Warnings: smut. 18+ only. oral (m), sex, maybe public if you believe enough. Otherwise, it's kinda fluffy
From me: idk I think Harry can be a little TOO self-loathing. And he is really so sweet and nice overall. I think he deserves some TRADITIONAL sugar-daddy CEO treatment.
Summary: Harry is a lot calmer now that the client fiasco is over. But he's still on edge. Fortunately, she has an idea to take the edge off.
Tumblr media
Harry was much more pleased with the direction of his company now that the biggest crisis of his career was finally in the rearview mirror. Now that her arm was healed and his clients were stable, everything was much better.
Except Harry didn’t fully accept it.
It was like there was a little worm in his brain that ate at him and whispered directly into the auditorial processing space that something, at any moment, would go wrong. The other shoe would drop and he would be back at square one.
“Baby?” She interrupted his thoughts of worthlessness and impostor syndrome. God he needed to see someone. But when was there time? “I asked about dinner, it’s Monday,” she reminded him gently. His mind reeling but he wanted to focus on her.
He wasn’t angry. For the first time in months. It felt like that for everyone around him. It created an entirely different vibe in the office. People weren’t scared during meetings. He didn’t slam his phone down when something was late.
But she noticed how withdrawn he was because she knew him.
“Are you alright?” Her voice wasn’t accusatory. It was still quiet. Like she was a little afraid she would set him off. But he hadn’t bought new electronics in months. The accounting department joked they would get to decrease the furniture budget this quarter as it closed. Harry couldn’t do anything but laugh because it was true. It was the first time he felt at ease since the mess happened.
It was awful.
“M’fine,” he smiled gently at her. It was their daily meeting. The one Harry didn’t even know they had until he saw it written on her calendar back when her cramps made her sleep through it. But he knew she didn’t believe his hand-waving denial. He wasn’t fine, she knew it.
“Okay,” she sipped her drink and eyed him suspiciously.
He was looking at the papers on his desk and every little negative number made his heart skip a beat.
This wasn’t healthy.
“Are you sure?” She asked again.
That wasn’t helping him either. How perceptive she was and knowing exactly what he was feeling. It was almost annoying that she could do it. All he wanted to do was hide his feelings from her the way he was supposed to, and she made it so difficult.
God, she was perfect.
He nodded silently, not looking up at her because if he did, she would read him like an open book. She would praise him and tell him he was perfect. He didn’t want that. It was stupid, but he needed to believe it himself. It was partially his own fault. Styles Inc. suffered very few hiccups other than getting up and running. Back when he had just graduated, and he had stuffed every penny he had into the two offices he and Niall needed to get started. It grew before his eyes. He believed he was important and doing important things. He knew he was talented and doing well.
Almost having to fire her was the worst wakeup call.
“Harry,” her voice broke his thoughts again.
“Yeah, kitten?” He hummed trying to admire the green numbers on the spreadsheet before him. They were large and lovely. The red ones amounted to next to nothing in comparison. But it didn’t matter. They were terrifying.
“Baby, I just asked you if you think I should go out for drinks with a client that keeps hitting on me so that we can get a bigger contract from him, and you said that was a good idea.”
His head snapped up. Jealousy pierced his heart and ran hot through his blood in seconds. “What client hits on you?” He scowled. They were dropping said client. Effective immediately. Not even feeling like an impostor would deter him from that kind of behavior. It wouldn’t matter if they were his biggest client either. If they were hitting on her—
“You really think a client would be stupid enough to hit on me knowing you’re my boyfriend?” She asked a slight smirk on her lips.
He ran a hand over his face. Of course they wouldn’t. Harry had a scary side, and everyone knew it. If they even tried to flirt with her Harry would probably break their neck. The little jealous monster inside of his head was more powerful than the worm that told him he wasn’t talented, and he could lose it all at a moment’s notice.
And he hated that word lately. He needed to add another reminder on his phone to remedy that immediately as well. Boyfriend. It was so childish sounding. He was a successful businessman, and he had a gorgeous girlfriend who made him feel like... well... like he deserved to own such a successful company. Fiancé. Husband. That had a nicer ring to it. He needed to fix that soon.
“Harry,” she giggled.
“What?”
“You’re staring at me,” she was blushing. Looked away as she sat in the chair across from him on the other side of the desk.
He sighed and smiled tiredly. “Course,” he really looked at her again, not just spaced out like he had been doing. The way her hair fell, the way her lip gloss coated her straw. The way her nail polish chipped—he would send her for a manicure (with Eleanor so she’d actually go) even though she preferred when Harry painted them—hence the chipping.
Harry was so captivated by her. It did seem like a crime that he hadn’t given her his full attention during their coffee break. Part of him thought she should model for offices or office furniture. It was sexist and lizard-brained of him. But she was so pretty it was the only thing he could think of in that moment. Then he considered the notion of her being a professor or a doctor—even though he knew she wasn’t qualified for it. But it didn’t matter. He suspected she could do it without training. She was too lovely. The fact that she was intelligent and beautiful and nice was unfair. He didn’t deserve something so good when he could lose the biggest reason she was in his life. “You’re so pretty, kitten.”
Her cheeks turned red again. Harry thought he would explode. “Don’t change the subject.”
“M’not,” he pouted. She did the cute little nose wrinkle that made Harry’s heart skip a beat the same way the negative numbers on spreadsheets did but this time he didn’t mind.
“Your brain has been elsewhere during this whole meeting—”
“Can y’please stop calling it a meeting, kitten?” he grumbled. It felt so wrong to call it a meeting when he was in love with her. Like he needed a corporate excuse to have her sit in his office.
“Pretenses, baby. Don’t want anyone to know I’m your second favorite.”
He grunted, running a hand over his face as the irritation sank in again because of her words. “Niall is not m’favorite.”
She smiled impishly. Her cheeks looked like little apples that Harry wanted to kiss and take bites out of. Her eyes danced with mischievousness that he thought she could only have learned from Louis.
He loved her so much.
Which was why he was so mad that he was worried. If this company suffered the thought of letting her down, of telling her that he wasn’t successful anymore. He met her only because he did well and was successful. How would she love him if that wasn’t true anymore?
“Harry, I’m going to drag you to the hospital if you don’t tell me.”
“Can we talk ‘bout it at home?”
She frowned. “Oh, it’s not work related?” She asked.
He shook his head, confused as to how she would conclude such a thing. “What do y’mean?”
“Well... if it was work-related, you would tell me now. You only tell me relationship-related things at home. Which means now I have to go back to my office and conference call Louis and Eleanor and pull Niall from his work so we can discuss where I’m going to live because you can’t take the sound of me singing in the shower anymore. What’s worse is Louis will agree and he won’t want me to live with him and Eleanor either. Then I’ll have to find my own place and it won’t have room for a porch swing and—”
He pinched the bridge of his nose. “Kitten, shut up,” he sighed. She smiled sweetly, unperturbed by the way he said it because he sounded exhausted with her, which was almost definitely her goal. He knew she liked to annoy him—even when he was already suffering internally.
“I don’t want to say it’s your fault, baby. But if you would just tell me what—”
“I don’t feel successful.”
She tilted her head at him curiously. “You don’t?”
He shook his head feeling the nerves in every inch of his skeleton. Right down to the bone. Past the bone. Probably to the atoms or even further to each proton and neutron. Telling her made it real. Telling her anything meant he had to deal with what he was feeling because she wouldn’t let him brush it away.
She was about as bad as the worm in his head.
“Okay,” she nodded. Then there was silence.
They stared at each other for a significant moment. Harry thought it could have been ten minutes, but it might have only been ten seconds. “You’re not going t’say anything?” He asked.
She shrugged. “I could,” she smiled gently. Almost pitifully. It made Harry feel the slightest bit worse. But then she made it better. Of course she did. She made everything seem so... simple. In the best way. A point of view he hadn’t considered. “I could ask you why. Or tell you how it’s not true—all of which I do believe. But I actually think it’s kind of more serious than that. I think you went through a really difficult thing. It piled and piled and you dealt with it. More than anyone here. Because you care and love this place with everything in you,” she listed. “I think you’ll need to talk to someone more qualified than me to fully deal with it. But I will list every reason why you’re completely, totally, and simply wrong another time. When you’re not so sad looking and it won’t fall on deaf ears,” she assured him with a pointed expression that he had fallen in love with so many times over it was uncanny.
Had he mentioned he loved her so much?
“Oh,” he murmured.
She stood up, moved around his desk and leaned against the edge in front of him. Her eyes didn’t move from his and she brought a hand to his face, traced the curve of his jaw, the soft pink lips she loved so much. “Why are you worried you’re not successful?” She asked.
She really knew where to hit him where it hurt. “Y’won’t love me...if m’not successful.”
“Harry,” she cooed. “Baby—”
“I know,” he turned into her hand and kissed the center of her palm. “But I... I only met y’because m’successful. If m’not... then...”
“You know I don’t love you because you have money, right? We’ve been over this.”
“I know,” he nodded. “Really, I do. But s’like...there’s something in m’brain, kitten. I can’t turn it off and m’exhausted. After all that... I mean... y’saw. It was reallybad. Like really bad. M’still kind of worried and—what are you doing?”
“Turning your brain off,” she smiled, full of mischief once more as she slunk down to her knees. She wiggled into the space of his desk where he normally pushed his chair in. “Surely you’ve thought about this?” She asked, her hand sliding up his thigh.
Harry was suddenly illiterate. And mute. What was she talking about? Were they talking about something? The only thing he could hear was his uneven breath and the clinking sound of his belt and zipper. “Oh,” he groaned as her lips mouthed at the outline of his dick against his briefs.
“Cause I’ve thought about it. A lot.”
“You have?” He murmured dumbly.
She nodded, looking up at him from between his legs, crammed under his desk. It was a fantasy he hadn’t even imagined before thirty seconds prior and there she was: making it come true. Her lashes seemed so long, and her hand was massaging him through his underwear. His heart was pounding. All thoughts of negative numbers were gone.
She deserved a raise.
Her fingers hooked around his underwear, and she tugged on them, pulling him free. He didn’t even realize he was straining against the fabric. Within seconds her lips enveloped around him, and she sucked quickly. Hard. Everything was warm and wet instantly.
Harry had done this before with the companions he had found on the very website he found her, but he wished he never had because this was her. She was so perfect. She was everything he wanted. She was beneath his desk making him feel important and it was so ridiculous for him to feel that way but it worked. It was working.
Her mouth was meant to be around him. At least that was the way it felt. It never felt like this. She didn’t even care about herself. Which was fine because Harry would return whatever she gave him now plus interest. For the first time in a year, he felt utterly relaxed. Her head bobbing up and down the length of him. He put a hand on the back of her head, and she moaned softly sending a vibration through him and up to his chest. His cheeks felt hot. Not that he was embarrassed. But it was so much rapid blood flow. Everywhere. He was going to lose his mind.
There was a knock on the door.
She froze but didn’t remove her mouth from him. Harry grumbled a curse under his breath, carefully tucked himself further the edge of his desk without bumping her too much or crushing her. “Yeah?” He called tentatively.
Her lips focused on the tip of him making him struggle to maintain his composure.
“She’s not here?” Niall frowned from the doorway.
Harry shook his head staring at the screen trying not to let his best friend know that his girlfriend and Niall’s very favorite coworker was crammed beneath his desk and sucking him for all he was worth. Even though Niall was right there. “Ran an errand,” her tongue slid down the underside of him silently. He cleared his throat, shifted. Hoping she wouldn’t torture him in front of his best friend. When did she get so brave?
Oh. Traditional. That’s what that meant. Harry thought to himself.
“When she gets back can you ask her where the file from yesterday’s meeting is? I don’t want to mess with her organizational system,” she dug her nails into his thigh not very hard but so her presence was known. As if the thought of Niall messing with her system really was the worst thing he could do in that moment.
“Yeah, I wouldn’t,” Harry chuckled. But the movement made him shift in her mouth which nearly sent him cross-eyed. He cleared his throat again.
“You okay? She’s been worried about you.”
“M’fine,” he rolled his eyes.
She silently sucked harder as if to prove a point. Moved him further down her throat. Harry took a deep breath to maintain any semblance of control he had left over the situation. Which was very little.
“I like that she worries about you.”
“It’s unnecessary,” Harry muttered. To both of them.
“When are you going to marry her?” Niall asked.
That paused her. She released him, peered up through those sinful lashes and smiled more mischievously than he had ever seen. Harry shifted. Silently and blindly lining himself up with her mouth again to keep her from saying I knew it or just generally giving herself away in front of Niall. She obligingly took his length down her throat again and it was a miracle she didn’t make a sound with the amount of spit lodged in her mouth. “Soon,” he assured Niall.
“She left her cell in the office,” he said. “Hopefully she’s with the driver or something.”
“Yeah, I called for him,” he wanted Niall out. “What time are we teeing off tomorrow?” He asked the last bout of normalcy he had left in him. Her lips were dragging so slowly over him it felt nearly painful. The moment Niall left he was going to come.
“Nine fifteen.”
He nodded. “Alright, I’ll be by later for the new account model for—” He coughed as her fingers danced along the inside of his thighs, reaching for the space of his cock that didn’t fit in her mouth as well as underneath— “Excuse me,” he covered his mouth over the fake cough before dropping his hand to his lap—her head—and pushed ever so slightly toward the back of her throat. Fortunately, his phone rang. Niall nodded waving him off; allowing him to tend to his phone call—that he was not going to answer.
“I got it,” he assured him and closed the door.
Harry yanked from her mouth, shoved from the desk, barely pulling his pants up at all. He hurried across his office to twist the lock on his door. Once turned around, she was already there, knelt before him again and sucking him into her warm mouth again. Sucking hard. It was probably loud. Wet. Anyone that happened to be by his door at that moment would know what was happening on the other side. Maybe they would make a rumor. Maybe they would assume it was her—neither of which Harry wanted. “Not here, kitten,” he groaned quietly and lifted her begrudgingly from her knees. He pulled her toward the bathroom. He briefly thought of the first time he was in there with her, knelt himself, to take her shoe off and Louis and Eleanor assumed he was prepared to do something he loved doing to her and strongly considered doing it again. Just as he lifted her bum onto the counter she stopped him.
“Nope,” she slid down again. Knelt once more. “Said it was turning your brain off,” she reminded him. Her lips around his dick once again. Now, with an office separating them from the rest of the company, she openly slurped. Made obscene noises that would satisfy him just fine on business trips where he didn’t get to take her with him and leave him with nothing but fantasies before falling asleep in a lonely hotel room. He slammed the bathroom door shut just for further privacy.
He groaned lowly, meeting the bob of her head as gently as he could so as not to cause her to struggle but enjoying the warmth of her mouth and throat. Her lips looked so sexy around him he wasn’t going to last much longer at all. “Love,” he tilted his head back. “Y’need to—”
“Shh,” she pulled back, pressing the most chaste of kisses along his length which was an oxymoron. “Just worry about you,” she hummed. “Please?”
Harry groaned his hands gathering her hair at the back of her head as she slipped her mouth down as much of him as she could take and it felt so good it made him
“Aw fuck, kitten, s’good,” he groaned and held her in place as he released in her mouth. His breath was ragged, his hips stuttering slightly. She continued sucking even though it was sensitive. Even though it was more than he deserved.
“Do you really think I would stop loving you because you didn’t have money?” She asked, fluttering her lashes. Voice the slightest bit hoarser.
He lifted her from her knees, putting her on the counter again and shoved her dress up to her hips. Thank God she wore a dress. “This underwear is ripped,” he grumbled.
She frowned. “It is? It’s my favorite I didn’t notice a rip when I put them on this mor—”
But she didn’t realize he was predicting the future. He pulled on the nylon cotton blend with so much force her already hoarse voice died in her throat. He groaned, tossing them on the floor. He lined himself up with her entrance and brought her bum to the edge so the sharp corner dug into her flesh. It would leave a bruise and the only thought that was left in her head was that Harry would kiss it and make it better later.
His length slid inside her so effortlessly. She should have been embarrassed how turned on she was sucking him off—especially when Niall got to the office but she couldn’t help it. Now the length that had felt so good in her throat was making her core ache. He thrusted into her quickly. Hardly letting her breathe or realize what was happening, but it felt so good. She was moaning into the curve of shoulder. Clinging to him. “Baby, I—”
“S’good kitten. S’good. I love you so fucking much,” his hips were relentless. All thought escaping her mind. A fire could have broken out in the shower and she wouldn’t have moved—couldn’t have moved.
“Oh wow,” she sighed as Harry pulled her closer to him—her legs wound around his waist. Her butt barely on the counter. Her eyes fluttered with each thrust. “Oh, oh my God,” she moaned. “You’re—”
“Gonna come on m’cock, kitten,” it was a question. Or a command. She didn’t know. It was both. Neither. Part of her wondered if he even said anything.
But she did. She did come on his cock. Hard. She fluttered around him for what felt like minutes. Hours. Centuries. Color ceased to have meaning. There was no sound. That was heaven. She was sure. A blasphemous thought that she didn’t even have the strength to laugh about because she was deliriously good.
Her voice was hoarser than only moments before. Her face tucked into his shoulder and her breath shaky as he pushed her further back toward the mirror at the end of the counter behind the sink. Further from him. Her cheeks were flushed, and she could only imagine what he had done to her hair. But his pupils were massive. His lips pinker than ever. His chest heaved.
Clearing her throat, she gently tucked him back into his pants. Then tucked in his shirt too. With the same delicateness as she did with his cock. It was intoxicating. Made him want to go another thousand rounds with her. “So, in conclusion,” she whispered. “I will love you whether you have a kajillion dollars or one dollar,” she looked up at him, cheeks burning.
“That was very sexy, kitten,” his eyelids practically fluttered.
“I...” she cleared her throat. “I surprised myself, actually.”
“We should do this more often,” he pulled her skirt down and brought her closer to the edge of the counter again. She hissed at the contact against the bruise that was definitely forming. He frowned. “Oh, love m’sorry,” he cupped her face and gazed at her. “Was I too rough? I shouldn’t have—”
“Harry, if I didn’t fear for the stability of my leg muscles I would probably bend over your desk for you.” He swore under his breath. “You did bruise my butt though.”
“No good deed,” he mumbled and lifted her gently from the counter. His hand cupping her backside and gently rubbing each cheek as if it were normal. But it felt normal.
She nuzzled into his chest and sighed contentedly. “Niall’s going to see right through me,” she murmured.
“I’ll fire him again if he makes y’uncomfortable.”
She snorted and laughed, tilting her head up to look at him. “You are my favorite person Harry Styles. I love you so much. Even if you ruined my favorite pair of underwear.”
He smiled as mischievously as she had earlier in the day. “I’ll buy you more...a hundred pairs of them. Then I’ll ruin them all again,” he promised, then pressed his mouth firmly against hers. A gentle, soft kiss in comparison to all they did in the span of half an hour. “I love you too.”
She grinned. “Say it again.”
He shook his head at her, kissed her forehead, effectively turning her to mush, which was probably his plan so she couldn’t deny his next request. “Stop calling our coffee break a meeting.”
But her senses were returning. The ones that weren’t primal and horny about how massive Harry’s dick was in her mouth. She was going to say something funny; he could see it in the glint in her eye. “Well, I can’t put ‘sex’ on your calendar now can I?”

