The Batman gets locked up in walkers prison! 😲
Walker left the zone to arrest him too why? Because clearly he is neglecting the child king! Smh. 😔 Walker greatly respects the rules but now that King Phantom is in place he respects something more. This child has brought order back to the zone (not really he kinda just wrote off some rules for Walker to enforce to get him out of his hair) and even after Walker imprisoned him too! So now hes back to his old ways of bending the rules to fit his whims. But this weird Bat Man person is deserving of a harsh punishment, that or a good thrashin’, for how hes done gone and treated their new King! Can’t the man tell the boy has a familial bond with ‘em? For cryin out loud the youngin already gave em core charm! No all the others can clearly see plain as day that hes apart of the boys family. (Danny made Batman an ice ward that helps protect from other ghosts… or so he thought oops it’s telling all the other ghosts that hes Danny fam)
Yet despite all this the man still is refusing to bring the kid into his fold. You don’t just go on and do that to a young one. Their King is only a baby and now this man has gone and ignored him like hes plans to go out to get some milk and never come back. Can’t he see how this is affecting his development? Walker wont have anyone doin that to his ghost King No Sir. Hes gonna education this man himself if he has to. Rehabilitation is something he can do. It’s within his jurisdiction after all.

and sparrow's son loves the world so much and loves everyone around him and how can sparrow tell him that the world is cruel? how can he tell him that love will be punished and that cruelty is the only way to survive? normal's love scares him, he loves his son so much but that love scares him. he would do and has done anything for his son but he knows that it has led to his own ruin. and he loves his son but too much love has only ever harmed him and maybe he can take a model from his own dad and multitask.
maybe he can love his son but he hates him too, hates that normal can love and hates that normal can be loved and hates that normal can be so oblivious to the cruelty around him in a way that he himself lost when the world ended. he wants his son to have everything but loathes that fact that normal'll never try. that he just accepts life as it is. the way his dad did, when sparrow saluted henry and went along with the world's end and turned a blind eye to his wife's infidelity.
he sees himself in normal, maybe. maybe he hates that. because he lost himself, that day he lost his father's care and his mother's respect, and he can't bear to see himself lost again. normal needs to be cruel because otherwise he will be crushed and sparrow can't do that again. can't let himself be crushed again.

I don’t want to come off as negative because I value your fic but the extremely long chapters are hard to follow. Have you ever thought about separating them or maybe having someone you trust edit superfluous stuff out?
This is wildly rude and entitled 😁
I use editors (shout out to my beta @shinyfire-0 especially) but just because you personally can't handle anything beyond a short chapter doesn't mean that a long one is superfluous.... 🤡🤡

Hrmm... Revising my game and I feel like there's still sooo much writing left to do, for something that probably won't even amount to much, so.. I do want to narrow my focus more (especially given my health problems seeming to get worse/less energy the past few years), but I'm not sure how would be best to...
I currently have 5 characters as the Main ones with full planned questlines and such, with each character having 6 quests you can do for them. But I haven't really started the writing for the 5th main character.
So then I was thinking, if I were going to write 6 full quests worth of content anyway... is it better to allocate that time on just doing a Complete 6 Quests for ONE single character, OR would it be better to do something like.. choose THREE side characters and do 2 quests for each of them? So that people have a wider variety to interact with and sort of sample around (of course with the idea that, once the first version of the game is released, IF people actually care about it enough to make it worth the effort, I would then add additional content to complete those 3 characters stories as well)
-
SO... If you were playing an interactive fiction sort of game centered around talking to & doing quests for a cast of characters (like there's no larger plot, more it's just about interacting with people, every character kind of has a self contained story, the focus is just learning about them and the world and exploring the area) --- Which would you rather have?
(and of course it would be stated up front which characters have only partial questlines, so people don't expect them to have full quests like the others and then get disappointed, or etc. etc.)
Basically, is it better to just focus in specifically on having one fully complete questline? Or for there to be a few stories that are not complete yet, but have more initial options available?

