the table scene in attack on titan season 4 hits just as hard the second time. even though eren has already gone so far off into the deep end by that point, that’s still the moment where you’re like ‘WOW i really hate this motherfucker’

One of the many things I like about the Connie-laughing-at-Annie-eating-pie scene is how we get a brief glimpse of Armin's protective side free of his usual self-sacrificial tendencies.
Because he doesn't think of himself as someone who can protect others. Armin sees himself as weaker than everyone else, lacking the ability to be someone stronger (say Reiner for example) and more confident (say Jean) who can protect others much better. The fact is that he's always been very protective of everyone he cares about; it's only that this trait of his character tends to show up most often at the sacrificial end of the spectrum. I think it tends to draw our attention away from his protective nature and puts greater focus on how little he values his life instead.
We see him always trying to get the others out of danger, starting with getting Hannes to come rescue Eren and Mikasa when Shiganshina fell, convincing the garrison not to kill Eren (tho his idea in this situation was to put himself directly in front of the cannons), sending Mikasa off in Trost with his blades, punching Eren for Mikasa, putting himself in front of Muller's guns at the end, so on and so forth etc etc, there are a million situations honestly---and in all of them, he tries to protect the others the only way he thinks he's capable of: by being the bait.
Which is why it always makes me so happy to see the pie scene, where you have a starving Annie stuffing her cheeks with pie, Connie making fun of her, and Armin's immediate reaction is to put himself between her and his harmless friend and indignantly yell, "She hasn't eaten in four years Connie, stop laughing at her!"
(Like, nevermind the fact that he's seeing Annie "alive" after four years, his girl's honour comes first lol. I bet he thought: I must protecc her chipmunk cheeks).
For once we see him defending someone without offering himself up in the process. It's just such a wholesome moment where we get to know that he's naturally protective, and in a light-hearted situation that doesn't drag his self-loathing and insecurities to the surface, "sacrifice myself" isn't the damned first thing on his mind.
How many more traits we'd able to see, both new and existing ones in a different light, if he'd been able to live in a way that didn't constantly fuel his hatred for himself?