Girl Talk
Part Two of my Imagines with Angel Dust.
“So Alastor, he’s like all . . .” Angel Dust made strange gestures with his hands above his head, his thumbs pressed to his hair and fingers splayed out, and you were fairly certain he was trying to mimic antlers growing. “. . . murder-y and shit right? Even if he’s at the hotel, you can’t expect us to believe he’s stopped doing all that.”
It was late at night and you and Angel were at the bar, keeping Husk company, and nursing a couple of cocktails.
Alastor had disappeared hours ago, which wasn’t unusual, but it was getting late. You weren’t letting yourself be worried just yet, he was the Radio Demon after all, and could certainly take care of himself. But you couldn’t help being a little on edge. Alastor always came home but still. He could give you an idea of where he had gone off to and what he was doing when he took off like this.
“Why, are you going to tattle to Charlie if I say he is?” you said, a little too defensively.
“Hey, I ain’t no rat,” Angel said, also defensive. “I’m just trying to figure the guy out.”
“He’s still the Radio Demon,” you respond vaguely.
“Oh well that tells me everything.” Angel rolled his eyes.
Husk chuckled, wiping a glass dry.
“He’s a serial killer and a cannibal. The day that guy stops doing all that is the day I’ll stop drinking and gambling.”
You scowl over the rim of your cocktail.
“You make him sound like a monster when you say it like that.”
Husk raised an eyebrow at you.
“Excuse me if I ain’t your boytoy’s number one fan. ‘Sides, not like anything I said wasn’t true.”
“Hey, he’s not out their killing all willy nilly, right?” Angel offered. “I mean, I pissed him off the other day and he let me go. Val woulda done way worse. So that means he’s got a type, I’m assuming? Like a uh . . . a demographic . . . of people he kills. If you ain’t that, he’ll still be creepy and fucking weird, but you’re probably safe.”
“Probably,” you smirk.
“Whatever,” Husk said with a grumble, and threw his towel over his shoulder, turning his back on the two of you.
“So, about those tentacles-“
“No,” you snapped, cutting off Angel’s sentence before it could be finished.
“Oh come on! You can’t leave me hanging like that!”
You just rolled your eyes and sighed, taking another sip of your drink.
“Oh . . . hanging, now there’s a thought,” Angel pressed on. “So suspensory play, huh? I bet those are really fun for that. Just how talented is the guy with those things? Because I bet with some practice, you could even use them for some interesting kind of Shibari. Or is he unimaginative and just shoves them right up your-“
“Angel, seriously, did you not learn your lesson last time?”
“Oh I learned my lesson all right. I learned how hot it is. So c’mon, admit it,” he teased, leaning closer to you, “you guys are into bondage.”
You laughed, unable to hide the sly smile on your face, but said nothing.
“I guess it makes sense,” Angel continued, “the guy does own souls. He’s probably gotta have that type of control in the bedroom.”
“You just go ahead and let your imagination run wild, my friend,” you said with a giggle.
“Baby, my imagination can run marathons,” Angel bragged. Then suddenly, he turned serious and looked over at you. “Wait, does he own your soul?”
Husk turned around and both men were now looking at you. Knowing both of their predicaments, you almost felt bad for your answer.
“No,” you said quietly.
“NO?!” Angel yelled, slapping his hand down on the bar counter.
‘No,” you repeated.
“But . . . but, that’s what he does. I mean, he even owns Niffty’s soul. So why are you with him-“
“Angel,” you interrupted, putting your hand on his arm. “I’m with him because I love him. Because I choose to be.” You said your words firmly, making sure your point was crystal clear. “And anyway, Alastor’s not the type to sleep with a soul he owns. It’s hard to explain his twisted moral code but he would think that was rude . . . or abusive . . . or just trashy. No offense.”
You knew about Angel’s forced and strained deal with Valentino and felt awkward, exposing the stark differences between your relationship and theirs.
“If I was making him sound like a monster, you’re making him sound like a fucking angel,” Husk said.
“Fair,” you agreed. “So, he’s complicated. But so am I.”
“So you really are into monster fucking. Got it,” Angel said, sounding deadly serious but when you looked at him, you saw the hint of a smile beginning to spread across his face.
“Wellllll,” you said, drawing out the word and giving Angel a side eye, “sometimes he has to blow off some steam. And those antlers are great for holding onto for balance.”
Angel choked on the drink he was taking a sip from.
“Now we’re talking,” Angel replied, eagerly leaning towards you again.
You held up a finger, stopping Angel from invading your space anymore. “That’s more than enough information for now.”
“Let me get this straight. He’s got the tentacles, he’s got the antlers,” Angel listed, holding up a finger for each item on his list. He held up a third finger, looking at you and tilting his head expectantly. “Say, you ever have a threesome with his shadow?”
You felt your face heating up, desperately trying to keep your composure and think of a witty response that wouldn’t give anything more away than your expression was, when thankfully you were saved by the front doors of the hotel slamming open.
Alastor walked in, his usual confident walk more of an exhausted shuffle, and he was covered head to toe in blood and the occasional clump or string of viscera.
“Holy shit buddy,” Angel exclaimed, “looks like you bit off more than you can chew.”
“I’m fine,” Alastor huffed and waved his hand dismissively. “Splendid, really. Just need some cleaning up.”
“Do you need any help?” you asked, sounding more flirty than concerned.
“Down girl,” Alastor replied and tapped you on the head with his microphone as he strode past you. “I’ll see you all in the morning.”
He evaporated into shadow as he reached the staircase.
“If he could just do that, then why’d he have to make a show of walking through the front doors?” Angel complained, “He left bloody footprints all over the lobby!
“That’s Al’ for you,” Husk said, “Always gotta be dramatic.”
You sat in silence, ignoring the two men’s banter and you gripped the glass of your cocktail, staring at it as if it had your entire focus.
A few moments went by where no one said anything and the lull in conversation became awkward.
“You don’t have to stay down here, you know,” Angel offered. “I can tell you want to go sexually attack him.”
You nodded. “I need to go lick every inch of that man clean,” you said and headed upstairs.

Satoru likes to tease people. For his own entertainment and to try to build friendships with them. It also didn’t hurt if, in the end, his actions made their lives a little better and brought some happiness to them. A small laugh in a harsh world like this could mean a lot, the right push could change someone’s entire outlook.
So, he likes to play the fool, try to get people to let their guard down so he could wiggle in through an unknown crack and maybe make their world a little easier to breathe in and it wouldn't be a lie to say his own as well.
This holds doubly true for one precious student in particular.
“You seem excited. Ready for the big exchange event?”
Megumi stops his stretching, rotates his neck a few times to get out the last of the cricks, before turning to face him. The training grounds are empty tonight, save for the two them, and Satoru has never seen Megumi this interested in training.
“Not particularly.”
He says that but the Megumi that Satoru knows would never be this determined. Megumi may not have realized it but Satoru has been watching him train ever since he came back to the school. He hasn’t had much time to watch over the other students since training Itadori, but he knows that they’ve been making strides. Megumi included.
“I heard about what happened with Aoi,” Satoru says, poking around in the younger boy’s wounds to see if he can find the reason for this sudden burst of passion. “I thought you’d be interested in fighting him.”
“I’m over it.”
“Really?” Satoru says with a laugh. He has no reason not to believe Megumi, but he still has the suspicion it might be a little deeper than that. “Something has to be on your mind. You’re not normally this energetic.”
He racks his mind, trying to find the last time he remembers the kid having any sort of pep to his step so to speak. He’s always been a bit…restrained except when—
“Oh.”
Gojo smiles.
“I remember now.” Satoru chuckles lowly and dares to pat the boy on the shoulder. It’s a little harder than he was aiming for and Megumi jerks forward with a scowl. “It’s because your girlfriend is coming. Her clan enrolled her into Kyoto, right?”
If there is one thing about Megumi, it’s that he doesn’t change one bit with age. That glare is still just as scary as it was when he was five.
“She isn’t my girlfriend,” Megumi corrects, his eyes downcast. “We’re…friends.”
“Still!?” Satoru really, really doesn’t mean to sound insensitive but he is honestly surprised. Megumi always treated you politely and with more regard than others. Granted that bar was so low that people in hell could trip on it but to Satoru it was noticeable that Megumi held some type of soft spot for you. Satoru clears his throat to try to regain his composure and hopefully stop Megumi from stabbing him with his eyes. “Ya’know events like these provide the perfect opportunity to impress someone; show them what you’re made of.”
Satoru means it. He genuinely wants to help, and he doesn’t think you’d be adverse to giving Megumi a chance if Megumi would only give himself the chance first.
“Good thing I’m not trying to impress anyone.”
“Don’t be that way,” he says, extending his arms out in an effort to offer his time to his little student. “How about you train with me one more time before the event?”
“No thanks,” he disagrees immediately, and Satoru deflates over the fact that Megumi didn’t even stop to think about it before grabbing his pack and walking away.
Megumi isn’t willing to take that step yet, he guesses.

The morning of the Goodwill Event comes faster than most. The teams set off while Satoru and the other teachers find a cozy room to set up in and watch the festivities. Everything seems to be going well so far with the teams fighting and breaking off in different directions.
It isn’t long after when Satoru picks out one student from Kyoto different from the others. Satoru could tell that the other students were aiming to pick each other off one by one, and he had his ideas on why that was the case. However, the crow focused on you noticed you weaving through the forest, ignoring the other students in the vicinity, as you made your way to a very specific destination based on your speed and concise path.
That is until you’re stopped by one of the curses released into the area.
“Utahime, it looks like your little busy bee is engaged in battle with a curse.”
The other teacher doesn’t turn her direction, focusing on another screen.
“Fushiguro is on a direct path towards the fight as well.”
Satoru raises his eyebrows, his blindfold widening with the strain. Sure enough, the two of you collide on both screens, and it isn’t but a matter of seconds to take out the curse together. It isn’t unusual for the two schools to fight together; after all, the rules did state that exorcising curses was the top priority. Next, would be—
“Now, what will they do.” Satoru tilts his head to the side, watching Utahime as she brings a hand to her mouth and mutters behind it. “Normally, I’d have no doubts that she can beat him. However, given the terrain, she’s at a disadvantage.”
Satoru hums to himself, wondering the exact same thing. The two of you should be pretty evenly matched in this situation; but as he watches the screen, he notices that neither of you look interested in fighting.
In fact, Megumi is touching you, hand crossing over your face and moving your head around. Satoru can barely make out the sight of blood on your face with the screen this zoomed out but it doesn’t matter as Megumi wipes it off. There’s only a small moment where Megumi lets his forehead press against yours as he cups your cheeks.
Gojo raises his blindfold over one of his eyes, just to make sure he’s seeing this correctly. Surely, he is when Megumi briefly kisses you. He can barely contain his laughter. He knew it! There was no way you two weren’t dating!
“Stop talking to yourself, 'hime, and look.”
Utahime looks back up at the screen, her face scrunching. “Are they?”
“I knew it,” Gojo repeats his thoughts. This time he does laugh as he kicks up his feet and throws his hands behind his head.
“What are they saying?”
“I never took you for a voyeur.”
“Will you shut up!” she says before glaring back at the screen. Her eyes search out for Megumi, who has already headed out of this broadcast area to the other. “Where is he going?”
“Looks like he’s headed straight to Kamo. I can’t imagine him smooth-talking the information out of her but there it is. My students really do take after me. I’m so proud.”
“You’re insufferable,” Utahime replies, scoffs, then returns to watching the battles unfold.
Tumblr media
After the events of the Goodwill Event and the chaos of that Special Grade intruding on the event, Satoru takes the time to check on all the students injured during the fight. He makes his last stop Megumi, who had spent the longest time getting the spores taken out of his stomach before being patched up by Ieiri.
With his hand on the door handle, Satoru stops outside the door to his room. He can sense two people’s energies from behind the wall, one from Megumi and the other from…oh…looks like someone came to comfort Megumi before he could get the chance.
The words from behind the door are low.
How are you feeling? Does it hurt?
Satoru laughs to himself when Megumi obviously tells you to stop mothering him and that you’re worrying too much. He doesn’t know why the little guy still has such a hard time letting someone care about him, but it comforts him to know that you’re not willing to accept it as he hears a harsh “stop being stubborn and let me see.”
He’s so caught up in his thoughts that he doesn’t realize when he presses on the door too hard. The door squeaks inward causing him to tumble in a little clumsily on his tall limbs and for you two to pop up like spooked deer.
“Sorry to interrupt,” he dismisses clumsily – caught red handed. “I was coming to check on my favorite student, but it looks like his girlfriend is already taking good care of him.”
It’s adorable how your eyes widen and your mouth gapes as you sputter out an incoherent excuse. “No, I was just uh—” your fluster only increases when you finally realize you’re still holding the edge of his shirt in your hand while his hand is gripped on your wrist obviously midway in stopping you. You aggressively push his shirt back to him, making him hiss as you tap his stomach. “This is a misunderstanding, sensei.”
“It’s alright,” Satoru says, raising his palms and flattening them to let you know it’s fine to calm down. “I already know. No need to pretend.”
 “How do you—”
“Funny thing about the event,” he starts, taking one long step in the room to the nearest chair. He spins the chair around, sitting in it backwards with his legs hugging the chair and his chin rested on the curve of the back. “Teachers keep a close eye on the students, accessing their battle prowess and team strategies. It just so happens that to do that we need visuals. Mei Mei’s crows…recording devices…cameras…yeah I don’t think there’s many blind spots to miss any battles or when a pair of students want some alone time together.”
Backing away from Megumi, you place your hands in your hands and bow your head towards him. “Sensei, we didn’t mean to do anything against conduct. I just…wanted to help Megumi and the vesse—Itadori.”
“I’m not lecturing you, so there’s no need to be so formal,” Satoru tells you, not that he minds having someone who gives him a little respect around him. “I want to give you my blessing.”
Megumi is the first to object, his nose stiff and scrunched as he bares his teeth at Satoru, mostly in surprise. “No one needs your blessing, and you’re not my parent.”
“Ouch. So touchy,” Satoru remarks, his smile stretching as he glances back over to you. It’s cute how he gets so worked up over something so small, well, he guesses young love isn’t so small, and he can’t help the little urge he has to tease him. “He’s so grouchy. Honestly, you’re way too good for him.”
Megumi hisses. “Get. Out.”
“No, it’s okay,” you say with a smile, stand, and gently press your hand to Megumi’s shoulder. “I should get going. I’ll come check on you later, Megumi.”
You make a beeline to the door, pausing only to give a short bow.
“Good night, sensei.”
“Good night,” Satoru waves casually, as if he didn’t know that bow just now was to hide your flustered face as you scurry out the room. “She ran off…Cute.” Despite your actions being endearing, the same couldn’t be said for the side-eye he was receiving from the dark-haired boy. “Don’t look at me that way. How come you didn’t want to tell me?”
“Because you’d act exactly like that,” being the answer.
“Okay, okay. You’re not completely wrong,” he agrees. He willingly fell into Megumi’s irritation, riding the waves of it to hopefully end up on a small island where forgiveness was waiting.
Megumi didn’t give him that.
“Didn’t I tell you to get out already? I’m recovering.”
Satoru thinks if Megumi has the energy to keep up his attitude then that must mean he’s doing well, which is good given the nature of his wounds from earlier. Satisfied, Satoru decides to give his charge some peace.
“Fine. Fine. We’ll talk about you lying to your teacher later.”
He doesn’t give any mind to the growl Megumi gives him or when the boy ignores his wave by adjusting his gaze to the flowers on the nightstand.
Satoru would lie to say that attitude doesn’t hurt sometimes, but that’s okay. Even if Megumi was distant about it, even if he still didn’t want to give in and accept the fact that Satoru very much cares about him, you care about him as do his other classmates.
If Megumi could remember to accept that and to allow the rest of you to hold onto him and learn to hold onto you in return, then he’d be alright.
So, Satoru stops at the door, because he just has to make sure that Megumi doesn’t make the same mistakes that he did. “Do you know what you’re doing?” Satoru sighs when he doesn’t receive a response. “You should treat her well. Don’t do anything you’ll regret.”
“I know,” he reassures him bluntly.
“You can always ask me for anything,” he offers, without the bravado and grandeur, and he lays himself out, extends an invisible hand for Megumi to reach towards, just as he always has whether the boy wanted it or not.
And Megumi falters, if only for a brief second, he lets his eyes meet Satoru’s a bit more softly, with less caution, and his voice has lost all the bite that was there moments ago.
“…I know.”
Megumi forces his eyes back down and refuses to look at him. It reminds him of the kid who let his guard down enough to fall asleep next to him for the first time many years ago.
“Good talk then!” he remarks with a thumbs up and a laugh. Otherwise, he might not keep his composure that the warm feeling coating his being makes. “Make sure to get some sleep. We want you well rested for tomorrow’s events.”
Satoru doesn’t expect a good night as he grabs the door but he doesn’t expect Megumi to call out to him either.
"Hey."
It’s with a tinge to his ears that Megumi finally looks at him again.
“...Thanks.”

