Second off, I have a request for TWDG

So, how would Marlon, Louis, Clem, Violet, and anyone else you want to add react to their future S/O who has a cat they really really love. Like, say if reader was with Clem whenever her and AJ got rescued. When reader wakes up, they immediately start looking for their cat and when whoever come to check on them, they bring out a knife they have in their shoe and start threading them until reader gets their cat back.

You don’t have to use that idea, just a little thing I thought of. Thank you for your time and thank you if you decide to write this! (Btw if you do you have a request that’ll be prioritized on my blog!)

When they heard the crash and found you guys, Marlon didn’t see your cat around

Much less even know there was a cat in the beginning 

So when he heard you had woken up, at first he was sorta relieved but apprehensive

Didn’t help when first thing you did when meeting was pull out a knife they missed in your boot and point it at his neck

You were demanding your cat

Marlon was so fucking confused

“What cat- there was no cat when we found you two and the boy.”

“...whAt-”

When he finally explained, he felt bad because you looked so sad

Your heart was so broken

Your cat was gone

You didn’t know if it ran away or had been eaten by walkers

And Marlon also felt bad because he knew what it was like being attached to an animal

Like he didn’t know what he would do if he lost Rosie

Clem also helped you trying to find it, Marlon tagged along also

And there was no luck until Marlon heard meowing by the gate

He jumped ngl

He then saw the cat

He felt so proud when he returned it to you

Felt like a damn hero with his hands on his hips

He loves the cat also!

He doesn’t like when the cat tries to play with his haier thinking it’s a fellow cat but-

Rosie surprisingly liked it too

Your cat liked him a bit too

Because we all know that if your pet doesn’t like them they gotta go

So yay! All good

LOUIS

Louis when he came to check on you was kinda excited new people were at the school

He and the others hadn’t seen anyone for a long time

But that excitement quickly turned into fear when he was thrown into the wall with a knife to his neck

Hands up and saying “Ay! I come in peace!”

Only thing he got from your yelling was that you had a cat, your cat was gone, and you wanted your cat

Problem was…Louis had found it and claimed it as his own-

Dw he was glad he had what you wanted

But he found the amazing creature who loved him and he loved it

Was so sad that he couldn’t keep it

He missed animals

Except Rosie, loves her to but he hadn’t seen a cat in a long time

Once you took the knife away from his neck he was like

“Okay, thank you for not murdering me- and yeah, I got a cat. What does your cat look like?” 

And once you told him he felt so sad he had to part ways with the amazing animal

But nonetheless he gave it back

Felt happy he reunited y’all

And also was so freaking happy because the cat followed him around

You didn’t wanna tear him away from the cat so you let them hang out

And Louis and the cat are best friends now

The cats always on his lap or sitting on his shoulder when eating dinner or playing a game

You had been with Clem and by extent AJ for a while

So she was pretty used to your cat

She loved it also

The cat was so cuddly

Also AJ loved it also, ever since he was a baby he always seemed fascinated by the little cat

So when you and Clem woke up and you started freaking out about your cat

She sorta panicked also and tried helping you find it

When y’all were introduced with everyone at the school your cat was still missing

Until you guys went hunting, Clem heard meowing and thought it was your cat

And she was right, she found the little feline in a tree as walkers were trying to get it

Once she killed the walkers the cat seemed so excited to see a familiar face and jumped down to her

She walked back with your cat in hand and was so relieved when your eyes sparkled seeing your animal

She missed the cat too tbh

AJ also was excited to see it again!

VI

Vi before it all absolutely loved cats

I believe she had one at some point

When the world went to shit she didn’t think about cats a lot

But when she did she never thought she would see one ever again

So when she went with Marlon and Louis when they heard the crash

She was shocked when she saw you, Clem and AJ all in the car surrounded by the dead

And even more shocked when she saw a cat there

The cat didn’t stick around though, hesitant but ran off when it saw the three teens

Vi was a bit sad but helped you guys out

When she heard you woke up and went to check on you she also got a knife to the throat and was threatened

When she heard you saying you wanted your cat it seemed like it clicked

She explained to you what happened to the cat and you seemed scared a bit

Like the cat could’ve been eaten or gotten hurt

So she helped you in finding the cat

In the hunting grounds, maybe in the school or she once snuck you guys out to the train station to go and find it

But no luck

Until one day she found out it had snuck through the gates and hid behind some of the bushes

She got it out with some food and it liked her a lot 

It rubbed it’s head against her hand when she picked it up and let me tell you she loved it so much

