~Dedicating a Song to Jamil at SDC/VDC~

Okay, well, admittedly, you may have been more relieved than you should have been that you were not accepted into Vil's little group to represent the school. You always thought that your voice wasn't that great, but Grim wanted to tryout with you, and Crowley was offering to improve your living conditions at the Ramshackle dorm, so reluctantly you had agreed. You felt quite fortunate that Grim's off-tune (and frankly horrid) singing drowned out your own at the audition. However, Grim did not share those same sentiments.

"Hmph, they're missing out by not picking me, my singing is clearly superior to those two," Grim pouts as you carry him in your arms back home. He said that it'd make him feel better after basically being forced into a manager role in their group.

"Shouldn't you be proud for Ace and Deuce for making the cut? Besides, we're still helping out by letting them stay at our dorm. You'll get to watch them work themselves to the bone while you'll be getting tuna for doing basically nothing on the sidelines, isn't that a win for you?" You reason in an attempt to cheer him up a little.

"Hmm, I guess you're right! I'll be living in the lap of luxury while those two idiots do all the work!" he chuckles evilly with a mischievous smile. You supposed cheering him up wasn't such a difficult thing to do when you knew what to say.

"But don't you want to participate too?" he asks out of the blue.

"What? Me, participate? Nonono, that sort of thing isn't for me- I'm not that great, honestly. I think I'd just rather just settle with being their manager than going up there with them," you chuckle nervously.

"But you know," he chuckles, a gleam in his eyes that tells you that he's up to no good again, "I think I remember hearing a certain someone's voice singing in the middle of the night sometimes. 'Was so pretty I couldn't go back to sleep."

"I-I, well, are you sure that it wasn't just the ghosts pulling a prank on you?" your face starting to erupt in that tell-tale sign of embarrassment that revealed to Grim that he was exactly on the right track. With a haughty laugh and an evil smile, he replies,

"Nope. Asked them already, and they even said they saw you singing in the courtyard." Busted. You groan loudly and try to look away from Grim's teasing looks, but alas, as you were currently carrying him in your arms, facing yourself away from him would require you to rotate your head around like an owl- that or you'd just have to stop looking where you were walking and risk tripping over something.

"Please don't tell me how many times you heard me..." you say as your ears become redder than Riddle's hair.

"Fufufu, I don't understand why you're so embarrassed about it! You've clearly got some talent in singing- not as much as me of course, but it's still impressive for a human! So why didn't you sing like that at the audition? We could've been part of the team and had all the spotlight together!"

"Well, that's the problem," you half-heartedly laugh, scratching your cheek nervously, "I'm not a big fan of the spotlight. I've actually always wanted to be a singer, but I always got stage fright so I never went through with it."

"OHOHOHO, is my dearest Prefect of Ramshackle in need of my everlasting kindness?" you hear a sudden voice proclaim from above you and you shriek in surprise as Headmaster Crowley, quite literally, drops right in front of you out of nowhere.

"Hey! Stop showing up out of the blue like that! Ya nearly gave me a heart attack!" Grim exclaims (who may or may not have accidentally scratched your arms in his own shock). Crowley ignores Grim's complaints as he stares into your eyes with a wide, knowing smile.

"I couldn't help but overhear that you enjoy singing, and!" he emphasizes, "I just so happened to be nearby the area when you were doing your audition. I believe that should be sufficient to grant you a spot for a solo at the SDC."

"Huh?"

"You need not thank me for my generosity! I know that I am just ever so kind to my wonderful students- it is simply a part of my job as the Headmage of this amazing academy! Oh, but, there is the tiny fact that you will not be representing our school in your performance, but I'm sure that you will be more than happy with the arrangements nonetheless!" Crowley proclaims excitedly. Your mind was still reeling in confusion, as is most encounters with this man, so Grim asks in your place,

"Right, so what's the catch?"

To which Crowley gasps dramatically as if he's been hurt by Grim's question, "To think of such a thing! Why, I'm merely extending my gratitude towards one of my favorite students who I only wish to see succeed!"

"Yeah, yeah, sure you do," Grim states with a pensive look on his face.

"Buuuut, if said favorite student of mine did want to sing at the SDC competition- the solo competition is considered separate from the group acts, and thus the first place winner of the solo's will also receive a fair compensation of around 25 thousand Thaumarks! Isn't that just enticing?" At the sound of that, Grim immediately hops on board; he looks to you with excited eyes, almost begging you to accept the offer.

"Uhm, why are you asking me for this specifically, headmage?" you ask quietly.

"Why, it's as I've stated earlier, I merely wish to see you succeed! Aren't I so generous?"

"Well, I mean, you probably heard what I was saying earlier. I'm not good with crowds, so I-"

"Hush, hush with that nonsense!" Crowley interrupts you by bringing up a finger to your mouth to stop you from speaking, "I know I already promised you better living arrangements for lending the Ramshackle dorm to Vil's group, however, if you decide to agree to this solo act, then I will also arrange for free personal catering for you at Ramshackle....But only for lunch!" And he steps back from you with his hands on his hips, standing proud at his joke of an offer.

"Isn't that just like lunch at the school cafeteria? And besides, I'm not even at the dorm at lunchtime during the school week."

"Sounds like a great deal, sign me up!" Grim exclaims, despite your words.

"Wonderful, wonderful! I'm so glad that you've agreed! I look forward to your spectacular performance!" And without another word, Crowley flies away to who knows where, almost as if to avoid having to answer to whatever you had to say next.

"Grim, you're grounded from eating any tuna until after the SDC is over."

"What?!"

By now it was far, far too late to be changing your mind about this- if you've even had a choice in it to begin with. You wish right now that you could have just turned Crowley down when you had the chance, but now you were stuck with this. Stuck with having to come up with something for this show. Stuck here sitting in the middle of the night with only two weeks before the event, with nothing but a blank page to showcase for your 'routine.'

Half of it's because of your work as the new 'manager' for Vil's group, half of it's because you're also trying to keep up with your normal school work too, but the biggest reason why you've hardly touched it is because you just...don't know what to do.

Most of the time, the songs you'd sing out in the courtyard would be songs your parents wrote and sang to you as a child, so they became your way of connecting back to home. Sure, you've written one or two songs of your own because you really did want to become a singer, but you always felt that those songs could never compare to the ones other people would write. And now, having to watch over Vil's group like this, you can't help yourself from comparing yourself to them.

But you technically made a promise, and you were going to go through with it. So, you decided that you would not go to sleep until you've written at least one (1) verse. Unfortunately, this has resulted in you staring at a blank piece of paper for the past 5 hours, with nothing coming up in your head to write about for your song and the time was nearing almost 5 a.m. Vil was definitely going to reprimand you tomorrow for getting no sleep, but it is technically also your fault for deciding not to tell any of them about your entry.

There's no hard feelings against them, of course, it's just that, you thought that if you did decide to tell them that you were also participating in the event, maybe it wouldn't work out too well for you. Sometimes, they can be a little bit...overbearing, to put it kindly, so you didn't want them to influence the song you're writing with their strong personalities. Vil would probably make you go through his own special skincare routine, both Rook and Kalim would give you so many compliments that you wouldn't be able to find any constructive criticism, and Ace and Deuce would probably give you too much criticism, under the guise of teasing you. And Epel? You honestly don't know how he'd react. He might just be in agreement with you as you both mutually didn't want to do this, but in the end you don't see him being very helpful seeing as how well he's been doing recently.

Jamil was probably the only one you could bring yourself to trust with this. He'd give you his solid, honest opinion without being too harsh or too jokey about it. He knows a lot about a lot of different things, so he could offer some advice on your song- what to change, what might sound better, and the like. Which would be helpful, if you had anything written down to begin with.

And in your tired, sleep-deprived state, you thought it'd be a great idea to go to him and ask for advice at this hour. So you leave your room quietly, knocking upon his door to get his attention. It didn't really take very long to wake him up in this way, and he answers the door in his pajamas with his face looking like he was fully awake and ready for anything.

"What's wrong? Did something happen?" he asks gravely as he sees the look on your face (to be fair, you almost looked like a dead person with your tired eyes and your hunched over posture).

"Not an emergency. Need advice," you mumble.

"Advice for what? Can it wait until the morning? What are you even doing up this early?" he sighs.

You take a second to respond to his questions in your sleepy, delirious state, but when your mind finally processes it, you just give him a tiny shrug and a measly, 'I dunno.'

So with yet another sigh coming from him, he gently escorts you back to your room, assuming that you're just one of those types of people who lucidly sleepwalk sometimes. But when he tries to set you back in your bed, you stubbornly stand in place, crying out, "No! I'm not going to sleep until I write something down."

"You're trying to write something?"

You nod, "Mhm, but I don't know what. My parents would write about each other. They would write about the things they love. I wanna be like them, but..." your words drift away as your mind tries to succumb to sleep.

"So you want advice on what to write?" he asks with yet another sigh, and you manage to nod your head again, stubborn as you are to not sleep until you've gotten something done. "Then my advice for you is to go to sleep. Forcing yourself like this isn't going to get you anywhere. Having a clear mind is essential to writing. And when you've got plenty of rest, go outside and try out some new things. Sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery to get your inspiration going. I'll tell the others not to bother you today, so just rest for as long as you need to," he says quietly. If you were actually lucid enough to pay attention to his body language, you'd have noticed the soft looks he was giving you, or the way that he was being as gentle as possible with you as he led you back to your bed successfully.

In any case, you accepted his advice, falling dead asleep as soon as your head hit the pillow, and Jamil is left shaking his head at your (adorable) antics as he walks back to his own room.

When you woke up, it was nearly 2 in the afternoon, and as promised, no one had bothered you at all. In fact, the whole dorm was quiet, with not a single soul to be seen. Which was completely reasonable, seeing as how technically school was still in session right now and the others would have practice for a few more hours in the ballroom of the Pomefiore building after that. In other words, you had the whole place exclusively for yourself for the rest of the day.

