Hey heard you like vampires what are your thoughts on Twilight

it gets an unprecedented amount of hate mostly for being a show with an audience of young women and girls (so therefore people think oh girls like this so ew). its also undeniable that twilight very much shows the progression of how vampires are depicted in media and is an important facet in the history of vampire mythology especially in books/movies. it being a romance movie with cliche and maybe cringe scenes doesn't take away people's right to enjoy it and by extent its version of vampires (id argue that twilight vampires are just a spiritual successor to vampires like lestate or 'romantic vamps' in general)

with that being said, it is the straightest and most mormon vampire depiction which therefore makes it less enjoyable for me! vampires, historically, existed to represent minorities and people who were considered outcasts to 'normal' society and were first and foremost used as caricatures for racist, lgbtq-phobic and sexist stereotypes, so i feel like their reclamation by queers, poc and minorities in general is the only good way to depict them. bram stoker's dracula represented the english man's fear of jewish immigrants (and immigrants in general, the visual description of dracula in that book plays into popular caricatures of jews during those times), eastern europeans, and queer people (dracula and jonathan yada yada as well as the wives of dracula initiating a saucy moment with jonathan which was a man' job because the man was the pursuer and the woman was pursued, but the roles were reversed. also, i don't think i need to tell you how fangs, blood and the extension of dracula through his wives were used as a gay metaphor). and carmilla by sheridan le fanu, depicting the imagery of a predatory lesbian hunting for innocent upper-class women. during these times vampires were not yet characters with complex personalities and values, but folklore monsters in a way, a way to show an enemy and defeat it rather than learn to understand them, which was a product of its time.

fast forward to the vampire chronicles and especially interview with the vampire by anne rice, vampires became complex people, who's oddities were considered alluring, beautiful, queer and unabashedly proud of it. descriptions of androgynous men, womens love of each other, several nods to gay culture throughout the books with the characters themselves having more to them than just being monsters (with that being said there are several critiques of an interview with the vampire, esp the original book, it is by no means the creme de la creme of queer rep in vampire literature!)

so, circling back, twilight vampires were in themselves like that, kind of. edward wasn't exactly the most macho man as was popular to faun over in media, he was, kind of, more androgenous and sensitive and a character with complex values and thoughts - but that doesn't take away from the fact that the book is lacking a lot of soul and seemingly doesn't show the true reasons why vampires became so popular (amongst young queers especially who found themselves relating to this sense of otherness because of who they were. it is a very sanitized version of a vampire romance, which doesn't mean its bad or that people shouldn't like it! but i'm just saying.

I do most of my training real time, but I have used my experience in sissy training to create an online monitored program to develop the woman inside of you

Be aware that this program is not merely "fun and games." This program will feminize you irrevocably.

Resexualization: No longer able to gain sexual satisfaction through your caged "clit", you will begin to stretch and sensitize your "love canal" with a set of plugs which will increase in size. Masturbation will henceforth be with vibrators and through penetration.

Hormone Therapy: We will begin with natural estrogens and you will be given instructions on how you will begin prescription estrogens and anti-androgens. Through this process, your body hair will diminish, your fat distribution and shape will change, and your genitals will shrink.

As far as I know there's no information yet on what this functionally changes (like if there's any change in sensation), if anything at all, but its cool & euphoric to know that there's a good chance you have your own prostatic tissue!

I have shipped ineffable bureaucracy since day one, yet how is it that I never considered the canon concept of them.

Like as a fandom, I thought we came to a conclusion that they would be the ultimate enemies-to-lovers, hate sex before emotions, much angst ship. But no...

They turned out to be the softest, most in-love couple ever. Like the scene where they find each other again, they couldn't give two fucks about everyone else, they were just so enamoured with each other. Beelzebub is the definition of "yes he's an idiot, but he's my idiot and I would die for him"

I know we all want ineffable husbands, but like... For the time being,

I desperately want what Beelzebub and Gabriel have. I want an attractive androgenous vaguely human partner who looks at like the way Beelzebub looks at Gabriel. I want a non binary, duke of hell to give me a little fly to put all my memories in when I decide to run away to be with them.

Am I (F18) the asshole after my brother (M25) asked me to please shave my facial hair for his wedding and I refuse?

