus impersonating other deities before, either to get a person's attention or even just to joke around. Being the god of madness, it actually doesn't surprise me that he would use this method, despite the protests of other deities (I was told of an experience where he impersonated Hermes once, and Hermes was not fond of this). Dionysus can be pretty spontaneous sometimes, and he makes clever use of his shapeshifting abilities. In my personal opinion, this sounds like something he would do. This sounds like it could be him, but I still suggest using some caution moving forward.
Like I said, I'd be happy to do a free tarot reading for you in DMs or in anon asks - whichever you are most comfortable with - so if you want to reach out again, I'd love to help out more.🧡 I know these situations can be a little scary, but you have nothing to be afraid of. You are capable and strong, and above all, you are not alone.

Hey there :3
I've been a huge fan of your Kintsukuroi 😍
It's been a while since you ended it and I know it was such a huge project!
Buuuuuuuut I've been wondering lately - do you have plans on writing some Zakkura related stories in the near future?
Love, Jenny :3
I did have to rub my eyes to make sure I wasn't hallucinating getting an ask. Thank you for reaching out, Jenny! What an extremely rare delight! It's very lovely of you to say you enjoyed Kintsukuroi. It still holds such a special place in my heart. I might need to re-read it one of these days. Maybe when I've cleared my schedule so I can possibly dive into part two XD I'm a bit flummoxed by your question regarding if I have plans to write more Zakkura because I am currently 15 chapters deep into the weekly posting of my current Zakkura fic, Full Moon's Bane. In fact, chapter 16 will be posted tomorrow.
Perhaps you missed it since I'm posting it under my dark_flan pseudo, though cream_pudding is still attached to it as well.
Full Moon's Bane is a HUGE departure from the type of stories I'm known for writing, so it's understandable if it doesn't appeal to you and you wouldn't have/don't want to click on it. It is omegaverse/monster fuckery. But at its heart it is Zakkura, featuring all the hallmark Cream Pudding bullshittery of the intricate ins and outs of falling in love, not saying what you truly feel until things come to a head, a whole bunch of graphic depictions of sex, with sprinklings of fluff, angst and a whole bunch of hurt/comfort. And it's all wrapped up in Cloud having a wet ass that just wants to be filled by whatever it can get - even if that's a big scary-looking, but actually very nice and sweet wolf creature.
If I still can't entice you to give the story a go (omegaverse always turned me off but I found a way of writing it that hugely appeals to me, ahahah, and hopefully to other people too) I do have Fractals which is a one-shot canon-divergent fix-it fic I wrote for the boys last year. As for near-future... I have no stories lined up for any ship. Editing and posting Full Moon's Bane is a huge undertaking, which requires all my writing attention. I don't think I'll be getting onto any new stories until the last chapter is posted, which is looking to be 31 weeks away with a total of 47 chapters for this story. After that is done, I have some stories for another ship I want to write though I also have a handful of one-shot ideas for Zakkur written down somewhere that I might consider writing depending on what's happening with my writing muses.
Anyway, I hope maybe you'll want to give Full Moon's Bane a go. If not it may be a very long time before I can provide any more written nourishment for this ship. Sorry 😅
Thanks again for reaching out. I really appreciate the interest.
Here is the link to the fic if anyone is interested including all the tags - https://archiveofourown.org/works/44597629

Dev time!
I got around to sitting down at my desk today to work out some of the ins and outs of conveyor belts, and how I might try and implement them.
This has clearly been a solved problem for a long time now. There are countless games that use this game mechanic to let players automate the process of moving things from point A to point B. But it felt like an interesting programming problem to solve.
Since part of the fun of a logistics game is the simple act of connecting things together, the manual placement of belts in the manner of your choosing is a really important factor for me. Making this as frictionless as possible is also important, but that's a problem for another day. For now I needed to consider the actual programming involved.
Conveyor belts don't really come as one whole unit, you typically place them down in segments to creates straights and corners. You can usually upgrade them to faster variants, or ones that carry more items. I'm keeping things simple for my game though.
