An attempt at a Hikaku/Itama thing that I just can't seem to get past a block on. so i'm turning it over to you.
The Uchiha clan has every right not to trust outsiders with their health. Unfortunately, the Senju have healing techniques worth risking it for. Even more unfortunately, the injury Hikaku had taken to his left arm had been noticed, and even worse than that, the Hokage had suggested it would be a show of good faith for him to go to the hospital that his clan has taken charge of running. And Madara had agreed.
So now here he is, tense and nervous in a waiting room chair because just the act of being here is a signal of weakness that no shinobi should ever willingly send. The long stares and flustered glances of the people manning the intake desk haven't helped improve his mood
"Ah, Uchiha-san?" A vaguely familiar voice calls.
Hikaku looks up and locks eyes with one Senju Itama, who is one of the most immediately recognizable people in the entire village despite the fact that his reputation is entirely shadowed by his brothers'. Dual colored hair is swept up in a high bun, though some fly-aways have started to pull loose, and a few larger strands dangle loose around his ears. He's in a doctor's coat, but there's nothing on him to indicate that he pretty much runs the building.
The head of the hospital probably doesn't need to see him for a broken arm and dislocated shoulder, but perhaps this is just the good faith he's supposed to be offering being returned.
The Senju gives him a small smile, "If you're ready, I can see you now."
Hikaku nods, hiding a grimace of pain in the collar of his battle coat as he pushes himself to his feet and follows. Instinct has him examining the back so easily offered to him. There are no obvious weapons, but there's no way Itama doesn't have something on him. Medic types tend to go for senbon, which are easy to hide -- besides that, the Senju may be the shortest in his family, but he still has a good few centimeters on Hikaku and a not insignificant amount of muscle. With his broken arm, Hikaku would be at a significant disadvantage if they got into a brawl.
…Which is not going to happen, Hikaku tiredly reminds himself. Because it would cause a political incident, which would negate the whole point of him coming here. And because Senju Itama, from everything he has seen and heard, is as mild mannered as they come, and is also holding the door to an exam open for him. The look on his face is somewhere between the compassion Hashirama might wear and Tobirama's analytical gaze. Hikaku ignores it and walks into the room, arm twinging in pain as his muscles reflexively tighten as he hears the door close behind him.
"You can sit on the table there, Uchiha-san." Itama says softly. He's gotten a clipboard from somewhere and is already marking down notes on it. "Is there anything else besides the break and dislocation?"
Hikaku seriously considers lying for a moment, because he wants to be out of here as soon as possible, but good medics always seem to be able to tell that sort of thing and make your life hell for trying.
"Just some minor bruises and scrapes." Hikaku grits out, hoping that wont extend the time he's kept here even longer.
Itama hums and makes another note before looking up to make eye contact again -- which Hikaku only now registers as unusual. Most Senju still don't.
"Well, we'll deal with the worst first. Are you alright with me using a medical technique to examine your arm?"
Hikaku blinks, and Itama waits expectantly. He had been assuming thats was where this was going -- after all, what was the point of coming here if not to experience those techniques. He's not sure if he's actually being given a choice, but the illusion of one still feels kind enough to unwind some of the tension that had been building and making his shoulder ache even worse. He exhales.
"What exactly would that entail?"
The corner of Itama's eyes crinkle. Rather than upset at being questioned, he looks pleased.
"I would use my chakra in a series of specific highly compact sensory bursts to determine the severity and nature of the damage, which is painless and non-invasive. After that, if you're willing, I would use another technique to directly stimulate the regrowth and repair of injured cells. I can also temporarily reduce the pain your nerves are transmitting as well."
Hikaku mostly knows the words he's just heard, but that all seems very…
Well it seems like it's something that no one should casually admit to being able to do, which is to say that it seems very Senju.
"…How does the recovery time compare to letting it heal the natural way?"
Itama smiles at him, one cheek dimpling.
"I'd have to see the damage more specifically, but for bone breaks full recovery tends to take about half the time, and for minor fractures most people leave clear to go back to light duty."
Which means that it's way too useful to pass up on, no matter how dubious Hikaku feels about the matter.
"Alright." Hikaku agrees, "That sounds… Good."
Itama only nods. "I have to touch you for this as well. Are you alright with that?"
Hikaku can't decide if he's thankful or annoyed that he keeps asking. He thins his lips and nods.
"You can tell me to stop at any time." Itama says. He steps closer, telegraphing his movements like he knows the proximity has set Hikaku's heart thundering. If he'd had time to rest before coming here, perhaps he wouldn't be so paranoid, but he hadn't, so Hikaku watches warily and braces as Itama's hands light up a soft mind green and reach towards him.
…It doesn't hurt.
Izuna has been through this before, and he had described the feeling as being overwhelming. Like drowning in someone else's chakra, and hideously painful and uncomfortable. Granted, his wound had been far more severe, but it had set Hikaku up with a certain expectation that's not being met.
The foreign chakra brushes across his senses feather-light and almost cooling. The pain of the break fades to a dull ache, and then, slowly, to nothing at all.
"This may be a bit unpleasant." Itama warns him, and Hikaku braces for what is mostly nothing. The cool sensation grows until it's mildly uncomfortable, but not more than that. It's like a chilly winter wind that saps away all the warmth, but it never starts hurting, not even when Itama slowly lifts his arm to pop the joint back into place. The longer it goes on the more Hikaku feels the tension leech out of his shoulders. Pain relief so instant and without any apparent side effects is… Nice.
Itama steps back, looking Hikaku over with a critical eye.
"Take care to watch for inflammation and take it easy for the next few days, but you should be fine. The break was clean. Do you want me to heal the smaller things as well? Or I can bandage them up to heal the slow way."
"I…" Hikaku almost rejects the offer on reflex, but now that what is presumably the worst is over he feels a little silly over how worried he was. If he's already taking the easy way, why should he stop now? "Yes, if you don't mind."
Itama nods and reaches out again, seemingly already aware of where the worst of the cuts and bruises are.
"Thank you." Hikaku finds himself blurting, "For -- this. I've been impolite, but you've been very accommodating."
Itama smiles again, but he doesn't look up from where he's focused on Hikaku's other hand -- numbing the sting of a scrape so minor Hikaku hadn't even realized it was there until the pain was gone.
"You're welcome, Uchiha-san. And don't worry, you've been a model patient. You wouldn't believe how hard it can be to get people to just sit still sometimes."
Maybe that's not surprising; shinobi are a jumpy bunch at the best of times and being injured only makes it worse. He can use himself, today, as the perfect example of that. He resists the urge to duck his head.
"Well… I'm sure that once people know how useful this is it'll get easier." Hikaku honestly means it, too. Because he's fine -- coming off one of the worse missions he's ever had --certainly the worst in recent memory-- and he's going to go home tired and fine.
"…You'd think that, but sometimes I have trouble convincing people who have grown up with the option to use it." Itama sighs, resigned or amused, Hikaku doesn't know him well enough to tell, and continues his work, chakra easing the strain in his muscles and fading bruises to pale yellow.
"…Actually." Itama says after a moment, pulling his hands away, "Do you think if we taught more people how these techniques work, it would make them more willing to use them? I don't really know how else to encourage it short of forcing it."
…Like Hikaku basically had been, though he's not certain if Itama knows that or not. That aside --
"Oh, I...I think so, yes. I men, it's a trust thing right now, isn't it? And the more people who know how to heal like that, the more likely it is that someone who needs help will know someone who can do it."
More practically, Hikaku is pretty sure that the number of Uchiha who have managed to get that technique to work for them in all of the history he knows is in the single digits. There's clearly some secret to it that the sharingan can't copy. If Itama is willing to share even a fraction of it, the clan needs to know. Or-- the village does. Both, since that's the same thing, now.
"That is…" Itama steps back, "A good point. And I think I'm all done here, so you're free to go, Uchiha-san."
"Oh. Thank you." Hikaku slides off the table, rolls his shoulders and test his muscles. There's the burn of exhaustion, but compared to how he'd come in, it's like a miracle.
"Of course." Itama smiles at him again, "Come back any time."

This is not meant as a serious post or analysis, it’s just something that caught my attention while I was rereading manga.
Tumblr media
This is, I believe, the first time we get to see Izuna, right? He has a ponytail and long hair. Interestingly, Madara doesn’t seem to have long hair here. Could this “memory” be from the time, when Madara and Izuna are still young then? Either that, or it could be just Itachi’s imagination altering their looks, what he (Itachi) in his own mind believed Izuna and Madara looked like.
Tumblr media
Fast forward and we have Hashirama’s flashback (this is chapter 624, I think), so a memory of someone who actually met Izuna, even if just briefly. Here, Izuna looks very similar to Sasuke, only his lips still look the same. Perhaps it’s just me, but Izuna looks very different here.
And finally:

Wow, I just noticed this. Madara protected not just himself, but Obito as well.
Sure, Obito stood relatively close to him, but still...Madara didn't have to do this. He didn't have to extend his shield to cover them both...but he did. And Obito surely could have defended himself on his own at this point and Madara probably knew or at least suspected that, but he still (perhaps instinctively?) automatically protected not just himself, but Obito too.
I think deep down, Madara cared about Obito, even if a little bit. As other bloggers have pointed out, Obito wasn't the one who was supposed to be sacrificed, at least not originally, that role was Nagato's.
Also, am I the one who noticed Madara didn't even mention the fact Obito was carrying his weapons? I know that when he was about to die of the old age, he basically told Obito he can have his identity for the time being, but still...
I think Obito was someone important, no matter how low Madara has fallen and no matter how much he wanted to give up on the failed reality.

We know Madara named Konoha. But the imagery here is just beautiful. He is a supposedly just cold-hearted warrior, he is someone who spent almost every single day of his life on the battlefield, someone before which the entire shinobi world trembles in fear.
And yet, when Hashirama asks him to name their village, Madara looks at a small leaf and then through it to find the name for the village, for this dream he and Hashirama dreamed about since they were children.
The way he looks at the leaf, there is almost a desperate look on his face. It's almost as if he was putting all of his pain and his last remaining hopes into this small, delicate leaf and through its hole (a hole that is, perhaps not randomly, placed at the center of the leaf as if it symbolized a heart?) looked at the village.
What's even more interesting, is the fact that Madara has this leaf in his hand for the entire conversation, and then later on, when he's eavesdropping on Hashirama and Tobirama, he still has it.
The leaf is also a symbol of trust, which is perhaps why Madara let go of it after he heard Tobirama's ill words about his clan.
I think this image – Madara holding onto a leaf – shows the softness and kindness, and also the vulnerability in Madara's soul. How many people just randomly decide to catch a leaf and then name something precious after it? This shows Madara's humanity. It shows Madara outside of the battlefield and war. A small and on top of all of it fractured leaf (remember, there was a hole in it), is perhaps not something most would find beauty and peace of mind in, but it seems Madara did.

Personal opinion and rant ahead:
Honestly, characters like Madara and Sasuke (also Nagato, Konan, Neji etc.) teach a lot more about "never giving up" than Naruto Uzumaki.
These characters at some point in their lives lost everything they ever had, lost all hope, but still kept going, trying to change the world for better, still fought like madmen for their rightful place in the world. Maybe they used wrong methods, maybe they weren't 100 percent right, but they still kept going.
They kept trying to climb their way out of their own grave, a grave other people dig for them.
If that's not about never giving up, then what is...?
To add: this is not to say Naruto never suffered, because he did. And a lot. But the other characters...had much bigger odds against them.

My #1 post of 2022
Why did Izuna decline Hashirama’s offer?
“Due to having fallen victim to the Curse of Hatred like many of the other Uchiha, Izuna was unable to see the greater good outside of his clan. When Hashirama offered to have their clans join forces to eliminate the non-stop wars and heavy blood-shed, even willing to heal Madara's younger brother, Izuna willingly went to his grave telling his brother not to trust the Senju as it would mean the demise of their own clan, despite the Senju clearly outclassing the Uchiha.” (Source)
This is quoted directly from the Narutopedia and I would like to analyze further, why I think Izuna declined Hashirama’s offer. So let’s look at things from Izuna’s perspective to understand his distrust for Senju:
He probably lost a close friend, or another very precious person (e. g. Tajima) whose death gained him Mangekyo Sharingan, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they died at the hands of Senju, since they were at war with each other (yes, I know Itachi said both Izuna and Madara killed their friend to gain power, but Itachi’s version is unreliable)
He lost his brothers, and their blood is likewise on Senju’s hands
Just by listing these two reasons alone, it should be clear Izuna’s distrust was very justified (at least from his perspective). Why would he trust those who took his family, his clansmen, and perhaps his closest friend from him? However, it is also important to note that the circumstances when the offer was made matter greatly and shouldn’t be overlooked when analyzing this situation.
Tumblr media
This is the scene in manga, where Izuna declines Hashirama’s offer. First of all, I would love to point out one thing – Hashirama wasn’t even talking with Izuna in this scene, only with Madara. You might be thinking “oh, but that’s because Hashirama knew Madara and was his friend”, and yes, that is correct and could be true. However, from Izuna’s point of view:
Hashirama’s brother, Tobirama, just mortally wounded him and Hashirama didn’t even mention this when he was offering a truce. Hashirama’s first words were “Madara, you cannot win against me”, and with these words, Hashirama is proclaiming his higher status (of power), he is certainly not offering peace, at least not yet. Only afterwords Hashirama proceeded to talk about how the wars would eventually stop if their clans joined forces. There is not a single mention of Izuna in any of this. I repeat: not a single mention of Izuna. Why would Izuna accept a truce from a clan whose one member just mortally wounded him and the other talks, as if he wasn’t even there? As for Hashirama offering to heal Izuna; I reread the chapter in the manga and I see NO mention of Hashirama offering to heal Izuna. I don’t know, when and where was Hashirama supposed to give this offer, but I just don’t see it anywhere in chapter 624? Hashirama offered his hand to Madara, yes, that is a gesture of peace, but, and I repeat AGAIN – he didn’t say anything about Izuna.
From Izuna’s point of view, it’s also quite logical why he would think Hashirama is only trying to deceive them. Hashirama only offered the truce after Izuna was mortally wounded, in other words, after he (Hashirama) knew Madara would be in an incredible emotional distress due to his little brother dying and therefore would be much more likely to accept the offer. I can see how that would look suspicious in Izuna’s eyes.
I will not even comment on the “ victim of a curse of hatred” part as other amazing bloggers have already made great posts defying and critically analyzing this pseudoscience. I will only state that Izuna was clearly concerned with the greater good of his clan. And again: why would he trust Senju? Why would he, heck...why should he trust his murderers?
Lastly, Izuna foresaw where this so-called peace would lead to even before Madara did. He ended up being right.