Ok, I know this sounds bad. But see, I have something known as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom, (PCOS), and I have what is considered by my doctor a very rare version of it, such that I have 7x more the amount of testosterone I am meant to, so much more androgens, and i have had morning sickness since I was a baby.

This meant that by the time I was 11 I was growing facial hair. I attempted to wax it, as the many other women in my family do- but as it turns out I have an allergy to the wax, and I get hives to it. I tried every single other brand I could and eventually just gave up on that. I tried shaving, but it hurt my eczema, and my entire face would puff up like I was the marshmallow mascot to some brand, and I would turn cherry red for a month or more each time. It would hurt and I would itch it to blood and scarring regularly.

Eventually, i just settles for cutting the hair off with scissors every other day to every day, as my hair grows back to noticeable by the third day. However, over Covid, I came to love the hair.

It squares out my jaw, it keeps my face warm, I like how it looks! I like how it feels! I can stroke my beard like a wizard! I love how I look now, and I fought through the rest of high school and being called slurs and I would get dragged around in the hallways and tripped, and once I got hit by a car well they called me slurs. The school tried to ban me from the womens bathroom and the mens bathroom.

But I still keep it, because I like how I look. Without it, I look bald now, I look sad. I hate it when it’s gone.

I feel like I deserve to be allowed to keep my facial hair.

Am I the asshole? If it’s declared I am, I’ll use the scissors, but I really don’t want to.

Week 7: “Can’t you see how much I love you”/love confessions & makeovers/dressing up

The annual Valentine's Day costume ball is coming up at the Abbey, and Aurora can't wait to attend in matching costumes with Mist. One small issue: she has to ask her first.

At the Abbey, the annual Valentine’s Day costume ball was coming up. Because what said “Satan-worshipping-church” like a debauched disco on a Saint’s memorial day? At these parties, the ghouls and humans intermingled freely, and nights often ended in more than just intermingling. For the ghouls, it was also a night of freedom from their masks, all the more appreciated by the newer ghouls with their oppressive helmets.

Aurora couldn’t wait. This was her first Valentine’s costume ball topside, and if it was anything like the other parties she had been to topside, it would be a blast. From the minute it was announced, she had been thinking of what her costume should be. Halloween had been incredible, everyone dressed some kind of spooky or sexy, or both. Aurora had matched costumes with the other touring ghoulettes Cirrus and Cumulus, going as The Plastics from Mean Girls.

Aurora wasn’t sure if she wanted to continue her chick-flick move theme for this party. She wasn’t even sure what she wanted to go as. What she did know, is that she wanted to coordinate with her girlfriend, Mist. Was that even the correct word, Aurora wondered to herself? They weren’t mated yet, but they were… something. The humans had more words than they could possibly need for these situations, Aurora could surely borrow some.

There was one slight issue with this plan, however. Mist famously did not attend costume parties at the Abbey. Aurora figured her best chance at going with Mist was to come up with a costume concept the older ghoulette couldn’t resist.

This was going to be a challenge: Aurora’s aesthetic and media preferences didn’t exactly align with Mist’s. While she would happily go as anything pink, princess-y, or otherwise hyperfeminine with a 2000s movie influence, Mist was quite the opposite. She was more into dark colours, androgenous styles and fantasy novels. Aurora was sure there had to be some crossover to explore though.

Putting aside her initial dream of matching Barbie: The Princess and the Pauper costumes, she tried to think closer to what Mist would choose. Certainly nothing involving a dress or a skirt, she knew the thought of wearing them made Mist’s skin crawl. What about a knight? Heroic, Big Sword, rescue the Princess from a big tower? Aurora wasn’t the sort of Princess that would need rescuing though.

“What about dragons?” she mused aloud to Sunshine one evening, watching the multi ghoulette crouched on the floor sewing sequins onto a pair of intricate butterfly wings.

“I think Swiss and Phantom are doing dragons…” Sunshine hummed, almost cross-eyed with concentration, “something about dragon and dragon rider.”

Aurora rolled her eyes and mimed gagging, as Sunshine looked up from her work to snicker at her reaction.

“Yeah, you might want to steer clear of them all night. Swiss gets a bit carried away on Valentine’s.”

