Summary: When the doctor asks for your help you gladly go to the Sanctum. The only problem is that he has other things in mind.

You'd been avoiding Stephen at all costs for the past week. You decided to put some distance between the two of you after having some dreams with him. Mostly because the incident with Wanda implied that you were sleeping with him somewhere in the Multiverse.

It didn't help you at all, especially since you'd been having feelings for him for a while. You had no idea when they changed; you just woke up one day and your heart decided you were in love with him.

You could almost swear he was aware of what was going on in your mind. You just hoped he didn't because you'd die of embarrassment.

You smiled as soon as America walked into the bibliotheca, but when you saw who was behind her, you felt your heart drop.

“Hi Y/N!” She shone like a ray of sunshine. "We came to return these books."

"Already? Didn't you start the Key of Solomon last week?" you asked softly

"Yea, well. You know my teacher quite well." she added as she rolled her eyes

"The grimoire with the raising of spirits is one of the most important books for the novice, America." Stephen immediately added

"I know, I know. I believe you've mentioned it at least 50 times" she laughs

"It's for your own good," he said softly, ruffling her hair.

"All I know is that I'm done with reading until next month." she smiled fondly at him "You will keep your promise, right?"

"Of course, kiddo." Then Stephen lifted his arms and quickly created a portal. "I just need to talk to Y/N about something. Choose a film to watch; it won't take long."

"Just so you know, the popcorn is all mine." America said as she walked through it.

"All right," he chuckled slightly before closing the portal.

Being alone with him made you feel like you were going to explode. Your mind was racing from one idea to another, and you weren't really paying attention to what he was saying. Nobody could blame you. That baritone voice was a distraction and it was really difficult for you to concentrate.

"Earth to Y/N?" He waved his hand in your direction.

"Sorry, what were you saying?" Your voice had a slight tremor.

"Could you please assist me with Maxim's Primer? I really need a second opinion because I'm having trouble with it."

"It was never your strong suit, was it?" you laugh

"As if plants were that significant." His lips curved into a small smile.

"Magical plants, Stephen," you said emphasizing the word "magical."

"They remain plants. So, can you help me or not?" He drew closer to you.

"Sure," you began to feel as if you couldn't breathe anymore, but thankfully he took a step back.

"Thanks." The sorcerer then constructed a portal. "See you at the Sanctum tomorrow." He winked as he left the library.

You were dumbfounded by what had just occurred. What exactly does he mean at the Sanctum Sanctorum?

You made a portal to the Sanctum and took a deep breath before entering it. Come on, you've got this; all he needs is a second opinion.

Your heart begins to race, just at the thought of Stephen. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all.

Looking nervously at the back of the door, you want nothing more than to return to the safety of your room from Kamar-Taj. It was too much to face him alone after those dreams. Quickly turning on your heels, you turn to leave.

“Y/N?” You come to a complete halt. As you slowly turn towards the door, you notice Stephen, looking as pristine as ever.

"Doc," you murmur, your eyes meeting his, noticing a subtle glint behind them.

"Where are you going?" he asks confused

“Sorry” you say softly, trying to conceal the nervousness in your chest “I’m not feeling very well, so I thought it would be better if I..”

“Didn’t your mother teach you not to lie?” He smirked as your heart skipped a beat

“Doc,I—“

“You ought to know better than to lie to me” he says smoothly, making you tense.

You observe him as he circles the desk between the two of you. His hands were folded behind his back, and his face was expressionless.

Oh my goodness, he knew.

Even tough you were dying on the inside, you tried to keep a neutral expression on your face. Stephen then chuckles softly, making you jump slightly. Then he pulls you in closer, wrapping an arm around your waist and placing a finger under your chin to bring your gaze back to his.

“Why are you so tense, Y/N? You know I don’t bite” He inhaled deeply before looking you in the eyes.

“It’s nothing.”

“Are you certain it’s nothing?” you avert your gaze

“I just didn’get enough sleep. Some books from the library have gone missing and I need to take care of them.”

