My BIG study tips (after 25 years of studying):

Accept your fate. This goes for anything but I used to procrastinate with studying a LOT and once you start it's actually not that bad. It's guaranteed. Automatically once you start, you have started, so you're already on your way, so it's already automatically not as bad anymore. Whining abt ur studies and avoiding them will not make them go away unfortunately. Just do it.

Make study time sacred. A few minutes of focused study is much more valuable than 5 hours spent at the library "studying" + scrolling + talking to friends + listening to music at the same time. Doing 5 hours like that is literally putting yourself thru hell because 1. you cant fully enjoy any of those non-studying activities and 2. you come out of that being like ugh I studied this page for 5 hours I'm tired of studying I need a break. Pomodoro method really changed my life pls try it out if u haven't already

That one tumblr post that says 'learning is basically being exposed to the same materials many times in multiple ways' is 100% correct. How many different ways can you expose yourself to the material. Memorizing facts- can you draw it? Can you organize the facts into lists? Can you attach a funny story to one of the facts? The more ways you interact with any material, the stronger it's saved in your memory. Find out if you're a visual learner- and then create visual tools, maybe color coding things helps you. Do a little digging and find out what works for you.

Diversify your life. Have some hobbies, spend time with friends/family, take a break. Let the computer of your brain sort out things in the background while you do other things. Once you go back to studying, you will feel refreshed (and not fatigued from 5 hrs in the library doing "studying") This also means that if you fail an exam, you won't be like 'oh no i spent my whole spring break studying for this exam and didn't even enjoy it and now I got a bad grade i must be horrible my life is nothing' and spiral. def not based on a true story :) Instead you'll be like yeah I failed but look at this scarf I crocheted look at mee i have mental health!

Sleep is magic- no matter what anyone else tries to tell you. 1. If you studied something during the day, just review those things right before bed and magically they will get set into your brain. Also 2. sleeping is when our brain sorts info so if you don't get any sleep at all it' the same as taking your study sheets and throwing them into the air, so when you ask your brain for the info during the test it's like lol it's around here somewhere. On the other hand, if you slept and gave ur brain time to sort it, when you ask for that info, it'll just open the right drawer and give u the info!

That's it for the big ones- if you want more specific advice feel free to ask! Also as a disclaimer, these 5 are all big life lessons that I had to learn thru trial and error, so consider these to be the advice I would give myself at a younger age. Pls don't be offended lol whenever I said 'you' I rlly was thinking abt myself.

There are not many times in which you find yourself busy and Austin stays home for the day to watch Luci. It’s a balance and trade off, for sure, but you’re a writer—there’s less chances for you to have to go in to work unless it’s table reads or drama. You like to be on set but are less needed when it comes to producers and directors, and you’re completely okay with that. It allows you to be home and present in your passion all at the same time.

You just feel lucky for the most part that you and Austin aren’t working on projects simultaneously. Don’t get it wrong, you do love that this whole writing thing has worked out for you. It’s just…with today, the only thing you hate is that you’re missing is that Austin is taking Luci to the zoo.

To be clear, you don’t exactly blame this decision—you and Austin had been planning on taking Luci there for a while now, she’s been learning all these animal names and noises and is super excited at treating the entire trip like a safari of some kind. When you get called in to work unexpectedly, you’re not about to ruin that trip for Luci even though Austin offers to go another day.

It's fine, there will be other zoo trips for sure, and besides,

“Work will definitely go a lot smoother if I got cute videos to look at while dealing with actors and script changes. I’ll be in a zoo of my own making.”

Austin smiles a little, rubbing the back of his neck, “Just doesn’t seem fair to you.”

You hum lightly, moving to place yourself on his lap as he sits on the couch, wrapping your arms around his shoulders, “What’s not fair is canceling this trip on Luci because I have to work.” You smile down at him as his hands slide up and down your thighs, “Besides, she’ll have more fun with you anyways.”

Austin rolls his eyes, squeezing your hips, “Don’t even say that.”

