The Koopa kids personalities
in my Reader x Bowser fic
Bowser Jr. - childish and is very much Bowsers son. Definitely lives up to his namesake and acts just like his dad but still very much a kid. Loves video games and painting. Wants to grow up to be just like his papa.
Larry Koopa - The youngest of the Koopalings. He's mute and speaks using pictures that only really Lemmy (and Kamek) understand. He's a bit mischievous and cunning. He absolutely loves sports, tennis being his favorite. (Also sometimes paints as well)
Wendy O. Koopa - Sassy and tomboyish. This spoiled little princess is an absolute daddy's girl. Adores the color pink and loves doing makeup. Really likes challenges and can get very competitive. And though she may pout and be a bit grumpy she's definitely not a sore loser and respects those that beat her.
Lemmy Koopa - Iggy's twin. The silly, fun-loving, and innocent little acrobat. Though he may not be as smart or mature as the rest of his siblings he can be very serious when he needs to be. (Is absolutely a silly little scrunkly clown who definitely has ADHD and acts based on me and my siblings with it)
Iggy Koopa - Lemmy's twin. The hyperactive crazed inventor/scientist who's just as childish and immature as his twin. Loves to invent and adores learning new things. Sometimes can be found covered in soot and ash after an invention or experiment goes wrong. Though brilliant he is still just a kid. (Probably also has ADHD)
Morton Koopa Jr. - Though he may have trouble formulating sentences properly he absolutely loves to talk. A big tough guy who's an absolute softie. Though not the smartest is definitely not dumb. (Is definitely autistic and acts based on me when I was younger as well as my autistic siblings. If you let him, he will absolutely spend all day info dumping to you like finally someone that wants to listen to me constantly talk yes!!!)
Roy Koopa - The tough guy with an attitude. Is not afraid of showing love and affection but just shows it in a very aggressive and mean way. Like if one of his siblings got hurt and was crying he'd call them an idiot and insults them as he bandages and kisses their boo-boo.
Ludwig von Koppa - The sophisticated, egotistical, and rude composer. Likes making and playing music. He believes himself to be the smartest and "real leader" of the Koopalings. (Which his siblings disagree) Though rude he is very eloquent and articulate. Despite all this he is still the caring eldest brother and absolutely loves his siblings. (I'm not sure if he's canonically the eldest but in this fic he is)

TG:M gave us no background information on the pasts of anyone but rooster, so here are my ideas for just a few of the dagger squad members :)!
Phoenix
Admiral's daughter, but is mostly no contact with her family. I saw this in a fic, I cannot remember the name of for the life of me, and I love it. From the Northeast, I'm thinking like McGuire base area. Her parents were in a rocky marriage when she was kid, but eventually something clicked and they made it work. She has two older twin brothers who she talks to on occasion. She was a "teenage dirtbag" kid because her parents were super controlling, and bc of their high expectations has a gifted kid complex. She went to USMA, and met Rooster there since he had to go through college after Mav pulled his papers. They bunked a lot when they lived off campus. She has definitely dated the opposite sex before, would be open to a new relationship, but is more focused on her career.
(edit: the admiral's daughter headcanon is from Crash and Burn by ChipTheKeeper on ao3!)
Bob
Comes from a highly decorated Marine family. Did not want to go through the Marine training, so he stuck with the Navy. South Carolina family, and from a big family, but his mother was a single mom so he was an only child until he was about fourteen and his mom remarried into ANOTHER military family and had his little sister. She is his absolute favorite person, they are extremely close. He was a goody two-shoes, high achieving kid, and was actually extremely popular in school despite being super shy. He went straight through enlistment, had his papers denied, went to community college for a few years and then enlisted again and got accepted. Has little to no dating experience, but doesnt mind it at all, he's open to experimentation.
the rest are below!!
Hangman
Navy family, 100%. Big big Texan family, he has seven siblings. Eight of them, total. He's the second eldest, having one older sister, a younger sister, a set of twin brothers, and two younger sisters. His parents dote on eachother 24/7 and even though his family is full of cocky SOBs, they're all very respectful actually. He followed in his mom's footsteps with becoming a Navy Pilot. He wasn't a 'write home to mom' kid but his parents loved him. Big football guy, captain of the team his junior and senior year of highschool and got a scholarship to Navy to play, extremely popular in high school, stereotypical jock, etc etc. He met Coyote, Fanboy, an Payback in Navy. Has dated all over, has the most sexual experience out of everyone, but is hoping to settle down eventually.
Coyote
From a "serve the people" family full of EMTs, Nurses, Doctors, Teachers, Firefighters, etc. Both of his older sisters are nurses, his mom is a career firefighter and his dad is a retired doctor turned EMT. Despite growing up hearing about it, he cannot handle surgery and injuries, so he went into the Navy to also have the serving the people esc. job. Southern vibes, maybe Georgia? Not sure exactly. Growing up he was pretty outgoing, but classified as nerdy so he wasn't super popular. He played baseball and was hella good at it, but did not want to make it a career because he didn't like the fame aspect of it. He played baseball for Navy in college though, which is where he met Hangman, Fanboy and Payback. Has only dated men, unsure if he's gay or bi, doesn't really care. He's just here for a good time damnit.
Fanboy
From a business savvy 9-5 family, and he hated the way they lived. He wanted to do something different, but ended up not getting much financial help for college-- so he went through the college route, and went to Navy, which is where he actually met Payback and Coyote. He has two younger brothers who are both taking over the family business, even with that strain he's still super close to them. They try to visit him a lot because the family is from Los Angeles. Growing up he was just your average student, but a really good football player. Played with Hangman in college as a running back. Has dated a bit, but not well versed.
Payback
Washington state kid, has lived on the West Coast his whole life. Only child with mass amounts of cousins. Was very popular in school, held a lot fo parties at his house, but also wasn't dumb and made sure people were always safe. Was a band kid-- drum line, but ended up stopping Marching Band in college. Average B/C student, nothing spectacular. He's dated pretty much every type of person, but isn't really looking for much romance at the moment, though he's very spontaneous so that could always change.

Misconception: He didn't love his brother. Is that.... True?
send me a misconception you think people have about my character and I’ll explain if it’s true or not.
heehee. so i'm gonna say heated things in this post, anon, and it's not because you asked the question. i love this question. when i strawman in here i'm referencing things i've seen in the tags and on other social media over the years. anyways, my first response when people bring this up is usually. that is an extremely complex thing to ask a teenager in michael's position. now, i'm not saying michael is The Victim, given that evan is literally dead. i'm extremely pro-michael responsibility. while it looks like the argument over whether or not he's the bully brother has died off somewhat ( or maybe i've just cultivated my experience a bit better lol ) i used to see so many Fourth Afton Siblings and it drove me insane. i craved that moral ambiguity, that is to say the ambiguity of the action / motivation, and the cloud that it left hanging over michael's story. i liked how it served a narrative where michael callously disregarded his sibling's safety and it got him killed, only for michael to try to be the best brother he could to his sister and lose her anyways, and in much the same way. i loved that michael wasn't perfect and rankled at the push for him to be distanced from the incident because it felt like people weren't willing to say that michael could be both a victim of abuse and a bully who got a kid mauled by taking a malicious prank too far.
which brings me back to the complexity. while it does not excuse michael's actions and certainly doesn't bring evan back, i don't think it's... disrespectful? choosing a side?? to say that michael was also in a bad situation. like. based solely off what we see in the games, michael and evan are on their own. we always see them home alone in an empty house. evan walks to and from freddy's without supervision ( not super unusual, but also something that, at the time, was becoming less common -- i like it as a prelude to the mci, where parents would stop allowing their children to go out alone ). he's spending time at a venue he not just dislikes, but is terrified of, on the regular -- and we don't know why, but i've always assumed that either william is bringing him to work with him or michael is dragging him there after school ( with evan then being free to walk home if he wants to, but he's also clearly discouraged from doing so, given the number of times he tries to 'escape' ). and now he's having his birthday party there. at the very least, his father is negligent. the only family member we see him with is michael.
we're entering headcanon territory now, so be warned of that. while i do a lot of research to back this up, i will also be upfront in saying that i'm spinning a narrative because i think it's appropriate for the setting and want to explore it. hence, there's nothing authoritative here, and i understand if it's not people's cup of tea. that said, michael is the oldest afton sibling. in a lot of places, especially that part of america, eldest / older children are expected to help raise their younger siblings. given that we don't see william around, let alone a mother, i've always come away with the impression that michael was left with a lot of the daily care of the kids. get them to and from school, help with their homework, make sure they shower and brush their teeth, etc. to some people that may sound extreme or dramatic, but it's reality for a lot of kids. they're made to grow up more quickly than their siblings or only children out of necessity. this isn't a blanket judgment of this practice, because 1) utah is not the only place on earth this happens and the cultural context in other places is different, so i don't want to smear that and 2) teaching children some responsibility is not necessarily a bad thing in my eyes.
it is, however, a lot of pressure on a kid. i've made michael four years older than evan and eight years older than elizabeth. those aren't insignificant age gaps, but while he slots more 'naturally' into that parental role for his sister, he and evan are much closer in age. he's twelve when evan is eight, fifteen when evan is eleven ( where i've placed the birthday party in the timeline ). he wants to be hanging out with friends and doing his own thing, and he's being held back ( in his mind ) by having to watch his siblings and, horror of horrors, take his brother with him when he goes places. probably not unusual for where they're living, again, but still. this would normally lead to some inter-sibling resentment, but there are additional layers to this.
one, i think michael struggles in school due to his situation at home. i think both the absence of his parents and the responsibility of watching his siblings are crunching his brain, and he's mentally ill and dyslexic in a school system not designed to accommodate him. if he doesn't make sure his brother's homework gets done, he gets in trouble. forget his own homework. if william and diane are working late, he's responsible for dinner. then he has to get them to bed. once that's done, he can do his own work / shower / whatever else he needs to do. he's exhausted.
two, he is being abused. the degree to which varies from person to person but this is my blog and i say that william was physically abusive. not only do i think there's more than enough evidence of this in the games ( midnight motorist, his comfort killing children when he has kids of his own ), but secondary research has all but proven to me that you almost never see cases of child killing without abuse going on in the house. you just. as a baseline. are not simultaneously a kind parent and a child murderer. to have your own children and to be comfortable killing somebody else's children may seem like two separate things in fiction, which is why i'm not against people saying that william was 'only a little' / not physically abusive, but in real life that just... doesn't happen. and my blog for the sci-fantasy horror series about possessed bear robot is historically inspired so we all just have to live with that.
a few things with the abuse, though. firstly, michael is learning violence in the home. he is being conditioned to accept physical harm as the norm, and his father is setting the example that the right way to cope with your emotions is to lash out. and not only is mike experiencing the normal heightened emotional state of puberty, he's angry and confused and upset because his father is mistreating him. he's being hurt and he has no one to appeal to ( another big historical theme for me: a lack of intervention in hurricane; not their children, not their problem, and heaven forbid someone tell another man how to run his household! ), he can't get away from it unless he wants to pack up a little rucksack and flee ( i do believe this happened at least once and he quickly got found and returned to his parents ), so he just has to sit. and stew in it. and not understand why it's happening. because there is no good reason for it. i'm very much not like. 'william abused michael because michael acted out!' the opposite, in fact. michael acted out because he was being abused -- and because he was a teenager! and that idea always rubbed me the wrong way because, to be quite honest, abusive parents do not need a 'reason' to hurt their kids. they don't need an inciting incident. i know parents are people, but abusive parents -- parents with a pattern of violence -- are gonna do what they do regardless of how their kids act. they can say there's a reason for it, but if there isn't? they'll invent one. so there shall be no 'mike was a bully and william started punishing him more harshly' here.
secondly, michael has to cope with his situation differently than his siblings. evan is a crybaby -- and rightfully so, given what he's going through! he also lives with an abusive father, though i don't believe he's william's usual target; that house is a nightmare and he is in it with the rest of them. plus, his brother bullies him! i would cry! but i think the crying is something that michael grows to resent very quickly. michael isn't 'allowed' to cry; he's a 'man', his father expects more from him. michael 'has it worse' than evan, so what does evan even have to cry about? michael doesn't cry when he gets mistreated, and 'nobody's' mistreating evan. evan, as far as michael is concerned, is being waited on hand-and-foot by him. he's the one helping with the homework and tying the shoelaces and walking him to school and picking him up at the end of the day. he's the one losing sleep and weekends with friends to take care of him. what the fuck could evan ever have to cry about? by that logic, maybe michael should give him something to cry about -- like william gives him something to cry about. because that's what real men do.
thirdly, as implied above, michael is the barrier. he's the oldest, he's the one who looks like william, he's the puberty-riddled mentally ill punk-leaning problem child. he is his father's target of choice. and i think he took pride in that fact when it first began, that he could take it, that he could serve as a shield. but he's a child and that didn't last long. how could it? he was being hurt. he just does not have the capacity to be like, 'no, i can do this for their sakes and be happy about it, it's good that it's me and not them.' few adults can do that without developing resentment for the people they're 'defending' ( especially when that's not what's really happening -- they're not 'defending' their siblings / children / etc. from anything, they're just being attacked ). but michael can't fight back against william. william is a grown adult and his father. so he gets mad at the only person he can do anything against in this equation: the other victim.
so we have a kid at an age where he normally wouldn't want to be hanging out with his younger brother, but he doesn't really have a choice. maybe some teasing would be normal, but this boy has been subjected to violence, and has, in his frustration and confusion, turned this violence upon his only feasible target. and it is violent. it's horrible. but is this hatred? is this evidence that michael hates his brother? i don't think so. i think they are in a fucking horrendous situation and they're just trying to survive. i don't think removed and sweeping concepts like 'michael loves his brother' or 'michael hates his brother' ( as if the two are mutually exclusive? ) apply here. michael took care of his brother. you could call that love. michael tormented his brother. you could call that hate. michael intended to frighten and maybe even hurt evan, but not to kill him, and it still resulted in evan's death. did he do it out of hate? if hate here is shorthand for 'a desire to see evan dead', no. if it's 'a desire to make evan uncomfortable and upset', maybe!
but like. i dunno. abusive households are like a pocket dimension. you need years of therapy to unpack that shit. i don't think sitting down and casting judgment on michael based on whether or not one believes that he 'hated' his brother is fair or worthwhile. with all that going on above, it's not even a thought exercise i'm interested in, if the end goal is to rank michael as a Good or Bad person. rather, i want to explore what would lead to an incident like that. maybe michael loved his brother, but in that house, expressing that love in any sort of healthy way was not an option. and that's far more compelling to me than 'michael was born bad' or 'michael is an unfeeling monster'.

