There's something about the idea that gods change according to belief.
There's something about Aphrodite having to drop her sword and shield and pick up a makeup brush and mirror.
There's something about Zeus's Crown overtaking his hospitality.
There's something about Ares being scrubbed of his care with blood.
There's something about Hera's care being thrown in her face because of her cruelty.
There's something about Dionysus having his artistry and wildness ripped away from him due to his partying.
There's something about Hermes losing his chthonic connections in favour of his trickery.
There's something about Demeter surrendering her fierce, protective love and power over life and death to become a hysterical mother.
There's something about Athena's femininity and protectiveness fading to make her grip her spear and grasp her thoughts tighter.
There's something about Hephaestus forgetting his creations' finesse and intricacy to focus on pure function and efficiency.
There's something about Poseidon's earth-shaking rage that causes waves to rise above the tallest mountains being reduced to occasional vengefulness.
There's something about Apollo giving up his herds and truth and wisdom and plagues to speak the future and heal the wounded through song.
There's something about Artemis turning from children and childbirth to fixate on the wilderness.
There's something about the idea that gods change according to belief.

sometimes i wonder how demigods are treated because of their parentage (in the riordanverse):
children of the big three feeling outcasted in a camp for outcasts simply because of their power
(another note: what if other demigods feel resentful because children of the big three get better treatment)
people being wary of children of hermes ever since luke’s situation
(hc: after luke admitted to being a traitor nobody would look any of the children of hermes in the eye for a month)
children of ares feeling like they have to fit the stereotype of being the brute/bully to be acknowledged or even seen as a bit powerful
children of aphrodite being seen as “weak” even though those who have charmspeaking could literally bend people to their will
people avoiding children of athena because hubris is their main fatal flaw and they often come off as “know-it-alls”
children of apollo (who are healers like will solace) that are seen as inferior because they heal and not fight
children of minor gods having to deal with practically being insivible/ignored (if they hear “who?” one more time while introducing their godly parent)
children of demeter being boiled down to “plant lovers”
children of hephaestus whos stereotype is literally “fire and machines”
children of dionysus who have to deal with people constantly mocking their father behind his back because he’s “the weakest olympian”
i mean CHB is a place full of kids-teenagers,there’s no way that there isn’t gossip and drama there

Why Zeus Forbids Interactions between Demigods and their Godly Parents Theory.
What if one of the reasons Zeus doesn't want his family to interact with their offspring is because he's afraid they'd all become powerful enough to overthrow him?
For instance, when the kids interact with their parents more they find that they have more demigod powers than they once thought they had. Percy gets progressively stronger as he and Poseidon work on their relationship. Same with Nico and Hades.
Ares also seems to recognize this and gifts his kids weapons and resources that give them more strength and tactical advantages. Even though he's not a great parent to Clarisse; he's heavily involved with his kids when it comes to war.
Athena uses this strategy too with her own kids but also reminds them of the drawbacks that can come with certain powers like with Annabeth's cap.
Demeter may not get involved with her kids because she doesn't want to risk getting too attached and she knows by being more connected to them they get very strong. Persephone was sometimes feared more than Hades in Greek worship and mythology.
It also helps the parents. The stronger the belief and connection in them; the more powerful the god gets. We see this with Poseidon in TLO and Apollo in TOA. Just some thoughts.

Since I went nuts with this on Discord, let's get groovy!! :3
Children of Demeter with iridescent eyes (think of like a bubble but 10x more rainbow in light)
Children of Apollo having yellowish eyes in the sunlight
Children of Hermes who's pupils expand when they see something enjoyable to them
Children of Aphrodite with heart pupils
Children of Zeus with glowing streaks in their eyes
Children of Poseidon with the ripples of water in their irises
Children of Hades with smokey eyes that make them look glazed over
Children of Athena with scriptures in their irises
Children of Hephaestus with metallic eyes (Leo's appear more orange)
Children of Ares with fiery eyes, whether it be indiciative of them, their dad, or both.
Children (and followers) of Hecate with sigils and runes in their pupils
Hunters of Artemis are like the Apollo kids, but with silver tinting and the moonlight. Grows in intensity during a hunt.
Head counselors (or Centurions), within a week of getting sworn in, begin to have eyes like their godly parent's sacred animal.
The funniest part about this is that this means 2/3 members of the Triumvirate are getting their ass blinded while Caligula is probably looking into Medea's eyes all confusedly.
Percy has fish eyes, btw.

as much as i love siren percy i feel like, technically, it would make more sense for children of demeter to have a siren voice as she was the one who originally created them and sirens only turned from bird-women to fish-women in the medieval ish era. anyway meg with a siren voice that she uses to lure in waiters to give her food

about the godly parent quizzes…
am i the only one to continuously get different answers, even on the same quizzes? i float between hypnos, zeus, aphrodite, nemesis, hades, hecate, and demeter but half of those don’t feel like me? is this a me problem or is this a common thing for everyone?