Since a belt is made up of individual segments, we can already make some assumptions about how a belt works:
We know that a belt segment either has an item on top, or it's empty.
An item can only exist on top of one belt segment at a time.
An item takes a fixed period of time to transit across a single belt segment.
An item will either be passed on to an adjacent belt, or stop (or, get passed into a machine).
With these rules in mind, it seems reasonably easy to see how a belt actually works in code. Even moving an item on a belt becomes trivial, because we can consider the 'start' of the belt as zero, and the 'end' as 1. There's some normalisation math happening here that takes into account the elapsed time between game logic loops, but it's pretty straightforward.
Tumblr media
When an item is placed on a belt, it will travel from the belt's start (0) position to its end (1) position. Once it reached the end, it will 'hand off' the item to a neighbouring conveyor belt segment. If no such belt exists, we can just stop the item from moving any further, and the belt remains at position '1' (stuck).
We can then just add a bit more code to prevent handing an item off to a neighbouring belt segment if it already contains an item.
Extending this a bit further should make it fairly easy to create zig-zagging chains of belts.
Tumblr media
I'm pretty keen to get a prototype of this working. I've set up a bare bones Unity project with a basic grid layout. I'll be adding some code to let me put down some placeholder 'belt' segments and change their direction. I'll add some other code to let me click to add an item onto a belt as well, which should test how it all works.
Tumblr media
A basic unity project where I've set up a grid that will serve as the placement snapping guide. The intention here is to be able to click and place conveyor belt segments.
I enjoy these kinds of programming problems. They're not super complex, but still require a bit of forward thinking.
There will, of course be edge cases for the resulting game. What happens when the user tries to destroy or modify a belt segment whilst it has items on? Deny the action? Allow it and destroy the item? Refund the item to the player? These are questions that can be dealt with later, thankfully, and will be very dependent on what kind of player experience I'm after.
That's probably it for now. Hopefully the next update will have some sort of prototype attached!

Neglect
Another snippet from my Found Family AU. This takes place after Vehicular Accident from day 22
"How are you guys doing in here?" Patton asked from the doorway of Janus and Virgil's shared bedroom.
"He's finally asleep," Janus answered. "How's Remus?"
"Upset, but he's asleep too. For now. Mind if I join you for a minute?"
Janus nodded. "Sure."
Patton nearly collapsed into the desk chair. "How are you doing, Janus?"
The teen's eyes narrowed. "You said that weird."
Patton laughed tiredly. "I did. But I remember what it's like to be the oldest middle child. It's a special kind of neglected and I can say that because I've been in just about every sibling role there is. You get a lot of the same pressure as the oldest, but with almost none of the recognition. You end up picking up a of slack from the oldest, filling in the gaps for them. We try really hard to avoid those kinds of dynamics and not put the responsibility of raising you guys on yourselves, but I know we're not perfect at it. And I don't want you to feel or to be neglected in that way with us. So from one eldest middle child to another. Are you okay?"
Janus was quiet a moment and glanced over at Virgil's form. "I don't know," he said softly. "I'm worried about Logan and Roman and I want them to come home, but...it feels too big to know for sure. Just. Vaguely relieved they're okay."
"That makes a lot of sense. I'm really proud of you for the way you stepped up to help Virgil and even me earlier. I'm really grateful that you did. And I know you've know Virgil since before you were with us and I know you have a good relationship, but it was a very grown up thing of you to do. Which is really why I wanted to come check in with you. You shouldn't have to be so grown up and I'm sorry that you got stuck there today."
Janus smiled wrly. "I do have only just over a year before I'm legally an adult, but I appreciate the sentiment."
"Maybe legally, but we both know you've been grown up for a lot longer than that and I'm sorry for that too."
"It's not your fault. You're right I am, but I've also been able to reclaim a little bit of being a kid here. And sure, you guys aren't perfect, but the one thing I've never felt here is neglected. It's still overwhelming sometimes because I'm so used to the neglect that it's weird when it's not there. I shouldn't be at this point, but I'm kind of surprised you came to check on me. Because I'm just...used to people not caring."