Smirking, you lean down to press your foreheads together briefly, “I might be able to show up for the tail-end if I get everything in order. Something to look forward to.”

You can tell Austin isn’t one hundred percent satisfied with that answer but because you’re willing to do it that way? He sighs and nods, hooking his finger underneath your chin to draw you into a kiss.

It’s not that Austin doesn’t think the whole zoo trip isn’t going to be a great day, he knows it will be (and it is), it’d just be more complete with you there. He sends copious amounts of videos to you as he and Luci make way through the zoo, pausing at different enclosures. He’s only recognized a handful of times by fans and all the interactions are decent, respectful of his space with his daughter. And his most entertaining reaction is someone asking ‘Is Y/N here too?’. He says no but snaps a selfie with them to text you,

Luci does a lot of investigative adventures with every animal she visits, so ready to ask questions and copy their sounds as much as she can. Very entertaining—he’s got an entire album collection of it at this point.

Right before the aquarium part of the zoo, Austin carries Luci into a gift shop on his shoulders so she can take a look around. Her arms are kinda tight around his neck every so often, but he doesn’t mind, holding her by the shins as she leans one way or another to point out stuffed animals to him.

“I think we should get mom somethin’.” He picks her up off his shoulders and holds her against his chest, her legs wrapping around his upper torso. “What do you think?”

Luci grins, that big cheesy one that always makes him chuckle, “Yessss.”

“Alright,” He presses a kiss to her cheek, “Which one?”

He picks up a few animals as they walk—a cow, a seal, a lion, Luci seems to love them all, but she doesn’t settle on any of them. Not until he picks up a panda, however, that one she reaches for instantly, squeezing it to her chest. He smirks, playfully tugging one of her pigtails that she has in because he’s gonna need that to check-out.

As they head out of the gift shop, if Austin had to guesstimate, Luci’s got about another good hour in her before she starts needing a nap—he hopes you’ll be able to make it before then.

You don’t exactly rush your time on set, but you’d be lying if you weren’t paying attention to the hours and minutes creeping by. You give yourself a limit in order to work everything out between directors and actors, knowing exactly when you should leave. It’ll be fine, you know it, and they can always call you back tomorrow. At the end of the day, it’s for the people on set to figure out—you can only give so much guidance.

The last series of texts and videos that you got from Austin were right outside the aquarium and you hope aren’t too late. While you love the updates? It’s nothing compared to seeing it in person.

Making your way to the zoo, you quickly park once you get there, paying for a ticket and making a b-line for the aquarium. Running a hand through your hair, you take a look around, everything covered in a soft blue light from the reflection of windows and water—has to be one of your favorite places to visit. When you were in high school, you wanted to work in an aquarium, become a marine biologist or something. God, if younger you could see you now.

You smile a little, rounding a corner and walking up a ramp, knowing the best way to do this is to start from top to bottom (best way to view the aquarium in your opinion). You’re about to text Austin when you turn a corner and see them, pausing to observe. Austin looks utterly beautiful underneath the soft blue waves of light, his eyes even a crisper shade than usual because of it. He’s standing against one of the glass windows with Luci in his arms, watching as she points out fish that swim by.

He grabs one of her hands at one point, kisses her knuckles, and then lets her go—talking with her about jellyfish, manta rays and sharks alike.

You swear your heart swells twice its normal size.

Austin turns a little to look behind him, mostly at the people who move past, but his gaze flutters up and he notices you. Always has been able to find you in a crowd. He smiles a little, offering a small wave even though Luci hasn’t seen you yet. He leans down and whispers in her ear and Luci brightens as she quickly turns around, squiggling to be put on the ground.

You can’t help but chuckle as Luci takes off in a sprint when she’s free…and then completely spills out by tripping on the carpet. This is definitely a typical occurrence, still trying to find her sea legs.

“Oh babe,” You say as she gets herself up but starts crying. You know it’s mostly out of shock rather than pain but Austin is quick to scoop her into his arms again as you approach.