Eremika Role Reversal WIP Segment
It's Mikasa Week on Twitter and I was really trying to get this fic done in time for it but it's ended up being a lot more than I anticipated, so I'm sharing this portion of the rough draft because I still want to celebrate Mikasa, who is a perfect angel and has never done anything wrong in her life.
There's no context needed. This is from the start of the WIP onward.
The door swings open and slams into the wall, rattling the paintings that hang there in the luxurious suite.
“What the fuck were you thinking?” Armin shouts, storming into the room, his eyes blazing with fury and panic. “Do you even know what you’ve done?”
Eren is on his feet in an instant, his eyes hard and dark, his teeth set into a snarl, stalking towards him, wolflike and dangerous, putting his body between Armin and the pale, black-haired girl beyond. It is still strange to Armin, seeing Eren like this: glaring at him with two gleaming eyes, standing there without his prosthesis or his crutch. Armin’s eyes linger for a disoriented moment on the strange curve of calf and shin that fills out Eren’s pant leg before he comes back to himself and turns his attention to the young woman beyond. At the window seat, Mikasa has barely moved, her eyes still trained on the desolation below. Armin’s stomach twists, fresh anguish and rage coursing through him. He doesn't recognize either of his two best friends anymore. He doesn’t know where he fits in this new hell they have created.
“Mikasa!” Armin shouts.
“Get out,” Eren growls. “If you’re here to act superior, just go.”
“I won’t,” Armin snaps. “I need to talk to Mikasa.”
Mikasa turns towards the commotion, watching them both with shadowed eyes, her lips pulling into a frown.
“Armin?” she says. “How long have you been here?”
“Do you know how many years of diplomacy you’ve just wasted?” he demands, ignoring her question, pushing past Eren. Eren grabs his wrist, restraining him, squeezing far tighter than he needs to, his fingertips digging into Armin’s skin hard enough to bruise. Armin ignores the pain. “Do you know how many people you’ve slaughtered, Mikasa?”
“They were coming to kill you,” Mikasa says, faintly, her cheeks fading to an even whiter cast. “They…”
“Leave. Now,” Eren instructs, swinging Armin around and shoving him towards the door. “She needs to rest.”
“She needs to answer for her crimes,” says Armin, his voice dripping with vitriol.
“She hasn’t committed any,” Eren hisses, giving Armin one final shove and shutting the door in his face. He turns the key in the lock and turns to Mikasa. “Don’t listen to him,” he says, but she has already turned back to the window, her body curling in on itself. He comes up behind her, resting his hand on her shoulder.
“The houses look so small without the walls,” she says. Eren considers this, looking out at the scene before them. The cottages and inns and shops of Shiganshina huddle together like frightened mice, surrounded by a mind numbing expanse of empty, trodden fields. In the distance, he can see the horizon. It feels like a dream to be able to watch the sun set instead of losing it to the walls long before darkness falls.
“I wasn’t thinking about diplomacy,” Mikasa whispers. “I don’t know what I was thinking. I wasn’t.” She sits for a moment, the muscles in her throat shifting as she swallows again and again. “How many babies did I kill?”
“It doesn’t matter,” Eren soothes. “You didn’t mean to do it. It was her, and they’ll see that soon..”
She takes a deep, shaky breath, her gaze still glued to the scars she has left on the land. She hasn’t looked Eren in the face since she came out of her titan, wheezing and gasping for breath, her eyes wild and frenzied, their friends staring at her in simultaneous horror and relief.
No one can agree on whether she has saved them or damned them all.
But Eren knows where he stands, and it is here at her side. He combs his fingers through her tangled hair, an idle habit, and she wilts beneath his touch.
"How do I live with myself after this?" she says. "Why did your father put this burden on me?"
That's something Eren has often wondered himself, first with discontentment and jealousy and then with dawning sorrow as he realized the full scope of the unwilling sacrifice his father had exacted from her. She would not talk about it at length, besides when she had revealed all during her trial, but he believed he could pinpoint the night it had happened. He had risen, restless, from his sleeping pad on the floor of the makeshift refugee center- a colorless, hollow cavern echoing inside his chest as his every nerve screamed for his mother to return to him from across the gulf of mortality. How could he sleep when the memories of her disappearing into that titan's grinning craw played an endless, looping show in the theater of his mind? Surrounding him, curled on their own thin mats, Armin and Mikasa slept, their breath deep and even, sleep erasing the harrowed, wide-eyed panic that had painted their faces beneath smears of tears and dirt. Eren could not lose himself in sleep and so he walked, wandering the streets of this unfamiliar city, imagining he would find his mother waiting around just the next corner and reminding himself that wishful thinking was not enough to raise the dead. When he finally returned, not long before sunrise, Mikasa was lying awake, staring up at the ceiling, so still that he feared for a moment she was dead, too, but, as he lowered himself onto his mat and pulled the thin blanket to his shoulders, her head fell sideways and she looked at him. Her eyes were so wide and shiny that they seemed to glow like twin full moons, the reflected light silvery and sad. She looked even older than she had before she had fallen asleep. He had a moment of disorientation noticing that the scratches he remembered seeing on her cheeks and forehead were gone, but memory could be fickle and he brushed away his moment of unease.
"I couldn't sleep," Eren said, scooting to the edge of his mat, closer to her.
"Someone woke me up," she'd said, rolling to face him. "Now I'm thinking."
Their eyes met, and for a moment Eren could imagine that they were in the bedroom they had shared in his family home, back in Shiganshina, tucked into their twin beds and whispering their secrets to each other from across the expanse of floor that separated them. Now they were so close that Eren could reach out and take her hand when he confessed, "I miss my mom."
"I don't know who I am anymore," said Mikasa, repaying his revelation with one of her own. She was working her way up to telling him what was truly on her mind. She never disclosed her real secret in the first round
"I want to kill every last titan," said Eren, his hand tightening around hers, his voice quivering with irate passion. "I want to wipe them off this earth." Mikasa shrank in on herself, and Eren didn't know why there suddenly appeared to be a wall between them. He hated walls. "When they're all gone, we can have our home back," he said. "When all the titans are dead, we'll be free."
He waited for her to take her turn, but it was a long wait, agonizing as she turned her thoughts over in her head, always so much more careful than he. Finally, she met his eyes again and said, "I'm scared."
"Then you can sleep with me tonight," said Eren, just as his mother would have done, and lifted his blanket for her to crawl under. It barely covered them, but she added her blanket to the pile and they wrapped their skinny, ten-year-old arms around each other and laid like that until dawn, neither of them speaking but neither of them sleeping either.
Now he wonders if they're in for another sleepless night as he strokes her black hair, humming under his breath. She rouses a little, turns to him. "Don't do that," she says. "I don't deserve it."
“Of course you do,” he murmurs, his fingers smoothing down the black, silken strands, gentle but persistent.
“How do I live with myself?” she repeated, and even though it pains him to hear the anguish in her voice, it comforts him to see that she is no longer playing the statue.
“You lost control,” he reasons. “Ackermans aren’t supposed to transform. It’s the one thing you’re not good at.”
Her lips twist and she touches her fingers to the back of her neck, her eyes dulling like stones. He knows what she is thinking, knows better than he knows his own mind. “And yet…” she murmurs.
And yet she can transform.
She wonders, as she often does, how many people ignored her screams on the night that Grisha Jaeger cursed her, when he lured her from her mat at the refugee shelter, murmuring, “Come with me, Mikasa. Let’s find Eren,” and spirited her away to the small wood outside of town. She had trusted Eren’s father, had thought nothing of following him in among the trees, had still believed he would never do her any harm when he withdrew the syringe from his coat and held it up, gleaming in the moonlight. “This has to work,” he had rasped, grabbing her arm with a hand like a vise. “I can’t give this to my son. I can’t give this to Eren.”
“Uncle?” she had whimpered as he twisted her into a headlock and forced her chin forward, exposing the nape of his neck. She was polite in her terror, respectful of her elders as her Hizuran mother had taught her to be.
“If I do it here, maybe… Maybe…” Grisha muttered, running a finger along the ridges of her vertebrae and settling on one bony peak.
“Uncle?” she whimpered again. Then, pain. It stabbed into her and shot down her back and clawed at the base of her skull, howling through her throat in an agonized wail that shifted into a roar of hunger.
It wasn’t until she had devoured the old man that she came to and realized what he had done to her and what she had done to him. His memories bled into hers, giving her a panoramic view of his violent demise, crushed between her gnashing teeth and down into her gullet, and the understanding that she was one of the fabled Ackermans, and she could not be turned into a titan except by this one trick, Grisha’s final gambit – an injection directly into her spine.
She was delirious as she stumbled back to the shelter, battered by tidal waves of past lives that would have been locked to her if it weren’t for her exceptional inheritance – her Ackerman immunity. She lost her way several times, dogged by the paranoid sensation of being watched from inside her head, her every confused thought observed by a pair of shadowed eyes. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she searched for her sleeping mat and Armin, hoping that Eren would come back and that he would not hate her for what she had become. The memory unleashes her tears in the present. They lacquer her cheeks and she tastes their saltiness when the beads break open on her lips. The back of her neck prickles. She resumes her vigil at the window, her teeth making tatters of her lips as she frets, wisps of steam shrouding her face as her skin stitches itself back together with Sisyphean diligence beneath her unrelenting ravages. Her hand hovers at her bare throat, her fingers reaching for nothing. Eren stands and goes to her bedside, retrieving a neatly folded bundle and letting it unfurl.
He loops the scarf around her neck and her grasping fingers find purchase in the knit fabric, tugging it up over her nose. She sighs, the tension in her back easing just a little. Eren brushes the hair away from her forehead.
Mikasa lets out a long, painful breath. “I don’t know why I thought I could control it this time. I thought… Historia…” she trails off, nestling deeper into her scarf. “Do you know where she is?”
“I can find her for you,” Eren offers, wondering if he should leave her alone. “We can go look for her together.”
Mikasa looks towards the locked door. On the other side are the friends who had become her foes. She almost wishes they had succeeded in killing her.
No.
Not almost.
She should be in the ether along with everyone who had died today. And yet, she is not and she is not sure whether she even deserves that peace. Because of her, twenty percent of humanity has been trampled and a new wall has formed, advancing Paradisian territory far beyond the island, bisecting continents and cupping the sea. Years of diplomatic efforts had been negated in a matter of hours. Would Hizuru at least still stand with her, or was this too much for even them who had declared themselves allies to the devil island that had sheltered and raised their lost Azumabito princess?
“Mikasa?” Eren asks. “Do you want to go look for the Queen?”
Mikasa does not. She is afraid to see Historia. She is worried they will come too close and that skin will touch skin and the horror will begin anew. And yet, Mikasa needs to see her with an intensity that threatens to turn her inside out.
She falters. “No,” she says, running her hands up and down the gooseflesh that has risen on her arms. “I can’t face- When they see me again… I want- I want to at least look strong.” She takes a deep breath. “I want to take a bath and put on my uniform. I think… I think I should at least do that… I should be at my best when I go to face my crimes.”
With that declaration, the meager ration of resilience bestowed upon her by her scarf’s gentle embrace is depleted and she is nearly crushed by the weight of what she’s become.
Eren surges towards her as her eyes cloud over and she wilts like a moisture-starved campanula. She has withdrawn once more. He cradles her face in his hands, trying to catch her gaze but she is limp and listless and all he can think to do, when all his other efforts have been exhausted, is to pull her to her feet and help her to the bathroom. She stands against the wall, staring at nothing as he fills the claw-footed bathtub.
"Come here, Mikasa," he says in a melodious, inviting baritone. "Your bath is ready."
She wanders over and looks down at the clear, steaming water. She wants to be immersed in it, but the small feats she must complete before she can are insurmountable. Her fingers falter at her neckline. The small white button on her shirt is the heaviest thing she has ever had to move.
Eren does it for her, brushing her hand away with gentle fingers. His capacity for softness becomes infinite when they are alone. He looks everywhere but down as he slips each button through its buttonhole, remembering another time when he undressed her. His breath catches and he fumbles on the last button, then steadies his hands and slides her shirt from her shoulders. She doesn't blush or smile at him like she did in Marley. Her eyes now are like tarnished silver coins when back then they had gleamed like polished hematite, holding his as he settled on top of her with gleeful uncertainty. He helps her remove her pants, sliding them down her legs and tapping each shin in turn, prompting her to step out of them.
"Sorry," she mutters, placing a light hand on his shoulder to steady herself.
He keeps his eyes on her feet as he removes her underpants, then stands, averting his gaze, and turns her around so only her bare back is visible to him when he pulls her athletic brassiere over her head.
He helps her into the tub and she sinks down to her chin, resting her head back against the porcelain. The tips of her short hair fan out across the surface of the water and she closes her eyes.
Eren retrieves a chair and sets it with its back against the tub before he sits in it, wiggling the toes he's still getting used to having again while he listens to the faint lapping of the bathwater behind him and Mikasa's measured breaths.
He extends his leg, moving his foot back and forth. It still didn't feel like his after so many years without it. He had been eaten in Trost when he was fifteen, swallowed by a bearded titan after throwing Armin from its maw. His leg had fallen victim to the monster's teeth, and his eye had been damaged after, possibly when Mikasa, in her titan form for the first time ever, had torn open the bearded brute and excavated his gullet, searching for Eren. He had lost a lot of blood and his consciousness, remembering nothing past pitch blackness, suffocating heat, and his futile attempts to haul himself back up the monster’s esophagus with his blades, plunging them into titan’s slimy gastric wall, his head swimming from the temperature and the sanguineous gush from his severed knee. He thinks he remembers ripping his sleeve and tying a clumsy tourniquet around his stump, but the only thing he can be sure of is that he has been ingested, and then he woke up in a bed with a bandage over half of his face and phantom pains in his missing foot and calf. Armin was sitting with him, staring out the window, unaware that Eren had returned to the waking world.
“Did Mikasa save me again?” he’d croaked. He was parched. His tongue was rough and tacky against the roof of his mouth and he wanted nothing more than he wanted a sip of water.
Armin jolted, looking down at Eren with wide eyes. “Good morning!” he said. “I mean, good afternoon!”
Eren cast a feeble glance side to side, expecting to see Mikasa, but she was nowhere to be found. The betrayal irked him but he was too proud to ask why she wasn’t at his bedside with Armin. “How- how long-?” he asked, struggling to form the words in a mouth like the deserts in Armin’s book. How long had he been asleep for?
Armin stood. “I’ll get you some water,” he said, catching Eren’s predicament. “And then… I have to tell you about Mikasa.”
Armin said it in such a grave way that Eren was sure that she was dead. He would have gulped if he’d had enough moisture in his mouth to do so, but he could hardly swallow. Instead, he lay there with his hands clasped on his chest, waiting for the water and waiting to find out his dearest and most confusing friend was gone. It didn’t make sense. She was strong, and talented, and she was supposed to survive longer than the rest of them. She was supposed to die as an old woman.
Armin helped Eren sit, propping him up with more pillows and holding the glass of water to his lips. Eren drank as much as he could stomach, then lifted his chin, indicating he was done. Armin sat back down in his chair, holding the half-empty glass in his lap with both hands.
“What happened to Mikasa?” Eren rasped.
Armin didn’t answer for a long time.
“Armin? What-?”
“She’s a titan.”
Now it was Eren’s turn to fall silent as he tried to work out what Armin could possibly mean. “You mean…” This time he can swallow. “Are you saying a titan ate her?”
“...No,” said Armin. “I mean…” He sighed. “It sounds… It sounds insane, doesn’t it? But… in Trost… after you saved me from that bearded titan and he swallowed you instead, the supply depot was abandoned and overrun by titans. We couldn’t retreat without more gas and we couldn’t get to the gas. It was just us cadets, and… well. Mikasa… she screamed something about being strong and if we don’t fight we can’t win and she went tearing away across the rooftops and went after the titan who had eaten you. She used up way too much gas and we were too far behind her to help. One of the titans noticed her and headed her way, and…” Armin stopped, staring sightlessly in front of him, reliving the moment with lingering disbelief. “She cut her palm with her blade, and… she just… burst, somehow. Like… she burst and the titan inside of her shot out and wrapped around her, and… Uh.” Armin shook his head. “The first thing she did was rip apart the bearded titan and take you out. Once she'd put you out of reach, she took care of the titans outside the supply depot and we took care of the titans inside, and… Well. I had this idea, too. That we could do before we went back to rejoin the troops. There was this big boulder near the gate and Mikasa was still a titan and…” He trailed off.
“And what?” said Eren.
Armin was clearly proud of his ingenuity but doing his best not to brag. “I suggested that she could seal the gate with the rock. I think it saved her life.”
“Eh?” said Eren. He was tiring out fast but he was still trying to make sense of how Mikasa, their Mikasa, could be one of the same enemies who had killed his mother.
Armin gripped the water glass tighter. “They wanted to kill her,” he said.
Eren tensed.
“Most of the cadets retreated before we tried for the gate and reported what had happened to Command. And then it took her a while to come out of the titan. She kept pacing around until eventually she collapsed and… well. People were scared and the wait gave them plenty of time to panic. She could barely move when I got her back over the wall, but everyone was circled around us, flinching and jumpy like they thought she was going to attack them. There was this one guy who kept screaming to ready the cannons. But, you know. The gate was sealed because of her, and Pixis had just arrived and he's… If you meet him, you'll get it. He's… interesting." Armin stopped talking for a moment, lost in thought. "If Pixis hadn't been there, I don't think Mikasa would have made it out alive."
"Of course she would have," said Eren, resting heavily on his pile of pillows. "She's the most talented cadet in our year. Maybe ever."
Armin was doubtful. "You didn't see her," he said. "Trost took a lot out of her."
"Where is she now?" Eren asked. He was too weary to restrain the plaintive note in his voice, or to decrypt what it meant for him if the girl he'd always wanted to save had become one of the monsters he needed to destroy.
"She's locked up while they decide what to do with her," Armin said.
Eren had gone back to sleep not long after that, and in his dreams Mikasa loomed over him, smiling like the titan who had orphaned him, blank-eyed and clumsy. He spent the next couple of weeks stewing over it whenever he was alone, trying to make sense of it. He wanted to see her but the thought repulsed him at the same time. Mikasa was a titan. Armin had seen it happen, and the people attending to Eren's care whispered about it with each other, sharing the rumors that were floating around on the streets.
When they helped him into a wheelchair and rolled him to the courthouse for his first outing since his injury, he was sullen. The conflict still raged inside him. How could he kill all of the titans when she was one of them? Without her he had no more home, but creatures like her were the ones who had taken it from him in the first place.

