LOFAM 5 ACT 2 - COVER ART
recently i had the opportunity to contribute to the new lofam so i thought i'd share the album covers i did here! (with commentary)

starting off with probably my favorite cover art for what might be my favorite song: sburban juxtaposition. the track is so good i basically drew the whole cover while listening to it on loop. coloring the meteors was a lot of fun too. rose's pose is actually inspired by miles' leap of faith from spider-man: into the spiderverse (the spiderverse movies have consumed me ever since i saw atsv in theatres, it can't be helped).

next up we have celestial company. the track is very relaxing, i figured it would make sense to replicate that feeling in the art itself through adding pleasant shades of blue to skaia and john's hood. i also added a yellow spirograph for contrast. i think it worked out pretty well!

sunbumper! a very upbeat and energetic jade track. there's two cool things about this image: one thing is a rather obvious nod to the neverending story, while the other thing is hidden in plain sight. it's a reference to outer wilds, i'll say this much.

caliborn's lament. look. i couldn't not jump at the opportunity to draw art for a song that adapts act 6 act 6 act 4. i just love caliborn, and that's all there really is to say on the matter. his comically sad face is probably the best thing i drew for this project.

karkat loses his mind and learns holy c. i tried a different style for this one, since it's for a song referencing templeos. editing the logos and all was a really funny experience. there's also this Pleasant Hoofbeast Drawing, which i never really got to use:

maybe it'll turn out better this time is a title that immediately reminded me of the retcon. in the cover art, i decided to highlight how the joy of the post retcon timeline almost completely overshadows the suffering of characters that we actually followed for years. idk, replacing these guys with slightly different versions of them always felt weird to me.
aaaaand that's it! hope you guys enjoyed these covers (and the lengthy commentary) just as much as i enjoyed making them :3

dancing is fun. that bit you could admit with pride as you finish the demanding routine that your sub-group had just finished performing in front of parents and your teammates' friends.
it all started roughly a month ago. you were just a fresh addition to your school's dance troupe when the coach announced a friendly competition between split groups within the team. you were (and are) still awkward when it came to new people but eventually, you started warming up to the 7 members of your group, one of who was already a close friend of yours. practicing was no easy feat, not with the various choreography changes and learning new skills as the process went. you thanked your lucky stars that the leaders were patient. the choreography in general was the best version you could ever ask for, you had fun doing it. one section in particular was always fun to experience, mainly the second song, which required two team members to pair up.
shikanoin heizou is one of the best dancers on the team in general (or at least, that's what you though about him). he always had this charisma and presence when it was time to perform, not to mention good-looking too. he's a year above you, and has spent way longer on the dance troupe longer than you have. now, aren't you lucky to be teamed up with him on this sweet song on the choreography? practicing the choreography with him as your partner for that specific segment was enough to label you a nervous-wreck, practically squealing inside whenever he'd cheer for the both of you during rehearsals and send you encouraging smiles.
you didn't even last a month before you had your first happy crush on one of your team members. couldn't you at least wait a year?
it was actually time to relax and eat the snacks everyone else bought to share, you were hanging out with your best friend as the others conversed with happy expressions. perhaps they were thankful the competition was a success and most of all, entertaining. minding your own business, you ate the slice of pizza you had taken from the box when heizou passed by with kazuha, earning you a teasing slap on the back from your friend that almost had you choking on your food, reverberating with a smack against your skin.
"here comes your man." she wiggles her eyebrows at you, a grin playing on her face. a groan escapes your lips at her expression. "tone it down before you threaten my dignity any further." you quip, taking another bite from the pizza.
"you two would look so good in a picture, actually." she muses, looking as if she's actually considering it. "hey, on second thought, maybe you should take a picture with him. i'm sure you'd loooove that, won't you?" she grins mischievously.
your worst fear comes true the second she opened her mouth to call for heizou, who was chatting with two other people on a nearby area in the school basketball court. you smartly drag her away with great struggle, but it's not enough to stop her from yelling out for heizou. you look away, not daring enough to ever see if heizou turned to whoever was calling.
"i swear i'm gonna bury you one day." you grunt with a struggle, pulling her back by the shoulder. you are caught off-guard when she suddenly pulls you back and tries leading you to where heizou was currently standing.
"come— on—! it won't be that bad!" she reasons with you. you think fast and take the jacket where she was pulling you by the sleeve on off and make a break for it.
unfortunate for you, your best friend is a fast runner, especially in those massive shoes she was wearing. she catches up to you on the other side of the court in no time and drags you back with choked breaths. "damn you and your lanky legs." you hiss, a frown making its way to your face. you concede and let her drag you to heizou, but not without fighting back last minute but is quickly overpowered again.
"hi heizou!" she greets him with a smile, pulling you quickly to her side.
"hi heizou..." you awkwardly greet in a meek voice, trying your best to make eye contact with your senior.
he smiles at the both of you. good god what if he saw the little brawl you had with your friend before this?
"y/n said she wanted a picture with you!" she chirps, taking out her phone with a smile. your head snaps to her then at heizou, you feel your cheeks violently heat up and you pray to whatever entity above that you weren't visibly blushing from embarrassment and nervousness. your heart pounds slightly and you begin to internally fidget.
"sure." heizou replies, taking his place beside you and switching with your friend. your friend starts to count down and the both of you pose with smiles on your face.
the moment she stops snapping photos, the whole thing felt like it dragged on for an hour. you were well on your way to dying of humiliation. you shoot your best friend a death glare before turning to the redhead with a polite tug of your lips.
"thank you for the picture." an awkward laugh reaches heizou's ears and he waves it off.
"it's nothing. you did good today. hope to see you when school starts, yeah?" your cheeks heat up at his words and you nod, waving at him.
as you and your friend start going the other direction, she turns back one last time and yells something that would've put you in a coma.
"she thinks you're hot, you should see the tweets she's made about you!" you feel yourself go faint from embarrassment and smack her shoulder in retaliation, earning the both of you a good laugh. you hear the chuckle that came from both kazuha and heizou, wanting the ground to eat you whole.
she did you the favor of printing the picture out on film and it now hangs proudly on the surface of your bedroom's bulletin board.

How It Turned Out - Harry Styles Fic Part 1
Y/N is a musician who started her career around the same time Harry went solo. They’ve never met, but they share a lot of the same fans and are frequently compared to one another. 
In part 1 Y/N is reluctantly being interviewed on the Howard Stern show, and doesn’t hesitate to put him in his place.

