you stood with your back against the drinks table, sighing through your pouted lips as you glanced around the room, hoping for some type of entertainment to catch your eye. you didn't even wish to be here, in fact, you would have done just about anything to be snuggled up in your bed reading a book right about now.
jason was the reason you were here in the first place and yet, he was nowhere to be seen.
you’d heard of the wayne gala’s a lot before, it wasn’t exactly new to you. you’d been to a couple of them yourself too but there was a reason you didn’t come to them often and one could guess it was because this is how it always ended, you sat up against the drinks table with expensive alcohol swirling in your expensive glass and dressed in your expensive dress. it was so… not you.
you were the type of girl that dragged your friends to junk yards and bought the cheapest clothes that you saw hidden in thrift stores.
not the type of girl that attended wayne gala’s.
and yet, here you stood all because you were so helplessly smitten with your all time best friend, jason todd, the son of bruce wayne, the redhood, the gentleman, the many, many things. he’d asked you to go to the wayne gala’s with him before, offering it up yet you always politely declined, stating it wasn’t your scene but this time was simply different.
you’d sat up on your bed, flicking through your magazines while jason rambled on as he began tearing his tie from around his throat. it was late, too late but jason never did care for the time when it came to seeing you.
you swallowed, nodding along and humming. it was just so late and you’d only woken up so your mind was all fuzzy and for some reason you couldn’t stop thinking about how nice some grapes would taste right about now. “are you listening to me?” the question from jason was rhetorical but you’d be lying if you said your undivided attention as on him. “i’m a dead man!”
“it’s not that big of a deal.” you uttered, closing your magazine and sighing, you really wanted some grapes. “really, you’re only stressing yourself out. you’re an… attractive guy, i’m sure you’ll get a girlfriend between now and the next gala.”
“but thats the thing… i don’t want a girlfriend!” sheesh, your head was too clouded for his yelling. “i shouldn’t have opened my mouth.”
you could only shrug your shoulders, nodding. “true.”
he took a seat on the pink quilts that surrounded your bed, his head falling into his hands and groaning. “you’re not helping.”
jason had made the idiotic choice of lying to bruce when asked if he had a girlfriend. he was just so tired of him asking and asking and asking so he decided to lie, telling him that he did in fact have a girlfriend and that they’d been together for quite a while now, he’d just been saving the announcement for a more special day.
so what did bruce do? announce it at his next gala, stating that jason would surely be bringing her along for the next.
and jason almost choked on his bourbon.
he was dressed in his suit from before, his hair all messed and teased while his clothes just looked out of it, his shirt untucked, his jacket discarded on the ground and he had pulled the tie from his neck, unbuttoning the first two or three buttons, he felt like he was going to collapse.
“i’m sorry.” you spoke softly, feeling sympathetic for your ‘best friend’. you turned to him, clad in your pretty pink pijama’s and softening your gaze on him. “how can i help?”
the way you looked at him should have told him everything. what your gaze should have said was that you were in love with him, you had been since the very first day you’d laid your eyes on him, gaze never leaving and your jaw falling slack. okay, perhaps you hadn’t loved him during your first encounter but there was definitely… something, something that told you this wasn’t just any boy but he was something much much more.
it should have told him a lot of things, should have spilled your feelings right then and there but jason was as oblivious as they come, he hadn’t a notion of what your gaze meant. in fact, he blamed the diluted pupils on the fact that he’d woken you up, banging on your door at all hours of the night.
“you could help in one way but… nevermind, it’s stupid.” shaking his head and turning away. the master of manipulation.
and you looked almost concerned then, the victim of that very manipulation. “no, what is it? i wanna help.”
and he knew you did, it’s why he said anything in the first place. sweet old you, always willing to do anything he said, just to please him.
“you could… you know, pretend to be my girlfriend, it would just be for the night, for the gala. you know, to get everyone off my back?” his eyes stared back at you, big and hopeful.
how could you, in your right mind, say no when you were so utterly full of love for the boy. “wha… i don’t even have a dress.” an excuse, a terrible one because something in you was downright shocked. you? of all people? first, you could barely go to that gala as it was let alone pretend to be his girlfriend.
besides, you began to get a little worried. perhaps you’d like the pretend game a little too much.
“i’ll buy you a dress.” he insisted almost instantly. lord knew he had the money.
but you frowned a little at that. “i’m not a charity case, jay…” sure, your apartment was a little small but it was homely, it was you. though you were sure it didn’t much live up to jasons standards.
“not a charity case, i know.” he came a little closer, pressing his hand against your thigh and rubbing it gently. “i just want you to feel your best for the night, angel, it’s just one night.”
you bit down on your lip, knowing you’d regret it. “fine.”
but for jason, you’d face just about any guilt.
and after his many thank you’s and squishing hugs that had your face smushed against your chest you finally sighed out. “I can’t believe i’m doing this for you.” sending him a playful glare though there was a pit in your stomach.
“please.” he couldn’t help but smirk. “you love me.”
and you couldn’t possibly tear your eyes away from him. without playfulness or a smile, you spoke the words, “I’d have to be a fool.” before quickly shaking your head and changing the subject. “you have to wear a pink tie to match my dress.”
he had the audacity to laugh in your face. “I will not.”
“yes you will.” you folded your arms over your chest. “you will or i’m not going.”
jason couldn’t help but shake his head with a chuckle. “fine.”
“fine.” you repeated. “now go get me grapes from the fridge.”
brat.
you’d been announced as his girlfriend, he’d held your waist for the entire night, grinned and beamed over at you as his brothers watched sceptically.
now, you sat alone at a table, downing what felt like your hundredth glass.
you didn’t drink often so you gave yourself a little lean for this time, seeing as you never did it, now was your chance to get absolutely… shitfaced, did damian call it?
but it wasn’t as if you didn’t have a good reason.
jason, your best friend, your first and last love, was standing speaking to some blonde girl, she was giggling away, obviously pleased with herself as if she didn’t have a lipgloss smudge on her teeth. and you? you couldn’t have been more ashamed with yourself.
your head was placed on your arm that was slinked across the white tablecloth, just watching the pair as the alcohol swirled in your cup. you wondered how you went from eating the white grapes to downing the white wine in your hands.
then your eyes glanced back to jason, in his pretty pink tie, and it all made sense.
he was your best friend, you had no right to be jealous, no reason to be but for some reason you thought by him bringing you here, introducing you as his girlfriend meant something.
but it was all just play pretend.
you knew this, you knew it as well as anyone and yet you still couldn’t help but feel so utterly… hurt.
your eyes burned but you weren’t crying, your throat burned but that was only because of the alcohol that didn’t even taste nice.
they should really have grapejuice here, the non-alcoholic kind.
it was dick grayson who’d laid his hands on your shoulders that adverted your gaze from jason. your pupils were wide, the rims of your eyes red though you weren’t sure if that was due to the alcohol or the fact that you were holding your own tears at bay.
“hey, y/n, how you feeling?” his tone was soft, understanding. he really was one of your best friends. he was crouched down to your level as you sat in the chair.
you glanced down to the cup in your hands. “think ‘m drunk, dickie.” because suddenly the entire room was spinning.
“yeah.” he pressed his lips into a thin line. “think maybe you’re done for tonight, huh?” taking the glass from your hands before you could so much as protest.
with heavy eyes and an even heavier heart, you nodded your head. “think ‘m… ‘m gonna go home.” home was where your bed is, they say. but saying you were going home and directing it towards your house didn’t even sound right. home was that curly, raven haired boy with a pretty smile.
“don’t go home.” his eyes glanced towards jason, sighing. “don’t go before you’ve talked to him.”
dick was one of your best friends. with that being said, he knew everything about you down to where your birthmarks were, that meant he knew all about these hidden feelings for your supposed best friend jason todd, his dear little brother.
but you could only shake your head. even thinking about jason right now was enough to make you queasy. “no, he’s talkin’ to blondie.” blondie, the pretty girl who you couldn’t even judge if you wanted to. she had a dark black dress on, she was much taller than you, large heels and standing with her shoulders drawn back, obviously much more confident too.
was she everything that you lacked?
as if summoning him, you could feel the dark shadow that loomed over you, even with your head pressed against that damned tabelcloth, even that was expensive.
“is she alright?”
that voice, that pretty, deep, and almost mysterious voice yet as perplexing as it was, you were sure that you’d recognise that voice amiss any crowd, through any drink that entered your system. jason still roamed your mind, always and when his voice was spoken, you were sure to hear it.
“she’s drunk.” dick answered for you, as though you weren’t sitting right next to him. “i think you should bring her upstairs, get her cleaned up and put to bed.” dick was doing you a favour in the long run, even if it didn’t feel like it.
but your head had finally risen from the table, big doey eyes staring up at the two large men above you. “n-no i can… i can bring myself home.” your words slurring.
jason couldn’t help but laugh down at you, glossy lips turned into a pout. “yeah, cause i’d let you ride your little bicycle through gotham alone, at this hour of the night, in the state that you’re in.” of course, you were the only one in the entire world that would ride one of those pretty pink bikes with a woven basket in gotham. “come on, let me put you to bed.”
you don’t remember bidding goodbye to dick but you were sure you had. you didn’t remember moving from the table to the door, practically being pushed by jason. however, you did vaguely remember uttering the words, “you need’a say g’night to blondie.” to which he responded with. “who?”
that confused you because he genuinely seemed confused, as though he hadn’t even remembered the colour of the hair belonging to the girl he’d just spoken to. had he really been that uninterested or was he just putting on a show?
you did remember, however, sitting on the cold tiles of jason’s bathroom floor after he’d undressed you, stripping you to your undergarments and placing a long tee over you. you remembered the way his hands gently did it, soothing you as he went, uttering soft words and assuring you that it was okay.
in no way did he make anything sexual, instead, he was merely caring for his ‘best friend’.
you remembered the way the tears began rolling down your cheeks as you dry sobbed pathetically, the drink getting the better of you.
jason had been tending to your face, a cotton pad covered in micellar water gently cleansing your skin, softly dancing it across the makeup that covered your face and wiping it clean. he wasn’t used to taking off makeup, obviously, so this was a little difficult for him. but he got used to it.
it wasn’t the first time he’d done it for you.
only difference was this time he was comforting your cries at the same time. “shh, shh, c’mon, tell me wh’s the matter, baby?” all soft and gentle with you as you couldn’t do anything but let the liquidy tears fall down your face, trying to avoid his gaze. “c’mon, tell jay wh’s wrong so he can fix it.”
but how were you to tell him that the reason you were crying was because you loved him?
you couldn’t, so instead you opted for shaking your head, words practically heaving out of you as your breaths became laboured and uneven.
jason could tell where this was going.
he’d comforted you on multiple occasions, some worse than others but that didn’t change the fact that he knew you from the inside and out. “hey, hey, breathe, pretty girl, breathe.”
he’d taken your head in the palm of his hand, gently placing it against his chest so that you could feel the way his own chest rose and fell and hear the way his heart beated against his ribcage. he knew this was a good thing to do when it came to you, this was a reminder that he was alive and by the way you could hear and feel it too, surely, you were alive as well.
it was grounding.
“in with me, c’mon, angel.” breathing in and you followed, trying to take as much air into your lungs as you possibly could. “‘n out, good girl.” he praised, hearing the shaky breath that you still let out.
when your breathing had regulated back to normal, there were still tears streaming down your face and you couldn’t help but cry and whimper pathetically. you could blame the alcohol or you could blame the fact that you’d gotten so caught up in play pretend that you’d forgotten yourself, who you were and what you really meant to jason.
“s-shouldn’t have come.” you muttered through your desperate cries. “shouldn’t have come here.” while the messy tears coated your perfect skin.
it broke jason’s heart. you were his bubbly girl, always grinning and smiling, laughing at jokes you didn’t understand, grinning at people you didn’t even particularly like, you were nothing but good. you were gold, if the colour was a person, it was you. your heart was as big as a heart could get yet you know what they say, the bigger the person, the harder they fall.
and sometimes your poor golden heart simply couldn’t take the mean world.
“what?” suddenly, his own heart began to shatter. he suddenly felt as though it was his fault. you were acting like this because you didn’t want to be here, because either something had happened or simply you were too overstimulated due to the gala itself (poor oblivious jason still hadn’t got it right.) whatever the case, he’d been the one to drag you along here and now he felt guilt pang his heart heavily. “no, no everyone loved you, what are you talking about?”
your teary, broken eyes glanced up at him, and you couldn’t tear your eyes away.
perhaps it was the too much alcohol that had entered your lightweight system or perhaps it was the way he looked so… dreamy, even through your blurred vision. his pretty sapphire eyes gazed down at you, so full of concern and worry. he cared so deeply about you, you could tell from his eyes. the slope of his nose, his pretty lips drawn into a frown, his sharp jaw line and the little curls of his hair, white streaks at the front on wide display.
“i’m a fool.” you uttered, so pathetically, full of realisation.
once again, his black brows furrowed in confusion yet also so full of concern. he wanted to understand, to help you but you were proving it awfully difficult, not that he blamed you. “what? you’re not a fool, what are you talking about?”
you sniffled, practically blubbering. “i told you i’d have to be a fool to love you ‘n if that’s true then i’m a fool.” you hadn’t a notion of what possessed your mouth to move, possessed you to speak. “‘m the biggest fool in the world because i love you so much ‘n im scared i’ll never be able to stop loving you.”
and the biggest problem was that you were sure he’d never feel the same.
“is that what all of this is about?” he had to stop himself from chuckling at you, otherwise you’d take it the wrong way and the tears would begin again. instead, his eyes softened and his hand came down to move the hair from your face. “you should have just told me, princess, all of this could have been avoided.”
you stared up at him with those dazed, confused eyes.
“when i told you i didn’t want a girlfriend.” he confessed. “it wasn’t because i didn’t want one it was because i didn’t want one that’s not you.” you had to blink at him, thinking it was all merely a dream. “i love you too, sweet girl, always have, always will.”
and you were sure it was a dream.
“jay?”
“yeah?”
“will you tell me this again when i’m sober?”
a chuckle.
“of course, angel.”
“promise?”
“i promise.”

"Lady Wayne?" Alfred calls, pulling my attention away from the case file I've been looking over for Bruce.
"Hm?" I hum out, glancing at Alfred across the kitchen before turning back to my work.
"I made ice pops for the boys and you. Would you mind giving them out for me so I can start dinner?"
"Why'd you make ice pops?" I ask, getting up and heading towards Alfred. Sat on a tray in front of him are big ice cubs packed full of different fruits, each with a popsicle sticking out the bottom.
