oh i didnt really explain why this kinda behavior is homophobic as well. (disclaimer: me calling an action homophobic is not the same as me calling an individual homophobic.) a lot of ppl use pj and sophie as a direct comparison straight couple example. pj has only directly called sophie his girlfriend once, and it was in the context reading someone's poorly written article about him lmao. otherwise, its known that they met in uni, have lived together since then, have worked on nearly every kickthepj project together, and generally their on screen energy is really sweet and funny. they also have a cat together and call themselves a family. it's not a stretch to say they're together in the slightest. in fact, it is just natural to assume so.

BUT when dnp who are now publicly out, have been very open about how much they mean to each other, have lived together since dan was in uni, have worked on nearly every project together (even in solo projects the other would help out behind the scenes), have a clear on camera chemistry together, had co-parented a fish, a pigeon, and several houseplants and possibly plan to get a dog or other pet in the future... suddenly it's wrong to assume anything.

i understand the fear that may come from having been in the phandom since when they were closeted and it was much harder to talk about it without seeming like youre aligned with stalkers or ppl who harassed their families or dnp themselves to reveal more information, but thats not the case anymore, and ESPECIALLY if you discovered them post-gay, it's such a flimsy argument to say anyone is breaching privacy in that way.

now there are still some like unspoken basic decency and boundary rules. you probably shouldnt be @'ing them in your smutfics or even your pretty innocent theories about them being super duper in gay love. dnp themselves understand that if they aren't being @ tagged in something, it's probably not meant for them to see, and even acknowledged that in the twitter memes video. but us talking about it in our own spaces, especially on tumblr where they arent on as much but also on twitter BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT THEYRE NOT MEANT TO SEE IT, is not the same as being like hey @/danielhowell @/amazingphil do you fuck nasty i gotta know if you fuck nasty. (but even if i were to do that, i feel like its very clearly a joke lmao)

so like just dont worry about it, if you still personally dont like seeing ppl talk abt this stuff regardless, you can mute and block people, you can blacklist tags, you can curate your own experience to fit your needs and you dont need to harass other people into suiting your needs.

So anyways, this is my first Harry Potter fic, and I will now be taking prompts for Harry Potter. I've been watching the movies a lot lately and will be reading the books soon so I'm on a HP kick right now. So here is the fic, it is Lee Harry and Ler Fred and George cause brotherly bonds are precious

The year at Hogwarts has nearly wrapped, and Harry has more fun than he had ever had before. Growing up in an enevironment where you're hated for being a wizard and just existing was tough, but it was nice to be surrounded by other wizards all year

But in just a few more weeks he would be back with the Dursley's. Ugh

Little 11 year old Harry is dreading going back there where he basically is treated like a slave and has to grow up in a tiny room under the stairs. It was the reason he is the smallest person in his year; the small walls don't really allow much growing. The more he thinks about it, the more upset he gets

And he has a family at Hogwarts now. Ron, Hermione, Neville, and the twins. And he can only imagine the group growing. He was going to miss them. And that is what he was truly upset about

Ron can tell something is bothering Harry, and he isn't quite sure what it is. But he does know that his brothers are very good at cheering people up. So he quietly told them that Harry has been sad lately

And of course, the twins saw this as a challenge

"Hey Harry," they say at practically the same time, sitting on the bed Harry is sat on, twiddling with his fingers

"Hi," Harry says glumly, not looking up from his fingers

Damn, Fred thought to himself, he really IS sad. For a kid who is usually filled with wonder at seeing magic that he thought never existed, this is a bit out of character, and a whole lot closer to how Harry acted the first time they met

"Why are you so sad?" George asked, curious, also not expecting to see Harry this sad

"I'm going to miss everyone...." Harry admitted pretty quickly. "I don't want to go back to the Dursley's...."

"Well, it's only 2 months you'll be there," Fred attempted to cheer the small boy up

"And that's about 2 months too long,"

"Well," George is about to make a joke, in a small attempt to make the boy who lived laugh. "We could always tickle you to cheer you up," he jokes

"Tickle? What's that," Harry asks, confusedly

Fred did a double take. "Tickling?" He asks, flabbergasted

"I haven't heard of it," Harry's innocent little voice could turn anyone in to a tickle monster, never mind the fact he is asking what it is, and two people who are prone to tickle monster tendencies already can feel it gearing up

"Why don't we show you," Fred smirks, pinning Harry down gently, knowing he and his brother had the same idea

"I-what?" Harry looks up at them, slightly confused and mostly very afraid at how he just got pinned. George smirks and wiggles his fingers at Harry. "Ready?"

