Can you give your take on this? Because for the life of me I can’t comprehend why lily started dating James right after the worst memory.

Like yeah you’re upset and rightfully fair too, but I feel like she sorta had a liking for James way before the whole thing with sev, like she must’ve thought he’s amusing or something, and I kinda feel like severus might have seen it too, but of course that’s just my thinking.

Correction: She didn’t actually date James right after SWM, she began dating him in 7th year, which was around 2 years after SWM occurred. I don’t think she could be that cruel to date James right after he did something that awful to Snape lol.

I do think she was at least attracted to James during SWM, JKR herself has even confirmed that Lils somewhat fancied James during that period (“You’re a woman, you know what I mean!” no.. no I don’t, JKR 🤨). Her behaviour with James in SWM was concerning as hell, her best friend was legitimately on the ground after just having been choked with soapsuds and her first reaction was to not even glance at him and automatically start bickering with James and talking about his broomstick and his “stupid hair.” 💀 like Lily ily but.. wtf are you doing??

But to be fair to Lils, when she dated James, she genuinely thought he had changed and became a better person. She wouldn’t have dated him if he was still bullying Snape and other people, she would’ve still been attracted to him like she was in SWM, but she wouldn’t have actually gone out with him. However, my issue with that is the fact that she was willing to go out with him AFTER she saw that he SA’d and bullied her (at the time) best friend for YEARS. Lames shippers like to say “oh but she and Snape weren’t friends anymore!! She didn’t ‘owe him anything!’” but like.. at the time, Snape was her best friend of 7 years, and James (knowing that they were friends) had no issue blatantly torturing him and publicly exposing him and then blackmailed Lily (not Snape, but Lily herself) into going out with him. This isn’t an issue about Snape or them not being friends anymore or whatever, it’s the fact that James—at least at one point of his life—had literally zero issue hurting the person Lily cared about and blackmailing her and threatening to hex her. The fact that he was even capable of SA, choking someone with soapsuds, immobilising them, relentlessly bullying them for years, all while knowing that they were someone Lily cared about, should have sent her running for the HILLS. All of that is putting aside that he also had no problem blackmailing Lily and then threatening to hex her when she wanted to defend her friend (“?? wtf girl? How dare you try to help out your friend after I just SA’d them and blackmailed you?? You better not make me hex you too 😠”).

And to make things worse…… what did James even do to change?? Stop bullying people?? Wow so incredible of him! That’s definitely going to reverse the damage of the people he did all that shit to! We should all applaud him for doing the absolute bare minimum!! I should definitely look past him assaulting my now-ex-best-friend-but-who-was-still-someone-I-cared-about-and-respected-at-one-point-in-my-life for 6 whole years, even though he never actually apologised to my now-ex-best-friend… which… would’ve been the proof that he actually changed… Oh who cares? I’m definitely going to date him anyway!

Like, I don’t even care if I wasn’t friends with that person anymore, the fact that YOU had no problem assaulting that person and making their life miserable for YEARS even though you know how much I care about them and then trying to force me into going out with you would be enough for me to not want to go out with you. Simply knowing that you were capable of doing such atrocious things to ANY human being is horrifying. That isn’t even regarding that he showed no hard evidence of changing, merely stopping the bullying does nothing to heal the victim of what you put them through. Like, if I went out and killed a bunch of people, and I suddenly decide to stop killing people, does that mean I’m not guilty of murder?

So, I don’t hate Lily, but I’m definitely not fond of her character. All her scenes show her being pretty unpleasant and she ended up marrying JAMES of all people, so yeah I’m definitely not going to think very highly of her intelligence level…

Anyway, that’s my take. I’m sorry for how long this got, but your ask really triggered something in me that’s been waiting to rant about this 💀

okay, hear me out. S3 rewrite with Billy in Robin’s role while the Mindflayer makes Neil it’s host.

like, picture it for a sec: we’d get the Billy-Steve friendship we deserved, we’d have an actual human antagonist who was shown to be canonically abusive and controlling in S2, and Billy could be a reluctant (but important) addition to The Party for S4. he’s the brawn and brains that they need.

things to consider:

we’d get Steve and Billy in matching Scoops Ahoy uniforms. maybe they both applied as lifeguards but had a fight in front of the manager so they both didn’t get the position, and they applied everywhere in Starcourt once it opened and surprise!! they were both hired at Scoops and now they have to get along or else they’ll be broke the whole summer!

