Waiting for a voice in the wind
In this AU, Venti doesn't survive the events of the Cataclysm through a last ditch attempt to stop the Abyss, so Dvalin becomes Mondstadt's new archon.
Still, despite being a child of the wind and sky, erosion has begun taking its toll as time eats away the pages of history.

So with the confirmation that the Gnoses are made with stolen dragon Authority, is that gonna be added to your Archon Dvalin AU? 👀
Yeah, but the whole thing gets a bit more convoluted because while Venti did give Dvalin the gnosis just before dying, it's still very much connected to Celestia and tied to the Anemo Archon's throne there. Kinda like giving away an entire safe full of money but it's still very much In the Safe and you can't really get to it unless it's cracked open. Something like that
Another thing is that...Dvalin doesn't know the Thing about the gnosis, uses it once, and then just kinda abandons it somewhere in his super secret domain, straight up wants nothing to do with it anymore
Having it felt right in a way, but also wrong, and also sad. Because y'know, having it is also a reminder that Venti's gone and never coming back
That is, until he and Celio end up piecing together what's up. Eventually, Dvalin realizes why exactly Venti was so insistent in giving him the gnosis and declared him the successor, haphazardly as it was. Even if it did end up chaining him to Celestia, it also gave Dvalin a chance to take the authority from within without interference from another party Celestia would've chosen

SAGAU, but it's not the Creator SAGAU, not the "reader reincarnates into someone else", and definitely none of the cult things.
SAGAU, but it's where Reader isekais alongside the Traveler. A trio of hope in Tevyat — though neither the Traveler nor Paimon remember who you are, nor do they recognise the clothing of your person. You wake up a little later after the Traveler, after they fished out Paimon, and the Traveler is kind enough to not swarm you with questions. Of course, even if they were curious, YOU had to have been very confused. You didn't seem like you belonged even from where they come from.
SAGAU, where Reader's memories of Genshin are unparalleled. You have a copy of how everything should've went down, to the latest version (only, and only if you have played the game thoroughly). You recall how the Traveler would startle Dvalin when Venti would've tried to soothe him, so you tugged on their clothes and shushed both them and Paimon. You watched the Anemo Archon, in his disguise of a young man, speak softly to his companion, running his fingers through giant scales.. and the game still runs on the same script anyway. Dvalin roared in obvious rejection, and stormed off, while Venti stared straight at your hidden figures before he vanished.
— anyway, i might make this an actual au. if you have thoughts, send me asks! would love to hear it <3 (please read rules before interacting, ty!)

Oh look, What I have so far for my Cataclysm and pre-canon Mondstadt plot points for my ATWIAWL AU!
CATACLYSM
After defeating Durin, Celestia summons Barbatos to assassinate the Khaenri’an heir, to which Barbatos very reluctantly cooperates with, that is until they get there and discover a baby Kaeya.
Seeing his smile, Barbatos cannot bring themself to kill the baby and attempts to smuggle him away from the Cataclysm, but they are discovered by Morax and the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles.
Before all of this, Dainsleif was exiled (for reasons I haven’t really decided yet) from Khaenri’ah but came back during the Cataclysm hoping to save the people, but bumps into Barbatos. Dainsleif is tense at first until Barbatos hands Kaeya over to him and tells him that he must run before the Sustainer arrives.
The Sustainer then proceeds to arrive and Barbatos buys the two time as Dainsleif and Kaeya flee into the Abyss. However, Barbatos quickly loses the fight.
An offence like this would normally lead to the offender’s execution, however, the Sustainer is unable to kill Barbatos without severe consequences (all relating to Istaroth), but leaving them to their own devices is just as equally dangerous, so instead, the Heavenly Principles seal them away.
She still tells all the other archons that they killed Barbatos to dissuade them from also rebelling.
Before they’re able to seal them away, however, Barbatos transfers their powers over to the Thousand Winds, blessing them with power rivalling that of Liyue’s adepti so that after the deed is done and the Sustainer sets out to attack Mondstadt, the Wind Wisps are able to fight her off, sending her into a deep slumber after the Cataclysm weakened her.
PRE-CANON MONDSTADT
After they were blessed by Barbatos, the Wind Wisps essentially became divine protectors of Mondstadt, similar to the Four Winds and Liyue’s adepti. They’re also able to have human forms, identifiable by their white hair and anemo-coloured tips and eyes. They mostly stay in Mondstadt but are also known to live in other nations alongside people they decide to stick to.
Before they were sealed away, Barbatos was able to remove their soul and put it into the form of a Wind Wisp not too dissimilar from the rest of the Thousand Winds. Since their identity as Venti was compromised, Barbatos decided to craft a new identity under the name of Nye and use it to secretly remain in Teyvat.
The fact that Barbatos disguised as Nye is still around is a secret only the Thousand Winds are privy to, because if Celestia were to ever hear of Nye’s true identity, they could potentially awaken prematurely, and that is the last thing anyone wants.
Because they’re around, Venti is able to heal Dvalin of Durin’s poison, but because I’m also a sucker for the gay dragons, close to the present events of the game, Durin gets reincarnated into the most reckless being in all of Teyvat. Initially, Dvalin lets him be out of a sense of guilt from killing his past self, but then Durin (whose name might not be Durin anymore) gets himself in a sticky situation and Dvalin has to appear in his human form in order to get him out of that situation. Afterwards, Dvalin decides to stick around with Durin to ensure that he doesn’t get himself almost killed again.
In his human form, Dvalin has a fake anemo vision and I can imagine him either being a bow user or a catalyst user.
I like to think that Durin would have a cryo vision. I can imagine his weapon either being a claymore or a physical catalyst like Heizou or Wriothesley.
During the Ursa the Drake crisis, the presence of the wisps are able to save Crepus’ life. I haven’t decided yet if present-day Diluc still has the same personality he had before his father died in canon, or if he’s still grumpy. Another fic that inspired me was “A Bard’s Ambition” by OG_CaleHenituse where even though Venti saved Crepus’ life, it wasn’t without people thinking he had died when he went missing which still results in Diluc’s fallout with the knights.