Attack on Titan Guys and Their Lovers
I've been working on some AOT fics and decided I'd post my ideas for their ideal lover to keep me motivated to work on their fics....
warnings: fluff, angst, language
contains: Eren, Armin, Jean, Connie, Levi
Tumblr media
Eren
Mikasa. Sorry, don't make the rules...but...It would be a soldier like Christa (before she was Historia). They met as cadets and Eren admired her selflessness. It pisssed him off that someone so kind and gentle determined that to help as many people as possible, she should join the Scouts. She truly believed her death would aid in humanities battle.
It shocked Eren at how quickly she jumped in the face of a titan to save another soldier. And, when Eren turned out to be a titan shifter, she didn't treat him any differently.
"Eren, I don't care about killing anyone. I just want to see the sunrise every morning beyond the island."
"Then I'll make sure you can."
Armin
Ya'll be sleeping on this man's potential partner. This is one of my favs...
Commander Erwin had a daughter in her last year of training in the Cadet Corp when her father died. She learned that Armin was saved over Erwin, and decided, "yo, I should know the man that was worth more than my dad because that's wack."
She's very brutish with her words like Erwin, but it's what Armin needs to hear. Whenever he freaks out about not being the right choice and is insecure because he doesn't know what to do, she's right there to reassure him that even she would've chosen him over her father.
"I don't know what to do! I just...It should be Erwin standing here."
"Don't waste my dad's breath. Stand up and think, Armin."
Jean
I once hated this man and now I'm his hype woman so...here goes
Jean needs someone not tainted by war. Sure, he probably saved them when they were being chased by titans. He was their hero. But he saw that fear and that determination in their eyes and he didn't know what possessed him when he made them promise to never join the military.
Sasha and Connie walk up on him one day while he's sketching and they ask who he's drawing. He just grumbles that it's his imagination and slams the notebook closed. That's when he realized he had a little crush. That's also when he decides to hunt them down and he stumbled upon them working as a medic in a makeshift hospital.
"I got a serious injury."
"Huh? Where?"
"My heart."
Connie
I will forever and always die on the Connie deserves all the love in the world because have you seen him? Heard him? This is another fav idea:
Connie. Scrawny cadet Connie met her the first day of training. She was strong and sly and always winked at him and when anyone mentioned it, he'd brush it off. But for the life of him, he couldn't figure out why she, smart and witty, would be attracted to him, Class A Idiot. It annoyed him how much time she spent with Reiner and Bertolt, but at the end of the day, she'd always hang out with him.
When Reiner and Bertolt revealed themselves atop the wall and asked Eren to join them, she stood motionless. Pale face. Clenched fists. And when Reiner and Bertolt revealed themselves, they revealed her too. She escaped with them.
During the attack of Liberio four years later, she was in such a bad mental state that Marley officials had already decided a date for her titan to move to another warrior. They had to wait till the Festival was over, but all the plans were upturned when she was taken along with Eren and Zeke in the airship when Sasha died.
"Oh yeah, the idiot will fall in love with anyone?! I'm not that much of an idiot!"
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry? Sorry? Sasha and my family are dead and my mom's a titan and you're sorry? I can't fucking wait till we're back and someone eats you."
Levi
This is above and by far my fav... enjoy
There wasn't a soldier alive faster than her. Fitting, since she was on Erwin's squad, with Miche, the strongest soldier. Their mission to take in the rats from the Underground was successful, and she was ordered to teach Levi, Isabel, and Farlan the ropes of ODM gear. Which proved useless because they were too prideful for their own good and the first scouting mission came too soon. When he crossed the gate to the walls, she smiled back at him and he saw the birds and grass and sun reflect off her eyes before he looked down at the vast land for himself.
When they both died, Levi was lost. She was the only one who showed an inch of kindness when she hugged him then and there on the battlefield (of course Miche stopped Levi from attacking everyone first). She told him to hold onto his memories and that's when Erwin stepped in.
When Erwin was promoted to Commander, he promoted Levi to squad leader and she was on Levi's team. He confessed to her, and her alone, that he could not read. After a little laughing, she taught him how and stayed by his side in all meetings and wrote his reports until he had a hang of it.
By the time the titan shifter had joined the Scouts, she was a squad leader in her own right. After Petra and his squad died, he found comfort in her again. Fast forward to the day Erwin died. How else could Erwin convince an entire army to ride to their deaths if not sacrificing himself and another strong pawn? It was between her or Levi, since Hange was focusing on the fight inside. They all knew who needed to live.
She was found hours later aa a pile of broken and ripped bones gasping through a dry mouth. He stared at her face. She wheezed and coughed and her wide eyes wouldn't stop moving back and forth. The golden sun blared into them and Levi collapsed on the ground. He'd failed her on two accounts:
he didn't get the fucking beast titan and he wasted the titan serum on Arlert.
"Is that you, Levi?"
"Yes."
"I can't see a thing."
"She's suffering," Hange said with tears dripping down their face, "if we even attempt moving her..."
"Leave. Everyone. Get out of here."
"I wish...I wish I could see the sunset. It's about that time, right?"
"The first time I saw open sky was in your eyes."
"Did we win?"
Levi punched the ground. He punched it again and again until his hand bled. She coughed. It sounded like a screeching eagle: full of misplaced air and urgency.

