Little Harringrove ficlet set in like 2019, just before they get together
"You know, if we were superheroes, you'd be the Winter Soldier to my Captain America."
Steve had said it so casually, Billy almost hadn't paid it any mind. He was way too absorbed in cleaning up after their movie marathon, and so exhausted that he almost dreaded doing it again tomorrow night. He'd somehow thought that four to five movies a night would be no big deal, especially since Steve was letting him stay over at his house all week, but there was a lot to follow in these films, and entirely too many characters to keep track of. Still, Steve said they had to rewatch all of them before going to see the new one, Endgame or whatever, and Billy had finally let his best friend talk him into a movie marathon. He had a hard time saying no to him.
They'd started off with only four, watching Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk (which wasn't even part of the official lineup, but Steve insisted it was essential to establish the character), Iron Man 2, and Thor. The next night, they also did four, going from Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, and Thor: The Dark World.
Then tonight, they watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Ant-Man. They would've watched Captain America: Civil War, too, but they were both tired and had to get up early the next day, so they said they could do it tomorrow.
And now, just after he'd said it, as Billy folded the blankets and Steve swept the popcorn off the couch cushions, Billy stopped and stared at him.
"So, I remind you of a homicidal maniac with a metal arm that killed and injured numerous people without a second thought?" He asked bitterly, remembering the long-haired assassin that beat Captain America to a bloody pulp and then left him for dead on the bank of a river. "Gee, thanks."
"Well, yeah, that's part of him, too, but that's not what I meant," Steve said, tossing a popcorn kernel at Billy.
"Well, what did you mean, then?" Billy asked.
"I'm not giving you any spoilers! You'll just have to keep watching and figure it out." Steve gave him his most innocent evil smirk, and Billy only sighed. He loved his best friend, but he could be a fucking menace when he wanted to be.
The next night, they watched five movies. Starting with Civil War, then going on to Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok. Billy liked them all, but he still didn't get what Steve meant when he said he was like Bucky. And Steve still wouldn't tell him outright what he meant, because he didn't want to risk spoiling the movies, even though Billy assured him 100 times he didn't care.
The night after that, they watched the last four movies, since the next day they had tickets to go and see Endgame. Starting with Black Panther, then going on to Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and finally, Captain Marvel.
Billy hated to admit it, but he was getting just as into these movies as Steve was, and he was almost as excited for the new movie tomorrow, too. Still, he couldn't figure out what Steve had meant the other day. But he didn't want to ask again, he couldn't let Steve know it was bothering him.
But as they cleaned up the snacks and the trash, the pillows and the blankets and put the living room back together, he didn't have to.
"So, have you figured it out yet?" Steve asked as he fluffed the ugly, uncomfortable and probably really expensive throw pillows.
"Not really. I mean, I guess I get it a little. We're best friends, your name is Steve and mine starts with a B, ends in a y, and has two syllables, and even though we fight sometimes, we still stay friends or whatever. I still don't understand why I have to be the tortured cyborg and you get to be the popular Golden Boy, but it's whatever," Billy replied, shrugging as he picked up the dishes to take them to the kitchen. He could feel his heart stutter when Steve laughed.
"Actually, most of the people who like Marvel actually like Bucky more than Steve, but that's besides the point. You got part of it, but there's more to what I said than that."
He stopped fussing with the pillows then, and instead walked over to Billy, taking the plates and cups from his hands and putting them back on the coffee table. He was so close that their toes touched, and Billy could smell the pizza, popcorn and sugar on his breath. Billy almost sqeaked in surprise at the sudden proximity, and he could feel his heart start to speed in his chest.
"Soooo... you wanna clue me in then?" He asked, not quite sure where to look or what to do with his hands. Steve was taller than him, and he wasn't sure what to do with someone when he couldn't look down at them. It made him feel a little out of place, and he didn't know how to get back to the way he always felt with Steve. Like he could mess with him, be near him, talk to him and do anything with him and be perfectly happy with it. He wanted to always feel like that, but right now it felt different, like there was something hanging in the air between them that neither of them wanted to address just yet.
"Well, another thing that fans do, besides just liking Bucky more, is they like to analyze their relationship. I do that, too, sometimes, and I realized their dynamic is a lot like ours. We were friends, then some shit happened and we weren't, you beat me up a little, finally told me about all the shit you'd been through, and finally we were able to heal and get you some help. Maybe you're not 100% perfect yet, but we know we have each other and we know that we're gonna be with each other til the end of the line. Or, at least, I hope we will," Steve said, and despite how nervous Billy felt, he was a little flattered, too. Steve was one of the only good things left in his life, and to hear him say that he wanted Billy by his side through the rest of his life felt pretty amazing. Billy could already imagine it, the two of them living through thick and thin and still going to see their silly little superhero movies together 50 years later, when Marvel would release Captain America 24.
"But that's not all," Steve continued, bringing Billy out of his thoughts. "A lot of fans, myself included, look at the two of them and think they'd make a cute couple, some of us even believing that they already are one, but Marvel is just giving Steve female love interests because they're owned by Disney and are too cowardly to have any of the characters identify as LGBTQ+. But like I said, a lot of fans already ship the two of them together."
Billy felt his mouth going dry, his eyes searching Steve's face for any kind of confirmation that he meant what he was saying, that he wasn't reading this wrong. He figured it was pretty blatant what he was saying, there wasn't a whole lot of room to mistake this, but he wanted to be absolutely sure before he made a fool of himself.
"So what are you... what are you trying to tell me?" Billy asked, holding his breath.
"I'm trying to tell you that if I were Steve Rogers, and if you were Bucky Barnes, and the two of us had fought together in World War 2, been inseparable on both schoolyard and battlefield, promised each other that we'd be together until the end of the line, and I'd fought an entire Civil War against 117 countries to protect you because I never gave up on you... somewhere in there, I might’ve developed a feeling a bit stronger than just friendship for you."
"And if we weren't superheroes... If we were just ordinary people watching the movies, if you were just Steve Harrington and I was just Billy Hargrove... what then?"
Steve flashed him a smile, and Billy practically melted right there as Steve took one baby step closer, his fingers gentle brushing over Billy's arms before gripping his hands tightly.
"Well, if that were the case, then I'd say I've definitely developed those feelings a long time ago, but I was just too scared to say anything about it until now. And I'd say that I definitely really want to kiss you right now."
And who was Billy to refuse a sweet request like that? He finally had an opportunity to kiss Steve like he'd always wanted to, and he wasn't going to pass that up. He didn't waste any time in crashing their lips together, holding Steve close to him with one hand in his stupid perfect hair and the other wrapped around his back, nearly crushing him into himself. Steve hummed with laughter as he placed one of his hands on Billy's shoulders, the other resting on his hip where Billy's hand came to rest, covering it. They both felt alive with an electric charge going between their bodies, and even though they'd both closed their eyes and couldn't see, they knew they were both smiling like idiots. Billy could feel his heart jack-rabbiting in his chest, as if trying to tire itself out, but it was useless. Steve had never felt more butterflies in his stomach than he did right now, no one else had made it fill up with that many cocoons that had hatched all at once.
When they pulled apart, they couldn't help but giggle a little bit. Their respective little siblings would be both proud and incredibly too smug if they knew what had just happened. Max would be glad that they'd finally quit it with the pining, and Dustin would absolutely never shut up about how they were nerds just as much as he was. But right now they didn't have to think about their siblings, all they could think about was each other.
"Y'know, I think that in all those movies, Black Widow was only wrong about one thing," Billy said, smiling stupidly as he continued to hold Steve close. "Not everyone needs practice when it comes to kissing."
Steve laughed at that, loud and carefree, and Billy wished he would never have to go without that laugh. If Steve had really meant what he said though, he wouldn't have to. After all, they were gonna be stuck with each other from now on.
They'd be with each other til the end of the line.

summary: in a word full of boys, tom is a gentleman.
an: takes place before filming billy the kid

Tumblr media
“so keep your boyfriends hidden because y/n is newly single!”
“how many boyfriends has she had in the last four years?”
“clearly she’s the problem if she can’t keep a boyfriend.”
you heard it all. the names people called you, the headlines, news reports. it was always the same. people would rather shame you for your love life than be quiet. in the past you did joke that you went on many dates, clearly the media didn’t care if you were joking or not.
your manager had even banned you from looking at the really negative comments on your phone. twitter was having a field day with your love life.
“slut!” was the phrase often directed towards you. while your loyal fans defend you, you could still see all the hurtful things people said about you.
“do you want to cancel tomorrow’s interview?” lisa, your manager, asked one day. you hadn’t answered your phone at all and she was concerned so she drove to your new york apartment and let herself in with the spare key she had. she had found you in the darkness of your room curled up with your plethora of blankets.
“cancel everything. i just want to rest for a while.” you managed to say. lisa was like your second mom. she cared about you more than anything.
“we can do that.” lisa assured.
“lisa?” you turned to face her.
“yes?”
“thanks for checking on me.”
“always.”
after that conversation, lisa made some calls and any movie or tv show deal you had were quickly cancelled. over the next few days, the media found out that you pulled out of many movies from big franchises like marvel and star wars. it was always a dream of yours to be in anything marvel or star wars related, but for now, those projects had to continue without you.
many friends and colleagues reached out to you, but all you could do was send a simple ‘thank you’ and be done with it.
days passed and you were still in your apartment. you didn’t mind being alone, you liked it better that way. sometimes lisa or your parents would drop by or even your upstairs neighbor, mrs. davis, a nice old lady who knew that your favorite cupcakes were red velvet so she made you some to cheer you up.
it was a tuesday afternoon when you heard someone cursing multiple out in the hallway. you figured someone got locked out so you ignored it. pretty much everyone in the entire building got locked out at least once. you were ignoring the cursing as you continued reading your book and ate your red velvet cupcake that your kind neighbor had made you. a few seconds later, you heard a knock on your door.
“no.” you groaned as you stood up to answer the door. you opened it to find tom. you had only known him because you had a mutual friend so you were surprised to see him at your door.
“hi,” he spoke. “i called and texted . . a lot. i just wanted to see how you were.”
“i’m alive as you can see.” you said.
“i know you’ve been asked this question a lot lately but are you okay?”
that’s when you broke down. you couldn’t keep it together in front of tom, but he didn’t mind comforting you. somehow he knew exactly what you needed to hear.
he would often come over to keep you company when lisa or your parents couldn’t. he understood you didn’t want to step foot outside so he didn’t force you. instead, you two would go up to the terrace of your apartment building and hang out. tom would bring lunch or dinner depending on the time that he decided to visit. during that time, you two would talk about whatever would come to mind. tom did his best to avoid talking about work, but you always asked how his filming was going or if he had auditioned for anything new.
“i got the part,” he admitted. “i’m playing billy the kid.” he smiled brightly.
“I’m so happy for you, tom! you deserve it!” you hugged him.
“it’ll be announced next week. you’re the first to know, well apart from my manager.” he chuckled.
“you deserve that and more.” you smiled.
“you do too. other people should see that,” tom said. “you’re so talented and amazing and everything about you is so. . . incredible. i wish people see you the way i do.”
you were speechless.
“are you okay?” tom asked when he noticed you were quiet.
fuck. fuck. fuck FUCK he thought to himself
“you mean it?” you managed to say. you could feel yourself start to blush.
“every bit and more. i enjoy being with you and if i could be with you for the rest of my life then i would die a happy man.”