| ◆ ch.8.1 ⑊ (probably not) omniscient.
⬙⤠ masterlist ⤝⬙
◇ a/n ◇ we don't do imposter au here but we do have imposter syndrome :) honestly, relatable i also had to split this into two parts since it was getting too long, apologies!
Tumblr media
to say that you're shocked after being told that you were asleep for twenty whole days was an understatement.
you weren't that tired, were you? when you went to bed that night after somehow helping to rectify the disaster that has befallen inazuma, you felt… normal. well, a tad tired perhaps, like you just had a busy day at work. and when you woke up,  it felt like you managed to get a good eight hours of sleep.
eight hours…
how long was 'a day' in-game translated to earth time again?
"[name]~! you're awake!!"
you definitely weren't expecting anyone to be in the same room as you, especially since said room is located in a place that normal intruders would find hard to sneak in unnoticed. but you would have recognized that voice anywhere.
"what is it with you archons always appearing out of nowhere!"
barbatos blinks owlishly and gives you an innocent look, "oh… you're not happy to see me?"
"wha- i didn't say that," you grab onto your other arm and shift on your feet, "i was just surprised, is all. next time, can you just, i dunno, knock before entering a room?"
"okay!" he beams and steps closer to your side, angling his upper body diagonally in a cutesy manner as his arms settle behind his back, "sooo, i was thinking, since you look all healthy and energized now… how do you feel about going to a festival?"
"a… festival?"
"mmhm!"
"i mean, i would be more than happy to, but-"
"great! then, let's go! our ride is here!"
"what-"
you hear a commotion outside and instinctively release a yelp as the door towards the balcony of tenshukaku opens with a loud slam. a heavy gust of wind attacks the makeshift bedroom that beel had fashioned for you, knocking books and vases and various things off their places. it's so strong you had to close your eyes to prevent it from drying out, and you hear familiar laughter in your ears before a sense of weightlessness washes over your entire body. before you can fully understand what was happening, you come face to face with a familiar-looking dragon.
dvalin bows upon meeting your gaze, his low, rumbly voice echoing loudly even amidst the soldiers trying to make sense of the scene. his scales have somehow lost their luster, and you can see that a few of them are chipped off his back, but his magnificent form remains unchanging. in the corner of your eyes, you see beel appearing on the balcony, her weapon slowly dematerializing behind her as she shoots barbatos an unimpressed look.
"and so we meet again, eminent one."
"h-hi, dvalin… so, uh, i'm guessing you're our 'ride'?"
"it would be my honor to escort you to the city of freedom."
"right, right, away with the formality, let us depart at once before the jealous shogun decides to attack us for disturbing inazuma's peace!"
one playful giggle later, you feel the wind carry you onto the dragon's back. as soon as you're sitting securely right in front of the anemo archon, dvalin's wings flap away from tenshukaku. you barely catch a glimpse of baal bowing towards you before your whole vision shifts into the blue sky. it's a wonder how you're managing to not topple off the dragon's back when he's literally moving straight up into the clouds, but you suspect barbatos has something to do with it. besides, the arms wrapped around you are certainly helping with your anxiety of freefalling into the hard ground of inazuma.
"[name], are you having fun?"
the close proximity of his voice causes your cheeks to warm up, but you nod, not trusting that your voice would be audible over the loud wind whipping around the two of you as you soar through the sky at unimaginable speed.
"don't worry, you're safe with me! i am, afterall, the one who controls the wind!"
"r-right…"
barbatos hums a rather cheerful tune, and you smile as his voice enters your ears. it sounds nostalgic… no, very familiar… you think it sounds just like one of the soundtracks that play in mondstadt, but the absence of any instruments whatsoever makes you doubt yourself.
but how on earth would barbatos know of the songs playing in the background of the game itself?
in the first place, what is the game anyway? which one of the worlds you know is the actual reality? what's going to happen when you finish your 'task' here?
what if you're just crazy and this is all just a long fever dream?
"[name]? you're shivering, are you cold?"
"huh?! oh…. y-yeah, just a little…"
a flutter of cloth later, you find barbatos' cape wrapped over you, his bluish-green eyes shining with mirth as he takes a good look at your form in the new ensemble.
"ehe~ you look adorable wearing this! keep it on, okay? don't want you to catch a cold~"
can you catch a cold in the first place? you decide to not ask him such a trivial question, and instead choose the more important ones after voicing your gratitude.
"are we going to mondstadt?"
"ding ding ding! yes, we are!" the bard snaps his fingers and beams cheerfully at you, "with dvalin's speed, it shouldn't take us that long till we reach mondstadt! i assure you, you're going to have so much fun!!"
"is it really okay though? i mean…," you trail off, remembering the state of the city the last you saw it in-game. "is… is jean okay?"
"oh, the grand master? yes, she's very excited to meet you! she is one of the organizers who worked hard to make the festival runs smoothly! oh, of course, i helped too! praise me, praise me!"
you smile at the youthful enthusiasm in his eyes and decide to indulge him just a little, since he's acting rather adorably, "thank you, barbatos. you've worked hard."
"ehe~ aw, shucks, [name], you're making me feel embarrassed with such sincerity…"
a thought suddenly comes to your mind, and it seems like the topic should be properly discussed before you reach the city itself. therefore, you ask with a gentle tone, "um- should i call you venti or barbatos? i know you want to maintain your venti identity in front of the mondstadt population…"
"aha, you're as considerate as ever, [name]~ but don't worry, you can call me either way.... i suppose you didn't know this, but us archons had to take the lead in fighting back and protecting our people, lest what we've built so far be burnt to ashes along with ourselves."
the solemn expression on his face tells you of the grievances he has endured thus far. just as in the game, his love for mondstadt shines through at the direst times, and for some reason you feel... proud, of him. your hand subconsciously comes up to pat barbatos' head, and his look switches to one of wonder and surprise, before finally morphing to glee.
"hehe! well the good thing is that i can freely accompany you everywhere, since i clearly hold that privilege among others!"
"just don't get too drunk," you reprimand him.
"dear me, of course not! since you're here now, i'd rather be able to remember my time with you when i wake up tomorrow!"
venti's hum enters your ears once again before you can even comment on his exclamation. he looks so happy and content now, that you don't dare to pursue the topic further.
thankfully, you didn't have to stew in the uncomfortable fogginess inside your chest for too long. a few moments later, dvalin suddenly starts diving downwards into the clouds. your vision fills with white mists, the rapidly dropping altitude making an uncomfortable sensation within your stomach. eyes squeezed shut, you try to tell yourself to not vomit and focus on the cheery humming coming right from behind you.
"[name], are you okay?"
"just... a little nauseous...."
"i see. don't worry, we'll be there soon, okay?"
you nod, not trusting your throat to not gag while answering. your surroundings continue to sway like the way fervent turbulence shakes a whole airplane for what felt like years - until suddenly, it stops.
"here we are!"
the sunlight enters your eyes as they flutter open, blinding you momentarily and making tears gather on your underlines. it takes you a few blinks to readjust, and the familiar sight of mondstadt's walls greets you.
it's beautiful.
sure, if you look closer, you can see broken parts on the castle-like walls that surround the city. the greenery that used to thrive around the city's perimeters has dwindled into a mere fraction of what it used to be. the massive anemo archon statue is unpolished with several noticeable cracks running down its sides, and if you look closer, you can see countless other imperfections present throughout the place.
but still, it is beautiful.
because you can feel the joy and hope across the whole town. people are smiling and pointing excitedly toward the dragon, children jumping and trying to climb onto nearby crates so they can stand on higher ground.
in the distance, you see familiar golden-colored wings, and your lips move before you can hold them back.
"aether, lumine!!"
the twins perk up in unison when they hear you shouting. with a similar set of giddy smiles, they wave back, and they wait until dvalin descends low enough to the same level of elevation as their floating forms, before giving you a short bow and a casual salute respectively.
"hello! great to finally get to meet this teyvat's creator."
"aether, you're supposed to be a little more… polite, i think."
"oh! er- sorry- i mean- ahem. my apologies…"
you shake your head, arms waving almost wildly to emphasize your words further, "no, please, casual's good- actually, i would like it if you don't act so formal! just call me [name], okay?"
"oh- really? well then, nice to meet you, [name]!"
"be polite, she said. don't look too eager, she said- ow! hey!"
you laugh at the siblings' interaction, so free and almost... endearing, compared to how they were in most of the game's storyline. unbeknownst to you, the tree leaves and dandelions sway towards peals of laughter spilling from your lips. nature stirs. the wind whistles through the blade of newly grown grasses. barbatos watches silently with a smile as his dominion starts to reinvigorate in your presence, slowly but surely.
"will you come to the festival, [name]? it'll be fun!" lumine asks, hope shining in her bright eyes.
aether nods and gestures towards the townspeople, who are all watching the interaction closely, "everyone's been looking forward to meeting you!"
the hope in all these nonplayable characters- no, people's eyes... you can't deny that it feels... burdensome. frightening, even.
have they heard of what you did in inazuma? were they expecting you to do some sort of miracle here, too? what if you disappoint them when you tell them you have no recollection of being this all-knowing, holy being that you were supposed to be? what if they find out that you have no idea how or what you're doing here, that you have neglected their wellbeing, that you hadn't even realized they were suffering? real people. actual people. breathing, living beings-
"it'll be okay."
you turn towards barbatos-
no...
before you stand a smiling bard, his two-toned eyes looking at you with a softness that seems to ease the storm swirling inside your chest.
"venti..."
"think of it as accompanying me to a festival! a date with mondstadt's number one bard- now, isn't that a privilege?"
a familiar boy. a familiar smile. a familiar sense of casualty and freedom.
just for this small moment, you felt seen as [name]. just [name], and not the primordial one, the creator, the sovereign, the almighty.
you inhale shakily and nod, giving him an appreciative smile. turning to the twins next, you repeat the gesture, adding with a steady voice, "i'll go. i want to meet everyone too."
"great!" if the two realized something from the exchange, they certainly are covering it up well. the both of them choose to simply smile and extend their hands, and you take each on either side. having nothing under your feet is a terrifying feeling, but you somehow manage to float down onto the stone pavements in a gentle motion, all thanks to the siblings and barbatos' help.
"alright, move on, people! the festival isn't going to run itself!" venti chides, and to your complete and utter shock, the people of mondstadt complies, laughing and giving one last wave or a bow in your direction before continuing on their paths - as if the whole spectacle hadn't happened in the first place.
lumine gives you an excited smile, stars twinkling in her eyes as she asks you in an inquisitive but still upbeat tone.
"so, [name], have you had breakfast?"