Hades: Tell your spawn to stop coming to the underworld and asking me for child support money.
Poseidon:.....
Poseidon: You impregnated MY son?!?!?!?! You had a CHILD w/ him?? Was Persephone not enough that u had to fuck my kid too??? And not even helping him ???
Demeter, suddenly popping: Sucks, doesn't it?
Hades:
Tumblr media
This continues with Hades having no clue what's happening and Poseidon yelling at him with Demeter egging him and adding her own snide comments.
Persephone of course is filming the whole thing and eating popcorn with a poker Queen face on and laughing internally because she knows the entire context..
................
Percy, suddenly straightening up.
Annabeth: what happened??
Percy: I have a feeling that I'm the cause of drama happening somewhere.

An Odd Convincing Strategy
Fandom(s): Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Summary: Reason hasn't worked, fear of Kronos hasn't worked either… Nico's left with only one choice to convince Hades to fight in Manhattan: threaten his father with an eternity of irritation. (Based on this silly post I made)
Rating: G (but beware the word "bullshit")
Words: 706
AO3 link
Hades roared in anger. His fireball hit a silver tree right next to Nico, melting it into a pool of liquid metal.
Nico’s first thought was, ‘Huh, it really is silver, not just silver-coloured’, which wasn’t particularly helpful.
His father’s irritation seemed to have subsided, a fact Nico was grateful for. He didn’t think he’d look as mesmerising if his father melted him into a puddle.
“I won’t fight,” Hades stated. “Nor will I fade regardless of the outcome of the battle up in the living world.”
Nico sighed. “Maybe you will, maybe you won’t. But do you think your father will respect your power? That he’ll fear you like your siblings do?”
Demeter snorted in the background, but Nico ignored her.
“He’ll learn to,” Hades said.
Nico gave him a disbelieving stare. “Your father respect anything? Papà, per favore, you know that’s—” Bullshit. “Not going to happen.”
“I won’t help my useless, condescending, backstabbing brothers if my whole kingdom depended on it!” Hades snapped.
Clearly, Nico thought. Out loud he said, “Yes, you did mention you wouldn’t help if Percy Jackson himself begged you to.”
“Damn right!”
Nico thought for a second whether Greek gods could damn people. It wouldn’t be to hell, but if it was all different aspects of a similar abstract concept could they…?
Right, not the time. It didn’t matter.
“Percy Jackson won’t beg you,” Nico said. “But he’ll die. All of them will. They won’t be able to keep your father at bay by themselves.”
“I don’t particularly care if my nephew lives or dies,” Hades scoffed. “That sounds like it’s something you would be upset about.”
“You should be upset about it, too,” Nico argued. “Percy’s stubborn, hot-headed, and if he was dead, he’d have nothing to lose. He would stand here annoying you for all eternity.”
“I think you’re confused about how things work here,” Hades dissented. “I make the rules. I choose who’s here and who isn’t. I—”
“Don’t know Percy like I do,” Nico interrupted, making his father’s eyes burn with irritation again. “He’s an uncontrollable force of nature, particularly adept at being a pain in the ass. Besides, he’d have my help.”
That stopped Hades in his tracks.
“You’re in enough trouble as it is,” he reminded Nico. “You’ve already brought him here without my permission. Thanks to your involvement he now carries the Curse of Achilles, and he’s much harder to kill and control.”
Nico rolled his eyes. Being grounded was on itself a strange occurrence, but his immortal father was harder to sidestep than mortal parents seemed to be. He was bored, just like Persephone and Demeter. But in his case, he was also worried about his comrades fighting in the world above.
“That only proves I’m willing to confront you to help Percy,” Nico told him. “If you don’t join the battle, I’ll help Percy sneak here every single day until you throw us both into Tartarus for our souls to be consumed by its essence.”
“That was quite a statement,” Persephone remarked unhelpfully. “And not really how Tartarus works.”
“Are you going to let him speak to you that way?” Asked Demeter.
Hades massaged his temples with his fingers. “I want him to shut up, too. Any ideas that would convince him?” Demeter raised a finger, and opened her mouth to speak. “That do not involve hard labour in a corn plantation?”
Demeter closed her mouth.
“I’m right here,” Nico said, waving his hands. “And I won’t be silent!”
“All right, all right!” Hades snarled. “If I agree to help them, to fight, you have to promise to never bring Percy Jackson to my domain without my permission again.”
“Okay,” said Nico. “Yeah, sure. I promise.”
“Nor any of my brothers’ bastard children,” Hades added.
“Fair enough,” Nico agreed.
“Come think of it, none of their children, legitimate or not,” Hades decided.
“Yes, I get the point,” Nico hurried him.
“Swear on the Styx.” Hades crossed his arms.
“I swear on the Styx I won’t bring any child of Poseidon or Zeus to your domain unless they’re invited by yourself,” Nico promised. “Happy?”
“No,” Hades complained. “But facing my father is the lesser of two evils.”
“Okay, then,” Nico grinned. “Andiamo!”

