HI HELLO JANE!!!!! sorry this took awhile to get around to answering i wrote all the text and told myself i was gonna draw pictures for these and then i got distracted because i wanted to draw. other pictures instead :,D BUT without further ado !!

face: Describe your OC's face. What's their smile like? Are their orbs cerulean? What would someone notice first when looking at them?

i don't trust my writing skills enough to write a description. their face:

i talked a little bit abt their facial features in this ask, but yeah, the Bee Stuff is definitely what people notice first. yarrow's modification was an experimental one, so while most people are kinda used to seeing humods with fur on their faces or weird ears or maybe horns and whatnot, invertebrate features are rare and jarring. this does cause issues when you're trying to be discreet, so yarrow tries their best to wear bandanas or masks. even pre-modification they actually wear something to the effect of a bandana or surgical mask often; partially because They Are A Doctor and also because they live in a mining town that doesn't give a shit about how much dust is kicked up from the open-pit mining

pre-modification i'm not sure what people would notice first; they have a few small defining features like their dimples, yellow-gold eyes, straight teeth, patchy facial hair, and mole on their right cheek, but overall nothing out of the ordinary. i think it's less features people notice, and a general impression of openess? he's quick to smile, talkative, and expressive, so people usually feel like they can approach him

motion: How does your OC move? How does their clothing help or hinder their range of motion? Are they flexible, coordinated, clumsy?

having trained in martial arts for most of her life, serena's very coordinated and flexible! she also has a muscular stature and she can make herself very difficult to move if she doesn't want to. she's aware of her size and generally has a slouch to her posture and walks with a bit of a trudge and lope if that makes sense? she has enough control though to where she can move almost freakishly quiet and it scares people on occasion

ofc she doesn't wear clothes, but she does have her prosthesis!

she's got both an everyday and a sport prosthesis, so while her movement isn't necessarily affected by that, she's less willing to run or do anything intense if she just has her everyday prosthesis on (that's the one i draw, i need to look more into sport prostheses for humans and adapt a design from there)

bc she's a congenital amputee, the only real adjustment she's had to do irt her leg is adapting to a new prosthesis every few years, so she has a solid sense of moving with or without it on. i've been trying to determine if she has smthin like an adapted wheelchair as well, but since dragons are quadrupeds and she's only missing part of a limb, it may not be necessary when she also has her tail and wings to help counterbalance during movement...? there's also the factor that she doesn't have a lot of money, so regardless of what she has to assist her, it's not always top-quality and she's learned to live with a certain level of discomfort and pain

speaking of wings, flying is something dragons can do, but it's a lot like running where most ppl can't do it for longer periods of time unless they train. it's not as necessary in modern society, so most dragons can fly for short bursts if needed/for fun. with the exception of a few who do things like, idk fly to work, most rely on transit bc it's easier. serena's ability to fly is Okay, she's accumulated some damage to her wings over the years (side effect of martial arts where other people have claws and horns), which makes her less aerodynamic and more easily tired out. she's got a good handle on her body and how it moves, so she's actually pretty graceful in the air and not aware of that fact at all. overall, she prefers not to fly, but still maintains a healthy habit of working out those muscles so they don't atrophy, which is a thing that happens with modern dragons.

favorite: Does your OC have a favorite article of clothing or accessory? What is it? What's the meaning behind it? Do they wear it all the time or do they wear it sparingly to keep it safe?

saying wrench is grimm's favorite accessory is actually a stretch bc it loathes wearing it, but adores wrench as a companion but if we are purely talking abt clothing here, grimm's not the sentimental sort, so it doesn't hold on to things once they're to worn nor does it worry about wearing things out. which is the boring answer

wrench is only worn as armor a handful of times in-story and in dire circumstances (that i. have not quite figured out yet <3). grimm fucking hates wearing it, hates the way it takes them back to their past, hates the way it doesn't quite fit their body anymore and hurts if they wear it too long, hates why they even have to wear it, but it's protection and a weapon in one, and they don't have many options.

i talked abt wrench a little bit when you asked abt it here, but wrench is both an artifact of grimm's past and a dear friend. as an animal companion/robot grimm does maintain wrench to an extent and it's a good dog that doesn't age like normal animals, they have a close pet/owner bond. when it comes to "wearing" it, transforming (so to speak) doesn't cause any wear and tear on wrench itself, since that is one of the purposes it was built for, but the situations in which grimm would don wrench may result in damage and there's also an element of wanting to keep wrench safe. aside from being armor, wrench can also do stuff like jam signals for short periods of time and sense heat signatures, so it does have an interest in preserving wrench for its own work and safety as well, but it's also a pet, yknow?

post-story i'm p sure grimm and yarrow would get something equivalent to married. yarrow's the romantic and the one to suggest it ofc, but grimm's like "hell, if i'm going to symbolically tie their life to someone else's it wouldn't be anyone but yarrow" and whatever sort of wedding band/necklace/wearable symbol they choose would become grimm's favorite, esp since it represents a version of themself they like being

Lucky raph and Donnie are my favorites lol! I noticed that honestly raph fans love Donnie XD

Yeah for real! I mean I think we all have our faves and there’s nothing wrong with that. I just love how they all work together. Like Donnie being my fave also means that I am thinking about Raph constantly. Especially the 2003 boys, they’re so closely knit. I think we could even say they have their favorites too—Splinter favors Leo, Raph practically says Mikey is his favorite. The show never says so but Raph is Donnie’s favorite, to me. But we still get to see close bonds with Splinter and Donnie, or Raph and Leo.