yo i would love to hear some of ur trans yam headcanons :) (also ps ur art is breathtaking and whenever i see it reblogged on my dash i always come here anyway to read ur tags bc they r so! good!)
thank u 🥺🥺🥺 god im sorry this has been sitting in my inbox for a couple days ksdjghsdkjgh not only have i got a LOT of thoughts to put here (this is only a selection of the bigger thoughts skdjghsdkjhg) i was also super busy the past few days!!!! ty for ur patience, ur compliments, and for inviting me to ramble abt my favorite guy!
maybe the one constant in all trans people is just like. our decision to intentionally and purposefully create ourselves, to forced into an identity by outside forces and to turn away from it in search of something else, and that’s ultimately what makes captain yamato read as a trans character to me! He goes through so many identities, and they are meaningful to him, but you can also clearly tell that he’s searching for something that really fits him.
I don’t really have a lot of firm thoughts on what his specific identity would be, I’ve seen some great nonbinary yams, some lovely genderfluid yams, trans guy yams, there’s a great variety and i delight in them all!
I tend to imagine him as transmasculine and nonbinary but male aligned (which means he’d feel at least a partial connection to or comfort with masculinity) and while there are a bunch of labels for this experience of gender (demiboy, bigender, etc etc) i don’t see him as somebody who would use any specific labels, I feel like he’d keep his own experience of his gender fairly private! He’d prefer and be fine with masculine-coded terms of address, and happy enough passing as a guy.
AHH and on names...
I think Kinoe is the only name that I really see as like. a genuine deadname. It’s a name that means “The First” to my understanding, and so like, probably refers to him having the genetics of the first. Therefore, it’s kind of. literally a name referring to him as his biology...boy thats as deadname as it gets, huh? kill that shit and also danzō
Tenzō is also a name thats given to him, but to my understanding (all I know about the anbu arc is picked up thru osmosis lol) it’s a name that’s given to him twice, with affection. Once from Yukimi, who sees him as her brother (not a vessel for the first hokage’s powers, probably for the first time ever—even if it’s still another person’s name) He takes the name, gladly! Unfortunately danzō. anyway,
Later, when he starts to introduce himself to the non-root Anbu as Kinoe, Kakashi cuts him off and names him to the anbu as Tenzō. To my understanding: it’s a name at rest, not a name for one singular mission, but a name for his entire time in Anbu. It’s the name he keeps the longest. Again, it’s a name that’s given to him to him by somebody else, but it’s one that is given with the intention to free him of Kinoe, and all that Kinoe had to be.
(A note on him getting annoyed with Kakashi for calling him Tenzō in main-plot:
Most of this is of course based off of personal experience, but I find it hard to believe that he would actively dislike Tenzō as a name since it was given with such sweet intentions—most of my names have been gifts, and the only one I’ve actively taken out of rotation has been bc i cannot stand the person who used it, and the way it was used, and while Anbu was certainly bad for Yamato...I don’t think it was quite that bad. I think him telling Kakashi to stop calling him Tenzō has more to do with the use of it where it doesn’t belong—for example, while it’s not exactly a name, I am happy to be called “mokutone” here, and you may notice my friends calling me by another name, but if any of those friends called me mokutone in DMs, I would be bothered by that.)
Yamato starts off as an empty codename, given to him for the purposes of his team 7 mission by the Hokage, but I think it gets such a loving and warm association from just...using out in the sunlight, with these kids that he comes to think so fondly of (he’s such a dad. god. he’s such a fucking dad) and with the friends he makes going out drinking and actually having time to socialize—and that means a lot! I think Yamato is probably the name which becomes most meaningful and like a home to him by the end of the series. This is the active name, the name where he is most himself. It’s vital for him to have that space to grow into!
But that said, I personally feel like, if he were to continue beyond the edges of the story, this would not be the final name he bears. He’s probably well aware that a single name cannot contain who he is, or who he wants to be, and while being Given a name can be a beautiful thing (like i said, most of my names are gifts! i treasure them.) I think that, for his character arc, I would like him to name himself at some point. Even if it’s a name that only exists for private spaces, I want him to complete that self determination, to at least try it out, even if ultimately Yamato is the name everyone else will know him by.
Physical Transition Stuff
i will confess i hurt to imagine these shinobi binding 😭😭 even if an individual is binding safely (well made binder, no more than 8 hours, AND No Physically Intense Activity) they stand to risk hurting themself! In real life we gotta balance out the physical pain and the pain of dysphoria, but this is naruto and I’m Gonna Play Some Headcanon Games!
If chakra is both a kind of spiritual energy as well as directly connected to the body (as we learned in the hyūga fight) then it stands to reason that by manipulating ones own chakra, they can manipulate the body, or at least the way the body changes (such as naruto’s healing factor)
This probably is not the safest thing to do unless you’re a mednin or following the directions of one, LMAO
The second the hell of puberty started up for Tenzō he tried to hold it back by sheer force of willpower + chakra manipulation alone
but, manually controlling one’s chakra is like trying to prevent a stream from flowing with your hands alone, which is to say: an exhausting uphill battle.
He’d probably only be doing it on his down time and not on a mission, but even still the most I bet he could make it doing that without getting figured out is two months.
Luckily blockers are readily available, Tenzō just had no idea and, gender being a private experience for him, was trying to handle the whole thing entirely on his own. Soon after attempting to self-regulate hormones him-fucking-self like a very valid but desperate fool, he gets an appointment, gets a prescription, and can chill out and not have to be as hellishly aware of his body constantly.
Konoha mednin will say trans rights even if the village itself is garbage, this series is so god damn weird already, nobody can tell me a ninja taking hormones is somehow weirder than a ninja taking his dead best friends genetic superpower eye.

TWO WEEKS, THREE SPARS, AND ONE VERY EMOTIONALLY DRAINING CONVERSATION LATER:
Tumblr media
u might think kakashi is passing him a water bottle and they both look so exhausted bc its post spar but no. physically theyre fine, but the emotional toll of having to talk about something either of them care at all about? miracle they survived.
#lesbians4tenten#Tenzō#yamato#headcanons#kakashi says that so heavily bc both of them hate going to the hospital but blood tests are necessary for HRT usually#also kakashi is definitely trans as well. i have less headcanons about that bc i see him as like. Even More Private than yamato#(he hides 3/4 of his face. trans icon. also personal privacy icon.)#so like skdjghdskjhg him getting involved is not a moment of Concerned Cis Meddling but like. 'ghghhg this is bad. i gotta step in'#i hc that like he was one of those kids that by the time he was four he was like hey dad im a boy and sakumo was like. fuck ok!#i guess i got a son now!#yamato just did not think about it much#also while i see him having long hair as inherently him repressing his identity it has nothing to do with long hair being 'feminine'#esp bc most of the older men in naruto have long hair. sakumo j*raiya orochimaru madara the whole hyūga clan of men#but instead much more to do with. him repressing being tenzō in order to be kinoe for danzō#and if hashirama had long hair. and all he is is a weapon for hashiramas power to be used through. he too will have long hair.#its also why i wont draw yamato with long hair. while he is handsome with long hair...and an argument COULD be made for him reclaiming it#i feel like aesthetically it represents a return to a relationship he had with his body and with the idea of hashirama#that i am not interested in exploring#perhaps in sage mode it goes very long. and then he has a friend cut it off for him every time#that i could draw#ANYWAY I think everyone should have as many names as they want. you want to be called something? that's your name now congratulations#trans? cis? not sure? doesn't matter the world is your oyster and you can be called anything you want#if people dont respect that theyre jealous and being rude af lmao#image desc in alt text#for all thats worth

the one and a half body problem, 2 years out?
For the 'where are they now?' meme
Two years out, they're still showing god to non-believers in the contested territory at the wind-fire borders. (River? Rain?)
"Do you ever worry that we're going to run out of Sand nin," Sakura wondered when she emerged in a cloud of steam from the bathroom. She was in that perfect sweet spot: still floating on the sanctified high of sacrifice, but clean from the shower. Her hair was curling around her shoulders. She was warm and her insides felt liquid and golden—even the parts she'd cut through earlier. Her knitting injuries throbbed, each little step a delight to her senses. Hidan hadn't moved from the spot where she'd left him, sprawled out on the floor of their rented room with a lance buried in his guts. But he was done praying. It wasn't like she was interrupting. "Uh," he rasped, looking down the lean-muscled, broken length of his body at her. "No?" Hidan's face said that he didn't worry about many things very often. She couldn't really summon much true urgency at the thought of running out of them, exactly. But they did run through Sand-nin at a ferocious pace... She sat by his side, running her fingers idly down the lance and making him hiss. His teeth, bared, were rimmed in blood. "That fuckin' hurts, Sakura," he growled, deep in his chest. He didn't tell her to stop, though. A second later he exhaled, wet and hard and noisy, spraying blood onto his own chest with the force of it. "They're not going to stop fucking each other, dummy. There'll be more." But it took nine months to incubate a ninja, and even more to make them an adult ninja, and it took her about forty five minutes to kill one. It probably seemed slower, to the Sand-nin. "I suppose they'd be foolish to give up their territory in Fire country," she thought, "no matter what the inducement is..." (Running out of Sand-nin to kill was bad. And so was never running out of Sand-nin to kill, because that meant they were still out here, running into and out of in Fire country, where they surely had no business.) "Fire country's not all that," snorted Hidan. He must have got tired of her messing with his weapon, because he pulled it free with a sick squelch and an agonised grunt. His arm went limp. He dropped it with a clatter. "Ungh." Fire country wasn't interesting to Hidan, of course, but he was from Hot Water: damp, sunny and humid, full of fresh water, bright animals and natural resources. In Wind country, which was mostly barren desert, the Fire country territories really were 'all that'. Even if all they'd had was Hashirama trees, it'd have been worth it for the lumber alone. "We're not gonna run out," Hidan said finally. His body was relaxed now, and his eyes were closed. The afterglow of his sacrifice. Sakura glanced towards the bodies. They should probably check out before those started to smell. "I was just thinking we might go somewhere else for a while. Kakuzu has been covering his trail well but there was a citing in Snow not that long ago." One eye cracked open. "Snow country." "Mm." Hidan contemplated it. "Yeah, all right. Snow country next. Why the hell not."

Irenic. (Tobirama x OC)
Tumblr media
Sometimes life is decided in a mere second. A decision Akiko Uchiha, younger sister of Madara Uchiha, believes in with all her heart - and yet one that seemingly cost her everything. But for as long as she could remember, she had one dream: peace. And for this dream, she is forced to give up everything indeed. Yet sometimes the brightest things are born of the deepest tragedies and thus, when Akiko Uchiha took up her arms and ran, she had no idea what fortune had in store for her.
Finally, the first part of Akiko’s story! I’ve been sitting on the concept of this story for well over a year so I’m very happy to finally post this first part. It’s not finished yet, but it’s going to be long - there’s just so much I guess? Since Tumblr already gave me headaches when posting lengthier chapters, I’ll stick to AO3 - but I’ll post excerpts here. Thank you so much @kuramakakashi and @kaiseaya for beta’ing!!
Warnings: Grapic violence, (canon) character death, canon violence, enemies to friends to lovers, slow burn, hurt/comfort, various other kinds of violence I’ll tag in further chapters. Length (this chapter): 7,7k Read here on AO3!
Excerpt below:
Turns out no weapons were needed to ignite the fuse, but simply a remark Tobirama hadn’t even made to particularly sting. In hindsight, he cynically figured Izuna Uchiha may or may not have been waiting for it.
The battle that ensued followed much the same old pattern: life or death. Hashirama and Madara were locking proverbial antlers after his brother had pointlessly tried to salvage the situation by reprimanding Tobirama; however Izuna’s own fiery temper set off a couple of Senju and the big, bad landslide had caught them all.
Izuna had singled in on Tobirama - a worthy foe, of course.
Fortune was not on his side today. For all his wit, his proficiency with both speed, his jutsu - specifically his hiraishin - today - today the Uchiha had the upper hand. Maybe Tobirama’s thoughts briefly had been occupied with a distant, frustrated longing for peace. Or the absurdity of this fight - this whole meeting.
“This is your end, Senju,” the dark haired, lean man spat before he raised his katana to strike down.
Tobirama was on his back. Frankly the situation was ironic - laughable, really. He’d die for this dream, his brother’s idealism, his brother’s  idiocy-
A resounding, clear and utterly stern voice called out. “Stop, Izuna!”
His eyes opened again. In front of him was a woman, black hair flowing in the wind, the Uchiha crest adorning the back of her clothing just over the back piece of her chest armor. Her arms were spread out protectively, the flare of her chakra signature a beacon to behold for Tobirama’s fine sensor skills he had kept activated ever since the meeting had begun.
Instinctively, he made good use of the break of the battle’s rhythm to twist and grab his odachi - he would get another chance to live. An enemy bared their unprotected back to him like this, what was she? Insane? Too bad for this woman - another fool it seems, just like his -
Brother?
As though on cue her head whipped around and her obsidian eyes bored into his scarlet gaze. That face - this was Akiko Uchiha, the orchestrator of his delightful occasion on the Uchiha’s side. Her expression was emotionless. A single eyebrow quirked up and the unspoken question hung in the air.
Will you kill me now, Tobirama Senju?
His grip on his weapon grew tighter.
He should. The enemy had proven themselves to be untrustworthy once more, unable to overcome their hatred and forego revenge to seek peace. She had served herself on a silver platter by standing with her  back  to him, a now again armed enemy. Down on the ground maybe, but with enough time to get up. Or even begin to sign for a jutsu, anything.
The moment passed.
Izuna bellowed. “Are you insane, Akiko?! This was my chance!”
For the fraction of a second her gaze held Tobirama’s still. The next moment the steely mask fell and her eyebrow lowered, then both turned up. She looked regretful now. The aches of many, many years bearing down on her in a single moment as sadness encompassed the woman that was the reason he got to see another day. Tobirama clenched his jaw so tight the muscles hurt and he began to scramble to his feet, weapon in hand. The woman took a deep breath, her head whipped around to face the man who nearly had been Tobirama’s demise.
“This is undeserving of you, Izuna! We were supposed to  negotiate, and you attacked a man who came in peace!”
Her voice - he wouldn’t forget the sound of her voice. Such a firm, undaunted sound, bereft of any sorrow he had just seen. And yet there was the slight tinge of a shake in there. A tremble of fury? Or doubt? It felt as though she was well aware right now, she was treading on thin ice.
Ground that might break away under her at any minute.
He didn’t stick around to listen to the rest of their argument. Read the rest here!