When she returned it to you she was happy at how happy you two seemed

But it didn’t end there

No ma’am 

The cat loves sticking around her

Y’know those movies where someone dramatically sits in a chair, turning it around with a cat in their lap and is like

“I’ve been expecting you…”

Oh god that's not an easy question to answer. Probably either Insistent or Under The Moonlight, but honestly all of my asoue fics are entrenched in tragedy (as is most of my writing). There's also The Final Thoughts of Charlotte Wells, but I don't count that as much because the ending is explicitly canon so it feels less angsty to me

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Uhhhhhh okay well I don't have a lot of happy endings—That's Just How the Story Goes would have been my go-to if I'd kept it as the oneshot I wrote it as, but I was convinced to continue and now we're midway through a very long plot so it hasn't actually ended anymore lmao. Maybe His Good Lady Wife?

I haven't published any smut but... yes. Thus far I'm too scared to let anyone read it though ahaha

Hmm... maybe the Villainous Violet AU? I've mentioned it several times on here, but I've barely written anything down and as much as I love it, I'm not very good at multichapters :(

Oh, or my WWDITS rewrite! I was really mad, but the show is sort of slowly driving me away so I'm not sure I'll write anything else for it (we'll see how mad I get when I finally have access to the new season lmao)

What are your writing strengths?

I've gotten a lot of compliments on writing in-character dialogue, and on my angst, so probably one of those? I am. Still not great at being nice to my own writing ahaha

What are your writing weaknesses?

Oh god okay well I am awful at making anything happy (I tried to write a fluff fic once and it. Did not go well), but also exposition is literally so hard??? Either I just do a massive clunky paragraph of description or I fully do NOT tell you anything about the environment I'm so sorry

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I don't think I'd ever do it because I cannot speak another language (and every attempt to learn thus far has failed spectacularly), and I like being able to have the proper implications and nuances when I write dialogue, which I obviously can't do if I don't know what they're saying. I think the only way I'd do it is if a character was temporarily speaking in another language for like, a specific purpose, which I don't think really counts

First fandom you wrote for?

Okay, the first fandom I published for on this account was WWDITS, but I've been writing fanfic (in my head at least) for as long as I can remember

Favorite fic you've ever written?

Oh god um... I personally really like Under the Moonlight, but I'm not sure I quite got across everything I wanted to in it. I also think A Prior Engagement and Correspondence With A Duchess are pretty good so maybe one of those? I don't know, reading back my fics always just makes me want to fix them 😭

Like what if when krux kidnapped Kai and nya’s parents They actually went to an orphanage and nya got adopted But Kai didn’t And the people got so sick of him they shipped him off to darklys So by the time Lloyd gets there kai is like all angsty and “bad”And he takes Lloyd under his wing And they are like bros But a few years later kai abandons ship and runs away from darklys And Lloyd is just like :( And when wu goes to look for Kai at his parents forge nya is just there visiting and is like I haven’t seen my bro in years And then she gets kidnapped and the pilots happen except Kai isn’t there And then Lloyd gets kicked out of darklys And try’s to be evil and releases the serpentine And the ninja do the ninja stuff but nya is a ninja w/them And they just keep running in to this guy in a cloak who keeps stoping them from capturing lloyd And also doing small crimes And when Lloyd gets kidnapped by the serpentine and Kai helps the ninja escape the slither pit like samurai x did in the original episode he manages to get away but nya stops him and he takes off his hood and is like hi little sis and nya is just like :0 And then he steals the sword of fire for shits and giggles and runs away And tries to save lloyd And then eventually joins up with the rest of the ninja and garmadon to save lloyd. and instead of the compation of who will be the first to find out the identity of samurai x it’s just who the mystery guy who keeps screwing with there plans and generaly causing chaos is And then when nya finds out it’s like

Just watching the first 15 minutes of the school for good and evil adaptation makes me remember how much I hate book to movie adaptations. This book has been butchered ho hell and back. Also as a warning to people who haven’t red the books or at least up until book three. DON’T SHIP AGITHA AND SOPHIE TOGETHER. They are revealed to be fraternal twins in the third book as they share a mother. While their relationship may give off heavy gay vibes they are sisters (unless they end up changing this major plot point I haven’t finished the movie yet). Please don’t make this mistake. Anyways back to watching what will no doubt turn out to be a brutal butchering of one of my favorite childhood books.

Also I apologize if the characters are OOC, I actually don't know much about Hu Tao and Qiqi's relationship yet only that Qiqi hates her and Hu Tao wants to bury her.