The prophecy said 'A child of the eldest gods', but isn't demeter actually older than Zeus?
I bring you this idea: all the demeter kids had a curse that made them die before 16. People never linked it to the prophecy, but Katie Gardener is a week younger than Percy and is coincidentally the first one in just over 70 years to have a 16th birthday...
Alongside this, I bring you the idea that, had Percy died too early, Katie would be the child of the prophecy and no one would've ever known. She would die mysteriously soon after and no one would ask questions.

So ive been thinking about demigods having different powers based on their parent's eiphets
And i made Katie Gardiner a daughter of Demeter Erinys definitely not to go with my headcanon of the Stolls being sons of Psychopomp Hermes.
For background Erinys was a 'cult' title given to Demeter, it means wrath or fury. It was given when she was mourning the loss of Persephone and dressed in black and hid in a cave to grieve.
Since Demeter is the goddess of farming that her grief caused things to start dying and basically winter and famine to happen.
Thats the short version. I left a few things out, like how Zeus sent the literal Fates to go help her out and moderate her grief and how she also got the eiphet of Lousie (bather) because she bathed in a river to purify herself afterwards.
So basically my idea is that Katie can make shit rot. (She also probably has really bad seasonal depression but that ain't a super power) and possibly have a tiny bit of control over winter?
Gods dammit Rick just utilize the gods' eiphets. You have so much untapped potential there

child-demigod of the early incarnation of Demeter who cannot die... because half of him is already dead, and the other half of him is forever alive. The child of Demeter, the goddess of life and death.
Hello Anon,
Thank you for reaching out. That is an interesting concept.
Demeter is very much a goddess that is linked to life and death due to her role in agriculture and her protection of the sacred law. A law connected to the cycle of life and death in ancient times.
A demigod or godly child of Demeter in that form in particular would be especially powerful. I have a feeling that is why Persephone is so powerful herself. There were some who feared Persephone more than Hades in their worship. That's why you never underestimate or disrespect Demeter. She's incredibly important and strong.
Thanks for the ask!

