Every time I think about how Tobirama created some of his jutsu, it makes me… well, let's just say it FUCKS me.

Okay, okay, I know a lot of people have probably talked about this and written about it, but let's think about it again. The point here is not even that in the world of "Naruto" the existence of the soul and life after death is objectively known, and most likely before Tobirama created Edo Tensei (and this, of course, explains why the characters so easily treat them as their own, and to the death of others). It’s not even that Tobirama, knowing this, decided to not care about the will of dead people and once again return them to the “impure world”, where they must fight according to his will - and for this he needed their DNA. And not even that LIVING human bodies were used as vessels (yes, there were no White Zetsu then).

But. Jutsu have been created over the years. It took Minato four years to complete the rasengan, but it’s just a ball of chakra, it’s not even a ready-made jutsu, because Minato couldn’t and didn’t have time to add elemental release to it. How long did it take Tobirama to summon souls from the afterlife? Did he immediately realize that someone else's life would be required in exchange? He probably should have known that Shinigami wouldn't allow something like that to be done for free. But even taking this into account… how many prisoners of war, criminals and some other people whom the state does not feel too sorry for did Tobirama kill? He couldn't have developed Edo Tensei just as a theory, otherwise how would it have been known that the original Edo Tensei was much weaker than Orochimaru's more advanced form?

So yes, he probably experimented for a long time. Secret from Hashirama, MOST LIKELY. Thinking about this, I imagine something like Lovecraft's "Herbert West", where the dude spent years plundering the graves and corpses of recently deceased people, injecting them with various solutions until he succeeded (of course, in the process he created several indescribable monsters that became cause of his death).

And Tobirama dealt with all this, hell, he even came up with such an idea, NOT being a maniacal psychopathic nihilist like Orochimaru… Dude is really cold-blooded.

How traumatic do you think it was for Deidara to be reanimated/reunited with Sasori?

Like he spent a good chunk of his formative years with the guy and put him on a pedestal. He wasnt there when Sasori died the first time and Deidaras a mega petty and mad boy. It was probably so hard for him to accept that Sasori actually passed away. And then got replaced in no time with Tobi!

Then boom here the guy is! And to hear him let go and pass on his own terms without witnessing it and without being able to stop it must’ve been so fucked up for the guy. Like he looked so scared.

Poor guy.

What do you think Kisame and Itachi’s reunion would be like after the akatsuki are revived with edo tensei?

I think it would be bittersweet, on both ends. I think that Itachi would be coming back with so much guilt, both over how messed up sasuke is because of Itachi’s lies and actions, and over how Itachi left Kisame alone despite knowing how much Kisame had cared for and needed him, alive. Loyalty was a huge part of Kisame’s makeup and Itachi’s death had not changed that in him; he’d be ready willing and able to follow edo-tensei’d Itachi anywhere and do anything for and with him.

Also a personal headcanon that Kisame always remained “shy” and cautious with Itachi, something that stayed throughout their entire relationship. Kisame’s self esteem was so low that he simply couldn’t fathom that someone like Itachi wanted to be with him. Therefore he was always scared about initiating things like hugs, or kisses, or really any forms of affection or intimacy.

So imagine Itachi is brought back, and Kisame sees Itachi, and instinctively holds himself back from approaching him. Maybe gives him something like an awkward half-wave. And Itachi waits all of three seconds, rushes at Kisame, and jumps into his arms. Kisame is so startled that he loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Itachi on top of him.

And Itachi kisses him.

But he kisses him like how he’d never kissed him when he was alive. This would be a kiss without caution, a kiss without having to calculate how long his damaged lungs could stand up to having his airway restricted, no worrying over whether Kisame’s touch was going to send Itachi’s already-weak heart into such a shake that he passed out.

For the first time ever, Itachi really, REALLY kisses him.

And Kisame could almost die right then and there, his happiness never having been so overwhelming and complete.

Or, you know. Something like that 🤷🏽‍♀️.