✦.It all started on a sunny afternoon in Luyue Harbor. Baizhu actually left the shop in Qiqi's forgetful hands to gather some things. So the tiny zombie child was stuck in the shop all day, not that she was bothered by that. Not going out means she can avoid a certain pyro user on the streets.

✦.But to her misery the 77th director of wangsheng parlour decided to visit bubu pharmacy while taking a stroll through liyue. Hu Tao got actually excited when she wasn't able to spot the green haired man somewhere. After all she kinda disliked Baizhu.

✦.Hu Tao spotted an familiar cryo user behind the counter and thought it would be fun to sneak up on her. So she slowly stepped to the counter, in a dodging position just to jump up in an suprising manner. Her hand palms hit the surface of the counter and the exciting eyes met the dull ones from Qiqi.

✦."Boo! It's time to bury you!" The pyro user exclaimed cheerfully. Qiqi on the other side couldn't care less, no real expression was written on her face but you could tell that she didn't appreciate Hu Tao's visit.

"Qiqi...doesn't want to...If you dont have an prescription...then...please leave."

✦."Come on. I make sure to seal you really good. So you have a peaceful way to the afterlife." No reply from Qiqi.

✦."Your grave will be pretty!" Hu Tao started to try to grab the child like in a tag game but the violet haired girl seemed to avoid Hu Tao's touch like death itself.

✦."Please bring an...prescription." "If I bring you an prescription, will you let me bury you?" Hu Tao got amused by the fact that they kinda started an tag game through the shop.

✦.Every time when Hu Tao tries to grab Qiqi, then the violet haired girl dodged it and runs in another direction. This goes on the whole time and none of them became tired.

✦.At the end when Baizhu returned, he was greeted by the image of two girls separated by an piece of funiture. Hearing something about needing an prescription to bury someone.

Ahhhh this is so late omg but @saecookie thank you so much for tagging me! 💜 Having a miserable time with my allergies rn and it’s pouring outside, so I finally have some time to play a tag game :D (Ig I did have time before, but I am an EXTREMELY verbose writer)

Favorite color: Purple/dark violet. I’ve always loved darker colors, like maroon, navy blue, forest green, and burgundy because of how strongly they’re associated with elegance, sophistication, and grace—none of which I have lmao, but I admire people who do, and aspire to be like them. It wasn’t lost on me when I learned as a kid in seventh grade history that indigo was an expensive shade to purchase in antiquity, so the color became associated with royalty.

But what really solidified purple for me was when it came to be associated with Bangtan. Say what you will about the toxicity of Twitter ARMY fan culture, which is notorious and totally fucked up, but their music and existence pulled me out of—and continue to do so—some very dark places. And I can pinpoint the exact moment that purple became dearest to my heart. On Weverse, the platform that BTS uses to communicate with fans, an ARMY expressed to BTS that they were unable to go to sleep. One of the members, Taehyung, replied with this:

It’s the first time I’m watching it and yes, everybody I know and their second cousins have roasted me for not watching it yet. Also yes, I am disappointed in myself. I thought it was overrated. I’m on episode 5 and it’s really fucking good.

Sweet, savory, or spicy? God, I love savory, but it’s sweet for me. I’m legitimately worried because diabetes runs in my family, and I literally cannot last a single day without having ingested at least a few sugary things. I need to cut down soon, but I just can’t resist.

Craving: …Not something sweet, for once. I tried that one ramen recipe that has gone viral on TikTok and holy FUCK it is good, but if my mom sees me preparing and eating something that she hasn’t already made, she’ll kill me. But man, am I craving it.

Currently working on: Wow, this question makes me feel shitty, lmao. I SHOULD be working on my novel, which is threadbare and just a bunch of vague and yet simultaneously complex ideas in my head that I don’t have the skills to execute yet. I also need to be studying for the GMAT, losing weight, cleaning my room, having actual clothes in my closet/a legit fashion sense, and… I just don’t know where to start, man. I end up not doing anything. Pressure from the family isn’t helping.

If you can manage to get past the explosive difference in their personalities and if you squint at just the right angle, you can almost see how the two might be related to one another. They both share the same broad shoulders and same round face. They share the same thick brown curls and blue-grey eyes, though Jacob’s hair is slicked back with product where Tris’s hangs loosely and haphazardly, and Jacob’s eyes are framed by bulky, rectangular glasses and have rather a lot less going on in the dark circles department.

