Welcome to the February monthly favorites, I was actually on time this month and I have some good reads to share, which is surprising since last month I talked about this possibly going downwards in terms of being interesting.

Alice in borderland 2:

If you have read my Alice in borderland review before this will just be a continuation of that. The second season was okay, I didn’t feel like there was anything outstanding in terms of the “life and death” aspect of the game. I think the only part that stood out to me was the jail cell game where people had to find the mastermind through lies.

But Netflix can we please stop with the unnecessary sex scenes…it really does not add to the story it just takes you out of it and really does not need to be there.lol. This is literally the prime example of what I talked about in my last monthly favorites.

Anyways, other than that the ending didn’t really make sense to me as to how these people got there in the first place. But judging from how it ended it looks like there may be a continuation? Who knows.lol.

The last of us:

Okay I know there is a show right now airing on HBO and my friend and I are watching it together but before that, I have watch the entirety of someone’s game play so I know the story well, and it’s a really good game, I can’t play it myself cause I’m not good a shooting games lol, but I will watch other people play it instead, and live vicariously through their experience. I have only seen the first two episodes so far and even though it feels like if you know the game you know who these characters are, it wasn’t really indicated who was who and their importance, but I guess that it what TV shows do, my friend watches the walking dead and she enjoys theses shows so it wasn’t that had for her to follow, which is good.

There is only one we need to talk about this month…

Pearl Boy:

Oh boy here comes the landmine, there was so much drama concerning the latest chapter (chapter 70) and honestly there should have been a trigger warning is to what you’re about to experience. This chapter I have not read yet and I don’t think I will read until the English translation is out, because it has a lot of uncomfortable things in it…ie. R*pe and assault and the classic UB’s. But how that chapter ended up like that ties in with the overall story, of jooha wanting to escape his past and inevitably having to be forced to go through it again, this time taking the last bit of happiness he felt in just one day…that’s how it gets you, the author had stated many times that her story goes from two extremes and you won’t know when that will happen. Which is why when I update you on this story I always say that it is anxiety inducing every Saturday. This chapter from what I’ve seen in the spoilers, was the worst these characters have had it.

Dooshik trying to find where jooha is located and probably having to witness the assault and have a mental shut down is what I’m guessing will happen. And jooha having slowly recovered a little will again fall into despair and want to end his life…I really hate this, but things like this do happen to people and all because of one as*hole who has nothing better to do but harass boys….WTF is wrong with these people? people on twitter were also complaining about the story and how it just became traumatizing and disgusting, which is funny to me because if you have read the story from the beginning it was like that from the start, clearly these people have selective memory or read the story in the middle or something because what they are saying makes no sense.

I knew from when the author drew fan art of the series I dropped called “married man/missing love” that she had read all the torture P*rn stuff and possibly decided to use that. So I kind of already suspected this scene, and honestly I think it’s used as a shock factor and nothing more. It wasn’t shocking to me but it is getting repetitive to see this scene in a lot of works. I do agree with the fact that some people stated that it’s not original and recycled from other authors, but in the context of the story it made sense, so it wasn’t out of the blue. Still seeing characters you love suffer like this honestly made me cry especially in chapter 71 which is the one from last Saturday, the looks of despair and embarrassment and guilt was really portrayed well, and dooshik just went from being conscious to “I’m going to slaughter them all….” As much as I do want that, it’s going to break his mentation, he wasn’t able to protect the ones he love in his past from abuse and this time he thought he would be able to, I know for sure he’s going to blame himself for everything.

And after seeing the earlier premonition of dooshik on a stretcher, there was a gunshot at the end of the chapter. I really hope that douche didn’t make jooha shoot dooshik cause that will definitely be the end for the both of them. I still really want for jooha to have his moment and this could be the time for him to stand up on his own and fight back. Jooha had been feeling guilty of being happy and having nothing to give back to dooshik for all the love he has received from him. He even prayed for his mother to give him the strength he needs to do one good thing for him. I hope this isn’t going to go the way I think it will let’s just say that.

In summary I knew that a*hole was bad news when he was first introduced but y’all simp for people like that and I’m worried for all of you. Lesson 1 don’t approach people with money you know they’d be doing shady sh*t with all of that.

Okay I’ll do my best to remember as much as I can about these stories, I have read them a while back so I don’t remember much.

Secondo Piatto

““The sympathizing romance between two men letting go of their unrequited love?!

Tae Hyun-wook is the young team leader in charge of the Violent Crimes Unit who graduated from the National Police University. He believed that someday he’d marry Heesun, his female friend for whom he bears a long-time one-sided love.

“Hyun-wook, I’m getting married.”

At the announcement of Heesun’s marriage, Hyunwook pretends hard to look calm and congratulate her. Besides, to help her prepare for the wedding, he even stupidly meets her in a restaurant called ‘Secondo Piatto’ in an attempt to put on a prideful act… Seo Wonyoung is the owner and chef there. He’s an old friend of Minseok, Heesun’s soon-to-be husband.

But the detective’s intuition tells him that there’s something odd in the way Wonyoung looks at Minseok…? At first he pretends it’s just a passing coincidence, but he proves himself right on the wedding day, when he sees Wonyoung, on his knees, crying out for Minseok in the empty restaurant…!”

This is a really good story, let me just say that now instead of leaving it to the end. The struggle to leave something behind and starting something new is a really hard thing to portray especially in fiction because you can technically just make these characters get over something quickly if you write it in, but it won’t resonate with people if it seems like the process was rushed. This story is slow portrayal of two people getting over their unrequited love of a married couple.

At first I was like..okay how many of these have I read now? Wonyoung and Hyunwook had been in love with their best friends for the longest time and when both their best friends met and decided to marry, they were in shock since they thought that they would be the potential partners for them. They all met and the groom (minseok) and the bride (heesun) decided to have their wedding venue at the restaurant that wonyoung managed since he was a really renown chef who studied in France and moved back to korea and take over his family’s restaurant “Second Piatto” Wonyoung already had accepted the fact that his best friend would not return the feelings of a gay man and decided to bottle those feelings up and hopefully it will pass. When he met hyunwook and the bride heesun he could tell that they were close, it was later at the wedding day when hyunwook revealed to wonyoung that he was in love with heesun but that didn’t matter since it’s over now and they should put their feelings at rest. Hyunwook mainly didn’t want wonyoung to interfere with their relationship since hyesungk and minseok seems to be happy together. The result of that is the two of them getting wasted and getting in bed with each other. After their first night together they acknowledge that it was a mistake and they took it too far. But seeing wonyoung being in a mess with his feelings hyunwook couldn’t help but want to support him, at first it just meant satisfying his desires to be with minseok, but evolved into wanting to stay close with him until he is able to move on. Wonyoung didn’t really like the idea that hyunwook cared about him so much, but after a night of drinking with some old classmates he had realized that minseok can’t be there anymore whenever he called since he’s happily married now. So after minseok left the party to go home to his wife, hyunwook called and one of his classmates asked him if he can pick up wonyoung since he is pissed drunk and can’t move. Hyunwook hurried over to the place and piggy backed wonyoung home. They decided to be there for each other until they both are able to move on with another person. That night when they were having sex, wonyoung told hyunwook about his first relationship and how it ended up with the guy almost committing suicide because ending a relationship to that person would be devastating and that guilt had stayed with him throughout his life.

Just a PSA, this needs to be said but what that person does is not your fault don’t let a person threaten you with their life, I know some people who would do that an blame it on you. Just remember it’s not your fault and you are not responsible for their actions. Which is what hyunwook said to him and it needed to be said.

The part I like the most in this story so far was this scene where wonyoung opens up about that to hyunwook and just buried his face in the blanket, and hyunwook just holds him in his arms affectionately, I don’t know why but that was really romantic to me than all the sex scenes combined.lol. It’s the way that he held him, his body looks really strong and warm and I was in love with hyunwook at this point, he is one fine man ladies and gents…

So for a while they spent their time together, wonyoung giving hyunwook food when made too much, and hyunwook visiting wonyoung when he was sick and took care of him, they spent a lot of their time together even though they weren’t officially dating or anything, hyunwook was slowly putting wonyoung first before anything else which signifies that he really does care about him.

Soon afterwards when hyunwook and wonyoung met up with minseok for drinks, hyunwook slowly realizes that minseok likes to be affectionate towards wonyoung, and although one person just behaves that way in a brotherly aspect the other does not feel that way. This made hyunwook a little jealous and call minseok out for it, knowing that minseok would never be replaced inside wonyoung’s heart he decided to go on a blind date set up with one of minseok/wonyoung’s friends.

She was the girl that picked up the call at the drinking party with the classmates, I mentioned earlier and had told minseok that she’s like to go on date with hyunwook if he’s single and interested. Hyunwook knows that the thing he has with wonyoung will end as soon as they are able to move on so he took the first leap and went on the date with the friend.

It had been days since he had been in contact with wonyoung, ever since the drinking night with minseok they had decided that maybe it was time for them both to move on. Hyunwook and the girl was doing well on their date until they went to a nearby café and found wonyoung there with some other guy. Hyunwook didn’t like the way he was touching him, it seems forceful and disrespectful, so it had been on his mind the whole date. The girl noticed that he hyunwook didn’t seem like he was alright and hyunwook admitted that he was sorry and that he had someone else he was in love with and thus ended their date.