Fall 1985
But I only have these arms to hold you
It’s a dark Fall night. The house smelling of popcorn you had popped earlier to watch during a movie. Halloween decorations had been plastered all over Steve’s home, a home that hadn’t been decorated for any holiday in a very long time. You had changed that though, changed him. You made not only this home full, but his heart. Which is why Steve lies beside you in his bed absolutely hating himself for not being able to tell you how he feels. How much he loves you, how much you had saved him these last six months.
You had been there for it all. Cheering in the stands when he graduated, taking your lunch break to visit him everyday at Scoops Ahoy, not getting jelous of his newfound friendship with Robin, taking care of him when the monsters returned and the mall burned down, and even helping him and Robin get hired at the video store where you had worked this entire time. Everytime he thought you'd leave, somehow you were still there, and he appreciated you for every bit of it. So why the hell couldn't he say it?
He knew why. He knew because everytime he looked at the plastic Halloween decorations filling his home he was brought right back to Tina's Halloween party. Right back to that very bathroom where the only girl he ever loved looked into his eyes and told him he was bullshit. It had been a year but he still remembered how devastated he was, how his heart felt as she ripped it straight from his chest. The look in her eyes was seared into his memory, devoid of any emotion but distate blazing in them. He couldn't relive that, wouldn't relive that. Especially with you.
He may have loved Nancy but with you it was different. With you, he knew you were going to be the one. The one person handcrafted specifically for him. A soul designed to match his own in a large and lonely world. Somehow he had found you and now he wouldn't do anything to risk it, he would guarantee it. It had hurt when Nancy said she didn't love him but if you did. Well that would kill him.
"What kind of candy do the kids like?" you ask in the dark bedroom, voice overlapping that of Billy Joel's from the cassette player. You're My Home played softly throughout the room and you wished Steve knew that was how you felt about him. That until now you were pretty sure you had nowhere to belong and now you belonged to him.
"Why do you ask?” Steve hums, hands reaching to run through your hair. He lived for nights like this, where you just laid here with legs tangled together and talked about things practically meaningless.
"Well I want to make them happy, I know how much they love Halloween. Dustin hasn't shut up about it all week and I want something to cheer Mike up. I know how badly they wanted to dress up as The Goonies but with Will and El gone they can't" you tell Steve, hand lacing with his own under the covers. Steve smiles softly at you and how much you care for the very kids he had taken under his own wing.
"I don't know what kind of candy they like, I'm sure whatever is fine. As for Mike, tell him we can be Andy and Brand. Maybe I can convince Robin to be Data or something" Steve tells you, pressing a kiss to your forehead. The image of Robin in the Data costume meant for Will makes you giggle and Steve is pulling you closer, chest brushing against your own.
"You'd give up our Grease costume for that?" you ask, knowing how excited he was to be Danny Zuko and wear his leather jacket.
"Yeah but don't tell them that. They'll get big heads" Steve grumbles, practically hearing Dustin tease him about how much he loves all of them. You giggle against him and Steve warms over, feeling those very words sitting heavy on his chest. If only he had the words to tell you. He knew you were waiting, wondering why he hadn't said them. If you only had time to understand why he struggled with it so much. Everyone he ever loved left, if he said these words outloud he couldn't risk you leaving him too.
"You're the best Stevie" you tell him, leaning forward and pressing a soft kiss to his nose. Steve hums in delight, not allowing you to back away as he pulls you to his lips and kisses you quickly. He knows you love him, you only said things like that to replace those very words. If he would just say it your response would have been 'I love you Stevie'. Instead he gets broad statements that he has slowly come to despise.
"Yeah, yeah, best babysitter ever" he mumbles and you giggle because even though he pretends to hate it you know how much he loves it. How much he loves those kids. If he didn't he wouldn't spend time with them. One of those very kids was his ex girlfriend’s brother and he never let any of those things stop him. He was always there for them.
"Only the best can handle six kids at a time" you tell him and Steve searches your eyes, loving how when you look at them they’re filled with adoration instead of hate. He knows not saying anything won't change your feelings and you will carry on loving him without it. He just couldn't bring himself to say it, the urge never there even though he was practically dying inside to tell you. He wished you knew how hard it is to say.
Sometimes when he finds himself even close he feels silly. I love you seemed too simple to portray the love he had for you. It was so basic, a word your heard on the radio over and over again. Every song as simple as the last. How unoriginal were his words when the radio repeats them every single day? Even with his love for Billy Joel he figures he'll never find a song to sing you. One that perfectly depicted exactly how he felt about you. He doesn't want to sing those tired words again, words he wasted on people who never loved him back.
“You ever think about having kids?” Steve asks, leaning back into the pillow and staring at his ceiling. You admire the soft tufts of his hair on his chest, the way his bicep flexes as he reaches to tuck his hand under his head. He’s so handsome and it should scare you that your boyfriend of only six months has suddenly asked you about having kids and yet you don’t seem to mind.
“All the time” you tell him earnestly, snuggling into his side and grazing your fingers along his sternum, grinning when he shivers from your touch.
“I want to have a whole bunch, make me feel better about being an only child” Steve says, his hand pressed to your back slowly sliding up and into your hair.
“What do you mean, make you feel better?” you ask, lifting your head to glance at the boys face as he continues to be deep in thought.
“I was a lonely kid, my parents never really cared to pay any attention and without any siblings or cousins I was left to my own devices. I think it’s half the reason I was such an asshole in high school” he says, almost wincing at the thought of how many people he had treated like shit over the years just to guarantee he wouldn’t be all alone.
“You were protecting yourself” you say, understanding exactly what he means and Steve nods, eyes glancing down at your form.
“I want my kids to have built in friends and even better, present parents” he tells you and suddenly you find yourself wanting nothing more than to have kids with the boy beside you.
“You’ll be the best Dad Steve, I just know it” you tell him and there are those words again, sitting on his tongue and begging to escape but he just can’t seem to let them go. He hates himself for it, looking away before you see the regret in his eyes.
“I hope so, I just wish my Grandpa was still around to see it” he says, thinking of the only person in his life who ever really liked him for him when he was growing up. The man who had heaven sent you straight to him when he needed you the most.
“He is, don’t you worry about that Stevie” you tell him, eyes fluttering close as you listen to cassette playing in the room. The boombox clicked, indicating the start of a new song. Worse Comes to Worst slowly filling the room.
“Oh worse comes to worst. I’ll get along” you start singing the melody into the dark night air, the fall breeze fluttering in from the window and brushing against the curtains.
“I don’t know how, but sometimes - I can be strong” Steve starts singing along with you and suddenly your both giggling into the night, sharing a love for one another and a love for Billy Joel. The very man that had brought you two together.
“Do you ever get sick of listening to him?” Steve asks and you know he’s asking you about Billy Joel. You shake your head softly against his chest, gazing into those hazel eyes.
“No, he reminds me of you. Makes me feel close to you no matter where I am. Yet I suppose that’s exactly how he makes you feel about your Grandpa” you say, voice humming along the boys ribs.
“Yeah but now he reminds me of you too” Steve admits and you smile before leaning up and capturing his lips in your own. When you had approached the sad boy in the record store you never would have imagined it would bring you here.
"I'm gonna try and sleep" you tell the boy, snuggling closer and allowing your heavy eyelids to close. Steve smiles softly and presses another kiss to your forehead. He knows life goes on and tonight will soon be gone. Another missed opportunity to tell you exactly how he feels. His wished he had the words to tell you but instead he only has his arms to hold you, pulling you closer into him. It's really all you can ask of any man, to be held with such love even if he won't say it.
"Goodnight Rosy" he mutters, 'I love you' he says in his head. He knows disappointment swells in your chest, having been by his side for six months and waiting to know exactly how he felt about you. The only noise in the dark room now is the voice of Billy Joel and your soft breathing. He pulls you close, relishing in the feeling of having you in his arms. When he’s sure you’re asleep he tells you.
"I love you Rosy, I really do. Just please don't give up on me, I promise I want to say it. You deserve to know just how much I adore you but every person I've ever loved has left me. I know you won't but I need time for my head to catch up with my heart. Until then, if I only had the words to tell you..."

Steve's dad hates his job, his mother finds it endearing and calls it a hobby. Steve didn't talk to them for three months now.
Look, he didn't want to become a kindergarten teacher. Kids annoy the shit out of him, starting with the nerd squad that some day sat on the backseat of his BMW and never left.
But he's good at it. With the kids. He didn't think he could have been, because he doesn't know what it is parents exactly do, how to deal with children, but he learned.
It's the first job he wants - and that after seven years of boredom and the sinking feeling that he'll never be good at anything. Jesus, even the kids know he's good at it. The kids that aren't kids anymore, but friends. Max and Lucas whose daughter now comes to his kindergarten, too.
Jordan reminds him so much of them. A little rascal with too much energy and too much heart. Swears like a sailor, but being one of the kindest kids in the group.
It's the end of the day and Steve waits for her to get picked up. Finally, there's someone at the door and he turns around to greet Lucas who usually runs a little late.
He freezes. Jordan squeals with joy.
"Uncle Billy!" She climbs up his leg until she's lifted up.
"Am I dreaming or is that you, Harrington?" Billy Hargrove stands in front of him. Well and alive and with the same shit eating grin that was on his lips seven years ago. He's wearing an apron, hair escaping the loose bun, like he has just hurried here from work. From a bakery, it seems.
"You're awake, fipshit," Jordan explains with the seriousness of a kid that got it all figured out, because adults are stupid.
"It's dipshit," Billy corrects, sounding all proud. Well. That explains Jordan's language.
"Dipshit," Jordan repeats, nodding along.
"I didn't know you lived here," Steve says lamely. Chicago isn't Hawkins, but he thought Hargrove would have left the state after surviving the monster's attack.
"Moved here a week ago - to be close to my niece," Billy just says, booping Jordan's nose. He gives her a big smile, freckles dancing and cheeks dimpling.
It's odd to see him like that. Unguarded, grinning, happy. He's beautiful, Steve thinks before he can catch himself.
"Billy wants to see if Hawwi - Harrington is still hot," Jordan announces innocently.
Oh. Steve's heart flutters.
Billy's nose turns red. "Jordan Sinclair," he growls.
"Uncle Billy," she cheers.
She's Steve's favourite kid, he decides.
"I make some damn good pies," Billy says, face still crimson. "If you get tired of eating with three year olds."
He's trying to sound cool. It's hard when there's a three year old beginning to braid his mullet.
How can Steve say no to that?

do i shoot straight (or do i cheat fate?)
Tumblr media
synopsis: jealousy is a good look on eddie.
warnings: smut, unprotected sex (reader is on the pill), dirty talk, swearing
a/n: i need him.
---
"Who the fuck is that?" Eddie questions, thinly veiled fury laced within his words, and despite having your back turned, you can probably guess they're spoken through gritted teeth.
The fact that he had practically dragged you to the kitchen, as well as his hostile tone, makes you heave out a sigh, but admittedly, seeing another guy's arm around your girlfriend's waist is an understandable cause for concern. Swallowing your fears, you nervously adjust your hair and turn around to face Eddie, ready to tell him the news that had you avoiding him these past few weeks.
"My fake boyfriend. Label said I'll have to keep him around for a while, it would be beneficial to my public image or whatever, especially with the new single coming out." You start, the darkness of the quiet kitchen hiding Eddie's expression, the only source of noise being the loud, drunken hollering and cheering of The Six behind the closed door. "It's all fake. I'm sorry you had to find out like this. I just...I just didn't know how to tell you. You know I hate this just as much as you do."
You step forward, shyly reaching out and intertwining your fingers with his. For a moment, you think he won't forgive you, that he'd drop your hands and tell you that he just can't keep up with all your famous pop singer bullshit anymore. Instead, he proves you wrong, like he always does, and pulls you forward by your intertwined hands until your foreheads touch. He sighs, anger washed away by your explanation, but tension in his shoulders still very much present.
"Is this why you've been avoiding me? Jesus, you made me go crazy. For a second there, I thought it was over when I saw you with that blonde douchebag. Don't ever do that again." Eddie murmurs and you smile slightly, shaking your head.
"Noted. I'm sorry, again." You reply and he kisses your forehead, accepting your apology.
"I want us to go public." Eddie declares after a beat of peaceful silence, looking at you right in the eyes, speaking with the hard resolution of someone who's saying something that's been on their mind for a long time. "I don't want to hide anymore. I want to write songs about you, and I want you to write songs about me, and have everybody know we wrote them for each other. I don't want to love you in secret like this anymore."
Your eyes soften at his confession and you kiss him tenderly, putting every single ounce of your love into it, hoping he'd understand that you feel the same way. He leans into it, hands grabbing your waist and pulling your body against his.
"Y'know, the entire band probably knows we're an item already. I mean, we don't exactly try to hide it around them." You joke when you break apart for air, a trail of spit connecting you and Eddie's lips.
He chuckles, pupils dilated as he gazes at it, and starts to slowly corner you against Billy and Camilla's fridge.
"They do. But how about we make things clear for that boyfriend of yours too, yeah?" He whispers and you swallow when his thumb reaches out and slowly pulls your bottom lip down. You tune out the sounds coming from the other room the longer you look at him.
"Jump, baby." Eddie commands and you immediately do so, wrapping your legs around his hips and burying your hands in his hair, while he grips your ass, fully pressing you against the fridge.
He kisses you then, previous tenderness replaced with predatory hunger, as he bites and licks his way into your mouth. You let out a helpless moan, involuntarily dragging yourself across his hard-on, the feel of it on your core making you gasp.
"You're already hard?" You question in disbelief, slightly pulling away from him, eyebrows raised so high they almost reach your hairline.
He licks his lips while you speak, looking inconvenienced at your interruption.
"Been hard like a rock since I saw you in that dress, sweetheart, you just didn't see it. Too focused on your boyfriend, probably." He teases without any actual malice, but before you get the chance to scoff and tell him to fuck off, he's already kissing his way down your neck.
You can only sit there, lost in a haze of enjoyment, as he frantically drags your dress up your thighs, continuing to pepper kisses on your collarbones and cleavage. Once your dress is finally out of the way, he doesn't waste any time and cups your cunt in one large hand, making you shiver, while he drags his thumb across the wet spot of your panties.
"Is this all for me?" He asks, knowing the answer already but wanting to enjoy the satisfaction of hearing you say it.
"It's always for you." The words roll off your tongue, an unabashed truth, and he rewards you for it by pulling off your panties - but instead of dropping them on the floor, he decides to shove them in the pocket of his jeans.
His movements are quick, but you see all of it, and hit his back with your leg as a form of protest. Eddie squeezes your hips in return, stilling you immediately, but offering no explanation, only dragging his thumb across your slick entrance, eyes intently focused on it.
"Eddie, why the hell did you do tha- oh, shit." You start just as two of his fingers glide inside of you, and his thumb starts rubbing your clit in circles.
Your back arches at the feeling of his fingers pistoning in and out, as you completely disregard what you were going to say. Eddie answers anyway.
"Want my cum to be leaking out of you after this." He tells you like it's obvious, and the idea is so erotic it makes you whimper, your warm head falling back against the cold metal of the fridge.
You take a look at Eddie, not nearly as messy as you, a perfect picture of composure and self-control, and feel as if you have to rectify it. After all, you can't be the only one moaning and panting.
You grab the collars of his jacket and lean in to whisper in his ear, just as he delivers yet another precise thrust to your G-spot and another wave of pleasure hits you.
"As much as I'm enjoying this, if you don't put your cock in me right this second, I just might have to call my boyfriend." You tempt, tracing the shell of his ear with your tongue, and he catches the bait, anger coming back with a vengeance.
Suddenly, his fingers are being pulled out and the metallic clink of his belt echoes throughout every crevice in the room. Before you know it, you feel the head of his cock against your entrance and he enters you impatiently, your mouth opening in a silent scream before he catches it in a passionate kiss.
You think he's going to start out slow like usual, savouring the feel of you around him. But it seems that he has different plans for you tonight.
You groan out his name as he instead begins to pound into you mercilessly, and all you can do is hold on for dear life.
"Yeah, baby, take my fuckin' cock, just like that. Shit, I missed this tight little pussy. Missed you." He groans in your ear, alternating between kissing your neck, shoulder and jaw, the contrast between his tender touch, filthy words and brutal pace rolling your eyes back with sheer pleasure.
His thrusts move in tandem with your moans as your body slackens in his grip, letting yourself feel every single delicious inch of him inside you. Your shaking hand moves downward in an attempt to relieve your throbbing clit, but Eddie slaps it away, replacing it with his own.
"So fuckin' pretty when you're like this, sweetheart, dumb on cock. I'm the only one that gets to have you like this, yeah?" Eddie asks, voice hoarse, rubbing your clit just the way you like it.
"Yes, fuck yes, yes, yes, yes, Eddie!" You gasp out, partly as a response and partly as a plea for him to keep fucking you silly like this.
He gently slaps your clit, a satisfied smirk pulling at the corners of his lips, as he reaches forward to suck on your earlobe, and you barely have time to yelp when his pace quickens even more. The sound of skin slapping against skin is so painfully loud in the dark kitchen it makes you briefly wonder if his bandmates in the other room have already heard you, but as if reading your thoughts, Eddie speaks again.
"Let them hear what I'm doing to you, how much you love this cock. My pretty girl." He tells you, pulling out and lightly slapping your clit with the head of his cock, a gesture so uncharacteristically possessive of him, it makes you clench around nothing.
Nodding helplessly, you move your hips around in an attempt to communicate how much you want his cock back inside, and he complies, resuming his punishing pace the moment he re-enters you. You cry out, walls gripping him like a vice, nails dragging against his clothed back. He groans at the combined sensation and kisses you so hard your teeth clank against each other.
"Eds, I'm going to-" You're cut off as his cock delivers yet another precise thrust. But you don't need to finish your sentence, if the understanding glint in his eyes is any indication. He moves you around before you have any time to process what's happening and you're suddenly being laid on the countertop - face down, ass up - and he enters you just as his hand buries itself in your hair, yanking, but not enough to hurt, as you feel your whole body being manhandled upright, your back pressed against his chest.
Your blurry eyes catch sight of the kitchen entrance, and it clicks, just as you feel your climax take hold - anyone could walk in right now and see you getting fucked like a whore by Eddie Roundtree himself, bent over the countertop.
And that's exactly what Eddie wants.
"Cum for me, baby, c'mon. Let go for me." He urges behind you, panting due to his own impending orgasm, and you do just that. As your ears start ringing and your vision turns white, you can briefly recognize his voice coaxing you through it. You lean your head against his shoulder when you feel him follow shortly after, releasing inside of you.
The kitchen is comfortingly quiet as both of you calm down from your respective orgasms. Eddie presses kisses at the back of your head, a silent apology for his slightly rough treatment, and you turn your head, kissing his cheek in return.
You're about to tell him that you love him when the kitchen door opens and your fake boyfriend Anthony (or was it Aaron?) appears at the threshold, eyes widening in shock as he takes in the sight in front of him. You avert your eyes down in embarrassment, but Eddie moves his hand towards him in a shooing gesture, a toothy smile on his face that only emerges when he knows he's being a prick and loving it.
"Do you mind? Me and my girl were having a moment."
The guy nods shakily and leaves, the look on his face so bewildered it almost makes you feel bad.
"Eddie..." You sigh and he laughs, prideful, the sound of his uninhibited laughter making butterflies flutter in your stomach. "That was so unnecessary."
"I know. I don't really care, though."