“Quite a wipeout.” He says fondly, checking her hands and knees just in case she has any scrapes. Her tears are big and slightly dramatic as they roll down her cheeks, lower lip wobbling as she gulps air, “Hey, hey,” He croons, gently bouncing her against his side, “You’re alright, not a scratch.”

Austin makes a big production of kissing the back of her hands, blowing small raspberries into her forearms until she giggles. He’s really good at that, you realize, making her laugh. It just seems to be Austin; he always knows how to make you feel better too, even without trying very hard.

“There we go,” He smiles a little, “Want to give mama what we got her?”

You raise your eyebrows, “You got me something?” You smooth your hand through one of her pigtails, waiting for Austin to hand her the bag. Luci excitedly reaches inside and tugs out—

You gasp, reaching for it with bright eyes, “Oh my goodness! What is this?”

“A panda!” Luci exclaims, clearly very proud of the purchase. “See? It’s got spots momma.”

You let out a soft laugh because, of course, how could you have not known that? Austin grins and takes the bear for a moment, having it kiss your cheek. And then you can’t help but kiss him—far too quick but just enough. Luci reaches forward, interrupting the closeness between you and your husband, wanting to be held by you.

“Okay,” You laugh, taking her into your arms, “What do you want, troublemaker?”

“Fishies!” Luci declares, pointing over your shoulder, wanting to go see.

“Fishies?” You ask, grinning with a squeeze, looking over at Austin before moving forward, “What about jellies? Seahorses! Sea urchins—see any of those yet?”

Luci shakes her head but she’s definitely ready to explore. You set her on the ground and she takes off running again, eager to accept another adventure despite tumbling a few minutes earlier. You smile, your hand finding Austin’s effortlessly as your other holds onto the stuffed panda.

i havent seen the show in a while so what i remember is rusty and i dont think tim was rlly there a bunch so i only have like 3 hcs im srry BUT to make up for it i will go into depth about them kinda sorta, and by hcs i mean aspects of his character i liked in the show and just went “yea thats tim im including that in my tim most definitely” but i do have like 2 hcs

OK LOOK I LOVE THIS AS A FOIL RELATIONSHIP TO DARRY AND CURLY ITS GREAT, but HOW did they get close??? most likely after johnny and dallys deaths, pony spends more time w curly which means more time at curlys house which means seeing tim a lot more as well, at first tim would just pop in and go like “do yall want somethin to eat” and ofc pony was afraid at first but l as time went on, they just kinda clicked, maybe over art, bc each other using creativity as an outlet, or something or bc tim was like “o he is a bit fucked up actually” and took him under his wing

•hes somewhat involved w the curtis gang

mostly based off that one rumble episode, BUT i hc that after dallys death, tim became not close but definitely not a stranger to the curtis gang, he doesnt rlly hang out w them or anything like that, but he does see them quite a bit and talks to them, and especially teams up w them when they need it, think of tim as what dally was to the gang, the guy who came n went but was down w them, but in his own “yall cool but i got a gang to lead so ill help darry a bit when it comes to handlin yall” way if that makes any lick of sense

BUT FOR ACTUAL HCS OF MINE

•i hc that angela and curly werent there bc they were off w their grandma, y u ask??? man idk they love their grandma i guess who r we to judge

•perhaps it was around that time that angela and curly was gone that tim started getting closer to pony cause he kinda missed up and wanted someone to look after, he just got that “damn i need to b a guardian to a fucked up kid or else im gonna go insane my damn self” thing goin on and pony was there so

•i said it before but idc ill say it again, tims art is influenced by haitian art, maybe not like the style exactly, but the idea of it being vibrant, black ppl being shown using the actual color black, yknow that thing

•tim mostly draws ppl and landscapes, maybe he goes out of his way and draws like anatomy stuff wether its normal things or like horror

•he would never actually show his drawings to anyone, he rlly only shows pony it cause he knows pony wont judge, ofc angela and curly knows and have seen it but thats bc theyre nosey and poke around his things, he knows about it but they havent said anything so it’s whatever

