Glitch- Simon 'Ghost' Riley x M! Reader, Vladimir Makarov

I was wondering if I could have Ghost x Male Reader with some Makarov, like Makarov likes reader and maybe scare the shit out of Ghost cause reader get captured

Based on a request:

M!Reader, established relationship, some angst (not really), fluff?,

You and Simon have been in a secret relationship for a few years now. It started off as you two being just colleagues, to him asking you to hang out with him. And now years later he is super happy you are his boyfriend. He adored the idea of always having you around. During missions he would always make sure you were safe. It was time for another mission, this time it was in Russia. It would just be 141 and you, nothing too big.

One day as you walked around a small village, Makarov saw you. You in some military uniform, a balaclava and your weapon. You stared at him as he passed by, he was mesmerized by you, your eyes so beautiful and so expressive. You were walking with Soap that day. Ghost had ordered you two to go get some food.

''That fella looks sketchy, don't ya think?'' you looked back and met with Makarov still staring at you.

''All Russians look sketchy, dead eyes, and that accent.'' Soap chuckled as he saw you turn around.

'' Yer little boyfriend might get jealous.'' he leaned in, which caused you to look at him. ''how do you-''

''please, the stares, the fact I saw you two kiss and also how he is more nicer to ya, I just knew you two were dating.'' he adds.

''does everyone else know?''

''yes and no, Ghost makes everyone shut up about it. He likes ya...really does.''

''how do you know?''

''He always blushes when you take your mask off, under all that eye paint, it's still noticeable. His voice is so soft towards you, it was bound to happen. S'nice to know the L.T. has someone.''

You smile taking all of that as a compliment. Simon Riley, the once cold hearted man, and now there he was waiting for his boyfriend to make it back to base. He had a picture of you two, you wearing his skull balaclava and he yours, you with a peace sign while he flipped the camera off.

Days after seeing Makarov, you were sent to look around the small village, no one could go with you, so you walk the same street as before, alone. Thats when Makarov saw you once more. He had grown some sort of infatuation for you. Well more like an obsession. He ordered his men to kidnap you, a truck pulled besides you and before you could react they knocked you down, dragged you into the truck and drove away.

Ghost was worried you hadn't returned to him. He almost lost all control of himself, he cursed himself for not trying to go with you. Laswell had found footage of the second they took you. And as the men made a plan, you were locked inside a basement.

Your hands tied to a chain, right in front was Makarov. He was in awe his hand slowly reached towards your balaclava. Once he removed it a satisfied smile was slowing creeping onto his face.

''well what a handsome man you are.''

You just looked at him, ''what is your problem?''

''My problem is I didn't have you, until now.''

''I am not yours too keep.''

''no? well, we'll see about that.''

In his mind, he had hoped maybe one day you would develop Stockholm Syndrome. That someway you'd accept to be his. But how could you ever love him when you love just one man and one man only.

As Makarov talked all you could think of was Simon, how much he would be hating himself. What if he had one of his episodes? who would be there to calm him down? talk him out of his own thoughts.

Four days passed, Makarov had kept you near him at all times, he had you tied up, but he wanted you around. He wanted you to see him ordering people around, thinking that might impress you. Wanted you to hear him speak Russian, as if the language would've made you love him.

But throughout the days, you only pictured one man. How his arms would wrap around you and how he would kisses your shoulder as he hugged you. He deep yet sweet voice ringing through your ears about how his day was. The cuddles and the small little touches he would give you throughout the day.

Yes, he was Ghost, but when you and him were together, it was Simon showing you his love.

On day 5, you were sure the team had been looking all over the country for you. At around 2 am, someone from the shadows wrapped their arms around you. You were in panic, but it soon stopped when he kissed your shoulder.

''It's me, love. Let me take you home yeah?'' he voice so beautiful. God did you miss his voice and touch. ''please.'' was all you could say.

He united you and carried you in his arms, the other men didn't say a word, they just trailed behind as they escorted you two out.

''Told ya.'' Soap commented, which made Price hit the back of his head.

Once you reached base, only Simon was near you, he wanted to make you feel safe, understood you could get overwhelmed.

''Missed me?'' he took his mask off. You smile, ''I'd be lying if I say I didn't miss your ugly face.'' you chuckled

''Oi, watch it.'' he too chuckled.

It was the little conversations like that, that made him try even harder for you. How you joked around him like mates would. How you let him baby you and vice versa. Simon was a lover, Ghost the fighter, you were the center of him.

He stared at you with puppy eyes. You were so..angelic in his eyes. He would fight a million and more wars to just have you. What he did to Makarov was just another love letter to you. No one in this world touches whats his, ever.

He leaned in and kissed you. He cups your face in his hands and he deepens the kiss. Maybe the kiss could prove to you he truly loved you. You kissed him back, a smile on you as his lips brushed against yours.

A brief interruption, a slight malfunction I'd go back to wanting dudes who give nothing I thought we had no chance And that's romance

I would be the main character of course, the choosen one with a great hidden power that is also revealed to be royalty and the daugther of a god and a demon. Don't forget that everyone falls in love with me instantly, just like in real life.

Matthias: and i would be your one true love

Kaz: please! you would be killed on the first episode

Matthias: hey!

Kaz: come on, you have "fridged to cause angst to the main character" all over your face. And i know that because , as the main villain, i am the one who killed you.

Nina: I will avenge you,Matthias!

Jesper: are you going to be the "evil incarnate" villain , or the "not evil just missunderstood" villain

Kaz: This writers will try to make me both, will result in fans loving me and justifying all my horrible actions just because i had a sad backstory. Nina will sucessfully kill me and the end of the first season, but after the ratings fall because the other villains are not compelling (traslation: played by old and unnatractive people), they will bring me back with no explanation in a desesperate move to got the views back.

Jesper: Wait, isn't Jesper , Nina´s handsome and charismatic bff enought to catch some views?

Kaz: They love you, as long as you don't overstep your role as "comic relief" , they won't like it if you take some agency or do anything else than being Nina´s support

Wylan: hey, Jesper is way more than that

Kaz: He could be if the writers bother to develop him, but don't get sad, he will have more screentime than you for sure. As the supporting character for a supporting character , your only job is be Jesper´s boyfriend

Jesper: Yeah, they can't have two gay main characters. It´s always a main one and their minor character partner; they probably won't let you even exist if i am not onscreen with you. And the show needs to be called "ground breaking" in terms of representation so, they can either show us as human beings ...or have a borderline inapropiate sex scene (but the people playing us will be on their twentys so it´s okay) which is more likely. Maybe by season 4 people will begin to demand more from you...

Inej: And thats when you become unbereable, Wylan. By "developing your relationship" the writers will understand "make is as unbereable as possible" , with you becoming a nag, slut shamer , needy and Jesper will probably cheat on you once. But since you are the only same sex couple on the show´s universe, they will still promote you are "true love"

Jesper: Straight people settle for less

Nina: wait! I am not straight, therefore my show is mostly directed at a queer audience

Kaz: Oh Nina, sweet inocent child, first; they would never call you "bisexual" onscreen , they will make olympic mental gymnastics in order to not call you "bisexual" once. And your love interest are going to be seven men and one woman that will die right after you sleep with her-

Kaz: But she is actually complex because sometimes she cries. Only pretty crying of course. People are just laying there, waiting for an Inej spinoff to be announced. That one is very sucessful and only lasts one short, but very satisfying season.

Matthias: Oh no-

Nina: Now what?

Matthias: I just realized you end up with Kaz

Nina: EW! NO! NONONO! WHY WOULD YOU-

Kaz: i don't want it either ,Nina. But the audience will call on the erotism of me trying to kill you and destroying all of your beloved friends and family.

Jesper: You are the main character, love. You can't have a personality, that would stop the audience to see you as a self insert, so Kaz´s fangirls will demand you to comply their wish fulfilment fantasy.

Inej: Because only your love will change his genocidal issues.

Look. The difference is that everyone can agree on what tae said but not everyone can agree on what jk said. So tkkrs are happy because taekook will be together soon and tae confirmed that, and jkkrs are happy because of "unclear" words said by jk. So it's clear what ship is real and what ship is just a fantasy. Just saying.