(FFD au) I wonder how deca adopting nb would change the course of the rebellion. it’s obvious that there would be disruptions, but would nb escape/leave/be “saved” and the rebellion would pick back up again, the course of events being the same except pushed back a few years? or would things have been changed too much, perhaps the rebellion would dissipate, or it could have a new leader, or something else entirely? In the end, would deca, amos, and nb still end up dead or would they prevail somehow? would venti become the anemo archon, or would someone else get that title? Would deca ultimately show the same compassion towards the citizens of (old) mondstadt as he does towards nb, or would he remain just as cruel?
The rebellion dies the moment Carmen falls into Decarabian's hands. As soon as the announcement goes out that Deca has a kid and that kid is Carmen, then he might as well have a bounty on his head from angry and betrayed rebels.
They don't know him. They know him as their leader, but he never talks about his past life. He never shares anything with anyone (like a certain RHW), and he dose it in such a way that you never question it. It's like how present-day Venti doesn't get asked on where he is from. The people of Mondstadt don't look into their friends that well and in this case it's biting them back.
Imagine being them. Having hope and dreams all fueled by this rebellion. And the person that whispered and tempted you to fall is the KID the PUPPET of the tyrant? It's heartbreaking! And the kid has stopped denying it!
There is no other option for them. They were lied to. That kid is probs telling Decarabian the home addresses and family locations of each and every member!! He is a threat to the remaining rebels.
Someone needs to take out the threat.
Thus after centuries, (My hc is that the gods can make people long-lived (except when killed) (like a certain water person)(as long as it's a curse- the person is suffering from it) ), Decarabian becomes the anemo archon with his loving family right beside him
Okay so what does this do :
Lets say that FINNALLY after so long of asking Deca lowers the wind gales now he has the gnosis.
Sunny skies are back in Mondstadt, but the mountains are still rugged and harsh
Deca also caused a lot of wolves to...... There is No Way is he co-ruling with his ex Andrius
The sky is so blue but to NB its as grey as the stone walls. It's not special anymore. He is tired. So so so tired...
Big change to the world of Teyvat : No wind gliders
yeah since that is a Venti Staple, there are no wind gliders and probs a whole bunch more adventures being .... oof.
Dvalin only lives because I think it would be funny if NB and Venti were excited over a DRAGON and Deca was like "fine. >:/ "
The witches circle challenges Deca and he might die. Alice proceeds to make out sloppy style with Amos and makes Venti the new anemo archon /hj

Holy shit I was just thinking about what would have happened in the Mondstadt archon quest if the traveler hadn’t been there since it was their ability to purify abyss corruption that made it possible to save Dvalin- I think I just created a new au!
So basically we know the knights didn’t have a lot of options during that time. They were trying not to use force against Dvalin since he’s one of the four winds, and also due to the pressure from the fatui who saw the Stormterror issue as an opportunity to force Mondstadt into an alliance like they had with the rest of Teyvat. The only other option for the knights was to do nothing and hope the situation resolved itself, that obviously wasn’t going to happen.
Meanwhile you had Venti. Many people like to claim that Venti didn’t do anything to help the Stormterror crisis until the very end, but in reality he was trying to help Dvalin since the very beginning when the traveler first saw him in the woods.
So after being made aware of the whole Stormterror problem, Venti summons Dvalin in the woods and sees him for the first time since 500 years ago when he was first poisoned. The traveler isn’t there to startle Dvalin away but it still doesn’t go very well because corrupted Dvalin doesn’t listen to Venti since his feelings of betrayal of not seeing Venti for centuries have been abused and amplified by the abyss order. Dvalin eventually storms off and Venti didn’t really make any progress with him, but at least he got to see him again.
Venti moves on to plan b like he did in the game and steals the holy lyre. Restoring the lyre’s anemo power in the game was done through using purified teardrop crystals, which was only possible through the traveler’s purification ability, but Venti’s the anemo archon I’m sure he could manage to infuse it with anemo on his own, especially back when he still had his gnosis.
So Venti takes the lyre to Starsnatch Cliff and tries to use it to calm and resonate with Dvalin like he used to. The scene plays out pretty much like it did in the game. Venti tries to show Dvalin that he’s here to help and see what he can do for him. The abyss mage appears and manipulates Dvalin into thinking that Venti is here to kill him. He lashes out then flys away as Venti looks out at his from fading into the distance, heartbroken at seeing his friend in such a state.
But this is where it gets interesting. This time Venti has no trump card after the lyre. He has no strange, starborn traveler from afar to help him cure Dvalin of his corruption. He’s running out of options and he’s getting desperate.
Venti can’t save Dvalin, but he can save Mondstadt. If he waits, the knights will have no choice but to slay him. Venti has to confront and seal away Dvalin the way Morax did with Azhdaha. But the thing is, when Azhdaha was sealed away the first time he wasn’t completely eroded yet and was voluntarily imprisoned, Dvalin on the other hand is completely corrupted, it seems there’s nothing left of him. Venti has to fight him. And so he fights Dvalin, trying desperately not to harm him and only weaken him. When Dvalin is down, Venti lays by his side, tears pouring from his eyes, frantically whispering pleas for Dvalin to forgive him. How he’s sorry that it came to this. How it’s his fault that Dvalin spent all those years alone and in pain and succumbed to the abyss order. And most of all he tells Dvalin how much he loves him. How special he’s been ever since he found Dvalin as a baby and raised him alongside his young nation. How even if Mondstadt turns it’s back on Dvalin, Venti’s image of him won’t waver. Even if the people’s memories of him fade over time, Venti will keep him present in his ballads, and he won’t give up on hoping that one day Dvalin can be saved, and the two of them can be reunited once more.
And with that, he places the seal, and severs Dvalin from his world indefinitely.