hello riku and other birdfriends, this is in response to your "what is freeze/fawn like" post and i am about to ramble so hard about our experiences in your inbox
our dominant trigger response is freeze (and flight to a sense), and funny enough we can't really comprehend the fight response (so feel free to talk about that!)
we were always a shy/anxious child, and the nature of our abuse and upbringing play a pretty big part into why we react the way we do. nature and nurture that kind of thing.
start discussion of abuse
...
we were homeschooled by our mother for the entirety of pre-college, and given her... myriad of mental problems, we didn't really go out and socialize much. our mother was (and still is) very emotionally detached from us, and would frequently berate and frighten us for even the smallest inconveniences. all we could really do was sit there and take it, with nowhere but my room to run off to after we were done getting chewed out.
one of our traumaholders had a very vivid flashback earlier this year, and was practically locked up sobbing in the fetal position on the couch as they relived the memory of being hurt. that isn't the first time we've been frozen like that, feeling cornered and helpless, but this was the most recent and vivid for us.
...
end discussion of abuse
in my understanding, our freeze response is derived from our anxious disposition and being (essentially) bullied in our own home. the lack of other places to escape to left us with very little else to do but curl up and wait for the storm to pass.
sorry if this makes 0 sense or is otherwise hard to follow, the only way i know how to talk about things is thru my own experiences. and i'm lost in the (brain) fog.
also fuck it we ball. no anon for us this time
- 🔌🎮
*nodding nodding nodding* No no no that checks out that checks out. I like hearing some of these cause it helps me piece together a bit more of an image of the general concept of something otherwise foreign so it is MUCH appreciated.
I'm assuming what with the "curl up and wait for the storm to pass" am I right in inferring / assuming that then in the more default coping for not-directly trauma things would likely be a retreating to the sense of waiting for the storm (the stressors / anxiety source) to pass (go away with its own time) regardless of if there is a clear end point in place or not (cause mental illness duh)?
Because if I'm following and understanding, especially in situations such as the type you mentioned in your lived experience and from what I know from others and some personal experience, in past experiences the best way to get the stressor over would be to not engage as engaging would often worsen the situation. So it becomes a bit of a usual / default for a panicked brain used to those situations to assume the solution is to do nothing and wait for it to naturally and independently pass - thus like a storm?
I'm trying to understand this a bit by basing it off of how our personal things work but reversing certain aspects.
Cause - its a lot more complicated than this but for the sake of not sharing more than I'm supposed to and the post simplicity - we largely had to help our older siblings control our parents from a young age and quickly (when the eldest moved out) had to take on the responsibility of controlling our parents by ourselves in our early teens. So largely when issues came up, if they were not stopped at the bud, they would flourish into Huge Issues and my parents weren't going to stop themselves so we ended up playing the role of stopping them before they started.
So if fawn/freeze in your description would be a storm passing, fight/flight is more like preventing / avoiding the snowball turning into an avalanche.
For us, if there is an issue, we have to do something about it otherwise it not only wont get better, but it will likely get much much worse - regardless of if there is something that can be done, what in the case of a metaphorical storm.
But a lot of the time when we get triggered or in a flashback, we have to HAVE to do things. It varies greatly on which part is out because we are pretty evenly split on Flight Specialty and Fight Specialty.
Flight (my dominant coping) for me is doing literally everything and anything moderately related to whatever is stressing me out and making a clear plan and trying to forsee everything ahead and plan for every little thing that could go wrong or right and how to prevent it and (long long long list). Everything has to have a plan and be made out in my head and I am not joking that I used to have a "40 year plan" for my life as a result of this.
Fight (XIV's dominant coping) literally makes it so that if he is even remotely bothered by something he tends to get at least a strong draw to generate problems, find adrenaline, and instigate something if there is not an active issue - which he has done historically many times to a dangerous level in the past. In high levels of set off though, it drives a strong need to destroy, break, and maim things that to the part that if not satiated or able to match the level of stress / distress can then turn into self injury to try to fulfill it.
Something the both of us get (XIV more generally, me more specifically with bird-related issues) is that when we get trauma-related triggered on issues, it isn't uncommon for the only thing to be circling in our head is about how dangerous someone / something is and how inconsiderate / problematic and how fucked up and unfair that [thing] is and it circles and circles and circles brewing up a sense of vitrol each time that is really hard to contain if left to circle.
I mainly say this cause two days ago while trying to work my brain was like "Hey remember this thing said a few days ago??? Well lets replay it and get mildly triggered and the reaching implications and think about everything we need to say to the person who said this and make a list of every little issue that is implied with that statement because they absolutely are COMPLETELY inconsiderate and will not do better or be better unless I state this and if I don't state this I will be trapped and that ASSHOLE will win" and I was like
"pause. bro. self. were at an elementary school. there is no birds being threatened here. no one did anything. even the line we are looping is taken out of context and being stretched thin. chill. were ok"
But ya know, ramble bambles and sharing experiences for compare and contrast.

