WIP Wednesday, May 8, 2024

Well, it's still Wednesday here for another hour-ish. I have sufficiently died over what content we have gotten from the FYC panel, and I can't wait to die more when the full panel is released by Amazon.

From my RBB fic - calm before the storm, or ....?

Alex’s finger hooks under his chin, lifting his head. “I can’t fix something that I don’t know is broken, Hen.” “I know.” Henry nods. “I may have been hoping you’d realize it eventually on your own.” “Well, that was your first mistake.” Alex teases. A small smile fights its way onto Henry’s face before a soft laugh escapes him. “Yes, I suppose it was.” Alex presses a gentle kiss to his forehead, then his lips. “I love you.” “I love you, too.” Alex pulls him in and Henry nestles his cheek against his neck, breathing him in. His arms circle completely around Alex’s waist, his eyes closing when he feels long fingers stroking through his hair. He bunches Alex’s shirt into his fingers, not daring to let go. Alex is the one who eventually pulls back. Henry’s eyes scan Alex’s face when he looks down at his desk, trying to see if he can determine what Alex’s next move is going to be. He inhales deeply when Alex steps to the side, starts shuffling piles back together and reaching for folders, and his heart feels like it’s about to plummet from his chest down to his stomach. Henry tugs his bottom lip between his teeth, holding his breath until Alex settles the papers into their respective folders and closes them. “Well,” Alex smiles over at him. “I don’t think I’ll be making much more progress on these tonight.” He reaches up and strokes his thumb over Henry’s cheek. “‘Bake Off’?” Henry closes his eyes and turns into Alex’s touch, the corners of his mouth tipping up into a content smile. When he opens his eyes, he reaches over to retrieve Alex’s glasses and slides them carefully back on to Alex’s nose. “That sounds wonderful.”