I saw the posts about the TFP kids turning into cybertronians and I can't help but think of something similar happening to some of the AoT characters. Like just imagine Hanji turning into a Cybertronian, she would not sleep for days
Oh god the pandemonium.
See, Eren and Ymir would initially think that nothing is out of the ordinary. They know what it's like to be titans, and they think that maybe they just transformed by accident, or forgot they were doing an experiment. As for everyone else, it's horrified screaming while Hanji is screaming in delight.
This is what I've headcanoned as what forms they would take: AOT Cast as Cybertronians. Levi would still be short, despite being a triple changer. I probably should tweak Ymir's situation. She's just a Sharkticon because of her titan form.
And Optimus, Arcee, Wheeljack, and even Megatron, have to crash course them on Cybertronian biology until they find out a solution to turn them back, because they would definitely kill themselves by sheer accident.
Eren and Ymir have a much easier time adapting than everyone else. T-Cogs are a bit of a challenge, but they incorporate how it feels to transform into their titan forms and it's doable. Eren's actually happy that he can train with Optimus without Optimus holding back.
Anyone who is a flier is in tough shit because the only flier available is Megatron. So Jean, Connie, Sasha? Fucked. It's absolutely worse than their trainee days. Connie has crashed into the ocean, Sasha crashed into the ground. Jean has had better luck, since he's been known to be skilled with the 3D gear and incorporated it to flying, but he still slams into a tree.
Mikasa and Levi probably have it the worst because they are triple changers, and triple changers are so rare on Cybertron. They have to sort through an additional form and they end up mixing up the two. None of the Cybertronians available can really help their case.
Hanji, despite failing over and over again, is still so excited about being a Cybertronian. They test everything, and I mean everything. They're bummed that they still need to wear glasses, but they get to live as a Cybertronian, even just for a little while. They and Wheeljack share ideas constantly. Armin is the same way too, just not at the same level as them. Armin can't help but be excited at the fact that he's experiencing a new mode of existence. And with this form, maybe he could see other worlds and explore the beauty of it all. He has questioned if he really wants to give that up to go back to being a human.
A few down sides of being Cybertronian is that there's one food source and it's the limited food source. Levi misses tea and Sasha misses meat. There's also a lot of weapon misfires. Someone nearly dies a few times.
There is also one benefit to this, at least for Levi. Megatron makes a snide comment about Levi still being short. Levi's about to retort, and then something hits him. He's Cybertronian. There's no species barrier. No holoform. No mock satisfaction. He could do some serious damage to Megatron. He might lose. He's not as experienced as Megatron. But to finally, finally, get the chance to do damage to Megatron and get him to shut up for once...
Megatron doesn't like the way that Levi's staring at him after his comment. Megatron is immediately on edge when Levi smiles.
It immediately cuts to the others, and they are taken off-guard when Megatron gets rammed in the gut by Levi across the grass. Wheeljack is laughing his aft off at the fight, Optimus is mortified, and Arcee is recording it. They do ultimately get separated, but Levi just feels so vindicated.

hi!
I read what the anon said about Mikasa. People always talk about how obsessed she is with Eren, but honestly can we take a moment and appreciate my girl for being as brave and strong willed as she is.
For years she has been adamant about protecting Eren and now having to kill him with her own hands.
People also forget that Mikasa is a kind girl, she might mostly focus on Eren but we seen her taking care of others and be thoughtful multiple times.
Mikasa is a girlboss. I love both Ackermans so much.
I also hate it when people compare Levi and Mikasa. They might be from same clan and similar in some ways but other than that they are two different individuals with different goals.
Mikasa's main goal being protecting Eren and throwing it away to kill him and save what remains of humanity is so selfless.
Absolutely. People always try to reduce Mikasa down to her "obsession" with Eren (without even understanding why she loves him so much in the first place), but yeah, they completely ignore her many other, amazing qualities. She is incredibly kind and thoughtful and caring. We see that when she comes to the aid of the people who are trying to escape the city, and being blocked by Deemo Reeves. We see that in her compassion toward Sasha and Annie and so many others. She wasn't ever mindlessly loyal to Eren, either. Lets not forget how she laid him out at the beginning of the story, when he was trying to start a fight with those soldiers over food rations and causing a scene. Anyway, people need to stop dumping on her. Where the hell is the compassion for what she's been through?
And yeah, I hate when people compare her and Levi too. They're both their own people, with different outlooks and mindsets and philosophies, different experiences, different personalities, different people. Just because they're both Ackerman's doesn't mean they're interchangeable. The only qualities they really share is their last names, the fact that they're both exceptionally strong, and of course, they're both loyal. But otherwise, I don't think they have much in common at all, in terms of what they're like, how they behave, etc...
Her sacrifice in the end was incredibly moving. She gave up the one thing she'd longed for most of her life, the one thing that really drove her, and she did it to save a bunch of people she didn't even know, just like Levi did. And we see how much that sacrifice cost her. She's devastated by it, and she'll never stop loving Eren. But still, she did it. That's more than most people would ever be willing to do.

If I may? What's your unpopular aot opinion if you have any?
Perhaps. (just my opinion)
- grey shirt levi is overrated. s3p1 had a big focus on levi bc it was partly about exploring his past and his character, and ofc levi in that outfit is just MUAH but i could think of so many others that are under appreciated (not counting official art). for instance his vest, tie and slacks (with and without the suit jacket) in marley, that casual low-neck(?) t-shirt + black pants combo for a scene ALSO in s3p1 that was cut out, or his little white sweater from the end of s3p1. i’ll find pics
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(jeez it was difficult to find those panels)
– ymir and historia’s relationship wasn’t that captivating. i think because since it’s a lesbian relationship, and it’s basically canon, that it’s held to especially high regards and gets a lot of attention
– erwin gets too much hate for only being seen on the surface as ‘ruthless’ and treating the lives of his soldiers flippantly. just like every character, he’s more multi-faceted with guilt, a childish stubbornness to see his missions thru to the end, his suicidality (at the crate when he talked to levi the last time), etc.
– eren wasn't annoying in the first seasons, or at least he wasnt written to be for no reason. he's fifteen and as far as he knows the ONLY person who can transform into the very monsters who killed his mother + save the world (or at least what he knows it as). of course boy has issues and some emotional problems lol
– gabi is EXTREMELY misunderstood and anyone with media literacy could at least draw the parallels b/n her and eren (when he was a kid). she doesn't deserve all the hate she gets at all. she was a victim of immense (like from BIRTH) brainwashing just like the warriors. and if u wanna throw blame... technically eren was the one who killed sasha.
– the ackerbond isn't slavery, but it's also completely up to interpretation whether it exists in any meaningful way at all. like with lots of things pertaining to the aot story, it's up for interpretation.
– the dub is overall better
– the rumbling was not justified?? idk if that’s majority opinion but i’ve seen a lot of ppl who think that
– the jean horse jokes and half marco jokes were never funny </3
– levi’s choice on the roof makes sense (which i go into more detail with in another post)
– mappa is better than wit
minor manga spoilers
– reiner’s mom’s behavior / character is realistic. she isn’t there to serve as a plot device to be the source of all reiner’s insecurities and issues about being an eldian and so on. she’s an abusive person but no one in aot can be whittled down to a monster or an angel. that’s one of the big points of the story. arguably, that can apply to everyone.
– mikasa from the very beginning deserved so much better than eren and especially in the anime her character was reduced to existing for him, unlike levi and erwin, and kenny and uri (say what you want about those ships, but those are the lieges of each ackerman). i dislike eremika. in fact jean and mikasa would be (or are depending on how you interpret the manga) better and healthier together.
– if erwin lived post-RtS, he would NOT have agreed to the rumbling. yes, he sought freedom to explore the world outside the walls more than many of the major characters, and in his eyes the ends justified the means. but erwin was smart enough to know logically that indiscriminate genocide wouldn't have solved anything, or at least knew it wasn't a long-term solution, and besides, he did have a heart. as much heart as levi, hange, mike, and the rest. for what other reason did levi of all people choose to follow erwin than because he saw something Levi didn't in a world this hellish? Levi even says that Erwin's dream (the scouts' dream rly) was too "innocent", but if it wasn't, it wouldn't have been worth fighting for. so!!!

