Of course, the day you met the prettiest girl possibly in the whole entire world. You were also in a shootout with a spy.
Okay, yes, the spy and the girl are one in the same, but you get my point.
"How long ago was the guy here?"
"I-uh.." Since Nat's hands and sweet voice were all over and around your body, you truly lost any concept of time.
Nat ignored your non-answer as she looks out the window where her sniper is positioned before turning to you with a worried look.
"Y/N GET DOWN!"
You barely had time to move your body before the windows next to Nat exploded, sending you, her, and pieces of glass flying everywhere. Her body lands on its back in front of yours. New forming cuts already on her face. "Nat?!" You asked, sounding muffled due to the ringing in your ears.
Shit, a lot of you will hurt tomorrow if you get through this.
"Ow.." Nat blinks, her eyes opening as she wipes the blood from her forehead. Before she looks you over, making sure you're not harmed. "I gotta say that looks a lot cooler in the movies." You state.
"Yeah, I know." As if Natasha watches anything but classic James Bond. "Okay, Y/N, listen to me." She gets up on her knees in front of you but keeps you down low to the floor. Her hand on your back provides you with reassurance. Plus, it feels nice.
Should I tell her that my throat needs to be reassured?
"They blew out the windows because they saw me. If I know them.. and I do. They're about to send in smoke bombs. Try and flush us out. Whatever you do, regulate your breathing. Okay. In fact..." Nat keeps the two of you low but begins to move you both back to the kitchen. "Here." She grabs her bag off the counter and throws it down. Nat reaches into a side pocket and pulls out a hard mask.
"Come here." Nat motions you to come closer, and like a good girl, you do. "You're going to wear this." Nat quickly wraps the mask around your face. "As you can tell, your vision will be slightly askew, but your breathing will be fine as long as you..." Nat trails as she raises her eyebrow.
Fuck she's so fucking calm right now, and it looks so fucking hot on her- oh, she's staring at me. Oh, uhhh-
"Keep my breathing regulated?" You answer, which earns a proud smile from Nat. "Yep. Good job." I am a good girl. You think with a smile.
"Wait!" You grab onto Nat's arm. She stops rummaging through the bag to look at you. "What about you? Do you have a mask?" Nat shakes her head at you. "I only have one. But don't worry." She smiles. "I've dealt with far worse."
Nat pulls out a pistol you hadn't seen before. She looks up and onto the dining room table. You follow her eyesight. The small silver discs. "I can grab them."
"No, wait!"
You go to reach forward but get yanked back by Nat. A sniper shot rings out, the bullet going through the wood right where your hand would've been. "You okay?" She asks with a soft gaze, looking into your mask. You nod, even though you're growing more scared by the minute. "Shit, they have more than I thought." Nat rubs her hand up and down your back while she thinks. You believe this action to be absent-minded. But Natasha knows you are scared. The last thing she needs is for you to be scared and get hurt or, worse, killed.
So she's thinking of you first.
"Why haven't they fired the gas yet?" You ask. Nat looks at you before looking at the window. "They're playing a game. Shit.." Nat bites her lip and thinks.
You see her biting her lip, and you start thinking, too.
But you both aren't thinking remotely the same things.
"They're trying to draw you out. They know you're here with me." Nat looks at you. "Give me your hand." You hold it out for her as she takes your wrist and gently places the pistol she had behind her back in your hand.
"This is a Beretta 92. It's a very accurate close-range weapon. Okay? Keep it low. Away from yourself and me."
"What, Nat, I can't-"
"It holds 15 rounds. When the magazine empties, this thing will slide lock back like this." She shows you. Keeping her eyes on you instead of the gun. You look at her as she repeats the action.
"Natalie, I don't think I can do this."
"Natasha." She replies.
"What?" You tilt your head, confused. "Natalie is a cover. Natasha is my real name."
Unbeknownst to you is that Natasha still wasn't even her legal name.
You don't miss a beat before replying with: "You look prettier as a Natasha anyways."
"Really flirting? Now?" You shrug. "I've been flirting all along. It's about time you caught on." Even though you most certainly HAVE NOT been flirting this whole time. "So, is that what you call it?"
Natasha wins this battle.
"Look at the gun, Y/N." She coos you. You move your eyes to the gun as Nat holds your hand with hers. Showing you the first few steps again.
"Okay, now to reload-"
Nat gets interrupted as three canisters shoot through the broken windows. The second they land, they start leaking smoke. "Don't be scared." You go to argue that you're not, but with a smile, Nat raises her eyebrows, earning a scoff from you. Sassy even in a life-or-death situation.
"Okay, to reload. Push this down." She begins to talk faster as you both can sense that instruction time will be over soon. So she pushes your hand. "The empty mag will fall out, and then you shove the other one in. Like replacing batteries in a flashlight. Okay?" She asks as the smoke creeps into the kitchen. You nod, feeling the weight of the gun in your hand when Nat removes hers.
"Nat, I don't think I can do this. Shooting people." You clarify. Nat turns and looks into your eyes as the sound of men marching up your apartment building becomes louder and louder. "Okay, Y/N, listen to me." She grabs the sides of your mask so you can look into her emerald eyes.
Okay, how is she hotter now that she's covered in bruises and blood? Will I look hotter if I'm covered in bruises and blood?
Should I ask?
"Y/N, listen to me! These men are coming in here to kill you and me. I will do everything in my power to protect you, but in the event that I'm not able to, I'm trusting you to be able to defend yourself. Okay? Don't use it unless you have to." You nod with a dumb grin on your face that, thankfully, Natasha could not see, or else she would think you really were hopeless. "Most importantly, don't move unless I tell you to. Please don't do anything besides shoot this gun unless I tell you to. I say duck, what do you do?"
"Duck... Goose." You joke, but before Natasha could scold you, the front door to the apartment flies off its hinges. However, thankfully, the smoke has now possessed the room, covering for you and Natasha...
...Natasha?
You look to your right to see no one next to you.
Great, even in a shootout, you can't keep a girl.
You sigh and stay still as heavy footsteps are heard entering the apartment. You do your best to count, and you assume five men are now here to kill you. You stay still on the floor in the corner of the kitchen when you hear one of the men speak up. "Come on out with your friend, little widow! We promise not to hurt her."
You rolled your eyes through the mask, and that's when you heard two shots being fired off before a loud thud hit the floor across the apartment.
"How did she do that?!" You hear a heavily accented man yell before a multitude of bullets are fired from an automatic weapon.
However, instead of Natasha getting hit, she jumps up off the coffee table in the middle of the living room and knees one of the men in the nose. Making him stagger back in pain, leaving him little time to think as she attaches a widow bite disc to the man, shocking him to the floor but not before grabbing his pistol and aiming it at the other man in the room, sending one shot to his thigh and the other to his left shoulder before she empties the magazine and throws the pistol at the guy's face knocking him out.
Two more men to go.
Lucky for Natasha, the shooting and her elegant, quick movements confused the last two dummies. Plus, with their own smoke, it makes it impossible to see someone as highly trained as The Black Widow.
You nearly jump when Natasha slides on the kitchen floor before you. You go to speak, but Natasha signals with her hands to zip it.
You nod and try to think about how good she looks, kicking these guy's ass.
Natasha puts a hand in front of your face, making you focus up. You okay? She asks with her hands. You nod, making the redhead spy smile.
A genuine smile, too.
And even though she said it earlier, that's when you truly realize that Natasha is protecting you. Whether it's her job or not, you like to believe it's because she cares for you. Even if just a little bit.
Your beliefs would be correct.
However, before you could ask Natasha if she was doing okay or what her favorite color is, you watch her take off running. The smoke in the room shoots out and away from Natasha. You watch in amazement as Natasha jumps and wraps her legs around a man's head before spinning the top half of her body around, sending the man head first into the floor. His nose breaking on impact. Her landing on her feet.
Is it weird that you want that done to you?
"Your friends are taken care of. So I suggest you come out and let me kick your ass too." Natasha speaks aloud with her back facing you to the last man standing as the smoke in the room clears.
You stand up from the ground and take a step towards Nat. The gun still tightly gripped in your hand. Your eyes remain on Natasha as she starts to walk back towards you; however, before she turns around, your body gets hit with a force from the side. Launching your head into the cabinets to your left.
"Ow fucker!" You yell!
The crashing sound and your curse alerting Natasha. The larger man places his hand on your mask and pushes your head into the cabinet again, this time making it bleed as his other hand reaches for your gun. "Give up!" He yells before removing his hand from your mask to punch you in the side of your body. You groan and stumble.
He reels back to hit you again, but instead, Natasha rips the gun from your hand with efficiency and pistol whips the man in the face, sending him flying back. The man yells in pain as he readies himself to fight, but Natasha is fast. She runs and kicks the guy in his ankle, making him fall to his knee. She smirks as he yells out in pain before she double kicks him in the throat, making him fall as he begins to choke.
Before anger entirely overtakes Natasha, she hears you crash to the floor behind her. When Natasha turns around, she sees blood on the sides of the counter.
"Y/N!" Natasha runs to your side and drops the gun next to the two of you. Instantly, she's ripping the gas mask off of you and turning your head. "Let me see." She gingerly pulls your chin, making you look away so she can examine the extent of your head injury. "It doesn't look deep. But we need to stop the bleeding."
Natasha quickly looks around the damaged kitchen before finding a forgotten rag. She places it on your head and hates how you wince in pain.
"Keep your hand here." Natasha takes your left hand and places it over the rag over the cut. "Be honest.." You start as Natasha looks over the rest of you.
"Do I look cool or like dogshit?"
Natasha's lips crack into a smile at your joke. "You look so cool," Natasha says, whether it was true or not. "You took some hits, too. Impressive." Natasha says with a smile. "Yeah, well, someone didn't yell Goose." You playfully hit Natasha's leg with your foot.
"Next time." She says.
"Oh! Next time?" You say and continue. "Planning on our next date being another shootout?" You raise an eyebrow but wince when you move your head a bit too much at the moment, saving Natasha from seeing her blush.
"Who said anything about a date?" Natasha quips. You knew it was coming, but you still had a smile. "You're right. I guess shootouts aren't a good date idea. I'll pick something better for, let's say... Friday?" You laughed at your own joke per usual, but ended up coughing in pain. Not per usual.
Natasha's hands immediately went to the hem of your shirt before you reacted. "Hey. What did I say? We haven't had our date yet." Natasha thought it was cute but still rolled her eyes. "I need to check to ensure you're not bleeding internally."
"Can you really tell?" You questioned. "No. But I know a thing or two more than you, so let me look." She had you there. So, with your permission, Natasha slowly lifted your shirt but made a face when she saw your red skin already bruising and enlarging. "It's not awful, but it's going to hurt a lot before it gets better."
Natasha places her hand over the area and begins to rub. "Does it hurt here?" She lays a small out of pressure, forcing you to nod in pain. "Not at all." You whine and clench your jaw. "Okay... I'm going to call this in. Get us evac'd."
Your eyes widened not because of Natasha's words but because of the guy behind Natasha. Yes, the one she kicked in the throat started to get up. "Natasha..." You said, making her look into your eyes. "What's wrong?"
She noticed how you looked.
Natasha turned behind her to see the man perched up on his good knee. Gun in hand. She immediately puts her body directly in front of yours.
"Step aside, widow. Let me kill this one without trouble."
"Not going to let that happen." Natasha reached behind her and expertly grabbed the gun she gave you earlier from the floor and pulled it in front of her, not wasting another breath as she fired the weapon twice—one into the man's chest and the other directly into the man's head.
From her crouched position, she got up with precision and made it to the man on the floor. She kicked the smoking gun out of his hand and made sure he was... Wait- smoking gun?
Natasha looked from the gun to you.
Fear ran through her body as she saw your figure slumped over on the floor in a bigger pool of your own blood.
Natasha would've ran to your body if this would've been her first time in a position like this, but it wasn't. She had saved countless people before, and she was not about to lose you!
So Natasha ran to her bag and rifled through a side pocket until she found her phone and a needle of Tetrodotoxin B. A drug developed by Bruce Banner with the idea of slowing his heart rate to one beat per minute. Natasha didn't know if it worked on Bruce or not, but she knew SHEILD had it for some reason.
Right now, that reason was going to be you.
As Natasha flicked the end of the needle and pulled your arm out in front of you, she called Clint on speaker phone. "Sorry if this hurts," Natasha said to your now unconscious body. Her eyes watering.
"Hello?"
"Go secure!" Natasha yelled as she sat your body up and ripped off the right half of your shirt to examine your bullet wound.
"Secure," Clint replied. "Shit!" Natasha replied, confusing the bow and arrow man. "Natasha?"
Nat looked at your head wound and the rest of your body. The Banner drug was going to help keep you alive, but you were still losing blood.
Natasha hated everything about this moment.
Ups and downs. The day Natasha met someone who didn't know who she was. The day she could actually see herself being around someone was also the day they were bleeding out in front of her.
"I need evac! Safehouse A is blown. Got caught up in a shoot out, and Y/N is hit."
She got up and went to look for whatever medical supplies she had in addition to any extra clothes to get you changed and wrapped your wound.
"Y/N?" Clint questioned. "Like the Golden retriever? The neighbor from across the hall?"
"Yep! She's not going to make it unless you send someone right now, Clint."Natasha didn't want to believe her words. Barton, for one thing, couldn't.
"Are you serious?"
"Serious as a God falling from the sky."
"Go to safe house B. Evac is on the way."
With that, the line clicked, and the call ended. Natasha did her best to dress your injuries before the only thing she was doing was watching how slow your breathing had become...