Like- no matter how many heists he's been on with you, it always catches him off guard when you pull out a fucking flamethrower and torch anyone who gets in your way [including civilians if you're that careless] while rocking some Mary Janes and a cute pink skirt

If that's not the case and you're actually a lot more frail, then he'll pretty much be a human shield for you so that you don't die He'll be constantly screaming for a medic bag, but not for himself, but rather for you so that he makes sure that there's medical supplies at the ready if you get hurt

While off-duty, he just loves to spend time with you. Playing games, drawing, pretty much anything

You're always so bubbly and happy, even during his bad days you always manage to find a way to cheer him up and make him smile

Hoxton

Again, you're a little bundle of sunshine for Hoxton, but the difference is that he'll actually tease you about it

He'll often call you sweet nicknames, but the ones he calls you by most are 'Sunshine' and 'Sweetheart'

If you're struggling to do something like reach something on a high shelf or lift a heavy object, he'll end up doing it for you with a cheeky remark "Sweetheart, if you need a ladder then just call for me."

If you're extreme on the field, he'll try his best to lay off on the teasing so that he doesn't get a bullet right between the eyes "Hey Sweetcheeks, run a little faster would ya- okay okay I'm sorry please put the Garand away-"

If that's not the case, then he'll be pretty similar to Dallas. He'll do anything to make sure that you get hurt

If you so much as get a tear on one of your knee-highs or one of your accessories gets damaged, he'll murder the one who broke it and make sure to take it to Aldstone for fixing the second you get back from the heist

But on the more sweet side, he'll do his best to spend time with you. He'll drop anything and everything to join you if you're baking though

Either because your treats are really good or he doesn't trust you to not burn the safe house down

Houston

Houston can and will tease you about your height, and sometimes he’ll jokingly question the practicality of your fit during battle

If you’re an aggressive bean, he won’t hesitate to zip his mouth when you threateningly point your Commando-101 directly at him

If not, he’ll just continue with his teasing. In both situations, he’ll eventually tone down on the teasing, especially with your bubbly behavior

The sparkle in your eyes when something catches your attention, your genuine worry when he gets hurt, your enthusiasm to make sure he gets back into the game, gAHH someone please put this man into the freezer because he’s MELTED

Can and will find any excuse to hold you. Whether it be lifting you up to reach something high or carrying you to safety during a heist. Just seeing your small figure adorned in such adorable and bright clothes really makes his day

It’s like a big contrast compared to all the bloodshed and other horrifying things that he’s unfortunately gotten used to. You’re just his little marshmallow

Jimmy

Legit thought he was trippin when he saw you walk in wearing your bright pastel fit. Then again, he’s always trippin

But like- he was so confused. In a good way though? He was shocked to see such a contrast in what would usually a dumb and sober world.

For a minute he thought you were a hallucination from all the coke he’s been snorting, but eventually he finally gets the memo that you are indeed real

Jimmy legit thinks that you’re an angel or something, so that’s what he calls you.

If you’re a more chaotic one during heists, then he’ll refer to you as Guardian Angel and help you slay all the cops

If that’s not the case, he does his damnedest to protect you from harm’s way. If you or even your outfit gets damaged, he immediately goes ham

This applies to the rest of the gang too. If they harm you emotionally or physically then he WILL throw hands

Sokol

“Why are you dressed up like little baby?” Was the first thing he said to you. He was so confused about your attire, and your behavior confused him more

How the fuck can you stay so cheerful while you’re stealing nuclear weapons??

