My theory on Miko’s apparent electrical powers, made into a 2-ish minute video.
I didn’t count a moment in Ping where Miko’s eyes spark after using a speed boost because it’s shown that the exact same thing happens to other characters after they use speed boosts.

Okay, so, crisis averted. Both of them, really. Red Robin had not asked or attempted to get any more of Danny's drink and the World Ending Crisis was less World Ending and more World Threatening. Either way, no one is hyped up in lethal amounts of caffeine and the world is in no more pieces than it had been before.
That brings attention to a new problem, though. It's uniquely Danny's problem and Constantine and Zatanna and Deadman won't stop laughing at him. He's also pretty sure that Raven is laughing at him in the privacy of her mind, so that's making him feel worse.
The problem is that every single hero that had been at the meeting a week ago that was not a part of the JLD has been overly concerned about him.
So what if he half died when he was fourteen and therefore will never look over either fourteen or eighteen? So what if he consumes enough caffeine to kill an elephant within a few minutes? What is he gonna do, die? That's not a real threat as long as he only fights as Phantom.
Ignoring the fact that he can, in fact, get hurt to the point of near death as Phantom. It's not like anyone knows that, though! Besides, ghosts run on god rules. They can't die, only fade when forgotten. People aren't likely to forget about most ghosts, though, even if they can't remember their names.
He's not gonna share that, though. Let Batman keep his contingency that won't work because the only contingency that will work for Phantom is the one he made himself. Tried and tested! He's marked it off of his Bingo Card.
Anyway. Heros and their kids/proteges have been trying to track him down for the entire week. He can't risk even leaving the House of Mysteries because the Supers are all probably listening out for him and they can't hear him through magic. It sucks. He just wants to go get a cup of coffee as Danny. The second he leaves, though, the Supers will be on him like bloodhounds. He'd leave as Danny, but the rest of the JLD don't know what he looks like as Danny and he'd like to keep it that way, thank you very much. Being stuck as Phantom was going to start causing issues to his human half if he doesn't get to leave soon.
Should he risk it? Is coffee that won't kill him really worth risking the Supers finding out his civilian identity? Sure, they wouldn't tell anyone, but he didn't like the idea of someone being able to pick him out of a crowd when all he wanted to do was blend in. It's why he avoided Gotham and Bludhaven, actually, but that's both self explanatory and another story for another time.
"You're still here?" Zatanna sat on the couch beside him. "You're normally gone by now. You can't not be tired of us yet."
He sighed and sunk down into the couch slightly. "Believe me, I'm tired of being stuck here, but I can't leave. I can't leave as a human because you guys don't know what I look like and, no offense, but I'd like to keep it that way. I can't leave as I am now because Superman will be on my ass quicker than I can blink!" He whined this time, "I just want a cup of coffee."
"What about your special brew?" Raven asked, coming into the room.
"I want to drink coffee as a human. That stuff will kill me if I drink it as a human."
"At least you know your limits."
"That sounded like a dig at someone, Z."
"It was."
"Why don't you just go out under a protection spell?" Raven offered, "We could cast one over you and you could leave. Superman can't hear through magic, so he won't be able to tell. Neither will Superboy."
Danny thought for a second. "You're a genius, Raven! Has anyone ever told you that?"
"A few times," she blushed.
"Well, it needs to be said more!"
Zatanna laughed. "Alright, kid, let's get you outside before you drive yourself crazy."
Practically vibrating in place, Danny waited for the protection spell to settle over him. The second it did, he was out the door and wandering the streets of whatever city the House of Mysteries decided to drop him as Danny instead of Phantom.
"Who are you," was not the question or voice he wanted to hear the second he stepped into the open as himself.
"Danny," he squeaked out through his absolute panic. He didn't dare turn around.
The sound of fabric moving minutely clues him in to the second person behind him. What the hell were these two doing out? It's the middle of the day and there's no attacks going on anywhere in Gotham!
"Where did you come from?" Robin asked.
Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit! This was really bad! Why did the House drop him *here* of all places? Does it *want* him to die again? It was very painful the first time, thank you very much! "Illinois?"
"Was that a question or an answer?" Why is Red Robin here now?!
"An-an answer?"
"Ah, you guys are scaring the little guy!" That was Nightwing. They're surrounding him! Why is Nightwing here? This is Gotham, not Bludhaven. "Give him some room to breathe."
They did not, in fact, give him room to breathe. Maybe coming outside was a bad idea. If he gets out of this no more dead than he already was, he was going to move to the middle of nowhere and become a hermit. Smallville is a town in the middle of nowhere, right? He'll retire as Phantom and move to Smallville until the people get suspicious and burn him as a witch-!
Maybe moving to a big city would be a better idea. Or locking himself in the basement of the House of Mysteries. Yeah, yeah that's a good idea.
"-even listening?"
Oh shit. They were still talking to him! Now is not the time to panic! "Gottagobye!" And then he was running.
Good job not panicking, Danny.