regency era!ghost x reader au (part 7)
One evening, as you and Simon glided across the dance floor, lost in each other’s eyes, you couldn’t help but notice the envious glances and hushed whispers that followed in your wake.
“How on earth did those two end up together?”  “By the look of it, the Duke should be proposing any day now.” “I think I deserve to be Duchess more than she does.”
“You know,” you say slowly as you twirl gracefully, “you’re making quite the spectacle of yourself, Simon. People are starting to talk.”
He chuckles, his grip tightening around your waist. “Let them talk.”
He has to bite his tongue to restrain himself from continuing with, I don’t care what anyone else thinks. I’m yours, you’re mine, and I’m not about to let anyone forget it.
You smile, feeling a rush of affection and amusement. “You really don’t care, do you?” you ask, a teasing lilt in your voice.
He shakes his head, a serious expression on his face. “Not in the slightest. As long as I have you, nothing else matters.”
You laugh softly, leaning into him. “You’re incorrigible, Simon.”
God, the way you make his name sound so pretty. He might faint.
After the dance, Simon pulls you away from the crowd and onto a balcony, the soft hum of the party fading into the background. With the way his hands feel on you, you can’t seem to care that you’re unsupervised and alone with a man.
The cool night air is a welcome respite from the warmth of the ballroom. You shiver slightly, hugging yourself to keep warm. Immediately, Simon shrugs off his coat and drapes it over your shoulders to ward off the chill.
“Thank you,” you murmur, grateful for his thoughtfulness.
He nods, his eyes lingering on your face. He loves the way your makeup highlights your features, the way you style your hair. He loves the way you stand up for yourself, the way you speak your mind without a care in the world. He loves the way you look so small compared to him, the way your dress accentuates your frame perfectly. He loves how passionate you are about the things you love, the way you make him feel. And—
"You know," he begins, his voice low and intimate, "there was a time when I thought I would never be capable of feeling this way about anyone, let alone you."
You raise an eyebrow, a playful smirk tugging at your lips. "Oh? And what way might that be, Simon?”
He smiles, a genuine, tender expression that warms you to your very core. "In love," he admits softly. "Completely and utterly in love."
For a moment, you're stunned into silence, your heart pounding in your chest. The sincerity in his eyes, the vulnerability in his voice—it's everything you had hoped for, yet never dared to believe.
"You— you love me?" you ask, your voice barely more than a whisper.
He nods solemnly, taking your hand in his.
"With all my heart, every fiber of my being,” he replies, stroking your cheek with his thumb. "I know I've hurt you in the past, and I can never truly erase those mistakes. But I promise you, I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you, if you'll let me."
Tears prick at your eyes, and you blink them away, squeezing his hand tightly. "Oh, Simon," you breathe, "I never thought I'd hear you say those words. But now that I have, I love you too. Despite everything, I love you."
A radiant smile you’ve never seen from Simon spreads across his face, and he leans closer, his eyes searching yours for any hint of hesitation. Finding none, he whispers lowly, "May I kiss you?"
Your breath catches, heart racing at the proximity of his face to yours. You can see every lineament, every tiny wrinkle, every light freckle that dots his face. You notice the details of his scars, the way his nose is slightly crooked. He squeezes your hand, bringing you back.
“You... you mustn’t,” you stammer, your voice barely a whisper. “It’s highly improper.”
Who are you kidding? You want this as much as he wants it.
Simon doesn’t immediately release your hand. Instead, he turns it over and places a soft kiss on the inside of your covered wrist.
“You might cause a scandal,” you say weakly, your resolve thinning with each passing second.
Simon chuckles, low and quiet. “A scandal, you say? Perhaps it’s time I gave the ton something truly scandalous to talk about.”
You swallow thickly, heat rushing up your neck. “And what, pray tell, do you have in mind?”
He leans in closer, his lips brushing against your ear as he whispers, “Marry me.”
The world seems to stop as his words sink in. You pull back slightly to look into his eyes, searching for any hint of jest, but all you find is sincerity and love.
“Simon,” you breathe, your heart pounding. “Are you serious?”
“As serious as I’ve ever been,” he replies, his gaze unwavering. “I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life proving it to you every single day. So, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”
A whirlwind of emotions sweeps through you—joy, love, and a hint of disbelief. You’ve always known that your relationship with Simon was special, but to hear him propose, to see the depth of his feelings laid bare, is almost overwhelming.
“Yes,” you say, your voice filled with emotion. “Yes, I will marry you.”
The words have barely left your lips before Simon's expression transforms, an unrestrained joy lighting up his face. Without a moment's hesitation, he pulls you into a tight embrace, his warmth enveloping you entirely.
“May I kiss you?”
You finally nod slightly, your eyes fluttering closed as anticipation builds. Simon cups your face gently with both of his rough, calloused hands, his touch hot and reassuring. He hesitates for just a heartbeat, savoring the moment, before he closes the distance between you. His lips brush against yours, tentative at first, then more assured as he feels you respond.
The kiss is tender at first, tentative, as if he's savoring every moment. You can feel the depth of his feelings in the way he kisses you, the way his hands cradle your face as if you are something precious and irreplaceable. It’s filled with the promise of all the unspoken words and emotions that have been building between you. It’s a kiss that feels like redemption, second chances, and the beginning of a future that you both long for.
Your arms wrap around his neck, pulling him closer as you deepen the kiss. He groans ever so quietly as you pull at him. You can feel his heart beating against your chest, a quickened rhythm that mirrors your own. Time seems to stand still as you lose yourself in the sensation, every worry and doubt melting away.
When you finally pull back, both of you breathless and slightly dazed, Simon rests his forehead against yours, his eyes still closed. "I've dreamed of this moment," he murmurs, his voice thick with emotion. “For so long.”
You smile, your fingers gently tracing the line of his jaw.
"You're mine," he murmurs softly, his voice filled with wonder and certainty. "And I'm yours."
"Always," you reply, your heart swelling with happiness.
As you stand there together, wrapped in each other’s arms, you know that whatever the future holds, you’ll face it together. And that is more than enough.

I Dare You
Pairing: Bestfriend!Rafe x fem!reader
Summary: A game of truth or dare shouldn't be an issue right? Definitely not when it's with you hot best friend. It's all fun and games right?
Warnings: 18+, smut, unprotected sex (wrap it up), p in v, cockwarming, cream pie, slight chocking and slapping, teasing, let me know if I miss any
Wc: 3.2K
“Let’s play a game or something?” Rafe suggests next to you. You’ve been hanging out for the past few hours. It’s kinda a tradition at this point. Every week the two of you will hang out at either Tanny Hill or your house. The two of you would spend the time watching movies and binge eating pizza or whatever food you decide.
Tonight was the same thing. You had ordered pizza and wings before Rafe got to your house. Giving him the perfect timed entrance with the food since he ran into the delivery boy. That was at least four hours ago and the food is long gone. The movies you watched are just rolled credits.
“I think I have Monopoly in the closet. We also have the switch that we can play on.” You rack your brain trying to think of what games that you have. “OOO! We can play just dance.” Rafe groans at the thought of the game. All throughout middle school you were obsessed.
Everyday you would go home from school, do your homework and play for hours. It was a great way of letting out energy while also giving you a workout. Your love for the game was then forced onto Rafe. You made him go home with you one day after school and play. Rafe has always been athletic, even as a child he loved sports. But that game took something out of him.
Every move was always red, never getting the motion correctly. Don’t get him started on the burn he would feel the day after. All the jumping around and the squating tore his muscles til they were strands. He hated that damn game but for some reason he would go back to your house the following day to do it over again. Now even thinking about the game hurts him.
“I would rather get back together with Christine then play that game.” He’s being over dramatic. The game isn’t even that bad. To say he would rather get back with the ex that stole from him, tried to sleep with his dad, and reported him to the cops is crazy. The stare you are giving him tells him you aren’t convinced. “Okay I wouldn’t but seriously I am not playing that death game.” Typical Rafe, drama queen. “Fine then what do you want to play? We can just put on another movie if you’re that bored.”
You took the bait without even thinking too much about it. “Why don’t we play truth or dare?” He suggests. His eyes are staring at the phone in his hands but he keeps an eye on you. Watching the perplexed look you give him. “Truth or dare? What are we twelve?” Teasing him will never get old. He just has a habit of saying the dumbest or weirdest things when he’s comfortable around people. Teasing him is a part of the friendship.
Rafe throws his phone on your bed as he moves around to look at you better. “Weren’t you watching that dumb kids tv show the other day? Gluey or something.” “Bluey.” You correct him. “That doesn’t matter. It’s good for your brain to help relax, you clearly need it.” Your foot nudges his thigh as you poke fun at him. He catches it and yanks you closer to him, your legs resting on his lap now.
You get a little more comfortable, fluffing the pillow behind you as you lay back. “It does matter. You watch something made for toddlers but you can’t play truth or dare. Come on indulge me.” He whines, his hand squeezing your calf. The feeling of his hands on you is not something new. You are one of the only people that he is comfortable enough to physically touch. The only thing is that sometimes the touch lingers, filling you with a fluttering feeling.
Clearing your throat to distract from your emotions, you answer. “Fine. Truth or dare?”
“Dare.” You giggle as you think of something. “I dare you to try on one of my dresses.” His face drops and your giggles become full laughs. “Fuck you. I’m not doing that shit, think of something else.” His nails graze along your skin, reaching your knee then going down. “Nope, gotta follow the rules.” You know he would never put on a dress in his life. You also know that he has a hard time saying no to you.
This is more of a test to see how far he would really go. “Too fucking bad. I’m not going to wear one of your dresses.” You pull your legs back to your body. Rafe tries to stop you from leaving but you had already turned away from him. “Baby come back.” There it is. That little moment he gives you butterflies. He’s been calling you that recently.
Baby
Like some freudian slip, a moment where he truly reveals how he feels. You ignore him as you open your closet grabbing a crop top instead. A dress was a long shot but you could pull this off. You walk back over to the bed, shirt in hand as you climb up. “What are you doing?” He’s watching as you crawl over to him. He can’t help but to have to adjust his pants. The action doesn’t go unnoticed.
“If you put the shirt on I’ll be happy. Then we can continue.” Rafe stares at the shirt then you. “Plus guys in crop tops are kinda hot.” You shrug your shoulders, looking down at the fabric and playing with it. Fanning innocence in your words to hide your true intentions. His eyes perk up hearing you say that. “You think guys look hot in that?”
His voice somehow got a little lower. You are itching to squeeze your thighs to sedate the ache you feel. But you won’t let him see that this is affecting you. It’s harder for him to hide and your eyes keep glancing down to get a peak. “Yeah. I like when you can see how tight the shirt is over their muscles.” Your eyes follow along his chest, imagine the shirt clinging to life on his chest. Your fingers are dying to touch him.
“Give me the damn shirt.” Rafe rips his shirt off, taking yours and puts it on. You mindlessly stare at him. You were right, the shirt is clinging to him. His muscles are stretching it out but his biceps are the main show. They are bulging out, the fabric barely holding together. He could choke you with his arms and you would be happy.
“Happy?” Your eyes flicker up to his. “Very.” Rafe shifts back to relax, his arm resting by your folded legs. His fingers extend out to brush against your exposed skin. “Truth or dare?” You think about it and take a long pause. “Truth.” His eyes squint at you, expressing his irritation that you took the easy way out. “Why did you and Evan break up?”
He knows why you two broke up, it was him. Evan made it known he never liked rafe and your friendship with him. It definitely didn’t help when Rafe and him got into a fight. Rafe may have implied that you would leave him in an instant if he asked you to. That really set him off and escalated from there. The next day you told Rafe that you and Evan had broken up. He was relieved to know he had once again chased off another guy.
“We had a huge fight after the party. He accused me of sleeping with you and wouldn’t stop yelling. In the end he told me I had to choose, you or him. I chose you.” His hand sandwich between your calf and thigh. Tightening as his mind processes what you said. “Why?” “That’s not the game. My turn.” He tries to protest and you won’t let him. You can’t admit that a part of you does want him. Evan was right to be concerned, not that you would cheat but that you have feelings for Rafe.
“Dare.” You wish you had fought harder to not play this game. You suck at coming out with things to say. “Are you always going to say dare?” “Yes.” You huf a bit. “I dare you to take a thirst trap photo and send it to the group chat.” He groans, already picturing the texts he’s about to get. Reluctantly he gets up positioning himself in front of your full length mirror. He takes the picture and sends it to the chat.
Automatically Top and Kelce start blowing up the group chat. He ignores them and walks back over. “Truth or dare.” You don’t even think. “Dare.” He crawls on the bed like you did earlier, forcing you to lay back. His body is hovering above you, hand playing with the hair that frames your face. “I dare you to show me what you got earlier at Victoria Secret.” He saw the package when he got through the door. His curiosity was eating at him. Smirking, you run your hand around his chest, teasing where the shirt ends only to push him off you.
You grab the box that was sitting on your dresser and open it up. Slowly you take off your sleep shorts and shirt. Your fingers wrap around the thin piece of fabric you call underwear. Pulling them down inch by inch teasing him further by throwing them at him. You don’t know where your confidence came from. Before today you would never strip naked in front of Rafe, you just can’t help yourself.
You take out a red lace teddy, the lace only covers part of your sides and your breasts. It was held together by thin straps, leaving your front fully exposed. Rafe’s hand starts to palm himself over his sweatpants, the pain in his dick becoming unbearable. “Fuck you look good.” You giggle and give him a twirl shaking your ass in the process. “Yeah? You like it, pretty boy.”  Your hands are roaming your body, pausing to play with your breast.
Rafe can’t help but stare. “Come here.” You do without question, not wanting to let go of the game you ask him again. “Truth or dare.” Rafe reaches for your sides as soon as you get close. Playing with the lace between his fingers. “Can we both just stick to dare? It’s more fun that way.” Smiling you lean in, closing the gap slightly. “I dare you to take off your pants.” Like a good boy he does.
His boxer does nothing to hide the impressive dick he has. Your mouth water just thinking about it. Without really thinking your hand lands on his thigh, making its way up and retracting as soon as you get close to his dick. “Don’t be shy, baby. You can touch me.” Your eyes look at him through your eyelashes. He could probably cum just from watching you. Bingo
“I dare you to touch yourself.” A gasp leaves your lips at his dare. You know what he means, he wants you to pleasure yourself in front of him. But instead of listening you start to touch your thighs, then arms, and chest. “You know what I meant. Don’t you go start being a brat right now.” Giggling you move his thighs, slotting yourself in between them. Leaning back you expose yourself to him. The open crotch leaves you fully bare to him.
“Fuck.” He grunts as your fingers play with your clit, collecting the wetness by your entrance to help your movements. You almost get lost in the feeling, forgetting about the game, almost. “I dare you to take those boxers off and show me how you take care of yourself.” Rafe’s dick twitches when the cool air of your room hits him. His hand rapidly wrapping around himself and tugging.
The two of you kinda stay there in a lull. Both of you watch the other as they play with themselves, waiting the other out till they crack. Rafe had envisioned this differently, he thought he would be the one having you begging for him. Now he doesn’t even know if he can go another minute without touching you. Without feeling you stretch out on him. He knows this is only going to torture himself more but he can’t help it. “I dare you to come sit on my lap.”
You may have been confident before but this is going further then you thought. Before you can psych yourself out you do it. Throwing your legs over his, your folds parting as you sit down on him, his dick laying perfectly on your pussy. His hands find your hips as your arms wrap his neck. Holding each other and staring into each other’s eyes. “Like this?” Your voice convey’s innocence, so do your eyes. Melting him even further into your spell. “Just like that baby.”
His hands start to rock you back and forth, his dick sliding between your folds. The tip brushing against your clit. You let out a moan from the feeling, grinding harder to please him too. Your efforts were rewarded with a chocked moan leaving his perfect lips. Wanting to test how far he’s willing to go, your head leans forward. He's moving in trying to taste your lips, only stopping when he sees that you did. “I dare you to kiss me.” The words whispered on his lips.
Rafe brings a hand up to the back of your neck, dragging you in for a kiss. His lips devour yours as if you were his last meal. With the way that your soaking cunt is drenching him, it might actually be. He feels like he’s in heaven right now, he never wants this feeling to stop. But he knows it could be better. “I dare you to put it in.” Your hips stop, lips following along. There’s saliva connecting your lips as you detach yourself. You look apprehensive, not really sure if you want to ruin the friendship. “Do you really think that’s a good idea?”
Your fingers graze his scalp, missing when he had hair. The feeling of it weaving through your fingers can be felt lightly. “I miss your hair.” Rafe grins at you, pecking your lips. “I’ll grow it out again if you sit on my dick.” You clench around nothing, itching to feel him inside you. “Plus we’re best friends. We should be able to do everything together.” He brushes a piece of hair behind your ear, his hand resting on your check, thumb grazing your bottom lip. Blue eyes following the movement, flickering up to catch yours.
In your mind you know he’s trying to manipulate you with the best friend card. The truth is you don’t care, you would have pulled the same trick. Rafe isn’t the only one desperate to have him in me. “Okay. Promise this won’t change anything.” you lift your pinky up to him, he latches his to yours. “Promise, Just…just sit on it. That’s all you have to do.” He needs you now, he’ll say or do anything to get it. You lift yourself a little, getting a hold of him to line him up to your entrance.
Slowly you tease your hole with his tip. Slightly putting it in and then going up to then swirl his head around. Rafe is getting frustrated, groans of displeasure leaving his mouth. “Please.” He whines out, hands death gripping your hips. You lightly tap his cheek so he can open his eyes. With a smile you sink down, moaning at the feeling of his big dick stretching you. When you bottom out you lean your forehead on his. Hips flushed to one another.
Your eyes are locked in, watching as you both stew in the pleasure of feeling each other. Your walls are fluttering around him so nicely. He doesn’t know how much of this he could handle. Honestly he’s glad he suggested you cockwarm him. If he was fucking you right now he would have already finished. You are so tight and warm he wouldn’t have lasted a minute. Plus it gives you a chance to get used to him, he doesn’t plan on being gentle next him. His hands explore your back, nails raking down and slapping your ass. You let out a loud moan, your walls contract making him let one out as well.
The minutes pass by as you two explore each other. Sharing kisses on lips or exposed skin, hands touching every inch they can reach. You can feel him throbbing inside you, pulsating every few seconds. Pulling away, your hands lay flat on his chest to keep him still. “I dare you to touch me.” Tilting your head you mock him. “Let’s see if you can make me cum.” A hand flies to your clit rubbing calculated circles, the other gripping your neck. “Dangerous game you’re playing there, baby.”
Rafe’s back to attacking your lips, moving his assault to your jaw nipping at the skin. His fingers move faster on your clit, hurdling you closer to your orgasim. “Tighter.” You plead, your own hand laying over his to get what you want. He tightens his hold, chuckling at your open mouth expression. “Fucking dirty girl. Here I thought you were my little angel, turns out you're a little devil.” Words don't seem to be forming in your brain.
Everything is blank, the only thing in your head is forcing you to focus on how good his fingers feel. How every twitch of his dick brushes your g-spot only adding to your pleasure. He can feel how close you are, your walls are strangling him. Ironic since it's the same thing he’s doing to you. The fuzziness of your mind snaps the band in your stomach, all the stimulation too much for you to handle. “Rafe please.” Your moans mix with his, they echo in your room bouncing off the walls.
Rafe continues his motions to help you ride out your orgasim. His hands give up once you relax again. He’s on the verge of cumming, mustering up all his strength he holds back. You sense his hands on your hips ready to pull you up. You slap his hands away, cementing yourself to his lap. He gives you a panic look, knowing he won’t be able to hold off for long. “I dare you to cum in me. We should be able to do everything together right?” The moan he let out was pornographic at best. His body is shaking from how intense his orgasim is.
You moan as you watch him enjoying the view of his face and the feeling of him filling you up. He pulls you to his chest, keeping you close as he comes down. This is better than any drug he has ever taken. Slowly and carefully he moves you around, laying you on your back and pulling out. He stares at his dripping cum slides out of you. “God baby you’re amazing.” He kisses your stomach, chest, chin, then lips.
He holds you there, lips molding with yours. He gets up after a minute, getting a wet rag to clean you up. You lay in bed motionless when Rafe comes back after disposing of the dirty rag. “That was fucking amazing.” You say to your ceiling. Laughing, he lays down next to you. You look at him with a smile. “If you think that was good just wait till I actually fuck you.”