A. What is Means when you Love Someone When you love someone, you grow an attachment to them and care dearly for them even for their flaws and mistakes. You remember them from their slightest likes to their biggest dislikes and associate some trinkets from our daily life with that person. For me, that person is my stepmother, Lily, but I don’t like to use the word stepmother because to me, it has some sort of facet to it that means “not real”. I like to think of Lily as my real mother because I grew up in her care and love.
B. Lily and Her Past Lily grew up in Nueva Vizcaya as the eldest from her three siblings. She grew up under the care of her loving and caring, yet a bit strict mother and father who was very strict compared to her mother, but one who was selfless, generous, and a bit of a neat-freak. Oftentimes, Lily’s parents would not be at their home due to their commitments to their jobs. Thus, this is why the Christmas holiday season is Lily’s favorite memory from her childhood because this was the only time that her and her family could be complete and together for the whole day for a few weeks. As Lily grew up and got to high school, she described it as one of the most fun and exciting years of her life. She was once a teenager like the rest of us but she was different, she didn’t have much friends but she was an academically great and diligent student who had plenty of enjoyable extracurricular activities. In her college years, she always wanted to take on a degree program related to business such as accountancy, but due to her family’s financial struggles, she ended up taking and finishing a degree in education to which she was still thankful for. She also added and emphasized that college the time where she really felt that she matured the most. Lastly, college was something she had to take seriously because it was the time where after you finish it, you are set on the outside world on your own.
C. How the Past casts a Ripple in the Present As we previously discussed in our psychology class, there are different approaches into examining people’s behavior psychologically. There are actually five different approaches: biological, psychoanalytic, humanistic, behavioral, and cognitive. In explaining and analyzing certain phenomena with Lily’s behavior, given this information about her past, a psychoanalytic approach would be the best since this examines the past to explain the present. First of all, why Lily liked the Christmas holiday season could be because of an unconscious desire to always have a sense of completeness with the people around her. Another I’d like to analyze, but this type from a humanistic approach, is perhaps why Lily felt that college is the phase in her life where she most matured. Due to her past experiences in college such as shifting from that exciting high school teenage girl to being that super serious studious college woman gave her a sense of growth that she took as a sign of maturity.
D. The Lily's Reflection within the Waters During my interview with Lily, my favorite part was when I asked her about what she thinks are her own positive and negative qualities as a person. When asked about the positives, the words she said were independent, strong, caring, loving, optimistic, and understanding. Based on these qualities, I believe that Lily might be leaned towards introversion.
According to Carl Jung’s extroversion and introversion theory for personality, extraversion happens when an individual diverts their energy towards things or people outside themselves while for introversion, it is the complete opposite as they tend to just direct the energy inward towards themselves (Koblin, 2021). However, Jung also believed that no one is fully extroverted or introverted, we just tend to associate ourselves with one more than the other because we are composed of more traits and characteristics from that side. With this being said, Lily could be an introvert that still has some traits that give a sense of extroversion such as strong and loving.
E. Diving Deeper into the River To give a more detailed explanation of Lily’s personality, I would also like to analyze this using the Four Color Circle categorization which we tackled four different colors that were associated with specific traits. These colors were cool blue, fiery red, earth green, and sunshine yellow. In one of my past blog posts, I have discussed on these colors with detail, but just for this blog post, I firmly believe that Lily has more of an earth green type of personality. The earth green is an introverted color with qualities of being patient, encouraging, and caring and these are traits associated with Lily more, but I think what’s so unique about this personality categorization/theory, as I have mentioned in one of my previous blog posts, is that you may use it to make your own color combinations if you don’t fit in one color shade.
Going back to the interview with Lily, of course, she also gave the negative qualities she thinks she has. She named them to being overly sensitive and emotional, and extremely demanding. On the other hand, the traits I actually mentioned for earth green were those for the “good day” part; for the bad day, they are being bland, stubborn, and docile, which are all completely different from what Lily’s negative traits are. Thus, I think this is where making color combinations with the colors comes in. Lily’s negative self-assessed qualities are fit more with a combination of fiery red and sunshine yellow’s “bad day” traits. Therefore, Lily may not be just all earth green, she can be earth green on the outside perhaps and all the orange combinations can be inside.
To give further analysis to Lily’s personality and specific habits and behaviors related to her personality, I will be using the biological approach in examining psychology which seeks to explain human behavior through pathological and physical processes that happen within the human body and brain.
F. The Petals Sometimes Wither During the interview, Lily also mentioned that she was sometimes highly irritable, and I also know this since she is my mother, and I am with her every day. Oftentimes, she would appear to be paler with her forehead curled up looking like she is about to explode. I asked her why she is like this sometimes and she thinks that is because of her high blood pressure or hypertension and migraines that she gets that causes her to behave this way. She might be right since according to my research, there is a study that suggests that anxiety and irritability have a significant correlation with blood pressure (Deter et. al, 2006). It turns out that our biological aspects or more specifically, our health problems, can still affect our psychological processes and behaviors.
As I ended the interview, I asked her what life advice she would give to other people and the words she said were: “Be kind and understanding because if you’re not, you’re just making things hard for yourself”. When she said this, I could not help but wonder why these were her words. Primarily most of this came from her own personality if being caring and encouraging, but what about the rest? Could there have been some past experience that shaped her unconscious desires that led to this being her advice? Or perhaps a stimulus that triggered this response?
G. The Grand Takeaway Psychology is everywhere and it doesn’t stop, not even with our loved ones and ourselves. As I have mentioned, Lily is someone I truly hold close to my heart and psychologically analyzing her motivates me more to make myself get to know her bit by bit every day because after all, there is no better way to spend time with your loved ones every day than getting to know them more and more, slowly and surely.

I always imagined Abbacchio to be a bit of a teacher’s pet as a kid lol. Your writing brings me life tysm!!!!
warnings for abusive family, human experimentation, misogyny, illness, hospitals, death, etc!
Risotto’s family did not care much about him. He’s the middle child of five - they grew up in a rural part of Sicily, in a house that used to be a farmhouse but was merely a house by the time Risotto came along (aside from a flock of chickens constantly in the gardens). He had a traditional Italian family full of people - various aunts, uncles and cousins - but his cousin was his favourite, seeing in Risotto’s quiet nature something similar to his own. Risotto was uncomfortable with there being too many people around and found his home life cramped and uncomfortable and loud. At the local village school he was often hunted out for games of sport (his height and muscle growing in at an early age), but he shied away from making friends, not sure how to handle himself around people who shouted and laughed, envying his siblings for everything seeming so natural. He often stayed with the cousin, and it’s through them he discovered metal music and his now signature look. His parents didn’t have time for him, but his cousin always did, becoming a makeshift father figure where Risotto’s failed. He grew very attached, and as we know, his cousins death hit him hard.
Formaggio grew up with a single father; his mother simply disappeared in the middle of the night and he never heard from her again. He was always loud, brash and cocky - his father was much the same way. They moved around from place to place, his father taking odd jobs to sustain them and never really getting the hang of them. His father was fairly young and a perpetual teenager, and Formaggio was much the same way. Despite living in occasional poverty, he always had a smile and he and his father were close to one another. He did not really make friends - other children were aware of his unwashed clothes, the fact his lunch was not made as neatly as theirs, the fact that his address was a one-bedroom apartment on the bad side of town - so he turned to acting out and violence, gaining a reputation as a Badly Behaved Child. His father fell into Passione in the need to support his son, and like father like son, Formaggio followed in his footsteps at fourteen (finding a camaraderie and sense of responsibility he never had at school and subsequently just stopping going there).
Illuso got into Passione for the money and the power. He was an only child and he had a nice upbringing, honestly - he just found himself not special at anything, and he desperately wanted to be. He flitted from hobby to hobby and interest to interest; he was clever and he noticed things, and neither of his parents really knew how to deal with their sharp-tongued child. He was a bit of a bully at school, but not the kind that is ever found out - Illuso’s bullying was quieter than that, whispered words and rumours that never seemed to find their way back to him. He was well-acquainted with blackmail before he turned sixteen. He knew how to sniff out weaknesses in other people - he was always surrounded by people, but it was a lottery as to whether they liked Illuso or whether they just didn’t want to be on his wrong side. Always willing to volunteer for things, too confident for his own good - eventually, he stopped caring about being ‘special’ at something, and just worked on being the ‘best around him’.
Melone’s backstory can be found here. Both of his parents were academics and lecturers in genetic science, and he’s the eldest child by eight years. His family moved around rather a lot. He has two younger sets of twins as siblings; one set of boys, and one set of girls. Growing up, his parents considered him less interesting and a little slow - he turned to science and genetics as a way to get their attention and praise; despite the fact he showed a natural affinity for it, by this time, they were far more interested in experimenting on their younger children and Melone was ignored. His nature is curious and insistent - he learnt to insist or to be ignored. He had to look after his younger siblings a lot growing up; they were home-schooled where he was not, and the strange separation of them and him and all of the children at school (Melone not quite fitting into either group) meant that he always seemed just a little off.
Prosciutto is a mafia man through and through. His family are entrenched in old bloodlines and uninvestigated deaths - unfortunately, though, they are a family that had somewhat fallen from grace by Prosciutto’s birth. The definition of faded glamour and keeping up appearances; rooms in a big, drafty old house that have an old bed and a falling apart dressing table. His father always talked to him about how it was his and his brothers’ job to keep the bloodline going - a traditional chauvinist of a man. His mother was very quiet and pretty; she encouraged him to small interests like old music and fashion, but was always silent around her husband. He grew up knowing his life was expendable. Youngest son of two; his elder brother died within months of finally being given his assignment within Passione and honestly, Prosciutto knows his father would rather he have died. A quiet little boy who did not make friends (he had a tutor) and had too much of the weight of the world on his shoulders in the knowledge of how many of his mother’s jewels were pasteboard, where the guns were kept, and just how many people he saw regularly were murderers. At his assignment at sixteen, Prosciutto had to learn exactly how to blend in, because many of the mafiosos he was suddenly surrounded by did not appreciate what they saw as his superiority.
Pesci was an only child of a single mother; his father passed away when he was young. He was rather sickly growing up, and it made his mother indulgent - despite growing up fairly middle class, he never wanted for anything, and they lived well beyond their means. His mother fussed over him, always afraid that he was going to have a relapse into his childhood illness - very much a child wrapped in cotton wool. It gave him his own complex about taking risks; he didn’t want to get hurt. He didn’t want to be rejected by other children. He was slow at his schoolwork but devoted to his mother, and other children saw him as a prime target to bully. He was kicked around a lot at school and it eventually made him too easy to subdue when he suddenly filled out and shot up and became a threat; found himself, too often, a henchman to more articulate, meaner children. Grateful to be accepted, he went along with the flow, despite feeling in the very core of his gut that he was disgusted by them. He ended up in Passione because his mother needed medical treatment and in trying to sort it out realised just how much debt they were in.
Ghiaccio just had a normal run-of-the-mill described as ‘average’ by everyone upbringing - both of his parents, an only child, a mother with a professional job, middle-class. His father was partially deaf - in my experience, people with deaf parents either speak very loudly or very quietly, and Ghiaccio has gone for the former. He learnt LIS at a very early age, and it’s part of the reason he can be so anal about pronunciation and language as a whole - he’s utterly fascinated by it, and that fascination started in early childhood. His parents were also indulgent of him, but having a younger brother meant that he didn’t get the full brunt of that indulgence - his brother was a little more of a ‘rough and tumble’ boy. He liked football and weights, and when he took up a sport Ghiaccio’s parents decided Ghiaccio should learn to do something too and asked him what he thought - they were surprised when he said ice skating, but figured he would go into ice hockey or something. He didn’t. For a while, he was fairly well-known in the competitive figure skating under eighteens circuit. It gave him two things; one, a competitive need to win and be good at things (and a propensity to tantrum when he lost) and two, a taste for flashy, expensive things (have you seen this man’s car). His parents eventually didn’t know how to deal with his arrogance, and he fell into Passione based on a ‘sponsor’ he ended up embroiled with at nineteen when his parents didn’t want to fund his ‘hobby’ anymore (they kept pouring resources into his younger brother, of course - Ghiaccio always felt a bit like they didn’t take him seriously). He left ice skating competitively behind, but he couldn’t leave behind the nice things or the anger issues he accrued.
I’ve written about Sorbet and Gelato’s childhood/backstory here! But a brief, shorter version:
Gelato had a loving family and a privileged upbringing. Always enough money, always enough to eat - an only child, who perhaps was a little rowdy at school but whomst his parents were very proud of. Both of them were traditional types; thinks a man should be strong, should be the real driving force of all relationships - they were extremely proud of him going into the army. Cleverer than people tend to give him credit for, sharp-eyed, a constant humming need to be doing something with his hands.
Sorbet was orphaned at a young age in a house fire and taken in by a church orphanage. He’s quiet but equally clever; his cleverness tends to be a little less in your face. He was a comforting presence to other people and took care of the younger boys (even now, he feels a sense of duty to some of La Squadra) - being low-voiced, soothing and commanding. He spent a lot of time reading. The church orphanage was poor; Sorbet has learnt to appreciate luxury where Gelato takes it for granted and it’s part of the reason he’s so concerned with finances even in his forties.
Abbacchio grew up in a houseful of women. His father left when he was still young; he was . . . not a nice man, and Abbacchio has vague memories of his mother carefully applying concealer over black eyes. It’s part of the reason Abbacchio became a police officer - knowing that he was still out there, not paying for what he’d done . . . Abbacchio wanted to ensure other people did not go through it. He had a little sister (by six years) who adored him, and his grandmother (who had once been an opera singer and still had a touch of that old-time glamour). He was fairly well off; at least, after he and his mother went to live with her mother again. His grandmother was EXTREMELY indulgent of her serious pretty-eyed grandson (his affinity for opera comes from her) who wanted so hard to be a Good Man. He was made fun of as a child for being a teacher’s pet and a nerd, you’re right - he adopted being a goth and dressing like that fairly early in his life. Nobody was going to threaten to punch him in leather and black lipstick, he thought - and nobody, too, needed to know that his CD player was blasting Monteverdi and not heavy metal.
Mista was the only child of an unreliable mother and a father who left when he was four (he kept very vaguely in touch; Mista has three little sisters who he sees occasionally but keeps quiet about his employ to. After the events of VA, he’s established a fund for each of them, but he wasn’t really permitted to see them much growing up). Even after his parents leaving and his neighbour’s loss of an eye (and the subsequent setting in of his fear of the number four), he was an easy-going child who made friends easily and smiled at all and sundry; he was never particularly book-clever, but he was good-natured and had many friends. His mother’s lack of reliability meant that he became very fond of simple things other people took for granted - when she died, he was sad, but his life did not change much. He’d already learnt to fend for himself when it came to food and the like; often coming home to an empty house and simply making do. (The lack of food in the house is part of the reason he gained such an affinity for things he saw as luxuries like wines and cheeses). He learnt to use his dark eyes and charming smile and warm nature to win sleepovers with schoolfriends and evening meals with their parents. Always a little bit behind his peers in having cool gadgets or interesting stories, Mista was content just to have a simple life and good health.

