madatowa drama cd notes as someone who has very limited jp knowledge. i am simply using my 4 yrs of high school japanese, google translate, and a dream. just posting this for fun so it’s not like an official translation or anything it’s just basically me describing what’s happening to the best of my ability and also being insane about them

major events that happened that i could make out as like a tldr

-mada reunited with someone he knew when he was little

-towa learns abt mada’s past, mainly around a guy named “kurahashi”

-mayu eiji and kotarou appearance :D being sillies as always

-two yowie moments. first one in an alleyway second one presumably in their home. both are freak nasty as usual madatowa shenanigans

-towa and mada have a coffee and say it tastes like shinkoumi. some dudes come up to em and try to fight

-somebody notices them and gives them a job. presumably to fight people

-towa fights some people and it riles him up

-this part has already been translated but i just wanna scream abt it here bc!!!!!! towa brings him and mada into like an alleyway or something and he goes “hit me. it has to be you.” and mada says something like “you really are a lost cause/what am i going to do with you, huh?” hits him n his mouth fills with blood and towa kisses mada to make him taste it dnnsjdjd ❤️

-they have a quickie in the third track in said alleyway like the freaks they are

-a character (acquaintance of mada) called him “kei” which was kinda crazy to me since nobody called him that in the vn

-theyre in south america i believe? it’s funny in drama cds when they go to a country outside of japan and still speak japanese

-this character knew mada when he was little??? omg

-somebody came up to towa and madarame and said “forget everything you saw/heard today”?!

-there’s a VA in here that lowkey sounds like koujaku dmmd but idk how to check

the difference in tones was cute

-from what i got: madarame and kaga had a promise. lots of talk abt this promise. lots of talk abt madarame’s history with his siblings and takasatogumi. this entire bit is probably really interesting lore wise but i can’t understand most of it…💔 apologies

- enter madarame from the distance to save towa from this dude’s grasp

-he walks away.

-they go back home (i think) and enter.

ok so. i’m not gonna give a full review since i didn’t understand all of what they were saying but i saw on twt some people are going to start translating it? so perhaps i’ll relisten once a translation is out and give my full thoughts but as of now i loved it regardless. i missed towa and madarame a lot i love their dynamic 💔 just a bunch of freaks fighting mfs occasionally and going anywhere but still sticking beside one other. im rly glad i actually bought it because i get to listen to it whenever AND it’ll probably feel like the first time once i finally listen to it along with an eng translation so i actually know wtf is GOING ON

Just a question, based on the last post you made, how many baby daddies does thranduil has and who are they?

My Thranduil (whose trans) sleeps around a lot (partially bc he was born at lake cuivinen and before marriage and chastity were really A Thing, and partially bc the silvans genuinely don’t care about one’s sex life as long as it’s consensual) and well, sometimes things happen and he gets pregnant.

He has 4 kids (significantly less than what he could have, but they all have different “spermdonors” as they’re usually referred to as) biologically and 1 adopted.

The eldest is Lasgen, a girl (and head of Mirkwood’s black ops/assassination unit). She was also born at lake cuivinen and Thranduil had her when he was 38 (teen parent) mostly bc at the time the elves were still trying to figure out things like “age of majority” and since thranduil and his sisters were the first elves ever born, no one really knew anything about children, childhood, when they’d be an adult, etc. Basically it’s a mess. She’s also the only one who they know who the sperm donor is (i’m sorry for bombarding you will all this lore of my au).

Her dad is Ingwe’s dad. And ingwe’s dad (Ingen) is a JACKASS who has a habit of ding-dong-ditching. (Knocking elves up and then, when they refuse to sibmit to him when they find out they’re pregnant, he abandons them to find another victim) let me put it like this: Ingen was the OG conservative. And naturally, he’s a shit father.

Which leads us to the next (and only adopted) child: Ingwe, who is 2 months younger than Lasgen. Long story short: Thranduil and his sister (Miriel in this au) basically babysat elflings (mainly the -we’s) and Ingwe’s mother (who’s friends with elwe and olwe’s mom) drops inwe off there, not knowing at first that her husband also knocked up thranduil. Basically: drama. Ingwe’s ma is also a bitch, she follows her husbands lead on everything. So when Ingwe was about 28 he disowned his bio parents and was formally adopted by Thranduil.

Skip all the way to the end first age/beginning second age and Thranduil gets pregnant again. No one knows who the other parent is. And, tbh, no one cares.

This child is Lirion. He’s the most stoic of all his siblings, but don’t let the deadpanned face fool you: he’s just as crazy as the rest of em. He’s a scientist who regularly breaks every law of physics he can get his hands on. Very curious with questionable morals

A thousand years later and Kleoyia is born. Again: no idea who the other parent is. The only clue they have is that her pupil is shaped like a diamond, indicating that she’s of ckeoticn’ar descent. This does not make knowing who the daddy is any easier. She’s the head of information gathering. Either through espionage, T&I, or other means. She travels all around middle earth constantly. She also, like her dad, sleeps around a lot. (Lasgen is gay, gay, homosexual, gay and has been married since the age of the trees, Lirion is Ace).

Last, but not least, our favorite: Legolas. He was born 2002 SA. Not a clue who the second parent is. He’s in a polyamorous relationship with his wife, Sukanra, and his husband, Iznake. He’s a fixer. Basically, when there’s smth going on that’s big enough to be important, but too small to have primary focus, he’s sent out to deal with it. Whether it’s diplomatic relations, scouting, battle, it doesn’t matter. He’s the jack of all trades. He also switches regularly between a male and female body.

The reason is bc he had 1 daughter SA 3007, and later on they wanted another kid but Sukanra did not want to give birth again so legolas went “if we can find away for me to be pregnant and give birth safely, i’m willing to do it” (w husband). In short, by the end of the 3rd age, Legolas is the only one of Thranduil’s kids to have kids (though the others do get kids later on down the line)

But yeah, 5 kids in total, 2 who know who the sperm donor is (and it’s a jackass) and 3 who are clueless but also don’t really care.

And all the baby-daddies are still lowkey interested in Thranduil (even jackass, though he’s still an asshat) and finding out that he had their kid and other elves’ kids ruffles their feathers a bit.

But Thranduil’s fine. He’s not that interested in having a partner, so the only reason he’s freaking out a bit is bc it’s a bit awkward to say “hey remember the time we hooked up millenia ago? Well -*plops a full grown elven warrior with a reputation in front of babydaddy* tada!”