He went to go see wonyoung at his apartment and found wonyoung coming back soaking wet from the rain. Possibly running away from the other guy when he forced him to do things he did not like, hyunwook noticed the bruise on wonyoung’s lip and confronted him about going to see partners that were abusing him. They had a scuffle which then made hyunwook confessed that he liked wonyoung and that’s why he’s here, but wonyoung didn’t want to admit that he already caught feelings for hyunwook and was afraid to move on from his comfortable place of being in love minseok. But later he began to accept hyunwook’s affection and went on a date with him, still finding ways to reject him, they met up with heesun and minseok for dinner because it turns out that heesun is now pregnant and they wanted their best friends to know about it first. All the other two could do was congratulate them on the baby, they talked about how they were in the past and how different they are now after heesun and minseok got married. They asked hyunwook how the blind date went and hyunwook said they weren’t compatible and said he liked someone else.

After the 4 left, wonyoung took care of the drunk hyunwook and drove him back home to his apartment, in the car he answered all of the questions hyunwook asked by text in order to get to know him and ended up saying how a straight man can never really fall in love with someone whose gay and how he can’t give him a family and children which is what ultimately societal depictions try to push on us, so this part made me cry a little, these characters are in their 30s and so am I, so I understand thinking about your future aspect in life.

Hyunwook had sobered up at this point and addressed all of wonyoung’s concern saying that he’s not straight anymore and had not been for a while since he met him. All hyunwook wants to do is think of them dating now and not worry about the future when all there is now is the present, so finally wonyoung accepted hyunwook’s feelings as well as his own and try out this new relationship.

I’m going to stop there since the next part has a lot to unfold but, I’m really enjoying this manhwa so far, it’s different from the ones that just have repetitive stories and it’s really heartwarming. Please support the author by reading it on its published platforms.

Tread lightly on thawing ice:

If you are familiar with series like the Untamed (MDZS) or heavens official blessing and any of that danmei genre then this is one that falls into that category. I have to say after I finished anything MDZS related back in the day, I could not find anything that came close to being as good as that series, I have read the authors other works and did not like any of them. This series is from another author, I’m actually not sure if it is Chinese manhwa adapted into Korean but I have seen both titles in the respective languages so I’m not sure. I read this in Korean so I’m just going to assume that it is a Korean original story line.

This manhwa starts off with a battle between two clans and goes into a scene that I’m assuming is a time skip between the two characters. Then it cuts into a scene with a young man going off to see his master and on his way he saw a male slave being abused by one of the attendees to his master. He rushed over and saw the man looking pale/thin and bruised all over and wanted to confront the attendant for his abusive behavior. This is a time period where the slaves have no rights and social status is the hierarchy, and since the young man was the 3rd disciple of the grand master he had much more authority than the attendant. He helped the slave up and escorted him where he needed to be, it turns out the slave was a maid of his master (the grandmaster) and so he took him to where is master was. Upon arrival the master was so happy to see his disciple, but seeing the maid in tow made him a little anxious…hmmm. I wonder why? The disciple, Kangho thought it was weird that his master turned a blind eye to his personal maid being beaten, since he’s always known his master to be a kind and generous man, but he was intrigued by the maid who can barely stand on his feet and really wanted to help him. So he had asked his master if he can investigate the matter, the grandmaster was against the idea but kangho seems to like to do things his way. Kangho had followed the maid a couple times and assisted him and learned that his named was woo, so he addressed him as such in a friendly matter. The attendant saw that the maid was getting special treatment and decided to remove him from the estate and made him live in the woods without food and under poor living conditions. He was basically banished here to die on his own. But upon noticing this removal, kangho visited the maid and gave him survival equipment, medicine and food. Woo didn’t like the idea that kangho was there to support him, it turns out that woo was once a grandmaster in another estate that fell under attack and had been betrayed by his own people, he was almost murdered by his general and fell off a cliff with a young boy in his arms, that boy was …you guessed it…kangho.

Young kangho was apparently a lost relative of the other grandmaster and it was woo who found him and took care of him while he was at his estate. But the two clans had raged a war and kangho and woo ended up falling off a cliff and the other clan grandmaster found them and woo was near death.

Woo wanted to stay in the enemy clan and watch kangho grow up despite the grandmaster telling him off to go back many times, he even tried to disfigure himself in order to not be recognized. The grandmaster let him be and just treated him like a shadow that didn’t exist, which is why all the abuse happened and he did nothing for him. In the end woo ended up staying in the enemy clan for 10 years since that time and not once had he ran into kangho cause the grandmaster made sure they didn’t cross paths, until now.

Kangho was insistent on helping woo out in any way, but it seems that woo had did all he could to behave like a slave and take nothing from him. After that night when woo had been attacked by wolves, kangho had confronted his master about the abuse and told him that he wanted to take custody of woo in his household, and so the grandmaster transferred the rights to kangho and now woo was now in his custody as a maid. Kangho then showed woo to his room which was very extravagant and not fit for a slave, kangho apparently just used the slave custody as an excuse to rescue him, he meant to treat him like a guest and not his personal maid. But no matter how much kangho gave him, woo never took anything from him and that made kangho really upset.lol. He is so cute…

I’m going to go off tangent and say that kangho…man he’s so pretty, he is actual eye candy, a lot of characters in this series is like that too, woo is really pretty as well. It’s just a nod to the artist who made this manhwa so gorgeous. But kangho though…he is so fine. If anyone has ever watched the anime “Basilisk” this webtoon reminds me of that art style

Anyways, back to the actual story. Kangho was obsessed with getting woo’s attention and in some cases woo accepted kangho’s kindness because he knows from the past that was just how he is. There were reasons why woo avoided kangho and that was because when they fell off the cliff kangho was severely injured and woo had actually in his last breath moved them both into a secret location that belonged to the enemy clan, the grandmaster was there and woo told him that kangho was his blood related nephew. Woo had momentarily died at that point and the grandmaster was going to leave it at that since he wasn’t able to revive him. Kangho woke up and was looking for woo and upon seeing his dead body, he tried to take his own life multiple times. This made the grandmaster seal away his memories. The grandmaster was worried that if woo and kangho were to be together often those memories may resurface as well as the pain that he had to bear.

That didn’t stop kangho and woo from being close though, they both enjoyed each other’s company and wanted to know the other better, which really leads to them having a romantic attraction towards each other to a certain degree. But the grandmaster had met up with woo a couple times and had suggested to woo that if he wanted stay he will need to obey him and with that made him drink poison everyday so that woo’s body will be under the grandmasters disposal when the time comes, there was also a maid named Yeon jin, I don’t really know what role she plays as of yet but she had been threatened by the grandmaster and others to spy on woo and report on his activities, as well as give him the poisonous soup to drink each day. Yeon jin also had spent a lot of time with woo so she somewhat knows that he is not a slave, his mannerisms were not like a slave but as an important figure, so she had been secretly removing spoonful’s of soup each day so that woo would not get poisoned.

As time went by the two of them became a lot closer and kangho noticed a lot of things about woo, despite being a slave he was literate and smart, if it was not for his weak body and not having spiritual energy, he would have made woo one of his guards. As much as woo wanted to stay by his side he knew that would mean triggering his lost memories, pain and he didn’t want any of that, he asked the grandmaster to take him in because he wanted him to live happily. This made woo request to leave the estate as soon as possible, kangho had been looking for a place where he could send woo to if he wanted to leave, but he didn’t think he would do it soon. The 1st disciple who had always disliked kangho, had found out that this maid was not an ordinary person and upon further inspection, he noticed that he looked like the other clan’s grandmaster woohyo ( which is woo's actual name). While the clan had sent some guards to search for the grandmaster for 10 years, his suspicion was confirmed when he plotted a scheme to lure out woo and confronted him. He wanted woo to join him in his plans and promised to restore his honor and title. Woo didn’t want any of the sort and still played the role of a servant to the end despite being confronted. Later on woo decided he wanted to stay after all to help kangho overcome all of his enemies.

That’s where I’ll leave it for now since the manhwa is still ongoing at this point. I really like it, it’s not like the average master and disciple plotline so it was really interesting when I first read it. Of course the art is what made the tory so appealing in the first place so props to the artist for bringing this story to life. If you get the chance to read it please do, you can read this on ridibooks in Korean and in Chinese elsewhere, not sure about that one. I hope this will be available on other platforms soon because it is very underrated but deserves a lot of attention.

I’m just going to say this, the only reason I read this was because the main guy looked a lot like sunghyeon (secret relationships) and that was the only thing that drew me in. But I’m going to be honest, it was really underwhelming, I mean if you like shoujou manga and like watching k-dramas then sure this will be up your alley. The only difference is the girl is a professional athlete or something and she can fight, which is all good but she comes off as quite a selfish person and I don’t enjoy that type of personality, it makes her character seems really one dimensional, to make her more interesting they had to give her premonition powers .lol. I would kind of compare it to something like horimiya, where the girl discovers something about a certain student that she can’t help herself but be drawn to him and there was nothing that indicated that chemistry, so it was just weird to me how she just started to be interested in him out of nowhere…literally chapter 1, he’s done nothing but call her a pervert and she’s was like…I’m in…it happened so sudden and there was no reason for it.

Yeah so I’m probably going to drop this, I’m not really into reading generic shoujou webtoons or manga for that matter, years of reading the same thing will do that to you.lol. Though if I have to give this manhwa credit to one scene I thought was good

Was when the two characters meet again later in life and she came to borrow money from him, just to see him again and he told her to leave cause it’s dangerous and gave her money for a cab fare, but took said money and placed it in the back pocket of her jeans…lol. It was kinda hot, not going to lie. But other than that…nothing seems to stand out, the guy is also nothing special I just thought the way he looked like sunghyeon would be a good way to be interested in shoujou manga again…but nope.

ANIME? Haven’t watched a single anime in a while…lol.

My thoughts on Sex Education, season 3.