PLEASE WRITE MORE OF THE SINGER!READER X BILLY THAT WAS TOO GOOD <33333333
i love singer!reader she’s so lucy gray (but with an actually sweet man)
Tumblr media
billy would talk himself up all week just to see you again at the saloon, knowing you’d be back on that stage friday night. for the last 6 days, his buddies have been teasing him for the way he’d stared at you with eyes as wide as saucers, looking like a lovestruck fool. they weren’t exactly wrong, though.
he sits at a table near the back where he had been last time, but this week he’s by himself. he couldn’t bear the idea of his friends, as much as he liked them, poking fun at him in front of you. he felt nervous, wondering if you’d even notice him tonight. he sat and bounced his leg anxiously, waiting for you to take the stage.
and when you finally do, by god, you steal the boy’s breath away.
billy watches in complete awe, your voice ringing out loud and clear through the whole place. he watches you swish your pretty dress around, a different one this week, and how your hair bounces and glitters under the oil lamp lights. everyone cheers you on, and his heart flutters at the giant grin it brings to your face. and then your eyes meet his, way at the back of the house.
it feels like he can’t breathe for those tiny little seconds it takes for you to recognize him, but when you smile brightly, he feels like the entire sun has embedded itself in the center of his chest. he grins back, cheeks flushed pink and eyes glittery. once you know he’s here and where he’s sitting, your eyes trail back to him constantly while you sing.
he watches for you what feels like both hours and only seconds, until you take a bow and skip off the small makeshift stage. and then you’re making your way through the crowd, stopping right in front of him.
“howdy, stranger,” you say, beaming. billy can’t hide the stupid smile that takes over his face.
“hi there.”
you giggle and he feels like he might float away, he feels like he’s in a dream that he never wants to wake up from.
“i could watch you sing for hours,” he blurts out, unable to stop himself. thank god it only makes you light up more, or else he’s certain he would die of embarrassment.
“i don’t think i’d mind pretty blue eyes like that on me, for however long you want,” you flirt, making his heart beat even faster. is he dreaming? he might be.
billy swallows hard as subtly as he can before asking, “maybe you’d like to sit and have a drink with me then?”
wordlessly, you plop down right beside him and peer into his glass. whiskey. he watches in wonder as you pluck it from the table and take a sip, humming. he watches you with a smile, completely enamored.
“i’ll have what you’re having, billy.”

You smile when you open the door, your boyfriend standing there with a grocery bag in his hand and a confused frown on his forehead.
“Babe-”, he starts and you ignore him, grabbing the bag and pressing a kiss to his cheek. You miss the small smile that interrupts his frowning because you start walking to the kitchen, excited to tell him what you had planned.
He follows after you, leaning against the kitchen counter and watching as you unpack the plastic bag with a giddy smile. You'd called him earlier in the day and told him to get some groceries, he had protested at first and told you to do it yourself but after some pleading and pouting he easily gave in, pretending to be annoyed as you listed the items.
Now with the ingredients for hot chocolate and some usual Christmas snacks, like gingerbread cookies, you stem your hands on your hips and turn to him, a grin on your face.
He raises an expectant eyebrow, “So? Why'd you send me grocery shopping?” He asks. “You should've guessed by now…” you tease and step to where he's standing to throw your arms around his neck. He pretends to be unfazed and keeps his hands on the counter top he was leaning against with his hip. “Alright, I'm gonna be nice and tell you since you obviously can't guess. We're gonna have a movie night. Christmas themed.”
There's silence between the both of you but you see the discreet disbelief on his face as he takes in exactly what your plans for today were. Not getting the enthusiasm you were going for (but knew you wouldn't get) you huff and turn back to get started on two cups of hot chocolate.
“Baby… you should know I'm like the last person to do this shit,” he mumbles in his usual tone and you hear him move before his arms wrap around your waist from behind, his chin resting on your shoulder as he presses kisses along your neck.
“Yeah and I also know you would do everything for me, so please?” You ask and look at him he sighs as if he's in deathly pain and huffs a “fine”.
Cheering a quiet “yes” to yourself you instruct him to stir the milk and other things together while you start presenting the different movie choices you had rented.
You doubt he could be any less interested but by now you also know well enough that he would do pretty much everything for you and to spend some time with you, no matter the activity. So he grumpily helps pick a movie (all the same Christmas cliché movies) while stirring the hot chocolate.
He makes a face at the sweetness the drink would turn out to be but doesn't comment on it, your excited face keeping him from it.
Twenty minutes later and you're both on the couch, your cup a third empty and dangerously balanced on your knee (Billy had his eyes on it the entire time to make sure you wouldn't spill anything) while the movie was playing.
You're sitting squished into his side, legs on the couch and blanket draped over both of your lower bodies. The movie is almost done and you look up at him. The light from the tv is mirroring in his eyes, highlighting them even more. His curls had gotten even fluffier and curlier from the light snowing outside that had gotten caught in them when he'd arrived and you were resisting to ignore the mug in your hand and just play with his hair.
“You're staring pretty hard, love,” he mumbles and turns to you before tearing his eyes off the movie and focusing them on you. You smile bashedly and then snuggle closer against his chest, “thank you for doing this with me. I know you don't really like these typa things.”
He shrugs, “Ah, well. Got a beautiful girl to make up for it, don't I?”

Kiss the goat part 2
Tumblr media
Sometime after your brief yet terrifying phone call, Casey Beckham and her boyfriend Steve are brutally slain in her suburban home, and you know exactly who's responsible.
It's hard to sleep that night, hard to do much of anything but lie listlessly in your bed, eyes wide, hand clutching the small, sharp knife you'd come into this world with, like a safety blanket.
 Your mind felt all too busy for rest,  you knew this was just the beginning, and despite how insane things were about to become, you were determined to make it to the end. No matter what.
The circus that the campus had turned into the following morning was intense, to say the least. Where there weren't reporter vans there were police cruisers. You couldn't take a step without having to dodge a camera or microphone being shoved in your face.
With every inch closer to what felt like a school-shaped coffin, an uncomfortable little chill shot up your ankle, as before you left this morning, you tucked the small switchblade into your right boot, after last night you weren't willing to take any chances, this was the first time a movie had gone off script on you and it made you this..nervous kind of excited, the kind you felt in your tummy all day and night, where you didn't know what was coming next, but you couldn't wait for it.
Although any positive emotions coming from this thought vanished as you were abruptly called to the principal's office, which would have been fine had it not prompted a very particular look from Stu. The very psycho you were trying to avoid. It was a bit surreal to think only a few hours before he was stringing his ex-girlfriend up like a set of Christmas lights.
Being pulled into the office first for questioning wasn't helping your goal of anonymity, the police made a point of asking more than once if you'd liked to hunt, and where exactly you'd been all night, thank god for Randy you thought, Happy with the alibi he'd inadvertently given you by hanging out yesterday.
You don't tell the police any more information than they ask, keeping your answers short and sweet as you wanted out of there fast, the principal was overtly friendly and it wasn't his fault as he's written as a red herring, but he still creeped you out.
Lunch rolled around and a part of you wanted to just ditch it all and run in the opposite direction, but you knew better. So you swallow your fear and count your steps as you head towards the fountain.
Making your way to the spot said alibi had begged you to meet him at, you caught wind of the conversation and knew then and there you were in the thick of it.
Randy waved you over to sit beside him excitedly, your sudden appearance barely affected the group's conversation.
"They ask if you like to hunt?" Stu's voice carried over the sounds of the water rushing from the fountain, his eyes flicker to you, a twitch in his smile as you sit beside Randy with a silent wave.
"Why would they ask if you liked to hunt?" Tatum asked twirling the lollipop in her hand, her eyes met yours before returning to the group, and she sent you a grin before toying with Stu's hair, said man sent you his own smile, unlike her's, his sent a chill down to your tummy.
"Because they were gutted," Randy said much too cheerfully, no wonder they suspect his ass.
"Thank you, Randy," Billy spoke from his relaxed position, his dark brown gaze flickering over to the mysterious newcomer Randy had attached himself to like a leech. You made a point not to meet his eye. Instead, you tried to act as naturally as possible.
But his gaze lingers.
"They didn't ask me if I liked to hunt." The pretty blonde spoke, almost offended by the notion.
"Cause there's no way a girl could have killed em'," Stu says matter of factly, his grin completely unsubtle.
"That is so sexist- The killer could easily be female. Basic Instinct." Tatum replies.
"That was an ice pick, not exactly the same thing." Randy chimes in, again much too cheerful given the context.
"Yeah, Casey and Steve were completely hollowed out. Fact is it takes a man to do something like that." Stu says, its fascinating to you no one catches on to that psychotic look in his eye.
"Or a man's mentality." His girlfriend replied mockingly.
"How do you- how could someone do that to another person?" Sidney questioned more to herself than anyone.
"You take a knife, and you slit em' from groin to sternum," Stu says almost gleefully, his blue eyes flicker to you for a moment, and it makes your stomach do a flip. Like he was waiting for a reaction.
"Hey, it's called tact you fuck rag," Billy says his eyes full of a silent warning to Stu: shut the hell up. It made you smile a bit to yourself, how on earth these two idiots managed to make it to the end of the original movie without being caught amazed you.
"Hey, Stu didn't you used to date, Casey?" Sydney asks almost accusingly.
"Yeah for like two seconds."
"Before she dumped him for Steve." Randy taunted him close to Stu's face. "I thought you dumped her for me?" Tatum says with a pout.
"I did he's full of shit." Stu sneers with a glare, his grin almost like a warning to Randy.
"Are the police aware you used to date the victim?" He taunts Stu and you can't help but chuckle to yourself.
"What you think I killed her?"
"It would certainly boost your boring life."
"He was with me." Tatum said wrapping his arm around her front almost protectively, "Yeah was that before he sliced and diced?" Randy teased popping a peanut into his mouth,
"Fuck you nutcase where were you last night?" Tatum glared at Randy prompting him to smirk, "With (Y/n), my alibi's solid Blondie." Randy said proudly. This caused a very interesting reaction as Stu tightened his grip on Tatum, and Billy began staring holes into Randy.
"I didn't kill anybody." Stu says dismissively as he looks between the faces of the group.
"Nobody said you did." Billy bit out, his words holding a certain level of warning. "Aw, thanks buddy."
"You're so suspicious." Randy rolls his eyes at Stu, and the blonde man sends him a sharp look.
"Yeah well, what about her?" Stu throws his head towards you, his grin strained.
"What about me." You respond meeting his stare head-on, your brow raised at his odd accusation, it almost made you laugh.
"Well, he has a point." Billy sits up, demanding your eyes meet his own, his stare is like a shark, unmoving, unwavering. "And what would that point be." You ask, unfazed by the heat they tried directing on you.
"New girl comes to town, bodies start dropping- kinda' interesting right?" He watched you from his seat at the fountain, the dark look he gave went unnoticed by the rest of the group, goading you for a reaction. He was testing you, for what you didn't know, but you held his burning gaze, your smirk taunting him.
"Well sure, if you have no imagination that makes total sense."
Something in the way you spoke held everyone's attention, especially the two violent men who were currently looking at you like a starved dog looked at a hunk of raw, bloodied meat.
"Isn't it much scarier to think about how you all probably know him? That you've been sitting next to him for years?" A small grin twitched at your lips, they shifted uncomfortably hanging off of every word, this glimmer in Billy's dark eyes had a fire burning in your belly, sure antagonizing a sadistic murderer was probably a bad idea, but you couldn't help yourself.
"Then again, what do I know." The bell gave your sentence an ominous ring as they all said with your words, Randy pulled you along, which left you unaware of the dangerous looks you were getting.