Subject Ariet AU incoming
What changes from the original story is Leo begins to get suspicious quicker than normal of Ariet. He witnesses more of the other people of the panel going about their daily activities and questions more of them as he sees more and more; and includes witnessing and connecting their borderline cult behavior centered around Ariet in his mind.
continuation under cut
I'd like to think one night Leo ended up sneaking out of his quarters without anyone's knowledge due to his suspicions. He would go into one of the little 'labs' and would snoop around and eventually find the databases of the other subjects, including a file named "Subject 003" that's blank, signaling they haven't created it yet. So he's on edge now, expecting to be double crossed at any point now. Either to be used for this little project of theirs, or anything related to it.
Once the golden moment comes where Ariet coaxes Leo into the room where he originally gets strapped down and injected, he wears a completely fake mask of aloofness in the situation like he knows nothing. Once they enter the room and Ariet goes to grab him, Leo immediately pushes him away and knocks him against the exam table. Two other panel members, acting as guards try going for Leo now. Though before doing so, Leo grabs the nearest object, a needle with the substance that 'turns' people the subjects into who they are.
The thing is, with the guards, they can't have Leo killed, they can't do anything with someone who's dead, so they just stare at him before Leo stabs Ariet in the neck.
The people of the panel see Ariet almost as a god, so they worry about him more than anything and him possibly getting hurt, so that's the point where one tackles him and the other goes immediately to Ariet's aid, but! The deed is done and there's zero reversing it once it's in your system, which is one of the major flaws of this substance, it's permanent and untreatable to get back to your older self.
The guards, both stunned and furious, put Leo into a cell as they have more members of the Panel deal with Ariet. Ariet at this point though is completely unconscious, so they put him in a separate cell for monitoring, one they specifically use for the subjects when they start to turn.
Eventually, as the day goes on, bro is completely gone! As in his human self, of course. He's now the new Subject 003, his plans failing and turning on him completely with the fact that Leo is supposed to be in the position he's in now.
The Panel, is honestly just... very discombobulated after this happens. They have and yet haven't lost their leader. At the same time though, The Panel's job is to house, monitor, and train the subjects in whatever ways they need. So, they're all split, either needing to treat him as a test subject, or their leader.
Some others though have begun to see Leo as a replacement for their leader being turned into a subject, for the bravery and sheer force of will to be able to do such a thing, and to do it successfully.
That's all I got so far folks

Hi, could you do Grovyle from MD? I will accept anything you're willing to give me. I am but a mere orphan child hoping to receive some sustenance of that man
Grovyle has trouble sleeping.
He always has. It’s not going to change just because he can finally hear the roar of the wind or the crash of the waves along the rocks below. This world is so alive but it gives him little relief. It only strengthens his resolve to save it. Makes him feel restless because every second not spent working towards a better future is a second closer to the ruined timeline he knows.
You, on the other hand, seem to have no trouble falling asleep now. You look so peaceful, curled up in a nest of dried grasses, expression soft and chest rising and falling in a gentle rhythm. It’s a stark difference from the restless sleeping form he remembers and not just because you are no longer human.
This new form suits you, Grovyle thinks. You’ve always had a fire burning deep within you. It burned bright in your eyes even when everything else around you was dark and cold and dead. Now that fire burns inside and out, manifesting in the form of powers you didn’t have as a human. It’s good, Grovyle decides. Strength suits you. Though it’s weird that he has to look down to meet your eyes instead of craning his neck up.
He wonders if you would miss anything from your old life if you could remember it. Not the world itself, obviously, because the two of you had resolved to change it, but maybe some of the little things. Would you miss being human? Would you miss your height? Your hair? Your fingers? Your lips? Would you miss your friends? Would you miss Celebi? Would you miss…? …no, it’s better not to follow that train of thought.
Would you miss him? He strikes the thought from the record but he thinks it anyway. Do you miss him like he misses you?
Grovyle thinks you look happy here. Much happier with your new partner than you ever were with him. He’s not jealous, not really. He’s glad you found someone. He’s relieved to know you weren’t alone all this time because even as he’s spent every second working to fulfill your mission, not a moment went by when he wasn’t thinking of you. So, yes, he is deeply grateful to your new partner for being there for you even though it hurts to know how easily he can be replaced.
It hurts to know how forgettable he is. And that’s not fair of him to be upset at you for that. You’re the victim, you lost everything, but did you really have to forget him too?
He takes a sharp inhale of breath and closes his eyes. He keeps them closed even as the deep ache in his chest passes. He listens to the wind and the waves, concentrating on the sounds of the beautiful world he is fighting to protect.
Your gentle breathing is the last thing he remembers before sleep finally claims him.