⚠️⚠️⚠️SPOILERS⚠️⚠️⚠️

First of all, please try to remember that this is just my opinion. I'm nobody to judge whether the season was good or bad and I don't mean to hurt anyone.

With that being said, I'd like to begin by admitting that I liked these 8 episodes overall... but there were so many things that felt wrong to me.

I loved Jean's journey during her pregnancy and the way she tried to take care of everyone at the same time (although I kind of disliked Jakob for some things he said).

I loved Aimee and her desire to heal after the assault. The way she really wants to make her voice be heard was heartwarming and inspiring to me. Plus, her friendship with Maeve is one of the most beautiful I've ever watched (about this, I'll say something later on).

I loved Viv and her ambition that slowly became less important than her peers and their rights. She really wanted them to be happy in the end. I think that she didn't really understand how bad things with Hope were until the trip to France. And she redeemed herself in a great way.

I loved Lily and her journey towards acceptance of herself, even when others thought she was weird and silly. It was empowering seeing her so confident in the end.

I loved Adam's growth. It taught that even the most simple of passions can turn into something meaningful and that, no matter how bad you are, you can change.

Above all, I loved Maeve finally getting the chance to do something amazing for herself for once.

All of these things were wonderful, truly. But so many others I didn't like and I couldn't really understand as narrative choices.

Let me begin with the one I found the most annoying: Isaac's fake redemption arc. I know what you might say: "Of course you hate it! You ship Maeve and Otis!". Well, yes, I do. But it's not all about that. I might be exaggerating... but Isaac deleting Otis' message was beyond disrespectful to me. If you remember, at the beginning of the second season, Isaac was really mean to Maeve... but he had the opportunity to redeem himself. He had the chance to say he was sorry and to be a better person to her, even though he had been around for so little time. However, when it came to Otis to have the same opportunity, he decided that he wasn't worth it. Isaac, who didn't really know Otis, took away from him the chance to at least say that he was truly sorry for being such an ass to Maeve. But, what feels even worse to me is that he took away even Maeve's possibility to decide. We don't know how it would have gone, if Maeve had listen to what Otis had to say. Maybe she would have forgiven him. Maybe she would have still chosen Isaac, because Otis hurt her too much. Who knows what might have been? No one. And why? Because Isaac decided for everyone. And I don't care if he thought he was protecting Maeve or if he was angry. It. Was. Not. His. Choice. To. Make.

Also, I didn't really understand why Maeve wasn't as mad as I was with him. Sure, she stopped talking to him for a couple of days. But the moment she started to speak with him again, they hooked up. Too fast, too soon, in my opinion. He apologised? Sure. But so did Otis. And he didn't get to be so easily forgiven.

But let's move to the another point I have a lot to say about: Otis and Ruby. I really liked them together. I found them cute and funny. But still... Ruby struggled for real to accept Otis for who he is. And Otis acted the way she wanted to keep her close. For example, he shaved off his moustache for her. Now, most of the fandom hated that moustache... but again, Otis seemed to care a great deal for it. He kept repeating that he spent months growing it. But Ruby didn't like it. And he sacrificed something he was proud of for her. But okay, a lot of people would do something like that for their loved ones. But then he had to dress like her friends to fit in. To be fair, Ruby gave up that idea pretty soon... but she just reacted to Otis refusing to do it. If I had to make a comparison between her and another love interest (not Maeve, 'cause I'd be biased), I'd choose Ola, of course. She was putting pressure on him in other ways, but she never wanted him to be any different than who he was. Love, after all, means acceptance. And perhaps Ruby loved Otis for he saw the hardest part of her life, without judging her. I wish it could have been the same for him.

About this, I've noticed many people being disappointed in Otis not saying he loved her too, because it means that he was just using her. Well... no? I mean, he was the first one to admit that, if she was willing to give him more time, he might have learned to love her. Should he have made it clear to her earlier in the relationship? Sure! Can we condemn him for not feeling the same? Absolutely not! Feelings can't be forced. And I'm also sure that he thought he was done for good with Maeve. He suffocated the love he had for her so much that the clinic made him sick and that he admitted his feelings only when pressured by Maeve herself.

In conclusion, I think that Otis and Ruby might have had a wonderful friendship, if they were only given the chance. They have that kind of chemistry.

Talking about people who are better off as friends: in my opinion, that's all Maeve and Aimee will ever be. I honestly can't see anything romantic in them. The purity of their friendship means so much to me and it's, at least for me, so different from the "Friends who are more than friends" energy. We're so lucky to have such wonderful actresses to play these characters... and what I see in their gestures and glances tells me of a great friendship. They're so different from Emily and Sue in Dickinson (they're supposed to be just friends, but they're clearly not) or even Judy and Jen in Dead To Me (another pair of friends that can be ambiguous with each other).

Moving to another couple, whose development I didn't understand: Adam and Eric. I'm not a great fan of their relationship. I like them both as individuals. But the bully-victim dynamic they used to have wasn't the best one to start a relationship with. I could see the appeal though. So much that, I was truly happy for them, when they said their first I love you's. And every step Adam made in the right direction made me smile, since that it took him a long time to grow up. Eric seemed happy with him too. Until he went to Nigeria. I sincerely loved the whole trip... but something felt wrong in him founding what he truly wanted there, where he couldn't even tell his family he had a boyfriend. The scene in the taxi gave me chills. I felt the risk he was taking by going with a stranger to a gay club. A stranger that he kissed almost out of nowhere (whether it was the heat of the moment or Adam not replying to him, I'm not sure). It's the second time he cheats on his boyfriend. And I think Eric deserves far better as a character.

My question about this whole drama is: "How come Eric found out that he wanted to be free in Nigeria and not in England?". If it's true that going to the club made him realise he wanted to be among people like him, it makes the whole situation even more absurd. Because there are plenty of gay bars and clubs in England. Why not go to one of them? My theory is that they wanted to build a good romance with Adam, then build tension between them and in us and end the whole thing with their breakup (probably to make Adam fall in love with Rahim).

I swear I'm almost done. I want to discuss one last topic with you all.

Maeve going to America like that felt so rushed. It's probably another strategy to make us want to see more of the show. And it surely worked. But still, it has, at least for how they developed it, nothing to do with Maeve maturing. The idea itself was amazing. I loved her getting the opportunity of a lifetime. But she literally decides to go the evening before (which is not even realistic. In real life, you have a deadline until which you can pay to go wherever you want. If you don't, your place is given to someone else), after getting the money from her mother. Now, where does that money come from? She might as well have stolen it, since she didn't have it before. In my opinion, this part of the story could have gone differently with little effort and the same outcome. How? Well, since that basically everyone thought she deserved to go to America, why couldn't have her classmates and teachers organised a fundraiser? Even in secret, so that she couldn't get angry for their "charity". It would have been so much better and so wholesome to see everyone in that school give a little sum for her, even to thank her for the help they got from the clinic.

Anyway, I'm so sorry for talking so much, but this season didn't go as expected and I truly needed to vent :P.

end scene - finn wolfhard x reader

The reader is filming a deleted scene which sparks trauma. Warnings: SUPER ANGSTY LIKE SERIOUSLY, crying finn, mentions of death, mentions of sex (at the end), abuse, mentions of alcohol and swearing. And also long paragraphs. Lower case.

finn was the only person who knew about your trauma and cared - your mother had a boyfriend and moved on.

the car crash was your burden and catalyst to your inconsistent episodes which was why, every time you rehearsed the scene with him, finn made sure you were okay and that you knew he didn't mean it.

millie was good at being dead. she'd lay there, under the rubble, not moving a limb - she looked so lifeless like that that you were positive a passer-by would rush over to help her.

except there were no passer-bys, just you, your boyfriend, cast and crew and the CGI.

but yet it still looked so real - and it reminded you of her that much - of the car, the crash, the rubble, debris, anger that left your father's mouth afterwards, the deafening silence of your mother who stood and watched in the hospital...

mentally, you forced yourself to shake it off. the memory had obviously tuned the other cast members out.

"it wasn't her fault!" noah screeched - finn appeared to be approaching you, a look of mad and sadness in his eyes (which did not seem to be for you but hurt you anyway) kindling dangerously.

"we can still save her," he turned back from you to her "dead" body, "we can still save her! nancy! nancy. do you know cpr? does anyone know cpr? steve? johnathan? even you, billy?"

"even you?!" sadie shrieked. darce shot her a look and shook his head as if billy was telling her to pick her battles.

"anyone?" finn talked over her. "please. someone help me! she can't die here. she won't die here! i won't let it!" his words and voice were exactly the same as every other time you rehearsed it alone.

you continued to stare at the nothingness that wavered around him as natalia and everyone else remained quiet.

finn darted to you with the corner of his eye before recovering again, "we can still save her!" the rest of the cast waited.

'we can't', mouthed charlie, you'd forgotten your line by a beat. SHIT. finn frowned - something was fishy.

"we can't," you said softly, quickly. finn exhaled invisibly and silently. "f - mike. mike, el said - she told me - she said she was sorry and she said she - "

he cut you off just like every other time, "what good," he began, breathing through his nose, "is an apology," silence, the rest of the cast who were watching liked it, "if she's dead?! please! someone help me!"

no one helped him.

"come on," he begged the world, "come on. el. el. wake up. wake up. wake up!" he shook millie's body as if shaking a dead person would wake them up, kind of like how your father shook your sister in the hospital bed even though the nurse said that shaking her would make things worse.

"el," he choked back, "no. el. el." the fake tears hurt you more than they normally would have.

finn was your boyfriend and you could normally tell the difference between his fake and real emotions and for some reason you couldn't today.

after finn finished crying, he stroked her lifeless hair just like every other time and just like the time your father stroked your sister's before he turned to you.