let’s talk unreliability real quick: bnha 291
so in light of recent bnha events, i wanted to write up a real quick thing on unreliable narrators based on some things i’ve seen going around and some stuff from my own experience based on my work with unreliability.
just because someone says something in canon story, doesn’t actual mean that’s exactly how things are. there’s some important factors that play into how much you can trust information from a character.
some of the main ones being:
how old were they?
what circumstances were they in?
could they be reliably asked to remember this event?
how much information were they privy too and how much are they assuming?
do they have a reason to lie?
let’s look at shouto for example:
shouto is the youngest of four. he is probably about 9 or so years younger than his eldest sibling. that means there was a lot of time before him for family relationships to strengthen or in this case deteriorate.
additionally shouto went through some pretty severe trauma when he was very young. reliably we know he was trained to the point of throwing up at five years old, witnessed his mother’s mental state deteriorate and be abused by his father, walked in on his mother having a severe mental breakdown overhearing her talking about his left side being unsightly and proceeding to pour boiling water on it, and was kept separated from his siblings with little social contact.
FURTHER, we’ve only ever seen shouto actively place blame on two people. himself and his father. even though it is for very valid reason, we know that at least to start he was more than willing to assume the worst of endeavour.
we also have canonical proof that shouto had suppressed/forgotten important memories of his childhood. so we know his memory might not be the most reliable.
what does all this mean?
shouto is in no way the most reliable narrator to discuss about the todoroki family. while he doesn’t really have any reason to lie about what happened, he was in a position to misinterpret or remember things.
this doesn’t mean he’s wrong. it just means there’s too many blank spots in shouto’s memory and understanding and too much bias for him to be an actively reliable perspective into his family’s situation as a whole.
he can probably pretty accurately speak about his experience, but anything he’s said about his family before he was born can pretty reasonable be called into question.
and you can run down the list of todoroki’s and see that well…none of them are necessarily reliable.
natsuo:
second youngest, most of his memories are from a time that we know was definitively bad
closest with some of the family members who suffered the most
neglected by endeavour, shaping his opinion of endeavour but also not leaving him privy to much info
fuyumi:
her biggest issue is the information she is privy to.
has expressed a very clear desire to mend the family, and does have reason to downplay certain events or moments
she was still a kid when things happened and most of her memories are probably largely tainted by emotion
in general i’d say fuyumi is probably the one of the most reliable of the todoroki’s though.
rei:
suffered severe mental distress
we don’t know much about rei and her experience before shouto which makes it hard to judge how reliable of a narrator she is
enji:
went through at least some period of time where he was a shit father
did have strong emotions and ambition that could have blinded him — but since his atonement arc has started, has very little reason to deviate from the truth
in general though, hate me for saying it, at this point in the story he is probably the most reliable narrator in the todoroki family.
and then of course there’s dabi, which brings us to the whole point of this post.
dabi is probably the most unreliable of all the todoroki’s as a speaker. not only was he a kid when shit went down, he also is the only todoroki who has motive to lie or over-exaggerate events.
dabi’s play right now is to ruin endeavour. and yes, most of what he says probably has some truth involved. but keep in mind dabi is a very biased perspective and is gunning for maximum damage. he wants to destroy endeavour’s legacy (and probably shouto’s by extension). he wants to hit them where it hurts.
which means that any new information dabi gives isn’t automatically what happened. we already know in his grand reveal video he’s willing to bend the truth, remove context and leave out important details (exhibit a — hawks). we should expect that he is doing the same in regards to his story about endeavour. he’s trying to cast endeavour in the worst light possible so he is not revealing anything potentially redeeming about the man.
compare dabi’s story to the flashbacks endeavour has. they are full of contradictions.
so which one do we trust?
if endeavour says one thing and dabi says another — quite frankly, it’s probably more likely that endeavour is telling the truth. even if its not an intentional lie on dabi’s part. dabi’s experience was when he was younger, very emotional charged and in a very negative place. that has probably coloured his perspective of everything.
and as mentioned before, he has very clear reason to not tell the whole truth if it might be able to help endeavour’s case.
on the other hand, especially internally, endeavour has no reason to lie or hide the truth. his whole atonement is about him acknowledging that what he did was wrong. and he has — internally at least. he has acknowledged his faults. and really there’s no motive for him to lie to himself. he was old enough to understand and process his actions. and it wasn’t quite as emotional for him as the kids (who were developing at that time and emotion often would take precedent over fact).
so just keep that in mind as official translations come out and future chapters and more information gets exposed.
dabi wants to paint endeavour in the worst possible light. some of what we know about the todoroki’s come from shouto, who could very well be a very unreliable narrator in that regard. all of what we know about the todoroki’s could be very biased and influenced by their collective awful experiences.
(the follow up to this is that when somebody has an interpretation you don’t entirely agree with — they might not be wrong. there is a lot we don’t know. and a lot that we assume to be true but could very easily be proven false. both dabi and endeavour have done wrong and the story we get might not be 100% accurate. so whether you are pro or anti endeavour — keep unreliability in mind. you can’t necessarily take every character at their word)

Hi! Can I request a ship with BTS?
My appearance: I am 5'4", long brown hair, brown eyes, medium skin with pink undertones. I a bit on the thick side though have a bit hourglass shape which is not very prominent. I think my smile and hair are my best feature.
My personality: I am an ambivert,so I like being social, meeting different social groups, talking to them, experiencing new things I am also very reserved. I have very few close friends but they mean the world to me. I am their unpaid therapist of our group. Like I give them advices when needed, try to understand them. I am very observant and can read people/situation in a room like a book. So I know my words or action. I am also very clear about my opinions and decisions. I am usually a laid back, easy going person but if something catches my eye,I try to learn and know everything about it. I am also very passionate and hard working. I know when it's time to get serious and time to have fun. I have an elder sibling and once I hit 14,our roles got reversed. So I like taking care of others, doesn't matter if they are elder/younger than me. I am also a responsible person who is very independent. I like spontaneous trips or going to new places but not all the time. I like to lay back and chill as well. I hate dieting and exercising but I follow a small workout routine.
My hobbies: I love editting videos and pics, drawing, sketching singing and baking. I love any form of art as in photography, music, dance, theatre etc. I hate dieting so most of the time I am looking up recipies to make dishes in a healthy way. I also love reading about history/conspiracy theories/space/nature poems/new language/anything that catches my eye. Knowledge is power for me. I day dream often and I write a lot. I love taking walks in nature as it really calms me down. I like observing and absorbing everything while sitting on a bench in a park. Whenever I visit my country house,I usually like staying out in the open nature and walking around. I also like fishing.
Ideal type: I find broad physique very attractive. I don't need abs,but maybe broad chest/broad shoulders-something like that. Someone who is elder than me(mommy issues lmao) who is a bit motherly. Someone who reminds me to eat/sleep when I have too much stress going on. He should be very funny and humourous since I want a love-laugh-live relationship. But I also wanna spend quiet times as well, like on the couch. He should love eating and know cooking so we can have small cooking dates. He should also love learning so we can learn and talk about new things together. I value honesty and trust a lot in a relationship. So my partner should trust me 100%. I am an independent but committed person, but I don't commit easily. Do someone who has an air of mystery as well,I like the chase, someone who on one glance makes it feel he is very open but we realise he is actually mysterious. I don't like pda much so hugging and holding hands is fine. He should also be reserved about our relationship and not always jump into it. I like it when someone pets my head(like a dog),I find it very affectionate. My love language would be small gifts, mostly handmade but giving them flowers, hugging from the back like a koala, but only with that person.
First, I jokingly already answered this before you gave me this description, so you will have two posts! lol
https://justkpopfansofficial.tumblr.com/post/656985307071250432/hi-i-wanted-a-ship-request-with-a-bts-member
Second, I actually see two people that may fit your description well.
Tumblr media
The first might be a bit two stereotypical based on your ideal type, but Seokjin fits that bill very well. He's obviously someone who fills the role of taking care of others, making sure they are healthy and fed. He very often gets placed with the responsibility to take care of other 6 being the eldest, so he would have experience with cooking and comfort. He's also a responsible, independent individual and the person people would go to for advice. He's also consider an introvert who is very social. He matches well with your personality trying to be understanding, open, strong in his own moral compass, willing to learn more, and know when to be playful. He appears that he would be quite conservative in a romantic relationship, being affectionate without too much PDA.
We've also seen that he likes doing activities outside like hiking and fishing so he would be a good companion on your nature excursions. Based on all the small gifts he has made for his fandom, his love language might by in giving, whether that means in tangible gifts or in compliments and kind actions.
The other person that appears would also match you well would be Jungkook.
Tumblr media
Jungkook's actions towards others is very similar to Jin's. The difference would be in the level of expertise. Instead of being as well versed in taking care of others, he would be eager to learn what you would need to take care of YOU specifically.
Similarly, he's also introverted, but not as social. It would take a bit more to bring him out of his shell. Where he excels at is his thirst to learn and try all kinds of things. He would be more adventurous than Jin, willing to go on trips or have a day of saying yes to everything. He's also into many of the hobbies you are, showing a proclivity for digital editing, performance arts, and drawing.
He would also be more laid back at times when you would need quiet and chill days where Jin can sometimes gets bored and needy. Jungkook would be more adept at giving you space to recharge.
Both are strong in their convictions, but Jungkook even more so, almost to the point of stubborness. If he doesn't think something is right, you cannot sway him.
Both have an aura about them that they seem personable and approachable, but that you don't always know what's going on in their head or that there is more beneath the surface.
Either way, these two would be attentive and adjust to what would make you feel happy and secure in the relationship. Both seem difficult to commit to anything too serious, but when they do, they give it their all.