"The tools you used to survive neglect, like maybe shutting down your emotions," Patton said gently, but pointedly, "are still going to be the easiest ones to access when big scarry things happen. I still reach for them. Rewiring the brain takes a lot of hard work and when the thing you're trying to rewire it from is being neglected and ignored, it's really hard to reach out for help. So I know I sound like a broken record with this, but my door is always open to you, at any time. I am here for you, if you need to talk, if you need a hug, of you just need someone to sit in silence with you, I am here. And if it helps, I can do check-ins like this with you more often."
"I would appreciate that. I think it'll be a little uncomfortable, but I think it's the warm water on cold hands uncomfortable."
"I understand that. You can tell me to take a step back if you need too. Is there anything else you want to talk about?"
"I think I'm a little scared. Scared about how Virgil's going to be for the next few days, scared how Roman and Logan being hurt might make things change, especially if...it's more serious than they think."
"Those are really valid worries. Unfortunately, I think that those are just going to have to be things that we deal with one step at a time. We can't really plan for them because they are unpredictable. Logan does have a pretty sever concussion and he's probably going to need a bit of help for a while. Whatever happens with Logan and Roman, though, you don't have to help Virgil on your own. You're right this is probably going to be incredibly difficult on him, but you don't have to support him on you're own. And you don't have to support youself on your own either, okay?"
"Thanks, Patton. I do want to say I'm fully acknowledging the irony in what I'm about to say given the whole 'you're supposed to be a kid thing', but you need to go to sleep too. You look exhausted."
Patton laughed. "Well, at least yourself away."
"I think my therapist would disagree. But really, go get some rest while you can. Sleep while the babies sleep and all that."
"That's kinda mean, but I'll allow it." Patton stood and stretched his arms over his head. "Make sure you get some rest too."
"I will," Janus promised. "Night, Patt. Thanks for not neglecting me."
Patton snorted. "You're welcome. It's literate very least I could do." He kissed the top of Janus’s head. "Love ya, kiddo, sleep well."
"Love you too, Patt. Get some rest."

relationships
robbed directly from my toyhou.se. also hey 300+ posts!
(sorry if the french is incorrect i used yandex translation...)
Noemia -> Alex
"ALEX!!!!!!!!!"
[ The two of them haven't really been the same ever since their enlistment in the Luminarche military, but Noêmia still loves him all the same. While she's busy with work, she always tries to find some space in her busy schedule to meet with him… it's just been difficult. She misses her best friend! ]
Alex -> Noemia
"Noêmia!"
[ The two of them have been friends since their teens. She'd always been there for him, but life has been busy and they haven't properly caught up in a while. Alex hopes to spend more time with her because life just isn't the same without his crazy best friend. ]
Esra -> Alex
"Ça va? I'm worried about you…" (Are you okay? I'm worried about you…)
[ Alex is his older brother. While they haven't talked in a while, he knows that Alex will always be there for him if he needs it, just like he had always been when they were little. Still, it's hard for him to reach out when Alex seems to be so far away. He knows that it's been difficult, but he wants to see him get better. ]
Alex -> Esra
"Esra, s'il te plaît, ne t'en fais pas pour moi. Occupe-toi plutôt de toi." (Esra, please don't worry about me. Take care of yourself instead.)
[ Esra is his younger brother. While they didn't grow up as closely as he'd like, Alex hopes that one day he can just sit down and talk to him, just to catch up and finally get to know his brother properly. But with the weight of life sitting on his shoulders, he finds it more and more difficult with every passing day… ]
Jerome -> Alex
"On t'aime, Alex. Don't forget that." (We love you, Alex. Don't forget that.)
[ Alex is his son. Though Alexandre was adopted as a teen, Jerome loves him as if he'd always been there since the beginning. Nowadays, though, he worries about Alex's growing distance to everything. While he urges him to find help, he's concerned that he's not getting through to him anymore. ]
Alex -> Jerome
"… Merci, papa." (… Thank you, dad.)