Aurora flopped backwards onto Sunshine’s bed with a huff, “What are you going as? Maybe I can convince Mist to do a ghoulette group costume?”

Sunshine proudly held her wings aloft, “I’m a butterfly, and Mountain’s going as a caterpillar! He’s still got about fifty pom-pom feet to sew to his outfit before the party.”

“They look amazing Sunny!” Aurora looked on with envy. At this rate she was going to end up going as a lonely cat without a date.

“Why don’t you just ask Mist to go to the party with you, Rory? She might have an idea for your costumes.”

“Maybe…” Aurora rolled onto her front to face Sunshine properly, “How should I ask her?”

Sunshine sighed, setting her wings to the side and moving to sit next to Aurora. In times like these she really felt like a big sister to the newest ghoulette.

“The same way you asked her to be your girlfriend, petal. But maybe with less references to movies she hasn’t seen.” Sunshine tossed an arm around Aurora’s shoulders as best she could in their awkward position on the edge of the bed, “Besides, there’s no way she’d say no, Mist is so head over heels for you that Satan Himself could see it from the pit!”

Aurora hoped she was right.

Later that day, Aurora steeled herself to ask Mist to go to the Valentine’s ball together. She found Mist where she often was when she didn’t have duties, sat reading on the stone bench next to a small, secluded pond. Mist looked up when she heard footsteps approaching, and seeing her wide smile as Aurora approached made her heart stutter in her chest.

“Hi Moonflower, I thought I’d find you here.” Aurora sat down next to Mist, the pair instinctually shuffling as close together as possible, pressed to each other like magnets; shoulder to hip to ankle.

“Hello Sweet Thing, come to keep me company?” Mist set her book down to snake an arm around Aurora’s waist and press a kiss to the corner of her lips, seeking permission to deepen the kiss. Aurora giggles against her lips, happily losing herself in Mist’s embrace.

When they eventually broke apart for air, Aurora remembered why she had some come find Mist in the first place.

“So…” she started, trying her best to sound casual, “are you going to the Valentine’s ball?”

“Why do you ask?” smirked Mist, “are you inviting me?”

Aurora forgot what she was going to say, not expecting Mist to see straight through to what she was asking so quickly. She was flustered, stuttering out some sounds that could possibly have been interpreted as a “yes”. No one else could manage that quite like Mist.

“So, what are you going as then?” asked Mist, reaching out to play with a piece of hair behind Aurora’s ear.

“I’m not sure yet, I was hoping you might have an idea actually. I want us to go as something we both like.”

“I’ll be happy in anything, as long as you’re there.” Mist cooed in her ear, “I’d turn up with nothing but my unglamoured fins, if that was what you wanted.” Her cool and delicate fingers traced over Aurora’s neck, where gills would be if she had any, and Aurora gave in to the carnal distraction of Mist’s smooth tongue and fingertips. The costume party didn’t seem so important anymore.

Stuck polishing the wooden pews in the chapel the next day, Aurora thought more on Mist’s comment. Unglamoured fins. Creatures of the Sea. She started formulating a story in her head. She could still be a princess, but how about a mermaid princess, with the alluring voice of a siren. Mist often called her my sweet siren after all. Mist could be a beautiful pirate queen trying to pillage the mermaid’s lands, but ending up beguiled by her song convinced to go adventuring upon the high seas together.

Mist would hopefully like the costume too, a blouse loose enough around her gills, not an overly “girly” costume, but still badass. Rory lost herself in her daydream, fleshing out her perfect Halloween costume idea and backstory, until she realised that she has been polishing the same armrest for ten minutes.

This idea seemed perfect for them; dressing for a story no one but them knew. They’d tried to keep their relationship a secret for so long, even though they later learned that they hadn’t been in the least bit subtle, and their respective packs had seen through them near instantly.

She dropped by Mist’s pack dorm on the way back to her own quarters, to suggest her idea. If she’d been surprised by Mist’s enthusiasm to accompany her to the ball, she was even more astounded by her interest in the costume. Mist had all but begged to make her own, and to keep them a surprise from each other until the night of the party.