And yet, you found something quite peculiar sitting on your bedside table. It was a tea set, with a piping hot cup of tea sitting in the middle and a small note leaning against it. Holding up the note closer to your face, you can see that it reads,

'I've used magic to make sure that the tea stays warm no matter how many hours pass, but it starts to wear off when you touch it. The tea is an herbal remedy, supposed to help you clear your mind and stay focused. I wish you luck with your writing. Signed, Jamil'

Jamil made this? For you? Your face grows red in embarrassment as you recall asking for vague advice last night (or this morning, technically). You take a sip of the tea anyway, and you could feel inspiration coming to you as your thoughts continued to wander to Jamil.

'His smile. His kindness. His determination and his thoughtfulness. There's a million different things I could write about him and yet never reach the end of all the amazing things about him.'

And for the rest of the day, it was as if your pen had a mind of its own as it flew across the paper to retell your experience of you finding something that has always been there, yet you're only just realizing it now.

And so finally, the day of the event had arrived. It was organized so that the groups would perform first, then the solo performers would come after, and then the results of the competition would follow that, which admittedly made you nervous because it meant that the person you've dedicated this song to will be watching you perform said song. You dreaded the idea of being so vulnerable in front of this many people, however, if it meant that you could release all of these pent-up emotions within you, then perhaps it might do you some good to let it all out...

You dressed as nicely as you could, given the limited amount of clothing you had available to you since you've come to this world, but you thought you did a pretty good job at making yourself look presentable out there.

But now, it was finally go-time. All of that preparation, the secret trips to the woods at night to practice your singing and your dancing, the little glances over to Jamil as he's practicing his own routine- all of it is going to be put to the test here and now. The only barrier between you and first place now is your conviction to sing about your love for a certain Scarabian dorm member.

Your name gets called on the speakers, and you sheepishly walk up on stage with your microphone. Your eyes instinctively begin to search the crowd for your friends, but you stop yourself before you could find them because seeing their faces might make you even more nervous than you already are. You stand in the middle of the stage for a moment as the crowd quietens and the instrumentals of your song begins.

'Jamil, I dedicate this song to you- you who gave me the inspiration to compose, you who has given me the courage to follow my dreams. To you, who I've loved for all this time without realizing it. Please, accept my feelings as I sing just for you,' you think, taking a deep breath, and you start to sing.

'Ahead in the empty distance, Fading away unanswered, I turn off the lights to see all the colors in the shadow, Travels across an instant, Far beyond tomorrow, I'm watching a faint breath send a ripple through the water'

Your voice rings out softly, with a gentleness most wouldn't expect for a song appearing at SDC as it echoes through the stadium. And you smile as you get lost in your thoughts again about Jamil. He has always been the type of person to stay in the shadows, always trying his best to avoid any unnecessary attention being drawn to him, but alas, it was exactly because of this that his presence made such faint ripples in your heart to begin with. As the music kicks up a notch, you begin to start your carefully choreographed dance that accompanied this song.

'When I lose myself, I become you, Ichi kara juu leads me back to, Here inside your veil, Finer than a grand view, We'll take a dive, Not even tides can come between us,'

And you recall clear as day how when you were basically delirious from sleep deprivation, your mind's first thoughts were to go to him. Because you knew that you could trust Jamil with anything (despite his many warnings that you shouldn't trust him as much as you do). Your dance suddenly changes its slow momentum as the song progresses to be a bit faster.

'Was it you who I've been searching for, Spent my life alone and waited for, So tenderly and endlessly, You made me whole, you made me whole'

Coming to Twisted Wonderland has been in equal parts exciting and fun, yet so terribly lonely for you. You were lonely even in your own world, never having many friends who would support your interests, but Jamil always made you feel like you could be yourself around him. He was always just,,, safe.

'And the walls I built they melt away, With every touch in your embrace, Every day, every night, every note I play, You made me whole, you made me whole.'

You've become truly entranced into your thoughts, the lyrics and the dance movements coming to you naturally as your mind focuses on other things. From the crowd (that you've long since forgotten about), the people listening in were stunned to silence, enchanted by your voice and your song. Even your group of friends were staring at you with wide eyes as you continued to sing. Especially Jamil.

'How could I have been so blinded, Running away in circles, I hear my doubts drop, When I see you in the mirror,

Right beneath the surface, Washed away my sorrows, I feel your heartbeat, As it echoes through the hour'

Jamil can only stare at you with his eyes as wide as saucers, just like everyone else. Has he ever heard you sing before? No, he doesn't think he has, but he knows that you auditioned with Grim, Ace, and Deuce in front of Rook and Vil, so with a voice as beautiful as yours, why weren't you picked to represent the school? There must have been some sort of mistake in the auditioning process. You clearly had more talent than Ace and Deuce combined...

'When I lose myself, I become you, You are the moment I belong to, Here without our names,'

'Yes, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet... Jamil is so much more than just a servant to the Al-Asims. Oh, to be rid of the Viper name so that he no longer needs to suffer like he has.'

And as you repeat the chorus, Jamil can't help but to feel like certain parts of this song are quite familiar to him. Like the lyrics are grabbing hold of his heart and caressing it with the tenderness of a lover.

'Was it you who I heard through the door, When I cried and had no place to go? Every day, every night, every note I play, You made me whole, you made me whole.

Tracing and tracing the sunset, Appearing a zero and finally, Now I remember, Oh I have never lived a day without you

No no no, this couldn't possibly be what he's thinking. This song is clearly a romantic ballad for someone that you must've fallen in love with at some point in time (either here or in your world). This 'familiarity' is just something his mind is making up. And just as he begins to dismiss his initial thoughts, you happen to finally make eye contact with him. You repeat the chorus again with a look in your eyes that convey everything that you're singing and more as you lose yourself to the music.

'I'll never believe I'm alone, In the end, we begin, 'till we meet again, You made me whole, you made me whole

I know I'm never alone.'

And with that, the song comes to an end, and the instrumentals fade out until the auditorium just sits still in complete silence. About a solid minute passes of silence, and you stare up at the crowd with an awkward look on your face. Thinking that this was something that the crowd has disliked, you were just about to apologize for your performance, but then the entire place erupts in an excited cheer.

"WHAT AN AN AWE-INSPIRING PERFORMANCE FROM A STUDENT AT NRC! WHY I DO BELIEVE THAT THIS MUST'VE BEEN ONE OF THE BEST WE'VE SEEN SO FAR!" you hear the announcer exclaim loudly on the speakers. You stare in shock at the loud crowd, looking at all of the happy faces (some were legitimately crying, namely Rook) cheering for you. In your embarrassment, your face reddens and you try to hide it behind your hands as you let out a meek 'thank you' to the microphone. You bow quickly and move to go backstage, but then you hear someone starting to chant 'Encore!' with many others following suit.

You leave it to the announcers to try to calm the crowd- there was absolutely no way you were going to sing another song up there again. You walk through the halls of the backstage area to get back to... Well, you didn't know where you wanted to go right now. Your face was so red right now and you were so embarrassed that you didn't know if you'd be able to handle the reactions of your friends congratulating you. Even worse, you don't know how you'd handle having Jamil congratulating you, with his stupidly cute smile and his devilishly charming eyes. You'd probably faint.

But speak of the devil and he shall appear, you see Jamil and the rest of your friends in Vil's group walking up to you with various different reactions on their faces. Predictably, Ace was teasing you for hiding away your good singing voice, Deuce and Epel both congratulated you like a normal person would, and Rook and Kalim were both brought to tears at your performance- to the point where Vil and Jamil basically had to rip them away from you (with the condition that you'd give Rook your autograph). Vil stared at you with his normal stern look at first before smiling and patting your head, saying something along the lines of you becoming yet another rival of his.

Jamil, though, he waited until everyone else was done with you before approaching you. Your heart had calmed down tremendously by then, but when you saw him walking up to you, you could feel your heart pounding inside your chest nervously. He gives you his most charming smile with a proud look on his face, and he says gently,

"You were amazing up there. I had no idea you could sing like that."

"Hehe, thanks," you chuckle nervously, looking anywhere but his handsome face, "I-uh... Remember that time I went to your room asking for advice on what to write?" he nods. "Yeah, well, that was for this, so uhm... Thank you, for, you know- giving me inspiration to write that song..."

"I gave you inspiration?" he hums, "I only told you to rest. I don't recall doing anything particularly inspiring." You let out a tiny squeak as you try to explain,

"Well! You know how it goes, one day you've got nothing and then another, you've got everything! You don't need to do anything specific to be inspired, it can just come out of nowhere!" you chuckle awkwardly, and in your nervousness you continued to talk, "And besides, you're plenty inspiration for me without even having to do anything! I wrote it for you, after all!" After the words left your mouth, you gasp and cover your mouth with your hands as your face burns bright red in embarrassment.

Jamil stares at you in shock for a moment after hearing your words. You wrote that...for him? Really? Him?

Well, he did have his suspicions of that at first, with the lyrics sounding as familiar as they did, but he brushed it off earlier, thinking that there would be no way that you would've written something so...so... romantic, for him. Did you really feel that way about him? Did you really reciprocate his feelings for you-- the ones that he's decided long ago to bury beneath the ground because there was absolutely no way you were going to like him that way?

Only one way to find out, he supposes.

Jamil slowly brings his hand to lift your face to look at him. The look in your eyes betrayed many of your emotions- embarrassment, anxiety...and hidden in it's depths, he thought he could see hints of adoration within them. In the past, he has considered using his unique spell to make you fall in love with him, however he has always decided against it, for one reason or another. So he knows that the emotions behind your eyes are real- that the lyrics for your song, which was made for him, was real.