First of all, staykooker, its not unclear. Just because ONE Karmy homophobic JK solo hates Kjikookers, doesn't mean that Kjikookers are wrong. Even the JK solos who came to correct the translation agreed JK was talking about Jimin.

At the end of the day, JK said while adjusting the lamp, that Jimin is the one who changed the position of said lamp, before going to England. First wrong translation suggested JK brought Bam home to see Jimin before he went to England.

You're coming here to gloat about V saying something unsubstantiated. Because we dk if they did meet up at all in the end. You, are counting your chicks before they hatch.

We, on the other hand have CONFIRMATION that Jikook were together the night before Jimin went to England. Thats a fact 💯 First inaccurate translation and the second translation corrected by other Kjikookers and Karmy JK solos, both state that Jikook were together. Period.

So when I weigh what I have and when I weigh what you have which is essentially nothing, I'm sorry but my load is heavier 🤷🏽‍♀️

He continues to add fuel to the fire about the cuddling.

He wants to make sure Jimin knows exactly what was going on 😂

Now Jimin who's attention has been peaked is kinda shook now and he asks; "what?" And Jhope happily clarifies that yeah, they were cuddling.

But thats not it. He needs to make sure he understands the situation exactly as it happened. Mimi is proper invested now, guys.

🤣🤣😂😂 I think its safe to say Jimin doesn't like when JK cuddles other people in his sleep. Which tracks because JK only ever cuddles Jhope (makes sense that the best friend that Jimin trusts explicitly, JK has the green light) and when other members cuddle him u will find JK keeps his hands to himself. Even with Jhope sometimes.

But not to worry. Jimin didn't have an issue once he found out JK wasn't the one doing the cuddling. And they lived happily ever after!

Speaking of Jhope being invested in Jikook. Here is a moment I noticed when watching Burn the Stage. Jimin stopped to talk to a member of staff and Jhope stood there watching him.

I've also seen Jhope look at what Jimin is doing when he's talking to other IDOLS or other men/people. Like that popular Jeonlous Taemin moment, if u go rewatch u will notice Jhope also keeping an eye on Jimin and Taemin. And I've seen several times when something is happening with Jimin and some dude, Jhope will turn to look at JK. Like when Jimin was shooting Wonho finger guns. It wasn't just JK watching keenly but Jhope too. So when I watched that part on Burn the Stage it reminded me of those instances.

It's like when you love your bestfriend's boyfriend and u always have to keep an eye when your bestfriend is talking to other people who are not their boyfriend type of thing. Like I said, Jhope is invested in Jikook and he tries to make sure they don't mess up what they've got.

I also mentioned here about Jhope and the way he hugs Jimin; almost like he's preventing their crotches from touching. Also their hugs don't last long at all.

And I show here JK signaling Jimin to get off Jhope and come to him. U can see Jhope noticed 🤭🤭

So to me Jhope knows how JK can be. How many times have we seen JK displace Jhope to be next to Jimin? Latest being the Vminhopekook LV live. JK walked in and made Jhope get off the chair so he could sit next to his man. So yeah, Jhope knows JK very, very well so he's always keeping an eye out for fuckery.

Anyways here are some more of my wednesday opinions cause I need them out of my brain (spoilers obvi)

First? Why is everyone hating on the show?? Between the ‘both men where so bland I couldn’t tell them apart fuck love triangles’ and ‘this isn’t an Adams reboot this sucks they made this show horrible and so out of character’ y’all need to take some breaths.

I found it super compelling and enjoyable!! I loved seeing wednesday grow from someone how hated people and emotions to someone who still hates emotions but has them and has a good relationship with both her new friends and family!

To address the comments above:

Okay maybe Xavier is slightly bland - angsty art kid however his use in the plot and the fact that we are seeing him from Wednesdays pov who obviously doesn’t like him that much and is only using him for her own gain really saves him for me and leaves him open for more development. Talking about the love triangle - I struggle to see one. Its mostly Tyler x wednesday and xaviers crush is one sided, there is no point in the show where she laments over which boy she wants or the fact that she likes both of them - I think we have mixed up what an actual cliche love triangle is in media and ‘these two attractive boys are both in love with the main character’. There might have been more rivalry between them but wednesday certainly wasn’t aware of it

Tyler deserves his own dot point to address the comment above cause HOW CAN U SAY THAT MAN IS BLAND. especially after the last episode. It switches the view on his whole supposedly ‘bland’ point of view and forces u to think about wether thats the real thing and the person in the last ep was an amalgamation of manipulation and grooming as well as deep seeded trauma or if he was playing us the whole time with this awkward clueless personality as he manipulated everyone around him which is such a cool way of looking at it. If u don’t believe me go rewatch the series as if Tyler is aware of everything and is willingly manipulating everyone - cures the ‘he’s boring to watch’ thing instantly.

Okay getting to the second point - I completely see where u are coming from but like its called WEDNESDAY. Its about this version of wednesday not the whole family, they don’t even appear in it very much. when I seperated it from the previous versions of the Adams family it was super good (however I do get where y’all are coming from about the whole ‘crazy morbid loving family’ dynamic being destroyed but I liked the journey that wednesday and mortica went on and I think it added to her character so I am willingly ignoring it

Okay now for the part where I rant about Tyler Gilpin cause I love that man with my whole heart and I am a Tyler apologist first and a human being second

MANS WAS MANIPULATED and has some super bad trauma. From the point where his mum died and his dad practically abandoned him and thennn the first person he thought he could trust to look after him and tell him the truth proceeded to turn around and groom and manipulate and USE HIM for her own gain and chained up a literal child whilst forcing him to change into a monster :/ people keep forgetting that he is literally at most 17/18 but probably 16/17 and has been left by every single adult in his child life. Cut my man some slack.

second: he really did want to leave!! He had no control over his actions as the hyde - he literally says in the first episode how ‘at least one of them would be able to get out of this hellhole town.’ He was a manipulated child!! Sure he might have been slightly dark in his own right but he wasn’t going around murdering people for funzies and he probably only started to enjoy it as a trauma response :/ like what else was he supposed to do?? Go insane cause there was this woman who was forcing him to kill people. He couldn’t control himself as the hyde (u know in the last ep where he said ‘I wake up covered in blood and have no memory of what happened’ ect ect) so everyone saying he’s a murderer who doesn’t deserve wednesday (also wouldn’t a pscyo murderer be like the perfect fir for wednesday? that scene where he admits to hurting Xavier and then trying to get better and wednesday saying she would have done something worse for the fun of it?? Bruh they are so perfect together and have so much chemistry but ill put that in another rant) anyways. Y’all are acting like he just went around murdering people for the fun of it completely aware are endorsing his actions (did we even watch the same show?) when the main point of Wednesday figuring out the master was a hyde was that there was actually another person controlling the monster in the woods and it wasn’t acting alone

Also - I see lots of people being like “yeah but he basically assaulted Xavier y’all are ignoring it he’s a bad person 🙄💅” but like?? So was Lucas? 1 he was in the ‘friends’ who distroyed Xaviers painting as well, and he bullied Eugene and tried to fight/hurt wednesday just for being an outcast and used enid to get into the dance and ruined it for everyone and u don’t see people bashing him? People can change and realise that the stuff they used to do as a tween was bad and full of bias inherited from their parents/society :/

Anyways to sum up that rant - I love my slightly murderous and traumatised but yet awkward and soft hearted barista with my whole life and if he doesn’t get a redemption arch enemies to lovers, joining the gang (enid, Ajax, wednesday, Bianca, Xavier, Eugene and thing obvi), learning how to control the monster inside storyline next season I’m going to riot.

Also antihero is totally Tylers song and I love it

Imma be honest I didn’t dislike any of the characters - I think they are either already well fleshed out and interesting or have the potential to be and I loved the way the three seperate plot lines managed to organically weave and thread together into one whole point just viewed from different angles a lot. I absolutely love enid with my whole heart (I’m not stepping on wenclair at all I love the idea but I just really like the sunshinexgrumpy bestie vibes they have going on and I love Ajax to much to cut him out he’s so supportive and lovely) and she was such a good character with her own plot lines and the way she and thing interacted has my whole heart. Also the way that she got more understanding and wednesday got better at social cues and how to be friends/show emotions was really well done.