Sorry for rambling! This was simply the perfect opportunity to info dump.

Emerson Corley : MHA/BNHA

An american student who has a legacy of family exchange students to U.A. They were the catalyst of a project called H.E.R.O. aka Hero Elimination and Restoration Objective. Because their quirk ‘Tarot Matter’ is—in short—a quirk that acts as multiple. And the Phantom Order wanted to try to create artificial quirks and possibly the ability for someone to have multiple quirks. Deku for example, he has multiple quirks even with a quirk being the cause of it. Back to H.E.R.O. they’d lose Em as a subject but not without a bit of their blood. Their dad died during their rescue and their mom decided it be best to start them and their sisters training immediately. And once each was old enough sending them to Ravenwood (a made up american hero school) or eventually to U.A. Emerson would get into the hero course (having an option to get into the support course due to their mothers status in the industry.) (They’re kinda a nepo baby-) Em ends up dating Shoji later on :>

Aceline is the only demi-god child of Nyx known to exist. And was born through pathogenic means with a bit of her fathers DNA. Grew up traveling between the northern and southern east coast. Before her satyr protector Auden inevitable brought them to Camp Half-Blood. They’re the second longest camper just a few months after Annabeth. Nyx visits sometimes and only at night it in dreams but has not claimed Aceline due to well the gods (even though Zeus fears Nyx, a mothers gonna worry.) They get claimed post-book 5 of pjo and had been inserted into the prophecy of seven (now eight) because why not <3. Also now Leos not a seventh wheel anymore :D. I’m not a hugeeeee caleo shipper so- Leo and Aceline 💪. Aceline and Gaea do NOT get along, mainly because of Aceline being in the prophecy that will stop her from changing the world. Ummm, oh! Aceline has some super cool powers :> Oh and they’re a legacy of apollo- um yeah don’t mind that they’re kinda crazy with all this stuff- most of my ocs are normal I promise- but uh Aceline can make little stars that can EXPLODE! There’s a couple other characters I made to go along with Aceline like Auden and another Demi-god who’s their best friend Delphina! And the hellhounds who are canonically they’re siblings- I still can’t wrap my head around that but 🤷. (They also have a pegasus called equinox and a hellhound who i’ve based off my own irl dog-)

Armani Monroe : Ninjago

Ok! Armani is the grand child of Mystake, an Oni (Warlord) and long time friend of Master Wu and Lord Garmadon(?) Was unaware of her heritage for most of her childhood before her mom and grandmother had a big fight. Where she and her brother learned of their heritage they splint, Armani wanting to learn and invest in that part while her brother chose to be with their human heritage. So she’d begin to learn and train under Sensei Garmadon as he has the she essence as her. The Oni’s Distruction. Then she lost her mentor and left to train on her own and focus almost everything into the study of Oni. Misako kept in contact atleast. But she sorta resented the Ninja so when she was called in during SoN she wasn’t the friendliest but would help the best she could. Joined them on all their adventures during SoN to MotO, being with all the ninja in SoN, being in the first realm during hunter and helping the ninja during MotO. End us joining the ninja permanently S11 onward. Ends up dating Lloyd because Llorumi 👎.

I’ll talk about her MM iteration here! Was previously a bat before being mutated by Baxter Stockman, being the last to be mutated. And was only a tube baby during Utrom’s raid. She got lost a bit after the escape and was later presumed dead by Superfly, only to be found by a couple who thankfully did not freak out about some chubby human like baby bat crawling around an alleyway. She really doesn’t know how they didn’t buttt she’s been living with them in secret ever since, being home schooled and is only let out at night. She has a few internet friends from around New York. She first saw the mm!turtles when the news was covering their fight with Superfly. She was both in awe and in shock because more mutants like her. Freaking out, fangirl-ish type reaction. After the fight she spent the rest of the day convincing her parents to let her enroll in school, they said yes since people weren't gonna freak out (they made her go out a few times first to gauge reactions, she also got to meet her friends for the first time in person.) The first day of school she almost got lost, and got mistaken as wingnut twice before finding the turtles and having a whole spider-man pointing meme reaction. I imagine them being all excited about meeting another mutant who's a student. X)

Oh! Hello! I was tagged by @pinkytoothlesso11 ! Thanks for thinking of me pinky! I’m kinda new to the whole fanfic scene so i really appreciate it! This was already a long list of questions to begin with but i fear i may have made it worse…

Unfortunately just 2, though I do plan to add a few more in the future as ideas flow. Might take me a minute ‘cause my schedule is just a little bit kinda sorta really swamped down with my main child which requires let me you, A LOT OF CARE DONT SIGN UP TO ADOPT KIDS PEOPLE IT’S NOT—

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

Phew. ummmm it changes very rapidly (because i’m a girl w suspected adhd and can NEVER be told to shut up) with every chapter but as of this moment is 228,665! wow! i don’t really know how great of a number that is but i’m sure it’s a lot! I told you I can never shut up! (-whispers- Hey kid, u want some dRuGs? i mean- an update? That itty bitty word count is about to take another not regularly scheduled mini-skyrocket so get ready for it ehehe ;})

3. What fandoms do you write for?

For now, just Trollhunters/Tales of Arcadia, mainly Trollhunters despite the fact that the first of the Tales of Arcadia shows that i watched and really enjoyed was actually 3-Below, but oh well my man is in Trollhunters sooooo oopsie but i DO have some random snippets of fics for Miraculous (rewrite), the Star Wars sequels (rewrite), Batman, some for the Dream SMP, and weirdly enough also Raya and the Last Dragon (rewrite). All of which i prolly wont ever post because i wrote them a while ago and yeaaaahhh not my best writing but if i get enough people other than my best friend wanting me to post them, i might…

