Can I make a request? Headcanons or a little Oneshot idk of Alastor x Wife!reader? Both being couple goals like Morticia and Gómez. Being evil together, like a good old classical couple 👉👈🥺
Alastor x Wife!Reader
I can see the reader symbolic animal being a crow/bat,and being able to manipulate/manifest them in both physical and shadow form
they would get along with Alastor's manifestations, sometimes he would pet them, have them around whenever you're not since he craves presence
both of you play spooky little tricks on the other demons such as making things levitate, opening the doors, flicking the lights,it's truly amusing seeing the undead fear the ..well..undead
you would give "soft nightmares" to someone then said someone would think they're prophetic and Alastor would further convince them they are just so that they make a deal with him to keep them safe from absolutely nothing
both of you give each other the side eye everytime something happens that both of you don't agree on
he has a shadow attached to you and inevitably the said shadow would try to woo you every chance he has
the "microphone" he has also has to be a little bit oblivious at times.
Both of you sit in complete silence, just enjoying each others presence while doing your own thing then suddenly his mic opens his little eye "what a lovely couple both of you are, what were the odds for both of you to be silent in bed!" Alastor chuckles and you let out an annoyed giggle "did you hear that, dear?" you ask him, putting your chore aside.
"Of course, just don't mind him,but for real now, what were the odds?" he continues to joke about it."No.That was the sound of a fucking divorce." you joke in return making him even more flustered and talkative, getting him all touchy feely with you
for real now,the word "divorce" makes him a top comedian, cook, lover and everything in between, even if it's in the context of a joke,he wouldn't want to lose you
if your personality tends to be more introverted/melancholic he would 100% take it as a challange and would do everything in his power to get you to do something completely out of your character
he never calls you by your name(except for serious occasions/spicy ones,if you know what I mean) but rather uses pet names such as "Honey";"Dear";"Darling"; "Cara mia"
uses every opportunity to dance with you whenever a good song is playing
you don't have to be shy with him,his mischievous personality will totally use it to his benefit and tease the living hell out of you
I have this lil' headcanon that if the both of you are listening in to a conversation and if you can't hear,he would manifest some old headphones to hear better "here you go,darling"
"Husk is adorable" you sing, trying to pet the man in question "Well,I say he looks completely utterly miserable!Of course you find him adorable!" Alastor laughs, bringing his one sided friend closer to your reach
asks your opinion on every important decision he has to make even if he is already sure about what to do.If you have a different view on it he will definitely reconsider
Angel Dust would be all sighs, puffs and "get a room" just because the two of you do simple romantic gestures such as Alastor's gentlemanly behaviour of kissing your hand and such
Vaggie's tolerance of Alastor drops to 0,but she adores enjoys your presence. She wishes both of you would have more time together but your husband always needs to barge in and annoy the living hell out of her.Alastor doesn't really likes her so he wouldn't want you around her that much
dark humour that leaves everyone poker face except the two of you
he doesn't except much from you tbh, just the same old love to be reciprocated

okay, time to actually type up my thoughts on this AU! With some new art to make it worth it.
for context, here's part one and part two.
so the basics are, Bowser is continually trying to conquer the city and being fought off by the bros, who do have superpowers (I thought about drawing lightning around Luigi's fist but I don't know how to make that look good in lineart) and costumes and "hero names," but don't hide their faces so they don't exactly have secret identities. It's more like being an actor with a stage name. Since they're fairly average-looking dudes they don't get recognized all the time, especially when they're apart, but Mario definitely does more often than Luigi.
But even when they're not recognized by the starbucks barista, people expect a lot of them. Not just stopping Bowser, but stopping everyday problems, rescuing cats from trees or standing in for a broken TV antenna. Eventually the pressure gets to Mario and he decides to fake his death and make a run for it. He's not really thinking clearly at the time and he regrets it almost immediately, but he can't bring himself to go back and face everyone's disappointment. He needs to figure himself out first.
He does at least contact Luigi as soon as he's out of the city to reassure him he's not dead. He doesn't tell him where he's going though, and Luigi can't contact him back, he has to wait for Mario to call, so Luigi does genuinely miss him and can fake grief when he needs to without too much prompting.
Bowser, meanwhile, was genuinely not expecting to "kill" his greatest rival. He never really wanted Mario dead, he just wanted the city! But he's not going to let this opportunity pass him by- Or so he thinks, until he's beaten into a pulp by the other hero that he usually forgot about.
Okay, fine, Bowser can still work with this. Heal up, regroup, give it another try- Aaaand this time he's ganged up on by three heroes he's never even seen before. What the heck is happening?
Turns out that without Mario's charismatic leader act keeping everyone reassured (and complacent), a bunch of people are stepping into the gap. Luigi, Peach, Daisy, probably more than one Toad or Yoshi... Bowser can't plan for this! They all have different powers, different strategies, different types of banter. He's overwhelmed.
So Bowser gets the idea that he needs just one hero to fight. Maybe with a sidekick, but still. That way he can time his cool speeches and minimize the amount he gets punched in the face. He already killed one of them, maybe if he works his way through the others one at a time he'll finally win. Eventually. Someday.
He gets the super crown disguise watch (I still haven't decided if there's a real guy whose appearance and name he is copying) and finds his first hero. Mario's sidekick. Should be the easiest one to fight, right? Bowser just needs to convince him that it's better for everyone if the city only has one hero at a time. It's about continuity. It'll reassure them. Give them a symbol.
Unfortunately for Bowser (and fortunately for us) Luigi is way too nice a guy to chase off some random bear person just for recognizing him and having Opinions about all this hero stuff. Luigi talks to him, addresses his concerns, answers his questions, and the guy is actually surprisingly willing to listen. Most people who try to tell him how to do his job don't care about facts and logic!
Next thing Bowser knows, he's been invited for coffee next week. That's... fine, right? This is progress! It's not a date, it's just getting close to his target! And it's definitely not a problem that Luigi is really cute and sweet and patient and has big blue eyes and a nice smile and the warmth of his handshake lingered for the rest of the afternoon...
Everything is totally fine! 👍

wait wdym dc didn't stick with Red Robin for Tim [and the de-aging thing?] what are they calling him if not RR?
He's been Robin again since 2019 😬 it's a bit more complicated but that's the gist of it.
Okay so Tim became Red Robin in the 2009-2011 series of the same name, back in the post-Crisis timeline. He was supposedly 17 at the time, by official records, and I believe he was still supposed to be 17 when the universe was rebooted with Flashpoint in 2011? (Although this doesn't really make any sense with respect to jamming the huge number of events that happened while he was Robin into like four years, if he was supposed to have become Robin at 13; he should probably at least be 18 if not 19-20).
The Flashpoint reboot took us into the New 52 (much beloathed), where nearly everyone was de-aged to some extent to keep Bruce Wayne and his generation from getting ~too old~, and also Tim Drake was mangled into a completely different character who had never been "Robin"; he'd been "Red Robin" right from the start of his vigilante career. He was de-aged to 16 for the New 52 Teen Titans series.
Tumblr media
Teen Titans (2011) #0; as you can see, this version of Red Robin kept a version of the bandoliers and gave Tim a fancy new functional wing cape that he could fly around with.
Next, Rebirth in 2016 was a partial reboot that brought back some aspects of the post-Crisis timeline; tbh I'm not an expert on this period. What I do know is that Tim mainly appears in James Tynion IV's run of Detective Comics that ran from 2016 to 2018. During this period Tim was still called Red Robin, but he'd basically reverted to a Robin costume, with only the silly doubled "RR" symbol identifying him as not ~actually~ Robin winkwink nudgenudge, and as I understand it he was mostly back to functioning as Bruce's partner.
Tynion's run ends in Detective Comics #981 with Tim telling Bruce that he's going off to Ivy University. (He's totally lying, as Tim Drake does; Alfred notices that his tracker is going off in the opposite direction of the university, but Bruce is like "I trust him" and turns the tracker off. Yay, I guess?)
Anyway the important bit is this revealing that Tim is 'going-off-to-college' age. Which could still reasonably be anywhere from 17-19, and DC being DC, they ~refuse to confirm~
Tumblr media
Tim as Red Robin on the cover of Detective Comics #934 (2016); as you can see, he's pretty much Robin again lol
Tumblr media
Detective Comics #968 (2018); another shot of his "basically Robin" Red Robin costume
In 2019 we got the actual return of Tim as Robin (no "Red") in Brian Michael Bendis's Young Justice run, re-uniting the Core Four from YJ 1998.
Tumblr media
Young Justice (2019) #1
As you can see, he no longer has the doubled 'RR', and he confirms that he's Robin - "Well, one of them!" I think he's supposed to be filling in as the Gotham Robin while Damian is running around the world having adventures and presumably getting into trouble, as Robins do? idk.
Tim also chases down his erased post-Crisis past at the beginning of this arc, having Zatanna magically restore (most of) his memories of the previous timeline, and, crucially, his forgotten best friend Kon, kickstarting some plot.
Tim, and all of the Young Justice crew, are notably young-looking for almost the entirety of this run. It varies based on the artist, but uh, yeah for the most part they are really damn baby-faced. This is a trend that continues with Tim and his generation of friends from this point onward, so fans have basically thrown up their hands like "is he 17 forever???? is he Edward Cullen from Twilight???? is he aging backward????"
We Just Don't Know
In any case, Bendis makes DC's next attempt to give Tim his own identity in short order, giving us the hilarious, ill-fated, and rightfully short-lived "Drake" identity.
Tumblr media
Young Justice (2019) #10
He's back to being Robin by issue #18, hilariously switching costumes from one page to the next, although some time has apparently passed during the scene transition.
Tumblr media
Young Justice (2019) #18; Jinny: "Is Drake back to being Robin?" Kon: "I think Batman and Spoiler made him go back to Robin. Don't bring it up. And say thank you because we didn't have to have the Drake intervention we were planning."
And as of the current date (July 13, 2023), Tim is still in the Robin identity, sharing it with Damian ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ God knows how old he's supposed to be right now. I certainly don't.
Tumblr media
Batman (2016) #136; the most recent issue out to date, with Tim suiting up as Robin while filling Bruce in after diving into a bunch of parallel dimensions to bring Bruce home.
As you can see, it's a Mess. The Tim Drake's Vigilante Identity question is of course a hotbed of wank and infighting, as people are torn between (a) wanting him to continue as Robin and (b) wanting him to move on and "grow up" into his own identity again (and, importantly, leave Damian as the sole Robin again, lol).
It feels like most people are for option (b), but then nobody can agree on what his next identity and costume should be. Red Robin again?? Some other bird-based identity that doesn't share a name with a major restaurant chain?? Something else entirely??
God only knows what DC is going to come up with, especially after the Drake fiasco.
And there you have it, Anon! Hope that was helpful.