Howard: So, Y/N the new record is great, are you happy with how it turned out?
Y/N: Haha well, you would hope I was happy with it, otherwise it would’ve been a bit silly to release it. I think it’s my favourite album so far, just because of the balance between different moods. Its a bit sweet, a bit sad, a bit sexy, a bit silly. And that feels true to me as a person you know. 
Howard: It’s definitely sexy, I’ll give you that much! I mean wow. The most recent single especially. What inspired you to write about sex between women like that?
Y/N: Most of my music is inspired by my life in some way. I’ve written songs about having sex with men, too. It’s just that this one stands out a little more because it’s something people haven’t seen as much. 
Howard: Well, I for one say bring on more songs like it. I mean, I’ll let you in on a secret here Y/N, hearing about women having sex like that is an absolute wet dream for guys like me. 
Y/N: *gives him an icy stare* I didn’t right the song for guys like you, I’m afraid. I wrote it for girls like me. There’s so little written about queer sex, and especially queer sex that is both sexy and funny. So that’s what inspired the song I suppose.
Howard: Huh, well I don’t what you’re smoking when you’re having sex that’s that funny, but sign me up!
Y/N: *stifles a snort of laughter* Ah, well I’m sorry, not every one is cut out to be able to entertain their partners. But don’t worry there’s still time to learn. *looks slyly at the camera* I think it’s easy to have fun during sex when you know what you’re doing.
Howard: *suddenly defensive* Right, we better move onto the next question I think... 
Y/N: Go ahead.
Howard: There’s been quite a lot of chat about you being the Female Harry Styles. What do you make of that?
Y/N: *struggles not to roll her eyes, she’s been asked about this a lot* It’s always flattering to be compared to another artist, especially one as talented as Harry. And I see where people a coming from a little, we definitely have a few of the same influences, and we share the same penchant for flamboyant outfits and rainbow flags. It’s always a little frustrating, though, to be reduced to the “female version” of someone else. I mean, he may have had a head start from being in the band, but our solo careers started at pretty similar times. We’ve both built our own careers, and mine isn’t really anything to do with his. 
Howard: Ah so you’d prefer it if he was being called the male version of you then? Or maybe just another female version of you if he keeps dressing like that, haha!
Y/N: I don’t think it’s really appropriate for you to be making judgements about another person’s gender or their clothing. But you’ve illustrated pretty well there how reductive it is to put people into little boxes like that.
Howard: Oof, you’re a feisty one aren’t you.
Y/N: I get that a lot.
Howard: I believe that, I tell you.
Y/N: I find that it’s a word men use when faced with a woman they don’t know what to do with.
Howard: *stunned silence*
Y/N: Shall we move on to the next question?
Howard: Yes, um. Uh, a lot of your fans have been practically begging you to collaborate with Mr Styles, is that something that’s in the pipeline?
Y/N: I wouldn’t say so, given that we’ve not met each other, but never say never.
Howard: So what does make you want to collaborate with other artists. You’ve worked with quite a few different people over the years, including on the new record.
Y/N: *relieved that the interview is finally headed somewhere less uncomfortable* It’s great fun working with other artists, so that’s one of the main things. I’m not gonna waste time writing a song with someone if it’s gonna feel like pulling teeth.
Howard: Smart.
Y/N: Haha, yeah. But I also like working with people when it feels like we’ve got something we want to say together, you know. Maybe shared experience, a shared passion or an issue we want to bring attention to. That’s when I find collaborating most rewarding. 
Howard: Speaking of which, Now seems like a good time for you to play us a song..!