If it’s ok, can you indulge my love for The Amazing Digital Circus?
I was just thinking of the gang with an s/o who’s seen as the rock of the group that is always strong willed, happy go luck, helpful and supportive. But they stumble upon their s/o just having an episode where they’re crying in frustration and punching a wall to calm down before going back to pretending like nothing happened?
I have a thing for strong willed characters hiding their perceived weakness from others.
Be strong for them
Thanks for the request! I feel for this type of character a lot. Now you didn't specify if you wanted the whole crew and you being the s/o of one. Or individual. So I'll do individual so that whoever your fav is their'll be something for them. Except Bubble though cause I just can't come up with stuff for them, sry.
Caine
Despite being an AI who doesn't really understand humans I feel he would notice your inner turmoil. He kind of has too! Cause he has to watch for and know if someone is going to abstract. Moving on he appreciates you being strong willed and a joy to be around seeing as how it makes others stick around longer. You can't have a circus without performers after all. Caine being how he is he would most likely just appear in your room while your having a breakdown multiple times because he wants something from you not even noticing you having trouble mentally. Only time he would really notice is if you were at the apex of that breakdown when he showed up. I can 100% see him just floating a few feet away from you one eyebrow raised for a minute with worried eyes before he asked if you were ok. If you said yes, despite what he think's he'll believe you. First few times. If you say no and seem to be looking for some comfort he'll do his best but he isn't exactly good at that kind of thing. More likely then not he wont really touch you but he'll give some words of encouragement and probably ask if their is anything you want (except a way out of the digital realm.) And whatever you ask for you'll have in an instant. But their is a limit. He can't be spoiling you now. He still needs your input on things and giving gifts wont be special anymore if you get whatever you want whenever you want. And after doing the bare minimum and seeing you bounce back and be how you always are he'll assume that what he did worked perfectly and your fine now. He's a little dense I'll be honest. 2.5/10 comfort
Gangle
Now Gangle isn't exactly good with emotions. She has tons sure. But handling them is another story. But you being there and always seemingly in a good mood nothing really affecting you will help her keep calm. I mean just having an anchor can make stuff you usually can't deal with seem small. (Especially if you stick up to Jax for her. Or better yet get her confident enough to do it herself.) When she walked in on you having a breakdown first thing her mind would go to is that your on the verge abstracting which causes her to panic and make the whole thing worse. She doesn't try to it's just a lot all at once. Especially considering how you don't usually show this kind of stuff. Now once the initial shock has worn off and at least she has calmed down some she'll be pretty good at helping you calm down. I mean she's a cinnamon roll. Even if her ways of comfort don't work well just knowing she's trying will definitely help. Now if you cope with more self destructive ways she'll be more worried but try her best to trust you. Though that doesn't mean she'll just let you punch things, especially things that could hurt you (I've punched a few walls in my time and I can safely say it hurts.) Now when you just snap back to how you usually are nothing expect the red eyes and dried tear streams on your face will cause a whole load of more worry in her. How long has this been going on?! Are you ok?! Can she do anything?! DO YOU STILL LOVE HER!?! If you don't accept her help she'll probably start to spiral and take that as you don't trust her enough or you don't think she can help you. So for her sake, and yours let her help. Cause if you do that'll lead to a whole lot of trust and make a very sturdy base for your relationship. It'll also help her get better with emotions as a whole. She wishes she could do more for you but she can and will do what she can with what she has. 8/10 comfort
Zooble
Oof. This probably isn't going to end well. It's basically like a angsty teen trying to comfort someone they care about. Zooble probably acts like she hates how happy and upbeat you are. But she doesn't. When she's laying in bed not wanting to get up the thought of going on an adventure and watching you be dumb on purpose makes her smile and get up. Sure every day is the same in the circus, but with you there it's a nice version of repetitiveness. Now Zooble has a lot of problems. Everyone in the circus does. But if she walked in on your having a breakdown I feel like she would honestly just turn around and leave. Not because she doesn't care. But because she feels she'll make it worse if she stays. Every 5 minutes or so she'll poke her head back in your room to see how your doing. Probably accompanied with a quiet "You uhhh. You doing ok?" if your still crying. Now if she peaked her head in and you were back to normal she might honestly think she hallucinated you crying like that. But their are some things you can't hide. Like puffy eyes or how your voice is a little wavy from crying. So knowing even less what to do now she'll just join you in your room and sit on your bed hoping that just her being around will be enough. Now if you break down again and start venting about what is worrying you she'll sit there and listen intently. If not she'll think that your still not doing ok but she doesn't really know how to bring that out. Or help with it. Overall her comfort is a little lacking but she's trying her best. 4.5/10 comfort
Kinger
Now I headcannon that Kinger is really, really, REALLY good at comfort. I mean did you see the impenetrable fortresses door, and how it was being held up. I don't think a single person ever who is good at making pillow forts is bad at comfort. I feel like overall he would be pretty indifferent to you being all happy though he would appreciate the supportive vibe you bring. He's crazy, I'll just be honest about that. But he seems to be surprisingly resilient as he never gets worse, or better. He just is. When he walks in on you freaking out he doesn't flinch or is surprised. He's been in the digital circus a long time. And he's lost many. He understands why. So he just calmly walks in gives you a light hug No idea how. He doesn't have arms. and a quick forehead kiss. He sits you two down on the floor and makes a little pillow wall around you two. Then he (in a surprisingly calm voice) asks what's troubling you. Now you don't exactly have a choice of if you do or don't tell him. He's lost to many to just leave you on your own in this. So he'll sit there a hand resting on your knee while you mentally prepare yourself. Out of everyone he's the most likely to genuinely and long term help you calm down. He's seen many things, been through many things. No matter what it is that's worrying you it wont surprise him and he can probably help. 10/10 comfort
Ragatha
Well aren't you two just the perfect duo Ragtha is pretty mentally drained having the always be the one that everyone rely on. She was the only anchor for this place the only one keeping everyone spirits high. Then you showed up and made the work 50/50. That's what initially made you catch her eye. You two have enough infection happiness and good vibes to make just about anyone have a good day. Though their are diminishing returns the digital circus wouldn't be the same without you two. When she walks in on your falling apart she reacts two ways. One she also starts freaking out (Just instinct at this point. I mean you saw her in the pilot, every time Pomni started breaking down she interrupted it.) And two a whole lot of understanding on where your coming from. She sits down with you and lets your get it all out before speaking. She asks if your ok, if she can do anything, and what caused it. Once you explain that it's just all so much. The circus, having to be strong for everyone else. It puts so much pressure on you. On hearing that Ragatha breaks into tears flipping the comfort giver and receiver. Once she has gotten most of it out and can make comprehensible sentences again she explains how she's going through the same. On hearing that you feel really bad. You've only been here what a year and your already breaking down over it. But you've always had Ragatha there to lighten the load. But she's been here so much longer doing the exact same but without anyone else to help her. So you make it a kind of personal mission from then on to not make your problems hers and help her out when and wherever you can. -3/10 Comfort. She just had a lot of stuff bottled up and ended up making you worry about even more.
Jax
Jax's first thought would probably be "Oh great, another Ragatha to deal with." But something about you isn't as annoying to him as Ragatha. He actually enjoys and appreciates all that you do for him. And the others too I guess. Now be warned Jax deals with a lot of stuff with humor. And his sense of humor is putting others through anguish mental, emotional, and physical. So when he first finds you crying will most likely make a joke about you being a cry baby or "So you finally broke huh? I always wondered how long it would take" making you feel much worse about it. When if he notices that he'll feel bad and stop maybe. He'll more likely then not just exist in your room, leaning against a wall or grabbing random items off of shelves/your desk to fiddle with. Now when you snap back to how you usually are I really feel like he'll just be like "Oh cool. You fine. Well I'm gonna go get some food." then leave you alone with your thoughts. (I'm sorry to all you Jax fans it's just I don't go for looks like most do. I'm entirely attracted to personality. And Jax's isn't great. I mean Gooseworx confirmed that he isn't like nice deep down. He's just an a$&hole. So if Jax is your fav my Tumblr ain't for you.) 0/10
Pomni
You and Ragatha keep Pomni in one piece. (I mean if Ragatha wasn't in the pilot I feel like Pomni would already be abstracted.) So she kind of clings to you. Not physically but she would fall apart pretty quickly without you there. So when you asked her to grab something for you she did without a second thought. But she wasn't expecting to come back to hearing crying followed by a loud thump in your room. She sprints over and throws the door open only for you to be completely ok and sitting at your desk. You thank her for grabbing it for you then go back to what you were doing making her think she's gone of the deep end and is hearing things. But then it happens again, and again. Leading her to believe your just hiding something from her. So next time it happens she sneaks up to your door and carefully peaks inside only to see your tugging at your hair tears streaming down your face. You punch the wall making her jump and make some noise. Your eyes lock onto the small crack in between the door and the frame you two locking eyes. She blushes heavily then slowly opens the door basically admitting to eavesdropping. She was just worried is all. You quickly clean yourself up and apologize for having her see you like that only causing her to worry more. She doesn't push it knowing from experience how that feels but from that day on she tries to not put as much pressure on you. And makes an effort to return the favor when she can. 4.5/10 comfort (I sincerely enjoyed writing this. Cause I am also a sucker for that kind of character. Hope you enjoyed it!)
xoxo, Jester