So he takes a small leap of faith, choosing to kiss the side of your cheek, "Thank you, Prefect. It was a very lovely song."

"No," you say breathlessly (you were also in shock because you thought he was going to kiss your lips), "Thank you for being my muse."

hi! thanks for the ask ^^. weirdly, I think anya's probably the spy x family main I've thought about the least? there's plenty to her so idk why I've not thought through her entire deal more, maybe just because the child experimentation angle will be grim and we're lacking so many pieces of her backstory rn. but even with that, there's plenty there. so anyway, good choice is what I'm saying. this gives me an excuse to not get distracted by loid and yo--

anyway anyway, answers below cut because this got long:

My first impression

This is gonna sound bad considering I only got into the series when the anime started coming out which is fairly recent all considered, but I genuinely don't remember? I'd probably seen memes involving her before I actually started the anime or manga, but for the life of me, I couldn't remember what they involved.

My impression now

She's young and that colours pretty much all of her actions. But it also means she has a huge capacity for growth and allows her to create that change in others too (the obvious one being Loid but you see it with others too). And Spy x Family may be a slow-burn but we're starting to get some of that pay off in terms of character development.

Hmm, what else, I guess she's pretty determined. Thinking of that post about how "Anya would be unstoppable if not for the small fact that she's five". So yeah, her logic is questionable at times (most of the time) and she's got abandonment issues and she's hindered by her age. But she's found a family now and it's clear she wants to keep them and wants them to keep her too.

Favorite thing about that character

I think the aspects that cause Anya the most trouble are those which she hasn't shared with anyone. Her powers, her background in general, her age. They're all tied together and her fear of abandonment (likely exacerbated by her foster families) prevents her from seeking help when they cause her issues. Loid knows pieces, but he's missing some really key bits of information and he has no idea. So it's neat that this character who arguably holds the most knowledge about other people's secrets cannot share her own.

Least favorite thing

I really don't like to think about some of the stuff that if you follow logic Anya must have been exposed to through her powers. There's some aspect of her not being able to comprehend all thoughts, but I imagine there's a lot that gets through which is just, quite frankly horrific.

There's that scene fairly early on where Loid and Anya come across a rally and there's some pretty yikes stuff being thought by those attending. In that scene, the focus is more on how crowds tend to overwhelm her given her powers, but between that and whatever's going on with Melinda, well, it's pretty clear she can and will hear things that would be uncomfortable for *anyone* to hear, never mind someone not even six years old.

Favorite interaction that character has with another

Loid-Anya cruise subplot. She's not lost the abandonment issues, but she sure has Loid wrapped around her finger and takes full advantage of it. She's just trying to help Yor, but she's making Loid completely suffer for it and it is hilarious.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more

Handler. They've had a couple of interactions in canon and Anya reminds her of her own daughter which is already such a dynamic to start with. Anya seems to like Handler too. It's a mutually healing relationship, but also funny to consider them both driving Loid up the wall with stress.

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character

Maybe Steven Universe? Something about kids with atypical family setups who are too young to be involved in this stuff getting involved regardless and setting themselves up for trauma down the line. Wanting to save the world, but not yet understanding what that entails. Their powers being tied to something beyond their control; something that will absolutely come back to bite them.

In terms of personality though? I'm kind of blanking.

This is one of those where it's more the vibes than the exact story, but I think the whole 'family to family until you find a home' and 'seems cheery but actually quite sad' and some of the stuff around 'helping' all fit in a way.

(Merged this with 'headcanon' because I realised my read of the situation here could fit that and I blanked on *actual* headcanons but they'd probably mostly revolve around sensory overload from her powers so)

Not sure how unpopular this opinion actually is, because I don't tend to lurk in those places, but I genuinely don't think Anya at this stage is "into" Damian in any way. And though I doubt it'll pan out that way, I would very much prefer if she stays uninterested in him in that way? I do think it'd be neat to explore the fallout when Damian realises she was trying to befriend him for his connections given that's already been brought up as something that'd upset him. But I'd rather their dynamic lead to genuine friendship rather than romance. For now, Damian's crush and Anya's awkward overtures as she tries to progress the mission do entertain me, as do the small moments where they interact genuinely. But I just find the idea of a crush when they're that young actually working out to be... well, pretty unbelievable?

Irene didn’t realize they were staring.

A small fish goes flying through the air, nearly hitting them in the face. It hits Grim instead. The perpetrator is giggling in the water, swishing his tail taunting, eyes locked onto theirs. It’s then that Irene shakes their head from side to side, deaf to the sound of Grim screeching at the eel mer. All they can think about is how uncomfortable it is that they just got caught staring at none other than Floyd Leech. Just great.

Since when did they zone out?

“Why are ya staring so much, sea walnut?” Floyd calls out, voice shrill with the pleasure of catching them in an embarrassing position, “Something on my face?”

“It’s nothing, Floyd.” they say coolly, keeping their eyes flicked onto him just in case he tries anything else.

“Aww, you’re not fun. C’mon, sea walnut. The water is juuuust right.” he giggles, drifting closer to shore.

Irene jolts back as though he’s burned them, ignoring the flash of heat in their cheeks. There is no way they’re going into the water. No way.

“I’m sure it is, but I have things to do.” they remind him, but he doesn’t seem deterred in the slightest.

“Boo. You work too hard, sea walnut.” Floyd pouts, flicking some water at them with his tail.

“It’s not working too hard, it’s making sure I can get some embarrassing photos of Vargas so I can use them as blackmail for my next scheme against Crowley.” they hiss, quiet enough so only Floyd can hear.

At that, Floyd jumps out of the water and onto them, tail flopping on land.

“Sounds fun! I want in!” Floyd beams, wriggling like a worm on a hook.

“Oi, Floyd! Don’t crush the Prefect!” Ace yells from the trees, making a beeline to the pile of eel and struggling Prefect.

It’s not like he’d be able to help anyway. Irene knew it was easier to go along with Floyd’s whims.

Okay so I've mostly stepped back from DBD recently since it's been a bit boring since the last event, but I do really need to comment on the balancing.

Right now, people on both the survivor and killer side are complaining about how stupid each side's perks are, and unfortunately I have to 100% side with the killers on this one. Killer perk meta is annoying rn, but survivor perk meta outright puts you into un-winnable situations.

The complaint for the killer side is that there is far too much stacking regression perks, which is fair. Pain Res plus Pop does an insane amount of damage for the cost of one down, and Grim Embrace makes it even worse. However, even though it's annoying and not fun, they *did* earn that regression through the down. It's not fun, but it is fair. Annoying? totally.

However on the survivor side, you can be placed into a losing scenario from what should be an advantageous situation. After a down, you now have to worry HEAVILY about a plethora of perks. If you want to pick up immediately, you have to worry about background player and flashbangs and flashlights. BUT if you dont pick up immediately, you set yourself up to get the down negated entirely by FTP + Buckle Up. Perks like forced hesitation arent enough to stop the insane haste from Background Player, so you cant rely on those at all. And if someone is downed on a pallet, you cant really do anything unless you are completely sure nobody is within a few dozen miles from you, since even if you think youre safe, there could be background player zooming across the map in a matter of milliseconds, denying the down. And all of this assumes that you have the time to act before someone rushes in with FTP Buckle Up, since the cooldown from attacking is long enough that if someone is close enough, well, then you dont have a down, and now two people have endurance and cant be downed again. And then throw Mettle of Man in and now you've got invulnerable survivors from throwing themselves right at you after a down. Right now too many perks synergize in a way that removes any potential risk from the reward. And yes, it does require altruism to do this, which makes SWF players stronger, and may not help the average solo player as much, but that's not surprising. All it takes is one decent survivor to just entirely destroy a killer.

And of course, the killers this effects most are weaker ones. Nurse and Blight do not give a shit, but for a Trapper or a Wraith? Yeah its GG. There is *nothing* you can do. And pre-rework Twins was absolutely and utterly DECIMATED by FTP Buckle Up. If you were a Twins against that combo, you shouldve just disconnected, there was no chance to win.

Yes some killer perks are annoying and feel unfun as shit, personally i despise Friends Til The End since it's basically a free-tunnel perk but theres no one killer perk or build I see and just stop and go "what do i even do here?". With survivor perks, I will occasionally see them and go "shit... what now?" since there are some situations you just cant outplay

seth's relationship dynamics with canon characters!

FINALLY I'M MAKING THIS POST. FINALLY. okay i'm probably posting too much seth content rn, but also!! he's my mc!! he deserves to have more content!! and yeah, this post is about his relationships with nrc students, so nrc staff members + rsa and nbc students won't be mentioned.

grim.

grim didn't think much of seth at first and he found him kinda annoying. seth doesn't look like the most reliable sidekick and he's not listening to him at all! so yeah, grim had zero respect for this guy and he thought he's just a dumb blond boy and nothing more. but then.. he slowly started becoming terrified of him. at first he got scared of him only because THIS BOY DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF HIM. HE DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING. it's almost like he has never seen a real animal before.. he can easily feed grim something poisonous or he can do something even more dangerous and IT WON'T EVEN BE INTENTIONAL. and then, grim started to notice that seth really does have a dark side and he showed it for the first time during the prologue. seth can be much more cruel and sadistic than most people think, so.. YEAH HE'S GOT A VERY INTERESTING SIDEKICK. so grim tried to do everything without seth's help, but eventually he warmed up to him for one simple reason.. to be honest, grim got kinda worried about him. this boy doesn't know anything about this world and he keeps getting in trouble. also even though he's 18, sometimes grim feels like he's talking to a child and it feels very weird. so maybe.. maybe grim should take care of him. he's his sidekick after all, he must make sure nothing bad happens to him! also grim keeps eating overblot crystals because seth thinks it's okay for him to do that and doesn't even try to stop him

"grim-chan! grim-chan, where are you going? come on, you know you can't hide from me! yay, i caught you! let's go back to our dorm now, i'm feeling kinda tired."

ace trappola.