"Are you certain your current state of uneasiness isn't the result of some dreams you're having?" You found yourself pressed into the wall behind his desk, with him pressing into you, before you could even register what was happening.

Bro you're really gonna do this to me....okay, prepare for a long-ass response:

So my first ever OC was a vampire, because yes, I was that kid. Her full name is Evangeline Erin Corãn.

Her mother was a vampire, and her father was a human wizard. (I haven't quite figured out names for them, but oh well, we'll get there eventually) Her brother, Albus ended up taking after his father; soon becoming a world renowned sorcerer (and recognized military expert once he joined in the Hybrid war)

A little backstory on each of the parents:

Mother belonged to a family of 12. There was a mother, father, 8 sisters, and 2 brothers. In this vampire community, males were used as breeders; once they sired a litter of children, they were used as hunting practice for the little ones, and eventually killed off. If any boys were born, they would be kept around until they were mature enough to reproduce. Another tradition within this community was the "Battle of thy Brethren" which stated that, only 1 daughter could remain per generation - only 1 girl could carry the family's mantle. So Evangeline's mother had to compete against the 8 other girls within her family in order to survive.

It kind of broke her, not having a father, her mother being a terrible person, and then having to murder her other sisters just so she could survive. After her win, she ran away, not wanting to accept what she had done. While on the run, she met Evangeline's father, who was an absolute romantic and eventually won over her heart. She got pregnant - thought it was only with Evangeline, went back to her mother in hopes that her mother would accept her husband and allow traditions to change, mother ignored her until she gave birth,

lookie there, it's a boy and a girl!

Her mother tried to take away Albus- she was furious, mother threatened to kill husband, so she killed mother.

Ending result?: Trauma

Now onto the Father!:

Dad lived pretty normal life. He was a doorstep baby and was raised by 2 witches. He learned very early on that family doesn't have to be by blood, it's about love and those who can look beyond what you appear to be, and make you feel safe.

He was a very curious child and took a large interest in what his mother's were. So they taught him all they knew and watched him as he grew from a little boy, learning little bits of magic, into a masterful wizard who would use his newfound gifts to help spread joy around the world.

(One of the things he would do while courting Evangeline's mom, was constantly summoning bouquets of flowers from thin air to give to her. Bro had rizz.)

He met Evangeline's mom on his way to another town. He was in the middle of his exploration arc.

(Bro just wanted to explore the world and bam, hit with the power of love.)

Fast forward to Evangeline and Albus as young adults:

Evangeline and her mother do not have a good relationship, mainly because her mother was constantly pushing her to be as strong as possible, fearing that the past would come back to haunt them. Evangeline was jealous of her brother, feeling like he had more freedom to do whatever he wanted, while she had to become what she referred to as a "backup bodyguard." Outside of that, it was a loving family unit. Her father continued to use his magic for funny little pranks that he would involve both Evangeline and Albus in, regardless of how old they got.

(Adorable little side note: The dad would refer to Evangeline as his "little angel" The dad definitely had everyone's hearts - including mine)

Unfortunately I'm a terrible person, so here comes the angst-

A military team in charge of monitoring supernatural entities decided that the vampire community Evangeline's mother had belonged to was too dangerous to be allowed to continue on and decided to hunt down and kill everyone associated with them.

Evangeline and her family are surrounded, they all ready themselves to fight-

(I always think of the dad as Wanda Maximoff in this moment lmao)

Fight breaks out, Evangeline gets into the thick of it, and in this moment thanks her mother for preparing her. Dad ends up getting captured, uses magic to catch himself on fire, severely damaging the 3 soldiers who had ahold of him. Another soldier shoots him in the head, killing him immediately. The mother goes berserk, wiping out more than half of the soldiers, before a barrage of bullets finally puts her down. Albus and Evangeline both finish up the rest of the soldiers and rush over to their mother who is struggling to breathe, but will still survive.

Unfortunately, a second squad shows up as backup. Evangeline and Albus are told to run. Mother gets finished off and Evangeline picks up her brother and takes off. They both go into hiding for a few years.

Albus finally decides to finish his studying and goes back to his father's mage college. He buries himself in the work, aiming to be the strongest he can.