PM and ADA deal Theory
Hey guys, friendly reminder that Mori is likely still gonna ask for someone from the ADA to join the PM. It honestly hurts my soul to think that the ADA will lose someone this soon after all the shit in this arc went down but Mori isn’t one to care about that kind of stuff.
SEASON FIVE SPOILERS
This is about 1.7k words so be warned
I know a lot of people are sold on the theory that it’ll probably be Tanizaki since Asagiri is big on foreshadowing and Tanizaki does have a homicidal side but I don’t think he’d let himself be put in a position to where his sister might be in danger or get a target on her back. He’d probably run away or kill the people in question before that happened. Not to mention since his run in with Akutagawa and the black lizard that he sort of hates most if not all of the mafia members. He was so ready to go to war with the PM to defend the agency and someone like this would be super hard to control, deal with the ADA or not.
Mori isn’t stupid, in fact he’s very calculating and very cunning and who are his biggest obsessions? He’s always so focused on Dazai and Yosano but both of these are off limits in his eyes. Yosano is off limits because of the terms of the deal with Fukuzawa and Dazai is off because Mori wants him to come back on his own. Now we have Kyouka, Atsushi, Kenji, Ranpo  and Kunikida left to choose from.
Kunikida is off the table I think because he’s a child bombing away from just completely breaking. There is a part of me that believes Mori could pick Kunikida solely to break him and watch Fukuzawa and Dazai suffer but Mori is also the type of boss that doesn’t want to waste powerful allies if he doesn’t need to. I mean, he’s literally letting Tachihara choose his loyalties, he’ll probably still get punished severely but Mori isn’t one to just waste men unless it’s for good reason or worth the risks. Also Kunikida is Fukuzawa’s successor and something tells me that Mori doesn’t wanna deal with the strict moral types.
Ranpo is definitely off the table. Fukuzawa would go batshit if Mori picked him. He just lost his childhood best friend. Do you think he’s gonna let Mori take his son next? No he will not. Also Ranpo would blatantly refuse to work with him. He’s smart enough to survive but Ranpo is disinterested in most things and Fukuzawa is really the only one who can make him do something. I don’t think Mori would want to deal with that either.
Now we have Atsushi, Kenji and Kyouka. Mori usually chooses children to take under his wing because they’re easy to manipulate and easy to mold into his ideal subordinates. However Kyouka was already in the mafia once and Kouyou even used up her slight favor with Mori to let her leave the mafia with no consequences. I don’t think he’d want to deal with the hassle of internal conflict since Kouyou would be pissed if he took Kyouka away from the light that she enjoys so much. However much Kouyou wants to deny that she can’t help Kyouka anymore, she’s only human and she’s very much attached to the Kyouka who shares a similar past and ability.
Kenji’s situation is kind of hard to determine. As stated, Mori does prefer to mold and manipulate children rather than adults but Kenji is kind of an oddity among humans. Not because of his ability but because of his personality. He’s very much a “you fuck around and find out” type of guy is willing to believe the best in people despite what they may do or have done. I don’t see many reasons why Mori wouldn’t choose him other than there are better options than Kenji. Sure Kenji is super powerful with a very useful gift but there are other members that would fit his goals better.
Now Atsushi, he’s the biggest contender for the mafia recruit in my mind for a few reasons. Now we saw in the series that there were gonna be three main villains (The Guild, the Decay of Angels and the Order of the Clock Tower) and now we have finished out with two of them. This means that we’re possibly getting into the last major arc or two of the main plot of the story and there are still so many unanswered questions about Atsushi.
Atsushi was deemed the envy of all ability users by Fyodor which was why Shibusawa originally held an interest in him. My question is why Fyodor was interested enough in Atsushi to know of him and what is their connection that Fyodor was even able to know of him. Fyodor is a genius but the orphanage headmaster said that he was a randomly dumped toddler and he lived most of his life in a cage in the orphanage. This in itself is fishy but I’ll get to that in a second. Moreover, Atsushi’s ability seems like it just resists almost all other abilities with the ability to cut through space itself and high regeneration abilities that causes most wounds to go away instantly when he’s in his full tiger form, most other abilities don’t affect him when he’s fully a tiger.
Who is called the most powerful ability user? Natsume is, and he is able to turn into a cat. Seeing the pattern here? When did the headmaster die? When he was trying to find Atsushi and talk to him again. It’s very suspicious timing and I wholeheartedly believe that he was silenced by someone who didn’t want Atsushi knowing something important about himself. And then we have the seven billion bounty that was put on his head because of his ability. I don’t think that it’s a coincidence that Fitzgerald, who wanted to find The Book, wanted the tiger so badly that he was willing to spend that much.
Asagiri is a beast at foreshadowing and he doesn’t do anything for kicks, all of his moves are deliberate. There is something about Atsushi that we’re missing and I’m willing to bet that Mori, who was going to accept the bounty, wants to know what it is as much as we do. Atsushi’s strange ability, the holes in his past from before the orphanage, Fyodor and Shibusawa’s interest in him, his correlation to Natsume, his probable connections to locating the book and the fact that Dazai was coincidentally there to save him when he came to Yokohama? Yeah, there’s definitely something up with Atsushi and the poor kid doesn’t even realize it.
So yes, I do think that Mori either a) wants to figure out Atsushi’s situation in relation to everything or b) he knows something and wants to exploit it out of him. My second point is that Mori wants to break Dazai down and build him up as the perfect PM boss. Mori is someone who manipulates and breaks from the sidelines then watches conflict and in the aftermath, glues the pieces of what once was back together in a collage of his own liking. He knows he can’t beat Dazai but he can make him suffer. Who is Dazai the closest to at the agency? Atsushi.
Dazai always says, “Atsushi and the others” while making sure Atsushi makes it out alive in any situation that he is in. Dazai has a big soft spot for Atsushi, the kid he took in as a mentor and the kid who wholeheartedly believes without any hesitation that he is a good person. He brought his own chair and made a home in Dazai’s heart without his permission. Atsushi knows he was in the PM, knows he’s the reason for a lot of Akutagwa’s issues, knows about some of the atrocities he’s committed but still smiles genuinely at him. Of course he doesn’t know everything but Atsushi is probably Dazai’s biggest apologist (It’s not Akutagawa but that's for a different post). Atsushi is the personification of Oda’s last wish to Dazai and Mori definitely knows that he can hurt Dazai by hurting his beloved mentee.
Mori is also very aware of the new generation of soukoku. If he’s able to wrangle and manage Akutagawa (he’s alive shut up) a little more because Atsushi is his partner then all the more reason to choose him. Atsushi covers all the bases, a mysterious power that could make his organization that much more untouchable, mess with Dazai, mess with the agency and manage his own employees better. It doesn’t help that Atsushi’s mental state isn’t the best. He’s not a kid but he’s traumatized and doesn’t have the same development other 18 year olds do, and that can be just as easily to manipulate as a child. It would be difficult because Atsushi genuinely believes in Dazai with everything he is but every person is able to break and Mori is especially good at that.
I know that Fukuzawa’s ability is the reason we don’t see any more late night weretiger situations but Atsushi has so much more control now than when he did at the beginning of the series. It’s also very much possible that Mori is looking for a degree of uncontrollable tiger to help him with his goals. It’s also been confirmed that pain can manage his transformations as seen with his collar in BSD BEAST.
It also doesn’t help that Asagiri tends to go through the trauma route to have his characters develop and experiencing the “darkside” of Yokohama just may be what he thinks Atsushi needs to develop more.
So yeah, I think Mori may choose Atsushi as the new PM member but don’t quote me on this if I’m wrong, it’ll be embarrassing. They also may just throw this plotline out the window since both sides suffered this past arc, they may find it illogical to go through with the deal when the truce between the PM and ADA is still sensitive but I doubt it. Mori isn’t one to care for those things.

Thoughts on unsub spencer reid fics?
Hi! I'm not sure if you wanted more of a general answer or meant this as a headcanon or gen request, so I'm just going to go purely on vibes and answer this as a question.
Spencer as an Unsub - Thoughts
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: Anything negative said here is absolutely not an insult towards any specific writer or fic. I don't really read unsub Reid fics, due to facts I'm about to get into, so I'm really not knowledgeable enough to be throwing shade 💀 This is personal opinion!
I personally would need a lot of convincing to believe in an "unsub" Spencer Reid.
In Criminal Minds, it's clear from very early into the show that Spencer is very empathetic with certain unsubs. The entire team have their own types of cases that they get more personally involved in (Morgan and cases involving child victims, JJ and apparent suicides, Emily and quote unquote battered women cases) but Spencer is the only one whose personal attachment to cases leaves him empathising with the unsub instead of the victim.
He's the only member of the team who could have seen himself committing violent acts the way unsubs do had his life veered down a different path. And, based on Spencer's background and the psychology of the show, he's probably right to be concerned.
He's a white male, at the peak of the show in his mid to late thirties, with a background of abuse and a family history of mental illness. By season four, we know he's highly skilled with a gun, and by season 12/13, we see that he can be pushed to violence when he is at the very edge of his limitations.
And then they make his character so intrinsically moral that you never question him ever again.
To a certain extent, Criminal Minds is about the perpetual cycles of abuse that human kind can inflict upon itself. Many of the unsubs were once victims, some of them perhaps still are. The heroes of the story are characters who have been able to break the cycle.
Spencer is neglected as a child. He has an absent father abandon him, a mother with schizophrenia who does physically beat him when she is having an episode. He is bullied heavily in school for his high IQ and his lack of social skills. But he is shown to deeply care for him mother and empathise with her deeply instead of coming to resent her like many of the unsubs in that situation. He resents his father, for sure, but instead turns that resentment into drive, leading him to "just keep getting more PhDs." And his personal experiences with bullying allow him to empathise with the unsubs that have gone through similar circumstances.
So I don't think canonically, Spencer is ever in danger of becoming an unsub. He deeply cares about the world and the people around him, and whilst he does have a kill count on the show, he either expresses deep remorse at having to oull the trigger, or it is in the best interest for everyone involved.
Basically, all that to say: I think Unsub Spencer Reid in fanfiction has to be written incredibly carefully, or it runs the risk of being very out of character. To be clear, I'm not too bothered about characters being slightly out of character in fics because it happens. I've probably written a lot of stuff where Spencer is OOC, too. And that's fine.
I do kind of draw the line at grabbing random unsub traits from the show and giving them to Spencer for a fic. For example, Spencer would never end up as a sexual sadist. He probably wouldn't be a spree killer, either. Not that anyone wants my writing advice, but if you're writing an unsub Spencer fic, think about his background and the profiles they generally give for the kind of signature/ crimes you're about to give him.
If this was a request, I apologise for the misunderstanding. But here's a little hint at what I might do with a general "unsub Reid" request.
☆ It would most likely take place after the events of Season 12/13.
☆ It's angst or nothing.
☆ The basic plot: Reid's headaches come back after taking a blow in the field. He tries seeking help for it but can't find any relief. On his next case, because of his chronic pain, he makes a mistake that gets his teammate, the reader, shot. The unsub escapes, but the reader falls into a coma. When it looks like reader is not going to pull through, he tracks down the unsub and beats his to death after a brawl. Massive overkill. The reader pulls through that night, and he feels no guilt for getting that monster off the street. But each time the readers health takes a turn, or they require a new surgery, he is compelled to go back out there and track down and kill another serial killer until the reader finally wakes up.
☆ I don't think it'd be very well received because there would be no morally grey smut. This is some tragic angst shit only, lmao.
☆ please don't put a request for this in my inbox. If I feel like writing it later, I might, I don't have the brain power right now, though 💀
That's all I've got right now, but I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on unsub Reid :)