Billy watching in amusement as Steve fails to hook up with girls, maybe he even makes the same scoreboard. there also wouldn’t be a need to have the moms lusting over Billy bc he has no reason to meet Karen at the motel - no predatory behaviour from her in this timeline!!

imagine the banter. billy would have something to say to everyone and it would be so funny, especially between he and Max. give me one proper sibling fight please!

while a coming out scene would be great for Billy, and i would love to see Steve react to that (like, his reaction to a gay woman he had a crush on would be sooo different from a gay man he used to beef with, let’s be real), i also want more depth from Billy since he’s not flayed and El wouldn’t be looking into his past for us. so maybe instead of a coming out scene, they talk about the fight at the Byers’ during the bathroom scene. we get a glimpse into Billy’s carefully guarded emotions (maybe even his relationship w his dad) and both Steve and Billy get to move on from that night. closure and moving on from it together as newfound friends!

Billy could be shown that he is actually a smart cookie and cracks the Russian’s code (with Steve’s help). Dustin and Steve are impressed and Dustin begins to warm up to Billy a little.

new Scoops Troop!! Billy and Steve and Dustin dynamic omg. and Erica and Billy?? imagine she kinda confronts him about what happened with him and Lucas in S2, so she’s uncertain of him bc of that, but now Billy has the chance to make things right and clear up misunderstandings. and in this timeline, he apologizes to Lucas. because Lucas deserves that so. much. and Billy should have the chance to become a better person like Steve did. and maybe Lucas doesn’t forgive him, which is justified bc he doesn’t have to forgive him at all, but he gets the apology he deserves at the very least.

Steve and Billy getting tortured together oof. that would hit hard bc imagine Billy is being punched and slapped and he’s just laughing and taunting and Steve’s like wtf. it would be a great set up for the bathroom scene - like ‘why were you laughing while we were being literally tortured??’

Billy getting to see Steve draw a charge during his ‘fight’ with the Russian soldier and being proud of him, clapping him on the back with a grin while Steve gives him a shy smile. perhaps even…a meaningful, lingering look?? a spark between them??

also Steve and Billy high as fuck together lol i just want that so bad, please!!

and while Billy is with the Scoops Troop, The Party is focused on Neil. it would be a great chance to see Max’s relationship with her step father and she notices how weird he’s being. he’s nicer to Susan, even nicer to her, but then her mom starts acting weird, too. and when she finally meets up with Billy at Starcourt when the Mindflayer manifests, they discuss everything and Billy is conflicted. he’s happy that his old man is finally getting what’s been coming to him all these years, but that’s still his dad. it’s complicated but not really touched upon but implied. (and i think that would also be a great set up for S4. he gets those weird feelings in S4, thinking ‘i wanted him to die’ but also feeling guilt because his relationship with his father is so twisted from years of abuse).

we could explore Neil’s past a bit with this timeline, too. we could get a glimpse of why he is the way he is, like we did with Billy. El could see the abuse he put Billy and his mom through. she sympathizes with Billy, but she also sees how Neil was abused, too, and feels this empathy for him. which is how she brings him out of the possession, because El is empathetic by nature, under all that anger and naivety. she knows what it’s like to abuse and be abused and want to be better than those who hurt her. and when Neil does break through, he is killed just like Billy was in S3, and Billy runs over once his dad flops to the ground. Neil grits out ‘i’m sorry’ but Billy doesn’t say anything, doesn’t forgive him. he doesn’t even cry. he just…stares, looking like the lost little boy he’s always been. and Max finally runs over to pull her brother up, to drag them both away from Neil, and Billy can’t look away from his dad’s body until it’s finally out of sight.

