If we're being realistic, they don't work out but if we're keeping with romcom logic, he buys The Shop Around the Corner and they have children for his aunt and brother to play with and she writes children's books and they live happily ever after.

Bonnie would love Kathony? Like Kate x Anthony? I think I need an explanation because I could almost see her liking it at 16-17.but would it also be like Bamon? She like the *vibrations* of what is supposed to be more than what is actually on screen?

Well, whenever I think of the characters, I mostly see them in their seasons 1-3 iterations because season 4 onward is so much more of a mess so it makes sense that you’re like yeah, maybe when she’s 16-17 but also I think that post season 3 Bonnie would be into them too and of course it would be the idea of them rather than what’s actually onscreen because well, I’ve already broken down repeatedly, much to the ire of anons, what I find fundamentally wrong with Kanthony but it’s the idea of them, the idea that the older sister who is meant to take care of everyone and who puts her needs to the side for her charge i.e younger sister gets a man who is meant to be absolutely feral over her and the angst of that entire situation because he’s promised to said sister.

Since it is nearly Bridgerton season, here are my reviews of season 2.

1. I like how dramatic Kate lying on the ground in the rain is as if they would ever kill her.

18. OK so when Edwina asks if there was always something between Kate and the viscount, Kate is like I was lying to myself but she truly didn’t know there was something until it was too late. I mean … it’s not like there was this ONE incident

and nothing else but like lingering gazes, there was this moment

and then mans proposed and then it was too late. You and Anthony were doing a LOT before it was “too late”, Kate and her being like “I was lying to myself not you” is a bullshit explanation just like this

because like anon, said there’s literally no reason we’re given why Kate would feel the need to deny these feelings or feel the need to lie to herself, what happened in her life that she felt it was necessary to do this? Saying because Edwina had her eye on him is not enough because as we’ve discussed if she really had Edwina’s interests in mind then she should’ve/would’ve been honest or at least try and make Anthony look undesirable or pest another suitor to be persistent in trying to get Edwina’s affections but she just let’s everything happen and you can’t be that passive while also being framed as an active character because the whole situation gives off

19. Edwina tells Kate that she doesn’t feel like she knows her and that Kate doesn’t know herself and Kate’s just like mmhmm yep, accurate *smiles*

Like if someone tells me the whole point is that they’re playing roles because of London society which makes them out of touch with what they truly want, they didn’t grow up in London society and their mother said she had her daughters grow up free and to not be preoccupied with class or station so this whole thing is poorly written.

21. And if this is what it’s really about

then that should’ve been way more present from the beginning, that requires an interiority from Kate that we were never given. Theon is constantly told he’s lucky to be at Winterfell, maybe not by Ned, but there are various things that happen in season 1 (and season 2) that show that he’s cared for but also show that he’s not really a Stark. The point is that Edwina and their mother don’t treat Kate differently but we should’ve seen things besides a pointed dinner and one offhand remark in the first episode that indicate that Kate feels beholden to this family and maybe a bit of a fear that if she told them what was going on between her and Anthony she’d get cast out of the family.

Bonnie would ship Bangel, the higher callings and all that, and would probably love Kathony and Elena would love Heloise and Marianne from Portrait of a Lady on Fire and probably Westley and Buttercup.