"Never to change, ever to share...": An off-the-rails analysis of "Now And For Always" from the Lord of the Rings musical
Good day to you, my dears.
"Now And For Always" is my favorite song of all time and has been since I first heard it at age 16. With the revival of the musical giving us a ✨whole new arrangement✨ of the song, I decided now would be as good a time as any to analyze it as a whole and take a look at a few of the changes made to see how each version accomplishes exactly what it set out to accomplish with it's storytelling from a musical perspective.
A QUICK NOTE BEFORE WE START: While in the original production of the show, "Now And For Always" is clearly diegetic (that is, the characters in the show are actually singing the song in the world of the show), it's a bit more debatable in the new production. Samwise Gamgee is a wonder, but I find it hard to imagine him schlepping an entire guitar to Mordor - this ain't Hadestown, after all (the "Wait for me"/"And I'm coming with you" thing would require an entirely separate post 😉). Regardless, for the sake of analysis and also my sanity, we are going to say that the song is 100% diegetic in both versions of the show.
Key: NA = new/revival arrangement
OA = old/original arrangement
SO
First lets take a look at what stays the same between both versions (which is most of the song, tbh) and see what can be seen. We're gonna get lightly music-y here.
This song is in 6/8 time signature, which basically just means that it's counted out in two groups of 3 notes each - 123, 456 - with a sort of slope-y feeling to it, like rising up to 3 and falling back down to 6. You can also count it in a very slow 2/2 (1, 2), with each of those being on the 1 beat and then the 4 beat of the 6/8 counting pattern. This time signature has the effect of making it slow and relaxing, but still sound Hobbit-y, in a rather country-ish way. This time signature could technically become a very fast waltz, and it does lean into a natural sort of swaying motion when you listen to it. Perfect for singing around the fire.
The rhythm of the song itself is interesting because it's very speech-like. If you try to speak the words out loud in rhythm, it doesn't actually sound that off from a typical English speaking rhythm. This makes it very easy to learn, and very easy to add your own words to, as its implied Sam and Frodo are doing as they sing it. Lassi Longren, the composer of the song, said that it wanted it to sound like an old song that the Hobbits all know and sing around the fire, and the idea of a song like this with a chorus that everybody knows and then verses that are improvised by individual singers makes a lot of sense (makes me think of, like, "The Campfire Song" from The Lightning Thief - a song that is also in 6/8 and with a very speech-like rhythmic pattern).
The chordal structure also contributes to this homey, comfortable feeling. The song is in the key of D major, which is a fairly middling key (it's the key that most pennywhistles are automatically tuned to!), and is constructed around just 3 chords, with 1 more thrown in there if you want the cadence on "strange and rare" to sound correct. This makes it extreeeeeeemely easy to play - like I can barely play guitar, but I can reasonably play this. For the music nerds, the chords are I, IV, and V, with a little vi for that one cadence I mentioned earlier. This is essentially the most basic group of chords ever created, and it seems very intentional to me - it makes the whole thing feel comfortable and familiar, like it's an old song you know, even if it's your first time hearing it (Fun fact: The Shire theme from the Peter Jackson films uses also uses this chord group!). The only this about the song that might make it tricky to sing along with is its range - it's more than an octave, which can be hard to span if you're not a practiced singer. But you know, sometimes you just gotta have that fun melodic contour. Song gets boring if it stays all within too small of a range. :P
Okay so that's all the basic musical stuff that's the same between both arrangements. Time for the differences.
The most major musical differences in the NA as I can see are: Frodo and Sam switching who is singing the higher vocal part and who has the lower part during the second chorus, different instruments being used for the solo instrumental lines, and the whole of Frodo's solo verse and chorus. These all serve the major thematic change in this moment in the NA, but I'll get to that at the end.
First, the vocal lines in the chorus. You all know how much I looooove that Frodo is always on the lower part in the original show (see this whole post I wrote about it here!), and I equally love Sam getting the higher part in the OA for this song. It fits his character and part in the song very well - he started it off, he's done the improvising bit; after one chorus of unison to make sure that Frodo has a handle on the melody, he can pop off. Young, dreamy, surprisingly poetical Sam, with his love for elves & beauty & all things that grow, gets the chance to soar, while Frodo stays lower, hanging onto the melody. It almost works like foreshadowing for their characters, with Sam audibly choosing to do so much while it seems like Frodo is just there, but Frodo's actually doing the arguably far more important part of carrying the melody.
In the NA, they are flipped - now Sam stays on the melody while Frodo pops up to the higher part, and it still works just as well. Frodo's actually been on the higher part for the whole show up to this point, cause that's just how Louis Maskell rolls (the one very significant moment where he sings a lower harmony to Sam's melody is right before he leaves at the Grey Havens, which I could probably write a whole 'nother essay about), but it doesn't screw with the character perception in the way I had initially feared. Sam starts the song, Sam's got the guitar, so Sam stays on the melody, to carry the thing through. This now leaves Frodo free to do his thing with Sam's support. And this is where I start heading into headcanon territory, but I can't help but think by the easy way he slipped into it that maybe Frodo has sung this part before. He canonically has a nice voice (the Breelanders like it so much that they make him sing "The Man In The Moon Stayed Up Too Late" twice in the book!), and it would make sense for a naturally talented singer to get enough experience singing that they are able to whip out a higher part just for fun - maybe, if they ever sang this one down at the Ivy Bush, or by the fireplace in the parlor of Bag End, this was Frodo's part. And speaking from the same character perspective, Frodo is also everything I described Sam as before - dreamy, poetical, sweet - he's just older and, at this moment, significantly more tired both mentally and physically. But, he hasn't lost his hope yet, so he can still reach down and bring out a past version of Frodo, one who could sing that part in the song.
Next, the instruments. This is pretty simple; there aren't a lot of changes, but the one significant moment is the use of a harmonica instead of a fiddle for the solo in the middle of the song. Both versions of the show have instruments associated with certain characters (harp for Arwen, whistle for Frodo, concertina for Gollum, etc.) but the NA has the advantage of having all the actors play instruments, so it becomes rather explicit. In this case, the harmonica is being played by and associated with Bilbo, and that's neat, because this is a continuation of a story that he was also a part of. The fiddle in the OA is more representative of hobbits as a whole, so it also works in context.
Aaaaand the last one, the arrangement of Frodo's verse and chorus. This one is a doozy, because this is where we will be involving my theory on the different reasons for Sam starting the song.
So, the first time I heard the NA "Now And For Always", I actually started yelling IRL "IT'S A HYMN" as soon as it got to Frodo's verse+chorus, because, well, it is. Lemme explain. The orchestrations shift from the guitar and strings of the rest of the song so that Frodo is backed primarily by the ensemble singing "Oohs" and some sort of drone bass note underneath that I can't figure out (probably like a cello or something). The tempo suddenly becomes a lot slower and a lot less "bouncy", so to speak - that 6/8 time rising and falling pattern that I described before is significantly downplayed, and there are a lot more complete rests in the music, and that gives the whole thing overall a much straighter feel. This all gives a very hymn-like effect, particularly the "ooh"s, because voices moving between chords like that in a homophonic way (that is to say, everyone changes notes at the same time) is common in chorale-style hymns, and the drone, because having something called a "pedal point" (one note held underneath multiple chords) makes the music sound a lot older and more solemn. This is in contrast to the OA, which has, while not the exact same backing in Frodo's verse+chorus (it does get slower, and more smooth and flowing in the instruments), certainly much less contrast between Frodo's bit and the rest of the song than the NA. They both do this, but the NA just a bit more emphasizes how serious Frodo is about what he's saying. It's also is a texture that we haven't heard yet in the show and won't really hear again, so it kind of demonstrates the changes going on in Frodo by this point, like he's becoming something not quite of the world (sort of like all those comments in the book about him being "clear" or having a light shining through him). From a practical standpoint, it's also because Sam had been playing the guitar this whole time, and now he has gone to bed, so no more guitar. But above all, the vibe that making it sound like a hymn gives it is reverence, and that is important for the next bit.
Hoo boy, it's extrapolation/headcanon time. I've done a lot of actual musical analysis, but there comes a point where you have to take all those things you've gleaned and start spitballing about what they mean when combined all together. Here's what I have landed in: The changes in the NA reflect a change in Sam's motivation for starting the song in the first place.
Lemme explain.
In the scene before "Now And For Always", the boys are discussing Frodo's realization that destroying the Ring means that the elves will leave, and that there will be no more magic in the world. It's as they reflect on these very big changes that Sam starts singing a song about how at least some things stay the same. NOW. In the OA, Sam and Frodo start off the song in much the same place, emotionally - they're both kind of moody and mournful, feeling shaken at the idea of everything changing in such a big way, and missing the days when they believed that stories always ended with things returning to a happy normal. Sam's line "We hobbits only really like stories that end just the way they started, don't we?" is sort of a rueful realization that they are both severely freaked out by all of this because they come from a place that values unchangingness so highly. Sam starts the song as a way to bring them both some comfort by reminding them of home. He then fills in the bit about Frodo during the second verse because Frodo mentioned special folk and great adventures, they're both so tired that everything's funny, and Sam genuinely adores Frodo and knows how brave and important what he's doing is. Frodo's verse about Sam, in turn, is sung almost like a lullaby, which makes sense, as lullabies are often directed at the person falling asleep. So Frodo sings to Sam as he falls asleep about how much he admires him right back, sort of returning the compliment, like in the book. The way he says "it's not me they'll remember, you know" just before he starts singing has this weird sort of regretful tone to it, as if Frodo has kinda always known that his would be a thankless task, and that Sam, taking charge and leading them around and taking care of them, will be the one who goes down in history as being instrumental. He has been seeing this whole time how much Sam has done for him, and he knows that in time, others will too.
In the NA, on the other hand, the vibes of the scene before the song are somewhat different. The lines do not change at all, but the attitude from each of them is different. Here, we have the exact same conversation, but Frodo is audibly more stressed about it (not to mention more audibly exhausted), and Sam, in response, is keeping his tone very neutral, almost lighthearted at times. That general vibe continues into the song, which I thought was weird at first, until I realized what Sam is doing. Frodo is very shaken by all the big changes that he sees coming, so Sam responds by reminding him about the songs that they used to sing the Ivy Bush - the ones where nothing ever really changes. He says the line from above about hobbits liking stories that end the way they started like he's reminding Frodo of a fun fact, which is that despite everything going on around him, there are still plenty of stories about heroes where things are allowed to go back to the way they were. In other words, while the OA of "Now And For Always" is two people trying to comfort themselves by singing something that reminds them of home, the NA is Sam Gamgee Is Going To Cheer Up His Best Buddy Or Die Trying, first by reminding him that plenty of things do stay the same, and then by getting a bit silly and describing Frodo as one of the heroes (who, I will remind you, are allowed to go home unchanged). He goes until he sees a sign that he has succeeded somewhat in his quest - remember my headcanon about Frodo singing the higher part being indicative of his old self shining through? That could certainly be a signal to Sam that his little idea worked. More likely, the fact that Frodo starts waxing poetic about plum cake (which is so valid of him, tbh) when a few minutes ago he had to be ordered to sit down and eat something is also a sign to Sam that Frodo feels better, at least for the moment. So he feels alright to go to sleep. And then Frodo sings his part. And THAT'S why the reverent tone I mentioned earlier is so important. Because it makes it seem like Frodo also realizes, in this moment, what Sam has just been doing, and what Sam has been doing this whole time. The pauses in the music make it seem like he's coming to awareness, step by step, of just how much Sam has done for him, and the only possible emotional response for something that earth-shatteringly loving is reverence. And THAT'S why the NA ending works so gosh darn well - it gets across everything that Frodo is thinking and feeling in this moment with the music as well as the lyrics.
So, yeah. I don't have, like, much of a conclusion for all this. These are just a bunch of things that I observed about these two songs and then my brain running absolutely buckwild with extrapolating conclusions from there. And a lot of this is my own interpretation of what I hear, so if you thought something different, that's totally fine! Also, this is entirely based on only being able to hear what's going on, so if you've seen the show and I got the vibes super off for part of it, please let me know. :)