You woke up to bright lights above you and a horrible feeling in your nose... and head.... and shoulder... and side. Wow!
Wow.
Okay, so you actually had this horrible feeling called pain all over you.
You tried lifting your head to look around, but it felt like a ton of bricks was pushing on your skull. But you pushed through and found a short brown-haired man sitting in a chair by the only door in or out. "Who the fuck was he?" You thought and tried to speak, but your throat was too scratchy to say anything, making you cough.
The man in the chair looked up at the noise and noticed you.
He sent a quick message on his phone before closing it. He got up from his lazy position, running to your bedside table, and filled up a tiny paper cup full of water. "Here." He said as he held it in front of your lips.
You don't know if he didn't trust you or if your hands/arms were too weak. You didn't want to find out, so you took a sip from the cup and let the cold water run down your burning throat. "Thank you."
"Welcome." Silence. "Natasha should be down here soon. I let her know you woke up." You tilted your head and looked over the man, slightly nodding. "So you're Y/N?" He already knew, but Clint was happy he could talk to someone new for a change. Even if he did talk like an uncle, you don't see but once every couple of years.
"Where am I?" You ignored the man walking back to the chair near the door and asked.
"You're safe if that's your concern." He spoke, but you just sighed. "Anytime a woman is alone in a room with a man and he says something like that. It doesn't make her feel safe."
Clint bit his lip as he listened to your words before nodding along. "Can't argue with that." Clint got up again from the chair and made his way to you. Making you jump and look him over. "I'm Clint. I'm the one Natasha spoke to on the phone." You remembered the phone call before the windows blew out, but not much after getting your head thrown into a kitchen cabinet.
"Hi, Clint. Are you going to tell me where I am?" You asked in a tone more annoyed off than friendly. Clint smiled. "I see why Natasha likes you."
Now that got you interested!
But before you or Uncle Clint could say anything else, the door opened, and in ran Natasha. Her cuts are all covered by bandages, and her face clean from a shower. "How long has she been up?" Natasha passed her friend, stopping to stand next to you.
"I let you know the second she did." Clint smiled at you and Natasha. "I'll leave you to it." Natasha thanked Clint, and the two of you watched him leave the room.
"You probably feel like shit huh?" Natasha questioned, but as she reached to move a hair from your face, you backed away. Natasha didn't understand why. "Y/N?" She asked.
"Who are you?" You asked, making Natasha's jaw drop before she quickly recovered. Helen didn't mention any memory loss. Natasha looked away, a little hurt that this might be the case, but when she looked back, she saw you smiling. Teeth sinking into your bottom lip. Holding in a laugh.
Natasha figured it out.
"Fuck you!"
"I got you!" You laughed and cheered before wincing in pain and coughing. Making Natasha smile at the instant karma while getting you a cup of water. "Serves you right."
She held the cup up to your pink lips and watched a little spill out the corners of your mouth. She watched a droplet slide down your throat and disappear into your gown.
Your voice bringing Natasha back. "I just lived through many movie cliches. I HAD to do this one." You said, making Natasha smile and nod to you before she sat at the edge in the middle of the bed.
Natasha wanted to reach for your hand as silence enveloped the two of you. She wanted to tell you how close you were to dying or how scared she was. But Natasha didn't reach for your hand.
Instead, you reached for hers. 
"You know if a hot spy is going to come into my hospital room in an unknown location, the least she could do is hold my hand."
That made Natasha Romanoff blush.
"Hot spy, huh?" Natasha teased, but you just nodded, feeling confident. "Look in a mirror, Natasha." Natasha laughed. "Sometimes you really just don't stop flirting." That made you smile. Natasha didn't say it was lousy flirting. "Just wait till we start dating."
"Oh?" Natasha raised her eyebrow but hit back a smile. "Is that what we're going to do?"
"Yeah, remember, shootouts don't count. So Friday, you and I are going out." Natasha shook her head but didn't disagree. "You don't even know what day it is." That was true. "Friday...?" You looked at Natasha with hope, but she shook her head again. "Nope. Besides. I like it went my dates aren't still in a hospital bed." You sighed but internally screamed at Natasha, flirting back. Natasha watched you before turning away. Her thumb rubbed over yours.
"Hey.." Natasha started making you look at her. "I- I'm sorry for getting you involved in my mess. You-" Natasha stopped and pulled her hand away to rub her face. "You almost died because of me." Natasha felt guilty. She should've kicked you out the second you weren't a threat. Instead, she liked having your company. In the minutes you spent in Natasha's presence, she wanted to keep you around.
"Natasha." You reached out for her hand again and was surprised when she gave it to you. But you still pulled her hand, making her look to you. Her green eyes shining. You nodded for Natasha to scoot closer.
She did.
"Don't blame yourself." Natasha went to open her mouth, but you interrupted her. "There's no doubt I would be dead if you hadn't been there. Besides... I'm the curious one. I knocked on your door. I wanted to get to know you. I stuck around because I wanted to. My body hurts like hell. But I'm alive because of you."
Natasha didn't look entirely convinced, but that would come in time. It was sad to see this badass person beat herself up over something that wasn't your fault or hers. It just happened because of horrible people. "Can you at least do me something?" Natasha tilted her head. "What?"
"Can you at least tell yourself that you saved me?" That sounded like a big ask at the moment but not as big as the next thing. "And! Tell me that you actually enjoy my flirting because it's only going to get worse." That made Natasha throw her head back and laugh, making you smile.
You were so focused on Natasha that you didn't see the room door open.
"Oh wow, never thought I'd see the day. Natasha Romanoff laughing! Time!?!" The man with a striking anchor beard and a Tom Ford suit called out as he walked closer to the bed you laid in.
"Good to see you awake. It's nice to put a name to the face of my almost-dead Budapest employee."
Tony Stark looked you over as sassy as the man is known for before looking at Natasha, who was internally scolding him for mispronouncing Budapesht.
"Quite a catch, that one. So what's the diagnosis?! How long we got?" He picked up your chart and began flipping through paperwork he should not be looking at before Natasha took it. "Tony..." She sounded exhausted already. "What are you doing here?"
"I told you." He said, looking upset that your chart got taken away from him. "I came to see who was moving in."
If Tony Stark. Your boss. Who also happens to have a hobby of flying around in a gold and red suit wasn't shocking enough to you than that last sentence that he said was.
"Moving in?!?" You asked, shocked. Ton- Mr. Stark- no Iron Man..?! What were you supposed to call him?!
Mr. Tony Man looked from you to Natasha before saying: "Looks like you didn't tell the Misses." This made Natasha get up and grab the not-so-tin man by his collar, whispering methods of torture she would use if he didn't leave the two of you alone.
"I expect to see you at work once you make a full recovery!" Tony yelled and pointed at you before the redhead slammed the door in his face.
Natasha composed herself before turning to you, still wearing a shocked face. "Moving in?!?" You asked again. Natasha nodded as she walked to you. "Yes. We-" She sighed. "I thought it would be the safest option for you. Plus, you can recover here. You're back in the States." Natasha's words fell on the quiet side before she sat on the bed.
Closer to you this time. "I can think of a few other reasons.." You look at Natasha and smiled.
"You don't have to. If you want to leave or go back to Budapesht, I understand." Natasha wants you to know that there is no pressure to stay. But you already know this. If you wanted to get up right now and leave, Natasha would probably let you.
"Staying might be nice."
"Yeah?" Natasha looks hopeful. "Yeah." Natasha smiles and reaches her hand to your face. Moving a stray hair back behind your ear. "If you do stay, that means I can tell you the best part."
"Oh yeah? What's that?" You curiously ask as Natasha looks at you like she's got some big secret.
"I'd be your neighbor across the hall."
You were free to leave the hospital bed 4 days later.
The next day you moved in right across from Natasha Romanoff.
A week later you took her on a date.

