🌟 Your Mental Health Matters! 🌟
In a world that constantly demands more, remember to prioritize yourself. Your mental well-being is just as important as your physical health. 💚
🗣️ It's OKAY to talk about your feelings. Sharing your thoughts with someone you trust can make a world of difference. 🤝
🤗 Self-care is NOT selfish. Take time for yourself, whether it's a bubble bath, a good book, or a walk in nature. You deserve it! 🌿
💪 Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Reach out to a therapist, counselor, or a support group if you need it. You're not alone. 💕

Time to Talk Day, a moment dedicated to breaking down the stigma and inspiring people to talk about their mental health.
Although it may not be an easy topic to discuss, being open about mental health can truly make an impact on our lives and transform them for the better.
To mark this day, our Mental Health Allies hosted a drop-in coffee morning open to all, and have also collated mental health stories of people from across GroupM who were happy to share their personal experiences, to help and inspire others.
We wish to thank our friends at Time to Talk Day for encouraging us all to make space in the day to start a conversation about mental health.

Mental Health Stats
I continue to talk about mental health on my blog because mental health touches every aspect of our lives. It plays a role in how we think, how we feel, in our perception of the world, of what is going on around us, and how we respond to what is going on.
The Stats on Mental Health
This makes for sombre reading. There is an estimated 18.1% (or 43.6 million) adults in the United States deal with issues pertaining to mental health. Around 4.2% (9.8 million) adults in the US have a mental health condition that is severe and debilitating, with neuropsychiatric disorders being the leading cause of disability in America. (Source: https://www.mentalhealthhotline.org)
These stats are alarming, considering mental health issues take time to manifest over a number of years. It unfortunately also suggests there is very little being done to help those with mental health issues. Where mental health begins to affect how you live your life, how you think, feel and act, then you know you're dealing with mental health issues, which inevitably can get worse if those are not addressed.
Mental Health relies on our 'Mental Health Status'
Mental health plays a role in how we cope with life. Our challenges tend to rely on our mental health status. Where we choose not to deal with our mental health there can be a domino effect. Ignoring mental health, ignoring how we feel can lead to hopelessness, depression, stress, feelings of guilty, anxiety, worthlessness, and a feeling that we lack the control, which for many can culminate in suicide attempts and suicide.
Stigma and Mental Health
There is still a stigma around mental health. For those who continue to deal with mental health issues, they may still continue to carry the stigma. But stigma has been attached to mental health issues for hundreds of years with people being involuntary institutionalised. When institutions eventually closed in the 1980 and the 1990’s, In the UK, they were replaced by 'Care in the Community.'
Although stigma associated with mental health hasn’t gone, there is more acceptance now. The more the world begins to understand the importance of mental health, the more people will start to be proactive, and the more they will begin to reach out to get the help they need.
In my own case, although I was aware I didn't feel right, I went with my gut instincts and that led me into exploring more about my mental health. I never stopped trying to find the answers, to feel better about what I had to deal with.
Not everyone knows they are vulnerable
Not all of us will initially recognise whether we are vulnerable to mental health issues, but it is important not to take our eye off the ball. Knowing we are, highlights the risk factors. It is important to take preventative measures to make sure we deal with our mental health.
Why wait until it's too late to act? It's never too late to start to educate yourselves on mental health and why it is important to be proactive. For many it is sometimes the last thing they address.

Stockport County Squad Show Up for Mentell ✍️@_HannahJBrown #stockportcounty #mentell #timetotalk
Men’s mental health charity Mentell announced today on their Facebook page that League Two promotion contenders Stockport County will be wearing tops with the Mentell slogan ‘men, is it time to talk?’ for the warm up before their final game of the season against Hartlepool, the first EFL club to show their support in this way. The Ashbrittle yew (Taxus baccata). This yew is situated in the churchyard of the Devon village Ashbrittle. It is over 3000 years old, I find this staggering, think of all the events that have occurred within the lifetime of this tree!
Trees like this fascinate me, however, the big thing to consider is to have lived this long, think of all the hardships and battles this tree has had to overcome to keep on living, it can’t run away, it is fixed in position.
I see this as a humbling message for all of us, don’t run away from your troubles, fight, keep on moving forward as by doing so you WILL overcome them, and things will get better!

Yay it's Friday
Been feeling a little but empty, bored, lonely and frustrated in the evenings recently. The beat is definitely not helping as it's so uncomfortable it's impossible to relax. Hoping when it gets cooler I will feel a little better.
Trying to remember that we don't and can't feel good all.the time. It's only natural to feel the other side of the spectrum of emotions and that's okay. It's okay to keep like tnat because we are social and like to be around people.
Feelings are like weather, not to let them consume me.
I've been trying to focus on myself, get used to being on my own, be more independent and spend time alone in the last year or so.
Counselling helped me realise and figure out that I struggle with attachment, validate through others and sometimes struggle to know how i feel or what I want. My sister read something from the DSM aboutacl of insecure sense of self and merging with others, this is why it's so difficult when you end a relationship with someone as you can't detach from them the same way others can.
Knowing us has definitely helped, being aware means you can notice the patterns and be aware of things and how they affect you. It's still really hard though. The theory and practice is usually overcome or strongly challenged by the emotions and feelings that are so strong. It's such hard work too be rational minded enough enough analyse and understand them.
The last person I was involved with showed me red flags on the first date, then a week later and i stil stayed another 4 weeks ish until it became obvious. I still didn't have the courage to let go and tap into that part of me that knew it and say it out loud. Strong feelings of some sort of connection or attachment, worrying about them, wanting to help them, being easily peer pressured and so empathetic that I get mixed up with my emotions and theirs.
I want to be abke to trust my gut and just know and make the right decision sooner but it's always clouded at the moment. Hopefully each of these experiences will help
I miss curling uo on my bed with the duvet and feeling cosy, safe and chill and faclling asleep.

Goodbye Time To Change
The mental health campaign Time To Change is closing at the end of March 2021. I’ve been involved with them at different times so this is my goodbye to them. For those that don’t know, Time To Change is a mental health campaign started in the UK ten years ago. It’s a social movement, meaning it’s work is based on using those with lived experience to talk to others to raise awareness of mental…