At most in the beginning Penny was just kind of oblivious/flippant because she’s socially awkward lol

For the Next Gen heroes with siblings, what are the siblings' relationships with each other? Do they get along? Do they fight?

Maddie, Emma, and Lucien all get along entirely well with each other (although Mad and Em do have eventual playful ‘arguments’, just like all sisters do). Maddie is very much the ‘mom sibling’ who looks out for her brother and sister/keeps them out of trouble, Emma is the fun sibling who gets them to rebel every once in a while and be carefree, and Lucien is the sweet little brother who his two big sisters love watching and don’t have a problem with doing it.

As for Kara, Kailie, Miles and Nina… they’re a completely different story lol. Kara and Kailie fight over everything. One time, Kailie tried to roundhouse kick Kara in the face when they fought over the last five pancakes lol (true story). Thankfully, Kara dodged and squirted her with maple syrup. As for their younger siblings, it’s pretty much a game of Miles and Nina tag-teaming and trying to imitate/annoy the life out of their two big sisters lmao. But at the end of the day, they all love each other and will watch movies on the TV at midnight when Alya and Nino are asleep (their kids are ninjas XD).

Jade and Violet are by far the most tight-knit. Whenever Jade is left to care for/babysit for Violet, she never disobeys her and always listens. They’re both also really passionate about music, although Violet likes guitar (Luka’s so proud!) and their dad taught her, while Jade is a violinist. And when Jade is asked to go to the boarding school in Japan (later plotline, not at the chapter yet) she’d been dreaming of attending, one of the reasons she reconsiders/doubts it is because she’s afraid of leaving her sister behind for two reasons: Both because Violet’s her best friend and she doesn’t want to see her grow up without a role model, and because she doesn’t want there to be a new Peacock holder to take her place and she’s just beginning to grow close with the Agreste and Lahiffe sisters.

Viveka, Lilli and Julien are the playful siblings who have fun with each other all the time. Viveka is the young-adult kid who whenever they wanna do something risky/dangerous is like ‘have fun lol’ and just on her phone sometimes, looking at charm bracelets/outfits for her closet (considering she’s grown out of old things with her massive growth spurt). Lilli is the hyperactive type (makes sense she’s Rose’s birth daughter), and Julien is the quiet little brother.

Victoria and Brooke do not have an once of good relations between them. It started because, when Lila and Marc got divorced, she was still pregnant with Brooke and weaved an entire sob story and tried to win back Victoria, but when Chloe helped him out (she’s actually experienced with law in my hc!) and righted wrongs, he won full custody of Victoria, so Lila holds a grudge over that and favors Brooke for that reason (well, that’s making it much shorter). Not to mention, Brooke’s used her better treatment as an excuse to be mean to her sister, so that makes it worse. Thankfully, Victoria cuts ties with both her sister and mother and lives much happier and mentally healthier without the burden.

Rebecca is a good sibling, and even though her 11-year-old twin brother and sister and other 9yo brother drive her crazy sometimes, she still loves them with all her heart and considers being an older sister her greatest honor (even more than being a superhero).

Vivienne, yet with her anxiety and ADHD, she doesn’t really feel capable, per say of watching her little sister Eloise. But if Sabrina and/or Nathaniel is around and she feels comfortable, she’s fine with it, and plus, since she lives at the La Grand Paris four days out of the week and is Rebecca’s best friend, so she’s learned a lot about watching children from her. When she does watch Ellie, they love drawing together and sewing.

Kayla and Luna are the more so ‘rebellious’ and daredevil-ish sisters. Max and Alix are exhausted AF lmao.

Andrew, Birdie and Callie all are the ‘screw high/middle school drama, let’s go get food’ ragtag gang who hit the town and do whatever they want, and if they each have something different in mind, they do them all. They have lots of fun lol. But Aurore and Mireille will never know… haha!

And finally, Maisie and Harmony are really close-knit, and even though they have different interests (Maisie’s being ballet and nursing while Harmony’s are illustrating novels and writing), they love each other dearly and get along 98% of the time.

I was wondering if u can do a bunch of random facts/headcannons for the main cast?

Oh man, I mean, I’m happy to try, but I’m not sure where to start for the entire cast of 10… well, now 11 gods. I know have some that are scattered around the blog’s tags, and also in places other than tumblr, but It’ll take me a bit to find them or think of new ones without revealing spoilers, hmm…

So here’s what I’ll try that’s similar to the 1 Like 1 Fact meme I did on twitter a while ago: for every note this post receives, I’ll add a DEITIES-related headcanon or fact about the main cast. The main cast includes Set, Horus, Anubis, Osiris, Isis, Nephthys, Bastet, Sekhmet, Thoth, Ra, and nowwwww Sobek – and maybe the Set Spawn and the big bad serpent too, if relevant. You can add a note by +liking this post, and if you’re interested in learning about a particular deity, you can mention their name in a comment (and it’s not necessary to reblog this, unless you want to!).