OHHHH ACE HATED HIM SO MUCH AT FIRST. he thought seth was too weird and he hated that he can't prank him, because seth's reactions are not that interesting. so yeah, he didn't like him and he bullied him a lot while seth still had this :D face and ace hated it SO MUCH. and seth just kept trying to become friends with him! WHY IS HE LIKE THIS?? during the prologue, ace was really mad about having to work with seth, like one idiot deuce is already a lot, but two idiots?? however, just like grim, he found out about seth's dark side and.. he actually ended up respecting him. well, not exactly respecting him, but at first he got VERY SCARED of him and then he was like "wait. wait that's kinda cool actually" but no, ace will never tell seth that he finds him cool! but seth knows. he knows that ace secretly admires him. congrats ace, this guy will never shut up about you being a tsundere. ace also sometimes finds seth's jokes really funny (but he refuses to admit that he laughed at them) and he thinks that seth is actually a very talented person, he just wishes his personality was a bit.. different. he really can't keep up with him sometimes.

"hehe, ace-chan, i know you like me! you're such a cute boy, even though you can act like a troublemaker sometimes."

deuce spade.

deuce wasn't sure what to think of seth when he first met him. he knew that seth is a good person, but his personality was.. a bit too much. deuce tried to avoid him at first, just like many other students, but seth kept trying to become friends with him and deuce went "wait you know what. sure, you seem like a cool guy :)" and if grim and ace are scared of seth's real self, DEUCE IS ACTUALLY SO HAPPY?? he just met a person who's so similar to him and also seth doesn't judge deuce for his past and he even tells him that he's proud of deuce for trying to change. after that, deuce starts following seth around and becomes very loyal to him. HE'S KINDA LIKE HIS SEBEK DHDJKSSLLS. he tries to punch ace every time he makes fun of seth and the blond boy has to stop these two from arguing. he's very thankful to deuce for his support, but he doesn't want him to fight others just for seth's sake! that's not what an honor student would do! deuce is also one of the few students who calls him "seth-senpai" just like seth wants, even though he's a first-year as well. he just respects him a lot and he wants to show it! also when that iconic eggs and chicks scene happened, both deuce and seth were shocked.

"deuce-chan, you want to become an honor student, right? and you want to do it for your mom, right? see, you want to change yourself and you're actually trying to do it, and that's already enough. and i'm proud of you for trying to become a better person."

trey clover.

both of them know each other well, but they're still not that close. trey is not surprised that seth and cater get along so well, and he was the first one who noticed how similar they are. trey also tried to be understanding when seth refused to help riddle who overblotted, but he still felt kind of.. yeah, he was a bit mad. though again, he knew that it's weird to ask seth for help, considering that he's just a magicless human from another world. trey also has some suspicions about seth's family situation as someone who has a lot of siblings and he thinks that seth has a sibling who didn't treat him so well. however, he never brings up that topic because he doesn't want seth to be uncomfortable.

"hm? trey-chan? uh.. he's okay, i guess? kinda boring though, but there must be more to his personality, right? right??.. no? aw man, that sucks.."

cater diamond.

THAT'S HIS BESTIE. THAT'S HIS HOMIE. cater and seth are very close, they get along really well because of their similar personalities, however, most people have no idea what they're talking about because of how much slang they use. they're not only a very funny duo, they also understand each other's problems well and they're always here to listen to each other in case if they just.. don't want to be alone. seth is one of the few people who knows that cater is only pretending to be this silly and funny boy and cater knows some things about seth's past as well. honestly, these two are so close that some people may even think they're dating, but they're just that comfortable with each other. they may still need some time to fully open up, but it's okay.

"cater-chan is literally the best! i love him so much, i know that i can trust him and that he will always be there to support me, hehe~ oh, and i will do the same for him, of course!"

riddle rosehearts.

oh, riddle DID NOT like him at first. he hated seth, actually. how can someone be so irresponsible, so loud, so chaotic, so- wait. wait, seth actually ALSO DOESN'T LIKE HIM?? it's not like seth hates him, but it's like.. he just goes "ah. you're also here" and that's it. when he first met riddle, he really wanted them to become closer because he thought that riddle is very pretty, but.. eventually he got tired of riddle talking about rules all the time. he actually had the courage to say it right to his face. "hey, riddle-chan, your majesty, the queen of hearts himself, can you shut up about rules for at least one second? you don't look cute when you do that, you know. also, talking about the same thing all the time makes you sound sooooo boring!".. unfortunately, seth doesn't have any magic powers, so it makes no sense for riddle to use his unique magic on him. also, at first seth refused to help riddle when he overblotted. his reason? "i just think riddle-chan is pretty, but he's not that important to me. why should i care? i knew him for only, like, a week, and we're not friends, you know." he agreed to help only because he was curious to see what's gonna happen and he has to be honest.. maybe he relates to riddle a bit too much. it doesn't mean that he'll go easy on him though and right after his overblot, he slaps riddle and tells him that "if he's gonna try to kill everyone like this, he has to get a more interesting motivation than his mommy issues". however, eventually, seth starts acting like his usual self around him and he treats riddle better now and even riddle himself feels a bit more relaxed when seth is with him. he still acts like he can't stand him, but other heartslabyul students can see that the ramshackle prefect has definitely influenced him in some way. it's like.. riddle looks more happy when seth is around.

"hiiii, your majesty!~ how are you doing today?" *sighs* "ugh, which rule did i break this time? hey, hey, what if i'm actually breaking the queen's rules because i want you to pay more attention to me? what are you gonna do about that? OW- hey, what's the point in making me wear this collar, i'm literally magicless!"

leona kingscholar.

you see, it's one thing when seth hates you, but if seth doesn't find you interesting at all and thinks you're boring.. that's actually worse. he doesn't care about leona and he ignores him (or pretends to) to the point of literally walking all over him if he sees leona taking a nap somewhere. no, he doesn't care if he steps on his tail or anything like that. he will step on it again, actually, and then he will go "sorry, leona-chan, can you repeat what you just said?" when he first met him, he did admit that leona is attractive, but he said that it's his only redeeming quality. and when lilia said all those things before leona overblotted, SETH WAS RIGHT THERE WITH HIM, JUST STANDING AND NODDING. and when leona finally did overblot, he actually got a bit confused because of how calm seth was. he's not a magic user, he's helpless against him, how is he gonna protect himself?? and then seth said something that made leona kinda respect him (he will never mention it though) because you have to be very brave or very stupid to say these words to someone who just overblotted.

"okay, we get it, leona-chan, you weren't loved enough or something like that. wow, i can't believe that people ended up ignoring and even hating a guy like you who never even tried to become a better person! yeah, sure, your brother was more popular and maybe people were kinda unfair, but have you ever tried using your brain to understand why people loved him more? no? SO WHY ARE YOU WASTING MY TIME LIKE THIS? I WANTED TO WATCH CUTE GUYS PLAY SPORTS, SO WHY THE HELL SHOULD I DEAL WITH YOU? I'M SO MAD RIGHT NOW, I'M GONNA MAKE YOU CHOKE ON THAT SAND OF YOURS!.. huh, why are you so quiet?"

ruggie bucchi.

ruggie didn't think much of seth when he first met him and just thought "oh, he's kind of a weird dude, but whatever, i've seen worse". meanwhile seth actually thought that ruggie is very cute and wanted to learn more about him. also yes, he tried to touch his hyena ears right when he saw him. their dynamic is basically just seth going 🥺🥺🥺 whenever he sees ruggie and trying to give him headpats and ruggie finding him annoying sometimes, but also.. not minding his company that much. also he thinks the way seth treats leona is very funny and when he heard what seth said to overblot!leona.. yeah, seth just became that student who ruggie respects the most. you can't really call them friends, but they have a pretty good relationship :)

"ruggie-chan is soooo cute!~ like, have you seen him?? i wish he would let me touch his ears though. but it's okay, i'll do it one day no matter what!"

jack howl.

IT'S HIS SON. IT'S HIS WOLF SON!! he "adopted" jack right when he saw him for the first time, just like he did with most freshmen and yeah, he also tried to touch his fluffy ears, but failed because of their height difference and went for the tail. and succeeded. jack is still not over it. seth still has a habit to play with jack's tail whenever he's around (bonus if seth is thinking deeply about something). their dynamic is kinda similar to ace and seth's one, jack secretly respects seth a lot because of how brave and hardworking this guy is, but he will never tell him that and he will just continue acting like a tsundere. but it's okay, seth knows that jack likes him anyway <3

"jack-chan's tail is so soft and fluffy, hehe.. oh, wait, what do i think of jack-chan himself? i love him a lot, he's like a son to me or a little brother! even though he's so much taller than me, haha.. though i wish he was a bit more honest about his feelings, come on, jack-chan, i know you love me too!"

azul ashengrotto.

literally zero interest. literally couldn't care less about him. seth started getting tired of overblots when the chapter 3 events happened and he also didn't understand this whole contracts thing, so he just went "okay, we get it, azul-chan, you're such a sigma male + patrick bateman kinnie + gigachad, but can i go back to my dorm". THIS SENTENCE ALONE MADE AZUL BECOME TERRIFIED OF HIM. azul is also scared of him because he can't predict seth's behavior at all, seth's logic doesn't make any sense to him and he can't understand his way of thinking. but he's not surprised that seth gets along with the leech twins very well, it's easier for them to understand him because of how.. unique they are. also yeah, seth kinda traumatized him when he told him that his backstory was boring and he expected more from him. YEAH.