Yes. At first, I sorta struggled with it (who the heck am i kidding i STILL do) but since my fic USED to be two times a week updates i would feel like i couldn’t respond to a comment left after i posted a new chapter so i might’ve left some comments in the earlier days unanswered, super sorry. Nowadays i make it a point to reply back to everyone in the order that they commented in because (anxiety makes me think if i don’t respond they won’t comment anymore and know that i love reading their comments and that they’re so amazing for actually taking the time to write something back AND I DO LOVE IT I PROMISE IT JUST TAKES ME A WHILE TO RESPOND—) …because it’s pretty chill to geek out w em and see they liked stuff that i loved to write! I do have a backlog of comments to get to i just end up overthinking everything to match the person’s energy to be sure they know i love em.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Unfortunately, i haven’t actually finished a fully-fledged fic to say it has the angstiest ending bUt definitely a contender would be chapter 1 of my 2023 Stricklake prompt collection because i just leave it on the sad note and don’t do anything about it because angst and because spoilers for my actual story fic that will eventually make it to that point.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Happiest ending, huh? I like to say that most of the things i will/have chosen to write end happy/hopeful because i hate when books/tv shows end bittersweetly it’s like i have enough with life itself being bittersweet most of the time let me be happy LET THEM BE HAPPY. But that doesn’t exclude me from providing the proper banquet of angst that ends in caretaking, my absolute favorite trope.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Oh heck no. I would be devastated honestly, but thankfully everyone who comments is always the sweetest and kindest people ever and really encourage me to keep going, for that i am only thankful.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

No. Just no. I love romance but i am a minor, so i’ve never consumed smut nor intend to ever write it. Give me a soft romance and loving gestures, I can allude to greater happenings but not details.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I don’t, sorry. I don’t know something in me just doesn’t sit well with crossovers, for the life of me I don’t know why. Like genuinely i wish i could get into them but maybe it’s like food on a plate? i don’t like the foods touching each other so maybe the same rules apply??? yeah i’m drasticallydumb

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that i know of, no.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I don’t believe so, and if someone did they’re in for a heck of a lot of work there…

Nope! I’d like to sometime but i have no idea how one even goes about making a co-written fic, on top of which i am a very sporadic person in terms of motivation and random ideas produced by a song i’m listening to while writing.

Stricklake obviously is a really big contender if not the winner, the ship that brought me to AO3, writing fanfics, and tumblr. But, if i had to pick other options i’d say Eugene and Repunzel from Tangled would be one of my ogs, another might be uhhh Chris and Aviva from Wild Kratts the og of the ogs.

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Chapter 3 of my stricklake 2023 prompt collection, it just has a lot of moving parts and me and my best friend are chronic procrastinators and with the month pretty far gone it might just end up sittin’ there for the foreseeable future 😞 but who knows

16. What are your writing strengths?

Phew, that’s a dozy mainly because i’m not super sure. I’d like to think one of my main strengths is descriptions and really putting you in the mind of the character, i don’t really like spelling things out and i like a little investigating to get you where u end up, u know? I like to think my writing FEELS a little more like a show on a page rather than a true book, most to blame would be my maladaptive daydreaming taking up a lot of time in my planning for my writing.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Ah. How the turn tables. I would say that my weaknesses in writing mostly consist of me going a little *too* far into detail on meaningless things or making it too convoluted for people to understand, sometimes spelling it out is better in certain scenarios and i just really need to get myself past that. Another one i would say is that i go REALLY into detail not only in a sentence/chapter sense but also a complete STORYLINE sense, i hate time skips and i shoot myself in the foot wanting to completely document every moment of everyday w a character and hence it seems like a lot of time in universe hasn’t gone by. Trying to improve and grow tho 💪

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Can’t wait to do more of it! Especially with Claire and her family (including NotEnrique) speaking spanglish w each other automatically mainly because i am hispanic and completely fluent in Spanish and live in a similar household so i just love to add a little ✨personalization✨ to my dialogue and interactions in that way. Other languages………….yeaaaahhh i’m not super good will prolly use google translate and hope.

Trollhunters, my gateway into AO3. HOWEVER. if you promise not to tell, the very first fandom i read/wanted to write a fanfic for was actually, as far as i can tell, Wordgirl. don’t ask why. don’t ask me how. it just kinda happened. But, officially, it’s Trollhunters. (maybe with a side of Warrior Cats).

I want to read the dc comics, but I have no idea where to start. Which one do I read first?

I gave recs for what I started over here and they’re mainly what I started with so you can understand what I draw, but here are some more :) when I first started reading comics I went for shorter ones but as you read you get exposed to characters and you’re like “I wanna read more of them” and then it all spirals from there. I think it helped me get used to reading comic bullshit lol. I only started reading this year so there’s a lot I haven’t read out there.

1. Supersons 2016 (very cute and more lighthearted, three series, finished so it’s about 30 ish issues in total i think, Damian Wayne/Robin and Jonathan Kent/Superboy are the sons of Batman and Superman and they get into shenanigans and have a cute friendship. I really like these ones😊)

2. Young Justice 1998 (older so dunno if you wanna start with it, but it’s fun and wacky and I love it, 55 issues plus some crossover/tie in issues so probably like 60 ish issues, features Tim drake/robin, superboy/Conner kent, impulse/Bart Allen, wonder girl/Cassandra sandsmark, greta Hayes/secret, arrowette/cissie king jones, plus more like empress/anita fite, slobo, and red tornado.)

3. Graduation day (mini comic that is 2 or 3 issues about breaking up yj and the titans smh smh) then the core four (Tim, Bart, kon, cassie) join the teen titans

Teen titans 2003 (grittier and edgier than yj but has it’s nice character moments here n there, about 100 issues, but I’m not gonna lie if Conner isn’t in the issue I kinda zoned out or skimmed it ummm >_>)

4. Batman urban legends. ( ongoing, anthology of several stories and characters, good if you wanna meet a lot of Gotham based characters. This was like my first legit exposure to dc comics specifically so I’m putting it here)

5. World’s Finest 2022 (ongoing, Um I think there’s 5 or 6 issues out rn. It’s revisiting Batman, Robin (Dick grayson), and Superman’s first years together and it’s reallyyyyy cooooooool. I love the vibes and art. Feels very authentically comic book-y. Dan mora is my favorite dc artist Honestly . Lots of others show up too like Supergirl and Doom Patrol 😊Actually this is Probably my fave out of the new comics)

6. Batgirls 2022 (ongoing but there’s like 9 issues out I think??, features Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, and Barbara Gordon, who have all held the mantle of batgirl. Also the art slaps.)