This should help give me a bit more focus and time to think of some decent non-spoiler headcanons/facts to share. I’ll come back to this post in a few hours and add any many as I can, depending on the amount of notes it receives, and I’ll bump and place them under the cut for easy access. So yeah, go for it /o/!!

[1] Been playing with a headcanon where Horus’s Eye can see an object’s or person’s weak spots – though only for like, a moment once it’s activated, cuz I’ve wanted to avoid him being OP (but then again… he’s a literal god… so >>)

Also a related-headcanon where he can see a person’s past injuries thru his Eye too, including the hidden ones that have long-ago healed and left no visible scar. I’d like to draw the ones he “sees” on others one day if I keep it…

[2] Set is the only one of his siblings that doesn’t have an avian sacred animal, and for a while I wanted to keep it that way and literally keep him “grounded” compared to his family (sans Anubis). But I found that he’s sometimes also associated with crows (and falcons??? interestingly enough), and even though I haven’t found solid evidence of this yet, I also like the idea of him being associated with bats even before I read about it in Kane Chronicles I swear– So those 2-3 animals are probably some alternate animal form that he has but just rarely takes.

[3] Actually while I’m at it– aside from the Sha Animal, here’s a list of 30-ish animals that I keep as Set’s canon forms in DEITIES verse (based on a combination of historical speculation, recorded myths, and personal headcanons), and would love to eventually draw him as one day:

Aardvark, African Wild Ass (and Donkey), Giant Anteater, Baboon, Bat, Boar/Pig, Bull, Camel, Crocodile, Crow/Raven, Dog (some sort of sighthound?), Fennec Fox, Fish (Eel?), Gazelle/Antelope, Giraffe, Goat, Goose, Hare/Rabbit, Hippopotamus, [Spotted] Hyena, Jackal, Jerboa, Okapi, Oryx, Panther, Rat, Scorpion, Shark, Snake (Viper), and Zebra/Quagga.

[4] RELATEDLY… I REALLY REALLY like the idea of Set somehow acquiring a Thylacine form even tho it’s in no realistic way in the current timeline because thylacines weren’t native to Africa let alone Egypt. BUT… I JUST… THEY REMIND ME OF SHA ANIMALS SO MUCH o)——–

[5] When I was considering the color schemes for the main cast, I once briefly envisioned a purple/violet scheme for Nephthys, but decided to scrap it because (1) I wanted her colors to contrast with her sister’s and match a bit more with her husband’s and son’s and (2) I found that purple was nigh impossible to find in AE wall art and admittedly worried “maybe it won’t look authentic if I use those colors;;;”

Even though I’m happy with her orange/black/red scheme now, I’ve recently found that purple is a common association / kemetic UPG (or doxa?) with her?? SO THAT WAS INTERESTING… I don’t think I’ll change her color scheme for DEITIES, but maybe I’ll draw her in an alternate purple outfit one day to see how it looks on her >>

[6] One of the reasons why I like Horus, Anubis, and Bastet as their own casual friend group in DEITIES verse is that, because they’re all relatively young gods, they all share the experience/pressure of being measured up against their older royal relatives – Horus being seen as both his father and mother’s legacy and feeling the pressure to restore his family’s throne; Anubis being know for his infamous father, and even having his paternity questioned (via rumors and “myths”); and Bastet being the youngest of Ra’s daughter, sometimes being compared to her sister’s roles and achievements.

They’re all really good at masking any pressure they feel, but they also probably confide in each other about it more than with others, cuz they’ve all “been there.”

[7] Relatedly, one of the earliest version of DEITIES Project, before it was known as “Deities Project,” had Horus, Anubis, and Bastet as the main trio. That’s been changed “for reasons” since then, and their characters were quite different back then, but it might be fun to explore a story that focused on the 3 of them someday.