Under the Mistletoe with the Akatsuki // Part Eight // Kakuzu
What is with this group and wasting their free time doing such inane and pointless things? The old guy can think of at least 50 other activities (the majority of which involve making money) that everyone could be doing, rather than lining up to kiss each under a little green plant. When it’s his turn in the spotlight, he tries as hard as he can to back out of his “obligation” ... but Pein (and Kakuzu’s own persistent partner, Hidan) insist that Kakuzu participate. Kakuzu sighs and nods; he’s smart enough to know when he’s been defeated. However, Pein should know that Kakuzu will be adding a little extra money to his paycheck that week, for “hazard pay”.
Pein
Nagato was more interested in Kakuzu joining his group than any of the others. Immortality, money-sense, expertise and wisdom ... this is the man who survived the wars of the past. This is the man who survived the mighty Hashirama, God of all shinobi. Still, Nagato is no fool; he realizes that Kakuzu’s number one priority in life isn’t the Akatsuki, but money. Kakuzu would probably (and had likely thought about) betray them all in exchange for a tidy sum. So Nagato (as Pein) works to keep Kakuzu content enough to remain loyal, including making him the group’s treasurer and giving him complete control over everyone’s finances. And Kakuzu remains highly useful; strategizing, completing missions twice as fast (and ten times as efficient) as his younger teammates. Pein approaches Kakuzu and gives him a light kiss on the forehead, before returning to his room. He reminds himself to speak to Kakuzu later; he has some ideas about weapons he’d like to procure for the group, and needs to see if it would be financially feasible to do so.
Konan
Kakuzu genuinely likes Konan, and appreciates her company. Many men of Kakuzu’s generation were raised on the belief system that women were solely meant to be wives, child-bearers, and home-makers; to call a female a ninja was deemed unthinkable. But Kakuzu was a rarity in that he never saw this as being the case; man or woman, one’s inner strength was all that mattered in regards to being a shinobi. He’s spoken with Konan at length about her childhood, and the trauma she endured, and he knows that this little blue-haired lady is a sight tougher than a LOT of people (and Kakuzu’s met quite a few in his long life). Konan walks up to him and he smiles; it’s rare for Kakuzu to smile, but Konan brings it out of him. “Good evening, Kakuzu-san. I think it’s my turn.” He nods, and slips off his mask so that his lips are exposed. He leans down and very, very gently kisses her cheek. Her blushing skin is soft and her smile is beautiful as she thanks him and steps away, to let the next person go.
Kisame
Nobody knows this about Kakuzu (and he fears he would be mocked if they did), but the old guy puts a lot of emphasis on the idea of exercise. Five hearts is a lot of responsibility, and staying healthy is how Kakuzu intends to keep living forever. So every night, when the others are asleep and after he’s done with his reading, he’ll spend some time in his room exercising. One night Kisame passed by his open door and saw him using a pair of heavy books as make-shift weights. The next evening Kisame came to Kakuzu’s room with a set of real barbells , which he casually gave to Kakuzu with the admonition not to overdo it. Kakuzu greatly appreciated the gesture (and the unspoken support), and the two have been good friends ever since. But ... a kiss between them would just be too strange, so Kisame comes up with a better option: an arm-wrestling match, Kisame grabs the kitchen table and two chairs and sets them up under the mistletoe. Of course the rest of the Akatsuki gathers to watch, hooting and hollering and placing bets on who will win. Kisame and Kakuzu are both fairly evenly matched, so that challenge goes on for a while. Finally, with a final grunt of exertion, Kakuzu is able to slam Kisame’s hand into the table. Everyone claps, and Kisame laughs and tells Kakuzu that he’s “one tough son of a bitch”; high compliment coming from a man who was half-shark.
Itachi
Out of all the members of the Akatsuki, Itachi was by far the least problematic of the younger ones. Quiet, thoughtful, quick and efficient in completing missions. And polite; always forthcoming with “please” and “thank you”, and never failing to use honorifics with the others, even though some of them (ie Deidara and Hidan) don’t show him that same respect back. One time Kakuzu had caught a cold that stubbornly hung on for several days. Itachi came to his room every day with a cup of congestion-easing tea, something that Kakuzu didn’t ask for, but greatly appreciated nonetheless. Itachi comes up to him and nods. “Kakuzu-san.” “Itachi-san.” Itachi leans up and gives him a light kiss to the cheek, and Kakuzu is struck by a particular urge — to hug this kid. Something about him, perhaps everything about him, seems like a cry for parental love and affection. Kakuzu resists this odd impulse, but Itachi seems to sense that it’s something he wanted, because he leans over again and very briefly puts his arms around the older man. “Thank you,” he murmurs, before walking away. Kakuzu watches him go, slightly shaking his head.
Tobi
Tobi gives Kakuzu an uneasy feeling deep within his heart(s). Running around, speaking loudly, eating nothing but candy and sweets, acting like a complete fool — it’s an act. Kakuzu has never been more convinced of anything in his life. The only question is, why is Tobi putting on this act? To deceive them all into a false sense of security, before striking? Kakuzu has hunted bounties a good deal of his life, and a lot of the more difficult ones to catch have acted EXACTLY the way Tobi does, in order to throw off potential bounty hunters. Kakuzu learned to see through them, the same way he sees through Tobi. But to tip one’s hand and give away what you know is unthinkable in the chase and capture game, so Kakuzu never lets on what he actually believes. “Oh boy Kakuzu-san; does Tobi get a kissy now?!” Kakuzu nods, and Tobi slides his mask halfway off (Kakuzu notes the lines on the side of his face; accident, most likely. Possibly a disfiguring one) and the strange glint of his eye. Before Tobi can act, Kakuzu puts a hand on his face and kisses his forehead. “There. Now go.” Tobi slides the mask back on and hurries away with his usual chatter and giggling, and Kakuzu reminds himself to loom through the bingo book later for bounties with visible scarring on the left side of the face.
Zetsu
Five hearts means more blood needed to sustain said hearts. More blood means a stronger scent. A stronger scent means ... Kakuzu smells delicious to someone like Zetsu. Zetsu approaches him and looks around quickly; the two are alone. His brain runs through every possible scenario in which he could successfully kill and eat Kakuzu. He’s victorious in a few ... but most end with him mutilated by the man’s tentacles, and having to face the wrath of Pein on top of everything else. So he simply sighs, flicks out his tongue to taste the saltiness of Kakuzu’s cheek, and walks away again. Just that one taste was almost enough to make zetsu throw restraint to the wind and eat his fill, so he leaves before he can do anything he’ll regret. Kakuzu wipes off his cheek in mild disgust ... in a group full of freaks, Zetsu certainly seemed to take the cake.
Deidara
Kakuzu still remembers the day they brought this kid into the group. And that’s exactly what he was; a kid. Barely 15 years old, with a powerful “gift”, and full of anger at a village he felt betrayed him in not trying to understand his unique sense of ‘art’. Fast forward several years later and Deidara had changed, and most of that change was the better. Kakuzu could only surmise that the kid matured due to the constant council and guidance of his older and wiser partner Sasori; Kakuzu feels mildly jealous that Sasori was able to reign some measure of improvement over HIS young partner, but Kakuzu couldn’t do a thing with Hidan. Still, though, even Sasori hadn’t been able to completely tame the kid, as evidenced by Deidara managing to get BOTH arms blown off in a tussle with some Konoha nin. Kakuzu had been tasked with sewing his new arms back on, but to the kids credit, despite his painful the procedure had been, he didn’t utter a sound. Had even thanked Kakuzu, twice, afterwards. Deidara walks up to him and looks almost shy; 19 years old now and still with the face of a child. Kakuzu leans down and kisses the kid’s forehead, again noting his soft and smooth — and LONG — his hair was. It sways as Deidara walks away, and Kakuzu wonders how much he could get for those luscious locks, from the right buyer.
Sasori
Respect. Out of all the words that Kakuzu could use to describe how he felt about Sasori, Respect was at the top of the list. And the funny thing was, Kakuzu hadn’t even met the REAL Sasori until almost a year of being in the Akatsuki. The two had been sent on a mission, and at night, near the campfire, a soft metal sound made Kakuzu turn his head. It was a small, slender redhead, emerging from the being that Kakuzu had THOUGHT was a real person. The two had looked at each other for a while, and then started a game of cards as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened. As time went on, the two became closer. They both shared an interest in/knowledge of medical jutsu and procedures, and would often come to one another with questions or with articles on different medicines. Kakuzu nods at him as he walks up, and Sasori does the same. He thinks about it, bends down and kisses Sasori’s left cheek, and Sasori smiles at him, bidding him a quiet Good Evening before going back to his room.
Hidan
“Hey old fuck; you’ve been dying to get your hands on my sexy body all day, haven’t ya, pervert?” Kakuzu would roll his eyes at Hidan’s comment, but at this point, he’s ridiculously used to the things his partner says and does. As he looks at Hidan’s face, he wonders, and not for the first time, whether this is a punishment of sorts. Gaining five hearts and creating a kind of immortality only came for Kakuzu at the end of a long and bloody road, one paved with the unwilling sacrifices of other people. Was it Fate, that the Gods had put THIS man, this loud, overbearing, foul-mouthed heathen, into his path? And as the one person who just might be immortal, too? Hidan often joked about “When all these other assholes bite the big one, me and you might as well get married, bastard.” But what in the world was he saying? Surely he was joking; why would someone as young and attractive as Hidan want to be with Kakuzu? Kakuzu who was heaven knows how many times Hidan’s age, and — “So we gonna slobber each other or what?” “You’ve got a big mouth, brat. Learn to shut up once in a while.” “MAKE me shut up, fuck-face.” So Kakuzu grabs Hidan around the waist, tilts him back, and sinks into his lips. Kakuzu’s mouth is rough and scarred but Hidan’s is smooth and soft, and the contrast creates a dizzying effect for both men. Hidan grasps Kakuzu’s shoulders tighter, leaving slight nail-prints in Kakuzu’s flesh. Their lips are touching but in this moment it feels like everything is touching, even their very souls (if either of them still had one, that is). When Kakuzu finally breaks the kiss and pulls Hidan back up, the white-haired immortal seems fairly disorientated ... but that doesn’t stop his mouth. “You’re an even bigger pervert than I thought, old fuck. Who the hell said you could stick your tongue in my mouth?? And why —” Kakuzu suddenly reaches out and grabs Hidan’s face with both hands, this time pulling him forward into a very soft, closed-mouth kiss. “Better?” Instead of a smartass answer, Hidan simply nods; and now he’s smiling as he walks away. If he were to turn around at any point, he’d surely gasp; because Kakuzu’s smile was even bigger than Hidan’s own. “Stupid kid,” Kakuzu mutters to himself, still smiling as he makes his way back to his room.

Word Count: about 4k

[<<<CHAPTER ONE]
The due dates that Tobirama gave you are more reasonable and flexible than you thought. You try to find something to complain about so you can relay it to Madara later and earn a small smile from him, but no, there is no reason to complain about it. The only thing you want to complain about are his so-called rules. Tobirama is not about leisure or lightening up, though that is not a bother to you if you are going to be honest. Planning to mess with him a little is just an attempt to wipe off that serious face of his. You want to know him based on what you see from him, not from what other people have told you.
However, you also do not want to mess things up. You are determined to work as hard as he does for this project because it is special to the village and for the children that are going to be attending the Academy.
Also because you know you’ll get paid for it. You have been running low on money these days ever since you bought your own place.
Now that you are older, you wish you had the proper education to be a shinobi. You have to learn most of your skills along the way and apart from your family who had basically banished you, and even now, you are still learning as there are a lot of things that you missed.
Now, the children that are going to grow up here have something better for the future. They have more choices and bigger chances to become good shinobis.
You get settled in your bed, which is literally the only furniture your place has. It is your dining table, your workplace, and also your resting place. Your weapons are littered on the floor, and your swords are leaning against the wall in one corner of the room. The books and the scrolls given to you lay open or stacked near your bed where you can reach for it. Some clean laundry you have yet to get to sit on the foot of your bed, and the space you are currently lying on is the only space your bed can make for you at the moment.
Quaint, but it has a lot of potential.
Your new home, which is situated just at the edge of the village and newly built, is a home for civilians and also other shinobis who are not part of a clan, or those who rather have a place for themselves. This is a sign that the village is growing, and more and more families are becoming involved with it.
You force yourself to go through the many materials that you need to read and study up on for the rest of the night until midnight, and you begin to write your suggestions after going through the material once again. You are good at absorbing information, but at the same time, you have trouble keeping still for a very long time. Sometimes you have the unfortunate ability to memorize the wrong things because your mind zeroes into whatever your brain wants to obsess over.
However, you have made it this far. You can adjust.
You hope.
//
You are pretty sure that Tobirama is sending you around the village in a goose chase just so that he can work on the curriculum himself. It’s obvious he did not want you near him with all those rules about preserving his boundaries. The said goose chase sounds reasonable enough–talk to the members of the clans, the ones who are the keeper of their knowledge and history and write them down. He did not even look you in the face when he sent you away, he just gave you a list of what to ask the clans residing in Konoha and a blank notebook and a scroll for you to record all of the information in.
This whole ordeal occupied you for the whole day and it also happens to bleed through the next day, in which you are convinced Tobirama has completed at least half the work.
The thought does not make you happy. You want to do something, damn it. You feel like your life depends on it.
Another day passes, and this time, Tobirama has you looking for artists, merchants, inventors and other skilled people in Konoha and recording their name and the location to find them. This part you understand well because you know that Hashirama wants to expand on other skills, but it feels so tedious and it makes the day longer. Not to mention, you do not really know anyone since you have been busy polishing your skills with Madara. Now that you think about it, you spend an awful lot of time with the man, ever since you came here.
Before you know it, you are breaking into a run towards the Hokage mansion.
Tobirama cannot be left to his own devices. You will not let him take this from you.
You find the white-haired man seated on his usual spot, hand poised elegantly over a sheet of paper and eyes moving along the lines of a book he is reading.
“Finished already?” Tobirama says in a very flat tone.
“Yeah, of course, I already know the people to put down.” Okay, that was a lie, and you know Tobirama had caught that because he glances at you briefly with narrowed eyes.
You walk up to him and you lay out the information you gathered today.
“Where’s your family from?” Tobirama straight up asks you without any preamble. The expression on his face does not change though you can feel that he is bothered by you.
You are taken aback by a beat, but you have no problem answering it. You have memorized the lines that you have to say that it begins to feel true. “They are a little far north from here, but they’re just traders, merchants, skillsmen.”
 “Of what?”
“With the right amount of money, anything.” You say in an even, but casual tone. “They don’t like shinobi, so I left to make a living of my own.”
You can tell Tobirama did not like your answer. He puts his pen down and you feel him scrutinizing you.
"You have any friends?" He immediately follows up.
However, you have long mastered the skills of deflecting and only letting people know certain things about you. They always see what they want to see in you, never bothering to put two and two together that you are just painting a pretty picture for them to look at.
 "Too many," you reply vaguely.
Tobirama sighs, and his eyes narrow.
“I cannot trust you if you continue to evade me. This is integral to this village and its future, and I cannot have, no, I cannot afford to waste time or make mistakes,” Tobirama says and he meets your eyes.
“I can promise you, I am ready to work just as much as you so let's not get personal,” you lean back and cross your arms. “And after this, I will get out of your hair forever. You wouldn’t even have to hear from me.”
Tobirama rolls his eyes, but you can tell he is satisfied with your answer. “Oh please, with a village this small, and me, holding an important position in the said village, you cannot guarantee that.”
You smirk and you pull out the chair across from him. “Touché, Lord Tobirama,” you emphasize the lord with a mocking tone.
Tobirama grits his jaw visibly and he grabs his pen almost angrily. You are starting to think that maybe this is what Tobirama generally looks like.
 “Get to work.”
“What is it this time? List the several types of drinks the people in this village make? Investigate the best type of fabric to wear for each season?” You prompt, unable to keep the grin from spreading across your lips. He just let you get away with calling him lord.
Adding a title to someone’s name is supposed to be a sign of respect, but the way you say it makes it sound derogatory. Like you’re cursing him.
Tobirama looks about ready to yell, and part of you wants him to take the bait. You lean closer to gauge his reactions and you watch him immediately school his expression. It is like watching a magic show, one moment something is there, the next, it disappears.
“Well, if you wanted me to make up more tasks for you to do, you should have just asked,” Tobirama deadpans.
You watch him, intrigued. “Wow. Are you trying to be funny, or are you trying to insult me?”
“Please stop talking when I am working,” Tobirama does not sound like he is pleading. He hands you a stack of books to go through. “I want you to compile a list of necessary skills that you deem important, and I will do the same. We can discuss and vet on which skills are required to learn for each grade level right after.”
You let out a breezy laugh, and you note how Tobirama seems to twitch at the sound. “Right, right, fine.” You pause. “Have you looked at my notes?”
“Of course I have,” Tobirama huffs and he shoots you a distasteful glare, and to you, it looks like he’s tired of talking. “I will make my own notes on where you’re lacking and then you revise it.”
“What do we need those for?” You ask, genuinely curious. “What else are we in charge of making?”
“The reason I had you seek out artists, writers, bookmakers, and the like, is because we will commission them to make textbooks,” Tobirama explains. “We just need to get the information together. Meanwhile, I would also like to fill this library and another public library with other kinds of books.”
You tap your chin. “Your brother tells me you like to invent things and all that. Are you going to include your research and your inventions in the library?”
Tobirama sighs, visibly withering at the statement that his brother talks behind his back, but he revives himself enough to get back to his work. “Depends on what my brother approves of.”
You let out an involuntary chuckle. Here are the two most powerful known shinobis in the world right now, and they argue over mundane things.
Tobirama raises an eyebrow at you and you shake your head.
He takes that as a sign to keep on working, so you decide to keep to yourself.
Surprisingly, you are starting to enjoy this. It’s not as bad as you imagined.
//
Perhaps you spoke too soon, because here you are at the crack of dawn–no not even the crack of dawn because the surroundings are still dark blue. You yawn as you arrive, and find Tobirama waiting in the middle of the training ground in a different outfit you have not seen him in. He seems to only have one color palette; he wears a navy wrap-around jacket that has a collar in a lighter shade of blue. The sleeves are short, showing off his muscles, and all of this is tied with a light yellow-green belt around his waist. A sword is secured to his belt, and it hangs on his side ready to be drawn. A happuri guards his forehead and the sides of his face, and for some reason, this makes him look more authoritarian and older. A mesh armor peeks through the space between his collars and even in your sleepiness, you note a defined torso that you keep to yourself.
You do not even see an ounce of sleepiness in him and you huff.
Tobirama merely glances at you, but every time he looks at you, it feels like he is already exasperated.
“Is it just us?” You try not to sound too whiny. “Also I ate breakfast, I’m not falling for whatever it is you have in mind.”
“And what do you think is on my mind?”
“I don’t know? A test of survival, starving us for days in the forest with only the surroundings as our resource?” You rest a hand on your two swords–an uchigatana and a wakizashi, both the same in appearance and made from the same metal.
“I said not to eat too much breakfast, I did not discourage you from it.” Tobirama lets out a sarcastic sigh–something he can really pull off well. “I am not that cruel.”
You hear an excited gasp behind you and you turn to find Sarutobi Hiruzen and Shimura Danzo walking towards the two of you.
“Tobirama-sensei!” Hiruzen calls enthusiastically, at the crack of dawn. “I hope you don’t mind, I brought my friend again!”
You glance at Tobirama and you see his face visibly soften at the sight of his student.
“And I didn’t know Y/N-sensei’s joining us!” Hiruzen bounds up to you and you reach up to ruffle his hair. He turns to you and points at Tobirama. “He’s a really cool sensei! Really cool!”
Tobirama suddenly looks constipated and you laugh out loud.
“We’ll see, kiddo,” you tell him. “We’ll see.”
Two more kids come, and the girl, Utatane Koharu, somehow looks pissed, which you can suddenly relate to. The boy beside her, Mitokado Homura, looks more calm and composed as he adjusts his glasses on his face.
Tobirama nods, and then he breaks off into a light jog. Obediently, the kids follow after him and you grudgingly follow behind them. They must be used to this.
After a few rounds, the kids start to stretch and you do the same as well, and everything has been pretty calm. You watch as the kids do sets of push-ups, sit-ups, calisthenics and you are impressed at their stamina. They’re barely twelve, but then again, if you are training under Senju Tobirama, you can tell that you will be pushed to your limit.
You feel a pang of envy from these kids for a moment, but you push it away. There is no reason to look back into the past and feel bitter about how things worked out.
“So what’s next, sensei?” Hiruzen inquires. You can see how much these kids admire the man.
“Sparring,” Tobirama replies. “Since Danzo’s here, you guys are evenly matched. Last man standing gets to fight me.”
 “What about Y/N-sensei?” Danzo interjects.
“Yeah, what about me?” You smirk, and you lighten your voice so that it sounds more childish.
You can feel Koharu rolling her eyes.
You narrow your eyes at him and let out a small stream of breath through your mouth. “I see.”
Tobirama slightly raises his chin haughtily. It suits him. He does not need to speak to dominate the atmosphere. He shrugs, and it sparks something in you.
“I’ll still try my best,” you smirk, but underneath your facade, you are starting to get annoyed. Which is new, because you are generally a patient person.
Tobirama takes Hiruzen and Koharu while you take the other two to coach during their matches. You stand in between Danzo and Homura, watching their small faces study each other.
“Don’t kill each other,” you advise, and you start their match.
The two go at each other, with Danzo throwing the first punch. You back off a little to make sure that you can see their stances.
Homura whirls around and his foot juts out, with his heel aiming towards Danzo’s head. Danzo ducks down, and kicks at Homura’s stomach the moment he regains his posture from the kick.
Homura staggers back, and now he is on the defensive, blocking Danzo’s hits and kicks, barely dodging them as he keeps backing away. You notice the hits and misses from each boy.
“Homura, don’t back away!” You yell out. “Get closer to him!”
Homura does as you say, and Danzo is unable to land a hit on him, limiting his movements unless–
Danzo jumps back to get away, and kicks Homura on the chest.
 “Nice!” You cheer.
“Sensei, whose side are you on?” Homura complains and his hand comes up to rub his chest.
You laugh. “Neither!” You glance at both of their faces. “Okay, you two, come here.”
Danzo and Homura face each other again.
“Save your movements, don’t be so generous with them,” you tell them. “Don’t punch just to punch. Again!”
The two boys come at each other and you stand back to watch them again. This time, you do not offer any more suggestions. You glance to where Tobirama is at, and he is squatting on the ground, his eyes trained on the students’ footwork.
You hear him call out that Hiruzen’s feet are too far apart.
You snap back to the two boys just in time to watch Homura flip Danzo on his back.
You walk over and you peer at Danzo. “You okay?”
 “Yes,” the boy wheezes out.
“Alright, you’re done,” you chuckle and you look at Homura. “You win, then. Good job. Help him up.”
You glance at the other group, and you see Koharu sock Hiruzen straight to his face and Tobirama jump up to his feet. Hiruzen gets to his feet, and you see a trickle of blood coming out of his nose.
When Hiruzen gets closer, you ruffle his hair affectionately and you laugh as he grimaces.
 “Not funny!” He whines nasally.
“Keep your hands up next time!” You taunt even though he may already know this.
Tobirama puts a hand on his shoulder and steers him towards a rock so that he can sit. “Sit up and lean forward,” he tells his student.
The rest of the kids walk towards him to watch and poke fun at Hiruzen.
You stay back and cross your arms to watch them. You know that there is no place for you to be there.
Once Tobirama is finished attending to his student, he turns to you. “Koharu, you’re the referee.”
You size him up, your eyes travelling from his face and down to his waist. What was one of his rules again?
Anticipation builds in your core, and your hand rests on the scabbard of your sword, your thumb playing at the hilt.
“Are we including tricks today?” You inquire.
“If you want,” Tobirama curtly replies.
Koharu starts the fight, and Tobirama wastes no time coming at you.
His first hit is heavy, and you block it with both of your forearms and brace yourself by stepping back one leg. You are quick to grab his wrist as you twist your arm and you step forward, meaning to put your leg behind his, but he breaks away from you and disturbs the momentum that you were going to use against him.
You are quick to back away because he comes at you without stopping.
He is fast, and he is heavy with his hands. You notice his open hands, ready for grappling. His stance is lower, and you know that it will be hard to knock him off balance, and the effects of kicking at his head will go to his advantage.
You need an opening.
You launch yourself at him, and as he prepares himself to grab you, you drop to your knees and slide in between his legs, hitting his knee as you pass him by. He turns to your direction, and you quickly use his bent knee to step and kick towards his head. He blocks you and you see him almost grab at your ankle.
You do not give him a chance to gather himself, and you swing again at him, this time using his shoulder to propel yourself around him and using his weight and yours, you are able to lock his head with your legs. Just as you are about to go for another twist to bring him to the ground, Tobirama counters by catching you and launching you off of him.
“You fight like an assassin,” Tobirama says as you roll to the ground and to your feet.
“Are you impressed?” You grin at him, half jokingly.
Tobirama does not answer you, but it looks like he is about to say something worse as he charges at you.
You step closer to him so that he does not follow through his movement, and you grab the hilt of his sword and then you strike your palm at his chest to send him back. You whirl around to brandish his sword in the air.
What was one of his rules? You suddenly remember.
Do not touch my things, unless I give them to you.
For a moment, everyone freezes.
You study the blade in your hand.
“This is a very nice sword,” you muse, and you strike at the air and flip it, testing the weight. You run a finger on the blunt edge of his sword. “Well-balanced and thin, but very sharp. Excellent for accurate and fast hits...and conducting lightning.”
Tobirama’s face grows stormy. His fists tighten.
You twist blade with a slight twist of your wrist, and you hand it with the hilt towards him. “Sorry. I was curious.”
Tobirama takes his sword and quickly sheathes it. You note a minuscule change in his expression, but it quickly passes and you are disappointed for not being quick enough to note it.
“So, is this a tie?” Koharu asks, uncertain.
“Yes,” Tobirama grits through his teeth.
You watch Tobirama’s tense shoulders and decide to leave him alone. You probably went too far today.
“Well, that was fun, but I have to go,” you say, even though the rest of your day is pretty much free. "I have some friends to meet."
Tobirama suspects that you certainly do not have any friends to meet, but he does not say anything more. He’s probably eager to make you go. There is nothing he would want more.
“Aw!” Hiruzen cries out. His nose bleed has stopped. “Thanks for coming by, sensei!”
You wink at the kids, and you make your exit, your hand still remembering the feel of Tobirama’s sword. It is oddly familiar, and you wonder if the craftsmanship is similar to your own blade.
You can feel Tobirama’s stare behind you and it burns the back of your neck as if he is shooting laser beams at you, and just when you glance back to regard it, he is turning away and conversing with his students about hand seals.
Though it was just a joke and a way to catch him by surprise, you can’t help but feel that you just stomped over the thin olive branch that he was handing out to you.
You note to yourself to make it up to him tomorrow.