Long Summary: Leonor and Roxanne had only planned their usual afternoon, reading fanfics on the floor of Nell's room and chatting about their favorite love interests. Doing weird hairstyles and screaming the lyrics to various Nickelback songs was on the schedule but nighttime they both learn a very valuable lesson. Don't go looking too deep into the internet!
Roxy and Nell both pay the price when finding themselves in the middle of...nowhere? That is until they walk through the snow for a bit and notice that they are now direct spectators of the very scene they'd been about to read!
Chapter 1
Growing up and moving out had never stopped two good cousins from acting like kids and sharing a flat for their studies certainly wasn't gonna stop Roxanne or Leonor from having sleepovers in each other's room.
Tonight was Nell's turn. The plan was simple! Celebrate the ending of second term globals with weird ass skincare products they'd never even touched before, blast music low enough for no neighbors to come complaining, and mix up sweets and energy drinks while devouring sour candy and Takis.
Nothing new or out of the ordinary, most time these sleepovers didn't involve as much food but today was special. Roxanne had gotten second place in a large judo tournament that took place in their city, the black long haired girl was almost vibrating with excitement at the news so of course her older cousin and roommate had taken it upon herself to make tonight specially fun.
"We could've got drinks?!"
Nell was snapped out of her intense focus by Roxy's words, it's true Roxanne's 18 and she's 19 going on 20 in less than two months. Feeling up to a teasing mood Nell pulled unnecessary hard on Roxanne's pitch black long straight hair with a smirk as she continued the intricate hairstyle she'd been working on for the past hour, this was their second attempt at perfecting.
"What's up with the comment? Are you feeling alcoholic young lady?! Meh didn't feel like buying that, energy drinks are more of a rush and it did feel kind of depressing to think of us both having a pijama party just to drink wine like old widowed wives."
Roxanne didn't really react to hair pulling, I mean the woman could put down a fully grown man without any weapons it was to be expected that she didn't feel bothered by Nell's petty hair pulling. She did hum in agreement with Leonor when hearing her reasoning and chugged another drink at her glass.
"How much left? Not that you're pulling too harshly but my neck feels sore in this position"
"Give me five more minutes, I like your hair, this type of stuff can't really be done on my hair! Or at least I can't manage on myself unless I spend a full hour untangling this bird nest"
Nell complained referring to her thick brown curls that were struggling to pull out under their containment from the hair claw she had on.
It wouldn't usually click to people, that she and Roxy were actually cousins at least not until they saw them interact with one another.
Roxanne was the absolute definition of a black cat type of girl, with her straight black hair and resting bitch face no one would expect to see her running into Leonor's arms for a hug to celebrate her victory. She loved dressing in black and wouldn't think twice before pulverizing someone's ego if she deemed it necessary. Standing on 1'64 meters she could somehow still manage to look down on anyone twice her size with her icy blue eyes.
Leonor on the other hand was usually all smiles and apologies, almost like a reflex at this point.