Post-canon SnK headcanons. Contains spoilers for the end of the manga, please read at your own risk!
(DISCLAIMER: Please do not take these seriously lol)
Mikasa's partner/husband is Jean. She spends a few years mourning Eren and Jean is always there supporting her. They end up getting together at some point and having kids.
Jeankasa's first-born kid, regardless of gender, is named Eren.
Everyone else (mostly) has a kid named Eren too.
Mikasa tries to distance herself from politics but always ends up getting roped into disputes. She'd rather just be a housewife.
Jean is the next leader of the Survey Corps but after a coup he gets kicked out.
Falbi are the first couple to have a kid and it's unexpected. Falco doesn't really handle it well.
Falco has a job related to peace talks and Gabi uhhhh... Gabi probably sticks to military stuff.
Levi marries a woman he meets in Marley who's a friend of Onyankopon's. Initially he's very against the idea of having kids, but his wife points out that it would be a huge fuck you to Zeke, and that (eventually) convinces him to be a dad. Everyone is shocked when they find out.
Connie has a thing with Nicolo. They hook up after Connie starts working at Nicolo's restaurant.
Annie and Armin get together, rush into marriage, have an unexpected kid and things proceed to go tits up. Armin is very mentally unstable for most of the rest of his life.
Annie works as a martial arts instructor and passes on the teachings of her dad. Armin becomes a marine biologist after he steps down as the Survey Corps commander and passes the job on to Jean.
Reiner remains single because he doesn't think he's worthy of someone else's affection. (And his crush is taken.) He's a nurse? Idk I like nurse Reiner.
Pieck never marries. She spends her days working as an archivist for Marley.
Yelena survived and was arrested and sent to jail for war crimes. While in jail, she discovers she's pregnant, escapes and runs off to a far-away country. Her kid is either Eren's or Zeke's (I haven't decided which lol) and she keeps them hidden.
The kid walking up to Eren's tree at the very end of the manga is Mikasa's descendant and they're looking for Eren so they can awaken the powers of the Founding Titan and revive him.
Falco and Gabi eventually reclaim the Survey Corps from the Yeagerists and end up being in control of most of Paradis's military.
Onyankopon is a hairstylist? Also I see him getting married but maybe not having kids.
Historia's husband is killed during another uprising attempt but Historia and her daughter are unharmed.
A few decades after his death, Eren becomes a meme.
Eventually the idea of titans becomes a conspiracy theory and many people don't think they ever actually existed (or at least not in the way they did in canon).
Paradis eventually becomes completely uninhabitable -- as in the entire island, not just the hill. However, a handful of people escape to the underground and reside there. The underground is accessible through Eren's tree, and many inhabitants are related to the main/secondary characters.
Mikasa's descendant discovers the underground civilisation and gets to know the people living there.
Eren is chilling in paths in place of Ymir Fritz and gets a surprise when someone who looks kinda sorta like Mikasa shows up (don't ask me how they're able to use paths, maybe it's the direct contact with the Founder).
Maybe eventually, once it's destroyed, Paradis is treated as though it never existed and is erased from the history books. Similarly to Paradis residents being brainwashed into thinking the rest of the world is gone.
Mikasa passes on the Azumabito mark to her kids and they pass it on to theirs.
Mikasa's descendant never visited Paradis because it was destroyed before they were born, but they would always read their (great?) grandmother's diaries and letters and wished to go one day.
The dog seen with the kid is named Sasha. All dogs owned by Jeankasa's family are named Sasha. This one is Sasha V.

On the topic of Annie its crazy that some of the only thing some aot fans got from Annie conclusion is that she’s now somehow Armin’s plaything/prize/waifu like whaaa. I’ve seen this take so many times on Twitter they associate her whole character around Armin. I think thats where people start to think of it as unhealthy when they somehow see Armin as the master planner behind Annie’s actions/motivations
I have seen sooooo much of people assassinating Annie's character, mocking, and reducing her worth becuse of her canonical ending with Armin. Aside from Annie, they're forgetting that living peacefully and being with the ones you love is the ENTIRETY of all character motivations in the series. Other shounen anime and mangas, the heroes have a very specific goal that they need to reach by the end of the series (Naruto becoming Hokage and One Piece well... finding One Piece) Even Eren's "dream" of killing the titans, ends up evolving into wanting to be with Mikasa and wanting the best, longest life for her and the rest of his friends
I honestly don't see how Annie was going to win this? Her initial motivation of wanting to go back to her father, the first and only person to express wanting her is mocked because she should've acted like an adult with 5+ years of intensive therapy and ditched him. I haven't seen the Annie becoming "Armin’s plaything/prize/waifu" from anyone other than raging misogynists because that's how they view the women in all heterosexual relationships, when Annie should've been ✨ different ✨ she should've been the cool girl
I'm one of the people who finds Armin and Annie's relationship to be unhealthy and I've always been upfront about it. It's not criticism by any means. I actually think it's unfair to expect anything more from Annie after what she'd been through. At least, not this early on. Annie is emotionally dependent on Armin more than she "should" be, under the right circumstances, she's a bit of a doormat/pushover because she so desperately doesn't want to be alone; wants to be wanted for once in her life. I don't see it often, but I love love love the humanization of Annie as a person who's susceptible to abusive relationships and situations because of her past traumas; an actual person with her own fears and wants and needs while also noticing that the only reason aruani is unhealthy but not abusive is because Armin doesn't take advantage of her in exchange of love and approval the way her father had done
I realize that after years of consuming strictly western media needing every single character to have some kind of higher goal and purpose in life that's purely utilitarian and isn't in need of any particular individual. AOT takes a more Stdio Ghibli approach to life and character motivations (especially with Armin's philosophy in the final chapters)
so yeah, maybe the girl who was told she was never wanted and was only ever as valuable as her usefulness her whole life simply wants a normal life where she gets what other people take for granted