crazy ass boys gang finding the reader crying
crazy ass boys gang + finding you crying
billy loomis: Hates seeing you cry but doesn’t panic about it. First things first, he needs to know what’s wrong. He’s patient while you cry through the entire explanation, no matter how long it takes for you to get it out. Once he knows what’s wrong, he’ll hug you until you’ve calmed down. After that, he tries to solve the problem. Very pragmatic about it all.
josh washington: Is no stranger to crying. His sisters cry. His friends cry. He cries. He’s used to it. It still breaks his heart that you’re upset. Goes all out while trying to make you feel better. Will order all your favorite food, run you a bath, light some candles, pour you a glass of wine. Anything and everything you need. You can’t cry if you’re too busy being pampered.
stu macher: Struggles a little with empathy at times, so his gut reaction is not taking it very seriously. If you seem really upset, or you keep crying after he initially tries to cheer you up with jokes or baiting you into getting angry instead of sad, he gets a little anxious. Will do pretty much anything to make you stop crying at this point, because he's now personally uncomfortable. But it seems like he's just stressed about seeing you cry, so it cheers you up a little. It's great to have such a loving boyfriend, after-all.
jd/jason dean: If you’re not crying because someone did something to you, then speak up now or forever hold your peace. Otherwise, he will jump to conclusions and he will go kill someone. Once you assure him that nobody did anything to you (if he believes you), he will comfort you. He’s honestly pretty good at it too. Will hold you for as long as you need and never judge you for anything you say out of frustration or anger.
kevin khatchadourian: Isn’t very concerned, full-stop. Crying and sadness is an emotion that he’s completely unaccustomed to. He’s observed it, sure, but he doesn’t understand it. Still, he knows it benefits him to get you to stop crying. It also strengthens the bond between you when he does things like comfort you. Since it does have a tangible effect on your relationship, he’ll comfort you. If there’s a problem he can solve even better. If it was a person who made you cry... good luck to them.
nathan prescott: Absolutely panics. Was not born with the ability to comfort anyone. He can’t even self soothe and now he has to help someone else do it? Still, he does hate to see you cry. It’s best if he finds you crying somewhere private. He can’t be caring in front of an audience, no matter how much he may want to. His ego wouldn’t be able to take it. If you’re alone, he’ll do his best. He’ll put on the sounds of whale calls (is that to calm you down or him? who knows), and then just hold you. He’ll listen to whatever you have to say but won’t give any advice. He goes to you for advice, he doesn’t think he has any wisdom to offer you. But just him being there, quietly trying to support you when you can tell just how out of his comfort zone he is, means a lot to you.
sebastian valmont: Is actually very good at comforting you. How people work is his favorite subject. He’s an observer, and a talented one at that. He knows exactly what to do and exactly what will help. If you need a shoulder to cry on, he’s there. If you need someone to bitch to who agrees with everything you say, he’s wonderful. If you need advice, you’ll be shocked at how perfectly he can assess your problem. If you need pampering, he’s got the spa privately booked. By the end of the day, you’ll forget you were upset at all.
david mccall: Babies you. It would be condescending if you didn’t need it so badly. He’s determined to solve all your problems. He wants to be your hero. Something going wrong at work? He’ll step in. A friend stressing you out? He’ll “talk” to them. He pulls you into his lap and makes you pour your aching little heart out. “I’ll take care of it, baby,” and he’s not just sweet talking you. Watch exactly what you say to him, unless you don’t mind him solving certain problems permanently.
sparrow!ben hargreeves: Another one who is awful at comforting you. He didn’t get any comfort growing up and he certainly doesn’t get any now. The way he solves his problems is by taking it out on criminals and having a stiff drink afterwards. Will awkwardly go for holding you and order you not to cry because it will ruin his designer shirt. If that gets a laugh out of you, he’ll breathe a sigh of relief. It makes the situation feel less alien (and scary) to him. He settles on holding you for as long as you need and trying to keep his mouth shut. He can be bitchy when he’s worried and he doesn’t want to set you off into another crying spell.

Leave a Tender Moment Alone (John Brady x OFC)
Tumblr media
Summary: Private Kate Woodward and Lieutenant John Brady are reluctant to wear their hearts on their sleeves, but they're each starting to wonder if maybe they should.
Word count: 1k
Note: Meet Woody! Title comes from the Billy Joel song. For a little bit of context, this takes place before Damn Yankees, but you don't need to read that to understand what's going on in this fic. Do not interact if you’re under 18, terf or radfem, or post thinspo/ED content.
Warnings: Light period-typical misogyny. Inevitable historical and technical inaccuracies.
Tumblr media
Private Kate Woodward had a child clinging to her leg, another hanging onto her back, both attached to her like little monkeys.
The village kids were always in the mechanics’ orbit. Woody wanted to be a good role model for them, even if she didn’t quite know what that looked like. She wasn’t exactly keen to admit it to anyone except Holly, but offering her expertise as a mechanic to the WAC wasn’t entirely out of love for country.
After years of wandering aimlessly up and down the West Coast, she woke up one morning and realized she didn’t like her friends (if she could even call them that), working almost exclusively on stolen cars because she couldn’t hold down a legitimate mechanic job, and especially not the type of person she’d become. So she signed up, expecting to be working on jeeps or trucks, but instead found herself applying her knowledge to planes.
Her first commanding officer, Lieutenant Deanna Seberg from Glendale, designated her Woody to differentiate her from the dozen or so Catherines and Kathleens who used Kate as a nickname.
She liked being Woody. Woody was tough and competent yet approachable, likable, even. She tried to be good. Helpful but not too imposing. Kept her cursing to a minimum. Checked her temper. Had to. She was part of something bigger than herself, bigger than any of them could have ever conceived of. Finally found a way out through it. She couldn’t afford to fuck it up.
While the handful of other mechanic girls had gotten their experience through family garages or the odd trade school, they accepted her claim that hers came from messing around with friends’ cars. She was good at what she did. No need to push it.
Thankfully, Kenny had their backs, the young Arkansan drawling that where he came from, women weren’t afraid of getting their hands dirty to get the job done by the end of the day, whatever it may be. If that also involved entertaining English laborers’ kids, fascinated by Americans and their planes, she’d try her damnedest.
“Miss Woody!” Billy shouted, making a running start toward her.
“Wait!” she yelled. “I can’t—“
Just before impact, which would have surely sent her directly to the ground with three children in tow, Billy was scooped up in Lieutenant John Brady’s arms.
“You could take off with that speed, buddy,” he said, flying the boy around for a moment before setting him on his feet and ruffling his hair.
Woody smiled as the other two children climbed off of her. “You saved the day, Lieutenant.”
“Miss Woody, now you’ve got to give the hero a kiss!” Sarah, the young girl who’d been hanging off her back exclaimed with a flourish of her hands. “That’s what happens in the stories.”
Brady shook his head. “Miss Woody doesn’t have to—“
Woody gave him a quick peck on the cheek, their small audience of Billy, Sammy, and Sarah giggling and cheering in delight. “Why don’t you kids go make some trouble for Mr. Kenny?”
The children ran off, arms spread out wide as they imitated planes themselves. God, had she ever been that carefree as a kid?
Brady cleared his throat. “I came by to see how the fort’s doing.”
“And just in time. That would’ve been a hell of a tumble if it weren’t for you,” she said.
“You’re great with those kids.”
She smiled. “Thanks. I try to be the kind of adult I wish I had around when I was their age, you know?”
“That’s good of you.”
“C’mon, I’ll show you what we’ve done so far.”
He stuck close to her as they made their way around the damaged plane, Woody taking care to let him know exactly what had been fixed so far and where they were having a bit of trouble. Shuffled a little closer to her when she pointed at one of the engines.
He smelled nice, a reprieve from the mix of fuel, motor oil, and sweat. Not to mention the occasional whiff of cow manure drifting through the air on a strong breeze. For a moment, she envisioned her arms around him, burying her face in the crook of his neck while something soft and slow filled the room. Wondered how he’d hold her.
Shit. Stop daydreaming.
She glanced at him every so often. His expression didn’t change much. Brows furrowed, handsome face etched with concern as he scrutinized the state of his plane.
“Really, I’ve seen worse,” she said.
He scoffed. “That’s reassuring.”
“You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I don’t need you to tell me that.”
Certainly wasn’t the first plane he crash-landed, but as soon as the words left his mouth, he could practically hear his mother’s voice, ‘John Brady, I did not raise you to speak to young ladies that way.’ Except he’d hardly consider Woody a young lady. She was a mechanic with a mouth when she got a few beers in her. More rough-and-tumble than any of the girls he grew up with.
Everyone seemed to like her, though. Hell, he sure did. Hambone already made a stupid comment about how he should ‘ask Woody to kiss it better’ when his fort, so comically named Brady’s Crash Wagon, went up in smoke. Probably why it smarted to feel like she pitied him or something.
Smarted worse to see the way her lips pressed in a thin line. Kept her gaze anywhere but him.
“Kenny told me you stay out here late working on it. Thank you,” he said, a stubborn substitution for an apology. “I appreciate that.”
“You’re welcome.”
Silence.
Wasn’t sure what else he could say, and she was doing everything but telling him to buzz off.
“Well, I’ll let you get back to it, Woody.”
She nodded. “See you around, sir.”
He tried not to kick himself too much as he walked off, not entirely sure where he was going.
“Hey Lieutenant!” Woody shouted when there was a few yards of distance between them.
He stopped in his tracks, turning around to look at her. “What is it?”
“You got something—“ She gestured to her own cheek.
He wiped the spot on his cheek where she had kissed him and fought back a smile at the grease smudged on his fingertips.

you ain't my boyfriend and i ain't your girlfriend
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing billy hargrove x fem!reader
warnings billy being his usual asshole self, jason carver, reader is lowkey mean, mentions of sex.
summary you and billy aren't dating, but billy doesn't seem to get the memo
word count 973
a/n this is not proofread so sorry if it sucks 💀 I just heard ariana grandes song boyfriend and this idea popped into my head so I decided to write it quick.
Tumblr media
You walked around the edge of the pool, the cute two piece you'd recently bought showing off your figure perfectly. You acted oblivious to the stares everyone gave you, middle aged ladies enraged as their husbands and sons were far from subtle.
You made it to the table where your friends sat, mainly cheerleaders and other girls who had made it into the popular crowd. Though you weren't surprised a few basketball players sat close by, including the new team captain, Jason.
With Billy and Steve graduating, the floor was swept clean for other players to take the top spot. And Jason was the lucky guy who took that spot.
You'd been the captain of the cheer team since just after your freshman year, now a senior and soon to be graduate. And somehow, in Jason's head, this meant that the gas pedal on his longtime crush on you would be pressed. Because obviously the basketball captain needs to be date the cheer captain.
"Y/N!" He called, a overly perfect smile gracing his lips. Teeth that obviously had been artificially whitened and bright blue eyes that squinted due to the sun.
"Jason!" You mocked him, not that he picked up on the mockery.
He went in for a hug with clear ulterior motives, but you would humor him. Releasing him from the hug you sat and sipped on your slushy as you began conversing. Jason's eyes stayed locked on you, your mouth and straw to he exact.
Little did he know that former captain, Billy Hargrove, had also been looking. And he was your favorite hookup.
You and Billy had been hooking up for a little under a year, but you weren't a couple. It was just sex, that was the agreement. He wasn't exclusive, and neither were you.
Billy watched you under the protective equipment of his sunglasses that allowed his eyes to wonder. He was curious what flavor you'd gotten, how it would taste on his tounge, and how your cold, stained mouth would feel on his cock.
His eyes narrowed as he watched you and Jason greet each other excitedly, not able to see the sarcasm on your face as your back was to him, something he didn't mind.
He watched the predatory smile, one all to similar to his, that painted Jason's lips as he hugged you tightly, his hand sliding a little to low for Billy's liking.
Lucky for him, Heather was just about to take over. Hearing the door to the showers opening and seeing the brunette walking out in her red one piece, he began climbing down and walking over to you.
You had been speaking to Jason, or more so nodding your head as you listened to him boast about himself, and fighting to urge to roll your eyes as he flirted with you, his flirting was painful to sit through.
That's when you noticed Billy walking over, his tanned skin glistened in the sun as he took off his sunglasses. You couldn't help but stare as he sauntered over.
You smirked as he stood in front of you, "Hi there." You greeted him innocently.
"Hi, how's everyone doing?" He asked the table, though he obviously could not give a single fuck about their answers.
The table echoed with several flirty variations of good, such as 'better now that you're here.'
He nodded silently before looking down at you, "Think I could steal you for a minute?"
"Yes sir." You stood and followed him a bit a ways away from the table, staring as he leaned further down so you could hear his lowered his voice over the excitable screams of children.
"So what was that?"
You knew exactly what he was talking about, but you decided to play with your food a little and play dumb. "Sorry?"
He cocked his head in annoyance before continuing, "Don't sorry me, you know what I'm talking about baby... That douchebag over there you keep flirting with."
You looked back at Jason before turning back to Billy, "What, Jason? What about him?"
"Why's he all over you?" He questioned in a low tone.
You kept up the innocent doe eyes as you looked into his green-blue stare, "That's a question you should ask him don't you think?"
"Well I'm asking you, so tell me... what made him think he's allowed to talk to you?" He inquired, acting as if you'd done something to lead Jason on previously.
You narrowed your eyes defensively, "What I'm not allowed to talk to other boys?"
"Watch your tone..."
"Why should I? Don't tell me Mister Hargrove is jealous!" You squealed a bit, a ploy to embarrass him further with your accusation.
"I'm not jealous, don't get it twisted. You're mine, and I don't like sharing..."
"I'm yours? Since when?"
He smirked, looking at your eyes then your lips, "Since you stuffed my dick in your mouth."
"So, let me get this straight. I'm not allowed to talk to other guys, but you're allowed to flirt with every girl that looks at you?" You asked.
Billy chuckled as he looked away from you for a moment, showing how he didn't care about your argument.
"I want you to listen closely, okay? I am not your property, you do not own me, you do not get to dictate who I hang out with or talk to."
He sighed heavily, as his eyes traveled your form.
"You are not my boyfriend, and I'm not your girlfriend. We are not exclusive, that has been the agreement since day one. I've kept up my end, you keep up yours."
You turned to walk away from him after you finished your little speech, putting an extra swing in your hips to tease him further. He laughed to himself before sliding his sunglasses back on and walking away.