"I'm so excited you're here" for buddie 🙏
"I'm so excited you're here," Christopher says, grinning up at Buck in the way that never fails to set his heart on fire.
Buck smiles, tousling the curls on top of Christopher's head fondly. "You didn't really think I'd let your dad have all the fun, did you?"
Chris laughs at that, and for the first time since Buck watched him walk out Eddie's front door two months ago, it starts to feel like maybe everything is going to be okay again.
It's not that Buck ever doubted Christopher and Eddie would find their way back to each other again. It wasn't a shock to him that Chris wanted to come back to LA– that he wanted to come home– nor was he surprised when Eddie dropped everything to get on the next flight to El Paso as soon as Christopher said he was ready. He never doubted that any of it would happen.
Some selfish part of him just wished it hadn’t taken as long as it did.
He knows it’s what Christopher needed, and he knows that Eddie did the right thing in letting him go. It just hurt, is all. Worse than he ever could have imagined.
It felt like Buck’s chest had been cracked open, a piece of his heart ripped off, torn out. And as much as time helped to close the wound, it still ached with each breath he took. He still spent the last two months walking around like a piece of him was missing.
And maybe it was.
He and Eddie had gotten together not too long after Chris left, and Buck had spent the majority of the flight fretting over how Chris would react to the changes that occurred in his absence. Somewhere over New Mexico, Eddie had placed a hand on Buck’s bouncing knee, the familiar warmth of his touch instantly grounding. It washed over him like a balm, instantly soothing the restless hum beneath his skin.
“Baby,” Eddie had said, his voice low so as to not disturb any of their fellow travelers. “It’s going to be fine. Great, even.”
Buck had let out a tiny sigh, trusting Eddie and yet still finding it hard to shake the last of the stress away. “Wh-What if he changes his mind?” he asked, the words bitter on his tongue. “What if he refuses to get on the plane? What if he– if he wants to stay with your parents? Eddie, I– I’ll never forgive myself if I’m the reason you lose him again, I–”
“Shh,” Eddie’s hand moved from Buck’s knee to take his hand, lacing their fingers together and giving Buck's hand a reassuring squeeze. “He’s over the moon,” Eddie reminded him. “Has been since we told him.”
Which was true. They’d kept it a secret for nearly a month– from Christopher, from the 118, from everyone. There was something special about it, keeping their relationship to themselves. Something almost sacred about walking around with Eddie’s heart in his chest and being one of only two people in the world who knew it.
As special as it was, nothing came close to how good it was once they decided it was time to share it.
Christopher had been their first call, with Eddie assuring him that if it wasn’t something he was comfortable with, they’d end it. The thought alone had Buck’s chest aching, his stomach turning. He only just got Eddie, only just started to feel whole for the first time in his life. The fear that accompanied the thought of losing that– of losing Eddie– was nearly paralyzing. But it wasn’t one he had to sit with for too long. Christopher had broken out in a huge grin, mumbled something that sounded a lot like “Finally.”
They’d told everyone else after that, and Christopher wasn’t the only one whose reaction to the news included a wide smile and the word “Finally.”
And when Chris had texted this morning and said he wanted to come home, Eddie booked two tickets on the next flight out while Buck threw their things in an overnight bag and grabbed his keys.
Buck struggled to get the words out. “I know,” he let out a long, shaky exhale. “I– I just–”
“You’re worried,” Eddie, as always, knew exactly where Buck’s head was at, even before Buck did himself. “Because you think you’re not going to be enough for him. You’re afraid you’re not enough to make him want to stay. And you love him so impossibly much, that even the thought of possibly losing him again makes your heart break all over again.”
Buck nodded, swallowing around a lump in his throat. “Yeah.” He took a deep breath, trying to will away the hot tears pricking at the back of his eyes. “How’d you know?”
Eddie sighed, squeezing Buck’s hand in his. “I feel it, too.”
Buck's eyes shone with unshed tears. He brought their joined hands to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to Eddie’s knuckles. “What a pair we make.”
Eddie had taken his phone from his pocket, pulling something up before passing it to Buck. “I feel it,” Eddie repeated. “But I’m not too worried anymore. And this is why.”
Buck looked down to see Eddie’s text conversation with Chris.
Tumblr media
Buck’s heart swelled in his chest. He didn’t know if he’d ever be used to the feeling, to being loved like this.
“There’s more,” Eddie said, scrolling down to newer messages, the time stamp indicating they were exchanged just before takeoff.
Tumblr media
Buck lost the battle then with the tears welling in his eyes, the first one slipping free as he smiled down at Eddie’s phone screen. The tears blurred his eyes until the messages were nothing but blue and gray blurs.
Eddie had taken Buck’s face in his hands, wiping away the tears with his thumbs. And then he met Buck’s lips in a soft, sweet kiss, one that said more than his words ever could.
“Nothing to worry about,” Eddie had said when they parted, calm and reassuring. “Except maybe the javelinas.”
Buck grinned, blinking back the last of his tears.
“What are you smiling about?” Eddie teased.
Buck nodded at Eddie’s phone in his lap. “I think you have something to ask me.”
The corner of Eddie’s mouth tugged up into a shy smile, his eyes bright. “Will you–”
“Yes,” Buck didn’t even let him finish, too eager to get the word out, to dive into the next chapter of his life with Eddie. “Yes,” he repeated, grinning as he closed the distance and kissed Eddie again.
“Yeah?” Eddie breathed, equal parts hopeful and hesitant, the word coming out just shy of incredulous. Almost as if he couldn’t quite believe it.
Buck nodded, never more sure of anything. “Yeah.”
And now, they’re standing on the front steps of Eddie’s childhood home and Chris is laughing and wrapping his arms around Eddie and Buck is watching them with a smile so wide his cheeks are starting to hurt.
And then Christopher looks at Buck and goes “Buck do you want to see a javelina tomorrow?” and Buck feels like he just won the lottery.
“Absolutely,” Buck says.
He’s the luckiest man in the world.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
includes ponyboy, johnny, soda, darry, dally, two-bit and steve
word count: 2.1k
warnings: depression, fights, slightly suggestive
Tumblr media
PONYBOY CURTIS
you haven’t been in the right headspace for the past few weeks, so your grades started to slip
ponyboy would try and help you do your homework, even doing your homework for you but you wouldn’t have the energy to even try
but then, you had a test and you tried real hard to get a good grade, studying and stressing all over it for days
after you took the test and got your grade back, seeing it was an A, you suddenly felt better
at the end of the day, you and pony decided to go back to your house to study
he noticed you were talking more and laughing, so he asked you what happened
you smiled and told him you got a good grade on your test, for the first time in a while
you switched the topic and continued smiling, and pony looked at you with love
he was glad that you were feeling better, and he suspected you’d stay happy for weeks
he sometimes gets confused when you randomly switch but doesn’t say much about it
he’ll ask you about it later but not in the moment, especially if other people are there too
he knows you like it when he reads to you, so when you’re feeling upset, he’ll read to you so maybe you’ll feel better
he doesn’t want you to get frustrated if you’re not included in things, so he’ll always invite you to his track meets and will tell you about all the drama that happens if you don’t know about it
when you’re in a depressive state, he’ll help you plan things and start a routine
he just wants you to feel in control so you know what to do and have a sense of purpose
he also asks soda and darry for advice since they know you’re going through stuff, so occasionally they’ll help you out too
JOHNNY CADE
his parents were yelling at him so he went to your house, he knew his parents wouldn’t care
the only thing he was worried about was the fact that you were still in a depressive state, and he didn’t want you to feel more sad because of what he was going through
so when he knocked on your door and you answered, your eyes lit up and you smiled widely
he was shocked and didn’t know why you were so happy, but smiled back at you
you told him you were happy to see him unannounced, but asked why he came by
he told about what happened, so you invited him in and made cupcakes together
he knows what it’s like to be in a depressive state, so he’ll always try and help you feel in touch with the world
he tried to help you focus on things more and really take in information while paying attention
like focusing on how things move or sound, how strong smells are and how loud things are, how specific tastes are sweet, salty, hot, etc
when you’re happy, he tries to keep you like that by randomly checking up on you to see how you’re doing
he’ll also offer to do things for you like carrying or cleaning things for you
he just wants to make things easier for you, but of course that doesn’t always works
johnny loves you and makes sure you know it, always telling you you’re amazing and beautiful, that he appreciates everything you do, etc
SODAPOP CURTIS
you were at soda’s house, waiting for him to come back from work
you weren’t feeling that great but were trying your best to make him think you were at least feeling ok
when you hear the door opening and a creak, you look over to see soda with a dairy queen bag and two drinks
seeing his smile and the fact that he thought about you enough to bring you food made you switch
you got up from the chair and walked over to him, he put down the food
you put your hands and cradled his face while giving him a long kiss, then tracing your hand down his chest
after the two of you pulled away from the kiss, he looked down at you with a smile and said “glad you’re feeling better, sweetheart”
he’s naturally a very bubbly person and is a romantic at heart, you cannot change my mind
he literally worships the ground you walk on and will do that no matter how you’re feeling
if you’re feeling extra bad and hardly have the energy to get out of bed, he’ll take some days off work to spend more time with you
he just wants you to feel good but doesn’t always know how to handle it
he knows what it’s like to feel unheard, so he checks up on you a lot no matter how you’re feeling
when you’re happy, the two of you will go on cute little dates together
he’ll buy you a pretty necklace for your date and it’s an S for his name
when you’re angry, he’ll always try and calm you down without yelling
you try your best to not yell either since both of you know it doesn’t get you anywhere
DARRY CURTIS
you weren’t feeling that good for the past couple weeks ever since pony and johnny ran away
you stayed at darry’s house for a while, he was worried sick about the two boys
then you heard the phone ring, so you looked at darry, and he motioned you to go answer it
you got up off the counter and into the living room, where the phone was ringing loudly
picking up the phone, you said, “y/n l/n, what do you need?”
the person on the other end asked, “is darry curtis there? his brother and friend are in the hospital.”
your eyes went wide and you felt happy that the boys were back, but scared as to why they were in the hospital
you put the phone down without answering back, and ran to darry to tell him what had happened
he yelled for soda to come down since they had to go see pony and johnny in the hospital
he immediately went out the door and drove you two to the hospital, and you went to the floor where pony and johnny were
when you saw pony sitting on the chair, you smiled widely
darry was happy to see you feeling good again, but was still worried about why pony and johnny where there
he can get really impatient and frustrated with you at times but tries to stay calm because you can’t control how you act sometimes
most of the time, he knows when you’re struggling and tries to help you
so sometimes he’ll schedule an emergency therapy if you’re in a really bad mental state for whatever reason
he really cares about you but doesn’t always have the time or patience to try and reason with you
when you’re happy and feeling good, he’ll take you out to different places
sometimes it’s a restaurant and sometimes it’s just a little activity for you two to do together
he really likes cooking, so he’ll make food for you and will try new recipes
he’ll ask you to help him out with cooking since he knows you like to be a part of things
when you’re feeling sad, he tries to get you out of that mindset as soon as possible
he’ll still include you in hangouts in hope that you’ll feel better
DALLAS WINSTON
you were in one of your episodes, specifically one where you were mad all the time, which lasted for a few weeks
you knew you couldn’t do much about it, but dally would always try to get you out of the pissed off mindset
he always tried to make you feel better, even though most of the time, it wouldn’t do anything
he still wanted you to know he loves you, even if you wouldn’t appreciate it in the moment, you would appreciate it later when you were feeling better
today was your birthday, however, so dally took you out for dinner and actually paid
that got you out of your mad mindset, and he saw the moment you switched over to being happy
seeing that might’ve made him the happiest he’s ever been, knowing that he was the one to get you to switch over
you smiled and apologized for how you acted a few days ago, the two of you got into an argument
he brushed it off and said it was okay, and the two of you continued your dinner
when you were in your depressive episodes, he would help you shower, eat and go on walks since you hardly had the energy to get up
he would bathe you and buy you meals so you could eat
making you go outside at least every few days, the two of you would go on walks since he wanted you to get fresh air
when you were feeling mad, and you would feel that way for weeks, he would mostly stay away even though it was difficult for him
you were feeling happy and told him that if you were being all pissy at him, he should just not talk to you
you didn’t want to ruin your relationship or say something you didn’t mean, so you don’t him not to interact with you at those times
he still would, though, he would do little check ups on you to see if you were feeling okay, or if you wanted anything
if you were happy, he tried to keep you in that state for as long as he could
he thought you would stay happier if he gave you things, a lot of attention, and was overall with you more
it did work for a bit, until you randomly switched over, but he didn’t understand why
he would get impatient and frustrated with you at some points, but always managed to push through since he cared about you so much
TWO-BIT MATTHEWS
feeling bad the past couple weeks, two-bit decided to invite you to hang out with the gang
he just wants you to get some fresh air and to socialize with others, since you hadn’t in a few weeks
all of you were getting milkshakes at a diner and were talking
you drank a bit of your milkshake when two-bit started talking
then he made a joke about someone at another table, and of course everyone laughed, including you
he looked to you and smiled, weirdly proud of himself for getting you to feel better
he’d always try to make jokes even if you weren’t feeling the best
when you aren’t feeling that well, he’ll bring you to the drive-in so you can spend time together and just to try to help you feel better
STEVE RANDLE
the two of you were randomly talking while he was on his break at work, you decided to visit him at the DX
both of you were sitting down in the back, eating burgers and drinking soda
he asked you how school was going for you, and your eyes lit up
you started moving your hands around a lot and kicking your feet, talking about a fun project you were working on with your friends
he listened and continued asking questions in order to lengthen the conversation since you seemed excited
you didn’t think much about how you were down and now you were happy, so you started talking about some drama between a boy and girl in your class
he was normally the one to talk, but enjoyed hearing you talk more than you normally did
when you’re not feeling the best, he’ll bring you into the DX so you can help him fix up cars
it’s just a new thing for you to learn and to hang out with each other
he’s weirdly smart in some ways, so he’ll occasionally help you with history, since he was always into that
when you were feeling really happy, he’d invite you to hang out with the gang
he knew you appreciated it and would invite you whenever he could
(if you can’t tell, i never have ideas for steve so sorry)