Q. This is a ‘Special’ digital single release. What did you do to make it ‘special’?
지유(JI U) : We made it special by making it about the reason Dreamcatcher could exist so far. From the moment of our birth, nobody can live alone. We need the help of others, we learn from the wisdom of others, and that allows us to be part of the world. Dreamcatcher also exists thanks to the hard work of so many people and the special love given to us from the InSomnias.
수아(SU A) : More than anything else, the fact that it’s a song for the InSomnias makes it special. Just imagine, someone could listen to it reminiscing over the journey we’ve been sharing. Doesn’t that make it special?
Q. The title of the song is ‘REASON’. What reason did you mean by it?
드림캐쳐(Dreamcatcher) : As you can see from the line ‘Cause you are the REASON’, it means that everything we’ve been through -  Dreamcatcher’s 6th anniversary, the precious win, our contract renewals - was all for the fans. We thought it was the best way to express our gratitude.
Q. Lots of musicians express their gratitude and affection for their fans. Still, Dreamcatcher’s love for your fans seem to go a step further. What kind of bond do you have with your fans? What kind of energy do you get from them?
시연(SIYEON) : First off, they give us the strength to go on. Also, above everything, they make us better people. When I feel how loved I am, I find myself working even harder so that I can return that love many times over.
한동(HANDONG) : The InSomnias are more than fans to us, they’re like family. I think the love flows both ways in our case, and I know I was able to weather tough times and grow further thanks to the InSomnias.
Q. The song also commemorates your 6th anniversary. Looking back, what do you yourselves think of the last 6 years?
유현(YOOHYEON) : Sometimes I was peaceful and turbulent in others, but looking back, I was braver and shone more brightly than ever before. It’s my youth itself!
다미(DAMI) : It was like fire. It was intense enough to burn and hurt you, but I was able to be that passionate.
가현(GAHYEON) : Lots of tough times and happy times happened in the last 6 years. But being together made me happy!
Q. During the recording, how did each member interpret their part to bring out their own charm?
시연(SIYEON) : Personally, I got lots of parts that stretch outwards. So I vowed to use energetic rock vocal tones. It’s been a while since I used my head voice this much, so it was fun. Plus, since this is a fan song, I tried to sound dependable.
유현(YOOHYEON) : I utilized the rock vocal tones I learned from being Dreamcatcher to the maximum, and tried to invoke the overwhelming, diverse emotions that we experienced because this is telling our own story.
Q. The powerful rock aspect is one of the elements that set Dreamcatcher apart.The new song also contains intense rock sounds. What does the rock spirit mean to Dreamcatcher?
수아(SU A) : It broadened our musical horizons, and made us firmer on stage. Rock as a genre became our color, our strength - and it gives us a lot of energy on stage too.
다미(DAMI) : Rock spirit, to us, is the color. Every member has different music tastes, so we could mix in different genres with rock and create something uniquely ours.
Q. The song has a part that sounds like a crowd singing along to it in a rock festival. Imagine releasing a live version of the song, or performing the song with fans. How would you do it?
지유(JI U) : The song is incomplete. It will only be completed when we sing it with the InSomnias in a live performance!
한동(HANDONG) : I think it’s a song that everyone could enjoy at a concert. We would make the performance together, mixing in parts of our old choreographies!
가현(GAHYEON) : Especially for the encores. I want to sing along with everyone.
Q. Sometimes, the momentum you build up takes you to a completely different place than where you started from. As you said, as the fans are the energy source for Dreamcatcher, you could say the global fandom completes Dreamcatcher as an artist. From your current position, what is your new driving force, your goal moving forward?
수아(SU A) : ‘Just keep it as good as it was till now’ might sound bland, but even just keeping that takes a lot of effort. My goal is to keep giving people good music while communicating and supporting each other with the InSomnias - just like what we’ve done so far - for a long time to come.
시연(SIYEON) : Thank you for that sentiment! To be honest, I don’t think our goals have changed from the beginning. Showing our fans our best selves, becoming better singers, these are dreams that don’t have an end. As always, our energy is the InSomnias, our families and the members.
가현(GAHYEON) : I want our music to console and bring happiness to lots of people.
Q. Your music videos and visual content has been very consistent and very true to your team identity. Was there something you intended to really express in this new album?
드림캐쳐(Dreamcatcher) : Through happiness and through sadness, the InSomnias have always had our backs. Their endless love brought us this far, and the tower in the music video is an allegory of that journey. Dreamcatcher heads towards the top of the tower, and InSomnias offer to take our hands. That old friendship is symbolized by the 7 butterflies once seen in the ‘Fly High’ music video, one of our earlier songs.
Q. The great camaraderie and chemistry between Dreamcatcher members is also famous. Did you learn something again about each other or get a special story from the recording?
지유(JI U) : Before the recording, we talked to each other a lot about renewing our contracts. We learned once more just how deep and firm our love for the team and for each other was through that conversation. Our unified heart really shows itself in the music, I think.
한동(HANDONG) : In my part of the song, there’s a word that really moves me. That is ‘InSomnia’. I sang it thinking about the journey and the love we shared with the InSomnias.
유현(YOOHYEON) : Before we start recording, we get to hear the song to decide on how the parts will be divided. Because our members have been together for so long, we tend to speculate and discuss which part would suit which member the best. On this album, every member showed so much growth. They were so professional, beyond my expectations. That was amazing and admirable to see.
다미(DAMI) : There’s a group singing part in this song. When I was in the recording booth, I was listening to the recordings of the members who did it before me, and realized how alike we sounded. They say love makes people look alike, and I wondered if our voices were getting similar too.
Q. You are about to take your next step towards your next chapter. What does Dreamcatcher have planned next and what musical direction will you take?
드림캐쳐(Dreamcatcher) : Dreamcatcher has always tried new things and built new paths. We’ll continue to try different and new things so that we can keep bringing diverse acts forth and live up to the expectations. We will also include diverse messages in our music, continuing on our path as artists.

ooh, okay, taking these one at a time.
1. The entirely non-flippant answer I have to give is "it depends on what you want to have happened." I recognize that's unsatisfying! But the great thing about Yi City as a story is that it is somehow simultaneously agonizingly inevitable and infinitely malleable.
So I can see a version where Xiao Xingchen finds out who Xue Yang is some other way, they argue, Xue Yang whips out his fun fierce corpse trick trivia, Xiao Xingchen kills himself. Or a version where that all happens but Xiao Xingchen refuses to believe that Xue Yang was telling the truth, kills Xue Yang, and spends a long, long time grieving and miserable and full of doubt. Or a version where Xiao Xingchen finds out who Xue Yang is some other way, takes a-Qing, and leaves, because he can't stand to kill his friend but he also can't stand to stay. Xue Yang follows, because of course he does. Does he catch up? What happens when he does? Or a version where Xiao Xingchen finds out who Xue Yang is and everything about the fierce corpse stuff and tries to kill himself but Xue Yang is able to stop him and they're left frozen in horrible, dysfunctional limbo where Xiao Xingchen can't die but can't live but can't kill his friend but can't let his friend live.
Or there's a version where Xiao Xingchen never knows. Where they live the rest of their lives - or at least, the rest of Xue Yang's life, which is likely to be significantly shorter than Xiao Xingchen or a-Qing's - in blissful domesticity, Xiao Xingchen entirely ignorant and Xue Yang settling comfortably into his new life. The rest of the world never intrudes.
Or Xiao Xingchen never knows, another cultivator comes to town and recognizes Xue Yang and kills him. Xiao Xingchen learns who he was after the fact and has to deal with both the grief of his friend's death, a lot of unanswered questions, and a lot of guilt. Xiao Xingchen doesn't learn who he was and only knows that his friend was murdered.
Anyway, you get the picture. I think the main thing is that I've seen it said that it was inevitable that it was going to fall apart eventually, and I don't necessarily think that's true. In one sense it is. In another it isn't. It's inevitable and it's infinitely escapable. That's what makes it so good.
2. I am not much of an omegaverse person with, like, two exceptions in my fandom life, and I'm afraid to say that xuexiao has not been one of them. I'm sorry! It's just not my bag in general for a lot of reasons and I don't think it adds anything for me here.
3. I'm afraid I am going to immediately bounce off pretty much any pairing that has Nie Mingjue in it because of my general indifference/dislike of the man, and that one I find particularly troublesome because it doesn't have Jin Guangyao in it and often, ime, comes along with certain opinions about Jin Guangyao that I vehemently do not share. Also though I am very much a multishipper in this case my Xiyao heart just can't take it.
As far as Jiang Cheng/Jin Zixuan, I feel like I spend so much of my energy around Jiang Cheng obsessing about his sibling relationships and his relationship with Jin Ling that I don't have space to ship him with other people (and also pretty squarely headcanon him as ace besides), but purely conceptually I find the idea of Jin Zixuan having at least a little bit of a thing for every one of the Yunmeng siblings (yes, including Wei Wuxian) patently hilarious.

So I've only seen a few things with Vincent Price, but your posts and tags always really make me want to watch more! Which movies of his would you recommend the most?
Oh, I'm so glad! I am quite a new fan girlie of his, there are others here who know way more about him than I do, like the lovely @ilovemesomevincentprice of course!
The more I learn about him the more I absolutely adore him, and though I haven't seen all of his work yet what I have seen has been absolutely delightful!
Dragonwyck (1946) black and white period drama based on the novel which is very good as well. Every farm girl's dream of marrying a handsome and wealthy landowner and going to live in his manor in 19th century New York. Vinny is so very dashing, and not quite the hero (that sneer!) and there is a beautiful ballroom dancing scene out on the balcony. The Cardinal catches Mouse reading this novel on his bed in sadglo after the disastrous dinner party lol.