Traveler: *kills the EOS on the annoying to get to island*
*reader pops out like an egg*
Traveler: what the-
Venti, appearing from nowhere: wait, (Y/N)?!?! Is that why you missed our date 400 years ago!?!
DAMN YOU HAVE BIG BRAIN.
Reader popping out of an EoS like it was an egg. What if that's how they're born? 😳 shdhjdjd Thank you for that damn wonderful delicious idea. ₍₍ ◝( ゚∀ ゚ )◟ ⁾⁾
Also naming this as Eye of Storm AU aka an AU where you're isekai'd and reborn as an Eye of the Storm and decide to be a disciple of Barbatos. You appear maybe 4 years before the Traveller arrives + Mondstadt archon quest and one (1) year before Venti wakes up and arrives at Mondstadt (an estimate, since he won 3 times in a row as Most Popular Bard, that should make it 3 years).
It should give you 4 years to formally establish yourself as a disciple and prepare for the archon quest, or maybe change the past to look for Dvalin and help him out?
...After all, as a more advanced elemental lifeform, a being born from the purest and highest quality anemo energy, it should be enough for you to get through hilichurls and the abyss order, right?
Or should you stay put? Because if it weren't for the Dvalin issue, the Traveller would never be able to meet Venti, since Venti would never need their help anymore with the crisis and so, would keep his identity hidden.
Welp. You have four years to decide. However, first things first. You must gain the trust of the entire nation.
And so begins your journey in Teyvat.

curious about your wisp archon au
Basically, Barbatos chose not to take on a human form when he became an archon. The people of Mondstadt ended up building statues of the nameless bard instead which, after a lot of the records about Mondstadt's history were destroyed, most people assume are of Barbatos.
The only ones who know what he actually looks like are the other archons & other anemo beings like Dvalin.

I like the villain au a lot, but I wanna really read something about regular sagau tracking down a wandering reader with yandere-level ferocity and more benevolent(or selfish) intentions. Assuming reader lands in Mondstadt, Venti and Kaeya? I think they'd notice something off first and start hunting.
YANDERE FINDING GOD!DARLING FIRST // ft. Venti and Kaeya

Warnings: yandere behavior, kidnapping
We loved making this, yanderes are a guilty pleasure of both of ours lol. Hope you enjoy~

Venti
Venti knows the moment you appear in Mondstadt because of the winds. They are silent, not talking to them like they used to, and when he tries to order them around, they ignore him completely. It's after he thinks about the last time he's felt his god's presence around him does he realize - it must be your doing. You've come to his city! But why aren't you here now? Why has he yet to see you?
Despite his best efforts to take back control of the winds, they refuse to give up your location. Only after weeks of trying and looking for you does he realize that he can only ever not control them in certain areas. If he has to take a guess, it's because they are keeping you safe.
He doesn't mind it that much. If the winds keep you safe, you're protected and no one else, especially people that want to harm you, can find you that way! It's just really mean of them to keep you hidden from him. He's the Anemo Archon and the God of Freedom. He only wants to meet you!
It has always been his dream to show you his pride, the one nation that learnt to live without a god centuries ago. Knowing that his god has been watching not only him, but even some of the citizens made him incredibly happy. It's only natural then that he'd want to face you directly, right?
It didn't take him long to find you as you were in the Mondstat region admiring the natural beauty of the land. When he first saw your figure in the distance, his heart burst with overwhelming emotions. Admiration, happiness, passion, the absolute need to be close to you, he could barely contain himself when he caught up to you.
His joyful face and voice surprised you when he popped up suddenly, but as he started speaking about worshipping, shrines and you being his oh so wonderful god. It started to scare you a bit.
Venti kept rambling while touching you all over, your face, hair, arms and even going down to your legs. Admiring every single bit of you that he could now touch with his bare hands. He didn't take notice if your suddenly frightened gaze or your tense posture. The only thing that mattered was your skin touching his.
He had you right here in his arms, even as you try to stammer out for him to let go, to let you breathe. He overtook your voice by speaking louder about all the things he wants to do with you, take you on a tour through the city, go visit Dvalin, go to Starsnatch's peak and look at the night sky.
But just with him. Only with him. He doesn't want anyone else to feel your soft skin against theirs and he will make sure of it. Venti will get on his knees and cling to your legs if that means you won't leave his side, he will say how sad it makes him feel and how he just cant handle not being around you, for you soothe his pain.
That's right, you know of his past so surely you know how much it hurt him, you won't leave him right?
Kaeya
Kaeya, unlike Venti, didn't notice your arrival immediately. He's aware of you as a celestial being as he was one of your first vessels, but he didn't have any help to feel your presence.
To him, you guiding him was like a drug. Whenever your presence enveloped him, he'd be all too happy to let go of his control. He allowed you to do whatever with his body; he's all yours. You were a drug to him, even more so than alcohol. So when you left and never came back one day, he started to grow increasingly frustrated. He visited the tavern more and more and picked fights over the stupidest things.
It's only when he noticed Venti's disappearances and spied on him looking for something that he knew something's off. He followws the bard throughout the night, not knowing what he was looking for but if it's something that the ever so open bard had to sneak around about, the cavalry captain was surely curious.
It appeared that the bard had no idea where this thing was that he was searching for, going back and forth checking places, wondering around seemingly in a hurry, Kaeya was growing frustrated at this nonsense. Losing your presence already had him on edge but now he's dealing with a bard running around looking like a chicken who's lost its head.
Kaeya was about to leave and head back to the city, tired from Venti's antics, until he spotted a familiar figure in the distance looking just as lost. His eye narrowed before recognizing you, the very being who makes him crazy, the one that he craves so much.
His heart dropped seeing you, and with Venti nearby there was no doubt he knew you were here. Kaeya made the quick decision to go up to you and drag you away before Venti could spot you, youe sputtering almost alarming the bard of your presence if it wasn't for Kaeya covering your mouth.
Kaeya almost felt regret for his actions if you didn't drive him so crazy, if only you weren't so addicting. He felt nothing but peace as he knocked you out and took you further away, heading into the depths of the forest.
As you awoke you noticed you were tied up, your hand and legs bound by thick rope. Your body was laying against a surprisingly soft surface, the mattress was plush but devoid of any pillows or blankets. Footsteps entered the room causing you to look up only to see Kaeya looking down at you.
He stepped closer to you as you began to freak out, your body flailing in a desperate attempt to escape the tight rope. You began to shout at him, asking him why he tied you up but he said nothing in response.
Bringing a hand up Kaeya began stroking your face with his thumb, slowly tracing over your lips, he only smiled at your attempt to bite his finger. You were like a kitten that got its freedom taken away.
"To have you here with me in the flesh..." he began, voice dropping low in a hushed whisper. "..nothing would ever make me feel as good as you do. Not the alcohol, nor anything else. Just you."
Kaeya leaned down and pressed a loving kiss to your forehead. "Don't worry, love. Soon you'll come to understand that this was for the best."
More for him than for you. But you didn't have to know that.

