Oh, and there comes the pain we all knew was coming after the softness. There was so much love but also so much fear and so much agony and WonYoung fell in love accidentally and he wanted to tell the truth but he never did and now TaeJoon is finding out the truth in the worst way and now there's nothing left because a trust was broken and the truth and the lies are coming out and the way WonYoung doesn't even understand what he did yet until TaeJoon says the company name and then... he's trying not to admit he knows that he knows and then... he knows. He knows but he tries to deny it because this love is what saved him from so much, gave him purpose and now it's all falling apart and there's nothing left but pain and betrayal. WonYoung quit, paid back the money, tried to start something new but he was too late and the love didn't matter when TaeJoon couldn't trust it... or him.

(The hardest part is that WonYoung knows how long ago his plan went out the window but TaeJoon can't know and he can't trust and it doesn't matter how much WonYoung is hurt or the truth he's telling because the lie, the betrayal, overwhelms it all.)

And then the memories of their happiness and what they had that he can't trust and what WonYoung knows he's lost...

The agony of broken hearts and the way they're both so hurt and so desperate and so full of despair and just... oh, my entire heart for both of them but mostly for TaeJoon who trusted someone entirely who was so scared of the truth that he had to find out in the worst way but also for WonYoung who was so scared of love not being enough that he proved it wasn't because love without the truth is love without trust and they both are just so hurt.

Peryite is such an underrated daedric prince to me, conceptually. His sphere of influence has so much potential to explore. Like, disease and the natural order together? The way his followers see disease as a blessing? I love the implications there alone. He's the weakest prince, but his sphere has the potential to be so subtly destructive. One of his symbols, skeevers, represents that so well. The series has been kinda meh at exploring the princes philosophically but I feel like they are right on the cusp of something interesting with him, but since he isn't as flashy or obviously "bad" (or sexy) as the other ones he keeps getting put on the backburner. Gimme an interesting Peryite storyline pretty please. Explore things a little