Was Levi justified in assaulting Historia in attempt to frighten her into submission when she didn't immediately agree to become the queen?
Justified isn't the word I would use. I think the problem with this is that people see this and use it to say Levi abused her, or that Levi resorts to violence at every turn.
Both are false. Many times throughout the series, Levi doesn't resort to violence or even anger at times where you would expect it. When Mikasa disobeys him and he gets injured, she not only endangered herself, he got injured saving her. That later prevented him from fighting Annie later on and in the manga you see him frustrated by that.
At the very least, you could expect some anger for disobeying orders. He just lectures her. The same thing happens later with Jean. For one, Levi doesn't even bring it up. There's the even more obvious one of when that soldier Dieter disobeyed orders, called them heartless, got his friend killed, and made them dump the bodies. To this day, I'm shocked Levi offers comfort, not scorn, anger, or criticism---comfort.
He's seen so many comrades die. To have more die over something so easily avoidable, a death so pointless, which he hates, and to not resort to anger? The healthier reaction would be to become angry.
So he doesn't resort to violence at every turn, but yes, he does resort to it at times. It's one of the main reasons I'm fascinated by Levi. It's so easy to say he isn't complex, that he's just an op character. But it's things like this that make it hard to understand him at first glance.
Someone who resorts to violence should have punched Dieter. No one would have said anything. Someone who resorts to violence should have gotten in Mikasa's face after she blamed him for Eren's capture right after he passed his squad's dead bodies, after she disobeyed orders and got him injured (not saying this to demonize her; she didn't know what happened to his squad presumably).
To choose to be understanding and take the role of a captain, of someone strong enough to offer advice and stability in dire situations---that is who Levi is.
So with that being said, did he have to do that to Historia? Maybe, maybe not. What I think would have happened had he not would be she would spend a long time resisting the role of being queen until someone made her understand forcefully. I can't see her warming up to the idea instantly. She probably would too late, when more people have died, when she's forced to see the start of what would happen if she weren't queen.
Some people criticize her for not being willing, but that's a huge thing to ask a teenager. I completely understand her hesitance. Levi did too. But they didn't exist in a world where one was allowed the luxury to avoid a role bigger than what they're prepared for.
The reason Levi so desperately wanted her to accept is because it would save them from a civil war. It would save so many lives. It would be bloodless. All the sacrifices up to that point would have been meaningless because they would be too caught up in fighting each other. Not to mention Reiner and Bertholdt could have returned at any point while this was happening.
Levi just returned from torturing someone. A person within the walls, his own people, the people he fought for every time he left the walls. How invalidating it must have felt. Who exactly was he fighting for if he had to continue torture people like that?
I imagine Levi joined the Survey Corps with hopes that his strength could be used for good. That he could escape the death and misery of the Underground where his strength was used for survival, where he witnessed violence and death that never seemed to end. That he could be more than that type of person. He could use that strength and experience to help people for a change, instead of harming people to survive.
All this, plus learning titans were really humans, it's almost like Levi would never actually stop being the person he was Underground. Someone who hurt others for his right to live. More pointless deaths. More violence that no one really wanted.
If Historia didn't become queen, this would continue.
Levi is compassionate. Levi fights for humanity. Levi hates pointless deaths. Historia becoming queen would be one of the first choices they would make that would have almost no sacrifices. I imagine Levi or anyone in the Survey Corps for years would lose it if such a chance wasn't taken.
One weird thing I did notice is that Jean takes out for Historia, saying she finally got to be her own person but now she would be forced into another role. While this is incredibly sweet of him, and great storytelling to recognize how a character suffers, this is only ever applied to her.
And well, later Annie, but I dislike almost everything about season 4 anyway.
Armin never wanted to join the Survey Corps. Majority of the kids didn't. They were terrified. I doubt even the adult soldiers enjoy fighting a losing battle against the titans for years. So many characters have to take on rolls that they shouldn't, that burdens them.
Yet everyone acts like this only applies to Historia, that Levi forced her into this role when the alternative was probably being on the run for the rest of her life anyway.
So technically yes, Levi was justified because so much was at stake, but I do feel bad for Historia. But I'll be honest, I find it very interesting that this is brought up more than him kicking Eren like 20 times. He didn't even hurt Historia. I'm still upset this was removed from the anime. If they wanted to remove anything, they should have removed kicking Eren or at least reduce it because that was so brutal.

I think the big thing about why Attack on Titan's ending was so bad was that there was no groundwork in place that led up to the moment of Eren being radicalized enough to want to kill everyone in Marley and beyond. Any of that character development was side-stepped and we just saw him already like that.
A lot of his friends all comment that he's not the same as he was (Connie, Jean, Armin and Mikasa), but no one really talks about how he developed a radical political view for those 4 years, and even his closest friends, Armin and Mikasa, were gobsmacked by his changes but never really commented on it until the 4 years were over.
Even up to the point of "Hobo Eren" he's still not quite radical enough to be that sort of "destroyer of worlds" that he ends up being, and none of his character development adds to him being more and more radicalized to cause it to reach that fever pitch.
When you see him grow and change in the stretch of the series before the timeskip, you see how he's actually deradicalized from wanting to kill all the titans. He has a hard time putting his money where his mouth is when fighting Annie and Reiner, tearfully submits to being killed when captured by Rod Reiss, and understands very well before the RtS arc that he's not the most important person in the room, and wants to rely on his friends' judgement just as much as his own.
He even feels sorry for the mindless titans before they make it to the ocean, after knowing that they're just trapped, tortured human beings.
All of his radicalization is done offscreen and never fully explained. And in the end, he just goes, "I had to." Without any deeper meaning or motivation behind it. Which is why it makes no sense for him to have developed that way.
If he was developing into a radical more naturally, I don't think I'd have a problem with it. In fact, characters like Rod Reiss showed how someone with somewhat noble motivations in youth can be corrupted because of selfishness or fear. Gabi being radically pro-Marley also has shades of that. There is ways to make it feel more natural.
But Eren's whole development doesn't correlate to a "corrupted hero" arc.

colt?😳 and... reiner?😈 sjjsjjs reikasa is one of my favorite crackship bc i really like reiner and mikasa. <3
about the draft wow so eren would start going insane after mikasa leaves him... that would be so much fun! i wonder if even after mikasa found out she was manipulated by floch she would come back to eren... oh but you said she would have to kill him again right? which makes it even sadder bc she is coming back to him having to end his life again ugh thats so 😩 i love watching these two suffer and suffer so much. uh guess i would just stay with hitch being the wife instead of sasha idk why it must be because I think she's hot I guess 😔 hmm but sashsa who is one of mika's best friends being eren's wife would be interesting i would love to see too! hehe
yeah reikasa really grew on me! also jean has been done and overdone again and again so i wanted to try something a little different.
yeah he goes insane because mikasa willingly left him this time. like this is after she decides to give eren a chance. but thanks to floch manipulating her insecurities and everything, she realizes it's not healthy for her to stay in an environment where she's miserable. she leaves a note that basically says "in another life." whether or not she succeeds was up in the air.
so the reason i made hitch the wife instead of sasha is because in the fandom i know some people are like "eren's really into blondes" so just to be funny, i made all of his wives minus mikasa the blondest hotties on the show. and he doesn't really care for any of them. mikasa is the only one for him.
it was interesting but way too self-indulgent i'm afraid.

