I keep seeing Nico di Angelo child of Aphrodite posts and they’re lovely-

But i raise you,

Nico Legacy of Aphrodite and Child of Hades.

I mean think about it,

Maria di Angelo could see through the Mist, Was the daughter of a wealthy family (a diplomat i believe), Known for her class, beauty, and Beautiful singing voice.

Many attributes of the love goddess, wether Aphrodite was her mother or grandmother. (leaning more towards mother)

Hades falling for beauty headstrong singer activist, (unclaimed) Child of Aphrodite and having two beautiful kids.

it’s kinda writes it self. but anyways.

Nico being a Legacy of Aphrodite and Child of Hades, Would Effects his demigod powers, getting some from the love goddess.

While most forget he’s there as he fades in the background or find him unsettling do to his father , Once Nico Commands your attention, be it through actions or words, he’s difficult to ignore, like lesser charmspeak or a more commanding presence.

I think he be able to deduce other’s feelings easier. which is a double edge sword for Nico, Cause he can read that people don’t like him/ are scared of him.

and i feel like even if he could read feelings and they were genuine in being nice, or liked him ect. Nico would still be cautious and distrustful due to the past.

Some of the traits I think Nico would inherited is definitely the being able to speak french. Though i think he’s able to speak/ pick up most romance languages easier. (considering he already speaks italian)

And The fact that all defendants of aphrodite are attractive to everyone-(which nico is regardless)

Nico would probably be seen more ethereal (Angelical) but intimidating. He’s still unnerving but it’s more like a single look can say a thousand words.

I also think he’d be more observant and is able to pick up Subtle changes in details quicker.

Also the Sheer symbolism that would give Nico being a legacy of aphrodite.

The Beauty of death and while sad and melancholy. It’s still can bring peace to those that have lived a hard life through sacrifice for good.

The Hurt that’s felt of losing a someone your care about.

The love that hurts you cause it’s something that you can’t get back or atleast wont be the same.

It Also makes sense for Nico, someone who Understands Love and how it can hurt you, and How it can bring you do things that can be reckless and self-destructive.

Nico as Legacy of Aphrodite, and child of Hades

i can see how both aspects of his parentage can collide and create hurt, but also how well it can mesh.

Especially as he learns to love himself and who he is, as a child of hades & as a queer person and then also as a legacy.

Which godly parent i think tdm characters would have and why

Cole is a child of Vulcan, Hephaestus's roman counterpart, cause fire. Cole is a preator of camp jupiter. He ran away from home when his mom married Harry. He hasn't contacted them since

Liam is a child of hephaestus cause he is good with cars, and children of hephaestus are good mechanics, i decided to have Liam and Cole at different camps for plot. Liam dosent know Cole is also a halfblood

Vida is a child of Mars, Ares roman form (no explanation needed)

Chubs is a child of Apollo cause docter

Clancy was a tough one and was a toss up between Athena and Mars. Mars is Ares roman equivalent. But I decided Mars so Clancy could be a preator of camp jupiter with Cole cause I think that'd be hilarious

Jude is a child of Murcury, Hermes roman equivalent. I can't explain why he just is

Nico is a child of Athena and is a spy for Clancy

Zu is also a hard one cause I want to say she is a child of Zues, but in the darkest legacy she is such a smart cookie, but I still have to say she is a child of Zues

Jack is a child of hermes (need I say why)

Sam is a child of Mars, Ares roman equivalent. Because it makes sense

Lucas is a child of Apollo i think he'd have sun power, which could be used to burn people

Mia is also a child of Apollo, she sucks at singing, playing instruments, writing poetry, and medicine, if she wasn't such a good archer no one would believe she was a kid of Apollo

Gabe is a satyr (he dies bringing zu to camp)

Cate is a decendant of Venus, Aphrodite's roman equivalent, cause I say so

Ruby is also a child of Venus, cause charmspeak and cause Venus is not just the goddes of love and beauty, but victory too.

Powerful Demigods

I was just reading a fanfic of Nike! Nico and all the demigods parents were all flipped around like Percy was a son of Aphrodite, Hazel a daughter of Hecate, and Jason a son of Athena/Minerva. And like it was pretty good and I feel like HoO would’ve been so much more meaningful if the demigods were children of minor gods. I mean for how rare children of the big three were they had 3 and a legacy of one all in the same quest. They also had Piper, Leo, and Frank who had rare, once in a lifetime gifts from their parents and Annabeth is Annabeth. I know it was suppose to be the 7 of the most powerful demigods but that was such overkill and it was like yeah of course they’re going to succeed look at the skill list and like minor gods were just pushed aside I know we had some representation but they were all second fiddle.

For Yue,definitely Rachel!Both are kindhearted 'higher class' girls who have different powers than the rest of the main cast(Yue with her moon powers and Rachel being the Oracle of Delphi)and both of them deserved better😔✊

For Mai,Piper because they're both rich girls with a strained relathionship with their parents,are snarky and use knives as weapons but also Nico!!Both goth,both had/have a crush on their Zuko(I don't ship Perc/ico anymore because of the age difference but Nico being canon gay thanks to his crush on Percy is very important to me as a bi trans guy)and both gloomy but have a big heart in the end💖!