House on Haunted Hill (1959) black and white horror film. Campy, creepy, and fun, with a very sexy dysfunctional marriage, and some delicious hair-pulling. There is a 1999 remake where Geoffrey Rush plays a hammed up version of Vincent Price which is also worth a cheesy watch, though it can't hold a candle to the original. Also, how do I become a cigarette?

Tales of Terror (1962) horror trilogy based on tales from Edgar Allan Poe. Some incestous vibes, comedy, and beautiful ladies swooning in terror. In my favourite tale, there is a star of a black cat and Vinny as a delightful wine taster, and lover (almost Terzo-esque). Also a horrible wtf dream sequence lol.

The Haunted Palace (1963) horror film with wonderful Poe and Lovecraftian vibes. I just want to live there with him, in his candle-lit mansion. And be assaulted in my bed in the middle of the night. I think I deserve that.

Twice-Told Tales (1963) another horror anthology, based on the works of Nathaniel Hawthorne (he wrote The Scarlet Letter). More incestous vibes, blood, and Vinny throwing a pretty lady to the ground! He literally slaps in this film, I don't know if he's ever been more handsome.

The Comedy of Terrors (1964) horror comedy film which is an absolute delight! So good. Vinny is an absolute jerk in this, a real dick, a bastard, yet somehow you can't help but love him! Another cat (orange this time), Vinny in a waistcoat, and sexy strangulation.

The Masque of the Red Death (1964) horror film with more Poe vibes. Vinny is very Cardinal in this, he plays a literal satanist! What I would give to be taken up to his castle, and persuaded to share in his unholy faith! So much sexual tension here, it's maddening.

The Great Mouse Detective (1986) I had to include this animated mystery adventure sherlock film because it was one of my favs as a little girl and I didn't even know that Vinny voiced the villain! A rat, no less! In a black suit and cape! There is also a cat, lol. Vinny performs two songs in this, and he's delightful, I just love it!

Vincent was so talented, and seemed to impart a sensual depth to every villain, making them much more interesting than any hero could ever be. He is so very Cardinal Copia-esque, in his looks and in his mannerisms, so my love for him just feels natural. A wonderful man, who played wonderful characters flawlessly!

In 2002 Julian Koster of the Music Tapes notified those on E6 Townhall that he was going to begin selling CD-R copies of his upcoming albumThe 2nd Imaginary Symphony for Cloudmaking. A little while later he came through with a first shipment, and fans received a CD-R with a strand of Julian's hair just hanging out from under a label depicting crayon-colored clouds. Because of a long delay in shipping the orders, he sent a hand-drawn "Friends of the Music Tapes" tee-shirt with each package. Julian also mentioned that he had so much fun sending out these packages that he was considering self-releasing the album instead of sending it out via Merge Records. He told us that what we had was a rough mix, and was already becoming more layered and complex as he worked on it.

My wife and I sat down to listen to the 2nd Imaginary Symphony on September 11, 2002, finally turning off the television after endless retrospectives that featured the same footage of planes crashing into the towers. The album begins with a little bit of singing saw, and a narrator--not Julian, but the sort who might narrate one of those old Walt Disney storybook records for children--tells us the story of a young boy named Nigh who follows a mysterious older friend to a factory that produces the clouds of the sky. Apart from the saw (which succumbs to a lovely crescendo in the finale), there's no singing, and no songs. But it's quintessential Music Tapes.

A little while after that we received a second package, a second CD-R, and two more tee shirts. Apparently Julian lost his first shipment list, found our letter, and send one tee shirt for my wife and myself, thinking we hadn't received the first one. I gave the CD-R to my brother-in-law as a birthday gift; I don't believe he ever listened to it. The tee shirts we haven't worn, and they're a bit wrinkled in these photos because for a couple years they've been tucked into a dresser. Now they're hanging up, and I'll have to iron them and take one out on the town when the weather gets warmer. It's almost four years since Julian sent the CD-Rs out, but last August Julian recently posted at the Townhall to reassure us that more Music Tapes material is coming, including the official release of the 2nd Imaginary Symphony. He wrote: "Hello, hello! Goodmornings, afternoons, and evenings to you all! I just wanted to share with you all that the song album is being mastered in early September, and has in fact left the womb, and though I love it very much It is now time to let it go lead its own life. The final version of the story record has already been mastered, and is worth waiting for (rather than seeking out the early versions i promise). There will not be any word on release dates untill early fall, so I'm afraid there IS still a wait before you, but much shorter than those you've grown use to." In the meantime, I know some have been curious to see what the shirts* looked like, so here are some photos. The most elaborate shirt features the following text (all grammar and spellings are "sic"):

"Late August, corner of W. 80th St. and Amsterdam Avenue in New York City. 2000 and two. And old woman in a rain slicker is loading most of her belongings into a trunk on the street. Her belly is full of Hominy Grits. She learned the recipie from her Grandmother as a little girl. She still remembers drawing pictures with her bare Fingers in the Steam clouded windows accross from the stove. She still remembers fealing warm and Safe. How her grandfather could make a spoon float several feet in the air above her, without even lifting a finger. He seldome Spoke, and never Smiled. This parlor trick was the Sole means of Communication between them. I hope she doesn't mind me writing all of this down. She does Not know me, nor I, her. I am familliar only with the warmth that traveled A million human miles and took the care to visit her image upon me for even the briefest of Moments. She will load her trunk intoo the Caboose of a Great passenger train. She will fall in love with a man her own age. Together they will invent a methode of playing the piano that allows for the Storage and Compartmentalization of time. In this way they will begin the Capturing and preservation of indevidual moments. They will build themselves a Workshop in a functioning German Clock tower. They will begin with the preservation of random moments, and eventualy find themselves drawn mostly to moments of sentimentality. The Old Woman sits and blows on her fingers. It's winter. Her hands are cold. She Plays a moment from her childhood. A windy day, the Sun filters through the clouds. It's 1920. There is a great wind, and the mustache of a distinguished gentleman is blown clear off his face. The moustache, a trimmed handlebar, takes flight, Flapping through the air in a birdlike fashion. It is soon joined by the moustaches of Several other men. The wind blows and blows. The moustaches, now numbering in the thousands, migrate Southward for the winter. The old woman stops playing. The Old man walks over to her and Smiles. They love each other dearly. In time they will run out of moments of their own sentimentality to distill and preserve. And so they will begin to detail yours. At 1st you will apear to them in dreams. Only when you wear this Shirt. They will coment on their common dreams, and begin to compare notes. In their dreams they will always try to read this Shirt. They will never succede. My Writing is too small and illegeible. My spelling to difficult to decode. They will grow fond of you, and look forwards always to the next time you put on the Shirt. They will share with you your moments of sentimentality. Play them over and over again on their Piano. In time you will come to feal them....and Never again will you feal alone."