"YOU were supposed to save HER," he spat the words viciously like every other time, eyes flicking over you with assurance. "but SHE saved YOU! she wasn't supposed to save YOU! you were supposed to die, you were supposed to die! the mindflayer was supposed to get YOU but it got HER! you're not even sorry! none of you are sorry! because if you were sorry, YOU would be DEAD and SHE would be ALIVE!"

you couldn't tell at the time but the words hurt him, too.

"it doesn't work like that!" noah screeched. "she was here first, anyways! she's my sister! eleven understood that so why can't you, mike?!"

"i told you to come up with another plan," he hissed at you, ignoring noah, "but you didn't! you let her die! you let her die, belle! you're a bitch and you let her die!" he yelled over noah.

"i'm sorry," you whispered, to which gaten and the rest of the cast wore a look of amazement - you hated improvising.

finn frowned slightly before going along.

"you're not. fucking. sorry. do you know why?" he waited.

"mike," natalia cut in.

"BECAUSE YOU WOULD BE DEAD! YOU STUPID BITCH, YOU WOULD BE DEAD! BUT YOU KILLED HER!"

"no, she didn't! don't call her that!"

that was the first - and last - time finn had ever called you that or yelled at you. you froze.

"i'm sorry," your lip shook - you didn't have a line just then but the crew liked it. "i'm sorry, i'm sorry,"

"it's your fault she's dead, y/n! you stupid bitch! you killed her! you killed your sister! do you know why you killed her? because you're a mistake! and a murderer! you fucking killed her, you stupid bitch! you can't do anything right, can you, you fucking brat? i saw you yelling at her! 'hurry up, izzy, i'm going to be late!' i told you not to go, didn't i? i told you she can't fucking drive in the fucking rain because she's bipolar and fucking crazy! but you're a brat, y/n, and it's going to be the end of you and everyone around you and even that finn boy, i don't give a fuck how much fucking money he has because you're going to blow him up too like the bomb you are! i don't give a shit how many fucking fans you have, do you hear me? because you. blew. her. UP!"

the nurses stared.

one turned to your mother in her stupid ninties pink dress and pearl necklace as if to say, 'aren't you going to do anything?' but she didn't, she pretended as if everything was fine.

"i'm sorry," you bit back the tears. "i'm sorry,"

"you aren't sorry! because she's dead! you aren't sorry! you're just a bomb!"

you bit your cheek harshly - no one else besides finn noticed.

"i'm sorry," your voice shook, "i'm sorry i killed her i'm sorry i'm sorry please don't - please i'm sorry,"

the crew started giving you looks - knock it off, it was starting to get weird and they didn't want the audience to hate your character.

but you couldn't help it. you didn't want him to hit you and you didn't want the people in the hospital to stare.

but you weren't in the hospital, you were on set, and he wasn't with you, it was finn, but same difference.

because maybe if you said sorry more maybe finn wouldn't unlove you like he did, maybe finn wouldn't hit you like he did.

"i'm sorry it's my fault i'm sorry i'm sorry,"

finn's breath hitched and his adam's apple moved before something washed over him - recognition.

you see, the endless trails of apologies had happened once at his house at night.

"wait!"

gaten threw his arms up at the outburst and the rest of the cast looked dissappointed. this scene was such a good trope for the love triangle between mike el and belle.

"wait - just - just cut. please. she's not acting, i swear this has happened before and i can help her please," he was begging now and the crew sighed and grumbled - everyone was human.

"alright, that's a wrap, we'll film again in a half," they began to leave.

"i'm sorry finn i'm sorry i kill - "

"baby, stop," he put his hands on your shoulders but you just shook your head and kept saying the words anyways, "baby! you don't have to apologise for anything, baby, you didn't kill anyone,"

"but i did kill her, finn!" you sobbed, "i killed her. "i killed my sister because i'm a stupid bitch and a brat who made her sister drive her to her friend's house in the rain," you bit your cheek until there was blood,

"i'm a mistake, finn, i'm sorry i'm a fucking bitch, and i'm sorry i killed them. just please, please don't unlove me, please, everyone who's loved me's unloved me, please i swear i'll do litera - "

"baby, what?" he looked like a puppy who'd just been told off, "why would i unlove you?"

"because i can't do anything right," you shook your head, "and you have to unlove me even though i don't want you to, finn, because i'm a mistake and i'm a fucking bomb, and a bitch. but please, please, i'm sorry, i can't - i can't lose someone else - "

"you're never going to lose me, baby," he whispered. he was shaking, "and you're not a bomb. oh, fuck, the last thing you are is a bomb, y/n. this isn't bullshit. i love you too much to give you bullshit. if he told you that, let me tell you this: you. are. not. a. bomb, baby. you're mine, the farthest thing you are is a bomb, you're a band aid, and a lifeline. you're never going to lose me, i promise i promise."

"but finn," you said, "don't you get it? i'm not a band aid or a lifeline, i'm a bomb. i will blow you up if you don't leave me before you can even though i don't want you to leave me because you're the only person- "

"and i'll keep being the only person," he talked over you and it frustrated you to even more tears, "i don't care if you blow me up. heck, you blew me away the first time. besides, so what if you're a murderer (which you aren't baby it was a fucking accident and he needs to get that through his fucking skull)? i hate myself for bringing up the stupid movie you love y/n but i don't give two shits what he says you've done because a) i know he's a drunk bastard and b) i will always love you baby more than rose loves leo baby i'll always come back to you, always, i'm going to marry you when my parents let me get married and i'm going to always come back to you even if you yell at me to get out because you're my fucking bomb, do you hear me? you're mine and you're a bomb. so what? you're a good bomb."

"please don't unlove me,"

"baby i'll never unlove you ever ever,"

"promise?"

"yes baby i promise y/n i promise just please tell me you're okay and tell me when you're not okay because it kills me baby it kills me so much,"

"okay finn," you mumbled; you didn't want him to cry anymore, "i promise. i'm sorry for ruining the scene," you looked down at your hands.

"hey," he said firmly, lifting your chin up so you were forced to look at him, "scenes can be re-filmed but i'm going to ask them to film a different one okay? but for now please just tell me you're okay baby,"

"i'm okay finn," you sighed. "sorry you had to put up with that and sorry i made you feel shit,"

"you know you make me feel lots of things n/n," he whispered, "and shit is one of them. and i wouldn't have anyone else make me feel anything else, 'cause i love you. even if you blow me up i love you okay? even if you crash me i'll still love you from hell 'cause we all know that's where i'm going..."

"are you talking about the other night?" you looked up, "because the feeling was totally mutual finn we both wanted it you know that don't be a dick,"

"there she is. also, yeah, that night and that time noah walked in on us jesus," he smiled and hugged your neck, "okay, okay, i love you though y/n. god you have no idea how much i love you..."

"i think i do," you replied softly and he smiled into you.

Seven Days left~ Give us 7 favorite Shameless moments

One day late – whoops! Sorry about that, sweet nonnie; this was the most delightful ask and I was very stoked to get it. ❤️❤️❤️

Disclaimer: I misread the question because I’m a dumbass and went for Gallavich moments. My bad. :o These are seven of my favourite moments, by the way: I just can't decisively pick my ultimate top seven. Also put them down in chronological order rather than in order of how fond of them I am, because it'd would've been too hard to do otherwise.

4x08: “You coming back?” This scene is quite uncomfortable, what with Ian's demand for blowjobs and Mickey's obvious (though temporary) discomfort, but I think that's what has me returning to it again and again (and what has had me writing one very long meta and a fic about it). It represents a shift in their dynamic, with Ian claiming some power in the relationship for himself, and even though it is uncomfortable, it's fascinating to see – and needed to happen for them to work in the long term (even if it maybe didn't need to happen like that – but then again, it's just so in character for both of them, however messed up?). The look Lip and Mickey exchanges after Ian's “relationship issues” never fails to get to me either, and I think it's important to note that Lip makes sure that Ian is okay with the situation and then he leaves them to it; he doesn't try to interfere or dissuade Ian. I keep wondering what that means to Mickey, having Lip – who's certainly not a friend at that point – know about him, and about him and Ian, and not really caring beyond making sure his baby brother is okay? I kind of think that maybe Lip and Mandy both showing Mickey that they're aware of the situation but not making a big deal out of it is really fucking important – people can know he's gay without it having to be a thing and without the world ending. Terry is a horrible outlier.

4x11: “Just wondering if we're a couple or not.” Maybe it's the mutual manhandling, maybe it's them trying to negotiate and sort out the current dynamics of their relationship. There's so much tension and so many layers here, history lingering, even as they're both fond and playful: lots to unpack. Damngoodcoffee once noted that Ian almost looks scared when Mickey pushes him to the bed, and I haven't been able to unsee that since, or to forget that the last time Ian pushed Mickey to verbalize the truth of their relationship Mickey kicked him in the face. I also love love love the lead up with Carl and Ian, “do you love Mickey?” – “I like how he smells.” Please take note of Mickey washing his hands: the dirtiest white boy in American is an example to penis pee:ers everywhere.

5x08: “Sorry I'm late.” Ian's surprise, and the look of hesitant wonder as Mickey shows up and moves to lie down next to him, like he can't quite believe that Mickey is really there, that he actually came. Mickey's quiet apology, no excuses or explanations about how he needed some time to deal (which, you know, it's very fair for him to need); he's there for Ian now, putting his own fears and pain and needs to the side to be what (he thinks) Ian needs him to be. That admittedly doesn't work out great for either of them in the end, but still, in this moment, it is what they both desperately crave: to just have each other and find shelter in the other's arms. Ungh. That gentle kiss to Ian's hair, how Ian finally relaxes and reaches up to grasp Mickey's wrist, holding on. It breaks my heart and soothes me, all at the same time.