Also low key if u apply my fav way to solve this said ‘love triangle’ which is they all just date each other meaning we get both tylorpe anddd these boys who love wednesday with their entire beings and supportive ajax and enid 👀👀👀👀 (yes Wednesday needs too grovel a little with Xavier she did not treat him well at all and Xavier maybe should get more interests than brooding and painting but we can work on it) ((I also approve of the fact that wednesday has two hands one for each Tyler and enid and ajax can share))

Im also seeing a lot of Tyler/Xavier hate but like,, can y’all not see wednesday isn’t the perfect character either? Like she’s a super morally reprehensible character and treats people hella bad some times. she literally put the only two people who she had managed to get attached too/have a connection too (Tyler and enid ((excluding Eugene love him too))) in danger for her own gain. I know thats the whole point of the show and I love her in that regard, it makes her character really interesting but like— she’s not absolutely perfect and these ‘mean bland boys don’t deserve her’ comments really aren’t helping her character development

Okay I'm just here for a chat (if thats okay) (i think you're lovely!)

There are some stuff about the show that really bother me you know... First of all in season 4 What Happens to John Watson.. like he is simply characterized by loyalty right it is who he is, then HOW does he cheat on Mary?! (Okay granted that his heart was elsewhere... ahem. But he's just not someone who would cheat)

Also i think Mary shouldn't be a villain... i know she possibly looks like it messes up Johnlock but i think its the opposite actually. I think John is bisexual and his love for her was real but she was basically a Sherlock substitute who looked like him (John)! Plus, she was there when he was at rock bottom so. But what doesn't make sense is her shooting Sherlock in the chest?! What's up with that!

Okay but the Weirdest part is in the last episode when Sherlock has to choose between John and Mycroft and finally choses to shoot himself... BOTH John and Mycroft do Nothing?? HOW

In my head It was love at first sight... and then slowly falling head over heels crazy in love with your best friend and all of it culminating in the most beautiful TV Romance.

Let's address each of you things one by one:

What HAPPENS to John Watson – Your guess is as good as mine, Lovely, and it's a lot of the reason a lot of us can't take S4 seriously. It feels so OOC for John to cheat on Mary with ANY other woman, other than Sherlock (hence it being part of the Alibi theory, this part of it referencing SHERLOCK as being the one John is actually texting in the night), so many of us just don't think that S4 is what it appears to be on the surface. Of course, it could all just be a coping mechanism to deal with how dirty a beloved series did it's fandom, but we take what we can get, honestly.

As for villain Mary, I have to respectfully disagree, only because I believe that I think they were setting her up in S3 to BE a kickass antagonist for S4. Amanda ALSO thought they were going that route for a bit until (my speculation) things went sour with MF, AND they built up her character as a psychopath imho. Then they made her character attempt a piss-poor redemption arc that just... really soiled S4 for me because I firmly believe that John would have NEVER forgiven Mary for trying to kill Sherlock after seeing what it did to him the first time.

But to your point: John is bisexual, yes, but I don't think he's biromantic. I think he's homoromantic, and it's VERY played up in the series that this is the case: his blasé attitude about ALL his girlfriends, but pouncing around the close men in his life like a puppy? Heck, if Lestrade was single, I have NO doubt John would have taken his chances with him too, LOL. John is horny. That's literally the gist of it. He likes sex, he doesn't care what hole it goes in, just as long as he gets it. But I do think he forms VERY strong attachments to men in his life, and in turn he gets hurt, so he pretends he's not into men because it's "just easier" (you can read more posts about my and others' thoughts on John's sexuality here). He was with Mary because he was lonely, and Mary played him like a fiddle. She knew what John liked, and played that up. I believe it's even explicitly stated she knows what John likes. They only knew each other 6 months, CONVENIENTLY just before Sherlock was on his way back? Even ANDERSON picked up on Sherlock making his way back to London. I believe she was a Moriarty plant to see if John knew Sherlock was for-real dead, and she herself enjoyed the game and stealing and keeping John for herself away from Sherlock was part of that game upon the return. So yeah, I really have a hard time believing she OR John actually loved each other. I dunno, again, personal biases and readings of the series, apologies, LOL. I spent a LOT of time analysing Mary's character arc. But I WANTED her to be the big bad for S4, and it just... fizzled and died.

And finally, on your point about the weirdness of John nor Mycroft opting to stop Sherlock, yeah, have to agree with you there. TFP was a goddamned clustereff of WTF moments and mischaracterizations of literally every character on-screen. The only character NOT in character was Eurus and that's literally because they didn't know what to fucking do with her. TFP was so dumb. I have a hard time believing any of it actually happened the way it did on-screen. But yeah, S4 was a big disappointment for everyone including the actors. I think they only people who thought it was great was Mofftiss and that's because they love the smell of their own farts. I can't believe that they GENUINELY thought TFP was going to be Emmy-worthy (for those unaware, they initially planned to nominate TFP for the Emmy, and instead chose TLD, I believe, after the poor reception of TFP, and acted like they were always going to nominate TLD lol).

Anyway, yeah, it was full of angst, though my reasons for it are probably different than everyone else's, LOL. But the fandom IS fantastic, and that's why we stay here, and why I choose now to curate fandom content. Makes me happy, and keeps me out of drama, LOL.

Hey wanted to tell you I love seeing Rana on my dash! Can you tell little bit more about Rana? How does she view her relationship with her teammates? Does she have any family? What drew her towards Wyll?

oh stop this is so sweet omg 😭😭😭 Im glad you all like to see her bcus i love to show her off!! she's my little angel and the only tav i've had break past act 1!

I'll put most of this under the cut but I wanna put out a disclaimer that I came up with her background before learning abt anyone elses backstories so if she seems very similar to an origin character i swear its on accident 😭😭!!!!!!

Rana is a tiefling rogue assassin :)! Her backstory is that of a street urchin and after her mother died when she was very young, she spent a lot of time outside of her home. Her father wasn't very good at fathering and oftentimes they didn't even speak with one another despite living together in the same home. At the age of 12, she ends up stealing a little more than something that can be unnoticed and gets arrested. Upon her father hearing out her year-long sentence and hefty bail, he decides it's better to let her rot in prison for her sentence than to spend his little money on bailing her out.

Of course, Rana breaks herself out after 3 weeks and never returns to Baldur's Gate until the fateful day of the Nautiloid! She spends a lot of her time traveling the coast, running through different guilds and vowing to never rely on anyone.

With her backstory out of the way, she has a very interesting relationship with everyone! 😭 So for those who don't know, I played this story with my darling dearest bestie @katagawajr who has her own character Vaeril. To put her in Jordan's words, Vaeril's very much a disney princess-esque, think Anna from Frozen or Rapunzel, or if you're familiar with Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle!! (where as you have Rana who despite being fire coded is very much Elsa-like)

(and sometimes she teams up in a detective noir episode alongside Private Wyll Ravengard to uncover the mysterious explosive toys of Baldur's Gate.... but thats a side quest) (yes it's chaos).

Moving onto Origins, She's got a very funny raport with Gale. He's an obvious know-it-all but unlike most egotistical men Rana's run into, he has the facts to prove it. For my Blands mutuals, she's got a very Fiona and Rhys type of dynamic where they do get along but you wouldn't believe it from the amount they bicker. Vaeril also romanced Gale in this playthru so she's very much >:( hurt my best friend and ill kill you wizard boy.