Hello love!! First of all, thank you sooo much for your kind words!! 🤍✨ I always try my best to make fic-Eddie as Eddie-like as possible (if that makes sense) so I'm beyond happy to know that you liked it!
I also loved your request, so I thought I could try to write some headcanons about it - it's my first time with this kind of genre, so I hope you like them as much as I had fun writing them!
Here's my version of headcanons about Eddie being with a band musician S/O 🌹

You and Eddie have been together for a while now, and you’re quite different people - which is one of the things that make your relationship so special, actually! You both love learning new things and hearing everything about each other’s passions, especially since one of them is music.
We all know what Eddie’s taste in music is like by now, and after a while you’ve come to appreciate it as well - mostly because he’s so vocal and passionate about his favorite bands and songs and he loves sharing them with you, and his enthusiasm is truly contagious. Plus, you’re the first (and best) Corroded Coffin groupie, and he loves you for that!
You, on the other side, belong to a different sphere of the music universe: you’re in the high school band and yes, you might not know your way around electric guitars, but you play your own instrument and you’re definitely great at it - “fucking amazing”, Eddie would say, and he makes sure to remind you any time he can! He’s your greatest supporter, really, and here’s why.
He wants to be involved with anything you like just out of his pure love and admiration for you, and this includes asking you to teach him how to play your instrument. It’s rarely a successful undertaking, but he tries so hard! He usually sits on the floor in the middle of your room, his tongue sticking out and his eyes partly covered by his fringe as he focuses on putting his hands and fingers in the right places, following your expert guide and miserably failing to produce any kind of sound in tune - but he looks extremely cute, so it’s okay. 
“Fuck, this shit is hard - I don’t know how you do it, sweetheart”
Also, when he actually manages to crack a few notes, he requests (or better, demands) a reward in kisses. You oblige happily every time, of course.
He often gives you a lift to band practice, taking the instrument case from your hands and opening the passenger door of his van for you, like the gentleman that he is. A lot of times he likes to sneak inside the school without you noticing, just to sit on the floor outside the classroom where you’re practicing to listen to you and occasionally peer inside. You’ve noticed him a few times, and the sight of his wavy hair and doe eyes suddenly appearing through the glass on the door always makes you accidentally skip a note (and your heart skip a beat) but you never tell him. 
When you finish early and find him outside the classroom, he always shrugs it off with one of his signature upside-down smirks. 
“I didn’t know I signed up for a bodyguard” “Jesus Christ, can’t a man escort his sweetheart outside?”
Eddie never moves or postpones his Hellfire Club meetings. No exceptions, ever. He’s just very careful to plan them around your performances and band events, so he can be there every single time - and that’s why he asks you for your band schedule every month, like clockwork.
More about official events: he never misses one, as we said. He’s always there on the bleachers, clapping at you and only you, his eyes following your every move whether you’re in the gym or on one of the sports fields outside. He’s such a hype man, he tortures the other kids who are just there to see the match or parade, or whatever.
“Second row, third from the left. See, Henderson?” “Jesus, Eddie, I have eyes of my own for Christ’s sake-“ “Shut up, it’s starting. And make sure to clap”
You always see him there, but you don’t how many times he risked being late. Not because he didn’t care or forgot: quite the contrary. He wants to look his best for you, so he always loses so much time getting ready - metal band t-shirts literally flying through his room as he looks for just the perfect one, eyes narrowed in concentration as he readjusts his hair in front of the mirror, stumbling over his feet as he rushes outside, almost bumping into his stupefied uncle on the way out.
“Shit shit fuck I’m going to miss the beginning - come on, sucker, turn the fuck on” *slams fist on the steering wheel*
Also, he loves your band outfit. Not the slightly cringe-y green uniform per se, but the fact that he gets to peel it off of you once you’re back to his trailer. After all, your body is your favorite musical instrument to play, and he’s terribly good at it.
Bonus headcanon:
I believe this applies easily to any passion or hobby you have! He loves anything creative (have you seen the Hellfire Club set up???) so he always would hype you up and support you - whether it’s about the school newspaper, drama club, painting or anything else you love to do! He’d love to participate, if you’ll have him, even if it’s just to spend some extra time with you… he’s such an angel 🤍

Commissioning Music
So what does it mean to commission music, as opposed to making it? It helps to think of me as a Patron of the Arts--thus, The Gay Patron.
I've hated how little fun LGBT-centric music exists in the genres I enjoy most; those genres can be summarized as, "anything you might hear at a Renaissance Fair".
Every song starts with an idea--or, really, two ideas: one for the content of the lyrics, and one for the type of instrumental.
Let's take my upcoming release, Who we Are and Who We Love, for example. I hired a lyricist, Travis Myles, who I found in an LGBT Professionals group on social media. He had written religious content in the past, which was appealing because I wanted the song to make references to Christian hostility.
I provided a short creative brief, "I'm looking for an LGBT march to war against Christianity. Something uplifting, as a rallying cry. Not in the march genre, but a march to war such as in these sample songs. I don't want Christianity named overtly; show, don't tell. And include as much of the rainbow as you can, with the same show, don't tell, style."
We went through a few rounds of revision. Some were structural, "the tone focuses too much on us being victims; we're too passive in our story. Turn it around: make these slights against us become our weapons. Have us do so actively. Rally us."
Others were much smaller, like, "I like the concept you have here, but that word makes it very America-centric. Here are some ideas for making it more universal."
When it was finished, I had lyrics that met my specifications, but still showcased the writer's personal style. That was important to me; even though I'm commissioning this music, I'm not looking for something that's perfect as I'd write it, otherwise, why wouldn't I just learn to write it myself? It's as much about our community as it is about my tastes.
Next, I went to the musician. I exclusively hire Ruben Monteiro, via Fiverr. Why? He specializes in hurdy gurdy, and has a wide range of specialty instruments that he plays at a high level of skill. I can get bagpipes, an oud, even a riqq through him. And every single time, he tries to understand my goal--and he nails it very quickly!
I provide a short brief to him. For this upcoming song, it was to the effect of, "I'm looking for a march to war similar to these samples. I specifically want it to be uplifting, not at all somber. Hurdy gurdy as the lead, and I really want to include the riqq again, but I'm open to your recommendation about the other instruments."
He starts with a digital composition and a warning that the real version will sound better. 🤣 This time, though, he realized the lyrics were a bit long: 6.5 minutes vs the usual 4, and he felt it didn't showcase the powerful chorus enough. He recommended cutting 2 verses.
Those verses had some great lyrics, so I opted to trim it myself. Instead of cutting them, I pulled out the lines that I thought were less powerful, and re-combined the ones that remained in a way that made sense.
This allowed me to remove the equivalent of 2 verses, but keep the meaning. And of course the lyricist was sent the new version! (Side note: I absolutely do not take a writing credit in my commissions. Even after a significant structural change like that.)
Once the chorus repetitions were added, the song remained 6.5 minutes. And after hearing the first draft, I realized it would sound even better with some harmony. I identified where I'd like it, and Ruben hired another singer to fill in those parts.
The final song is absolutely incredible, and I'm really excited to share it soon! The distributor is out of office until tomorrow, then it takes about a week to process on Spotify and other platforms. When it's ready, I hope you enjoy it!