And for Ty Lee,okay,hear me out JDJFJGJG my pjo self-insert,Lex😭They both had trouble growing into themselves,have a lot of sisters(Lex is a Demeter kid),love pink and are kindhearted and bubbly!Also i ship Zuko and Ty Lee in a bi4pan way and Percy's my romantic f/o *cOUGH*

Who do you think Nico would be a legacy of?

my personal hc is that the Di Angelo Family has had a long history w/ chthonic gods that culminated in hades & maria’s relationship, kinda similar to reyna’s family’s association w/ bellona but instead of one god its Hades Domain in general. that gives some leeway bc there are just. so many good legacy options depending on what aspect of nico’s character you want to focus on.

if i had to pick One god i would probably go with hypnos or morpheus because legacies seem to inherit Powers more than anything else (see: frank & octavian) and that would help explain nico’s affinity for sleep/dream magic. it also kinda mirrors hazel having hecate’s favor & i like the idea that underworld gods pick favorites when it comes to hades’ children lol. there’s also something interesting about hypnos being the god of the river lethe and the family basically being like. given back to him in a way. idk where i’m going with that actually but there’s SOMETHING there.

i also think the di angelo’s being legacies of aphrodite or venus could be SO cool considering how important love is to that whole family. bianca abandoned her brother and romantic love and she died for it!! in Aphrodite’s husband’s land!! think about that!! that’s what happens when you go against your family’s legacy!!! hades loved maria so much more than he loved marie. Thanatos and eros are counterparts, but Thanatos is often kinder. everything nico has ever done has been for love. do you understand.

i’ve seen a few people say he could be a legacy of nike and i always agree with the posts when i see them but i am absolutely blanking on their reasoning. i also think athena could be cool bc of his Thirst for Knowledge and the di angelo’s history in politics but idk thats kinda boring the first two r my favorites.

How I’d rate the Gods/Goddesses(riordanverse)

This is my rating based off the way Rick Riordan portrayed them in the Riordanverse. The traditional myths have been taken into account but do not make up my entire opinion.

Hestia:

10/10 would give my life for this goddess. In all aspects of the word, this goddess is a goddess. I want a novella of her watching over the hearth and watching out for her family and the heroes. I imagine her being a very comforting presence and warm like a hug, and maybe this is me projecting my mummy issues but I just want her to hug me.

Dionysus:

A solid 7.35/10 for Mr D. Naturally he was a bit annoying, but we were never under the pretence that he he was meant to be anything more than what he provided and I respect that. Him caring about his kids at camp, and staying relatively loyal to his wife is always a plus. And I like his relatively humble beginnings being a hero and becoming a god and then not causing that much trouble in the series. Unlike some other pieces of shit.

Hermes:

4/10. Mans had no right blaming Luke’s thirst for mass genocide on 16 year old Annabeth. Not cool man. Not cool. He gets the points he got because he did genuinely care about Maia, and Luke, but he lost the rest of them by having a blatant favourite (who literally caused so much destruction). However I do still like his line about family in sea of monsters and never giving up on them. Nice meaning. But he was still a shitty father and only intervened out of self interest most of the time.

Aphrodite:

2/10. I hate how low I have to rank her. But my god did Rick do her dirty in his depiction. Just the misogyny, the lack of depth, and the untouched potential she has as a character, as a goddess, THE OLDEST GOD/GODDESS and Rick really made her throw rose petals around the battle fields on one of (what was meant to be) the biggest fights of the riordanverse. Absolute robbery. If I’m not mistaken as well, she was a huge contributor to the issues and obstacles percabeth went through and we do not Stan. HOWEVER, I love her as a goddess normally, and what she could represent if she’s written properly.

Hephaestus:

8/10. I have no qualms with this man. I too prefer the company of inanimate objects to people and get stressed about social interaction. And I too have mummy issues. So me and Hephaestus are on the same page. Let this man tinker away in his little bunker. He never went out of his way to make things harder for demigods, and was helpful when they came to him for help which I can also respect. (Point deduction because it was on his land that Bianca died…if I’m not mistaken).

Ares:

-12/10. This man was introduced as a bully, and gives off the vibes of every phobic, known to humanity. I do not vibe. I do not agree. I do not stan. ALSO his motorbike seat is apparently made from "Caucasian human skin”!!!!!!???? We as children never questioned this? We just went sure aight move on?! Please this man has the biggest small dick energy if I ever saw it and I despite him so much. Mans was also never helpful. Ever. I don’t think. I think Mars was better than him though so I’ll give him that.

Artemis:

9.99/10 all hail queen of the lesbians. Mad respect to this woman. In what she stands for, who she protects and in her actions. She’s what I embody when I stand up for myself in fights and when I speak to have my voice heard. I like Rick’s depiction of her and I love seeing her and her hunters pop up in his books. Would love a couple books on the hunters and their adventures. Also I love archery. And I’m biased to the moon because I love the night so she gets extra points for all of that too.

Apollo:

Prior to Trials of Apollo 7/10, after TOA 9.90/10. Yes it’s a big jump but my god did Lester grow on me. Prior to TOA he was pretty average. He was funny, always provided a good laugh to the plot and was always helping the demigods which I loved. But I know he’s an asshole full of himself so I can’t give him any higher than that until he had some character development, which we got in TOA (specifically after Burning Maze). And I really like who he is now and the type of character Rick shaped him out to be. In the myths he’s a big creep, and I still stand by that idea, hence why he doesn’t get a full 10.