Karlach is Rana's best friend. They have very similar backstories and although they didn't know one another as kids, they're very protective of one another. Lae'zel is also one of Rana's closest friends even though she's obviously more reserved, they get along very well on the battlefield and rely on one another. Halsin makes Rana nervous because he's just So Sweet and Asty is pretty much entertaining (they argue abt the best techniques to take people down quietly ofc). Shadowheart and her also get along albeit it's a bit more reserved because of Rana's intrinsic and initial mistrust of familal figures.

haha. onto Wyll. Which is probably the funniest of funniest stories. Originally, Rana was... very put off. On one hand, she's heard of the blade of frontiers and genuinely thinks what he does is great, but on the other hand... Wyll has a heart of gold and it scares her. When they have their talk on the beach in Act One, Rana sees that he's not this 'perfect hero' and that he has doubts just like anyone else- he put on a front just like she did. Keeping people at arms length was just... natural.

So yea, they develop from their as they do in canon and albeit his sweet nature, Rana's incredibly shy abt their relationship and answers virtually no questions unless pestered by Vaeril :). They wear Lover's Caress rings to protect one another, and once they get to Baldur's Gate, Rana is quite... stand offish with Ulder and anyone else who dares to be rude to Wyll.

I'm not a jikooker because I prefer jimin with another member I ship him with..jimin is someone so affectionate and caring towards the people around him. With this jm is close to each member but somehow for some reason its always jikook who are spotted hanging out together off schedule. so many sightings from army spotting them in a restaurant and restaurants confirming this.the DVD memory 90% is jikook ofc the company favors them more that's why they film only their moments. because honestly as I ship jm with another pason I tend to always spot jikook together that it pisses me off so much.have had enaf of them together.no hate to jk but he should leave jm alone sometimes not hovering around him all the time duh!my question the latest run bts suga said "that's smth a couple would do" I mean why do they feel the need to highlight that all the time? Honestly I don't know if I should be flattered or mad or both or neither at this Ask so I'm just gonna be as respectful as I can be.

I haven't watched the run episode. I've only seen snippets but I will watch it this weekend. I have a ton of analysis to do and I hate commenting on stuff I haven't consumed.

This is not the first time Suga has said something of that nature. He's been alleged to have said "You weren't even a couple then" during Festa when Jikook shared the rain story.

Jin has made similar statements as have Namjoon and the others. When it comes to Jikook that is. He'll jikook have called themselves a couple too.

Since I don't speak their language and can't understand the nuances of it myself, I refrain from depending on any linguistic analysis for validation. I just take notice of it and carry on with my life.

Karmy can be a bit prudish and wow at everything because it's bold and daring and so out of the norm and gosh did you hear that? that's so gay, and sensationalise almost everything because they are so shocked easily by the prospect of two men "acting gay" when gay is so such taboo in their culture.

They are like me when I stare at a vagina that isn't my own.

I've said this over and over, but perhaps the company gravitate towards Jikook not only because what they have is authentic but because it's the best content they have💀

Best in terms of content production, engagement with fans, conversion of that engagement into monetary value, their chemistry is great, they self produce or come up with independently thought of and creative spontaneous moments that the best of hybe CCs couldn't conceive if they tried.

Which is strange because Vmin have awesome chemistry too and frankly I'm trynna see it. Jimin is a whole other mellow character around Taehyung sometimes. He steps back and let Tae take it away. Whereas around Jungkook most times, he gets so animated and hyper you'd think he swallowed a dynamite.

Not sure how much of his hyper activity is triggered by a subconscious awareness of Jungkook's proclivity towards introversion on screen. Whereas with V I feel he's more trusting of his co-workers ability to engage the audience on his own and come up with exciting and unique ideas for them to engage in without him necessarily worrying about censorship and worrying Tae's nerves will cause him to slip or make mistakes.

With Jungkook he gets lost trying to loosen him up and get him to relax on screen and not be soo aware of the cameras, or not read too much into anything he does while also trying to rile him up to get a reaction out of him because he's often fascinated by Jk's visceral response and reaction to him. He acts like there's no camera around, JK it's into it but soon forgets that millions of people are watching and so Jimin has to be on high alert around him. They give me headaches but I'm toxic so I love it. Bring it on Jikook.

Anywho, that was old Vmin. And old Jikook. These days Jungkook is the one that tries to loosen JM up.

And these days VMin can't play or keep it going for more than 5minutes without boring us to death with whatever weird vibes and inside jokes they have going on between them.

Case in point

Don't get me wrong, they have impeccable chemistry and are also very good friends but let them be alone for an hour and you start blinking blankly at the screen- like you know there's something they not telling us and they matured and they all acting like grown ups with so much self respect and admiration for eachother.

Like when Tae confessed he liked Jimin alot I didn't expect Jimin's reaction at all, certainly not Suga cringing cos if those two are besties and face time eachother everyday I love you should be something they both should be used to hearing from eachother by now and their friends should be used to their shenanigans too by now.

Besides Taehyung confesses his love for Jimin more than he breathes oxygen in the air and this is Bangtan raised to the power Kpop- gay isn't exactly new to them if you know what I mean.

Yet no one said well that's so something a couple will do for that VMin moment. They cringed harder than a ma cracks his knuckles. Like friends would if another friend started acting homo around the bro table. There's a scene from Boys over flowers where Lee Minho goes to kiss another one of their friends- note to self, gurl, you have to rewatch those dramas you loved it. We loved it. Cool? Cool.

That moment with vmin and Suga reminds me each time of that scene from the drama.

Where's if actual couples did it, the reaction would be one of just pure awkwardness because no one knows how to react around couples. You can't stare at them on the bus when they kiss cos you feel you are the creep creeping up on private moments. It's just awkward and you don't know what to do with yourself.

Then if they are your friends you try to play it up by teasing them, mimicking them, hooting at them

Or you just exchange awkward glances and smirk

And to put things into perspective, Namjin cringing and bursting out a romantic soundtrack over Jikook's rain fight narration was warranted.

It was the first time they were hearing this from them and their reaction was as anyone would- yet Suga didn't find that cringing AT ALL like he had found VMins moment to be- just a smirk like it's just ridiculous with those two. See how similar Jin had reacted to their hickey story too?

Hobi forgets to react at all sometimes💀

He just smiles warmly and stares or laugh his brains out. Except for that one time Jungkook let it slip he wanted to be handcuffed by Jimin🥺

And why was it necessary for Tae to say that? Why was it necessary for Tae to make that confession? And why did the members intuitively assume JM was going to choose Jungkook for that? Namjoon went with V but only because he voided his gut instincts and used his head. We've all been there.

Jimin have said Tae has matured so much and we only see glimpses of Old Tae but he's different. Of course that's gonna impact the way they interact on screen.

They keep saying that's something a couple will do because THAT'S SOMETHING A COUPLE WILL REALLY DO.

There's no beating around the bush about it.

The ironical friends sharing a couch or they look exceptionally close today does not explain why they sneak into each other's hotel rooms or why cameras were placed in their rooms without their notice and Jikook had to walk in blindsided.

Jimins reaction was priceless.

You frankly don't need to see or hear them going out to restaurants to know something's up with those two. You don't.

Anyone who claims otherwise is just in denial.

Personally, if a Korean were to ask me about Jikook I'd say to them they are friends fuck off. If an Iarmy were to ask I'll say they are more than that. I see them for what they are and I celebrate them, I appreciate them, I love them and I support them. But I will protect them against anyone that posed a threat to their safety their well-being and their essence.

It's just the gay way.

And I feel this is often the conundrum people are faced with when it comes to Jikook. On one hand, they want to be celebrated- who wouldn't -but on the other hand their safety careers and lives could be as stake and they would want to protect that too.

And the best way to do that, if I were a company, would be to hide them in plain sight. Which is what everyone and their momma does with Jikook.

Jikook have not always been the creme de la creme of ships and hybe have not always used them as their go to fanservice ship. Granted fanservice is part of Kpop.

The Busan Brothers have split. The sun and moon duo blah- jikook don't nearly get marketed as a couple as much as other ships in bts to be frank. Editors have called Tae Kook romantic or a couple with chest in content, Sope get called couples almost everyday, they deliberately put members together to promote stuff because THEY ARE ALL THERE TO WORK.

This is somebody's business. They invest real money Into all of this. If ships were hurting their business and hard earned or borrowed money, they would dead that shit two dinosaurs ago. The fact they ain't said nothing means it's serving them. We are the puppets and they are the puppeteers.

They pull the strings and we go. Not the other way round.