Harry isn't sure why, but the wiggling fingers make him feel really weird. It gives him a tingling in his little tummy, and he looks at George innocently

George immediately presses in to Harry's sides, squeezing and wriggling in

"Hehehehe what's thahahahat," Harry giggles adorably, face scrunching up in his squeaks

Fred coos, "So The Boy Who Lived is ticklish? How cute,"

Harry gets a small blush across his cheeks at that, squirming around time try and get away from the fingers pressing in and wriggling in his sides. "Stahahahahap!" He laughs, though he actually thinks this is quite fun

"Stop in your sides? Okay, how about here," George smirkd and goes up the ribs, "Do you know how many ribs there are?"

"Uh-uhuhm," Harry tries to think, but just the fingers resting at his ribs is making him squirm

"Let's count, one, two," George tickles each individual rib, smirking. He knows how much this kills his younger siblings, and expects the same from Harry, who is honestly becoming like a little brother now

"WahaHAHAHAHAIT!" Harry squeals, kicking his feet and pulling at his hands to push George away, but Fred's hands were not budging

"Wait for what, Harry?" Fred laughs, "Don't you want to know how many ribs you have?"

"SOHOHOHOHOMEWHERE EHEHEHEHELSE!" Harry cries in laughter

George grins, assuming that that is Harry's tickle spot, and going in to Harry's belly, thinking h th at will be a break for him

But Harry just goes wide eyed, squealing loudly, "AHHHH!" At the fingers mercilessly getting his belly

Fred grins, "I think we just landed on your tickle spot," cooing at how cute that is

"WHAHAHAHATS THAHAHAHAT, I-EHEHEHEHE!" Harry squeals, not being able to form coherent sentences anymore

"Ha, what? I don't understand you," George smirks, slipping underneath the shirt and pinching at Harry's tummy. "I am getting kind of hungry,"

Fred nearly laughed. What a mean thing to do to someone who has never been tickled before

"Go eheheheheat then," Harry says, having no idea what is about to happen his poor tummy

"Trust me, I'm going to," George smirks, pulling Harry's shirt up and leaning down, blowing a raspberry on to Harry's belly

This is what really got Harry. He squealed and kicked, desperately pulling at his hands that he knew were never going to get free and twisted his body, trying to escape from George's lips

George smirks, and than blew again, shaking his head this time and not letting up at all

Poor Harry can hardly breathe, and he kept attempting escape though he just had to lay there and take it, it was fun though and got his mind happy again

When George and Fred finally leaned up and let Harry go, they smirk, "That is tickling," they grin

i think tumblr phannies and twitter phannies have a lot of misconceptions about each other. twitter phannies think all tumblr phannies are 40 year olds who are obsessed with dan and phil’s sex life whereas tumble phannies think all twitter phannies are 12 year olds who still think of dnp as innocent and while i would say people on twitter are generally a lot younger than those on tumblr, most of the drama just involves the 15 year olds canceling each other over dumb shit they did to each other. it’s rarely about dnp and when it is it’s because someone says they suck at communicating and only care about money

I definitely view Twitter phannies as being 14-18 years old and cancelling dnp/each other over something probably pretty stupid at least once a week. The logical part of my brain knows this probably isn’t true but all Twitter phannies are like that in my mind

My Story of Developing a Crush on Phil:

I started watching Dan and Phil like,2014-2015? I only had a huge crush for Dan, I thought he was cute, his dimples, his voice, his eyes, his style (I’m just rambling, everything is perfect about Dan!)

For 3-4 years I only had a thing for Dan. He was basically what I basically looked for in a guy: funny, cute, memey, caring, adorable, and very inappropriate 😂

As the 3-4 years passed, I continued watching Dan and Phil. Phil; quite quirky, innocent (yeah sure lol), funny, always eating, and always acted super adorable. I thought his personality was perfect, but I just never liked how he looked. My dumb self, I for the most part, go based off looks and only sometimes personality (Reason why I have an actual liking to the guys that bully me at school. But that's a whole another stupid ass story..) Phil’s personality caught me to the extent of wanting to be his very close friend but not have a crush on him.

If my information is correct, In March of 2018, Phil put his hair into a quiff and I really didn't think much of it other than like the whole fandom {FOREHEAD DJSISJD} you know.

I don't know when these pictures were released but I found them through starting up my DNP Tumblr, I literally just in the moment fell in love with Phil.