10x07: Domestic bitches. Probably the scene I've tag ranted about the most, because I. Love. It. To. Pieces. Ian's so glad to be back in a place where he feels at home and can be useful by doing important stuff like picking up shampoo and shit for Mickey (in prison, I think he was acutely aware of them being on Mickey's turf and him feeling a bit not comfortable with being the one in need of protection?) and he's so damned happy that he gets to be here with Mickey. Gets to help him out and playfully slap his ass and kiss his cheek and squeeze his titty and just love him and be with him. And Mickey, being completely unconcerned about this display in front of Sandy; in fact he seems to adore being so obviously claimed and loved and wanted, and that's such a huge shift from the boy who was once terrified by the idea of letting Ian kiss him even in private. Argh. Just. Them being domestic bitches and loving it – and each other – so fucking much. They're giddy with it here and it makes my heart swell.

10x10: “When you know, you know. Right?” I have an absurd weakness for Ian being petty, and Mickey really had it coming here, so. You know. Allow me an evil chuckle. The Byron of it all is an unwelcome distraction (and Mickey gritting out “the love of my life” makes me cringe so hard every single time), but then I look at the absolute glee in Ian's eyes when he realizes that Mickey is going to a hipster concert and yeah, this is Kee's shriek of delight. Mickey looks very good in his shirt and with the hair and the cigarette, and that's always an easy sell with me. (He also looks so uncomfortable with Ian finding out about the concert but, again, he kind of had it coming.) Aah. Ian's certainly not the only petty character on the show, but it just looks better on him than on anyone else. He's got it down.

11x10: “Hit my husband again, I'll fucking kill you.” Mickey isn't even in this scene, and still. I didn't expect Ian to take such a firm stance on this (considering that Lip is his brother and Mickey was not innocent in the fight) but maybe that's why I love it so much? I swear, the jolt I felt when hearing it for the first time, it nigh on knocked me over. “My husband” Ian says, making a point of emphasising the nature of his relationship to Mickey; the Gallaghers generally strike me as having a general expectation of putting birth family above partners when push comes to shove. Fiona certainly did for a long while, and though Lip's kind of screwing his siblings over to create the life he wants with Tami and Fred this season, I think he still sees the sibling group as Ian's primary unit, and Ian wants to remind him that this isn't the whole truth anymore. Also, protective!Ian is glorious. (I love me some brothers on the porch, so even without this line, this is a great scene. But with it – holy mother of God, I've been slain. I'd feel embarrassed about the number of times I played it on repeat the next day, but I'm too old for that shit.)

11x11: Intro Speaking of protective!Ian... I'm sorry, there's just no arguing with the aftercare vibes and I don't even know how to process that properly. Mickey's a little out of it, seems like, since he's rather slow to respond to the intrusion and displays none of his usual intiative and agression, whereas Ian is very quick to shift from gazing lovingly at Mickey to chasing us out with a determination and anger usually reserved for Frank. I mean, how else would you explain it? (And okay, it's an intro and breaking the fourth wall, so speculating about when it happens in canon is of course foolish, but I'm just saying that they're in their new flat with very little furniture still so it has to happen around the time of the last episode but I very much doubt they played around like this when everything was so weird between them so probably not between 11x10 and 11x11, but say they got back to their place after their reconciliation on their old bed and just kept on reaffirming their bond in all possible ways? Yes? Yes.)

Special mention: 10x06 Deleted Bathroom Scene. Mickey is looking fine as fuck – please, do wear black tanks more often, I am begging you, Mick – and his eyebrow game is in excellent shape, and then we have Ian seeing to his wounds (be still my heart) and pulling at his hair when Mickey's just a shade too bratty and Mickey's little look of 'okay sure I had that coming' and I'm sorry, but I am dead now. Deceased. Only two things detract from this otherwise perfect scene: Ian's titties tattoo on prominent and unfortunate display, and the confusion about whether or not Mickey didn't even learn the simplest Spanish words during his stint in Mexico.

So, that's me. I could just as easily have picked seven completely different moment, but I do love all of these very much.

I have a feeling this variant is gonna be the female, blonde (I’m so sorry, at the moment I forget her name) in those pictures we saw. Alright guys. Here we go. Rewatch time. I have too many feelings to be contained.

hello!! i just wanted to ask- i wanna do an ouat rewatch bc CAPTAIN SWANN but its pretty long and i honestly dont care for the other characters/how badly the overall writing was handled.. which are your favourite captain swan eps? anything them centered and i think ill just skip around to rewatch their romance as they did invent romance 😭😭 ty in advance <3

they absolutely did invent romance, you are right about that and i love them so much

UHMMMM as far as my favorite CS eps, here’s a roadmap of what I personally consider key eps in their journey (some of this is from memory but I haven’t done a full rewatch in a while so i’m going through the episode list as a refresher)

2x06: Tallahassee--this is a must-watch ep for any CS fan, and I really think this is the episode that sparked the fire that CS would become as a fandom. It has everything--flirtatious banter, all kinds of tension, deliberate parallels drawn between Emma and Killian’s pasts, as well as their first meeting being intercut with her relationship with Neal (which serves, especially in hindsight, to highlight just how sketchy that relationship was, and why she couldn’t bring herself to trust Killian--because the last time she felt this way about anyone, it ended horribly)

2x08 and 2x09: Into the Deep and Queen of Hearts--these episodes cover the race to the portal between Emma&co and Hook/Cora and while they don’t do a ton for CS as a relationship since they’re still enemies at this point, it lays great foundation for their future relationship development. Plus, sexy swordfight, Hook going out of his way to save Aurora’s heart--he may be a pirate, but he has standards ok--and Emma realizing Cora can’t remove her heart without her permission? Poetic Cinema

2x11: The Outsider--more of a Killian-centric episode, it shows a lot of Killian at his worst but it’s necessary for his overall character arc and I genuinely love looking back and seeing just how far he managed to come, to the point of eventually even letting go of his (very understandable) grudge against Rumplestiltskin.

2x12: In the Name of the Brother--am I including this purely for Emma&Hook banter in the hospital, and Killian saying ‘hey beautiful’ when he’s lying on the road because he just got hit by a fucking car? You bet I am. Also, go to youtube and look up ‘ouat season two deleted scene jello’, because it’s beautiful and there was a tremendous outcry in the fandom when we realized it had been cut from the episode lmao (It’s also the episode that made me start shipping Frankenwolf, which I’m still sad never went anywhere, but they had a lot of potential and great chemistry.)

2x22: And Straight On Till Morning--A few of the episodes in between have some fun minor interactions and flashbacks (and I always approve of episodes where Killian gets one up on Rumple, so 2x15 is fun for me if i ignore all the Neal bits) but the finale is where we finally get a glimpse of who Killian could be beyond his need for revenge. He didn’t have to come back, he didn’t have to bring back the bean and help the town--but he did.

Season 3a: there’s a lot of really good stuff here for Hook and Emma that is interwoven between the A plots of other episodes. I think, as far as half-season arcs go, it’s one of the best (and everything after 4a bombed hard, but I digress) But there are a few episodes that stand out if you don’t want to watch the whole season. (I recommend starting with the premier though, it was a really solid season starter overall.)

3x05: Good Form--this is the culmination of David’s poisoned-by-dreamshade arc, and is also Peak Captain Charming Bromance. Hook not only keeping David’s secret, but doing everything he can to help save him??? Poetic cinema. It also provides some crucial Killian backstory, showing how he lost his brother to the very same dreamshade. Plus, the character development--Pan offers Killian a chance to escape the island with Emma if he kills David, and instead, he saves him, refusing the deal and damn the consequences. Also also? The first CS kiss which drove the fandom WILD.

3X06: Ariel--not only to I love OUaT’s take on Ariel, but this episode has the infamous Echo Cave scene, which involves a lot of feelsy confessions and Killian being the one to tell everyone that Neal is alive and helping Emma save him despite his own growing feelings for her.....IT’S JUST A LOT AND I LOVE IT.

3x07: Dark Hallow--oh man, I’d forgotten about this episode, but it has Killian and Neal fighting over Emma, which may sound eye-roll worthy, but Emma is allowed to tear them a new one about it and it’s one of the few times she’s allowed to actually???? put her own feelings first so I have to include it here on spec

3x11 and 3x12: Going Home and New York City Serenade--these mark the end of 3a and start of 3b respectively, and it has some amazing shit like Killian vowing never to forget Emma and Emma smiling as she replies, “Good.” And then she and Henry are in New York with their memories completely altered, but Killian shows up because Storybrooke is back and in jeopardy, and he helps Emma get back to her family and her home and, much later, Emma finds out he sold the Jolly Roger to be able to do it and it’s just. It’s beautiful ok.

3x17: The Jolly Roger--there’s honestly not a whole lot in the back half of season 3 (until the CS movie) but of course anything named for Hook is a must-watch, and this is where we get the iconic line I swear on Emma Swan--which is Killian saying he’s in love with her before he even realizes it. We also find out just what he did to Ariel, and his attempts to make amends are what lead to Zelena being able to curse him, so it’s great from a character perspective as well.

The next four episodes round out the end of the season, and there’s a lot of great stuff in them--Hook refusing to get Emma to kiss him, but Emma feeling like she can’t trust him because he didn’t tell her about the curse to begin with, and then kissing him anyway to save his life regardless of the consequences.... but the only ones that are absolutely necessary are the final two episodes.

They are colloquially termed ‘The Captain Swan Movie’ for a reason, after all.

