Your heart soared with pride as Steve walked off the football field towards you, wearing a goofy-looking gown and graduation cap. As soon as he reached you, he lifted you up and gave you a tiny spin, smiling ear to ear.
“You’re looking at a college grad,” he said with a smug smile after he put you down. You beamed at him as he lifted his hand and showed off the shiny gold class ring. “I’m never taking this thing off.”
You grinned, tugging at the graduation gown. “What about this thing? You willing to take this off for me?” You smiled wryly and pressed a kiss on his cheek.
A throat cleared behind you both and you turned, looking at the party and Robin standing with various levels of disgust evident on their faces.
Robin wrinkled her nose in disgust. “Keep it in your pants, please. Or, I guess keep it in your large, nylon zippy robe.” She squeezed between you and kissed Steve on the cheek. “I’m so proud of you, Steve.”
Dustin stepped forward next and gave Steve a big hug— he’d hit a growth spurt since you last saw him and was nearly as tall as Steve. Lucas, Will, and Mike all offered their congratulations combined with complaints about how boring the ceremony was after they got through the H last names.
Max crossed her arms as El wheeled her over, trying her best to be nonchalant. “I can’t see you, but I know you look dumb in that stupid hat.” Steve gave a fake laugh, took the hat from his head, and placed it on hers. “Ew, it’s all sweaty, you jerk.” She smiled despite herself and held the hat against her chest.
Steve wrinkled his nose in a way that told you he was trying his best not to cry. You knew it meant a lot to him that they’d shown up.
“Why don’t we all go for lunch?” You suggested. “My treat.” Not wanting the reunion to end, and not wanting to turn down a free lunch, everyone piled into their cars and headed to Steve’s favorite place.
When you and Steve got into his car, you were greeted by the shrill sound of his car phone ringing. With a furrowed brow, he reached over and retrieved the bulky device from its bag and answered. Even from across the car, you could hear the tinny noise of his mother speaking on the phone.
“Yeah, the ceremony is over,” he said, jaw ticking. “I sent you both the invitation two months ago.” He looked over with an exasperated look, so you grabbed his hand to give a comforting squeeze. “Well, we’re all going to lunch if you can make it.”
You frowned, but didn’t say anything. Despite their apparent lack of care, you knew that he valued their approval and time.
“Oh. Right, I understand.” He sighed deeply. “Well, I appreciate it. Okay. Okay, bye.”
He hung up and sighed, running a hand through his hair. “They, uh, they got double booked. They’re in Buffalo for a conference right now.”
Your gaze softened at the sight of his disappointed expression. “I know they’re proud of you, Steve.” He nodded, but didn’t look entirely convinced. You pulled the hand intertwined with yours up and placed a soft kiss on his knuckles.
————
When you arrived at your shared condo, you were greeted by a gift-wrapped box on the porch. You had to help him carry it in through the door, huffing as you both dropped it onto your coffee table.
Steve shrugged off the graduation gown he was wearing and kneeled to unwrap the present. A large card taped to the top revealed the senders, as if that were in question.
“To our firstborn son— congratulations! Love, Mr and Mrs Harrington.” The emotionless text almost made you grimace. You’d never read something more blatantly written by a personal assistant in your life.
“Jesus,” he muttered as he tore away the wrapping to reveal the gift. “This thing must’ve cost a fortune.” You glanced over as he held up a plastic case and found nothing that might have revealed its contents.
“What is it?” You asked, kneeling down beside him and leaning in close. He popped open the case and held up a hulking piece of machinery.
“It’s a camcorder,” he said with a grin. “It’s the best one on the market.”
You raised your eyebrows and tried not to ask what he even needed one of those for. Video cameras were for new parents and aspiring filmmakers, not college grads.
Your own gift felt tiny in comparison, even though you’d been saving for a few months to afford it. Between rent for you and Steve’s condo, groceries, and gas for your cars, it wasn’t easy to have expendable cash to buy nice gifts with.
You stayed quiet as Steve marveled at the fancy gift, holding it up to his face like he was testing how it looked through the viewfinder.
“Gorgeous,” he said, peeking out at you. “I think I found my muse.” You scoffed and covered the camera with your hand even though it wasn’t charged.
“Plug it in and we’ll see how it works later,” you said. “For now… I have a gift for you.”
He sat up, wearing a grin. “Is it lingerie? Is it dinner at The Olive Garden? Is it a bubble bath?” He leaned in and nipped at your jaw teasingly. “C’mon, tell me—“
You giggled as he pinned you down on the rug, peppering kisses on your cheeks. “Steveeee,” you groaned. He finally stopped, hovering over you. “You’re such a spoiled brat.” That made him grin even more. He pecked your lips chastely, then sat back on his knees.
You scrambled to stand up and grinned. “Stay there, alright?” He nodded and you disappeared into your shared bedroom.
Hidden away in your bedside table was a glass trinket box you’d thrifted a few months ago. It was shaped like a heart, with little gold foil embellishments. You couldn’t leave without it. You knew the real gift was inside, but you still hoped that Steve would like the box.
Steve was fiddling with the camera when you stepped back into the living room, trying his best to plug it in to charge. When he saw you, though, he smiled and sat down on the couch, waiting for you to join him.
“It isn’t much,” you insisted as you handed it over. “I hope you like it though.”
He smiled and nudged your cheek with his nose. “Are you joking? This is adorable. I love it. I’m gonna keep all my important stuff in here.”
You smiled and shook your head. “Babe, open it.” He looked sheepish as he lifted the lid, then his expression softened. You watched with a fluttering in your chest as he lifted the chain from the box.
It took months to save up for real gold, and then for the pendants after. Two initials— his and yours. “If you don’t like it, I can take it back and get something you actually w—“
He cut you off with a quick kiss that made your head spin. “It’s perfect. Best gift I’ve ever gotten, hands down. And one year I got Yankees tickets behind the plate for my birthday.” He was quick to put it on, smiling over at you. “How do I look?”
You pecked his cheek. “A million bucks, babe.” He leaned in and gave you a real kiss— deep and intense. You smiled against his lips and melted into his touch. You’d never loved someone the way you loved him.
“Wanna know what’s crazy?” He said after he pulled away. You nodded and he gestured towards the bedroom. “I bought you something too. Stay here.”
You sat patiently as he got up and hurried into the bedroom. You heard scuffling and the sounds of moving drawers until he returned, holding a wooden box.
“Your gift is inside this, by the way,” he teased as he sat back beside you. You watched him with anticipation until he flipped it open and your heart stopped.
“So, uh, I got you jewelry too,” he said softly, or maybe your ears were just ringing.
Inside the box, nestled in the middle of a tiny silk pillow, was a diamond ring.
Like, a diamond ring. The kind you get married with.
“That’s—“
He nodded. “Yeah, it is,” he said, grinning ear to ear. “Will you marry me?”
In lieu of a verbal response, you put the ring on and kissed him like he was your one and only source of oxygen. It felt like it anyway— that if you parted from him even a little you’d cease to exist.
“Yes?” He asked, smiling nervously. “That’s a yes?”
You kissed him again. “It’s a yes, Steve. I wanna marry you.”
———
Steve forgot about the video camera in the excitement of the engagement. Because he had to call Robin’s hotel and let her know, and then she spilled the news to the party, and suddenly it felt like everyone from Hawkins was in the tiny condo.
After hours and hours of catching up and celebrating the day, you and Steve were left alone in a quiet house.
“So… the future Mrs. Steve Harrington…” you turned and rolled your eyes at the sight of Steve holding the video camera that had been charging all night. “Anything you want to say to the camera on the night of our engagement?”
“How do you know I’m not keeping my last name?” You asked as he got closer, putting the lens right in your face. You giggled and ducked out of the way as the lens came close to knocking against your nose. “You’re such a child.”
He grinned. “Alright, give me something to remember this night by. For posterity, baby.”
You smiled wickedly at him before lifting the hem of your shirt, flashing your tits at him and the camera. By the time you lowered your shirt back down, his mouth was ajar. “We are never showing anyone this video now.”
You grinned. “Nuh-uh, baby, this is all for you.” You raised your brows in a challenge and stepped into the bedroom, leaving him to hurry behind you with the clunky machine.
He stood in the doorway, camera focused on you as you slipped off your blouse and skirt. The whirring of machinery inside the camera indicated he was zooming in on your tits. You stifled a laugh at the noise as he zoomed out again, taking in all of you.
“Strip for me,” he directed behind the camera. You gave a wry grin as your thumbs slipped behind the waistband of your panties and dragged them down your legs slowly. “Fuck, you’re so sexy. Gonna put on a show for me?”
You settled on the bed on all fours, back arched as you crawled towards the headboard. Steve groaned at the sight, breath shuddering as you flipped around and spread your legs for him. Without needing instructions, you slipped one hand between your legs and let the other move to your chest, kneading your breast between your fingers.
He moved from the doorway— the magnetic pull of you too much to resist for long. He settled at the end of the bed, the camera so close it made butterflies swell in your tummy. He moved the camera to your hands, one between your legs, teasing your clit and dipping into the pool of arousal at your center, and the other toying with your nipples, the shiny diamond on the engagement ring glinting with each small movement.
“Christ, baby hold the camera—“ he said suddenly, passing it over to you. You laughed as he practically threw it into your hands and you had to scramble to turn it right side up.
You laughed as he tore off his clothes, probably popping some buttons here and there. “Steve, what are you— oh!”
Without hesitation, Steve buried his head between your thighs, moaning at the taste of your juices as he lapped at your pussy. It was a struggle to film him and enjoy the moment, especially since you had to watch him through the viewfinder. But something about capturing something so intimate on film made a thrill run through you.
“Fuck, Steve—“ you moaned, being more vocal than you normally would for the camera. Fuck the neighbors, honestly. It was your engagement night! “Your mouth feels so good, honey.”
His brown eyes peered up at you, at the camera, framed by pretty long lashes. His lips formed a seal around your clit and he sucked lightly, making your legs tremble. Your free hand moved to his hair, tangling in the soft locks as his mouth elicited gasps and moans.
A slick sheen had formed on the tip of his nose, his mouth, and chin from his ministrations. The sight made heat bloom in the pit of your stomach. His eyes fluttered closed as he lost himself in you— relishing in your sounds, your smell, your taste.
A light pat on your thigh was his wordless signal for you to move and accommodate him more. You acquiesced, spreading your legs as much as you were comfortably able to, and he let his fingertips tease at your center.
“Relax for me, baby,” he said, his words vibrating against your clit. He gave the bundle of nerves a light kiss before he looked up at you. “I’ve got you. Just…” He pushed his middle finger into you and you moaned low in your throat, instinctively pushing back against the intrusion. “That’s it. Just like that.”
He was always so gentle with you during foreplay— taking his time to really explore every single spot that he knew made you tick. You shuddered as the pad of his finger pressed against a particularly sensitive spot within you. He knew you like the back of his hand— probably better. He slid a second finger beside the first, coaxing moans and gasps from you as he gave all his attention to your clit and g-spot.
Your thighs trembled as you fought the instinct to close them around his head, the stimulation bordering on too much. The softness of his mouth on you, the press of his fingers against the most sensitive spot inside— making you cum was simply too easy for him. You barely had time to gasp out a breathy “I’m cumming—“ before your orgasm hit you. Your walls gripped his fingers like a vise as he worked you through it, muttering praise against your cunt before he withdrew his fingers completely.
You stared at the ceiling, trying to find your breath. “C’mere. It's your turn,” you said with a grin.
Steve simply shook his head. “Not done.” He moved his mouth back to your cunt, this time without the hungry ferocity. You sighed at the sensation, your legs twitching when the tip of his tongue brushed against your clit. His movements lost purpose with each pass of his tongue until he was practically making out with your pussy.
Your head fell back against the pillows, soft gasps slipping past your lips. Steve moaned against you as you tugged his hair, a furrow forming between his brows. So utterly lost in you that he hadn’t even noticed that he was rutting against the bed for friction.
“C’mere,” you said softly. He pressed a final, wet kiss to your pussy before resting his head on the plush of your thigh. Your stomach flipped as he licked his lips, chasing those last remnants of your taste. He pressed a soft kiss to your belly before crawling up to meet you.
The kiss you shared was hungry and slow. The camera was shoved to the side so you could put your mouth on his— tongues meeting, the tang of your arousal and his spit flooding your senses.
A low moan escaped his lips as your hand snaked between your two bodies, where you took his length into your hand and stroked slowly. His mouth fell open, a small furrow between his brows.
“Fuck, baby,” he groaned. You smiled up at him innocently and let your thumb glide across his tip. A full-body shiver overtook him, and you couldn’t help but giggle at the sight. Steve was easy to love all the time, but especially when he was needy. “Switch spots with me.” When you furrowed your brows he nodded towards the camera. “Please?”