You take a deep breath, reaching out your hand for the door hesitating as his fingers slid across the wooden object. You had been waiting for this moment for months, but you couldn't count the nervousness that had been growing in your core ever since Teddy and you started preparing for your album's release day.
You had told the producer that your only requirement was to listen to the album before release with all the people important to this creative process. And the day had arrived, behind that door people were waiting for you to finally hear all the effort of years, it was impossible to control your nervousness and you were failing miserably in this attempt.
You could hear the murmuring behind the door, which made you rethink whether this had all been a great idea in the first place. You feel a hand grab your wrist, and you turn around, coming face to face with the long-haired man smiling small at you.
“You okay?” Billy questions, You feel relief when you see him there, as you always felt in his presence.
“Not sure, actually.” You confess, turning to him. “I forgot how intense this is.”
“When you see everyone there being proud of you, it goes away quickly.” He gets closer to you, and your heart races.
“I don't know if they'll be proud. No one's ever heard it finished except Teddy." You say, trying your best to feel his fingertips on your hands.
“I am, you can be sure of that.” He intertwines your fingers, reassuring you in a way that even if everything falls apart he will be there. “And besides, I'm very eager to see what you came up with.”
Four months had passed since the agreement made between you and the eldest Dunne, Since then the album 'Aurora' had been a huge success and the band had played several shows around the globe. Meanwhile, the two of you always kept in touch, through calls and of course meetings here and there, you weren't sure what exactly permeated your relationship, but with each meeting you fell more with him.
Billy Dunne was an enigma, you felt so understood next to him that it was impossible to describe, every lyric you put down on paper seemed to describe him and every chord he created was like the melodies in your head. You understood each other, and each time you removed the layer of protection that life had made you create to get to know each other, you saw yourself in each other, you connected with each other, you fell in love.
That part of you wanted to keep your feet on the ground, believe that you were just friends and that was it. But now, feeling him caress your hands in an attempt to reassure you, it was almost impossible not to explode with emotions.
“I hope you like it.” That's all you manage to say.
“I'm positive I will, now, come on, pretty girl.” He holds out his hand for you to take. “Let's celebrate your rock n roll record.”
He opens the door for you, and when everyone inside cheers for you he can't help but smile. Large hanging on the wall was your album, as the center of the entire attraction, Warren drummed on the table to increase the celebratory noise, Karen clapped her hands while another whistled for you.
Little by little, they came to greet you and congratulate you on your achievement. You welcomed everyone with gratitude and gradually got excited to see them all here. To your right was a makeshift stage, so you could perform some tracks of your choice, and the band that recorded with you was among the guests having fun at the event.
“Okay y'all, everyone gather here!” Teddy calls for everyone, and little by little they approach. "Now let's listen to one of the most creative albums I've ever been a part of, our dear Y/N created a masterpiece that takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions. And I'm sure we'll celebrate that when she's at the top of the rankings.”
“To Y/N!” Billy says, raising his glass in making a toast.
“To Y/N!” The others celebrate with him.
The album was placed on the record player, you were shaking with nervousness, anxiety and at the same time afraid of what others would think. Deciding to put your hands in your pockets to hide how uncomfortable you were with this favorable space of judgment, you remained with your gaze glued to the album rotating and rotating.
“This is unbelievable…” Billy whispers against your ear, resting his hand on your lower back. “I'm speechless, really.”
You just give him a simple, happy, satisfied smile. Closing your eyes, you listen to those melodies that you had imagined for several nights emanating from the record player, trying to concentrate on what mattered, your art.
At the end of the album, the silence turns into a chorus of applause, and you, without noticing, shed a few tears of emotion. That was it, your work had been done, and you had pleased everyone and most importantly yourself.
You go up on the improvised stage and take the microphone in your hands, drawing everyone's attention.
“I'd like to thank all of you, because if you're here right now you somehow inspired me to get here. I've spent years working on my first album, working on everything you guys saw today and I'm so so so happy with the result.” It was even funny how nervous you were, you stopped and took a deep breath. “I usually say that the lyrics of a song show facets of the soul of whoever creates it, and I showed many parts of myself today to you.”
Once again the crowd applauds, you can see Warren hit a plastic fork on his beer bottle getting a laugh from Daisy. Billy watched you without being able to contain the smile on his face.
“I wanted to invite Billy to sing this song with me." He is taken by surprise but takes the stage, watching you with a clear look of questioning. “He was with me when I wrote this one, and it's my favorite on the album so…”
“Told you!” Daisy whispers to Warren, who looks at her with a lost gaze clearly focused on a black woman leaning against a distant wall.
“Yeah yeah, listen I'll be right back” He says going towards the woman, leaving the redhead with a pair of rolled eyes.
Everyone in the place hears the beat of their drummer's drumsticks indicating that the music is about to start.
Singing with Billy Dunne was inexplicable, and for a moment you wished you were Daisy and experienced it every night. Your voices flew giving reason to the melody, he looked at you with smiling eyes, feeling his body being carried away by what you had created, and to be honest you loved it. He reaches out to hold your hand, intertwining your fingers so they're in the place you both always wanted to be.
You dance around the stage, feeling the adrenaline rush that comes to you as you sing, the older Dunne watching you with pride, happiness and desire emerging more and more as well. When you finish it doesn't take long to hear the audience instead of the instruments, you all thank them and enjoy the rest of the party.
It was late, you knew that because from the window of the room you were in you could see the quiet city, as if it was waiting for you in a certain way. And despite knowing it was time to leave, something still kept you there, as if you could hold today in your hands so it wouldn't slip away as the seconds passed.
“Is there something lost in the sky?” You jump in fright when Billy's voice is heard.
“Goodnesses! Why do you keep doing that?” You say, your hand on your chest feeling your heart gallop. It was common when he was around.
He shrugs. "I'm very proud of you, this was all amazing.”
You turn around, smiling genuinely. "I'm proud of myself too, it was all so intense that I just want to stop thinking."
“I understand." He lets out a muffled laugh, you remain silent before he breaks it again. "The deal is over…”
You feel your chest tighten, questions you had asked a few times like "Did everything we went through together only involve what was agreed upon?" danced in your head again.
“Yeah…” That's all you manage to say through the knot on your throat.
“Look Y/N.” He turns to you, his eyes are dark among the dark around you and you curse yourself when you think that this was the prettiest it ever looked. “I like you, I like how everything is easy and good by your side. I just feel understood, like you see me somehow”
You watch him say, your eyes telling him to continue.
“I like us, and I don't want it to end. I don't know how you see this between us or how you want to move forward from now on but I know I don't want to give up on the way life seems to be easy with you.”
You felt like you lost your breath for a few minutes, which seemed like hours, as you saw the breeze ruffle a few strands of the man's long hair in front of you. You smile, a smile that came from deep in your chest and the great honesty of your soul.
You simply kiss him, and feel him smile against your lips. Both of Dunne's arms wrap around your waist and pull you closer, trying to smell you and know every millimeter of your body. You feel the intensity of the kiss grow, and he pushes you lightly against the open window, making the breeze feel on your back.
You break the kiss to observe his face illuminated only by the light, his smile was big and his matched yours. You kiss his nose and then place a light kiss on his mouth.
“I like us too, and you'll not get rid of me easily.” He laughs at your words and kisses you once again.
“I don't even want to.”
Footsteps in the hallway are heard, if you were paying attention you would know that it was two people for sure. Daisy stops abruptly in the doorway, her green eyes wide as she comes face to face with the scene you were staring. She stops Rojas as he walks, holding him with one arm and drawing his attention to the couple kissing in the room.
“Damn.” Rojas says under his breath. “Fuck, I lost fifty bucks!”
Daisy smiles victoriously, pulling Warren to leave you and Billy Dunne alone in your world.

i found your blog and im absolutely OBSESSED with it. if you’d be willing, could you write something with billy and a plus sized fem reader? with a lot of praise? 🥹
HSKNFKSD THANK YOU BABES IM OBSESSED WITH YOU TOO!!!! <333 HELL YEAH HELL YEAH!!!!!
Billy loves plus sized hotties like yourself, like he literally adores you. He doesn't think he's ever seen anyone as alluring as you are. Setting aside your dazzling and deeply compassionate personality and how much of a comfort you've become to him, even setting aside his trust in you, growing every day that you're there for him, that you foster as tenderly as you would a baby bird, you are hands down the hottest person he’s ever fucking seen. When he takes you out to parties, he watches you cheer him on when he does his infamous keg stands. He also watches the glares you get from the girls lingering near by. Jealousy evident on their faces that you're the one Billy looks at like that, the one he kisses so deeply and hungrily, the one he can't keep his hands off of, and he really can't keep his hands off you.
You're both well aware of this, and he's not shy at all about expressing it. He tells you all the time exactly what he thinks about you. He'll be kissing you deeply, angling his jaw to get his tongue even deeper into your mouth while he feels you up, panting in anticipation as he caresses and gropes your soft curves.
"So fuckin' sexy..." he mutters against your lips, and you know he means it.
And oh my god when things escalate???? He absolutely makes you wear his necklace, loving the way it looks settled against your soft chest. That alone drives him fucking crazy, much less when you wrap your legs around him and pull his hair and whine against his mouth????? He could cum on the spot just from that alone. And he really can't shut up then either. If his tongue isn't actively in your mouth (or somewhere else) he's watching your pupils dilate at the never ending praise tumbling from his lips.
"Look so pretty like this, so gorgeous all fucked out for me..."
"You gonna be good for Billy? Gonna take what I give you, huh?"
"Just like that, dollface, so pretty when you listen..."
There's a certain thrill, a warmth that stirs in his chest and a fire in his stomach from grabbing your soft cheeks and making you look at him while he fucks you stupid, praising you for every moan, every noise, every yes daddy, no daddy, all yours, just for you Billy. Because you're his sweet precious baby doll, and he'll tell you over and over, just to make sure you really know.

