Miyuki nodded at Nagito's orders and headed to the phone in Strawberry House, she started to call.. it was a long wait until she heard Chiaki's voice on the other side.
"Hello?" She asked.
"Hey Chiaki, we heard the announcement but me and the guys are stuck in Strawberry House. The doors are sealed and the elevator is broken.." She paused for a moment. "... Who was it?" She asked.
"... Mechamaru." Chiaki said with a sigh. "We'll investigate all we can here, see if Kazuichi can fix the elevator while you guys are there. Okay?" She sounded so sweet and hopeful, compared to Miyuki's worried voice.
Miyuki agreed and hung up, heading back and telling the boys the bad news.
Nagito nodded. He sort of expected it'd be the only missing one. The others around him muttered their grievances.
"It seems Nekomaru has moved on from the mortal realm and passed to the spirit realm. Perhaps my Devas can still communicate with him." Gundham commented, his hamsters crawling along his arms. Nagito doubted some hamsters could talk to a dead person, but he kept quiet about that.
"While Kazuichi is trying to fix the elevator, I guess we should just investigate what we can here. There are a few things I want to investigate on my own, but I'm sure there are things you can help with while I'm gone."
There wasn't much time left, so he'd now take his chance to investigate the final dead room. He was still a bit wary of it, but he didn't mind at all if he had to risk his life to be a stepping stone for hope. He doubted anyone else would go check it out, so who better than the guy who wasn't scared of dying?
"I'll see you once I'm done. Stay safe." Nagito smiled, waving her off as he headed away.
He approached the final dead room, standing in front of the daunting door.
Monomi appeared in front of him soon after.
"Oh, Monomi. I didn't know you were in here too." He said, surprised to see her.
"Of course I am! It's my duty as your teacher to protect all of my lovely students! I wouldn't leave you to that evil Monokuma." Monomi huffed. She seemed upset that he would assume otherwise.
Nagito gave her a look. Why would she only show up now then? She could at least help us get out. He thought bitterly.
"Anyways, I will be helping you through the final dead room! It has quite some difficult puzzles, so feel free to ask me any questions." Monomi said in a cheerful and sweet voice.
Nagito nodded. He doubted she'd deceive him, so he was glad to get any help he could.
He completed the final dead room after what felt like a few hours. He even managed to survive a game of Russian roulette with only one empty slot despite Monomi's protests about how dangerous it was.
Now... To the octogon. That's right. Where everything important was laying just beyond. Nagito pushed open the door and headed inside.