"You guys do not drink enough water so I'm hoping this will help."
"We drink plenty of water," I answer back, picking up the tray.
Alfred sighs, turning his attention to me. A deep frown is present on his face making his aging stand out even more on his face. "Lady Wayne, please tell me you don't actually think that."
"Of course not," I tell him, following it with a laugh. None of us are good at taking care of ourselves in any way, much less in our water intake.
I walk out of the kitchen, popsicle tray in tow as I head towards the second story of the manor. It doesn't take long to run into one of the boys. Damian is doing God knows what on the staircase. He's prancing around the steps, his katana in hand as he swishes it around. "What's up, Short Stack?" I poke at him, making sure to leave plenty of room between us.
"Practicing inclined swordsmanship," Dami answers, following it with a click of his tongue.
"That makes complete sense," I lie between my teeth. What is up with this kid? "Maybe let's not play with swords on the stairs though," I tell him, holding out one of the ice pops.
Damian takes the pop, pairing it with another tongue click. "I'm a trained assassin. I think I'll be fine practicing on the stairs."
I hum before hopping up the stairs, passing him on the way. "A trained pain in the ass too," I mumble to myself once he's out of earshot. I walk down the hallway, stopping outside Dick's room. I gently knock, which is responded to quickly with the door swinging open.
     "Hello!"
"Hello Y/N," Richard answers, glancing down at the tray in my hands. "Did you make popsicles?"
"Alfred made us ice pops. He says we don't drink enough water," I explain, holding out another pop.
"Hey, Tim?" He asks, ducking his head back into his room. "Do you want a popsicle?"
"Fuck ya!" Tim answers, quickly joining us at the door frame. "Thank you, Y/N," the younger boy says, taking a treat from the tray before disappearing back into the bedroom.
"Thank you," Dick repeats, also taking an ice pop before disappearing too.
That was pretty easy. I thought it would be more of a struggle to find everyone. With the manor being so big and the cave downstairs being even bigger, sometimes it's a struggle to find people. Maybe I'll get lucky, and Jason will be in his room too. I let the thought push me toward Jay's room. Once outside, just like Dick's room, I knock. Unlike Dick's room, I don't get an answer. "Jason," I call, knocking on the door again. There is no answer, so I decide to peek inside. The room is empty, with no sign of Jason at all.
Maybe I'll get lucky, and he'll be in the bat-cave. If not, then he just won't get an icicle. I make the short walk down the hallway to Bruce's study. Once again, I knock just in case. You never know if Bruce has a business partner in there or if they're work or league-related so it's best to be prepared. After a few seconds, the study door opens, and Bruce's grizzly bear form takes up the space. "I brought you a snack!" I chirp, raising the tray some.
"Thank you for the ice-pop," Bruce says, a soft smile covering his face as he picks out which one he wants. "Jason is down in the cave if you want to give him his or I can take it down."
"No, I'll take it down. I'm soaking in my break time from the Riddler case."
Bruce chuckles some before stepping aside so I can walk through. I squeeze through the gap, making sure not to drop the last two popsicles. The older man closes the door behind me before sitting back down at his desk. I take my time walking through the room towards the clock, looking over all the bookcases pilled full of books. I mess with the clock, getting it to unlock as I look over some of the titles. I need to come snoop through here for a good read once I finish my book.
The clock pops some as it swings open, the old wood worn and stressed from constant use. I slip through, making sure to close it behind me in case Bruce gets a visitor. The cave echoes as I walk down the metal stairs, my slippers sliding a bit as I walk. You'd figure by now I'd wear shoes with more traction, so I don't slip on the constantly soaked floors. Oh well.
"Jason!" I yell, walking down the last few stairs before standing steadily on the cave floor which is also soaked. Go figure. Who'd guess that a cave in the 'rainy city' of Gotham would always be wet and cold?
"Y/N!" Jason yells back, his voice echoing some off the walls.
I turn my head in the direction of his voice. Jason is tucked under one of the bat-cycles, working away on who knows what. He's always tinkering on something; The bikes, the bat-mobile, the bat-plane, something. I make a quick - but careful - pace towards the makeshift garage where all the bikes are stored. The 'garage' is more so a fancy shed than a garage. The left of it is stocked full of motorcycles. The right on the other hand is Jason's work bench that's always packed full of tools and different parts. The front of the shed - other than the door - is a wall of glass windows. You can see the left from the computer but it's harder to see the right. It's even harder considering the bat-mobile is usually parked in front of the windows on this side, like it is today.
"I brought you an ice pop," I tell him, setting the tray on the workbench before leaning against it. The edge of the bench digs into my back a bit but it's worth getting the pressure off my feet. For once it's not overflowing with random shit.
"Did you?" Jay asks, shifting some to get out from under the bike before deciding not to. He pulls on something, causing the metal to clink against the floor. "That's not good," he mumbles to himself more so than to me.
"Probably not," I answer back, crossing my arms over my chest and smiling some.
"Ya, ya, ya," he grumbles, sliding himself out before shifting to a sitting position. His eyes glance over me before settling back towards the bike.
Ever since the failed mission last week Richard swears there's been tension between Jason and me. On my last mission, I got shot a few times which has benched me from on-field missions. It's part of the reason I've been looking over case files for Bruce. Jason swooped in and played hero, which ended in a feverish kiss. We've both ignored it; not because of me though. I keep trying to talk about it, but he just brushes it off. Since it doesn't seem like he cares much I've settled on it just being heat from the 'you almost died' moment. It's nothing more than that, a misstep that happened because emotions were high. Though Richard swears up and down that, we like each other. Maybe so, but Dick likes drama so he can be a pot-stirrer sometimes.
I watch Jason tinker a bit more, making sure not to stare at his shoulders too long. Jason is an asshole most of the time, but even assholes can look good when their mouths aren't running. Especially tall assholes with a physique that reviles Bruce's. "Are you going to eat an ice pop?" I ask, glancing towards the computer stored in the cave. I can't see much of it, but I can see the top of someone's head, probably Tim's or Bruce's.
"Are you going to harass me about it until I say yes?"
     "On behalf of Alfred, yes."
Jason half sighs, and half chuckles before standing up. "Well, I can't say no to Alfred," he says, walking towards me. Jay stops in front of me, less than an inch between us as he reaches behind us to grab a popsicle off the tray. A mixed smell of leather and oil rolls off of him, filling me up with fuzzy warmth. "Is the other one for you?" He asks, pulling his arms back in front of us, both ice-pops in his hands.
"Mmhmm," I hum, glancing down at his hands. I am not petite by any means of the word, but I feel small when around Jason. Anyone would feel small around the brick of a man.
Jay hums back, popping his treat into his mouth before holding mine out to me. I should be an asshole and push him to acknowledge the kiss. The thought rolls around my head for a second as my eyes flicker from Jay's face to his hand. I bend my head down some, taking the pop into my mouth as he still holds it. I make a show of it, wrapping my hand around his wrist as I slide down some. I keep a hold of the pop, loosening his grip on it before lifting my head back up; the icicle still wrapped up in my lips.
Hood's jaw is set tight, eyes drinking me in for a couple of seconds before he turns on his heels and walks away from me. Ya, Richard is definitely wrong. I push the event out of my head, focusing on the stuff I've been reading about Riddler, figuring the new environment will help my thought process. I roll over the information, absorbing the melting ice, occasionally pulling it out of my mouth so my teeth don't get too cold. The curse of having sensitive teeth. The room is mostly quiet, though, occasionally Jay drops something, cutting through the silence and causing Tim to pipe up and ask if we're okay.
Maybe I should recommend checking out some of Riddler's old hideouts. He's on the run again after attacking one of the Joker's men. I don't see him finding a new hideout on such short notice. Maybe he's staying with Two-Face, they're pretty close. Though I think Bruce already checked out-
"Can you stop that?" Jay asks sharply, pulling me out of my thought process.
I pull the ice out of my mouth again, causing it to pop louder than I meant to. "Can I stop what?"
"That," he hisses, eyes throwing daggers at me. "You're being annoying."
"Oh, I'm sorry," I mumble, going back to my treat but making sure to be as quiet as possible as I enjoy it. I wonder if the Riddler just fled town? Probably not, if he hasn't before, I don't see him doing it now. Maybe we should just interrogate Two-Face about it. Even if Bruce cleared all of Two-Face's hideouts, that doesn't mean he doesn't know where his buddy is.
"Y/N," Jason husks out, his voice a lot closer to me than it was before. I look up from the floor to be met with Jason once again barely an inch away. "You should go back upstairs."
"Why?" I ask around the ice-pop, cranking my neck some to look into Jay's eyes.
He rolls his jaw some, his eyes hard as they stare down at mine. "You're being a distraction," Jason finally answers, taking the popsicle out of my mouth and throwing it on the workbench. "Go upstairs."
"Hey! You just ruined my treat," I whine, dropping my hands to my hips as I glare at the taller ex-robin.
He rolls his eyes, starting to walk away as he mumbles to himself, "Maybe I wouldn't have ruined it if you did that to my-" The sentence is cut off as Jay sits back down on the floor.
If I did that to his what?... Oh... Oh... No, I did not... I didn't get into Jay's head. I mean, I teased a bit, but I didn't think it was that bad. I barely did anything. Well, unless me 'annoying' him wasn't normal annoyance and was that kind of annoyance instead. Was it?
I hum, pushing myself off the workbench, and start heading towards the door so I can test my theory. "Maybe if you'd ask like a big boy I would," I mumble as I slide past Jason, quickly slipping out the door after the words are out. I leave the door open, giving me the chance to sneak a peek at how he's reacting. Jay's head shoots up at my words, his eyes glancing from my descending form and the project in front of him.
"Y/N," he calls, quickly climbing to his feet and chasing after me. His big hands wrap around my shoulders, pulling me back. "What did you say?" he asks, shifting himself so I'm trapped between him and the bat-mobile.
"What did you say?" I repeat, shoving my hands into the back pockets of my pants.
Jason stands there, hands still heavy on my shoulders as he stares down at me. "I... didn't say shit," he finally pushes out, taking a quick glance at my lips before staring back at my face.
"I didn't say anything either then."
Silence falls between us, the only sound being Tim tapping away at the computer and occasional yaps from the bats hanging from the ceiling. "You... you are a fucking tease," Jay finally whispers, his fingers featherily light as they skip down my arms.
"How am I tease?" I ask, making sure to sound cocky. I'm finally going to get him to talk about the kiss. I win.
"Sitting there blowing a popsicle... Looking at me with doe eyes..." Jay's hands jump from my arms to my waist, still light as they dance across the waistband of my jeans. "Spending the last week walking around with almost nothing on. Pretending it's so there's easier access to your bandages," he mumbles, his fingers working at undoing my pants.
"Jay, I was just trying to get you to talk about - Oh!" My words are cut off by a soft moan as Hood dances his fingers across my clothed pussy. My hand falls back to his wrist, wrapping my fingers around it tighter than I did earlier as the other one slides around his shoulders to latch onto the back of his neck.
"Oh?" He repeats pupils dilated, hiding some of the green as he watches my reactions. His fingers are still light as they circle my clit, down to my hole, before circling back up again. My legs close some, the feeling of Jason's forearm muscles being pressed into my thighs. "You know, since bringing you back to the cave, seeing how cute you looked all bandaged up and planted in that hospital bed-" he starts, tilting his head down and whispering in my ear, "- all I've thought about is how amazing it would be to serve you. Living on my knees so I can please you. It must be so painful to get yourself off with five bullet holes littering your stomach. Tell me, can you bend enough to finger yourself, Baby?"
     "Jay-"
"I asked a question," he says, shifting his head over so that our noses are gently pressed together. "Yes-" he starts, sliding his fingers under the right side of my panties, "-or no?" Hood finishes, switching his touches to the left side of my underwear.
"No," I breathe out, releasing his wrist to join my hand on his neck alongside the other one.
"Hmm," he hums out, placing a quick peck on my lips before lifting his head again. Jay drops his hand from my pussy, wrapping both of them around my thighs to lift me. I whine from the lack of friction, getting a chuckle out of him. He's careful not to press against my stomach, avoiding causing pain to flower from my healing wounds. Jay's lips are light as they slide over my neck and his hands heavy as they set me down on the hood of the car.
     "Jason you can't, we can't-"
"I can, you just have to let me," he mumbles, sliding his hands to my back and dipping down my pants. His hands are warm as he pushes my pants off of me, and gentle as he lifts me to pull them down my legs before discarding them to the ground. "Let me taste you, please?" Jay whispers, placing a kiss behind my ear before trailing down my jaw and neck again.
"But Tim's in the cave," I whine, shoving my hands into his hair and letting my fingers get tangled in it.
"So?" He asks, sliding his hands under my shirt, hooking his thumbs on the hum to push it up as his hands rise.
"Ow, fuck don't do that," I hiss when Jay slides over one of my wounds.
"I'm sorry," he murmurs, pushing my shirt over my head and letting it fall onto the hood of the car. Once my shirt is off, Jason's mouth is instantly attached to me. He makes quick work, sucking and kissing any skin he comes in contact with as his hands slide back down to my thighs. The chillness of the car aids in the need that's building. My thighs are peeled apart, and my panties are soon descending my legs as well.
"I cannot wait until you're better."
"Why is that?" I ask, my fingers tugging on his hair as his fingers ghost over my clit.
"I want to hear you sucking on me like you did that popsicle," Jason says, stealing another quick kiss before he falls to his knees. "Take your bra off," he orders, glancing up at me before looking back at my cunt, "I want to see your tits as I enjoy your pussy."
Reluctantly, I remove my hands from his hair, unclasping my bra and tossing it on top of my pants before planting them back on his head. Jay's eyes stay locked on my tits as he makes long, slow licks over my clit. His hands are rough as they grip my thighs, stopping me from locking them around his head. "You taste so good," he whispers, poking his tongue into my pussy before latching his mouth around my clit.
Jason enjoys himself, watching my boobs move around as he sucks and licks at me. It doesn't take long for the knot in my stomach to tighten and soon enough I release onto Hood's tongue. He hums happily to himself, taking his time licking my mess up. "Bruce is going to be pissed when he sees the mess you left on his car," he teases, followed by a soft chuckle.
"Jay," I whine, tugging on his hair to try and get him to crawl up my body.
"Y/N," he whines back, further teasing me but doing as I want. "You're acting like a whiney little thing. What happened to the badass that teased me with a popsicle? Not so badass anymore, huh?" His fingers dip into me, curling occasionally before he pulls them back out of me. "Are you a needy brat? The spoiled Wayne baby that's not used to being told no?" Jay's fingers speed up their pumping as he degrades me, kisses being littered across me as he speaks.