As to whether they are doing this at the expense of Jikook, Jikook would be the best determiners of that. They have agency and in the past where they were "too young" to comprehend the consequences of their actions they had their hyungs to look at for them- hence all those tensions and allegations of members breathing down their necks.

Bighit was acting like Kris Jenner, encouraging them to strip and gyrate metaphorically for the cameras while they smiled all the way to the bank to cash out.

But it's 2022, a year where BTS have gone up against the government of Korea itsself and decided by themselves to call off any postponement to their military service and serve.

This is the same year you want to peddle the Hybe making Jikook do fanservice in their PRIVATE LIVES???

Going solo is pretty scary and they are all transitioning well and adjusting well to it. That's all that matters. Let's be glad that in spite of their personal projects that they make time to connect with their members and keep the spirit of BTS alive.

Real heartache is them finding BTS outside BTS and forgetting how precious their friend group once was.

But I get where you are coming from. rather than try to manifest Jungkook out of the picture, try manifesting your fave into the picture and go nag them until they call him up m- don't worry I'll put them through when the call comes. Wink.

Jimin is an extrovert and honestly he is well adjusted. I don't think he needs much help connecting with ppl.

My good sis, let's just enjoy the breadcrumbs while we can, before Jikook officially ties the knot🤧

Once they do it's game over for you and I and all the jm side ships on the black ship market🥺

I saw in the tags on one of your posts that people often mistake Viserys' cowardice for stupidity, and I AGREE.

1) It's so funny to me how Viserys openly talks about being afraid of hard conversations with his daughter. I'm sure it's a common joke amongst fathers given the time and place, but Viserys is really not joking. But in reality, when he does take the time to explain his thinking and be transparent with her, she's quite amenable to what he's saying. It's a vicious cycle of hiding things from Rhaenyra, discussing things with everyone BUT Rhaenyra, blindsiding Rhaenyra, and then provoking the very reaction he was trying to prevent. And he literally NEVER gets it!!!! She literally just wants a heads up, especially when it concerns life-altering decisions about her own life. She just wants to be asked for her opinion, even if the answer is no, just ASK.

2) I believe part of his reason (HOTD), in many different ways, for choosing Alicent is cowardice. He feels bullied by Corlys. He feels their offer to join their houses is almost an indictment of his legitimacy. But instead of privately declining the offer, he publicly slights his daughter. That was petty, Viserys.

Also! That "proud men don't like looking up" conversation with Lyonel was Viserys flirting, and you can't tell me Lyonel wasn't picking up the vibe.

3) It's kinda sad to me how most of Viserys' physical affection just...isn't returned. Except for Aemma, it's like 60/40 chance that a gesture is gonna be returned. Thinking mostly of the scene after Joffrey's birth where Viserys has white knuckle grip on Rhaenyra's hand, and she's just kind of holding it there in a limp fist. He even has to shake her arm a little to get her attention back. Also, it took six episodes to get a hug from the two of them???? And I don't think it's a mistake that Viserys is most affectionate with her when she's so explicitly maternal, right down to wearing her mother's Arryn colors.

yeah!! like viserys isnt stupid, he knows that theres some fighting there. i think he just underestimates how bad it is? just assumes its childhood rivalries that theyll grow out of? and thats why he makes his kids and grandkids kids start training together, hoping thatll fix it and doesnt ever address the actual problem that their mothers hate each other. (f&b goes more into this, but its mostly cut from the show… :/)

YES. i think its a lot of overthinking on viserys part, like worried that by saying this thing or that thing, hell upset rhaenyra. so he doesnt tell her anything, but THATS the thing that upsets her! you can even see in ep 2? when he talks to her about having to remarry, how grateful she is for him to just open up to her! she just wants to know whats going on dummy!

but then again, when theyre having dinner (in i think the same episode?) he tells her they should be able to be open with each other, say whatevers on their mind and rhaenyra responds by saying hes the king and can say whatever he likes, viserys looks almost… upset by that. and otto in ep3 telling him that rhaenyra will do as he commands, and viserys says he doesnt want to command her. i think the very idea of having an open and honest relationship with your children, especially as a father to daughter, is not.. all that common for that time? even more that hes not just rhaenyras father but also her King, complicates it more. (and this is maybe part of where the emotional incest comes from too?)

2. it definitely feels like viserys is threatened, or atleast intimidated by corlys? i have my own little headcanon that as kids viserys had a crush on rhaenys. he always assumed they would be the ones getting married, until she goes off and married corlys instead and that sorta started the animosity between them. corlys dislikes viserys as well, sees him as this soft, weak man unworthy of the crown AND his wifes usurper. theyre only barely tolerating each other for rhaenys sake. but that aside, i agree i think viserys saw the marriage offer to laena as a slight to him. like as a way to ‘fix’ the ‘mistake’ of the council of 101, saying more about viserys own lack of self esteem than anything else. laena was also like, 12 at that point right? i think seeing her all dressed up like that reminded him of aemma, who he married at 11, and he was hit with a wave of ‘oh gods i cant do this again’ so he ran and tripped and fell in the opposite direction.

2.5 IT WAS ABSOLUTELY FLIRTING YES. im so glad someone else sees the lyonel x viserys agenda. viserys calling lyonel in, alone, telling him to keep sitting. who do u think i should marry 🥺👉👈. he wanted lyonel to say himself… the way he kept pacing around, leaning on the table, over the chair. he was nervous infront of his crush!

3. ive been going through getting screenshots of hotd lately and it absolutely killed me how aemma and viserys were always holding hands, playing with each others fingers… i hadnt noticed it until you pointed it out but yeah… after she dies he doesnt really have that physical affection with anyone else. i think like, its maybe daemon? as the only other person we see him interact with like that? is that really the only time we see viserys and rhaenyra hug im gonna do something crazy….. but ALSO have to agree i dont think its a mistake! he was absolutely seeing the ghost of aemma there

Snotlout has the most development throughout all the franchise and im so so so grateful. Dreamworks gave us this little prick of a kid and said "actuallywe are going to make him so likeable". Httyd has always been on some kevel about defying expectation and exploration and Thawfest (although apparently people dont like it) is sooo interesting to me. I rant abt it so much literally they DID that. Snotlout could so easily have been the annoying, sarcy comedic relief but hes NOT!!! Thawfest comes around and you realise, this kids not even insecure, hes just scared. Hes scared of the dad who he clearly admires so much. and thats so interesting?????? And they reiderate time and time again that Spitelout is not going to get better. Everytime we see him its a back and forth, maybe this time we'll see him redeemed! it is a kids franchise, after all! and Although apparently in the end it isnt handled very well, for the most part, he doesnt get better. Snotlout learns the lesson that he can be whatever HE wants to be, and NOT what his dad wants him to be - and he forgets it. and thats so important to me. Its not cut and dry. its NEVER been cut and dry. Yes spitelout's a bad person, but Snotlout still loves him, he still admires him, he still pines for his attention. Theres never ONE moment where he cuts him off (although I would of liked to see a final moment where he does), its constant. Stoick apologised to Hiccup, they made ammends. But Spitelout is not Stoick, and they do not have to make up. Its so importsnt to me that httyd (for the most part) never made a statement that forgiveness is neccessary because theyre family. You can tell Snotlout does not like his dads company, but wants it when he doesnt have it. Hes a character that has so much more depth than you would expect for a dreamworks kids show and it all links back together. Hes a cocky bastard -> because his dad doesnt let him show weakness. He is neglective to hookfang -> because thats all he knows. He prioritises masculinity over health and safety -> because his dad says he has to. And he never fully grows out of it, either. He still glances to see if anyone catches him crying when hes 20. He still has a big mouth and flirts with anything that moves and freezes up when they flirt back. He still pines for the approval of people he considers to be above him, but he continues to be everything that his dad isnt.