Yandere Jasper Hale (1/10)

Word count ; 3.9k
*Dedicated to @plumes-de-nuit. This'll definitely be the longest series yet. I... didn't realize I loved him so much.
*Also : R & Jacob & other love interests are 18. Jasper… y’all already know he ain’t a teenager.
*Edited:3
I stared out of the car window, watching as the trees passed by. Bella was beside me, and we were currently riding in dad’s police car. He’d picked us up from the airport, as we were moving here for our last few years - or, for me, a year - of high school. While Bella pitched the idea, I jumped in on it. I was eager to see the world, even if it was just Forks, after all these years. I had grown bored of Phoenix. Not just the weather, but the boys. There were no cute boys that I hadn’t already gotten or attempted to get with.
I also really wanted - no, needed to catch a break from mom’s strict rules. She thought I was a troublemaker just because I went out a lot and occasionally got detention.
Oh, and I’d literally follow my dearest sister to the ends of the earth. But I’d never tell her that.
It was already raining. I knew that Bella hated the rain, but I loved the new scenery.
Charlie pulled into the front lawn of a pretty standard house. It was white and green and is a two-story. I knew that it probably had a basement, though. In Phoenix, we had a flat one-story home surrounded by cactuses. I hated the weather, but I’d developed a darker tan for my s/c.
I stepped out of the back and raised my hands up the air. “Woohoo! Glad to be home.”
Charlie sent me a smile, appreciating the enthusiasm. Other people would see this scene as awkward, but that’s just how the family was. Bella was like dad, demure and introverted. And I was like mom, outgoing and extroverted.
Charlie insisted that he'd get our bags for us. I enjoyed the help, since I had a pretty hefty suitcase. Not to mention, I had a large backpack already strapped to my chest. Dad led us inside, allowing us to kick our shoes off, before showing us our rooms.
He must’ve been going off what he knew of us when we were younger, because I knew without a doubt that Bella’s favorite color was green. However, her room was themed purple. Mine, though, was perfect. I loved pink as a kid, and I loved pink now. Was just about to get settled in when Bella hovered in the doorway.
“Hey, some people are out front. Charlie’s calling us.”
I blinked in confusion, but trailed behind her. I was already starting to get comfy, throwing my clothes all over the room. However, I knew dad was a straight-to-the-point kind of guy. As Bella commented on the plane, 'One of the best things about Charlie - he doesn’t hover.’ It was odd wording, but I knew exactly what she meant.
As we exited through the front door, I threw an arm around Bella’s shoulders. Sitting by the side of the road was a rustic red truck. I could already tell Bella was eyeing it enviously. Yet, my attention was more fixated on an older man in a wheelchair and a former childhood friend who I recognized instantly. Jacob.
We made eye contact, and I immediately sent him a smile. He smiled back. I noticed how he’d grown his hair out and he was a lot more mature than he was a few years ago.
Charlie waved us closer. “Bella, Y/n, you two remember Billy Black.”
“Yeah!” I exclaimed, dashing forward to shake his hand. Bella seconded my statement, although in a much chill-er way.
“Wow, you’re looking good,” Bella commented.
“Well, I’m still dancing,” Billy replied with a chuckle. “I’m glad you’re both finally here. Charlie, here, hasn’t shut up about it since you told him you were coming.”
“All right, keep exaggerating. I’ll roll you into the mud,” Charlie muttered playfully.
Charlie took a few steps away, but Billy began wheeling after him. “After I ram you in the ankles!”
“You want to go?” Charlie bickered, and as they eased around, it left Bella and I with a chance to greet Jake.
“Jake! It’s been forever,” I cheered, pumping my fist into the air. His grin widened even further, and I opened my arms to welcome into a hug. He took it, quickly hugging, while Bella watched in amusement.
“Glad to see you’re just as energetic as ever,” Jake laughed. “How do you do it?”
“Lots and lots of coffee. And, of course, Bella’s here, too. Bella, you remember Jake, right? Or were you too tiny?”
Bella slapped my arm playfully. “You’re only a year older than me, geez. Yeah, I remember you, Jake. It’s great to see you again.”
Jake nodded to her. “Yeah, uh, we used to make mud pies when we were little.”
“Gross,” I commented.
Bella shook her head. “You weren’t as cool as Jake and I were. Eating mud is, uh, definitely a healthy past time.”
I crossed my arms, pouting playfully.  “I just have etiquette. I am the eldest out of you two, after all.”
Jacob looked at me incredulously. “By a few months.”
Bella tilted her head over to Charlie and Billy’s antics. “Are they, uh, always like this?”
Jake bared his teeth while nodding. “It’s getting worse with old age.”
Billy and Charlie finally joined us again. Charlie patted the truck. “So, what do you think?”
“Of what?” Bella asked in confusion. I stood behind her and wrapped my arms around her shoulder, peering at Charlie with equal bafflement.
“Your homecoming present.”
Bella’s jaw dropped. “This?”
Charlie shrugged. “Just bought it off Billy here.”
“Yep!” Billy seconded.
Bella detached to me, and we both went to hug the car. “Oh, my god!” I exclaimed.
“I totally rebuilt the engine for you,” Jake spoke up.
Bella was gasping for breath, and she hopped into the truck. “Come on, seriously? This - this is so cool! Oh my gosh!”
“This so-o-o perfect —“
“Actually,” Charlie interrupted, "your mom gave me a head’s up that you’re a reckless driver. This is Bella’s homecoming gift. Your’s is still inside.”
My jaw dropped. “Wh a-a-at? You’re kidding me! I’m the best driver in the world!” I huffed leaning against the car.
Charlie shook his head, chuckling. “Your mom informed me of how you had to retake your driver’s test more than two times. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your present inside a lot more. Besides, I’m sure Bella can drive you where you need to go.”
Jacob weaved around the front, laughing at my repugnance, and hopped in beside Bella to show her the works. I was left pouting while Billy and Charlie talked. I was only a little insulted that I wasn’t trustworthy enough to sit behind the wheel, but fair enough. I’d be satisfied as long as my gift was just as cool.
“I told you they’d love it,” Billy joked.
To be fair, though, I knew that Bella really loved cars. She’s loved them ever since we were kids. While I wanted to be a princess, she wanted to be a race car driver. Of course, both of our ambitions had changed, and now she planned on being a mechanic.
“I’m down with the kids!” Billy added, motioning ‘coolly.’
“Oh yeah, dude. You’re the bomb.” I snickered quietly at dad’s sarcasm.
I leaned into the open window when the car started up. “…Do you want a ride to school or something?” Bella inquired. I also wanted to know the answer.
“Oh, I go to school on the reservation,” Jake answered.
I pouted while Bella sighed, "Right, right. That’s too bad. It would’ve been nice to know one person.”
“You’ll be fine, Bella. I bet you’ll be friends with half the school by the end of first period,” I spoke up.
Bella laughed. “I’m pretty sure that’s you you’re talking about.”
I tilted my head innocently. “Oh, is it? I must’ve forgot.”
~~~
Bella and I hopped out of our new car. Technically her’s, since dad bought me a cool gaming console, but we’re sisters so I’d undoubtedly steal it from time to time. Luckily, the school year was just starting, so we couldn’t have stood out too much. Well, except for the fact that our truck was bright red. And my clothes were equally flashy. I loved being the center of attention, although I knew Bella loathed it. Somehow I wondered how we came out of the same vagina.
Bella and I walked side by side into the school. The weather was dreary and dismal, just how I liked it. We pulled out our respective schedules. Bella had been responsible and circled her’s, while I was only vaguely aware of what classes I’d signed up for.
Suddenly, a black haired, Asian student who was well dressed saddled up beside Bella. I dropped the schedule to my side, waving eagerly. “Hello!”
Bella jumped, meeting the boy’s gaze. “You two are the Swan sisters. The new girls,” he greeted. “Hi, I’m Eric, the eyes and ears of this place. Which of you is Isabelle and Y/n?”
“Bella, actually,” Bella tittered. “This is Y/n.”
I waved again, and the guy grinned charismatically. “Nice to meet you, Eric.”
“Anything you guys need? Tour guide, lunch date, shoulder to cry on?”
I could tell Bella was petrified. She could barely release coherent words from her lips. However, she needed to learn how to be socially inept. “Uh, I’m really kind of the more suffer-in-silence type. Y/n’s the one you should be asking.”
His gaze flitted over to me, and I switched hands, wrapping an arm around Bella. “Don’t mind her. She’s shy. A lunch date sounds great. Right, Bella?”
Bella nodded anxiously. Eric continued, not noticing her discomfort. “Good new for your feature. I’m on the paper, and you’re news, babies, front page. The title can be something freaky, like ‘opposites attract in the womb.’”
Bella looked utterly mortified. She halted in her steps. “Uh, no we’re not. I’m not. You… Please don’t have any sort of…”
“Woah, woah, chillax.” Eric waved his arm dismissively. “No feature. Unless you, Y/n, want one.”
I shook my head. “Nah, I’ll pass. It would be rather difficult to write an article and not mention my other half.”
“Cool, cool. Anyways, I’ll be off. See you two at lunch!” Eric really was off. He disappeared into the flood of people immediately, leaving me to Bella.
She exhaled anxiously and I patted her back before looking at my schedule. “P.E. What a grand start to my week.”
“Oh, thank god,” she sighed. “Me too. At least we share one class.”
I chuckled, grabbing her arm. “Let’s get going, then. I can’t wait to meet new people. Eric’s cool, but we - more so, you - need some gal pals.”
Bella sighed, allowing me to drag her off to P.E. I knew I wasn’t the best at sports, but Bella - she was god awful. I knew she’d make a few friends from just being an athletic train wreck. As much as I loved her, she was way too perfect. Athletics was certainly her downfall.
We walked into the gym and changed quickly. The uniform was cute, a quaint tank top and shorts. Bella specifically brought sweat pants from home, as I knew she had some body insecurities. I, though, was more than glad to show some leg.
We walked out, still attached to each other’s side. I immediately waved to two girls who were playing volleyball. They waved back, motioning for us to join their team. Class hadn’t started, but the students were clearly basking in the new school year energy. The pair of girls had just been playing, but we separated into teams after a brief introduction. Needless to say, it was Bella and I against Sabrina and Jules.
“Bella, get it!” I called, too far away to get the ball. I was carrying the team, pretty much two against one, while Bella lingered behind me.
She punched the ball, sending it into the net. I sighed, going to pick it up, while Sabrina and Jules said they were going to use the bathroom. That was code for them waiting a different partner. We waved them off. I picked up the ball and started making my way to Bella. Suddenly, a volleyball came flying past me and collided with Bella’s face.
Out of instinct, I burst into laughter, dropping our ball.
“Whoa!” a boy with dirty blonde hair exclaimed, running over to us.
Bella recovered, having caught the ball after it hit her face. She sent me a glare and threw it back at me, but I caught it, sending her a coy grin.
We both turned to the boy. He was slightly taller than both of us, and from his garb, he was probably on the school’s basketball team. “I’m so sorry about that,” he apologized, rubbing the back of his neck. “Basketball’s more of my forte, not volleyball.”
Bella stuttered, waving dismissively. I interrupted, "To translate, she means it’s fine. I’m Y/n, she’s Bella.”
“Yeah, hey, I’m Mike Newton.” He held out his hand for me to shake, which I accepted. I sent him a wink, mesmerizing him further. Bella clicked her tongue, coming up behind her and placing her forehead on my shoulder.
“More like Mike Haw —“
I was interrupted by a girl with light brown hair, hung in a pony tail. She skipped over to us, standing beside Mike. “He’s got a great spike, huh? I’m Jessica, by the way. Hey, you two are from Arizona, right?”
“Jessica, hi! You’re so pretty,” I answered, sending her a smile. “Yeah, we are.”
“Aren’t people from Arizona supposed to be, like, really tan?” She quickly corrected herself. “No offense, though, Bella.”
“None taken. Uh, yeah. Maybe that’s why they kicked me out. Y/n, uh, definitely got out more than I did.”
Both Mike and Jessica laughed, and I couldn’t help but snicker. Mike pointed while stating, "You’re good.”
“That’s so funny,” Jessica chimed in.
Bella held up her hands, waving, as she backed away. “Uh, nice to meet you. Y/n’s planning to teach my volleyball, now so…”
“Right. See you around, Arizona,” Mike directed, more so at me.
“Right back at you, Washington and Jessica!” I winked and let Bella drag me off the a more deserted area of the gym.
“They seemed nice,” I commented optimistically.
“…Sure. But boy, are people scary.”
“Girl, get used to it. I’ll indoctrinate you into my way of life whether you want to or not.”
~~~
“It’s my pleasure, madam,” Mike suavely eclair, having taken my tray for me. Bella trailed behind me, quiet and demure as always. Bell plopped down next to Jessica, while I situated myself between Mike and Eric due to unfortunate seating arrangements. Eric was previously droning on about some project, and our appearances interrupted the conversation.
“Hey, Mikey, you met my homegirl, Y/n, eh?”
I quirked a brow, while Bella waved to the girls.
“Oh, your girl, eh?” Mike hummed.
A laugh bubbled in my throat, but in that moment, a boy appeared beside me and planted a kiss on my cheek. I gasped as he declared, 'my girl,’ before dashing away. A blush rose to my cheeks, and Bella looked more than happy to not be in my situation.
Mike’s chair was pulled from under him and I covered my mouth in surprise. “Sorry I had to mess up your game, Mike!” he shouted as he disappeared amongst the other students. Mike took off after him, leaving me mentally exhausted.
“Oh-h-h my god,” Jessica gasped. “It’s like first grade all over again. You’re the shiny new toy.”
I clicked my tongue. “It’s shocking Bella isn’t getting the attention. I mean, just look at her! Absolutely stunning. Plus, she’s got brains.”
Bella laughed, waving dismissively. Suddenly, an Asian girl with glasses and her hair done up in a pony tail leaned across the table with a camera. “Smile!”
I was caught off guard, but grinned anyways and gave a peace sign. Bella shrank away instantly, making me lose focus since it made me laugh. The girl shrunk away, muttering out an apology. However, her gorgeous smile didn’t fade.
“I needed a candid for the feature,” she explained, plopping in her seat.
“The feature’s dead, Angelia,” Eric sneered, rather hardly. I quirked a brow. Eric rose to his feet and grabbed my shoulders, leaning over. “I got your back baby.”
I was glad that it was just us girls left and Eric went off to do whatever the hell he wanted. “It’s fine…? I’m starting to think all the guys at this school are crazy,” I chuckled.
Angela scoffed. “I guess we’ll just run another editorial on teen drinking.”
Bella spoke up, clearly feeling bad for causing drama. “You know, you can always go for… eating disorders. Or speedo padding on the swim team.”
“I vote the latter,” I eagerly remarked. I slid down the bench and took my rightful place beside Bella, now that the boys had disappeared.
“Yeah. Actually, that’s a good one,” Angela agreed.
“Kirk, right? That’s exactly what I thought,” Jessica gossiped. “We’re talking Olympic size.”
“There’s no way. He’s so skinny. It doesn’t make sense.”
“I mean, how big are his hands? You know what they say about big hands,” I teased.
The girls laughed, but I noticed that Bella’s attention was strewn elsewhere. I followed her gaze, seeing that a cliche of incredibly pale and insanely good-looking people walked into the cafeteria. I noticed that Bella was most focused on the latter, the one that wasn’t paired up. There was a blonde and black haired couple holding hands, an awkward guy and a hippy and slash or tomboy bickering, and the last was silent, seemingly just as fixated on Bella.
“Who are they?” Bella spoke up, nodding to them.
“The Cullens,” Angela answered.
“They’re Doctor and Missus Cullen’s foster kids,” Jessica continued in a hushed tone. “They moved down here from Alaska, like, a few years ago. They kind of keep to themselves.”
“Yeah, ‘cause they’re all together. Like, together-together.”
“The blonde girl, that’s Rosalie, and the big dark-haired guy, Emmet, they’re, like, a thing. I’m not even sure that’s legal.”
“Jess! They’re not actually related.”
“Yeah, but they live together! It’s so weird. They’re legally family. And, okay. The little dark-haired girl is Alice. She and Jasper, the guy who looks like he’s in pain, aren’t actually together. Apparently, Jasper has some anxiety problem or something.” I glanced back at them, noticing that even with how stoic Jasper looked, he was quite attractive. “Um, Doctor Cullen’s like this foster dad slash matchmaker.”
“Maybe he’ll adopt me,” Angela sighed dreamily.
However, that information wasn’t enough to satiate Bella. Her eyes were glued to the final assumed family member. “Who’s he?” Bella asked.
“That’s Edward Cullen. He’s totally gorgeous, obviously, just like Jasper, but apparently, like Jasper, nobody in this school’s good enough for him.” Jessica snickered dryly. “Like I care, you know? So… yeah. Seriously, though, Bella, Y/n. Don’t waste your time.”
“Wasn’t planning on it,” Bella chided.
“Well, I might. That Jasper fella’s pretty cute for a, and I quote, 'guy who looks like he’s in pain.’” Angela snorted, and I followed Bella’s gaze. I peered over my shoulder, seeing that her and Edward were making intense eye contact.
I couldn’t help but stare, and Jasper glanced over at us. I sent a smile, holding up my hand and waving. I noticed his mouth twitch before Alice stole his attention away. I returned my attention to the table to see that Jessica and Angela were both looking at me.
“Don’t tell me you just waved at him,” Jessica gasped. “You’re seriously wasting your time. You know that, right? What, are the guys falling at your feet not good enough?”
Bella clicked her tongue, and Angela teasingly followed up, "You’re totally a player.”
“Wha-a-at? No. I’m just friendly,” I chimed. “Besides, I’m not interested in guys like that. I have no idea why I’m the ‘shiny new toy’ when Bella’s right here.”
“It’s because I don’t make a scene,” Bella noted.
“Well, Jessica, if you’re asking if I’m interested in Eric or Mike, definitely not. I’m not blind, girl. Mike’s for you, dearest girl, and Eric’s obviously into Angela.”
Angela gasped. “You really think so? But he’s never been that friendly or flirty with me.”
I shook my head. “Nonsense. He’s just trying to make you jealous.”
Jessica laughed. “And what about Tyler?”
“Who?”
“The guy who kissed you on the cheek earlier.”
I scrunched up my nose. “No-o-o way, José. I know a cute guy when I see one, and Tyler’s not it. Jasper, though… He’s definitely my type.”
“Well, good luck. They barely talk to anyone outside their clique,” Angela sighed. “Believe me, we’ve all tried to talk to them.”
“It’s because they’re all freaks.”
I frowned, but in that moment, an arm wrapped around my shoulder. I looked up, seeing that Eric and Mike decided to rejoin the group. Eric attempted to steal the seat beside me, but Mike shoved him aside, sliding beside me with ease. He threw his arm around my shoulder, shaking me excitedly.
“Not at all, actually. And give it up, guys,” Jessica groaned. “She already has her he’s on the prize. And before you chase Bella, she’s enamored by Edward Cullen.”
“We’ve returned. I’m sure you all were dying for us to bless you with our presence,” Mike announced.
“Dream on,” Eric sighed. “Ne-e-ever going to happen. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them talk to anyone but each other or the teachers.”
Mike removed his arm and Eric sighed. “Damn, really? Oh, you’re breaking my heart, baby.”
“I’m not like my sister,” Bella tittered. “I just… think he’s interesting.”
Bella unsurely glanced over her shoulder. I did so as well, noticing that Alice and Jasper were chatting while looking at our table. Japer’s gaze flitted over to mine, and he raised his hand, giving me a curt wave and smile. My heart jumped in joy and I grinned.
Mike wrapped his arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer. My expression immediately morphed into a displeased pout. I directed a glare him way, and he teasingly remarked, "Hey, I’m not going down without a fight.”
I shrugged off his shoulder. “Have fun with that, buddy.”