Summer Showers - Hashirama Senju Drabble
A short drabble (I had written in 2019) set in the warring states era. I was mainly working on getting down imagery with this short little story. It’s about 600+ words, nothing long.
Characters (Mention/Present): Hashirama Senju, Tobirama Senju, Touka Senju, and Madara Uchiha
-
Dark eyes glinted with the vibrant green of the leaves around and the bright grey sky above. His gaze was strictly focused through the summer shower into the treeline where he could hear the sounds of birds that were taking cover. Despite the rain, they were as vocal as they would be on a normal, sunny day, if not more. He then closed his eyes as he listened close to the sound of raindrops falling onto leaves. It would go soft for a few moments before the sound grew in volume as the rainfall fluctuated between a simple sprinkle to a downpour. Hashirama turned his head with his ear now facing the gutter of his patio, water was flooding down and flowing off in a stream onto the ground below. It was peaceful, the kind of peace he wished upon the land since he had been a child.
Just then, the smell of crisp, freshly wet soil reached him and a soft smile grew on his lips. No pun intended, the smell was very grounding to the Senju. Unfortunately, soon the smell of smoke covered up the more natural scent and he opened his eyes.
Over the treeline he saw the skyline slowly being enveloped with the black, cloud of ashes and smoke of a forest fire. Peace did not and wouldn’t last long in times as these. The Senju leader pushed down the worry and fear in his gut as he pushed himself to stand.
Behind him the door slid open, the sound of Tobirama’s voice piecing the sounds of the forest. “Anija! The Uchiha have made their move!” The knot in his stomach twisted up further, one name coming to his mind: Madara. Once again, he would have to face off with the man who was his friend a long time before. Yes, they had been children, but to him all that had really changed was learning the other’s clan of origin.
“We shall prepare for battle. Tell the troops to push as many back to the boundary, but to not press on further. He wishes to instigate, but we shall not let him continue fruitless fighting.” Hashirama announced to his younger brother, giving him a serious look. As he expected, he could see in Tobirama’s features that he did not agree with his brother’s orders.
“Anjia, they won’t stop–”
“I don’t wish to hear any arguments, Tobirama. I am in charge and you shall do as I command. I plan to handle Madara myself. Get prepared, and lead the for left division, I shall take centre, and Touka will lead the right. We will push them to the boundary, if you go one step further I will not hesitate to set you back into place myself.” His chakra flared as he straightened up to show his dominance over the other Senju. After a moment, he deflated some as his eyes grew soft with compassion. “Tobirama, I understand your disagreement, but we shall settle on further advancement when we have the time to better prepare.”
The white haired Senju said no more, going off to follow his brother’s orders, even if he disagreed.
With his brother now gone, Hashirama turned back towards the plume of smoke in the distance, sorrowing filling his eyes. “Madara…I know you still want peace…” The man whispered softly, his words unheard to even the birds surrounding him. With a swift turn on his heels, the man went inside his home, prepared to change into his armour and grab his weapons.
Why couldn’t the fight just come to an end? He knew the Uchiha wanted it to stop as well, he felt it in his guts…The guts they once shared with one another, if only for a brief time.

Madara and Obito... In SPACE
So the preface to this mess: I don’t know jackshit about Star Wars, so a lot of this went through friends who do know Star Wars (the primary of which does not have a tumblr).
(I have watched Episodes 7&8, and Rogue One. Of the first six movies, I remember watching maybe an hour total. I have not seen more than snatches of Clone Wars. Beyond that, nothing but fic.)
Anyway! Let’s go:
As y’all probably know by now, my favorite form of crossover is what I call “intrusive,” so... I'm enjoying the mental concept of "dump Madara on Coruscant and watch him go." (Prequels, probably.)
Does Madara know what's going on? No. Can he understand a word that's being said? No! Is he going to fight the first person to aim a weapon at him, and every person after that? Yes.
Is Madara fighting fit?
Tumblr media
Nnnnnnnnnnnnnno, not really, he’s old as balls. This is "I was on cave life support but I'm getting back up to kick ass out of pure spite" Madara.
[Image description: A screenshot of a panel of the Naruto Manga. Uchiha Madara is old and visibly ‘decrepit,’ with spiky white hair and an amorphous black robe. He is sitting on a pale throne, and there is a scythe visible to the side. He has a speech bubble saying “I am... a ghost of the Uchiha.” End Description]
Two wrinkly old guys, staring each other down: There ain't enough room in this universe for the two of us. [Palpatine and Madara start fighting to the death]
Congrats, Palpatine! Your ass is getting kicked by a geriatric malcontent who doesn't speak any language you've ever heard or feel like literally anything in the Force. You may have Sith lightning, but do you have decades of frontline experiences and over half a century of cave-dwelling bitterness?
Both of them, simultaneously, in completely different languages: Get off my lawn, whipper-snapper.
Palpatine: Behold my mastery of the Dark Side, Foolish old man! Palpatine: [shoots lightning] Madara: Oh hey, you're like the seventeenth most dangerous person who can shoot lightning I've fought. Telekinesis? Fought that. Combat precognition? Fought that, have that, and let me tell you hwat, it doesn't help if you're opponent is just that much faster than you.
Now, I’ll take a step back and acknowledge that several people advised me that Palpatine would stand a chance against Madara, likely even win, if Madara just got hacked off of his life support and is down to one eye.
But. I want a shitpost, and also to clown on Palpatine, so Madara wins easily.
Madara also deserves to be clowned on, but the entire situation is clowning on him because he’s not in his cave anymore, and he really wants to go back to his Gedou Mazou statue.
Maybe Madara and Palpatine go Old Man Fight and then Obito just pulls a Ninja Move and kills Palpatine that way. Madara was ranting and Obito just. Ninjas behind Palpatine and slits his throat like “okay, you’re obviously evil so like... bye.”
(I just love causing "Wait what" reactions in characters that are used to having total control. Like. Have you read "Unexpected Guests"? The Bleach fic? Everything that happens in Hueco Mundo and after. That energy. I want that energy.)
Madara waves his scythe around like a cane. Obito just trails after like “Gramps, no” because it’s still pre-Sanbi, so he’s Mostly Innocent (you know, on the scale of how fucked up Obito is as a person), and just wants Madara to like. Stop.
Palpatine dies but nobody's sure what to charge Madara with since he did kind of expose a Sith? And Palpatine attacked first for [handwave] reasons?
Jedi: Well sir, in lieu of charging you with assassination of the emperor, we have decided to ask you politely to return to the elderly person's retirement home from whence you came. Please leave immediately. You are frightening the senate. Madara: [incomprehensible raving] Jedi: Yes yes, very interesting. Jedi, whispering: Does anyone know his caretaker???
Obito looks increasingly put-upon as events progress. You need Obito there to... well, not translate. Nobody can translate. But to at least poke Madara into being Slightly Less Homicidal.
Anakin seems sad about his friend dying and being evil so Obito challenges him to a spar. Madara and Obito get pulled into the Jedi Temple to help train Padawans? My first thought was "they wouldn't trust someone so obviously Weird, Crazy, and Incomprehensible around the younglings" and my second thought was "well they let Yoda do it and he's all those things so I mean? YEAH."
What if they put Madara in the bacta tank and he just freshened up like a daisy because of hand-wave Hashirama cell reasons (Blame Sir Tiddyface).
From “Decrepit and Reliant on Cave Tube Life Support” to “Will Call Down Meteors With Ease”
How many eyes does he have? Whatever’s funniest. Let’s say one Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and one Rinnegan, for maximum chaos.
Would "half my body is missing" Obito freak out if Bacta regrew his eye? Can bacta regrow something like that? When characters lose limbs they usually just get cybernetic replacements, but  the person I spoke with said that apparently they saw somewhere that that kind of thing can grow back it just takes a really long time.
I want to imagine bacta would help Obito with the Zetsu integration.
Anyway! Yes. Have Madara help train people despite being... Madara about it. You know... kind of a dick.
(I’d put example gifs but I don’t feel up to it. Y’all know what Madara’s “weakness disgusts me” ass is like.)
Obito had to get his "these fools could never make me sweat" sass from somewhere, after all.
Do you think Obito could fight the baby Jedi that are around his age while recovering? I have no idea what their skill level is at fourteen, but I want to imagine Obito sparring the Padawans.
Obito + Zetsu + Bacta = he still needs physical therapy but he can spar again!
Madara is delighted to have a baby ninja to bully. He's too old to not bully baby ninjas, and Obito is the only baby ninja. TBH Madara just makes Obito his assistant teacher.
Obito: What are we even doing here and how do we get home? Madara: I'm still working on that. Obito: But I want to go home and see Rin and Kakashi! Madara, who was like two days away from triggering the Sanbi plan: I'm working on it.
Something sticking in my mind rn is Ahsoka&Obito, since Obito is still Baby.
I think Obito would be excited to have someone his age that thought he was Cool and Talented for being able to do Chakra Things instead of writing him off as "the dead-last." Like, Rin is friends with him, but she doesn't look up to him as someone more/differently talented.  He'd be excited to get to be "The Mysterious Cool Big Bro" for once.
I feel I also just like the idea of Anakin not knowing what to do with someone Several Years Younger that is also. Ninja Skill.
Miscellaneous thoughts:
Madara is a grouchy old man even AFTER he gets effectively de-aged via bacta dunk, for the record. He's back in his prime and the Jedi have no idea how. They're all concerned about tiddyface*. (When are people not concerned about Sir Tiddyface, really.) The mokuton is a problem.
*Sir Tiddyface is that random Hashirama face that Madara had growing out of his pecs for like... convoluted bullshit reasons.
(Madara doesn't have mokuton, but he has enough Hashirama cells that it interacted very, VERY weirdly with the bacta.)
Obito spends the intervening weeks trying to learn the local language. He's very eager. Not particularly fast. Still doing it though!
I want Obito juggling kunai as physical therapy while he's waiting for Mads to get out of the bacta tank and just gains himself the adoration of a gaggle of small baby Jedi children.
Madara comes out of the bacta tank looking like he did in his prime (which I mentioned earlier but whatever), and it absolutely incites a yelling match of an argument that draws way too much attention.
Someone tries to teach Obito how to access the Force, just to see what happens. He almost turns into a statue because the philosophy behind Force meditation is only a few steps away from Sage Mode Meditation.
Anyway, Madara smacks him with a stick like Fukasaku to make sure Obito doesn't turn into stone.
Madara grumps about the lack of paper and brushes and ink. Bitches about it until someone hits up an antique store or something to get them for him. The day before he and Obito are dispatched on a mission with someone, probably Anakin for plot reasons, Madara very publicly seals things into a scroll and then tells them that no, they can't learn it, because the Force isn't chakra so fuuinjutsu won't work for them, so There.
Obito practices some Teen Rebellion (tm) and like, tries to teach the Padawan friends he's made how to do Chakra Things... but he's so bad at explaining things that nobody can get it to work even if it were possible.
In Obito's defense, language barriers. Not in Obito's defense, he's just really bad at words sometimes.

