Last Summer

Two peas in a pod, we are united as one. The only person that has stick to me utterly my life was Sadie. Us together, we are unstoppable no matter how hazardous the situation is. Last summer was a perfect example. Let me share some memories we had on our fun adventure :)

I know I mentioned all those wholesome confessions, but sometimes she can be a jerk. We both were trying to figure out the password to an ancient computer for the past days, until she got distracted by her 14th crush which she saw moments ago. She was so obsessed with him that she would lie to get with him, likewise hosting a puppet show even though she NEVER used puppets. It wasn't much of a big deal to me but for this case, it was because she stopped helping me crack the password. Instead, she worked on rehearsing her puppet show and used her other friends to help set up the set designs. I wanted to give up, never hearing that stupid warning of "Incorrect Password". So I let a stick figure man name Stitch "help" me, but he tricked me into having possession of my own body. I felt like a ghost soaring around air. I WAS a ghost. I was not aware of Stitch's plans, but he was about to destroy my favorite journal, which Sadie used as a prop for the show. But I couldn't because I was invisible. I tried to use my sock puppet persona to catch attentions of people like my uncle, Seth, and Sapphira. Though they thought they're seeing a living puppet which frightened them out. I tried to deliver the fact that I'm not in the real world anymore to them, but they'd only scream and run away. It was hopeless because there's nothing else to bring myself back to life. The least I can do is to watch Sadie's puppet show. I witness Stitch having a conversation with Sadie in my body, but Sadie seemed suspicious the way "I" acted. It was my chance. I tried to catch her attention as a sock puppet and she was fascinated to talk to a puppet. Once I talked to her, she immediately knew that it was me. I told her about the problem and how it led me here. She was inclined to save my journal and get my body back. She fought Stitch to get me back in my own self, and it was successful when we both teamed up against him

There are lots of fun memories made together. From finding out who the real founder of the city to saving the city. Captivating when we both were chased by Stitch who was enraged, after Sadie sprayed paint in his eyes. Very hilarious memory never forgotten. With her dramatic talks and goofy pranks, she will forever be in my heart.

Without her, I wouldn't be impelled to venture my passions and the reality. I could never be myself without her presence surrounding me. So thank you for always being by my side, when I needed the most.

Yes we've all heard aroace people complain about the 'you haven't met the right person' line. But to the idiots citing this as the reason aroace people 'aren't oppressed’: No, micro aggressions aren't what's oppressing us.

I could talk about corrective rape, but I'm not going to because that's not what scares me the most. The worst thing about being aroace (aromantic, and asexual to a certain extent) is that society is set up for couples.

Being aromantic is a crushing economic disadvantage. As a couple, you can save more. As a legal couple, you can borrow more. This puts Mortgages out of reach for a lot of aromantics. Adopting too. Although aro people can adopt, you must have a similar income to a couple, which again, rules out a lot of aros. Don't forget Immigration, spousal visas will never be an option for us.

Being poor and aro means you're denied housing, family, international movement, basically anything that allos of a similar income would get. And anything you can get, you'll have to jump through many more hoops for. But we can't fix this by legalising aro marriage, like we did for the gays. Until our society's economic system is completely revolutionised, we'll be waiting.

It's impossible to compare oppression. You can't objectively say which minority group has it worse and I really mean that. But also I'd rather be called slurs and hated by Christians all fucking day.