hi cath~ do you like eremika age-gaps?
mikasa (17) eren (38)
After the death of her parents, Mikasa brought by her aunty move to a small town isolated from the city. To get to the city, Mikasa and her aunty had to take a boat.
Mikasa doesn't know where her aunty will take her. when they arrived at the pier, they were picked up by horse-drawn carriage.
The carriage took them to a luxurious mansion, Mikasa wondered who lived here.
Her aunt introduced Mikasa to the host of this mansion. he was a mature man of good looks, green eyes and long hair, like a nobleman. he is Eren Jaeger. What surprised Mikasa was that the man was her aunty's future husband.
While living there, Mikasa felt that the man was intimidating her with his eyes. Mikasa thought that Eren was very uncomfortable with her presence in the mansion. So Mikasa asked her aunty to take her back to the pier. but her aunty doesn't want to do it, she was nag Mikasa instead (come on, if Mikasa leaves her she won't get death benefits for her sister who is Mikasa's mother).
that night Mikasa fell asleep and felt someone was watching her, but Mikasa tried to ignore it. Then when she fell asleep and she had a wet dream. there was a charming man touching her passionately. he's familiar! Oh did Mikasa have a wet dream with her aunty's future husband?
Mikasa even dreams every night! touched body! everything is soaking wet! Is Mikasa too horny? even though she was only 17 years old.
One day Mikasa dreams again but this time it's a nightmare, which is about her parents. Mikasa immediately came out of her room, she didn't know where she was going, what was clear was that she needed someone (like her aunty) even though she would be scolded later. But when Mikasa is in the living room, she sees her aunt and Eren kissing hotly. when Mikasa was about to leave, Eren looked straight at her while kissing her aunt's lips. Mikasa immediately left from there. And now Mikasa can't sleep anymore. she felt something hot in her private area.
the next morning she heard the screams of a servant of the mansion. when Mikasa came out of her bedroom she met Eren who also just came out of his bedroom. they both headed towards the voice. and there was her aunt lying lifeless at the end of the stairs.
Mikasa was very shock, Eren then hugged her, whispering that everything was okay. her aunty died from being too drunk she ended up falling down the stairs. That's what Mikasa heard from the servant.
After her aunt's death, Eren offers Mikasa to stay there. it turns out that Eren is a warm and caring person for Mikasa. even though their relationship is already very close.
One day, Mikasa found Eren drinking wine, accompanied by classical music the man sat on the sofa with a sad look. "does he miss his late future wife?" Mikasa who was kind-hearted approaches Eren, she sat near Eren. they chatted about small but warm things… their conversation just kept flowing until the atmosphere became heated. don't know who started first, they kiss each other passionately and then you know what happened next
(please write smut for me 😳 )
Since that night, Mikasa realized that the man would never let her go. forever.
footnote: eren never felt sad because of the death of his future wife, he just wanted to show mikasa that he was a soft man. (of course you know who kill*d Mikasa's aunty 😱)
.
xoxo ^_^
I’m okay with age gap except one of them is a minor 😭🤚🏻, but in this case I consider Mikasa is 18 bcs for me 17 is too young and some ppl think 17 is still a minor 🥲 so we add 1 year okay? And whoa actually i kinda prefer her death is an accident and not killed by Eren 💀 but anyw nvr mind what I expected from a boy who wiped out 80% population 🧑🏻‍🦯
Eren is not just tsundere, i bet there’s 12% he also yandere fufu 😈
———
The kiss was warm and felt.. good, she open her eyes pull her face back looking at Eren disappointed face. His thick brown brow attached and his green eyes glimmering with sadness, he look so adorable Mikasa can’t help but blushing. It’s not right to feel this silly thing right now, her “uncle” is sad and the reason why she came is for cheer him up but they ended up kissing?
“I-i’m really sorry i-i didn’t mean to do that (kiss) it’s already late I’ll go back to my room” she cursed herself, no matter how much she want Eren her aunt face still haunting her head, she feel guilty because Eren is not hers.
Before she leaving Eren hold her wrist “It’s okay Mika you don’t have to feel sorry dear..” she look back at him, his big hand holding her so strong yet so gentle “Actually i want to ask you something” his green eyes pull her back to sit on the couch, Mikasa can feel her heart beating so fast “What is it?” She asked.
He took a deep breath and hold her hand with both of his big arms wrap her, “Would you accompany me sleeping in my bedroom?” She blink her eyes as her cheeks turn red again “It’s been a while since she’s gone and i feel so lonely in my big room, my large bed laying alone without someone beside me” He said caressing her hand. Mikasa want to pinch her own hand to see is this a dream or Eren just asked her to sleep with him? It’s unbelievable but deep down there Mikasa want it too. But she also little bit scared because all this time she lived and spent her times with Eren she never know his “true” personality because all this time he just spoke softly to her and smile, Mikasa also cannot read his mind, he’s too confusing but that makes her thrilled.
“You won’t do anything to me don’t you?”
Eren smiled then cupped her face “Ofcourse i just need a friend to sleep tonight, I’ll never do anything bad to good girl like you” his hand suddenly fall to her thigh and squeeze it “Do you want to?” Mikasa nodded her head right before his hand travel too far to her inner thigh. He show a big proud smile at her and hold her wrist with one hand and the other hold the candle, Eren lead her to his room.
After get into his room, Mikasa decided to take a few step explore his room looking at those antique furniture and lot of paintings on the wall. She’s too busy till she didn’t realized that Eren just locked the door, blew the candle, and suddenly the room get dark.
The only thing Mikasa remember is Eren hugged her from behind kissing her nape, taking her clothes off and whispered “I already want to do thing long time ago Mikasa” then she groped her breast makes her whimpered “No” she closed her eyes try to refuse his touch because the image of her aunt running around her head but she can’t, her cunt already feel warm and soaked, she want him, she really want him too. Eren pushed her to the bed, Mikasa realized that her clothes already gone just leaving her bra and underwear that still on their place. Doesn’t take time to long for her to feel Eren’s chest on top of her body, and feel his lips meet hers, kissing her like a wild animal.
In the morning the maid will be confused with the red staint on the bed, while in this house only Mr. Jaeger along his ex fiancé sister Mikasa who lived here and they clearly remember there is no other woman or girl that Mr. Jaeger bring to the house.
Sorry it’s short I haven’t got any idea to write sex scene 😭🥲🥲

Part 6
Part 4 | Part 5
Heyy! It's been a while since I update this story right?
It's just that laziness really caught me hahaha and I would use college as excuse too but nah I just got lazy to write the story :P
But after someone asked me when I was going to post again I got motived again. So thank you person!!!
-------------------------------
A few days passed, Master Urokudaki thaught Tanjirou how to wield the sword properly, or else his bones would crack like the blade with one wrong move.
Tanjirou kept climbing and going down the mountain everyday, and each day was harder and deadly then other. He surely got faster and stronger, and his nose scent also got better, but he still fumbled when he took his sword with him. Tanjirou thought that he'd definitely escape the traps with nothing on hands.
The 104th squad was having the balance training with their equipment, and while Mikasa and some others were showing their talent, Eren was having a hard time to stand still.
"What are you doing Yeager?! Get up!" Instructor Keith scream at Eren ears, that was hanging upside down.
'You've got to kidding me...' Eren thought looking at everyone laughing at him.
Later, after the training, Eren was still trying to balance himself with the help of Mikasa and Armin.
"If you do the basic, you will make it. Don't think on do it right, focus on keeping balance in the center and distribute weight on the waist and leg buckles" Mikasa instruct Eren on what to do.
"If you do it with patience, you'll make it. Even I did it!" Armin said wanting to guide his friend as well.
"Right. I think this time I can do it" Eren said nervous.
Armin started to lift Eren up. And immediately, after being lift up a few inches, his face met the ground hitting the head pretty hard. They went back to the dining cabin, Eren got bandages on the head and the other recruits were mocking about him.
"Wasn't he the one that would kill all the corpses?" One guy at another table whispered mocking for his friend.
"He'll be send home soon" The friends smirked at the boy.
"Pathetic...this way I'll never be able to kill them..." Eren just couldn't believe that he failed.
"Then you should give up" Mikasa said suddenly, Eren and Armin looked at her surprised.
''You should not be a soldier anymore, sacrifice your life is not the only way to fight" She continue.
"Listen here. I saw everything that happened that day! You really think I'm going to give up like this?!" Eren said angry to Mikasa, he couldn't just take that.
"It doesn't matter how determined you are. In the end, it will not be you who decide if you are going to be a soldier or not" Mikasa said serious to Eren that get out from the table and the cabin.
All the recruits started to get out as well when the bell ringed, indicating that the dinner was over.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day was a day off, Tanjirou finished his writing on the diary he made for Nezuko, he wrote it every day and night. He grabbed an apple and went outside to eat quietly in the stair of the house.
It was also day off for the tinnies, Eren, Mikasa and Armin were just walking around when they saw the human eating at the stairs alone. They never talked, or better than that they never even got close to Tanjirou, but they saw him train and getting back from the mountain all tear up from the traps and striking with the sword a thousand time per day. Everyone knew that Tanjirou's training was harder than theirs because he would fight something worse than corpses.
"Why don't we go talk with him? He seems nice" Armin looked at his friends kinda curious about the human.
"What?! Are you crazy? He's a giant!" Eren said nervous looking Tanjirou from far away of him.
"But he's a person just like us, he is just bigger" Armin said walking closer to Tanjirou.
"Armin wait!" Eren and Mikisa follwed Armin.
Tanjirou noticed the three tinnies walking close to him, he friendly smiled and waved for them.
"Morning!" He greeted the trio.
"Good morning, is Tanjirou right?" Armin friendly greeted back.
"Yes it is, what's your name?"
"I'm Armin, this is Eren and Mikasa" Armin pointed to his friends behind him.
"Nice to meet you three!" Tanjirou smiled gently for them. Mikasa and Eren got more comfortable and got closer, next to Armin.
Tanjirou cut three pieces of the apple and extended to them. They flinched when the giant hand got close, Tanjirou noticed but decided to ignore because he understand that some tinnies are not totally comfortable around humans.
"Want some?" He gently offered.
"No we're fine...thanks" Eren politely refuse the apple. Tanjirou withdraw his hand back.
"So, you are the people that came from inside the walls right?" Tanjirou asked taking a bite of the apple.
"Yes we are. And you are from outside, did you ever saw someone like us?" Eren asked curious.
"Of course! The village that I came from had lot of tinnies, and I would sell them coal and help them with whatever they need, just like everyone else in the village"
"That's awesome! Uhmm well we never had the chance to see a human before...actually you are the first human that we talked with" Armin said excited when he heard that there more tinnies outside the walls.
"Did ever saw the sea Tanjirou" Armin asked remembering the talks he had with Eren about the outside world.
"The sea? No I didn't had the chance yet" Tanjirou answered.
"What?! Why not?" Armin got shocked with the human's answer.
"Oh it's because I lived on a mountain not so far from here and we always needed to work, and also because we are kinda far from any beach to see the sea" Tanjirou try to explain himself kinda nervous.
"How did ended up here? Why are you here training?" This time Mikasa was the one who asked, Tanjirou got surprise by the sudden question.
"Mikasa!" Armin scolded the girl.
"Well...I...my family got killed by an oni, only Nezuko survived. And I'm going to do everything I can to make her human again" Tanjirou answered hesitant at first, but he demonstrated his determination saying his goal of saving his sister.
Eren was amazed seeing the determination of the human. While he wanted to tear all the corpses in pieces, Tanjirou had a noble goal of saving his sister.
"And what about you? If you don't mind me asking"
"Our district was attack by corpses, and there was nothing we could do. But now I can, I going to destroy all of those monsters" Eren said serious ans determined.
Tanjirou felt tense by the tinnie, he understand that they passed through so many wich was sad but the part of destroying the corpses was why he felt tense.
They kept quiet for a time, the awkward silence fell over them. But Armin wanted to keep talking and know more about Tanjirou.
"So Tanjirou, do you have any plans for today? We were just walking around, but we were thinking on doing something else" Armin asked the human hoping that they could have some fun together.
"Oh I didn't plan anything, but if you want we c-"
"Oi! You just going to get bored walking with them! But don't worry now the fun is here" Tanjirou got interrupt by Jean that was coming closer with Cody, Reiner, Bertholdt and Marco along with him.
"Hey are going to eat this?" Sasha appeared out of the sudden on Tanjirou' shoulder scaring the human.
"Wow you scared me hahaha here" He cut a piece of the apple and handed to Sasha.
"We can go to the river! And explore this forest too" Tanjirou suggested a few things they could do together.
And so they did, after knowing each other a bit more. They went exploring some of the forest, taking some fruits and climbing trees, after that they went to the river to swim. Tanjirou would always stay close to the tinnies because the river is to deep for them, and they would use him as slide and trampoline to jump to the water. It was a funny day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the next day, the recruits were gather around to see if Eren would be able to balance himself, and Tanjirou was watching as well because Urokudaki said that he would give the instructions of the training of that day later. And Eren told him about the his failure on this training.
Eren was nervous because he wanted succeed, the instructor Kieth order to lift him up. That was his moment, the moment of truth, Eren give all of him to stand still and hold his balance.
All his mates and the human cheered for Eren, but after a few seconds he fell.
"No! no no no I-" Eren struggled with his equipment.
"Hmm. Wagner put him down and change you belt with his." Kieth order the recruit that lift Eren up.
When they change belts, Eren was perfectly able to balance himself.
"Damaged equipment. The buckle of your belt is damaged, I never heard something like that. We will have to check all the new equipment." Kieth said to Eren.
"Wait so he managed to balance himself with damaged equipment?" One of the recruits said shocked.
"Incredible!" Tanjirou cheered to his friend.
Eren celebrated felling proud of himself. He did it!
At this moment Urokudaki appeard next to Tanjirou with the training assistants tinnies, one of them went to talk with Kieth. The new area of training was ready.
"Now recruits! Gather around with the human Tanjirou! You will receive the new instructions of the training with Mr. Urokudaki" Instructor Kieth announced.
The 104st recruit squad and Tanjirou were surprised to hear that. The tinnies walked next to the human, they were nervous to receive a training from Urokudaki, by seeing what he does with Tanjirou it would probably be something extremely hard.
They only thing they could do was wait and see what will happen.
-----------------------
Would that be the first time they'll work together? You'll find out on the next part.
see you around!