When he sat back on his heels, you moved from beneath him and let him settle with his back against the pillows. You were slightly annoyed that he had control of the camera, because goddamn. His thighs were bowed out slightly, cock resting against his stomach. The sight made your heart hammer as you straddled his thighs.
Steve took the camera back into his hands, a wide smile on his face. “Alright, just do what you were doing,” he instructed. “Left hand though.”
You glanced down at your hand and smiled softly. The engagement ring— your engagement ring— glinted up at you. You spit onto your hand and Steve groaned at the sight.
“Haven’t even touched you yet,” you teased.
“Don’t let me stop you.” His voice wavered, revealing just how needy he really was.
He cried out the moment your hand wrapped around his length, head tossed back against the headboard. His cock pulsed in your hand as it glided up and down, aching for more. You leaned down, spitting onto his tip, giving you more slickness to work with.
“Fuck,” he groaned, his chest heaving. You moved your right hand to his balls, kneading them as you focused your attention on the head. “Jesus, look at that fuckin’ rock, huh?”
You rolled your eyes and chuckled wryly. “That’s what you’re thinking about? Not— y’know— the handjob to end all handjobs?” To prove your point, you twisted your hand and let your thumb glide over his slit. He practically whimpered, bucking into your grip.
You redoubled your efforts, relishing in each desperate, whiny noise you were able to elicit. He was getting close— you could feel it in the way he throbbed in your hand, and hear it in the desperate pants and moans passing his lips. Before he could finish, you slowed your pace and let him come back from the edge.
He sat there, arm slung over his eyes, just catching his breath. “Earth to Steve?” You teased, placing a kiss on his tummy. He made a low noise in the back of his throat and took another deep breath.
“Okay, I’m good,” he said, a breathy laugh escaping his lips as he finally lowered his arm and looked at you. “Just needed a minute so I didn’t—“ You giggled as he mimed an explosion, completely unabashed about the effect you had on him.
He grabbed the camera and placed it on the bedside table, doing his best to angle it just right. “Alright… wanna take a ride on the Harrington Express?” He patted his thighs with a smug expression and you groaned in annoyance.
“Steve.”
“Fine. I’ll be so cool. I’ll be totally normal. But just know… you’re marrying a loser.”
You rolled your eyes good-naturedly as you straddled his thighs. “I wouldn’t have it any other way… most of the time.”
He stared up at you like you hung the moon, all doe eyes and heart-shaped pupils. He pressed a gentle kiss to your lips, tender and slow, and you hummed contentedly at the feeling.
“I love you,” he murmured against your lips. He moved one of your hands from his shoulder and down to his chest, where his heart thumped steadily. For you.
Your own heart lurched in your chest as a swell of emotions overtook you. “I love you too, Steve.”
You reached between the two of you, taking his cock into your hand so you could position him at your entrance. You breathed slowly through your nose as you sank down— the prep and attention he had given you made the stretch comfortable and bearable, so all you felt was the pleasurable full feeling that he gave you.
Once you were fully seated, you gave an experimental roll of your hips. A moan escaped you at the feeling— as each tiny movement made delicious electricity run along your nerves.
He sat up fully, his chest pressing against yours, holding you firmly against him. “That’s it, baby,” he groaned, cutting himself off to plant wet kisses along your jaw and throat. “Feels so good. Love the way your pussy feels around me.”
He cried out as you began to ride him in earnest, not caring how thin the walls of the condo were. His hands gripped onto your hips and dimpled the plush skin there as he began to meet your thrusts with his own. With each movement, you could feel him getting deeper until you could practically feel him in your guts.
“Steve,” you gasped out, meeting his gaze as he fucked up into you. The sound of his name seemed to spur him on.
“Say it again,” he demanded. “Touch yourself while you do,”
You whimpered at the tone of his voice, snaking a hand between your bodies to toy with your clit. Your limbs felt like jelly as he continued to fuck the life and brains out of you. “St-Steve, fuck, baby,” you cried between the hiccup-y sobs of pleasure that were punched from your lungs.
“Fuck, you’re squeezin’ me so tight. Not gonna last like this.”
“Don’t,” you managed. “Cum for me. With me.” You leaned in and kissed him in a way that felt like more saliva than lips.
When you pulled back, he nodded, forehead pressed against yours as you both worked each other over the edge. Your vision was spotted with pinpricks of light while he worked you through it, his moans distant in your ears.
You were both panting, nearly tacked together with sweat as you came down. You chuckled lightly as you tilted your head to look at him. “That was one hell of a celebration.” He intertwined your fingers and placed a kiss on your ring finger.
“And we have the rest of our lives to do it again, and again, and again, and ag—“
You shut him up with a kiss. You figure that for the rest of your lives, that’s always going to work.
It does.

Imagine | Mine (Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen)
Imagine Feyd discovering that someone has dared to harm what’s his.
Word Count: 1,574
Warnings: possessive!Feyd, objectification, blood, murder, (Feyd is his own psychotic warning in himself to be honest.)
Tumblr media
Na-Baron Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen is not known for his mercy.
Ask anyone in the universe who has heard even a whisper of House Harkonnen, and they will warn to tread carefully when dealing with them. If you value your life, you wouldn't even get near them.
And everyone knows Feyd-Rautha is one of the best examples of Harkonnen rage and violence, second only to his uncle, the Baron.
Renowned for his physical prowess as a fighter, his insatiable lust for blood and death, and his determination to rise in power and favour, he is a force to be reckoned with.
So why would anyone dare go against him?
He finds himself asking this as he looks upon your form, head bowed and turned slightly away from him. Hiding something.
Gracefully and predatory as a panther, he approaches you slowly.
"My darling.." his voice rasps.
Normally you greet him immediately, recognizing his footfalls from down the hall. You would smile at your na-Baron and ask him how his day went if you did not spend it with him.
You are oddly subdued tonight.
His eyes, always searching, follow a drop which falls from your cheek, landing on the cold concrete floor. Instantly, he is before you, grasping your chin in his strong hand. He tilts your head up, none too gently, and examines your tear-stained face.
"What happened?" His already raspy voice is deeper, darker.
Feyd is no stranger to your tears. In fact, he often revels in their presence, trying all sorts of things to make you cry. But he hasn't done anything to illicit that response today.
When you don't offer an answer right away, his grip tightens, squishing your cheeks together.
"Speak."
His voice holds no room for disobedience. You nod your head and he releases you, stepping back slightly.
You shake slightly as you begin, "I am sorry, na-Baron."
Feyd's anger is growing. You only call him that in public or when you are disturbed.
"Do not apologize. Explain," he can't stop himself from hissing.
"I took a walk today," you begin slowly. "Just to the training grounds to see if you were there. But I didn't see you so I walked back. He stopped me and-"
"'He'?" Feyd echoes.
"Richter," you supply the name of one of the Baron's top generals. "He grabbed me and said I was a no-good whore who should've been disposed of long ago."
Anger swirls with Feyd's chest at this news. Of course, many people have said harsh and often cruel things to you. But you always kept your head high and ignored the jabs. You’re always so strong.
This is different, he can tell.
"What else? You are not one to cry over a mere insult," he brings his hand up to swipe a tear from your soft cheek. You lean into his touch, relishing in its familiarity.
You inhale deeply, "He struck me without warning, na-Baron."
In his oft colourless word, all Feyd now sees is red.
"Where?" His voice is so low it's almost impossible to hear.
You shake as you lower the collar of your dress to reveal a swollen area on your shoulder, "Here."
His dark eyes flicker to yours, bidding you to continue.
You move your hand to your face and gently touch your tearstained cheek, "And here."
Feyd's hand clenches into a fist. He bends closer to examine your face, noting the slight swelling and the way you bow your head. He places his hand on the back of your head, angling your face upwards. A featherlight kiss is applied to your skin so softly you can barely feel it.
Your master and lover rises to his full height, "Rest my darling, I shall return shortly."
He turns to leave but you reach out and grab his arm. Feyd stops and turns to stare at you.
"Please, na-Baron. Don't hurt him."
He scowls at your request, "He has hurt you. Death is his reward."
"He has done nothing that you have not," you say. "I have known worse pain from your own hands.”
Feyd shakes his head and grips your arms, dragging you forward to stand with your bodies touching.
"Only I can touch what's mine. Only I can hurt you how I see fit. You take the pain only I give you." He dips his head close to your ear, breath sending shivers down your spine. “Do you understand?”
"Of course, my lord na-Baron," your voice is breathy.
You are intoxicated by his closeness, the dangerous poise with which he caries himself, the possessiveness of his words and the truth of them.
"Say it."
"I'm yours alone, Feyd."
He crashes his lips onto yours, teeth clashing and lips bruising from the force of it. His hand squeezes your neck as he kisses you. When he finally parts, leaving you breathless, he takes a moment to admire you. His thumb brushes against your lips before he turns once more.
"That swine sealed his fate when he laid hands on what's mine," Feyd growls as he stalks out of the room.
He returns mere minutes later, dragging an incredibly nervous Richter behind him. With a violent shove, he pushes the frightened man to stand before you.
"I heard you disrespected my darling," Feyd points to the floor. "Kneel."
Richter obeys without hesitation. He knows how quick Feyd is to anger… and how few survive it.
"Kiss her shoe."
The man's eyes flicker to yours.
"Now," Feyd places his foot on Richter's back, forcing him down.
Shakily, he presses his lips to your shoe with a mumbled apology. It does nothing to sate Feyd-Rautha's wrath.
With practised ease, Feyd lands a harsh kick to the man's ribs. He repeats the action until the man is a sobbing mess splayed before your feet like an offering.
You regard him coldly, remembering the bite of his hand across your face.
“Please! Please forgive me, my lord!” Richter manages to sob coherent words. Spit and blood dribbles from his mouth pathetically.
“You have insulted me,” Feyd states. “Hurt what’s mine, belittled what’s mine.”
The man’s hand reaches towards your foot, as if you could spare him from the savage that is Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen.
Feyd crushes his hand beneath his shoe, grinding down eliciting a whimper of pain, as he steps before you and above his prey.
He is regal in his violence, eyes shining with possessive obsession.
“Dear one,” he places his hand on your arm before handing you one of his blades. “Help me.”
He smirks as you grip the knife tightly. Your eyes meet his.
Feyd knows you’d do anything he asked of you, just as he knows he’d burn the universe to ashes if you asked him too.
“Of course, my lord,” you say, kneeling by the hurt man. “If it pleases you.”
Feyd’s grin reveals blackened teeth, “You please me, dearest. Now, make him suffer for insulting me and mine.”
The first cut is shallow, uncertain as it travels down the man’s bare arm. Feyd tsks his disapproval.
You adjust your grip and slash again, quickly this time, hitting deep and pointedly. The man screams out and thrashes, but Feyd is upon him in a second. He holds Richter still as you unleash your rage upon him.
Feyd watches you draw blood with a pleasure he’s never experienced before. Relishing in your bared teeth and angry snarls, he commits this to his memory.
He halts your hand as the man ceases his thrashing. With a predatory smile, Feyd guides your hand with his, penetrating the blade deep into the man’s throat.
You watch the man loose his life, as you pant with exertion.
“You have done well, my pet,” Feyd praises, removing the knife from your hand and tossing it aside. He places his hand atop your head.
“Thank you, Feyd.”
He moves his hand down your back and presses his face into your blood stained neck, inhaling deeply. Your hands come around to grasp his shoulders, bringing him close to you. He wraps his strong arms around you, holding you like a lover would.
When he sits up, you lunge forward, capturing his lips with yours. Ignoring the blood and the dead body on the floor, you guide Feyd towards the bed, hands leaving bloody marks on his pale skin.
“Please let me repay you,” you beg, tugging at his shirt. “Allow me to repent.”
“You don’t need to repent, love. But you can keep begging.”
He allows you to disrobe him and press him down onto the soft bedding.
In all honesty, Feyd craves this battle of dominance between you. He could overpower you in an instant, yet the hold you have over him has him bending to your will.
You need only beg and he would take a knee and worship at your feet.
And you know it.
You know he craves this, needs it like an addict. He adores the pain you can lavish upon him, adores the meek demeanour you show to everyone else, adores the side of you that matches his own carnal desires tenfold, adores the way you gladly bleed for him.
He adores you.
And you worship each other in a wicked ritual of blood, sweat, and tears each night.
And he’d never let anyone take this away from him- take you away from him.
He’d kill anyone who dared try.

The 5 Times You Flirted With Bob + The 1 Time He Picked Up on It
Summary: You've fallen for your friend and have decided to drop some hints that you're flirting. Unfortunately, Bob doesn't realize that immediately.
Warnings: Language, no y/n, female reader, reader has a callsign (Honey)
Thank you to @dissonannce for this amazing idea. Thank you @acewritesfics for the dividers!