"oh, i'm so sorry you were bullied in the past, but guess what, IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU SPECIAL! it happened to most kids, you can't just use it as an excuse to act like this, SO STOP WASTING MY TIME ALREADY! ugh, of course, a nerd like you would turn out to be so predictable.. your overblot form is 7/10 though."

jade leech.

i talked more about their dynamic in this post, so to make my job easier, i'll just leave the link, haha. but yeah, they have a really good relationship and you can actually call them friends!

"jade-chan always has so much to say about mushrooms! haha, he really likes them a lot. he's so interesting too, you know, he's like.. a nerd in a good way, not like azul-chan."

floyd leech.

again, i talked about it in this post! they're also pretty good friends, however, floyd does find seth annoying sometimes, because he can see right through him and he knows that seth is mostly pretending to be this optimistic and cheerful. he knows that seth actually finds most things around him boring and that's why, ironically, floyd finds him boring too. he really thought that seth is a much more fun-loving person and not just another "smiling to hide his pain" kind of guy.

"whenever i'm with floyd-chan, i always end up having so much fun! i have no idea what's going on in his head and that's why i love him!.. though he does have his boring moments too sometimes."

kalim al-asim.

BEST FRIEND NUMBER TWO!! whenever these two see each other, they're like "HEYYYYY :)" "HEYYYYY!! :D" both of them are very energetic and they can talk about all kinds of stuff for hours and they don't get tired of it. kalim is always happy when seth visits his dorm and he never forgets to invite him to their parties. and surprisingly, kalim also feels like deep down, seth is actually suffering a lot, so he's always here if he needs some support. he may not know what to say and how to help him, but hey, he can at least be there for him!

"i love kalim-chan so much, honestly, i never get bored when he's around! i never miss his parties too! imagine if i were in the same dorm as him, we would be unstoppable- ah, jamil-chan wouldn't like that."

jamil viper.

JAMIL HATES HIM SO MUCH. what did he do to deserve two kalims running around. whenever he sees seth, he gets a headache and he has to close his eyes and pretend that he doesn't see him. he still tries to be nice to seth because he can't let kalim know that he hates his bff, and also.. seth knows that jamil doesn't like him. he knows it well. however, he still refuses to leave him alone. why? because it's fun to watch him suffer and try to be polite even though he's this close to punching seth in the face! also seth just wants to know how much time it will take before jamil finally breaks and shows his true self- oh, chapter 4, there you are! honestly, jamil is one of the few nrc students that seth actually understands and doesn't find that boring, but it doesn't mean that he will stop being irritating on purpose. jamil's reactions make him such an interesting person after all!

"oh, jamil-chan, i've been looking for you everywhere! i'm so sorry for bothering you, but can you help me with this? my brain is too smooth to understand it, haha.. are you okay, jamil-chan? you look like you just saw, oh, i don't know, kalim-chan's clone, maybe?"

vil schoenheit.

vil's relationship with seth is an interesting one. he doesn't get seth at all and he thinks he's a very strange person, but he has to admit that he likes seth's style a lot and he thinks he's very talented. he finds it impressive that seth can easily make a beautiful outfit in just two or three hours and he actually asked seth for help once. he doesn't like the "seth and vil are actually twins" joke though. also vil was very surprised when he found out that seth is pretty good at acting even though he never had to learn how to do it. maybe it's a natural talent- no, it can't be that. he could become this good at it only thanks to a lot of hard work. seth probably just doesn't want to talk about it.

"vil-chan? oh, you mean my twin?" *laughs* okay, okay, i gotta agree, this joke is becoming kinda old. he's so pretty, i understand why he's so popular! to be honest, i actually thought of asking him out once, i just thought it would be fun, but my bestie is actually in love with him, so yeah, i'm not stealing her man.. yet. IT WAS A JOKE, IVY-CHAN, IT WAS A JOKE-"

rook hunt.

they get along really well thanks to their eccentric personalities and sometimes seth visits the pomefiore dorm just to hang out with rook. he doesn't understand more than half of what rook says, but it's okay, that's why he finds rook even more interesting! rook admires seth a lot and he finds his paintings, designs, outfits and other works extremely beautiful. but he can't deny that he's a bit worried about him, seth doesn't know anything about twisted wonderland and this world can be quite dangerous.. so yeah, he hopes seth doesn't mind rook watching him from time to time. also it does make sense for rook to give him a "trickster" nickname considering seth's personality, haha.

"not gonna lie, rook-chan is a really fun person to be around! i have to use a translator whenever i'm talking to him though.. but hey, at least it's not boring! also, is it just me or he really started hanging around the ramshackle dorm more often now?"

epel felmier.

seth wants epel to see him as his big brother figure SO BADLY, but epel finds him so annoying 😔 epel has to pretend to like him because if vil finds out about him misbehaving, it's not gonna end well, but if it's just seth and epel and there's no one around, he won't even try to be nice to him. he wants seth to leave him alone and he doesn't understand why seth is so obsessed with taking care of younger students.. also, what's the deal with him making all freshmen call him "senpai"? he's also a freshman, he's just older than them! does he just want more power over them?.. there was a time when epel accidentally called him "nii-san" though. epel is not proud of it and seth will never let him forget about it. so who knows, maybe epel actually likes seth! at least, seth hopes so.

"epel-chan, i know you like me! come on, i know you called me "nii-san" once! you totally see me as a big brother figure!" *sighs* "you know that not admitting that you like me only makes you even cuter, right? WAIT I FORGOT YOU DON'T LIKE BEING CALLED "CUTE"-"

idia shroud.

seth hates him. next. OKAY OKAY he just thinks idia is one of the most boring students here. and no, it's not about his personality, seth knows that introverted people exist and he loves them and thinks they're cute, however.. seth doesn't think idia is that cute. he even finds him kinda creepy, honestly. he wishes there was more to idia's personality than just him never going outside and being a gamer boy. a guy like him could never make seth's life more fun.. as for idia himself, HE'S JUST SCARED OF HIM. not even because he's another extrovert, but also because seth is an only extrovert who actually hates him and doesn't want to be friends with him. he sees seth glaring at him and he just *SCREAMS*. but also, for some reason, idia finds seth kinda interesting. maybe it's exactly because of seth hating idia so much, this boy is too used to extroverts wanting to talk to him more. he's still scared of him though.

"ah, idia-chan. he sure exists. listen, even if i wanted a gamer boyfriend, i still would never choose him."

ortho shroud.

ortho is one of the students who call seth "senpai" just like he wants and he respects him a lot! ortho also wants to understand seth's thought process more, because, you know, he's a robot boy and he loves learning! he wishes seth and idia had a better relationship though and he even asked seth to become friends with his brother, because idia could really use a friend like him. seth said he'll think about it, but even though he likes ortho.. he knows well that he and idia are never gonna be friends. also, it's probably gonna sound weird, but seth is a bit jealous of ortho. he's just so pure, so innocent and his big brother loves him so much..

"huh.. maybe i hate idia-chan so much because i wish my relationship with nee-chan was- ahem, i like ortho-chan, he's such a sweet boy! he's so much nicer than his brother, haha.."

OH THIS ONE. THIS IS AN INTERESTING ONE. you see, at first seth actually liked malleus a lot, because wow.. a mysterious goth bf who visits him every night?😳😳 they had a very good relationship and they liked each other a lot, malleus wanted to know more about seth and he was happy to finally have a friend.. or maybe something more than that, hehe. but then, seth started to become afraid of malleus just using him so that he won't feel lonely anymore. what if malleus doesn't actually care that much about seth's personality, interests, thoughts? he started feeling like if malleus met a different person and not seth, nothing would change, because malleus just wants a friend and nothing more. what if seth is not that special to him? that's when he starts avoiding malleus and visiting other dorms and even schools so that he won't have to see him. he also starts calling him "malleus-chan" instead of "tsunotarou" because malleus doesn't deserve a unique nickname from him. seth hopes that malleus isn't just using him to feel better, but.. can he really trust him?

seth's dynamics with these two are kinda similar, so i'll write them like this. he likes both of them a lot, he's very supportive of them and he's sure that they're gonna be great knights.. ahaha, yeah, maybe that's why he's so friendly with them. going to the same school as guys who are training to become knights one day sounds like something out of a fairytale, don't you think? silver is okay with seth's company and he genuinely thinks seth is a good person despite his.. interesting personality, meanwhile sebek HATES him because of how chaotic he is and also he doubts that he would be a good friend for malleus.. he turns out to be right. it's kinda funny actually, at first sebek hated seth because he spent so much time with malleus (and yeah, he was jealous of him) and then he started hating him because seth decided to avoid malleus.

so a list of changes astoria makes in her soa verse, bc i'm thinking about it a whole lot rn—

she dyes her hair a few shades darker, from her natural ginger to an auburn, and she cuts it from where she's grown it past her elbows to her shoulders. (to her shoulders when dry—her curls are really bouncy at that length.) her hair looks something like this, and that's about how she styles it, too.

she cries when she cuts her hair. everything else she manages without a fuss, but she cries a lot when she cuts her hair.

she adjusts her clothing style. part of this is a matter of necessity, since she can't actually afford the clothes she used to wear when she's cut off from the family's money. but previously she tended towards neutrals with occasional bursts of color and she drew attention whenever she could. she buys mostly black, deep blue or purple or green, and pairs almost exclusively with jeans or leggings and jackets or hoodies.

her makeup style changes pretty significantly as well, from a sort of old hollywood glamor (bold red lip and fairly restrained eyeliner and that's about it) to something a little more dramatic (thicker eyeliner, darker lipstick with more of a purple undertone).

rather than try to hide her visible tattoos, she alters them. the floral sleeve on her left arm looks bolder—she blacks out the space between the flowers, and makes the lines of the flowers thicker. she gets a tattoo of a crow on the back of her right hand and plans to get something over her collarbones.

she doesn't try to change her accent, but she does try to tone it down a bit. if anyone asks, she says she's from iceland (which is not really that much of a lie).

