How to open boxes

OK, maybe this is common knowledge that I am just slow to figure out...like that the cutlery basket lifts out of the dishwasher, or that all Froot Loops colors are the same flavor...but...just in case!

You know the boxes beauty stuff comes in? With the top folded over into a lid with flap tucked inside? And you try to open the flap carefully, but it rips or creases or you break a nail?

Slide something flat and thin (dinner knife/ scissors blade/ tweezers/ nail file) into the lid lengthwise and pull up gently. If it's a long lid, go from both sides. If it's a thick blade, squeeze a little to dome the lid.

Voilà! Open box lid with no damage, minimal swearing.