Famille - A Marie-Philip Poulin Imagine
Tumblr media
Not requested! R is 16 and gets her first call up to Team Canada and Poulin takes her under her wing
This is probably the first in a series about baby!r and moms!poulin and stacey, this one is more pou focused but there's some stacey moments in there too, hope you enjoy!
Words: 5k
“Couple of new names on this roster,” Laura says. Pou hums distractedly. Laura walks over to where Pou is sitting and leans over the back of the couch to see what her fiancée is watching on her phone. It’s a blurry video of some hockey game.
“What are you watching?” Laura asks, wrapping her arms around Pou from behind.
“That girl, number 17, she’s on the roster.”
“Yeah, what about her? Is she good?”
Pou shifts a little on the couch.
“She’s 16,” Pou says, “She’s still in high school.”
“Right,” Laura says, realizing who “that girl” is, “She’s the one who’s younger than you were when you made your debut, right? By a few months?” Pou nods. “Everyone rates her really highly, do you remember if she’s committed to any colleges yet?”
“BU,” Pou says, “She… She’s so young. I was terrified when I got called up. So much pressure…”
“But you were okay, once you got there you were fine,” Laura says, “Everyone was nice to you and made it easier. We’re all gonna do that for her too, for all the rookies. We’re not monsters, we’ll make everyone feel welcomed.”
“Yeah…” Pou says, “I know we will.”
***
Laura doesn’t think much about their conversation until later.
When camp begins, Pou always waits in the hotel lobby for all the rookies. She’s the captain and she takes her role seriously and she feels it’s important to meet everyone and make sure they’re settling in well. She makes sure everyone has their room assignments and that they’re okay with who they’re rooming with.
For their first camp, the team always makes sure a rookie is rooming with a vet. It makes the transition easier, helps them get the hang of things, and get involved with team things. Laura doesn’t really check the room assignments, except her own (she’s with Blayre). Laura waits with Pou while she waits for the rookies and helps direct them to their rooms and the gym and the conference room where the team meetings will be held.
She sees that rookie, the young one, come in and Pou beelines for her. She watches the girl’s face go through shock, excitement, nervousness, all the emotions a 16-year-old has meeting Marie-Philip Poulin. She checks the sheet and almost laughs when she sees the girl’s rooming with Pou. Of course she is. Laura should know her fiancée better to know that she wouldn’t let something go once it gets in her head.
***
“Hello,” Pou says to the girl, who looks lost in the hotel. She looks at Pou and her eyes widen almost comically. “I’m Marie-Philip Poulin, we’re rooming together this camp. How are you feeling? Was the travel okay?”
“Um,” Y/N says, “Yeah.”
“Good.”
Pou has been told, rather teasingly, from Emma Maltais that people don’t shake hands anymore, so she doesn’t offer her hand to Y/N. Instead, she reaches out and pats her on the shoulder.
“You’re the last arrival,” Pou says. Y/N’s face drops.
“Oh no, is that bad? Am I late?”
“Non, non, you’re fine!” Pou is quick to reassure, “You had a later flight, that’s all. Come on, I’ll show you to our room.”
***
Y/N is nervous, that Pou can tell easily. It’s understandable, anyone would be nervous in her situation. Pou can see the way she picks at her nails, how her hands shake slightly as she takes the room key Pou hands her. Pou wants to be able to take her nervousness away, but she can’t. She can’t make the transition easier, she can’t make her stop worrying.
What Pou can do is be there. She hangs around their shared room while Y/N unpacks. She takes Y/N around the hotel, running into their other teammates and introducing them. She wants Y/N to go into the first practice knowing everyone.
It doesn’t seem to help. Y/N still seems as nervous, if not more, than when she first arrived. It’s not what Pou wants, and she thinks she knows what can help.
“There’s a public rink that’s not far,” Pou says, “If you want to, uh, stretch your legs after the flight.”
Y/N’s shoulders sag in relief.
***
The rink is not very far from the hotel, only a few blocks. It’s not super busy, but there’s still other people there. They don’t bring any of their gear with them, just their skates, and Pou brings a toque with her that she pulls low over her ears to try and get people not to recognize her.
(It doesn’t work.)
They skate around, not really talking for the first bit. Pou lets Y/N have a few laps, waits for her shoulders to drop completely, before she speeds up to skate side by side.
“You beat me,” Pou says, “You’re younger than I was when I made my debut,” Pou continues when Y/N gives her a confused look. “You beat my record.”
“I guess so,” Y/N says, “But just because I’m here doesn’t mean I’ll play.”
“Coach doesn’t call players up if he doesn’t intend to play them.”
Y/N doesn’t answer right away.
“You are very skilled,” Pou says, “You’re going to have a very good career. Maybe even better than mine.” Y/N scoffs. “It’s true!” Pou insists, “I’ve seen you play, you’re the best player on the ice no matter who you play with.”
“Yeah with the U18s,” Y/N shakes her head, “With my high school team. That’s hardly that impressive.”
“It’s impressive to me,” Pou says honestly, “I don’t want you to underestimate yourself. You might not find it very impressive, but I do and I’m happy that you’re here.”
Y/N doesn’t answer and they skate the rest of their time in silence.
***
At first, Pou can’t tell why she’s awake. All she knows is she doesn’t have to be up yet, and she wants to go back to sleep. Before she can, she hears sharp sniffles coming from the bed beside hers. She looks over, but it’s too dark to see, but she can definitely hear that Y/N is crying. She flips on the lamp beside her bed. Y/N startles, and tries to quickly wipe her face.
“Are you okay?” Pou asks, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Y/N says, her voice thick and nasally from her tears.
Pou’s heart breaks. She can remember her first camp, and crying alone in her bed and hoping her roommate wouldn’t wake up. She remembers feeling lost and out of place and missing home and feeling like she’s made the biggest mistake of her life. She gets out of bed and climbs in beside Y/N. She rubs between Y/N’s shoulder blades. Y/N freezes for a moment, then relaxes into the touch.
“I was terrified when I was your age,” Pou says, “I got on the ice for my first practice with the team and everyone skated, uh, round, uh, shapes around me.”
“Circles?”
“Oui,” Pou says, “Circles. And I felt out of place and like I wasn’t ready to be here. I cried too. My roommate was a heavy sleeper, so she didn’t wake up. I thought I had ruined my hockey career before it even started. But then I got better. I played better. And I made friends on the team.”
“Yeah, but you’re you,” Y/N says, “You’re, like, the greatest ever. I don’t think I’m ever gonna play like you. I just want to go home.”
“I know, patate,” Pou says, “I promise that everything will be alright. You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t deserve to be.”
Y/N doesn’t say anything. Pou thinks back to their practice earlier.
“In our scrimmage today,” Pou says, “You passed to me, near the end, and I missed the net. That was one of the best passes I’ve ever gotten. I don’t know if you thought I missed because the pass wasn’t good, but I missed because I was tired and I was ready to be done practicing, so I wasn’t trying very hard. It was an amazing pass and you were so smart and so skilled to get past the defender and get that pass off. I was very impressed with you today.”
“Do you mean that?” Y/N asks in a small voice.
“Oui, I will never lie to you.”
Y/N falls asleep with her head resting in Pou’s lap, and Pou stays up the rest of the night, making sure she sleeps okay, and planning how to get her to see how amazing everyone else can see that she is.
***
Pou doesn’t want to be overbearing. She doesn’t want Y/N to feel pressured or overwhelmed. She also doesn’t want the girl to become too attached to her and then never make friends with their other teammates. She also doesn’t want to back off too much and make Y/N think Pou doesn’t like her, or is upset with her. It’s a tough balance.
On the bus, Pou sits with Laura because she always does, and she watches Y/N to see who she’ll sit with. Everyone has their usual seatmates and Pou understands that, but she doesn’t want Y/N to sit alone.
“I won’t be mad,” Laura whispers.
“What?”
“If you go sit with her,” Laura says, “I won’t be mad. I know you want to.”
“I don’t want her to sit alone,” Pou says, “She probably doesn’t want to sit with me. I’m just waiting to see who will sit with her.”
It’s Erin Ambrose who ends up sitting with her and Pou breathes a sigh of relief when Y/N doesn’t immediately shy away. Erin has that effect on people, she can make anyone feel at ease with her. Pou doesn’t watch them the whole bus ride, but she knows Laura spends more time talking to herself than to Pou. She can’t help it, she didn’t expect to feel so protective and caring over Y/N, but she does and she needs to make sure Y/N’s okay.
***
They play a couple of games this camp, against the US, because of course they do and Pou takes on her ‘captain’ role: making sure the rookies feel prepared, making sure everyone else feels prepared, watching more than enough film for the whole team herself, making sure she has the scouting report for every player on the US roster in case anyone has questions.
Two days before the game, in the quiet of their room after lights out, Y/N whispers:
“I don’t think I’ll dress. I don’t think coach will dress me.”
“Y/N,” Pou rolls over and can barely make out Y/N’s outline in the other bed, “Y/N,” she says again when Y/N doesn’t react the first time. She doesn’t react again, but Pou knows she’s not asleep. “You are a better player than you give yourself credit for. You have done very well this camp and you’ve earned your spot.”
Y/N doesn’t respond and Pou lets it go. She stays awake until she’s sure Y/N’s asleep, and then she stays up for a little longer to make sure Y/N’s sleeping peacefully.
The day before the game, Y/N hovers around their room after they wake up. Pou goes through her morning routine and prepares to head down to breakfast, but Y/N’s still in her pyjamas, sitting on her bed, staring at the wall.
“Y/N?” Pou asks, “Are you okay?” Y/N shrugs. Pou sits on the bed beside her. “What’s going on?”
“Can we go to that rink? The one we went to before?”
“Of course, mon petite lapinou,” Pou says, “After we eat, then we can go. Sound good?” Y/N nods.
Pou takes her normal spot at breakfast beside Laura. She leans over and kisses her, ignoring their teammates’ teasing. Pou is resolutely ignoring everyone else, when Laura nudges her. Pou looks up from her scrambled eggs and gives Laura a look that says what? I’m eating, and Laura nods her head to Pou’s other side. Y/N approaches, holding her breakfast in her hands. She walks up to Pou’s side.
“Can I sit here?” Y/N asks quietly.
“Oui, yes, of course,” Pou shifts so Y/N actually has space to sit beside her.
Pou’s a little surprised. Y/N normally sat with the other rookies, or at least with the younger girls. Pou takes a quick look and there’s empty seats at the other tables, so it’s not like Y/N didn’t have options. Jenner raises her eyebrows a little towards Y/N when she joins them, but she doesn’t say anything.
“Excited for the game tomorrow?” Erin Ambrose claps Y/N on the shoulder. Y/N seems to shrink into herself, her head dropping to her chest.
“Hey,” Laura interrupts before anyone can say anything else, “Jenny, didn’t you tell me you had a cute vid of June to show me?”
It’s a good distraction, Jenner is always down to gush about her kids, a million pictures and videos ready in her camera roll to show anyone who’s willing, and Ambrose can’t help but lean over too to see the video Jenner’s showing Laura. It gives Pou the chance to turn to Y/N without everyone else listening in.
“I don’t wanna talk about it,” Y/N says before Pou can say anything.
“It’s okay to be nervous,” Pou says.
“I don’t wanna talk about it,” Y/N says, almost pleadingly.
“Alright,” Pou turns back to her own breakfast, “You can talk to me about anything, when you’re ready,” Pou adds quickly.
Y/N eats in silence, the rest of the table leaving her be, either because they realize they should, or because Pou gives them a look when they go to talk to Y/N. When Pou finishes eating, she looks over and sees Y/N’s plate is empty too.
“You wanna go?” Pou asks. Y/N nods quickly.
They head to the public rink they went to before and it’s open, but it’s much quieter than when they were there before, most of the public not going skating this early in the morning. They skate a few laps, Y/N a few strides ahead of Pou. After a few laps, Y/N stops and turns around and Pou stops with her. Y/N’s eyes are filled with tears.
“I’m so scared,” Y/N says, “I feel like I’m gonna screw it all up. I don’t know what to do.”
Pou doesn’t hesitate to pull Y/N into her arms. Y/N hugs Pou back tightly and Pou shushes her as her shoulders shake. Pou waits for Y/N’s sobs to have lessened to a few sniffles.
“I know it’s scary, and I don’t blame you for what you feel,” Pou says, “What you’re doing is very hard and it’s very scary, and it’s also very impressive. It’s easy to feel like you’re not good enough, but you have to understand that you are sixteen, and this is your first time with us and most of us have been on the team for years and we’ve played at the highest level for years. None of that means we’re better than you, it means we have more experience and that we’re better at hiding what we really feel. I still feel terrified before a big game. At the Olympics I still feel the way I did at my first one, I just hide it better now. Everyone feels the way you do, and that’s okay.”
“I thought it was supposed to get better,” Y/N’s voice is muffled in Pou’s shoulder.
“It does. You get more experience, you learn what to do to calm yourself down, you learn to lean on your teammates and your friends and your family when you need to. You learn that a dumb friendly against the US is not an Olympic final, and you learn to find the joy in it all. I know you’re afraid that you’re going to mess up and that coach will think you’re not good enough for the team, and I am here to tell you that won’t happen. I’ve seen you play with the U18s and in high school and I’ve seen you play with us. You are very skilled and you have nothing to worry about. You’re going to make mistakes, you’re going to take dumb penalties, you’re going to miss a shot or a pass or someone is going to skate around you and make you look silly, and that’s okay because none of that means you’re a bad player or that you don’t deserve to be here. If you didn’t deserve to be here you wouldn’t be here.”
Y/N doesn’t respond, but Pou knows she’s just processing what Pou said. They stand in the middle of the ice, holding each other, the few others there ignoring them. After a little bit, Y/N pulls back and wipes her face.
“What did you call me this morning? Um, like, petite, uh.”
“Lapinou,” Pou answers, “It means little bunny.”
“Because I’m small?”
“Non,” Pou laughs, “Because you’re young and you’re like a bunny on the ice. You have so much energy and you’re very fast. Like a bunny.”
Y/N smiles softly, and she taps Pou’s side with her fist lightly.
“Thanks,” Y/N says and Pou knows she’s not talking about the nickname anymore.
***
Game day begins the same way that any game day does. Team breakfast, pregame team meeting, a few hours of free time, then team bus ride to the arena for a pregame skate, and another team meeting, and then it’s game time.
A lot of the team has very specific pregame rituals, and Pou lets them do their thing. Pou gets herself game ready, she thinks through all the ways the game could go and how she should react and respond to it. She doesn’t let herself focus too hard on what ifs before they happen, but she likes to be prepared for everything.
Y/N doesn’t have a pregame ritual, which Pou can understand, because she didn’t have one either when she was 16. When Pou asks her what she normally does before a game, Y/N shrugs and says she does whatever the rest of her team does. Pou expects her to go find someone else to hang out with, since Pou knows she’s not that fun to hang out with. Instead, Y/N stays, and she asks Pou to talk her through what she’s thinking, and Pou finds herself going over the game with Y/N.
When it’s time to leave, the team heads onto the bus. Y/N gets pulled into a lively discussion with the Gosling cousins as Pou sits next to Laura. Pou can’t help but keep an eye on Y/N, making sure she’s okay and that the girls aren’t overwhelming her. Pou barely glances away when Clark says something to her and Pou blushes and tries to ignore the knowing look Laura gives her.
The game starts fast and rough like it always does. Both teams come out firing right from the gate and each team is trying to suss out the refs and see how much they can get away with without a call, so there’s always some hard hits before the game settles some. Pou did her best to prepare the rookies for it, so that no one’s caught off guard the first time they go crashing into the boards.
Pou watches from the bench as Y/N’s line skates down the ice. Neither team has gotten into a rhythm yet, the puck switching possession in the neutral zone, one or two players breaching the offensive zone to get a half-hearted shot off before the defense swarms them. Y/N races for a puck that’s been sent deep into the zone with Megan Keller hot on her tail. Pou holds her breath as she waits for the inevitable collision at the boards, and then Y/N eases up. For a second, Pou wants to swear. Y/N’s going to get ripped into by their coach if she keeps backing off plays. But then, as soon as Keller gets past her, Y/N picks up speed again, surprising Keller and shoving her off the puck and taking it herself. She takes a look on the ice and passes it into the slot to Danielle Serdachney who slides it past Frankel.
Pou jumps out of her seat. She joins her teammates as they bang on the boards in celebration. Dachs skates past the bench for fist bumps and Y/N does too with the rest of the players on the ice. They head onto the bench and the next line comes out onto the ice. Pou grabs Y/N as soon as she’s close enough.
“Bravo, mon petite lapinou! That was such a smart play,” Pou praises. Y/N looks up at her, a bashful look on her face.
“Really? You think so?”
Pou is struck again by how young she is. She looks younger like this, sitting on the bench with Pou standing over her, in her gear and cage, face red from exertion, and looking like she almost can’t believe Pou thinks she did well. Pou leans down so their helmets knock together lightly.
“Every time you step on the ice I find something else about you to be impressed by. I’m so proud of you.”
Y/N’s eyes sparkle under the praise and the grin doesn’t leave her face for the rest of the game.
***
The next game is a few days later. They spend those days recovering, and then revving themselves back up. They watch film, address what went well in the last game and what didn’t, and working to improve on their game. Pou thought that Y/N’s performance in the last game would assuage her doubts, but she finds that she’s wrong.
“Are you excited to start university?” Pou asks, seeing Y/N filling out scholarship paperwork. She knows college is two years away, but she also knows that colleges want things done early, they want commitment on paper early. Y/N shrugs.
“I guess.”
“You don’t sound very excited.”
“I just…” Y/N tugs her hood over her head, “I don’t think I’ll play much. I like the school and I like the coach and… There’s just so many players, better than me, and I think I’ll ride the bench. I just want to play hockey."
"Of course you’ll play! No team would even dream of benching you,” Pou says, “They recruited you because they want you and you provide something they don’t have.”
“I’ve never played with college players before,” Y/N says, “I’ve only played with the U18s, and in high school. I’m going to get destroyed out there.”
“You played with us,” Pou puts her hands on Y/N’s shoulders and looks her in the eye, “You made the senior national team at sixteen, and you made your debut and you got an assist. You played so well–”
“I got lucky,” Y/N interrupts, “That wasn’t skill.”
“That wasn’t luck! You played so well because you are so skilled and so talented. One day you will see how good you are and you will appreciate the opportunities you’ve been given, and until you do I will be here to remind you that you are so wonderful and amazing and you deserve all the good things you have.”
Pou doesn’t know how long it will take to get Y/N to fully believe her, but she’s willing to remind the young girl every opportunity she has until it sinks in.
***
The game is rough from the start. Coming off a loss, the US is hungry for an early goal and to disrupt Canada as much as they can. Pou can feel her own frustration building, but she forces herself to push it down and keep her focus. It doesn’t do anyone any good for her to lose her head because the other team is chippy.
Pou does her best to calm the team down. Most of the vets don’t need her help, but some of them and the rookies Pou can tell are letting the game get to them. She mimes deep breaths, she tells them all to take their frustrations out on the scoreboard, to get even by scoring and winning, not taking silly penalties and giving up opportunities.
The US scores early. It sucks and it’s off a stupid mistake, a wayward pass that landed right in the path of Grace Zumwinkle, and Pou can see the frustration, disbelief, and disappointment on Ella Shelton’s face. Pou grabs her before she skate to the bench, almost before the puck has even fully crossed the line.
“You’re fine, it was a mistake, let it go and keep pushing. We’ll get it back and we’ll get the win.”
Ella nods and Pou doesn’t let go until she unclenches her jaw.
“Yeah, we’ve got this.”
***
Pou isn’t on the ice when it happens. She’s on the bench, breathing hard after a tough shift and watching Y/N skate after the puck. Pou is immensely proud of the young girl, she’s made a name for herself and a place on the roster and any fears or doubts she has disappear when she steps on the ice. Pou’s eyes follow her, and she watches Y/N pick up a loose puck and skate quickly around the US defenders and get a breakaway on goal. Pou’s half on her feet before Y/N even takes the shot, and the bench yells when her shot gets blocked by the goalie. Y/N gets one whack at the rebound before the puck gets covered and Pou watches a US player shove Y/N in the back and she sprawls forward onto the ice.
“Hey!” Pou screams, her arms up. The rest of the bench screaming with her.
It’s not even a second after that Laura appears beside the US players and grabs her around the neck and pulls her back. Laura doesn’t let go, holding her and yelling in her face, and all the players on the ice get into it. The refs blow their whistle and start pulling players back. Players break off and skate to the bench while the refs debate over what the calls should be. Laura gets dragged to the bench by her teammates because she’s still yelling at the refs and the entire American bench.
“Fucking bitch,” Laura mutters when she gets to the bench. Pou laughs at her fiancée and taps her helmet. Pou goes over to Y/N and compliments her on the play. Y/N grins as she takes the compliment and Pou can hear the excitement in her voice.
Pou jumps off the bench when the refs leave their huddle, going over as captain to get an explanation, giving a nod to Knight when she gets there. The refs tell them that both players committed penalties, so they’re determining them incidental and letting them go, rather than playing four on four. Pou tries to argue that Laura’s wasn’t a penalty, that she was preventing the US player from injuring their player, but the refs won’t hear it. Pou goes back to the bench to relay the message. Laura is still ranting.
“Laura,” Pou says in amusement, “Are you trying to get a penalty?”
“Did you see what happened? That was such a dangerous play, she had two hands on her,” Laura mimes the shove, “Two hands!”
Pou shakes her head and skates to the face off circle, leaving Laura ranting to whoever is unfortunate enough to be left on the bench with her.
***
In the dying minutes of the third, they’re tied, 2-2, and Pou is getting herself ready for overtime. It’s never a good idea to plan ahead in sports, but overtime is a completely different ball game than regulation, and it’s a different mentality and Pou knows she needs to be ready from the jump against a team like the US.
It doesn’t matter though, because with 30 seconds left Canada has a mix up with their shifts and they’re almost caught out, until Y/N jumps off the bench amidst the confusion and steals the puck off the American’s stick. She streaks through center ice, past the defenders and it’s a one-on-two, Y/N in alone, and Pou expects her to dump it deep and let the team get situated, but she doesn’t. She moves outside then cuts inside, clearing just enough of a lane to rip a shot on net. Pou doesn’t realize what’s happened, until the buzzer sounds and the ref is pointing at the net and Pou realizes Y/N just fucking scored. She watches Y/N skate quickly past the net and leap into the boards. The rest of the team on the ice swarms her and when they skate past the bench everyone slaps Y/N’s hands while she laughs.
There’s only a few seconds left in the game and Pou goes out for the face off and then the buzzer sounds and even though it's just a friendly, it sure feels like one of the biggest games the team has played.
Back in the locker room, Y/N is given the game puck for her first goal. The team cheers loudly for her and then someone, Clarky, Pou thinks, starts chanting speech.
“Uh,” Y/N starts, “Thanks, I guess. I would thank my assisters, but they’re in the other locker room, so.”
The room erupts again, with cheers and laughs and Emma grabs Y/N around the waist and hoists her in the air and Y/N’s squeal is drowned out by cheering.
Later that night, after the celebrations are over and the team remembers they have early morning recovery and everyone is back in their rooms for the night, Pou comes out of the bathroom to see Y/N sitting on her bed, staring at the game puck in her hands with a smile.
"Congratulations patate,” Pou says, “Your first goal.”
“Yeah,” Y/N says quietly.
“I’m proud of you,” Pou says earnestly, “You’ve done so well for yourself.”
Pou continues getting ready for bed, reminding Y/N that she does too. Reluctantly, Y/N puts the puck down and digs her pyjamas out of her suitcase. Pou waits for Y/N to be back in bed before she shuts the lights off and climbs into bed herself.
***
Later, when the team is saying goodbye and everyone is departing for the airport, Pou and Laura are waiting in the hotel lobby for their ride to the airport. Pou smiles when Y/N comes to join them. Y/N’s flight is later, but Pou’s glad for the chance to say a real goodbye before she leaves. Y/N hugs Laura first, only whining a little when Laura ruffles her hair.
“Can I come visit you in Montreal?” Y/N asks, “Over the summer, once school’s done?”
“Of course you can, mon petite lapinou,” Pou says, “You’re always welcome.”
Y/N hugs Pou tight.
“You can call me whenever you want, I don’t care what time it is. I’ll always be here for you,” Pou whispers.
“Thanks, mama.”