Writing Sibling Relationships
A sibling relationship is perhaps one of the most complicated things to realistically write about. Your character dynamics and personalities will help determine their relationships but here are some things to consider:
Building their past:
Think about how they were raised. Upbringing plays a large role in impacting a person's character, and it also helps shape relationships with siblings.
Consider their favourite memories. Good memories are important to a person, and people often seek to create new memories similar to the old good ones.  On the other side, also think about their worst memories.
Who was the oldest? Who was the baby? Birth order does have some impact on personality. It also is especially important for the earliest memories.
Think about the roles that they ended up in. Siblings do, to some extent, define themselves by how they are different from each other. They pursue different interests, take on different roles, and explore different identities. These roles can be a source of self-realisation and sometimes frustration.
Giving siblings personalities:
Choose personality traits for each sibling. Even if the sibling is only a minor character, it's important to know their basic personality.
Think about each character's dreams, hopes, and struggles. What do they want in life? What are their goals? Every character needs something to strive for.
Figure out their insecurities. Everyone feels insecure about different things: skills, personality traits, perceived physical flaws etc.
The siblings in your story might have similar looks, qualities and characteristics. However it’s important to make them their own person too.
Keep in mind that siblings might have the same habits, sometimes without even realising it. (Personal example- My eldest brother and I do not look the same. He has green eyes, mine are brown. I have dark hair, he’s blonde. Our faces are shaped different. He takes after our mum, I take after our dad. However, we have a lot of the same habits and mannerisms. We both carry ourselves in the same way, we both quirk our eyebrows in the same manner when confused. Little things like that, that when growing up I’ve picked up from him and vice versa.)
Things siblings do: (This is a generalisation)
Siblings know how to push each others buttons.
Usually they spend so much time with each other, they know exactly how to annoy their sibling and the best way to do it.
Whatever annoys your character, his (or her) siblings already know about it. If your character’s siblings decide to get on his nerves, it shouldn’t take them very long.
Most (if not all) siblings make fun of each other to some degree. Usually they are just messing with each other. Depending on the circumstances, the insult may be forgotten almost immediately.
But it’s important to consider how siblings react when someone else is picking on their brother or sister. A lot of siblings will get defensive in this situation.  Unless you have set up a reason otherwise, make sure your siblings know how to tease each other but also how to protect each other.
They rarely call each other “sis” or “bro” unless they’re trying to be annoying. This is seen a lot in films and TV but it’s not common. The occasional greeting like that is fine, but overusing it just sounds strange and unnatural.
Sibling conflict:
Siblings will argue other pretty much anything. Most of the time it’s just to get a reaction. Sometimes one will start an argument just because they’re bored.
The silent treatment! A lot of siblings, particularly children teenagers and young adults will give each other the silent treatment over the pettiest things. But it’s incredibly hard to ignore someone living in the same house as you for a long period of time.
The sibling on the receiving end of the silent treatment will usually do absurd and annoying things to get their brother or sister to speak.
Common things siblings argue about:
The tv remote
Who is going to use the bathroom first
Someone is taking too long in the bathroom
Who gets to sit in the front seat of the car
Who the favourite is
Estranged siblings:
“Sibling relationships are our longest, but it’s also an accident by birth. There are no guarantees that the siblings will grow up with similar personalities, interests or like each other,”
You should be able to find plenty of conflict amongst brothers and sisters. But most of the time there is a resolution.
If you were to fall out with a friend, you can unfriend them, you can’t un-sister a sister, whether you like it or not you’re stuck with that person in some sense.
However, some siblings do fall out and never speak to each other again. It happens, but if this happens in your story there are a few things to consider:
When asked about their family will your character acknowledge that they have siblings? Or will they claim to be an only child?
Why did they stop speaking?
Would they reconcile in times of crisis? For example, if a family member died would the siblings put aside their differences to deal with the situation?
Do they tell stories about their childhood that include the sibling?
It’s important to remember that if someone has a sibling, a lot of their childhood memories and stories from growing up will have some reference or include that sibling. It’s hard to complete cut them out, they will be mentioned at some point.
Given the entangled, long-lasting bond, what’s the price paid for suspending or ending it?
Does the sibling have other brothers or sisters whose relationships are satisfying? “
“If they have no contact with a sibling, it’s losing a shared history and there can be a sense of guilt,”
Or are your character’s relieved? Do they express a sense of relief.
“Like the end of a marriage, sibling estrangement is always sad, even when it brings relief. It’s not what anyone hoped for, but sometimes it’s the wise and necessary choice.”
Ways of bringing together estranged siblings:
Write compassion between your characters. Show them trying to see things from the sibling’s viewpoint alongside their own.
Have them say what they want from their sibling moving forward. Don’t just have your characters vent all the time. Your reader might grow tired of that.
Confirmation of love and affection:
Are the siblings in your story the type to talk about feelings? Maybe they don’t talk about it but the feeling is still there. Consider showing the depth of their relationship through actions.
(Personal example - When I was born my brothers were 4 and 6 years older than me. From what my mum has said they were both excited to have another sibling and would fight about who got to hold me first. When we were younger we used to cuddle on the sofa and play together, and frequently said I love you etc,  however as we got older that stopped. I can’t remember the last time I said I love you to either of them, which sounds terrible. But it doesn’t change the fact that I know they love me and that they know I love them, we just show it and say it in different ways.)
Relationships with parents:
How did parents or caregivers react to fights between siblings?
Was there parental favouritism, real or perceived? How did the non-favourite sibling(s) react?
Do your siblings stick together when arguing with their parents?
Would your characters lie in order to prevent their brother or sister being told off by their parents?
Some siblings will join forces to tease their parents.
What if the siblings don’t have a good relationship with their parents:
If this is the case in your story, research it, google is your friend.
Try and read up on real life experiences.
Consider how the siblings view their parents. Do they stand together with the same opinion or do they have conflicting recollection of events?
Do the parents have a healthy relationship with each other? How has this impacted their children?
Writing siblings who have abusive parents:
If the siblings come from an abusive home, how has this affect their behaviour?
Do the siblings ever talk about what happened?
Do they have the share the same experience? Do they ever argue about the situation?
Are they over protective?
Has their own relationship become strained? Have they drifted apart?
Do the siblings ever acknowledge the past? If not, does this cause friction?
Common assumptions about sibling age order:
Oldest child: people pleasing, bossy, organised, punctual, natural leader, controlling, ambitious, expected to uphold family values, caretakers, financially intelligent, responsible
Middle child: flexible, easy going, independent, sometimes feels like life is unfair, sometimes will engage in attention-seeking behaviour, competitive.
Youngest child: silly or funny, risk-taking, creative, sometimes feels inferior, easily bores, friendly, outgoing, idealistic, the baby of the family.
Only child: close to parents, demanding, leaders, spoiled, self-absorbed, private in nature, may relate better to adults to kids their own age, independent, responsible
While these are common assumptions, they are not strictly true and it’s important to consider your characters personality before you apply any of these stereotypes because it may clash with how your character truly is.
Half siblings:
Half-siblings can run along several lines:
They might act like full siblings, depending on how long they’ve known each other.
They may view each other as space takers.
Your characters may feel “eh” about their half- sibling, they could just be someone who is there but they don’t have a relationship with. The half-sibling may even be a complete stranger.
Consider that they might be rivals. Are they friendly rivals or bitter rivals?
Don’t get caught up in trying to build their relationship based on what “should be” in accordance with society. As you establish these characters, let your own imagination lead you to what their relationship is. But remember that their relationship will be impacted on how the parents treat them too.
(@its-the-tear-in-my-heart thanks for asking about sibling relationships. This post is more generalised than your question but I hope it helped in some way.)