Act One - Agony
All it took for all of the citizens of Tevyat, was to step into their Homeland.
You, who adored the game ever since you've gotten the game. Became an enemy to the eyes of the people.
"Please, I didn't know!" you pleaded, hands shaking as they were clasped in front of your chest as you pleaded mercy.
Jean, the acting-grandmaster, merely eyed you like you were the scum of the Earth. Maybe you were, in their eyes.
"You dare claim innocence wretch? You have broken Tevyats sacred laws regarding our sovereign. And for that, you're sentence is execution.
"No, Jean! Please, I didn't know I looked like your god! I can change! Please give me another chance!" You cried, scrabbling to the blonde.
Your injuries had left you unable to walk, the running, the arrows and the slices, all the damage left intense scars to the point it ruined the muscles.
Jean backed away, a clear look of disgust resting on her face, "Do not touch me vermin. Repent for your sins in front of our god."
There, standing amongst the crowds was a majority of the characters, watching.
However, standing at the front of the statue that looks exactly like you, were the Archons.
Raiden Shogun was standing at the side, however it was Ei that was standing next to the retired Geo Archon with the Anemo Archon at the other side.
"No, no, no, is it wrong to look like someone from just genetics alone!?" You looked around, looking at everyone in the eyes.
Ayaka merely closed her eyes and unfolded her fan.
Amber watched with narrow eyes.
The Traveler was no where in sight.
Ningguang had her arms crossed, her expression blank, but her eyes held distain towards you.
Thoma, who was beside Ayaka, continued to hold his small smile, but his eyes were frigid.
Diluc had his jaw clenched, his blood red eyes glowing with anger, directed at you.
Strangely, Albedo and Kaeya were also not there.
"Anyone could look like your god!" you tried to reason them, hoping to at least gain someone on your side.
"Enough! We do not have any more time for this nonsense. The sooner we deal with it, the sooner our god would be pleased." Ei ordered sharply.
All resolve within you broke.
You screamed, shrieked, struggled, going into hysterics as you were dragged closer to the statue, your injured legs leaving more blood behind.
"Please.. Please.. Please..." You wept, continuing to ask for mercy, but it was all in vain.
Zhongli stood at the side, holding an executioners axe. His expression was dark in contrast to his bright gleaming eyes.
You always saw them on the screen, amongst all characters, Zhongli had the prettiest eyes.
But now, they looked at you with scorn.
"It is time." His deep voice rumbled out.
Raising the axe above his head, the blade then made it's decent towards your neck.
Before it made contact with your flesh, an ear piercing shriek was heard from a distance, "...Dvalin?" Venti spoke out in a hushed tone, but it caught Ei's and Zhongli's attention.
The sky dragon came flying, and then landed, taking you in his jaw gently, while a voice rumbled, "You dare... CALL OUR GOD A FAKE!?" the ground shook in rage as Azdaha's voice came from below.
"No, this can't be, he shouldn't be able to-" "Break free? Sorry to.. Burst your bubble Morax.." A sickeningly sweet voice cooed, a figure appearing on Dvalin's back.
"Osial..." Zhongli growled, grounding himself.
"I'd say sorry about crashing the ceremony, but that'd be a lie. Thankfully we were released from our prisons thanks to your dearly treasured outlanders.." Osial gestured towards a small group of people.
"Klee?" Jean's voice called out towards the child that was with the group.
The girl bit her lips, tears welling in her eyes while her tint hands gripped her dress, "Why did you hurt our god? Why did you try to force them away?" Klee's voice broke.
"Klee, you're not supposed to be here, Albedo, Kaeya, Honerary Knight, explain yourselves!"
Jean tried to bring Klee back to her side, but ultimately failed when Albedo held Klee's shoulder, who cried and turned away from her old caretaker.
"I cannot sit still and allow you all to kill them, not when our god is right there." Kaeya spoke, his usual mirthful tone gone.
"Impossible, our god hasn't returned in millennia! How can you prove this!?" Diluc shouted.
He should've killed the rat while he had the chance.
"Because I am from Khanri'ah who was the closest to our god!" and then a battle broke out.
Various monsters broke in and sided with the 'imposter' while Dvalin and Osial went out into the sky whilst then others were occupied.
Klee and Albedo made their way out to avoid any damage to themselves as, Klee is a child, and Albedo is to nurse you back to health.
𖣔┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ꕥ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈𖣔
You woke up, clutching the sheets tightly, staring up at an unfamiliar ceiling.
Where were you?
"You're grace! You're awake!" A small, familiar child-like voice exclaimed and a small red figure came onto the bed and peered at you.
" ..Klee..?" Your voice cracked, blinking several times to rid of the blurriness, the child beamed brightly, "I'll go tell Albedo you're awake!" And with that, Klee hurried out of the room.
You continued to stare at the ceiling before slowly sitting up, wincing then threw the blanket off yourself.
Your legs were healed, but still carried scars, you hand several bandages around your body too. You moved to the edge of the bed, place the toes of your feet on the cool wooden surface, taking a deep breath, you pushed yourself off the bed.
When you fully stood, a sharp jagged pain shot through your legs, causing you to collapse.
A broken cry escaped you.
Why did you come here?
Why are you even in this stupid game if they were going to treat you like this.
The door opened and Albedo slowly entered the room with a clipboard and papers, writing on them before looking up.
He dropped everything he was doing and rushed to you, "You grace!" He exclaimed, worry was evident in his face and tone. He gingerly lifted you up and placed you back on the bed.
"Why.." You uttered out as you watched him fret over you, "why did you save me?" You questioned.
He paused, before slowly taking your hand in his own, "Because you're our god."

You ever just imagine Dyvalin getting a flower necklace by Mondstat? bc I just want him to be accepted by the people he wanted to accept him. He may not be human but he is a Mondstater in my heart
Dvalin's first experiences being yelled at and scorned when he first came down as a young child, and then over the years people became more amicable towards him, but there's still quite a distance between them as Dvalin, being a close friend of the Anemo Archon and one of the Four Winds, is still a sort of figure of worship
The wild thing is that, in the AU, Dvalin becoming a god ended up bringing him closer to mortals more than anything Venti had tried
It's something like what happened in this post about the ghosts and spirits post-Cataclysm. Mondstadters basically saw what Venti had; someone just as lost, just as scared like them but still trying their best
Anyway YES, Dvalin would indeed get a necklace of flowers! In one of my notes that I cannot for the life of me find, some of the kids post-Cataclysm tried to give Dvalin a bunch of flowers because they felt like he "needed them more than someone that won't even get to enjoy the spring anymore."