Perfect Cookies
Wanda Maximoff x Female Reader
You, Wanda, and the twins bake holiday cookies together
Note: Soft Wanda, yay! Enjoy!
Wanda Maximoff Masterlist, Main Masterlist
“Good morning, Wanda,” you whisper to your wife. “It’s time to get up.” The early morning light filters through the room. It allows you to see the soft way she pouts at the wake up call.
“I don’t want to,” the brunette woman mumbles into her pillow.
You scoot closer to her and wrap an arm around her waist. She buries her face in your neck.
“They’ll be up any minute, baby. And I’m pretty sure we promised them we’d make holiday cookies today.” Wanda still doesn’t move, but she does smile at that.
You kiss her head as you hear little feet coming towards your bedroom. Two knocks sound on the door, followed by two sweet voices.
“Mom? Mama?” They ask in unison.
“Come on in, boys,” Wanda says. She reluctantly leaves your arms and prepares for the rowdy boys to jump on the bed. You sit up next to her.
The door clicks open and as you suspected they would the boys come running in and jump onto the bed.
“Good morning boys,” Wanda says with a smile. She suddenly seems completely awake.
“Hi Mom!” Billy plops down between and Wanda, leaning into her side.
“Is it time to make cookies yet?” Tommy asks as he snuggles into your side.
“It’s early, buddy. Let’s wake up for a bit first,” you tell him.
“But please?” He looks up at you with a pout that looks so much like Wanda’s, it’s hard for you to say no. Luckily you don’t have to.
“Tommy, we’ll make cookies in two hours. Okay?” Wanda steps in. She’s not always immune to the pout, but she is this time. He mumbles his agreement and the boys run off to the living room.
“I almost said yes when he said please,” you admit. Wanda laughs. She knew you did.
“I know, baby. Let’s go get ready for the day,” she says. She starts getting out of bed, but you reach for her hand.
“Wait-“ You bring her in for a kiss. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” she replies.
The two of you get ready and get the kitchen set up for the baking. The boys wait patiently as Wanda tells them the steps to make the cookies.
“Okay so Billy you’ll work with me and Tommy you’re with Mama,” Wanda instructs.
“Ours are going to be better!” Tommy shouts. Wanda gives him a stern look.
“It’s not a competition, Tommy.”
“To you maybe, but we’re going to win!” You pipe in, high fiving him.
Wanda kisses your cheek and whispers in your ear, “You’re a bad influence, sweetheart.”
You answer with a huge grin. The four of you mix the ingredients and put the dough on the cookie sheets. The boys steal bites and you and Wanda pretend not to notice.
“Can we listen to music?” Billy asks as you put the cookies in the oven.
“Absolutely!” You answer.
Marching over to the record player, you turn on an old school Christmas album. Soft music filters through the room. You take each others hands and sway to the music.
Soon, the oven dings and Wanda takes the cookies out of the oven.
“How do they look babe?” You ask her from the other side of the kitchen.
“Well, they are certainly cookies,” Wanda says with a giggle.
You hustle over to her and start laughing at the sight of the cookies. They’re all cooked together and the shapes are unidentifiable.
“Oh no!” Billy says when he sees the cookies. He pouts exactly like Wanda does.
“They’re ruined!” Tommy adds.
“It’s okay, boys. They’re still going to taste so good! And you know what, I think Mom might know how to make some icing so we can draw shapes on them,” you try to ease their worries, wrapping an arm around each of their shoulders.
“Can you do that Mom?” Billy asks, looking up at her expectantly.
“Of course. Just give me five minutes,” Wanda says.
The boys cheer and run off to play for a few minutes, leaving you and Wanda in the kitchen alone.
“You know this reminds me of one year when Pietro and my papa burned our Christmas cookies,” Wanda tells the story with a soft voice. You wrap your arms around her waist from behind. She leans her head into your shoulder. “Me and Mama were so mad at them for not waiting for us to help.” Wanda smiles at the memory.
“Typical boys,” you joke. “Thanks for saving the day, super mom.”
“I try my best,” Wanda replies.
She finishes up the icing and the four of you get to work decorating the cookies. They turn out really cute and tasty, so you all feel proud of your work.
After snuggling in for Christmas movies and the cookie eating, you and Wanda tuck the boys in before heading to bed yourselves.
“Today was perfect,” Wanda says as she cuddles into you.
“It was indeed.”
With a couple of ‘I love you’s’ exchanged, you and Wanda drift off to sleep in each others arms. It’s absolutely perfect.

.:Survive the Tide:. (Eddie Munson x Reader) Ch 1
After discovering a portal to another dimension, infiltrating an underground secret Russian facility, and fighting literal monsters to save the world not once but twice, you'd think the bulk of your problems would be behind you. Enter: Eddie Munson. You thought you were done with long haired, leather jacket wearing men after dating Billy Hargrove, but Eddie seemed different. He was sweet, he was creative, he was honestly kind of a dork, and now he's convicted of murder. Needless to say, harboring a fugitive isn't exactly how you pictured your spring break going.