Let’s talk about Ben becoming Sparrow!Ben / Number one
So, I just watched the end TUA s2 yesterday and it really made me think about Ben (but, then again he’s the only one I usually think about). It’s amazing that in this timeline, HE’S NUMBER ONE. He’s the one with the painting in the main room and he’s basically the leader of the team now.
But how did that happen? Of course the timeline now is different but, what were the reasons that led up to that?
Please bear with me, this will be one long ass meta under the readmore.
I think the main reasons are Klaus and Vanya.
Now let me explain first. Let’s start with Klaus.
Klaus is obviously the closest sibling to Ben. Even when they were young, it had been obvious and basically canon already that they were each other’s best friends within the group of siblings. We even have that one scene where Vanya was destroying the house in s1 and reminiscing horrible memories and her memories were of BEN AND KLAUS TOGETHER in one memory
Tumblr media
Also, prob a bit of Horrance because this was taken from a Horrance post. But, please bear with me. I would like to point out, shippy or not shippy that it seems that they were also close enough to want to SHARE A ROOM TOGETHER.
Tumblr media
I adjusted the brightness of the picture above and confirmed that yes. THAT IS ANOTHER BED. THERE IS ANOTHER BED IN THIS ROOM SO IT IS NOT A FAR REACH TO THINK THAT BEN AND KLAUS SHARED A ROOM.
Tumblr media
And seriously? With how rich their father is you know he would be decent enough to give every child their own room.
But what I get from this is that not only are they close, but how Ben can also be protective and caring of Klaus. Let’s go back to episode 4 in s1 where Reginald locked him in a mausoleum. From that experience alone, Klaus would’ve been vulnerable, afraid, claustrophobic, and obviously traumatized. He’s Ben’s best friend and most closest sibling. Ben is a softy from what I can see, he cares very deeply and is a concerned person. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he was the one to suggest to Klaus that they start sleeping in one room together.
I think seeing his brother being afraid of the dark and unable to function properly brought out his primal instinct to protect and care. He allowed himself to be emotionally vulnerable in a way that he shows and acts that he cares. In their world, that would have been a big mistake. Showing weakness by letting people know that you care and would get hurt if this person were to be hurt is something that can get used against you. I would not put it past Reginald of slipping that kind of idea into them.
Yes, you protect your siblings because you can die from not defending one another. But why protect them from your own father? Why protect them and care for them? If they’re weak, then that’s good for you because you can climb up higher into Daddy’s ranking and get a better position. But no, Ben let himself care and damned it all for his best friend.
And going back to the pictures above, I know that Vanya sees Ben’s words as a stinging knife to the heart. Reminding her once again that she, out of all the siblings, is the un-special one. But you also have to take in the fact that there is such a thing as tough love. I can imagine young!Vanya looking up to her siblings and asking them about their missions and probably in more than one occasion begging for them to tag her along, just smuggle her out of the house. Let her see and experience what it’s like to be a hero like them.
She comes to Ben and Klaus for that. I think out of all the siblings, Vanya is actually closest to Ben in a way that Ben also sees her as someone to protect. Vanya is their *ehem* “most fragile” *ehem* sibling, the one with “no powers” so he has also been protective of her. I can imagine him trying to befriend and play with her as much as he can, including her in many things because he sees that she’s miserable and always alone.
We can even imagine Ben trying to either train with her and worrying about her at some nights. She lives in a house full of people with superpowers and she’s just ordinary. What if one day, someone attacks them and he wouldn’t be able to protect Vanya? What if one day there will come a time that they can’t defend someone evil and he’s gone? How will Vanya survive? How can he keep Vanya safe and protect her at the same time?
Ben sees Vanya and Klaus as people he has to take care of.
Let’s also not forget the fact that Vanya practically told all of us that Ben was the glue keeping them all together. s1 ep3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here she tells her readers how distraught everyone was for Ben’s death. And that him dying was basically the last straw, nobody could get along anymore because I think, Ben was their peacemaker.
Yes, we have Luther who is by their vote and their father’s, the “eldest” sibling, but being the eldest doesn’t mean you can be the mediator. He is the stereotype definition of eldest sibling, golden boy with a lot of achievements, always follows their parents, prim and proper, and always initiates things to go into motion.
But, he is not a mediator. He is not someone who can get everyone in line to listen. Yes, he has leader qualities, but not all of them. He is missing the ability to empathizing and include others. I actually wish we saw some flashback interactions with him and Ben, or Luther talking about Ben because I wanna see how their relationship would’ve been.
The same goes with Five. He is leader material as well (given he’s 58 years old tbh), but he has a hard time with his emotions and empathizing with the others as well.
So all in all, who else has the power to empathize with the others? Who else has that? Allison and Ben.
Allison is someone who I think is very good with people even without her rumour power (as we can see with season two). She and Ben seem to have had a very good relationship too judging from her scene in s1 ep2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think she and Ben were the mediators within the family. They are the ones who is most often on the neutral side of things, thinking about everything and everyone, the pros and cons, everyone’s feelings, and how they can make a solution that will make less sacrifices.
I think out of everyone, both Allison and Ben are the ones who take care of their sibling in a more emotional way. They allow themselves to show weakness or strength in a sense that, they let their guard down and allow themselves to just care. They also protect their siblings, but with Ben I think it’s deeper.
In regards to Ben protecting and even sacrificing himself on a deeper level than Allison, I will refer to this post that talked about their numbers. Some were saying that they were numbered backwards, from weakest to strongest, yet at the same time, it was also based on their usefulness for Reginald.
If we go with the usefulness and how well Reginald can manipulate them, then it is also very plausible. Luther is our golden boy who wants to please their father, Diego although denies it still tries hard to be a superhero that their father told them to be, Allison is also very much afraid of their father. Although she loves him even when he was abusive, she still followed him. Klaus being four is because of his fear, he’s very lenient and will somewhat do what their father wants. He wasn’t like Vanya who could blow up the place where he was being kept, so in a way he was easier to manipulate. Five obviously had a mind of his own as well.
So why, pray tell, is Ben number six? How was he immune to being manipulated and used whenever by Reginald?
My answer, Klaus and Vanya.
I think he saw how unfairly they were treated, saw how vulnerable his siblings are, and that was what made him rebel against Reginald. Klaus and Vanya are close to him, they are the siblings he is closest to, so having to see them go through all of those hardships, those trauma, and be so unloved by their father because they could not control their powers or have “no” powers in Vanya’s case.
I think in his own way, Ben stood up for his siblings that’s why his rank/number was demoted to six. He was punished to have a lower number.
I think the reason that the Umbrella siblings were so protective of each other was because Ben rebelled in a way that he saw injustice within their father and did something about it, even if it caused him a way to gain his father’s favor and love.
Now, after that explanation with how Ben became Ben with the Umbrella, let’s go to Number One in Sparrow. I will be calling him One now.
One did not have Klaus and Vanya growing up. I cannot assume yet what their upbringing was like, but with how I just described Ben’s relationships with the others, I think the Sparrows are more cut-throat and independent from one another.
One has become the “eldest” and supreme sibling here. He is the most useful and easily the most powerful as well. One did not die at a young age, so him being able to tap more into the secrets of his powers and being able to hone and improve it is deadly. The fact that Vanya is not here, we could also speculate that One is also the most powerful sibling here right now.
I would also like to reference my own post here on how powerful Ben could have been if he had not died. One has had years of training behind his back to polish his skills. The theory of One being a portal that could easily summon and manipulate monsters from another dimension is too good. He is the living embodiment of OP wherein he is calm, collected, and knows how to control himself and his emotions to not set an apocalypse in motion. That is, only if this theory even has a smidgen of a chance to become canon. Or has some aspects that can become canon.
But anyways, Ben with his stomach and Bentacles is OP enough already.
Going back to One, the idea of his siblings here being more independent and cut throat is a big possibility. I’m not saying that they don’t have a bond or that the Sparrow siblings hate each other. All I’m saying is that they might not have been as affectionate and emotionally open as the Umbrella siblings.
I mean like heck, even Diego, who is our most macho character has a soft side, especially for Ben.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look how soft they both look here, how Diego hugs Ben and just the all around atmosphere of it. You can feel from this scene alone how important Ben is to Diego.
I don’t think the Sparrow siblings have this kind of connection, hence why One was able to become One. Yes, they probably work better as a unit/team and yes, they will probably be better at using their powers and combining it with their other siblings, they’ve been together for 30 years and did not separate like the Umbrella siblings... But the actual connection of being soft and loving one another? The urge to protect and be vulnerable? I don’t think they have that.
I think, the Sparrow Academy will have more emotions and frustrations bottled up inside of them, than the Umbrella Academy. They’re trained to be tougher. At least, that’s what I’m speculating for now. I could be wrong on this one.
My speculation will be that Sparrow kids will be more independent and have lesser feelings and emotions for the others. Unlike Umbrella who obviously care so much about each other.
All in all, I think Sparrow!Ben/One will be an asshole in season 3 lmao we’re probably going to hate him so much in the first few episodes until we see how fucked up Reginald has raised them.
I look forward seeing how everyone will react to One, I think in the end, he’ll become our Ben one way or another. The Umbrella sibling’s bond is too strong to be severed, even in alternate realities.
But also, it will be such a good bitter tragedy if One loves his Sparrow siblings more and they were raised better because fuckkkkk that would hurt so good lmao

Woo Do-Hwan: Interview with Hanryu Pia - May 2019
@staidwaters - Once again, thank you so much for patiently cleaning up and correcting my translation!! ;__; You’re like a superhero swooping down from on high to make my noob efforts look good!
@ibelongtomousse - Thank you for listening to me cry whenever I encounter another translator’s dilemma! It’s old news to you but it still feels new to me every time I run into the same problem!
Fans have been eagerly waiting for Woo Do-hwan to star in a full-scale romance, and now he’s taken the challenge with the drama “The Great Seducer”. He burst into the limelight from his role as a brave high school student in the drama “Save Me”, then transformed into a young man who strove to expose insurance swindlers in “Mad Dog”. In a complete change of image, he now enthusiastically takes on the fascinating role of a playboy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A transformation into a narcissistic playboy:
The romantic drama “The Great Seducer” portrayed a dangerous game of passion amongst youths living in high society.
This dramatic work remade the narrative motifs of the classic French novel “Dangerous Liaisons”, which has been adapted for live action and theatre countless times around the world.
WDH: When I read the script, I didn’t know that this was a drama based off of an existing work. I watched the film “Untold Scandal”, starring Bae Yong-joon, and I also saw the Korean-Chinese film collaboration “Dangerous Liaisons”, but I feel that my acting is never constrained by the original performances. “Save Me” was also a drama that was based on a webcomic, but in the beginning, I didn’t know that there was an original work in existence.
Woo Do-hwan portrayed the character of Kwon Shi-hyun, the son of the chairman of a financial conglomerate. He’s a true playboy who takes down women with a single look, boasting, “There isn’t a single woman who hates me”.
WDH: The title “The Great Seducer” grabbed me right away. It’s pretty overblown wording, but I’d never seen a title with that much self-confidence before! The role of Shi-hyun fits the title completely. I was fascinated by his abundant self-confidence, unreserved manner of speaking and overwhelmingly self-absorbed dialogue.
The dramas "Save Me" and "Mad Dog" showcased Woo Do-hwan's bromances with Taecyeon (2PM) and Yu Ji-tae. But in this work, while taking advantage of his cool and shadowy charm, he crossed into a new frontier, becoming an indiscriminate and experienced womanizer. Born in the upper class and raised without knowing love, Shi-hyun starts a game of passion to woo and dump the honor student, Tae-hee (Red Velvet/Joy), only to genuinely fall for her without realizing it.
WDH: This is my first traditional romance. It was one of the genres that I’ve been wanting to challenge myself with, and no one has seen me in a romance like this work before, so I was really looking forward to it. I learned a lot through trial and error. Shi-hyun grows up due to the  pain he feels during a game of passion. I did a lot of research into expressions of love, and what the kind of men who would cruelly and casually play games with women’s hearts are like. What kind of voice should I speak with, what kind of eyes should I have in order to lead women astray? (laugh) Be that as it may, the character is described as a twenty-year-old, so I had to take that aspect into consideration too.
Over and over, the audience was charmed by Woo Do-Hwan’s sexy, mysterious gaze, deep voice, and sweet, direct lines. Nicknames such as “Killer Kwon” and “First Kiss Expert” have spawned from his role’s lethal charm. When we asked him about these reactions, he became embarrassed, exclaiming “Uwaa” and laughing.
WDH: I’m so thankful to be granted those kinds of nicknames. “First Kiss Expert” is really embarrassing though! I think that I only appear that way because of how skillfully Soo-young (Joy’s real name) performed with me, and how the director and everyone on staff did us the favor of filming us beautifully.
Tumblr media
A handsome high school student in a school uniform blazer:
Just like in “Save Me” where he played a high school student, this work also showcases a school uniform look. Woo Do-Hwan is very attractive in a rumpled blazer.
WDH: I want to wear school uniforms a lot while I still can (laugh). If there is a chance to do this type of drama again, I will always want to do it. Every time I wear a school uniform, I feel young and fresh. I remember the good old days. School uniforms are great.
During high school, Shi-hyun formed a terrible trio of troublemakers with his diva-like best friends, Se-joo (Kim Min-jae) and Soo-ji (Moon Ga-young). He did well in acting out the sentiment of a precocious high school student.
WDH: The three people in the drama are depicted as being wise-guys. They feel that they are the only ones in this world, so they pull a lot of pranks. I think that I lived a very ordinary life during my time in high school. I loved soccer; and I went to cram school after school. I was definitely a very average Korean high school student.
It seems at his present age of twenty-four, Woo Do-Hwan’s personality is very different from Shi-hyun’s.
WDH: I feel that I still have an overly cautious side. It’s not that I don’t want to think about things, but I should be more carefree. I often feel that there are many instances where I overthink and I cannot take action.  I’m one of those people who always worries whether I’ll regret it whenever I start something new.
Shi-hyun carries out multiple seduction strategies in order to capture Tae-hee’s heart; however, Woo Do-Hwan especially likes the scene where he visits a nursing home.
WDH: I think that was a very fun scene. Shi-hyun met Tae-hee and accompanied her to the nursing home, but once there, he ended up doing things like cleaning the floor. Meeting all the grandmothers, and the other unexpected happenings that broke out were all very interesting.
From a dangerous love entrapment game to true love:
Shi-hyun falls into the love trap that he set up, and in the end, awakens to true love. Do you think it is possible for a love that started from a game to become the real thing?
WDH: I think it’s quite possible! That’s because we humans never know what will happen. I think that Shi-hyun is truly blessed to have Tae-hee as a friend. Here is a woman who is willing to accept and love an immature partner who tricked her and hurt her. I, Woo Do-Hwan, have never met anyone like that.
Well then, who is closer to your ideal type of woman: Tae-hee or Soo-ji?
WDH: In life it’s amazing to have a female friend like Soo-ji who you can talk to about anything, and to have a woman who is able to love like Tae-hee. The two have opposite personalities, so I think a girl who combined both their best points would be best. That’s incredibly greedy of me, but that would be ideal! (laugh)
Irreplaceable bonds formed in the time that these three actors from the same generation appeared together. It was Woo Do-hwan’s first experience co-starring with actors who were younger than himself.
WDH: Before filming started, I made time for the four of us to do things like eat meals and chat  outside of the script reading. That’s how it happened. It was a challenge for me to be the eldest. Up until now, I was in the position of relying on my sunbaes. With my co-stars, I felt like we were friends of the same age. Within the drama, we were classmates, so I would usually call them by their role’s name without using honorifics. Instead of them feeling like younger siblings who had to defer to me or who I had to look after, I think it’s more accurate to say we became good friends.
Woo Do-hwan constantly appears in popular films, and will co-star with Park Seo-joon in the upcoming movie “The Divine Fury”, which opens in theaters this summer.
WDH: The film is in the occult genre but has a lot of action too. Parts of it will be spine-tingling, but that doesn’t mean it’s a straight horror film. It depicts the conflict between good and evil. While building the character for my new role, it feels as if I am pulling free from the old role that I just finished filming. I don’t like not having anything to do, so I’m the type who will read the script and continue to prepare while resting for a while, until it’s time to start filming the next work.
Tumblr media
(And finally, a sad photo of the poster because my scanner is tiny, ^^;;)