For the rest of the week leading up to the party, she spent her spare evenings in Sunshine’s room, joining her on the floor to sew sequins onto her own costume. Sunshine was predictably now making Mountain’s costume for him, attaching fist-sized pom-poms to a green zip-up hoodie. She had asked Cirrus and Cumulus if they wanted to join their crafting sessions, but they had claimed their own costumes, the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch, were already finished.

Little did Aurora know, that Mist had already enlisted the air ghoulettes to help her with her own costume, showing her how to stitch frills and ruffles to the cuffs of a blouse, and embellish the rest of her outfit in a way befitting of a pirate queen.

The evening of the Valentine’s day ball finally arrived, and Aurora was buzzing with anticipation as she waited for Mist to knock on the dormitory door. She had insisted on coming by before the party to collect Aurora. Eventually, there were three sharp raps on the door, and Aurora had to force herself to count to ten before she threw it open.

"Ahoy! I be here t’ collect me Princess!” Mist grinned widely, flourishing a plastic cutlass bedazzled with crystals. Aurora looked at her outfit in wonder; Mist looked ferociously beautiful. The delicate linen fabric of her blouse rippled in the breeze from the hallway, showing off the numerous gold swirls stitched along the frilly cuffs. The cut of her tight leather pants was enough to make Aurora’s mouth water, her long legs emphasized by the tall boots she was wearing, also decorated with rhinestones and gold. But nothing quite compared to the costume jewellery she was practically dripping in; body chains, hooped earrings, hammered metal arm cuffs. She looked every inch the terrifying pirate queen she was meant to be.

“Mist…” Aurora whispered, in awe, “you look incredible!” Mist broke character to blush at the praise, full of compliments of her own for Aurora’s sparkling bodice and mermaid “tail”.

Their tender moment in the doorway was interrupted by the boisterous entrance of a sparsely-clothed dragon and his equally underdressed rider, off to join the other ghouls that were pre-gaming in the kitchen.

“Woah Mist, you look awesome!” hollered Swiss, clearly already in the party spirit. Mist straightened her spine, and glared mock-haughtily at the multi-ghoul,

“'Tis yer Royal ‘ighness Cap'n Mist t' ye, ye rum-soaked scalawag!” she leered at him with a dangerous grin. Swiss looked like he was torn between being terrified and turned on, but was saved from having to justify either reaction by Phantom dragging him away to the kitchen. When the door closed behind them, leaving both ghoulettes alone in the entrance hall of the dorm again, they collapsed into each other’s arms in peals of laughter.

“His face Mist! You’ve given the poor guy a pirate crisis!” Aurora managed to catch her breath just enough to talk between fits of giggles.

“It’s not him I feel sorry for, think about Phantom!” they both promptly dissolved into laughter again. “Poor Bug…” mused Aurora, as she dragged Mist by the hand to her room, before they had to leave for the party proper in the Abbey’s main hall.

“You really do look amazing, Waterlily.” Aurora smiled at her as her bedroom door swung closed behind them.

“So do you, my Songbird, you’re always the most beautiful thing in every room, but tonight you look exquisite.”

Aurora pulled her onto the bed and into a kiss. They had time for a brief distraction while the other ghouls drained their liquor supplies.

“I can’t believe you went to all this effort!” pulling away, Aurora ran her hand down Mist’s arm to admire the little details of her outfit. “I didn’t even think you would want to go at all!”

“Can you still not see it?” asked Mist, raising Aurora’s chin with the tip of one long finger, “This is for you. Everything is always for you. I’d do anything just for one more smile from your beautiful lips.” She brushed across them, soft and gently parted, with her thumb. “Can’t you see how much I love you?”

you fuckin idiot, there are more hermaphroditic members of snails, coral reefs, bugs, and even lions from the savannah, can trans their gender.

Lions cannot "trans their gender" because lions do not have the human concept of gender nor transition.

I know exactly what you're referring to and it's the FEMALE lions that have grown manes despite being female. This is explicitly a FEMALE lion with a hormonal imbalance, likely naturally increased testosterone, that has caused the abnormal growth of a mane.

"Molecular testing aimed at examining chromosomes – the genetic material which determines sex – has revealed that Mmamoriri is genetically a female, despite her masculine features."

(Mmamoriri hunting with her pride, using her extra strength to secure kills.)

