Preferably drunk.”      “Don’t you think you’ve been doing that for far too long?”      Loch pursed his lips tight. “Fine, then an hour to forget it’s a problem.”      “It wouldn’t be a problem at all if you just fucking talked about it,” Mist snapped. Loch blinked, and even she was surprised at her own uncharacteristic impatience. She sighed, pressing a weary hand to her forehead for a moment. “Have you even told Ash about your doubts? What you’re looking into? Any of it?”      “...I can’t.”      “Why, Loch? He’d be happy to hear—”      “And then he’d be crushed if I change my mind. I still don’t know, Mist, I don’t... If the feeling passes, i-if I’m wrong... I can’t do that to him. I can’t...” He bit his lip, holding himself tightly with his free arm. “I can’t lose him again.”      “You won’t, if you’re just honest with him—”      “You don’t know that. Giving him hope just to take it away... That’s worse than believing there’s no chance at all.”      “And you don’t know that, either. Honestly, Loch, I think you’re overthinking this whole thing. It’s been months, and it hasn’t ‘passed’ yet. Just accept this is what you want and get on with it.”      Loch frowned. “When did you get so bossy?”      Mist sighed again, biting distractedly at her fingernail. “Sorry, I’m just... What’s wrong?”      “It’s nothing, Loch,” she replied, a little sharper than intended, and continued in a softer tone. “Don’t get too drunk, okay? Ash might know, but not everyone does.
