There are some scenes in BSD you could have fun with actually
A doctor becomes the leader of an organization by killing the last one, making it look like natural causes somehow with the witness being an apprenticed aged guy telling him to say that the former leader said that his successor was the doctor
Like that would be cool as shit in bonewarriors. Evil medic that gained power in a way that people can’t question but also like… should? Would be a hell of an exploration I think
Ok but like, that's Good writing. Good writing isn't as much fun to fix. From what you're telling me, Bungo is a Good series
If there was any anime I was going to beat with a hammer until it's a good story it's Naruto. That is the kind of anime that's so close to being good its ending will fold a protein in your brain wrong and become a prion disease

I submitted something similar to Ray for the team uzumaki au but now I’m hopping it was eaten by tumblr just so there isn’t a weird cross post double thing. BUT we’re talking foxy naruto so-
According to some people’s stories, foxes have been known to leave gifts for people much like crows (the sources are first hand accounts so idk if this is true or an accurate reflection of fox mannerisms). So I’m just picturing Naruto leaving pretty rocks, animal bones, buttons, weapons, etc for his team. But since it’s Naruto of course it’s not normal versions of those things. So the “shiny rocks” are probably literal crystals and diamonds that he somehow just finds (and normal ones too cuz that’s adorable ), the “animal bones” could include giant ass teeth that are big enough to be made into daggers/swords, the buttons could be like golden cuff links he nicked from on a mission, and the weapons could be anything from old ninja wire he found in a bush to like a legendary blade he found washed up on the shore (Uzushiogakure vibes who?).
As another foxy Naruto thing, I firmly believe he would have an inexplicable urge to feed his team all the time, but not just ramen or their personal favorite foods. He wants to give them food that’s part of a foxes diet. One day he just finds himself foraging for berries and hunting for fresh meat. But since he’s a whole lot bigger and more capable than a regular fox at hunting, his prey is a bit…larger than you’d expect. Later that day, he straight up drops a field dressed bear or something at team 7’s feet look Proud (tm) cuz oh yeah he is so good at keeping his teammates feed and kakashi (who I always head cannon as being both wolfy and entirely incapable of being truly surprised) is like thanks brat you mind if my ninken have some?
Tumblr do be eating things. But they would still be different enough even if Tumblr didn’t eat it.
Akkskshsb at first none of them (well two do them really) have no idea where all the little gifts are coming from. Sakura finds flowers and crystals and kunai lined up on her window sill every morning like clockwork. She pretends to be annoyed by it but she has the first flower, the first gift, pressed and preserved. Sasuke gets more weapons than anything else, but occasionally he’ll get a cool rock. His favorite that he will never admit is a red stone with black marks. It sits by his bed and makes him feel a little less alone.
Kakashi knows. Naruto isn’t the first Uzumaki he’s known. Not the first fox hissed in human skin. Kushina was the same way. The first gift, fresh meat on his counter, one large piece and several smaller ones cut for the ninken, isn’t so much of a surprise as it is a gut punch. A memory. It takes some getting used to, seeing them again. Being claimed. He’s not a kit anymore. Not Kushina’s grumpy little wolf cub, but her son has claimed him all the same.
(The meat tastes like guilt and, perhaps cruelly, hope)
I can see the providing thing being really prevalent when they’re out of the village on missions. Like the first night on their trip to wave Naruto just plonks down a fresh kill with a sharp smile and eyes glinting in the low light and Kakashi has to step in before one of the others could say something to discourage this. They always eat well when they’re out as a team.
(Naruto remembers what it’s like to be hungry. He’ll make sure his people don’t have to feel the same.)