Jegulus Prompt: Amortentia
12.04.24, @jegulus-microfic
681 Words
____
James has often heard about the phenomenon of "X fell first, Y fell harder".
And he is certain that he is the exception.
Because it's not possible to idolise someone harder or stronger than he does it with Regulus Arcturus Black.
Because, and this is the problem, Regulus thinks James is terrible. He makes him feel it all the time.
Ever since the younger black moved in with James and Sirius (or rather James' parents), he at least talkes to James. But it's mostly just insults or snide remarks. But that's a start, isn't it?
So James has been the only one to fall so far.
James needs a plan to show Regulus that he's actually quite cool.
And the best way is for Regulus to just think he's cool!
Okay, yes, James knows how that sounds, but listen to him!
If he could theoretically infuse Regulus with a certain potion that would make him like him, then.... That would be a step in the right direction, wouldn't it?
James has even spoken to Sirius about it and he's totally on his side. (Okay, you see, James didn't tell Sirius it was about Regulus, but he agreed anyway, so it's all good).
So one morning, James puts a few drops of Amortentia in Regulus' juice at the breakfast table. And less than 2 minutes later, he sees Regulus finish the glass.
(Just don't ask where James got the potion from, he won a few bets against drunken teachers at the Three Broomsticks)
James knows that someone who drinks Amortentia turns pale and looks ill, but Regulus (and Sirius to be honest) is always as pale as if he's about to catch the flu.
So you can't tell the difference on the outside.
Normally the potion should take effect immediately, but James hardly notices any difference. Is the potion broken? Can something like this have a best-before date?
"What are you staring at, James?" Regulus suddenly snaps him out of his thoughts.
"I'm not staring at-" he breaks off mid sentence, only to continue shortly afterwards, "What did you just call me?"
"...James? Isn't that your name anymore?" Regulus replies snippily.
"You've never called me James before."
Regulus blushes, briefly averts his eyes, but immediately looks at him again: "Why does it smell more like you here today than usual? How pungent can your heavenly scent be?" Regulus' face takes on a strawberry colour and he immediately jumps up, wants to leave, but goes straight to James and hugs him.
James laughs softly, "Is everything all right, Reggi?"
"Shut up."
He runs his hand through Reggi's curls, putting an arm around him.
"I'd be a really good friend for you, you know?"
"I know."
"I wish you were like that too, without Amortentia."
"James, I'm not on drugs."
"Yes, darling, I put something in your juice."
"I drink the juice every morning, I can tell when something's different about it. I can do magic too, you know."
James pushes Regulus away from him and looks at him, confused. "What do you mean?"
Now it's Regulus who grins. "Well, let me put it this way, I hope for your sake Sirius hasn't drunk his juice yet."
"Regulus, what are you doing here with me?" James looks at Regulus, who is still clinging to him and hugging him.
"What do you want it to be?"
"I don't care, as long as it's with you."
"Sop"
They both smile shyly at each other until James realises that Regulus is looking at his lips rather than into his eyes.
But just as their lips almost touch, the door to the kitchen is yanked open. "Jammiieee-" cries Sirius, staring wide-eyed at James, "Hello, dear! What took you so long? I've been looking for you!" He sprints towards James and Regulus, tearing them apart and clinging to James with his arms and legs. "Sirius! I'm busy with -" but he sees Regulus goes out of the room, with a kiss, which he symbolically throws at James through the air before closing the door and disappearing.
Seems like James wasn't the only one who fell.

i apologize in advance if this ask sounds kinda weird, but i'm kinda curious to hear your thoughts on how the narrative treats qi rong, mostly because i think interacting only with the eng version/fandom might take some context from his character. i've seen people complaining that some fans woobify him too much, others complaining that some people treat him as a pure hate-sink when he's more than that. while i do think he's a multi-layered character, i do sometimes get the feeling that mxtx did not go easy on him, with the revised version being even crazier than before (some even say he was given a bit of onesided incestuous subtext with xl, but i wonder if that interpretation isn't just the result of weirdly translated lines in eng). i think this might be because he strikes me as a meta personification of sorts for toxic fans who place their identity and self-worth on just one person they completely idolize, and when that person is shown to be imperfect they immediately turn against them, and we know mxtx has had experience with those kinds of people.
i do think he's largely meant to be seen as unsympathetic overall, though i think there's strong nuances with his character as well. since his childhood he always lacked something and never really had a well formed identity, his prince name being symbolic of his life. he projected himself onto xl in life, and he kept on absorving the worst traits of the people around his life without really understanding them in order to feel powerful and important, from the xianle nobles to the signature traits of the other calamities. he also strikes me as very... "little brother"-coded, in the sense that he keeps looking for any sort of recognition and seems unable to mature. even when he hates xl i think he still somewhat craves his attention, and qr only developed a bit when he was forced to let go of this role by accidentally becoming a father instead. i think it's also interesting that he started out a lot like his father, but ended up sharing the fate of his mother.
i do wonder how the cn fandom views him and if he's nearly as divisive as he is here. i'd also be pretty interested in seeing some meta about him from cn fans. again, it feels like some context is missing by not speaking the language the book was originally written in...
Hi! I think the narrative basically takes the same stance as Xie Lian in its attitude towards Qi Rong, which is the sort of "I can't love you but I don't want to hate you, the best I could give you is indifference". I agree that Qi Rong isn't meant to be lovable, but MXTX isn't dismissive of him as a character either - she devoted almost an entire chapter to Qi Rong's death, let him speak his mind, and gave him some form of closure.
Qi Rong having onesided incestuous subtext with XL (!!) in the revised version is...very interesting haha, I haven't read the revised version so I can't know (someone please tell me where to get the revised version ><). Although I want to speculate that even if there is some incestuous vibes, it's not truly sexual - it's probably libido directed the wrong way when you're lusting over someone else's identity, but not over that person per se. Qi Rong lusts over XL's identity in the sense that he wants to be XL - or rather he wants to be perfect, worshipped, all-powerful etc. (bit of digression, there's an underrated psychological thriller called Cracks starring Eva Green, if you watch it you'll know what I mean)
I don't have the impression that he's truly divisive in the Chinese fandom, but then I don't engage with the Chinese fandom that much so I could totally be wrong. And I don't think any context is missing for English readers either (except maybe the humour of QR's obscene language might be lost in translation?) because human nature is the same everywhere, and Qi Rong's distorted psyche is more a matter of human nature than cultural context.
As for Chinese fandom's view of QR, there's this great meta I translated and posted a few days ago, and I found some other opinion pieces about Qi Rong on Zhihu (Chinese equivalent of Reddit), as you'll see they're quite diverse.
A lot of Chinese readers say that what stands out most about Qi Rong is his comedic role in the story because his cursing and name-calling are really funny; a lot of people also mention being really touched by his self-sacrifice to save Guzi. I found this one post that has a similar view to yours, which is QR represents MXTX's toxic fans:
"I always felt it's the author admonishing her fans in an implicit way not to be as crazy as Qi Rong [...] My guess is that the author can't ask her fans outright not to act in this way because that would hurt people who support her but are immature, however she can't turn a blind eye to these people going around provoking more resentment, so she creates QR to remind her fans not to be like QR, or they'd appear as unlikable as QR to the public. But the author still feels symathy for thse fans, so she didn't depict their representation in the novel as totally incorrigible - QR retains some humanity and is a little adorable when he starts to care about people."
I also saw opinions about the narrative (or rather Xie Lian) not going easy on Qi Rong, like this one:
"Xie Lian is clearly a very good person but why is he so heartless to QR? He eventually treated QR as a joke and a burden, but QR was once a true follower of his. At first I thought XL was perfect and cares about everyone, but he never really cared for his cousin. When I read that XL felt neither joy nor sorrow when QR died saving Guzi, my heart chilled. If XL could forgive the masses who betrayed and reviled him, why can't he forgive his cousin who once followed him whole-heartedly?"
There're also people saying that Qi Rong's potential divisiveness is what makes him a great villain, like this post:
"What MXTX's well-received villains have in common is a tragic childhood and not being loved growing up, and they only have a soft spot for one person. Although these villains did horrible deeds and are unrepentant, they all reserve some kindness in their heart for the only person who's good to them. This contrast is striking and touching, yet most likely to cause controversy. Therefore, MXTX knows very clearly how to create a memorable villain, and I admire that."
Someone else says when they read about Qi Rong they "don't know whether to laugh or cry" (XL's signature emotion hehe). They add that "this is where MXTX is successful in writing a villain - you both hate and pity him; he's infuriating, but you don't really want to see him die either."
Another view is that since Qi Rong has no filter, he sometimes serves as the truth-telling voice. For example, when XL wanted to keep Lang Qianqiu in the dark about the truth of the Gilded Banquet Massacre, Qi Rong blurted out the truth.
There's also a question posted on Zhihu that asks why people like Qi Rong, and there're some interesting answers. There's one post that says "I find him attractive because he's depicted as alluringly ghostly in a lot of fan art like vampires in Twilight" haha
Another post says they like Qi Rong "because he's guilelessly wicked, while XL and Hua Cheng are hypocrites" emmmmm
Another one says they like Qi Rong because "being Xie Lian is exhausting, he's so wronged but he just endures it all, while Qi Rong just launches verbal assults whenever someone rubs him the wrong way, it's so cathartic. The most difficult thing in the world is to be a good person, because as soon as you do one thing wrong, everyone criticises you; but if you're a bad person, even if you did just one good thing, everyone praises you for it and shows you pity".