Waiting for the day he gets to be on the magazine cover <3 :3

Spinner headcanons
Tumblr media
((There's a lot of text, but I hope you guys enjoy, also this list contains the OCS that are Spinner's family members))
I stumbled across head canon list that mentioned him being half Hispanic, and i 100% agree
Total himbo
Bilingual boiiiii!! (Well he knows english, but not fluently, but he knows the basics ) at home his family used a mix of Japanese and Spanish while talking
(it's a wholesome jumble of language)
HE!! HAS!!!TWO!! MOMS!!! (Lesbiems babyyyy)
His mama (Spin calls her ama) met his mom when she came to Japan to study abroad
Spinner is the youngest of seven (two older brothers and four older sisters)
(Let's be real, he totally has youngest sibling vibes)
Canonically spinner is the least lizard like in his family so,,,,,,
Lowkey jealous of his siblings because they looked cooler in his eys (most have tails, longer claws, sharper teeth, etc)
As a kid, Spinner idolized his siblings. But he was closest the eldest of the family, his brother, let's call him Romero
Despite Shuichi's rough voice, he actually sings really nice!
Knows how to play guitar (his brother taught him, it was one of the many things they bonded over)
I have always imagined Spinner being born with depression, but the bullying just made it so much worse.
SAD HEAD CANON ALERT (tw: mentions of self harm and bullying)
The Iguchi family is no stranger to slurs, beatings, and vandalism based on how they look. They had come up with systems to protect themselves (travel in groups of no less than three, be home at a certain time, do NOT start fights or taunt people, etc) and it worked, for a while.
The bullying wasn't as bad in his younger school yeats becauze be always could rely on at least of of his siblings to protect him. But as he go older and his siblings aged out of school system, it escalated.
Petty insults were changed into full on slurs, trips and shoves in the hallways became full on circle beatings, walks home from school became races to safety.
Teachers never did anything because deep down they agreed with what everyone else thought.
During this, his family was going through a tough spot financially, mentally, and emotionally.
And because he didn't want to stress his family out, Spinner never told anyone about how bad the bullying had gotten, or how his was doing emotionally and mentally.
However the bullying lead to Shuichi often cutting class, and eventually dropping out of school at the start of his third year
This caused a lot more stress fpr everyone and often was the source of a lot of fights between him and his family
Over time, Spinner grew numb to everything, good and bad. To combat the numbness, Spinner took to self harm.
It lasted for about three years (started at 13, ended at 16)
Life at and away from home was getting too much for Spinner to handle, so he left.
At age 17, Spinner ran away.
He worked odd jobs and kept a pretty low profile for three years.
Then he saw HIM. Hero Killer Stain. He had found his new calling, something worth living for.
A couple months into his "vigilante" career, he met Grian and was soon added to the vanguard action squad, which was soon upgraded to the league of villian.
END OF THE SAD
Was probably in some for of gymnastic program in his younger years (I'm saying this because the thought of Spinner being able to do the splits has been in my mind for a while)
Because of his quirk he does experience shedding, but it only happens once a month
Much like Tsuyu Asui, the cold is to make Spinner's movements slower, and if cold enough, his body will slowly start shutting down (owo angst material)
He can also lick his eyes, but because his body naturaly keeps his eyes moist he doesn't need to. It's just a cool party trick really
He!!!!makes!!!gecko!!!noises!!!!!! Squeaks, barks, cheeps! You name it, he does it
Often makes them when really happy, startled, real angry, and sometimes when sleeping
He has a passion for parkour! (his quirk makes it fairly easy to do) Especially when it comes to jumping from rooftop to rooftop (listen, I know it's not ,entioned in any of the source material but just let me have this)
You can BET that Shu has an early morning exercise routine (how else is he gonna keep up that form)
Speaking of form, he's THICC. His arms are thicc, his thighs are s t r o n k, and let's not forget that fine booty
I don't care what the others say!! HE CAN COOK!! (Not anything too complicated, but he can get by)
Dabi likes to give him nicknames (like spin cycle or figit spinner)
He's gay. Or at least bi (come on we've all seen the way he is around Shigaraki you know he's not straight)
Him and Shig bond over videos games and like to see who can speed run Dark Souls the fastest (the current winner is Spinner but only by 20 minutes)
He is a fan of anything car related. Has probably watched all the fast and furious movies at least twice
Likes collecting knives
Him and Toga will kill for dark chocolate
Compulsively polishes his swords when stressed
Sees Magne as an older sister or aunt
He may not know how to drive well, but he is pretty knowledgeable about fixing vehicles
All in all, Spinner is very underrated and I would die for him
I might write more about the Spinner and his siblings they're ocs but let me thrive blease (maybe make art???) But for now, I'll leave you with this list.
EDIT: The second part to this list is here

Hello there.
My name is Lenzie, and well, uh...
I actually don't know how to phrase this, but, as I'm pretty stumped about my three Twisted Wonderland OC's I'd like people to send in questions about them!
I'll accept any and all questions about them, so long as they aren't incredibly inappropriate.
There most basic information, and pretty much all I've come up for them, are listed under their picrews.
And they're all Chibi's because the Chibi picrew had the best selection in my opinion.
Now, without a further ado, here they are!
First up is the Yuuki Cousins! Who, rather regrettably, have been redesigned slightly in that they aren't related, but they still grew up together!
Tumblr media
Alongside his lovely co-kidnappee, he's only about sixteen once he ends up in Twisted Wonderland.
This fine gentleman is Yuuki Yuuya, better known as 'Yuu' by his friends, with the added appeal of no one being quite sure if Yuuki or Yuuya is his first name, it's generally assumed Yuuya is, and due to Subaru's last name, people generally reference his last name as Yuuki.
He passes off his everyday fashion as his Dorm Uniform, and Crowley... Can't really contest it, as Ramshackle technically now counts as a dorm...
He's a bit like an over excited puppy, always rushing headfirst into danger and asking questions later, and, is, technically speaking, the real 'MC' of my story, as he is put in Ramshackle with Grim.
Tumblr media
He's also a Disney Nerd, and is both completely flabbergasted at his new surroundings and absolutely thrilled.
He also might have a thing about Thorne. Subaru's convinced it's a general 'Cute Bunny' thing, it's not. He's lying. Everything he claims about the situation is a lie.
It's like Agatha and Ortho, the former claims that the latter isn't special to them, and then the latter does the 'smile' thing, and suddenly the former is throwing candy at their creator passive aggressively.
...okay, so maybe it's not like Agatha and Ortho, (and it's definitely not Idia and Agatha because that's a very specific dynamic based on shared pessimism, misanthropy, and what Agatha equates to shared trauma), but nonetheless.
Calls Malleus 'Stranger Danger'.
He also bought a baby sling for Grimm, said Demon-Like-Cat is unamused.
And the other Yuuki attending NRC.
Yuuki Subaru!
Again, like her 'cousin', (it was an easy lie, and at the very least, it guarantees that no one will be loosing their heads over her and Yuu being alone in the same room), she's only about sixteen when they end up in Twisted Wonderland.
She's also incredibly pissed about it.
Subaru, unlike her best friend, is sorted into Pomefiore!
Back home, she was a somewhat small-time up and coming idol... Who was perpetually broke.
She's sorted into Pomefiore on the grounds of her core values... And amusement.
Beyond that, she's a very hard worker and values blunt honesty above all else.
Because she's literally a minute away from decking everyone in the face, and isn't really into keeping up the 'Persona' she had back home unless she's on stage, mostly because there's no point, she's tired, and honestly just wants everyone to shut-up so she can pass out.
She gets along with Leona simply because she feels kinship with the fact that he wants to sleep through most of the day.
Comes up with increasingly weird nicknames for Malleus every time they meet, (first time is Tsunotaro, as is canon, second time is Green-Eye's, third time she's under the genuine impression that his fondness for Thorne means they're related-or dating and calls him Not-Blondie for some reason), infuriates Sebek, amused Lilia, and Thorne is just really... Confused? She wants to say confused.

This is Rista Caspian!
He's the fifth born Prince of the Coral Sea, (and unfortunately NOT the bain of Rielle's school experience at RSA much to his eternal lamentation, fortunately Claire's doing just fine on her own), and a third year at NRC.
He has an adventurous streak a mile wide, and thinks himself something of a troublemaker, even if that's not exactly the truth.
As he's fifth in line for the throne, he doesn't have as many responsibilities as his older brother and and sisters, which freed him to attend NRC on land.
It also resulted in a somewhat... Less than stellar habit of not owning up to his mistakes and a lack of responsibility.
(Also, the entire reason he wasn't picked as Dorm Head? Spite. Pure unfiltered spite. Crowley made one vaguely insulting comment about Queen Minerva and it was war. Tradition be damned.)
His eldest sister, Thea, is the Crown Princess.
In order his siblings are...
Thea, Alan, Renna, Ven, himself, Claire, and Rielle.
Twisted from Ariel's elder sister Arista.