Killian and Emma essentially have an entire Time Travel adventure all to themselves, where they accidentally ruin her parents first meeting and have to fix it so that she’ll even be born, Emma finally getting into the storybook, the pair of them dancing at a ball, Killian rushing to save Emma only for her to get out of the cell herself, because “The only one who saves me is me.” Killian saying “I would go to the ends of the world for her... or time.” Finally fixing the timeline and making it back to Storybrooke and Killian feeling like he doesn’t deserve a place at the table so he doesn’t go inside, but Emma comes out to him anyway and finds out he gave up the Jolly Roger for her, the true start to their relationship...... IM CRYING JUST THINKING ABOUT IT I’M SORRY.

I personally really enjoyed 4a, the Frozen arc was one of the last good half-season arcs of the show, but a lot of people disliked it so it’s really up to interpretation. I don’t have as many Intense Opinions on this season (except hating almost everything about 4b and the queens of darkness arc), but I will say the episodes with good Killian/CS moments are 4x02 (Emma nearly freezes to death, Killian is desperate to save her, Captain Charming teamwork, my heart hurts), 4x04 (Emma asks Killian out on a real date, he tries to get his real hand back from Gold, things go massively awry and he winds up back under Gold’s thumb), 4x08 (Killian tries to save Emma from Gold’s plans), 4x11 (the 4a finale is just great in general), and then..... it cannot be overstated how much I hate season 4b, but 4x15 is the Killian-centric ep where his past with Ursula is revealed and he makes amends to her in order to get her to leave the QoD alliance and it’s great character stuff for him, and then there’s the season 4 finale.

Both parts are worth watching, if only because Deckhand Coward Hook still being a braver, more heroic man than ‘Hero Rumplestiltskin’ warms the very cockles of my heart, and of course the second part of the finale has him helping Henry to save Emma and it’s beautiful and also Emma watches him die for her and it is angsty as FUCK but gods I love it. Here’s where it gets tricky, though--my recommendation is, turn the episode off right after Emma finds Killian back in the present day of Storybrooke and they reunite.

Just turn off the episode there and skip right ahead to the s6 musical episode (Emma and Killian’s wedding ep) and pretend they got married and none of seasons 5 or 6 ever happened. >.> (Although I will say certain parts of the Underworld arc were incredibly feelsy despite how much I overall hated the season: 5x11 (the 5a finale, Killian as the dark one STILL being a better man than rumple, we love to see it), 5x15 (I am not immune to Brothers Jones feelings ok), 5x20 (emma literally takes a True Love Test trying to find a way to save killian, you don’t get more romantic than that--also Killian telling Emma to promise she won’t put her armor back up just because she lost him again??? my HEART), 5x21 (Hook does what he can from the Underworld anyway and zeus sends him back to Emma, they really just said ‘today I will invent romance’ and then Did That)

And then, yeah, just skip to the wedding. It’s beautiful, I enjoyed the music, personally, though I know musical episodes are hit or miss with most people. And if you turn it off when the last musical number starts (after the wedding ceremony, I believe) you can pretend it was the end of the show! =DDD

.....Oh my god I just rambled for years. I HOPE YOU FIND THIS USEFUL, ANON. I 100% support a CS-centered rewatch, their episodes were consistently some of the best across the entire series, and they are truly one of my favorite romances of all time.

Detective Conan has a shot ton of Dubs - a post. This is a long post going over a lot of details of Detective Conan (which is why theres a read more as this is long)

This is full of lost media and the many odd dubs that Detective conan has, I hope you enjoy.

Fox Kids dub

This is the earliest dubbing of Detective Conan being done in 2000 and the one with the least amount of any infomation.

All we know is that it was going to be called Conan's Capers, there is a pilot which is a mash up of the first episode and the third episode which was cut down to 7 minutes with episode one being cut down to 5 minutes. All elements of murder and violence were cut or censored.

For example, in episode 1 and the scene in which Gin hits Shinichi and gives him the aptx, in this dub Gin scares shinichi by saying "boo" and Shinichi falls to the ground, the aptx is supposed to give Shinichi amnesia not kill him.

Also all of the names were changed as well:

• Shinuchi Kudo to Peter Gray

• Conan Edogawa to Conan Issac

• Ran Mouri to Rebecca Lacey

• Kogoro Mouri to Slick Lacey

The pilot 7 minute pilot is lost though was rumoured to be shown on tv once and we only know infomation due to a leak in 2000 and this article from a magazine.

The reason it didn't air was due to the cuts needed to the anime as it would cost more than just dubbing over the animation.

The Miramax / ABC Family dub

In 2002 another dub of Detective Conan was made by Miramax Television hired by Fox Family. It was made in 1997 and aired in 2002 / 2003, it aired 110 episodes or 5 seasons the name was changed slightly to Detective conan: Case Closed.

It was edited a fair bit but not as heavy as the 2000s dub. It follows the initial script though there have been alterations to make it understandable. There is some swearing though only mild. The violence, murder and threats were toned down or deleted. It was made to be more funnier though it wasn't a ghost stories dub or anything. Alcohol, smoking, drugs and nudity were given the 4kids treatment and got recoloured or removed into something tamer. The most interesting thing is that the episodes were shortened to 10 minutes , making two edited episodes fit one run time.

Names were changed again:

• Shinichi Kudo to Jimmy Kudo

• Conan Edogawa stayed the same

• Ran Mouri to Cherry

• Kogoro Mouri to Richard

• Ayumi Yoshida to Amy

• Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya to Maxwell

• Genta Kojima to George

• Ai Haibara to Anita

Most don't have a last name.

To my knowledge this is also lost media, I cant find any of the episodes for this dub. Theres a lot of trivia about the series and it seems that the voice actors had a lot of fun.

Singapore dub

In 2003 a dub was produced for the Singapore under the origional name of Detective Conan. 52 episodes were dubbed by Voiceovers Unlimited. And were dubbed by some well known Singapore dubbers like Chuck Powers who did 50% of the voices in the Singapore dub of Yu-Gi-Oh!.

Though over the years this dub has become lost, as it was only released on VCD and for a while we only had the opening and ending for this dub. Though in 2020, 22 episodes of this dub were found and restored. This can be good for people who have grown up with this dub and want to watch it again.

Funimation dub

This is the most well known dub of Detective Conan, if you've seen any dub of Detective Conan its probably this one. This dub was aired in 2004 and called Case Closed, it aired 130 episodes though they were actually 123 japanese episodes though some episodes were cut into multiple smaller episodes. They did the first six movies and did the voice acting for the only english released Detective Conan game The Mirapolis Investigation.

The names used for this dub are the same as the Case Closed manga:

• Shinichi Kudo to Jimmy Kudo

• Conan Edogawa stayed the same

• Ran Mouri to Rachel Moore

• Kogoro Mouri to Richard Moore

• Heiji Hattori to Harley Hartwell

It was aired on Adult Swim but had low ratings as well as low DVD sales, which is why there hasn't been more from this dub. Even though it was Dubbed up to season 5, though 11 episodes were missing from the dvd, these missing episodes include the introduction of Ai Haibara.

The Animax / Philippines dub

This one I nearly missed due to the lack of information on this one. There are two dubs for the philippines one in english and one in Filipino. I'm only talking about the English Dub as if I get into other language dubs then I'll be here all day.

This dub was done by Animax Asia in 2006 and only 52 episodes were shown. This dub uses the character's origional names and the original title Detective Conan. I can't find much infonation on this dub, I just find infomation on the Filipino dub.

Bang Zoom! Dub

This is the most recent dub of detective conan, currently they have dubbed the 22nd movie Zero the Enforcer and the special Episode "one" so far. To my knowledge they are only dubbing the movies, with the Episode "One" Special being the most recent being released in 2020. The names are the same as the origional japanese one, though the title is Case Closed: One Truth Prevails.

Thank you, thank you for the tag @fanarain. I took my time with this. I swear, I got to find a tag game to share with my followers and those I follow. @dreamautonomy needs more love and activity. 😭

I will answer questions about @dreamautonomy (my main that’s not officially a main) and @defectiveconantoy (my more popular Tumblr).

1. Why did you choose your url? I came up with the name Dream Autonomy waaaaay back in 2008. At the time, I was inspired by Kazimierz Dąbrowski's theory of positive disintegration (TPD), where he explained that one must go through anxiety and psychological tension to achieve autonomy and true individuality. In my teens, I dreamt of independence and autonomy, to live on my own terms and break away from society’s rat race. I still do to this day.

For my DCMK stuff, I’ve considered the name Conanology, but someone on Twitter took it. I wanted something witty. Then, I stumbled upon that Reddit post with the counterfeit Conan and Ayumi action figures. They looked so ridiculous and badly made it’s almost a joke. The thread’s first comment: perfect as a funny username. Unfortunately, defectiveconan was already taken here, so I settled with defectiveconantoy (also nicknamed by me as DFCT - DeFective Conan Toy) instead.

2. Any side blogs? @relaxwithanime because there’s a lot of relaxing anime, and I want to showcase relaxing anime scenes. @sillydogpictures, which has no posts. I wanted to show pictures of dogs with intentionally or unintentionally silly faces. 🐶

3. How long have you been on tumblr? It’s complicated! I began lurking back in 2010 or 2011 but didn’t create an account until 2014 with the original dreamautonomy, now the defunct @olddreamautonomy. I never used it until mid or late 2020.

I made @defectiveconantoy back in October 2020 because I considered participating in the DCMK Secret Santa event. I eventually decided not to, as I was busy with school and coping with the pandemic. I didn’t need more deadlines then.