Whatever reasons there are behind these lionesses growing manes and having larger builds, whether it's a genetic cause, an exposure to androgens in utero, etc, it doesn't make them anything other than female. They are not "nonbinary" or "transmasc" lions. They are female lions who have grown manes and occasionally have bigger builds. It's similar to women who are naturally bigger or naturally have more body/facial hair (or even women who have PCOS). Having these variations does not change that they are female. If anything, the closest approximation these lionesses have to something in our culture would be butch lesbians (Mmamoriri and others like her have been seen humping other female lionesses). Not a direct 1:1, but if you want to compare these lionesses to something it would be butch or gnc women.

Once again you guys show how fucking regressive and sexist you are by claiming that a masculine female lion is somehow a "trans" lion. Seeing a stronger bigger female and saying that she has "trans vibes" bc she isnt "womanly" enough is conservative level sexism. Both of you love gender roles and gender presentation and can't function without it. You just differ in what boxes you try to shove gnc people in.

I won't touch on the stupidity of you bringing up snails, coral fucking reefs (seriously), and bugs because they aren't fucking mammals. And other people have already talked about such comparisons (clown fish, etc) at length in other posts. When I find them I will edit and link back.

Hi, what would be your advice for someone with PCOS but wanting to go on low T?

I've been wrestling with my gender for years but after being exposed to butch art you post, I think the label suits me the most.

Well! my advice as to Aquiring T is very region specific, im in Australia and the process is completely different elsewhere.

I had PCOS before I started T, but I'm on a full dose. PCOS doesnt intervene on your ability to use T endocronologically; in fact it pairs quite well with T, seeing as our bodies already create additional androgens. My biggest advice is to not be too worried; if you're starting and maintaining a low dose, its going to take a while for any significant changes to happen usually. With topical T you can immediately stop at any time and your T will reduce very rapidly. The first thing that happens is usually changes in your clitoris; you'll start getting bigger, you'll be hard often which might be a bit sensitive.

If you want to retain the ability to use your front hole, I suggest regularly penetrating yourself. If it begins to feel smaller/drier, inquire about topical estrogen you can apply directly to the area. it likely won't disrupt your T levels but will help avoid vaginal atrophy. (Vaginal atrophy generally doesnt cause health problems, just makes penetration very difficult and uncomfortable).

PCOS can be helpful in predicting how you're gonna feel about changes. How do you feel about the body & facial hair you already have? How do you feel about your genitalia, your weight distribution, your BO? I was always pretty pleased I had PCOS, it felt like a bit of a blessing, even when doctors and the women around me were trying to downplay the things it gave me (mustache, broad shoulders, ect.) Even then I feared going on T would be a huge mistake, but low and behold I fucking love it.

Anyone around here know some resources for writing intersex characters? I've got this one OC who's intersex, more specifically he has Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome and even more specifically either MAIS or PAIS, I am not sure what he would count as. Some of the intersex tumblrs on here have been really useful, but some of those are about CAIS and I'm not sure how much of that is applicable to MAIS or PAIS. Wikipedia has also been somewhat helpful but it's just way too clinical and basically just a list of symptoms and treatments and other stuff. I feel like I've done most of the basic steps I've read you should do (decide on a specific condition, give him a proper personality etc). I just want to avoid accidentally writing something grossly inaccurate, offensive or fetishizing the guy. He's cool and plays the violin and fights monsters with his buddy and banters with the local magical girl squad and can be an annoying little shit at times but stands with his friends when it really counts and he spends a lot of time out of the house because his parents fight a lot and he does archery sometimes and I love him a lot and want to do him properly.

Includes: Azul, Jamil, Jade (established relationship w/ all) +Bonus Floyd and Najima (platonic)

Azul

Azul maybe confused at first and may need you to explain a little bit but he's very supportive!

He compares it to some sea animals that have hermaphroditic features

Azul is willing to try and find some temporary fixes to dysphoria like potions or something

He comes up with the most cheesy pet names for you, stuff like "My wonderful, gorgeous, darling, girlfriend" and "My beautiful girlfriend" etc.

Will PERSONALLY beat up transphobes. It doesn't matter if he's horrible at physical activity, HE WANTS TO THROW HANDS.