And we're given this, a treat, by the people up at dreamworks. People who clearly care about the character they are presenting here. People that werent even necessarily at the time getting positive feedback from this character. And they said, "Now that hes likeable, lets make him relateable." And they gave us the Thor Bonecrusher episode. I will never get over mlm Snotlout Jorgenson. I have to take a step back and look at these characters Ive known for all my life to the point they feel as tangible as I am myself, and I get to say, "Hes just like me." Hes queer and its wonderful. like thats canon. And theres never a MOMENT where he gets made fun of for it in universe. they make fun of him for being a simp, sure, but never for liking men? It has its flaws of course, but I can never NOT gush about how lovely httyd is. they put so much care into all of their characters (except heather 420 blaze it no one cares anyway). Idk i just. they really did everything with Snotlout huh. <3

He has such significant character development across so much time, like he starts out as this very insecure, cocky bully, and we get to see him change into a mature, caring leader and a good friend and it’s????? Totally believable?? We watch him go on this incredible journey and grow up so much. Even the episodes he doesn’t change in (like big man on berk) expand on the different sides of his character that we don’t always get to see. They have so much time to expand on him and let him grow and they do and I literally love him so much, he was handled so well in the shows.

1. 🧡 Dan Wilds🦊- (I'll be using he/him pronouns bc of my trans hc :3 )

🐾 um Adam Parrish to the max. Getting all his money taken by his family and then cutting them off as soon as possible? "Trailer trash"? I couldn't believe the similarities. Bc of this he Hates for his space to get to messy. He's always going around picking up after his friends (unless he's drunk, then he sits in Matt's lap and doesn't worry about it).

🐾He likes Italian food the best

🐾Unironic pop music lover and will launch into a rant about how the 2000s were the best time for pop music

🐾Motherfucker who wears athletic wear exclusively

🐾 His tiktoks have vine energy bc he has an impeccable sense of when they boys are about to do something funny

🐾He likes to be organized but doesn't bother with a planner - he's a rebel like that. Besides what's on the calendar in the foxhole court lounge he keeps it all in his head (but he does utilize sticky notes)

🐾Matt is his peace. Matt knows when to stand up for him and when to be quiet (but Dan gives him hints by squeezing his nails into him).

🐾One time he did this sort of Gus Waters (tfios) thing where he laid down on the dorm floor and pretended to be dead and had everyone give an impromptu eulogy. He played it off as a joke but Matt suspected he was trying to get some reassurance about his place in the world.

🐾Despite sidestepping his own feelings, he's one of the more articulate and careful when it comes to helping his teammates. He has an uncanny ability to sense exactly what someone's struggling with emotionally and bring it up tactfully, like Neil taking too many classes

🐾Many things rage trigger him. Stupid people in class mostly, but he tries to keep it in check by ranting to Matt or the group chat when he feels like it would be a waste of time to yell at whoever he's mad at.

🐾Matt and Wymack are good to push and shove if he needs a physical outlet. They're also good to curl up to when Dan inevitably breaks down crying after a rage episode.

🐾I once saw a tiktok of a stripper that was like "when men give me all their money and think they're in love with me but I'm just a little autistic boy in a wig". Yeah thats him. He likes his stripper girlfriends and they like him because they're all scrappy and do what it takes to survive. Dan respects that in anyone.

🐾 When the monsters took him to Eden's he was Pissed the Fuck Off about being drugged and gave them all a mouthful for that for 45 minutes before it fully kicked in and he started to answer questions

🐾Likes "white trash" movies like the hangover and we're the millers. Been watching South park since he was a kid

🐾Sweet tooth boy :3 he loves candy, especially chocolate. Has Matt trained to catch m&ms in his mouth

2. 🧡Matt Boyd🦊 -

🐾He has this bumbumz named Matt on his bed. He has several stuffed animals because the upperclassmen (and Neil) buy them for him and he's not too masculine to keep them on his bed. They get ones that remind them of him like sharks and bears

🐾 He dresses like a redneck with bootcut jeans and boots on a normal day (Allison, throwing up)

I feel like him and Seth make out when they're drunk!!! I'm sorry I want this to be them

Dan and Allison both support it so they have a reason to tell Seth to shut the fuck up when he gets on Nickys case.

🐾This horrible bastard likes country music. Do not give him the aux cord. He also likes to hike when he can, to the see mountains and waterfalls. Renee and Dan are sometimes down. If seth and Allison come it's to drink around the bonfire.

🐾 Loves karaoke and likes to let his friends pick the song for maximum silly. Picture him doing Superstar by the Carpenters (Allison's choice) or Rockstar by nickelback (Seth's choice)

🐾He likes action movies and spy movies (John wick, James bond, and of course fast & furious)

🐾Will eat most food but he likes sushi best. He has this in common with Allison. Dan once got sick after eating sushi and will now barely touch it.

🐾When the monsters took Matt to Eden's Twilight he just rambled on about how he doesn't feel like he fits in anywhere. Not redneck enough for SC, not preppy enough to fall in with rich kids. How he feels like a fuckup rich kid doing it for attention, like he doesn't deserve to be a fox. Andrew was like jfc I didn't sign up to do emotional labor on this man. Matt feels good when he's high and with the upperclassmen tho.

🐾Absolutely holds a grudge for Andrew forcing him to get clean by making him too high and sick. Thinks its fucked up that Aaron got the same loving treatment and begrudges that Aaron won't talk to him about it.

3. 🧡Seth Gordon🦊 -

🐾 horrible ex scene kid. Has studded belts and fingerless gloves in his closet. I see him with snake bites and/or an eyebrow piercing. Don't give his ass the aux cord either - he likes Hollywood undead, 3OH!3, and msi. Also likes YouTube video game music that treads dangerously close to nightcore. Has dyed his hair black. Dunked on 1D but listened to blood on the dance floor

🐾Watches video game twitch streamers and would do that if he wansnt playing exy. Wants Allison to be his hot cat ears gamer girl bath water twitch gf. Allison doesn't hate the aesthetic but doesn't wanna give him the satisfaction simply because it would go directly to his dick

🐾Mr. Where's my redbull and vape. Allison or Matt has to make him eat breakfast.

🐾Definitely takes ab thirst trap pics in the gym mirror

🐾Dyscalculia king. Neil helps him with math and it's painful for everyone involved

🐾His trauma is giving Ron Anderson meets Ethan r&m to me. Gotta be something with his dad. He wakes up anxious and Matt has to calm his nerves by being stable and gives him any medicine he needs. If he heard a balloon pop during this time he would recreate Gordys Home.

🐾Does crackers and smokes weed, but he and Allison are the annoying couple that exclusively smokes together or he has to call/text her and ask

🐾He likes fast good best. Give him pizza, nuggets, fries, or taco bell and he's happy. He also mixes food together like Allison Reynolds (lol) from the breakfast club, like making a cereal sandwich.

🐾Matt and Allison split the work of taking care of him and it makes Seth sooo happy to have a dependable bro who likes him all the time and doesn't think he's an asshole

🐾Lets himself get dragged to whatever publicity events Allison has to do when she's back home with her family, even lets her put him in suits and style his hair instead of wearing a fucking Rick and Morty hoodie and sweats

🐾His favorite movies are 80s and 90s black comedies (Heather's lover JD kinnie)

4. 🧡Allison Reynolds 🦊-

🐾 also a pop music warrior of course but also definitely kpop (girl groups mostly). Definitely makes seth watch the videos and learn their names. Has a light stick for the concerts.

🐾She loves to wear heels and feels very natural in them. Very coordinated bc of this and is the hero that brings the drinks from the bar to the table.

🐾Buys Seth expensive man jewelry and doesn't care if he likes it, it's worth it for her to see him look nice

🐾She likes to be platinum blonde or at least have streaks in her hair

🐾Dyson hair tools warrior (I don't actually know what they're called bc I've only ever heard about them secondhand lol). Makeup expert. Does related brand deals for her insta

🐾Also a sushi warrior Claire Standish style and Seth thinks she's insane for it. Can take a Wasabi shot without blinking. Eats Wasabi peas as a snack (and feeds them to Renee).

🐾Her favorite movie candy is nerd clusters and she likes breakfast food the best :3 she's happy if you throw her an egg Mcmuffin any time of the day

🐾She listens to Christian contemporary and artists that started on Disney. The first CD she bought with her own money was Hillary Duff's Metamorphosis.