"Jason, please," I whine again, dropping my hands to his waist to try and pull him closer to me.
"Please what, baby? What do you want?"
"Please?" I try again, drawing out the word.
"'Maybe if you'd ask like a big girl I would' give you what you want," he says, throwing my words back in my face.
"Fuck me, Jay," I mumble, working my hands at his belt and pants to try and undo them. I do manage to get them undone and waste no time sliding my hand in. I softly paw at his dick, impatiently waiting to hear him make the noises he's been forcing out of me.
"What a needy little thing. Less than ten minutes ago you were oh so worried about Tim seeing us and now look at you. You're naked propped up on a car, begging me to fuck you as you give me a handy. It turns you on, doesn't it? It turns you on knowing at any second someone could see me filling your pussy." I hate to admit it but he's not wrong and he knows it, which makes it even worse.
Jason chuckles a bit as he pulls his fingers out of me. I pout at the emptiness left inside me, which gets me a deep, slow kiss from the anti-hero. "Don't pout baby, I'll fill you back up in no time," he promises, wrapping his arms around my legs again to lift me. Jay props me back on my feet before turning me around and bending me over the hood of the car, being careful not to push the metal into my bandages.
The cold metal sends shivers through me and causes my nipples to harden almost painfully. In no time his fingers are sliding back into me, continuing to gently push me towards my orgasm. The jingling of Jay's belt fills the space between before his fingers are lost, and his tip is pressed against my hole to mess with me. He gently pushes his head against me, pulling back before it goes in. "You're teasing," I finally whine, shimming my hips back when he places his tip against me again.
Jay chuckles but lets me get the extra inch from my movements. "You teased first," he reminds me, placing his hands on my hips. The roughness feels nice against my smooth skin as he tightens his grasp. He uses his hands to keep me in place as he slides the rest of the way in. The stretching sends continual waves of pleasure through me, rewarding Jay with a soft moan. His hair softly tickles me as he leans down to litter my back with kisses, using them to fill in the time he's given me to adjust.
After a minute, Jason slowly pulls out before bottoming out in me again. His pace stays slow and soft as he uses me. The zipper of his pants rubs against my thighs every time our hips clash. "Jay, I need more," I whimper, trying to buck my hips back but his hands stop me from doing it.
"You don't need more, you want more," he answers, a smirk forming in his kisses. Despite the teasing, Jay gives in, keeping his pace slow but thrusting into me harder. I can feel myself tightening around him and his thrusts getting sloppier. "You're such a fucking tease," he mumbles as his pace quickens. "Filling my work room and my head with the sounds of you slurping and sucking away on your stupid treat."
"Jay-" I say, trying to get his attention as he thrusts push me closer to the car's grill than I'd like.
"I know, baby," he mumbles against my shoulder before pressing a kiss to it. Jason's hands slip from my hips to my stomach, gently cupping my wounds and making sure not to add any pressure to them. "I'm so fucking close," he murmurs, his thrusts still inching me up the hood. His hands bump into the front of the car, adding slight pressure to my stomach before he adjusts his placement.
Jason's thrusts gentle a bit as he slips one of his hands down to my clit, starting to rub circles into it. Mews fall out of me, mixing with Jay's heavy breathing. "I'm sorry," he mumbles against my ear as he pulls me back by my waist, shoving himself as far in as he can. His fingers keep circling my clit as he fills my womb. "Fuck, fuck, fuck," he murmurs once my release comes and I tighten around him still tucked into me.
We stay like this, Jason buried into me, his hands rubbing circles into my hips as he litters kisses across my back and I still hunch over the bat-mobile, my legs threatening to give out from under me if we don't move soon. "So, about our kiss the other day?"
Jay lets out a deep laugh, smashing another kiss into my shoulder blade before slowly pulling out of me. The mix of our juices leaks down my legs, Jason's fingers rubbing it around my thighs. "Maybe we should worry about cleaning you and the Bat's car before we discuss that and this." Touché Hood.

Back to you.
OKAY. I had this idea while I was washing dishes. Just tell me if I should write this or not! (Just a preread to see if at least one person will like this)
warnings: angst, fluff and a bit of stalk
Back to you masterlist.
Tumblr media
Dating a Robin was magical. Him showing up at your window at night and running around the mansion to hide from an angry Alfred about having his cookies stolen was just incredible. But no one told you that you would lose your boyfriend one day.
The risk was always clear and you were aware of the danger that Jason was in, but you had never imagined that the Joker would kidnap and kill him.
When Bruce told you it was like losing a part of you. Half of your soul ripped out and killed prematurely.
You cried for weeks. You fainted when you saw his body in that coffin. The love of your life was dead.
You spent months in deep grief and depression. You thought about giving up and even killing the joker, but how could you? she was just another ordinary civilian.
Two, three years passed. You entered therapy and had asked Bruce for help. You wanted to set up an NGO, with the name Jason, of course. You wanted to help the children and teenagers who suffered on the streets of crime alley just like Jason suffered.
Bruce agreed and gave you all the financial support you needed.
Jason Peter Todd Association for children and teenagers in need. That was the name you said with pride and love.
Over time, this helped you try to get over Jason's death. Seeing the smiles on those children's faces made you smile again.
It was already the fourth year since Jason's death. You always visited Jason's grave to lay flowers. It was a tradition to go to his grave on weekends and sit down to read a Jane Austen or Shakespeare classic.
In the fifth year you had already expanded the NGO. It was already in other poor parts of the city.
And suddenly, more donations began to appear, and much higher than Bruce's. It scared you and made you curious. They were all always in Red Hood's name.
Some time later, crime decreased and the sale of drugs to children was no longer happening. In the news the name Red Hood was always mentioned.
He was the new Prince of Crime. For you, it doesn't matter, he's helping children and protecting them from crime.
But things were getting strange. Flowers appeared on the doorstep of you apartment, boxes with classic limited edition books and chocolates (your favorites), and all with the same signature. RedHood.
This was scaring you. Who is this guy? And why you?

Summary: you end a peaceful patrol to go make jason rest
Jason Todd x Gn!Vigilante!Reader | 749 words | no y/n
Warnings: mild sickness, mentions of gangs, petty theives, ect. Nothing to crazy
✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆
Standing on the roofs of Gotham, you can see everything. The city, despite the darkness that lurks in every corner, is beautiful. The lights from tall city buildings reflecting off windows, the sounds of the bustling streets, the moment of calm.
Your vigilante costume sits tight to your skin, hiding your identity from the many people out and about this late at night. Despite Gotham being one of the most dangerous city's in the world, the night life is forever endless. Gothamites never sleep it seems.
Your patrol has been pretty calm all night, Jason at home with a cold, Dick back in Büldhaven, Tim visiting the Kent's, Duke staying in to work on an essay, and everyone doing their own thing tonight. Small gangs and petty thiefs have been active, but it seems the routes have also taken a night off. Perhaps it's the freezing cold temperatures the city has recently encountered, or the heavy rain that has been on and off the past week.
As you finish your break, your comms get slightly hijacked, "seems your alone tonight." The voice is clearly Oracle.
"Seems you are too, all the other death defying idiots too busy to give you attention right now?" Your smile can be heard from your tone as you begin to move through the city.
Her laugh sounds through your ears, "very funny. Anyways, I want you to finish up. It's nearing the end of the night anyways, go home early."
Your feet stop moving on a differnet roof top at her tone, despite being light hearted as usual, it seems to have a serious undertone laced through it. "Is there a patrical reason for this bonus vacation time?"
"Redhood has called me three times. One to ask abt information on a case, which I didn't give him and told him to rest." While Oracle explains, you begin moving in a different direction, now aiming for home, "the other two times asking about you, were you are, how you are. If he calls me again in gonna block both your numbers."
"You underestimating us? I'm sure I could contact you even if you tried to get rid of me." You laugh, but definitely tense at the information. Jason has been out of commission for two nights in a row due to a horrible cold he got. You assume it's from the storm he was in the other day, mixing with the chemicals from Ivys plants, due to the area he was patrolling.
"Try me." Is all you hear before Oracle leaves you be. Once again leaving you to the ambiance of Gotham city.
You quickly make your way to your shared apartment. You climb up the fire escape and go through the open window, to see the lovely sight of your shirtless boyfriend.
On the couch, hunch over and man spreading, is Jason, in boxers and nothing else as he sorts through case files.
"Damn babe, it's fucking freezing in here." You take off your mask and shut and lock the window you came through, "no wonder you have a damn cold. You're never gonna get over it at this rate."
Jason hums in acknowledgment, still sorting through his files. With a sigh and a roll of your eyes, you go to the bedroom to change. Stripping out of your costume, throwing on warm and proper clothes, and cleaning yourself up a bit.
When you come back to the living room, Jason hasn't moved a bit.
"Jay?" You lean on the doorway and wait for a response, getting none. "Jason?" Again, nothing.
So, not feeling like dealing with him being defiant, you walk over to the couch where he sits, and stand between him and the coffee table, forcing him to look at you.
Jason finally looks up, eyes tired and red, skin slightly sweaty. "Hello." He finally says.
"You should be in bed." Your nails rake through his hair, slightly gross feelings but Jason is clearly enjoying it.
"I was working." His eyes flutter closed as he relaxes into your touch.
A small smile forms over your face as you move to cradle his face in your hands, "save work for later, you need mental and physical rest."
Jason opens his eyes to look up to you, "yeah, okay. Fine." Voice reluctant.
Walk him back to your shared bed, seeing him plop down and pass out almost immediately, you decide that everything else can wait, so you claw up with him and join him.

The better brother
Parings: Jason Todd x Reader. Dick Grayson x Reader Summary: Jason loses his best friend to his brother in the worst way possible.
warnings: love triangle, indirect cheating, angst.
Jason watched  the droplets of rain hit his car window as he patiently waited for his friend to enter the car. The music softly played from the car radio while Jason moved his body in an attempt to get comfortable knowing that with the rain falling down Y/n wasn’t leaving her apartment anytime soon. He let out a sigh looking down at his phone laying on his lap. He reread the message Y/n had previously sent that read the address they were going to. He had it memorized by now but part of him wanted to act like he didn’t know where he was going and “accidentally” drive to the wrong place.
He knew that these last few moments that he will have with Y/n without feeling the constant guilt. Jason didn’t know why he agreed to drive her in the first place. But who was he kidding Y/n can ask Jason to jump out of a building and he would do it with no hesitation. But this was different, Jason knew what he was doing and what was going to happen when he drove Y/n to their destination.
He gripped on the steering wheel in an attempt to calm his nerves and with that a hyper Y/n came running towards the car, opening the door with a big smile on her face. She closed the car door, placing her things down quickly, turning to Jason and giving him a warm hug even though she was soaking wet.
“You are going to freeze yourself to death, Y/n! You didn’t have an umbrella on you?” Jason asked worried she was going to catch a cold or something. Momentarily forgetting the actual situation at hand.
“Well it’s nice to see you too, Jason. I’m doing fine” Y/n responded sarcastically while rolling her eyes. Jason laughed softly imitating her actions.
Y/n lays on her lap a nicely decorated box. Jason slowly looks down, spotting the box on her lap, his smile instantly dropping. He reached with his left hand towards the backseat of the car and handed her his jacket that was laying in the backseat.  He directs his body again towards the front of the car while Y/n puts the jacket on.
Y/n felt her nostrils fill up with Jason’s cologne, his scent instantly hypnotizing her making her forget for an instant what was she doing here in the first place.  Jason smiled softly while  turning the car on noticing how big the jacket was on her. He started the engine proceeding to start their trip, not even bothering to type in the address. Y/n knew he didn’t need the address to take her to their destination but she sent it to him just to make sure.
To Jason, Y/n sending the address was a confirmation that there was no chance of them being happy, together. At least in Y/n eyes. Because she didn’t know all the things Jason knew, all the secrets, lies, that were unknown by Y/n.
But even if Jason Todd knew, here he was driving the love of his life to the arms of another man.
Y/n could feel the tension all over the air so she leaned towards the radio turning the music up a little trying to avoid the awkward silence surrounding them, something knew in their relationship.
Every minute Jason caught himself seeing familiar billboards or places, he could feel his heart drop. They were getting close, close to her revealing the truth.
“Are you sure you want to do this? I can turn around if you want. I really don’t mind” Jason finally spoke, breaking the silence. He quickly turned the music off. His voice when he spoke was determined, determined to not watch her get her heartbreak.
“I’m positive Jason! I know what I’m doing. You’re always telling me ‘Y/n you should take risks in life. You should be more open.’ Well this is me taking a risk for once.” Y/n responded while looking outside the window noticing the place almost at their destination.
“ I’m just worried about you Y/n. I don’t want this to end bad” He stopped the car finally arriving at the house.
“Everything is going to be completely fine Jason. You have to be happy that your best friend is finally finding love” She responded, laying her hand on his lap trying to reassure  him.
“I am..I just wish” Jason tried to say but his words couldn’t come out.
“You wish what, Jason?”  Y/n asked, encouraging him to continue while connecting their gaze.
“I just wish you would finally find love with me instead of Dick. That’s what I wish God damn it” Jason responded desperately while running a hand through his hair and avoiding her gaze.
“Jason, please don’t do this. Not right now” Y/n while looking at her lap.
“I need to say it before you go to the love of your life. I just needed to let it out” Jason responded, tears threatening to spill.
“And right now was the best time?” Y/n asked sarcastically.
“Y/n! I know him. He’s my brother for fucks sakes. I’m trying to protect you, he is going to break your heart. Trust me”  He responded desperately
“Jason, I’ve known Dick all my life. He wouldn’t do that to me” Y/n responded her voice filled with anger.
“Why would I lie to you, Y/n? I know you, I care about you”  Jason said with the same tone.
“ Maybe because you're obsessed with me, I supposed” Y/n respond finally exploding.
“That’s not fucking it. But go ahead fuck your life, see how much I care”
“Oh, I will! I’ll fucking will”
“Just go! Your prince charming is waiting” He responded, still not looking at her. Y/n got up and started picking her stuff. She opened the door and slammed it shut. Jason watched as she hesitantly walked towards his door. He saw and she nervously knocked on the door.