___________________________________________________
Ch 1 .:Resurface:.
“The suspect we're currently in pursuit of is Eddie Munson. All Hawkins residents are advised to. . .”
No.
No, no, no.
The world seemed to close in around you; you felt your stare at the TV screen shift in and out of focus, the sound of your blood roaring in your ears drowning out anything else the deputy had to say. You refused to believe that Eddie could do something like this. Eddie, who drove you home when your 'friends' ditched you at a party. Eddie, who lent you his cassette collection and beamed like the sun when he found out you liked the same music. Eddie, who insisted on slowly leading a spider out of his trailer instead of crushing it despite being absolutely terrified. He couldn't have killed Chrissy.
But the officer was there on the screen, holding up a cropped yearbook photo of him in his Hellfire Club t-shirt.
And they said the body was nearly unidentifiable.
After Starcourt you tried your damnedest to return to normalcy, and for a time you thought you had. There were some days that almost felt like your life before you knew what really lied beneath Hawkins' skin. Then there were days like this, where it felt like the weight of the world was returned to your shoulders, a crushing sense of doom pressing down on your chest. You thought this year would be peaceful. Relatively, at least. But so much had changed in so little time. . .
~Six months ago~
The school cafeteria at Hawkins High was less like the shitty buffet it was meant to be, and more like a gladiator arena. Students flocked together in protective groups, quickly sweeping the grounds and claiming their territory, but never daring to get close to the center table. No, that was reserved for the court— the cheerleaders and the basketball team. You affiliated yourself with neither, so how was it that you came to be sitting there? Simple: Chrissy Cunningham.
The two of you had known each other since kindergarten, practically growing up at each others houses. Although you drifted apart as you got older, especially as she started dating Jason and you became friends with Steve's group, you could tell that she'd been having a hard time lately. With what, you wouldn't push to know, but you could tell she was grateful to have someone by her side that she could trust, and you were happy to be that someone after you saw how the rest of the cheer team treated her.
And so, for the last week or so you'd taken up residence at the center table to make sure she wasn't getting shit from anyone. You'd expected to get at least some kind of backlash from the cheer team, but they hardly paid you any attention. That was one of the perks of being a social drifter— you weren't part of the popular group, but you weren't targeted by them either.
The basketball players, however, were a different beast.
You groaned as you spotted Jason Carver making his way down the hallway with the majority of the varsity team. People parted like the red sea for him while he smiled and waved to the other students like he was the goddamn mayor.
His eyes lit up as he spotted Chrissy, striding over and practically pushing you out of your seat as he wedged himself between you to kiss her.
“How are you, baby?”
“I'm-”
“Great! Party at my place this Saturday,” he cut her off, that smile still plastered on his face as he handed her a neon orange flier, “It's to celebrate our win earlier this week, wear something pretty for me.”
“Oh, right,” Chrissy said, managing a nervous smile.
You, on the other hand, felt like slapping him. Chrissy didn't like parties because of how anxious they made her, something she's told him multiple times. If Jason noticed her uncomfortably fidgeting with the cuffs of her jacket, he showed no sign of being concerned about it. He just gave her another unnecessarily intimate kiss for a school lunch room before walking off to grab his food. You glared at the back of his head until he reached the end of the line, turning to Chrissy.
“Remind me why you're dating that asshole again?” you said quietly. Jason never necessarily did anything bad to you; he was always just sort of in the background when you hung out with Chrissy, but you couldn't stand the way he treated people.
“Y/n,” Chrissy sighed, “I know how he can get sometimes, but Jason’s your friend too.”
“No, you’re my friend and he’s your boyfriend, so I’m legally obligated to tolerate him,” you supplied, “not the same thing. Sitting at this table doesn't make me his friend. I'm here for you, Chris.”
“I know,” she said sheepishly, “thank you. . . I'm sure you'd rather be somewhere else.”
“What, and let you suffer here alone?” you grinned, “not a chance.”
Right on queue Jason came back with his food tray, shouldering passing students out of the way as he did. Just as he was about to sit down, what looked like a blur of black few past him, knocking him off balance and sending a few items on his tray toppling over. As the blur slowed to a stop and turned around, you were met with a student that was both familiar and unfamiliar.
His hair was the first thing you noticed, dark brown tresses teased to the gods and falling in loose waves around his face. A chain hung off his belt, clanking against the studs whenever he moved. He wore a ripped denim jacket with a multitude of pins and patches of bands you recognized, and a shit-eating grin on his face.
You felt like you knew him from somewhere.
“Sorry, man,” he said to Jason, his expression telling you that while he really hadn't meant to do it, he certainly wasn't sorry about it.
“Watch where you're fuckin' going, freak,” Jason snarled. He slammed his tray down, making Chrissy jump as he got in his face. The other man didn't back down, his grin only spreading as Jason turned red from the neck up.
“You stay the fuck away from here, you got it, Munson?” Jason glared.
Munson. That's where you knew him. You recognized him from the Hellfire Club yearbook picture Dustin carried around in his folder. This must be Eddie, the guy the kids basically idolized. Even though Jason was threatening him, Eddie looked thoroughly unbothered. The look in his eyes almost dared Jason to hit him; you could tell they've done this same song and dance before.
“Last I checked, everyone's allowed to eat food in the place the school makes us eat food in,” Eddie said, gesturing around to the room with his arms as he turned to leave. Jason lunged forward, grabbing him by the collar of his jacket.
“That's it-”
“Carver, would you take the one-sided dick measuring contest somewhere else, please?”
The whole table seemed to freeze at your words, their focus moving to you.
“What?” Jason said, his jaw taught and his grip still tight on Eddie's jacket.
“Give it a fucking rest,” you reiterated, “you're starting shit just to start it, and I'm trying to eat in peace for once.”
“He needs to learn some fucking respect-”
“It's a pudding cup, Carver. Pretty sure you'll make it through this.”
Eddie couldn't help but chuckle. Even a couple boys from the basketball team snickered at your words, though they were shut up quickly by Jason's stare snapping to them. Jason let out a harsh breath as he loosened his grip on Eddie, his cross-hairs slowly shifting to you.
Now it was the whole cafeteria whose eyes were on you two. You stared back at Jason, unyielding. Although you were the one sitting down, there was no question that you were playing on even ground. Unlike Jason, you had friends in nearly every clique at Hawkins High, so while most of the cheerleaders and basketball players were firmly on Jason's side, you knew there were plenty of others waiting for him to be put in his place.
“Maybe you should mind your damn business, (L/n),” he said, fighting to keep his voice even.
“I will when you stop treating everyone around you like shit,” you fired back, ice in your tone, “that includes your girlfriend.”
A chorus of rising murmurs spread through the space— some shocked, others anticipatory.
This sure was an arena, and the audience couldn't wait to see who slaughtered who.
Suddenly the shrill sound of the bell rang out through the cafeteria, and you almost laughed at the timing. The other students began to disperse, scattering off to their other classes. Eventually Jason was pulled away by another one of the basketball guys, and you packed up your things for your next class. Eddie saw the glimmer of victory in your eyes as you did.
He'd noticed you right away, standing out like a sore thumb in your David Bowie t-shirt and denim jacket among the sea of green and gold varsity uniforms. You confused him, but not in a bad way. You'd always stayed out of the way whenever Jason went on one of his stunts, what made you say something this time? It couldn't have been because of him, Eddie was 100% sure you didn't know he existed before today.
His pulse leaped into his throat as you turned around to meet his gaze, that gleam in your eyes not having left. You gave him a small smile before slinging your bag over your shoulder and disappearing into the wave of exiting students.
All right, so maybe you knew he existed now.
__________________________________________________
You sighed as you strode quickly down the hallway before school started next day. Although your eyes were trained on the open book in front of you, you could practically feel the eyes boring into you from all angles; and although your headphones drowned out the noise, you could tell they were whispering about you. Your stunt in the cafeteria had people talking, and honestly you found it stupid that they were making it such a big deal in the first place. Jason's never had anyone talk back to him, and for what? The fear of a little social backlash? To be fair, Freshman year you would have done anything to avoid getting on the popular crowd's bad side, but after surviving the horrors of the Upside Down, you knew at the very least you could handle Jason Carver's entitled-white-boy wrath. Near death experiences had a way of giving you a little perspective.
With a good twenty minutes before your first class started, you decided to take the time for yourself away from the prying eyes and shit-talking mouths for a little while. You stopped underneath one of the trees by the edge of the schoolyard, leaning against the trunk and relishing the shade for a moment. You slipped your backpack off and set it on the ground, about to sit down when you suddenly felt a tap on your shoulder. You jolted, looking to your side only to find no one there. You whipped your head around, but there was no one behind you either. That's when you saw a hand clad in silver rings come from above you and tap you on the shoulder again.
You let out a small yelp and staggered back, the movement making your headphones slide down to your shoulders. Heat rose to your cheeks as your music played outloud, and you quickly paused your walkman. A chuckle reached your ears, and you looked up to see Eddie lounging comfortably between two branches in the tree above you, his legs swinging freely beneath him.
“You trying to kill me, Munson?” you huffed, your heart pounding.
“Sorry about that, princess,” he said, that impish smile ever present on his face, “didn't mean to scare my savior, especially now that I know she listens to Ozzy. That's Secret Loser off his new album, right? Definitely didn't take you for the type.”
“Well what did you take me for?” you said, your arms crossing defensively despite the grin that tugged at your lips.
Eddie tilted his head, pretending to think about it.
“Hmm. . . somewhere at the intersection of preppy and weird art kid, so Kate Bush I guess?”
“Well I like her music too,” you said, “Shockingly, human beings can be multifaceted.”
“Well don't blame me for being surprised when most of the people here have about as much depth as a blow up pool,” Eddie jabbed.
“You include yourself in that?” you quirked a brow.
“Duh, look how I'm dressed.”
He was joking, but he wasn't totally wrong. He was wearing his Hellfire club t-shirt, the sleeves rolled halfway up his forearms and exposing the tattoos you didn't realize he had. His hands were covered in thick silver rings, matching the chains hanging from his belt and his wrists. His black jeans were torn at the knees, and hanging off the branch next to where he sat was his denim vest and leather jacket with a picture of Dio's latest album cover printed across the back. Maybe it was the way he carried himself, or the fact that he genuinely didn't seem to care what other people thought of him, but you'd never realized how attractive he actually was.
“Could have just taken a picture for you,” Eddie said, snapping you out of your train of thought. You flushed as you realized how long you must have been blatantly staring at him. “Didn't know you were gonna size me up.”
“Just doing what you asked me to,” you said, sounding a lot more confident than you felt; a tactic that worked, if the blooming color in his cheeks was anything to go by.
“Every person has layers,” you finished your point, trying to get your heart rate under control.
“Not Jason Carver.”
“I said every person.”
Eddie laughed at that, the sound so warm and resonant you could almost feel it in your own chest. So much for your heart rate.
“Speaking of, never got to thank you for yesterday,” he said.
“Well, it was more about my not liking Carver than my concern and care for you, but I'll let you believe that,” you said playfully.
“Cold,” Eddie chuckled, swinging his legs over the branch and dropping to the ground, “Still, it takes guts standing up to the new king of Hawkins High,”
“With Jason it's more of a dictatorship, but thanks.”
“Well said,” he grinned, “starting an uprising against the dickish forces of the basketball team. Never would’ve seen it coming from (Y/n) (L/n), right hand of Steve Harrington.”
“First of all, never call me Steve's right hand again,” you scoffed.
Eddie was unable to hold back the string of surprised laughter that escaped his lips, not expecting the innuendo from you.
“And second, I only started hanging out with him after he stopped being an ass,” you finished.
“Right, got it,” Eddie said, tapping the side of his head, “. . . was I absent that day?”
You shot him a sharp look and he smiled, raising his hands in mock surrender.
“He's sweet,” you defended your friend.
“In all my time at this school I've never heard the words 'Steve Harrington' and 'sweet' in the same sentence,” he said, “and I've been here for-”
“Ten years, I know.”
“Ha, ha,” Eddie deadpanned.
You laughed, your smile seemingly lighting you up from the inside, and Eddie found himself smiling along with you. He surprised himself with how natural your back and forth felt to him. You were usually hanging around Steve and Nancy or Billy, and more recently Robin— people whose social circles didn't really overlap with his own unless they were really trashed at a party. Of course he knew who you were, it was impossible not to know everyone in a small school like this, but this was the first time you'd ever had a real conversation; one that Eddie was enjoying more than he'd like to admit.
“Y'know, that's not the first time you've stood up for me,” he said after a short while.
“It's not?” you asked, raising a brow.
Eddie drew in a long breath, crossing his arms and shaking his head in mock disappointment.
“Ouch,” he smirked, “Think back, (L/n). Dive into that memory palace. Back to about 6th grade, middle school talent show. You sang a Journey song, and I. . .”
“Played guitar, holy shit!” you laughed, the moment now vividly pictured in your head.
Eddie beamed, his index finger ringing an imaginary bell above his head and his smile impossibly infectious.
“Ding ding ding! Well, you seem to remember my performance on a generally positive note, so I'll overlook you forgetting.”
“Can you blame me? You were bald back then.”
“Buzzed, thank you very much.”
“Bald in comparison,” you snorted, reaching up to push a few of the unruly strands out of his face. He swatted your hand away playfully, trying to ignore the way his stomach flipped at the feeling of your fingers running through his hair.
“But you do remember?” he covered quickly, “Jimmy Hathaway made fun of me after the show-”
“And I tripped him into the wet pavement outside,” you finished, heat rising to your face again as you recalled your temper as a child, even shorter than it was now.
“Exactly. You know, I bet the imprint from his fall is still on that sidewalk to this day,” Eddie mused, “a great tribute to your heroic deed.”
“Jimmy's parents sure didn't see it that way,” you said with that sly glimmer back in your eyes that made Eddie unable to look away, “something about me being in correspondence with the devil.”
“There any truth to that?”
“I don't know, haven't seen him in a while.”
Eddie laughed breathlessly, staring at you with something akin to amazement in his eyes and wondering why he hadn't ambushed you from a tree sooner.
“Too far?” you coughed out awkwardly.
“You kidding?” Eddie blinked as he came back to reality, “You're talking to the school freak here. To the general student body, no one's more 'in correspondence with the devil' than me.”
“What, because you're the grand warlock of your club or something?”
“Dungeon Master, actually,” Eddie corrected with a flourish.
“Kinky.”
You grinned as Eddie's face flushed immediately.
“That's not what it-”
“I know,” you chuckled, “I just wanted to mess with you.”
Eddie huffed indignantly, but did little to fight the upward quirk of his lips.
“So you actually know about D&D?”
“I practically babysat the boys when we were younger,” you told him, “I was there when they were still designing their characters and figuring out what campaign even was. Besides, who do you think picks them up from Hellfire? I'm not gonna trust any of those twerps with a car.”
“You're something else, (L/n),” he said.
“So you thought I'd be boring?” you joked.
“Nah, just thought you'd be meaner,” Eddie admitted with a smile, “especially after watching you rip Carver a new one.”
“Mean in a pretentious kind of way?”
“Mean in a pretty, popular girl kind of way.”
“I'm not that popular,” you said, avoiding the fact that he basically just called you pretty like the plague for your own sake, “I've only been sitting with those jerks because I'm friends with Chrissy.”
“Yeah, but people actually like you,” he said, meandering around the trunk of the tree, “That's gotta score you more points than sitting at some stupid table. You're at the top of the leaderboard compared to me.”
“You don't seem to care about it that much,” you said.
“Neither do you,” he pointed out.
“Fair enough.”
You turned to look him in the eyes and Eddie could have sworn his heart stopped for a second. It's not like he's never noticed how beautiful you were— it was blatantly obvious to anyone that saw you— but he considered you so far out of his league that he never even entertained the thought for more than a second. Honestly, he was shocked that you even gave him the time of day. You, who were friends with people like Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler, and Chrissy Cunningham. Not people like the freak of Hawkins High who blasted Metallica from his beat-up van and ran a D&D club.
Your eyes were what kept him held fast. They almost seemed to glow; full of life and intelligence and mischief. He wondered how in the hell you were able to be so bright after last year. He'd heard you'd been inside Starcourt Mall when the explosions went off, and he knew although you and Billy Hargrove had a falling out the semester before he died, you cared for him in some way. But somehow that light inside you still seemed intact, always ready with a quick comeback or a witty  joke, and he had no idea how you did it.
Eddie realized that the whole time his brain had been scrambling, you'd still just been looking at him. When he came back down to earth you seemed to notice, a small chuckle rising in your chest. Your gaze held his so gently, and there was something about the contact that made him feel oddly at ease. As he racked his brain for what it was, he realized that you didn't look at him like everyone else did: like you were trying to figure him out. You were just taking him as he was.
You shifted your weight slightly, your teeth catching your bottom lip out of nervous habit, a movement Eddie used every ounce of his willpower not to look down at. Then, just as you opened your mouth to say something, the morning bell rang, the sound considerably less welcome than it was yesterday in the cafeteria.
You wanted to slam your head into the trunk of the tree. Of course.
“Well this was-”
“I should probably-”
You both laughed softly as your words overlapped.
“I'll, uh. . . see you around,” Eddie said, grabbing his jacket from the tree.
You smiled, slinging your bag over your shoulder and picking up your abandoned book.
“Is that a promise?” you teased.
“Swear it on my grandmother's grave,” Eddie said, raising his left hand with his right over his heart, “She's still alive, but you get the point. Planning ahead.”
You laughed for what felt like the hundredth time that morning, a sound Eddie was determined to be the cause of again.
“I'll hold you to that, Dungeon Master.”
