I think the invention of the term "traumadump" has done discussion of mental health a lot of harm. I keep seeing discourse vs whether or not it's okay to talk about heavy topics with your friends, and like... I feel like there is a very big and important difference between my definition of traumadumping (ie. Frequently and habitually diverting your conversations with others towards your own misery, often with the goal of focusing attention and sympathy towards yourself at the expense of those around you, and without recognizable effort to reciprocate your empathy towards those you are speaking to or to ensure their comfort) VS the mere act of having heavier conversations with those around you. I've seen a lot of backlash to the idea of traumadumping as a concept lately (they paywalled human connection etc etc) but I think it's worth recognizing there is absolutely a kind of behavior that can create a negative feedback loop with this stuff. Especially if you navigate a lot of spaces in social media, it's not uncommon to find people dropping really heavy stuff on complete strangers unprompted. Idk, I think there's a degree of nuance to be had that's maybe getting a bit lost due to everyone having different definitions of what it means to "trauma dump."

These were my first ever HJP DLM fanart posts 🥹 about how Harry's magic is lightning and Draco's is starlight.

It's also about how Harry starts to lose himself to being an Auror, scattering sparks of himself for the greater good but he has nothing in his life that refuels his light so his world just keeps getting darker. Meanwhile Draco is out in the world rebuilding himself, achieving things he never dreamed he would and coming into his own greatness.

I have this really self indulgent HC that after the war trials Harry tries to return Draco's wand to him. Draco thanks Harry sincerely, for everything, and then leaves Harry and his wand behind.

Harry goes to Narcissa for help tracking him down; she won't tell Harry where Draco is but she's willing to pass on his letters and so every week Harry sends passive aggressive or sarcastic letters about how he needs Draco to take his wand back because as if Draco Malfoy is out in the world subjecting his bespoke trousers to the elements without an impervious.

He never gets a reply but he keeps sending them and eventually the subject changes from Draco's wand and his pants to how Harry's life is going. Or about his troubles, or worries. Things he can't bring himself to confide in anyone face to face. He wonders where Draco is and hopes that he's found whatever it was that was so important. He think Draco deserves it, truly.

It's about five years later when Draco realizes two things; one is that reading the letters doesn't hurt anymore. He doesn't feel that pang of jealousy reading about how the world depends on Harry. He's proud of the life he's been living and the things that he's achieved, and so he actually starts to enjoy getting to know about Harry this way. Until his second realization; Harry Potter is not well. So he grabs his shiny cloak, and his five years worth of letters and walks out the door.

I think buddie is definitely going canon. I don't think what Oliver said about the finale should be assumed to be about buddie. I don't think Buck or Eddie's new love interests will be at all serious or endgame in any way. I have no idea if they will break up before the season ends or sometime in season 7. I think the couch is definitely about the Buckley-Diaz family. I'm not setting my heart on any single scene in the finale and I'm keeping an open mind that any scenarios I come up with are equally likely to not be the direction the writers decide to go in. I think the finale will probably have a big buddie moment if nothing else to round up their arc from 6b. I'm content and excited to see the finale however much focus they put on buddie because from everything we've seen it looks to be an incredible episode for all the characters regardless.