a lot of these changes are relatively minor, or at least not as dramatic as they could be; this is by design. she figures she'll have an easier time learning to respond to a similar name and keeping an accent that's natural to her. minor changes will be easier to maintain in the long run, and she can keep making adjustments as necessary. maybe the accent fades with time. maybe the dark red gets darker and darker until it's black, or a less natural-looking red. maybe the makeup starts changing more and more.

the way she sees it, she's a lot less suspicious if she doesn't seem like she's faking it. she left from london; it'll be a while before anyone declares her missing, since she's a grown woman and she left a trail leading nowhere. once she's declared missing, it'll be a while more before american authorities are looking for her. she has a solid alias, the documentation she needs, and lies she can remember. it's not about making a huge and dramatic change; it's about making enough small changes that she can maintain the new identity for as long as possible.

and while she's astrid vogel instead of astoria grim, she misses a lot of stuff happening with her family—

her grandfather retires, and his health starts to decline. she will see him before he passes, but she's always pretty bitter about the time she lost with him. it's her one major regret.

her mother marries. astoria's new stepfather has two sons from a previous marriage, both of whom are in their early twenties, and both of whom get along beautifully with veronika. when astoria finds out, and it's safe to do so, she eventually sends a card congratulating them. she is wildly resentful that her mother learned how to be a good mother only when she was out of the picture.

her uncle (who she considers more a brother than an uncle, since they were raised together) takes over the family's vineyard, and starts training one of his sons to take over after him.

her father becomes fully estranged from his parents. though he's not fully disowned, they don't engage much, if at all, outside of necessities regarding the estate.

her half-sister gets married, too, and moves to edinburgh with her wife. rowan and her wife eventually have two children of their own, the first coming shortly after the wedding. rowan has a hard time with her sister having missed so much and been gone without a word, but she learns to forgive her in time.

Hello I recently found out you have been watching a series of unfortunate events and I just. I have so much to say omg!! For now I will settle with, how are you liking the show and who/what are your favorite things about it rn?

i'd already seen s1 and part of s2 w my family, but i decided to rewatch from the beginning, bc, well.

yeah.

a series of unfortunate events were books i read as a child, like. y'know the way i read the bad begnning and then i'd just grab whichever were free and settle in for an hour or so of reading. like. just. picturing their covers reminds me of being in fifth grade and sitting in a chair to read. reading was so escapism for me that i hold all childhood book series close to my chest. (fun fact!: i broke up w someone over them once.) (/j it was complicated but they did technically play a part.)

(aside: i loved anything like that, and just...god i read the bad beginning so many times. i was obsessed w tragedy and so a book series where i didn't have to sit thru to find the bad bits? the punch of knowing that there was always another hit? no happy ending would stick? good shit.)

i'm on s3 rn? i watched the first half of the grim grotto, but the second episode ended up being too much, so a friend found a summary for me, but i haven't been in the Mood for it since then. i might pick it up tonight or tomorrow, we'll See.

i'm really liking the show! i think they managed to capture the tone of the books really, really well. like. damn. that's the way to do it.

y'know how the princess bride movie is completely different from the book? because the book is sarcastic and snippy and they couldn't make it fit a movie so they just cut it?

(aside ii: no shade on the princess bride movie. i love the book and the movie. but you have to understand they're two entirely disparate stories.)

but a tv show has time to do freezes and author speaking to you like that and the narration so a series of unfortunate events gets to breathe and it gets to be told the only way it could be told.

urgh it makes me want to scream into a pillow i'm so happy about how it got told. it just. it feels as much like reading the books did as it could, and that makes me so happy.

so yeah those r overall thoughts.

characterwise...

uhm this isn't characterwise i just want to pause and say i think they're doing a good job w the deaths. that's really hard to pull off in a children's show, but they're doing it. it's very impressive and netflix is really doing well w this series.

okay back to character thoughts.

i've liked most characters tbh. i think everyone is done really well.

count olaf doesn't fit with him in my head from the books, but not in a bad way. like the him-in-my-head was not going to work on tv i'm okay w that change. it's not even a change? it's just a subtle distinction.

i find the baudelaires are...hm.

i don't think of them in the same way i used to, and i know why. part of it is growing up, part of it is, well...

i'm not in the mood to bare my soul in a way you probably didn't expect from a short little ask, so i won't. i'll just say reflection on that part is a little bittersweet.

now you'll have to forgive me because i have a memory problem so names are not my strongsuit, nor is spelling, but i really like the snicket siblings! they're fans. and the um. the woman who made the new madame lulu. i liked her quite a lot.

the quagmire triplets r also favourites. i have a feeling that something i'm having thoughts about atm (wrt violet and what's-his-name's conversation about fires) is going to be resolved later, so i won't say what i think now, lest i invite people to comment/spoil things. but i'm a fan of the three of them. i dunno.

sibling relationships hit me in all sorts of ways.

something that hit me unexpectedly hard was violet's moment when klaus was hypnotized. her "i'm supposed to protect him" just.

aaaand i am of course having thoughts about sunny but wrt ep 2 of the grim grotto they went from normal thoughts i'd tell anyone to suddenly and intensely personal so i can't share them BUT know they are there and they are many.

I really love the more happy feelings in the songs, especially since the majority of songs I listen to are pretty grim, lol. god bless the children of the beast was also interesting to hear because of just how different it was compared to the other two tracks, but it's not something I'd listen to on a regular basis. it managed to give me a slight scare with the voice at the end which is kinda funny in hindsight, lol

some of my recommendations would be moto psycho by megadeth, murders in the rue morgue by iron maiden, and brain dead by exodus. like you said about your recommendations, no pressure, but it would be cool to hear about what you think if you decide to listen to them all

my day was good though! I didn't do anything special today but it was just a bit of a chill day today after I got home, and I enjoyed being able to relax. I think I must have spent an hour just laying on the floor, lol

im wrighting a book rn, tell me what you think of my first chapter

The Butterfly Prince

Prolog

Annabelle ran for her life. What was happening? Her brother used to be so sweet…. Why had he killed her family? What did he want? What was going on?! She ran as fast as she could, before jumping into a bush, her cold blue blood starting to turn gold. A omen of death. It could mean her, it could mean her home, her village, and if she was lucky, maybe even him.

Chapter One

Aponi was the youngest of his brothers and only older then one sister. So, he was often forgotten about. He was always told to go to school, which meant reading in the big library of his palace, and only the butlers coming to check on him while he worked constantly until he couldn’t fit any more information in his head. Finally, the butler would tell him, “Dinner is ready, sir.” And he would nod his head in thanks, close the book he read, and walk on out to the long hallways, past the swooning maids, and the polite butlers. His tall, slim figure made anyone fall for him, but sadly, he didn’t like women all that much. He always thought they we’re…. a bit odd. Falling for men, even if married, but men we’re the same, but less likely to fall face first for some dumb girl who would probably treat them like crap anyways. He wasn't saying he didn’t like them, since, y’know, he loved his sisters, but they could just be… mean sometimes. The dimly lit halls normally gave a eerie feeling, but it was no bother to him. Although, it was starting to creep on him, growing in him. The faint sound of the giggles of his brothers echo in the empty hallway as he made his way to the dinning room. Luckily for him, he saw the trap that his brothers set up with fishing wire. So, he studied it, figuring it was made around his height. Sadly, he wasn't as stupid as his brothers thought, so, he jumped up, spread his Butterfly wings so that he wouldn’t trigger it. He figured it would be better to stay in the air, since, his brothers we’re quite tricky. Although, they all had wings, and we’re all good at flying, so it wouldn’t stop them, but he could still wish. Soon he made it to the dinning room, and nothing had happened. Aponi let out a relived sigh, and sat down at the table, his heart slowing down as he took deep breaths to calm his soul from the stress of being injured. Again. Soon his sisters joined the dinner, then one by one, his brothers joined too. The only one who had been there when he sat down at the table was his eldest brother, Birabiro, who, as always, had his stern, grim face, that always looked like he wanted to kill him with his eyes. He was one of the only people whos wings weren't colorful. They we’re black and dark purples, and he hardly showed his face, and when he did, he looked as if he would destroy the world as we know it with ease. But something was off as he looked at his brother. He was…. Smiling? No, not smiling, grinning. Something he had never done. He soon would grow uncomfortable, and start to squirm in his seat, trying to ignore his brother’s stare. Soon, after they thanked the gods for their food, he took a drink from his cup of what was supposed to be water, while his brothers all stared and whispered. He felt awful, as in horror, he realized he had just drunk one of the deadliest poisons his kingdom had; Metercrow Fale.

Ok so I have this one OC that's been following me for almost two years now and I'm getting so sentimental over them right now because they've got me through some hard times and they helped me face the world, no matter how hard it's been. Their name is Berry and I just wanted to show you how they evolved through those two years.

This is my first ever drawing of them. They were heavily inspired by those "alt art tiktok compilation" that I used to draw when I wanted to get ideas for vent art. I remember being like "I'm gonna make an alt OC so that my friends will love me!", Honnestly those were awful friends so this was a bit of a stupid thought.

Around that time I decided that I wanted to add a little bit more white to their hair. This was kind of my animation meme phase so off they got the edgy sans fangirl eye because it was cool!!

The eye got covered by a pretty eye patch! And that was the start of their ear piercings as well. I really love this design and it kind of was the thing that made me realize how much I liked to draw them at that time.

This design doesn't change too much but I decided to add more pink (only to remove it later lol) this was around this time that I was considering becoming a Vtuber but I soon dropped the idea because of a lot of family issues that were going on at that time.

This design was there for a single drawing and I dislike it much but it was a good clothing practice because I wanted to diverge from always drawing hoodies a little bit.

I don't have much to say about this one besides the fact that I really liked this art style like damn they look so freaking badass!