Ohh, the Founders Week Legacy sounds interesting! I'm such a sucker for time travel AUs 😅 Also the jutsu accident, ehehehe.
Me, write a time-travel AU? No, who would have seen this? *shoves OoT in a locker*
Here's the bit of Legacy I have now:
“You’re so impatient,” Hashirama chuckles and Madara feels the prick of tears in his eyes. He never thought he’d hear the sound again. “Maybe we both were…It takes time, Madara. Our dream started with us, but it has to be cultivated and kept alive by generations after. We were never going to see the full fruition in our life-times, only youth and hubris made us think we would.” Hashirama squeezes his hand and Madara gathers all of his failing strength, seeping out like chakra through his skin, to squeeze back.
“Our dream?” He remembers the night at the Naka. Where it started and ended, the words seared into his mind as any image he’s ever captured with the sharingan.
“Our dream,” Hashirama repeats. “Konoha is still…young in a way. There’s been many failures and more work to be done now than ever but…I saw the village briefly. I’ve spoken to a handful of people who lived there. It’s not a lost cause, Madara. Not yet.”
“Always the optimist,” Madara snorts and his body spasms in pain. He spoke so fondly of the village, as if it hadn’t been the death of both of their clans. As if the bijuu hadn’t been weaponized on a scale impossible even when Madara first led it to the border as a threat. As if the whole system just as corrupt as it had been in their time, just with a different name.
“Have you seen it?” Hashirama asks and he bends over Madara. He knows, he can feel the brush of Hashirama’s hair on his chest.
“No,” Madara answers honestly. He knows enough, looking through Obito’s eyes first as a brat trapped under the rock and then as the bitter adult with his pet Akatsuki long dead.
The mystery of 'how does Madara survive' is answered simply by 'Hashirama's bullshit cells, sage mode, and some weird other shit'. Madara "I'm ready to die with you Hashirama" Uchiha and Hashirama "actually, I think you deserve a second chance and I'm giving it to you forcibly" Senju.
And Jutsu Accident is here:
It happens by accident.
One minute Hashirama is flying through made up handseals imploring Madara to turn and look at his [canon made up jutsu], the next his skin tingles and actual chakra activates and bursts out of his arms as…flowers.
Hashirama stares down at the buds covering his bare arms and hands, watching as their leaves unfurl and lengthen as heads begin to form and bloom. A natural process that takes weeks or months, finished in seconds.
Madara tenses at the presence of chakra, a few weeks ago he let it slip he as a sensor-type nin, and spins around. He looks startled more than angry, eyes wide but shoulders loose instead of standoffish so Hashirama counts his blessings.
“Um Hashirama…” Madara trails off, looking down at the colorful flowers, “you’re…blooming.” He glances up at Hashirama, eyes narrow and squinty as if to ask: was this the real purpose of that ridiculous jutsu?
“Surprise?” Hashirama squeaks, surprised as Madara. The mokuton awakened less than a year ago, he has no idea what to expect from it but it seems a likely culprit in this case. But then Hashirama looks down at the flowers, actually properly looks at them and nearly passes out.
Six kinds of flowers pop out of his skin: purple asters with starry petals, spindly red columbines, tiny white clover heads clustered close together, delicate five-pointed white jasmine, little trumpets of dark blue morning glories, and thick clumps of heavy ivory gardenias.
The meaning of the flowers: Jasmine - sweet love, amiability, Morning glory – affection, White clover – think of me, Red columbine – anxious trembling, Gardenia – you’re lovely, secret love, Aster – symbol of love, daintiness. Fundamentally in the language of flowers "oh my god I have the biggest crush on you, I think I love you, please don't find out" was what I was going for 😂

Another follower milestone gift fic. This one is for @sarcastic-mommy for the prompt word obdurate.
Pairing: MadaraSakura Word count: 1249 Rated: G Summary: Sakura knew a lot about Madara before they ever even met. Loved him, maybe, from the first time they talked.
Follow the link or read it under the cut!
KO-FI and commission info in the header!
Hard Headed, Soft Hearted
She saw him for the first time on the day Madara moved in to her building, scowl in place because he hated this town, hated having to leave his home, and Sakura remembered laughing from her window as she watched this new guy with crazy hair argue with his own boxes like if he could only yell loud enough they might pick themselves up and walk right in to the elevator for him. She remembered wondering why there was no one around to help him move but it was none of her business. The wondering only lasted about a month until half the building jolted upright at three in the morning to the sound of uninhibited sobbing while a man’s voice rang through the hallways saying, “But you didn’t tell anyone you moved again! Are you moving on? This is so healthy for you, Maddy! I’m so happy I found you!”
By then the sound of Madara’s shouting was familiar enough that Sakura went back to sleep, perfectly assured that everything was okay. He didn’t sound angry. Sakura didn’t bother to question the way she already knew his moods by the tone of his yelling.
It was something close to a year of living in the same building but a floor apart before they actually met officially and Sakura found herself laughing again as she gave her name, amused at the flabbergasted expression on Madara’s face when he offered a grunt of “Uchiha Madara” and all she could say in return was, “You should call Hashirama more often.” It wasn’t like he lived his life very quietly but Sakura grew up with two boys for best friends whose default volume was screaming in each other's faces. She was used to it.
After that it was like the universe began carefully pulling at their strings, dancing the two of them back and forth through life only to trap them in that same dingy elevator together time and time again, never anyone else around and always such a coincidence that they managed to be there at the same time. Their schedules didn’t even line up. Yet there they were again and again until finally Madara scrubbed at the back of his head and asked if she wanted to stop off at his floor for a while. Sakura asked him why he’d waited so long.
There were a lot of things about Madara that she knew before they ever met, things she picked up from the voices that shouted through the floor while she did her yoga routines and scrubbed out the bathtub. She knew that Madara liked his coffee black, knew he couldn’t stand his best friend’s little brother, knew he’d grown his hair long because his baby brother asked him to. She knew that same baby brother had passed away the year before they met and Madara had run to three different cities trying to escape the pain before he landed here in her old ass apartment building. There were a lot of things she knew. But knowing something and experiencing it for yourself were two very different situations and if Sakura had thought she knew what stubborn meant before, well, now she was convinced the definition of that word should be changed to simply a picture of Madara’s face in the dictionary, scowling like he was now over the rim of his soup bowl.
“Do you or do you not live in the twenty-first century?” she asked him with a roll of her eyes. “You’re so old fashioned sometimes that I think about buying you a pocket watch. Or an ear trumpet.”
“I am not! And my hearing is fine!”
“You think women can’t propose to men? Hello? Get with the times, grandpa.”
Either it was the heat in her eyes or maybe the way she wielded her soup spoon like a tactical weapon but something made him sit back in his seat, crossing both arms over his chest with a snort, looking away like her gaze was too heavy to hold.
“I never said women can’t propose to men, I said I don’t want you to propose to me.”
“Still kind of a pig thing to say.”
His eyes flashed back, all fire and brimstone with the anger he carried always just beneath the surface. If she didn’t love it so much Sakura thought maybe she would hate it except she couldn’t ever imagine hating anything about Madara. Not even when he glared at her the way he did now, soup pushed to one side and one hand coming out to point accusingly in her direction.
“Take that back,” he demanded. “I am nothing if not a gentleman.”
“Yesterday you let the apartment door slam in my face while we were leaving,” Sakura pointed out. Then she bit the inside of her cheek as he flailed the hand between them.
“I thought you had gone back inside! You said you needed to grab your purse!”
“Okay, I’ll give you that.” After all, he couldn’t have known she meant the one that was sitting right beside the door. She did have a lot of purses. He complained about that all the time.
Madara snorted. “See? Now take it back.”
“I don’t get what the big deal is! We talked about it, we’re gonna get married someday, what’s so bad about it if I’m the one who gets a bunch of roses and goes down on one knee and all that crap?”
And for all the things that Sakura knew about Madara, now and before they ever met, there was one thing that she often forgot in the heat of the moment when his voice reached impossible octaves and his volume attracted yet another call in an endless succession of calls to the police for one more noise complaint. Sometimes she just forgot how soft his heart was underneath all that bluster. It struck her again now, like it had so many times before, watching his face burn a sudden cherry red, pushing away from the table abruptly to stomp across the room and dig his hand around in that one broken light fixture they just never got around to fixing.
When he pulled out a tiny blue velvet box Sakura could swear all the oxygen in the room vanished.
“You can’t propose to me,” Madara growled, shaking the box like a threat. “Cause then I can’t propose to you! Quit ruining my plans, Haruno!”
“M-madara…”
Pouting, he cradled the box to his chest and stomped off towards their bedroom with his nose in the air. “Now I have to find another hiding place for this. Vile woman. You know you make my life so damn difficult. Hmph. No, don’t get up, I have to call Hashirama. We need a new plan now.”
Lukewarm soup splashed across her work blouse when Sakura let it slip from her fingers and fall down in her forgotten lunch. She didn’t notice. For a minute or so all she could do was blink sightlessly while her brain tried to catch up to the revelation that apparently her boyfriend had been planning to propose. And that she’d ruined the surprise. Eventually a smile stole across her face and Sakura leaned back in her chair, peace stealing through her veins and warmth in her skin that had nothing to do with the sun streaming through the window.
Gods but she loved that he was stubborn enough to do it right even when he didn’t have to.

Who is Madara Uchiha?
Tumblr media
Madara Uchiha is a fictional antagonist of the anime series and manga Naruto, 📚 he is actually the greatest leader of the Uchiha clan as well as the co-founder of the Hidden Leaf Village, Konoha. After fighting Hashirama for the title of the First Hokage, he is diagnosed dead , but eventually appears later in the series as Tobi. Simply because Obito was posing as Madara uchiwa during the heyday of Akatsuki. ☁️
Madara history
Tumblr media
Madara grew up in constant competition with her younger brother, Izuna Uchiha . Both have been recognized as the most talented members of their clan. Their competition led them to obtain the Mangekyō Sharingan , 👁️ and with it, they were able to take control of the Uchiha clan. Although members of the Uchiha clan possess a powerful chakra, Madara and her brother's chakra were exceptional. 🌊 Under his leadership, the clan was almost indestructible. During a fight against the Senju clan, the Mangekyō Sharingan of Madara uchiha inflicted severe consequences on his body, due to its excessive use. One of them was losing her eyesight, 🦯 Madara kept her Mangekyō Sharingan active throughout the fight  which caused her to lose her eyesight. He therefore transplanted the eyes of his mortally wounded brother, by the brother of Hashirama, in order to thus obtain the eternal Mangekyou Sharingan.
The founding of the hidden village of Konoha
Tumblr media
Years later, the Uchiha clan faced endlessly against the powerful Senju clan. ⚔️ To end the incessant fighting, the leader of the Senju, Hashirama Senju, approached the Uchiha clan with a proposal for a truce . Although Madara did not desire peace with the Senju, her clan members wanted a ceasefire, 🔥 and Madara had no choice but to accept their decision. The Senju and Uchiha, along with all the clans they had conquered, then united to form the Hidden Leaf Village. Against Madara's will, the villagers chose to elect Hashirama as the first Hokage . 👑 While he was a Konoha ninja, Madara went to Iwagakure and addressed a young man named Ōnoki accompanied by the Tsuchikage of the time and his guardian, where they were informed that despite the alliance that 'he had made a deal with the Senju, his people 🚻 would remain subject to the power of the Senju.
Battle against Hashirama