Dark rise 3 theories
Just finished the first and second book in one go, and want to write down my raw theories, until I forgot them.
Sun King is BAD (shock to no one). A pretty obvious one tbh — we never saw his face, Sarcean said he'd done some 'dark deeds' for him, but no one remembers him, saying he just 'disappeared'. I call it Suspicious. Maybe he even was the one who ordered the creation of the cup to enslave other Kings
Sun King is either related to Sarcean or to James (kinda don't feel like using his nickname). Either older brother or father. My bet goes on the older brother of Sarcean (but my secret wish is that he's the Father of James (to make ALL of his father figures assholes)). But probably we haven't seen his face exactly because he looks very similar to Will/Sarcean. 
Sinclair either knows that about Sun King, or, more likely, he is Sun King Reborn (or Sun King possessing someone's body). That would also make him manipulating James especially horrible.
If Sinclair is Sun King, that might explain WHY there were false beliefs that the Collar would make James obey to whoever put it on him. If James and Sarcean knew that Sun King/Lady also can return it would be a nice trick to make them seek to put the Collar on James instead of killing James and/or destroying the Collar 
Lady is probably also not as Good as everyone thinks, she is a Grey Character, way too obsessed with the idea of defeating Sarcean, or she is fully Bad, maybe even manipulating her husband Sun King 
White death is connected to Lady (also a pretty obvious one), cause she is the one who killed Kathleen and sent Sandy back. (Why she can't travel in time herself is an interesting question)
Collar, collar, collar. It's currently revealed that the Collar does at least two things — shares Will's powers with James (Will felt the cold exactly the moment James puts the Collar on, and James can do powerful magic even after opening the Gates), and gives James his past life's memories back. So... it would be a bit strange to give such protective powers to the object that was meant to enslave James. So probably it doesn't control James in the way that he (and us) thought.
Maybe the Collar was meant to protect James from mind-control, and enslavement of the Sun King/Lady. (But my bet goes on Lady, because of the scene when Sarcean was arrested — he said "You called" as if she somehow enchanted him). Maybe if he is 'bonded' by Collar to Sarcean/Will no one else can control him -> hence inability to take it off.
Maybe that's why James felt such a compulsion to put it on, when he is near Will, cause deep down he felt that the Collar would protect him, instead of enslave him
Maybe the whole 'Dark King forced him to lay near his throne' was part of the lie, to convince everyone else that that's what's going on, so in the next life someone is tempted to put it on James, so James can get both his memories and power boost.
Then we have 'I will always find you, try to run'... It's definitely not just a phase, maybe it indicates the message that James sends in that scene, something like "If you run, I'll find you and join you", or, more likely, that later he did find Sarcean, and maybe Sarcean explained something to him, which made James switch sides
Almost forgot. I have a theory that Sarcean / James were childhood friends, and Sarcean was pining for him since forever. Maybe Sun King knew that and did something to make their relationship impossible, maybe 'promoted' James to position where he's not allowed to have 'boyfriends'