and ofc the season ends with Steve and Billy both working at Family Video!! with Neil and Susan gone (she would’ve been part of the MF’s army), it’s just Billy and Max now, living in that trailer. that would be such an interesting dynamic to write for S4.

anyways that’s all!! that’s my silly rewrite. Billy deserved to have a support system and a real relationship with his sister and a boy his age and it could’ve been done in S3. 🤍

MHA chapter 415 leaks

A lot of the problems I have with this chapter are already ones that I talked about in previous chapter posts which can be found here 👇

However I still wanna talk about things that I don't like in this chapter.

1) the memory sharing thing and how random it is. I stand by the point that this plot point came out of nowhere, is a speedy and cheap way to try and build up what little development izuku and shigarakis dynamic lacks. The memories that are being shared also seem very inconsistent like why did one memory trigger another? It makes no sense why Izuku's fight with todoroki would ultimately trigger the usj and why the fight itself would be triggered by a convo that stain and shigaraki have. In my opinion, this is also a very good way for hori to just show off how he has improved his own art and be like "oh look at how good my art is now" which kinda sucks because we don't get any story but just some cool looking manga chapters

2) power of rejection?!?! Seems like a fancy plot armour for izuku not to lose all of his quirks to me🤷‍♀️. The power of rejection just sounds like such a cliche way to be like oh izuku won't lose his quirk to plot armour because he physically cannot lose his quirks since shigaraki is rejecting them. Like seriously what is it with Izuku not being able to keep his powers and we are just having him HAVE TO PASS DOWN HIS QUIRK FOR NO REASON?!?!?! you already passed down the quirk that caused the most distress aka kudos so won't izuku suffer even more if he passed down blackwhip which is the quirk that is keeping him both alive and is giving him the ability to move like why would izuku the and transfer that?!?! Seems stupid to me 😭 and low-key further reinforces the idea that the power of rejection is (A) there a plot point introduced to make it so that izuku doesn't lose his quirks and (B) so horikoshi can still create intense looking manga pages that he won't be able to create if izuku can't use his quirks anymore.

3) The unnerving focus on the police officer who took Tenko home. This manga page low-key confirmed the one theory that was like the police officer is afo and that AFO gave tomura his quirk which if it is true just doesn't line up or make sense when it comes to canon. I see how this theory can help develop both the parallels further in fanon but in canon it just damages tomura's character and its like an excuse that we should pity shigaraki even more because this police guy who was supposed to help him was a villain who gave him a destructive quirk and made him go insane /cause his families deaths. This also takes away from the half baked plot point that the gene for quirks actually heavily influence behaviour but if this theory is true then shigaraki just wants destruction because he wants destruction 🤷‍♀️ nothing more and nothing less.

4) Eri becoming relevant to the plot now? I have already said this and I will say it again Eri's quirk is too narrative breaking and too powerful. You literally cannot have the plot go on since we discovered that Eri can legit just rewind people to a time they were at their prime like she did with mirio. This brings up the question as to why she didn't do this with aizawa or all might and therefore her quirk could be used to make the series and characters have no long lasting concequences. Also how are the heroes so irresponsible thaT THEY COULD LET A CHILD SIMPLY RUN INTO A DANGEROUS AND TERRIFYING BATTLE FIELD LIKE WHATS WRONG WITH YOU ECTOPLASM DO SOMETHING YOURE SUPPOSED TO PROTECT THE CHILD ARENT YOU?!?!?!!? also this is such a shame Eri could of actually been a very good character who symbolised the traumatic events that victims of hero society faced and how young children could be kidnapped and exploited for powerful quirks however instead of getting anything like that we just get Eri BECOMING A TOOL FOR THE HEROES WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT SHE WAS Traumatised TO DO DUE TO OVERHAUL MAKING HER A TOOL FOR HIM AND NOTHING ELSE?!?!? talk about double standards. This is also making the Eri will rewind shigaraki into Tenko theory much more plausible and I hate that theory for so many reasons. However, it's either this or the theory that she will have to separate Izuku and shigaraki BECAUSE FOR SOME forsaken REASON THOSE TWO ARE SOMEHOW MERGING AND BECOMING THE SAME PERSON LIKE THAT MAKES ANY SENSE