Evangeline blamed herself for not being strong enough, for not being a good enough weapon to save her parents. So she pushed herself to be harder, better, faster, stronger. After she felt she was ready, she set off to take down every single soldier involved in her parents death.

And that's my baby. My very first!

Mind control for the kink meme ?

Yeah! Some things have changed since last time. Lots of them haven't.

1 - Xavier/Magneto (X-men). All the versions. The AUs where Xavier is darker than in canon and uses mind control on Magneto (this is Ultimate X-men), the versions where Magneto brainwashes Xavier for a change (this is X-2) the version where one of them is brainwashed by another source, accidental or not, and the other deals with it, the consensual mind control kink with Magneto having a kink on mutant powers (there is such good fic out there), and some things that can be more off-topic like them joining their powers to deprogram a Sentinel (this is Excalibur 3) I'm here for it anyway.

2 - John/Scorpius (Farscape). Because the canon arc where John was fighting the conditioning was so hot. I always want more of it.

3 - Jon/Martin (The Magnus Archives). This one is not canon, and I love them healthy and fluffy in canon, but damn, all the options in alternates universes! Jon using compulsion on Martin, accidentally or on purpose. Or the alternate universes where Martin ends up filled with spiders and controlling Jon. I've read dozens of fics like this, and I'll do it again.

4 - Wanda/Agatha (Wandavision). We have canon brainwashing, and after what happened in the last Dr Strange, I absolutely don't feel guilty to squeeze it for maximal wrongness.

5 - Wei Wuxian/Wen Ning (Mo dao zu shi). It's a ship I love in general and it's not centered on this but the idea that they're trying to be normal while the necromancer/fierce corpse total control option is still here, and can come back even accidentally... it's my jam.

6 - Horatio/Lin (Horatio Lyle series). I will read anything about them, but it sure is darkly romantic to get to love and trust a woman with the same mind control powers that the bad guys who are your first supernatural trauma.

7 - Illyana/Kitty (X-men). Like Xavier/Magneto, mostly in dark AUS (looking at you, X-men Forever) or accidentally, but damn, the dark side of Illyana's powers has so much possibilities. I'll read most things for them, though, even if I'm very picky for fluff.

8 - Eden/Mohinder (Heroes). They're so hot and it's angsty and she had mind control powers and we didn't see her enough and I will never stop loving the potential of this ship.

9 - The Gentleman with the Thistledown Hair/Stephen (Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell). I love subtle, or unsubtle, fairy mind manipulation too much for my on good.

10 - Anlise/Renge (Namesake). They were secondary characters and we haven't seen them for them, but OMG, it was the good kind of twisted to me.

Ha ha you have no idea how hard it was to choose only 10.

"We can't kill Scarlet Witch...Ms. Maxim-Wanda. We can't kill Wanda." Genome said apprehensively. Logan's temper had hit the ceiling. "Why the hell not?! You know what she did! This is no time to go soft!" Logan roared. "Well, for starters, we don't even know where she is. Second, even if we did, we can't just pull up on her with guns drawn. She just had a mental breakdown and twisted up reality by accident. Be honest, do YOU want to deal with that? Do YOU think you're capable of dealing with that?" Genome counters, almost shouting.

Tensions had been quite high since the "decimation" as they were calling it. People going unaccounted for, others dying due to their loss of mutation. Everyone was incredibly stressed. Logan was in an even worse mood than usual, especially considering his conflict with Scott. He wanted payback and was willing to do whatever for it. "And whaddya mean by go soft? Who's going soft?!" Genome returns. "You heard what Doctor Strange said! Her spell was quote-unquote woven into the fabric of reality. He said that even he couldn't undo it, and he's the Sorcerer Supreme or whatever" Genome said, mimicking the sorcerer's spell casting hand gestures. Genome could almost feel the rage radiating off of Logan. He could smell it too. His thoughts almost literally burning through his adamantium covered skull. Increasingly aware of this, Genome attempted to reason with Logan in hopes that he might calm down and think clearly for once in a while.