isayama making her get married and have kids is a strange choice...all the characters end up single and maybe aruani are dating? like i can understand hisu bcs she kind of had a kid to save herself but mika... like i totally support the idea of moving on. however, mikasa never wanted children during the manga/anime... reiner who wanted something like that got single at the end, he was supposed to get a female npc at the end too?🤡
and i don't want mikasa to end up miserable in the end, but you know there were better ways to make her move on, she could have stayed with armin and the rest of the gang in the end, or i don't know, isayama could have worked better on it and put mikasa wanting children and that kind of thing during the manga and then that ending would make more sense to me.
I wouldn't say it's a strange choice bc Mikasa is a family oriented character. If she had the option to marry Eren and have a family with him she would definitely take it. But to boil down family to "husband + children" is so generic and boring. I was expecting a different ending for Mikasa since a lot of fmcs are shackled to traditional marriage and motherhood at the end! Like give me something different PLEASE.
And her being alone doesn't mean she's miserable. Alone ≠ miserable. I don't know why the fandom (especially some Mikasa stans) are quick to jump to the conclusion that she'll forever be miserable if she doesn't move on with a man.
Newsflash.
She will always be miserable whether you like it or not. She had to kill the love of her life who wiped out 80% of humanity. She's killed people too. A man's dick isn't going to mend her broken heart.
And I'm gonna be completely honest here. I can't picture her loving anyone else other than Eren LMAO she took the faceless npc dude and that baby to visit Eren's grave 😭💀💀💀 girl is still in love with him (and who can't blame her there's no one else like him)
The thing about not wanting to have children during the anime? She didn't have the luxury to think about such things. They were thrown into war at such a young age children probably never crossed her mind. She has an innate maternal nature though so that npc baby (adopted or not) will be very loved.
Her ending was mediocre to me. I would've loved a proper Arumika reunion in those extra pages where we're shown Armin and Mikasa together but nothing :/ it's what we all deserved. It's disappointing but I've made my peace with it.

Rotten Judgement - Kill Your Darlings
I used to tell myself that I am no writer. I used to tell myself that because I had nothing published, and even though I had the ambition (my novel still rests on my desk, waiting for the final touches before I send it somewhere), I was sure that if I wasn't recognized I wouldn't be a writer.
So, I decided I was an honorer of stories. I wanted to distinguish myself from the writers because I got no money for it, but also because, working in the publishing world, sometimes being a writer doesn't necessarily mean that we're honoring the stories we're writing.
Honoring a story for me means to give it time. I know too many writers who publish a story a year, and although some are really good (King, for example), I believe that this most of all the way they fall into the wheel of production and capitalism. If they don't keep on writing, they don't keep on gaining money, so they should always write, write, write. How can we nurture something that we have to put out so easily? How can we think about it, from all the angles and persepectives, build a discourse around it, if we don't stop for once and think?
I am the one to plan in advance. In life, in writing--I don't understand myself without lists or checks. I like to cross with a line when I'm done. That's why I've been planning Rotten Judgement since January: giving each chapter its story, plotting all the storylines, even knowing with which sentence I will close the chapter so that people want to read more.
But, sometimes, what we planned doesn't work. And although it would be easier to stick with the plan, I have planned the first part of RJ twice; the second one, three times; and the last one, four. Because I still give myself the freedom to get the writing where the writing wants to go, so I have to go back to the plan and change some nuances.
But, today, I decided to kill my darling. I haven't killed the totality of RJ, because I'm still killing it. But I've gone back to part 2, now that I'm writing chapter 10 and I know where chapter 13 is going to end, and I've decided: there is no way that the plot can stand 11 chapters more, 'til the 21 that I first planned.
There are several reasons for that. One, Eren and Mikasa's relationship was much complicated in the beginning. I have, for now, forgotten about the economical aspect of their relationship, but I will pick it up again quite soon. Yet, it's not sufficient to pull 4 chapters out of my head like this. Two: the apparition of Hitch, and how she changes the characters with her chapter 16. Three: Armin needed to go in circles even more than now, but it could end up being repetitive.
Four, and the most important: I've created mature characters who don't rely on miscommunication. So, problems won't arise. They will have misunderstandings, but there won't be times where they are suffering because they don't talk. I want to show compassion, understanding. And I can't do that if I don't kill 4 chapters of the story.
Now, it still can change. I can't promise there will be 17 chapters exactly. I am guessing I will arrive to chapter 18/19. But, definitely, there is no point in dragging the story too much. I don't like it when stories do: I am concise in plot, not in style (I wish I was!), and I don't want readers to feel like everything is going in circles. I can't stand it, so I'm not sure they will, either.
Sometimes, honoring a story also means to forget about your love for the story. It's only natural to want to get into deep with one universe, to get to know the characters more, to get lost into the trail of words, their speaking, the happenings. But, sometimes, we need to say goodbye to all of this, too, and understand that our love creates the stories, but never bosses them around.
Our stories can live without us, because when we put our stories into the world, they don't belong to us anymore.