4. Do you have a queue tag? Nope! I should make one once I learn how.

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place? I planned to use @dreamautonomy as a creative blog for posting photography, graphic design, food and travel stuff, motivational stuff, and more. Never happened!

DFCT was made for Detective Conan and Magic Kaito fandom stuff, nothing else.

Stupid me made @defectiveconantoy a completely separate account, even after realizing minutes later that I could have made it a side blog. Oh well! I mostly use Tumblr for fandom stuff nowadays, so I deleted my old Dream account and made a new account as a side blog under @defectiveconantoy. Now, I no longer have to use different apps and browsers for both blogs. Life is good!

6 . Why did you choose your icon/pfp? For Dream, I chose Retsuko from Aggretsuko. That scene wonderfully represents the agony of one’s twenties: working miserable jobs, not being taken seriously, and wishing life was more fulfilling than the average adult life. There she is being “one of us” on a Sunday by lying in bed and scratching her butt. 😂

And for DFCT, how could I not post action Conan from The Fist of Blue Sapphire with the counterfeit action figure’s head replacing the original Conan’s head? 🤣

7. Why did you choose your header? For Dream, because Retsuko’s bouncing her little tail off. For DFCT, because Ran is precious in that scene, all soft and shy.

8. What's your post with the most notes? @defectiveconantoy’s set of GIFs from the Ferris Wheel scene in the Episode ONE special. And that’s my original post. I’ve reblogged even more popular stuff by others.

Here am I typing this after spending years confusing shitposts with really funny, sometimes offensive memes. I’m still confused about the meaning of a shitpost. I’m not very trend or meme savvy.

13. How often do you use tumblr each day? About 10-20 times a day, usually through my phone app.

14. Did you ever have a fight/argument with another blog once? Over ten years ago on websites that Tumblr, Twitter, etc. long replaced in popularity. Even then, I’ve usually been a lurker for most of my life and rarely engaged in arguments or debates. Whenever I did, I regret it to this day. I looked stupid (everyone did, actually). What a waste of time!

I wish I hadn’t forgotten about Detective Conan back in 2004. The DCMK Tumblr fandom is chill and AWESOME! I wonder what the fandom was like back in the 2000s.

15. How do you feel about "you need to reblog this" posts? Ehh…it depends. If it’s something most or everyone agrees with, I might reblog it. I don’t know about you, but such posts often bring the rebel in me. If you say, “REBLOG IT,” I say, “Ehh! Nope.” 😋 Anyway, life is short. I’d rather stick to fandom and humor, things that unite people and make them smile.

16. Do you like tag games? Of course! That’s how I get to know everyone. I should initiate tag games and tag all of you.

17. Do you like ask games? YES! I should start ask games as well.

Aaaanyway, I won’t name names. Some are Tumblr famous for different reasons, and that’s what matters. We all contribute different things while being under the same main fandom, ships, arcs, and adaptations aside.

19. Do you have a crush on a mutual? No! Why ruin this nice little Tumblr space for drama? It’s not worth having a crush on people you’ve never met face-to-face imo. I’m not repeating my teenage mistakes.

GREY'S ANATOMY 17x09 SPOILERS

I didn't actually write this post before yesterday's episode, but I'm trying to remember my thoughts and it doesn't hurt tro pretend. This post completely ignores everything that happens in "In My Life"

So, I hated Owen Hunt by the start of the week, but the amount of posts and comments hating on Teddy I saw made me realize the feeling of seeing your favorite character being hated on is awful and I don't want to make someone else feel like that (part of the reason why I deleted all my posts hating on him). Also, for the past week, I've realized that Owen Hunt a really good character until he does something that makes me hate him.

First of all, I'm the first to say that people shouldn't hate Teddy for doing something everyone else did in this show, so it doesn't make any sense for me to hate Owen for this too. This prompted me to try to actually list what I hate or like about him.

Skip the following list if you don't want to see Owen being criticized (I tried my best to focus on certain caracteristics and situations and not on him as a whole, so even if you like him you may agree with some things I said. All Grey's Anatomy characters have messed up sometimes, and I don't hate them for that. This was me trying to understand Owen).

I hate that he married Cristina when she was vulnerable. It didn't help Cristina, it allowed her to avoid the trauma. As someone who is in a situation similar to her, all it did for me was make the trauma worse and last longer, so I can't see it doing any good for her. Given that Owen had PTSD himself, I don't understand why he thought he should do that. He knew it was a bad idea. On that topic, I really wished he didn't quit theraphy. If he learned to deal with his own stuff, many of the events that made me dislike him would never have happened.

I hate the fact that he is pro-life and the way he treats Cristina after her abortion. The way he screams at her in front of all their friends is horrible. The fact that he also screamed at a patient who wanted an abortion also doesn't make me like him any more (I don't really remember this situation, though, so I can't use it as a reason). I know he did so because he wanted kids, but he knew Cristina didn't and I can't see why he wanted her to be the one to change while calling her selfish at the same time.

I hate the fact that he was relieved when he thought Cristina had died.

I hate his reaction to his mother getting a younger boyfriend. I understand his thoughts and I know he didn't want to hurt her, but it was mean to tell her a guy like that could never love her. I can't imagine saying something like that to someone so close to me.

I hate the way he treats Amelia sometimes. The image of her he has is completely different from reality. I don't remember much from Omelia, but I do remember he always hurt her when they argued and told her awful things. The way he handled her addiction was also really bad.

I hate the way he treated Teddy as a second thought.

I hate that he laughed at Teddy's face and called her a liar as soon as she came out (I also dislike the way Grey's handled Teddy's sexuality but anyways). Considering Owen was probably the first person to know Teddy was bi (Claire did too but Teddy never told her so it's different), it must have been horrible. If it was me in that situation, I would never talk to him again. This is the kind of thing that can end friendships in a second.

Now, let's see what I do like about Owen.

I love his relationship with Cristina before they married. His character was truly amazing in seasons 5-6. I loved seeing his adaptation to Seattle Grace (Mercy West) and his struggle with his PTSD. I really miss the times he was like that.

I love the episode "Suicide is Painless" in season 6 (it's actually my favorite GA episode, might be In My Life now though). It was focused on Hunt, but also on Teddy. I love their friendship in the early seasons so much, and I think they deserve to be on the list of friendships GA ruined by turning into couples (along with George and Izzie). I like the og love triangle though.

I love his time as chief. He was always looking for the wellbeing of his staff, and I hate that he ended up blaming himself for the crash. I loved him on the baseball episode (the way he hired Henry only for the game was hilarious). That scene of him punching a guy? Amazing. I kinda wanted him and Derek to get in a fight at some point because I wondered how it would go.

I love some parts of his relationship with Amelia. The scene he told her to use him? Amazing. They were a really great couple when they weren't bad, and I kinda want them to end up together or at least try again (Link ran away twice already and I think he will eventually run away for real). I love some of their scenes together.

Asides from the times I hate him (or when he's saying bad things about characters I love), I tend to like him. He's not bad at all.

I think divorcing Cristina was the best thing he ever did. Their relatonship got a lot better without the pressure of a future, and he never tried to paint himself as the good guy even though he was divorcing her so she could get what she deserved. I'm really glad he did that.

I ended up realizing I like Owen more than I disliked him, even if I really hate some things he did. I still don't like Towen, especially because I loved their friendship, but I think I could accept it if the situation changes, especially after he noticed how hurt she was and picked her up while everyone else ignored Teddy.

After watching 17x09

I swear I tried to like Owen. Really did. But the fact that he OUTED Teddy to Amelia makes all the hate come back in a second. Really am sorry. I hope he'll get better one day.

How often do these two things come together, right? hahaha Well I am happy I could do that for you!<3 I don’t think I talked about my tears ricochet yet though because I usually talk only about songs people send in their asks to avoid being That Bitch who rants about one thing all day long haha but let’s talk.

Everything you said is On Point. This song is such Cas POV song that it gives me actual physical pain. Because on one hand we have very obvious destiel stuff that relate to 15x03, 15x18 and 12x23 and on the other hand, if we’re willing to break the 4th wall, this is Cas @ the CW. Look:

So, obviously a callback to 15x03 as you mentioned, apart from the first line which is re: Dean’s behaviour after Cas dies (in 12x23 or in 15x18). Now let’s look at the bigger picture here:

If I’m on fire (= if I die) you’ll be made of ashes too. Look what happened when they wrote Cas off. In season 7 or in 15x19 and 15x20. How unbearably this show sucked without him.

Did I deserve all the hell you gave me - 15x03, yes, of course but also what the show put this character through. The amount of bad writing and straight up torture for so many episodes (for example in season 8 or 9x03 ugh) and then being cut off from the finale.