I think Dracula Daily readers that haven't watched Van Helsing (2004) need to get AN IDEA of it because it's completely bonkers, beyond "Van Helsing is an action hero played by Hugh Jackman now". Spoilers ahead:

- Our first introduction to the character is him chasing down and killing Mr Hyde.
- Faramir from the LotR movies plays a quirky Q from James Bond but as a friar with very shoddy theology.
- The plot of the movie spins around prince Valkan and princess... Kate Beckinsale, of Romania, whose family had sworn to destroy Dracula or never enter paradise.
- Dracula can control werewolves and is the most supreme scene chewing diva I have seen.
- Dracula had hired Frankenstein to create a monster that could draw electricity enough to bring to life his thousands of vampire children he conceived with the brides and had incubating in the rafters of the castle. That's his whole plan for the movie.
- the villagers are pissed at Van Helsing for killing a bride because until then Dracula only took one or two villagers a month or something like that and then he was going to retaliate
- Van Helsing is bitten and turned into a werewolf
- Somehow he also is the archangel Gabriel and he and Dracula have a loooong past of fighting each other through History or something.

This is Why I Don't Leave the House by @zorawitch has to be one of my most revisited and beloved fics not just for this pairing, but for this fandom ever. It's the one that actually hooked me for this ship, it's a human au but everyone is written - just spot on and it's both romantic as hell but with some serious drama too, the entire family is in this, even Despair actually gets moments to shine which is rare it seems. Dr*ml!ng is in it but very very briefly, like it's objectively the Side Pairing Where One Is On the Phone For 5 Minutes in the background for once, also contains very side (but weirdly cute) Desunity. I seriously want to turn this fic into heroin and put an IV to inject it right into my veins. I love it so much (Obviously) and you'll see why if you read it. Descriptions: A+, dialogue A+ character work A ++++.
In Places No One Will Find by starsniper explores the grief of losing Jessamy from Lucienne's POV and Gault is the Best as per usual. This broke my heart in all the best ways, it needs SO much more love.
Obliterate All Prior Things by The_KickIt_Domain is. It is one of the most beautifully written fics I've ever SEEN. Everything about the way Lucienne and Gault are written and the sense of history between them is 10/10. The yearning and the tenderness is off the charts. Definitely a favorite
Daydreams by james is a sensual and beautifully written snippet of domestic Gaulcienne and I adore it.
Beautiful by melime tender fluff with lush description.
"This is my wife..." by @honeyteacakes is just. Short but so so sweet and feels like a look into Matthew and Lucienne's bond as well as hers and Gault's relationship. They also have a bit of fun at his expense lol
dreaming weather by Anonymous way too short but HOT and poetic smut.
Sea Changes by Cafephile FLAWLESS addition to monsterfuckertober. Gault brings back an old nightmare form with tentacles for fun and a good time is had by all:) hot and lovely.
Calliene (Calliope and Lucienne)
@two-hands-toward-the-sun is literally carrying this ship tag on their shoulders and all of their Calienne fics are good but here's some highlights:
I carried this for years plus it's sequel, I can feel the sun whenever you're near are just. *chefs kiss* absolutely great exploration of them trying to deal with their trauma and sometimes competing needs together.
you love each other until the city becomes beautiful , heart of my heart, come my way and stay my honey are all pure quality fluff. Shoot this serotonin straight into my veins.
Corinthienne (Cori × Lucienne)
I haven't read much fic for this pairing so its gonna be short lol, but I couldn't pass these by
Insatiable by honeyteacakes is incredibly tragically steamy and beautifully written.
Quiet in the Library by starkraving is just. MWAH. Very smutty and full of Feelings, it packs such a good punch I can't oversell it.
Just Between Us by onyourleft084 Lucienne tries to domme the Corinthian into behaving and staying in line and it works...for awhile. Honestly I don't feel like I'm selling it right though, just by that simple description. You will feel things about this and them by the end, I promise. At least I did.

Uzi - *unattentive*yep.
N - you know with the whole Eldritch J thing that was pretty insane, proms coming up which I guess is exciting. Because you know this story is set somewhere between episode 2 and 3.
Uzi - *still not listening*cool… Hey, I’ve got a second controller if you want to play video game with me.
N - you know I don’t like video game Uzi, plus we have to go soon.
Uzi - wait… go where?
N - well it's Thad’s shindig soon.
Uzi - oh cool, I’ll be heading offline in a minute anyway, this old hag—*reading username* SeaweedLoverXD has just been spawn camping me for the last half hour.
Nori - *over the mic* OLD HAG?
Uzi - *putting on headset*yeah, you virgin loser, you heard me!
Nori - Virgin?! Well I’ll have you know little miss Nobody, I am a mother of a darling daughter and if I ever caught her saying anything remotely similar to the insults you’ve been throwing my way I wouldn’t hesitate washing her mouth out with soap and water!
Uzi - whatever, die mad. *logs off*
*Meanwhile in a distant spaceship*
J - [you died idiot]
J - ughh, my head [Lost Memory Recovery Finished]... oh … oh! ... I liked that pen. 
J - *getting out of bed only to lose balance and collapse on the floor* … I’m okay! That was strange… My limb enhancements! Where are my limb enhancements?! *mad* Tessa! *pouting* Right now I bet I look like a common toaster! And why is it so dark? Are we conserving energy now?!
J - *walking through the spaceship arriving at a door labelled ‘Tessa. Knock first’*
J - *opening the door to a pitch black messy room,a pool of oil and blood pools out of the room*
Flesha - GET OUT!*throws Tessa’s helmet square at J cracking her visor slightly before slamming the door shut*
J - Tessa… I’m sorry.
Flesha - Learn to knock!
J - *picking up Tessa’s helmet* I think you dropped this.
Flesha - … *slowly opens the door slightly before lashing out and snatching the helmet quickly with a black tendril before retreating back into the room. Grotesque, bone cracking sounds follow*
J - …m,may I come in.
Tessa - sure, please mind the mess. I usually try to keep things clean but I guess you can say I haven't really been myself.
J - *entering* You know I’ve been reading some human literature and ‘arrogance and comedy’ are generally not considered a good coping mechanism.
Tessa - oh so you’re an expert on my well being are you?
J - your parents instructed me to protect you so yes!
Tessa - Well, look how that turned out! You’ve seen what's left of me, of what I become, I am a monster!
J - We’re all monsters Tessa, in our own way. I can see you're tired, I am here to grab my limb enhancers then I will be off.
Tessa - oh… yeah, I’ve been making modifications, it's still really buggy, they need more time though.
J - can’t I just borrow N's spare set? Been wondering what having feet feels like.
Tessa - no… I’ve been thinking, breaking into the Worker Drones commune is difficult, entering by force is doing little good and the plan to try and hack its main frame has only led to many complications.
J - you can code?
Tessa - nope. Like I said, complications. Anyhow, returning to the subject, right now no one could differentiate you from any other worker so you can head down and do some spy work… like James Bond and such.
J - do I have any say in this?
Tessa - nope.
J - *annoyed* then I’ll prepare my landing pod. *leaving* and Tessa, you shouldn’t just allow Cyn to walk over you…
Tessa - It's her body as much as mine and without it I would be dead.