At some point, he starts to appreciate your optimism, as it helps to get through heists and life in general. Hell, he might even join you in the encouragement

He’s still confused about the clothes though, and he’ll keep asking about it too. If you end up taking his words personally, he’ll fucking PANIC and do anything to make you feel better

The second he saw tears his mind went into ‘oh my god the world is ending’ mode and frantically attempted to make you feel better [which he did]

Though still not understanding the whole fashion thing, he does his best not to ask about it any further

Taser

Istg Taser is like a fucking 4 year old so when he seed you wearing those adorable strawberry themed clothes and shoes he just can’t help but bombard you with compliments

He’ll put you in all sorts of pastel outfits, a lot of them with lightning bolt themes, and this mf will just swoon when he sees you in it. He’ll die [/pos] if you wear it more often

You are the one thing that keeps this man from going insane and torching down the entire police force

When he's having a hard day, all he has to do is look at you and whoops the pain is gone

Weak or strong, he'll make sure to be behind you for most of the battle. Sure there's other units in need of healing but you're top priority

He'll go Cloaker feral if anyone [especially the Payday gang] hurts you or even does so much as get their filthy hands on your awesome fit

He'll be the one to wash and/or repair your outfits because oh my god your clothes look expensive, but not in a fancy way. More of a "I spent 100 bucks on Shein to get all of this shit"

Hmm, my fav character from House of the Dragon. I find all the characters so incredibly complex and layered that I actually love them all so much. I think my all-time favourite is definitely Rhaenyra. She is just so fascinating and she's been through so much and I just adore her with all my heart. Like I'm aware she's not perfect and that she does questionable things in both the books and show but I just love her so much lol. I support women's rights, but most of all I support women's wrongs, and Imma support ALL that woman's wrongs 🤭🤭

I also find Alicent so fascinating. Young show Alicent is so young and she goes through so so much and my heart aches for her, and even though I don't love all the choices adult Alicent makes, I can't hate her either because she is just a product of her environment and an accumulation of her tragic experiences. It makes sense for her to be the way she is and honestly, I can understand her resentment for Rhaenyra. I mean if I went through what she did, and then I see someone I grew up with get to do whatever she wants without consequences while I have to put up with my shitty 100+ yr old rotting husband while she has like 2 of the hottest dudes in the kingdom, I'd be pretty jealous and resentful too. So yea I just find her so fascinating and I love doing like character analyses on her.

Honourable mentions go to Harwin, we love a king who supports his princess without wanting anything for it. The parallels he draws with Ser Criston Cole (I rlly hate him lol) are so immaculate. Crispy Cole has a huge hissy fit when Rhaenyra doesn't drop the crown and goes to sell oranges with him or something, while Harwin is perfectly content being her side piece. But like on a serious note, his love for Rhaenyra is enough for him and he doesn't need to be formally acknowledged as his boys' father or Rhaenyra's baby daddy. He is just content with the little pieces of her that he gets to have and I think its so tragically beautiful. Also Daemon, my fav war criminal 🫶 I know he's done atrocious things, and he will continue to do so and I will not defend him saying that he didn't do anything wrong lol. I just vibe with him cuz he's incredibly loyal to his family and we love a family man devoted to his wife (I pretend the choking scene did not happen, I'm delulu like that 🤡). Also love Rhaenyra's kiddos. They're so wholesome and sweet. Sweet sweet Luke and responsible Jace. I have so much to say about them oh gosh I've rambled here enough, you asked me my fav character and I went on like 3 different tangents on all my fav characters. But yea, every single one of these characters have such a special place in my heart, i love them all for various reasons, tea black and green both (I fkn hate Otto and Crisoy Cole tho).

Also omg parents, I want Daemon and Rhaenyra tooo for sure. First of all so I can have Jace, Luke, and Joffrey as my brothers cuz that would be soo nice but also can you imagine having Daemon targaryen as your fkn dad. Gosh the power you would hold. I wanna be Daemon and Rhaenyra's babygirl 😭😭 And that entire family unit is so cool, all their kids/half-kids/step-kids are so cool and it would be amazing to be part of that family. Also i think they're a relatively happy family (until the war lol). Like I def wouldn't wanna be Alicent+Viserys's kid lol. Not because I have anything against them (I have issues with Vizzy T but thats a matter for another time), but they're just so dysfunctional lol. That's mommy issues + daddy issues + all sorts of issues waiting to happen lmfao.