After a few minutes, Dick finally opened. Even from here Jason could see how nervous she actually was. By the way her head was moving; he knew she was telling Dick what she wanted to hear from him. Today was the day Y/n L/n told Dick Grayson how she truly felt about him. When she finished Dick quickly hugged her but that wasn’t Jason's main focus. He felt himself following the movement in the back window of Dick house noticing a female jumping out of the window.
oh, Y/n L/n, you’re in for a big treat.

Tumblr media
He felt a strong pain on his shoulders. Feet aching from standing for so long. Knuckles bruised from the constant punches thrown at others. The night seemed endless when all he wanted was to get comfortable in the warmth of his bed.
Jason just wanted to rest.
He was so tired that he swore he could sleep at this very moment, even though his clothes were scattered with dry blood and different cuts.
He quietly enters the shared apartment, puts both his helmet and jacket next to the couch. He realizes there is something, or rather someone, resting on it, with a blanket loosely wrapped around them. They have their eyes closed, and mouth slightly opened, body completely curled up, trying to bring some more warmth.
Jason's expression instantly softens and a small smile makes its way to his mouth. He said tons of times how even if he appreciates their effort of staying up until late, he feels guilty for it.
He takes his significant other from the couch, paying attention to not wake them up. He puts them in their shared bed, get close to their forehead, and softly kisses the skin.
He pulls away and goes straight to the bathroom. He doesn’t take too long in there, quickly takes his shower, and comes back in a sweatpants, drying his hair with a towel. After he is done, he goes back to the bedroom and finally lays on the bed he so badly craved for.
The moment he gets comfortable on the bed, the body next to him stirs a bit, and its as if they feel his presence and get closer to him. Jason wastes no time in hugging them, realizing they are still asleep. He secures them in his strong hold and kisses the top of their head, closing his own eyes, and getting the very sleep he deserved.

Jason Todd Sick Day
A/N: Thank you all for the support on my two earlier stories. I'm very grateful for you reading my work. I'm going to be writing this if I were taking care of Jason. So, there may be things that we do differently. Please consider following if you want to know when I post next. Love you <3
Summary: You have a 6’0ft giant walking around sick in your shared apartment. It then turns into a lazy day for the two of you.
Tumblr media
_____________________
Jason got sick the previous night. After hanging out with Roy. Drinking, going to multiple bars, and having a good time with his friend. Hours after Jay's departure, Roy came to your shared apartment knocking on the door. Opening the door, you see Roy supporting Jason's weight to your surprise. Taking in your drunk boyfriend, you thanked Roy and put Jason to bed ASAP. He came home catching a cold. Throwing up in the toilet soon after. Jay can usually hold his liquor, but it was different I suppose. I wonder whys that.  The symptoms showed up the morning after. Coughing and sneezing every so after. You scolded Jason for getting sick but quickly got to work to get him in better health.
Leaving Jason in bed, treating him by giving him hot drinks. Placing a warm and damp towel on his head. Rubbing his stomach and back in ointment to help. You were headed to the kitchen to prepare some soup for him. Before that could happen, Jason grabbed your hand.
“Thank you, my love, for your help.” He put his hand to his mouth to block the cough. “But let me help you with some of the food.” His voice was strained by all the coughing. Lazily sitting up in bed. No longer laying down but sitting upright.
Eyes widening and concern taking over. Sitting on the bed, you placed a hand on his back and rubbed it in circles. Jason leaned his head on your shoulder. “Don't worry about that right now Jay. I need you to try a get better ok. I'll take care of the food for today or however long it takes for you to feel better.” You give him a peck on the forehead. “And before you get any ideas. You're not going out on patrol until you start feeling better.”
Jason laughed at the last comment. “Whatever you say, commander” Jason picked up his head from your shoulder and grabbed a nearby hoodie. Slipping it over his head. Grabbing a light blanket and wrapping it over his head. He was ready to leave the bedroom. “Would you like me to be in the living room? Commander?”
Rolling your eyes. “I suppose, but you better not leave that seat. Until the food is finished. I'll be watching you.” Doing the gesture of pointing at your eyes and then to his. His signature chuckle escaped his mouth. Not adding any more to the conversation jay left to go into the living room
After fixing the bed, you followed suit out the door, your destination was the kitchen instead. Opening cabinets and picking some broth. Putting it in a pan, you placed it on the stove and warmed it up. Cutting up fresh ingredients and adding them into the broth after, along with the chicken. After some time, the soup was ready to eat.
Getting out two bowls and carrying them to the table you called out for Jason to join you. You didn't notice before, but Jason’s nose was as red as Rudolph's. Without the direct lighting, it wasn't too noticeable. With the overhead lighting shining directly above it was another story.
Jason notices your eyes focusing on a specific spot on his face. “Hmm”, he wonders what's wrong. Was there something on his face he forgot to wipe off from last night? Pointing to your nose he goes cross-eyed for a moment to check it out. Without perfect vision, he can clearly see the tint of red forming. “How long has that been there?”
“I don't think it's been there too long, I just recently noticed.” Walking closer to him you inspect it on a closer scale. Hand in chin you lean closer to his nose, for comedic effect. “It's suits you… I got my own reindeer now!” You smile at him. Teasing him.
Jason simply scoffed at your comment. It was something he could imagine himself saying to you if you were in his situation. You went over to the fridge and picked out some cold medicine. Measuring it out you gave it to Jay before he could start on the soup. Taking it all in one gulp. His Adam's apple bobbing along his throat. The aftertaste was terrible. Making a sour face, he is adamant about eating the soup quickly to wash it down.
Jay went over to the seat, you handed him some more tea you brewed earlier to help his sickness. You joined him in the accompanying chair. He thanks you once more for all your effort. Jay thinks you spoil him with all your affection. But thankful, nonetheless.
The soup bowls eventually emptied, and are now found in the stomachs of you two. Jason picks them up and heads to the sink, the blanket still atop him. Quickly cleaning them and putting them on the drying rack he joined you back at the table.
“What's on the schedule today my love?” His voice sounds a bit better, but still a bit croaky. Jason is leaning on the table looking directly at you. Wrapping himself up with the blanket tighter.
The thoughts of finishing that show the two of you started flashed through your mind.  You also had a couple of errands that needed your urgent attention. Just some online work that you need to catch up on. You swear to yourself every time that you won't procrastinate again. But earlier attempts resulted in failure to change. Today was going to be different! While in deep thought you hear a huge sniffle come from Jason. Followed by more coughs. Ugh that paper can wait until tomorrow. You had a 6’0 man to tend to. He needed your attention more.
Pushing your chair away from the table and leaning into jay . "We can just have a lazy day together. How about we catch up on that TV series we started a while back! What was it called again? Arcane?”
Jay flashed a look of surprise; he forgot the two of you were in the middle of that series. Jason really liked Vi as a character but related more to Jinx. ‘That sounds like a plan y/n.” Standing up, he spreads his arm out. His blanket followed his arms, giving him a pretend cape like his adoptive father. Jason picks you up. Slightly lifted off the floor. Jason squishes you against his body, he then heads over to the living room carrying you in his hands.
Walking past the shelf full of photos and ceramics the two of you painted together recently. Plopping you down on the sofa. Then grabbing the remote. Handing it over to you. He opens the shutters and is met by a pale blue light. The Light is the tint of blue because of the clouds covering the sky. Heavy clouds, it was going to rain later. Jason eventually sits right next to you, resting his head on your lap getting comfortable. Jay looks up to you and gives you the best smile he can muster.
The corners of his mouth stretched from ear to ear, eyes tightly closed shut. To top it all off with his reindeer nose. He looked like a little kid you thought. Cherishing the moment, all you could do was smile back. Reaching in your pocket without bothering Jason. You Tried to sneak a photo; you were successful in that. But the flash was on, and Jason knew at once. Opening his eyelids his first thought was to snatch the phone and delete it. You both knew each other's passwords. There was nothing incriminating on there, you two had complete trust in each other.
Jason was wrestling you for a while. The blanket that covered him was long gone now. Tossed to the other couch so he can move more freely. You were successful in defending your phone from him. Jason would try and say he was going easy on you. But you knew he was lying. Jason caught you off guard when you tried to escape. Pushing you down on the couch and hovering on top of you. Looking down at you, his body blocking any sunlight illuminating your body. Casting a direct shadow on you. His heavy breath was felt on your skin. Leaving goosebumps with every exhale he took.
Speechless, you didn't know what the next move was. You couldn’t wiggle out, he was caging you with his arms. So, the best plan of action was to Boop his cherry nose. When contacting the tip, you could feel the heat on his skin. Blood gathering near the surface gave him that reddish tint. He was taken aback, his hands and arms somewhat shaking.
“Please Jason, I beg you… let me keep the photo. I promise I'm not going to do anything with it. Just my personal enjoyment.
“Your dead set on keeping that photo huh.” You shook your head yes while underneath him. “Ah, I guess you can keep it.’ Jay rolled his eyes and then plopped on top of you. Letting out a grunt jay was laying on your chest. "But it stays between us” His face to the tv screen. After a few moments, “You going to start it, or not?” His jaw gnawing at your stomach as he said it. Grabbing the remote under all the mess the two of you caused, you started the show. Hopefully, Jinx will come to her senses by the end of this show...

jason had realised much too late what was going on.
his head had been torn while working on the case with dick. what was joker going to do next, who was the target? after all, he never did go out without a bang. and he was getting closer and closer to the people they loved.
it was just a matter of time.
he had to admit, during all of this he'd managed to push you away. unintentionally, of course. you two were getting into it almost every day now. though he had to agree that it was his own doing and not yours. he'd snap, you'd merely stare, wondering what was wrong with him.
didn't you see? by the end of the week, joker would have gotham painted red if they didn't figure out his next move soon enough.
this was why jason was thankful your sister had come for the weekend to take you away. your sister, ashley, worked a long while away from gotham and it wasn't often that she came to see you. when she did, she turned her nose up at the sight. she never was a lover of gotham.
jason supposed, neither were you.
but as much as you hated the crime that circled gotham, the dirt on the street, the injustice of the entire city, you still loved it dearly. it was where you'd grown up and you just couldn't bring yourself to leave. so, you got a paying job, lived in the smallest of apartments where you spent most of your time with your lover. and if you and jason weren't there, you were spending time at the manor, wrapped up in jason's black sheets while he recited the books that lay on his night stand.
the trip ashley was taking you to would last a total of two days, the friday she came and the saturday after. you wouldn't be heading home until that sunday evening.
he hoped by then that he would have the case sorted out and it was safe enough for you to come home.
often times, he wondered what he was doing as red hood. perhaps it wasn't worth it anymore, would it be better to just let it all go? batman and nightwing could save gotham. he and you could live a normal, mundane, happy life. then he'd look at you in the midst of reading, glancing down at your closed eyes and pretty pouty lips. then, he'd be reminded of why he did what he did. to make gotham a better place for you and one day, for his family.
"you all set?" he questioned, shutting the trunk after lifting all your bags into the car. you'd told him you could do it yourself but he only insisted. he'd done enough to you in the past few days, you deserved this at least.
"yes." you grinned up at him, sweet as ever. even in he midst of chaos, you were the sweetest he'd ever seen. "apex grove awaits us!" you glanced to your sister who was sat in the car, leaning out the window with an ugly green suncap on her head apex grove written in yellow writing.
"it's gonna be the best weekend ever!" she was whooping in the car causing you to giggle at her antics. it would be the best weekend ever, for her, that was if she remembered any of it after she got shitfaced two nights in a row.
jason was not unfamilliar to your sister's drinking habits. but he thought what harm, it wasn't as if you were stupid enough to get dragged into it too. "you have fun, okay? not too much fun."
you listened to him huff out a laugh. "i will." before moving forward to let your head fall on his chest. hugging jason was what you assumed hugging clouds felt like. though you'd never experience it, you could still dream. "'m gonna miss you." you mumbled, only loud enough for the man to hear.
even during arguments, you were the only one that truly saw him.
you never blamed him for his short temper or his aggrivation he felt during cases like these. you only moved with caution, letting him know you were there. you were something he would be eternally grateful for.
"i'll miss you too, sweetheart." he mumbled back, pretty eyes glowing in the little sunlight that gotham got.
"bleh!" your sister yelled, rolling her eyes. "come on, y/n! we're gonna be late for the dinner reservation!"
"okay, bye." you reached up, kissing him on the lips ever so gently. "love you."
"love you too." watching as you made your way towards the passenger seat giddily. "take care of her!" placing his hands on his hips as though he were a mother.
"bye jason!" your sister only yelled back in response causing his brows to crease even further. was she trying to make him go grey in his prime? nevertheless, he waved towards your window until your sister's range rover left through the wayne manor's gates.
while watching them close on the way out, he felt a certain tightness in his chest. worry. he worried for you, worried that something would happen to you while you were gone. then he reassured himself that here was where the trouble was. if anything, he should be thankful you were anywhere but here.
you'd given jason a key to your apartment. you'd always insisted he'd take one anyway but he never did, you soon learned that was because he sort of liked coming through your window, grin on his face as you jumped sheepishly with a fright.
now, however, the key was forced into his back pocket.
you'd told him he'd better stay at yours for at least the nights, reassuring him that this whole joker business would get sorted out as it always did. you told him that whatever he was to do, he was at least to get sleep in your apartment and not stay cooped up in the manor wondering where joker will land next.
and he really wanted to make you happy, truly.
but it was now sunday and they were no closer than they were before.
bruce was injured, heavily so, from the joker's last attack. alfred had all but bedbound him, forcing him onto the lush mattress that costs more than your apartment complex put together.
so for the most part, it was just dick and jason on this one. tim was away and damian wasn't trusted on something so severe without the guidance of bruce.
alfred popped in once or twice to deliver food and assure that they were getting the rest and nutrition that they needed.
however, all the brothers could do was think the entire events over and look for clues. "three wheels on fire." dick's hands were clasped in his lap while he sat by the computers. "that's what he said, why didn't he show?"
the men had thought for sure that the joker would have struck at the fun fair. gotham was throwing one and there happened to be exactly three ferris wheels. "i don't know." leaning his face onto his hand that was propped onto the table. a map lay atop it. "maybe it was to throw us off his trail?"
"no chance!" dick quickly shut him down as he stood, pacing the cave. "maybe something went wrong. maybe he messed up. three wheels on fire, i mean, that was his chance! what else could he have been talking about." seconds passed before dick practically had a light bulb appear over his head. "a car? three cars?"