Madara feared that Hashirama was oppressing the Uchiha people, and tried to rally the Uchiha clan to his cause in an effort to challenge his leadership. However, instead of helping him, the Uchiha turned their backs on him , believing his motives were due only to pride and the desire to gain more power. 💪 Abandoned by his clan, Madara left the village swearing revenge; after returning to challenge Hashirama to battle. They fought in the Valley of the End, and although Madara appealed to Kyubi , 🦊 he was defeated by Hashirama and diagnosed as dead. Despite his defeat in this battle, he managed to survive and obtain some of Hashirama's DNA , 🧬 which he transplanted within his wounds. As he slowly approached a natural death, he suddenly woke up with the Rinnegan. He also acquired the Mokuton and now possessed the DNA of the Uchiha and Senju. By awakening these Dojutsu, he gained the ability to summon the demonic statue from the outer path, which he used as a catalyst to cultivate Hashirama Senju cells. He later transplanted his Rinnegan into a boy named Nagato without his knowing it, and then replaced his left eye with a new Sharingan. 👁️
Madara personality
Tumblr media
When Madara was still a child , he was regarded as kind, somewhat temperamental and competitive . He was a sensitive shinobi who cared both for his family and for others. Madara was very emotional and couldn't stand being laughed at. He also tended to cry when Hashirama teased him, because he was unable to ricochet on the river. 🏞️ The very first time we met Madara Uchiha in the Manga, he was described as a power thirsty person eager for revenge. He did not procrastinate when he had to kill his friends or when he tried to recover the hidden village of Konoha. But according to Madara, his sole purpose was actually to protect members of the Uchiha Clan. Throughout the Naruto saga, several ninjas have described Madara Uchiha's personality. When Itachi told Sasuke about him, he told him that he was a dark Shinobi,  🌑  thirsty for power. According to Kyubi, Madara possessed a much softer chakra than hers. It would appear that Madara represents hatred and the dark side of the Naruto saga.
Madara's appearance
Madara uchiha has a fairly fair complexion as well as black hair with a slightly bluish tint. When he was still a teenager, his hair was shoulder-length and his dress code was that of the Uchiha clan ; 🌔 that is, a fairly large shirt and the badge of his clan worn on his back. He also had bandages on his shins and blue pants. Madara also wore a belt that allowed her to hold onto her bag containing her ninja gear.  As time went on, her dress style changed . As he grew older, he wore a belt over his shoulder which served as receptacles for his many swords. ⚔️  Madara Uchiwa has grown into a fairly tall man with long hair. It was so long that it went to the level of his belt. He also began to wear red samurai armor similar to that of his greatest rival, Hashirama, the Hokage of Konoha. The particularity of this armor is that it protected the various vital points of his body! ❤️ After receiving Hashirama's stem cells, Hashirama Senju's head could be seen on his chest.
Madara equipment
Tumblr media
Madara is often dressed in red armor which is suitable for the battlefield , she looks very sturdy and perfect for taking a hit. He also has a pair of gloves. 🧤 Within Madara's paraphernalia, there are several weapons he is used to using like the Uchiha fan! A flashback 💡 of the anime, allowed us to see in his lair , just before his death, other weapons such as several large Shurikens, but also a saber and chains . His equipment was borrowed by Tobi to ensure his victory against various ninjas.
The meeting between Madara and Obito
Tumblr media
Madara lived for many years until the end of the Third Great Shinobi War . At the end of her life, Madara possessed a very weak body, and her only chance 🍀 to stay alive was to use the Outer Way Demon statue as a survival system. He therefore connected with the tree possessing Hashirama's genes, so that the statue could constantly provide Madara with chakra, in order to keep her alive and prevent her from instantaneous death. During this war, he found the young Obito Uchiha, and began a seemingly long healing process to save his life using Hashirama 's stem cells. Madara then ordered the white Zetsu to keep Obito alive and help him rehabilitate, so that he could be useful to him in his future awakening. After Obito returned to him as he had predicted, he took him into an illusory world and told him about the 6 powers 📜 of the Rinnegan and the Ten-tailed Beast, Jubi as well as his plan, the Eye of to the moon . He then taught him various Kinjutsu Uchiha, those of the Rinnegan and the Inyoton element. Before dying, Madara also created the Black Zetsu by imbuing her willpower into the White Zetsu. Madara then disconnects from the statue and on his last breath and  tells Obito to "befriend Nagato" so that he can be resurrected one day . ⚰️ While Madara had been dead for years, Obito as "Tobi" took possession of Madara's identity and began to perform actions on his behalf.
Madara skills
Tumblr media
Madara was one of the most powerful shinobi of his time and arguably one of the strongest ninjas of all time . 💪 Supreme Leader of Clan Uchiha, no ninja in this world can question his power. Although the Uchiha family possessed a certain talent for combat through their hereditary eye, the Sharinga. Madara tended to always push her own limits . He also possessed enormous natural potential and trained tirelessly. His skills of Katon, 🔥 of Taijutsu and his Dojutsu were of a different level compared to those of his own Clan. Additionally, with the mastery of the Eternal Mangenkyo Sharigan , 👁️ he was able to compete with the Senju Clan, but more specifically with their leader, Hashirama Senju, recognized as the strongest shinobi of his time. Madara Uchiwa is a ninja who is feared by all sane people! It has various peculiarities such as being able to feel an individual's chakra from several kilometers away, it has an extraordinary resistance capable of withstanding deadly attacks without flinching, 🛡️ but it is also able to use seals like the seal of the master puppeteer. Ninjutsu de Madara
Tumblr media
Madara Uchiwa has a predisposition for the fire element chakra 🔥 just like the other members of the Uchiha Clan. Thanks to the Rinnegan, he is also able to manipulate the different natures of the chakra. Without forgetting that his Jutsu Katon possesses a devastating power and a great range, if one compares them to the Jutsu of the other geniuses of the Uchiha clan such as Itachi or even Sasuke. This is why it took during the Fourth Great Shinobi War ⚔️ an entire division to be able to counter his Katons with the help of his natural enemy, the Suiton. it gives an idea of the power that Madara is able to develop within the Jutsu of the element of fire. In order to increase his strength, he deliberately implanted himself with stem cells 🧬 of the powerful Hashirama in order to acquire Jutsu: Mokuton. Madara is a genius , we can also see it once again on his use of Mokuton which is incredible! He is able to create large roots of lotus flowers (the scent of which is deadly to breathe) with the "forest of flowering trees" jutsu . 🌳 ( He was able to bend the 5 kage  only with this powerful Jutsu.) Just like Hashirama, he can also create undetectable clones using the Mokuton. He can also for example create up to 25 clones of himself and transform them into a powerful Susano. For reference , a single Susano 👺 clone can face five Kages. Madara is also very good at fighting the Bijû with the help of the Mokuton! For example, it is possible to create, via the Mokuton, a dragon capable of wrapping around the different Bijû and canceling their chakra. 🐉  We can say that his ability to master the Mokuton is similar to that of Hashirama ! After sealing the Divine Tree within her own body, Madara can now manipulate the various Kekkei Genkai like the Ranton, which is a mix between the Suiton and the Raiton. ⚡💦 Taijutsu
Tumblr media
Madara's Taijutsu power combined with her Sharingan is splendid ! We can see this when he destroys several lines of the Shinobi Alliance in close combat. He was able for example, in a fraction of a second, to remove a scroll 📜 from a kunai as well as return it to its user! Although he is very strong in Taijutsu, it seems that this is not his only strength in close combat, he also masters with great agility, the sword and other weapons. We had the opportunity to see his strength with a saber during the Fourth Great Shinobi War against the Number 4 Division. There is no other word than "graceful" to describe his fighting style at the body to body ! 🥊 Of course, all this is made possible thanks to his famous Sharingan, which he allows him to dodge as well as to predict the movements of his opponents and therefore reduce the chance of getting hit! Using her sword, Madara sliced up a dozen Ninjas very easily with her "dance" ability . 🩰 He then finally took his Gunbai back from Obito which he kept safe. In using this same Gunbai, Madara can eg absorb very powerful jutsu and then return them to their users. Overall, Madara Uchiwa is versatile and powerful no matter what weapon he uses! We assume that this ease comes from his long life and therefore from his incredible experience on the battlefield. 👴 It is also assumed that Hashirama's stem cells greatly enhance his Taijutsu abilities! Dojutsu Sharingan is the hereditary dojutsu of Clan Uchiha . Madara handles his sharingan like no Uchiha before him! Madara is also considered the greatest genius of the Uchiwa family. His Sharigan 👁️ awoke the very first time during a fight between the Uchiha clan and the Hashirama Senju Clan . He of course excels in mastering his hereditary Dojutsu, the Sharingan. In  using it, he can use powerful genjutsu surpassing ten times more powerful Genjutsu Itachi Uchiha and his brother, Sasuke Uchiha. It can also instantly stop a shinobi from running and therefore immobilize it. 🔓 Madara is also the only ninja of the Uchiha family to have succeeded in taking control of a Bijû, in this case Kurama with the help of his Sharingan. Mangekyô Sharingan  : Madara has used her Sharingan extremely well from a young age, it is also her handling of the sharingan that has enabled her to rise to the top of the Uchiha Clan , 🥇and thus, manage the clan with her younger brother. When he pushed the evolution of his Dojutsu to the rank of Mangekyô Sharingan, he became able to stand up to the champion of the opposing clan, Hashirama Senju. 🏆 And it is precisely this story that propelled his adventures into future generations. Like the other shinobi using the Mangekô Sharingan, Madara Uchiwa uses Amaretsu, Susano as well as the lunar arcana.   The Susano of Madara
Tumblr media
Madara's Susano is extremely powerful , single-handedly capable of fighting multiple Kage, or even chopping up a mount easily with his sword. In addition, Madara has the eyes of his brother which allowed him to reach the final evolution of the Sharingan, the Eternal Mangekyô Sharingan . 👁️‍🗨️ Thanks to this evolved form, Madara can abuse her power without suffering consequences! So he cannot go blind using techniques like Susano or Amaretsu. The only flaw of his Dojutsu is that he consumes a huge amount of Chakra . But faced with the power that this dojutsu grants to its user, it is a weak compensation! The Susano summoned by his sharingan can also serve in defense, almost indestructible, 💎 he seems to be far superior to Gaara's defense. To give you an order of how strong the defense his susano grants him, know that he resisted a punch from Raikage A. 👊  Susano's defensive capacity depends on the base power of its user . Within the Fourth Great Shinobi War, we will have the opportunity to see the final form of the Susano of Madara Uchiha, who is a humanoid! He's an incredibly tall Susano, he's over a hundred meters tall 😲 and wears armor that looks like a samurai . Its final version has four arms, 2 of which hold katana! With a blow of his katama, he was able to destroy several mountains demonstrating his gigantic strength. This susano can also be combined with Kyubi 🦊 and by combining it with the abilities of the Rinnegan, it becomes a power monster greater than 9 Bijûs! It gives its user a boost of both offensive and defensive power! Rinnegan, the most powerful of the Genkai Kekkei
Tumblr media
Just before dying, Madara Uchiha evolved her Sharingan into its most powerful form, the Rinnegan 🧿 using stem cells from the first Hokage, Hashirama Senju, which  he implanted in his body. Thanks to this power, he can manipulate the 6 powers of Pain, that includes all the techniques, advantages and abilities related to the Rinnegan . And of course, he once again shows that he is able to harness this new power 💣 with disconcerting ease compared to Nagato. During the Fourth Ninja War, he absorbed with disconcerting ease a Rasen Shuriken from Naruto! The Rinnegan coupled with the Edo Tensei
Tumblr media
On the battlefield of war, he will tell Mû that the technique of Edo Tensei, allows him to acquire a source of infinite chakra and to be immortal . 🧛‍♂️ Indeed, even if his body were to be destroyed, he would be able to recompose himself. He was also able to attract meteorites close to earth on the battlefield and successfully kill more than half of the shinobi in Kage Gaara's division. This feat was made possible by the Jutsu Chibaku Tensei or by using a similar variant. The Jutsu Chibaku Tensei makes it possible to create a sphere attracting matter, this Jutsu can therefore potentially attract stars. 🪐 His Eternal Mangekyö Sharingan, coupled with Rinnegan and Edo Tensei make him a legendary ninja comparable to a God 😱 on a battlefield. He therefore represents a very great threat to the Shinobi world! So Great that his presence prompted the Great 5 Kage to cooperate during the Fourth Great Shinobi War. Double Rinnegan
Tumblr media
When Madara recovered his second Rinnegan, he was able to use Rikudo's various abilities again to a level far exceeding our expectations. Like manipulating meteorites near the earth, using the Chibaku Tensei , 🌠 in a fraction of a second. His 2nd Rinnegan also allowed him to design several invisible shadows using the Rinbo - Hengoku. Lay me down (on golden dandelions)
Starter for @minaa-munch
Tobirama did not collapse from exhaustion. Shinobi of his caliber did not simply collapse during training.
However, shinobi of his caliber sometimes happened to... overstep in pursue of their goals, and that led them to having a rather brutal reality check with the limits of their bodies from time to time.
In Tobirama’s case, that meant that after two hours of back-to back summonings through the Hiraishin he was starting to feel faint and dizzy, and he’d wisely chosen to take a pause before he completely depleted himself of chakra - or summoned himself right into a wall, whichever came first.
(The first experiments with Hiraishin had been... Interesting, to say the last, especially before he’d learned to choose the correct anchor. Let’s just say that he’d landed in the river enough times to make him very glad all Senju were taught to swim as kids.)
The breeze felt heavenly on his sweaty skin. Sitting at the base of a birch tree, back propped against the trunk, Tobirama pulled the stack of notes on the Hiraishin in his lap and studied the latest version of the seal. Were there any more modifications he could do? The anchor was fully functioning, and the chakra release was a as stable as he could make it without the help of an Uzumaki. Was there anything else he could - or should - change?
Humming in thought, Tobirama ran a hair through his hair, pushing his sweaty fringe off his eyes - it was getting long. Time to cut it. Maybe he could ask his brother to do it, that evening. Gods knew Hashirama would be overjoyed.
However, before Tobirama’s thoughts could wander off any more, the peace of his break was suddenly and violently interrupted: one moment everything was calm, the next a shinobi appeared with a flash above him, crashing bodily into the Senju heir.
Tobirama’s ninja instincts flared, panic and adrenaline kicking in. He used all his upper body strength to push the man off, and as soon as his legs were free he sprang up and off.
Tobirama grabbed the only weapon he had on his person (a single kunai, he wasn’t meant to meet enemies at his private training grounds!) and faced off the foreign shinobi, a man with bright blond hair, from a safe distance. “Who are you?” Tobirama demanded, scowling. “This is Senju land!” How could this stranger have gotten all the way there? The borders were patrolled! Was this a scout forewarning an attack?

