Now that chapter six has ended, what are your opinions on it as a whole

***Chapter 6 main story spoilers below the cut!***

I THINK CHAPTER 6 IS NOW MY FAVORITE ONE 😭 (it used to be chapter 4) I’M GOING TO TRY AND KEEP MY THOUGHTS CALM AND CONDENSED THOUGH ASDKHBASIDBYOBFAIDQOVID;OBUQELVFILbhldbFIGVUAILFBB;2477831T6G30E8′.;;gkkn;jadbufyvalsfYIUADKIYV UOlbiiYB

Like?????????? IT JUST DOES A LOT REALLY WELL, despite having a glut of characters to work with????????? OB isn’t treated like just a harmless “villain of the week” episodic one-and-done-now-onto-the-next thing, the consequences have been building for a long time and chapter 6 is the major payoff for it.

I like that chapter 6 took a totally different direction than many of us were expecting, giving us a ton of lore about blot and efforts directed to contain and research it. We also saw a lot of the world and distant lands, how countries are arranged relative to each other, etc. When you put it hand-in-hand with the “visiting characters’ home countries” events, it all makes Twisted Wonderland really feel like a world that’s well-lived in.

More importantly though, the character development in this chapter was TOP TIER 😳 We got so many returning characters and we actually get to see the consequences of their OBing catching ho to them. We get to see how they’ve grown and changed since we last saw them in major roles in the main story. We see that they’re still imperfect after all this time, and that’s totally okay because change is hard and slow. I loved seeing the boys forced to work together to overcome a common enemy, and it was such a joy to see them happily reunited with their dorm members at the very end 😭

The Shroud brothers storyline also hit so hard 😭 Their bond is so pure, and Idia’s struggles with coming to terms with the past and his guilt is extremely realistic and genuine. I’m not the kind of person that often cries when absorbing media, but chapter 6 made me sob ugly silent tears when Idia’s backstory played; it’s the ONLY instance in TWST that has actually moved me to that extent (and that’s really saying a lot, especially considering that I dislike Idia). Like damn, I think I might actually have to bump him up several rungs in my personal tier list for this??????

The foreshadowing throughout chapter 6 for 7 was also impeccably done 👀 All of Lilia’s talk about the ephemeral nature of human life makes me so hype for how they will possibly explore this topic in the future, and what kind of lesson Malleus and co. may learn from it.

The only things I would say I didn’t like were 1) the gameplay (specifically the time gating and character locking in parts 66 and 67) and 2) Crowley and Grim taking a backseat in the plot; I feel like more time should have been dedicated to showing where they were and what they were doing as the events unfolded, but I realize it may have made the chapter cluttered and could have distracted from the delicious Shroud brothers angst 😔 or maybe they purposefully kept it vague to build more mystery? So in the end, I guess I can forgive it... I just hope that whatever Grim and Crowley were up to in the background of chapter 6 come back and more relevant than ever in chapter 7 💕

SO charmed by the little throwaway about ✨dragon lord consort esteemed diplomat revaan✨#who picks the vegetables out of his food and hides them under the tablecloth #everything i learn about this man makes me like him more. he was SO dumb.#now we know where malleus gets it from i guess #also unrelated but once again the fact that i named my mc tamago has had unintentional consequences #tamago take the tamago and tamago tamagao tamago #frikkin love that when yuu gives the egg back you can just be like 'i love him. this is my baby now.' 100% accurate.#also yuu continually referring to malleus as tsunotarou even to the senate = amazing. yuu really has NO self-preservation or awareness.#they fit right in with everyone else #<- see what did i tell you. huge rambling mess.#and i haven't even BEGUN to talk about MELEANOR -- (is dragged offstage by a hook)

I've had a beast of a cold for the last few days, but I wanted to get this out before the new year! while I've sort of made my peace with my first take on Lilia's UM poster, I really wanted to do a version with the new context that chapter 6 gave us. because. c'mon.

happy new year Ego!!! Just wanted to let you know that I absolutely adore your twst fanart and the tags are just an absolute pleasure to read! You are my greatest inspiration for my personal twst art and I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful masterpieces <333 if possible, may I ask what are some of your headcanons for the diasomnia family? If not for diasomnia then any other characters are fine as well!

thank you, and happy new year! 💚💜💚 that is amazing to hear; it's always a little bewildering but super flattering that other people like my silly little doodles so much!