Adventures of Chika Hanabusa: The Restoration of Earth
Disclaimer: This book follows the events of Percy Jackson and Heros of Olympus fanfic, this fanfic will not include Trails of Apollo, The Kane Chronicles, and Magnus Chase.
Chapter 2: Training
Chika PoV
We have been up in the sky for 3 hours. Reyna is pretty good at riding a Pegasus, she must have ride it to battle at times.
"So, Dad, are you going back to the farm once we made it to camp Jupiter and where did you put all of the stuff?" I asked him while he sat behind me.
He showed me a tiny green pouch, "This tiny green pouch contains all of the stuff and it is magical. Your recruiter, Reyna, says that it was created by the children of Vulcan and Trivia respectively. I will probably go back to the farm; I can take the bus to get home. I will Iris Message you once I get back." He says as he opens the pouch the shows a golden light, I can see all of my clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste, books, and other stuff all in that tiny pouch.
"Thank you, Reyna, for helping me out with the Giants. Sorry, I wasn't much help." I say as I rub the back of my head and close my eyes for a bit.
“You weren’t bad Chika; you did well against the giants. Your father trained you well. Later in the day, do you want to spar?” Reyna asked as she looked at me with her eyes. Woah her eyes are intense, it’s like she is challenging me in a fight.
“Sure, I don’t spar for a bit. How close are we to Camp Jupiter?” I asked with uncertainty.
Reyna smiles in a teasing, lighthearted way, and says "We are only a minute away from the camp." As she finished her sentence, the white pegasus landed at the front of the Caldecott maintenance service tunnel and then the white pegasus started running into the tunnel. Dang this horse is crazy. As the pegasus ran, suddenly the tunnel led to the area that shows the status of different gods.
“Welcome to the Temple Hall, where we go to sacrifice and pray to the Gods. But we are supposed to be in New Rome. Someone must have manipulated the tunnels to the Temple Hall" Reyna says as she begins to look around to see if it's trapped by enemies and gripping her sword.
"Relax Praetor, it was I who led you here." Says a lady in a floral dress comes up to us. She has black hair with grains around her hair and warm brown eyes. I know who this woman is.
"Demeter," Father said in shock and all three of us bowed in front of her.
"Ceres, I have brought your Greek daughter to our camp, and I did as you asked," Reyna says in a loud, assertive voice.
"You don't need to call me that now. Don't want to deal with the split personality business again. Thanks to you, the satyr, and the son of Hades, we gods don't have to deal with the crisis anymore. I shall also thank you for bringing my daughter here, I will give Camp Jupiter a good harvest. Isshin and Chika, how was the trip." Demeter says in a soft low tone, her soft tone is how people think Mother Nature sounds like: compassionate, motherly, and full of patience.
“The trip is fine Demeter. Our daughter was about to cheer for her school. As you can see with her wearing her cheer uniform." He points to me wearing my cheer uniform.
"I can tell, daughter I want to see your cheer routine. Do you want to cheer for Mommy?" Mother says with a big warm smile and then she hugs me and kisses me on the cheek like crazy. Reyna looks on with sadness and a little bit of envy. I'm guessing she is not close with her godly parents.
“I will but I did promise Reyna that we will spar for a bit," I say with a shaking voice. I hope I don’t embarrass Mother with my cheer routine.
“It’s ok I can wait; I think it will be more appropriate if you guys’ spar at Bacchus Garden. I will talk to your father, and I can take him to his farm, he doesn't need the bus." Mother says with confidence with abilities. She grabbed my father in a bridal carry while Father blushed, and Mother had a flirty smile.
“Take care daughter and make sure you are safe," Father tells me before he gets transported back to the farm. Reyna takes my hand and leads me to Baccus Garden, it was a long walk.
“Now are you sure you can fight in your cheer uniform?” Reyna questions as she points to me.
“Yeah, I can, I fight in skirts and dresses a lot so it’s no big deal. Anyway, what happened to your pegasus.” I asked while she held her sword against me from a couple of feet.
"Sagittarius moves back into the stable, he is fine. So, are you ready?" Reyna asked in a loud demanding voice.
"I am," I answered calmly while I uncapped my pencil that became a celestial bronze scythe. She ran at me and slashed upward but I blocked it with my scythe. Dang she is strong I thought to myself while she hit me with a barrage of slashes, and I kept on blocking it.
“It seems your father taught you well. You can block me, but let’s if you can handle hand-to-hand combat.” She says as she moves her sword and uses it to drag my scythe out of my hands. She tries to punch me in the face, and I block it. She grabs my hand that I use to block, flips me over into the ground and tries to pin me down. Oh my god, she is on top of me. She's awesome, Chika you must focus I say to myself. I decided to move from the back and decide to try to wrap my legs around her head. Reyna saw what I was trying to do, moved my legs out of her head, and pushed my leg down. I decided to use my hips to push her off me and I finally got on top of her. I decided to use the armbar on her left arm, a move when you wrap both legs around the person's arm and use your hand to push down your opponent's knuckles. She escapes by using her right arm to push my leg apart and she moves over to be on top of my body and cradle pin me to the ground.