Unposted Fanfiction Masterlist
This is the Masterlist of my fanfic that is not posted, but I intend to write and post them all. I hope you enjoy what I have for fic ideas. I write many pairings, and am not afraid of rarepairs. I hope to inspire others to write for all the different eras of time that could be written for, as the well, jewel, and god tree can all be used to move Kagome or others into other worlds, at different eras of those worlds. I will update this list with any new ideas.
Feel free to ask about anything that might catch your eye, or make you a bit curious as to what exactly I’m thinking of with each fic, I’ll be happy to talk about it!
A Twisted Feudal Fairytale - Neji/Kagome
Eventual smut, Rated Explicit
When Naraku tries to send Kagome to another world, he never expected to get caught using the spell in their camp by a bunch of shinobi ready to pummel him into next week to defend her. Who knew that having time and space warped around you would allow you to world hop alongside time hopping?
Accidental Transportation - Kagome/?
Eventual smut, Rated Explicit
The second Hokage had made preparations for the event of the Uchiha’s rebellion after his brother had passed on. The walls he’d had built around the Uchiha compound contained a special seal that had been discovered to be efficient at transportation. All he did was set it to another world, one he’d visited accidentally with his brother when experimenting with a new jutsu. He’d set it to have two triggers. Poor Kagome is one of them.
Akatsuki: Blast To Another World’s Past - Akatsuki/Kagome Harem
Eventual mass amounts of smut. Rated Explicit
Apparently mixing two space-time jutsu had a very high chance of being tossed into another world. But he did not expect the link of the rings all the members wore to transport them with him. He’d seen that the pain and suffering of this world had turned to tranquility and peace. The question was, was it worth staying?
Aspect Of Four Souls: Sakimitama - Itachi/Kagome/Kisame
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit
Midoriko knew Kagome would need a balance for her large soul, or she’d never be able to destroy the abomination she’d made. So she summons two people that would balance her more than the one the Kami had tried to match her to. He was insufficient, and uninterested in her. These two, they would be best for her. They would make sure her Sakimitama was present and in place so she could destroy the Jewel, just as she would heal them as well.
Changing History - Young!Jiraiya/Kagome
The well reopens as Kagome knew it would. But when she materializes in the bottom and climbs out, she finds herself not even in her own world anymore. She finds the well sitting in the middle of a road, and a man with white har, red streaks falling from his eyes that towers over her. When she looks back at the well behind her, she finds nothing. It vanished into thin air. The man is eyeing her suspiciously.  Where is she, and what's going on now?!
Connected Reflections - Kagome/?
Eventual smut. Rated Explicit
Naraku has gone completely silent. No one has seen hide nor hair of him for months. Then the barrier hiding his layer falls. Inside they find a huge bronze mirror. It’s big enough to walk through. Kagome accidentally activates it.
Dreams Of A New Reality - Itachi/Kagome Shisui/Sasuke
Eventual loads of smut Definitely Rated Explicit
The Shikon’s efforts to torture and break Kagome fail. She pulled two men out of the dreams she was having. Now she’s pulled a third. They speak at length on this issue, and easily decide to help her with her task in exchange for finding a way back. In the end, the Jewel tries to force them back, but the bond the well created around them is too strong. Many things have changed in their world with the addition of Kagome, and she didn;t know how many cans of worms she was opening by trying to save them. Including the population of Uchiha that would be living in Konoha. It seems as though a solution has been found for that though.
Dreamwalkers - Itachi/Kagome/Shisui
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit
With dreams of three boys and the fate of the clan they come from clear to her eye at night, Kagome is given a choice. Forsake her world, and save them, or live in a world where she doesn’t really belong anymore
Fugaku had been having dreams of a girl for the past three years. His position weighs heavily on him. He wishes that girl was real, and here to help him resolve the issues between the village and his clan. He didn’t want to stage a coup. But his clan has demanded such of him. He would give that girl anything to stop the extermination of his clan that he sees on the horizon.
Existing Within Each Other - Kakashi/Kagome
Eventual smut. Rated Explicit
Travelling can be a very dull thing to do, especially by foot. Kagome came back one day, reading a series called Naruto. It wasn’t long before she not only had all the books in the series, but all her friends reading it too.
Kakashi had been enthralled by this book that was rated for teenagers. His students started it. He’d even seen Jiraiya reading it! But his curiosity was piqued. This series ‘Inu Yasha’ was good. Only when he finished it, the main heroine, Kagome, materialized on his bed. What fresh Jutsu was this?!
Fighting Hatred - Obito/Kagome
Emotional Angst. Rated Mature
“It’s okay if you like someone else, Obito! I’m used to being left behind!” The painful, watery smile she gave him tore his heart out. Before he could respond, she looked at the ground as the tears streamed down her face. A sob escaped her. He blinked and the stool beside him was empty. The ends of black hair turning the corner like a cat was all he could see of her before she was gone. His chest ached, and suddenly, all he could think of was her. How had he been so blind?
From The Garden Of The Gods: Founders Of The Leaf - Kagome/?
*Please note that I have asked for permission from the original author of ‘From The Garden Of The Gods’ on ff.net, She has abandoned the Suna fic she was writing, and it was plainly stated in her fics as well.
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
Kagome has been dropped into a world she doesn’t recognize, and it’s not long before she realizes that no one understands her. Coming across a village being built, and made of many different shinobi clans, Kagome doesn’t think she could make it on her own in the village.
Instead she tries to not bring attention to herself, well aware that they would most likely try to kill her or use her horribly. She decides to stay close to the village, but not become a part of it. Her anonymity is scattered to the wind when enemy shinobi attack her small home, hoping to weaken the in-progress village. She’s cornered by three very powerful shinobi, and only her barrier separates her from them.
My Daughter From Beyond The Well - Shisui/Kagome
Rating Unknown. Depends on it I decide for it to be fluffy or not
Marriage within the Uchiha clan meant loyalty to your partner, and while he was never disloyal, it did not mean that he did not have a lover before his marriage was arranged. His wife did as well. What made his so different was the well he had to use to get there. Now, nine years after he was forced to leave her, a small girl arrives in the well. She looks like a carbon copy of him, except for her hair and eyes. They are her mothers. His ex-lover. In her hands, a letter covered with tears, and the strong scent of medicine. Itachi is curious, as he should be. She was another sibling for him to care for. But Shisui, he was enthralled. He had no idea what she was scared of, but he desperately wanted to eliminate it for her. Sasuke wonders why she’s so sad all the time.
Growing Intertwined - Yamato/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
The Final Battle did not go as planned. No one expected the Jewel to throw Kagome into another world. Scared and surrounded by people holding weapons in her direction, Kagome throws a barrier up unconsciously. It’s not long before someone realizes that she’s not going to hurt them, but she was too busy crying, calling for Inu Yasha. The gentle, careful knock on her barrier has her looking up into calm, gentle black almond-shaped eyes. He was crouched in front of her, a sign that he didn’t want to hurt her.
“Nice barrier you got there.”
Hatake’s Saving Grace - Kakashi/Kagome
Rating undetermined. Not sure if just fluff is going into this fic.
Sakumo couldn’t thank her enough. Not when she’d saved his life, and given him grandchildren. Beautiful, blue-eyed grandchildren. And her food saved so many lives.
Hokage In The Well - Kagome/?
Rating Undecided. Not sure if this one will have a pairing. BroTP yes, but as far as shipping goes… no idea who to pair her with for this one.
Kagome had no idea what to think when five men appeared in the well, three of which were arguing with each other. The other two watched from the sidelines. She had no clue what a Hokage was, nor why one of them was not one while all the others were. What fresh hell is this?
Kagome Saves Tobirama - Tobirama/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
Falling asleep in your dorm room with all the nekomata napping in your sweater resulted in waking up in a different world surrounded by shinobi who were being hunted by other shinobi, and you were the only chance at escape. Who knew?
Last Ditch Effort - Hashirama/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
While rooting out and eliminating traitors who wanted the war to continue raging, Hashirama feels a pull. Following it, he finds a girl in the bottom of a well in an abandoned village. She was fighting for her life, and losing. The stinger in her leg would make sure of it. He didn’t know how much the village he’d dreamed of building needed her until he decided to save her.
Like Her Namesake - Neji/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
Irony could describe how he’d found her, and how her name had been marked on the underside of his upper arm forever, just as the bird chained to his can seal had been marked on hers.
“Kagome, Kagome.
The Bird in the cage.
When will you come out?
In the light of the dawn?
The crane and the turtle slipped.
Who will betray you now?”
Little Kagome - Obito/Kagome
Rating Undecided.
After being found abandoned as a baby, Kagome clings to Obito, and he brings her home when the orphanage turns her away. When Fugaku gives them permission to keep her, especially seeing the bond she has with Obito, he feels his priorities shifting to her. Luckily, she is a full trained priestess with lots of experience protecting herself.
Loving the Hate Away - Minato/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
When offers of training from each member of the Inu Taichi are rescinded shortly after being made, Kagome wonders if there is something wrong with her. But the really kind man from her dreams gives her a small pointer that uncovers the truth about the person she thought she loved, trusted with her life. When she sees the man in her dreams for the last time, she gives him the ability to summon her as thanks.
Making My Way To You - Kakashi/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
Soulmate’s AU inspired by Kakshisninken’s Scribbles series, written with permission to borrow some themes.
Kagome never expected to have a Soulmate, much less one in a different world that paired everyone off automatically. And what’s Chakra?
Marriage Of Protection - Kakashi/Kagome
Smut. Rated Explicit
An illegal, unsanctioned summoning has the Hokage in deep water. He is finally forced to go after Danzo, the problems he’s caused greatly outweigh the benefits to him being the Shadow Kage. The girl he’s summoned now remains a giant target for the rest of the world, and that’s not fair to her. Thus he needs to marry her to someone strong enough to protect her from Danzo and the rest of the world. He cannot select anyone who would be forced to concede to clan politics, which made his selection pool very small. Luckily there is one man, last of his clan. He will do nicely.
Match Made In Hokage - Kakashi/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
When Tsunade informs Kakashi that he is to become the next Hokage until Naruto can take over, Kakashi is stunned. However neither Kagome or Kakashi knew why they or the council had to be present for such a decision.
“However, there is a weakness that must be eradicated. Hatake is both the last of his clan, and not married. This could be taken advantage of. We have selected the best candidate to fill this position. We require Hatake and Higurashi to wed, increasing political ties, and to produce heirs to continue the Hatake line. They will be wed before the mantle of Hokage will be passed. The Higurashi Matron has been contacted and has given both permission and support to this motion. Higurashi has expressed a lack of interest in any partner in the time she has been part of Konoha, and Hatake has expressed interest in her. Thus the motion will carry.”
Kagome stood frozen in both shock and anger at the council and Tsunade’s audacity. Kakashi was in deep shit.
Midoriko’s Gift - Shisui/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
Shisui wasn’t given the chance to use the erasing jutsu. No, he was taken just after he fell. Waking up in a cave with a pretty girl asking if he was okay wasn’t a bad thing either. But how would he know? Both his eyes were pulled out, and he was blind.
Mission Unexpected - Kagome/?
Rated teen. No smut in this fic, no one to pair her with that isn’t Inu Yasha.
Minato had gone after his students after they’d been forced into and cornered in an abandoned well. He’d tried to get them out quickly, but hadn’t noticed the activated scroll tossed in on top of them until the ground fell out beneath them, and everything became a large, starry void. Surly this was a genjutsu. Why couldn’t they break it then? Amd who is this girl who jumped in on top of them and disappeared?
No Where To Go - Itachi/Kagome
Eventual Smut/ Rated Explicit.
Naraku tried to escape the Final Battle. He had defeated the Slayer and Monk, targeting them specifically. The jewel had told him they were her ancestors. Yet, he had still been forced to run. She had followed of course, nothing but death awaited her in that world anyways. She didn’t expect to out a corrupt politician when she’d only tried to protect him from Naraku, nor did she expect how high up he was. She also healed a boy accidentally, and found herself the focus of an entire village of Shinobi. The political position she found herself in for completing her task made her wish she had faded from existence in her world. But there is no way back now.
Perfect - Yamato/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit
Inu Yasha’s uncharacteristic behavior has Kagome worried. But he makes her take a vacation. He didn’t know the well had made a second direction, a world slip. After explaining everything to the ‘Hokage’ Kagome makes a deal with him. He sends two ANBU members to assist her in her task, hoping she’ll fall for one of them, and they for her. It would give her reason to stay in Konoha, and the village would be that much more powerful. Yamato and Kakashi never expected the roller coaster that all of them would be forced to ride.
Pop-Up Prophecy - Itachi/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
Kagome is dropped right behind two people. An old man with spiky white hair in a low ponytail, who dwarfed the smaller black-haired smooth  ponytail wearer.
“Ah there she is. Take care of her, Itachi. She is the key of salvation for your clan.”
“Of course Jiraiya-sama.”
Preventing Chaos - Izuna/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
Izuna is stolen from Madara right before he was supposed to die. He woke up to a girl healin him in a place where he recognized nothing. There was a box talking to him, and are those dog-ears on that boy’s head?
Putting On A Show- Uchiha Style - Itachi/Kagome
Smut very early on, Arranged Marriage. Rated Explicit.
The whole Uchiha clan was moved after the ninetails attack not because they were not trusted, but because of a prophecy a man bearing blue eyes and other-worldly knowledge had given them after proving his abilities, and passing on. Of course any soothsayer would know when their progeny would follow them. The only difference is that now Fugaku had been notified of her arrival, and the Uchiha’s involvement in it. The Hokage asked them for a show, and now that Fugaku understood, he would get the show of his life in the only way his clan knew how to give one. Uchiha-style.
Recall: Shikon’s Return - Akatsuki/Kagome Harem
Smut from the very beginning. Rated Explicit.
She’d finally destroyed the jewel. She was spat into a world not her own. When she is come across by Tobi and Zetsu, they note her precarious position in this world and take advantage of it. She’s to become the Akatsuki’s healer for the main groups of shinobi partners, with benefits. (Nod to AwolAngel’s ‘Maid with Benefits’) Inadvertently, they all end up smitten or very fond of her, and she of them. So it’s a no-brainer when Kagome feels yoki coming from the well she’d arrived in, that they’d all follow her to help her destroy it. But the results of this are mind-blowing when they step into a clearing only Kagome recognizes after all of them are pulled through the well.
“You all know there’s supposed to be a large scar on my side, right?”
The unblemished skin on her side could only mean one thing.
Roof Of The Pillars - Hashirama/Tobirama/Kagome/Madara/Izuna
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
The adorable little girl in the bunny clothes had no idea that she would be the end of the feudal wars in another world, and the glue of an alliance through marriage to two sets of brothers from opposing clans.
But those big blue eyes held peace for all of them.
Saigo No Akuma - Minato/Kagome
Eventual Smut, Rated Explicit.
Kagome’s lost everything to the jewel. After being trained and then transported to another world, she finds herself protecting the village during the Nine-tails attack, which not only ends up saving the Uchiha, but also Minato and Kushina’s only son. Kushina’s last wish was that Kagome help Minato raise Naruto, since he was the Hokage, and that Minato take care of Kagome.
Shattered Again - The Jewel’s Existence - Madara/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
The jewel tried to bring another ally to Naraku, but the Goshinboku interferes and changes which point of Madara’s life he is taken from. The Jewel shatters itself again to keep from being destroyed. This ends up saving both him, and the group he has inadvertently become a part of. With Madara’s addition to the group, Inu Yasha notices how he only has eyes for Kagome. This is a good thing. She’ll be in good hands. He leaves her, and frees her from her promises. Madara is there to pick up the pieces, of both her heart and the jewel.
Shisui’s Resolve: Kagome’s Happiness - Shisui/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
After being betrayed and abandoned, Kagome is dropped into a different world, right in front of Shisui. When brought before the Hokage, Shisui makes an offer that will both save his clan, free them of the curse, and bring them into the village as they had originally been promised all those years ago at its founding, so long as she is willing to do so.
Stuck In His World - Kakashi/Kagome
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
After keeping Kagome and her remaining family from returning to her world through a portal, Kakashi brings them to the Hokage. Normally his paranoia pays off. Rarely does it end up getting him into trouble. This is one of those times.
Uchiha’s Heart Of Konoha - Madara/Kagome/Izuna
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
The well prevents disaster in the shinobi world. It takes Izuna from Madara right in front of him, and delivers him to Kagome to save him. When she goes to his world to tell his older brother, she figured she’d only gain some new friends, possibly help for the task in her world’s past. Not two very powerful, handsome, kind, doting men intent on wooing her, and making her happy in return for preventing their grief.
Uncorrupted - Obito/Kagome
Undecided Rating.
Black Zetsu knew there was a chance that Obito could be sucked into another world while practicing his kamui. Whether the real Obito disappeared or not, the Eye Of The Moon Plan would come to fruition.
Wishing For Backup - Kagome/?
Eventual Smut. Rated Explicit.
Waking up to a kunai held at your throat with a demand for answers by a voice you only recognize from an anime is more than a little jarring, especially when the person really is from that person really is from that anime. Kagome wants to strangle the Jewel now.
Wooing A Higurashi - Madara/Kagome
Envental Smut. Rated Explicit.
How dare she? She stole his Gunbai, yelled at him, and forced him into immobilization for an extended period of time! How dare she flash her teeth at him?!
I will update this list as more ideas are added, or if I post a fic. If I write one-shots, then those will simply be posted to the finished fic list. Of course not all the details are in these summaries. Feel free to ask if you have questions or concerns regarding my fics. I’ll try my best to clear up anything, or just gush. Please enjoy!

Wabi-sabi
@uchi-madara
#94  [ prev ] << >> [ next ]
This is where the fun starts.
Both of the Tobiramas move to take their place on either of Madara's sides, simply watching as the water allows just about everything to come out of Madara's hair. Tobirama surely does look a bit baffled at the sheer amount of random things, weaponry included, especially since he would have thought that Hashirama had managed to remove it all.
How is Madara even able to hold so many things in his hair and wings? That's what Tobirama would like to know because it complicates his job even further.
"How indeed," his clone supplies before bending down a bit to begin the long and tedious work of simply removing every piece of alien material from Madara's hair and wings, no matter is organic or not. He needs to be rid of these things before they can even proceed to clean him up.
Tobirama himself soon joins, carding his hands through Madara's other wing to shake out (or alternatively pull out by force) any stray weapons or twigs, or any other object he might find.
The water slowly turns deep muddy brown and then almost black and Tobirama has to eventually let the water out and replace it with clean water in order to get somewhere with the session. Especially since the longer Madara sits in filthy water, the filthier he will get as well.
(Simultaneously he suspects that this will not be the last time he is forced to change the water.)
While he is busy doing that and while his clone fishes out all the material filth and debris from the bathtub, a quick look over Madara's side allows him to notice the trail of blood coming from somewhere around Madara's shoulder.
"....are you hurt anywhere? Do you..feel any pain?"