[8] Okay ya’ll know the part during The Contendings where Horus and Set are racing in stone boats and Horus “wins” by painting his wooden boat to look like stone? I have ideas for how that entire race happens in DEITIES verse that would be fun to explore as a side story, but in order for me to give Horus a “legit” way to win without outright cheating, he covers his boat with stone casing/accents, and after he wins and is confronted about it… well…

HORUS: “The rules we agreed on were to sail a boat made with stone. They said nothing about it needing to be made entirely out of stone.”SET: “…”HORUS: “ :)c ”SET: “…” *Internally raging*

[9] I’ve headcanon’d that Nephthys has her own set of ~7 Shabti who act as her personal assistants while she’s conducting her nightly duties, or working around her home, but I haven’t decided much more past that (still debating on how she acquired them, and if she more-than-likely named them…).

The concept and number were loosely based on how many of the other goddesses had their own sets of 7 as extensions of their power and/or control (7 Ribbons of Hathor, 7 Arrows of Sekhmet, Isis’s 7 Scorpions), and I thought it’d be neat if the Goddess of Service had her own Shabti that exemplified that part of her domain.

[10] Thoth is an avid lover of puzzles, trivia, and strategy games, and he’s also exceptionally skilled at games of chance. He doesn’t gamble or make bets often because he understands the risks, but when he does he tries to be calculative about it… and also has a natural knack for luck going his way (EX: That one game of senet that he won to help assist Nut with having her children… which is another story for another day)

[11] Ummmmm Isis is the only one of the main cast who I haven’t drawn a ref of her sacred animal form yet… or at least, not digitally. Her animal is the kite, but I’ve been debating on a while for what species to base her design on. I like the idea of her kite form looking like the Black-winged Kite, although those species aren’t native to Egypt… but some are native to Africa… and they’re so fricken pretty and they fit her colors so well so I might cave on this ffffffffffff–

[12] While we’re on the subject of sacred animals (and to help me get somewhat closer to the note count lmao I’m trying guys–), Horus’s falcon form is based on both the Peregrine falcon and the Lanner falcon, with more simplified markings for my own sanity when I draw him in dozens of panels.

At one point, I considered making his falcon form leucistic to contrast more with Anubis and Set, buuuuuut I also liked the brown colors on the falcons’ normal coloration, so I kept it. (That and more leucistic birds of prey are hawks, so… maybe for Khonsu tho if I don’t change him to an owl, hmmmm…)

[13] Okay continuing thoughts on animal forms, Bastet is able to shift her cat form into nearly any coloration or breed she desires (aside from her eyes, which remain green), but for the purposes of DEITIES I draw her as a brown cat with light gradation markings. I knew of the Egyptian Mau but also realized the spots would take a lot of effort to redraw in the panels where she appears as a cat (much like the spots on falcons for Horus). I also personally really like solid-colored coats on cats, and in particular I liked the coloration of the Havana Brown, so it may be a little less authentic but it did factor into her colors as well.

[14] I'm still debating on Sekhmet's main hairstyle and want to play with it a bit more -- not the arrangement per se but whether to keep it as locks or to make them more obvious twists -- or perhaps a combination -- since I can see her with both style at certain points in time. Either way, at full length Sekhmet's hair is very long: if she were to loosen her tie and let it fall, her longest locks would reach past her hips.

[15] I initially gave Set yellow eyes because even though he's often depicted with red eyes, I didn't want to over saturate his design with just... well, red -- especially in his animal form where his entire body is covered in red fur (red eyes + red sclera would have been, a lot). I like how his yellow eyes provide some contrast, and I've since found some story-related reasons where his eyes might play some role in the plot… but anything further might be spoilery 8')c

[16] It took me a while to settle on Osiris's "resurrected" skin tone because there were a lot of sources that describe his skin as being green, or blue, or black in coloration. I even tried them out in an earlier color test that I shared on patreon, but I eventually went with black since the color has had various meanings in Ancient Egypt that include both life and death. (It also gave me some opportunity to give green skin to Ptah and blue skin to Hapi to help vary the designs for each of those gods).

[17] Relatedly, Osiris's mortal form is a naturally dark skin tone, but following this death he can no longer appear in that form. He is also unable to travel to the overworld / realm of the living, though I'm still debating on how restrictive this is (if it's limited to his physical body or if he can split his soul under special circumstances, or with assistance). Regardless, most of his correspondence with other deities have to be arranged within Duat for this reason.