I felt so emotional today……
I'm so glad I got to see this scenery
I knew Yokohama Arena was big、but I was still surprised by just how huge it was。But it meant I could see wayyyyy more of your penlights!!!
So when I first stepped out on stage I was overwhelmed by all of you and your penlights and the size、but I tried to let go of that feeling
I just kept telling myself 「Don't mess up Don't mess up Don't mess up Don't mess up」。
Since we were all wearing ear monitors I knew the other members couldn't hear me〜
But thanks to that I was able to enjoy the rest of my time on stage、which I'm glad about
I mean I was still nervous though〜

I was also able to take part in the MC!
Looking back on this tour we've really done so muchー right〜!
I've learned a lot😊 And had lots of fun〜
So with this tour and our summer tour

The sky in Fukuoka was so beautiful!It was so impressive that everyone was taking photos and videos on the busー I really remember this moment (*^^*)

Ehime's Mikyan-chan was so cute😍
In Miyagi I came to love beef tongue
In Iwate the beautiful paddy fields warmed my heart😊
In Kagoshima we saw a beautiful rainbow before the performance✨ The sky was so huge!And the steamed fish stew bun was delicious!
In Shimane we all talked about marriage!
I had so much funー!!!!

What do you think would be Mettaton and Alphys' reaction to the song "For Good" from Wicked?
I'm going to infer that you're familiar with Wicked because you seem, based on what I've read in your fics, like a music history person.
I may or may not be planning a fic where Alphys and Mettaton get to see Wicked together ... and another where that song in particular shows up in a different capacity.
But, like ... those characters! ... that song! UGH!
Please ... please tell me I'm not completely unhinged. I've just never seen anyone in the UT fandom make that connection ever, but it's so painfully obvious to me.

hi!! thank you so much, I love your work too!! I've been meaning to go back and read it more thoroughly, I've just been too tired lately with job-hunting and interviews.
I'm actually not a huge music history person (though I'd love to learn more about it) but I am familiar with Wicked! never seen the show itself, but I've listened to the soundtrack and am very excited for the movie (partly as an Ariana Grande stan but also because I can finally see it in a financially accessible way!).
fun fact, in early versions of Walls, I was actually planning on Wicked being something that Mettaton was really interested in, and certain songs contributing to how he felt about himself (particularly No Good Deed). I can't remember why I didn't end up incorporating it, but it might be interesting to put it back for the new version.
as for the song For Good--I think if Mettaton and Alphys had been sort of avoiding discussing the ways they've hurt each other (for example, in Walls, neither of them have actually apologized to each other--they just kind of became friends again without talking about anything because neither of them are sure how to do so) I think that song would probably stir up a lot of emotion in both of them. it might hit them just how much their lives have changed because of each other. and in some ways, those changes HAVE been for the better, but in others... it's hard to say. what they do know is that they are permanently changed because they met.
the lyric "And now whatever way our stories end, I know you have rewritten mine by being my friend" REALLY hits me here, because both of their stories were certainly rewritten because of their friendship. Mettaton likely never would have become a star or gotten his dream body without Alphys, and Alphys never would have become the Royal Scientist, conducted the experiments that resulted in the Amalgamates, or likely even met Frisk and gotten more confident in herself. I like that this lyric makes it clear that the "rewriting" isn't necessarily good or bad. for Mettaton, most of it's good, arguably, but for Alphys it's very much a mixed bag. but either way, no matter what happens, whether they stay friends or end up going their separate ways, they will forever be changed because of their friendship.
I've never personally made this connection before but you're right, it IS really obvious when you point it out like this. I'm excited to see what you do with it in your fic! you're a great writer so I'm expecting great things!

Through Breakups and Heartbreaks, TOMORROW X TOGETHER Shares All the Feels in Its New Spotify Enhanced Album

K-Pop fans, Spotify has a treat for you. Today, South Korean boy band TOMORROW X TOGETHER is releasing its fourth mini album, minisode 2: Thursday’s Child, and Spotify listeners have access to an exclusive enhanced version of the album.
This new five-track album follows the story of the boy who fell in love in the band’s previous album series, The Chaos Chapter. In minisode 2: Thursday’s Child that boy experiences a breakup with his first love. Fans will experience three themes (hate, end, mess) as they listen to the group’s tracks, which feature a mix of hardcore rock, hip-hop, and R&B.
The enhanced album, available only on Spotify, includes never-before-seen content. Fans have access to new videos, storylines (which are personal written commentaries from the band on each track), and audio liners, where the band members give insight into the songs. The enhanced album also features videos of the individual members of the group talking about the fun they had and the memories they shared while creating the new music.

What can fans expect in the new album,
minisode 2: Thursday’s Child
?
SOOBIN: Through this new EP, we showcase a side of ourselves that we’ve never shown before. We tried to express how one could be corrupted and changed by his first heartbreak. The lead single “Good Boy Gone Bad” has some fantastic choreography that’s sure to make a lasting impression in your minds, so be sure to check it out!
In what ways does the enhanced album share more about the intent behind your new music for fans and new listeners worldwide?
SOOBIN: I hope our fans, MOA [Moments of Alwaysness], will be able to dive deeper into the EP as they listen to the behind-the-scenes stories and the episodes that we reveal for the first time.
YEONJUN: We all had a great time discussing the album in such depth. In the process, I’ve definitely grown more attached to every song.
BEOMGYU: We had a heart-to-heart talk on each of the tracks from the album, and I hope our MOA will love it too. Also, I really enjoyed thinking back to the emotions I had while working on and recording each song.
TAEHYUN: It’s some great content. We go into detail about how each member tackled the recording process. Listening to how each song came to be definitely makes me appreciate them more.
HUENINGKAI: I have so much love for this EP, especially with all the effort and passion we all put into it. It’s our first unit track, so the producer and YEONJUN and I talked a lot about how we want this track to feel. I hope our intentions are delivered to you successfully.
What messages do you want people to take from your music?
SOOBIN: Through music, we always strive to give voice to what many people feel and experience throughout their lives. We pursue music that many people can empathize with and relate to. We would like to be remembered as artists who are not confined by genre. We want to become artists who linger on in your minds even as time goes by.
What figures have most influenced your music and your artwork?
SOOBIN: I watched a lot of shows that deal with love and heartbreak. I took these works as inspiration to delve into and understand these emotions with more depth.
HUENINGKAI: Since I was a child, I have admired my dad. And I have been inspired by many artists, like Bruno Mars and Christopher, since I was a trainee.
YEONJUN: For this album, I was inspired by Post Malone’s music.
BEOMGYU: I referenced some TV shows as well, but I also think all people go through heartbreak or farewell in one form or another, whatever that may be. While working on this album, I tried to think back and put myself in those shoes.
TAEHYUN: I was inspired by The Weeknd’s albums and by a friend who had recently been through a breakup.
As you look to TOMORROW (the future), what are your goals as a group TOGETHER?
As a group, we still want to meet and enjoy being with MOA from all over the world.