I adore how Raph is everyone’s best friend. Oldest sibling coded to me, probably mostly because of my oldest sister, hehe.

But for real, Leo seems more comfortable goofing off with Raph than with anyone else. Raph also pushes him to try things that scare him, which is so precious considering how much Leo’s arc, especially early on, centers around pushing through fear. Also love that Leo seems to recognize when Raph just needs space to be angry, because yeah! What they’re dealing with isn’t normal! Let the teenager rage it’s healthy

Mikey antagonizes Raph more than the other guys, which I think there’s some issues there both ways but the issues come from the closeness. They’re the siblings who constantly want to be together until they literally drive each other up a wall. I imagine when they were little Splinter would try to separate them when things got back and they would just, sneak back to each other’s rooms, both to continue the fight and because they missed each other. They’re so siblings.

And Donnie’s bond with Raph is so most special to me. They’re just so gentle with each other. And when Raph and Leo are arguing, which does tend to be about bigger more serious subjects with real potential to divide, Donnie stays the most neutral. He follows Leo in the City at War arc, but unlike Mikey he doesn’t necessarily agree or disagree. Even little moments like when Raph does something ‘crazy’ (Leo’s bar is low for what he sees as reckless, this poor boy is so stressed), Donnie lets Leo talk to him about it, and then follows Raph lol. Raph also seems to be the one to help Donnie with his feelings, which he is kind of out of touch with. Like in The King, when he gets back and he just lost a friend, it’s Raph we see interacting. There’s no conversation about it (ever, canon will only let Leo process on screen), but at least it’s a small moment of Raph seeing that he’s upset and understanding he needs space. I imagine when Donnie tries to have a full-time job at O’Neil Tech—which at once once gives him space to process everything he’s compartmentalized and forces him to make his brain work in new ways, which causes extreme stress which tends to bring up trauma—he would come up against a lot of personal walls. I’m imagining flashbacks, chronic pain flare-ups, verbal shut-downs. Raph would absolutely be the one to help him the most. He’d probably understand it best even before they figure out causes (he deals with meltdowns during the show, like on screen. Also it’s implied he’s interacted more with humans and we see him making friends every time he goes out, so he’s probably dealt with panic attacks before). Maybe it could even lead to opportunities for Raph to talk with someone about the things he’s struggled with.

Wow Raph and Donnie’s got long—I have so much more in my head, but let me just say one of biggest reasons I relate so much to Donnie is because of how much he worries about each of his family, and April once she joins. And on recent rewatches, I love seeing throughout the show how he grows into his nurturing nature. (Seasons 6 and 7 kind of undid that growth, big part of why I don’t enjoy them as much. I mean he’s sweet with Cody but what the heck happened to his and Raph’s moments, and why is he suddenly so verbally harsh with Mikey? Idk I guess it’s just a different style)

One of my favorite things about the dreamworks: dragons series is the relationship development of Stoick and Hiccup

In httyd 1, it's obvious that they're not the closest. Hiccup even says "for once in your life would you please listen to me" yk

In the series, Stoick learns to pay attention to his son more, and Hiccup also starts to see from Stoick's perspective. Their relationship goes from a wilting bud to a blooming flower

They are so so special to me and I love them in every way shape of form.

THEN HTTYD 2 COMES IN AND OH MY GO

ABSOLUTELY omg. Their relationship in the first movie is so significant and well done, I love them. And I’m SO glad you mentioned the shows, because I think the development in those, though a lot subtler (not sure on the spelling of that world lol) is JUST as important.

In the first movie, they have learned to understand each other s little better, but they still have a long way to go. We see Hiccup growing into a leader alongside Stoick snd, sometimes, through Stoick’s eyes. I love Stoick right after httyd 1, but I would NOT have been as upset about httyd 2 OR Hiccup’s reaction if it hadn’t been for the development in the shows. Stoick learns better to trust Hiccup, and like you said, Hiccup learns to understand Stoick and OMG I LOVE THEm

There’s many, many religious practices that aren’t closed. There’s multiple lists. As long as they aren’t specific to one race/culture/etc and don’t require initiation, you can start practicing them whenever you want.