‘till death do us part - chapter 2 [tobirama senju/you]
Chapter 2 - Union
Summary: In which there are many preparations to make for the wedding, and Tobirama has a hard time keeping his brother in check.
Words: 4.3k
A/N: Merry Christmas! I try to keep everything under 5k TT
Also available on AO3.
<< Chapter 1 - Allegiances
Eight months later…
Because for some reasons beyond your understanding, you are not allowed to see Tobirama days prior to the wedding. It is in accordance with the Senju clan traditions, and while you are very happy to adapt to their customs and whatnot, this part seems so absurd to you. You are really beginning to miss that scowling face of your betrothed, and you have not even married yet.
Then again, maybe this is why such a tradition exists. Time and distance do make the heart grow fonder.
All you can do is busy yourself with teaching kenjutsu at the Academy part-time, more reading and bride preparations with Mito, and advising your newly Chunin students, since you cannot run missions with them while you wait to be married. The three of them seem to enjoy their newfound autonomy from you, and while you worry for them, you are glad that they are learning to be on their own.
Fortunately, you had found a friend in your future sister-in-law, Uzumaki Mito.
While she can be firm and strict, you find that you can easily open up to her and even joke around with her, as you tend to do to diffuse any negative feelings in the air. You couldn’t help it. Humor is always a comforting fallback when everything feels bleak.
"Are you alright?" Mito asks, as she helps you fit into your wedding robes. "You seem preoccupied."
You shrug. "I guess I am nervous."
Mito smiles and brushes your hair aside. "I'm sure he is, too."
"Did you also go through these traditions?"
Mito tampers down a smile. "Not all of them. You are kind of the first big event for the family in a while. Even my eldest son did not get such grandeur for his wedding."
  You raise an eyebrow. "Really?"
"Hashirama insists on throwing you and Tobirama a huge celebration, and well, back then, we were at war. I was married young, and my focus was on helping my husband, the tailed-beasts, our young village and alliances. And raising our firstborn son."
  "Sounds like a full plate."
Mito chuckles. "It was."
You let out a small, nervous laugh. "I hope I am not letting you all down or anything. I did not live in the same circumstances. I couldn't possibly relate."
"Oh, how preposterous. We are happy that you are marrying into our family. You need not to worry."
You smile discreetly, touched by Mito’s words. "I am flattered, thank you."
Mito turns you around by the shoulders and studies you. "Please take care of Tobirama. You know how he is."
Mito hums and meets your eyes, back to her serious self. "Now, would you like your hair up or down?"
//
When Hashirama is not attending to his Hokage duties or taking care of his family, he is nowhere to be found except in places where his vices are exacerbated. If no one is there to keep him in line, he passes his time by getting inebriated wherein he can barely put one foot in front of the other, or his new favorite past-time: gambling.
Tobirama, as much as he has refined his sensory skills, cannot find his elder brother.
Which means that he really does not want to be found.
However, he always knows where Hashirama will end up. He just has to follow the paper trail of new debt and hearsays from the common folk that are now residing in the village.
Tobirama is not angry, but he is frustrated that his brother refuses to get his act together. It has been months, and the year is almost about to end but his brother is still caught up with Madara’s desertion, and it is hindering his job as Hokage. Tobirama can only do so much to support his elder brother, and while he will never give up on him, the job gets challenging when he has to be there to guard his brother’s decisions and thoughts.
Tobirama will let him wallow in his grief, but he cannot allow him to sabotage the very village that he had dreamt of establishing.
This was his dream, and Tobirama has sought to make sure that it will stand for the future generations to come.
It does not help that Hashirama keeps throwing money on him to ensure that his wedding is a huge spectacle in the village. He would have liked it to be a small family affair, but Tobirama just wants to do whatever he can to make his brother feel better. The truth is, Hashirama is a pretty good gambler, but as always, he takes uncalculated risks that empties his pockets at the end of the night. When he does not want to quit, he ends up taking from their clan’s money and the village’s coiffers.
Tobirama has no choice but to keep reprimanding him, and while it is one of his many specialties, it is not easy to do so. He understands so well that his brother is hurting that it frustrates him to no end.
Mostly because he has no remedy for this but time. A concept that he continuously battles with.
It is nearing midnight, and Tobirama still has not found his brother. He wishes to converse with him, especially now that he is about to delve into another chapter of his life, but their brotherly talks have been scarce, and sometimes Tobirama can still sense that Hashirama still holds a small amount of resentment towards him.
Tobirama cannot really blame him. What he feels most guilty of, is that he is, to put it simply, happy and if he goes on his merry way, what will become of his brother? How is he in a better place when his own blood is suffering?
  It is not fair.
Tobirama wants to help him, wants to fix it all to make it better, because that is who he is. He is the one who has the solutions and the formulas and the theories. He is supposed to be the one to look out for his brother, to take care of him because this has been the way things were since they were little. He is supposed to make sure that Hashirama has a reasonable voice beside him. He wishes he knows what to do in order to comfort him, or maybe he just wants to be forgiven and hear those words from him.
Despite the lateness of the night, the streets are quite energetic and bright. There are still many people milling around, some rowdy and some enjoying the activities that the night can only bring out.
Tobirama passes by a few active stores, and he tries to shut out the overwhelming smells and noises and the icky feeling on his skin that appears when he is in a crowded place, or when he is particularly in overdrive mode. He is glad that he is wearing his long, tight-fitted clothes, or he would have screamed if someone accidentally brushes past him.
Well, as loud as a stubborn person like him can scream.
Tobirama takes a deep breath and he concentrates so that he can try again. He infuses his chakra, and starts to expand his scope, little by little, and examines the chakra signatures around him. He breaks them down, like he might a puzzle or a new object he has discovered and he holds them up for observation. He looks to the places where no one might go, listens in to spaces where no one can be heard.
The rest of the physical world falls away, and he connects himself to every temperamental presence surrounding him. Even those who can disappear does not mean they are completely invisible.
He feels the whole village in him, can count those who are sleeping and those who are still awake. He senses you as he is drawn to you like a moth to a flame, and his heart releases a tender breath, a fact that he will keep hidden from you and anyone else.
  He keeps going.
Then, Tobirama catches a blinding presence and he zeroes in like a hawk.
His eyes go towards the Hokage mountain, where his brother’s face is carved like a watchful god. He lets out a hefty sigh and takes to the rooftops to get to where his brother is.
He arrives silently, and makes himself as quiet and small as possible. He hides in the shadows, and he glances at his elder brother, who is sitting on the ground and staring at the distance. The gentle breeze that passes without a pattern picks up strands of his hair and carries it along the way, for however long the breeze blows.
The night engulfs them like a blanket, and Tobirama waits on his elder brother, for as long as it takes.
//
Things begin to look up two days before the wedding.
However, Tobirama is a mess. More than his usual mess.
“Brother, you are getting married in a couple of days,” Hashirama chides, purposely messing up Tobirama’s weapons and the supplies he is trying to pack. “This is no time for a mission.”
Tobirama presses his lips together into a grim, tight line. He still keeps moving around, eyes focused on his task and trying his hardest not to explode at his brother.
“I am not going on a mission,” Tobirama looks down at his hands, which are trembling slightly. Then, he gives his brother a pointed look.
“Then, why all this fuss?” Hashirama raises a kind eyebrow.
Tobirama keeps mum, and he glares at the mess his elder brother made. He was only trying to organize his things into one place so that he will know where to find them when he has moved into his newly-wed house.
"These are for the new house, so I won't lose them," Tobirama sighs and his forehead knits. "Elder brother…"
Hashirama clasps his younger brother’s shoulders and steadies him. He tries to meet his gaze, but Tobirama’s eyes are somewhere else, and he looks to see that they are apprehensive, not because he does not want to marry this woman that he had courted despite his restrictions on himself, but because he is uncertain of what is to come. Tobirama never likes uncertainty. This is not like those battles he had fought that were full of surprises. At least he would know how to act and adapt.
  Whereas, now.
“I do not have much to give her,” Tobirama confesses quietly, looking down at his feet.
Hashirama’s face morphs into surprise. While it is not strange for Tobirama to confide with him, this catches him off guard since Tobirama is opening himself up to him with his doubts.
  "Are you nervous?" Hashirama asks.
Tobirama glares at his brother as if asking him such a question is a crime.
Hashirama’s face softens and he looks towards the opened shoji doors. He takes a few seconds to answer, taking his time to look at the night sky that blanketed the village they founded with blood, sweat and tears.
"You can protect her, provide to her a home...a family."
Tobirama takes his hand to clutch the other hand and keep it from shaking. Sometimes, when he is not in battle, his hands shake randomly. Sometimes, it is aggravated by his inability to manage his emotions.
For someone who teaches and practices the ways of controlling emotions, there are just times when it comes out like water leaking out of a dam with several holes. Tape one shut and another appears.
"Besides, she agreed to marry you. She might have seen something past your handsome face.”
Tobirama rolls his eyes. "Elder brother, stop it."
Hashirama bursts out laughing, and Tobirama smiles despite himself. It has been a while since they shared a laugh.
"Do not worry," Hashirama reassures him and reaches for his shoulder. “Just be happy, brother.”
Tobirama blinks. Happiness is so tangible, yet a matter he never tried to pursue. After all, what happiness can he strive for when he is at war? Then again, things have been relatively peaceful. Perhaps, he can try. As much as his sense of logic can let him.
//
The day finally comes, that you will see the man you have been waiting for. It feels like you have not seen Tobirama in forever, and the longer the procession drags on, the more you grow impatient. You really miss the bastard, and you keep looking around just to get a glimpse of him and hurting your neck in the process because of the heavy headdress that you have allowed your hair to be subjected to.
You and Tobirama are in the same house, preparing and waiting for the wedding to commence, and yet, he still feels so faraway.
At this point, just seeing his hand might even light you on fire.
  You honestly cannot wait.
Your heart thuds in anticipation, as you wait with Mito at the entrance of a hallway that you are supposed to walk through. You know that Tobirama is doing the same at the other side with his brother, and the two of you will meet in the middle, in front of the altar, and where the rest of the clan members and a select few are invited, waiting to witness the wedding.
It has been agreed on that the wedding will be quiet, but the celebration will be a pompous one. However, the attention paid to the details are hard to miss. Your robes are white with gold stitches running up and down to make a few elegant cranes, no doubt commissioned from the best seamstresses in the village. The decorations are surreal, with colorful flowers lining your path, or curling up the posts holding, and from here, you can glimpse at the altar, which is situated under an arc of tree branches braided into one another.
Small doves fly past your heads, signalling you to start walking. To your left, Tobirama also begins to walk, mirroring you.
You synchronize your steps with him, and slowly, you are facing each other and walking towards each other. You finally meet him, and he is only a step away.
Tobirama stares straight at you, his focus only on you. His face is as composed as he likes to present it, but his eyes are brimming with a storm. You meet them dead on, because come what may, you are like a rock, unmoving and powerful enough to break apart crashing waves.
Two of Tobirama’s nephews come forward, bringing three cups of sake on each porcelain tray. The priest at the altar comes forward, wearing his ceremonial robes, and he begins to speak.
Funny enough, most of it falls deaf to your ears until Tobirama is staring at you with disbelief, no doubt preparing to lecture you in your own private time.
Tobirama takes the first cup of sake meant for you and hands it to you, and you accept meekly.
The priest holds out his hands towards the cup. “As you take a sip of this cup, do you promise to honor each other, to fight for one another and to be each other’s advocate?”
“I do,” Tobirama says, his voice rings in the air, though he only said it in his strict and quiet tone.
  “I do.”
And the two of you drink the cup.
You take the second cup, as did Tobirama.
“Do you promise to let go of your past in order to forge a new path for your future, to set aside differences and grow with each other, and learn to be compassionate and open to each other?”
  “I do.”
“These last cups–” the priest gestures, and then he picks the last cups up. Then, he pours them between the ground between the two of you and hands them back to you. “–symbolizes you as individuals. Today, you are now one.”
The priest re-fills the cups to the brim.
“For as long as you are one, your cups shall never empty. Never will you walk alone again, and burden yourself with the throes of life on your own. You are man and wife, woman and husband, a union of equals as of this moment from now on.”
You and Tobirama drink the last cup, and set it down on the trays.
“Until death do you part,” the priest concludes.
“Until death do us part,” Tobirama repeats, and you do the same. You stare into his eyes, completely enthralled.
The priest takes Tobirama’s hand and yours, and he joins them. “Now, let each other in by letting your power flow through each other.”
You close your eyes and gasp, as Tobirama’s chakra flows into your veins, and you feel him, in such an intimate way that you are moved to tears. Never had you let anyone inside you like this, not even those who are closest to you. Tobirama envelops you like kindled fire, and you are given a new sense of power. This must be what Mito had meant when she had said that she was able to give Hashirama more power.
You do the same with Tobirama, and he grips your hand as he lets you in.
Then, you open your eyes, completely energized. It is like you are seeing a whole new world.
“It is finished,” the priest announces, and the audience, which you have forgotten about explodes with applause.
//
The rest of the Senju clan follows you and your new husband to Hashirama’s house, where the celebration of your wedding will commence. The procession goes through and around the village, a procession worthy of the Shodaime Hokage's brother. People look on and cheer, some throw flowers, rice or beads, and children dance around the streets. Claps and sounds of joy erupt from every corner of the village, and your heart catches at your throat.
Mito was right when she told you there wasn’t much to celebrate in their family in a while. Your family now.
Beside you in the carriage, Tobirama is not exactly stiff, but is not exactly relaxed either. It seems like he is expecting somebody to come jump at him any moment now, but he is not trying to make it obvious. You glance at him, debating whether you should grab his hand but there is no need to ponder anymore when you find his hand inching towards yours, and then winding his fingers through yours.
You hear Tobirama sigh in relief, and you smile softly. Like in the wedding ceremony, you feel his chakra intertwine with yours and you close your eyes from the sensation. It is something so new but so familiar at the same time. You spend the rest of the ride in silence, and when the carriage stops, Tobirama gets off first, and then waits for you outside.
As you begin to step down, he grabs you by the waist and lowers you to the ground.
Pretty soon, the two of you are lost in the background music and the chatters of the people. It is a huge party, almost everyone is invited or passing through to get food and to congratulate the newlyweds.
You get rid of your heavy headdresses and opt for a simple style that keeps the hair away from your face. You did not want to injure your neck any further.
You stick close to Tobirama, your husband , knowing that if you leave his side, he will get very agitated or retreat into himself.
Husband , you think with a smile. It is such a new word, but something that feels just right when you are near Tobirama.
Even though it is also his day, he does not generally do well in huge, loud crowds. As a shinobi having a gift for sensory abilities, too many people in his space gets him overwhelmed too quickly, especially when he loosens up. You know that Tobirama is skilled and being around his brother who seems to have an endless reserve of chakra has honed his sensory skills, but there are too many incoming noises and smells and there are just too many colors and lights around him.
"Let’s get out of here," you suggest to Tobirama.
Tobirama glances around, hesitation clouding his features. "This party is for us."
You hold back a smile. Of course, you know that he will commit to this event until the end, but you can sense his growing discomfort.
You lean closer, and Tobirama stiffens, pulling his arms closer to his body.
“You okay?” You ask. You reach out to his arm and you squeeze it. Your hand barely compares to his arm.
Tobirama nods, but you know that he is only like this for you. You have learned long ago that his sincerity goes way beyond his words and that makes you fall in love with him even deeper. A long time ago, you would have never seen how considerate he is, but you have learned to look within.
So, you do what you have to do.
“Don’t we have to travel after this?” You continue, and then you smile. “I can hardly wait for you to take me on our wedding bed.”
Tobirama’s eyes widen in alarm and he looks around, clearly embarrassed. “Stop being ridiculous.”
You raise an eyebrow, and you purposely make your voice louder. “So no taking me–”
Tobirama grabs your arm, and all the noise around you abruptly ends and the atmosphere quiets.
Your husband slowly lets go of you, and you turn to him with a smile.
“Eager, aren’t you?” You tease him.
“You need to stop doing that,” Tobirama chastises, but you hear his embarrassment through his posturing annoyance.
You grin cheekily, having accomplished your goal to get him to a much quieter place. You look around and you realize that you are inside the house that will be your new home after you return from your honeymoon. The house is still bare of what makes it a home for the two of you, since your things need to be moved here, but there are already furniture and ornaments around, probably a courtesy of Hashirama. He has been spending worrying amounts of money these days.
You take a deep breath, and it dawns to you that you are really alone with Tobirama and you suddenly feel shy. The atmosphere between the two of you is not exactly awkward, but it seems like the both of you are out of words at the moment.
“I do not know how to do this,” Tobirama murmurs quietly after a long time of looking anywhere but each other.
You detect a slight quiver in his voice.
You, being you, of course, in order to lift up the serious moment cracks a joke. “What? The consummation part?” You ask. “Contrary to popular belief, I also do not know how.”
Tobirama stares at you, unimpressed.
You smile sheepishly and then you quiet down to let silence descend upon the two of you. Tobirama takes his time stringing his words together, and you watch his face, picking up on the subtle twitches and softening.
“I will not be the best husband, nor be the best man for you,” Tobirama starts, his voice low and like velvet to your ears. “But I will do everything I can to protect you and to provide for you. I will do right by you, this I promise with all my life.”
You press a hand on his chest, and you look up into his eyes. “And I promise that I will take care of you, and stand by your side even if the world turns on you. I will be there, no matter what.”
Tobirama winds an arm around your waist and pulls you closer. Then he lifts you up, until you are sharing the same breath as him. He looks down at your lips, and you watch his pretty, white eyelashes flutter.
“Until death do us part,” he murmurs so tenderly that it nearly melts your heart.
You meet those sincere, red eyes. You notice how unguarded he looks. This is truly the first time you have seen him without any walls. It is quite rare, and you want to capture it in your mind forever.
“Until death do us part,” you say back to him, and you lean forward to steal his lips.
Tobirama freezes momentarily, but he overcomes it and he returns the kiss, even more passionately than you began it. He seizes your waist and pulls you even closer up to him, and he deepens the kiss further. Your chest against his fight for the space to expand, but air is not a necessity when you are desperately breathing him in, pulling him even closer into you.
You pull away, and Tobirama looks at you questioningly. He looks...almost soft.
“Come on, let’s check out our bedroom,” you murmur and you tug on the front of his clothes.
Tobirama looks away and he grips your waist.
You grab his hand to lead him forward and Tobirama plants his feet to the ground like a child unwilling to get up when throwing a tantrum.
“What?” You prompt, and Tobirama squeezes your hand. You look down at your joined hands and suppress a giggle. “We’re married now, aren’t we? We have to get to the best part.”
Tobirama glares at you. “Stop making fun of me.”
“You signed up for it,” you retort.
  Tobirama looks peeved. “That’s fair.”
“Now, come on,” you smile beguilingly, and when you drag him towards the direction of your new bedroom, he follows willingly.
To be continued...