“You have some decent ground skills, but it could be better. Anyway, this is just basic training. I’m trying to see how good you are.” Reyna explains as she holds me up.
“You are very good Reyna; I hope I didn’t completely suck. You won our sparring match." I say with a loud voice, a huge smile and my eyes sparkling with excitement like an anime character.
“It’s not about winning; it is about survival. Work on some ground drills and you will be fine. Thank you for sparring with me. I was shocked that Ceres requested me to recruit you. I’m guessing that she wants both of us to go on the quest if that were the case.” Reyna says as we both sit on the ground.
“Thank you, Reyna, for taking the time to take me to Camp Jupiter and for being kind and guiding me on what I need to improve on. I hope I don't sound like a suck-up, but I think you are the best fighter that I know, and I hope we can be friends." I say shaking enthusiastically.
"I know many people in courts who try to suck up to me, but you are not one of them. You are just a grateful person. It was a nice sparring match, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you. I want to let you know that you are a part of the second cohort. I have one Greek demigod who was part of the fifth cohort and his name was Percy Jackson, you might be the first Greek demigod to be a part of the best cohorts. But enough about that, I do want to see you cheer in this garden along with your mother." Reyna says with a small smirk.
"Thank you for talking about the cohort business and I hope I don't disappoint you with my performance," I say in excitement. Oh my god, she wants to see me cheer I thought to myself. Reyna looks a bit taken back at my squealing but just has an accepting smile. Mother came out of nowhere.
"Lady Ceres, we just finished sparring," Reyna says as she and I bowed in front of my mother. It is odd to see Mother getting bowed to but I guess it's because she’s an Olympian goddess.
"Praetor please stop calling me by my Roman name. Just call me Demeter dear, anyway I can't wait to see my baby cheer. You got your pompoms?" Demeter asked and I nodded yes while I picked up pompoms from the tiny green potch. I move into the center of the garden, and I see Reyna and Mother watching me.
I shook my pompoms and I yelled "Give me a M-O-T-H-E-R" as I moved my arms and pompoms to match the letters I yelled.
"M-O-T-H-E-R" Mother shouts as she claps her hand. I dance by lifting my leg in the high kick and spinning myself with the tip of my shoe. I moved my left leg in front of my right leg, and I did some breakdancing. Once I was done with the dancing part of my routine, I did a split and shook my pompom and I jumped back in front of them in the air and I touched my toes while I was in the air. I did some somersaults and cartwheeling and I feel my body shaken and tired from all of that tumbling. I hold my arms in the arm and shack my pompoms to end my routine. Both Reyna and Demeter clapped while I was finished.
"That was good, sweetie. I will spend about two more days here; I should be able to visit my Roman children. I will tell you about the quest that I want you to do and, I have a secret that I need to share with you as well that I will tell tomorrow. Praetor will you take my daughter to her cohort." Mother says in a hurry for something while she ‘poof’ away. She holds me up and hugs me one last time.
I noticed that the sky was getting darker, I guess it already evening now. Reyna holds my hand and we walk to leave the garden.
"It was a nice routine, I hope you find the second cohort a good place to settle down. I guess Lady Ceres will tell us what she wants to do. I'm happy that Lady Ceres is very loving towards you, not many demigods have that kind of relationship with their godly parents." Reyna says in a low, sad tone. Dang, I bet she's not the only one who has a cold relationship with their godly parents. I'm just fortunate that I have a mother goddess like Demeter as a mom. Speaking of Mother, what secrets does she want to tell me and what is it like to be part of quests? Reyna led me to a pure white building that says Second Cohort in Latin and the letters are gold. The building is comparable to that of a settlement of Roman gladiators or even a military camp because it has ten bunk beds, and the area seems very cramped.
“My name is Hyun Moon and I’m a centurion of the Second Cohort.” A Korean woman with long black hair and green eyes says as she greets us. She was wearing a black dress with floral patterns around the dress. Reyna left us to probably do her praetor duties.
"You're such a cute cheerleader. I bet you would have been a good fighter if you got into this cohort. Anyway, I can't wait to get to know you tomorrow. We should sleep now, here is your bed." Hyun says as she points to the bunker bed.
"And here is the bathroom" as she points to the huge bathroom. I went to the big room. It has many tubs, and showers, and has different sinks. I got out my toothpaste and toothbrush to brush my teeth. Once that was done, I moved to the lower bunk bed and lay down. I feel too tired from the cheer routine and the whole sparring with Reyna, so I begin to close my eyes. "Are you seriously going to bed with your cheer uniform on? Well, nighty-nighty cheerleader" Hyun asked with a mischievous smile and she laughed like a cartoon villain. Hyun might be trouble, or it could be that her teasing others is her way of affection. She could be my friend or might be a bully, I don’t know. I will see tomorrow, I thought to myself before I fell asleep in the lower bunk bed