Tumblr media
"Your hands are so big."
It took Bob a moment to register that you were in fact, talking to him.
"Oh! Um yeah. My ma made me do piano because she felt I was given the hands for them," Bob wiggled his fingers for extra effect, "Y'know, since they're so long."
Yes, they were quite long. It was one of the first things you noticed about Bob. Well, after you noticed his beautiful blue eyes, his endearing lopsided smile, the way he was so considerate of everyone else, so gentle, and yet there was an underlying confidence about him. He was sure of himself, but he didn't feel the need to brag.
Who could blame you for falling head over heels for him?
You flashed him a smile, hand reaching towards his.
"It's just, your hand is so much bigger than mine. See?" You propped his arm up, allowing your palm to press against his, both your fingers spread out to showcase the difference in size.
"See? My hand is so small compared to yours," You giggled. Bob looked down at your hands. Your breath hitched, your fingers twitching, dying to entwine with his.
"Yeah, there is quite a difference in size," Bob said, giving you that small smile you adored so much. That smile gave you the confidence to entwine your fingers with his.
"I think they fit pretty well together, see?" He wasn't letting go. He was still smiling as he looked down at your hand holding his.
Maybe this was finally it, he'd finally realized that you liked him and would-
"I'm gonna go get some more peanuts, can I get ya anything?"
You mustered up a smile, trying to cover up your disappointment, "I'll take a water. Thanks Robby."
As soon as he left, you shot Jake a dirty look, "Seresin, you said that shit would work!"
Jake, who had been pretending to play a game of pool with Bradley, Javy, and Mickey, put his hands up in defense, "Because it usually does! Everyone knows when a girl compares hand sizes it means she wants you!"
"Everyone but Bob apparently," Javy muttered.
"Maybe you just need to be more obvious?" Mickey suggested.
You sighed. You knew Bob. The last thing you wanted was to be so blunt it would overwhelm him. But at the same time, you two had been doing this whole 'friends but also more than that and I'm pretty sure we're flirting?' for the last month and you were getting annoyed with it how seemed to be going nowhere.
Perhaps Mickey was right. You were going to have to be a bit more obvious.
Tumblr media
"Bee? You ready?" Bob called out from your living room. Bob's nickname of your callsign (Honey) always brought a smile to your face, as well as heat to your cheeks.
"Almost! Can I get your thoughts on this top?" You asked as you walked in.
"Yeah, I'm sure you look-oh." Bob's eyes widened as he took in the green top you were wearing.
It was tighter than the shirts you normally wore, highlighting your breasts. The fabric stopped right at the end of your rib cage, showing off your stomach and bringing attention to your high waisted jeans, which according to Jake "did wonders for your ass".
"What do you think?" You clasped your hands together, the action causing your breasts to stick out even further.
"Um the uh, the color is really great on you. B-brings out your eyes," Bob said, his eyes looking everywhere except you.
With the way his cheeks were bright red, it gave you confidence to step forward, your body now inches away from his, "I was hoping it would bring out something else besides my eyes Robby."
"I mean you you look great in everything you wear! So mission accomplished," Bob said quickly, his hands fidgeting with his car keys.
"Anything else you want to say about the outfit Robby? I really value your opinion." You stood on the tips of your toes, bringing your chest closer to Bob's face.
It was the first time since you walked in that his eyes landed on your chest. He cleared his throat, as if he was gathering up the courage to say it.
"You should grab a jacket, it's supposed to go down to the low sixties tonight," He said, turning around to head out the door.
God damn it.
You grabbed your phone, quickly texting the group.
Honey: We need to go to Plan C.
Rooster: Plan C?! You're saying the top didn't work?
Bagman: Dude, your tits were like out.
Rooster: Maybe they weren't out enough?
Coyote: If they were out any more, Honey would be getting a public indecency charge.
Phoenix: Maybe we shouldn't use clothes to express our feelings? Just a thought 🤦🏽
Fanboy: Yeah Nat, that's plan C.
Payback: Can we not blow up the group chat tonight? The finale of Insecure is on.
Tumblr media
Your right leg bounced up and down in nervous anticipation, your eyes never leaving the entrance to the Hard Deck.
"You don't think this is too much, is it?" You asked your friends/coworkers.
"Nah, it'll be perfect!" Mickey reassured you.
"You and Bob are going to walk out of here holding hands by the end of the night, guarantee it," Jake commented as he lined up the balls for a round of pool.
It took all your strength not to jump out of your seat when you saw Bob walk in. His iridescent blue eyes scanned the room, landing on you. He always seemed to search for you, which had to be a sign that he wanted more, that he felt the same way as you did.
You greeted him with a smile, patting the empty seat next to him.
"Hey Robby! I got something for you!" You called out.
Bob just smiled as he sat down, "I see you got my signature: water and peanuts. Thanks Bee!"
You giggled, shaking your head, "Yes, but that's not just it. These are for you!"
Bob stared at the bouquet of flowers you were holding out for him.
"For me? These are for me?" He asked, eyes wide as saucers.
"Yes! I was just thinking, like why is giving guys flowers not a thing? Because it totally should be! And no one deserves these flowers more than you Robby," You explained, a hopeful smile adorning your face.
Bob gently took the bouquet, admiring each flower.
"I thought they would go well with your eyes-that's why a most of them are yellow," you explained, trying to hide how nervous you were.
"These are perfect," Bob said before leaning down to smell the flowers.
"Really? Each flower has a different meaning," you began, hoping that by fidgeting with your hands, you'd be able to conceal your nerves.
Bob simply smiled, his face the epitome of saccharine, "Oh, I already know."
Your breath hitched, "You do?"
Bob nodded, "Oh yeah! Alstroemerias symbolize support, sunflowers are for loyalty, and violets stand for intuition!"
He wasn't wrong. You couldn't tell if you were upset by that or the fact that Mickey forgot flowers can have more than one meaning.
Time for Plan D.
Tumblr media
"Hey Robby! You ready to watch hot people make poor decisions?"
"Ready as I'll ever-that's new," Bob said softly, taking in the new loungewear you had on for your biweekly Love Island watch.
"Oh this? I think I got it last week," you said as you let Bob into your apartment, "It's super comfy and it has pockets!"
It also was cut low, showing off your cleavage, as well as the tops of your thigh.
"Yeah, the uh, color looks really good on you Bee," Bob commented. The compliment brought a smile to your face. He noticed you, noticed you were wearing something new, and seemed to be noticing your now exposed skin.
"Well, let's go see if these folks gain any common sense," you grabbed his hand, practically beaming at how your hand fit perfectly in his.
"Somehow I doubt it," Bob chuckled.
When he offered to hold the popcorn for while you two watched, you weren't disappointed. Sure, it meant you weren't able to hold his hand. But it did mean you could move closer to him, your thighs practically touching.
"I really hope he doesn't take her back," Bob muttered, his eyes glued to the screen.
"He will. They always do," you sighed, gently moving your head so it rested against one of his broad shoulders.
If your action had any effect on Bob, he didn't show it. Which was the problem.
"I would pick you in the recoupling," You revealed, hoping that would be enough, would finally be enough.
Bob smiled, placing a hand on your knee, "That's kind of you Bee. But I think friendship couples go against the nature of the show."
It took everything in you not to scream.
The rest of the night was just a typical Love Island watch night, no touching, no initiating, no declarations of love, and ending with Bob giving you a friendly hug goodbye.
With a sigh, you flopped onto your bed to check your messages.
Bagman: Bee, please tell us it worked and you're marking sweet love to baby on board
Phoenix: you're disgusting Seresin.
Rooster: why would they stop fucking just to text you Bagman?
Bagman: so we can pop some champagne to celebrate
Fanboy: Why the fuck is would we do that?
Coyote: It's a big event! Bee told Bob how she feels AND Bob's getting laid!
Payback: Can I just get one night of peace? Just one night?
You: No one's doing anything bc it didn't work!
Rooster: Not trying to be rude, but weren't you like almost naked?
Bagman: Like 52% nude.
Phoenix: JFC, we're going to plan E folks.
Coyote: Is that when we just lock them in a closet?
Bagman: No that's plan G
Tumblr media
"Hey Bee!"
The cheerful, charming voice always brought a smile to your face.
"Hi Robby!" You greeted him with a hug, the comforting scent of rosemary filling your nostrils, "You smell really nice."
"Oh um thanks," A hand flew to the back of Bob's neck, a nervous (and also adorable) habit, "Wanted to smell nice after doing all those pushups out in the sun."
"Well it worked, you smell great," One of your hands reached up to the nape of his neck, toying with the hair that had curled at the end, "Look great too."
The tops of Bob's cheeks were now a dusty pink, "It's just a white Tshirt."
You took a step forward, placing your hands on his chest, "It's a good look Robby. Shows off your muscles. I like it on you.
Bob's lips parted, then promptly closed.
"Uh, t-thanks Bee." He had to know now that you were flirting with him. It was clear as day.
Feeling confident, your hands trailed down to his, grasping them, "We should dance!"
You didn't wait for Bob to answer, dragging him out to the middle of the floor. The sounds of Bradley covering Frankie Valli (begrudgingly, as apparently Jerry Lee Lewis was better) filled the bar.
After a few minutes, Bob's shoulders visibly relaxed, a smile spreading across his face. You threw your head back laughing as he bust out a goofy dance move.
Everyone thought Bob was shy, but that wasn't the case. He was observant, determined to get a good read on someone so he knew how to approach the situation accordingly. Once he was comfortable, his personality shined and he was a sweet, goofy man who you adored with all your heart.
The grin you had was so wide, your cheeks were beginning to hurt. But you couldn't stop, not when he was twirling you around.
"Where did you learn to dance like that?" You asked, having to say it into his ear so he could hear your voice above the music.
Bob shrugged, "I come from a big family. When you know you're going to a lot of weddings, knowing how to dance helps. That and my mom made me do cotillion."
"Well, all that practice paid off. You're a great dance partner Robby." You rested your chin against his broad chest, looking up to meet eyes bluer than the ocean.
In that moment, all you could do was focus on him. The way the corner of his eyes creased when he truly smiled, his comforting scent, his pink, thin lips that you were dying to feel on yours.
You wondered if he could hear your heart pounding, if he could feel it since your body was practically on his.
His hands found their way to your arms, gently placing themselves on your biceps. Was this it? It had to be.
So you stood on the tips of your toes, your lips now closer to his. Your eyes began to close as you leaned in to-
"I gotta go. Jake stuck his foot in his mouth again."
This wasn't a lie. But it still didn't dull your disappointment. Nor did it sedate your growing frustration at this whole situation.
Perhaps you didn't need Plan G or H Perhaps it was time to go with your original plan.
Tumblr media
The next time you saw Bob was when Nat threw a small get together to celebrate the end of a long week.
He was wearing that damn white Tshirt again. Whenever he brought his cup of water to his mouth, the fabric stretched across his bicep.
Was he doing this on purpose? Did he know? Consciously or not, that you had fallen for him ever since you two first met at training?
Either way, you were tired of this game you had been playing for the past month.
"Are you sure about this?" Natasha asked.
You simply nodded before taking a shot of vodka. A little liquid courage was always nice.
"Nat, he's oblivious. Honestly, I don't know why we didn't do this the first time," Jake commented as he took the shot glass out of your hand.
"Because we didn't expect him to be that oblivious," Mickey countered.
"Well everyone, wish me luck." You walked out of the kitchen to find Bob still sitting on the couch, glass of water in hand.
His eyes met yours and he gave you a smile sweeter than honey. Your legs began to wobble, whether it was from that smile or your nerves, you couldn't say.
You walked over, making a beeline for him. Bob's eyes widened, his fingers gripping his cup. Your gaze was so intense.
"Hey Bee-oh!" Bob froze as you sat down in his lap, your thighs straddling his lithe hips.
"Hey Robby," your hands found his shoulders, fingers toying with the thin cotton fabric of his shirt.
"Uh Bee, there's um, there's a seat right there," Bob weakly pointed to the empty space next to him.
"I don't want that," you leaned forward, your forehead grazing his, "I want you Robby."
His eyes widened once more, as if he just saw an incoming train, "M-me?"
"Yes. Wanted you ever since that first day of training, when you offered me a mint," you told him.
"I uh, you looked sleepy and mint is known to wake you up and," Bob paused, "Did you say since the first day of training?"
You nodded, smiling at how you were able to see him process this information.
"The first day of training?" He repeated.
"Yes Bob, all you did was offer me a mint and smile to make me fall head over heels for ya," your fingers now went up to the back of his neck, twirling the curled ends of his hair, "Been trying to tell you that for the last month."
Bob opened his mouth, then promptly closed it, his brain still processing everything.
"You good Rob-" You never got to finish your sentence, as Bob decided right then was the best time to press his lips against yours.