5) where did the damage that kudos quirk was supposed to do to shigaraki go? Is it me but I seriously don't see shigaraki getting any damaged or recoil from kudos quirk like I could see some of it from the last chapter where shigaraki was somewhat struggling but that's it nothing else. Shigaraki can now fight perfectly fine and isn't getting the recoil hit if a nuke something that izuku was suffering with the majority of the fight which just seems unfair at this point like?!?! Its also another example of how hori fails at show don't tell

Seriously I still don't like the leaks but at least we got my girl hatsume and la brava that's the only good thing I can think about when it comes to these leaks.

Similar reaction as Michael if you use it against him but more of a 'wtf did I do wrong' reaction but will get annoyed later on if you keep it up, will probably scream "STOP GIVING ME THAT ATTITUDE Y/N." but you know he won't lay bad hands on you though. Won't stop you if you say sum' to someone, he may not know it but he's so like you.

Vincent is more of a 'y/n, why would you talk like that?' wonders if something is bothering you because bo gets sarcastic too when something irritates him. If you tell him you aren't and are just always like this in your own way he would just be relieved, actually finds it funny. He was sitting on the couch and then you and bo came inside and were screaming at each other (playfully) about something and he just tries to hold in his laugh because it's funny seeing his hotheaded twin argue with a child. Pretty okay with it as long as you don't act mean to him or else he's just gonna pick you by your shirt and plop you out of the basement for about 2 days as punishment.

At first Lester was like 'are you angry me at me :(?'. But then learned it was your normal behaviour and got chill with it, I mean it's not like he can't handle two sarcastic angy kids. He has his hand over his mouth and thinks 'slay' or just yells "BUURRNN" when you show that girl/boy/bad boss attitude to someone. Feels really hurt when you become sarcastic towards him though. Yesterday I attended the Dir en grey concert, and I wanted to write about my experience.

My very first Dir en grey concert wasn’t that great of an experience.. unfortunately..

First we waited in the VIP line just to get cut in line by a bunch of people that had written numbers on their wrist (wtf..) some of them came like 10 minutes before entry time. I guess we are fools that should be okay to wait for hours in the cold and rain.

Then after we went inside I found a place in front of Kyo. After they took away the line that separated VIP and priority ticket holders. Some of them instantly pushed everybody very hard to get to the front rows. They literally pushed and crushed us, Lol, and didn’t even care if I confronted them, just acted as if they couldn’t hear me. My brother told me that one of them grabbed his b.lls, wtf for real. Some people just should get help. 

Through the things I heard them talk before the show, it was clear that they weren’t there for the art & music .. they attended all of the European shows but still act that way, let other people enjoy too.. truly disrespectful, they just make the experience unenjoyable for people..

It’s just funny to me how much they try to please Kyo instead of enjoying the show. One of them was shouting all the time Kyo’s name with a voice out of a horror movie lol.

One of them elbowed my eye trying to catch Toshiya’s pick and didn’t even bother to say sorry.

I was kinda in shock with these girls behaviours during the whole show.

Well some people might think that these things are normal during metal shows, but I think everybody should be able to enjoy these lives. My mother who isn’t very young also wanted to come, but was afraid to get hurt and was right.. I’m glad I didn’t take her with us.

Now I truly understand why the band members don’t want to take pictures anymore..

I am utterly disappointed and disgusted

I will NEVER attend a Dir en grey show in Europe again.

Well at least the music was very good, and all of the members were kind and respectful.