"that could be any three cars." jason waved him off. "how on earth would we figure out who? besides, three random civilians? don't you think it's a little too.... theatrical for three civilians?"
dick slumped back into his chair. "the joker does love his theatrics."
and jason had to agree with that. his eyes glanced down to the map, scanning it, until... "dick." his head turned. "hand me that red marker?" doing as he was told, dick handed jason the red marker that he used to scribble little dots against the page.
in confusion, the older boy watched him. he watched as fear suddenly took over his face, draining him to a ghostly while colour. dick hadn't seen jason scared of many things but whatever he had just uncovered... that was enough fear for a lifetime. "talk to me jaybird."
he swallowed thickly, already standing. "everywhere the joker's hit has been in pathway's through towns. every dot on the page is where he hit."
dick shook his head. "no, no, he didn't hit there." bulky finger lingering on the last spot on the page.
"no." he shook his head. "but it's the only dot that would connect the full circle. apex grove. it's where y/n is." the words came out sort of like a whisper, a whisper of pure fear.
"no, no, okay? you can't go off of some silly circle drawing, i mean, how do you know she's even in a car right now?" his hands were on jay's shoulders, trying to keep him steady in all his attempts. but jason's mind had already been clouded by fear and that enough had it made up.
"she's coming home tonight."
"that still doesn't prove anything!"
"dick." his face stern and steady. "if anything happens to her," voice cracking ever so softly. "if anything happens to her, i won't forgive myself."
dick swallowed too, realising perhaps jason was right. and even if he wasn't, was it a situation he was willing to put your life on the line for? "okay, let's go."
"it's so dark." you giggled, glancing out the window. you were... tispy, you could say. thing is, you'd been the sober one for friday and saturday night so ashley decided you were going to drink at least one night so she decided why not now, it wasn't as if you had to drive back to gotham, she had that handled.
"yeah." she chuckled. "tends to happen when the sun goes down." you hummed, sitting back up. you weren't exactly drunk, everything was just buzzing a little. "i didn't wanna ask because i didn't wanna ruin the whole night or anything but what was going on with you and jason?"
"what do you mean?" you questioned, turning your head to her while laying it against the seat. tiredness consumed you whole and while you'd loved this little getaway with your sister, you were thankful to be sleeping in your apartment bed tonight.
she shrugged her shoulders, eyes set on the dark road ahead. "i don't know, thought there was a little tension or something."
"we had a little fight." you admitted, absentmindedly gazing out the window. "but it's okay, all couples fight, right?" you couldn't tell her why you'd fought because that would include telling her about the fact that he worked with batman against the joker and that didn't seem like a great way to tell her.
"oh yeah, you should see me and theo." theo was her husband, the father to her kid, teddy, it was supposed to be sort of like theo but you didn't know if that was how it actually sounded. "we fight all the time."
"but you love him." you added.
"oh yeah, to bits." grinning and for a split second, glancing at you. "and as a girl in love, i can tell when other people are in love. and you and jason are just... soulmates." you huffed out a little laugh. "no, seriously, i've never seen two people so in love. i mean, all through highschool, i really thought you were gonna end up a crazy old cat lady."
"i do like cats."
"mm, always did."
BANG !
jason swore he broke every speed limit known to man, he didn't care. he couldn't care. dick waited until the motorbike slowed to a stop.
the men discarded the vehicles before stepping onto the road, staring in shock.
in the darkness of the night, a range rover could be made out, lights still on, though it appeared only one was working. it had been flipped on it's backside, one wheel discarded on the other side of the road. what had hit them? jason had no idea but what he did know was that there was a kind of ringing in his ear, fear.
"is that them, jason?!" it wasn't the first time dick had yelled out the question.
though his voice suddenly brought him back to life, his brows knitted. "the car's not on fire." he mumbled, confused. "dick, the car isn't on fire."
"oh shit." instinctively taking a step back. "it's gonna blow up."
the words should have registered in jason's mind to get the fuck out of there. instead, he ran towards the car.
he heard the faint yell of "jason!" from behind him. but there was only one thing on jason's mind as of now. and that was you.
he found you quick enough, popping off the door with his strength instead of wasting any more time. he could see you flipped in the passenger seat, your sister next to you. even when blood dripped from your forehead and your nose, gash against your hairline, you looked almost peaceful, as if you were only sleeping.
it caused genuine fear in him. jason swore he'd never been so scared.
knowing that at any moment the car could explode, he grabbed your limp body with ease, carrying it until you were a safe enough distance from the car and setting you down on the ground.
"y/n? baby, can you hear me?" dick watched as his baby brother held his limp girlfriend in his arms. "y/n, wake up. wake up!" as if in some distant world, you'd heard him, your eyes slowly peeled themselves awake. "there you are, there you are, huh?" though a laugh emitted his mouth, there were tears in the corner of your boyfriends eyes.
confusion washed over you, eyes hazy. "where am i?" but before you could receive an answer, everything came flooding back and you began sitting up, turning your head. "where's ashley?"
you were leaning on your arm, the other had a wound soaking through your shirt.
the men didn't respond, glancing to one another. going in there meant risking their lives. and sure, they risked their lives every day for the people of gotham but that car could blow at any minute. "where is she?" you practically cried, eyes turning to the flipped car behind jason. "she's still in there?!"
"y/n, listen―"
you cut dick off, trying to stand. "no! no! i have to get her!"
jason held you though it didn't take much, your body already weak. "sweetheart, the car is gonna blow, we can't risk you―"
"i have to save her! get off!" as much as you tried to writhe against him, it worked at no avail. "jason, get off me! jason!" dick's heart pained as jason's hand soothed the back of your head, pushing it against his shoulder.
BANG !
you swore you screamed, you heard a scream, you think. it was all really hard to remember. you clawed at jason, crying into his redhood suit shoulder, sobbing horrendously as you watched the car that held your sister burst into flames.
jason held you, not uttering a word and watching dick flee the scene, most likely in suit of finding the joker. he could only hold you close, listening you scream the word 'no' on repeat.
"i know, i know." he swore he could feel his own eyes muddling with the same glassy tears that yours were covered with. "i'm sorry, i'm so sorry."
at some point, you turned your eyes away from the explosion, face in jason's chest. you no longer fought against him, crying so loudly as he held your wrists against him, trying everything in his will to pick the pieces of you up. but in some way, he felt as though he'd caused them.
"she's gone." you sobbed out violently against him. "she's gone." the words repeated in your brain. you'd lost many people to gotham but never did you think you'd lose her, anyone but her.
"baby, you're bleeding." blood covered your hands and his, practically dripping down your face. "we need to get you to a hospital."
but you were beyond the point of caring, blubbering with few whimpers between. all you could think was your pretty sister, a husband and a kid, burned away in an explosion. she was gone and she was not coming back. "i- i can't." hyperventilating out the words. "i can't l-leave."
"i got you." you felt him help you off the stone ground, your knees weak. though nothing really registered, a ringing in your ears. even hours later, he kept repeating the same words. "i got you. i got you." sitting on the hospital bed next to you while you sat with a sullen look in your eyes. you were far away, that much was obvious but no longer stained with the vicious blood.
"she's gone." it came out much calmer now, though tears still coated your glassy red eyes. "why didn't you take her and not me?" though it was a stupid question.
even in your clouded mind you knew that if he could do it all over again, he wouldn't change a thing.
"i had to save you." he answered.
when he saw you were in that flipped over car, knowing there was a chance he could have blown up with you, he took it anyway, grabbing your limp body without hesitation.
he'd rather die than let something happen to you.
and in this case, he'd rather let someone else die than any harm to come to you. and that was simply something he wasn't afraid to admit.
he could lose. he had lost. he lost almost everything from his family to the world around him. but he couldn't lose you. no, anything but you.

No, no, no, no, no! I rush through the rubble, pushing through every and anything in my way. After six months of searching, six months of watching the Joker beat them, six months of watching what he's done to her, six months of nothing but them in my thoughts they can't be in here. Jason can't be in there. Y/N can't be in there. They can't be dead because of me.
My lungs scream as I breathe in the ash and smoke, but I can't let it stop me. I have to find them. I have to find my robins. I have to find my robins alive.
Despite my pleas to all the gods I don't believe in, I don't get them answered. I push over part of the fallen ceiling, my worst nightmares coming alive once I get it moved. Jason is curled up around Y/N, clinching her to his chest, even in death. Their blood mixes, soaking into their suits, into the rumble, and Y/N's beautiful hair. The same beautiful hair I tied a bow into the last morning I saw her.
"Master Bruce?" Alfred calls through the coms. "Progress report?" His voice cracks at the second word, squeezing my heart even more.
"I've... they've been located." I'll never forgive myself for this, but Dick's grudge against me will still last longer.
—————————
I don't even know why I agreed to this. I swore off Batman, Gotham, fucking Bruce two years ago. Yet, here I am, looking over the stupid citizens of Gotham as he licks his wounds. I know why I'm doing it; because Alfred asked, because Alfred didn't want Bruce on patrol with an injury, because I can't say no to Alfred.
Bruce's newest Robin is perched up on the ledge next to me as he rattles on about something. I don't know what he's saying or even care. I know I shouldn't hate the kid; Bruce's actions aren't his fault but what the fuck Bruce? Jason and... their blood wasn't even shed yet, and Bruce had replaced them. Replaced them with this kid that won't fucking shut up. "A part of being stealthy is being quiet," I hiss out, my words dipped in venom more than I intended them to.
"Oh, right, sorry," Tim mumbles, obeying orders and falling silent. I close my eyes before taking a few deep breaths, making sure to exhale slowly to calm myself. "Nightwing-"
"Quiet," I hiss again, trying to focus on my breathing so I don't misplace any more of my anger onto this kid.
     "Ya, I know, but-"
"Robin! What? What's so important?" I bark at him, snapping my eyes open and turning towards him.
"I think there's someone following the lady down there," he whispers, pointing towards the sidewalk across from us.
"What?" I ask, snapping my eyes towards the direction he's pointing. He's right, a younger-looking woman is walking down the street, her skirt flowing around her legs as she walks, her long dress coat doing the same. Hidden in the shadows a couple steps behind the girl is a big figure. They slither behind the girl, making sure to keep pace with them. "I'm going to investigate, you stay up here as backup," I mumble, getting to my feet as I think of how to sneak up on the stalker.
"Yes, Sir!" Tim chirps, skirring to his feet to follow me along the rooftops.
"Don't call me sir," I order, before letting myself fall from the roof we've been perched on. I land gently on my feet, standing up to glance around, keeping track of the shadows and which ones will be best to hide in.
"Yes, Si- er - Nightwing," Tim starts over the coms before correcting himself. "What's the plan?"
The plan is to get it through the citizens of Gotham's heads not to walk around the streets at night. "I'm going to follow them on ground level in case the suspect makes any rash movements. You follow along on the rooftops. Make sure to stay silent and keep pace. Do not move unless I say so."
"Okay," Tim mumbles, pokes of his red suit coming in and out of view as he creeps along the ledges. I keep myself engulfed in shadows stretching out from the walls.
"Once the lady is safe somewhere I'll take action to get this guy off the street. Got it?"
"Got it," he calls over the coms again, ducking behind a vent as he waits for me to catch up a bit. So much for staying on pace. Despite Tim's eager steps, I stay parallel to the subjects, the only thing suppurating us is the thin street. Or at least I do until the lady turns around a corner.
Her stalker follows, the corner streetlight exposing him for a second as he jumps between shadows. He's a bigger guy, easily over six feet and having anywhere from fifty to seventy-five pounds on me. It's impressive that he manages to stay hidden so well. Almost Batman impressive. From the glimpse I got, I also managed to see a red helmet covering his face which doesn't help me much to identify the culprit.
"That's not good," Tim mumbles over the intercom, his voice laced with worry. "That's the Red Hood."
"Red Hood? Is that the crime lord that's been piling up bodies faster than the Joker?" I whisper back, annoyance filling me up. So much for Alfred's 'it should be an easy night' speech.
"Ya, that's the one," he answers, the worry only building up more in his tone. I stay tucked on the corner of the street, making sure this Red Hood guy isn't looking before I dart across the street. I make quick - but silent - paces as I sneak up on him. I need to jump in before this lady becomes his next victim.
"Are you in place?" I ask, glancing up for a quick second to make sure the sidekick made it across the street too.
     "Yes."
"Okay, change of plans, we can't wait this out and act later." Tim stays silent, waiting for my orders. "The next alley we pass, I'm going to pull him into it to take him down. The lady will scurry off as I handle it. As she's running off you tail her and make sure she gets somewhere safe, got it?"
The line stays silent for a while before Tim's voice peeps up, "Yes, sorry, got it. I forgot you couldn't see me nod." What the hell kid? You've been Robin for almost three years now and you still make beginner mistakes.
I shake the thought out of my head, focusing on the situation in front of me. The next alley is about five paces in front of the lady, making it about ten for the Hood guy and fifteen for me. I quicken my steps some, ending up right behind him as he passes the alley. I grab a hold of the man, tugging him to the right. Hood skids, his weight playing against him and causing him to fall hard. The silent street is filled with the sound of his helmet clashing with metal.
"What the hell?!" The guy yells, quickly jumping back onto his feet. "Fucking Nightwing," he mumbles, shaking his head before stepping towards me.
"Hood," I call back, lifting my fists to prepare myself and to cover my face.
"Nightwing!" Tim calls over the com.
"Not right now," I hiss, ducking as Red Hood swings at me.
"Just move aside Wing, it's not what you think," Hood shouts, going to swing at me again.
I duck again, going for his feet as I'm down here. "You're a notorious killer chasing after a girl, what else am I supposed to think?" He sees through my attack a little late, managing to avoid falling but he stumbles. He falls against one of the dumpsters causing the alleyway to be filled with a loud crack again, but this time it's paired with the screeching of his gun barrels sliding against the dumpster.
"Nightwing!" Tim calls again causing anger to boil in me.
"You're supposed to be tailing the lady," I answer back, pulling my Escrima sticks off my back as I approach my newest sparring partner.
"I am, she's heading-" Tim starts, but I don't catch the rest of his sentence. While I was distracted with the newest Robin, Red Hood ducked down and swiped my feet out from under me. Dumb little shit using my tricks against me. He starts walking towards me pulling his gun out of its holster as he nears.
"What do I do?" Tim calls, worry laced into his words once again.
I reach for my nearest stick, debating if I should throw it at his head to buy me time or try another leg sweep. "I don't know Robin, whatever you think is best." I decide on the stick, if it doesn't get me enough time to get up, it'll at least aid me in knocking him over. Hood's gun lowers as he stands over me, the barrel pointed at my forehead.