Those Who Rule The Mortal World
Summary: An au where the non-archon boys are archons! The reader has the traveler’s role in this. ^_^
*Scaramouche is being his entitled self in here and I apologize
Tumblr media
Diluc
• Mondstadt has its rumors about the Darknight Hero, valiantly protecting the people from the shadows. It also, of course, has ancient legends of the Pyro Archon who drove away the old aristocracy with brimstone and fire.
• Who would've guessed that those stories overlapped?
• Much like Morax, Diluc keeps to himself in his game of playing human, pretending to be a mere bartender at the Angel's Share- at least by day. He mixes drinks without a word as the little green bard sings of how the nation's archon set the Lawrence Clan leader's wig aflame, while his patrons roar with laughter.
• His companion is a falcon who never leaves his side, and seems to sigh in exasperation when he discusses the Knights of Favonius (he'll hold back his complaints, at least for Vennessa's sake).
• Dvalin, Stormterror, calls to mind a different kind of storm- forest fires that decimate trees and grasslands, burning away in a haze of orange and red- but when it's over, nature can regrow anew.
• That is what Diluc believes when he faces his old friend again, when the fire-breathing dragon is under the sway of the abyss. He reaches out his hand the way he did so long ago, and trusts that their once-neglected bond can thrive again.
• And, thanks to your help, it does.
• Barbatos of living fire has been tending to this nation with a silent, protective hand, to the point where the residents joke that his absence isn't caused by laziness, but simply shyness. He's resigned to the teasing and his duty, accepting that it'll last forever.
• Sadly, it all comes to an end when Diluc lays waste to the Fatui that challenged the Darknight Hero, only for La Signora to rip his powers away in retribution.
• Even so, he refuses to let this stand in his way of preserving the city's freedom, and tells you this as you watch the city together from afar, the wind making the leaves sigh and flutter.
Your gaze is met by bloodred eyes, looking back at you with a powerful intensity. Diluc crosses his arms. "You think I cannot watch over my nation, now that my gnosis is gone? Hmph. I'll defend Mondstadt with my last breath." And you too, rests on his lips- but that, he cannot say just yet.
Tumblr media
Xiao
• When the day comes to relinquish his godhood, he's all too eager to say yes.
• Centuries before, he shaped Liyue with an expert roll of his fingers- the way a sculptor lovingly builds with clay- and blew the clouds that hang above the land in place with a delicate breath. It's said it's because of his guiding hand that Liyue has the airy, graceful aura it has today.
• But what great civilizations haven't been built on blood? On death? On a terrible price that must be paid by all?
• He is their respected Anemo archon. He is also a scary story to keep children in bed at night. It all depends on which mask Xiao chooses to don- the youthful, porcelain face of a human man, or the scowling visage of a demon carved in jade.
• And though the disguise can be locked away, hidden from prying eyes, the memories will never leave him. He's haunted by the things he's done. The endless karmic debt he's accumulated drags him down like a sinking ship.
• Indeed, the God of Contracts not paying the price for something so great is simply unimaginable.
• But what if he was relieved of his duties? What if he no longer held sway over contracts- what then?
• He is uninterested in a grand scheme to test the people, seeing it as a complete insult to the intelligence of Liyue. But, at his adeptus Zhongli's insistence, he stages one nevertheless.
• Xiao is torn as he sees the people cry out in terror. When his old enemy resurfaces, even as a shadow of his former self, it's all he can do not to grab his weapon and fight. But in the end, Liyue proves itself, like a child that's finally grown, showing that it no longer needs his help.
• The contract to end all contracts is sealed, and Xiao breathes for the first time in hundreds of years.
"It is as they say," he said, the wind tousling his hair. In the golden light of the setting sun, he still looks immeasurably divine. And so do you, in Xiao's eyes. "The days of gods and adepti are over. Perhaps now, I... I can rest."
Tumblr media
Scaramouche
• This INSUFFERABLE bastard
• Little is known about Baal, the god of eternity. His stories all seem to obscure him behind a thin, silken screen, with only a lithe and shadowy figure watching balefully from behind it. But all accounts agree on two things: his distant, glasslike beauty-
• And his horrible, capricious temper.
• The route to Inazuma is made even more difficult, if that's even possible- no one enters, no one leaves, without lightning slashing their ships in half.
• And while the people suffer and fight for their lives, he sits in his gilded palace, calling for more dancers, more music, more feasts, gloating about his perfect form that will never deteriorate or die.
• Nevertheless, you and your team arrive in the closed-off lands with a bang, and he is less than pleased. The samurai assigned to guard the borders are all put to death, but he cannot rest until the interlopers themselves are brought to him to be punished as well.
• Read: his pride cannot rest.
• His remaining forces, out of desperation, manage to capture you- unaware that it's all part of a plan you created with the rebellion leaders. The archon holds a spectacle in the capital, taunting your allies to get a rise out of them.
• You simply stay quiet, pretending to be meek and afraid when necessary, focusing on the mission above all else. He may not suspect you, for now, but he still notices how you never truly bend to his will.
• It's the first time in a long time that he's encountered this up close. It's now a race as you try to subtly search for records of his plans and he tries to trap you in the gilded cage he calls his palace, in an attempt to have what's out of his reach at last.
• If you're tempted to let out an exasperated "oh my god," don't. At least, not when he's within earshot.
Lilac eyes narrow in amusement at your words, and soft lips curl into a cruel grin. "Yes, I am your god," the Electro Archon cooes, tilting your chin up with slender fingers that grip too hard for your comfort. "The others may crumble in time, but I am Baal, the eternal one!"
Tumblr media
Childe
• They say it's difficult to find water in Snezhnaya that's not frozen over, or falling to earth as snowflakes instead of rain.
• And yet, the Tsar that rules over the frozen lands wields Hydro blades that sting from the cold and easily cut through flesh.
• It seems unbelievable that a boy touched by the abyss would grow up to serve Celestia. But he's made it clear where his allegiance lies, and how dearly he wants the heavenly thrones destroyed.
• Every gnosis collected by his Harbingers is greedily displayed in his throne room, each one a symbol of just how far his reach can extend. Even if he isn't there in person, he can still drag his fellow gods down to earth, with their godhood left in far more... capable hands.
• Yes, his dreams of world domination is far more tangible the way he is now. The former archon was a sentimental fool, but the new Tsar shall reshape the world.
• He'd get there much faster if it wasn't for your constant interference.
• Sure, he was annoyed at first. But that irritation gives way to curiosity rather quickly.
• He watches your progress through a sphere of water floating before him, kept solid from the sheer cold of the room, and he honestly hasn't been this entertained in decades- perhaps his subordinates aren't pleased he's rooting more for you than them at times, but it's none of his concern.
• When you arrive at his palace at last, his eyes gleam. The power of six elements reside within you- you'll be his most thrilling fight yet. You're just surprised: you were expecting a cold, emotionless leader, not someone who jokes around like a child.
• And after actually meeting him, you can't tell if he truly has a noble reason to topple Celestia, or if he just wants a fight to the death against multiple gods.
• Childe says: why not both?
"Ever considered joining the Fatui, comrade?" That nearly throws you off balance, even as you're going for the final blow. The Tsar remains lighthearted, as if this is a conversation over dinner, even when your blade is pointed at his throat. "As fun as it is crossing blades... I'd much rather you fight by my side."
Tumblr media
Kaeya
• Oh, the irony.
• In another life, he was one of the last survivors of Celestia's cruelty.
• But here, now, he enforces the Heavenly Principles that sealed Khaenri’ah's fate in the first place. Whether he likes it or not is a mystery, but he does not dare oppose the divine.
• All you wanted was to leave this war-torn world, hand in hand with the only one dear to you. But an unknown god stands in your path, blocking your way, and with a snap of his fingers seals your twin in fractals of ice and strips away the last of your powers.
• He had a sibling, too, once. Not that he remembers, of course. The way he hesitates when he sees the two of you fight at each other's side is... strange, yes, but you can't question it in the heat of battle.
• It doesn't change the results, anyway. Even if his movements are occasional slowed, they're still much faster than yours. And does it show? Certainly.
• Your attacks don't reach him.
• Your defenses are torn away.
• Cold fear floods your veins like ice as, for once in your impossibly long life, you are hopelessly outclassed.
• Something like guilt flickers across his star-shaped pupils, making you pause, only for you to be trapped as well.
• Those same eyes stare at you in cold disdain before the same ice that trapped your sibling closes over your sight. Your angry tears freeze to your cheeks, and you fall.
• This isn't over, you think, as wind whistles in your ears. You'll find him again. You'll fight him again, and you'll win.
• Perhaps he could hear your thoughts.
• Because as you drop from the sky, a scream tearing your throat for your sibling, you hear his voice as clearly as though he's beside you.
"Sorry to say this, outlander," he purrs amusedly. You hate his smooth, heady voice. "But your journey-" the world darkens, spins- "ends here."