AU that’s been bouncing around in my head for a bit.
One day, at the end of fall, the Senju clan disappears.
Truth be told, they don't know long it's been before they realize. The Senju tend to go on the defensive when it's harvest season, and that usually extends into a quiet winter, at least for as long as Hashirama has been clan head. The lack of aggressive border patrols doesn't raise anyone's alarm.
No, the first word they get at something being wrong comes from a civilian woman, of all places. The kind that show up occasionally to beg the nearest shinobi clan for some charity.
Her village has been all but held hostage by bandits, she tells them, and she'd gone to the Senju who were closer, only --
Only no one had been there.
It seems like an obvious trap at first, and if not that, then perhaps the woman had just come across some abandoned place and mistaken it for the Senju village; Shinobi aren't so easy to find without a guide, after all, and the Senju especially keep themselves secreted away in the woods like animals.
Eventually they'd told her they'd look into it, just as soon as they'd figured out what had happened with the Senju.
Madara insisted on leading the scouting group himself, and he stopped in his tracks as soon as he stepped onto the other side of the river. Looked up and down the tree line with wild eyes, sharingan briefly spinning into a Mangekyo that set the rest of the squad on edge.
"There's…It's nothing. And that means something's wrong." Was all he explained before demanding they move onward.
Izuna didn't understand what he meant until they were much deeper into the forest. There is nothing wrong, no hairs on the back of his neck rising, no feeling of being watched -- and there always is, this deep in Senju territory. Related to the Mokuton, he thinks, so it was no wonder that Madara had noticed first.
So -- something happened to their clan head, Izuna reasons. Perhaps the Senju closed their compound in mourning and redirected the woman elsewhere. It's a reasonable enough explanation, but Madara won't settle until he knows for certain, so he stands by his brother's side and follows him deeper into the woods.
It wasn't as though he was wrong. Something had happened to Hashirama, and the rest of his clan with him.
The gates to the compound are closed, but there are no patrols on the walls, and no traps set on the perimeter to slow their approach. Izuna can't help the sick anxiety twisting up his throat. This has to be bait, something to lure them into a false sense of security and their eventual deaths. Nothing else makes sense.
But a glimpse over the wall show no signs of life inside. No people moving around, no laundry drying on the line, not even any noren fluttering in the wind -- for some reason they've all been taken down, leaving the compound dead and motionless.
The dread only mounts as they make their way over the wall and deeper inside. The houses are empty, stripped down to the floor mats. A few traps have been left behind, but not the dangerous ones Izuna had imagined. Just small scale things, meant to keep intruders out of the abandoned buildings. Easily disarmed, but that only adds to the unease.
They will go back and do a thorough search later, but the only clue, from out of every empty room, every cleared out cellar, every spot of turned dirt where it looked as though even some trees were taken, is in the main square. A circle of soot, smudged and stained deep into the stone. The remains of a seal that was used over and over again, already dissolved and unreadable.
The Senju must have used it. Or it must have done something to them. But what, no one has any idea. ---
The Uchiha never do quite manage to celebrate the disappearance of their enemy. Some do, and some are so clearly relived that the threat is gone, but as winter goes on the feeling that settles across the clan is one of dread. It is one part fear, not knowing what's happened to them, and one part worry about the future. Their entire lives and the lives of their ancestors are filled with memories of their war with the Senju. If they're gone, if it's over, what comes next?
Madara doesn't believe it is. Cannot accept that they are just -- gone. He gets more involved with their spy network than he ever has before hunting for a hint, and writes the daimyo informing him of the Senju's disappearance, hoping that he will get some answer when the thinly veiled request for dominion over those lands is inevitably rejected.
If your words and the rumors I have heard are true, the reply says, Then I see no reason not to accept the claim your clan has held on those lands.