These two pictures converted me from just wanted to be his friend, to actually a huge crush. I still have a huge crush on Dan, (Of course ;3)

Phil really came up on me quick with all his other pictures after that, for some reason I feel like it's just his confidence in showing off and his just structure of his face with more of his forehead but I really don't know..

i always hate it when the phandom goes fbi on them it makes me uncomfortable. a years ago when i had a different tumblr and only followed 25 people somehow my dash was still flooded with 'where in the world is dan' and i was more confused as to why people cared so much. that whole week in march was worse because people were quick to assume it was phan and wouldn't leave him alone about it. (i didn't watch the liveshow so i don't know exactly what happened i just know it was about depression)

and then dan says something about making a vid that was a long time coming and people automatically think its him "coming out" and when he puts out a internet help group or whatever its called, this girl put out tons of vids about how it was gonna be phan and hyped so many people up and when it wasn't that, a bunch of people on twitter were being extra, "thats it?" "i was expecting a differnt vid dan" "dan that vid wasn't all that special". so they tried to get #welovedan trending on twitter -_-

then she does the same thing with phil making a vid and when it turned out he was only making a vid about his poor gym experience she was mad for some reason. then dan does a liveshow where he talks about wanting to go on tour again and poeple assume its phan related before he even finishes a goddamn sentence. and people go through all of that, taking stuff they say, blowing up expectation/assuming stuff/hounding them and then have the audacity to say theyre the ones queerbaiting

that stuff just makes me so angry. i know the difference between phans/shippers joking and stuff but when it gets like this, it isn't funny. this isn't as bad as following them to their house, but it really up there. theyve both got anxiety and they do so much for us and while i do think theyre in a relationship, i just get a little freaked out when thousands of people are picking apart their life and stating it as hard fact and getting mad at them or questioning them when expectations arent met

and then when someone says they don't ship phan or they're not in the phandom, they get attacked. not that they dont like dnp, not that they know for sure if theyre together or not, they're just not in the phandom and they don't ship anyone. nothing wrong with that. someone prefers top!dan? they get 100 comments on THEIR story as to why theyre wrong and that they should die. you only like phil's vids? danphobe. you prefer dan? dangirl piece of shit. kys.

you don't ship phan and you just like their vids (without hating on shippers), kys because it's obvious you only want them for yourself. i'm aware that there's plenty of phantis who actually are bothersome, but i also know that not everyone who doesn't ship it is necessarily a phanti or problematic. you don't like a vid that dan or phil made, then you're ungrateful, you're spreading negativity, and you're making the phandom toxic

despite the fact that many people have said before that what makes people hate the phandom is that no one can dislike them without getting death threats. sorry i'm ranting to you about this i'm just really irritated about a lot of things. i'm done now.

damn thats a long rant but i agree with so much of what you said. i wanna just say that i’m not innocent in this. during the bahamas drama i did a lot of “fbi” shit to snoop around and when dan made his video about the drama it was such a reality check for me. i realized that what i was doing was definitely unhealthy and i stopped that shit. 

here is the thing: its fun to theorize with your friends, but then you have to realize that its only a theory! people have all these expectations built up and when whatever happens (usually) isn’t that big of a deal, people get angry! and I totally agree with what you said about queerbaiting! dnp don’t do anything! its us who take double meanings of everything.

its fun to ship dan and phil cause they do care for each other. but to be honest? their relationship isn’t that different from my roommate and mine’s! my roommate and i love each other and care for each other and its just another type of bond/relationship. she has a boyfriend that she is happy with and I am attracted to whoever I am attracted to at that time. 

a lot of the phandom appreciates dan and phil for their relationship rather than their videos. i know people are gonna defend themselves, but honestly ask yourself if either dan or phil had another significant other, do you not think they would be attacked and be cyber bullied? 

anyways, that was my rant in response to yours and i agree with you on so much stuff. i hope people realize that they do need to take a step back and look at dan and phil as individual people.

“So you’re meeting Dan tomorrow, right?” Craig used the sign Phil had long been using for Dan’s name, a “D” over his heart.

Phil nodded, smiling at his old friend over the Skype connection. “I can’t believe he’s finally coming.”

“And then you’ll both be … coming,” Craig joked, waggling his eyebrows and making the sign for “coming” exaggerated. The joke didn’t precisely translate into BSL, but Craig wasn’t deaf or a part of that community, and so his signing had always been a bit eccentric. He’d only learned from Phil when they were kids, after all—the same way any neighbor kids who’ve been friends since diapers might learn each other’s language.

Phil glanced away, unsure if Craig would understand. Then he looked back at the laptop. “Dan’s had a rough time. He didn’t have a bunch of friends who understood, like I did at the Deaf school. He’s been alone all these years, with everybody treating him like a freak.” He hesitated, uncertain if he should reveal a confidence, then added, “He says he’s never even had a real friend before. Not since he was a little kid. Not since he stopped talking.”

Craig’s expression had changed. “Wow,” he signed slowly, his face showing his sympathy. Facial expression and body language make up a big part of BSL, and Phil could see that Craig understood better now. “So he’s never…” Craig paused. “He’s a little younger, yeah, but he’s nearly our age, and he’s never … has he never dated anyone?”