Athena:

3.5/10…ughhh I hate to say this. But part of it is the same reasoning I gave about Aphrodite. I just have so many issues with the way she’s portrayed and it’s not accurate to what I believe in my heart she should represent. And as a child of Athena, I feel like Rick then did her entire legacy dirty. She has her moments, but since I can’t even fully recall one right now, it just proves my point. As a goddess as a whole though, what she represents is everything I aspire to be in life. She’s my entire aesthetic of hard work, creativity, and strength and grit, without taking away of being a powerful female. Zeus’ lead strategist like shit, Rick could have done so much. But he did not. And I am thus sad about it.

Demeter:

6/10. I have no issues with Demeter. Kinda boring. I think that’s what most of the fandom thinks as well. She just didn’t get enough screen time or development. I have no attachment to her. I think the powers that she has, and has passed on to her kids is cool though so there’s that. But in the series as well she doesn’t do much. She also (initially) doesn’t fight in the battle of Manhattan so maybe I’m slightly bitter there. But yeah, i’m indifferent.

Hades:

8.99/10 Okay so hear me out I know this man gets so much bad rep in the myths and that’s part of why he doesn’t get a full 9. But I really really love the way he’s depicted in the riordanverse, especially with his entire arc with his kids/specially with Nico. Like literally one of my favourite quotes In the entire series is “my children are so rarely happy, I would like to see you be the exception.” Out of the gods listed here (and excluding Dionysus), he acts like a genuine parent to his kids and tries. And like there’s issues, sure, but he works on them. And since so much of the first series is about how the gods are neglectful, seeing him change and seeing him fight for Nico is my everything.

Poseidon:

7.1/10. Honestly this feels too high considering mans was nearly If not just as bad as Zeus in keeping it in his dam pants. His points come from treating Sally like the queen she is, and trying with Percy (albeit too little too late but I can see the minimal effort). That being said, he’s really shitty in the myths so I can’t really give him anything higher than this. He’s barely a dad, and sees Percy more as an ally than an actual son or human being that needs attention. I like him more in Fanon and the way that I write him lmao because I humanise him. But I won’t lie he’s dilf material, and I still like rick’s depiction of him.

Hera:

3/10 I’m surprising myself with this rating because tbh I might even push her to 4.5 just because she’s so consistent in her own goals and agenda, and that perseverance is very admirable even if it was at the cost of some of my favourite characters. She was very much two faced though and fucked around stuff that she should have stayed out of. Her hatred for literal children though is a bit problematic. I have no attachment to her but I admire how much she just wants a family. However she just really needs to assess how she approaches that since it’s a bit messed up.

Zeus:

-5/10 I really don’t Zeus, his character, him in the myths, everything about him. He gives off the vibes of a man who abuses the power that he was given. And I don’t like that. It makes me uncomfortable and I don’t like him at all. His treatment of his children, of the demigods, and the way he governs Olympus. Not a fan. I could rule Olympus better and I’m a mentally unstable, serotonin deficient 20 year old with a hyper fixation on greek mythology and Minecraft. However despite not liking his character, I think Rick does a great job at depicting him accurately to how he was in the myths.

OKAY BESTIES.... LIKE GENUINELY VENUS’ LIL PROPHECY THING ONLY MAKES SENSE AND MAKES FOR GOOD, POIGNENT WRITING IF REYNA IS A CANON LESBIAN...................lmfao.....

we start with reyna plagued by comphet, constantly being told who she should be her entire life (in more ways than one, so again VERY fitting for her character). she’s trying to force feelings for her best friend but it never feels right. it always feels... out of place. like a puzzle piece that doesn’t fit right, but she doesn’t know why.

then venus’ words that day in charleston. “you will not find love where you wish or hope.” they aren’t said cruelly, more in the way a knowing parent tries to gently steer a child in the right direction. but still they cut deep, because reyna thinks she knows why but she’s still only 15 and can’t bring herself to say it.

and imagine if we got to follow reyna coming to terms with her sexuality throughout her POV in BoO, finally acknowledging who she is and accepting it, LOVING IT!!!!! and then opening up to nico, to her sister. finally having a part of herself that is Hers and being able to believe that it is Good and finally feeling like herself.

FUCK ADN LIKE. if we had reyna coming to terms with her sexuality and then the fight with orion right after that, the literal representation of toxic masculinity, of horrible, disgusting men who target and harm women. if we had that monster taunt reyna for her attraction to women (namely annabeth, still using his whole “do you know how strange it is to meet your mortal enemy and end up being attracted to her? — praetor, what am I saying? Of course you know”), if we had orion mocking reyna. and then reyna rising up against that, staring him down in all her dyke-y confidence and glory, telling him that she knows who she is, that she is not broken, that she doesn’t need to be fixed or changed or turned. that nothing he can say will make her go back to hiding who she is. that she doesn’t hide any part of herself anymore.

bellona and athena give their blessings, literal stamps of approval from her own mother and her crush’s mom, and then reyna kills orion. our beloved roman lesbian killing a manifestation of sexism and lesbophobia. if you don’t think that’s fucking poetic idk what else to tell you.

and then she returns to camp, terrified she’ll be persecuted for breaking roman law, terrified she won’t be accepted for who she is but instead she’s.... welcomed back with open arms. hero of olympus. giant killer. lesbian icon. and she’s finally surrounded by people who know and love her for her and not what she can do for them, and going back to new rome felt more like going back home than it ever has.