Convenient, that he only acknowledges it now.
Izuna, for his part, settles on an anger that ebbs and flows between scalding rage and petty annoyance. How dare the Senju avoid the revenge that the Uchiha, that Izuna is owed.
He never lets himself slack off in training during the winter, and despite the circumstances this year is no exception. The Senju are tricky. If that mark was a seal, then Tobirama is no doubt responsible. They'll be back, probably at the most inopportune moment, but he'll be ready. ---
It hadn't been so bad, over the winter. There were normally less fights then, anyways, and they'd gotten by whole seasons without skirmishes before. But in the thaw of spring, somehow the anxiety only coils tighter.
Normally this was when they started finding Senju summons tracking their movements. When they'd inevitably get called into opposing sides under for some noble's border dispute and reignite conflict all over again.
Not this year. Somehow, the trees are quieter even on their side of the river. He shivers, when he realizes, but Izuna refuses to think about just how much of what he'd been used to had been the result of Hashirama's bloodline.
There are more missions than normal, true, but it hardly helps things. Their goal was the defeat the Senju, and denied that --
Some want to start picking new fights already, with old Senju allies. Izuna can't say he disagrees, though he knows it's unwise to do without good reason. Anyone who might have been easy to pick off has already scattered banded together with someone else.
Madara has started drinking more often. Izuna doesn't comment. He knows his brother is far from the only one.
(He's reviewed his memories, over and over, he tells Izuna, but the last time he'd seen them nothing had seemed different. It had been on a battlefield, and Hashirama had shouted for peace, had asked what he needed to do to convince him, and Madara had refused to answer, like always. If that had been an ultimatum, shouldn't there have been more?)
(Izuna has looked over his memories, too, but the only difference in Tobirama that day had been darker bags than usual under his eyes.)
Izuna can't stand the mood around the compound; half of his clan mates are acting more like their lover has died than their enemy. He takes those extra missions, and he goes. And keeps going, for days, for weeks, sometimes only staying home for hours at a time because as long as he's on a mission, he doesn't have to think about it. ---
It's a coastal town in Hot Water country, and Izuna spots a face that he attacks on instinct -- no care for the fact that they're in a public market -- his heart is busy singing not dead, not gone even as he lunges for the throat of the one who made him think it with a kunai.
It's a sloppy move, admittedly. One that Tobirama catches with an unimpressed glare.
"Must you?" He asks.
"Yes!" Izuna cries, dancing back from a returning blow that -- does not come. His breath is coming in heaves, though the fight is hardly started. He's too exited, and that means he'll get sloppy, but Tobirama isn't even in his armor right now, he's dressed down looking all the world like he's grocery shopping, so it might be even.
"You were fucking gone." Izuna accuses, "Don't think I'm about to let you get away without payback for all the lives you've taken."
Tobirama glances at the crowd that's started to form around them -- stupid move, but they haven't started pulling out flashy shinobi moves yet so they probably just think they're about to see a street fight.
"Figures." Tobirama mumbles. "It's been months already. Haven't you started to see the benefits of peace?"
Izuna sneers, draws his sword and lunges, but for some infuriating reason Tobirama is focused only on dodging, not fighting back. He seems -- disappointed, almost, which only makes it worse. How is he supposed to explain that he hasn't, that without the enemies they've all been born and raised to kill, his clan has started to stagnate into something hopeless and pathetic.
Tobirama catches sword against a sleeved kunai with a clang and holds it there.
"Consider that we've had to give up our vendettas against you, too, in doing this." He says, "Just… Move on. It'll be better for everyone."
An odd look passes over his face, one Izuna will replay in his memory over and over and still not understand.
"Goodbye, Izuna."
A crack of thunder breaks through the sunny afternoon air, and Tobirama Senju is gone, like the rest of his clan, without a trace.
As if Izuna intends on letting it stay that way.