Will cover expenses for HRT along with estrogen and anti-androgens

Azul will stop working just to comfort you if your feeling dysphoric at any point

He'll accompany you to pride parades, protests, and any LGBT+ events you wish to go to

During pride month he puts out a limited time menu that has 'lgbt+ themed' drinks and dishes (maybe some merch if he has a little extra money)

Azul helps make your social transition as easy as he can make it, for example: He has changed your school id to have your chosen name, he kinda eases his employes and other people into using your chosen name and pronouns, along with other small but meaningful changes

He paints your nails 'feminine' colors every few weeks just as a hobby because he thinks it's fun

"My darling, your so gorgeous... I'm so lucky to have you."

Jamil

Jamil is fully supportive, and he's very proud that you came out to him

Jamil if he knows that your comfortable with sharing your transition, may mention it to Kalim.

Kalim being Kalim will cover all expenses related to your transition simply for the reason he wants to help you out and he genuinely thinks you deserve a stress-free transition

Jamil is willing to basically do anything to help your dysphoria, no but literally he will do like ANYTHING

He usually walks with you to go get your estrogen or anything you need to pick up relating to your transition (he just wants to make sure nobody is bothering you for needing your stuff)

Has a burning hatred for transphobes but he can't really do anything physically because as his status as a servant but he won't shy away from being extremely passive aggressive

If you decide to grow your hair out, he likes brushing through it and styling it

If you want to go to any LGBT+ events he'll go with you, if your lucky he might buy you some stuff

Jamil is excellent on helping you with your social transition, though he may slip up like twice

Jamil is excellent at doing makeup, if you ask him to do your makeup he'll gratefully comply

Jade

Jade, like Azul needs a bit of explaining what it means but he has a better understanding of what being trans fem is

Very supportive, he actually asks Azul for a little extra on that weeks pay check so he can take you on a shopping spree

Jade definitely helps with the costs and Azul and Floyd Probably Pitch in so you barely have to pay for any treatments regarding your transition

If you feel dysphoric Jade will do one of three things: 1) Wrap you in a fluffy blanket, 2) He rants to you about his mushrooms to get your mind off your dysphoria, 3) Verbal praise about how absolutely beautiful you are

Jade is usually the one going out to get supplies for you ("just because" is his reason)

If Jade encounters a transphobe that has the gull to bother you he will but his classic customer service smile on then he'll give them a 'modest' beating

has you try on jewelry, or go out to pick flowers with him every other week

If you want to go to a pride parade Jade buys a shirt that just says in comic sans "I love my girlfriend" and he wears it to EVERY parade

any other LGBT+ events he is willing to go with you

he's great at aiding your social transition, He's surprisingly good at making people slip up less on your name and pronouns

if your into fashion, he'll buy you women's fashion magazine's and then he'll just leave them on your bedside table

Bonus! :

Floyd

Floyd is fully supportive of your transition!

Floyd tastes you about dating Jade saying stuff like; "Why would you date Jade? All he talks about are his nasty mushrooms."

He will beat someone up in your honor, no questions asked

Floyd paints your nails every other week IT'S NON-NEGOTIABLE (if you don't want to he won't force you but he really enjoys it)

If he finds out somebody was being transphobic to you he will squeeze them like literally the second after he learns who

Overall nothing really changes from his normal behavior

"Heyyy shimpy! Tell Jade it's unfair HE gets such a cool girlfriend."

Najima

Najima (platonically) LOVES you

She quite literally just drags you away from Jamil so you two can hang out

Every time you visit her, she insists that you two have a girl night: face masks, painting nails, gossip, eating snacks, karaoke, the whole package

She's loves teasing Jamil about how he "Finally got somebody to deal with [his] horrible attitude"

Najima will bitch slap somebody if they are transphobic towards you

If your visiting her and you need your estrogen, she'll go with you to get it

if you want any advice, she your girl!

"Finally another girl! Hope Jamil doesn't mind if I steal you for a while!"

hermaphroditic - a sexually reproducing organism that produces both male and female gametes(- ability to have both female and male reproductive systems)

Extra note: I added Floyd and Najima in the POV that your dating their sibling thats why they are not written as romantic :DD