ALSO. ALSO. i know we clown on rick all the time but can we talk about how bad his portrayal of the gods are??????? like WHY did he make venus bully reyna fr and toy with her love life for seemingly no reason (other than weird plot device?? + forced tension) and why did he characterize venus/aphrodite as shallow and vain and.... constantly meddling and cruelly playing w mortals love lives anyway. like it was just lazy and stereotypical characterization imo

so in my increasing and exhaustive efforts to fix all the weird, cringy, and outright bad/offensive shit rick did in hoo in a semi canon-compliant way..... sometimes i like 2 imagine that venus was aware of reyna’s importance/role in the survival of rome and her words were not so much her being like haha you’ll never find love binch or a prophecy concerning reyna being Forever Alone as much as they were... a warning? a way to deter reyna from distractions? ‘remember, child, the legacy of rome depends on you, you cannot let your heart be divided when the time comes for rome to rise or fall.’ her aim is for reyna to carry these words with her like a wound, like a shield. ‘you were born to be a warrior and a leader, now be one.’

Supergirl BUT a PJO AU

I just finished a re-read of everything Rick Riordan and I had a thought:

Imagine camp-half blood where:

1. J’onn is the activities director who does his best to maintain peace and provide wisdom.

2. Lena is a child of Poseidon (not only cause the green eyes and black hair) She is like super smart and of course is terrified of water. She basically blames herself for her mortal mother’s drowning and the guilt/trauma makes feel like a villain in a place of heroes. Also resentful towards Poseidon. So she stays away from everyone and suppresses her gift. It seems to be working until a certain blue eyed blond barges into her life like a tidal wave.

3. Kara is a child of Athena who lost her parents to an attack from Arachne. She doesn’t really feel at home in her cabin because she is the first one ever to have powers. As one of the camp’s best heroes she is constantly throwing herself into quests and soon makes it her mission to figure out what’s up with that Luthor in Cabin 3.... and why she can’t stop staring.

4. Alex is a child of Ares who finds themselves falling for a child of Aphrodite and doesn’t know what to make of those feelings. Then eventually keeping her mortal-adoptive sister away from Lena at the behest of her godly father. But her attempts are half-hearted because she can see how good these two dorks are for each other.

5. Kelly is known for her good advice, warmth, and general badassery but is struggling to assert her role as head counselor of the Aphrodite cabin against Andrea, who loves to spread rumors and meddle in other campers personal affairs.

6. Nia would be either the daughter of Hypnos, Morpheus or the camp oracle idk I couldn’t choose. But the gist of her conflict is that she is trying to navigate her powers while striking a “friendship” (note the quotations) with a shy demi-titan

7. Brainy’s story is unconventional because he is the first kid from a titan (Coeus- look it up) to be allowed. He has some insecurities with his natural appearance (green skin & white hair) so he asks the Hecate kids to place charms on him... that is until he meets Nia Nal who helps him embrace emotions, parentage, and identity. seeing everyone talk about hoo rewrite hc’s i would like to join and add a few hehe

- i won’t reiterate what everyone’s been saying bc they’re all correct and right (no frazel, no racist/sexist shit about piper, hazel, reyna) no forced outing of nico, no weird “i’m alpha” shit between jason & percy, and overall better leo’s whole arc etc...

- i would swap annabeth’s godly parent (so pjo rewrite) i think having her being a daughter of nike (a minor goddess) would be far more interesting/is fitting for her! her desire to be first, number 1, always win, and having her pride and need for victory be a part of who she is! and in pjo she would have been in the hermes cabin thus making her relationship w luke stronger, therefore making his betrayal hurt that much worse (also for fun in hoo she’d have a crush on piper and play into the whole cocky yet nervous daughter of nike who only wants to be the number 1 in piper’s heart hehe)

- instead i would want to put a black child of athena i think that them within the story would be so interesting and their intelligence is not only of extreme use, but they can offer strategies and ways to get out of dire situations in the skip of a heartbeat! plus i think they’d be great friends w leo & hazel!

- i would like to add more minor/underworld/primordial god kids! i wanna see children of eros (primordial), thanatos, hecate, nemesis, nike, hebe, hypnos, erebus, nyx etc... i think they’d be SO much cooler than to see just kids of the 12 olympians and to see how some of them interact w the 7 + nico & reyna! (son of eros & thanatos & hecate interacting w nico and hazel - son of eros helping nico, son of hecate helps hazel to control the mist, son of thanatos being friends w nico & hazel and feeling a connection w them? daughter of nemesis battling w her internal of struggle whether she hates percy or not and how she’s seen how it’s affected her brother? son of hebe being best friends with leo and relates to his fun spunk? son & daughter of erebus being the antithesis of jason yet seeing his kindess and respect and how he subverts their ideals of a how a son of jupiter/zeus would act? children of nike meeting frank & reyna and look at how strong & good at combat they are and seeing future sparring partners?

- i am. a narcissus apologist he deserves a better and well rounded character arc - i want to see him full of anger sadness and despair and how demigods feel the guilt of fighting him and forcing him to look into his reflection and see him sob bc it’s too much and he didn’t deserve to be held down for eternity! here’s @hazelmagix’s take on it: here’s one, and another, and it makes me sad

- eros is the protector of homosexual love! it would have been better to see him protect and speak to nico and give him advice - he protects young men! it would have been different to see this side of him rather than the mischievous terrifying one the gods know (as the god are actually frightened by eros) and also! no thanatos in chains!

- if you’ve read tsoa then this is for you but for the curse of achilles scene i wanted tsoa!achilles so bad omfg seeing a young man who is the cautionary tale of bearing the curse and who’s THE most famous and one of the most tragic demigods (and how he’s the opp. spectrum of percy bc he let go of his humanity and therefore losing everything he knew and loved) and having percy recognize that would have been heartwrenching and how achilles not only lost his life & honor but something more important to him aka PATROCLUS!