[ Jerome's his dad. He appreciates him for what he's done and the advice he's given him as he grew up through the years, but Alex finds himself so far from his teachings that it sometimes hurts to even look at his father in the eyes anymore. He's a lot harder on himself than Jerome ever was. ]
Chanda -> Alex
"Tu ressembles à une morte, Alexandre. Manges-tu?" (You look like death, Alexandre. Have you been eating?)
[ Alex is her son. He was adopted by her and her husband in the midst of his adolescence, but she loves him all the same. Though she finds it difficult to express herself, she tries her hardest in her own way. When she heard her son left the military completely changed, she nearly broke into tears and promised herself that she would help him in any way she could. But when the distance between him and the rest of her family widens, she can't help but feel that things might be too late. ]
Alex -> Chanda
"… J'ai pas faim." (… I'm not hungry.)
[ Chanda is his mom. Being the matriarch, she's a very stoic person that doesn't seem to express much emotion. It doesn't bother him; after all, he's much the same. He knows she loves him as much as he does her. But lately, he feels like he's too much of a burden to reach out and too much of a burden to reach out at all. His mom has enough on her plate as it is; she doesn't need more. ]
Alex -> John
"Another drink? I'll have to take you home at this rate, won't I?"
[ They first met at the club, but after a few more run-ins, Alex found company in the slightly eccentric man. He finds his presence comforting in an odd way, as the two of them can talk about basically anything. Still, there's a part of him that feels that there's something more to him that the other isn't letting on. It's probably not a good time to ask right now, though. ]
John -> Alex
"Hah! If you're offering, I won't say no."
[ They first met at the club, but John never really expected to see him again after that night. But after so many more run-ins, he found himself a bit endeared to the other in a way he can't describe. It's nice, John finds, to have someone seem to actually enjoy being around him… but he's not really sure if it's just because of convenience. ]

the main question about your ex is if the reason you guys broke up is something y’all could work on or if it was a big no-no, and if it was the latter, BLOCK HIS ASS and DON’T TEXT HIM. If it was the former…….... interesting 😏
also it’s me the anon who asked about vaginismus and I’m highkey a basic whore for rooster and hangman but they got me in a chokehold, though I do 👀 at Natasha because… who wouldn’t?? i guess in my head I would love to see how any character accommodates a partner with vaginismus, though I’m aware the condition has varying levels of severity 🤔 either way, whatever you choose to write, I’m excited to see 👀
- k, because “the anon who came from clints-lucky-arrow asking about top gun and reader with vaginismus” is kind of wordy I think-
Hi again! To be honest, he's in the military and the reason we broke up was because he was going to be gone for work for most of summer last year and he wouldn't be around. He made that decision, decided it was unfair to me & I was totally blindsided. I would've waited for him -- I kind of have been, regardless. He's casually reached out in the past year via instagram but it's random check-ins that come out of nowhere & he eventually stops responding to and doesn't say his intention. So, I've just messaged him saying that while I love hearing from him, I need to know what his intentions are: to be friendly, to try & see one another again, or something else so that I don't get hung up on the why & the what-if. I'd potentially give it a try again if we both decided to again, since it felt very "right person wrong time" with us before. But I can't make any decisions if he doesn't lay his cards on the table. These casual check-ins only bring him to the forefront of my mind again & it's not great being continually hit up and then ghosted again. So it definitely is...interesting lol (this is also why my Rooster x reader plot-line in HeartFirst is so personal)
But okay back to the vaginismus blurb! This is all good to know -- I think I might be leaning towards Rooster but I also might try writing for Hangman & Natasha too and see which one inspires me the most to continue. I'll likely base it around what I know and what I've experienced with partners in the past and my own symptoms of vaginismus. But it'll be fluffy and sweet and understanding, bc that's what we deserve <3333
Ty for following up, k, happy to have u here :)