Laura Corkill was prepared for the birth of her son. The baby's room was newly decorated - she had even chosen the name. Leiland-James Michael Corkill was born by emergency Caesarean four days before Christmas at West Cumberland Hospital.
Mother and baby bonded straight away - Laura describes it as "perfect".  
"I remember his big bright eyes. I was happy, full of joy. I was looking forward to bringing my baby home." 
But 48 hours after he was born, Leiland-James was taken away. The midwife who had helped deliver him came to tell Laura there was a social worker at his cot about to remove him. 
Laura says she went and confronted the woman but was told paperwork had been sent to her solicitor.  "I still haven't seen any paperwork," says Laura.
Laura's world "shattered" when her son was carried away.
It was 2019, and over the following year, she would try to get him back. But just days after his first birthday, the woman - who social workers had placed him with - murdered him.
Laura Corkill has never spoken out before. She wasn't involved in the subsequent murder trial. She wasn't involved in Cumbria County Council's review into his death. She says she feels silenced. This is her story, told for the first time. 
This is also the story of what happens when social services get it wrong and when mothers who have experienced domestic abuse end up losing their children.
 When Laura fell pregnant with Leiland-James, it was a moment of hope - a time to put her troubled past behind her. She was in a good place - supported by Aishea Drysder, from Women Out West, an organisation helping women who have suffered domestic and sexual violence.  
Laura already knew what it was like to have a child removed by social services. Years earlier, she suffered domestic violence, but weeks after asking for help to remove her abusive partner from the home, her children were taken instead. Her life unravelled. 
But being pregnant with Leiland-James was different, she says.
 "I wanted to do anything and everything possible, to make sure social services didn't get their hands on this one. I was on cloud nine. I heard nothing from social services until 22 weeks."  
The first social worker, she says, appeared to be happy with the preparations made for the baby at home. "She checked everything over and went around the house. She had no problems. She could see from what she read in my previous paperwork that I've come a very long way." 
But Laura was still cautious and says she asked directly if she would be able to keep her baby. She says the woman reassured her there wasn't any reason the baby would be taken into care.
"I got the cot. I decorated [the room] in blue and white." 
Laura believes everything changed when a second social worker replaced the first. The woman  wanted  to know more about Laura's past, particularly her time with an abusive partner when her first two children were taken away from her. Laura says she was open and honest.
"My mind was in two places. I feared they were going to whip everything away, but I was determined to carry on. I thought 'they are not getting him'."
Before the birth, Laura passed several parenting assessment courses.
"I jumped through every hoop to bring Leiland-James home."  
Cumbria County Council has a different version of events and says in the last month of her pregnancy the plan was to remove Laura's son at birth. They say they told her this three times. Laura disputes this, and she says she is still waiting to see the paperwork, and that she only received confirmation when the social worker was taking her son from the hospital.
Laura's home is on the edge of Whitehaven, in a corner of an estate looking down on the town's harbour. It has a stunning view.
It's a place of extraordinary beauty but also deep deprivation. It's hard to believe now, but in the 18th Century it was a town made rich by coal, and the second-busiest port after London. Those days are long gone.  
Laura's front room is now a shrine to her children and in particular Leiland-James. 
When I meet her she is with Aishea from Women Out West and her colleague Rebecca Todd. Between them, they have more than 50 years' experience helping women who have suffered domestic and sexual violence.  
They had no idea Leiland-James was going to be taken. "The first we knew was when Laura phoned us from the ward. We were devastated," says Aishea.  Whatever the plan was, it wasn't communicated to them, they say.
Aishea says they had their own plan which would have seen Laura supported at home with the baby. After he was taken away, there were several attempts to negotiate with Cumbria County Council to bring him home.
A council spokesperson told the BBC that where there are concerns that a child's needs cannot be met, they have a duty to act and they work hard to support and inform birth parents.
Initially, Leiland-James was placed with a temporary foster carer. Laura says he was happy.
But she never stopped asking for him back.
The BBC has seen evidence that the Women Out West team supporting Laura offered social workers proposals to bring Leiland-James home. Both Aishea and Rebecca say they were not listened to. 
The council told us Laura was assessed as not being able to meet Leiland-James's needs and during his life her circumstances did not change. This is strongly denied by Laura and Women Out West.
Removing Leiland-James proved to be the start of a series of events that proved fatal. Laura, Aishea and Rebecca believe decisions were made based on Laura's past, a belief the violence she faced previously could happen again, putting her and the baby at risk.
Leiland-James was taken from his mother in hospital and placed in care. He went on to be killed by the woman who wanted to adopt him.
Laura suffered several miscarriages after experiencing severe violence at the hands of a previous partner. After one of them, as she lay in a hospital bed recovering from a blood transfusion, her two children were removed from the family home.
She says at the time she reached out to Cumbria County Council for help but had not received what she needed.
"What they didn't realise was that I may have been the victim, but I was also the protector of my older children."  
She says she "went off the rails" and suffered a mental health breakdown. She collapsed and ended up in hospital again. The next few years were hell, she says.
"I didn't want to be around any more." 
Laura says she wasn't in a relationship while pregnant with Leiland-James and was in a positive frame of mind.
 For the first few months of Leiland-James's life, Laura was able to see him at a council-run contact centre. She shows me photographs and it's striking how happy they both look. Laura would see her son four times a week, for an hour-and-a-half a day.  
"I was still expecting him to come home," she says. "The contact meant the world to me. I even asked for them to extend it to about two hours. They wouldn't do it. I didn't trust them [the social workers], but I was willing to co-operate to get Leiland back." 
But Covid cut off contact. In March 2020, as the country went into its first lockdown, she says she took two buses - an hour's journey - and turned up at the centre only to find it was closed.
For the next three months, she asked for video contact. But when she did get it, it wasn't the same.  "I just wanted to hold him," she says.  
But worse was to come. In July, the family court granted an adoption order for Leiland-James. Laura says she hadn't been told that Cumbria County Council had already identified her son for adoption and had  found  a family to place him with  months earlier.
Cumbria County Council says they told Laura in April that Leiland-James should be adopted.
Laura disputes this - and says the time she had with Leiland-James in the contact centre should have indicated she was able to look after her son. She thinks too much weight was placed on her abusive past and the assumption the baby would be at risk of future emotional harm.
"How can [social workers] come up with that when they had seen what I was like in contact with the baby?" Laura asks.
Laura also believes her lack of face-to-face contact with her son because of Covid, and the closure of the centre, was used against her. 
On 22 August 2020, Leiland-James was formally placed with a foster mother,  Laura Castle, with a view to adoption. 
Laura says she was meant to meet  Laura Castle,  as she still had parental rights, before the formal adoption. But the meeting time was constantly changed.  She says she was given excuse after excuse by social workers. "Leiland was poorly when he wasn't, or they had to work. Something always cropped up." 
Cumbria County Council says it did plan for a meeting before the adoption order was granted but everyone involved needed to be emotionally ready and the pandemic also caused difficulties.
Laura became suspicious. "I thought there's something seriously wrong. I automatically thought 'He's getting abused.'" 
She  shows me the last picture of her and her son at the contact centre. "It's precious," she says, her voice breaking. It's all she has left. She would never hold Leiland-James again.  
In January 2021, the baby was taken to hospital by ambulance. Laura Castle told emergency services he had fallen from a sofa, injuring his head, and that he was unresponsive. 
A social worker phoned Laura Corkill, but wouldn't tell her which hospital he was in.
"I was up and down all night. I just wanted to try to figure out if I could go to every hospital I could to find him. It was evil not to tell me." 
The following day, she was told Leiland-James had been moved to Alder Hey  Children's Hospital in Liverpool.
Cumbria County Council says only limited details were shared with Laura because his prospective adoptive parents were with him and the extent of the injuries were not known at the time. But the next day, when it became clear he wasn't expected to live, they rang Laura within an hour.
A taxi sent by the council was meant to take her to Liverpool, but Laura says it didn't arrive. Her support workers at Women Out West provided transport.
Laura was alone at the hospital when she arrived. She says by the time she got to his room, Leiland-James had died. By then, Laura says her son's body was evidence, a crime scene, and hospital staff would not let her touch him.
Laura says she instinctively knew his death had not been an accident. 
"I said whoever had him had killed him. The surgeon told me 'we had suspicions of this and it went into investigation as soon as Leiland-James went into the hospital'."
Pathologists would later say in court that Leiland-James's injuries had been a classic indicator of "abusive head trauma" - a replacement term for "shaken baby syndrome" - and were of the severity seen in high-speed car crashes.