Genshin took over my life and I'm now going to make my hyperfixation of it everyone's problem
Some time ago, I really, REALLY got into Genshin Impact and it has, without a doubt, taken over my life.
Recently, I read two pretty cool fics on Ao3; "Wards of the Wind" by Kiri_Kaitou_Clover and "Just a Boy" by Karmitara, which... both had me cooking.
I have a funky Genshin AU / Story Idea I want to info dump about! I call it "A Thousand Winds in a Windless Land"!
The general gist of it is that during the Cataclysm, Barbatos is sent to kill the Khanri'ahn heir, baby Kaeya, however, Barbatos is unable to bring himself to kill him and hands him over to Dainsleif who escapes into the Abyss while Barbatos distracts the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles.
Of course, they (because I stan gender-neutral Venti) lose. Normally, such actions would result in execution, however, the Sustainer is unable to kill Barbatos without consequences that probably involve Istaroth, so instead, she seals Barbatos away, but still tells all the Archons that she killed them to prevent any more rebellious behaviour.
Before they get sealed away, however, Barbatos transfers their powers over to their siblings; the Thousand Winds, putting them on the same power level as the adepti of Liyue, and then Barbatos transfers their soul into a vessel in the form of a wisp similar to the rest of the wisps so that they can keep helping out in Teyvat in secret. After sealing Barbatos away, the Sustainer goes to destroy Mondstadt as part of Barbatos' punishment, but because of the Thousand Winds' power up, they are able to defeat the sustainer and send her and Celestia into a slumber after she'd been weakened by the Cataclysm.
Afterwards, the Wind Wisps essentially became divine protectors of Mondstadt, similar to the Four Winds and Liyue’s adepti. They’re also able to have human forms, identifiable by their white hair and anemo-coloured tips and eyes. They mostly stay in Mondstadt but are also known to live in other nations alongside people they decide to stick to.
I imagine that the inclusion of the wisps and the presence of Barbatos (who calls themself Nye since their identity as Venti has been compromised) changes a lot of things that I'll probably cover in another post lol. But I like to imagine that some of the wisps decided to stick around with anemo users and residents of Mondstadt, as well as people who are just generally fighting for freedom as well as the archons. I also like to imagine that a wisp decides to stick around with Dainsleif, and as for the Traveller? The wisp who follows him around is literally just Nye/Venti lol
I don't really know what the Mondstadt quest will be since I plan for Dvalin to be cured :PP
I am also a sucker for Venti & Tsaritsa shenanigans and like to headcanon that they have a sibling relationship, so I imagine that around half of the animosity she feels towards the other archons is probably Barbatos related. She's mad at Morax because he was the one in charge of making sure that Barbatos would kill Kaeya, she was originally not as disappointed towards Beelzebub and was even a little sympathetic towards her until she decided to take the coward's way out and hide away in her Plane of Euthymia and leave an emotionless puppet to rule her people, but the Tsaritsa probably has nothing really against Buer and Focalors since there was genuinely nothing they could have done since neither of them become archons until after the Cataclysm. I'm not sure what Murata's role should be in all of this yet, but I do know that the Tsaritsa probably also really blames herself for not being able to prevent Barbatos' fate. My brother even suggested that maybe she was the one who was originally supposed to kill Kaeya, but because she refused, the duty was pushed onto Barbatos.
I'll probably info-dump more about this AU later lol

DRAGON RIDER AU
In which you are bound to a dragon for life once you make a contract w them, and Durin’s curse corrupts himself, Kaeya, and Dvalin. In order to save Kaeya, Diluc forces them to break the bond when Dvalin kills Durin, leaving Kaeya dragonless for the rest of his life, but the blood corruption festers & now Diluc has to search for the Anemo Archon in hopes of saving what is left of those he love... (I think it would be cool of Kaeya to flicker between blue & red eyes)
With the help of the Traveler & a trying battle where they had to fight Dvalin & Kaeya, the corruption is purified. after reconciliation; with blessings from Barbatos himself, Diluc & Kaeya get married and Dvalins contract is extended to Kaeya as a result so he can fly again