The importance of setting rules for your fictional universe
I talked about this a little in another recent post in terms of rules for character design (not any like…theory or rules for designing characters, but rather rules for WHY a character looks a certain way) and it made me think more about world building in general.
I’ll be talking mainly about Hellaverse stuff since it’s on my mind, at first because I rewatched HB and now again b/c the HH trailer dropped.
B/c I gotta be honest, I’m pretty sure the world of Hazbin Hotel is gonna fall flat for me the same way that Helluva Boss has.
And as a reminder, I’m not trying to bash Helluva and Hazbin. I enjoyed the recent Hazbin trailer, but I think it’s really important to examine and think about story stuff.
Critique/Review below!
I think one of, if not THE biggest thing keeping HB and HH from feeling like a fully realized world is that we don’t really have any rules or standards for what is considered “normal” in Hell.
And since there’s no baseline for what is considered moral and immoral in hell, characters and their reactions to violence, crime, verbal abuse, body shaming, etc. seem to switch rapidly between sharing an earthly human morality, where everything is mirroring our current day society, and an anything goes kill-steal-maim total anarchy ideology.
To me the HH/HB version of hell comes off like the purge, except actually there ARE some crimes that are off limits. Like murder is okay sometimes and of course there are assassins everywhere that’s just a normal freelance sort of business. But also there’s organized crime and if you steal from a bank you go to hell-jail.
For example, after “Exes and Oh’s”, I had assumed killing other Imps or hellborn must be considered a crime, the way that Crim’s behavior and killing of his underlings was portrayed as completely negative and horrific. But then remembered that Millie having a neighborhood body count due to getting too competitive is mentioned as a joke, and it’s pretty clear that her family thinks of it as more of an embarrassing incident than like…an actually terrible thing to do.
I thought, “Okay, we’ll, maybe it’s just Moxxie’s Mom that was against all the violence being taught to her son.” But apparently she’s from the Wrath ring, the same ring as Millie. So was Moxxie’s Nameless Mom seen as being particularly different or strange to the what a “typical” Wrath Imp is? We can’t know.
Like. We see that imps have romantic relationships and can care deeply about each other and fall in love, just like humans do. In reference to the neighborhood bodycount thing, were Millie’s neighbors not extremely upset with her? Wouldn’t they also grieve their loved ones? Is it sometimes socially acceptable to kill other Imps like in sporting events???
Are the rules for what is seen as socially acceptable for sinners different from what’s socially acceptable for hellborn? Are there different ideas of what is socially acceptable from ring to ring?
I worry that when I ask these questions about a fictional universe, people will think I’m TRYING to dig or look for things to tear that world apart.
I promise I’m thinking about these things so deeply out of curiosity and because I want to engage with the material.
I want to understand and have fun in the fictional universe the writers have invited us all to. But if the rules of your universe are not clear, it can make it much harder for audiences to navigate the story you are trying to tell in that setting.
The HH/HB universe just does NOT have that clarity right now. Since season 2 of HB I’ve noticed that the world building has become more and more inconsistent, and if it’s supposed to now SHARE that world with HH, I really don’t know how they’re going to make their world coherent.
As a final note these are just my opinions. They are not objectively right. If you love Hh and HB and firmly believe the story is clear and the world building makes sense that’s great!! Genuinely, I am happy that the story means a lot to you and you enjoy it. These are just my personal critiques and views.