7. Batgirl 2000 (70 issues, about Cassandra cain’s run as batgirl, I haven’t finished it but Its like a really lauded run and is well written so go read it)

8. Batgirl 2009 (26 issues I think, this is about Stephanie brown’s run as batgirl, she is my beloved I love her so much and her jokes are so😖💜)

9. Red Robin 2009 (26 issues I think?, runs parallel to Batgirl 2009 and Batman and Robin 2009, I put this one last bc I feel like it needs a Lot of context unlike the others where you can just jump into it but it is short and It was also one of my first comics so 🧍🏻‍♀️. Basically Tim drake had a solo run (Robin 1993) but it’s over 100 issues and I haven’t even read all of em bc there’s. So much. So if u wanna read more tim drake stuff I’d suggest looking up a reading list bc he debuts in the Detective Comics issues and then gets his own solo. Anywaysss so basically a lot of shit happened lots of friends n family died or “died” leaving Tim in a pretty bad place. Bruce is assumed dead, so Dick becomes Batman and makes Damian his Robin, and Tim takes up the Red Robin mantle. okay actually you can easily pick up the context when u read so nvm😗✌️)

I was gonna put more but I’m on mobile and hit the photo limit ☹️ Kon and Bart have their solos, I started reading The New Teen Titans from the 80s, Damian has a recent robin run, and I’m planning on reading more supergirl/superfam comics and green lantern corps comics so yeaaaaah there’s a loooooot. I think toppins only apply to Piepoe’s three companions because there’s no way I want to eat a rat or commit cannibalism (little fake peppino). (I don’t want to eat them, I’m saying that toppins are called that because they’re toppings. Which again doesn’t fit the two out of five of them) Maybe a synonym to child since of their baby like appearance and piepoe being like their guardian. Like rugrats, chicks or babies.

Oh absolutely! I mainly refer to them all as "toppins" because they would "act" as the toppins for Peppino in-game for Piepoe(they also in a more technical sense were created to act as toppins). Collect em, and they follow you around/give you score and a bit of cash, you get the concept-! But you're very correct in a specific sense one would Not want to eat the little fake peppiclone and the little rat. /saying this all softly and genuinely!

If anything, I could also just call them the little crafted creachers bc I enjoy using the term!! (And at this point all 5 of the little friends feel more like small companions of Piepoe than toppins) :3

I listen to music a lot while writing, although you’ve asked here specifically about Nichoji.

🤔GENERAL

Lana Del Rey helps me set tone and mood for my own writing practice – in particular two of her albums are (for me) no-skip albums: her Lust For Life and Born To Die are indispensable for me when I’m getting ready to write, even if then I move on to other music over the course of a writing session (which I usually do, sometimes pretty promptly). I listen to similarly lyrical stuff while writing dialogue (even, although rarely, audiobooks). I listen to a LOT of EDM, particularly trance and retro/synthwave, while writing intimacy. I generally listen to just pop-y sort of stuff while editing (💝Kylie Minogue💝, Gregory Dillon, Mallrat, KAROL G). Anything that’s darker – trauma, breakdown, fights, spirals – I will listen to music that I perceive as thematically dark – particularly iwilldiehere, Isabel LaRosa (but never the ‘sped up’ versions of anything, get that stuff outta here), and Tove Lo.

Of course, then there are days when I can’t stand music – like seriously, ‘do NOT play any music at me’ days – when I need silence or something else. Those aren’t common, but they happen usually when I’m trying to tidy something up, and music does nothing except bring in additional complexities or subtleties when what I’m actually trying to achieve is simplification, reduction, or downsizing. In those instances I do need something to block out environmental noise, I’ll typically use rain/storm sound effect tracks just to provide my brain with something that it can think about in the background.

🤔SPECIFIC

Anyway, Seiji x Nicholas:

It’s heavily dependent on which Nichoji we’re talking about, honestly. I’ve written different teenage Nichoji dynamics, and teenagers are a different proposition to my adult Nichoji dynamics, which I’ve written across different eras and with different vibes. I made a handful of playlists of tracks which were helpful for me while writing individual pieces and which I thought might help people enter the same sort of headspace while reading or thinking about those pieces.

But let’s assume we’re talking late-teen vanilla Seiji x Nicholas.

Obvi i got my main bro caleb from far cry 5, the link here explains him a hell of a lot more and he’s probably my most developed character cause i’ve worked on him since 2018 or whenever the game came out. but he’s basically my dep (and where i got my username from) so he’s your typical average white guy but he’s the gentle giant, tough but emotional kind of guy. I also have another oc who is his sister and she ends up as the captain in new dawn, i named her eleanor or ellie and they're the badass nelson siblings i guess.

Now i feel hella excited about my FC6 oc’s cause they’re new n fresh and i love em to bits >:))) but i’m still workin’ on all of them so they aren’t complete of course

The first one is Manuel ‘Manny’ Suárez Landaverde and he’s an FND soldier who starts off as a medic because he loves helping people (and lowkey a victim of all of castillo’s propaganda) but he ends up getting promoted through the ranks to special forces as a sniper for his skills. I haven’t really decided if he will defect and it would be cool to make him a double agent or he turns completely to libertad or another faction of the resistance but I've mostly just been working on his personality.

He’s totally soft and shy as hell, definitely doesn’t socialise well with the other soldiers at parties (but i kinda wanna give him a grouchy fnd boyfriend too idk) and he’s got a very cosy apartment in esperanza before he moves into the special forces block in barrial. Think like lots of windows, house plants, some cool art from zenia and he definitely has a cat.

Manny is like the precious cinnamon roll meme but could kill you, he’s just over protective of those he loves but mostly he just wants to use his skills to save lives and mainly is stationed at outposts or accompanies special forces rather than actually being a full blown soldier.  But I don't have his backstory worked out yet or how to write him into the canon timeline.

The second is my weirdly specific but probably all time favourite Yulia Dmitrievna Mikhaylov. That’s her Russian name but once she immigrated to Yara, the Russian ‘Yulia’ became the latin ‘Julia’. She’s very much a historical character (because she’s born in 1882) because I wanted her to be like an old loving grandma by the time the first revolution came around in ‘67. I’m keeping it short and sweet here since I have like a whole ass essay on her in my drafts but she basically moves to Esperanza with her husband (think the whole soviet cuban missile crisis) because her husband is a military officer and she’s this badass spy.

Julia is like the stone cold old Russian lady who gets pissed at the FND if they bother her in town but she absolutely adores her family members to bits (and I'm currently working on her mother, father and husband who will mostly be based in Russia). 