I tug my hand forward, setting myself up to throw it at him when I'm cut off. "Lady don't!" Tim's voice screeches out, filling my ears through the com as well as echoing through the alleyway.
"Don't shoot!" A female voice yells, thin fingers wrapping around the barrel of the gun and pushing it away from my head, up towards the sky. Before I know what's going on the alley is filled with the echoes of a bullet being released from it. I stay frozen, my mask going wide as I take in the scene in front of me.
The lady from earlier is standing next to me, her hand still around the barrel and her arm stretched up as it's pointed into the sky. Her hair is in two buns on top of her head, the H/C color of it reminding me of Y/N's hair; well besides the streak of grey wrapped through her left bun. I don't need to be thinking of Y/N right now, that'll only distract me from saving this lady. "What the fuck is your problem, you daft cow?" The lady yells, ripping the gun out of Hood's hand.
Daft cow? Okay, this girl or Bruce or even Robin has to be fucking with me. There is no way this random ass woman uses the same insult as Y/N. Much less the same British insult she picked up from Alfred. "Don't stand there and look dumb at me. What do you think you're doing?" She repeats, her hands pointing the gun towards the ground, her fingers nimble as she works to drop the magazine.
"I... hi," Red Hood spits out, seeming just as lost as me.
"Hello," the lady answers back, handing the empty gun back to him before turning towards me.  What the fuck? The face looking down at me is the spitting image of Y/N... well a slightly older Y/N. "Here you go," she says kneeling to hand me the magazine.
My focus stays trapped in her eyes. They're shiny and bright and the same E/C color Y/N's are - were. Y/N's were. Because she's dead. Unlike Y/N's eyes, this girl has flickers of green around her irises. "Thank you?" I say, the words coming out as a question instead of a statement. I sit up, moving slowly towards her to take the magazine being held out to me.
"You're welcome!" She chirps out with a smile. The same feeling of warmth I get - got - from Y/N's smile fills my chest, loosening some of the knots of stress. "What are you two fighting about anyway?" She asks, standing back up.
It can't... she's not... "How?" I spit out, skirring to my feet.
"How what?" Tim asks, appearing at my side.
Y/N's - she's not Y/N - this lady's face falls as Robin comes into her sight. Her jaw clenches, eyes going hard making the green stand out more. "I got to go," she whispers, her tone throwing imaginary daggers alongside her words.
She goes to walk past us, but she's stopped by Red Hood grabbing her arm. My hand falls to my belt, my fingertips grazing a bat-a-rang as Tim does the same. "Let... let me walk you home," he whispers, barely loud enough to meet my ears.
"What the fuck is with all you superheroes?" She asks, shaking off Hood's hold on her as she glances around the three of us. "Two days ago, I had a frantic Batman shoving hundred-dollar bills into my hand. You- " she starts, tossing her hand towards Hood "-have been trailing me for three blocks, you-" her hand shifts from Hood to Robin "make me unbearably angry for god knows why, and you, you fucking daft cow belong in Blüdhaven, not Gotham so why are you here?" Her hands fall to her hips as her right one pops out some. Her eyes are still hard and beautiful, and I so badly want her to be my Y/N. "Are you going to answer me?" She sasses, her head tilting as she looks up at me.
"I..." My words stick in my throat as I look at her. I lift my hands some, their shaking very noticeably. They don't stop shaking as I place them on her shoulders. She's warm and real and right here. Her eyes soften, shifting to confusion instead of anger. "Y/N?" I finally weasel out.
"Good guess," she says a smile crossing her face as her hands fall from her sides.
"Y/N?" I repeat, my heartbeat filling my ears.
"That's my name, don't wear it out," she teases, shrugging my hands off her shoulders before slipping past me.
My mind screams at me to walk after her but my body refuses to move. It takes a second for my mind to clear and for my eyes to adjust to the guy standing in front of me. The Hood has barely moved an inch this whole time. "What's next? You going to end up being Jason Todd?" I half-heartedly joke, a broken laugh falling from my mouth.
Red Hood hums a bit, turning his head in the direction Y/N went. He starts walking that way but ends up shifting to the left instead of the right. Before turning the turned he stops, his head turns, peering over his shoulder at me. "We both know that Y/N being alive isn't the only secret Bruce Wayne is hiding from the world."
The words cut through me as he disappears. "Should we go after him?" Tim asks, pulling on my sleeve some.
"We're going back to the Manor," I mumble, turning on my heels. Bruce has a lot of explaining to do.
———————————
My heart beats loud in my ears as I sit in my patrol car. I tried talking to Bruce about Y/N but he just shut down like he always does. I've kept on his case for the past couple of days but if he doesn't go silent, he starts yelling about nonsense so he's a dead end.
I talked it over - both Y/N being alive and Jason being the Red Hood - with Alfred. It turns out that Bruce has known about Red Hood being Jason since shortly after the first time they had a run-in. He did some digging and found out the Al Ghuls had a hand in his revival - and his sudden turn to valiance.
Also, it turns out that he found out about Y/N two days before we did - like she said. Alfred said that Bruce believes Y/N doesn't remember much from before her death, or at least is pretending not to. Apparently, she had no idea who Batman or Bruce Wayne was. Personally, if I were in her situation, I would pretend not to know who he was too. Since finding out about all this I've been super pissed at Bruce and have refused to talk to him, let alone step foot in Gotham.
Despite this, the universe has other plans. Gotham was short officers - shorter than usual - so my Captain back in Blüdhaven sent out a group of us to help pick up the slack. The whole time I've been here, I've been on edge. What if I see her again? What if I don't see her again? Being given the job of patrol doesn't help much either. All I get to do is sit here and wait; wait for someone to speed or try to mug someone else or try to do any other minor things. Sitting here and waiting doesn't help my thoughts to stop circling.
I should talk to Y/N. I need to talk to her. What if she doesn't remember me? What if she does? Is she taking care of herself? How long has she been back in town? Is she alive because of the Laza pit too? If she is alive because of Al Ghul, did she serve time in the League of Assassins like Jason?
These thoughts aren't any good for me. At least not while I'm on duty. I need to leave the distractions for the small time between being Officer Grayson and being Nightwing. Maybe some coffee would help. I decide to climb out of the cruiser, making sure to lock it before I start walking down the street.
Around the corner from where I parked is a small twenty-four-seven cafe called Pamela's Cafe. It's always decked out in neon lights that stand out against the cloudy Gotham sky. We - Jason, Y/N, and me - used to go every night after patrol. It's one of the only businesses that have managed not to get burnt down or robbed into bankruptcy because their donuts are Joker's favorite. It's weird when you think about it but hey, at the end of the day, fed people - even villains - are grateful people.
I round the corner, doing an environment check as I continue the short walk. I look into the cafe's big windows as I walk past them. They seem pretty busy, but I'm not surprised. Their prices are low, their food is good, and milliners and villains alike boast about it.
The bell above the door jingles as I push the door open. "Welcome in Officer!" One of the workers chirps out. I nod at them, joining the line in front of the register.
"I still don't understand why there are different colors," A feminine voice pipes up from across the room. It's soft, soft enough not to disturb her neighbors. The voice rings through my head, sounding like bells to my ears.
A soft sigh follows her words. "The different colors are different element groups. Give me your notebook Y/N." I instantly recognize that voice. It belongs to Scarecrow - well Dr Crane. Before I can stop myself, I'm moving towards the voice. Is it my Y/N? If it is my Y/N, why is she talking to the scarecrow? Why is the scarecrow talking to her? Why the hell are they talking about elements?
It doesn't take long for the doctor to fall into my view, and in turn, in my pathway. He hasn't changed much from my Robin days. He's still scrawny as ever with thin, dirt-brown hair, and big owl glasses that expand the size of his eyes. "Now, the teal-colored ones are basic metal elements," the doctor starts, bending his head down, probably to write in Y/N's notebook he asked for.
As I come up to the booth they're sitting in, Y/N - my Y/N - falls into my sight. Her eyes are still a mix of the natural E/C and flickers of green as she turns from the doctor to me. "Hello Officer," she says, a lop-sided smile on her face.
"How can we help you?" Crane says, standing up from his seat and attempting to squeeze between Y/N and me. It doesn't work very well. I'm a slim man but Scarecrow makes me look like a bodybuilder.
"I just..." My thoughts escape me as I keep my focus locked on Y/N. "Just wanted to buy Y/N a coffee," I squeeze out, smiling back at her.
The doctor glances between Y/N and me a few times before turning towards her. "Do you want him to buy you a coffee? I'll make him go away if you don't." Sure, you will, Doc. It's not like I've been whooping your ass since I was nine.
"I don't mind. It's not very often a hot officer offers to buy me a drink," Y/N teases, propping her head on her hand as she continues to look at me with her loopy smile. She doesn't remember who I am, she doesn't remember who I am, she does not remember who I am.
Crane looks me over once more before nodding towards Y/N. "I'll stop by later tonight to check over your chem homework, okay?"
"Mkay," Y/N hums out, pulling her notebook to her side of the table. Scarecrow keeps his eyes locked on us as he slowly walks out of the cafe and continues to until he can no longer peer into the windows. "So, Officer-?"
"Grayson," I offer, sliding into the booth seat across from her.
"Bruce Wayne's Grayson?" She asks, curiosity filling her eyes, her head lifting and her fingers lacing together as she stares at me.
"Ya," I say nervously, glancing around the cafe. "Do you want a coffee?" Of course not, Y/N doesn't like the taste of coffee, she always thought it was-
"Coffee is too bitter. Do you mind if I get a Vanilla Frappuccino instead?"
My eyes snap back at her, drinking in her smile, and her hair, and her beautiful eyes. God, her beautiful eyes that are somehow even prettier with the flickers of green mixed in. "Ya that's fine," I mumble, glancing at the line before looking back at her.
She giggles a bit before propping herself up on the booth. She turns around, scanning the coffee bar. "Hey, Addison?" She calls out, getting a 'wassup?' in response. "Do you mind making me a vanilla frap and-"
Y/N cuts herself off, looking over her shoulder at me. "Uh... just a black coffee and maybe a donut."
"- and a black coffee with a chocolate chip muffin?"
"Do you want me to use your daily discount?" Addison asks, getting another giggle out of Y/N.
"No, Officer Grayson is buying me a coffee," Y/N responds, her words bubbling out of her. She turns back around, shifting back to a sitting position before talking to me. "You don't want a donut right now. They're way better after their first made so you got to get one either at three a.m. or three p.m. I've never been here at three a.m. but for some reason, I just know they're better than, you know?"
"Ya, I know," I breathe out, my mind running a mile a minute. Does she remember coming here with me? Does she remember me? Or is it just her conscious knowing that she's supposed to know these things? Is she getting her memories back? How long until she remembers who I am? Who Alfred is? Who Bruce is? Does she remember what the Joker did to her? What he did to Jason? "So..." I peep out, watching her watching me, "Tell me about yourself."
Y/N hums softly, shifting her eyes around. "I can't really tell you about myself because I don't know myself."
     "What can-"
"Here you go!" The Addison girl struts over, cutting me off as she sets Y/N's coffee down. "Officer Grayson," she coos, taking her time to set down my coffee and my muffin. "Call me if you need anything, okay?" She adds, continuing her cooing as she gives me my bill.
I glance down at it. Eight dollars, not too bad for two coffees and a muffin. "As I was saying," I start again, turning towards Y/N, "What can you tell me about yourself?"
Y/N's a bit distracted, her smile gone and her eyes following the celebrity hopper as she slides back behind the counter. "Um... I hate the taste of coffee."
I chuckle at that a bit. "Well, ya, I know that already." She turns back towards me, blessing me with the sight of her eyes again. "Do you have a favorite color?" It's orange, dark orange like Wally's hair.
"I really like orange. Not like sunset orange, I think it's too light. More of a copper orange." My heart pings at her words but I try my best not to let it show on my face. "I don't remember much of... anything," Her voice is soft on the last word. "But I do have a fuzzy memory of the color."
"Ya? What's the memory?" I push, picking up my cup. When I glance down at it, I see the waitress's number scribbled on it. I hate Gotham.
Y/N takes a second, closing her eyes as if that'll help clear up her memories. "During it, I was on the beach I think... Maybe just in a pool, I don't know. But I was in a body of water and an older boy - like way older - was holding me. I think he was teaching me how to swim, I don't know," Y/N's eyes snap open, a small smile on her face. "I don't remember much of it; I just know his hair is or was orange and the color makes me feel comfortable." I know what memory she's talking about.
Bruce took in Y/N when he took in Jason. Jay made it very clear that they were a packaged deal and Bruce didn't mind. He wasn't kidding either. He and Y/N ran the Gotham streets together for half their lives.
It didn't take long to figure out that neither of them knew how to swim so the team decided to take a day off and go swimming at the Happy Harbor beach. It took most of the day to get Jason unattached from Y/N but somehow Wally managed too.
Walles took her into the water and kept a hold of her as he swam around and eventually managed to get her to swim a bit on her own. At the time Wally was 20 were as Y/N and Jay were 12 so I'm not surprised she remembers him being so much older than her; it probably felt like that at the time.
It's one of my favorite memories. It's one I look at every day. I have a picture of Y/N wrapped up in Wally's arms as they're swimming on my desk at work.
"I have a question, but you don't have to answer it," I say, being careful with my words.
"It's about my memory loss, ya?" She asks, her smile falling as she sips on her Frappuccino. I hum a yes, watching her body language for a response. I don't want to make her uncomfortable.
"Well, there's not much to tell. Six months ago, I just... woke up in Gotham Hospital. The doctors say that I probably ended up in the crosshairs of Batman and one of the Gotham goons since I was littered with injuries and had quite a few wounds to my head. They also said I'm suffering from temporary dementia and that my memories will - hopefully - eventually come back."
"How do you know your name is Y/N?" I ask, trying to push the images and videos from Y/N and Jay's death out of my head.
"Well, they did a blood test and tested it against Gotham records. Apparently, I used to be quite the troublemaker. When they did my blood test, they found the DNA of some dude named Jason Todd on me. I have no clue who that is but apparently, we used to get into trouble together all the time. I googled him and... well, he's been dead for a couple of years. It turns out he was a ward of Bruce Wayne, just like you. Did you know him?"
My heart pings again for Y/N. "Ya, I knew him," I answer, pulling my eyes away from her face. If I look at her too much longer, I'll end up crying. It must have been so hard for her. It must still be so hard for her. Waking up and not knowing who you are. Getting a lead to someone you were once close to and then finding out they're dead. Walking around living your life not knowing anything about yourself.