[18] I haven't made any plans to designate a spouse or romantic partner for Ra. I understand that there were a number of goddesses that were associated with him in the myths and often said to be his wife, but for that reason it was hard to settle on choosing one -- or multiple, and I realized that for the purpose of the main story it might not be necessary. I also kinda like exploring the idea of this high king and powerful creator deity who's also a happily single father, and where it's not for tragic reasons like the separation from or death of his spouse (not to knock that trope at all tho sdjfdsf). I'm not opposed to him being shipped with anyone though, I just don't think I've been inclined to do it myself lmAO;;

[19] RELATEDLY, while Ra's daughters (Sekhmet, Mafdet, Hathor, Serqet, Bastet) don't have a biological mother, I like to think that they were raised in an environment with a lot of parental figures and mentors to go around, aside from just their father. I haven't quite settled on how it was organized though, but I know that the daughters regard Thoth as something of an uncle/secondary dad (tho their dynamic with Thoth is can vary a lot from the one the have with Ra), as well as their teacher and mentor. I can also see where other gods like Khnum, Khepri, and Bes, and goddesses like Neith, Seshat, Taweret, Ma'at, and Mut, might also have played some direct mentor role in the daughters' upbringing and sense of self.

[20] (squick + implied nsfw) I uh… have this minor gag headcanon where Horus, Isis, and Osiris just don't eat fish. They just… don't. And it's entirely based on that one part of the myths after Osiris's death, where a certain part of Osiris's desecrated body ended up in the river and was swallowed by a fish 8')c (should be noted that I'm not saying that event did happened in DEITIES canon, but I'm also not disputing it either >>).

Apparently that was considered a bad omen, and I still find conflicting information on whether consumption of fish was taboo for some or all in Ancient Egypt (I think "for some" makes better sense, cuz why would an entire society that resides near the Nile river pass up on a perfectly available food source?? But I digress, I might need to review this again so take my thoughts with a grain of salt--). I also admit that I've seen it mentioned that fish are not ideal food offerings for Isis and Osiris?? and I can imagine that maybe Horus adopts the distaste for them as well. Either way, I go with the DEITIES canon that while most people and deities happily consume fish, Horus and his parents will not, and they don't enjoy it as offerings either.

i’m bad at coming up with questions so i’m not going to do the 10 questions. but i am going to answer the questions that were listed. also this is an open tag, so anyone who wants to do it can do it.

1) We always talk about favorites. What’s your least favorite book?

hmmm. one book i’ve always hated is the scarlett letter. we read it in school and it was awful.

2) Do you have a favorite place to write? What’s it like there?

i didn’t really have a favorite place to write until recently. a few months ago i finally got a desk and i’ve been in love with it ever since. 

very, very cluttered. there’s all kinds of stuff piled on it. on one side i’ve got soda cans, plastic bottles, my phone; the other side is junk food, my glasses case, a couple of necklaces. i have an old sugar plum fairie barbie on the top shelf that i tried to sell, that nobody wanted even though i had it for like $5 (i might post a picture of it later bc it’s super pretty).

3) Do you have any artistic endeavors other than writing? If not, what else would you most like to learn to do?

back before the writing bug really bit me, i used to draw all the time. now i barely ever draw unless i get really inspired. 

hmmm, i don’t know. maybe sign up for duolingo and learn other languages?? other than that i don’t know.

4) What’s your favorite holiday? Why? Have you ever written a story involving that holiday?

halloween is my favorite, followed closely by christmas just bc i love the tacky decorations and the music and the movies and pretty much everything about it. 

looool i have tried to write fics involving these holidays, but they never come out how i want them to and i’ve kind of given up on it. 

5) How do you fight writer’s block?

silly answer: drink so much caffeine i ascend to the astral plane to get advice from the writing gods.

actual answer: there’s not really an easy way to answer this. sometimes i see writing posts that are like, “you have to write every day!!” and i’m thinking y’know that’s not always possible. whether i’m out of inspiration/ideas, or i’m in a depression spiral, or i’m tired from work, or maybe i’m just not feeling that particular project. it’s not a sin to need a break from your wips, bc even though it’s happy work it’s still work. and there’s no shame in needing to take a breather to get yourself sorted out. 

on days when i’m ready to write, i do different things to get myself pumped up for my wips. i’ll make playlists, make aesthetic boards, sometimes i torture my mutuals with rambles about my ocs or tag them with little excerpts from the project. i really like making an aesthetic tag so i can go and look at all the pretty stuff that makes me think of the wip, so i can remind myself why i want to write it in the first place.

6) At what point in a WIP do you decide to send it to your first beta readers/reviewers?

probably not until i’m at least done with a second draft. the first draft needs to have all those plot holes filled, all those loose threads woven back together, characters need developing. showing a beta reader my first draft would be like taking a person to a room filled with beginning sketches of people where they’re still just shapes instead of having any defining features. 