His lips were soft and tasted faintly of vanilla, no doubt from the chapstick you watched him reapply. His touch was gentle, his thick fingers ghosting over your thighs, trailing up to your waist. Every move, no matter how small, made your heart fluttered.
Being so close to him, you could smell his aftershave, a mix of eucalyptus and sage. It was intoxicating and you wanted to be surrounded by it all the time, wanted to kiss him all the time.
When he broke away for air, you had to hold back a whimper, your lips desperate for more.
"FINALLY!"
You turned your head to find Bradley, along with Mickey, Natasha, Jake, Javy, and Reuben standing by the doorframe, in perfect view of you and Bob.
You smiled and opened your mouth, ready to make a quick remark. But Bob's fingers hooked underneath your chin, turning your head back to meet his lips again.
Unlike the first kiss, this one was bolder. His lips moved against yours with more confidence. Your whole body felt warm, as if you were floating. His hands now cupped your jawline, which is how you learned that Bob's hands practically covered your whole neck, a discovery that sent you reeling.
Your hands trailed up to his head, desperate to feel his sun kissed locks, desperate to find out if they were as soft as they looked. But just before you could, Bob broke away.
"What?" Anxiety came rushing back, dragging you away from Cloud Nine, your previous location. Did he regret it?
"Let's go."
He moved your body to the empty space on the couch, quickly getting up. You took his hands, allowing him to help you get up. You held onto one hand as he led you to the front door.
"Bob! What are you doing with my backseater?" Javy called out.
"Making up for lost time!"
Maybe you should be a little embarrassed. But how could you? You had finally kissed the man of your dreams, he kissed you back. He wanted to leave with you.
The sounds of the house party fainted, becoming soft background noise as you went outside.
Bob stopped, turning around to face you. Before you could get out a sound, his lips were on you again. His hands pulled your body to his, closing the gap in-between.
You couldn't help but moan when you felt his tongue slide against your bottom lip, immediately granting him entrance. You could hear Bob's breath hitch, his hands roaming across your body, touching your soft skin.
Abruptly, he pulled away, leaving you desperate for more.
"Why do you keep doing that?!"
"I...." His face was flushed, "I meant to ask you if if you drove yourself here. But you looked so kissable. You still do, God I just wanna kiss you again."
"I'm not stopping you Robby," you grinned, stepping towards him, "I'm not stopping you at all."
"Oh don't tell me that darlin'" his Midwestern upbringing laced his words. You always loved his accent, having found it not just unique but also comforting.
Somehow, despite his lips pressed against yours, Bob was able to walk you back to his car, your back meeting the cool metal.
His broad body draped over yours, his tongue frantically exploring your mouth. Your fingers reached up, grasping his hair. It was soft and much thicker than you expected.
What else was there about Bob you had yet to learn? What kind of toothpaste he used, if he drank tea or coffee in the morning. Did he fall asleep to rain sounds or silence? How many pillows were on his bed?
You wanted to know everything.
But right now, you just wanted to kiss Bob.
Your fingers tugged on his hair in an attempt to pull him closer to you. Despite his chest being pressed against yours, it wasn't enough. You wanted all of him.
"We should get in the car," He said, voice breathless. With the way his chest was rising, one would think he had just ran ten miles.
Bob began moving towards the driver's side of his truck, but he stopped, turning back to you.
"I want to take you home," He stated. It sounded like a confession with the way guilt laced his eyes.
"I would love that Robby."
Instead, he just shook his head, "But I shouldn't because you deserve more than that. You deserve a nice date, like that Italian restaurant we always pass when we go to Bradley's. You deserve that and flowers and a lovely dinner with candles and wine that's older than both of us-"
You cut him off by gently pecking his lips, "It's okay Bob. You could take me to that diner up the room from your place tomorrow morning and I'd be elated because I would be with you."
He shook his head, clearly torn between continuing to talk and continuing to kiss you, "But....it's the least I should do. I mean, after all the hints you were dropping. I thought you were just being friendly and-"
"What friend asks another friend to look at their chest?" You asked incredulously.
"I thought maybe we were just really close! That you were really comfortable around me, which is why I didn't think anything regarding what you wore when we watched Love Island. I mean," his face reddened, "I did think about it. Um I thought about it a lot and if you ever want to wear it again, I would not mind-"
"Bob," you stepped forward, placing your hands on his chest.
"I mean, you got me Violets! Those mean loyalty and devotion, as well as delicate love! And believe me I wanted to kiss you at the Hard Deck, but that is entirely Jake's fault-"
"As most things are."
"And looking back it was so obvious and I can't believe I didn't pick up on it," He paused, "Sorry, I I had to get that out. I can take you home or back to my place, whatever you want."
You giggled, delighted by his ramblings. You wanted to hear more of it.
"And now I just want to kiss you. Like all the time," He confessed, his lips moving closer to yours.
"Robby, get in the car," you instructed.
"Oh, um, okay," Bob unlocked his car, moving towards the driver seat.
"No Bob. Get in the back of the car," you instructed.
Bob's brows knitted together in confusion, "But then how will I drive-oh!"
Who knows if you were going to make it back to his place or yours. All you cared about was getting your lips and hands back on Bob Floyd.

ok. years have passed and we've had some distance, so i'm finally gonna take the leap of faith that tma fandom is finally ready to hear me on this. let's talk about tannins.
161 was the first tma episode i heard on early release, and i felt the bit where martin declines wine and cites tannins was pretty obvious in its implications. cool, got it, say no more.
imagine my surprise when i was one of maybe three people i saw read between the lines there, in a fandom famous for red stringing--a fandom that immediately caught the much less obvious thread of ignition sources in the same episode. i'll spell it out: alcohol is an issue for martin.
maybe it just felt obvious because addiction is a pet issue for me--as it is for jonny, who has said everything he writes is filtered through a lens of addiction. i don't know if that's due to his own experience or a loved one's, and i won't speculate; i also don't know if martin personally struggled with drinking or just avoids it for fear he would, but alcohol would fit what we know of his family. his dad walking out and his mum spiralling into bitter wallowing and verbal abuse? i'd bet one or both of them drank, yeah.
on a basic level martin tries to decline alcohol, and that alone should have raised eyebrows given what we know of martin and, again, a fandom that dissects everything. we already knew martin "K" blackwood lied about his personal life and his family in particular, especially pre-canon, which is when this flashback took place. i was shocked that everyone took his flimsy excuse at face value with no further questions.
and the excuse is flimsy. martin turns down wine by--nervously--exclaiming tannins are "a proven headache trigger!" which sounds like trivia from a magazine cover and not the words of someone who actually has headaches--and it hasn't come up before or since. jon, confused, points out that tea, a drink martin consumes to a degree that is memetic both in- and out-of-universe, also contains tannins, and martin squawks a panicked, "what?!"
if tannins are enough of a concern for martin that he knew they're in wine and so avoids it, why didn't he know they're in his drink of choice? why does he still drink tea at the time of canon, and why doesn't he struggle with constant headaches from consuming 'a proven headache trigger' day in and day out? why, indeed, would someone avoid wine and not tea?
when sasha insists martin drink he caves and agrees to 'just a drop'. i imagine him pouring it in a plant, which admittedly he could have done if tannins really were the issue. i will say that i, for one, would be less likely to falsely agree to something that makes me physically ill than to a private issue that i'd rather not be pressed on any further. this scene also establishes martin's birthday was an ice cream party instead of the more traditional visit to a pub.
also, this scene was in the first episode of the final season, as one of three flashbacks that could have been to any pre-canon event in the archives. prime narrative real estate. not really time one would waste on establishing the important character context that martin has... headaches. which never comes up before or after, even regarding the week he spent in spiral town. but you know what is pretty crucial character background...?
it felt like a no-brainer, and yet all i saw was h/c fluff about jon attending to martin's headaches. and i hate feeling bitter about disability representation. i want folks with chronic headaches to feel seen and have fluffy escapist fantasies. i don't want to be mad about people portraying a character with a disability. but, guys? you got the wrong disability. jonny sent a clear message, and it went over fandom's head.

Warnings- cheating ( WITH y/n), Asshole Harry, I hate everyone but her, old money/wealth, toxic relationship dynamic, harry is mean and will be mean but not to Y/N lmao, smut
WC- 2.4k
------------
Harry had just finished cleaning himself of cum as his phone rang.
It was his girlfriend. ‘Girlfriend’, really, because this wasn’t a real relationship. Not in his mind, anyways.
“What?” His voice was a sharp whip, already annoyed that the post orgasm bliss had been interrupted by Katherine. Y/N was sitting next to him, her leg thrown over his thigh as fingers traced over his chest, absentminded circles pausing when she heard his attitude already. Her brow raised as he lifted the phone to show the name on the screen, making her nod, lips turning down. That irritated him further.
“When are you coming to get me?” A voice that pierced his ears made him close his eyes, a dull throb beginning to coast down his head. “Daddy said you’re coming to the event and you were going to pick me up!”
She was huffing like a child, not wanting to wait. Realistically, he would leave in 30 minutes. Y/N would stay curled up in his bed and wait for him to come home before he took her away to one of his family cabin’s with the rest of their friend group- the ones who knew of him and Y/N. He would spend the entire night trying to think of an excuse to get back to her early, and hoping Katherine wouldn’t throw a fit about not being able to come on this ‘business trip’.
“You live with your father. Could you have not shared a ride?” His tone was icy, something Y/N had never been the recipient of. Thank god, really. As sexy as it was to hear him talk like that to other people, it would definitely make her cry. The man was intense, even he knew that, but not everyone seemed to catch on.
“Hazza! Come on.” She whined. “He already left and stopped by the office. I’m getting ready now but we have to be early for the photos!” As if that was going to help her cause. It was like the girl had a handbook on how to say the wrong things.
Harry didn’t do those stupid step and repeats. While Katherine loved being the center of attention, it wasn’t something Harry desired. In actuality, he detested it. He hated paparazzi and had broken 2 cameras from having them in his face without a second glance. No aggression, the picture of calm with pure ice on his face as he did so. If they valued their possessions, they shouldn’t be shoving them in people’s way. That’s what he thought, at least.
“I’ll be there in an hour. I’m not doing those photos. I don’t care what you do. Now stop calling me when I'm in the middle of things. You know if I don’t answer once, wait for further instruction.” He paused. “And stop calling me that childish nickname. I don’t find it cute or endearing, it’s embarrassing. Goodbye.”
There was a sharp squeak as he hung up the phone and threw it to the ground, rolling Y/N around onto her back and sliding his still sticky cock back inside of her yet again. His annoyance was clear on his face, but it quickly melted away as her arms wrapped around him and her lips covered his face with soft coos, legs pulling him in deeper. Maybe she was a bit sore, maybe his last load was still dripping out of her messy hole, but she knew exactly how the man needed to express himself.
“I know.” Her silky voice wrapped around his tension and broke it down, slow thrusts inside of her quelling the bubbling irritation in his stomach and turning it into arousal. Y/N could read his stone cold features, knew what his eye twitch meant, the simple movement of a brow or the tiniest down or upturn of lip. This magnificent woman seemed to have him all figured out, and he felt like shit for having to leave and be seen with another woman. “I know, baby. Only a few more months.” Fingers stroked his hair back, guiding his lips to her own.
He kissed her back, eyes squeezing shut as he allowed himself to lose the anger that had developed by focusing on her. The heat of her cunt wrapped up tight around him, snug. Fitting him perfectly, just as it always had. Y/N was the one he had wanted to take to these things, but he had to wait. For once, his patience wasn’t being practiced.
The best thing in his life had to be hidden from most people, all because he had taken a stupid deal. He had to go out with the girl who thought she was going to be the next Mrs.Styles, while all he wanted to do was stay nestled in his luxury sheets with Y/N’s soft, supple body to worship.
It was all his fault, though.
He had always been ambitious. Ruthless, some may say, but he knew that to a degree he could be cruel to get what he wanted. That was how had been raised. His father had put that right into his head, doing anything for success, power, money… that’s how he ended up in this situation.
In order to secure the deal of a lifetime, he had agreed to date the man’s daughter. Maybe that sounded cruel, but he knew the intentions from the get go. The man was using his conventionally pretty, high society daughter to try and sweeten the deal- but he knew the true motivation. An attempt to get him into the family and continue having control of the company through his daughter’s supposed relationship with him. If only he had been smarter, if he had done more research. He would know he was sending a sacrificial lamb right into Harry’s awaiting lion jaws.
See, she had been no stranger to him. Katherine had been after him for quite a while. They were acquainted to a certain degree, running in similar circles and society dinners. The crush, more so the obsession she had with Harry had been no secret to anyone. She claimed to have been in love with him, but Harry knew what it truly was. A lust for money. An infatuation with the power he could secure her. She loved what Harry could represent for her, not only to secure place in the society she had been thrown into as she grew up- but to elevate it. She knew the score, knew what Harry’s ring could mean.