My rule is typically ‘if they spread their religion to other cultures, they’re probably open.’ Obviously, some religions that require initiation fall into this category and some open religions don’t, but it’s a general idea.

Some forms of paganism that I’m familiar with include Hellenic (Greek), Norse, Slavic, Georgian, Roman, and Sumerian paganism. I also venerate Saints and worship demons.

You don’t need to label your religion and you don’t have to follow established deities. Obviously, it will be easier to worship deities with more information, but you can worship whoever you want (in open religions). I, personally, worship a storm Goddess that I call Lady Storm. I only know one other person who worships her and she isn’t in a pantheon that we are familiar with.

Many religious people may worship elements or aspects of life. I know some people who worship Earth, Death, Rivers, etc.

There are many more spiritual practices. Witchcraft and folk magics are the most known.

Folk magic is a tricky topic. These typically include Catholicism, Christianity, or closed religions. If you want to practice a form of folk magic, look into your lineage or culture. I am not genetically Italian, but my family lived in Italy for many generations and practiced their form of folk magic. For a lot of folk magics, you’ll probably need a mentor.

Witchcraft is open for everyone. There are some forms that, again, are closed or initiatory (Wicca being one of them), but many are open. There are many types of witches. I would recommend searching ‘types of witches’ for a list.

This is from a basically white person’s perspective. For more information about closed practices, I would ask non-white witches. I am not well versed in them and tend to stick to my own lineage and common practices as to not appropriate anything.

Oh, and don’t worship Lilith if you’re not Jewish.

How did soren and shira meet? :0

long post so going to put this under the cut! <3

they meet through meteor, actually! they're together in their relationship for a few years now-- shira ended up joining first. their family lives in the Orre region in Phenac, and they were supportive of her, but they were never really all that close. she had a lot more that she wanted to do with their life rather than being stuck within the city, so they took the first train to Reborn in hopes of challenging the league. he didn't end up doing very well, and ended up getting pretty down on himself for quite a while after as a result. a few people ended up noticing that she was no longer turning up to the gyms every few days like they used to do to try and challenge them. they end up inviting shira into meteor as a way to find something else to do with their life and to help the city and its ancient history, and they end up finding a little family within it as well.

soren ends up joining to try and support their family-- their family lives in Ametrine, and they were initially friends with both Eve and Lumi before the accident and their disappearance-- they went searching for the two of them-- pulling them into meteor's business after they stumbled across some other members discussing the incident. their family is pretty poor, and they join partly to find out what happened to their friends but also just to provide money for their family-- Ametrine's weather is pretty harsh and they often struggled to make ends meet. they end up transitioning shortly after they join meteor, and it's a kind of almost euphoria? for them to realize their identity.

they meet shira in the intelligence department shortly after being assigned to systems management/surveillance, and they don't actually hit it off right away. shira's pretty brash, and ends up mouthing off to ZEL and ace as supervisors early on, and snapping back at some technicians under their wing such as soren. soren's naturally a pretty shy disposition, so this kinda makes them shrink back a little from him. it wasn't until they're assigned to work together that they get the chance to interact outside of a meteor setting-- they're assigned to a mission together where soren ended up saving shira from a sticky situation and while they've gotten the chance to be friendly with each other this really kicks off the gradual start to grow closer.

they've definitely been more of a slowburn relationship as their personalities are relatively different, but they balance each other out really well. shira encourages soren to be more confident in themself and their decisions and skills, and to be more outgoing and authoritative, while soren helps shira stay calmer, especially during crises, and make more rational decisions rather than charging into situations. they help shira slow down a bit and appreciate what's around them, while she helps them come out of their shell a bit and grow more confident that yes, they are valid and the things that they have to say and contribute are valued.

So. After the ddos attack on ao3.

I was encouraged to write more comments and make my love known to fanfic writers.

I dont really like commenting. Because im a bit shy and soooo lazy.

Now though. I am writing more comments. And dude. This is so heartwarming. Ya'll need to treat writers better. They are doing the lord's work.

Take for an example, couple of days prior, i was searching for something interesting to read, and found an oneshot quite compelling.

I read it. At the end of it, i was blown away by how good it was. It promised me something and it went beyond my expectations. But then i saw a crime, zero fucking comments!

At that moment, i wasn't feeling up to writing a comment. Because, normally i like to write huge paragraphs. But because im lazy i decided to be brief.

Next day, the author answered that the comment lift their mood for the whole day.

That warmed my heart.

Duuuuuuuude! Write comments! Suport the writers of the fics you like! No need to be something super elaborate. Just give your thoughts. Freak out. Ramble. Ask something. Make theories. Compliment. Make a joke about how you wished to give kudos every chapter but ao3 sucks(not true bby) and won't let you.

Truly. Just. Comment. It can make someone's day. And that is part of the apeal of writing fics. Interacting with people.

Just give love to fanfic writers yall. They deserve this and so much more.