- for fun i wanna see a “sons of apollo” group that has a fun rivalry w the “hunters of artemis” that has so substance for bettering hoo it’s just something i wanna see JDJDJDJD and also........ let the hunters have lesbians! people have pointed out how it’s ridiculous to kick them out and also that they’re all so young so artemis has to make sure that they wanna join which would change the concept fundamentally! i think hunter thalia meeting praetor amazon reyna would have been insanely cool and them being gf’s!

- i love valgrace! i’d love to have seen it! peak friends to lovers trope but first and foremost leo learns how to find self love and be secure in himself and his friends help him! so does the son of eros & son of hebe & hazel & piper! and i wanted to see certain friendships within the two camps like percy & leo, jason & annabeth, piper & will, hazel & charlie, piper & silena, the stoll brothers and dakota, frank & clarisse etc...

- not me realizing that i didn’t add iconic takes from @bunkernine & @hazelslevesquee! caitlyn the foremost icon of the TLH trio her takes are over here! and pearl already has ideas about hazel :’)

- i wanted octavian to be an absolute BASTARD, complete antagonist, just despicable! one of my fav scenes of his was when he told percy that he hoped the roman brand hurt which is entirely fucked up and dark and i love a villainous character! he was a little bitch in hoo when he deserved to be a bad bitch! a legacy of apollo who has the worst qualities of apollo himself and who the “sons of apollo” consider an absolute travesty to the name of their patron!

- the gaea fight bro......... what was that??? we needed TENSION, I WANTED ACTION, SHE’S A PRIMORDIAL GODDESS AND IS SUPER POWERFUL! we should have that battle be even more dangerous and tension filled than the battle of kronos and were ROBBED! we should have seen aphrodite’s war side, the extent of damage the big three kids could do, minor god kids weren’t considered to be all that strong but are LETHAL in battle! i wanted sm more from this battle it was WEAK in the books smh we deserved better! and there’s probably way more i’d change but my brain is no thots head empty rn but that’s all i have for now hehe

Nico is a Roman legacy

I’ve mentioned this before, but never made an actual post about it. But think about it:

He was able to trick an entire camp of Romans that he was one of them for almost a year

Terminus allowed him into the city without any trouble, even though he had initially refused to let Annabeth, Piper and Leo into the city for being Greek

You could say that applies to Percy as well, but Percy has no memories. He believed he was Roman, and the whole gods thing only works because of belief. If no one believes in the gods, they disappear, like Pan did

Also, he was allowed in because of Hera. Even without the belief thing, his queen had just ordered for Percy to be allowed to stay in New Rome

Nico knew he was Greek, he didn’t believe that he was Roman. But Terminus gave him no trouble about getting into New Rome

The only way that should work is if he is Roman. He’s a son of Hades, but he most likely is a Roman legacy

Plus, he’s Italian, which is ‘a slave of Rome’ (it’s a line in their national anthem). Italy is the closest to Rome that exists in the world. Why wouldn’t the Roman gods travel there all the time?

They can manifest in places where their domain runs high, so Italy should be a breeding ground for Roman gods and goddesses, right?

The Roman in him would have to be relatively close to when he was born (ie grandparent or great-grandparent). If not, the Roman would be so slim that Terminus wouldn’t have let him in so easily

I really like the idea of Nico being super close with his grandparents, so I’m going to say it was a great-grandparent for that reason. I don’t have any actual ideas on that, or reasoning other than I like Nico having a good relationship with his nonno and nonna

Now, who is he a legacy of?

Bacchus

Somnus

Venus

Achelois

Bacchus because Mr D didn’t punish him for calling him ‘wine dude’ and starting that whole thing. Plus, I like Mr D and Nico as family, and it would help support my trans!nico Headcanon for how Maria accepted him

Somnus is the Roman form of Hypnos, if you didn’t know. This is because of how much energy is drained from Nico using his powers, when it doesn’t really affect anyone else. Also, he can travel through his dreams and sleep for days on end, which seems a little like Clovis to me

Venus because I love Aphrodite Nico. Plus, he seems to be able to calm people down and talk them into doing things a lot (getting an Achilles Heel, promising to protect his sister, letting him shadow travel the Athena Parthenos to America, etc)

And Achelois is a minor moon goddess, which would explain why Nico and Bianca both got along with Artemis so well from the get go. Like, he hates the hunters, but he seems to not be able to hate Artemis. Also, in pjo she hates men a lot, but she seems to like Nico. Him being a descendant of a moon goddess would explain that

K so remember when i said I was gonna make a post about Ethan and the seven if he had been on the quest? Yeah well here goes

He would be wary of Frank at first because a son of Mars and a legacy of Neptune just has to be a stuck up jerk right? He is pleasantly surprised to see that Frank is actually a sweet heart who just really cares about doing everyone proud and not catching fire. And Frank would probably admire him because he was a survivor of the biggest demigod war in a while (not counting the current one) and he was there when Kronos was defeated. Also since Frank still didn’t know about demigod stuff during the titan war he probably isn’t that bothered by Ethan’s former occupation as some others especially since this fact is slightly overshadowed for him by the betraying Kronos thing.