Katherine knew nothing of his true personality, his likes, his dislikes, his jokes. All of those things were reserved for the tiniest selection of people that she only knew of in passing. His real friends barely touched that superficial, vapid, bitter world. Katherine’s family was new money, looking to secure their place in society. Harry’s wealth went in decades, and it would most likely stay that way. Her vying for his attention didn’t shock him in the slightest.
The condition of dating Katherine for at least a year had been one he had wanted to scoff at, one he had wanted to tell Mr. Eugene Brant that it would be obvious what it was, but he was smart enough to bite his tongue and agree. Playing stupid was a superpower, letting him think he got one over on Harry and vastly overestimating his daughter’s appeal. One year of being toted around with her overly big smile and his signature scowl on his face hadn’t been an issue. It was something he would merely go through the motions of until the exact year was up and she would be out of his life.
At least, it hadn’t been until he met Y/N.
The first woman who had ever captured his heart and soul. Softened the edges of his razor sharp glare.
She hadn’t wanted to give him the time of day once she realized he had been flirting whilst not single. She hadn’t known the deceptive relationship and it hadn’t been her fault, but that didn’t mean Harry was going to leave well enough alone. Even after she had dumped her  Shirley temple on his brand new pure cotton button up.
If anything, it made him want her more.
One thing about Harry? He was going to get what he wanted. He would bet anything on it. He was patient, stubborn, and fixated. Checking guest lists to see if she’d be in attendance to parties, see if she was going to hang out with his friend group, he was on the prowl to get her to talk again.
She had blocked his number already- he didn’t really have a chance to explain. He understood why, but that didn’t mean he was going to give up.
When he finally did have the shot to tell her the relationship was a hoax, she was still doubtful. Dubious looks sent his way as he had pulled them into a private room of the club they were at- one his father owned, funnily enough- his hand holding hers as he sat beside her to plead his case. He was strong and defiant, insisting that it was a means to an end and there was no clause saying he couldn’t date other people- but he would like to get to know her on a real level.
Against her better judgment, Y/N had fallen for the soft green eyes, the soft looking lips with the sharp cupid's bow and his even sharper tongue. Giving him one date was all he needed to get her on board.
Fidelity wasn’t a term in the contract he had signed. Stupid, stupid mistake on Brant’s part. A new money, no lawyer to look over, a hasty mistake that would most definitely come to bite him in the ass. Harry hadn’t honored fidelity in the slightest even before he met Y/N. Sex was an outlet for him, as was the gym, things that were pleasurable and stress relieving. He’d only slept with Katherine a handful of times, tapering that off when he saw it made her get more and more attached. She had obviously known Harry had a reputation and while the sex had been alright, there hadn’t been much to his benefit besides the fact that she swallowed his load.
Surprisingly, it wasn’t that hard to find willing participants.
Sex with Y/N had completely rocked his world. He thinks, in part, it was because they had a real connection. She made him wait, she made him work his way up to that if he wanted- and made him stop sex with anyone else. As if he had any interest in anyone else. Y/N had taken up the majority of his brain that wasn’t filled with revenue and contracts and contacts and emails. She was his escape.
The first time they had sex, Harry had fallen for her. There was no question in his mind. Despite being positive that he wouldn’t ever marry for love, Y/N had him questioning that. She had flipped his entire world view upside down, made him weak in the knees.
Y/N wasn’t in the public eye. Her family had some elite ties, but she was friends with a lot of the quietly wealthy people who didn’t feel the need to showcase it to everyone who looked with tacky labels and monograms. She’d gotten into one of the best schools, gotten her degree and continued her friendship with her roommates and best friends- who just happened to be the girlfriends of some of his best mates. The real ones. There were only a few single members of the groups, and Y/N had been the new blood that had people wondering. Harry had been interested immediately.
It was about 4 months into their relationship and everything still felt fantastic. Y/N knew more about Harry than anyone else ever could. She was the one with the key to the future, even if she didn’t know the exact depths his feelings went to.
“I don’t want to go.” His lips parted from hers. “I want to stay here… want to stay buried inside of you, want to feed you your chocolate and lick it from your tongue.” Inhaling his words, she moaned as his hips rolled and he found his home back at her most sensitive spot. He had spent hours finding it, claiming it, and he knew it was his. “Spent all week working… I just want my sweet Angel.”
Noses brushed against one another, Y/N’s bleary eyes opening up to look at his own. Hazy, dark green, hooded. She gently dragged her nails over his shoulder blades, arching up into him and pressed a bit harder on the skin to make him moan in surprise. “You have me, Harry.” She whispered. “You have me now. Leave with my traces on your cock… then come back and take more. We leave tomorrow… and you can hold me how you like. Kiss me. Our friends don’t care. They’ll keep our secret.” Even if it was forbidden, their tight knit group knew exactly what the relationship between Harry and Katherine really was- and none really liked her. They knew Y/N made him happy, softened him up, they’d all been rooting for this. Their safe space. The only ones who knew.
“She won’t ever have me.” He reassured. “I’m yours. I want your marks on me.” Breathing harder, his thrusts getting a bit more deep. “Make me bleed. C’mon, my sweet girl. Paid for those nails… give me what I want.” Her cunt quivered around his prick, making him smile. She pretended not to like that sort of thing, but she got them done specifically for this. To quench his thirst for pain, for marks. They loved it. “She’ll never have me like this. I’m yours.” He whimpered, the freak of the bed and their noises filling the room. “M’yours, baby. My sweet Angel… stay in my bed and wait for me. I’ll give you everything. Just wait for me.”
She would. She would wait for him, to be his fully, as long as it took.

📝- "Is that my shirt?" For Theo Nott
"that's when I love you, that's when"
warnings: alcohol consumption and implications of smut
It was a mistake; you both agreed. Well, you hadn’t actually talked about it, but you knew it was a mistake and were sure Theo would also agree.
You blamed Gryffindors and their parties and most importantly, the right amount of Firewiskey in your system convincing you that dancing and being close to Theo was a good idea.
You went from dancing, to your hands running up and down his chest and his tugging possessively at your hips; you were lucky everyone around you was also drunk and wouldn’t remember the way you two acted.
So, dancing escalated to a heavy make out session by the stairs, which led you right to his bed. Every time you remember that night you feel your whole body heat up, come alive and almost beg for more. But you won’t give in to these thoughts, mainly because you value your friendship way too much.
That is what you say to yourself at least, because you don't want to admit the truth.
What is left of that friendship, anyway? You avoid him almost everyday now, can’t stand to be near him without touching him. His stare sends shivers down your body and you blush like a second year.
You want to grab him by his tie, and smash your lips on his. Actually, you want him to grab you and kiss you without ever intending to stop. But you know him way too well, to know that he would never do that, he is way too subtle and cautious with his feelings and who he lets in.
That morning, the one after the party and after everything that followed it, you ran before he woke. You grabbed whatever clothes you could find and sprinted to your dorm, carefully so no one would notice you. As you laid down in your bed, you felt an ache inside your chest, an emptiness that could only be filled by him. Too bad that could never happen, a voice inside you muttered.
It’s been almost one month after that night, one month since you and Theo have had a proper conversation. You desperately want to know how he is doing, how that essay he was telling you about went, what his last letter from his father said, and most importantly; how he feels after everything that happened.
Did he like it as much as you? Does he remember every detail as clearly as you? Did your touch leave behind an itch- a burn, like the one his hands left on you? And most importantly does he miss you like you miss him?
You put on his shirt, the one you wore that morning, and get ready for bed. You want to sleep everything off. Every emotion and thought tied to him, it feels unbearable when you realize that you will never get to live what you crave most.
It is merely a fantasy inside your head and nothing more. For all you know, he regrets everything or doesn’t remember much. It might be nothing to him, but it is everything to you and that tears through your chest, rips you open, leaving you exposed and hurt.
As you move in your room, trying to find your notebook or a book; anything to distract you, you hear a knock on the door. It is a Saturday night and your roommates are having fun somewhere, but they must have forgotten something.
“Come in.” , you shout absentmindedly
And when you don’t hear your friends voice but instead a nervous cough you turn your body quickly in his direction. In front of you stands Theo, after what feels like forever, looking at you with sad-disappointed eyes, as if wanting to beg for something but unable to find the words.
You stare at him also, it is the first time you are alone with him again and you want to cherish every second. Because you know soon, all that will be gone.
He is the one to speak first, and break the awkward silence
“I...is that my shirt?”, he says making your face turn red from the embarrassment.
“Yes, uh- I took it, I meant to give it back, but I…didn’t. Sorry.” (Sorry for leaving like that, sorry for avoiding you, sorry for being too big of a coward to tell you how I feel)
“It’s alright, I’ve just been looking for it and couldn’t find it, now I know why.” ,he says calmly willing himself to give you a reassuring smile while his hand scratches the back of his head.
“Give me a minute, I’ll go change and hand it to you.”, you quickly say, using the shirt as an excuse to avoid him once more
You walk past him, without caring to hear what he says, but he stops you.
He grabs your wrist, gently, and looks at you with eyes that beg; beg you not to leave him, and fix what’s “broken”.
“Stop running away”, he says annoyed , “Please.” , his voice filled with complaint and disappointment, his hand wrapped around your arm now, sending jolts down your body
“Alright.”, you sigh “Say whatever it is you want to say, and get this over with.”
“Is it that terrible for you, to be in the same room as me?”
“No, no it isn’t.”
“Then why do you keep avoiding me? Why are you running away?”, he says loudly, closing his eyes while his fingers pinch the bridge of his nose.
“Because…because you know why”
“Why did you leave that morning?”, he finally says
“I-“ you let out a tired laugh “I was scared of what you would do when you woke up and saw me, I was scared of the ending.”
“So you decided to end it yourself." he shakes his head annoyed and looks up before continuing "Don’t I get a say in this? Shouldn’t you have given me a choice first? Before blowing it all up?"
"Oh come on, what would have been different if I’d stayed? Would you have kissed me good morning and played with my hair? It would be awkward, more awkward than it is now.", you say, anger and poison coating your tongue
"You don’t know that. You don’t even know what I want, and you don’t care to know. You have made up this version of things in your head and are following it blindly. Without looking at what's infront of you!", he exclaims raising his hands in a defeated manner.
"What is there to see Theo? It’s ruined now, we can’t be friends, not like we were. And, frankly I don’t want to be your friend, I don’t want to be just your friend. So really what am I missing?”
He doesn’t give you time to process what he is about to do next. And he doesn’t give time to himself to kiss you properly. Your kiss is messy and it tells you everything he can’t put into words. His lips are angry and his mouth forces your lips to part, beautifully for him. His hands tug at your hips, marking you as his, possessively and longingly. And your hands land on his hair, tugging at the roots as he bites your lower lip.
“You are stubborn and an idiot.”, he says breathless
“I-“ you try to say but a kiss on your neck, that then turns into a soft kiss on your lips, interrupts you.
“Don’t ever run away like that, you can’t do that. You talk to me, or scream, but you don’t leave. Not like that.” he says looking in your eyes, his gaze more powerful than the Imperius Curse.
“Yes.”, you whisper and let him kiss you again.
“So what does this mean?”, you break the kiss to ask
“That I am inlove with you and I don’t want to just be your friend either.”, he says smirking
“Good.”, you grin and spread kisses along his jaw and neck
“Keep the shirt by the way, I like it on you.” he says sighing as you pull at his hair, to expose his neck.
And the next time you wake up, he is in your bed and you are in his arms, without the intention of ever running away.

W/C: 5.7k
Summary: They say if you want to get over one man, you have to get under another. Spencer isn't so sure why he dislikes the idea of you doing that quite so much.
Warnings: Mentions of Maeve, spoilers for S8, mentions of minor character deaths, smut, unprotected sex, creampie, angst.
A/N: I'm not going to apologise for this one... Have fun.
Find the rest of my masterlist here.
If you were a genius, you’d know that it took you three hours, twenty-three minutes, and six seconds to fall in love with Spencer Reid. If you were a genius, you’d also know that it took him five years, seven months, twenty-seven days, and two hours to the second for him to break your heart. The thing you were learning about geniuses though, is that they were the most oblivious people on the planet.
Her name was Maeve, he had told all of you. And he needed your help to save her because he was in love with her. And of course, you went along with it, you tried your best even while your heart was cracked in two because at this point, you couldn’t stand the desperation on his face. The day he told you about her, only days before he died, you cried in the arms of Penelope Garcia for hours, letting her console you as you felt your world get flipped upside down.
“I don’t know why I’m feeling like this, god, Penelope. Five years, and I knew, I knew that if he liked me like that something would have happened already, but I just…” She rubbed your back as you laid your head on her shoulder, letting your tears fall freely as the sobs wracked through your body.