Before Leiland-James was placed in her care, Laura Castle had agreed to Cumbria County Council's zero-tolerance approach to corporal punishment.
But during her trial for the murder in May this year, it emerged she had  constantly beaten and abused the baby. In court, she was described as self-centred, abusive and violent. 
She filmed the baby in distress. In text messages she bragged to her husband how she had "leathered him" and described him as "the devil's spawn". 
In one text, she wrote: "I honestly really don't like him lately, he's an absolute moaning winge bag and I totally regret doin this [sic]. 
"Although I need to stop smacking him cos if I start, I'll not stop at one point and it's not getting us anywhere and then I feel bad."
These texts and the abuse were hidden from social workers, they had no idea this violence was taking place - but they were becoming concerned about what Laura Castle was saying to them about the boy.
The court heard a social worker had reported that Leiland-James had appeared unsettled, while another reported that Laura Castle had branded him "lazy" and "big" and said she didn't love him.   
In December 2020, what is known as a Child Looked After Review had taken place. Social workers had agreed not to support an application for Laura Castle to formally adopt Leiland-James. But when Laura Castle was told this, she said to one social worker that "Leiland-James wasn't going anywhere". 
In May this year, Laura Castle was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 18 years. Her husband, Scott Castle, was cleared of causing or allowing Leiland-James's death at the couple's home. He told the court that on the morning of the fatal attack he was in bed  asleep after working a night shift.
Laura Corkill describes the woman who killed her son as an "evil sadistic monster". But she is also angry with Cumbria County Council and says it also must bear some responsibility for his death.
"Why did they place him there? Why did it take them so long to pick up on it? They should have cancelled the adoption order." 
She also argues the council needs to offer more support to abuse victims.
The BBC has learned there are currently 26 mothers in west Cumbria, victims of domestic and sexual abuse, who are now at risk of losing their children because social workers have concerns about the impact on their children.
All of them are being supported by Women Out West. Laura Bell is what is known as the centre's McKenzie Friend - not a legal professional but someone who may support a domestic violence victim in the family court, or when dealing with children's services. 
All the 26 women she supports are required to go through child safeguarding procedures, despite being victims themselves. This is because there's an incorrect belief, she says, that these women can't keep their children safe. 
"It's a national scandal. A lot of the time, these women victims of domestic or sexual abuse make the right choice, they leave the relationship, they try to get help but end up victimised again, either by the perpetrator or by agencies meant to support them.
"Nine times out of 10, they have to make their children available for contact with the person who has abused them." 
Women Out West was founded by Rachel Holliday three years ago. She says six mothers who faced domestic and sexual abuse by partners  have revealed to her that their children were removed by Cumbria County Council and placed with their abusers. 
Some of the evidence she collected with the mothers' permission, she says, was handed over to the council more than two years ago.
"One woman had her children taken away and moved to the father, and those children are still making allegations to this day that he is putting his hands on [them].
"We have a culture of blaming women, not believing women." 
As a result, Rachel says, women and children are being put in danger.  She says her concerns have not been taken seriously by Cumbria County Council. 
"It didn't matter who we took [them] to. It was shocking nothing happened. We showed a lot of people, community leaders, but nothing changed."
The council told us when it was given the names of these women, it reviewed the allegations and some had been through its formal complaints procedures. It added that decisions to remove children from their parents - and where they should be placed - are made by the courts.
Cumbria Safeguarding Children Partnership is expected to publish a review into Leiland-James's death today. It will examine why he was placed with the Castle family and what social workers did when concerns were raised.
Laura Corkill has not been asked to be part of it. 
"I lost count of how many times I asked for my baby back. It's as though I've been wiped off the face of the earth. When he came home, it was in a wooden box," she says. 
John Readman. from Cumbria County Council, said in Leiland-James's case the family court agreed he should be placed in foster care after he was born and that Laura Corkill has been supported by her own social worker. He said Leiland-James's death "should not have happened and our condolences go to all who knew him".
A year-and-a-half after Leiland James's murder, Laura Corkill says no-one from the council has visited to her to say sorry or phoned to apologise. If he had been allowed to go home with her, she says, he would still be alive today.   
In the cemetery near Laura Corkill's home, there is a small headstone. The words "gone but never forgotten" are etched alongside Leiland-James's name and those of his living siblings - the children taken from their mother years ago. 
Here, Laura says, she can be at peace with her child. But it might have been very different. Laura says social workers wanted the body to be cremated and she had to fight to give him a burial.
"They even tried to write the eulogy," she says.  The BBC has seen a draft copy of  it sent by a social worker, which includes the words: "Leiland I am sorry I was not able to be the parent you needed."
Laura refused to read it out and wrote her own. "They tried to control me 100% but it didn't work. They tried to make me forget I was a mother, but no-one can take that away from me." 
Cumbria County Council admits it helped Laura to prepare the eulogy, but says she was left to make final decisions.
Rebecca Todd, from Women Out West, says what happened after Leiland's death was unthinkable. "It all needs to be investigated. Everyone involved with this case needs to be accountable.  
"It's important for Laura. She has been silenced and dismissed. To control a lady that can't even control her own child's funeral, where his body is, is just wrong. It's horrific." 
She says there needs to be a public inquiry outside Cumbria into the decision to remove him from mother.
Laura often sits alone at the grave contemplating what could have been - Leiland-James would be at nursery now. She says it's also the place where no-one can control her time with her son.
"I've spent more time with Leiland in death than in life. He's home now. I loved him - all I wanted was to be a proper mother."