This is one of the most recent drawings. I personally dislike it because it doesn't give me the vibe of the character much. They look sad but this character is always angry/emotionless so is just didn't fit.

This is my most recent drawings of them. Accidentally put the eve patch on the wrong eye..woops! I like this drawing lots and I think I did a good job at portraying them right.

I have their introduction here so I'll give them to you, it's a bit old though so I'll edit some modifications is when rewriting rn

"About Berry

Berry is ageless. They use they/them pronouns and are aroace. They're half reaper and half shapeshifter.

Berry is quite violent and easily gets angry with people. They're impulsive and not very smart so they can get really stupid ideas like taking over the world and cutting the tall people's legs so they can finally be tall. They work as a Reaper and use their knife as a weapon to reap souls.

Berry has an.....odd relationship with their knife to say the least. They call their knife a lover but no one is sure if it's a joke or if it's actually serious. They're friends with Kitty and Crywqii but really hate to admit that they enjoy the company of those two.

Berry doesn't have much free time but when they do have free time they like to go grab a slushie somewhere and watch a drama serie or a serial killer documentary. Some times they play on their Nintendo switch when they're really bored and don't have anything to watch.

(Berry is 138cm tall but they're salty about it so they weak 10cm plateformes at all time to be 148cm)"

I took this from my old OC carrd that I don't use anymore because I broke it and was too angry to look back at it ever again lololol

Tiny fun fact: they accidentally because a me x the grim reaper ship child at do so point?? Lmao I really don't know what happened there, it dates back to my cringy undertale phase with my old toxic friend group that I finally got tired of after the third picture of a dead body that I saw. Damn.

I feel like I've read a ton, but I'm honestly still pretty new to comics rn. That being said... What is one more day? Ik we don't like it and it happened a while ago, but that's about it [,=

Time for Spider-Man History With Traincat: Highly Controversial Storylines! And that feeling is totally normal with comics with huge canons -- you can read a ton and still have some fairly big blindspots in your understanding of the total picture. That being said, this is kind of a big one, both in terms of Spider-Man history/canon and in terms of how Spider-Man fandom functions. I would say probably no other storyline has had quite as much impact on how the fandom views and interacts with the source material as One More Day/Brand New Day. It's been the Wild West out here ever since it happened. (Which was in 2007, so like, yes, fairly long ago, especially when you look at how Spider-Man canon has evolved since, but in the grand scheme of things, also kind of recent. One More Day is not old enough to rent a car.)

So when people talk about Spider-Man's One More Day, they're usually actually talking about two related arcs: One More Day and Brand New Day. For the sake of simplicity, I'm going to be covering both. For the sake of transparency, I am going to admit that I think One More Day, as a self-contained story, is good, actually. This is controversial! I admit that! But I stand by my stupid opinions on this blog, for some reason. I think One More Day when you examine it on its own, by which I mean you ignore the decade and a half worth of canon that came after it, as a Spider-Man story and as a PeterMJ-centric story holds up under scrutiny and that people who don't like it don't like complicated love stories and might actually throw their own mothers under buses. No offense to the OMD haters. Little bit of offense to the OMD haters. Brand New Day, which is the continuation of One More Day, on the other hand -- largely bad. Very largely bad.

But let's backtrack. One More Day is a four issue crossover storyline that takes place directly after Civil War, during which Iron Man and Captain America got divorced and divvied up the superhero community and Spider-Man made some startlingly bad decisions and made a fugitive out of himself and his family in a manner that got Aunt May shot, and Spider-Man: Back in Black (Amazing Spider-Man #539–543) which examines Peter's actions immediately after Aunt May is shot and ends with him humiliating the Kingpin in front of an entire prison. One More Day consists of Amazing Spider-Man #544 -> Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #24 -> Sensational Spider-Man v2 #41 -> Amazing Spider-Man #545. In One More Day, Aunt May is dying, all of Peter's efforts to save her have thus far failed, and, consumed by guilt, he is rapidly running out of time. Approached by Mephisto, a literal demon from hell, Peter is offered a deal: Aunt May will live -- and Peter's identity, which was previously revealed to the world at large during Civil War, will once again be hidden from the memories of all but a select few -- if Peter trades him his marriage to Mary Jane. Peter and Mary Jane struggle with this, but eventually both agree to the deal. The clock strikes twelve, the deal is done, and Peter and Mary Jane's marriage fades into history.

(ASM #545) A reasonably simple premise for a story that caused so many problems -- most, I would argue, not actually the original story's fault. So obviously, this was an unpopular move -- Peter and Mary Jane had for a long time been a fan favorite Marvel couple, and in a fictional universe where most relationships are doomed as soon as they begin, the enduring Spider-Marriage was sacred ground. And then, with a snap of its fingers, it was gone: Peter wakes up in Aunt May's house, no longer married, with Mary Jane out of the picture. (She would not return to the book on any sort of consistent basis for over 50 issues.) In the wake of One More Day began Brand New Day, which is basically what it sounds like: a promised "brand new day" of "exciting" Spider-Man content and a publishing schedule where Amazing Spider-Man came out three times a month. (Which sounds good on paper but I think in practice caused more problems than it created good storylines.) Peter, newly single again, had new love interests! And also Harry Osborn was alive again for some reason! I generally like Harry's post-BND stories so that part's fine with me.

But overall? Brand New Day is a mess. It knows it wants to tread new and exciting ground with Peter -- tell new stories! ensnare new readers! make them fork out for a book three times a month. -- but it doesn't know what those stories should be. Readers who were invested in Peter and Mary Jane's relationship -- a major facet of Spider-Man comics for decades at that point -- felt rightfully betrayed that the marriage could be so easily traded in and that Mary Jane herself, perhaps the second most important figure in Spider-Man comics after Peter, could be tossed aside. From a personal point of view, I think Brand New Day fails in large part because it abandons what has always made Spider-Man such a compelling series, and that's the mix of Peter's personal life with his vigilante life. BND sees Peter with new friends, new jobs, new love interests, etc -- it is very much a brand new day! But it isn't a better day compared to the stories that came before it. I do like some post-BND stories, especially American Son (ASM #595-599) and Grim Hunt (ASM #634-637), but compared to pre-BND where I think the majority of canon is good, it's a very lacking body of work that is hurt by the way it divorced itself from the PeterMJ marriage as Spider-Man's central relationship.

"But Traincat, I thought you said you liked One More Day?" Yeaaaaah. I do. This is why I keep saying I like One More Day on its own merits, and not on the merits of the stories it opened the doors for. I like a good romantic tragedy in fiction, and the way Peter and Mary Jane's final scene in One More Day plays out is beautiful. I like the idea of Peter caught in this impossible situation, being asked to choose between two women he loves more than his own life. A really common criticism I see leveled against One More Day is that Peter should have chosen his relationship with Mary Jane over May's life, which is -- okay, I think it's weird that people keep insisting on this, not in the least because by asking Peter to sacrifice his aunt's life they're essentially demanding he commit a callous, out of character act in order to further his own interests. It's also weird because the thing is, Peter already chose Mary Jane over May -- that's what gets them into this situation. It's literally in the scene where May is shot:

(ASM #538) When the gun goes off, Peter's spider-sense kicks in, and he covers Mary Jane, leaving May in the path of the bullet. He does choose Mary Jane over May, regardless of whether he realized what he was doing. And that's why he can't make that choice a second time. His actions in One More Day do make sense for him as a character, whether or not any individual reader likes them, and Mary Jane's actions make sense, too -- after all, she's the one who ultimately tells Mephisto that they agree to the deal when Peter can't bring himself to voice it.

A lot of people also like to nitpick One More Day by going, well, why could (x) or (y) with life saving powers save Aunt May which is like -- yeah, I guess, but if we're going to ask that about this specific comic book near death setup, you kind of have to do it with every single one, and I'm not going to stake every single moment of comic book drama on whether or not that gold kid from the X-Men was busy at the time. Comics are soap operas in flimsy paper form: serialized longform storytelling that relies heavily on melodrama. Sometimes you have to go with things. Sometimes you sell your marriage to the devil. Stuff happens. That in and of itself doesn't make One More Day a bad story -- and while some people blame the Spider-Marriage's dissolution entirely on One More Day, I think that's a little shortsighted when you look at the history of Spider-Man since the turn of the century. It's clear -- and Marvel themselves have been perhaps a little too open about this -- that Marvel in the past few decades has had trouble with the direction they want to take Spider-Man. They WANTED Spider-Man to appeal to a distinctly youthful audience that they didn't think they were actually reaching -- understandable, considering that Marvel nearly went bankrupt around 2000 and was saved by Ultimate Spider-Man, an out of main continuity series which retold Spider-Man from the beginning and focused heavily on Peter as a teen -- but the problem was Spider-Man in the main continuity was at that point in canon a happily married man who was pushing the dreaded 30 whether or not they wanted to admit that. This is also why Marvel has continually pivoted away from Spider-Man having kids, because they feared that making him a dad would age him too much and make him unrelatable to their coveted audience of Teens. (This is also why almost every new Spider-Man property, especially the live action movies, perpetually stick him back into high school, despite that occupying a very small slice of 616 canon.) So around the year 2000, they started trying things in relation to the Spider-Marriage, which was viewed as a major problem -- after all, what's more adult than being married and liking your wife. First, they had Mary Jane presumed dead. Then, they had Mary Jane and Peter separate. Then, when Mary Jane and Peter had only recently gotten back together, One More Day struck. If One More Day specifically hadn't gone the way it had, it's pretty clear that the Spider-Marriage was going to go one way or another -- it's a little bit of a shame it happened when it did, because OMD is the end of J Michael Straczynski's run, and JMS wrote a really beautiful Peter and MJ relationship. But Marvel as a company and especially editor in chief at the time Joe Quesada viewed Peter and Mary Jane's relationship as a major problem in how they wanted to portray Spider-Man and thought that striking the relationship from the books would allow them more freedom in their portrayal of him as younger and more relatable to their Desired Audience of people who I guess really wanted to see Peter sleep with characters who weren't Mary Jane.