“I’ve been in love with him for five years and he never even noticed, and… Penelope he hasn’t seen this girl before and he’s desperate for her. What about me is so unlovable?” Your voice cracked as you broke down again, burying your head in your friend's arms as you let all the emotions hit you at once.
“Y/N you listen to me right now. You are not unlovable, you have never been unlovable. If Spencer cannot see what is right in front of him, then he is an idiot. You are the most amazing thing that has happened to him, you’re a great friend, you’re smart, you’re beautiful-”
“I’m not her. Penelope, I… I want to be her-” She held you as you emptied yourself for hours, crying until you were so physically exhausted that you just couldn’t anymore. You couldn’t say that you stopped crying per se, just that your body ran out of emotions to sustain you.
“Okay, Y/N, here’s what you’re going to do now,” Penelope said. She’d heard you out for long enough, but she wasn’t going to let you be miserable for long.
“You’re going to pick yourself up, take care of yourself. Get a haircut, dye your hair, whatever you need to do to get some change. And then you’re going to do your goddamn best to forget him, because if he’s too stupid to realize how special and amazing you are then he really doesn’t deserve you.” You sniffled a bit and nodded at her words.
“And then, you’re going to get back out there. Y/N, when was the last time you went on a date?”
“I don’t know it’s been… The last one I can remember was before I entered the BAU. I’ve just been so busy-”
“Bullshit. You’re going to put yourself back out there and find a man, or multiple men, who actually value you and want you. A wise scholar once said the best way to get over a man is to get under another.”
–X–
A year later and you’d probably taken Penelope’s words to heart a little bit too much. Maeve had died at the hands of her stalker not even a day later, and you felt terrible for Spencer, but he’d pushed you away, he’d pushed everyone away, so you’d decided she was right.
Your first date had been a few weeks later, and you’d have liked the fact that you’d taken him back to your place and then immediately kicked him out and never seen him again after that to stay a secret. But the BAU copycat didn’t let any of your business stay within the team for long. He had pictures of you with the first guy, the guy from a week later, and the guy after him as well. By the time you’d figured out who the copycat murderer who’d sent you all Zugzwang-themed threats was, he’d got pictures of you locking lips with five separate one-night stands.
The team had said nothing about it, of course, except Hotch’s private aside asking if any of the men in the pictures needed informing about the situation. You’d had to admit to them that you’d not seen any of them since, and, with no reaction from Spencer, you’d felt almost vindicated in taking this step.
If he didn’t care then, in those tense months where you were all leaning on each other for support, reeling from the death of Erin Strauss and the attacks on the team, closer than you’d really ever been before, then he wouldn’t ever care.
The thought was freeing. So you’d kept up with your constant stream of men, not letting them get close enough to hurt you in the way that Spencer had, using them and discarding them like broken toys, ignoring that maybe it was you that was the broken one.
It took a year for him to notice it. A year of you coming in with suspicious bruises on your neck that you laughed off, a year of your newfound confidence, a year of your conscious distance for him to notice that he missed you. It was slow at first. In those first few months, he just accepted that of course, you’d been seeing people. He’d assumed from the photographs everyone had seen that you’d been dating the entire time he’d known you, the feeling unsettling him a little, but he thought that was only because he’d never noticed.
Now it was all he could notice. The way you’d walk in sometimes smelling unfamiliar, having showered at a hookup's place before taking off, the way you were suddenly open to the flirting by the local PDs on your cases. The way a sadness seeped into his chest every time he saw you with someone else. Envy wasn’t a feeling he was familiar with, so it took him stupidly long to name the emotion.
You were back at O’Keefe’s after a local case successfully closed, and if you were drinking a lot, no one mentioned it. No one except Spencer, who’d made it his objective to keep you safe and by his side the entire night, for reasons he couldn’t even name. It was stifling, having him constantly hovering over you.
“Spencer, lighten up a bit, have a drink.” You smiled up at him, trying to get him to loosen up so you could escape the way his sudden care was making you feel. The bartender was eyeing you up from his place behind the bar, and while you were usually careful not to get involved with men whom you’d likely run across again, you were throwing caution to the wind that day.
“I’ll have a drink if you drink some water and slow down a bit, Y/N.” He handed you the glass he’d retrieved earlier and you sipped it slowly, squirming under the care in his gaze. He ordered a drink, and you eyed up the bartender as he did so, pushing Spencer’s hand off your hip as he approached, offering him a smile. He looked between you and the unfamiliar man, and felt a cold flash in his veins, waiting for his drink and then pulling you away back to the table with the rest of your friends, tangling your hand with his.
You pulled out of his grip but followed him dutifully. He guided you into your seat quickly, brushing your hair out of your eyes before falling back into conversation with the rest of the team. You hated the way he could still make your heart stutter, still have you feeling hot all over from a single touch, and you felt trapped in the booth, screaming for a way out.
Your chance came an hour later, when he excused himself to the bathroom, and you excused yourself as well, running back up to the bar. When he came back, you were gone.
“Where is Y/N?” He asked with a scowl, cursing himself for letting his eyes off you for even a second when you’d drank so much that night, having come back to suggest you turn in for the night, getting ready to offer you a ride home.
“Y/N? By now, she’s either in the back room with the bartender or she’s convinced him to get off early and head back to hers,” Morgan chuckled, taking a swig of his drink. “Took her only two minutes of conversation to have him inviting her out the back entrance, she’s been gone for like five minutes now.
The constricted feeling settled in his chest again, as his scowl deepened. Not knowing why he was feeling so goddamn destroyed by that statement, he let his head hang and left the bar himself, taking himself outside to get in his car and go home. Unbeknownst to him, you watched him leave from the alley behind the bar, the bartender placing open-mouthed kisses on your exposed neck as you buried your worryingly consistent feelings in the scent of bourbon and lust.
The next week is rough for both of you. You laugh and play along with Morgan’s jokes about your game, keeping an eye out for him the entire time and ending all the conversations as you feel him enter the room or step closer. It doesn’t stop him from hearing it all, though, all the details about your sex life tormenting him, as he boils with anger at how wreckless you’re being with your constant stream of guys.
“Mama, you were on fire last week. Took you only two minutes to disappear with that guy, you’re going to have to let me in on your secrets,” Morgan laughed from his perch on your desk.
“Sorry, a magician never reveals her secrets, and what I do is definitely magic.” Your tone was suggestive and set the man off in a booming laugh, but with your back to the door, you hadn’t heard Spencer’s entrance.
“The secret is that men are more accepting of casual hook-ups with strangers than women,” he snapped at you both, beginning to ramble as you both looked up at him in shock.
“Okay, kid, I was just joking-”
“When surveyed over 75% of men said they would be willing to have sex with a complete stranger, vs. 0% of women, and while that’s just one study, there are multiple others that I could quote that have similar results.”
“Spencer,” you chastised him, but he didn’t stop.
“What? Did you want to know when posing the question of an affair to people in a relationship that 18% of men reacted positively to having casual sex with a stranger, and surprisingly 4% of women also reacted in the affirmative? Did you ask that guy if he had a girlfriend before you fell into his bed, Y/N?”
“Okay, that’s enough, Spencer, take a walk. I don’t know what’s up with you today, but that was out of line. Hotch is looking for you in his office.” The words came from Morgan, but he kept his eyes locked with yours as he was scolded, memorizing the look of pain in your eyes as he finally backed away.
He didn’t know why he did it. He knew it would hurt you, and yet he continued anyway, even after you’d begged him to stop. He was hurt, and he didn’t know why, and he didn’t think he had any reason to be hurt, and somehow it was all because you’d been in the back of his mind constantly for as long as he could remember.
–X–
“Okay, girl’s night, my place, tomorrow night. There are no cases, and I managed to get Hotch to agree to let us put our phones on silent for the night, so it’s just me, you, JJ, and Blake, a bottle of wine and some good old-fashioned girl talk, what do you say?” Penelope asked you gleefully in the break room one day as you both prepared your drinks for a busy day of paperwork ahead.
“I’m sorry, Pen, I have plans already.” You grinned up at her as she pouted, promising to make it up to her another time. You didn’t offer an explanation though, just excusing yourself back to your desk and letting her know that you’d make it up to her another time.
Reid took your place as soon as you vacated it. Almost obsessively, he’d been following you around like a lost puppy since he’d exploded on you the other day.
“I know you said girls’ night but… Could... Could I come? I think I need some uh, girl talk?” He asked Penelope, an awkward, embarrassed look on his face as he smiled tensely. If anyone knew what was wrong with him, recently, it would be them.
Last year, he’d have said it was you, but the distance he’d felt recently, combined with the fact that he was almost 90% sure you were the root of his problems had him desperate for other opinions.
“Oh. Are you sure, Spencer, we’ll be talking about all kinds of gross women stuff?”
“I was raised by a single mother. I’m sure nothing you say could gross me out. Please?” She nodded her approval telling him what time to get there and to bring his beverage of choice, knowing he didn’t really drink wine all that much if he could help it.
He turned up twenty minutes late, after spending a great deal of time pacing outside of Penelope’s apartment building wondering if he had any right to unburden himself on them like this. Pacing he wondered whether you’d actually showed up despite your mysterious plans and whether this had been all for naught anyway.
When he eventually knocked on the door, Penelope opened it and greeted him with a warm hug. “We were wondering when you were going to knock on the door, one more minute and we were going to come out to get you.”
JJ stood up to hug him, wine glass in her hand, and Blake offered him a wave from her perch on the couch. He took off his scarf and coat and accepted the glass of water Penelope offered him, settling into a chair opposite the three women.
“Penelope said you wanted advice about something?” Blake was the first to enquire, the three of them getting straight into it, not letting him chicken out of it.
“Yeah, I think so. Lately, I’ve been having these, I don’t know, weird feelings…”
“Oh god, I thought I was a few years out from having the talk with someone,” JJ joked, but Penelope shushed her quickly after a quick snicker, letting him continue.
“I’ve been… I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I’ve been acting really weird around Y/N, and I can’t figure out why.” He finally pushed the words out, feeling a weight off his chest at the confession.
“You can’t?” The room was silent for a minute as they looked at each other, and he looked at them looking at each other, wondering what it was exactly that he’d missed.
“Yeah? I don’t know, every time I see her I just want to, I don’t know, have her attention on me, even if I have to say something a little mean to get it. And in the bar that time, I was so, I don’t know hurt, I guess, when she disappeared without saying goodbye.”
They just listened to him go on, not stopping to interrupt him, so he continued.
“And there’s been this weird distance between us lately, and I guess it’s been there for a while, but I miss her, but she’s still there. I can still talk to her, and I can still spend time with her but I miss her all the time.”
“Spencer,” Blake said with a soft voice. “Since when have you been feeling like this?”
“I don’t know, I guess it started after everything happened with Strauss and the copycat in New York. But she’s always been… I don’t know, closer than most people? But every time I think we’re getting back to normal recently, she pulls away again and there’s this… void where she should be.”
JJ put her drink down and leaned a little closer to him, putting a hand on his shoulder.
“Spencer, I think you might be in love with her.” He considered the words for a moment, before getting ready to dismiss them.
“No, love is a good emotion, this doesn’t feel good, it feels… ugly.” Blake stared at him sympathetically, calmly talking him around.
“Spencer, think about it. You’re protective over her, you don’t like seeing her with other people, this all started right around the time the copycat sent those pictures of her with other people. It is love, and it’s jealousy, too.”
The words hit him like a tonne of bricks as he suddenly felt the full force of his words. He was in love with you.
“Oh god, what do I do?” He held his head in his hands, and Penelope scoffed a little from her seat, the rest of them turning to look at him.
“I’m sorry, you’re going to have to figure this one out on your own genius.” She said with a slightly sharp tone, and even the girls sent her questioning stares as she continued.
“You don’t just get to decide that you want her after all this time, not after how you’ve been treating her these last few months.” She turns her head away a little bit and sips her drink, her tough-love approach leaving him slightly defeated.
“Penelope, do you know something?” Blake asks firmly, trying to coax some answers out of her.
“If I did, I’d be under a strict oath not to tell anyone. And I wouldn’t want to considering how much pain she was in when she made me swear never to tell anyone.” It was clear from the tone of her voice that she really wanted to say something though, the words desperate to spill out.
“Penelope, your loyalty is commendable, but don’t you think what you have to say could help both of them?” JJ quietly coaxed out of her, and she finally gave in.
“Okay, but if you hurt her, Spencer Reid, I will never forgive you ever again.” He nodded quickly, hanging onto her every word.
“Think about what else happened a year ago.” She encouraged him, and for a moment, he was coming up blank.