What do you think of James and Erin?
For me it came out of nowhere (and I'm someone that ships easily, all it takes is a look), nothing could have made me guess that it was gonna happen between them. I think they have NO romantic chemistry whatsoever. And it kinda of ruined the vibe of the whole group for me.
What do you think on the matter?
Oh, I liked Jerin since the season 2 finale.
It’s also funny that the season 2 finale is what got you to ship Orla and James because it was the season 2 finale that got me to ship him with Erin, it wasn’t prom, it was Erin’s reaction to James’ news

And there are quite a few posts in the fandom that talk about how them getting together is symbolic of something much larger, i.e. they're two teens from two countries that have a tumultuous relationship with each other and they come together and it's a symbol of hope and a new beginning etc.
I also think their coming together is rooted a lot in character and the relationship dynamic is secondary. What I mean is, Erin is a character who has grand ideas of how her ordinary life will transform, whether it's fantasizing about being on a talk show/radio show

or having the goal of being the first person in their family to go to university or wanting/believing that the young English teacher sees her creativity and they have a special bond, or finally, finally getting with the cool musician and every time the reality is different and James is the much better reality, perhaps not what she fantasized about,

For James' part, he came to Derry an outcast, not understanding how things worked, painfully uncomfortable and his arc in the first two seasons is realizing he belongs with his family (Michelle) and found family with Orla, Clare and Erin but then there's added layer of him falling for someone from the place he once looked at with utter confusion and bewilderment

so rather than hyper-focusing on James and Erin together, I think it's led by their characters' journeys. That being said, I think they had their moments, I think 1x04 (one of my favourite episodes) is really telling

she's been into David since the first episode but instead of trying to get closer to him at the party, she's obsessed with Katya and James

in fact she actually has her in with him, he approaches her, he offers to sneak her a beer, it's the moment she; been waiting for, but what matters more is James and it's significant that she's the only one who cares about this, Orla, Claire and Michelle think he should probably have sex

I just don't think they had as many moments as I would've liked that were coded as specifically romantic before the confession and the kiss but I went along with it anyway.
And I don't think it did anything to disturb the friendship dynamics.

I'm stressed out, resenting my job, I haven't eaten, and I just popped an edible, so let's go
Red, White & Royal Blue, Alex has landed in London, Henry pulls his James Bond entrance shit, they go to stage the handshake.
Shaan: You must stand to the right of His Royal Highness Alex: Is that protocol or just his good side? Henry: Both.
An established rule about Henry: He prefers when people are on his right. A small thing, sure, and it seems like a silly power play to annoy Alex. But I don't think it is--it might seem like an asshole move, but given everything we learn about Henry, it rings to me as something Henry insists because it's one of the very few choices that he's been allowed to assert.
And, sure, the first handshake Alex mocks him for it. But when they exit the children's hospital and say goodbye, Alex doesn't even wait for Henry to make his request when the cameras start clicking. "Yeah, I know, I know, stand to your right," Alex says, and Henry smiles.
So if you play with me in this space, Alex positioning himself to the right of Henry becomes a representation of Henry feeling comfortable. And c'mon, just play in the space, the edible is going to hit any minute.
Let's apply this to whenever they're in bed together, and use this as a means to show us "these two are on the same page" vs. "something is off"

Anyway, Alex and Henry are more confused than ever about who they are to each other. They still have a while to go before they stabilize their relationship and reach the comfort they have by the end.
So I dunno, having the visual of Henry laying on the "wrong" side of the bed while Alex talks about his experience as the bi-racial child of a Mexican immigrant and then says in that heartbreaking way "you can't know what that means" -- like it just magnifies that these two characters still aren't fully in their element together, even after their deep intimacy.
Henry is on the wrong side of the bed, and he's looking at Alex while Alex is looking at the ceiling, and nothing makes sense because something happened that made everything make sense, but it's a sense they have to ignore to preserve an infinitesimal (that took my 9 tries) shred of self-preservation

Bill finally standing up to his father for everything. He stands in front of the other losers. Not afraid. He's faced scarier things. His dad is nothing.
Bill: Y-you don't get to ju-udge m-my choices. You don't get to judge them!
Bill gestures to the other losers behind him, they all stare at Bill in wonder, awe, and also how hot he is. But also worry for him because they never seen him this angry(not since Bill and Richie's fight) , and at his father no less.
Mr Denbrough, his tone judgmental(Mrs Denbrough standing behind him, nervous but silent): Bill this isn't normal! Having this close a bond with your friends isn't normal. I'm just concerned.
Bill eyes go cold: C-concerned! Yo-ou haven't gave a shit about me in f-fucking years! Not since Georgie died!
Mr Denbrough fully angry now: Do not talk to me that way young man! Now you listen-!
Bill snaps and pushes his father back away from him, hard. Causing the other losers to gasp.
Bill: NO YOU LISTEN! You were never there for me when Georgie died! We never talked about it! *Bill starting to tear up, but still angry.* You never talk about him. You just want to forget. Just like everyone else in this town.
Mr Denbrough starts to tear up but still angry. So has Mrs Denbrough. But she still says nothing.
Mr Denbrough: Bill!
Bill interrupts his father. He doesn't care anymore: Y-you have no idea w-what I've b-been through. *points to the other losers*. What we've been through. They're t-the only ones who have b-been there for m-me. The only ones! So to me they're my family! YOU DON'T GET JUDGE MY FAMILY!
Bill: And I dont have to stand here and hear it.
Bill turns around to leave with the other losers, who all started piling into Richies car when Bill turns around.
Mr Denbrough moves forward and stops Bill from leaving. He grabs his arm hard and hurting without realizing it. He's too deep in his anger. Bill freezes at the touch. Cold stone still.
Mr Denbrough to angry to care what he says: So you're just going to leave with these freaks? We know all about what you kids get up to! You know how much the town talks about the disgusting things you-
Bill doesn't let him finish, red fills his vision. Quick as a flash he turns around and punches his dad in the face. Breaking his nose. His dad curses, falls on his ass and holds his bleeding nose. Mrs Denbrough screams in shock.
Bill makes a move to jump on him(angry undesirable words of protective fury spilling out of his mouth)and continue hitting his father, but several different arms grab a hold of him to stop him. Bill doesn't hear what any of the other losers are saying. He just hears a high pitched rining in his ears and red in his vision. His blood burning hot. What finally calms him down is the sight of Mike standing in front him.
Mike cups his cheek gently and smiles, though theres worry in his eyes: Hey Big Bill. Hey. Calm down, look at me ok. It's alright. It's alright.
Bill starts to calm down. Breathing slow soft breaths. He keeps his eyes on Mike. Several of the other losers are hugging him.
Mike smiles, than kisses Bill soft on the mouth( kisses him in front his parents, where all of Derry and god can see. Being brave and not caring). Bill kisses him back softly. He feels his anger seep out of him. Finally calming down.
Mike moves away from the kiss, than leans his forehead against Bills: We are going to leave now ok? Ok Big Bill?
Bill nods, than he feels others move away from the group hug. Ben boldly hugs him around the middle, picks him up like he weighs nothing. All but drags him to Richies van. Bill doesn't look back.
Mr Denbrough and Mrs Denbrough: BILL! COME BACK HERE!
Ben brings him into the back of the van where Beverly sits, gets Ben to lean him on her lap(she runs fingers throughhis hair to keep him calm and comfort him). Stan's up front with Richie whos driving. Mike and Eddie both get into the back behind them.
Richie starting the car, lets him moter mouth run: Nice seeing you again Mr And Mrs Denbrough. You better get that nose checked Bill's punches hurt like a bitch. Though I never had any personal experience with that.
Stan in front with Richie, who puts a hand on his shaking wrist: Beep Beep Richie. Just drive ok.
Richie does. Driving the car away. All the losers hear one last angry cry of Bills name. But Bill doesn't turn back to look. No one does.