I have a vague idea about his Unique Magic being called 'Siren's Song'.
By the time of Chapter Three, he and Thorne have a weird friendship built on an incident involving them raiding the school kitchen.
And finally, the Disamonia first year, Thorne Brodeur!
The daughter of a very well off family from Pyroxene, and completely human... Er, maybe.
She's a very skittish and quiet young woman who ended up face planting against the Mirror when Subaru and Yuu rushed into the ritual chamber.
Thorne was good friends with Neige LeBlanche as a small child, but eventually, (purposely), fell out of touch with him once his career took off as her father started to push for a much... Different relationship afterwards, she straight up disappears during Chapter Five because of this, and no one can find her. NO ONE.
No one's quite sure what that says about her usual efforts to disappear.
She really doesn't know why she ended up in Disamonia, but Lilia seems endlessly amused by it, and everyone else is vaguely confused.
She's twisted from the Spindle that pricked Aurora's finger.
Her Unique Magic, as it is currently, so far has the working title of 'Wicked Lullaby'.
A good chunk of her hair gets lopped off during Leona's Overblot, and Lilia ends up in evening it out, and to Sebek's eternal frustration, she starts taking after Floyd on how to wear her uniform more casually...

The Eyes of the Wily
Emer is my favorite character in the Ulster Cycle, and I had a very wacky joke theory about Tochmarc Emire, which you can read here. A lot of the other details here that aren't based from Torchmarc Emire are headcanons regarding Emer's family. Obviously, this will not be 100% accurate to the story its mostly based on, but I did try and remain mostly faithful, outside of the things altered to fit the overall nature of this story. That being said, I hope you enjoy.
Also gonna put this under a read more because it turned out to be pretty long.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Scibar was the oldest of his siblings, by a rather significant margin. He had his father’s dark hair and his mother’s blue eyes. When Scibar was only a lad, his father first told him, “He does not have the eyes of a tricky man. Those are the eyes of a man too hard and too soft at the same time. He shall be raised as a warrior. He may not be a great one, but he shall be one.” Scibar, whether consciously or not, started studying his father’s eyes after that. What did his father have that Scibar did not?
When Fiall was born, Forgall ignored his first daughter. “We’ll marry her off at the first opportunity. With Scibar to inherit the Dun, we need not worry about an unworthy heir inheriting this house.” Scibar’s mother did not respond. Scibar was used to this look from his mother, this look of passivity. As if she was dead to the world around her. Her eyes were not the eyes of his father, or the eyes Scibar saw staring back at him when he gazed into the clear water of a calm river.
Ibor was the next born, and Scibar could swear it was the happiest he’d ever seen his father. “The eyes of a wise man!” Forgall had cheered, “We may have a worthy inheritor to this house yet!” It was not until years later that Scibar realized how casually his father had toyed with the idea of disinheriting him. But, as with all of Forgall’s other children, Ibor ended up disappointing him. Ibor didn’t take to his father’s talk of tricks and plans, cunning and schemes. Ibor preferred to spend his time learning the blade with Scibar, or using his gift with words to sing songs and tales.
Cat was born next and with him came a surprise. Cat was the first child Scibar’s mother was allowed to name. Forgall saw Cat and instantly turned from him in disgust, brazenly telling his mother to name him. Cat’s eyes were the same color as Scibar and their mother’s; blue. The blue of Cat’s eyes shone like a blaze light, completely unlike the colors of the sky Scibar’s eyes invoked. It was to the surprise of no one that Cat took the blade like his eldest brother, showing the most talent and passion for it.
But then, Forgall’s last child was born, another daughter. However, with the birth of this one, tragedy came into the house of Forgall the Wily. Scibar’s mother passed away giving birth to this final child. Forgall, as Scibar expected of him by now, remained distant even here, simply handing this final child off to Scibar to hold before carrying his wife’s body off to prepare for burial. Forgall later named his final daughter Emer. Emer hair was unlike her father or her mother’s; the golden locks of her mother appearing dirty with strands of interwoven browns.
Emer was talented, talented behind even her father’s wildest expectations. In all seven gifts of womanhood, she surpassed Fiall, surpassed even her late mother. Young as she was, her voice was like the gods, and she carried wisdom beyond her years. By her seventh year, she was even teaching the girls surrounding Forgall’s dun.
Scibar didn’t actually remember the day the love of his youngest sister’s life appeared very well. He remembered the basics, sure. The blazing young warrior, with his tri-colored hair and seven pupils, appeared in his chariot. Scibar distinctly remembered laughing trying to watch this small, young boy leap out of the chariot. Despite his intimidating chariot and the talons upon his fingers and toes, he was merely a whelp. He could have only been Emer’s age, and he was certainly small for his age.
Scibar didn’t bother to watch the young love blossom. Ibor did, and Scibar didn’t make much not. Ibor was a poetic soul, the blossoming of love was right up the ally of something he’d want to watch.
Emer skipped into the dun later that day, a silly smile plastered on her face, singing a little song about how she was going to marry Cú Chulainn, how he would fulfill her marriage conditions and she would go to join him in Ulster. Forgall shot up from where he was sitting, saying, “Fiall has not been married yet, you cannot be married. Besides, that boy is too wild, he shall bring about our ruin.”
Scibar had known his father long enough to know that “our ruin” meant “my ruin.” The silly smile fell from Emer’s face and the light retreated from her gray eyes, replaced by a more passive look. No, that wasn’t quite right, Scibar decided. There was...something underneath that passive glare.
That night, Forgall donned the disguise of a gaulish king, telling his children he would deceive Cú Chulainn into a fool’s errand, to keep him from marrying his daughter. Emer was present in the back of the room, and Scibar noticed it once more. That passive glare with something beneath it.
Cú Chulainn arrived the next morning to say his goodbyes with Emer, and she warned Cú Chulainn of her father’s attempts to destroy him. The young hero acknowledged her words, and he set off for Alba.
One week later, Emer innocently asked her father if she could move her room into the dun’s treasury. “You call me your greatest treasure father, may I not sleep surrounded by the others?” The request seemed innocent enough, and Forgall dismissed it as a woman’s vanity. Ibor raised an eyebrow but ignored it otherwise.
A month later, Emer met with her brother’s and convinced them that they should start guarding their parts of Forgall’s three walls separately.
“You are father’s most trusted. It is best not to put all your eggs in one basket, your prowess should not be focused on one wall.”
The logic checked out for the three brothers, although Ibor once again seemed to know something. Scibar didn’t think it was important, so he didn’t bother asking.
Midway through the year, Forgall tried to marry Emer off to a man named Lugaid. Emer rejected the man, speaking of her love for Cú Chulainn. Lugaid backed off, not wanting to experience the wrath of Cú Chulainn.
Cú Chulainn returned from his training, and Forgall sent a guard to keep him from marrying Emer. They kept the Hound at bay for a season, until Cú Chulainn’s anger finally boiled over, and he stormed the dun with his full strength.
Scibar was standing at his post in the walls, within the group of nine men, standing at its center. The young Hound of Ulster descended upon them, and Scibar braced himself for conflict. Scibar almost felt bad, that he’d have to kill the lad who made his sister so happy.
Of course, in the time it took Scibar to think that, the men standing next to Scibar had been felled in one blow. Cú Chulainn leapt away, to the next wall, and then the next. Soon Ibor stumbled towards his brother, unharmed, but deeply, deeply rattled. Scibar walked over to his brother, but Ibor smacked his hand away.
“I’m leaving, brother. I’m going to become a bard. The path of the warrior is not for me.” Ibor slurred out quickly, mind clearly abuzz with thoughts. Cat came next, clutching a shattered spear in his hands, a quiet grin upon his face.
“I blocked a hit.” Was his youngest brother’s only words. Scibar only nodded, looking at the path of warriors who had fallen. Anyone who hadn’t directly engaged Cú Chulainn had lived, but the three brothers had engaged the Hound, so why did they still breathe?
Scibar was knocked out of his thoughts by a shout, and the brother’s turned to see their father’s body crash into the ground, his old bones shattering with the impact. The three pairs of eyes that Forgall had rejected when he first saw them, could now bring themselves to feel nothing at his fate.
Scibar looked up and watched as the Hound of Ulster soared above them, performing a great feat of leaping, Emer in his arms and Fiall clutching to his tiny form. The treasures of Forgall’s dun also were held. Emer was laughing as she soared through the sky in his arms.
Cú Chulainn and Emer were married later that day, after Forgall’s allies had ambushed the couple at the fords between Scenmenn and Banchuing, the young Hound fought off all of them, killing many. Cat would later follow his sister and new brother-in-law to Ulster, with hopes of one day joining the Men of the Red Branch. For now, he settled for joining the boy troop. Ibor followed through on his promise to become a travelling bard, visiting his brother’s and sister every now and then to share his stories. Scibar, however, stayed at the dun of his father, inheriting it.
The dun’s new owner would be lying if he said he didn’t smile when he replaced the bed his father had rejected his children upon with his own.
It was a family reunion, a banquet and a feast. Scibar’s family, his sisters and his brothers, surrounded him at the table, drinking and eating merrily. Emer had brought her husband, of course, and she looked so happy laughing next to him as the duo partook in the feastivities. It had been so many years since Scibar had become the owner of this dun…
Ibor leapt onto the table, and decided to sing the tale of how Cú Chulainn had joined their family. Scibar largely toned out of the beginning of the story, he was there for most of it, after all. Until something Ibor said got his attention.
“And our beloved sister told the hero, “No man may travel these plains unless he has gone from Samhain til Imbolc without rest, killed 100 men at each ford between Scenmenn and Banchuing, performed the feat of the Salmon’s Leap while carrying twice his weight and gold, and struck down 3 groups of 9 men with one strike each, leaving the middle man of each group alive.”
Ibor smiled his smile, the smile of a bard, “Isn’t that right, sister?”
“Yes, it is!” Emer laughed, confirming Ibor’s account, “Those were the conditions I layed for Cú Chulainn in order to become my husband!”
“And I succeeded!” Cú Chulainn laughed, throwing an arm around Emer’s shoulder, joining in with her laughter. Cat followed soon enough, almost as if he didn’t remember, or didn’t care, that he had been so close to not being the man in the middle.
But that was not what Scibar focused on. For what felt like the thousandth time in his life, Scibar took a hard look at his sister’s eyes. The passive light was gone...no, no, it was never there, was it? Only a fake light, a facsimile of passivity that had fooled Scibar all these years; a facsimile that fooled their father his whole life.
Scibar finally burst out laughing with the rest of his family, but not because of the song being sung or the drink running thick or the memories everyone was spending the night recalling. Scibar laughed at the irony that the one pair of eyes his father may have accepted were the eyes of the one who was the first to reject that man.