wot rewatch (book spoilers edition): 2x1
And here is the very spoiler-filled follow-up to my earlier post!
Not only is this one going to have spoilers for all the aired episodes plus any teasers, it will also have book spoilers through book 11: The Gathering Storm.
Thinking of the Darkfriend Social in terms of spoilers -- the x-ray notes that the 'location' for the scene is Tel'aran'rhoid. What does that mean for the little girl? Hmm.
2. I also wonder if this scene isn't set a little earlier than the rest of the episodes are set. We know that by the end of this episode, it's been a full year since 1x1, because Bel Tine has rolled around again. Other things that this being in TAR could mean: that the fallen seal is symbolic rather than reflecting reality and is a representation of the fact that Ishamael has been released from his prison.
3. Darkfriend roll call! We've got Fain, who is still a member in good standing (has not yet killed a Fade); we've got Lord Ingtar; we've got High Lady Suroth; we've got at least two Black Ajah sisters (Sheriam and Liandrin? One of them is wearing a black dress and one is wearing a red one, I think); we've got Unnamed Tuatha'an Mom; we've got a Whitecloak (probably Carridin). I'm not 100% on anyone else at the table. I'm pretty sure our main characters are basically surrounded by Darkfriends right now in their various storylines!
4. The storyline of Moirine fighting her depression over not being able to touch the One Power by forcing herself to have a sense of purpose each day and not give up to the despair... it really does show how poorly served the male channelers are by the Tower. After they get gentled, they get shoved into prison, basically, but the White Tower knows that a sense of purpose is what makes severed (or, in Moiraine's case, probably shielded) channelers have the will to keep living. And that gets denied to the men who are gentled.
5. Verin being merged with Vandene feels like a perfect example of a merged character -- the much more important character is plucking bits and pieces from the minor character and folding them into her characterization. It does really make me wonder how the future is going to go down, though! Will Verin be ordered to kill her own sister and feel like she has to do it in order to maintain her cover? Also: I wonder how much of the reason why Tomas 'picked' Verin over Adeleas had to do with him being a repentant Darkfriend and Verin finding out about it. Also, in our first major storyline, we have two Darkfriends interacting with main characters. Total count so far: 2.
Both the Verin/Vandene merger and the Elyas/Hurin merger should be, I think, our hints as to how the show is handling mergers and it's roughly what I would expect: the more important character swallows up the more minor character. This is why I don't think Liandrin & Elaida would be merged, because Elaida is a more important character than Liandrin, so 'Elaida' is what the merged character would have been named imo.
6. Haha I can't believe that I got so caught up in everything else that I didn't even mention Doman in my first impressions post! I loved his scenes. I think they did a good job giving him a purpose that suited what he does in the books, and he also delivers key plot info to Moiraine. Given that he calls the broken piece part of a 'moondial', I'm guessing he found part of Lanfear's seal (and he's being chased by the Shadow to recover the prophecy that he sells here to Moiraine, maybe?). I suspect that the poem is the Dark Prophecy, which means that we've already got a way for Rand to find out that he needs to go to Falme/Toman Head and he may even go there having zero idea that his friends are in trouble there (which makes sense since he's already in 'stay away from them to protect them' mode; either way would make sense to me, so I'm just curious what road the show takes).
But if Doman takes Moiraine's advice, he might be sailing right into the Seanchan's arms.
7. Egwene taking a moment to look at the official Amrylin outfit. I See You, foreshadowing. I See You. And as much as it pained me not to get my girl Elayne in the first episode, I do think it was a good idea for us to focus on Elayne and Nynaeve as they are before we get our third Wondergirl added to the mix.
8. Given that both Nynaeve and Egwene have learned about The Wonders of Poly (That Are Not For Them, Personally), I wonder if that means that we're going to get them finding out about Rand's polycule situation over the course of the series (maybe as someone for Elayne to talk to?) but in a more gradual and natural way. Also, I noticed a handful of novices watching the sparring down there, but we don't get to see the faces of the people sparring -- could one of them be a Certain Someone?
9. Haha, it's kinda weird seeing Nynaeve as a novice given that she spent zero time as one in the books. But this scene with her was a perfect illustration of why she makes a terrible novice, lol. She's perfect, but she's also a terrible novice. But also, the show is continuing to build up the characters' toolkits for the future - last season, Rand watched Moiraine pull the corruption of Shadar Logoth from Rand and this season, Nynaeve is learning how to purify water (and the Power is often compared to water/rivers). It does also point to the cleansing being more of an actual team-up instead of just Nynaeve being Rand's battery.
10. Poor Alanna is surrounded by Darkfriends in this next scene. We have Liandrin, Sheriam, and Joiya (literally every speaking character apart from Alanna is a Darkfriend in this scene, lol RIP). Total Darkfriends hanging out in main character plotlines: 5. If the show has preserved the 'heart' format from the books, it's entirely possible that none of them actually know that they're hanging out with other Black Ajah Sisters right now, too. Were Liandrin and Sheriam working together or are they both working under their own interpretations of their orders but don't know the other one is also Black Ajah? Given the way Joiya backed up Liandrin in this scene, I suspect that they may know about each other.
The show has done such a good job making Alanna understandable, empathetic, and charming. But she also has already shown herself not to be great at... appropriate boundaries.
11. We don't get much time with Uno before, well, Future Events, but the show did a good job painting his character very vividly, and using him to show the comradery that has built up between Perrin and Loial.
12. So I did a little post mentioning it but the girl who runs away while Fain is killing the other girl! I think that's the girl from the Darkfriend social scene! She looks like she's wearing the right outfit and is the right age with the right color hair. "There was a child who made it out." Her entire family (except her Darkfriend mom?) was slaughtered by Fain and his Trollocs. I wonder if we'll see her again. Hmm, actually, if Fain attacked a Tuatha'an caravan that he knew had a Darkfriend in it, was this his first move of going against the Dark One's/Ishamael's wishes?
13. Now that we're in Perrin's plotline, time to mention that Lord Ingtar, who doesn't want to hear Uno go on about how evil the traitor soldier was, is also a Darkfriend. Total Darkfriends surrounding our main characters: 6.
14. They did a good job in hitting all the main points of the actual Hunt for the Horn, tbh. In the first two episodes, we've got Perrin using his heightened senses, we've got the abandoned village and the room of flies, we've got the Fade nailed up that imo shows the moment when Fain stopped taking orders from the Dark One/Ishamael, and we've got Ingtar bonding with one of the main characters. And Rand's 'pushing people away' arc was pretty well covered with him faking his death. And Mat Suffering Terribly is also covered, lol.
15. I do feel like what Alanna tells Egwene here about poly relationships is probably something the show is going to lean into once Rand's situation starts rolling. "things are messy before they are perfect; nothing worthwhile is neat and tidy". Them leaning so much into Alanna's relationship is definitely giving me some good reassurances about poly plans for the future, because they're investing a relatively large amount of time into showing that this is a valid type of relationship to have, and explaining it to the audience.
16. Per Fain, the Darkfriends do know that 'all five' ta'veren will be important and will matter to how things go down with the Last Battle, so I feel like Liandrin trying to cultivate Nynaeve makes a lot of sense in that case. She wants to take Nynaeve under her wing to turn her to her point of view and her side. It's actually interesting to compare and contrast what Moiraine knew vs the Dark One, because they were actually pretty close in their timelines of figuring out when the Two Rivers was the hot spot.
17. I feel like it really works to give Siuan's scene to Liandrin here, in training Nynaeve. The Two Rivers folk are more vulnerable and more 'exposed' in the show than in the books. So it makes a lot of sense to me. It also feels like they are leaning into the idea that not all Aes Sedai have to 'surrender' in order to channel (so women don't always need to submit and men don't always need to dominate, per Jordan's canon), which is a change that I like.
18. And the Perrin and Ingtar stuff is also working really well for me. I think it helps his character a lot to have him be the one who is going through this with Ingtar instead of Rand (who has plenty going on already). And Ingtar! "Perhaps Padan Fain had a reason for doing what he did."
19. Moiraine's platonic breakup with Lan feels a lot more grounded in the show than it was in the books imo.
20. The letter! Oh, gosh it's so beautiful. It does feel like a little promise from the show that they aren't going to forget about the EF5 bond, and I'm hoping that we'll get more moments of reconnection than we got from the books.
21. So, what are everyone's thoughts on if what Liandrin tells Mat about the letters ("not a single mention of Mat Cauthon") counts as a lie and our confirmation that she's already Black Ajah or was it a wiggle around the truth (either going by the logic of there being multiple mentions of Mat and/or SHE didn't mention Mat and or well it doesn't ever say Cauthon)? I mean, she also seems to be keeping him as her completely isolated little secret. I feel like it's a Black Ajah clue but maybe there's wiggle room.
22. Mat also seems VERY aware that Moiraine is partly responsible for his current circumstances (he notes her along with Liandrin when he's saying he's not a danger to anyone). Liandrin probably read him the note that Lady Amalisa sent from Fal Dara. The show is doing such a better job of actually establishing Mat's motives for various ways he behaves than the books did -- in the books, he seemed to take against Aes Sedai for the terrible crime of... healing him? But selling him out to someone who has kept him locked up for six months and who spent that time psychologically torturing him is an EXCELLENT reason for him to feel wary about being around Aes Sedai. He's seen the worst of them! Because it's not just Liandrin and the Reds. It's Moiraine too!
And they did this in s1 too, giving Mat actual reasons for his canon-typical behavior by changing his background to one more fraught with tension.