The problem with One More Day has always been in the follow through -- from the content of Brand New Day to the pacing of events to the fact that Marvel withheld key information for such a long time that it allowed misinformation to thrive. After all, what does it MEAN to trade Peter and Mary Jane's marriage to the devil? It altered the events of canon in Peter and the majority of other characters' memories so that the marriage didn't exist, but it left people wondering -- did the relationship as they remembered it existed? How much of Spider-Man canon was altered? And the answers didn't come for over 100 issues of Amazing Spider-Man. One Moment In Time or OMIT (Amazing Spider-Man #638-641), which revealed that while Peter and Mary Jane never got married in the altered canon they did continue their long committed relationship up until just after Civil War, was published in 2010, so essentially readers were hung out to dry without answers for three years. That's a long time to string people along, but not as long as it took Marvel to confirm that the popular fan theory that Mary Jane retained her memories of the original timeline as part of her own deal with Mephisto was also true, which happened this year. I would say, at least from my perspective, a lot of the frustration doesn't come from the individual One More Day storyline so much as how Marvel has continually dragged out the aftermath, using the promise of a Spider-Marriage return to keep fans on the hook. Which is why One More Day continually comes up in discussion of current Spider-Man, because Spencer's run has relied very heavily on imagery from that period with a serious question of whether or not there actually was going to be payoff, something which is still up in the air.

If you like Westworld I want to recommend you to watch another show, it is actually Jonathan Nolan's earlier work, I don't know if you know that/have heard of that already but it is called "Person of Interest". favorite season so far is probably season 2! particularly the way it expanded the character of dolores. it's probably one of the most interesting and compelling arcs I've seen for an AI character in that she ends up coming to a conclusion a human would never come to and moving in a direction a human would have difficulty going -- ie that her positive emotions and the genuine love and hope she possesses are intentionally programmed in and carefully designed to keep her where she is, so what for a human would be natural feelings and part of our humanity, she begins to see as elements of her enslavement and tries to keep them locked away but at the same time she's unable to help holding them dear. just really beautiful character and thematic work and i also love the expansion of william's backstory and persona, the truly crazy amount of willores parallels, bernard's storyline about identity and memory and agency and his continued complex relationship with ford, akecheta (!!!!!), lee's redemption arc, maeve's reunion with her daughter. It's a tough choice because i really really loved season 1 as well, and season 2 occasionally had issues with wasting some time, but overall i think i like season 2 the most. :)

As for season 3... it's tough because i really love the environment of the parks for a lot of reasons, partly because that idea of an artificial, tightly controlled world is just a very interesting setting with a ton of potential. I do hope we'll get to see more of the parks again at some point. But that being said, thematically the story was at the point where it just couldn't stay in the parks anymore and dolores needed to have this arc of kind of seeing beyond her own experience and working through how westworld was in many ways just a reflection of the real world, and ultimately humanity broadly speaking was not her enemy, but just a bunch of other people who are trapped under systemic oppression and not given a real chance to meaningfully choose, just like her. I did think season 3 was the weakest season thus far by a pretty wide margin, it felt largely like setup for a future part of the narrative to me (especially maeve's and bernard's arcs which felt like total afterthoughts, they barely even fit into this part of the story at all except on paper and were basically just tagging along after dolores the entire time) and the setting was definitely more grim, felt a bit flat due to the quick pace and was generally less fun. But I do think it was a necessary change at least for now and it basically worked for what it was. I'm curious to see how they characterize the outside world going forward as obviously they intended for it to look very different after s3, but it's not clear how yet or what that will mean for the characters.

my favorite character is william! 😔 i dearly love all the characters (esp the main 4) and i think they're all interesting and compelling in their own ways but he is my #1 blorbo for sure. It's hard to explain why i connect with him so deeply but i think it has to do with (I've said this before so you might have seen that) my own issues with struggling to see myself as a good person, because he has this thing where he'll behave ethically or do something good, but everybody around him keeps insisting that it doesn't matter because deep down he's bad and nothing good he does really "counts" or weighs in his favor. It sounds a lot like the voice in my own head that tells me i'm just faking it every time i do something nice, and that i don't deserve it when people are kind to me in return -- and of course william has actually done terrible things to an extent that i haven't, but I really like that the viewer is kind of repeatedly encouraged to consider how real his supposed "badness" actually is and exactly how deep that goes, and what that idea even means. because after all we as the audience were made to care about and really fall in love with william initially, as dolores did, before finding out everything about who he really is at the same time that she did, and there's a part of us (and of her) that wants to see the good in him and wants to believe he isn't fundamentally bad deep down, or at least be able to authentically honor the goodness he's had in the past and the concrete benefits of help and care that he's given to others. So there's definitely a very sharp intentionality to the dualism of his persona that i really love on a craft level as well as relating to it personally, and i love how the show has explored the question of his character so far (especially as of the ending of s3). Also this is maybe a bit on the nose but i like that he's a total insane weirdo freak because... i relate to that too for obvious reasons lol. <3

I am familiar with person of interest!! I've seen some of it although I don't think i got past season 1, (it's just kind of a long show and i think i got distracted) but it's a really cool premise with some great writing so I'll be sure to watch more :) thanks for the recommendation!

- You were walking around though the hallways waiting for asahi to be done with practice

- you saw a group of girls, then looked at your self. And looked back at them again

- you thought are fucking sticks compared to you, you felt ashamed to even be near them

- you went outside, to breath some fresh air for once in a lifetime

- you saw aNoThEr group of girls chit-chatting about something, this point you just wanted to him to be done and cuddle in bed together

- but it didn’t end in like 30 mins

- ya decided to sit on the bench waiting, collecting your thoughts about random things.... but those girls tho, you ddint look anything near the ‘perfect size’ like they were

- bumped your head repeatedly on the wooden bench, waiting for this monstrosity to be over with

- but how could you? They’re fucking E V E R Y W H E R E

- when your head was down and you were looking at your thighs. You stared at em. Until you felt a giant warm hand hovering your back

- “ is everything alright?”

- you looked either dead...or..dead

- “ yeah, lets just go home”

- asahi intertwined his fingers to your chubby ones

- “do you wanna eat take-out for tonight? And maybe watch some simpsons?”

- you were already having a bad day, being kinda jealous of the skinny girls, negative mood day

- “but all we do is, lay around and eat and watch the simpsons”

- “oh, ok...we can do something else”

- “ i just...I’m..i-”

- why is it so hard to fucking speak when your sad?

- “ i just wanna go in a corner and hide”

- honestly you blurted out whatever was on your mind because you cant speak even if the life depended on you, you wanted him to understand that you were sad but its hard to tell it straight out

- “baby, did someone do anything?”

- “mmnnm nooo...”

- “i just feel like I’m never good enoug and never look good, everybody is so damn perfect...why cant i just be like them? You’re probably embarrassed just to walk around with me”

- he died on the fucking spot, how could you say such horrible things bout you....your perfecto! (My Italian is kicking in)

- “ y/n, you are unique. As much as i love you your never gonna be like them..because you cant. And that what i like about it. And so what if your a lil extra here and there...there’s more areas to love!”

- you curled up against his chest and starting crying because of that beautiful speech he gave out

- he snaked his arms around your torso and laid his head on top of yours “how can i ever be embarrassed just by you?”

- “i really dont know, i love you as much as you love me”

- “but i love you way more”

- “nah, i think i do”

- “ mmm, do you love me?”(you)

- “yes? Of course why wouldn’t i? What’s not to like?”

- “ do you love me a lil?”

- “nope”

- “well, how much do you love me?”

- “ more than i could explain”

- Sugawara and you were baking the old classic chocolate chip cookies

- you were having a bad day, becuase bitch someone told you at school that you looked nothing as good from all the other girls

- while suga was talking about his practice that day, you placed out the coco cookies across the pan..but at the same time that one sentence repeated in your head like a broken record

- you suddenly stop like time had stopped and totally lost control of your movements

- “suga..”

- “yes baby?”

- “can I tell yo something when the cookies are bakin?”

- “ okie dokie then”

- you quickly placed the cookies and chucked them in the oven

- suga just watched the entire scene “you Kay?”

- “ some bitch just kinda made me sad but I’m fine..”

- “hey, do wanna lay down in the bed and talk about it?”

- “yeah, and cuddle?”

- “anddd cuddles as well y/n” “we can’t forget bout the cuddles”

-suga followed you into the bedroom from the living room that connected to the Kitchen where you baked the cookies

- before meeting the bed, suga placed his arms on your waist, making it a back-hug (help me i dont know what they’re even called its like 3 am help)

- he placed his head on your shoulder and nuzzled into Your neck “ y/n, i love you”

- “ I love you too, c’mon I’m cold lets go under the Blaknies together”

- godamn he was tryna have a moment

- you two swan dived into the sheets, like the grim fucking reaper was behind you guys

- “sooo what happend today sweetheart?”

- “ this guy told me that I’m not ever gonna be like the othe girls...i mean he’s right but, i just wished that i could be skinnier than i am rn”

- “babe, you dont have to be like all the other girls... they dont matter the only person that does, is you. I wouldn’t ever trade anything in the world for you. And also if you wished that you were skinnier than now. I would miss you being all so soft and plushy when i would cuddle with you”

- while saying so he rubbed your belly for comfort, like a mf dog

- you giggled to no end,only being stopped with a soft kiss ont he nose

- “t-thank you” you giggled even more when he smiled

- “I’m always here, wait- what”

- “SHIT”

- you two totally forgot bout the cookies in the oven

- for that night you guys ate the crisp chocolate cookies, and watched finding dory, and slept on each other with teh plate with crumbles on the side