one thing that's been percolating in my mind about mina and her relationship to women's history this time through is that like... it can be tempting (for me too!) from a contemporary perspective to kind of think as "traditional" and "progressive" as opposite sides of a spectrum upon which women can be linearly placed in terms of their beliefs. but it's a little more complicated than that, obviously. mina i think can be a little jarring to the modern reader because she is as a person obviously so independent, bright, curious, and hard-working, but her vocational ambitions as expressed in the text are limited to supporting her future husband, and i think there can be a tendency to sort of slot her as like, "ok, well, she's a little bit progressive, but not that far along," or whatever, and there's, again, a lot we can do to unpack that, but for me there are two things that have been coming up for me revisiting the topic on my second time through (disclaimer: i'm an idiot with a blog who doesn't know anything about anything & if any actual experts want to weigh in please do! also if anyone has any accessible readings on the new woman please do @ me because that phrase is it turns out fucking ungoogleable):
(1) i think it's important to remember that for all human beings on earth ever, there's not a simple unidirectional relationship between internal beliefs and external action/reality, nor do beliefs come out of nowhere or out of some ether from which we pluck ideas out of pure abstraction. a lot of looking at women's history is looking at how women chose to navigate the options available to them, which both inform ideology and also make it frankly sometimes just not that important. a book that really powerfully shaped the way i think about this stuff is kathy peiss's cheap amusements: working women and leisure in turn of the century new york. the way she explores her source material for that space and time really brought home to me that it's very difficult as a woman who came of age (for example) in the US after second wave feminism to really understand just how beside the point the question of "what do i as an individual believe about women's role in society" was for (as just one example) many women in that location, class, and period. it just doesn't matter compared to things like being able to pay your rent, or being able to afford a night out once in a while - which might mean letting a guy pay your way not because you think it's "the man's job" but because you don't make enough to go out with your own money ever - so maybe you do think it's the man's job but it's not because of some like disembodied attachment to traditional gender roles, it's because the men are the ones with the fucking money!
anyway. different place, different class position, slightly later period, but the general principles from that book have really stayed with me and have been echoing thinking about mina. like: how much does an assistant schoolmistress in 1890s london make? i'm not an expert but willing to bet it's not a lot? she's an orphan, actively aware that she and jonathan have only what they can cobble together. if she remains in the professional world after her marriage, who does the labor of running a two-person household - something we here on tumblr complain in 2023 is difficult if everyone has a full-time job, and which was much more difficult with more than a century's progress in domestic technology still to go (and this isn't getting into childrearing). would their combined incomes be enough to afford a domestic servant? idk shit about the economic position of late victorian women so these are not questions i am presenting as having ostensibly "obvious" answers - i really don't know. but i think these are things that are worth considering when we think about mina, her ambitions, & her relationship to shifting cultural currents (which were really shifting quite quickly - the "new woman" was such a recent coinage at the book's publication that if you assume, for example, that the epilogue is meant to take place in its publication year, the events of the novel precede its first appearance in print), and i think it's just never really quite as simple as "well this is what she Believed." our world makes our beliefs at least as much as the other way around.
(2) the other thing that's been in my head is that in a more contemporary framework of how gender operates, it is easy to assume the dichotomy of technology/science/jobs/boy stuff vs. domesticity/home/housewife/girl stuff extends backwards throughout time forever. but, first off, domestic labor is labor and mina is still very much looking ahead at a life of working full time - just not at getting paid. but secondly, homemaking was one of many things getting brought under the umbrella of "science" in the late 19th century (along with, to name examples from the book, psychology and criminology). like a lot of things in my brain the "scientific housewife" is something i vaguely remember hearing about in some college class or book but don't have any ready cites for, but while googling last night i found this very cool recent article [linked below because the app will not fucking let me make a text link] that looks at the evolution of instruction in science, housework, and domestic science at two english day schools for girls in the late victorian/early edwardian (the kind of school i think mina may have attended and taught at, as i don't believe we're ever given much detail about her place of work), and which provides some background info on the idea of the "scientific housewife":
Scholars have since recognised that the middle-class home was “the locus of back-breaking toil” Domestic servants were not as prevalent as once thought, and in some cases it was common for mistresses to work alongside them. The average middle-class woman would likely have been at least partially a housewife, or, in other words, she would have undertaken some domestic labour herself. In contemporary culture, a link was also being forged between housework and science; historians have charted the ideology of “scientific housewifery” or “scientific motherhood”, which encouraged women to embrace science, medicine, and technology in the nineteenth century, to enhance domestic life and make it more efficient, more enjoyable, easier, and healthier for the family. Work by Judy Giles and Joanne Hollows has suggested that ideals of a modern, scientific housewife emerged in the first half of the twentieth century with the decline of domestic service. Given that many middle-class women would have been undertaking housework themselves in the nineteenth century, this article asserts that the cultural construction of the scientific housewife existed before the decline of domestic service. This article builds on the work of Nakagomi by considering the place of domestic subjects and science in schools as a window into a broader societal conceptualisation of housework and the housewife.
one interesting thing in this article is that the two schools profiled actually had strong differences in how they conceptualized and approached their domestic programming, which reminds us that big-picture ideals are always being navigated, redefined, and contested in practice. it also emphasizes that for at least some teachers and schools for girls, the teaching of science was considered an important part of the intellectual development of the students - a position, fascinatingly, NOT taken by comparable boys' schools of the period, which tended to marginalized science education in favor of the classics, which was a wonderful little reminder for me about just how incredibly fake gender is. but also i think this article (which identifies some shifts happenings in the 1890s, like really this novel came out at The fulcrum point of the culture) helps us consider that the seriousness with which mina takes her future home-making as a vocation can be read as part and parcel of the novel's fascination with modernity, technology, science, and progress - and indeed given the moral panic about lazy mothering the article mentions as arising in the press a few years later it even lets us consider that mina's status as a female victorian ideal and her temperament of someone deeply pro-science may not have appeared to be in as much tension as we might assume.

i think one thing that's always been interesting to me is that people really believe/take for granted that the federation's goal is the islanders' happiness, when we really don't have any way of knowing if that's the truth. cucurucho says it a lot, claiming to care about islanders' happiness above all else, and it's been scattered throughout some federation lore (as well as being hinted at with the reset cinematics), but that doesn't mean it's actually true-- it could still be a smokescreen of what they really want. which, imo, is not happiness.
if it's all one big experiment, supposedly one of many, the idea that this one is the one that involves seeing what happens when islanders are happy is not a provable thing still, nor is it clear what that actually means to the federation. does happiness mean the islanders are content to remain on the island? does happiness mean building relationships and connecting with others? does happiness mean self-fulfillment (something deeply immeasurable)? it's not clear what it means to the federation, nor if that is their true goal. it could be that that has nothing to do with their goal, and is a complete misdirect. it could be that cucurucho's prime directive is the islanders' happiness (not that it's very good at that), but that's meant as a tactic to stymie islander curiosity/resistance. it could be any number of things.
and i think viewing it from a more meta lens of "we cannot tell what is or is not the truth; not only are all character povs biased but so is the larger narrative presented to us." i think comparing this framework to something like the good place is helpful, in that when you assume that what you're presented with is the truth and don't look at the setting critically, you will miss the fact that things presented to you as fact by any kind of source (including the framework of the medium itself or the established setting) are suspect and should be examined further.
i can even put it in a smaller way; there are ways within a limited character pov to present things as directly happening when they are not, and these are ways that mcrp creators have utilized. playing out an event that did not actually happen, canonical hallucinations, dream sequences that are not explained as such, physical representations of metaphorical experiences, etc. etc. are ALL things that mcrp creators of done. tricking your audience is an incredibly interesting and at times vital part of mcrp. so if just one creator within their own pov can do it, why can't the whole narrative? why can't you be convinced you're in a different genre, why can't you be convinced that the physical location your characters are placed in is someplace that isn't?
all this to say, i think a major issue in terms of analyzing media like this is allowing yourself to go along with assumptions without thinking about why you're falling so easily into them as truth. making all of your lore assumptions based off the notion that it is objective fact that the federation cares about and has the goal of islanders' happiness means you are going to miss details and fixate on others without looking at the full scope of possibilities. which i think was a serious issue during the height of investigation/mystery stuff-- people fell into the trap of "i KNOW this to be true" without considering the man behind the curtain. sure, cellbit found documents indicating that the federation was founded on isla quesadilla-- considering who sent him on the trail of said documents, who's to say that that's the truth?
i think bagi is a particularly interesting investigator when it comes to this kind of thing-- she's VERY good at holding onto a lot of different possibilites in her mind, even going so far as to act on a lot of them at once, and that means she doesn't take anything for granted. having all of the data in front of you, without attempting to skew it to a theory you already have in mind (which i admit is very difficult to do! humans are biased and are geared towards pattern recognition), is an important skill when it comes to any kind of data analysis or investigation.
anyway idk where i was going with this i just started thinking about like. what is involved in good theorizing and how focusing on something you believe to be fact can lead you in the wrong direction, and i think the idea of the islander's happiness as the federation's main goal is one of those very fraught assumptions people get caught up in.

Oh! Oh, listen, question about the Morag thing. The good/bad stuff apart I mean I def agree on that in general. I read the scene a little different. We know they both aren't allowed to intervene, Aziraphale said it himself, but he holds this whole speech how he's going to help Morag and Crowley looks super gloomy and keeps trying to interrupt him but Aziraphale doesn't let him before Crowley tries a little more vehement and says that it's too late so I think neither of them could have brought her back because she was too far gone already by the time they realized how fatal the wounds were. Like they're both visibly saddened by the death. I think Crowley couldn't have done anything without risking probably even a lifetime in the torture dungeon if what he did for Elspeth (Elsbeth? Elsbet? Help) was enough to warrant years of torture even with the plausible deniability that he was high and not responsible for his actions, Aziraphale wanted to do it and would have faced less repercussions from Heaven because he's after all supposed to do the Good Thing.
Neil said they can resurrect doves and ducks and we see them do both but not humans (in the context that Crowley could help that carpet guy because the demons didn't kill him) and I think that line of what they're able to do might be not from the point of death but that they can't help if a person is already too close to death? It doesn't even matter for the plot but I'd really love to hear what everyone thinks abt it
When it comes to their powers and the kind of miracles they can do, I think there are "rules" heaven and hell have settled on, but that does not mean that those are the actual limitations they have.
Their Jimbriel hiding miracle had a strength of ~ 25 Lazarii, and Neil said that most miracles are measured in Centi- and Millilazarii, usually the later. That is one hell of a difference.
0,025 Lazarii vs. 25 Lazarii, the miracle they performed was one thousand times as strong as your regular, daily miracle, and they did that without actually meaning to. We don't know why exactly it was that strong, but now we DO know that they are capable of performing miracles on that scale.
So, technically, either of them could have saved Morag from death, but the existing rules presumably forbid resurrecting random humans—meaning Aziraphale would have gotten in some trouble, though not as much as Crowley would have.
Their powers are a result of self-actualization, which we are shown in season one when Crowley crosses the M25 simply because he imagines that he and the Bentley make it. He wants it to happen, he believes that he can make it happen, so it happens.
Most angels and demons probably have no reason or prompting to even consider doing miracles they have never seen anyone else do/that aren't a regular occurrence. But if they TRIED to do something different, they could! They absolutely could, and that is why control and isolation are such important parts of heaven as an institution.
Because if you do not control the way they think and act, then they will follow their own free will, and once they do that—well, they can do everything, anything, whatever they set their mind to. It's dangerous and a threat to the Metatron's power over heaven, so that's why they have regulations and rules. The Great War probably prompted a lot of rules too.
This inherent self-control over their powers—even though you said it might not matter for the plot—will, in my opinion, definitely play a big role in season three.

