listen i know that the star rail girls suffer from "same character design" but i got mildly obsessed with a bit of ruan mei's design because of one particular detail and that is:

it's this particular bit where the DNA strands are joined together by the plum blossom she's named after.

in order for DNA to be replicated, it has to be unwound by a protein called helicase which then allows for the reading of the DNA to create the new strands. I felt like it was fitting that like the plum blossom unraveling the DNA in her design, she's also trying to unravel the truths of the world and get to its essence.

My body is so good at asking for what it needs and I am so good at listening and understanding and obeying. Was out on my run just now and felt a particular kind of emptiness and need. "SUGAR," my body said, "SUGAR." Fortunately was just a neighborhood run, so I swung by home, ate a rice krispie treat and a packet of fruit snacks, and went back out to finish my run, the rest of which felt much better.

#tomorrow is my first 20-miler of this training block and I am going to do my best to eat every two miles #shooting for 300 calories an hour and if it gives me GI distress... that's good practice #but I WILL NOT bonk and I will be set up for good recovery #I've also been drinking protein shakes almost daily bc I was not getting enough protein #and they are kind of gross but I do notice that I'm not getting as sore from workouts #and am bouncing back faster #calorie mention

the only meats i buy from the grocery store nowadays are cold cuts from a brand that's certified humane but this week i got a little bit of pork for the cats (as a treat) and i got sooo sooooo sad thinking about how smart pigs are and how cruel the meat industry is. and although i don't think there's anything wrong with eating meat from animals that have been humanely raised it dawned on me like a brick to the face that becoming vegetarian is inevitable

#the only barrier i have to overcome is i am such a picky eater i literally don't like enough vegetarian proteins to survive. gotta buff up #my food options first :| and obviously the cats will still eat meat i'll just find a local humane source #alternatively i'd be ok with eating meat that i raise + slaughter myself because that would feel like i've been close enough to the death #process to earn it. does that make sense. i don't think it's fair to eat meat while getting to be sheltered from what it once was #like if you can't stomach killing and gutting and quartering a chicken you shouldn't eat it you know. #but realistically i'm not gonna move to a farm or start hunting anytime soon so. learning to like lentils and chickpeas it is #is this like. libertarian of me. much to think about

alright anorexia is boring, let’s get yolked

#yeah so i gained 20lbs and started hitting the gym pretty hard two months ago #struggling with weight restoration/relapse urges worse than ever BUT i’m also feeling good about my progress and enjoying myself immensely #honestly didn’t realize how bad i missed lifting #and now that i have time off work i can actually focus on getting my nutrition right (i.e. actually consuming enough protein for once) #pegasus speaks #my face #my ancient ipod camera is shit quality but my abs are starting to show for the first time in like … 1.5 years lol #and im pleased with my anterior/lateral delts! although my pecs need some serious work. wtf #i train chest 2-3x/week and i can still see bones fml #ed ment tw #weight tw #ask to tag #i feel like i’m kind of relearning all my limits. like in terms of physical/mental energy and stuff. idk #doing a lot of research and figuring it out as i go. trying to avoid falling into systemic fatigue etc #as much as i love the gym i do have to compensate in other areas of my life #if i want to push myself this hard then that’s my choice. but like. i need to give up on doing other things. give and take. spoon theory #etc etc etc