🐾Her first foray into hair dying was with kool-aid packs. Dip dying. Maybe if she'd known seth he would have given her raccoon tails with sharpies

🐾She likes to draw and write on her hands. She does it when she's anxious or wants to hurt herself (and Andrew isn't around to spar with). She likes to know she created something beautiful out of her bad feelings.

🐾Tiny butterfly clip girlie. The foxes are always stealing her tiny clips and bracelets. She's also got big keychain swag and they steal cute little trinkets for her keyring.

🐾Instead of a purse she carries a little backpack, maybe even a stuffed animal one, and always has a pocket for survival supplies. Bandaids, a knife, a lighter, even matches. It makes Dan feel safe to know that she's prepared (Dan won't carry a bag because he's Masc™).

🐾She likes to do conservative makeup Buffy Summers style with cute colorful eyeshadows and lip tints

OKAY SO "PISTOL" RANT TIME CAUSE THIS HAS BEEN ON MY MIND ALL WEEK !!

(Spoiler alert ahead ! If u havent watched the FX series "Pistol" yet and are planning to, and dont want anything spoiled, then skip over this post)

So I've been OBSESSED with Pistol since I first watched it, right ? (Like I've rewatched the whole show at least 3 times in the last 2 weeks it's so good) And I just wanna say - this show does a really good job of making u feel sympathetic towards certain characters. For me at least. Particularly, Johnny Rotten. Apparently he's a disgrace to the punk community nowadays lol but I loved his character in the show. He was a lunatic but the way he was portrayed made you want to feel bad for him at certain times. This show made him out to be a pretty good guy tbh. At least back in the day.

But listen, this aspect in particular really got me; the way the show portrays Sid and Johnny's friendship. There are multiple scenes where it's made clear that Sid is someone that Johnny genuinely cares about (and vice versa), like in one scene a bar fight breaks out and Johnny gets hit with a glass bottle and cuts his arm, right ? So Sid goes fuckin ape shit on the guy who attacked his friend, and then he grabs Johnny and leads him out of whatever club (?) they were at. The very next scene is just Sid and Johnny sitting in a dark room together, and Sids like "They (John's band members, as this was prior to Sid joining the band) should've kept an eye on you. You're the face.. and what makes the band the band.." and he keeps going on, saying how the other band members should appreciate Johnny and take better care of him. And Johnny's like "you're my only real mate, Sid." JSJSJSJW BRO THATS SO WHOLESOME BUT KINDA SAD AT THE SAME TIME. And then in the same scene, Sid says something like "you're gonna need another (friend), for later. I'll be dead by the time I'm 21." And Johnny scolds him like "Dont say stupid things like that." and then he offers to make Sid a cup of tea. Like, bro, this man CARES ABOUT HIS FRIEND OKAY AND ITS ADORABLE. And then in later episodes the two are constantly looking out for each other. Johnny expresses his worries about Nancy's influence on Sid, at one point telling him "I know what you're doing (in reference to the drugs Nancy got him hooked on), that shit will kill you !". And in the last scene u see of the two together, Sids in a hospital bed having had a minor OD and Johnny's talking to him like "you couldn't even make it back to London without ODing" and scolds him for how he let's Nancy control him, and Sid says to him quite possibly the meanest thing you could say to a person; "you're just jealous, because no one can write even one thing they love about you." And they stare at each other of a minute before Johnny turns and says "Goodbye, Sidney.", leaving a small bouquet of flowers at the end of Sids bed on his way out. And you'd assume that's the last time they spoke before Sid died. Like this man was constantly fucked over by his shitty narcissistic manager, picked on by his bandmates, kicked out of his own band (of which he was the fucking frontman) and now he's basically been abandoned by his best friend for a girl that arguably cost him his life in the end. Do u see why I sympathize with him ?

Johnny literally wanted Sid in the band because he "needed a mate", and because the other members "could be mean sometimes". He wanted Sid in the band because the other bandmates were being mean to him are u fucking kidding me. He asked for so little but he deserved so much 🥺 HE WAS A GOOD FRIEND OKAY, JOHNNY DESERVED BETTER. I SAID WHAT I SAID 🥺🥺🥺🥺

We need more shows with men who have genuine friendships cus listen the amount of times my little overly sensitive heart gushed for these two and their friendship UGH 😩🥺

Barbie

I finally watched Barbie and wanted to share my thoughts here. So, my sister saw this movie before me and was fascinated by the feminist message the movie supposedly had.

Now, I took this with a grain of salt.

My sister is six years younger and she`s currently going through this phase of "all men are idiots, all girls are the best thing in the world" that I think most of us girls go through. I was curious if this movie really had that message or if she was just looking too much into it.

Now, the movie definitely tried to give a message about feminism but not the way she says it did. At least in my opinion.

So, as you know if you read my previous posts, Im not great at recaps so Ill just talk about what I like and what I didn`t.

What I liked

We all know that Barbie has been an icon for decades. Most of us grew up playing with Barbies and watching her legendary movies but by far my favorite Barbie content comes from the online show Barbie Life in The Dreamhouse and let me tell you why.

I love the concept of Barbie and everyone in this show being fully aware that they`re dolls. They even make jokes about it like Stacie complaining over not being able to make a campfire with two plastic sticks.

I was so happy that the movie took that concept of Barbie being real but a doll at the same time.

I also love that they took the same approach with Ken. In Life in The Dreamhouse, Ken is completely obsessed with Barbie, so much so that in one episode he tried to look for a job while Barbie was too busy to pay attention to him but ended up failing cause he could sense when Barbie needed him and ran to help her out. Then he realized that his perfect job was Barbie`s boyfriend.

He had nothing but adoration for his girl and I`m here for it.

Ryan Gossling played him so well that I genuinely felt bad that Barbie didn`t have feelings for him.

And thats my biggest take in here. I know that saying this might be controversial and many are going to hate me but, for me, the star of this movie was Ken. In fact, all the Kens stole the show.

Another amazing part of Life in the Dreamhouse was the rivalry between Ken and Ryan for Barbie`s attention. Here we have Ken (Ryan Gossling) vs Ken (Simu Liu) doing the same. I loved it.

They`re just two goofballs being goofy and it looks like both of them had a blast playing Ken.

I also liked how they structured Ken`s (Ryan Gossling) development.

At the beginning of the movie, we see this stereotypical good-looking blond guy. The only thing in his head is to impress his Barbie because thats what hes supposed to do. Unfortunately, Barbie doesnt seem interested in being more than friends which makes him feel insecure about himself.

Then, in the real world, we see him starting to gain some confidence once he realizes that the real world is mostly controlled by men unlike Barbieland and this gives him the idea to bring patriarchy to his world.

This makes him a stereotypical jerk that feels that hes entitled to adoration from all the Barbies just because hes a man. Toxic masculinity at it`s finest.

But we can also see that hes not happy about it. He doesn`t want to be part of the patriarchy, he just wants respect and a purpose in life and I honestly felt so much sympathy for him.

In the end, he tells Barbie that he feels hes nothing without her. He was created to be Barbie`s partner, nothing more. If it wasnt for her, he wouldn`t exist. This is when Barbie told him that he could be anything he wanted because he was Kenough (see what I did there?)

This was the best character development for me and I`ll explain to you why in a little.

Another amazing performance was Michael Cera as Allan.

Theres only one Allan and I'm a fan.

Allan is just a poor bystander in all of this.

He is trapped in Barbieland without a real purpose other than being Kens friend. And we are not even talking about Ryan Gossling`s Ken.

Allan is just every Kens friend and somehow hates all of them since most of the time he is alone. He even tries to escape Barbieland after the Kens take over.

He was hilarious without trying.

Now, let`s talk about Barbie aka Margot Robbie.

She did a fabulous job as Barbie. She was funny and cute when she needed to but she also was able to show darker emotions like sadness and anxiety.

I genuinely liked her character until she came back from the real world.

I loved the argument they made for Barbie. For years, Barbie has been attacked for being a "bad influence" on little girls. I`ll always take it personally.