insane to me that this was all a complete accident and their relationship was literally never intended to be viewed romantically, And Yet It Works So Well.

As someone with one parent who grew up in Romania under Ceauşescu, "communism and dictatorship are not mutually exclusive" seems so obvious that I had to re-read the sentence three times before realizing I'd read it right lol. (Also as a disclaimer I'm not trying to start any argument about communism so I hope nobody gets defensive about this.)
y e a h i think anon might have meant that under a dictatorship you could get tossed in jail for "dangerous political ideas," whatever your local dictator decides that might be,* not that communism means NO dictatorship.... but given I have no way to know where an anon is coming from (bc they're an anon) and given conversations I've had with western communists, I don't think everyone on tumblr..... gets that communism and social utopia are not synonymous?
idk whenever anyone online i don't know brings up communist manifestos, i feel like i have to wave my arms and yell a little to preempt having to hear bizarre, extremely ahistorical takes
*edit: something something yes i realize the US used to do this about communism in particular. that's why the ask struck me as particularly US centric LOL

I don't often watch anime but when I do I've almost always read the manga first. And as fun as the anime usually is, I don't understand people who won't read the manga, because there's always SO many neat little character details or world-buliding lore that gets missed in the anime for time purposes.

every time i've gotten into a popular series or franchise i've always been disappointed by it because like. its so hyped up and i watch it and find it mid and it appears we are not watching/playing the same thing
#reasons i wont like. get into ace attorney or fma or anything else#and by popular i mean like. ubiquitously popular. like an 'everyone at least knows of it' type#like ik enstars is popular especially in asia but in the west its a lot more niche#for whatever reason one piece is more niche ime than naruto or bleach despite arguably being bigger and literally still ongoing#and then jjk. god help me jjk is awful now#i was going to say idk if jjk is at that level but i've had easier times finding merch for that than some series here#so its certainly up there.#umu not to say its not good but i just find them being so hyped up leads to a lot of disappointment especially#since i didnt get into them at the same time as everyone else ie during formative times in my life#in middle/high school so it holds a completely different context for me being in my early 20s#anyway. idk where i was going with this. im not not into popular media/anime specifically#obviously. i run a semi popular one piece blog.#but compared to other things i am certainly less drawn to popular series#and find the uber popular ones have. declined in quality recently#what is going on in bsd even these days i should catch up. no i shouldnt. someone tell me when kouyou shows up again#the only redeeming thing in that series is my beloved kouyou you dont understand#and chuuya but mostly kouyou#but if its not just me and 20 other bloggers on this godforsaken site then i dont want it#shay speaks#again this is. just about my personal taste dont try to take this out of context so help me god

Okay I had my daily fill of bullshit from the #Anti Sasuke Fandom tags...a tag I have never ventured to till today and have found a majority of it comes from the general Naruto opinions blog and general Naruto shipping opinions blog (which I couldn't care less for)
I am starting to think this blog doesn't post "general opinions" rather than start drama and misinformed gossip within the fandom. Especially towards stans of characters, particularly Sasuke and Sakura who I interestingly mentioned in a reply to one post that claimed Sasuke stans hate Sarada. I know some that do but I didn't think anything wrong with that. Why? They're fictional characters and 2. When Sakura and Sasuke were the same age, a majority of the fandom hated them too. Hating 12 year old characters is not new and if you're going to wag the finger on one part of the fandom for doing so, which is false (more on that later), then a majority of other parts of the fandom deserves that finger wagging too.
Just because some do hate Sarada, not all do. Labeling an entire group for one some posters do, well what else can we expect from the Naruto fandom, am I right? This fandom justified genocide and complained against a group that talks about it because they're bothered by it. Bitch I will talk about real genocides and fake, the fake ones are just easier to talk about because the real, oh God the real, it breaks my heart and is hard to read but I try at least. And at least the Sasuke fandom can read a book and can compare fiction to reality. If they wanna do that, then let them. And if you're bothered, then what the hell are you doing in their blog? Go dwell on your escapism. No one is stopping. Do we complain about that on a general Naruto opinion blog to start toxic drama? No! We stay in our own turf, you stay in yours.

i really don’t get why some sasuke stans on tumblr are against team 7. do you want sasuke to be alone?? and not with the only two people who make him happy?? every time sasuke thinks of bonds he thinks of naruto and sakura. why be against it?? sasuke deserves to be happy and with people who love him. do you want him to be wandering around the world alone? with a cat? what exactly do you want from this little guy he suffered through so much