There will be people claiming that you should have expected this from a metal show, but there is nevertheless basic decency to be expected from every human and it sounds like the people you mentioned trampled on it.

It's not guaranteed in Japanese shows either, but the crowd moves more homogeneously there, from what I have experienced.

I'm sorry but your post about Aging Up characters delegitimises hundreds upon thousands of fanfictions across all fandoms and is a ridiculous ask. You're basically asking all fans to only write about the adult characters in NSFW situations - even if the teen character is now an adult in the fic??? So we can't explore how the teen now struggles with life as an adult, including new adventures or settings, because its somehow problematic??? Even though I'm not a big horror fan myself (thank you for tagging it accordingly), I love Yellowjackets. Natalie was my fave, and even though I'm a grown-ass 40 years old woman, I was so upset by her death that I dreamed the following night that they could save her. I agree with you that season one was better, even though I liked season two as well (Natalie's death was an exception, they did Misty very dirty with it, and that random attack by Lisa was weird and didn't feel inherent).

I knew Lottie wasn't the Antler Queen, but I was in the dark who was supposed to be then, did you know it, or have you guessed it, bc it came to me in surprise. :)

So yeah, my rant is over, and I'm sorry if I bored you but I needed this out of my system.

Hi - first of all thank you for sending this ask it's always lovely to have nice messages like this and you definitely didn't bore me 🥰

I am still pretty upset about Nat's death as well and I agree the whole thing was very weird and felt contrived. I understand if Juliet wanted out of the show (which I have suspected since some of the comments she made in season 1, which made me think Natalie dying was a big possibility) but I just wish they had taken actual care and respect to the character when killing her off you know? It all feels mean spirited and disrespectful to me, which is crazy since apparently they had a meaner cut where everyone on the plane laughs at her (wtf?)

I was pretty surprised by Nat being the antler queen and I thought it was an interesting turn of events. In general I still quite enjoyed the first half of season 2, but around episode 5 or 6 I started to find the show a lot less enjoyable and felt like there were a lot of problems with the season and its pacing. For example, I really enjoyed Tai's character in season 1, but I feel her storyline in season 2 was really lacklustre and a lot of her agency was taken away. Everything is explained away as a 'dark, other tai' which feels lazy and kinda feels like backtracking since I feel the implication in the season 1 finale was that she did a ritualistic sacrifice to win the senate race. I would've liked them to explore a bit more of her as a senator since they spent much of season 1 on the senate race and I also find it so weird that Simone is literally never seen again in the season after she was shown in a coma. Character motivations also feel all over the place and I feel like the characters in the adult storyline have big swings in their behaviours which feels weird since that storyline for the season only spans a week.

These are just a couple of examples where I feel the storytelling and pacing just feels really disjointed. I've heard that they originally had 10 main episodes and a lot was cut from the season, and I think the season really suffered from this (I'm not referring to the bonus cabin episode). So yeah... sorry I ranted a bit in return.

He’s complaining to Nick how he allegedly “took” Charlie and Imogen from him while it was his own shitty behaviour that made both of them realise that they were better off without him in their lives which is not Nick’s “fault” but solely because Ben is a shitty person.

Nick didn’t “mess up [you] life” Ben, you did that all on yourself!! Also look at how you messed up Charlie and Imogen’s life for fucks sake and don’t be so fucking self-centred!

And then Nick is making such a good point about how Ben was just using both of them and he goes “what if I said I want Charlie back”?????? Like as if that was actually an option???? As if Charlie would take an asshole who made him feel bad and assaulted him over the absolutely precious human being that is Nick Nelson????? Wtf?!?!

And poor Nick is just so done with talking to this dickhead and Ben tries to explain how he was “dealing with his own shit back then” as if he ever properly acknowledged that he assaulted Charlie (sorry if that’s not the right word, English isn’t my mother tongue) or even properly apologised to Charlie but instead went and emotionally hurt Imogen? In what world is he qualified to be someone’s partner, let alone Charlie’s??