The same weariness would happen with Jason because “son of Jupiter AND praetor?? better steer clear” and the weariness goes both ways because Jason is super paranoid about having an ex titan army member on the ship, especially one that he didn’t know before the war. I think they could have had a way more interesting rivalry than Jason and Percy’s posturing alpha male bullshit. Ethan would have genuinely criticized Jason in a way that would be completely foreign to him and Jason does not like it because “wtf who does this traitor think he is talking to a praetor like that???”. Ethan eventually gains Jason’s trust through heroic stuff or confiding in him about how guilty he feels about what he did during the war and how he feels betrayed and mislead by Kronos; being convinced to join by half truths at best and straight up lies at worst. Jason warms up to Ethan by being a competent semi-leader, nicer than he expected and not the narcissistic ass he’d been bracing himself for and he almost melts when Jason asks for advice on the minor deity’s shrines on the hill because “well you helped build the minor deity’s cabins so you have experience right?”

Reyna (because in this version Reyna is also there) would be even more weary than Jason and it takes pretty much the whole quest for Ethan to convince Reyna he’s not going to kill them all; not that he tries, he doesn’t really see the point in trying to change her opinion of him when there’s much more important things to do so he mainly tries to ignore her side glares. She also doesn’t like how critical he is of everyone even more so than Jason and at one point tries to “remind him of his place” as a former traitor talking to a praetor and he just says “no❤️. I don’t think you realize how little of a fuck I give”. Eventually Reyna figures that he had many many may chances to kill/betray them all and since he didn’t he’s probably not going to. After this she starts to respect him a bit as a good fighter but she’s still pretty salty about the war.

He’d absolutely adore Hazel because A how could you not? B because I hc Ethan and Nico to be friends in this Ethan would probs have a soft spot for his pals new sister (especially considering what happened to his old one) and C when she starts learning how to use the mist she reminds him of is old Hecate friends from the titan army and because he thinks he failed them it’s his responsibility to look after her. Hazel would be a little cautious around Ethan at first because of the titan army thing but she warms up to him the quickest out of everyone who didn’t trust him because of how nice he is to her and surely such a nice young man can’t be bad. she does find it a little funny that her old friend used to talk about joining to army to fight the Japanese in the war and now she’s fighting with the Japanese (technically just one but still). They also joke about how Ethan broke into her dads house, stole her step mums sword and then got his ass kicked by her brother and whenever he leaves the Argo to go do something she goes “bye try not to break into anyone's houses :D” and he makes a show of saying he’ll try but sometimes it’s very hard to resist.

At fist he would HATE Leo. He’d hate how this kid could never take anything seriously and it’s like he doesn’t even CARE that there’s a WAR going on, one that could get LOADS of people killed just like last time (Ethan’s still a little (a lot) scarred about the titan war) not to mention he was team “let’s leave a malnourished depressed child to starve or suffocate in a jar because I don’t trust him”. He’s a little more sympathetic towards Leo after hearing about his rough childhood and learning that his jokes are mostly a coping/defense mechanism and they get talking and find out that they shockingly enjoy each others company. Since I hc that Ethan lived on the streets for a while between leaving camp and joining the army they talk about that sometimes (and Ethan also encourages him to get better coping mechanisms because ironic jokes aren’t gonna work forever).

Because Jason told her about the Titan war (I know this isn’t canon but if Jason trusted Piper as much as Rick said he did then he would have have talked to her about the war) she’s a little guarded around Ethan at first but when she sees him and the others being friendly she starts being friendlier as well because she trusts her friends to know the difference between a friend and a possible impostor (queue among us impostor sound) who’s going to murder them all in their sleep when he gets the chance. Ethan was lowkey terrified of Piper at first because in the titan army Aphrodite children weren’t the pink girly girls who can’t do anything but hair, they were the children of their bosses sister and therefore Zeus’ cousins. Also the fear of god (or goddess) was put in him about charmspeak so he tried to steer clear until the others convinced him that Piper wasn’t anywhere near as dangerous as her uncle K.

I'm kinda planning of writing a Percy Jackson fic? So excuse my rant here of what I have planned I just kinda wanna have it written out and given some feedback hopefully before I really start. Some stuff might be triggering for some people. Including drugs, alcohol, rape, abuse, and self hate so far. Percy isn't a go happy guy, and hasn't been for awhile in the books. Btw REALLY LONG OMG.

Percy is gonna be a bit younger because I for some reason wanna have it cross over with marvel. Sorry. And ship him with Peter. Also sorry but not really.

The first changes is gonna be with Sally and a little bit of how she raised Percy. She teaches him of mythology and languages because she also knows many and knows it'll do him good because they're in the same area of where Greek is commonly used. Italian, Crotian, and Romanian, her family went around and had good taste. I wanna have Sally be a Roman legacy but I'm not sure of who just yet.

The second chapter would be his early preteens and his love/addiction of blue food. Kinda innocent and his relation of blue foods and his love for his Ma. As he grows older and Gabe gets in the picture his addiction of blue foods changes to drugs and alcohol from Gabe threatening them. He wants them to depend on them and him. The rape starts from the beginning of Gabe's relationship/marriage with Sally to be honest. Maternity rape is real and I doubt she always meant yes but would say it so he wouldn't hurt her more. He definitely would threaten the other (Sally / Percy) of harm of the other (Percy / Sally) if they were to misbehave. He'll eventually get himself out of it and help Sally recover while they're still stuck with Gabe. He goes back to loving blue food and uses it as a replacement whenever he has a craving.