7) What’s your greatest inspiration?

i don’t think i have one lol.

8) A lot of writers have certain things they like to describe - food, clothes, fights, party scenes. What’s your favorite thing to describe?

emotional scenes where characters talk about their problems and they hug and maybe even cry. i’m a terrible person.

9) What’s your approximate ratio of reading to writing? How do you find time for both? Do you do both on the same day, or split it up?

you’re going to judge me for this, but i haven’t been reading actual books lol. the last few months i’ve just been reading fanfic oneshots with like the occasional multichapter fic thrown in. my attention span has been terrible.

10) What books would you recommend to someone to get them into reading?

i think it depends on the person. what i might find compelling, someone else might find super boring.

i don’t really like writing stuff that doesn’t have some kind of paranormal element. so i guess i’d say my writing enemy that i like reading is real world drama. 

my favorite books that are like idk period pieces i guess?? are Anne of Green Gables and Pride and Prejudice. 

as for stuff that’s based in more recent times, there’s a ya series i really like called tiny pretty things that’s about a group of ballerinas competing against each other for spots for prima ballerina?? and there’s a lot of drama and backstabbing. it’s kind of a dark series. 

2. What book would you love to see turned into a movie or tv show? Any particular reasons why?

i can’t think of anything right now. maybe green angel by alice hoffman?

3. Have you ever written a character with a certain real-life person in mind. Was it someone you know in real life or someone famous?

some of my ocs were originally based off acquaintances, but as i kept writing them the characters changed so much that they became pretty much unrecognizable. 

4. If your latest WIP had a color scheme, what would it be?

paper heart would be red, orange, pink, and purple. the colors of a sunset with the threat of darkness falling over everything. 

5. What do you eat or drink while writing (if anything)?

s’mores poptarts if i’m too lazy to get up and fix myself something. chips. different sodas: cherry coke, sunkist, grape fanta. 

6. What do you do to restore your inspiration when you’re not writing?

watch movies/tv shows. listen to podcasts or music. look at cool pictures. 

7. Coffee, Tea, Booze, or ALL THREE?

coffee and booze. i’m not a big fan of tea. 

8. Who is your favorite visual artist?

uhhhh, does studio ghibli count? their artwork is so appealing to look at.

9. Do you have any other creative pursuits outside of writing? What are they?

maybe learning other languages??

i’m trying to think of what paper heart would be, but i’m drawing a blank. this needs to be its own game where someone else guesses what movies your wip is the lovechild of.

cheering on and also being cheered on during the writing process. getting to read all these wonderful stories written by wonderful people. knowing other people are suffering just as much as i am lol.

i am terrible at collaborating with other people lol. 

4. Do you prefer reading/writing standalones or series? 

i love reading series, but i’m not good at writing them lol. yet somehow i always end up writing series.

7. If you could write an adaptation of any story, which would it be?   

while i have zero desire to write an adaptation for a story, i’ve always liked the idea of a movie version of Green Angel by Alice Hoffman. mostly bc it’s surreal, a little weird, post apocalyptic, and it would just look really cool.

8. What common writing tips never work for you? And/or what uncommon advice do you swear by? 

anything that’s like, “if you don’t write everyday, you’re not a real writer!!” like chill dude. just bc i’m not cranking out 1,000 words a day like some lean, mean, writing machine doesn’t mean i’m not dedicated to what i’m doing. 

9. Do you research before, during, or after writing sessions? 

it depends. sometimes i get to a point in a fic where i’m like, “uh oh” and i go into a research spiral trying to find this one specific thing. thinking ah yes, this is the specific thing i need at this very moment that i probably could do without.

10. Have you had a writing epiphany that totally revamped your WIP?

if only. there were a few game changers in the next three days series that changed things for the better:

- the way carter and matteo first met lmao. 

- violet’s existence. 

- sage rescuing and then leaving violet and carter. 

- carter and nina’s bromance. 

- alec and carter, and also joe and matteo being siblings.

1. What is your sim’s favorite food? He’s a teen boy currently, so he will eat just about anything lol. He likes salty snacks, though.

Does your sim believe in “love at first sight”? He likes the idea of it, but he’s skeptical.  5. What is your sim’s sexuality? Straight 6. Is your Sim a cat or dog person? (or both?) Dog :) 7. And at his dad’s, family dinners. Elliot isn’t much of a cook, and neither is Clem, so they go out to restaurants a lot. They try to always go to new places, which Levi really enjoys! 19.