And I still talk to you - this is the only Dean line in this whole song because: prayers, also 8x23 finale comes to mind when the angels are falling and Dean looks at the sky and the falling stars and screams his name. And of course then a line about Dean not getting to sleep peacefully whenever Cas is gone.

first creation and most recent creation of 2020: god, i already said this but giffing really became my #1 coping mechanism this year so i have a LOT of stuff just from this year. the first one is this THE WITCHER INTRO CARDS gifset and the most recent is actually my julie’s gifset from yesterday but i’m not satisfied with it so! i’m gonna say this KLAUS AND FIVE PARALLELS gifset instead.

one of your favorite creations from 2020: oof, this is super difficult because i get attached to most of my creations, even if they don’t come out as i initially hoped. i’ll go with this five gifset BIRDS HOVER THE TRAMPLED FIELD just because it’s a perfect example of a rare occurrence aka when both my inspiration and my vision and my skills align and i manage to create something exactly how i first imagined it. and also because i think there’s not better fitting poem for this man.

a creation you’re really proud of: i have a few but maybe this ODE TO NUMBER FIVE gifset just because i had a very specific vibe i wanted to give off and i think i managed alright with the colors, texture and design choices! and then i can’t not mention this YOU WERE ALWAYS GOLD TO ME gifset just because i literally poured all my heart into it. this song and these people mean so so much to me.

a new style you tried this year and a gifset that uses it: my style really evolved at the speed of light starting july and i still can’t believe the things i learned once i just let myself try. i keep having new ideas and trying really hard not to dismiss them and see if they work out, telling myself it’s okay if they don’t! i think this ALLISON HARGREEVES gifset basically has it all: the blending, the font work, the shape play. or even this JATP + BODIES OF WATER type of style, complex blending such as this one WILLEX SUPERSTAR is slowly becoming my trademark and i’m not mad about it, i love playing around with fonts like i did in this ALEXREGGIE gifset even if i know it gets really crowded and hard to read sometimes, or even with lines and block of colors like i did here JATP BORN FOR THIS, i finally got back to play around with textures JATP SCRAPBOOK and even JATP DISCOGRAPHY i also tried my hand at creating entire new “atmospheres” playing with specific visual choices like i did in the HARGREEVES AS PARANORMAL INVESTIGATORS set.

your creation from 2020 that received the most notes: this VANYA + HER SIBLINGS LOVE gifset with 15.406 notes that i kinda hate because what’s up with that font? and the ugly coloring?! totally gonna remake this one because they deserve far better.

How did you get into Glee and Glee fandom?

My cousins forced me to watch the first episode on Netflix without telling me what it was (they told me it was a show about cheerleading) and when I realized it was glee, I said “absolutely not” but fell victim to peer pressure. One episode and I was hooked. How the mighty have fallen.

For fandom, I started out looking for “Klaine and Finchel deleted scenes” and accidentally discovered fanfiction. When I realized that literally anybody could post on fanfiction.net, i joined, made some friends, and found tumblr from there, and well... here I am, some 8 years later lmao. At this point, I’m not leaving until I’m in a nursing home.

In general, what drew you into writing (and/or creating)?

From a young age, reading and writing was always one of my favorite pastimes. I don’t think I particularly have a way with words, per se, but I’ve always been drawn to interesting stories and like to think I write them. Growing up, I always loved listening to and telling stories of all different kinds from all different sorts of people. I think that there’s a social aspect to it, on some level, and I like the storytelling aspect of writing, and seeing how others react and are affected by the one I chose to tell. I really like the idea of creating something—especially now, with the internet—that could actually have an impact, however small, on another human being, who is just as alive and real as you are.

What was it about Glee that made you decide to write fanfic for it?

Glee (and Klaine) is actually the only fandom I’ve ever written for, and I think a part of it is that it was such an integral part of my adolescence, and the first show where I quite literally could not get enough of. I inhaled behind the scenes, spoilers, songs, gifs, and I suppose the next logical step was to continue expanding this world and characters that resonated so deeply with me through the only way I really knew how—writing. I just loved it (I still do lol) so much that I needed more, more, more, content, even if I had to create it myself lol

Have you been a part of other fandoms before? Have you written fanfiction pre-glee?

I did not write anything before Glee fic, but it didn’t introduce me to Caaron Philstopherson. The ship pretty much exclusively exists in fic, but it is seriously one of my favorite pairings. Aside from one incomplete AU and a One-Shot from earlier this year, I haven’t really written for it. But I’d like to!

Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?

I have been reeeeeeally feeling some Fake Dating lately, but alas, have no actual ideas for it.

Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole?

Significant age gap (especially if one of them is underage) and student/teacher relationships. Also mpreg.

How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?

I think three??? (And always always walks a million in my head and one or two I started on and then forgot about)

Oh my god. This is my raw reaction (I’m posting in the morning) to finishing Tombstone at 3:30 am. I finished it less than a minute ago. I’m in shock. I’m still crying oh my god. Literally crying.

I did not expect to enjoy a western cowboy movie that fucking much???? But I did??? I don’t even know where to start. I’m not sure if the acting from Wyatt Earp’s actor was good or bad. I genuinely can’t tell. But I thought that Val Kilmer fucking carried that movie dear lord is he so beyond talented oh my god. He is so good in these kinds of roles (Jim Morrison) I swear I literally got goosebumps so so many times. I think he is an incredibly underrated actor & that movie is excited why. Jesus fuck he was incredible it felt so real. It was one of the best performances I’ve seen on that type of role from anyone I can’t. The acting overall was for the most part down right magnificent.

The absolute heart wrenching showing of tuberculosis too omg. Especially in lines as small as ‘forgive me if I don’t shake hands’ to his beautifully the makeup department & Val did with showing how physical the disease was. I’m not sure what else to complement besides the fact that ‘the dying man’ is such a common character but I don’t think you can really do much better at all in this case. Top marks.

& the way it was filmed & the shots were so beautiful. It was so timely & cinematic oh my god I can’t describe it. They used close up shots & far away shots both so beautifully & in such a meaningful way I wanna give the director I high five man.

Jesus even Johnny Ringo’s character was absolutely perfect. I don’t remember the actors name off the top of my head but he is absolutely brilliant as well as the rest of the cast. Including Russell who practically directed the entire thing. Jeez I think he was incredible in that role. Even Ike was a fantastic character I’m sorry but I can’t lie.

I could talk about the scene where Johnny Ringo & Doc Holliday first met forever I think. Not only did they but probably two of the best actors in the movie the same room together. But it’s probably one of the most well known scenes too. Just the belligerence & the absolute wit between the both of them, especially Holliday, is mesmerizing. I love the way he turns to his girlfriend & talks to himself over whether the fact he should hate him or not. & he ends up deciding to hate him because he reminds him of himself. Which is again brought up so fucking incredibly later on in the movie. I think it’s amazing they didn’t let that aspect of their characters fall though. I think that scene is just magnificent. The way Doc is so sly & coy with a simple shot glass. Just the way the own shots are mocking themselves as well as the characters in a way is just. God. It’s unmatched. & the way they bring back the ‘he’s drunk’ later in the movie too as such a juxtaposition is just. Shit man. It’s beyond brilliant.

The scene where they all were at a draw & then Doc just winks. & you can see the other actors face go from fear to anger. & then wyatt realizes. Good it’s just a greatly filmed & directed scene everything about it is perfect from the reactions to the shots.

Now. Here is where I might be getting a bit controversial. This movie is gay. It’s fucking gay.

It’s a love story between Earp & Holliday. I said it. From the very very beginning when they first see each other again I could tell that Holliday was pining, he was crushing. & Wyatt was too except he didn’t know it. It was in the ways he cared for his well being & if he needed anything. They both just supported each other & were such good friends throughout it all even in the small things. But the big gestures is where it gets me.

The first being the multiple times Holliday stood up & actually took a deadly fight for Earp. All whole literally dying himself. He was literally willing to do fucking anything for him he was in love idc. & the second being the scene where he is saying goodbye oh my god. & Earp gives him the fucking book ‘my friend Doc Holliday’ oh my god. That’s when I started crying. Cause it was Doc saying that if Wyatt really loved him he would have to let him go & be happy. & then he died clutching the little book his best friend gave him omg. I cried. & of course Wyatt had to fulfill his best friends last wish. That killed me.

There was even a deleted scene between Doc & his girl where she is asking him why he is leaving again. & she is like ‘it’s Wyatt, isn’t it? It’s always Wyatt’ or something to that effect. & dear god I wish that scene was included because it only further shows how close they were. Both did & his girl also went to the lengths of pushing at the fact that he could & wouldn’t mind dying from him. I just think that’s interesting. He literally would do anything for his friend & his girl knows it (as she called herself.)

But what strikes me most is both times Wyatt was walking away from Doc, thinking he would never see him again, he give him something. Like pretty important too. Idk it really got me in my feels & I’m kind of glad it was so subtextual as well as implied through the clearly more than friendly gestures. I don’t think they could have portrayed the fact that they were so sadly in love any better. In my opinion. God I cannot it’s so sad. & the fact that they stayed by each other. The. Whole. Time. Through literally everything. I can’t describe it. They deserved better but at the same time it was so perfectly heartbreaking.

The way he looked down at his feet at the end & laughs right before he died breaks my fucking heard. Because he thought he would be dying down the road or honestly anywhere else. With his boots on. With his friends. I can’t it just kills me. It’s such a small & missable detail but holy shit if you notice it it hurts like a bitch.

I just. I can’t. I really loved this movie. I didn’t expect to like it a bit. I expected to be bored. But the action sequences were amazing. Everything was beautifully filmed. The dialogue was amazing (see quotes below) & just. Overall it was a great movie. I can see why it’s so a-claimed. I understand Dean Winchester so naturally I have to watch the tombstone supernatural episode again. Ah.

I strongly suggest the movie. Obviously with consideration of heavy gun violence & death. But yea it was incredible. Val Kilmer is god I’m pretty sure. I will most definitely be watching this again & sobbing.

But lastly y’all when they were playing cards on his death bed & Doc was like ‘I don’t wanna play anymore’. Yeah. That broke my heart. That scene is 10x more sad imo than Jack’s death in titanic.

& just the fact that his very very last moments alive were spent thinking about his friends future just shows how much they cared for each other. My heart hurts. Such a beautiful portrayal.

& yes I’m going on again about Val’s acting in this because he deserved a fucking Oscar. God. His sophisticated sarcastic & overall ugh everything of the role was absolutely perfection. It’s most definitely my favorite performance by him & maybe actually one of my top ever performances. He is so talented I cannot stress this enough.