Im a bit ashamed to admit this. Most girls got inspiration from Barbie to be big things like astronauts, scientists, doctors but that wasn`t the case with me.

Now, my goal wasn`t to be a tall, skinny blond superficial girl either.

My favorite thing to do with my Barbies was play with a little toy supermarket and bedroom set I got as a gift. That was one of my dreams.

Being able to go to the store, buy whatever I wanted with my own money and take it to my house in my cute red car. Those Barbies were who I wanted to be.

Driving my own car, owning my house, doing everything Barbie did on her own.

I love that they defended Barbie`s contribution to society. Teaching girls that you can be whatever you want is an amazing message.

I adore the sets for the movie. The Barbie aesthetic is definitely there.

The pastel colors looked nice, and, while I prefer the animated version of the dream house, I like that all of the houses look like they`re toys.

Like I said before, I love that they fully committed to the toy narrative and aesthetic. And the fashion in this movie is so iconic. I loved it.

Also, I want to give some love to the most underrated song in the movie. I know everyone loves "Barbie World" and "Dance the Night" but I feel like "What I was made for" by Billie Eilish is being overlooked.

It's a super emotional song. I´ve actually cried while hearing it because sometimes I also don't know what I was made for. I wished we heard more of it during the movie, especially when Barbie and Ken were questioning their existence.

Meh

This is where I talk about things that I didn´t like or love but I didn´t hate them.

I was okay with America Ferrera´s character, Grace. She gave a good speech about the pressure it meant to be a mom and a woman.

I also appreciate that she spoke for older generations that grew up with Barbie and understood that Barbie was more than just a doll for many of us.

But that´s about it.

We kind of see some deepness in her character, like she was struggling with her teenage daughter and job but the thing is that there are so many characters and storylines in this movie that we didn´t really focus on developing it more or at least showing it. They just told us she was struggling and that was that.

I didn´t go crazy for the weird Barbie character. Again, she was an okay character for me.

She clearly wasn´t meant as a main character, she was just like a vehicle to take Barbie from point A to point B. She told her how to solve her problems when her feet flattened and started to have thoughts about dying, she helped her and Gloria find a way to save Barbieland from the Kens.

Also, I did like that she was trying to save Barbieland before Barbie came back. She wasn´t just hanging around waiting for something to happen, she was trying to talk some sense into some Barbies.

Barbie starting to feel insecure about herself once she entered the real world was a nice detail but they didn´t elaborate on that.

She felt sad and anxious but forgot about it a couple of minutes later. It was weird.

What I didn´t like

Like I said before. for me, the best part of the movie was the Kens. They stole the show.

At the beginning, I was living for all the Barbies in this movie. Barbieland was a world completely ran by Barbies. Barbies were in the goverment. flew airplanes, travelled to space. I loved it.

But that love went away as the movie progressed.

Barbieland was awesome but none of the Barbies had a personality.

They were doctors, astronauts, and writers but that was it. They had nothing else going for them.

And the movie pointed this out without realizing it.

When Ken came back to Barbieland, and he started the patriarchy, it was incredibly easy for him to convince the Barbies to be submissive. It honestly felt insulting how easily he brought down the entire government and a bunch of powerful women.

Now, the movie tries to explain it like basically the Barbies never had anyone opposing their ways so they never learned how to fight back to different ideas but even then it just shows that the Barbies are just a bunch of airheads. Basically, filling the stereotype that Barbies only teach you that being pretty is the most important thing in the world.

I found it so weird that they added this narrative because, during the whole movie, we are told that Barbies are superior beings. They are smart, beautiful, and their world is perfect because of that.

And it wasn´t hard to convince them to change their mind either. Barbie. Grace, Sasha, and Weird Barbie just took them away, told them some feminist phrases and that was it. Back to normal.

It was weird how it was so progressive but backward at the same time.

Sasha is Grace´s daughter. She´s in her teenage years, rebelling, hating everything traditional, and being mean to her mom.

I hated her.

She was mean to her mom and Barbie and even when she changed her opinion on Barbie and her world she still rubbed me the wrong way. That´s everything I have to say about her.

As I mentioned before, for some reason this movie has a bunch of storylines going on at the same time.

Our first conflict is that Barbie´s life changed. She´s starting to feel human emotions, her feet are flat and she starts to look more like a human. Okay, that´s a good argument. let´s find out what is happening.

Then, we hear about Weird Barbie and she´s painted as this figure that the rest of the Barbies hate and make fun of. Again, a good storyline for Barbie to meet her and find out what´s going on with her.

Weird Barbie tells her that the girl that´s playing with her is having issues and she needs to go into the real world to find her. Once again, that´s a good storyline but that´s when everything goes everywhere.

Barbie keeps becoming more human and gets disappointed after seeing that the real world is nothing like Barbieland. Then, she just forgets about that for a second since she magically knows where to find Sasha, the girl she thought she was looking for.

At the same time, the executives at Mattel find out that Barbie and Ken were walking around the real world and went out to get her.

I found it interesting. Now we have a new villain and I thought that from now on, the Mattel executives were the enemy to beat.

Basically, by the time Barbie went back to Barbieland with Gloria and Sasha, we had conflicts going on. Barbie was still feeling terrible, Barbieland was dominated by the Kens, Sasha still hated the whole thing and the Mattel executives were going to Barbieland to take Gloria and her daughter and "fix" the issue with the Kens.

Here´s the thing. THE MATTEL EXECUTIVES DID NOTHING IN THE MOVIE. NOTHING. You could completely take them out and the movie would´ve ended up the same.

They were fillers, just something to give some time to cook up Ken´s plan.

To be fair, they tried to be funny and smart by pointing out that Mattel´s biggest product was made for girls but there were no women there. Not smart commentary but hey, they tried.

And once again, besides that comment and a weird chasing scene, they did nothing in the movie.

For a moment, I thought their purpose was to go to Barbieland to take control over all Barbies and Kens and that was why we should be worried but it wasn't the case. They just traveled all the way to Barbieland to appear at the end and agree with everything that happened.

It is also implied that, since Gloria works there, they would give her a better position in the company after her speech but nothing matters because we don´t see her getting it.

There´s something very interesting that was talked about during the whole movie but didn´t make a difference in the end.

Kens don´t matter in Barbieland. Their only purpose is to be there for their Barbies, they don´t even have houses and the Barbies don´t care about it.

That´s why the main Ken did everything he did. After he visited the real world, he realized he didn´t have to be treated that way.

That´s also why he had an identity crisis. He was created to be Barbie´s partner and nothing else. Since she kept rejecting him, he had no purpose.

I thought that the ending of the movie was going to be that Barbies and Kens realized the best way to live was doing it together.

Many seemed to forget that the main point behind feminism is not that girls are better than boys. Girls are as capable as boys and that´s why we should be treated equally. This movie doesn´t give a damn about that.

In the end, after the Barbies take back control, the Kens admit that they didn´t like having patriarchy, some missed their Barbies and they wanted to be something more than boy toys, even asking if they could be part of the government. What was the Barbies response? Yeah, maybe, we´ll see but probably not.

And that was it. All the drama for nothing because that was not the freaking ending.

I thought that the ending was going to be Barbie and the rest working together to change Barbieland and make it better for everyone.

But no.

The ending was Barbie asking to live in the real world.

I don´t know why. We don´t really see her being happy there or having a life-changing event that shows us that she wanted it, she just decided that she was going be human and you better like that cause feminism.

The movie was just all over the place.

I´m assuming they wanted to make a comedic movie with some emotional moments which is fine. A lot of movies do it and it works fine.

Like, Guardians of the Galaxy, they balance the funny and sad scenes very well. Barbie didn´t.

I feel like that´s why the Kens were so appealing. The emotional scenes were bad but the comedy was so good that it was the only thing that stood up for me.

It´s an okay movie. Personally, I wouldn´t watch it again.

Maybe I would watch a compilation of Ken but not the whole movie again.

It wasn´t that entertaining and I felt like the "activism" they claimed to show is just to sell tickets. But I think it´s fine if you liked it.

Barbie and Margot Robbie are icons and deserve love and recognition.