She’s the product of two ideas basically; the first i wanted to have juan’s backstory (since ubisoft the bastards didn’t give us one) and i also wanted to have like a russian spy oc so i combined the two.

The reason why she’s gotta be old is not only to fit the historical time period of soviet influence in cuba and hence fictional yara but she ends up being a small 8 year old juan’s found family since that’s my favourite trope. I did a rough timeline of events and the closest age I can pinpoint Juan is around 73ish, like 1949 DOB.

This is important bc Julia’s husband passes away so she gets lonely and when she meets juan who’s still in an orphanage in esperanza by this point she takes him under his wing and reads him her husband’s old russian spy novels, comics, teaches him to read in russian and so on bc this is how i figured he’d get all his influence to later work for the KGB and go on to be the infamous spymaster and such.

Basically she teaches a smol juan to be an evil little shit (affectionate) and so i nicknamed her “grandma cortez” and if you read the hidden histories ‘The Cabinet of Dr.Medico - Issue #3’ which is one of Juan's comics. It's super heartfelt so she calls him “little Juanito” like the letter and it’s just core memories and found family for everyone.

I will post more about her cause i love her to bits but she’s basically juan’s badass spy grandma who's got a bunch of stories from her days and she’s partially her own cool character and my excuse to write juan’s backstory since ubisoft didn’t do it.

And finally my latest oc actually doesn’t have a name yet but she’s an oluwa goddess and i’m basing her off the tirada treasures and lore, the supremo + weapons + outfit and oluso. 

i also haven't decided on a look yet, hence the two almost identical ones (i'm also conscious of trying to portray her in a way that doesn't feel overly sexual/exotic/mythical) whilst basing her look of oluso with the glowing eyes and all the symbols from the treasure hunts so she's very underdeveloped

I really want her to be like a myth in yara and an old legend so she’s gonna be thousands of years old. I have to credit @juskru for giving me such a cool idea to tie her in with the legends of 67 and specifically lucky

Her powers are definitely going to be of healing properties but she used to be much stronger. Before she could take life and death willingly and was kind of the lifeline to all living things in yara but she’s been weakened by wars and particularly when McKay Global started exploiting resources and land she can only heal wounds or injuries (and is very drained afterwards).

Even though she’s not as powerful, people still pray to her and the other Triada and I really like the idea that the Oluwa blessings are asking her to protect family members or to heal soldiers or guerrilla’s after a fight.

@juskru gave me the amazing idea to have her teach Lucky how to heal and give the basics of medicine and that’s why she’s the Legend’s top combat medic. That’s why I want to tie her story into the revolution of 67 and it reignites some of the Triada religion which the Castillo’s have historically tried to ban and suppress.

I definitely want to do more with her and the others but i’m far from finished with all of them :))))))) hope ya'll enjoy these as much as i enjoy hyperfixating lmao

**FANFICTION NEWBIE - ADVICE WANTED**

I’ve been drafting a 911 fic for a few months now, but it took me some time to organize all my ideas and pick a variation to consistently work on. I don’t really plan on posting it, it’s mainly for myself and to get ideas out of my head and written down.

911 Fic Ideas:

1. Current WIP: 911 x Motherland: Fort Salem Inspired, includes other supernatural beings/creatures (werewolves, merfolk, ghosts/spirits, etc), Emerson is a zoo veterinarian in LA and is also a witch. She becomes friends with 118 & family as her boyfriend is a firefighter at the 125. Unlike in Motherland, military service is not mandatory for witches, but a large percentage of witches have served in the military at some point. Em and her boyfriend served in the military together in the supernatural division for a few years before moving to LA.

2. OC is a werewolf and is a firefighter at the 118, story mainly about werewolves integrating into public life and jobs with their abilities no longer hidden and the conflicts that arise from fear of the unknown. OC also specializes in search and rescue with dogs, so the 118 can finally get a dog! USFS Hotshot and Smokejumper background before LAFD.

3. OC is a firefighter at the 118 and finished at the top of her class at the academy. She has superhuman strength and rapid healing, but keeps it a secret for her safety. She will use her abilities on the job just enough to help people, but never so extreme that she draws attention to herself. This all changes when there’s an accident on a bridge and a tour/charter bus nearly goes over before OC grabs the edge and drags it back on the bridge. This is captured on video and soon goes viral. Now that she’s gone public, OC must decide if she will go into hiding, or stand her ground and fight for her career as a firefighter.

4. An LA fish market and marina begins to get strange 911 calls claiming sightings of a sea monster, which were not taken seriously. A near drowning with a sighting of the monster draws more attention to the stories. Ameteur monster hunters/conspiracy theorists swarm to the marina looking for answers. Mira is a mermaid/siren who has been coming to this marina for months to observe humans. She never planned on interacting or being out in the open without camouflage, but she befriends a young girl who’s father owns one of the fish markets. Mira never thought she would go on land, but saves the girl and her father from a fire at the marina. The 118 responds to this call. She sustains injuries, and is taken to the hospital. Terrified and alone in an unfamiliar environment, struggles to escape the hospital and return to the sea.

5. OC has gravity manipulation/multiverse travel abilities, accidentally ends up in 911 universe. She can’t seem to get back to her own universe just yet, so in the meantime she puts her abilities to use to help with emergencies around LA.

I also was thinking recently about my thought process for the relationship structure for my fics and wanted to share. It presented itself like this:

Dilema:

1. I wanted an OC x Eddie

2. I wanted an OC x Buck

3. I love Buddie too much to not have it in the fics

4. I don’t want to write too many separate fics to have the above criteria, I’d rather just work on a few longer fics with lots of world building.

Solution:

This is the first story/fanfiction I’m writing that has a polyamorous relationship, so if anyone has advice or some do’s/don’ts for writing realistic poly and throples please let me know! While the stories will contain smut and have mature content, it will not be the sole focus of the stories.

Also, I’ve only dabbled in writing fanfiction over the years and have only recently returned to tumblr after a 4+ year hiatus. Patience when giving advice is much appreciated.

I have so many ideas and crossovers and world building ideas I would like to flesh out, but for now I’ve narrowed it down to a few ideas. My brain likes to randomly create mashups or weird scenarios for the shows and movies I like and sometimes I don’t know what to do with all that information.