What are your top 5 Strawmitri arguments?
Mine would be, in no particular order:
Dimitri cares about the present, therefore he doesn't care at all about the future and would be a terrible leader because of it
He's so mentally ill he can never hope to recover, and as such Edelgard did him a favor by killing him in CF
He's more at fault for the war than Edelgard because he fought back after she attacked first and unprovoked, instead of letting her take Faerghus without a fight
The entire point of Dimitri's character and of AM in general is how royalty can get away with commiting crimes commoners would be executed for, since Fleche gets killed for trying to take revenge on him but he survives in spite of all the people he killed when he was at his most unhinged
Dimitri's hatred of Edelgard is rooted in his love for her back when they were kids, which is why him killing her in AM by stabbing her with his phallic-shaped lance is supposed to be symbolic of his desire to fuck her
Oh gods, I remember I wanted to make a "redshit takes awards" once upon a time, but then I gave up lol
I haven't browsed that much about Dimitri nor given too much thought about the discourse surrounding him because laughing at the Rhea takes took way too much time, but I think I really laughed at the :
Dimitri is racist because he cuts Claude when Claude is being an asshole about the Abyss
Even if I can't forgot the
Defensive invasion
Dimitri represents toxic masculinity (the guy who has traditional "feminine" coded hobbies like sewing, who cries, who blushes calling his friends by their first names, whose biggest default and the one that leads him to his downfall is his empathy, etc etc)
Dimitri stole Felix and Annette's dads :(
dimitri is a religious extremist because he shelters Rhea who is also a religious extremist. source : trust me bro I know i have a degree in advanced bullshit
the State of Quo - as Dimitri reforms his country like his dad wanted to do but never got the chance because his head rolled from his shoulders for some reason - this one was parroted in Nopes because how dare he want a progressive change rather than a radical one !!
and last but not the least, and it's less about Dimitri than about the poor redshiter who said something like "women love dimitri because they are controled by their ovaries and they prefer a violent man who would abuse them rather than real people like me :("
Oh and also, as a french person so far removed from american politics, the "Dimitri is a centrist" take always made me laugh (Dimitri chez Bayrou?)
From your takes though, I'd rank them like this :
peepee weapon thus stabbing Supreme Leader means he wanted to fuck her and this is why he goes "cray-cray" because she didn't reciprocate his affections (and totes not because he believes she killed his father, their mother, his friends and actually starts a war slaughtering thousands of randoms)
"too cray-cray to live"
caring about the present sucks because you don't care about the future (which is totally not built on the people living in the present!)
nobles bad because they kill commoners who try to kill them :(
victim blaming (this one is so mainstream!)