Top Gun Maverick (2022) - Too good to be true, I can't believe it's that good considering our current times 😂

"Well, isn't this just nifty," you deadpanned, staring at the bright blue sky with your whole body hanging on a tree branch and feeling your back about to give out from the force of gravity.
"Haha," Bonde sarcastically mused, grabbing the tree's trunk as he reached for you.
 "Very funny (N/N). Now, grab my hand," he reached out to you, making you turn to him and stretch out your hand, careful not to tip your balance.
"I must say, I haven't seen anyone make a car flip mid-air when as you turn. You're really something, Double O' Seven."
"Should I shake the branch instead and let gravity do the work?"
"Thanks," you dusted yourself off as you and Bonde reached the ground.
"Don't mention it," he reassured, fixing his suit as you both looked at Herder's car you borrowed for your road trip.
"Do you think he'll notice?" Bonde asked as you blinked at the car.
It was hanging between branches with the hood completely popped open, smoke coming out, one of the headlights hanging by the wires, and a tire rolling across you and Bonde.
"I'm sure he can dent it out," you waved your hand, followed by a loud bang from the engine.
"...Shall we walk?"
"Nothing like a little nature hike to calm the mind,"
"How long do you think 'till they notice we're gone?"
"Knowing Herder? I'm surprised we made it this far," Bonde chuckled as he moved away the branches, letting you pass through.
"What? Don't tell me you're scared," he teased, making you scoff.
"Of what?" you taunted, making Bonde shrug his shoulders.
"You don't know, maybe someone or something is lurking in the dark..." he quickly moved to the other side, "...waiting for an opportunity to strike," he whispered, making you roll your eyes.
"We kill people for a living. Some shadows aren't enough to scare me," you denied, making Bonde pout.
"If you say so... But don't come clinging to me if you get scared,"
"Not in a million years,"
"Uh... James?" you called out, staring at the landmark you carved on the tree five minutes ago.
"Yeah?" he replied, his eyes not leaving the map.
"Are you sure you know how to read the map?"
"Of course. Why do you ask?"
"Oh, I don't know," you shrugged, "I just think there's a possibility we're... you know..." you shrugged, "The L word?"
"Lesbians?"
"Lost, James. We're lost,"
As you and Bonde roamed the forest, your eyes landed on a dirt path.
"James!" you gasped, shaking his arm as you pulled him to the path.
As you followed the path, you saw a village up ahead.
"Was there a village on the map?" you asked, making Bonde look through it again.
"Doesn't look like it..." he answered, making you hum.
"Let's go ask them for directions," you smiled, marching to the village before Bonde grabbed you by the collar.
"I don't think that's such a good idea..."
"Why not?"
"Have you never read a single horror novel in your life?" he furrowed your brows, making you sigh.
"Then what? Continue to roam the forest until nighttime?"
"So you'd rather enter an uncharted village in the middle of the woods?"
You both stared at each other, waiting for one to give in.
"...Rock-paper-scissors? Whoever wins, we follow and blame for our possible deaths?"
"...Yeah, why not."

someone uploaded the entirety of The Matador (2005) onto a porn site with like Romanian subtitles or something. I might just watch it I haven't seen it since I was probably 16 and it's not a bad movie. Pierce Brosnan is an assassin with a porn stache having an existential crisis and this was fresh off his James Bond tenure it feels almost like an answer to that role, still an assassin but not the suave government agent, a more real, burnt out, and damaged assassin who's tired of working for very bad people, one who goes to sex dungeons just to try to feel something and latches on to the first person he makes any connection with bc he's closed himself off so completely. actually this movie may have awakened something in me back then but I think I may have fight clubbed it and took the completely wrong message away from it

Major Spoilers for Whole Cake Island Arc
Turn back if you haven't gotten into the 800s!!! I'm about to give a TED talk about episode 808, which is arguably one of the most emotional episodes of One Piece.

I FINALLY have my computer back!! Which means I can finally get to the myriad of posts I've been wanting to make over the past few days. I've been able to go from Zou to the beginning of Wano in record time and I have SO MANY THOUGHTS.

I had heard some hype about Sanji v Luffy but until I actually watched the episode, I hadn't been terribly excited. I (like many others) have very complicated feelings about Sanji. I loved him before Thriller Bark, after which his predatory nature became impossible to overlook and made the majority of scenes with him uncomfortable to sit through. I've had relationships with guys that seemed amazing save for the fact that they refused to acknowledge and appreciate boundaries around women and femmes, and I've watched those guys get away with their bullshit over and over because no one takes it fucking seriously. Sanji can be borderline triggering for me with the kind of abuse history that I have. With that out of the way....

Whole Cake Island Sanji feels almost like a different person than he did in Thriller Bark and Fishman Island. He ceases to be the token perv and becomes an extremely emotionally complex character in a way we haven't seen up until this point. Normally incredibly sarcastic and stoic in the face of drama and tension, he begins to crack at the seams. Being around his abusers brings out a side of him that I hadn't even imagined up until now. His fight with Luffy is EXTREMELY challenging to watch because this isn't about someone flexing their strength or winning a contest, it's about fucking trauma.

It was difficult enough watching Luffy get the absolute shit kicked out of him by one of his dear friends. Then Sanji had to go and shatter Nami's heart. We've seen Nami (rightfully) slap the shit out of him before when he acts a fool towards women, but this literally hit different. The tears started falling for me after that "Sayonara." It felt so definite, so devastatingly conclusive. I don't think we've ever seen Nami angry like this before, not towards a crew member. As a viewer, I hadn't felt this uncomfortable since Luffy's falling out with Usopp.

I could be wrong, but I think the only other time we've seen Sanji cry was when he was saying goodbye to Zeff at Baratie. One of the things I've always loved about One Piece is how little Oda holds back when it comes to allowing his characters to FEEL. Crying is normalized in this world, no matter what one's gender is. But Sanji is typically presented (much like Zoro) as the stoic butch, the cool as a cucumber James Bond type who doesn't seem nearly as affected as the rest of his compatriots by the crazy shit they go through. Seeing him break down as Luffy cried after him, reminding him of how much he cared about him and how he wouldn't give up on him was fucking powerful and gave Sanji some much needed development after over 800 episodes.

Lastly, I just have to commend all the voice actors in this episode, particularly Hioraki Hirata and Mayumi Tanaka. The amount of nuance that went into these performances gives me goosebumps and cemented this as one of the most powerful episodes of One Piece for me. I wish this was the Sanji that could have stayed with us in Wano, but alas and alack. Watching this arc play out in Live Action is going to be absolutely insane.

the future's unwritten, the past is a corridor
James and Lily didn't want the perfect wedding, they just wanted one that felt like theirs. That's why they had to invite all their friends... even if they haven't seen one another in six years and everything ended on not-so-great terms. Surprisingly, everyone decides to show up.
Smoke Signals chapter one is out now! It’s around 12k words and begins with James and Lily deciding to invite all the marauders (and the slytherin group) to their wedding! It follows each person reading their letter that came with the invitation.
The fic has multiple ships: jily (established), wolfstar, dorlene, and bartylus. It’s a modern, no magic, AU. There’s lots of bonding and fluff and getting over the past, with just enough angst to hold you over.
It stemmed from a random thought of, "hey, hope ur ok by olivia rodrigo is so Remus Lupin coded!" and then I made this post on tumblr after I'd written one word in an untitled word doc. Everything spiraled from there.
I spent ages trying to come up with a title, scanning all of my favorite artists’ discographies to find what fit the aesthetic and also the content. Smoke Signals fit perfectly.