Y/N hums, pulling my eyes back to her. Her hands are busy putting her school supplies back into her bag. "Well, I hate to dine and dash but I have a speech class to get to. I don't know if you'd be open to it, but could we meet up again? I'd like to get to know about this Jason guy. I'm pretty sure he was important to me."
My heart squeezes in my chest again. Jason was important to Y/N. They loved each other so much. The thought of lying to her crosses my mind. I've adored Y/N forever, but I could never compete with the history she has with Jay, so I never tried.
But now? She doesn't even know the guy. I could lie through my teeth and tell her that Jason left her behind after Bruce adopted him. With dementia - even temporary dementia - there's never a promise that any, let alone all her memories will come back. But I can't do that to her. Even if her memory never clears, I wouldn't be able to live a life of a lie with her.
"Ya, I'd like that," I say, placing a smile on my face. I pull out my notebook, quickly scratching down my phone number and address before handing the paper to her.
"Thank you for the coffee," she says, a smile huge on her face as she looks down at the yellow paper.
"You're welcome," I answer back, my heart picking up some as she smiles before it falls back down as she walks away. "Y/N?" I call after her, quickly throwing down a ten before jumping to my feet. When I get near her I grab her arm so she can't get any further away. Once she's stopped I drop her from my hold. I shouldn't have grabbed her like that.
"Ya?" She asks, looking up at me with those big, beautiful eyes. I could spend the rest of my days looking into them, counting all the green strips that have become recently present in them.
"You... Bruce... Bruce Wayne and his butler, Alfred, knew Jason quite well too. I'm... I'm going to call him and tell him I talked to you, okay? Feel free to go to the manor at any time and talk to them too, ya?"
"Okay, thank you, Officer Grayson," Y/N chirps out, her smile growing before she slides out of the cafe.
Bruce doesn't deserve this. He doesn't deserve to see Y/N alive, doesn't deserve to see her well and happy and breathing. But Y/N does. She deserves to know who she is. She deserves to know there are still people who love her and care about her.
My heart races as I walk out of the cafe, pulling out my phone on the way. My fingers shake so badly as I push the call button that I have to double-check to make sure I push it. "Hey Bird-Boy," Wally says, his voice as excited as usual.
"Hey Walles, I think you should sit down. I... have some really good news."
———————————
My heart jumps when my cell rings. I'm quick to grab it, a smile playing on my face when I see Y/N's contact. "Hello."
"Hello!" Her voice is as cheerful as ever when I answer her call. "I think I have the right building, but your call button doesn't work."
A couple of hours after we met up, she called me to set up another one. It was the longest week of my life, waiting to see her again, waiting to get the chance to show her who she was. "Oh, ya, I forgot about that. I'll be down in a second."
"See you soon, Officer," She teases before the line is hung up.
I'm quick to rush out my door and down the stairs to the apartment building entrance. My excitement makes it a bit of a struggle to open the door, but I do manage to get it open. Today Y/N has her hair down with a headband bow-looking thing in it. Her eyes are still super bright, causing my breath to hick a bit when I take them in. "Are you going to let me in, or do you want me to melt away in the rain?"
"No! Come in, please," I rush out, stepping aside so Y/N can get some shelter from the rain. She smiles a bit, sliding in next to me in the hallway. "Umm... this way," I mumble, gently grabbing her wrist to pull her towards my apartment. Y/N pitter patters behind me, her head shifting around to take in the hallway. Not that there's much to take in.
I let go of her when we get to my apartment so that I can hold the door open for her again. She says a small 'thank you' before walking through the door frame. Y/N reminds me of a drop of sunlight as she walks around the living space. Breathing life into the dark, gloomy apartment. I watch as she walks around, taking in the small kitchen before shifting her attention to the living room. "How long have you lived here?" She asks, her fingertips running over the different books packed onto my bookcase.
"About six years," I whisper, scared if I speak too loudly that this will all turn out to be some fantasy I've credited in my head. I take slow steps towards her, stopping close enough behind her that if she moves, she'll brush up against me. Y/N doesn't seem to mind though, her attention staying on the shelves.
"What's this?" she asks, tipping one of the photo albums I have so she can look at it better.
"It's a photo album," I answer, wrapping my fingers around the spine of it, slightly grazing her in the process. Y/N tilts her head a bit at the touch but doesn't say anything. "Do you want to look through it? It might help with your memories."
"Maybe," She murmurs, sliding out from in front of me. Her back rubs against me as she moves, warmth enveloping me as she moves. I watch as she walks over to the couch, making herself comfy on it as she waits for me to follow.
I follow after her, photo album in hand as I sit down next to her. Her eyes light up when I place it on her lap and open it, causing the green flickers in them to remind me of emerald silvers.
Her hands are gentle as she flips through the book. She stops now and again, taking a second to take in the photo and think it over. She flips the page again, starting the Happy Harbor Swimming Day section. Thanks to M'gann there are about a hundred pictures from the day.
"That's the guy! From my memory," Y/N cheers, pointing to a copy of the picture I have on my desk. "That's Wally." I can feel hope clawing up my chest as I try to push it down. "He's Kid Flash, ya? Oh shit, I don't think I'm supposed to say that." Maybe it's okay to have a bit of hope after all.
"Don't worry, I already know he's Kid Flash," I reassure her, wrapping my arm around her neck to pull her closer to me.
Y/N's eyes flicker up at me before turning back to the photos. "My memories are coming back faster than they have been," she says, her eyes flickering again.
     "That's a good thing."
She hums softly, flipping another page and taking in the pictures. "I'm remembering a lot about Jason, and you."
My chest tightens some, both hope and fear seeping in. None of us are perfect, especially those of us who serve the world as vigilantes. It leads to a lot of fear and stress and anger that likes to manifest and cause fights. I've picked my fair share of fights. With Bruce, with Alfred, with Jay, and Y/N. I don't want those to be the memories she remembers first or the only memories she could get back of me.
"Ya?" I finally squeeze out after a pause of silence. It feels like my heart falls out with the words.
"Mmhmm" she hums, flipping the page again. She's finally out of the beach day and is now looking through the photos from Jay's 13th birthday. "I remember calling you Wing all the time which is weird. Maybe? Maybe not since I remember Wally being Kid Flash. You're like super deep into the hero gig ya?"
     "Ya... ya I am."
     "Was I a hero?"
If my heart didn't fall out with my words before it sure as hell did now. It's going to kill me having to tell her everything, having to tell her how she died. "There's a lot I need to explain to you," I finally say, pulling the photo album off her lap and placing it on the table in front of us. Her eyes turn towards me and once again the flickers of green trap my attention. Tonight is going to be longer and more painful than any patrol I've ever done.

Hungry hands squeezed your hips and guided you along the growing length. Thirsty lips kissed your neck, eliciting soft whimpers from your throat.
He was supposed to help you study for the math test, but Jason couldn't help himself when he saw you so cute with those round glasses that made your face beautiful and your eyebrows furrowed as he explained.
In the silence, the library in the great Wayne mansion made your little whimpers seem loud.
"Sh... be quiet for me, huh?" Jason whispered in your ear "Alfred can find us here, we don't want that, do we?"
"No- Hm... we don't want that" You whispered back
"Good girl." Jason's lips crashed onto yours again. He raised one of his hands towards your breast and with the other he guided your hips on top of him.
Knocking on the door startled you both. You jumped off Jason's lap and back to your spot next to him on the couch.
"Master Todd, Miss YL" Alfred entered the library with a tray in his hands. "Master Bruce asked me to bring biscuits and tea. I hope I'm not disturbing your studies."
Alfred wasn't stupid and he was also a teenager once. With great elegance he held back his smile when he noticed the two teenagers with red cheeks and labored breaths.
"It's okay Alfred!" Jason tried his best to speak and smiled at the butler. "We were just finishing. Aren't we, Princess?"
"Yes..." You spoke with a low tone of voice and embarrassment. Alfred walks to the large table in front of the couch and sets the tray on top.
"Good. I'm leaving." Alfred looks at Jason with a warning look "Behave yourself, Master Todd."
As soon as Alfred left Jason sighed in relief and you started laughing.
"Why are you laughing?" Jason frowned and looked at you with amusement "Did you like being caught? huh?"
Jason climbed on top of you laying you on the couch. You stopped laughing and looked into his deep eyes.
"Does the idea of being caught turns you on?" Jason's nose ran across your neck.
"Jay... You need to finish teaching me- oh." You moan when you feel Jason suck on your sweet spot on your neck, leaving a mark.
"Teaching you? But teach you what? Be specific..." Jason purred "I can teach you many things."
"The math test." You managed to speak and Jason smiled.
"If you do well on this test next week. I’ll reward you” Jason winked at you and got up off of you.
He took the book in his hands.
"So, where were we?"
Tumblr media
"Run!" Jason was pulling your hand as you ran from Alfred.
Maybe stealing the cookies he had just taken out of the oven wasn't a good idea. You and Jason laughed as you ran inside the mansion.
"It was your idea!" You shouted to Jason in a breathless voice.
"But you like it!" Jason pulled you into one of the guest rooms and waited for Alfred to run past you two.
"But I don't agree-" Jason covered your mouth with his hand
"Shh..." Jason looked through the crack in the door and Alfred ran past and looked.
You and Jason started laughing when you realized you were safe. A kiss was planted on your forehead.
"I didn't think he would be so mad." You commented smiling
"Nah. He's not mad. Well." Jason giggled "He's mad at me, not you. You are the good one."
"You're the good one too, Jay." You rolled your eyes
Jason was so focused looking at you. He was memorizing everything. Your eyes, your nose, your mouth, your beautiful cheeks, everything. He was afraid of forgetting.
"I found you two!" Alfred's voice sounded from behind you two making you both startle.
"It was Jason's idea!" You said and Jason looked at you indignantly.
Tumblr media
It was Valentine's Day. It was already the third time you spent together. Holding hands and sincere smiles. Jason is happy.
"Princess..." Jason started to speak and you looked at him "I want to take you somewhere."
He wanted to take you to a place that was important to him. A place where he suffered. A place where he knew he needed to show you.
"Sure, Jay. Where is it?" Her sweet and gentle voice made his heart swell with love.
"Crime Alley. Where I was born and raised." Jason bit his lip as he spoke.
"If it's important to you. Take me there." You gave his hand a squeeze as a sign of support and assurance.
Jason nodded and began to guide you towards it. You two weren't that far away.
The walk was silent, but not in Jason's mind. He had been so fragile since he found out who his real mother was. He only took out his unresolved anger on patrols, but not on you. Jason was afraid of hurting you.
Upon arriving at the crime alley, Jason's eyes became sad.
"I lived there before Bruce adopted me." He pointed his finger at a hole beneath a fire escape in an old building.
"Oh Jay... I'm sorry." You looked at him. Jason's eyes had a window of tears ready to break and fall.
"My mother had died a few weeks ago, before the whole batman thing. I-..."
You placed your hands on his cheeks and made him look at you. Jason wasn't much taller than you, just a few inches.
The window of tears broke and Jason cried. You hugged him tightly and he hid his face in your neck. Soft sobs were left from the lips on your neck.
"It's okay now." You said lovingly as you ran your hands over his back "I'm here with you, I'll never leave you."
That was a promise. Jason knew that.
Your neck was wet with his tears. Little by little he calmed down and the sobs started to lessen. Knowing Jason, you knew he had been holding back for a long time to be able to cry like this.
"All good?" You asked softly in his ear and he murmured
"Mhm..." Jason's arms tightened around you in a deep hug. He can't lose you. "Thank you..."
"Don't need to thank me." You ran your hands through Jason’s hair and he shivered below of your fingers.
He loved having your hands in his hair, no matter what. This left him vulnerable and on his knees.
When he finally removed his face from your neck, he looked into your eyes. His beautiful face was red and his eyes were a little swollen, but still, there was your Jason.
Jason still had a cut on his lip from the previous patrol. Jason is so handsome.
"It wasn't a good idea to bring you here. I'm sorry, it was a dumb idea and-" You cut him off.
"It wasn't dumb." you ran your thumb over his cheek "I already told you. If it's important to you..."
"...It's important for you too." Jason added and you smiled.
Jason had his forehead next to yours when he felt a presence near you.
"Give me everything you have!" A gun was pointed at your head and Jason went on alert. A robber. Today was not his lucky day.
Your eyes widened in fright. But Jason held you tight. You were with Robin now.
"Give me the purse!" The man shouted at you, making you flinch. "And you give me your wallet and that watch, brat!"
"What if I don't want to?" Jason shouted coldly.
"Give me what I asked for or I'll-" Jason cut the robber off.
"Or what? you shoot me?" Jason lets go of you and quickly takes the robber's gun and breaks his hand, making him scream in pain. "You should think twice before pointing a gun at my girl!"
Jason saw red. All the anger that was stored in him was taken out on the man. Punches and butts of the gun were distributed in the face of the man who was begging Jason to stop. You were in shock, tears fell down your face. You had never seen Jason so violent.
"Jason, that's enough! You're going to kill him!" You finally managed to say and clarity came to Jason's mind.
He released the man. Hands with blood, face disfigured. The man was already unconscious. Jason looked at you and his heart sank. A frightened look was in your eyes. You were scared of him.
"Princess..." Jason whispered and looked at his hands. Blood, blood that wasn't his. He lost control in front of you. "I'm- I'm sorry-... I."
"Take me home." You managed to say "Now."
Fuck. Did you hate him? Did he lose you? Were you scared of him? Would you break up with him?
"Sure." He nodded and finally moved away from the man on the ground. He wasn't nearly dead, but he would survive.
Jason didn't touch you. He just accompanied you and together you ordered a taxi.
When Jason dropped you off at your house he didn't have the courage to look you in the eyes, he didn't have the courage to kiss you. He didn't want to see fear in you.
"Bye, Jay..." The nickname leaving your lips and a kiss left on his cheek made him feel more guilty. He didn't deserve your mercy. He was silent and didn't look at you.
You looked at him with a heavy and sad heart, but you knew he needed time.
"My window will be open." You said and got out of the taxi soon after watching him leave.
Jason didn't show up.
Jason was gone for two months.
You were worried. No messages or calls, not even a letter he wrote to you sometimes. Nothing.
After much agony you made up your mind. You went to the manor. But it was in vain. Jason didn't receive you. You tried several times. but it was always the same thing.
Your last stop was school. Jason had missed for two months, he wouldn't miss it that much. You waited, and there he finally was.
Jason looked horrible. There was a look below his eyes, a black eye, a cut on his lip and eyebrow.
He walked past you, completely ignoring you. You felt pain.