I don't think I really have any really solid headcanons and also canon keeps validating me left and right (FLUFFY DOMESTIC DIAFAM IS REAL). mostly just kind of...impressions and general thoughts, if that makes sense! lately though I've been kind of obsessed with thinking about Lilia's hair, and specifically when/why he ended up cutting it. (l-look, we're bouncing around the timeline and I gotta make decisions about these things when I draw, it's relevant) (I mean I would probably be weirdly fixated on this anyway, but.)

I think I've settled on the idea that he kept it long until he went to NRC, partly because 1) I like drawing The Ponytail, and 2) I think he thought of NRC as a chance to reinvent himself a bit! he gets to go and be a wacky carefree teenager for a few years and have fun! (officially he's there to keep an eye on Son #1, but how much trouble could he get into, really.) so he gave himself a Cool Teen Haircut to go with his fresh new Cool Teen Persona!

also maybe he had some reflection on his hair's troubled past with three kids...

...and had to weigh his vanity versus the fact that he was going off to be around hundreds of kids on a daily basis, and. the choice suddenly seemed obvious.

hi, just wanted to say I've just started to get into Twisted Wonderland and binge read your comics and content for it, it was really fun to read! i love how you draw the different characters' expressions! im still super new to it (haven't played the game yet but i got kinda hooked on reading the main story after looking it up by chance) but id love to play it eventually! do you have any suggestions on what to look up/read next as far as character backstories/interactions go? ive really enjoyed the parts from the birthday events (? i think?) that you have done comics from, they sound really fun! thanks for your time!

oh boy, GET READY because the personal stories/vignettes are where the real meat lies. like, the main story is the main draw, of course, and for good reason -- I am champing as the start of episode 7 grows nearer -- but Twst's strength is definitely in its enjoyable characters and their slice-of-life interactions in Zany Magic School. and fortunately, there's a lot of them!

(sorry this got so long, I have many feelings about anime characters)

most of the stories and events don't have a specific chronology aside from taking place sometime after episode 2 of the main story, so once you've gotten that far you're good to jump in almost anywhere! (the more recent events, starting with Fairy Gala IF, are explicitly set after episode 6 -- though if you're going off of the English version then I don't think any of them have been released yet.) event cards also assume that you've gone through the event story first and usually have spoilers or references for it. otherwise there's no real order, so you can just pick a character you like or event you think looks interesting and go from there!

one of the things I really like about Twst is that interactions aren't limited to defined groups -- everyone has inter-dorm friendships and clubs and sub-friend groups and opinions on everyone else that range from "well, I don't know if we're exactly friends, but we study together sometimes" to "I would literally die and/or murder for him" (and sometimes "I would literally die and/or murder for him but he won't let me >:("). characters pop up in each other's stories all the time, and pretty much everyone gets some extra depth or development to them that doesn't come out in the main story, so I do think it's worth it to read through at least a few for every character.

like, if you just go through the main story, you only really get to see Nice Mom Friend Trey, and not that he's actually kind of a petty asshole who is weirdly obsessed with dentistry and goes around sticking his hands in people's mouths. everybody has things like that! Jade is super into mushrooms! Leona is a feminist! Malleus has an intense emotional attachment to his tamagotchi! Cater participates in shallow consumerism because nothing in life has any meaning and actually his friends are pretty worried about him!

tl;dr read everything because this game knows what it's about and that's ✨Characters✨