Okay so here's the summary of what happens in the first section of the ML Genshin au. If you're overly familiar with the lore of the game itself sorry in advance cause things are gonna be different. It's a mix of wanted to incorporate new ideas and I don't remember everything exactly lmao
This of course contains Spoilers for the first three Archon quests in Genshin Impact :) so there you've been warned. Also warning: long post. I'm sorry
--
So the story starts with two travelers soaring through the skies, visiting world after world as they go. However their journey is cut short when they encounter a strange god in the heavens above one such world
The travelers hold out against her for as long as they can, but she gets the upper hand, capturing one of the two travelers. She seals away the powers of the other, trapping him in this world
Some time passes. Our traveler has spent his time trying to survive in the wild in this new world, and has now fished a strange creature up out of the sea. Some floating cat thing, that insists he's not a cat. He calls himself Plagg
Our traveler is blond, with striking green eyes. His outfit is very strange, looking kinda like,, a thick leather armour type stuff but softer. There are dark stars on his shoulders, wrists, on the belt, and in the centre of his chest, and his shirt cuts off at the base of his ribs. Pants are much the same, boots ending just below the knees, and he's got some fancy golden gloves and padding on the knees
The traveler explains what he remembers of his story to Plagg, introducing himself as Adrien. He's not of this world, and he's going to find his identical cousin Felix, who was taken by a strange god, no matter what it takes
Plagg decides to be his guide in this world, which he calls Teyvat, and agrees to help him find the god and his cousin. He explains that Teyvat is divided into seven Nations, each under the rule of one of seven gods called Archons, collectively "the Seven". The land they're in now is called Mondstadt, the nation belonging to the Archon of freedom. And Anemo, the element of wind
Plagg leads Adrien into a small valley, a statue resting in the middle of a small lake right in the centre. The guide calls it a Statue of the seven, this one modeled after Barbatos, the name used for the Anemo Archon. Plagg believes there's a chance the strange god could be one of the seven, so perhaps praying to the statue may give them some answers
However when Adrien gets close, he's infused with a strange power. He now has control over Anemo
This is odd to Plagg because in Teyvat, only humans with something called a vision can use elemental abilities. Visions are gifts from the Archons, used to show who has earned their favour through what's usually some inhuman feat or something like that I guess
The statue left more questions than answers, so Plagg decides they should try to find the god in person in the City of Mondstadt. However on their way to the forest that will lead to the city, a dragon flies overhead
Plagg decides a dragon is too much work to deal with and suggests they turn back, cause maybe your cousin will show up on his own- wait - hey come back here-
Adrien marches on, interested in meeting a dragon. He walks carefully through the trees, stopping short when he spots the dragon and a shorter figure
The person slowly approaching the dragon has their back to Adrien, with pinkish-red hair, wearing a somewhat fancy looking grey hooded jacket, black high boots, and dark cyan trousers. On their left shoulder, attached to their lapel, is a spring green/seafoam?? Kinda? Idk- coloured gem
Their hand is outstretched towards the dragon, who growls lowly as the figure shushes them. Adrien leans in to see better, snapping a twig beneath his boots. At the sudden noise the dragon shoots off into the sky, flying off. The figure whips around to face Adrien, summoning a sword from thin air (vision users can just do this?? There's really no explanation that I've cared to read haha). The figure turns and runs off into the woods after staring at Adrien for a moment
Adrien and Plagg continue on their way through the woods, coming out the other end with no other issues. Once they exit the forest, a woman is calling for their attention
She's dressed in for the outdoors, emerald kinda green overalls that are cut like shorts, white,, idk kinda like tights but thicker?? And brown boots, the same colour as the pretty much useless belt around her waist, where a bright green gem and little pouches rest. Under the overalls is a navy collared shirt, soft fabric, button open at the top, a brown half jacket (cut like a crop top) open over it. Dark hair in two pigtails, bright blue eyes
She introduces herself as Marinette, an adventurer assisting the Knights of Favonius, who protect the city, with keeping monsters at bay from the city. She asks Adrien what he and his, cat? ("IM NOT A CAT!") Are doing outside the city, and he tells her he's looking for his cousin, and maybe Barbatos
Marinette explains that they haven't heard from their god in years, and only recently have they gotten any sign that the Archon actually exists, with the first Anemo vision to be given out in ages and the dragon attacks
Adrien helps her clear out a little monster camp before they head into the city, with Marinette planning on taking Adrien to see the Acting Grand Master to see if she can help
But OH NO DRAGON ATTACK. Adrien hears a voice and suddenly he's got boosted abilities, flying (using a wind glider) up with the dragon, chasing it away from the city by blasting it with Anemo energy
When he lands Marinette asks him what the hell he just did, and someone else steps in, claiming they were about to say the same thing. This woman has orange cat ears sticking out of bobbed orange hair, and is wearing glasses over teal eyes
She's got a simple, dark blue jacket on over a light blue collared shirt, a brown vest between the two. Dark pants, tall metallic, silver boots, a small kinda waist cape?? Idk what they are but she's got one and it's white and furred. A pale baby blue vision hangs from the side of her belt
This is Sabrina, one of the Captains with the knights, Marinette explains. Sabrina escorts the two of them to the headquarters of the knights, claiming the Acting Grand Master wants to speak with them
The Acting Grand Master has long blonde hair tied back in a ponytail, and tired blue eyes. She wears a long dark coat, an orangey brown vision just off the right shoulder. Under the jacket is a dark brown, thick blouse and vest combo. Her pants are a pale brown, and her boots are the same as Sabrina's. Her clothing looks rather lavish
The Acting Grand Master, Chloe, she insists they call her, listens to Adrien's tale. She explains she can help once things calm down with the whole dragon thing. He wants to help, but she can't just let him in for liability reasons and strikes a deal. If he can locate the one citizen that didn't check in and confirm their health after the attack, he earns honorary knight status
The knights and adventurers head out to seek out the temples of three of the four winds while Adrien and Plagg look for this missing person. They follow traces of Anemo energy, leading them to the roof of the knights headquarters where they come face to face with the figure from the woods, the missing citizen
The citizen attempts to run, but they stop her and say the knights are looking for her. The figure cautiously introduces herself as Alix Kubdel, watching the duo cautiously
Plagg speaks first breaking the silence, asking her about what she was doing with the dragon. You know, the dragon that attacked the city? Got an explanation for that?
Alix hesitates but explains that she was trying to calm down the dragon, bond with it. When asked why, she finally explains that she's the New Anemo Archon, and she's still getting used to what she has to do
New? What do you mean new? Plagg kinda hounds at her, Adrien apologizes, and Alix says the last Archon died, and she was eventually chosen as a replacement
By now the knights are returning from the temples and Adrien takes Alix in to talk with Chloe to convince her that they don't need to kill "Stormterror", the name given to the dragon by the city. Alix corrects them, stating his name is Dvalin
Alix has to reveal to Chloe as well that she's the new Archon in order to convince her to let them try Alix's "bonding plan", and they set into action. The group sets off for the lair of the dragon, to confront him headon
Adrien fights the dragon the same way as before, realizing Alix was the one that gave him the ability to do the funky blasting and flying, and then they've got him weak enough that Adrien can do some weird otherworldly healing thing on him
Apparently the dragon was poisoned by the monsters from the Abyss, and was under their orders. Without the aid of the Archon he couldn't fight it, but now that he's met the new Archon, Alix, all is great and dandy and they have a fun chat
They all head back to the city to celebrate, but they're ambushed by a group called the Fatui from one of the other nations, Schnezneya. During the ambush a woman known as Signora, one of the Harbingers who executes the will of the Cryo Archon, gets a hold of Alix
She snatches something called a gnosis from her, leaving her weak on the ground as they flee. The gnosis, uh, it holds like,, uh, the godly powers of an Archon? It's what makes em an Archon I guess? Sorta? Anyways Alix's was stolen so she doesn't have it now
And that's pretty much it. Alix goes to heal at this big ass tree and advises Adrien fo go check out the next nation, Liyue, and their Archon Morax, to see about his cousin and thats it
Adrien would do other stuff before leaving including meeting two Alchemists and helping them explore a mountain, assisting the two owners of the Harmony Tavern with some bullshit and all that but yeah
This is a very condensed version, of the events, but anymore detail and this would be that much longer lmao
If you have any questions comments complaints or whatever let me know. Sorry this was long I tried to condense it as best I could,