The third would be his experience with school. Dyslexia and ADHD shows up right when he starts and some teachers reach out to Sally on ways to "fix him". She doesn't wanna have him depend on medication, definitely happy with that when Gabe happens, so he suffers with explaining " yes I have ADHD and dyslexia, no I'm not making it up to not pay attention" to everyone in every school he ever goes to. Some schools he has good teachers that believe him and wanna help him find ways to learn with his different types of dyslexia because of course he'll have more than what's common in a demigod. Sometimes he wouldn't get expelled from school but would have to deal with a suspension and have to find a way to hide it from Sally and Gabe. He learns better with facial reading and lying throughout these years. He'll have good relations with history, language, tech, and music teachers. Also the lunch and security and front desk people. He got along better with people older then him than people in his class.

The next might just be various moments with Gabe and his friends with either Sally saving him, one of Gabe's okay friends helping him, him turning things for the worse before he learns "the system*1", or with Gabe winning. Includes him learning how to apply makeup to hide bruises, lying about marks and cuts, how to heal stuff quicker, getting rid of smells, sewing, packing clothes tightly, and emergency numbers and places. Thoughts of running away and making things better for his Ma. Self hate and doubt of his reasons for living any longer. Decides running away would be better but he can't bring himself because he loves, is loyal to, her. That's brings MONEY MAKING. I grew up with people making money selling anything in school so he will too and will market off of this for any emergency because Gabe always takes his and Sally's money. Selling simple things like pencils and gum, later cool erasers that teachers confescated that he stole in return. Eventually he had to stop and find new ways to make money, and what's one quick way in New York? Drugs. NO!!.

*1 the system is based on what I learned growing up. If I had a good morning then I'll have a terrible night, Terrible morning then a good night. But sometimes you had to look for signs when it might just be a bad day overall. Conversations, how the person is acting (agitated, short temper, not patient), moody with everything from; lights, sounds, smells, how things are organized, nothing is good enough, privacy. The slightest thing that was good meant nothing when that person had more control of how your day would go. Of course this is my experience personally and I'ma add this in this fic.

He goes about using his talents with music to make some money. He can't risk Gabe, his friends, or even sally recognizing him so he always hides himself and would freestyle on the violin or guitar that he is able to keep at school because he's part of band. It keeps his away from home till Sally is out of work. He got into music because it was always calming to him and helps him concentrate. Sally was able to get him a chance to learn some before Gabe stopped them. Sometimes if there's a piano he'll play that too. Once he's makes money he carefully and reluctantly uses some for better equipment such as speakers and a microphone. His friendship with Peter is helpful with making it easy to bring around or stash at his place once he drops out of band or doesn't even joins his new schools band.*2. They would sometimes go out and just be dumb boys and fool around, Peter for fun and Percy for future possible survival and fun. Who can I connect with that will give me a discount? Who is less attentive of their stock? Where does the best wallets come from? Who accepts homeless and when? Libraries?

*2 this goes with my headcannon of Percy having more power, specifically pertaining to Sirens. Overall his voice is pleasing to listen to. When he's young it's nothing exceptional and are expecting someone to try and make him famous but as he grows up and sings more and gets more comfortable his voice is more smooth and silky. The mood of the songs can also affect people listening and draws people's attention and usually leads to him having people crowd around him whenever he's performing. He sometimes works with Peter with him dancing. He doesn't typically do pop songs since he likes rock music more so he'll change songs to him mood and tempo more fitting to what he enjoys.

He meets Peter when he and Sally are recovering. To disguise their time using money for drugs they'll go around walking or making up for lost time. She treats Percy as a silent thank you to a trip to the aquarium in Queens. There he meets Peter who is recovering from his traumatic friendship with Skip. They make quick friends and Sally and May and Ben make plans because they haven't seen their kid be this happy in a long time.

He becomes insomniac pretty early on even before the horrors of being a demigod. Someone once broke in their apartment and Gabe took it out on them so now he's even more sensetive to any sounds he hears at night. Either from his Ma crying, Gabe and his friends, or nightmares keeping him up. He usually sleeps under his bed because of Gabe putting his stuff on his bed and trashing his room. He'll wake up and go under the blankets when he hears Sally's footsteps coming to his room to not worry her.

Going to school is a blessing and a curse because that means no Gabe but that also means no Sally sadly. He constantly has to make a choice be happy for now? Or prepare for when that happiness goes away later. Meaning, do I hang out with Peter or do I go and make money street performing. Do I go to a school far from home so that I don't have to see Gabe but not see Sally, but that means she won't have to worry.

Once he finds out he's a demigod imagine all the self hate he gets. Any possible talents he thought he had. Anything that made him him, his love of blue, the sea, his features ( sure Sally would say he looks like his father he hoped he still had something that was from her, something that was just him ). But nope it all connects to Poseidon. Everything he likes and was confident about came from him. He wasn't anything special. He was just made to be used for their wars and fights and prophecy since they can't be involved but they don't wanna die from at the same time.