"Besides, killing Wanda might not even solve the problem! If her spell is ingrained so deep in in our current existence, then killing her might undo the spell and then undo all of reality with it". Logan looked to be pondering what he was hearing, but his fury was still in the air. "I don't know if you knew, but what she did didn't just affect our universe, it affected other universes and even other timelines! Do you want to be responsible for the destruction of time and space? Because if so, feel free to kill her. I'm sure it'll be SO worth it when everyone's dead".

I want to put even more thoughts down in writing about this movie but also I don't even want to relive it enough to do that.

Saddest thing for my nostalgic MCU heart to bear was the terrible treatment of Wanda. Like fine, tell me she didn't learn her lesson when her power got out of control and she tried to fix her past mistakes or achieve happiness recklessly. Tell me she didn't learn that lesson in WestView, and she's willing to kill to fill the grief-hole inside of her.

Tell me that. I might believe it. But you have to actually build up to it.

I have spent four movies and a beautiful television show watching this character develop as:

girl who's willing to let the ends justify the means until she learns that her own emotional baggage ("we wanted to change the world/" dealing with wanting revenge for her parents' deaths) comes at too high a price--AND THAT PRICE IS HURTING AND KILLING PEOPLE. She learns she is not okay with that, so she becomes

girl who tries to use her power to help, as an Avenger, but ultimately hurts people anyway...and learns that even with the potential danger of her power, she can't CONTROL their emotions about her and can only control her own actions and fears. But once that lesson is learned she becomes

girl who IS willing to sacrifice her own happiness for others (killing the love of her life) only to find that her ultimate sacrifice is meaningless, because she's still not in control. Which is hard, and for a normal person it might just have meant depression, but she happens to have unfathomable power, so she becomes

girl who loses control of her emotions and powers to fill her own grief-hole again, but on a larger scale (WestView) but then, once she realizes who she is and what she's done, that she's HURT PEOPLE AGAIN, she radically sacrifices her own emotional comfort and sacrifices the people she loves, again, turning back to an effort to control her newfound powers.

FROM THERE, we should have got a movie that wrapped that up. We should have seen Wanda moving on from her grief or getting to find happiness in new love or new healthy family. But we didnt get that. We got angry, so-done, unhinged Wanda who is basically corrupted by evil forces, (like she was in Age of Ultron) willing to do anything to get what she needs to feel better (like she began to be in WandaVision.)

So okay, if Sam Raimi wants me to believe that Wanda is willing to kill to get her kids back, I can believe it. Losing herself in grief and consequently losing control of her powers, even with the best of intentions, is kind of her whole thing. Revenge is even something she keeps coming back to, as a character. So if Sam Raimi wants me to believe that Wanda is a mass murderer on the level of a horror villain, all so she can have happiness, I COULD come around to believing him.

But you know what? You DON'T get me to believe that by writing Vision out. You DON'T get me to believe that by having Wanda, who was once a powerful girl with powers that were exploited by darker forces, be totally willing to cruelly suck the life out of a powerful girl with powers. You DON'T get me to believe that by having the same woman who, in every other film and show, falls apart when she realizes she's accidentally hurt people, ALSO spend a whole movie cutting superheroes in half, collapsing their skulls, snapping their necks, and callously walking over the bodies of crowds of people she's murdered. (And she even shows off her carelessness with quippy one-liners and snark while she's doing it.) You DON'T get me to believe that when, the last time I saw her, she was allowing her sons and husband to disappear out of existence for the sake of a small town's sanity. Not even to save their lives--just to give them a chance at happiness. Near-strangers. The last time I saw her, she was exchanging her sons, husband, and personal happiness so that near-strangers could have their normal lives back.

At the end of her character development before this movie, Wanda was a severely traumatized, grieving hero. but she was still a HERO. She was still actively trying to correct the ways she hurt others, and she was still sacrificing "being with my boys" to do that.

If you wanted me to forget that, Sam Raimi, and cheer while your annoying new starchild character beats up and ultimately leads to the arbitrary death of the character I've been following for 7+ years, then you should've done a better job.