King and Prince 20
Part 19
There was no other way to describe it, Eddie thought as he literally watched Steve sitting under a tree with Robin, laughing at something she said. Spring had not only come to this land, but to the prince as well. Like a flower in bloom, he was open and inviting. And everyone longed to be like the sun, having that flower turn to face them. At least, that was the thought that crossed Eddie’s mind and surely everyone else felt the same way.
He teased the kids more, ruffling their hair, and even allowing himself to be the but of the joke at times. He and Robin turned out to be thick as thieves, which Eddie could have never predicted. All this because he had been allowed to roam the town.
Yesterday, Eddie happened to spy a hickey peeking from the top of Steve’s collar and could deny it no longer. He had found a lover. Steve had found a lover. Perhaps even more than one. After all, there was no reason to limit himself to just one. The fact remained though that someone was making him glow with their affections.
Someone out there was kissing him, whispering sweet things in his ear, telling him how lovely he was-SNAP
Eddie looked down to the broken quill in his hand.
“Something on your mind?”, Gareth asked, returning a book on one of his shelves.
Eddie wriggled his fingers and brushed the broken quill away, careful not to smudge what he had just been writing. “No. Nothing at all”, he lied.
Gareth waited patiently for him to continue, knowing he would. In the meantime, he grabbed another book and sat on the other side of Eddie’s desk.
“Steve has been going out often, hasn’t he?”
“About every other night, yes. Are you regretting giving him that freedom?”
“Well…”, Eddie struggled for only a second to think of a reason. “What if Nancy’s right?” He pushed off from his desk and stood, going to the window behind him. Thankfully Nancy was in a neighboring town, otherwise he’d fear she would actually materialize out of thin air.
“About the prince conspiring with townsfolk?”
“Or a spy. Anyone really. We just don’t know.”
Gareth sighed. “Time to put on my ‘Nancy hat’. Why don’t you send someone to follow him and see?”
The last thing Eddie wanted to see was Steve actually in the middle of the deed. But going along just far enough to make sure no other liaisons were happening was just his duty as a king, wasn’t it? He had to protect his people. And if Steve was only just meeting lovers, well he should feel confident enough to bring them back to the castle to introduce to everyone, shouldn’t he? If they weren’t conspirators anyway.
Eddie found the resolution to do so just a few nights later. He and Robin were relaxing in a sitting room, sipping together after having sent the kids to bed a couple hours ago. That was when Steve came in and draped himself on the couch Robin was sitting on with a dreamy sigh.
“Let me guess”, she said. “The woodcarver’s son?”
“You know me a little too well for how short we’ve known each other”, Steve said, bringing his head to her lap.
Eddie was sitting on the couch opposite them, leg propped up on the armrest. He didn’t like the way Steve didn’t even seem to notice he was there.
“You’re late”, he said, sitting up.
Steve turned just his head to look at him. “I know, I’m sorry. But it’s not always easy to get away.”
Robin snorted. “You mean clean up takes forever?”
“Don’t be crass”, Steve scolded lightly. “And I’ll have you know, Jason is the perfect gentleman. He always helps me clean up afterward.”
Eddie knew of Jason, the son of a woodcarver. Diligent in his work, a leader among the youth in town. His face was…fine, Eddie had to admit. He certainly wasn’t plotting to take Eddie’s kingdom down, that was for sure. Born and raised here, Jason only stirred up trouble a couple of times the way kids typically did. He had no reason to mistrust him.
And yet…
As the night went on, Steve and Robin continued to talk about him. Apparently Jason first saw him at the festival when he competed in the games. They talked a lot about athletic pursuits. Wood carving wasn’t for the soft of hands after all. Robin asked about others Steve had met with. Faith, Gabriella, Harris, but it always came back to Jason.
He must be Steve’s favorite. Which meant that Eddie had to see what the big deal was about. On top of all the other reasons he’d come up with before too, of course. Steve didn’t go out the next night or the one after. But the third night, he did and Eddie followed. He traveled in the shadows until they got to town, then shifted to a bird. His usual form would have been instantly recognizable at this point, so he went with a starling appearance tonight.
Steve tied his horse to a post and went into a tavern. Eddie perched on a window just long enough to see Steve immediately sit down with a young woman. So not Jason. He waited by the door for someone to go through and flew in, staying aloft in the rafters and close to the edges of the ceiling. He got right above their table to listen in. She seemed a sweet lady, but looks could be deceiving.
“I wasn’t expecting to see you here tonight”, Steve said. “I thought your family needed help at home this week?”
“I was able to get away”, she said. “Are you…disappointed?”
Steve reached out and touched her cheek. “How could I be when I am gifted with your presence?”
She melted in his touch and Eddie had seen enough. There was nothing shady going on, so he had no reason to stay. He went back home, but spent about an hour, pacing about in his room, trying to find explanation for why he was so agitated. Steve hadn’t lied. Hadnt gone against them. Which meant he got to say ‘I told you so’ to Nancy when she got back. The night after that, Eddie sat down in his chair, ready for story time but was off most of the evening. El was the one to point it out.
“Why do you keep looking at the door? Are you expecting someone?”
“This late?”, Lucas asked.
“Yeah, you’ve been kind of twitchy all night”, Dustin added.
“No I haven’t, and it’s fine”, Eddie brushed them off. He knew it was because of Steve. If these kids knew, they wouldn’t stop until they got to the bottom of why. And Eddie wasn’t ready to face the why.
It wasn’t until Robin spoke up later, once the children were sent off that he got the kick in the pants to find out the truth.
“They’re right you know. You were twitchy.”
“You know I can’t stand still for more than a minute”, Eddie said in his defense.
“Yeah, but this is different. It’s like…”, then she snapped her fingers. “How Mike gets when Will would rather spend time with Lucas.”
Eddie’s stomach dropped. They had been teasing Mike about his not so secret crush for a while now. To be compared to that…
The only way to prove he wasn’t jealous was to see Steve actually be with someone and have no problem with it, right? He had walked in on more than one of his servants entangled with each other. It was a big castle, places for secret rendezvous were numerous. He’d even happened on Dustin stealing a kiss from a girl in town once. He felt nothing when watching others share their affections. So Steve shouldn’t be any different.
Eddie hadn’t disciplined Steve when he came back late, so he got more bold with his curfew. He always returned to lay his head in the castle, Eddie noticed, but he didn’t rush back as the sun set either. One day he left as the sun was dipping low, giving the last bits of light as he traveled on the path from here to town.
Eddie followed, in his raven form this time as pitch black wings were better for camouflage in the night. And Steve may recognize this form, but even if he saw him, surely he wouldn’t put two and two together. There was more than one raven in the world, they couldn’t all be Eddie. When Steve dismounted, the tavern was just a quick stop. He tied the horse to a post and then went across the street.
He watched the prince chat up a candlemaker, seemingly having just a nice conversation before leaving to go somewhere else. Eddie was about to follow when his bird’s eye view allowed him to see a child sitting in an alley, legs hugged to their chest. He flew down and pecked at their shoe to get their attention.
A nice shoe, not an orphan, probably just lost. The kid seemed down on themselves and after Eddie played around to get their spirits up (making funny bird noises, puffing his feathers up, tugging at their hair) he was able to lead them out of the alley. Feeling less hopeless, the child called out for their parents and Eddie helped to get attention by squawking from their shoulder.
A man ran up and scooped up the kid, grateful for having found him. Eddie took his leave then, but had unfortunately lost Steve. He knew he wasn’t at the pub, so his only lead was the woodcarver’s. That was where he flew and sure enough, when he perched on the roof, he heard something from behind it.
A soft sound, just a low ‘mmf’ that anyone else still on the street or in their homes wouldn’t be able to pick up. He walked across the roof and the posterior of the shop was lit by just a single lantern hung from a rung. He peered down, almost hanging upside down to see Steve, legs wrapped around Jason while he was sat upon some crates. Steve let out another quiet moan and Jason gave him a gentle shush.
“It’s the evening hour, you’ll wake everyone up if you’re too loud”, Jason smiled while continuing to thrust into him.
Steve pressed his lips together to keep from making too much noise. His eyes were unfocused as they looked up, suddenly gaining focus and gasping when he noticed the bird watching them. Eddie remained frozen. If he left now that he’d been spotted it would practically confirm his identity. Steve tightened his hold on Jason. His panting picked up as he got closer and Jason stuck two fingers into his mouth.
The prince groaned and for just a moment, Eddie imagined what wonders Steve was doing with his mouth. Was he simply sucking or did his tongue lick between the digits? Eddie knew he should leave, it was only decent. But Steve’s gaze kept him tethered to where he was. His eyes only closed when he started to cum, Jason pushing and pulling a few more times before he did as well.
Steve was floating. Jason pulled his fingers out and wiped them on his shirt. He was saying something as Steve came back into himself but he wasn’t sure what. The bird had flown away.

Another thing I had noticed was the way Ruby interreacts with everyone vs. how she interacts with Oscar. Like her mannerisms seem to change a bit when she speaks or is near him or she treats him differently from the others. Because personally I've never seen her act very nervous around the others when she met them versus how she met Oscar, and she still does it to this day. What do you think?
I am soooooo late to answering these asks and this got sooooo long aha. Thank you for your patience. 🙇‍♀️
I have noticed that Ruby acts markedly different around Oscar than the others! And in my opinion, it is done with a great deal of intention. The thing with RG is that a lot of what makes the ship so strong is how subtle its writing is. So much of it is paralleled themes and a lot of it relies on an absence of something that is usually present. Often treating the absence itself as a presence of something to be paid attention to.
When we first meet Ruby in V1, she says she gets along better with weapons than she does with people. (Lol isn't it funny that Oscar's name means "God's Spear" haha. surely that has no correlation whatsoever... anyway).
When Ruby meets Weiss, she gets screamed at and makes a dust bomb explode in the courtyard, but by V2 so many of their conflicts are resolved and they've become rivals/besties/team partners.
When Ruby meets Blake, she's got her foot in her mouth and is super awkward... until there's an opportunity to connect with her about stories and fairytales. Then we see Ruby's earnest side come out and the anxiety in her pretty much disappears.
When Ruby meets Jaune, it's remarkably not awkward. Their shared social awkwardness and feelings of not belonging at Beacon cancel each other out and they're able to have a fairly normal conversation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very quickly through the early volumes, Ruby gets comfortable. As a leader, as part of her team, as a welcome part of their social circle. She's young, still optimistic and full of hope. She hasn't been given too much trauma or cause to question herself by that point. She has her moments, sure, but like a lot of kids that don't fit in much and aren't super social, she's actually really good at it once she's given the chance.
But when Ruby meets Oscar - while she has experienced some of the Horrors™ that have chipped away at her self confidence - she's not too different than usual. Not at first, anyway.
He comments on her eyes and she responds naturally by asking him who he is, she's able to be candid with her response when she's told he's carrying Oz around, and yeah she giggles a bit when they're all playing the 'getting to know you game', but she also smiles at him. Earnest, trying to make him feel at ease cause this situation is kind of weird for all of them. When they spar later, she's being a goofy kid. Sticking her tongue out at him, laughing while they throw and dodge punches, running to help him when he collapses, grabbing his wrist with very little hesitation to tug him towards the rest of the group. It's all fairly normal...
Tumblr media
...and then the Dojo Scene happens.
With the Dojo Scene, the narrative tone of their relationship is both established and changed. Ruby comes down the stairs and she's open, at first. But as they talk a bit more, her body language becomes more and more closed off the closer she gets to him. Clasping her hands in front of her when she asks a question about his past, then hugging herself as she dares to step a little closer to him, as if putting up some kind of protective barrier.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She tries complimenting his efforts, laughing a bit to hide her nervousness, is fairly candid, and makes a bit of a joke. But the joke reveals a wound of hers that hasn't healed yet and opens the conversation up to vulnerability. A vulnerability that Oscar points out immediately. One she has not spoken to anyone else about up until that point.
"How do you handle all of this?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ruby pauses. She's not used to talking to people about her problems. At first, I don't think she's even thinking about herself when he asks. She nudges him to clarify what he means and he opens up about his own fears, which prompts her routine song and dance that she gives to everyone. Uplifting words, holding onto hope, keep moving forward, just don't let the things that haunt you catch up and you'll be fine.
And Oscar doesn't accept it. He isn't moved by it. He's not comforted. He rejects it, questions it, and completely lashes out. Is actually angry that she's telling him to "just press on" in spite of those fears. Is angry on her behalf that she's not being honest about her own feelings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Ruby cracks. She actually opens up and talks to Oscar about all the grief she keeps buried down and doesn't burden anyone with. She might have argued to herself that it was the only way to make Oscar feel better, but it's uncharacteristic for her. She doesn't usually have to go that deep to cheer other people up. When she tells him about her losses and motivations, Oscar joins her in that open doorway, in shared vulnerability... and the moment she sees an opportunity to retreat, she takes it. Not used to this closeness in the slightest.
From then on out they're still friends, clearly. Their bond strengthened, if anything... but Ruby does not know how to handle him when he has such a skill for seeing through her in ways no one else ever seems to catch onto. She's able to push it away a bit when he's pre-occupied with something else. When he's worried about the merge or his mistakes in Atlas, or they're in a group conversation, she's able to act with some sense of normalcy... but when they're alone that awkwardness comes creeping back.
When WBY confront Ruby about her decision to keep the truth from Ironwood, Yang specifically asks how Oscar feels about it, and we see Ruby falter. This is a direct parallel to Bumbleby circa V8 when Yang is the one worrying about Blake thinking less of her for her own decision. We've seen Ruby disagree with people before and remain confident in her choice... but she questions herself here because of how much she values Oscar's opinion. And their disagreement colours more of her interactions with him throughout V7.
Tumblr media
When they're all practicing in the academy training rooms, Oscar comments on her semblance. Asking if she's always been able to do that, which is something he wouldn't ask if he didn't pay close enough attention to be able to notice such differences. She's laughing awkwardly, scratching the back of her head.
Tumblr media
And the fumble, when they finally come back together with renewed trust - that I already dove into a bit over in this post - she's still doing it!!
She is so excited to talk to him again, to not be at odds, that she almost runs directly into his back and is all flailing arms, and awkward giggles as she tries to tell him she agrees with him. When they finally establish that they're on the same page, she's hugging herself tight, rubbing her arm, looking away from him in her nervousness. Even when she walks away she's hugging herself again. Meanwhile, Oscar is all open body language, hand on hip, hand extended to her, active listening and receptive to what she has to say.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Interesting that this conversation's themes around choosing truth over fear calls back to the Dojo Scene so well, innit? 🤔
The last example I want to give isn't about Ruby. It's about Oscar. Throughout the show, he's always been a bit skittish, jumpy, and expressive with things like loud noises and - quite noticeably - touch. Oscar's been tackled to the ground by Nora in multiple hugs, tackled by the whole team in V6 after he went missing, scooped up by Jaune after he was kidnapped, and in all of those instances there has been a noticeable physical discomfort from him. Often a flinch or a wince beforehand, only relaxing into it after the surprise of the impact is over with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Ruby has put her hand on Oscar's shoulder multiple times (outside the Dojo Scene) without eliciting that response from him. One of those touches made him blush, if anything. And when Oscar returns from Salem's prison, beaten and covered in bruises. Ruby is running to hug him and not only does he not flinch, he smiles with open arms, completely ready for and accepting of it. And then the narrative robbed him of the chance 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ruby, despite her usual confidence, resolve, and unwillingness to talk about her issues, becomes nervous, awkward, and self conscious around Oscar. The absence of her usual demeanor becomes the presence of how much she values what Oscar thinks of her and how vulnerable he's able to make her feel. (Which, for a character as emotionally guarded as Ruby, is a good thing).
Similarly, Oscar's established pattern of resisting physical touch - even when he's injured and probably sporting a few broken ribs - is absent with Ruby. It becomes a presence instead of his comfort, trust, and (desire for) closeness to her.
While these examples aren't exhaustive, generally speaking, the absences of their usual behaviours around one another become the presence of something unique to their relationship and often serve to highlight their attachments to each other. Be it how they interact with each other directly... or how they act when they're apart. But that, my friends, is an entirely different post and I have rambled long enough for today.