And then he’s accusing Charlie to not have given him the chance to figure himself out while that is not what happened. As you can see in his relationship with Nick, he’s more than willing to give time to someone who’s actively figuring himself out but while that might have been part of what was going on with Ben, he was also just taking advantage of Charlie without being respectful towards him at all!

And Ben saying Nick “stole” Charlie from him is not only not true (because Charlie freely chose Nick) but also that’s literally not how relationships work. People are no objects, you can’t just “steel” someone and in a healthy relationship both people should agree to be in it without anyone “possessing” each other. And while yeah, this idea of belonging to someone and stealing someone is kinda normalised in our society, in my eyes this just shows again how toxic Ben is ans how he doesn’t actually value Charlie as a human being.

And the “Charlie really liked me before you got in his head”??? For real?? Charlie might’ve really liked you but he for sure didn’t like having to sneak around and feeling like your “dirty little secret” while you were happily together with your girlfriend and just used him for your desires!! >:((

And if Nick helped him to see how bad that was and how much nicer an actual relationship with actual mutual respect can be, then that’s not “getting in his head”, that’s simply showing him how bad you treated him and that he deserved better!!!!!!

Also the comment about the hickey was so uncalled for! Nick didn’t intend to do that and Ben knows nothing about the situation and just uses this to make Nick feel bad. Also this implies that it Ben would’ve given Charlie a hickey he would’ve placed it somewhere where it would’ve immediately be visible which gives a weirdly fucked up vibe to me, idk.

Your last post about never drinking anything men give you reminds me of that time, it was New Year’s Eve and me and a friend wanted to go to this underground party (it was well known in our city and it was predominantly gay/bi people going there) and another friend of mine was going to meet us there. Fkg hell, she meets up with us and she’s completely hammered already, the night didn’t even start yet and she can’t really stand on her own I’m like ?? Okay… but that’s not what pissed me off tho, it was the fact that HER friends (which I barely knew, I only ever seen them on social media) literally just left her to be all alone mind you she came to the party with those girls and while we were waiting to get into the club, my friend just basically blacked out/passes out on the snow and her friends just went inside and left her?? If me and my other friend wouldn’t have been there she would have stayed there laying in the snow outside that club, how can anyone do that? And when we tried to get her friends they were like “she needs to go home” girl how??! She couldn’t even tell us her address. Just how can you just leave someone like that and still find it in you to go and have fun, literally no concern for this girl. Me and my friend had to take her back to her place and we did, we made sure to get her home safe and she didn’t even remember how she got home when she woke up the next day, me and my friend never even got into the party since we went home after all that (we woke up at least 2 people trying to find her apartment since we finally got her adress but not the apt number, it was such a mess, we had to carry her up two floors too 😂 thinking back it was kinda funny but the whole just leaving an incapacitated girl alone still makes me go wtf?) this is kind of a random story but I will never understand women who do shit like that and I will never fuck with women like that, even if I don’t know her I wouldn’t just leave a girl like that truly despicable behaviour. My friend felt really bad but I was more glad that she ended up in MY hands rather than some random, god knows what could have happened.

Idk if you’re a new follower, but I was in a similar situation this past august and was sexually assaulted. I went out with a group of “friends” to a club. I end up getting blackout drunk (or was possibly drugged, i’m not sure. I take antidepressants though so its very easy for me to blackout from only a few drinks) I ended up being assaulted by a man in the bathroom and then later a different man took me to his apartment and assaulted me there. I don’t remember much of it. The next morning when I stumbled home the first thing my roommate said to me was “You’re not allowed to hang out with us anymore. You drink too much and no one wants to babysit you” he never asked where I went or what happened to me. We had been friends for 6 years. He still doesn’t know. I don’t live with him anymore and haven’t talked to that friend group since. Sometimes I really want to call them up and tell them what really happened so they can live with the guilt…

Moral of the story: PLEASE look out for your friends and other women in general when going out because this shit happens all the time and you never think it could happen to you.