Side Effects: Morpheus x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Request based on prompts list:
Hob: I brought you your coffee (128)
Morpheus: why does she need one, it's the middle of the day?
Reader: Oh I haven't slept in 4 days (132)
Morpheus: Run (130)
Midterms are a pain the ass, forgive my language. When the times comes, twice a year, for 2 weeks I become a hermit working 24/7, limiting contact with friends and family and acting like a living zombie. Thankfully, there are just a couple of people who are not afraid to see me in this form, with messy hair, sleepy eyes, barely controlling myself and snapping at every negative or sarcastic comments. If I were to be absolutely honest, I would say that I’m not the person you can easily get to, but Hob and Morpheus were an exception to a rule. And Matthew, of course. Hob were constantly checking on my mental an psychical help, his smile and attitude making surviving a bit easier even if I never explicitly showed that, he just knew. As for Morpheus his lack of knowledge about humans and life in general made it complicated. He couldn’t understand why I spend my time poring over books instead of joining him in his Realm and it took joint effort of me, Hob AND Matthew to stuff his head with the importance of education in modern world.
“You know, Dream, in XXI century girls are allowed to study and gain knowledge on the same terms as men….”
“But…..”
“And that is exactly what I’m going to do”
“But…..”
“No buts.” I shook my head in disapproval “I’m not asking for your permission or anything like that.”
“I don’t mind your studies.” He muttered
“Don’t you?” Hob smirk “Last time you mentioned something about missing her and …..”
“Stop it!” Dream’s voice turned stone cold, his glistening with anger and embarrassment gaze focused on the man.
“Just saying the truth” Hob raised his hands in surrender “It’s not my fault you don’t like it.”
“Guys, quit it, please. As much as I enjoy the show you put on I don’t need it now, ok? Can I get any support in my approach to schooling? Matthew?”
“Yes?”
“Were you even listening to what I was saying?”
“Barely, sorry” he looked down.
“I hate you, you know.” I stood up with anger on my face “for a beings of many, many years old you should at least try to understand it. Hob, you disappointed me. Given your experience with changing times I expected more of you. And as for you Dream ….. “ I shook my head “It’s just sad, you know. I’m gonna go.” Grabbing my backpack I didn’t even listen to their voices calling after me as I left and walked straight home. Back to my books.
“Look what you both have done.” Matthew cawed
“What did WE do?” Hob’s eyes widened “you weren’t even listening to her”
“Maybe, if I were I would absolutely support her.”
“I never said I don’t stand on her side. This one did” Gadling pointed towards Dream being absolutely sure that the Dream Lord would never hurt him, even after such offensive assumption.
“Quiet!” King of Dreams got impatient and his companions immediately went silent “why is this so important to her? This … education?”
“Really, boss? Are you serious?”
“ I’m not known for joking around, am I? Now, speak”
“She is smart, ok? Like really smart. And today’s world is not exactly welcoming towards the smart women. They are constantly undermined, limited in their attempts for more, believed to be weaker than men and way to often judged only by their looks. Nothing strange in her wanting more. Education is important and helps you in life.”
“From every being in the universe you should know the effect of ignorance of existence, first-hand Dream” Hob mocked him once again and this time Dream Lord did not let it pass.
“That is enough, Hob Gadling. One more word and I will send a nightmare after you”
“No you won’t “ Matthew and Hob said in unison, knowing better.
***
Did I mention I only let a few people (and a talking Raven in)? Yes, I was angry with them all. Yes, I felt like they treated me unfair. But on the other hand I was also aware that because of being tired my reactions were a bit … exaggerated. So, the next day I decided to take a quick trip to the New Inn and grab myself something to drink, tea perhaps since too much caffeine was bad for my nervous system. It seemed, however that someone knew me better and therefore my walk was postponed.
“I brought you your  coffee” Hob was nonchalantly leaning on the doorframe, widest smile on his face reaching towards his eyes, handling me the biggest cup I’ve ever seen.”
“Appreciate it” I took it looking down and biting my lip “look, Hob I’m sorry for….”
“Hey, it’s ok. I get you are under stress, so no worries. Besides, I like this edgy and feisty side of yours.”
“Do you?” I raised an eyebrow “Well, that makes me happy. I enjoy our bantering and sarcastic relationship. You wanna come inside?”
“I thought you were studying?”
“ I was heading for a break, so might as well ask you.”
“Well, who am I to refuse a girl?” he grinned happily and moved to walk past me. Unfortunately, he did it a bit clumsily, hitting me and causing a bit of burning hot coffee to spill on me.
“Ouch, Hob!” I yelled and rushed towards the bathroom to clean the T-shirt and avoid stains and burning sides on the skin.
“I’m sorry!” he followed me quickly but bounced off the door I shut in front of his face “I did not mean to.”
“I know, but it hurts now!”
“Please let me in so I can help you!” he banged on the entry.
“In your dreams!” I spit desperately trying to clean the stain
“What happened here?” third voice came on the stage.
“Darn! What are you doing here, Morpheus?!” I opened the bathroom forgetting I was only in my bra “what?!” I yelled noting their gaze on me “Oh…. Right, just a second” covering my chest and stomach I moved towards the bedroom, grabbing first clean shirt and putting it on before coming back on sight. “What are you doing here?”
“You called my name.”
“I called…. Oh, shit! Me mentioning dreams had nothing to do with you.”
“I see.”
“Are you going to go back to Dreaming?”
“No.”
“Why?” I whined “I need to study.”
“Just a minute ago you said you were in need of a break” Hob pointed out
“Well thanks a lot Hob!”
“What? I’m just saying the truth
“Yeah, you have an annoying habit of doing that!”
“What. Happened here? Why are you hurt?” Dream interrupted us before we rushed into each other throats.
“I only brought her coffee.”
“Why does she need one? It’s the middle of the day.”
“You know Dream, for a lord of the sleeping realm you are uncharacteristically oblivious, to put it lightly” I tapped my forehead “I haven’t slept in four days. And you two are making me angry so let me tell you this is a dangerous zone you are entering.” I took a step forward, clenching fists.
“You what?”
“You heard me the first time.”
“Dream? You got paler than before. I never knew that was even possible” Hob examined the other man’s face, surprise and a bit of fear in his tone.
“Hob?”
“Yes?”
“Run.”