“A year ago? We were in the middle of the copycat case. Strauss had just been killed. We were close to being pulled off the case-”
“You got a girlfriend, Spencer. You came in one day out of the blue and just announced that you were in love with someone you hadn’t met, and you didn’t realize that you were torturing her.” Penelope tried really hard not to snap at him, but his ignorance of your feelings was frustrating, to say the least.
“What Penelope is trying to say, Spencer, is that we think Y/N was in love with you, too,” JJ added, softening the blow. “And finding out you didn’t feel the same way so suddenly was, well it was a shock to all of us really.”
“What Penelope is trying to say is that she spent six hours with me crying into this couch, and then picked herself up and helped you try to save the woman you had chosen over her. So yeah, she’s been a bit distant, but can you really blame her?”
“She… She was in love with me?” His heart stopped for a second, dropping to the pit of his stomach as he thought back to those days, how you’d acted around him, the smiles that hadn’t reached your eyes, the reassurances that he’d brushed off, so desperate to help Maeve.
“Honestly, until you told us about Maeve, I thought you two had something going on,” Blake added.
“We used to have an office bet when Emily was around about which of the two of you would confess first,” JJ admitted shyly.
“Oh, god.” He let his head hang a little in shame. “Do you… do you think she still feels the same?”
They shared another glance at each other again, and he panicked trying desperately to decode whatever it was that had just passed between them.
“Look, we shouldn’t profile each other but… It’s not a coincidence that all of her hookups tend to happen after you pay her some attention.” Blake observed, letting Reid fill in the blanks of her statement.
“That might be my fault actually, I told her the best way to get over you is to get under someone else.”
“I don’t want her under someone else,” he stated then, cutting himself off before he could say anything else too damning.
“She’s not here tonight, why isn’t she here?” He panicked looking frantically around the room for answers, but none of them knew really.
“She said she had plans, but she didn’t tell me what they are.”
“Do you think she’s… do you think she’s with…” He couldn’t finish the thought, instead bolting upright and gathering his things.
“I need to go.” He let out, as the women cheered behind him, finally happy that he was taking action. Penelope shouted your address at him as he left as if he didn’t already have it memorized, running out in the rain, his feet carrying him to your apartment.
He saw the light on when he approached, thankful that you were still there, and bounded up the stairs to your floor, not giving himself time to second guess this before he pounded on your door.
You pulled the door open, a confused look on your face as you greeted him, his chest heaving, water dripping down his face. He looked like a mess.
“Are you alone?” He gasped out, having to pause between each word to catch his breath.
“Spencer, what are you doing-” The breath left your body as he leaned into you, catching you around the hips and walking you back into your apartment, your back hitting the wall behind you as he rested his forehead against your own, chest still desperately drawing in oxygen.
“Please, please tell me right now if there’s someone here with you. If there is, I’ll leave, if there isn’t…” His gaze fell to your lips and your entire body lit up, the haze of your confusion finally lifting as you took in each of his words. His lips moved forward, seconds from connecting with your own when his question was finally answered.
“Y/N? Who is it?” The voice was male, and it was coming from your living room, but it was all Spencer needed to know as he detangled himself from you, pushing his wet hair out of his face and putting some distance between you two, muttering apologies as he backed out of the door again.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t… I’m sorry,” he said, quickly turning away from you and leaving your apartment quickly.
“Spencer, wait-” You tried to yell after him, but it was too late. He had disappeared into the night, as quickly as he came.
You returned to the living room, cursing yourself for not answering quickly enough as you crawled back into the seat you’d just left.
“What was all that?” Your brother asked from his perch, shoveling popcorn into his mouth in a way that had you somehow even more pissed at him for the simple fact of his existence.
“That was Spencer. He… God, I think he thinks I’m in here with a guy.”
–X–
The next few days at work were tense, as you desperately tried everything to catch his eye. But you weren’t sure why you were putting in so much effort. He was the one who had burst into your apartment and practically begged you for your attention, why were you now the one chasing him?
Needless to say, you took your frustrations straight to Penelope Monday morning.
“And then he left without letting me explain that it was my brother, and he hasn’t talked to me once this morning, he keeps running away from me and I don’t even know what the fuck it was he was trying to gain from all that and- ughh he is so dense.”
Penelope had sensed the oncoming disaster the moment she’d seen your social media post about your brother’s visit Saturday morning, and you only confirmed all her fears as you unloaded onto her. She silently cursed Spencer as well, and once she’d given you some reassurance and reminded you that you had some case files on your desk that were urgent and distracting enough to calm you down, she practically lept from her seat to hunt Reid down.
“Spencer Reid, you get your ass in my office right this second,” she whisper screamed at him in the breakroom, his sunken eyes showing that his jump to conclusions had left him in a poor emotional state. He jolted at her words, as she watched to see if you noticed the two of them before practically frog-marching him off down the hall.
“What the hell happened? We sent you off to confess your feelings, and you what? Pin her to the wall and breathe down her neck before running off with your tail between your legs?”
He looked down guiltily before replying. “She had a guy there, Penelope, I didn’t want to… I didn’t want to get rejected like that.”
“She did not have a guy there, Spencer, she had her brother there.” She pulled up your post on her phone and thrust it in his face as she watched his eyes go wide at his own stupidity, clutching the phone as he read your words.
“And if you weren’t a coward, you’d have stayed and told her even if she did actually have someone over.”
He’d since tuned out her words though, the crushing weight of his almost-confession that had been stuck to him since the weekend dissipating slowly.
“This is her brother?” He looked up at you again, desperate to confirm the words she’d already said.
“Yes. You’d know that if you weren’t such a technophobic freak. I love you but this is the 21st Century and you’re an idiot.”
“Yeah, I am.” He handed her the phone back and slunk out of the office, and back to his desk. He had a chance to try again, and he wasn’t going to fuck it up this time.
–X–
You didn’t know how you knew that night, but when you heard the knock at your door, you knew it was him.
You hesitated before reaching for the door handle, pulling it open, and confirming your suspicions.
“Hi.” You said, and he returned the greeting with a mumble of his own before the two of you fell into silence again. He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something else, but couldn’t, instead letting his gaze fall to your lips. You heard the hidden question in his look and opened the door a little wider.
It took only a moment for him to come crashing into you, hands holding your face as his lips met yours in a passionate embrace, drinking you in as again walked you back into your apartment, not even breaking away as he closed the door behind you.
You wrapped your arms up and around his neck, as you let his hands fall to your hips, your chest, your ass, exploring every part of your body he could reach as you stood caught up in each other. In your desperation for each other, you hit walls, and bumped into tables, finally stopping at your kitchen island as he lifted you up, wrapping your legs around his waist as he started pressing kisses down the hollow of your neck.
“I’m sorry,” he muttered between kisses. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know it was your brother and I’m sorry I didn’t come sooner, and I’m sorry I’ve been so weird recently.” You pulled his face back up to your own claiming his lips in yours once again, swallowing each of his other apologies.
He pulled away again, looking at you tenderly as he lifted you into his arms and gently carried you into your room, laying you down on your bed.
“I love you,” he whispered, and the words broke you. You’d spent five years practically begging him to say them, and another year since trying to bury even the very idea of him feeling the same way deep inside you. Tears fell from your eyes and he kissed each one of them away, muttering confessions into your skin.
“I love you, please don’t cry.”
“I love you, you’re so beautiful.”
“I love you and I’m so so sorry.” You pushed him away again slightly, regaining enough of your composure to finally talk again.
“I need to know that you’re serious, Spencer. I can’t… I can’t do this if you’re not totally sure, because it will destroy me.” Your voice broke as the words stumbled over the knot in your throat, your hands balled into his shirt, legs still wrapped around him.
“I’m serious. I don’t want to hurt you ever again.” He pressed his lips back into yours again, and you let the kiss deepen, lips slanting over each other in desperation as the need to be joined overtook your body.
He lifted your skirt, trailing a hand between the two of you as he checked your arousal. You could feel his cock pressing into your thigh, desperate to be freed from it’s restraints. He began kissing his way down your naval, but you pulled him back up.
“No, I need you now. There will be time for that later, but if you don’t do this now I think I’ll drive myself mad with wanting.” His lips reconnected with yours again as you began divesting yourselves of clothing, and within another two minutes, he was pressing into you, muttering more adoring serenades into your skin as he began catching the tears escaping your eyes again.
“Yes, Spencer, more please,” you moaned underneath him, legs tight around him as he began thrusting into you with a ferocity you hadn’t felt from him before. It was tender, but you were both desperate, after months of separation, to come back into one another.
Your lips and teeth clashed together as you let the room echo with your moans, his moans, and the sound of your skin slapping against each other. His forehead came to rest against your own as he grew closer to his release, lips disconnecting as you just stared into each other's eyes in that moment, seeing each other truly for the very first time.
“Y/N, I’m gonna… I’m gonna cum.” He pressed down into you harder, looking down to the place where you were joined and letting out a whispered curse as he watched you take every inch of him. His hips stuttered then, and you felt your own climax reach you as you felt him release into you, his lips softly tracing your own as you breathed each other in again.
He pulled out and immediately went to work making sure you were comfortable, propping you up on the bed, making sure the pillows behind you were plump and soft, and running off to find something to clean yourself up with. You watched him silently, again brushing some of the tears from your eyes.
“How do you feel?” He said shyly as he returned, having pulled his pants back on at least as he bought you a glass of water. You offered him a small smile and a thank you as you replied.
“I think… I think we need to talk, Spencer.” You said, not meeting his eyes as he looked down at you attentively.
“Why did you come tonight, Spencer?” You asked, voice so quiet you resisted the urge to repeat the question, knowing that he heard you perfectly clearly,
“I needed to tell you how I feel. It’s been staring me in the face for six years, and I somehow didn’t know, but once I did I just… I needed you to know.” You nodded at his words, standing still in front of you on the bed as you swung your legs off and asked him to pass you your nightdress back. You pulled it on over your head as you asked him your next question.
“Why did you run away the other day?”
“I didn’t know it was your brother, Y/N, I should’ve-”
“It shouldn’t have mattered who it was. If you love me, you should fight for me, right? The way you fought for Maeve.” Your tears start falling again as you open the wound that brought you this far.
“Y/N, that was… That was different-” You can hear the panic in his voice as he tries to come up with the words to explain himself.
“Spencer, if.. If it’s different then I think you should leave. If you don’t love me the same way you loved her, then there’s no point starting something.”
“Y/N, please.”
“No, Spencer. I have spent six years of my life filled with nothing but love for you. I wake up and think about you, I go to bed and you’re still there in the back of my mind. My every action is informed by your presence and I am so, so tired. So if you do not feel the same way, you need to turn around and leave this apartment.”
The silence between you is thick, as you stare up at him through your tears, face stern as you push him away.
He gathers his things. Moves towards the door and doesn’t say anything, and just as you’re about to break down, to let the sob burst from your chest in an agonized wail, you hear your front door close behind him, and you’re left alone in the empty apartment, stuck in the purgatory of your love for him, unable to move an inch.

You're...Dating Them?
♡♡-Request: Neuvillette/Furina has a secret lover. They get put on trial for murder. Their only alibi? A date they went on with them. Chaos ensues.
Content: chaos, angst sorta, its just pure shenanigans.
Tumblr media
Neuvillette
This couldn't be happening again. Neuvillette sat, unmoved in his seat. Eyes casting a glance over at you every so often. You'd been put on trial. For murder.
It was difficult for him to stay professional, surprisingly. Well, it wouldn't be if everyone knew that you two were a couple. But they didn't. Per his request, one of his attempts at keeping you safe. He didn't want others to know how close you were. Someone may take advantage and use you as leverage, or worse; hurt you. He didn't want to lose you and yet, here you were. Fear written on your face as you stood trial.
"Has the defendant prepared an alibi?" His voice wavered slightly, especially with those tearful eyes you aimed at him.
"I…I was out with someone." You said softly and only then, did it register.
He'd been so consumed with the fact you'd been accused. That there was possibly a chance you could be sentenced, that he forgot he was with you at the time. On a date. Hands interlocked as you both walked down a secluded beach. He had the very alibi that you needed, he could prove your innocence. But he could also create future issues for you. Neuvillette looked at you again. You had kept the secret, even though all of this was on the line.
He couldn't take it. Neuvillette stood, smacking his cane against the ground when the audience had gotten a bit rowdy from his silence. Then he looked at you, eyes conveying that you could say it.
"I was…with Monsieur Neuvillette."
The crowd erupted into gasps and shrills. They simply couldn't believe it. And it seems that his secret love was not so secret anymore.
Tumblr media
Furina
To say you were confused would be an understatement. Especially since it was your lover who'd put you on trial. You weren't sure what kind of shenanigans she was up to, but you stood with your arms crossed. Waiting for her to explain why she thought you murdered someone.
"As you can see, the evidence is right there in plain sight!" She waved her hand dramatically.