He knows of mythology with the help of his small closest group of friends and family, not what's taught at camp. He treats Medusa kinder and begs her to understand why he needs to continue and relates to her pain and apologies for what his birth father did to her. She allows him to kill her for a way to get rid of his pain Gabe. At camp he puts on a different kind of mask because he has no idea who he is at the beginning. A demigod? What the fuck?? What does that mean for him then? He's lost so he dumbs himself down. He has street smarts so he needs to get a layout of the place and the people. What's the stereotypes of groups. Who's the outliers. Where can I be me and with who. With Clarisse he hides what experience he has with fighting to seem weaker, the talk of prophecy can't be good and he didn't want anything with it. And with the talk of prophecy from the girl with blonde princess curls, and he feels used throughout their journey for a bit because this is what she wanted isn't it? To go out in the world and use her brain for better things. He's worried that she'll be like this onwards that this friendship is temporary just for her gain. Thankfully she stays. Watching his mother "die" from the Minotaur hurts him terribly because of course it's gonna be his fault that she dies. When he falls from his fight against Ecihdina and Chimera it pushes him to embracing the water side of him more and look tried gettingcontrol of it. Although the trap set by Hephaestus is rigged it doesn't push for Aphrodite to ship Percy with Annabeth. She can see he has doubt of even friendship and she stays respectful of that. Not everyone can cope with grief with romance. He meets Nico and Bianca at the casino but isn't able to pull them out. He doesn't make the connection till the next time he meets them. His loyalty brings him to the underworld wanting his mother back and his growing loyalty to the camp with the date drawing near for the solstice. He knew Hades couldn't be at fault and explaining so to him and Persephone builds his future relationship with them. His fight against Ares is helped by Posedion but also his growing anger of him wanting to endanger his friends. Luke still betrays everyone and everyone knows. He returns to his mom and Peter and life goes on.

Percy Jackson Headcanons

- he is the best one on the high school swim team

- the amount of non-athlete students at meets DOUBLED since he joined

- everyone wants to see him easily beat every single competitor

- people whisper about him

- some say “he’s cheating”

- others say “how can he cheat?”

- most people don’t know how he does it, but just go with it because school spirit, right?

- he’s easily one of the most popular guys at school

- most girls and some boys (sand probably some enbies too) have huge crushes on him

- they’re all jealous of Annabeth

- one time, a girl tried to flirt with Percy

- she was judo flipped by Annabeth

- no one tried flirting with him again

- when prom season hits, percy is stressed on how to ask Annabeth

- lots of people do over the top prom-posles so he thought he had to do one too

- he got a sign and put “I went with you to Tartarus, so will you go with me to prom?”

- he was going to give it to some fish and take her on an underwater walk and the fish would hold it up and it would be sweet

- but he forgot things get wet and the sign was destroyed

- percy ended up just saying what the sign said anyway

- he found a baby blue tux and wanted to go in that

- Annabeth refused

- but she did wear a beautiful blue dress and Percy had a matching tie

- obviously the corsage was blue

- on the first night of their last year at camp, Percy proposed

- Annabeth accepted (obviously)

- they wanted to get married before they went to college in New Rome

- so the last full day at camp was their wedding

- they had it on the boarder so mortal family could still attend

- though they did make sure Ares was sat there to kill any monsters

- all the campers can, a lot from Camp Jupiter too even.

- Piper, Reyna, Hazel and Thalia were all bridesmaids (Piper was the maid of honor)

- Grover, Nico, Frank and Leo were the groomsmen (Grover was the best man)

- Chiron officiated it

- All of the Olympians + Hades and Persephone came

- Annabeth didn’t want Hera there but she came anyway because it’s a GREEK DEMIGOD wedding and she’s literally the goddess of MARRIAGE

- Magnus came with his Floor 19 buddies, Hearth and Blitz

- Nico was shocked to learn most of them were dead

- Frederick Chase and Athena both walked Annabeth down the aisle because Athena insisted she did it but usually it’s the father

- Aphrodite released doves and one of them pooped on Hera which Annabeth was happy about

- the cake was a beautiful three tier blue velvet, chocolate and marble cake

- they didn’t sacrifice any to the gods because they were right here to eat it (Zeus *almost* threw a fit but then he tasted the blue velvet)

- their honeymoon was in a underwater palace that Annabeth designed, naiads built and Percy kept dry

- a few month after going to school in New Rome, Annabeth discovered she was pregnant with their first child

- Percy was so excited

- like more excited then he should have been

- at the sex reveal party (which Percy set up), Annabeth opened a box with blue balloons

- everyone was like “it’s a boy!” But Percy yelled “it’s a girl!”

- people were like ??? But it’s blue ??? And Percy was like yeah but girls can still like blue

- so yeah the baby was a girl

- her name was Silena Bianca Chase

- (yes Percy took Annabeth’s last name)

- when she was born, Percy dropped out of school

- he decided he would be a full time dad

- he wasn’t that good at school anyway and had no idea what he would do for a job

- when Silena became 11, they decided its time for her to go to Camp for the summer

- she was the first legacy to ever go to Camp Halfblood

- Chiron wasn’t sure if she should be put with the Athena Cabin or Poseidon Cabin

- ultimately, she was put in Athena, but they started constructing two Legacy Cabins, one for boys and one for girls.

- once Mr. D found out, he immediately demanded a third Cabin for anyone who didn’t exactly fit the binary

- Anyway, back in New Rome, Percy started working for Camp Jupiter in the summer while his daughter was away

- they needed a residential son of Neptune (Poseidon is close enough) to (pun alert) oversea their new navy

- percy helped design a small Navy if only five ships, one modern battle ship, one fishing boat, one sail boat and two speed boats for quests like he had when he first came to Camp Jupiter

- he taught a class on sailing which went great until he introduced the kids to the water and they were to freaked out to go on the boat

- he had to promise them that his father would not kill them

- eventually, the Romans warmed up to Neptune

- when a real child of Neptune came along in a few years, no one was afraid of her

- Percy actually lived a long life and had two more kids, Sally Zoë Chase and Luke Ethan Chase.

- Percy died of liver cancer when he was 67, and Annabeth died of breast cancer when she was 72.