how to get over the belief that you "can't shift" ☆ (getting rid of limiting beliefs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HI THERE MY BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL STARS! I know it's been a while since I made an original post but I wanted to stop by because I've been getting increasingly more questions about this both from people on here and people in my real life. I actually enlisted help from @my-reality-my-rules for one of my friends and she was very helpful. I wanted to just come on here and make a little step by step list of how I would go about dissolving limiting beliefs.
I actually have had to do this before with one belief: I realized a good way into my shifting journey that I believed that shifting is real, but I didn't believe that I could do it. That it was a me problem, essentially. So here are the steps I took to kinda reframe that mindset and work on getting rid of that belief!
Tumblr media
i. Identify your limiting belief
This is obviously very important—this can just be a self-reflection type thing, or you can ask your spirit guides. @alexaprentiss on Tik Tok I think I made a video about this (we all know how I feel about getting info from Tik Tok but I like this one) where you lie/sit down, get comfy, take some deep breaths, and when you feel that your mind is pretty clear, you ask yourself, "Why am I not shifting?" or "What's stopping me from getting what I want?" and the first thing that pops in your head is your answer. Repeat this as many times as you need to get a clear answer. Sometimes they require a little sleuthing—for example, a friend of mine got the word "fear," and she took some time to decipher that it meant she had a deep-rooted fear of getting hurt in her DR (it's a Marvel DR, so I think it's about, you know, the violence n stuff) and she had to change up her script a bit in accordance with that.
For me, I figured out my limiting belief before I saw that Tik Tok. I was just kinda reminiscing one day and kinda wondering what was stopping me or what was so hard about it, and it kinda just popped into my head that I didn't think I could do it. I knew that I believed in shifting as a concept but I didn't believe that I personally could do it. And it was kinda revolutionary for me? That's when I worked on figuring out the root of the problem and adopting a mindset that challenged that belief.
ii. try to understand why you have that specific belief—it can give you your solution
A lot of our limiting beliefs stem from other, more foundational beliefs. For example, mine came from the fact that I tend to overthink everything I do. Whether it's singing or acting, I tend to get in my own way and self sabotage. A common theme in my life is that I surprise myself with my own abilities when I don't think. So understanding why exactly I had this limiting belief led me to understand how I could fix it.
Try to understand why that limiting belief exists. If you got into shifting from its early Tik Tok days, you may believe it's hard because everyone treated it like it was a freaking battle back then. Then, once you understand that, you can take steps towards convincing yourself that it's easy.
iii. understand that it is just a belief, not facts
This is something that took me so long to recognize! Your limiting beliefs are just that—beliefs. They are not facts. Beliefs can be changed and modified if you have the will and determination, facts cannot. So don't look at your limiting beliefs as immovable roadblocks, look at them instead as little cuts that you need to take steps to heal. Don't be intimidated by them because even on your worst days you are infinitely stronger than them. The human mind can overcome so much, you can deal with a limiting belief or two.
iv. challenge it!
Once you've identified the belief and know why it's there, you can take steps to get rid of it. You can go about this however you want, but you really want your goal to be severing whatever emotional bond you may have with these limiting beliefs. Anytime you feel yourself slipping into that thinking that your limiting belief creates, cut it off as soon as you recognize it.
Use affirmations, visualize, hell you can even manifest a new belief thru the lullaby method (I like doing that one). Just do whatever you can to show that limiting belief who's the boss.
There you go! I hope this can help you guys out and help you to remove your limiting beliefs! Remember that absolutely nothing can stop you from shifting and you are the key to your success. Go shift by lovely stars!
Xx, Astra

Do you think any of the Forgers believe in ghosts or have a fear of the supernatural?
Anya is part of a supernatural force, courtesy of her mind-reading powers. And she's a child, so she definitely has some kind of belief or fear of something related. I wonder what kind of nightmares she might have and whether she has the instinct to run to someone for comfort after she's had one, cause she most likely didn't have someone to comfort her after one when she was in the lab or in any of the orphanages. Maybe the scientists drilled into her the thought that nightmares aren't real and there's no monster hiding under her bed or her closet.
She probably believes there are aliens and the kinds of monsters she comes up with.
Tumblr media
She's like, five, and her imagination runs wild. And again, she herself is a result of human experimentation and has a dog that can see the future, so her imagination limits are probably even broader than the average five-year-old's. But I don't think she has a particular fear of ghosts or anything. Again, maybe the scientists took that fear away from her and maybe not in the kindest and most supportive of ways.
Twilight is a very logical person, and I doubt he believes in anything he cannot see or prove for himself. Even his own feelings are a difficult concept for him to grasp. Shameless self promo of my time loop fic, in which upon his realization that something supernatural is happening to him, he doesn't think "OMG magic is real! What else, am I gonna see ghosts or whatever?", instead he goes like "Okay, how do I work around this".
He's also a spy, putting himself in danger and dirtying his hands to create the world he wants. He doesn't seem to believe in a higher power or benign force that could help him in his mission; if he wants a better world, he has to work for it himself. He also probably doesn't fear of any divine judgment, I doubt he'd be able to do as much morally questionable stuff if he feared he'd be judged for them in the afterlife. He may not even believe in afterlife, period. How would he deal with the idea that, if judged for his actions, he wouldn't get to see his mother again in the afterlife?
As for Yor, she might be somewhere in the middle. Like Twilight, she took it upon herself to rid the world of dangers; she isn't expecting from a higher power to help her. No-one protected her and her brother when they were innocent, so she might as well dirty her hands to protect her brother, because what kind of a higher being that didn't help them when they needed it would have the footing to judge her for that?
That said, I wonder how accurate the translation of that line of hers is here. Cause here it sounds like she will be punished (by whom? Some higher power? The Shopkeeper if he finds out?) for thinking about harming an innocent person.
Tumblr media
In the manga translation, it sounds like just by thinking of hurting an innocent person, she could jinx it and actually cause it to happen... or that if she thinks about it too much, she'll somehow end up convincing herself she should go ahead and harm Fiona?
Tumblr media
In any case, she might lean more towards thinking supernatural things could happen, but it's not something that concerns her on a day-to-day basis. I don't think she fears of anything supernatural... if nothing else, because she might be confident enough she'll be able to fight off anything with harmful intentions. Gurl was absolutely ready to fight sharks if needed, I wouldn't doubt she'd be able to kick some ghost and demon ass no problem. I doubt she fears of divine judgment either, but unlike Twilight it wouldn't be because she doubts it exists, but because she concerns herself with the present and protecting what she cares about now. Future her can worry about that. And then kick the ass of the deity or demon punishing her for committing murder on the regular because excuse me sir where were you when me and my brother were two starving war orphans? Yeah, thought so.
(anime only here, don't spoil me for the manga)