How to Write Implied Smut
**Ironically, this article is somewhat NSFW**
So you want to write about sex without writing about sex. (Or maybe you don’t want to, but you need to, which is usually where I end up.) Some writers and readers love smut, and some don’t, which is totally valid. Or sometimes you’ve got a couple of characters who’d like to get it on, but your story guidelines require a SFW rating. Whatever the reasons for keeping things under cover (pun intended), here are some helpful hints about hinting:
Method 1: Read between the lines
In this approach, there are no sex scenes at all, no (heavy) kissing, no wandering around in nothing but your socks. You want the reader to know Jane and Betsy participate in a certain indoor sport together, but we’re not going to pop a single blouse button on-screen. Here are three ways to do it:
Situation-based clues include having Jane and Betsy share a room at a hotel, arrive at work or leave together, keep their stuff at each other’s houses, wear each other’s clothes, etc.
Other characters can assume Jane & Betsy are a couple, knowing that if you text one at three a.m. the other is likely to answer, or if you tell Jane something, Betsy will immediately know, or even blatantly stating they aren’t just roommates.
Jane and Betsy themselves can act like they’re lovers in a SFW way. G-rated signs of offscreen physical intimacy include sitting in each other’s laps, touching faces, briefly kissing on the mouth, and holding hands.
This “between the lines” method leaves the physical relationship entirely to the reader’s imagination. There are no hints of specifics in the bedroom, no scenes that will get your reader’s temperature rising. Perfect for some writers and readers. The next two methods have more heat.
Method 2: Kiss and don’t tell
This is what they call “closing the door.” Cue your characters kissing and then fade to black, and if you want to say what happens afterward, stick to general terms. You know, it was a very enjoyable evening, they got to know each other better, Jane learned what it was like to spend a night with Betsy.
You can also have Jane and Betsy wake up in bed together the next morning, possibly showing them zipping up their dresses or even searching for their dresses wherever they may have been flung off on the way to the bedroom. You can even hang handcuffs from the headboard—and guess what? That’s all still G-rated.
Example from my (rare) SFW works:
They touched as much as they liked then, with fingers and mouths certainly, but also with toes and ears and knees. They laughed and moaned and they learned how to be as close as two people could ever be to each other, not just touching anymore, but for many sparkling moments actually being one body.
–The Other Arrangement (one of my Good Omens fanfics)
Unlike the first method, this “close the door” bit leads the reader into thinking about the specific bedroom scenario you’ve set up, which they can imagine at any heat level they like—or not imagine it at all. (Not everybody wants to look through the keyhole.) The last method is a bit more, well, explicit.
Method three: Think hard—er, carefully—about word choice
How to say they’ve got erections without saying they’ve got erections:
“Oh,” said Aziraphale, in a brave voice, “and here I thought my enthusiasm was rather obvious.”
Crowley didn’t move, but the expression on his face suggested that he could feel exactly what Aziraphale was talking about, and that he knew Aziraphale could feel the same from him.
-The Angel’s Bracelet (oh wow more Good Omens).
Believe it or not, you can actually have SFW sex on-screen if you’re choosy with words. So hard becomes aroused, ass becomes rear, tits become chest. Don’t name any super-naughty body parts at all.
Terri was even softer and warmer than Heather had imagined, her curves unable to be contained by Heather’s small hands. Not that Heather didn’t try, and that was when they realized they probably should not be doing this in the library.
“You will let me take you on a real date, won’t you?” Terri asked, smoothing Heather’s hair where it had come loose from her bun.
“Well, what’s customary for a fifth date?” Heather asked, refastening two of Terri’s shirt buttons.
–Blind Date with a Book (wtf this is not Good Omens?!)
In this “word choice” method, the reader knows exactly what’s happening, but it’s still safe enough to be read in public. It’s like naughty art with careful blurring. This method can be satisfying for a reader who doesn’t want to have to imagine the rest of the scene, or at least wants to know how the writer imagined it. And it’s good for writers who want to obey the letter of the law while still showing a love scene (see how I used the SFW term for “sex scene”?).
Writing smut without smut is a good tool (pun intended sorry) for writers because it lets those who don’t want to write smut still convey high heat between their characters, and because it lets smut-comfortable writers reach SFW audiences. I often have two versions of stories I’m submitting, one explicit and one not, so I can try more markets.
Please note you should never send an explicit work to a submission call unless the guidelines specifically say it’s allowed, because some editors/slush readers don’t want to read smut. When in doubt, politely query first.
Anyway if you want to read some more of my non-fanfic smut go here.

Janis shows up drunk at Regina (or reader, depending on what you want ig) and she is just a really dumb drunk, and Regina takes care of her, pretending to be annoyed but finds her to be weirdly endearing and cuddly 🫶😭
It’s You That I’m Missing
Janis ‘Imi’ike x Regina George
Warnings: drinking, angst & fluff, coarse language
They no longer hate each other. But it still gives Regina a shock of her life that Janis shows up at her door, drunk off her ass
Tumblr media
Regina was sat before her vanity, doing her nightly skincare routine when she heard a string of obnoxiously loud knocks come from the foyer. She contemplated ignoring it, obviously not expecting anyone to be over at her place, at this hour of the night no less. It was nearly eleven.
The same string of knocks were heard again, followed by a, “Hello?”
Regina’s ears perked up as she sat up straight, squinting. Quickly, she stood up and peeked out the window. What on earth? She hurries downstairs to let the girl in. “Oh. Good, you’re home.” She laughs, evidently drunk.
“What are you doing here, Janis? Why are you alone?”
“I’m always alone.” Janis laughs again, dryly.
Regina squints, telling her to sit down. Janis plops down on the couch. “Where’s Damian?”
“He has the flu.” Janis answered airily, finger wagging around. Regina hesitated, but sat down anyway. “And where the hell did you go?” Regina says but quickly bites the inside of her cheek. “Nowhere. I drank—” Janis inhales sharply, “At home, then I came allll the way here.”
Regina asks, “Why?”
“I…I don’t know, Gina.” Janis sighs, throwing her head back against the headrest.
‘Shit’ Regina thought, ‘That nickname. I haven’t heard that in years.’
“I know we don’t hate each other anymore, but why did you just show up here like that? The girls don’t even do that.”
Janis groans, facepalming, “I don’t know. I don’t know…why I decided to come here. I was bored— then your address was somehow the only one I remembered.”
“What? Come on, you don’t have to lie.”
“Lie, for what?” Janis looks at her right in the eye, “You know what I don’t get? That I can’t seem to forget you calling me that fucking name in middle school for months. You knew it was wrong, and yet you did it. That is so fucked up— being a kid was no reason for you to do it.”
“Janis…I’m sorry.” Regina apologizes. She wasn’t even shocked.
“Yeah, it won’t cut it. It’ll always stick with me and it sucks because I have someone who loves me now and I love her. So damn much, but it still haunts me.”
That, shocked Regina. Regina didn’t know that Janis had been dating someone. You.
“You meant the world to me and you just became my biggest bully overnight.” Janis laughs at the end— a little thing she had when drunk. “But whatever right? Let bygones be bygones? Everybody loves you now, but yet people like me, like my girlfriend have to be so careful about where we go because some people hate people like us. “Janis, you don’t have to forgive me. But if there’s anyway I can make it up to you, please. Tell me.”
“There’s nothing you can do.” Janis answered bluntly, “I honestly don’t know why I came here…thinking things could somehow be different. But the truth is? Things will never be the same anymore. They haven’t been since the second you called me that name— along with everybody else.”
Regina was stunned into silence. She also recognised this behaviour of Janis’. How she’d avoid crying by laughing it off. “Me coming here was a mistake. I shouldn’t even be talking to you. I have y/n now.”
“Where is she?”
“That’s all you have to ask me?” Janis bites back a scoff.
“Why isn’t she taking care of you? You’re wandering the streets alone.”
“She couldn’t come over to my house. Her parents were arguing and she couldn’t leave.” Janis blinks profusely, “I should— I should probably go.”
Janis tries to stand up but Regina stops her. “No, stay here for a bit. Until you sober up.”
“Okay.” Janis pouts, snuggling up in a corner of the couch. Regina couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight, her heart melting. “Do you feel like you might throw up?”
“What?”
“Are you nauseous?” The blonde asks again.
“Ohh, yeah.” Janis realises.
“Alright, up we go.” Regina focused on getting her back on her feet and to the bathroom down the hall. They sit in silence for awhile. Until Janis threw up a bit. “My God, how much did you have to drink?”
“I…lost count.” Janis says, eyes drooping shut, “After three.” She holds up her three fingers in front of Regina’s face but she could barely hold her own head up.
‘Damn it.’ Regina sighs internally.
“I wanna sleeeeep.” Janis whines.
“Okay.” Regina helps her up and into her own bedroom. “Sleep.”
“In your bed?”
“Well, would you rather be on the floor?” Regina snarked unintentionally, catching herself too late, “What if you feel sick again and need to get up?”
“If you want me to sleep in the bed, I’ll sleep in the bed.” Janis didn’t put up too much of a fight anyway.
“Good.” Regina says flatly, “Just sleep.” Once Janis crawls under the covers, Regina does the same beside her, contemplating putting a bolster between them but Janis kept her distance and faced away already so she just allowed herself to start drifting off.
“Good night, Janis.”
“Night, Regina.” Janis murmured.
————
“Oh, God. I showed up at your door out of nowhere and you just let me sleepover?”
“Because it was late and you were drunk off your ass.” Regina reasoned, “Sit down and eat your breakfast.”
“Aw, you made me breakfast?” She teases.
“I can throw it away if you don’t want it.” Regina plays along.
“Didn’t say that.” Janis sulked and sat down at the table, “Thanks.”
What Janis told her last night wasn’t forgotten but she wasn’t going to bring it up again. Janis was now back to her usual self— she didn’t want to upset her again. All Regina could do from now on was to focus on being a better person and not hurt someone else again.
“Last night, you told me you were dating y/n. I didn’t ask, you just…told me. And if you didn’t want anyone to know—”
“Ah, it wasn’t like we were hiding it anyway. We just don’t really…do PDA.”
Regina nods, “How’s your head?”
“Feels like it could explode.” Janis jokes, shoving a forkful of pancakes into her mouth. “Take an Advil before you go. Do you want a ride?”
“Nope, thanks.”
“Do you need a ride?”
Janis glares at her, exhaling, “No. I’m gonna walk over to y/n’s after this.”
“Oh? She lives nearby?”
“Yes, she does, Regina.” Janis smirked, “I’m surprised you even knew who I was talking about.”
“I know people outside of my own circle, Janis.” Regina replies, feigning offence.
“Not that.” Janis stifles a laugh, “It’s just that she’s more of an introvert. She doesn’t really talk to that many people often. Obviously, you two haven’t talked.”
This was the most time the ex-best friends have spent together since middle school. It was bittersweet— Janis missed her best friend, someone who was hers, someone who she thought she could spend the rest of her life with. But what did little Janis know? Nothing much. Now older, she knew better than that. Some stuff’s just gotta hurt until it doesn’t anymore.
Regina misses her too, but knew after last night that she was definitely never getting that friendship back ever again. Life had to go on. But that didn’t mean that they couldn’t be on good terms now. Acquaintances.
After breakfast, Janis departs. “I’ll see you around, Janis.” Regina brings her to the foyer. “Yep.” Janis nodded, giving the girl a crooked smile, “Thanks for uh, watching out for me last night and breakfast.”
“You’re welcome.” Regina flashes her a similar smile. Regina hesitates, but Janis was engulfed in a hug eventually. After an initial shock, Janis hugs her back. “See you, Jay.”
“See you, Gina.”
With that, Regina watches the brunette leave before shutting the front door and continuing with her day. Her heart ached, but she also felt knowing that she had some sort of closure from the monstrosity of a situation back in middle school— she had a crystal clear understanding of where Janis stood regarding the situation and where she herself stood in Janis’ world. Nowhere like before, but now better than it has been for years.

Fight The Feeling Part 17- Babies & Puppies
Summary- You and Jack have some downtime after you gave birth to your daughter, and Jack ends up coming home with a puppy even though you have a three week old.
Tumblr media
The next couple of weeks were a whirlwind, everyone wanted to meet Madelyn, everyday you and Jack had family and friends coming over to meet her. Luckily, you had amazing friends and family who would help you out every time they came over. You and Jack did decide to introduce her to people slowly, more for your sake than hers.
Both you and Jack were slowly figuring out how to be parents, you were overwhelmed and stressed, plus you were recovering from a c-section which didn’t make anything easier. You were both exhausted, waking up several times a night to take care of Madelyn. After a few days of her being home, you and Jack, well Jack, moved her crib into your room to make it at least a little bit easier on the two of you.
Jack had not been back to his apartment since you two came home from the hospital, so essentially he was living with you. Madelyn was now three weeks old, you and Jack were finally getting into somewhat of a routine.
You had just got done feeding Madelyn, you were sitting on the couch, gently patting her back to burp her. Jack had just got done taking a quick shower before he joined you on the couch.
“How has she been?” Jack asked.
“Good, she ate, that’s all we’ve been up to out here, super exciting I know,” You joked and Jack laughed softly.
“Is she getting better at latching?” Jack asked, and you nodded. Madelyn had troubles breastfeeding and Jack wanted nothing else than to be able to help you, but there wasn’t much he could do.
“Yeah, she did really good this time,” You said as Madelyn started whining.
“Oh, I know, being a newborn is so difficult, isn’t it?” Jack asked Madelyn, reaching over to rub her back.
“I think it’s time for her nap,” You said, yawning. “Maybe mine too.”
“I’ll go put her down for her nap,” Jack took Madelyn out of your arms.
“Thank you,” You smiled tiredly.
“You don’t have to thank me, she’s mine, and you’re still recovering from your c-section, I’d be an asshole if I didn’t help you as much as I could.” Jack walked her into her nursery, getting her ready for her nap. Jack made sure she was asleep before he laid her in her crib and walked out of the room, back into the living room. While Madelyn slept in your room at night, you wanted to get her used to sleeping in her nursery, so if you weren’t holding her, then she napped in her crib.
“Do we have more diapers?” Jack asked, and you shook your head.
“Not in that size. Did she go through them already?” Jack nodded.
“Almost, I’ll go get some so we don’t run out. Are you okay if I leave? I’ll be quick, I can order them if not.”
“Jack, I’ll be fine, I’m just going to hang out on the couch, and she just got put down for a nap, I’ll probably end up falling asleep too.” Jack handed you the baby monitor before leaning down to kiss the top of your head.
“I’ll be quick, text me if you need anything. Love you.”
“Love you too.”
Jack got back to your apartment about 30 minutes later, a little longer than it should have taken, but you had fallen asleep so you didn’t notice. You were woken up to the sound of barking and Jack shushing the barking.
“You have got to be quiet, we discussed this in the car,” Jack said, and as confused as you were, you couldn’t help but laugh to yourself.
“Jack?” You called out, getting up from the couch.
“Shit.” You heard Jack scrambling in the entryway.
“Last time I checked, diapers don’t bark,” You said as Jack walked around the corner, a box of diapers in one hand, and a puppy in the other.
“Uhh, let me explain.” Jack set the diapers down. “There were someone selling puppies and I felt bad that she was the last one left, and I wanted to make sure she went to a good home. I know we have a newborn, and the last thing we need is a puppy on top of that, but I figured if we don’t keep her, we can at least make sure she gets a good home with one of our friends or families.” You watched as the puppy tried to wiggle out of Jack’s arms as he held her. “I’ll take complete care of her.”
“We’ll see how it goes. I can’t be upset when she’s this cute. Plus, I would have done the same thing. You can’t take her back, and honestly I think I’m too tired to be upset right now,” You laughed softly. The only reason you didn’t already have a dog was because of all the traveling, and you were going to be doing a lot less traveling for the time being.
“Thank god, I had already called Urban and told him he might have a dog tonight.” The dog finally wiggled free from Jack’s arms, running towards you on the couch. She put her front paws on your leg, giving you kisses and smelling you. Once she got bored, she got curious and started to explore the couch, running between you and Jack.
“Did you get any information about her?”
“She’s nine weeks old, she’s a poodle mix, she doesn’t have a name yet. I didn’t get much information. I’ll schedule her a vet appointment and have someone take her.” She whined, wanting to jump off the couch, but she was scared.
“Let me go close Madelyn’s door, then she can explore,” You said, and Jack immediately stood up.
“I got it.” Jack went into the nursery, checking on Madelyn before closing the door, the caramel colored dog wanting to follow Jack, whining at the edge of the couch.
“Oh, you’re already his little shadow, aren’t you?” You asked, and the dog looked at you, tilting her head. You gently petted her, and she calmed down, until Jack walked back into the room, then she was right back to the edge of the couch. “She already loves you.” Jack walked over to the couch and helped her down.
“Did she tell you that?” Jack joked.
“Maybe she did,” You and Jack both laughed. “I should probably order her some food, maybe a bed? Some toys? I haven’t taken care of a dog since my families dog, and my parents did most of the work.”
“Jack, have you ever taken care of a baby before three weeks ago?” Jack shook his head. “And we’re doing a good job now, so we can do this, I can almost guarantee a dog is going to be easier than a baby.” You looked over at the dog, who was now running around your apartment, smelling anything she could reach.
“Okay, you have a point.” Jack said, sitting down on the couch next to you. You both sat in silence for a moment before he looked over at you. “Are we absolutely crazy for having a puppy and a baby at the same time?”
“Maybe,” You said, looking over at Jack, “But we’re crazy together.”
Nothing had ever been easy for you and Jack, but at least this time your lives were becoming more difficult with babies and puppies.