♥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━♥
"Puppy?" taehyung asks as he spots you peeking around the corner of his opened studio door, tail wagging at being spotted by him. "come in. Is there something you need?" he asks, as you sit down in his chair he has, while he packs some headphones into his bag.
Taehyung and you.. It's odd. While you're both seemingly completely at ease when the others are around, you've never been alone together much during the time you've lived with them all. They playfully always play a game to decide who gets to have you sleep in their beds every night- though Taehyung never participates in it, you've noticed.
Doesn't he like you?
"I was just wondering.." you start, playing with the beads of your bracelet. "you're gonna fly to paris tomorrow, right?" you wonder, and he nods, turning around to look at you, shaking his curly hair out of his face. "could I come with you?"
He seems taken aback by that question- and ut immediately makes you nervous. Have you stepped out of line? "Puppy.. It's a fashion show." he says, and your ears droop even more than they naturally do due to their floppy shape.
"Oh." is all you say, looking down. Of course he doesn't want you to come along with him, you think. It's a fashion show- why would he bring a pet with him? "I'll go.. I'll go ask Namjoon then." you say, and Taehyung nods, turning back around to check his buzzing phone.
You practically run out of his studio, knocking on Namjoon's soon after. He opens after a moment, smiling as he let's you come inside. "what a happy surprise." he chuckles. "I was looking for you actually." he says, and you look at him in question. "I'll be taking a trip to europe, you know that right? I thought you'd like to come along. I know you love train rides, and it's been a while since we've been on one." he excitedly explains as he turns of his pc, before turning around again to face you. "puppy?" he asks, when he notices that distinctive way your body gives away your rather gloomy thoughts.
And then, your eyes get glossy.
"Oh darling, come here, come." he offers, situating you to sit on his lap, hugging him while you hide your face in his chest. "what's wrong?"
"Do you think I'm pretty? You know.. For a dog?" you wonder, and his brows furrow at that. He's aware you're an easy target for bullies on the internet for being a dog hybrid- body not as slender and delicate as a cat hybrid. And especially for your rather intimidating and bulky breed, you've been targeted before; called names, made fun of, called out for not being tall enough, not being slim enough, not being pretty enough. All of that had made no sense to him when it had happened- you're totally fine, in his eyes, and the other guys think exactly the same.
"what are you talking about? You're the prettiest girl I know." he says, emphasizing that you're not just a hybrid to him, but a person. "did you read comments again?" he sighs as he believes someone might've started an anti-hashtag against you or something, and you shake your head.
"Tae.. I asked Tae if I could come to paris with him. You know.. Cause we don't spend much time together." you say, muffled by the fabric of his sweater. "and he said.. It's a fashion show." you tell him, and Namjoon sighs again.
He consoles you until you're relatively happy again, before asking a manager to bring you back home to the dorms- leaving himself to catch his flight. On his way however, he calls up his bandmate- a surprised Taehyung on the other end of the line. "Namjoon?" he wonders, as the rapper nods.
"You really need to choose your words a bit wiser with her." he says, getting straight to the point. "I assume you didn't mean to tell her you don't want to bring her with you to paris because she's a hybrid." he says, and can suddenly hear something clattering.
"what? No, of course not!" Taehyung complains in urgency. "she asked if she could come with me and I reminded her that it's a fashion show. It's probably boring." he explains himself, and Namjoon laughs.
"well, you didn't tell her the last part." he says. "Listen. You know she's not good at saying what she wants and feels, and we both know it's only natural considering how she was raised. She really took all her bravery together and asked you to spend time with her- and you basically shot down her attempts." he explains to the singer, who's in his apartment, one hand holding the phone to his ear while the other holds his head.
"I just.. See, this is why I can't be alone with her." Taehyung sighs. "I'm not good with her like Jungkook or Hoseok." he says.
"you're not good with her because you don't spend time with her, Taehyung." Namjoon reminds, looking out the window as the car drives. "You need to start somewhere. She's nothing to be scared of." he chuckles.
Taehyung has to laugh too.
Considering your hybrid breed- a rottweiler- one might think you're constantly angry and all bark and bite, when in reality, you're the cuddliest dog hybrid they've all ever encountered. You're unique, expressive, and you've bloomed into such a pretty flower over the course of years spent with them, despite the rocky start you had with all of them in the beginning, taught to be quiet, obedient, not have opinions or thoughts or wants.
"I just.." Taehyung chews on his bottom lip. "Namjoon, I don't know how to care for her on my own at all. What if she panics, or gets scared, or sad-"
"you'll do just fine." Namjoon says. "go get her tomorrow- she's sleeping at the dorms with Hoseok tonight, but he'll leave early to record some stuff. Don't leave her alone for long." he says, before he says his goodbyes to his bandmate.
The next day, you're surprised when Taehyung knocks at your bedroom door- interior of it strangely unfamiliar to him, he notices. "Tae?" you wonder, tail instinctively wagging at the way his attention is on you. He wants to smack himself- he made you feel bad and insignificant yesterday- and yet here you are, happy to see him.
"Namjoon said you really like train rides." he says, walking up to you sitting in the middle of your bed to sit on the edge of it, looking at you. "and he's going on a hike on his trip. To museums too." he says, and you nod. "what I said yesterday- I didnt meant to say that I don't want to take you with me." he explains, and your tail stops- while his heart sinks simultaneously at the sight. "A fashion show.. Is boring. You need to sit for so long, and there's many people who take photos and crowd you. I just felt like.. You'd be better off joining Namjoon than me." he explains, and you lean your head to the side, confused.
"Museums can be boring too." you say. "And Joonie is super slow on hikes." you tell him, and Taehyung listens. "I don't care though, because I spend time with him. I don't care if the show is boring or if there's lots of people, cause you're there, right? If you hold my hand, I can't get lost, and I can sit still for a looong time, trust me!" you brag a little, by now having maneuvered onto your knees, leaning closer to him. You've been a lot more close physically than this- and yet, always only with others around. Somehow this feels a lot more.. Intimate.
Taehyung smiles. "I'll call them up then. Ask for a pretty dress for you." he says, reaching out to run your hybrid ear through his fingers- your tail loudly smacking onto the bed with every wag. "They have a spare spot for you anyways, since they know about you always potentially tagging along, so it's no problem."
"So I can come with you?!" you almost bark out, excitement making you lean even further forward. "Really?" you say, and he nods. The moment he does, you dart forwards- hugging him tightly, before you run to your closet, searching for a bag to pack.
Taehyung makes sure to ask the members if there's anything he needs to keep in mind for you; Jungkook telling him to always hold your hand so you don't accidentally run off or trip, Hoseok making sure he knows to check your bag to see if you brought along your worn down dinosaur plushy or you will be upset, and Yoongi mentioning urgently to remember to check your collar if all the Tags are there so he won't run into problems at the airport.
It goes a lot smoother than he'd expected.
You're a lot more independent than he'd initially thought- able to check in by yourself, showing your tags like second nature already so airport staff can scan them to check your data.
"What do we do if they get lost?" He wonders, carrying his and your luggage while you walk to the private jet parked outside.
"Yoongi said to call a Number I have written in my wallet, so they can lock the tags so no one can use them for something bad." you say, and Taehyung nods, keeping that in mind- just in case.
Boarding the airplane, your immediately greeted by a very happy looking Lisa- her polite bow towards Taehyung turning into excited squealing when she spots you entering as well. "Ah you're so cute! It's so nice to meet you again." She says, and you wag your tail happily. You've met her years ago, and occasionally during award shows- but the entire band isn't present often at the same time you are with the guys- and when you are, it's not well perceived if they interact with you, because of the ease fans can get upset at the slightest glance. "Are you excited?" she asks, and you nod, waiting for Taehyung to tell you to sit down- something he quietly does after noticing you waiting for it.
"It's my first time on a small online like this one." you say, and Taehyung thinks for a second- before he realizes that yes, you've not been there the first time they took a private jet because of injury. Jungkook had been feeling guilty the entire trip because he'd accidentally ran into you, making you fall and injure your shoulder. "I hope it's not like a helicopter." you pout, squirming a bit.
"Don't worry, it's nothing alike!" She reassures you. "if you're fine during plane rides, you'll be fine with this one too." she says, and you nod.
Next to you, Taehyung feels.. Oddly jealous at how easily the female idol seems to be able to connect with you, while he himself feels incredibly awkward. Though it eases up a bit when you're in the air and you decide to rest your head in his lap- napping to make the flight pass faster for you, it doesn't go away completely.
"I haven't seen much buzz ever about you and her." Lisa says after a while.
"it's our first trip together." He lowly replies, hand on your shoulder as he watches you sleep. "I'm.. I don't know. I guess I missed the perfect timing to connect with her like the other members did."
"well-" she says, stretching her arms. "you're doing it now. It's never too late, and she's clearly more than okay with being at your side." she encourages, and taehyung nods appreciatively.
In a way, he feels sorry for the female idol- the band having been forbidden to adopt a hybrid of their own by their agency, no matter if privately or as an entire group. She clearly envies him, and yet, is very polite and mature about it- rather enjoying the little interactions she gets with other hybrids, especially you.
Once at the hotel, after he'd made sure to post a picture of you sprawled out over his lap during the flight on instagram together with some of his own, he helps you change into clothes provided by the label. You're very pretty indeed- he's always noticed that, but never how pretty you are in general. Your personality is just as beautiful as your body, smile bright and honest, eyes sparkling with genuine interest in his words.
You seem okay with the photographers as long as he holds your hand- though you become shy when one of them asks Taehyung to show you a little more, overseas fans and general audience way more interested in you than back home. The singer however happily shows you off- becoming comfortable in softly coaxing you to relax as well.
The more he calms down, he notices, the calmer you are as well.
He's got you on his lap during the show, arms around your middle while you sit sideways on his leg. "you squint your eyes a lot, puppy." he chuckles. "you okay?" he asks, and you nod.
"I can't see well in the dark." you tell him. "It gets a bit better when I squint." you chuckle, and he nods. He did know that there was something with your eyesight- Jimin having mentioned it before to him, something about remembering that you don't see very well without your-
"your contacts!" Taehyung sighs. "I'm so sorry, I forgot." he apologizes, only now realizing.
"It's fine." you giggle however. "I don't understand fashion anyways." you joke, and he smiles a bit at that.
Back at the hotel, you eagerly shower and get ready for bed- crawling and hiding under ghe covers of the hotel bed, Taehyung joining after getting ready himself.
You both play around on the bed for a while, your post-shower-excitement setting in after finally being able go let go of all the excitement of the day, before You yawn and stretch, laying on your side- until tae pats the side next to him, chuckling when your tail wags, your body cuddling up to him happily. "I'm really sorry I forgot your contacts puppy." he apologizes again.
"And I still don't understand fashion anyways, there was nothing for me to see." you chuckle.
"I'll remember them tomorrow." he says, and you nod.
"What are we gonna do tomorrow?" you ask, and he chuckles, confidently placing a kiss to the top of your head- your tail under the covers wagging again, making him laugh under his breath.
"I've got no idea." he admits, grinning. "but we'll figure it out together." he says, and you nod, holding him a bit tighter.
"together." you mumble, before drifting off to sleep.
Yeah, he thinks to himself, holding you as you fall asleep with him. He really understands now why everyone loves you.