You pressed a hand to his chest. what happened to him?
You knew one thing. He couldn't escape from you in the literature class.
Your classes passed until you reached literature class. There he was, sitting in his usual seat and yours was empty. You quickly walked in and sat next to him.
You wanted to curse him, hit him, scream at him, kiss him and ask why he disappeared. But no, you wouldn't do that.
The class passed. Jason remained silent. You noticed him looking at you but when you turned to look back, he looked away and ignored you again.
You weren't putting up with it.
Class ended and Jason left first. You went after him. When you finally reached him, you grabbed his arm.
"What's gotten into you?!" were the first words that came out of his mouth. Everyone looked at you. "Where have you been?!"
"y/n, not here." He called you by your name. He doesn't call you that.
Jason held your hand and you went to a calmer place without an audience.
"Aren't you going to answer my questions?" You looked at him indignantly. He wouldn't look him in the eye. "Answer me, Jason!"
"I can't do it anymore, okay?!" Jason yells and finally looks you in the eye "This isn't going to work anymore!"
"What?..." You shake your head, "What do you mean? Jason, what does that mean?!"
"I'm breaking up with you." You can see the sadness in his eyes. He didn't want to do that.
"Jason, what happened in crime alley-" He interrupted you
"It wasn't supposed to happen. I shouldn't have taken you there."
"You disappear for two months and just tell me you want to break up with me without any explanation?!" Tears left your eyes "Wow, how brave of you!"
"Just... I can't anymore..." Jason shakes his head "Can..." he sighed "Can we just be friends?"
"Friends?" You shook your head
"Please."
"Goodbye, Jason."
"No, please!" He tried to take your hand. But with a tearful look, he let you go.
Little did you know that it really was goodbye.

Summary: Jason and y/n hate each other - or so they thought
TW: mild swearing, argument
Tumblr media
“Jason, you’re insufferable” you cry out to the figure on the roof of a building across from you.
“Woah, calm down there, sweetheart,” his voice resonated through the coms, “The old man isn’t going to like that you’re using our real names out in the field.”
You groan. If he were within distance, you would not have hesitated to smack the stupid smirk he’s most definitely sporting on his face. You swore you could hear his smugness through the coms.
“Fine, Robin” you gritted through your teeth, “You’re an absolute pain in my as-AH!”
Someone had grabbed your shoulders from behind and tauntingly pushed you towards the ledge of the rooftop. You whipped around to be met with the iconic red and green leotard Batman’s protege wore. A grappling hook trailed behind him, indicating he made his way over to you during your rant. You glare at him menacingly.
    “You could’ve killed me, idiot.”
He shrugged, “Maybe that was my goal.”
You throw your hands up in defeat, completely exasperated, “This is exactly what I mean. You’re insufferable, selfish- -”
“Selfish, now hold on,” he interjects, “Who was the one who had to swoop in and save your sorry ass from Penguin’s men?”
“I didn’t need your help,” you spat, “I was handling it perfectly fine on my own.”
“Yeah, just like how you handled it the last time when you ended up with a broken leg!” he retorted.
    “I hate you.”
    “And I absolutely hate you.”
You narrow your eyes at him. “I hate you more.”
“I hate you so much that I’ll kiss you right now just to prove that I don’t feel anything besides hate for you.”
    “Fine!” you yell.
    “Fine!” he screams back.
You were suddenly hyper-aware of how close he has gotten to you during your little screaming match. You could feel his breath, still heavy with rage, fan onto your face. Both of you are still glaring at each other. Just when you’re about to open your mouth to let out another snarky remark, his lips come crashing down to yours.
His rough lips take you by shock at first, but as he continues to skillfully move them against your own, you melt into the kiss. You push yourself forward in an attempt to get as close to him as possible, to feel as much of him as you can. You feel him doing the same when his hand flies to the back of your head. You deepen the kiss.
He pulls away with the same suddenness and urgency he initiated with. His breath is heavy, but this time due to the shock of the electric kiss you both shared. For a while, no words are spoken. You silently stare into each other’s eyes, both trying to make sense of what had just happened and fighting the urge to dive back in for another kiss.
“Okay,” he finally whispers, forehead leaning against yours, “so maybe I don’t hate you.”

Minutes passed and the printer in front of him still didn't work.
Jason's finger pushed onto the 'Print' button approximately seventeen times in a row, yet the machine refused to print the documents he had been told to print again. It was taunting him, its small screen laughing in his face because it was making him look like an idiot.
Stupid fucking machine.
It was playing tricks on him. About a minute ago someone else had used it to print documents, so why the hell did it not work now? The most likely reason was because he was the new unlucky employee who would have to face the big boss' fury because he couldn't do the easiest shit such as print a document.
Give him a break.
His eyes looked over to his laptop. 'Error: Printing failed' popped up on the screen for the ninth time and Jason wanted to rip his hair off and scream because why did technology have to be so difficult? If he did what his mind was telling him to do, it would be his farewell card out of this company, and he wouldn't risk being fired from Wayne Enterprises, not when he ripped his ass off during the interview to get the job.
Jason had a lot of pride, too much pride to ask one of his new colleagues for help. He needed to leave a good impression on all of them, or they all would think of him as incompetent and he couldn't have that. He was better than that.
"God damn it..." Jason growled under his breath, clicking on a few options to try printing the documents again.
'Error: Printing failed'
It took him all his will not to throw the laptop against the wall.
The deadline dumped a heavy load of additional pressure on him too; the documents were supposed to sit in front of the Co. CEO before the next meeting, which was — Jason checked the time — in about twenty-three minutes. And he had not gotten to know his boss yet, thus he had no conception of what kind of person his boss was either. If he was an ass then Jason could kiss his job goodbye.
He glanced over to the meeting room when movement caught his eye, the floor-to-ceiling milk glass windows showed a shadow of a person from time to time whenever they got too close. It was most likely an employee preparing the large table for the meeting.
Jason shifted his weight from one foot to another, debating on whether he should request their help.
"One time won't hurt." He sighed to himself. Jason turned on his heels before he headed straight for the meeting room. His fingers wrapped around the handle of the door before he swung it open.
There was a guy.
On the table.
With a skateboard. Doing tricks.
His back was turned to him.
The guy jumped and the skateboard twisted and turned a couple of times — how did he do that? — before he perfectly landed on his skateboard. He didn't seem to notice him. Right as Jason was about to speak up, the other rode the skateboard to the end of the table and jumped off, the skateboard flipping in the air before they both landed smoothly again.
That was when the other saw Jason, his blue eyes widened in surprise as he realized he wasn't alone anymore. He looked like a deer caught in headlight.
They stared at each other in silence for a while.
"Are you even allowed to do that in here?" The question slipped past Jason's lips before he even knew it.
The guy pursed his lips. He didn't reply for solid ten seconds.
"Nope." He drew out the word and popped the 'p'.
Jason couldn't stop himself from chuckling at the reaction and watched the other ride the skateboard around the table to get close to him.
"I figured as much."
"Are you gonna tell on me? That would be not-very-cool of you." He got off the skateboard and hid it behind the opened door.
He pretended to think, a low hum coming from him.
Jason grinned. "Make you a deal," He began as he leaned against the doorframe. "I won't tell anyone about the forbidden things I saw you do just now, and you will help me with the printer in exchange."
The deal made the other laugh– his laugh was kinda pretty. The stranger was kinda pretty in general. No, not kinda– he was really pretty with his black hair falling around his face and his pink lips.
"Show me the printer."
A minute later, both of them stood in front of the cursed machine. Jason demonstrated the problems the printer was causing him, his eye twitching in annoyance when the same error message flashed across the screen of his laptop.
"The same shit happened ten times now, and I have no idea what the fucking problem is. This thing hates me."
There was a small smile on the smaller's lips as he read the error notification. He clicked on a couple of things, reached for the USB cable attached to the printer and connected it to Jason's laptop. Right then, the printer came to live and began printing.
Jason gaped at the machine. "How... the hell did you do that?"
"You need a USB cable for this printer." Now the other was grinning up at him. "And you chose the wrong paper format."
"For fuck's sake..." He groaned and ran a hand across his face. Sometimes, he allowed his own inexperience in technology to embarrass him in front of a cute person like this.
"The error message literally told you to check the format and connect your laptop to a USB cable. You just needed to read it, really." The stranger laughed.
"Stop laughing." Jason huffed when a slight shade of pink ran up to his cheeks, and he looked away in an attempt to hide it.
"You look cute when you're blushing." The other said boldly out of the blue, dragging Jason's eyes back to him.
"What?" The color in his cheeks slowly faded in his favor.
"I said you look cute when you're blushing." The stranger repeated, the sound of the printer working in the background.
The compliment made him grin.
"You don't look too bad yourself...?"
"It's Tim." The other– Tim answered.
"Jason."
Tim grinned, his attention returned to the printer when it stopped. He reached for the printed documents and shifted to face Jason completely.
"Want to grab a coffee with me on our lunch break?"
Jason's heart skipped vividly in his chest. "Sounds good, Tim."
Tim smiled with satisfaction and his gaze shifted to the printed documents before his face lit up. "Oh, great, these are the documents I needed for the meeting. Thanks. See you later."
With one last smile, the smaller turned around and headed to the meeting room, the door closing shut behind him. Jason stood still, eyes blown wide and mouth slightly ajar.
Did he just flirt with his boss?

Waking up with Jason
Jason Todd <3
(G/N)
A/N Hello yall, this is my first short story along with writing stuff for Jason. I hope it does him justice and I hope yall like it. Lemme know if yall want more though and please consider following <3
Summary You wake up beside him in the morning. Enjoying this man's beauty.
_______________
As your relaxing dream comes to an end; your eyes slowly open, looking up onto your white ceiling. Your pupils adjust to the yellow rays of lights fluttering through your open shutters. Dust particles casually floating around in the air, life could seem better than it was right now. Slipping your arms from under the blanket. You pull your weighted blanket up to your neck, with a slight tug stopping you from going all the way. You’re reminded of the love of your life sleeping right next to you.
Rolling onto your side, adjusting your weight to become more comfortable. Admiring the beauty that your boyfriend has, you found yourself staring at him.
Jason was sleeping on his stomach with his hand tucked beneath the pillow. His blanket was down to his lower back and sporting a white tank top. (He normally sleeps on his back, but I guess after patrol last night. He was too slumped to correct his sleeping position.) He must have turned his head frequently in his sleep because his hair was all ruffled up. His white streak sticking up in the air.
Scooting closer to him and to the edge of your pillow so you could get a better view of Jason. Slowly you have your hand under your chin, making a small indentation on the mattress under you.  As quietly as possible, breathing slowly and softly. You tried your best not to wake up your sleeping beauty. Jason has caught you multiple times staring at him. Teasing you about your “stalker tendencies” as soon as his eyes are open. Rolling your eyes at the thought.  “Such a light sleeper” you mutter to yourself. Quickly realizing that was a mistake to say aloud. Biting your lower lip, all you can do is hope he didn't stir awake over your small comment. After a short amount of time passes, thinking you’re in the clear. Slight ease of tension comes off your shoulders.
Turns out, you didn't see the grass on the other side after all. Jason opens one eye and tilts his face in your direction. A genuine smile appears on his face. A look of defeat comes across your face. You let out the support of your chin along with a deep sigh. Staring at the same ceiling you woke up looking at. At a turtles pace, you look at him. He's propped up currently this time, in the same position you just were.
“I think this is becoming a bit of a creepy habit that you’re developing y/n. This is what…” Pretending to do the math in his head. “Hmmm… the 14th time that I caught you doing this?” Raising his eyebrow and saying that in a questioning tone.
“I almost had you there though… if I didn't make that small comment. I promise you, you wouldn't have known!”
He chuckles at your statement. Leaning into peck your cheek and going back into his side of the bed. Tumbling back on the pillow. His face is back on the pillow and tilted to you once more. “I was awake before even that y/n. But maybe next time” He mumbles into the pillow, barely audible. Closing his eyes, he was almost starting to fall back to sleep. Wanting a couple more hours after his exhausting shift.
Now that your cover has been blown. You might as well go snuggle with him. Going over to Jason and slipping an arm under and over him. Resting the side of your head on his chest and hearing his heart in action. Slightly squeezing him into a small embrace. Jason finally reopens his eyes, focusing his attention on the top of your head. He plants a small kiss and tucks his arms under yours to reciprocate the hug.
“Now your giving hugs out of nowhere?”
“I know you enjoy them…plus I kind of needed one.” your tone is muffled by his chest.
“Well y/n, if that's the case”  Tightening his embrace on you. Jason had carefully pulled you to meet him on eye level. “Let me spoil you with them. Hell. Let me add a couple of kisses into the mix.” The look on his eyes sported affection. Seeming to admire every feature that you had. Jason always had a way of making someone flustered.
After tightening the hug Jason adorned you with kisses. Kissing every feature that he loved on your face. And slowly moving down your neck. Kissing the collar bone that he cherished, then moving on to the shoulder that slipped out of the loose pajamas you were wearing. You could only assume that he was going to continue down further but you put an end to that adventure.
“Hold up there cowboy.” You cupped the side of his head, leading him back up to eye level. “What do you think you're doing.” Giving him a smug look expecting an honest reply.
“Well…Partner, if now is not the right time,” he says in a mockingly southern tone. “ Maybe we could spend the whole day cuddling instead?” He pleads with you with, softening his green eyes. The sun casts against his back and gave him this glow around his body. His body is outlined in yellow light.  How could you say no!
Giving in to temptation and giggling at the situation. You remove your hand from his scarred face. Putting your arm in the air and gesturing him to come. He quickly moves in closer and plants his head in the crease of your neck and shoulder. Putting another kiss along the way. He quickly slid his hands and arms under yours. Trapping you in an embrace with no intention of letting you go.
He spoke into the air; wanting his words to be genuinely expressed to the love of his life. “I did also desire a hug as well from you y/n.” taking a deep breath through his nose, intaking your familiar and comforting smell. “I missed you a lot y/n.” Speaking in such a delicate tone. Jason closes his eyes and is ready to fall back asleep with you in his arms.
Your heart feels like it could burst at any moment through your chest. Saying the words I love you to him. With him gladly repeating it back to you in a dampened tone. The two of you spend the morning laying in bed together. With you kissing the top of his head instead. Not ready to let the other one go until the sound of your stomach says otherwise. And thankfully Jason is cooking some breakfast. The day with the love of your life wouldn't start until after 12pm with many more to come.
If you enjoyed please leave a like <3