Hii! Could I please, pretty please, ask for more metmorphmagus non-binary reader? I really loved your drabble!
this is my chance >:) i'm using this ask as my excuse to yap, yap, yap about being a genderqueer shape-shifter on halloween. genuinely my favorite thing that i've been thinking about for years, thank you for requesting darling <3 this got a touch steamy so i hope you don't mind and pleeeaasseee enjoy!
"a vampire needs their victim"
2.2k words, poly!marauders x reader, kind of bottom james, some making out and hickeys, underage drinking, consent!, reader generally having a very sexy, powerful vibe, doing a lot of flirting, showing skin and such, steamy fluff with a hint of angst!
Tumblr media
You plucked at the fishnets that covered your legs, glitter drifting off from the small movement. Looking into the mirror all you saw was gorgeousness, upon gorgeousness, upon gorgeousness. Deep red lips stretched into a wide, pointy grin across your face, your eyes sparkling in the most literal sense.
With ears stretched to a point, some creatively colored irises, and very sharp, very real fangs, you deemed your vampire costume ready. The way your skin glittered was less magical than your physical differences, but you felt delightfully alien. The mini-skit was skirting in the most boyish way, and your chest looked exactly how you liked it to. Your hair was delightfully androgynous, swept and layered to perfection.
A flash of insecurity washed over you as you glanced over your outfit one last time. So rarely did you feel you could present like this, not entirely a girl or boy, just because it was easier to stay one thing for other people. Easier for them, at least.
Your train of thought was quickly cut off, however, by a short knock on your door.
"Dovey, I hope you're ready because I've been sent to collect you naked or-"
James's eyes met yours as he slammed the door open, coming to a complete stop, stunned.
"Naked or not."
You giggled and did a spin for him as his gaze raked up and down your body. Finishing it off with a little pose and a kiss blown his way, you couldn't help but laugh again at your sweet, slack-jawed boy. His hands lifted and fell back to his sides before he blinked slowly and swallowed.
"You like?" You grinned at him, flashing your fangs. "Figured I'd go all out for once."
"Like? Dovey, this is..." He looked you up and down again before letting out a low whistle, placing one hand on his hip and the other to cover his mouth. You couldn't help but note how delightfully flustered he seemed. "Godric..."
"You look great too, Jamie."
Carefully, you slinked towards him and reached out to playfully brush off his very sweet looking Quidditch jersey. Paired with his goggles up on his forehead, the number from some Quidditch player he loved, and your compliment seemed to have gone completely ignored as his hands now migrated to your hips. You were taller than him for once, heels paired with a little morphing.
He eventually looked back up at you, stars in his eyes as he gently squeezed your hips. You smiled, taking his face in your hands to lean down to kiss his cheek. A dark red imprint stuck to his cheek and your smile only widened. Your pointer finger gently tapped his face.
"Are you still with me baby?"
"Nope." He now grinned, giddy as he slid his arms fully around you and leaned up to return your cheek kiss. "I've died and gone to heaven because you are absolutely stunning darling."
He continued to trail kisses down your jaw and to your neck before pulling you as close as possible and pressing his lips against yours. The sensation set a fire in you as you fervently began to kiss back. James whined as you dared to tug at his hair. With a little more pushing and feeling and touching, he ended up pressed against your wall as you sucked a dark hickey onto his neck.
His little noises continued to spur you on, his hands grasping at any part of you he could feel. As you left a gentle kiss on the first bruise, you pecked his lips playfully before beginning to work on a second.
"D-Dovey-" He sucked in a breath and squeezed at your hand, which had at some point found his, desperately trying to speak up. "They're waiting for us downstairs!"
"The party can wait another minute." You punctuated this by licking a stripe up the side of his neck to his ear. With a gentle nip at his earlobe, you whispered to him, "After all, what's a vampire without their victim?"
Tumblr media
After a full five minutes of waiting extremely patiently for his gorgeous partner and boyfriend, Sirius was just about ready to march up after you two and drag you down by the scruffs of your necks himself. The Halloween party was starting to kick into full swing and Remus had barely managed to keep him contained for that long, trying to convince him you were just finishing up your costume. Remus's case was helped by his very sexy doctor costume. (Note: This is just a normal doctor costume with Remus in it.) But despite his attempts to fill the time flattering Sirius over his marginally "sexier" pirate costume, his infamous impatience won out.
Sirius was convinced you'd captured James with your seductive wiles which is exactly as he would've done were he in your position.
However, theories aside, nothing could have prepared him for the mouth-watering sight presented to him.
You were pulling James downstairs with you, one arm tightly secured around his waist. He was wide-eyed and ruined and absolutely covered in your dark red lipstick, two hickeys with clear teeth marks (were those from fangs?-). His gorgeous hair was frizzed up, and overall he looked as though he just might drop to the ground if you weren't supporting him. A delectable sight to any man, but particularly to one Sirius Black.
You weren't much help to Sirius either, taller than usual, shaped like pure sex, covered in glitter, and all topped off with a devastatingly evil grin on your face. Red lipstick was smeared all over your chin and neck, giving the effect of fresh blood. The amount of skin on show was sinful. Confidence seeped off of you.
You just screamed... power.
Sirius actually felt his knees wobble beneath him.
You pressed a sweet kiss to James's temple as the both of you reached the bottom of the stairs and then sent a salacious wink over to Sirius, who had now grabbed onto Remus for support. (Remus was not faring much better than Sirius, floundering to compliment you but completely unable to find the words.)
One good look at the two of them broke your debonair confidence and sent you into a laughing fit, hiding your face in Jamie's shoulder. He couldn't be fonder of you in the moment though. He just continued to stare at you like a lovesick puppy. Remus eventually found his words and his lips quirked up into a awkward little smirk as he asked, "What's so funny, dove?"
"Nothing, nothing, I just-" A giggle interrupted your sentence, "I was going for gorgeous and seem to have overshot all the way to speechlessness. James was the same way when he got to my room!"
Sirius pulled James away from you, thumbing at the fresh bruises covering his jugular with his mouth completely agape. "James was alive when he got up to your room! What have you done to him love?"
"Victim!" James piped up, before shrinking back sheepishly at your laugh, "Vampire costume needs... needs a victim?"
"Godric, you've completely broken him. Captured him in your game of seduction you- you seductress!" He tilted James face side to side appreciatively, before turning back to you with a smirk. "Shit, when's my turn to get seduced?"
This made you laugh yet again as Remus grabbed your hand. He twirled you about to get a look at the full ensemble and nearly dragged you back up to their dorm when you blew him a fang-filled kiss. His soft grin was anything but innocent as he pulled you in for a deep, deep kiss.
And while you may not have known about the plan he was entertaining, you would've followed gladly had your moment not been interrupted by a screech.
"DAMN!" Marlene barreled into your torso just as you pulled away from Remus, one hand on a drink and the other on your waist as she spun you around. "Shit! Babes, you look fantastic holy fuck! Are these tossers appreciating you enough?! Fuck!"
She pulled you into her side as James muttered something about you feeling plenty appreciated, sending an defensive stare towards your boys.
"Sorry boys, this ones mine tonight. This is the hottest they've ever looked and that's on top of how they normally are. You can collect them later after I've paraded them about!"
She delightfully ignored Sirius's squawk and dragged you deeper into the now booming party with a great big grin. You sent your boys an apologetic one as Marlene began ensuring you were drinking your fill.
Tumblr media
With significantly more alcohol in your system, the confidence you had displayed when James barged in on you was beginning to affect those around you. Even beyond the fact that, with Marlene's dreadful influence, you were a flirty drunk, everyone seemed to be noticing just how much you glowed.
Remus was in complete awe. He'd never want to tell you how to look, but damn, if looking like this made you this delighted with yourself, he figured you should never go back. You were hot. You were illuminated. Joy and comfort radiated off of you and drew in every single person who saw you. He just wanted to keep you smiling like this forever, shining like a star in the sky. He caught up to you as you began to reapply your lipstick in the reflection of someone's mirrored sunglasses.
"Hey Dovey-"
"Remus!"
You abruptly interrupted your reapplication to pull him into a searing kiss. He barely managed to get his hands on your hips by the time you'd pulled back again, beaming at him. (Your new height made it delightful to look you in the eyes.)
"What'd you want, sexy?"
"Well," Then Remus took a pause to process that you'd called him sexy whilst looking the way you did, "I'm just checking in on you. How much've you had to drink, darling?"
"Plenty! Marlene keeps giving me these delicious little cocktails," You trailed a hand down his chest, not so subtlety feeling him up, "Not nearly so delicious as I'd bet you'd be."
This made him laugh and flush terribly, pulling you aside to sit with him in an arm chair. Better to keep you away from anymore alcohol then, at least until he could get you near some water. Like second nature, you settled into his lap. You traced a finger up and down his jaw as someone somewhere shouted loudly.
"Y'know we're completely taboo right?"
"What do you mean, dovey?"
"I mean, you're a werewolf." You were muttering to him, beginning to press sweet kisses to his jaw as you spoke. "I'm a vampire. It's horribly sensual."
"Alright," He pulled back with a roll of his eyes, gently cradling your face in his hands, "You're getting awfully touchy for someone who's too far gone to actually do anything tonight."
Your lovely pout was difficult not to kiss, but he kept his wits about him and brought his hands down to hold your own, then pressing kisses to your knuckles. This brought the smile back to your face, however, and you pressed yourself into him as much as you could.
James signaled him from across the room where he seemed to be managing an equally hammered Sirius, holding up a cup of water. Remus nodded him over while you muttered into his shoulder. He turned back to you, pressing a kiss to your temple as you continued to mutter.
"Didn't catch that dove," He whispered, "what'd you say?"
"Wish I could do this all the time..."
Remus's brows furrowed. "Getting wasted?"
"Being... being me."
He frowned now, watching as you began to fiddle with his doctors coat.
"I just-" A sigh escaped you and you smiled up at Remus. "It's exhausting playing one side of it all the time. And it's dreadfully embarrassing to explain it when I decide to be on the other side for once in a while, when really all I want to do is be... me."
"I'm... biologically, magically, it makes sense! I'm not one or the other, I'm more! I'm... I'm stardust and glitter and mixed up genes all stuck in one weird body. Why should I keep everyone else comfortable instead of keeping me happy?"
"Dovey..." Remus began, shifting you up to look you in the eyes. Your eyes continued to sparkle and shine like you'd wanted earlier, but were now watery. He cooed, swiping away one stray tear.
"I'm so happy right now Remus. I'm so happy."
"Then be happy, angel! Who cares what anyone else thinks, you look amazing and you look radiant. I don't think I've ever seen you look more yourself."
You tucked your chin into your chest and sniffled. He tutted, lifting your chin back up with his knuckle and sent you an encouraging smile.
"I'd personally love to see you like this more. You could turn into a little slug and I'd charge into battle for you if it made you happy. Because that's all we want. To see you happy."
Remus cooed as you sent him a watery smile and dove to give him the tightest hug you could. He squeezed back, trying to make you feel as safe and loved as possible.
"Hey, how's everybody over here?" James asked, smiling down at the sweet scene before him as he set your new water cup to the side, Sirius groaning into his shoulder. "All good?"
"All good James," Remus said, punctuating it with another squeeze to your shoulders.
"All good."

Faes/Half-fae reactions to you unknowingly confessing your feelings through fae traditions...Only to find out, you knew all along what you were doing:
LILIA
Lilia is amused. He considers for a moment explaining it to you but ends up against it to see how long it takes you before to figure it out. He finds your attempts, albeit if unintentional, adorable. He figures it's okay as long as he's the sole one you demonstrate those acts to. If not, he'll put a stop to it because even if he finds the whole situation humorous, he doesn't want you to get in trouble with another fae who might misunderstand it.
After he’s had his fun, he informs you. He has already had enough fun with you, to the point he feels a bit guilty that he found entertainment out of it.
“As much as I appreciate your sweet gestures, I think you don't quite get what you're actually implying in the language of my people,” He doesn’t bother holding his chuckle. “According to our tradition, this is how you profess your love to someone.”
“Because I am.”
It's a whole achievement to render Lilia speechless. For a good couple of seconds, his smile drops, and he gawks at you. A gawk which soon comes to an end before he laughs, his hands on his abdomen.
“What a flirty little thing you are, then! I must step up my game too, as well. It's not fair I haven't done anything for you yet,” He holds your hands, a playful glint behind his eyes. “Wait for my presents. I have lots to reciprocate.”
MALLEUS:
Malleus is fair enough to be considered a bit more merciful than Lilia, but he likes to make you guess.
“Do you know what these gifts entail in fae culture?” Amused, he expects eagerly your puzzled reaction so he can break the news to you.
Before you are given a chance to answer, Sebek rushes to Malleus's side to reprimand you.
“That's inappropriate, human! You can't just waltz in like you please and disturb Malleus with pointless proposals!”
All you have the energy for is to sigh and wait for Sebek to stop; there's no point in trying to rationalize with him when he's like this.
“Sebek, there's no need to get worked up over this. I was about to tell the prefect about these types of gifts,” Malleus's entertained no longer. “Now, prefect, do you get it?”
“I know what it means. That was the purpose of this visit.”
“...Pardon?”
You roll your eyes. “I'm baring my feelings for you with these fae courtship stuff, and you still don't get it?”
Malleus stares at you for a moment.
“...Sebek, I'll kindly ask you to leave the room for a moment.”
“M-My liege!?”
SEBEK
Sebek will be difficult. From the get-go, he'll tell (replace the t with a y) that his knightly duties allow no distractions, and that dating is in the far end of his priorities. His reaction whether he knows it’s on purpose or not is similar.
However, for some reason, you'll notice Sebek is a teeny bit gentler with you. He still speaks in his usual loud voice, but he looks out for you. He'll even come to your rescue if he catches other students picking on you...?
“You, there! You better not start any havoc within Diasomnia walls! And stop harassing the prefect! Pestering a prefect, really. You should be ashamed!”
He'll humph and walk away before you're given the chance to thank him.
It doesn’t matter if someone pesters you outside of Diasomnia's territory, he rummages for an excuse to intervene. Sometimes he'll proclaim that it's because a classroom is doing an exam and the bully disrupts their concentration, or because someone picks a fight in front of Malleus (Malleus's not even looking in this direction).
He’s easier to convince to help you if you need him to explain a topic to you from a class. If someone else were to do that, he would outright refuse. To you, he's more inclined to lend a hand, accompanied with passive-aggressive comments though...

Too close!
It’s the first thing Mozart thinks when he sees you in the kitchen, with Arthur right next to you. His arm is brushing against yours while you’re brewing coffee, using that flirtatious tone he always talks to you, and it drives the musician crazy. Yes, there are more people around; all the caffeine addicts are lurking, waiting to drink the delicious coffee you’re making. But Arthur...
Too damn close!
Mozart stands at the door frame, intently staring at your backs, throwing daggers at the scoundrel.
“Meine Liebe,” he calls to you, and with a few quick strides, he stands by your other side. “I smelled coffee.”
“Hi, Wolf!” you beam at him. “I’m almost done, and I was going to bring it to you with some chocolates.”
“I’ll wait here so we can go together,” he replies, putting his arm around your shoulders. He knows by Arthur’s smirking that he is just teasing and having a good laugh at his jealousy, but he can’t help it.
When you finally finish and everyone gets their share, dispersing throughout the mansion again, Mozart doesn’t even wait for you to get the tray. He grabs it himself with one hand, takes your hand with the other, and drags you to his bedroom. You don’t even question why you’re not going to his music room; you already know the answer to that.
Placing the tray on his desk, he guides you to sit on his bed. Before you can share the chocolate and the delicious coffee you always make, he needs reassurance. He sits down beside you, circles his arms around your middle, and then falls backward, pulling you with him. He stays like that for a while, his eyes closed and his hug tight, and you let out a soft laugh.
“What are you laughing at?” he pouts, a faint red painting his cheeks. He shoves his face into the crook of your neck to hide it, but to no avail since you already saw it.
“Nothing much. Just thinking about how lovely my boyfriend is,” you smile, reaching for his bangs and brushing them back so you can take a better look at his face. “Can I get us the coffee before it gets cold?”
He opens his arms to let you go, and you sit up with the intention of getting up to fetch the tray. Mozart looks at you from his lying position one more time, and the next second he hugs you again. You don’t have time to say anything; you just feel him pressing his lips hard against your hips, tickling you slightly. You look down at him, raising a questioning eyebrow.
“You’re mein Schatz,” he whispers, a soft pout still on his lips.
“Always, Wolf,” you say, reaching to caress his cheeks.
He responds with another kiss on your hips. Just to make sure.