Raise your hand if you've heard of the 4 Guardian Beasts before. Anyone? If you don't, it's cool. That's what learning is for!
Tumblr media
Now, anime fans like myself may be more than a little familiar with these guys as they've shown up in more than a few properties (ex. Fushigi Yuugi) but the concept, like many things in Asian culture, was originally Chinese. Also called the 4 Symbols, the 4 Gods, and the 4 Cardinal Creatures in English, the 4 Guardian Beasts are very popular in East Asia. We'll be calling them by their Chinese name, the Sixiang, because it's much shorter than any of their English titles because it's shorter. Do excuse me if I call the beasts themselves by their Japanese names, as it's what I know them best by.
The Sixiang are an astrological concept, with each one governing a portion of the sky. Each of these 4 sections had 7 constellations consisting of parts of the beast that when looked at together shows the beast as a whole. Pretty different from Greek constellations, huh? Anyways, these 28 total constellations were very important to Chinese cosmology as each one was seen as housing a different part of the Heavens, where the gods did their business. Let's take a closer look, shall we?
Azure Dragon/Canglong/Seiryuu, Guardian of the East
Fun fact: back in ye olden days azure was used to describe a shade of green, so while there are many depictions of Seiryuu as a blue dragon a lot of really ancient art paints him green. Surprisingly, he's associates with the element of wood rather than water. His constellations house the Heavenly Gates and several parts of the Jade Emperor's palace (including the stables where a certain naughty monkey did a stint). He's generally seen as the most important member of the group as a result.
White Tiger/Baihu/Byakko, Guardian of the West
As the name suggests, Byakko is a massive white tiger that rules over all other beasts with a terrifying roar. He's said to be in tune with all 5 elements (water, fire, earth, wood, metal) but is most associated with metal. He carries the 'essence of heroes' and means business. His constellations mostly have to do with the Heavenly army, with the prison, garrison, and granary all falling under his purview.
Vermillion Bird/Zhuque/Duzaku, Guardian of the South
Often confused with a Phoenix, Suzaku is actually a distinct creature. The fact that Eastern and Western Phoenix's are very different in concept doesn't help matters, especially since cultural osmosis has led to the Eastern Phoenix becoming more and more similar to it's Western counterpart. Suzaku himself is very similar to a Western Phoenix, being associated with fire and elixirs of immortality. His constellations are very functional, housing heavenly the wells, wardrobes, kitchens, and other such things.
Black Turtle/Xuanwu/Genbu, Guardian of the North
Now I say turtle, but Genbu is a bit more of a dual creature. Sometimes they're 2 animals, a turtle with a serpent on it's back, and others it's a turtle with a long snake-like neck. Sometimes it goes full chimera and is a turtle with a snake for a tail, head included. No matter which way you slice it though, Genbu is some mix of snake and turtle. Naturally, it gets associated with the element of water. Sometimes it's even credited as once having been the turtle that carried the floating city of Penglai (which I'll get to eventually). Genbu's constellations seem to be wealth-based, as it presides over the temples, treasury, and non-military granary.
Okay, so I know I said 4 beasts, but the Sixiang are sometimes shown with a 5th member that takes it's place in the center of the group. Occasionally it's a yellow dragon to represent the Yellow Emperor, but personally I prefer when it's the qilin/kirin, the Chinese Unicorn. Now it's called a unicorn, but like many Chinese creatures it's a bit of a chimera. With the head of a ram, the hooves of a horse, legs of a wolf, body of a deer, scales of a snake, tail of an ox, and horns of a dragon. Calm and intelligent, it is often seen as a symbol of nobility and scholars. Another fun fact: the Japanese word for giraffe is kirin because of their remarkable resemblance to the mythical beast.
This was a bit of a long one, but I had fun! What about you guys?

Byler/ ST V2 Theory
Tumblr media
Ppl are definitely going to say I'm reaching- but I really want to focus on the "black-eyed Susan" which is the most relevant out of all the flowers.
The first line states the main significance/meaning is happiness and friendship.
Now we all know that Mike Wheeler didn't pick out specifically the black-eyed Susans from research about what they meant to send El a secret message that he considers their relationship a platonic friendship because El wouldn't understand and Mike sure as hell wouldn't go out of the way to find a very specific type of flower (we all know he got them at sum airport gift shop)
But we do know that the Duffers LOVE little details, and they would totally do their research for simple flower symbolism. (it's practically the most common type of subtext there is, especially in film)
The flowers aren't meant for the characters to understand, they're meant for the audience to understand.

Now, onto my favorite part about the flower symbolism- is the origin of the name.
The name for the Black-eyed Susan flower, as stated above, is derived from an 18th Century poem by the same title, written by John Gay.
The poem (in short) is about a woman (Susan/Mike) searching for her lover (William/Will) shortly after his ship docks back from war, only for him to be sent back to battle shortly after.
But if you read the first and second to last stanza- they are both obviously paralelling Mike and Will. (Susan paralelling Will, Mike paralelling William in the first stanza- vice versa in the second and last stanza )
The flower symbolism is not only hinting at El and Mike's relationship becoming platonic, and byler eventually becoming endgame but it could also be hinting at Will's new part in the supernatural plot (and him possibly getting powers)
(Now here is the poem, parralled to Will and Mike's story so far and most likely the ending)
ALL in the Downs the fleet was moor’d,
The streamers waving in the wind, when black-eyed Susan came aboard,
‘Oh! where shall I my true love find! Tell me, ye jovial sailors, tell me true,
If my sweet William sails among the crew.
In the first stanze its obviously parraleling the airport scene, both William in the poem, and Will in ST, both reunite with their "lovers" (quotations for Will+Mike since it isnt established yet) Susan and Mike, after a long time apart. (In ST though, Mike flies across the country to reunite with Will, unlike the poem where the Will in the story sails back to Susan in their hometown.)
Now, in the poem Susan- is very estatic about seeing her lover William. Just as Will is seeing Mike again after almost not talking for 6 months. But compared to William in the poem, Mike doesn't show any affection besides an awkward side hug and a measly pat on the shoulder-( but not everything can be a perfect parralell so yall are gonna have to bear with me.)
‘Though battle call me from thy arms,
 Let not my pretty Susan mourn;
Though cannons roar, yet safe from harms,
William shall to his dear return.
Love turns aside the balls that round me fly,
Lest precious tears should drop from Susan’s eye.’
--
The boatswain gave the dreadful word,
The sails their swelling bosom spread,
No longer must she stay aboard:
They kiss’d, she sigh’d, he hung his head;
Her lessening boat unwilling rows to land:
‘Adieu!’ she cries; and waved her lily hand.
The second and last stanza's, I'd like to believe is paralelling a possible confession scene from Will to Mike (a succesful one at least) - right before Will has to go and eventually battle against Vecna, since Will is obviously going to have an importance in the main plot in VOL. 2
(Hopefully it consists of the painting because how else will Will confess without a meaningfull gesture such as giving Mike a painting like he did with his drawings ever since they were little kids.)
Anyways, thanks for listening to me theorize. I hope I don't sound too insane lmao
All of this was written of the top of my head, so if you want to add onto anything, you can read the full poem here

wait wait wait hold on-- you have to share those Daddy + praise kink headcanon with us I NEED IT
What have I got myself into again 😅 but okay, I'll try. Even if my thoughts are still very vague.
First of all, a few general headcanons I have about Law and Sanji:
- Law is totally possessive (I mean, he literally stamps his symbol on everything he "owns". The man definitely has a problem.)
- I think Law in general is not really that physical-contact-guy.
- Because of his past, Law finds it hard to let someone get close to him. But if it comes to it, he would do anything to protect that person.
- Sanji has a praise kink. (I've noticed that many people have this impression. Probably it's because of his past?) In a harmless way, like towards his friends -he is euphoric and happy when they praise him- but also in a very sexual one. As it is the case with Law... But that's Law's own fault... kinda... we'll come to that later.
Tumblr media
Well, now to the actual topic: What I actually would find kinda funny would be if the discovery of these kinks were actually just the consequences of a joke.
For example: Zoro once overheard two teenagers calling Law a "hot daddy". Zoro then makes a joke out of calling Law Sanji's "daddy". I'm also pretty sure that when Nami overhears this, she just joins in for the fun. At some point Law will get it too. Which of course makes Sanji very uncomfortable. But then he notices that Law is not averse to it. Rather the opposite.
On the other hand, Law notices Sanji's praise kink just by watching him all the time. He notices how red Sanji always gets and how happy he smiles when someone praises him. Since Law also wants Sanji to look at him like that, he starts to praise Sanji for harmless little things.
Tumblr media
In the end, I can't really say or explain where Law's Daddy kink exactly comes from. Maybe because a "daddy" is someone who protects? Someone you look up to and listen to? I don't know. Only Law seems to have that answer. Maybe it will be cleared up at some point. With Sanji- I can imagine that it's just clichéd, because of his daddy issues.
(It's been going on like that in my mind for a while now. The whole thing is just the random result of a joke gone wrong, or an attempt to annoy Sanji a little. (Also from my side! It all started as a joke in my head. I was just thinking about how to embarrass Sanji for fun and then boom, daddy kink!) That's why I think even the two boys would be cool with it and tease the other once in a while.)
At the end I just want to get rid of a few other random thoughts:
- Law calls Sanji "princess" out of frustration, because sometimes he behaves very silly. Later it becomes a real pet name, which Sanji has more or less learned to accept.
- Things get so out of hand that Nami starts buying Sanji matching clothes. Shirts that say things like "daddy's princess" or something like that. I'm also more than convinced that Sanji will end up with at least one pair of panties that say "Daddy's property" (which is like the fulfilment of Law's wettest dream I guess.)
I hope this answer is even close to what you were hoping for! Unfortunately I tend to ramble a lot, which is why I often worry about missing the point. So... sorry for this long text.
Tumblr media
Whew... I'm starting to get the feeling that all my thoughts are just about Lawsan and Sanji. Maybe I should stop trying to portray everything in such detail...