Just a series of simple art tips I thought about during Artfight

Pretty explicit. I do be thinkin about stuff so uhh here’s some tips from me, feel free to follow or not. They aren’t expert stuff, but hey, if they can help someone out here, then that’s what matters.

1. Don’t assign one body structure for the female body and one for the male body.

I used to do that in the past, it’s extremely limiting and just straight up dumb. Shapes are used in art to convey personality to characters. Is your character strong? Slick? Kind? Shy? Because all of those personality traits can be translated into the body shape. Designing all of your female/male characters with one same body type will make your drawings repetitive, and in my opinion, not fun at all! Character design is where you have to use 100% of your creative skills, so don’t add unnecessary limits to yourself! I mainly use those 5, but feel free to try other shapes!

(NB: Of course, those traits are how I interpret those shapes, you might see other things in them.)

2. When drawing the basic pose/skeleton of the character, give it some volume from the start.

We’ve all seen those figures to help with anatomy. I’m not saying they’re not useful, but they’re flat. If you’re drawing your character not front facing, you might need to give volume to the skeleton itself, it will greatly help figuring out how to draw the rest of the body without the risk of making your character look flat.

3. Draw the entire torso before drawing the arms (and the boobas.)

The torso can be hard to apprehend. Attached to it you have the waist, the arms and sometimes breasts. Don’t make it too complicated for yourself and do one thing at a time. Make sure you pose the upper body well, make note of where exactly the arms would be attached and then you can add them. As for the breasts, drawing the chest muscles before will help you figure out where and how to place them.

4. Make your own hand references!

Hands are a nightmare to draw, everyone knows that. Don’t ever feel ashamed using references when drawing them, it’s a completely normal thing to do! Sure, google images can help with references, and some people use 3D models, but I usually prefer taking a picture of my actual hand as a reference. There are probably 20 pictures of me posing with my hand in a specific position on my phone. It takes a while to get things right, but it’s definitely worth it in the end. You (hopefully) have hands, use em! Note: The only downside of this technique is that you’ll only be able to draw your type of hands, so it’s not a perfect technique, but it does help.

5. Shading doesn’t need to be that detailed to be effective.

Even a tiny bit of shading can make your whole character look more lively. It’s a hard process, you don’t always know how light reflects on things, especially on different textures. But just adding a few touches on the hair and even a few darker zones can be enough.

On the left, no shading at all. It looks flat, to say the least. No depth, and it’s hard to distinguish textures. In the middle, I added touches on the hair to make it look like actual hair, and a bit of shading. It doesn’t have to be that detailed, it can simply be to indicate what is on front and what is in the back. On the right is the final version, with a few more filters added for the atmosphere, and highlights where the light source comes from- a thing I do when the light source is intense compared to the overall ambiance. (ie: A streetlight at night)

6. Textures 101

Adding textures can make your drawing look a bit more lively, whether it’s for backgrounds or even clothes. It is hard to draw them, so a little thing I do is to simply search textures for different materials (wood, cloth, concrete...) to add on the drawing. Now I’m not taking full credit for that technique. I remember first seeing it on a tutorial on how to draw Cuphead Game Over screens, but that was years ago and I couldn’t find it again. But the technique stuck with me and I was able to use it for other things, like adding patterns on clothes and surfaces. I use Paint Tool SAI, so I don’t know how it would work on other programs, but here’s how I do it. 1- Find your texture. Probably the hardest part. Fuckin’ watermarks 2- Slap it on your drawing. Of course you’ll need to erase where you don’t want it to be.

3- Greyscale it if necessary, and change the brightness to make it just dark enough so you can still see the texture itself, like on the drawing. 4- Copy-paste the texture, and change the brightness to make it almost white.

5- Change the layer mode of the black texture to be “Screen” and the white texture to be “Multiply”.

6- Final part: change the opacity of the layers how you see fit. As you can see on the screenshot above, the opacity can be different for both of the textures, and can vary a lot depending on how your texture looked like in the first place. But most of the time, the opacity will be around 15-30%. It’s up to you to see what opacity would fit the best, as it changes from texture to texture. The final color should resemble the flat color you had before the textures.

7. An AI can be your best friend if you ask nicely

A rather unorthodox method I discovered while drawing a background was the use of DALL-E mini to make posters. Some background elements can be a pain to figure out, and for me it’s back-alley posters. I usually add them to make walls less empty, but I often have trouble finding out what to put on them. And then I realized that today we literally have AIs that can throw out decent pics in a minute or two with enough keywords, so why not let them help? All you need is to type a prompt and you have 9 pictures you can add as a background element. It might take a few tries because the AI is still a bit dumb, but hey, it can be a huge help for you. Because those posters? They’re fresh out of the AI factory baby~

8. Stepping out of your comfort zone is not something that can be done instantly.

Final tip of mine. It’s easy to say that to get better you need to get out of your comfort zone, but doing so too quickly will get you nowhere. Perhaps you don’t know how to get rid of the same-face syndrome. Perhaps you can only draw your own body type. Perhaps you don’t know how to draw other ethnicities. Or maybe your problem resides with complex outfits and designs. And you know what? That’s okay, you shouldn’t be expected to know everything from the start. If you want to get better at art, you’ll need to step out eventually, that’s undeniable. But take the process slowly. For example, you could create an OC that has one aspect you have trouble drawing. It might help you gather some motivation to draw, and also to look up references and tutorials on how to draw that part of them you have trouble with.

If your problem resides with the way you do things in general, the tip still applies. Perhaps you’re tired of your own art style and need something fresh and better. In that case, you’ll need to figure things out one by one. How to draw a certain part of the body, what type of colors you should use- all those things, you’ll figure them out eventually, I can tell you that.

You don’t need to worry about all those things if you’re only drawing for fun. Stepping out of your comfort zone is a long and tedious process, and whoever says they never had trouble with anything is a liar. Take your time, you will get better eventually.

do you like to get 100% achievements/trophies?

Back in the playstation 3 days I’d say yes. It was a new jump for me and at the time it was pretty fun to go around playing the game to try and collect all the trophies. But now, I’m older and time isn’t really as expendable as it used to be back in the day BUT I MEAN If I see the game’s platinum trophy (100% achievement) is possible then I’ll go for it. An example of this would be Insomniac’s spider-man game. I love spider-man and I mean LOVE ‘im to death so I was all for getting that platinum trophy (and I did before the DLC). But games like Tom Clancy’s Division for instance, I’m generally not good at those eventhough I enjoy ‘em, so i just play ‘em.