Storm Warning
Read on AO3
David Anderson barely glanced up as the shadow of an asari fell across the bar.  Asari crests formed a distinctive silhouette, even distorted by the poor lighting, and there was only one asari likely to come looking for him just now.
Menea didn’t request an invitation. Instead, she sat down and helped herself to his beer.  “To be frank, I expected I’d find you drowning in harder stuff.”
He grunted. The day’s events—hell, the month’s events—hadn’t left him in the mood for talk.
But Menea rarely needed any assistance to hold together a conversation.  “Not that I’m mourning your restraint.  At least you should be coherent.”
Events had left him short of patience, too.  With an edge, he said, “What can I do for you, Spectre D’Sorn?”
“Don’t fret. I’m not here to relive your humiliation. I’m here about a plan.”
Anderson snorted. “What plan?  Even your influence with the Council won’t outweigh failing my spectre evaluation to the tune of losing an entire colony.”
“One town. Don’t be dramatic.”  A hint of amusement crept in.
He looked at her for the first time.  “This isn’t funny.”
“No, it’s not,” she said, switching to English as if to underline her point.  “Saren is a problem.”
“Don’t get me started.”  Actually, a big part of Anderson wanted nothing more than to get started.
She was pure exasperation. “I mean for the galaxy. The Council.”  Then, “No offense.”
That broke through his fog of morose.  “Now I am confused.”
“A few of us are talking about it.”  Meaning spectres.  “Quietly.” As if it could be discussed any other way, Saren being who he was, a spectre’s spectre, and a respected turian to boot.
She fidgeted with the pint.  Probably figuring out what she could say openly, in this venue.  “Even for Saren, this was wild.  I have…concerns.”
“Blinding hatred will make a man do strange things.”
“Maybe.” Doubtful.  “This was more than that.  Your presence meant he got to pin the mess on you.  But he couldn’t certain it would stick, not certain.  And the one thing Saren Arterius would never risk is his own reputation.  There’s some deeper motive.”
“What?”
She drank.  “That’s what’s keeping me up nights.”
“I’m not in a position to assist,” he said, shortly.  “Saren saw to that.”
“He did.” And there was an oddness to her tone, a piece falling into place.  “He eliminated the one sort of candidate not inclined to trust him on strength of title or reputation alone, because humans didn’t grow up enmeshed in galactic culture. Isn’t that perfect.”
It hadn’t struck him until then.  Slowly, he turned it over in his mind.  “Saren is a lot of things.  But I can’t picture him a…”
Traitor hung unspoken on the air.  Menea heard it just fine.  “Is there another human candidate?”
Anderson’s subconscious pushed forward an image, incongruous with the conversation—an eleven-year-old girl, absolutely incorrigible, with more gumption than half the Alliance marines, and currently ensconced in the limited family quarters aboard the Tai Shan.  It left him disconcerted.
Menea fixed on his expression, misreading.  “There is someone.”
He shook it off, and shook his head.  Took back the beer and sipped.  “I can give you names, but it won’t help.  What you need now to get past the Council is a model soldier.  Perfect record.  No mistakes. No misjudgments.  Not even a whisper of insubordination or independent thought.  And if that soldier exists and if we find them, all that means is they won’t be capable of looking outside the box.”
“Which is a baseline requirement for special tactics.” She sighed.
They sat in that defeated silence for several moments.  Then he cocked his head.  “Why do you believe me?  Most of my own command barely buys my story.  You never questioned it?”
She took a long drink, taking her time.  At length, she said, “I’ve examined your record in excruciating detail.  We’ve spoken to your skills, your personal and professional history, your mindset, your ethics, many times—officially and otherwise.  I’d like to think I’ve taken the measure of you.”
Menea rolled the glass between her palms.  “And you have integrity.  Maybe too much for us.  You’d lie to save your life, you’d lie to defend others, but over a matter of politics? No.  No, you’re not that sort of liar.”
“Saren is?” he asked on a hunch.
She drained the pint and set it down with a click, shoving back from the bar.  “Something’s not right.  Stay in touch.”
Then as she made to go, he said, “Thank you.”
Her gaze was very sober.  “Thank me when we win.  A storm’s coming, Anderson.  Attend to it because not enough of us will.”
And then like a shadow, she was gone.

I have multiple clusterb pds (mainly b/n) + autism, along with other unlisted things. I am the host of a median osdd 1a system, we are traumagenic && bpdgenic. (We are traumagenic but use bpdgenic in a way that, my bpd affects our splittings. They are tied. It was not comfirmed by a psychiatrist, it is simply how I experience / see the thing. )

...byf
Sometimes we use we pronouns or the third person!
I am critical of my own interests and believe that things should be consumed critically.
I take everything personally and struggle to read tone!
Anyone can use my flags, just be respectful and credit me. Dont steal them or change their meanings, thats all im asking! My flags have nothing to do with your queer discourse.
I support "contradictory" labels, this includes but is not limited to: mspec lesbian, mspec gay, lesboys, turigirls, etc
I believe bisexuals can reclaim the d slur, the f slur, and use the double venus and double mars symbol. I also think butchfemmes are queer labels and not lesbian exclusive.
I am a battle axe bisexual as in, a fight and advocate against biphobia. I am against separatists aswell and will not tolerate those who took away from bisexuals. Fuck biphobes.
Stances: endo neutral, crit radinclu, anti radqueer, anti contact, pro non-dysphoric, anti consang, anti-harrassment, anarchoqueer (more will / can be added).

is there any limit to what guardians can shape their light into? obviously as humans we turn it into swords and hammers and guns, but could we do other things with it (outside of gameplay ofc)?
if so, how come the hive lightbearers also use the same powers we do? shouldn't they be turning it into weapons they're more familiar with as hive, and not just shields and blades?
Technically, there isn't a limit! It depends on the Guardian and how well-versed they are in the Light, but most of them don't really experiment anymore that much since the classes and subclasses are approachable, easy to learn from others and cover more than enough of our needs. But Guardians constantly experiment with stuff and evolve which is how you have Shaw Han using his Golden Gun essentially like a Well of Radiance to empower allies. I'm sure this can be expanded into also other shapes for Light as well. So theoretically, there could be some Guardians out there with their own personalised ways of using the Light. It would be neat to see it!
The Hive currently use the same powers we do mostly because they basically adopted the conventions from our own culture via our Ghosts and Savathun's exploration of the Light. Mind you, even there, there's some variance with how Hive Knights have double shields and how Hive Acolytes super is sort of like a Blade Barrage, but not entirely identical; they're more swords than knives, they behave differently and it's an ongoing super rather than one-off. But yeah, overall, for this first batch of Hive Lightbearers, they basically inherited the Light as we know it and haven't had much time to develop their own techniques (if they even believe that they'd need to do that at all). Savathun spent a long time studying our Light so when she eventually created her own Lightbearers, she carried that legacy with her.
I'd really like to see this evolve over time. It would be so exciting to see Hive Lightbearers expand their understanding and wielding of the Light and develop more personalised styles. Obviously this would be tough gameplay-wise, but if anything, it would be nice to see in lore.

I have ALWAYS wondered what Hades would think about Christianity, after all Greek mythology and the Gods are pretty different from the purity of Christianity. Greek Gods are much more wild and less hypocrite in my opinion (they don't pretend to lack human sin), that mixed with stuff like the Inquisition or characters like Frollo (who obviously existed and exist in real life...) I mean, I am sure awful people exist in every country and religion, but Christianity has a very dark past. I have always wondered this, but seeing your last Frollo posts, made me wonder even more and I think it would be very interesting lol
Seeing Disney Hades who even though he is a villain, most people can relate to him, he is a comedy relief too... Reactig to how Christianity works and the awful things they have done... Well I think he would be content with plenty of people dying, but he would still find it absurd and very hypocrite seeing how the Church works. I think Hades would be content with people dying, but wouldn't always respect all the ways of doing so (even if he doesn't care, but he would still have an opinion). He would respect Shan Yu because both are driven by power and he worked to gain it all by himself without being an ignorant hypocrite creep who had so low goals, but impose stupid ideals and then being an hypocrite about it, only driven by lust and BY IGNORANCE... (because yeah, real people who are extreme like Frollo and obsessed to that point with religion are pretty ignorant and that's something I think Hades wouldn't respect about someone) Then being a coward too... I don't know if I explain myself well lol but yeah that's my opinion and that's why I also think most villains don't like him either.
For example, I think Hades had respect for Meg because she wasn't the usual passive woman who let other men think for her, even if he got annoyed by her sass and disobedience towards him sometimes. I like to think that even villains like Hades have their limits, that doesn't change the fact that he would do whatever he wants just for power, but he wouldn't fall so low just for lust and ignorance.
I am obviously very late answering this since my Frollo ask were made months ago 🤣
But yeah! I’d love to know the real Hades’ opinion on Christianity (Disney would never let him do that but I’d still love to hear it lmao).
Personal side note: I, myself, am actually a Christian so I know first hand all about the hypocrisy that’s involved when it comes to other Christian people. Obviously, not all Christians are like that (because I mean, I’m not like that lmao) and there are many denominations of Christian like Catholic, Baptist, Methodist (which is what I currently am lol), and so on. I grew up in a southern Baptist community for most of my life. I even went to a private Baptist Christian college prep school and GRADUATED from that school and let me tell you, I have A LOT of stories about my poor experience in that community. It wasn’t the greatest. So, like I said, I know first hand all about the hypocrisy that “devoted followers” display.
But yeah, I honestly don’t know what his detailed opinion would be. For me, I think he knows there’s other gods and religions out there and that he’s not the only type of god people believe in. I think he also doesn’t mind Christians or people who have other religions, but isn’t fond of the huge hypocrites like Frollo. The types that cherry pick what they believe in and use their belief as an excuse for the bad things they say or do. The types that claim to be full on believers in front of others, but will do horribly sinful things behind closed doors and keep it a secret. Those types of religious people would probably really bother him and that’s exactly how Frollo is, so he isn’t a huge fan of the guy.