Andrexi headcanons (cause what's better to do at 10 pm?)
Disclaimer: Just like how Andy + Leyley have symbolic meanings in name, Lexi also has a symbolic meaning. It's the only s/i of mine that will go by that name (I considered her more of an OC at first until I touched grass/silly/lh)
-Andrew acts, and is, a big spoon, but honestly has his moments where he wants Lexi to hold him. He likes to play with her hair. Like a lot. Like A LOT! Like A LOT A LOT! LIKE--
-They knew each other since childhood, and use to raise Leyley together. Mrs. Graves even joked about Andrew being the dad, Alexandra (kid Lexi) being the mom, and Leyley being their daughter
-Alexandra use to wake up early and come over to do Leyley's hair, since it was better than Andy just clipping on hair barrettes in random places
-Andrew likes Lexi's shyness, since he's also not one for too much PDA, aside from hand holding + wrapping an arm around her waist
-He only gets really handsy in public when someone is flirting with Lexi. Don't get me wrong, Andrew thinks Lexi's naive and oblivious nature is kinda cute, but he's internally begging her to take the damn hint before he straights up murder the guy
-Cooking is a team effort, especially when they move in together (yes, Ashley also lives with them, but tolerates Lexi being the only woman she'll share Andrew with due to [REDACTED])
-I can totally see Andrew acting all nonchalant and fatigued in a relationship, but is secretly a hopeless romantic (Ashley always teases him about his romanticism for a reason)
-Lots of romantic dates between Andrew and Lexi, more than you think. Movie nights with Lexi using Andrew's lap as a pillow, walks in the park with lots of hand holding, late night drives due to fast food runs blasting shitty music on Lexi's totally emo and mentally unhinged playlist, late night cafe dates, etc.
-A good mix of calling Lexi by her name, and even throwing in pet names if he wants to see her flustered. "Angelface", "Love/Beloved", "Babe/Baby", "Princess" just to tease her
-Yes. Lexi is Andrew's (and Ashley's, even though she's kinda beyond fixing) free therapist

in addition to being one of the Them, Scott is going to make an appearance in the history section as a former friend/lover of Jimmy. currently, I'm looking into the best ways that he could fit in. details under the cut! this one has a few bulleted lists, so I'll save you the scroll :>
at the bottom of this post is a poll!! y'all can put in your two cents on my conundrum here
in all cases they'd probably stay together for about ten years before Jimmy decides to leave or Scott dies, depending
the first draft I made takes place in 1906, where Jimmy meets Scott (a flower seller) while moping over Tango (who he hasn't seen in fifty years.) after a while, he moves into Scott's flower field. but Jimmy feels an obligation to help in the face of WWI and fakes his own death since he can't tell Scott the truth or bring himself to lie and say he wants to leave.
pros:
Tango has to know about Scott, and he could find out during the 1941 minisode. that could be a really cute moment in which Scott (now much older) says something like "you look so much like someone I used to know"
I really struggled with finding a reason for Jimmy to leave Scott that didn't have them ending on a bad note, and I don't want it to end on a bad note. WWI works as a great excuse for this
poppies were a symbol of death during WWI, meaning that theoretically, a blessing from Jimmy on Scott's flowers could've caused that. that would mean that Scott sold thousands of poppies in the years following WWI in a beautiful gesture towards a man he lost long ago
cons:
I'm not totally sold on the idea that Jimmy would even entertain the idea of friendship with Scott while he's so miserable over Tango. I really caked on the angst during the 1854 scene, so Jimmy wouldn't just get over it (he only barely does so in 1967.)
something doesn't fit about Scott knowing about the tavern. if that's somewhere he regularly goes to sell flowers, even after Jimmy "died," then he should be able to recognize the exact same building that supposedly got sold to someone else many years ago.
currently, Scott just kinda... walks into the tavern?? talk about pushy salesman
my second idea was that they met somewhere between rome (41AD) and wessex (535AD). I'm not totally sure how that timeline would work and I haven't written anything for it lol
pros:
the main pro is that I think it would be reeeeeallly sweet if Jimmy named Scotland after Scott bc "it's his place, he belonged here"
it would also not interfere much with the overarching timeline bc there's a huuuuge expanse of time (~500 years) that is given no official content, so I have a lot of space to work with
cons:
it would be a lot goofier to write bc idk much about the era, but since it's such a wide era I could probably find something to work with
I have no idea how Tango would find out about Scott if it's been hundreds of years since Jimmy saw him. since there's isn't a way that it would end happily, (either Jimmy leaves or Scott dies or something) Jimmy would hardly be volunteering that information. but Tango has to find out somehow, and I want that to be established information somewhere
my third thought was sometime during the 70s with the hippie era
pros:
obviously the theme of "the flower human" (as Tango call him in 2008) fits in fairly well with Scott lol
Tango would be aware of Scott bc he probably met Scott. we could also see Tango get into Queen music which would be kinda funny
cons:
Scott and Tango being around at the same time would be weird. I'm not a huge fan of the idea
established hippie culture doesn't lend itself to two men living alone in a big flower field, so I'm not sure what exactly I'd do with that to work it out
I'd have to take out the line "I'm in love with him, aren't I?" from Jimmy referring to Tango in 1941 bc it wouldn't make much sense to establish that and then turn it around right away
my final thought was during the short stretch of time between Edinburgh (1820s) and St. James Park (1854).
pros:
Tango is missing during this time but comes back soon after
the increased angst potential of 1854 >:) I already increased the angst of this scene and would be all for doing it again
after edinburgh Jimmy would be in Scotland anyway, clearing the tavern problem from 1906
cons:
it's a little pushy in terms of the overarching timeline. both edinburgh and st james are reeeally important parts of the story (even if edinburgh doesn't appear in the history section), and I'm not sure putting another factor in there would be a good idea
I'm also not sure what exactly would happen between them. after a while, Jimmy would spend this time worried about Tango, since he's been missing for 30ish years. would Jimmy be as worried as I need him to be if he spent that time with someone else?
ALRIGHT
currently I only have work down for 1906, but I'll probably end up fleshing out all these ideas more and posting them as bonus content :>