I’m going to name a few cause we finna be here all day with this one. Games I’m looking forward to are Spider-man 2, There’s a supposed KH game coming out in 2023 that I’ve heard about and because it’s gonna star Sora I’m down for it, FREAKING LIKE A DRAGON ISSHIN (THIS right here is the only reason I’m depressed about not having a PS4 and they being discontinued as well. Cause i’m also broke XD), Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Megaman battlechip network HD REMASTER BABY, Legend of Zelda tears of the kingdom. Like homies I can go on.

a game you played completely blind with no prior knowledge of and enjoyed/loved

Infamous 2. It was actually my FIRST PS3 game going in. I knew nothing of inFamous 1 but I mean i’ve heard about it some time ago but I was young and dumb so i didn’t really pay much attention to it (mainly cause I didn’t have a sony console then). My first PS3 was an inFamous 2 bundle so it came with the console and boy the first few minutes of playing that game I can still clearly remember me goin’ ‘SUPER HERO STATIC SHOCK WOOP WOOP’. It was surprisingly a fun game, GREAT main character, a fantastic map, an awesome story, and the powers dude. It will always be a cherished title for me.

Pico with a writer S/O who asks him strange questions

Prologue:

On a chilly autumn morning, you were sitting out on your patio with a laptop and a mug of your favourite beverage next to you. Whenever you looked up, you could see the warm coloured leaves fall as the breeze accompanied you. The whole scene was an aesthetic.

When your boyfriend, Pico, came outside to see this, he knew that the nice environment you surrounded yourself with meant one thing. "You're back in your writing space already. Heh, with that bestseller you published, I thought you were comfy taking a break." You simply smiled and said, "can't waste the inspiration rush I got right now."

Pico had a good point though, with your rising popularity as an author, you were near set to retire before turning fourty. But you wish you weren't given all of the credit, since your boyfriend's stories of his dodgy job has occasionally sparked some ideas for your stories. However the books you wrote in the past were usually meant for the young adult and had few mature themes. This time, you thought maybe it's time to garner extra inspiration from those stories.

You were met with some disappointment when you realised that your mug was empty, only a drop entering your mouth. "Here, babe, I'll ya some more," Pico said, taking your mug and walking inside. "Quick question," you stopped him. "Yeah?"

"What would be the best place for a murder cemetery?"

"... What?"

Chapter 1:

"So you're doing some story about the police hunting down a mass murderer?"

"Pretty much."

"And to think you were gonna write Pixar's next script. Aight' I respect that." Pico takes a seat next to you with a refill of your drink placed next to your favourite writing laptop. "Thanks, Pico. But yeah, I want to branch out to something edgier, and I think you can help too."

"Let me show you what I've got so far." You showed him some of your notes in a little notepad document, detailing the story thus far and your current plans for this chapter. "Oh, that's it? Just looks like boring police preparation mainly," Pico commented. "Yeah, it's not much right now. But it'll get juicy later." "And bloody?" "And bloody."

"Welp, I'm gonna head back in," Pico got up, "let me know if you need anything." He head back inside, closing the door, but then opened it almost immediately afterwards. Pico stuck his head out, "by the way, the guy should use some strong alcohol or something to throw off those sniffer dogs."

Chapter 2:

"And then, because they used a silencer, the police don't immediately notice the--"

"Nope! I'm calling bullshit (Y/N)!" Pico had suddenly interrupted your explanation of the scene you were currently working on. "Silencers can help prevent some hearing loss, sure, but they're not magic."

"Alright," you reply, "no silencer, but the killer still has to kill in a way to not get blood on them, so I thought shooting and killing them from a distance would work." "Well, they're alone. Instead, have the guy get shanked in the neck or something, and have the killer use a plastic bag as a glove. It saved my ass one time."

"Woah!" you exclaimed with a giggle, "you used a knife once? What happened to my trigger happy boyfriend, huh? That's pretty sus."

"I forgot to reload the Uzis, alright?"

"What an impostor would say."

Chapter 3:

"What would be the best way to muffle the scream of someone you kidnapped?"

You two were sitting on the couch together watching a show. You didn't have your laptop on you, so Pico didn't expect you to still be thinking about that book. "I can't say from experience, really," he said as he paused the show. "However, shove a rag in their mouth and duct tape it in, and you should be good."

"Thanks Pico, also one more thing." "Yeah?" "What if our killer also wanted to..." God, this one was gonna be awkward, but you had to say it or else no help. "You know, cut off this victim's willy. How would you do that?"

"Wai-wha-uh-ga," Pico started fumbling his words like never before. He stopped, then took a deep breath. "YO, WHAT THE FUCK?!" "It'll make sense in the story later, I promise!" You watch Pico begin to lose it, breaking into laughter. "Ladies, gentlemen, and others," Pico dramatically stood up, pulling a little Showcaster impression and directing his arms towards you, "my famous 'young' adult novelist partner!"

Chapter 4:

It was in the dead of night, but you awoke to Pico on his phone. His vpn was on and Tor was up. As per usual, he was checking up on his little hitman service, where others could request for a certain someone's guts to fly if they paid him a hefty sum first. Though tired, you ound this to be the best time to ask him some more questions.

"Pico, how do those sites work?"

"Oh, you're awake," Pico blankly stated, sleepy too. But he still answered you. "Basically, some anonymous rich guys in the area give me money and a target, then I just do the thing and send a mission accomplished email." "Do they pay you in person?" "Nah, we use always use Bitcoin. It's a lot harder to trace than real money."

"Thanks Pico. Goodnight," you wish him, yawning and going back to sleep. "You too... So this guy is a hit man too?" "Hush. Tomorrow." "Okay." Pico puts his phone away, leaving it on a nightstand. You then spoon the night away, peacefully thinking of murder as you drifted off.

Chapter 5:

On a morning similar to before, you two sat on the patio with your drinks and laptop at the ready. Pico watched rather awkwardly as you typed away, wondering why you haven't entertained him with another question yet.

"You gonna ask anything else?" "What? Oh, nah," you plainly state. Inevitable, sure, but he was kind of saddened. He liked being able to share his messed up wisdom. "So, you're done?" "Almost." You turn to look at him, "want the spoilers?" Pico smiled, "sure thing."