Phil shook his head. He didn’t say anything more, just gazing at his oldest friend and letting his feelings show on his face.

Craig’s chest rose and fell in what Phil assumed was a sigh. His face was all compassion now. “Have you two talked about it?”

This time Phil was the one who sighed. He shook his head again and signed, “Sex?” Craig nodded. “No. I haven’t wanted to bring it up.”

“So what do you think is going to happen when you meet?” Craig asked.

Phil shook his head and shrugged, “I don’t want him to feel pressured or uncomfortable. He might not be ready for any of that.”

Craig was frowning again. “So … you’ve been calling this guy your boyfriend for ages, but you haven’t done any cyber … or sexting … or anything?”

Phil rubbed a hand over his face, then wearily shook his head again. “You don’t understand.”

Craig’s eyes were gentle when he signed, “I know.” Phil smiled gratefully. Craig continued, “How are you doing with that, though? I mean, you haven’t been dating anyone else, have you?”

Phil’s gestured emphatically, “No!” then added, “Not since I started falling in love with him.”

Craig bit his lip, hesitated, and then asked, “So you haven’t had any kind of sex in … how long?” He made a sympathetically pained face.

Phil laughed ruefully and rubbed a hand through his hair. He grimaced a bit when he replied, “A long time.”

“Okay. This might sound insensitive, but…” Craig hesitated before finishing, “does Dan know what a player you used to be?” He raised his eyebrows.

Phil rolled his eyes and scoffed, “I wasn’t a ‘player’!”

Craig laughed and signed, “I know several girls and guys who would gleefully offer testimony to refute that statement.”

Phil blushed and laughed with Craig. One of the problems with knowing someone your whole life: you couldn’t get away with playing innocent. “No,” he admitted, glaring a bit at his remorseless friend. “No, I haven’t given him a detailed description of my long and illustrious sexual history.” They both laughed again.

Then Craig’s face became serious and he asked, “But you aren’t sure if Dan is going to be into that?”

Phil shrugged. “I love him,” he explained simply. “That’s what’s important. The other stuff…” He waved a hand dismissively.

Craig raised his eyebrows in disbelief. “You’re saying that you don’t care about sex at all? Seriously?”

Phil sobered, all trace of joking gone. “Not like I care about Dan.” He took a deep breath, then let it out in a long sigh. “I just want to be with him,” he signed, his heart aching.

Craig smiled at him. “And tomorrow you will be. Finally!” Phil smiled a little, trying to shake off his worries. Then Craig added mischievously, “And don’t worry about the rest. If worse comes to worse, your right hand will always be there for you.”

Phil’s mouth dropped open in disbelief but he couldn’t help but laugh. He grabbed the pillow from behind him on the bed and hit the laptop with it, as if swatting Craig in person. When he looked at the screen again, Craig just grinned at him, completely unrepentant. Phil shook his head, still laughing.

“Now get some sleep, loser,” Craig signed affectionately. “You’ve got a big day tomorrow. Good luck.”

Phil took another deep breath and then let it out slowly. “I’m trying not to be nervous,” he admitted.

Craig smiled fondly and said, “It’s going to be great. You guys know each other, even if you haven’t met in person before. Just … be yourself. And I hope someday I get to meet him.”

Phil grinned. “I’d like that.”

Craig shooed his hands at Phil before signing, “Go! Get your beauty rest! You want to look pretty for your boyfriend tomorrow!” He grinned again.

Phil rolled his eyes and nodded, then waved goodbye to Craig before signing off.

Talking it through must have helped, because he felt a lot less anxious than he had before the call. He lay in the dark, thinking that tomorrow he would get to see Dan’s brown eyes in person, and he fell asleep with an excited stomach as if when he woke it would be Christmas morning.

Ugh, I fucking knew this would happen. This makes me so unbelievably angry and I’m sorry you’re suffering, too. It is unfair, disgusting, and downright dirty of those people to do that, and it makes me so fucking upset. (And, for me personally, I’m a bit mad at myself bc I almost chose to go to the Nashville show, but I didn’t want to bc I would’ve stayed with family friends and would’ve been way too embarrassed since the kids my age would probably know who dnp are. But no, I chose St. Louis, and I possibly could’ve gotten VIP at Nashville. Hate myself lol)

It is unlikely this was the only venue where this happened, but I know for goddamn sure it wasn’t very common; most venues had their sales go along peachy keen! And I regret to say that it’s hard for me to go on tumblr seeing all these people who got VIPs when I worked so hard to get them and they were so unfairly taken away. (I want to be happy for these people, and for the most part I am, but I feel like I’ve got the right to be upset/jealous.)