holy shit, the season 2 finale of the toh was so intense and that’s putting it mildly. i finished watching it almost an hour ago and i still haven’t fully processed it yet
You can say that again.
The Collector is going to be the only thing I think about for the rest of my life.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. This was King's episode, before anything else. Which is reflected in the title and in moments like where we see out of his eyes, or when he dreams of The Collector and Belos (Titan magic mayhaps?) only to wake up being carried by Willow - which was cute as hell, by the way. He saves the day, and he figures out what to do. Of course, in freeing The Collector, he also may have damned the entire Demon Realm including himself and Eda, but I'm getting ahead of myself again.
Alador wondering about Hunter is no accident, anymore than it is that a drop of Belos' remains landed on his shoulder before he crossed the door. Everyone who kept predicting that The Collector would possess Luz, or King...well, you were on the right track. I bet Belos possesses Hunter and, remembering Alador's previous words, the seeds of doubt are planted in the gang. Side note: I live for any reference to Amity "Mittens" Blight. It's just so damn cute.
Belos saying farewell to the Boiling Isles just...ugh, if I'd been holding a pencil it would have snapped in two. I'm also living for the imagery of suns and moons, and how that probably connects back to symbolism about The Collector, who is supposedly a "child of the stars." God can you tell that they're all I can think about? Stay focused, Blair. But it's a good moment to talk about how Phillip/Belos is an absolute monster and he really does genuinely think of himself as a hero. He's so damn selfish, apparently having done all this just to become Witchfinder General, so I almost hoped he would make it back to the Human Realm just to see all of his hopes and dreams dashed by a future that has no use for someone like him.
I mean, I'm no fan of Kikimora, but the way he treated her...to say nothing of what he did to The Collector...Belos probably isn't gone for good because like I said, he's totally going to be possess Hunter...but his "death" scene was, among many other things, extremely cathartic. Such a bastard. I'm also really digging the development of the hero/villain dynamic between Luz and Belos. How she helped him in the past, before realizing who he was, and how he's always known that. The way Luz takes a page from his book in this episode. Making him an offer and then double-crossing him the way he did to The Collector.
I'm torn between sobbing because Raine is probably dead, based on that final shot...and also freaking out because they literally just saved Eda's life and took her arm right off. In a lesser show, I'd expect that arm to just be regrown with magic in the next episode, but this is The Owl House...Dana, you just made one of our lead characters into a physically disabled character, and I hope to heaven that you realize how awesome that is. A little thing, might seem strange to be getting so excited about it, but what can I say? Still, if Raine is dead, I'm gonna sob. Especially since they went down saving Eda. Oh, that will tear her up inside.
The design of "Monster" Belos (or should we be calling him Phillip? It seems to be his preferred name) also really works for me and just in general, it really suits him. This is who he is underneath it all. Who he's always been. And surprisingly, it still manages to capture his emotions? When he appeals to Hunter, and the anger a second later. (Don't think I didn't catch him saying "Caleb!" either.) Or when the Collector materializes and he absolutely shits his pants. Hats off to the VA as well.
But King saves the day, and let me tell you, he and The Collector are connected by more than just this scene. More than just their history with King's father being the one who imprisoned them. (And he had a reason for doing so, he must have. That, among much else, terrifies me.) These two characters, despite being children, might as well be deities as far as The Boiling Isles are concerned. We've seen how much power King's blood (Hey! King's blood! I just realized that. Now that's clever.) can have, and The Collector can move planetary objects with a single "boop." They're apparently a "child from the stars." Whatever the hell THAT means. I wonder if The Collector (and their species? If they have one?) haven't always had some kind of rivalry with The Titans. Would tie in with that cult who hunted King.
I can't take this anymore, I need to gush about my little chaotic space child. The Collector could destroy the entire universe just for a game of jump rope and heck I'd probably join them anyway. We stan God in this house if they're just a childlike wizard with a killer fashion sense who plays games that threaten entire civilizations. Man, even The Collector's music is fucking awesome. The perfect blend of playful and circus-like with an uneasy undercurrent of absolute terror. It just feels like it would suit the background of one of their "games." The scene where they kill Belos? (Well, kill him for now) So freaking awesome? The way they reassure him that they're not angry, only to immediately follow up with the "I'm It." Is ice cold, badass, and scary af. I also have to give credit where it's due to their VA. Every single time they appear, this character is a delight to watch.
But now, though it pains me, we must move on. King's gambit, the way he saves everyone by freeing The Collector and learns how to speak their language to basically empty out The Boiling Isles (at least, I think that's what happened?) but then things kind of went south and all the heroes could do was escape - and King, my beloved, he made sure Luz made it through the portal. And then Luz reunites with Camila! (Side note, I wonder if that empty house they materalized in used to belong to the Wittebane brothers?) It's a cliffhanger, so of course we don't get to see Camilla's reaction. But something tells me that she won't be happy about Luz wanting to go back to the Boiling Isles, especially since she already promised to never return once she made it home...but then again, the only reason Luz is even here is because she was escaping the apocalypse....oh yeah, I foresee some drama.

Silk Prince/Zihao Things:
- He is somewhat based off of the Hundred Eyed Lord, an adoptive older brother of the Spider demonesses, and his abilities are based off of his as well.
- He will actually have light based abilities, much like the Hundred Eyed Lord. Such as having amazingly beautiful eyes that can hypnotize people, except for MK because he's still a spider and Mei because she doesn't fall for that pretty boy face and honestly, he respects that.
- He can make regular webs but also, he can make them glow so not only is he tying up his opponent, homie can blind them too if he wants.
- His dad was a mortal man who died a peaceful death, it's because of him that he isn't totally blinded by his ego because he does remember some humble things from his father. Him and his mother do get along but it's been a bit strained since his father's passing and Zihao having a bit of an attitude like his mom.
- If he had to rank the Spiders, his absolute favorite is Strong Spider. He was definitely one of the most nurturing people in his childhood when his mother wasn't able to provide that due to evil shenanigans. Next is Huntsman, yeah he's a bit rough around the edges but he's kinda like the grandpa that used to take Zihao hunting and teach him some cool things, and then Syntax. He's still new but he definetly doesn't baby Zihao's feelings like the other two do so Zihao loves and hates that about him. Overall, they'd die for him and even though he can be a brat, he'd die for them.
- Mei also calls him "Silky" and literally he acts like he hates it but it does make him really happy when she calls him that but only SHE'S allowed to call him that.
- I think that he'd become an older brother figure to MK. A mean older brother, yes, but he does end up caring for him because like...his kindness just reminds him so much of his father.
- Silk Prince isn't just a name, my guy literally makes silk fabrics and has an interest in designing clothes. Yes, he does use the other Spider's as human mannequins sometimes but all the outfits he wears are of his own design.
- Okay but I was thinking after Season 3, a symbolism of him slowly gaining a butterfly theme would be really cool but also, like, really funny because Mei is his cool amazing dragon girlfriend and he's just her emo butterfly boyfriend.
- He and Red Son took one look at each other and were all: "Yeah, I absolutely HATE your vibe." Sometimes Zihao gets a bit jealous of the fact Red Son has both of his parents and he projects that jealousy. They will eventually make up with each other and become petty frenemies.
- He is clever but God, does he lose braincells talking to Mei. Sorta like they're about to go into battle and he wants to say: "I love you, please don't get hurt" but it comes out like: "Don't die or I'll kill you myself."
- Someone help him, he's down so bad.

Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz announced last week that he would be throwing his hat into the online streaming ring and starting his own Twitch channel.
So far, his peak viewership has been six people.
Growing a community on Twitch is not easy. According to data from Sully Gnome and Twitch Tracker, the top 1% of Twitch streams have an average of approximately 20 concurrent viewers during their streams. The users pulling in tens of thousands of viewers each stream are the platform's top 0.1%, and account for around 74% of the total watch time on the platform.
That being said, Mr. Gaetz has an inherent advantage over a 16-year-old hoping to stream their Dungeons and Dragons campaign or their latest video game speed run — he's a Congressman. Theoretically, he has a baked-in audience.
Mr. Gaetz has 1.7m followers on Twitter, but it appears that very few — at least at this point — have followed him onto Twitch. He has 1,600 followers on the platform, but anyone can follow an account — subscriptions and viewers are what counts toward monetisation on Twitch.
Those who have followed him to the streaming site don't appear to be fans.
VICE News reports that after his inaugural livestream on Thursday — a 30 minute chat touching on the Capitol riot, right-wing conspiracy subject Ray Epps, and "wokeism" in schools with former Trump speechwriter Darren Beattie — Mr. Gaetz left his chat running while he was offline.
This is common for Twitch streamers — many will allow their chats to stay active when they're not streaming, and some continue to participate with their communities offline. However, Mr. Gaetz's viewers took the opportunity to slam him and leave vulgar ASCII images in the chat, including many depicting male genitals.
Some chat users also brought up the sex trafficking investigation that focused on Mr. Gaetz — which prosecutors have since reportedly declined to pursue — calling him a "pedo" in the chat.
The Independent has reached out to Mr. Gaetz for comment.
Based on the symbols used by the chatters, it appears most of the people mocking Mr. Gaetz appeared to be fans of leftist Twitch streamer Hasan Piker. Mr. Piker is one of the site's most popular streamers, and noted Mr. Gaetz's addition to the platform on Twitter.
"This is certainly what we needed on the platform," Mr. Piker wrote sarcastically.
Mr. Gaetz's account retweeted the post with the message "I agree. Thanks for tuning in @hasanthehun. Don't forget to subscribe!"
Mr. Piker took the opportunity to change his Twitter name to "gaetz pedo fbi investigation," ensuring that viewers on Mr. Gaetz's Twitter page would see the name if they saw the Congressman's retweet.
Tumblr media
Mr. Gaetz never deleted the retweet. Mr. Piker has since changed his Twitter name back to his original name, Hasanabi.
Further adding to the pile-on was the fact that Mr. Gaetz announced his intention to join the platform the day after Bloomberg published a bombshell report focused on "widespread child predation" on Twitch. The report claimed it found evidence of thousands of accounts that specifically target and follow kids and pre-teens streaming on the platform and leave predatory messages for the children in their chats.
Users on Twitter, including Mr. Piker, posted screenshots of their feeds, showing Mr. Gaetz's announcement alongside the Bloomberg headline "Child predators use Twitch to systematically track kids livestreaming."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mr. Gaetz joined the streaming platform at a tumultuous time; over the past two weeks, Twitch has been rocked by claims from streamers and fans that a prominent user, Sliker, was allegedly scamming them out of money to pay gambling debts, as well as an internal fight between streamers over gambling on the platform that snowballed into a sexual assault scandal implicating several notable streamers.
Sliker has admitted to asking fellow streamers and viewers for money under false pretenses and has apologised.
On top of all of that, the platform also announced it would be banning unregulated gambling sites from its streams and that it planned to change the way it paid streamers, leaving some of its top users to openly question whether they would remain on the site, according to the New York Times.