In the novella you and Pico crafted together, the main character is a cop who hunts down a killer. They eventually notice that there would be two murders at a time for unknown reasons. Well, it was unknown until one victim had left up a dark web hit man for hire site. They that the hit man not only kills the target, but the client as a hidden price for the service.

And any request will be fulfilled, according to the hit man's site.

"Do they catch 'em?" Pico asked. "Well, ANY request is granted. So, if our hero were to... hire him to kill himself..."

"No way!"

"He did. They find both of their bodies in his bedroom."

Pico was a bit impressed with the ending you came up with, but then he remembered something. "Why did that guy get his thing cut off?" "Lol, I forgot," you giggled. "He sent a message to the hit man, saying he wishes the target would choke on his dick."

"That's my favourite part."

Epilogue:

After everything was finished up, you sent the book off to your editor. After the initial joy of knowing how the story ended, you saw that Pico was still in thought. "What's up with you?" "Oh nothing, well it's just... I'm probably just biased, being that I'm a bit of a hitman myself, but it's kind of sad to see the guy go."

"Then I should spoil the epilogue I came up with." Rather than being excited, Pico nervously asked, "what's an epilogue?" He didn't get an answer, only you staring at him. "Sorry, school held too many bad memories for me to pay attention."

"Anyways," you continue, "the rest of the police gang did some background checks, and find that our killer was a normal guy with no criminal history."

"Penilian?"

"No. But I did decide to take a more supernatural approach here. Somewhere across the country, another string of double homicides occur and that site is active once more. And the story kind of repeats itself."

"Penilian."

"You joker," you give him a playful little kiss on the cheek, one that definitely caught him off guard. "So is it canon?" Pico smirked. "Nah, just thanking you for being my cute little co-author." "Oh," Pico started, "so we're flirtin' now, huh. Come here babe!" He tackled you onto the ground, giving you several kisses in exchange.

"Actually, I think we call that 'making out'," you chuckle out, flustered. "But that doesn't mean I said stop'!" You pull him in for more, accidentally bonking your heads together rather painfully. "Nice double kill there, (Y/N)."

1. “I'll be your best kept secret and your biggest mistake / The hand behind this pen relives a failure everyday”

It’s such a quintessential Wentz line, and the vibe is so specific to the album, as well. It’s a little homoerotic, it’s a little self-loathing, it’s a little bit angsty. It’s got everything. What more do you want?

2. “Take our tears, put 'em on ice / ‘Cause I swear, I'd burn this city down to show you the light”

This has always been one of my favourite lyrics. Growing up, I was a small town kid. If you either are — or were previously — a small town kid, you know exactly what I mean when I say that they’re the sort of places that you either leave as a teenager, or you stay there forever. There’s just no in-between. I always knew that I was leaving. So, I’ve always loved this lyric because I was a country kid with an incredibly close group of friends. And I knew that one day I was going to leave, and they weren’t going to come with me. It was kind of an inevitable, bittersweet little tragedy, so we weren’t gonna cry about it (“take our tears, put 'em on ice”). But I would have done anything for those assholes. It was good.

3. “The best part of, ‘Believe’ is the lie / I hope you sing along, and you steal a line”

Again, I’ve always loved this wordplay. And I’m a skeptical bastard, so I like the sentiment, too. “I hope you sing along, and you steal a line” is such a good lyric in a song that’s mainly about hope and cynicism and growing up just to realise you might be a little fucked. Because it’s so ‘I hope you take this, I hope it stays with you and you keep it forever — for better or worse’. And the fact that it’s followed with “I need to keep you like this in my mind”, because it’s a give and take: it’s very ‘you hold on to these words, and I’ll hold onto the way you look tonight’. That’s pretty neat.

4. “They call kids like us vicious and carved out of stone / But for what we've become, we just feel more alone”

This is for all my intimidating homies out there! It’s just such a fun lyric. There is something isolating about the kind of person that you become in order to protect yourself from the world. As someone who has, indeed, been addressed as a ‘vicious bitch’ I get to own this one.

5. “And the poets are just kids who didn’t make it / And never had ‘it’ at all”

Every time that Pete calls himself a poet, my heart gets all gooey. I’ve been involved in the arts industry, both directly and indirectly, for a long time — and there really is this mentality that some people will just never be worthwhile creative investments because they don’t have ‘it’. It’s always a bummer to watch talented kids run themselves into the ground trying to impress people who aren’t invested in them. Also, I’m a writer and a sad bitch; so me too, Pete.

6. “I’m sleeping on your folk’s porch again, dreaming”

This is just such a warm, summer lyric for me. I’ve been that kid, passed out on a friend’s verandah/balcony, lying on the planks and sharing a shitty blanket with someone. This line specifically reminds me of being 16 and sharing a pillow with the girl I had a crush on, outside, at her parent’s place.

7. “It’s true romance is dead / I shot it in the chest then in the head”

It’s badass. It’s a game-changer. It lives in my head rent-free. Should have made it to the album. It fucks.

8. “I’m mailing letters to addresses in a ghost town”

This is just beautifully tragic imagery. It’s futile, and it’s empty. It’s twisted nostalgia and compulsive sentimentality. It’s about not being able to let things go. And you know me, folks; I’m always a slut for a ghost motif.

9. “Your secret’s out and the best part is / It isn’t even a good one”

Something about Patrick’s delivery in combination with this line? It’s just show-stopping, baby. For me, this has always felt like a particularly brutal line; something about guarding yourself against people’s judgement, and then finding out that no one even cares enough about you to throw the first stone. It’s a very ‘Pete’ fear — like, sure, they might hate me but at least they’re looking. And as long as you’re seen, you exist.

10. “To the ‘love’, I left my conscience pressed / Through the keyholes I watched you dress / Kiss and tell / Loose lips sink ships”

I love how this line flows and I love the difference between this bridge and the original chorus lyrics (“between the pages of the bible in the drawer”, etc.). Again, this song has always felt kind of ambiguously queer to me. The lines about leaving your ‘conscience’ behind, between the pages of a motel bible, reads very true to the experience of your first gay hookup. Very ‘fuck what the church has said, it’s never done a thing for me anyway’. So the difference between that and this final change — suggesting that, despite everything, the meeting still has to be kept a secret — is super compelling to me.