"The defendant is obviously guilty," a smirk was etched onto her face and all you could do was roll your eyes. Was she serious? You'd probably be more upset if this wasn't the norm for you. And your relationship. Even if it was a secret, her dramatics knew no bounds. It's most likely someone told her you'd done it and being her, she took it at face value. Even if on that evening, you were with her.
"Do you have anything to say to refute her claims?" Neuvillette asked, clearly exasperated with her antics as well.
You crossed your arms. "The only thing I have to say is, I was with my lover at the time." Your brow raised as you watched the wheels in her head turn. Rather slowly but they did nonetheless. She cleared her throat immediately, "Right…a lover, your lover…me." She said a little too loudly, causing everyone in the courtroom to hear her. The crowd erupted and Neuvillette had to bang his cane against the ground.
"Order! Order!"
"Oh, would you look at that, I think it's time for me to exit stage left, Toodles!"

Enchanted wings.
james potter x reader (oneshot)
Tumblr media
James didn’t know what hit him.
Well, he did actually. It was the bludger that he did not see coming because he was too busy staring at Y/N.
James felt himself slipping off his broom from the sheer force of the bludger, causing everyone watching to gasp in despair, except the Slytherins which they were playing against, they were probably reveling in the way that he was desperately trying to get back on his broom, slipping inch by inch. He looked at the ground in panic. A fall from this height would earn him some broken bones and maybe a whole season without quidditch.
Y/N was watching from the stands of Griffyndor, she had always been a fan of Quidditch since she used to watch it with her family all the time. But since 5th year her interest has been even more piqued because of a certain chaser.
James Potter, the mischievous but golden boy of Gryffindor, always hanging out with his little group, the Marauders. She had started noticing him in 5th grade, she was trying to get her book back from an annoying slytherin boy, until James Potter walked by.
“Hey, leave her alone.” He said, closing in on the boy's face and taking the book from his grasp. James towered over the smaller boy as he ran away. He turned around
“Here!” He had such a cute smile…
Y/N felt a blush rise to her cheeks, she grabbed the book and starting to walk back to class when James grabbed her wrist
“Hey, sorry, I didn’t catch your name? I’m James. James Potter.” Y/N paused surprised,
“Oh, uh. I’m Y/N L/N. And thank you, I didn’t mean to be rude but I’m really late for class.”
“Oh? What have you got right now?” And oh, that smirk.
“Transfiguration, have you got that as well? I noticed you were walking that way?”
“Yeah, I was headed there, but now that you’re here might as well give me some company, don’t you think?” He chuckled, and Y/N nodded as they began walking to class.
And that was that, they formed a kind friendship where Y/N she wanted something more, but she valued her friendship too much to have the possibility to ruin it.
“JAMES!” Y/N shouted from the stands, time seemed to slow down for her as she watched him fall, though on the last second she was brought back to her senses as she cast a levitating spell at his robes hoping that it would break his fall. It worked for a bit but then she heard a sickening crush as James collided with the ground.
“Oh my god…” She ran to the field and saw a crowd of team members surrounding him, she burst through it and saw him with his eyes closed groaning in pain. Y/N kneeled by him and took his face in her hands “James?”
“...Darling?” One of his eyes fluttered open and those gorgeous brown eyes stared back at her
“Yes, it’s me… We’re going to take you to Madam Pomfrey, ok?” She said looking at someone behind her silently asking someone to call the nurse.
“Yeah, I think I need her… ow.” He says trying to sit up
“Lay back down!” She said gently placing him back
The first thing James saw when he woke up was the distinct ceiling of the hospital wing, he felt like he was trampled by a Hippogriff, his left arm was constricted in a cast and he felt some bandages in his legs, but what was weird was the pressure in his right hand, though as he turned to look, what he saw was Y/N napping on his arm.
That did not look comfortable. At all…
“Hey sweetheart.” He whispered gently “Had a good nap?” He grinned
“James! You’re awake!” She says, still rubbing the sleep from her eyes “What happened out there?! I’ve never seen you so distracted in the field before…” She questioned. His eyes softened
“Y/N,” James began, his voice soft yet filled with sincerity, “I need to tell you something. Something I should've said a long time ago.”
He gently lifted her hand from where it rested on his chest, his eyes never leaving hers. “I was distracted out there because of you, I love you, Y/N. You're more than just a friend to me. You're everything.”
He paused, waiting for her reaction, hoping that she felt the same way. “I know I've been a fool for not saying it sooner. Please, tell me you feel it too.”
Y/N's heart swelled with emotion at James's confession. She felt a rush of joy and relief flood through her veins “James,” she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. “I... I love you too. More than you could ever know.” She reached out to cup his cheek tenderly, her fingers tracing the lines of his face as if she couldn't quite believe he was real. “Can I kiss you?”
“You don’t even have to ask.” He smiled as they shared their first kiss.

This is me trying
Tumblr media
pairing: joel miller x f!reader
summary: joel hated you. he hated the risks you took, the danger you put yourself in, the total lack of value you had for your own life. he hated how much he worried about you. click here for part two.
warnings: detailed depictions of depression, heavily implied suicidal ideation, slight violence, angst with a sprinkle of fluff, no explicit smut but it does get very suggestive (minors do not interact), minor character death, enemies to lovers, poor communication, misunderstandings, these fools don’t know how to act, joel is an asshole but then he’s sweet, brief mention of drug use, lots of swearing, age gap (unspecified), no use of y/n, boston era/ellie era.
word count: 2.6k
a/n: hey y’all. i just wanted to thank everyone who supported my last story rosebud (here’s a link if you want to read it). this story is a lot different and a lot sadder. i got the title from my favourite pop girlie taylor alison swift.
Tumblr media
Joel hated you. It had to be his worst kept secret.
You hadn’t done anything to him. You used to think about it constantly, desperate to know what his reason was for despising you like he did, but you eventually accepted that he didn’t need a reason. He just didn’t like you.
Joel wasn’t particularly likeable himself. He was rude and intimidating and one of the most morally bankrupt people you’d ever met, but you didn’t hate him the way he hated you. You were Tess’s lackey—Joel tolerated you, and you supposed he wasn’t obligated to do any more than that. Although, he didn’t do it very well.
You’d existed in each other’s orbit in the QZ for a while, and finally met one night in the boarded-up old mall when you’d gotten to a stash of painkillers just before them. Joel wouldn’t have hesitated to shoot you between the eyes if Tess hadn’t been there.
Tess saw something in you—not a friend, not a life worth sparing by virtue of humanity; a business investment.
And it was a smart investment. You were young, agile and clever, incredible at slipping by unnoticed and gathering information. You knew all the best routes, the best times to take them, and you could swindle anyone out of their rations just by batting your eyelashes. You were willing to take the lead, to be the first one in and out to make sure the coast was clear.
It wasn’t the threat of death or the promise of mercy that made you join them—it was the sense of purpose it gave you.
Joel was adamantly against it. Things worked fine the way they did them, and he saw no reason to add another person into it.
“Don’t need to fix something that ain’t broken,” was how he’d put it.
You didn’t dispute that. Joel and Tess had survived for years, and they were clearly more than capable of getting the job done, but what you lacked in experience, you made up for in stealth and speed—something their aging knees struggled with.
Tess convinced Joel, which you soon found out she was very good at. You also found out that his compliance didn’t mean hiding his resentment.
He thought you were a careless, impulsive loose cannon, and he’d told you so after a particularly dicey deal with a particularly dicey FEDRA agent.
“You’re gonna get yourself killed one of these days.” He followed you into your apartment uninvited. Tess made him walk you home, and you were sure he only did it because he wanted to berate you.
“Why do you care?” you asked, tossing your keys onto the counter. They slid off and hit the floor.
“You’re with us,” Joel replied. “You'll get us killed.”
You scoffed and rolled your eyes—you knew that infuriated him. “Am I on crack or have you not doubled your profits since I showed up?”
“I think you’re dangerous,” Joel said, ignoring you. “Always sneakin’ around, goin’ places you shouldn’t, playin’ mind games with FEDRA. Your luck’s gonna run out sooner or later, and I just hope I’m not around when it does.”
Your face burned with red-hot anger as you tried to fight the stinging in your eyes and the blurring of your vision, but you were too far gone. The tears fell, and they were ceaseless. You felt pathetic, but you knew this would happen. You didn’t often cry from sadness or pain, but anger always managed to bring it out in you.
“Who the fuck are you to tell me that?” you hissed. “You’re saying you don’t sneak around? You’ve never scammed anyone? You’re a smuggler, Joel! Be fucking real with me.”
“It’s different,” he said, clenching his jaw.
“Why, because you’re older? Because you have more experience?”
“‘Cause I don’t think I’m fuckin’ special.”
If his words were the dagger, the pure contempt in his tone was what plunged it into your stomach, twisted it, and left a gaping hole for all of your despair to come pouring out of, leaving behind a puddle of melancholia for him to gaze at in all its miserable glory.
It was the only time you might have hated Joel as much as he hated you. Working with him and Tess wasn’t perfect, but it was all you had, and now he’d managed to make it all meaningless. Your help wasn’t helping.
“Fuck you, Joel,” you spat.
You should have quit then, and you thought about it. After pounding your fists into Joel’s chest and screaming at him to get the fuck out of your apartment, you sunk down onto the floor and cried. You cried until you ran out of tears and were left with a nothing but a throbbing headache. You took a pill, passed out, and woke up to you discover that you’d lost the energy to really care about any of it.
You didn’t quit. If anything, you became even more audacious, but you never confused it with courage or bravery. Bravery was perseverance in the face of terror. Joel and Tess were brave. You weren’t like them.
Joel laid off after that. He wasn’t anything close to nice, but whatever animosity he held towards you was only ever expressed as quiet seething, and you could live with that.
Any fulfilment you got out of working with Joel and Tess dissolved, but for what it was, it still worked.
Until it didn’t.
Tess was dead. The buffer between you and Joel was gone, and you had no choice but to work together and get the immune girl to Colorado.
You wondered if there was a silver-lining in this wreckage. You thought that circumstance might force Joel to finally get along with you, and so you did the one thing you never did—you tried. You tried to help him, tried to speak to him like he was someone you actually wanted to speak to, tried to rein in some of your more annoying traits so you wouldn’t get on his nerves.
None of it worked. All you could get out of Joel seemed to be irritated mumbles and blank stares, and you couldn’t even blame him after what happened to Tess.
You never really knew if Tess actually gave a shit about you, or if she only ever cared about having an extra pair of hands around. Either way, you cared about her.
So, once again, you tried. When Joel and Ellie were sleeping—or at least pretending to—you walked down to the stream and tried to cry for her, but you couldn’t muster the tears. You even tried to get angry, mentally cuss her out for leaving you behind, but your eyes were dry.
You stared into the water, gazing at the way it sparkled in the starlight, and thought that the world didn’t deserve such a pretty sight. You couldn’t cry, but a deep sadness overtook you, weighing you down like lead.
Tumblr media
Joel didn’t hate you.
He just hated how impulsive and reckless you were. He hated that you were smart, intuitive, and so maddeningly beautiful. He hated the risks you took, the danger you put yourself in, the total lack of value you had for your own life. He hated how much he worried about you.
There was a time he had disliked you. He used to think it was arrogance—that you truly believed you were so special that you could get away with anything. It was when he called you out on it that he realised how wrong he was.
Your reaction was frightening. You cried and screamed at him, pushed him out of your space. He didn’t know you were capable of such a strong display of emotion, but he’d struck a nerve, and those were the repercussions.
He recalled how the blows to his chest didn’t hurt, like there was no force behind them. You weren’t weak at all, you just couldn’t find the willpower to really hurt him. He wished you had hurt him. Maybe getting it out of your system would have helped. Maybe he wouldn’t have had to feel so guilty.
It became so obvious to him what was happening, and he felt like an idiot for not understanding it sooner. It wasn’t that you thought you were special, or immune to the consequences—you just didn’t care what happened to you.
Now Tess was gone, and he had this horrible feeling that he was going to lose you too.
His way of dealing with it was to push you away even more. He told himself it would make things easier when you inevitably left him.
Things came to a head one night after the three of you left Lincoln. Joel had been driving all day, and he would be doing it again the next day. He was in desperate need of sleep, but as he stared out into the eerie darkness of the woods, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something terrible would happen if he didn’t stay awake.
He heard the rustling of a sleeping bag sometime after midnight. He thought it was you just rolling over in your sleep—something you often did—but then he heard the faint sound of dead leaves crunching under feet, and you were by his side a moment later.
“What are you doing, Joel?” you asked in a soft, sleepy voice that made his chest ache.
“Keepin’ watch,” he replied bluntly.
“But you’re driving tomorrow,” you said. “You need sleep.”
“I’m fine.”
“I’ve slept, so I can take over,” you offered.
“I just told you I’m fine.”
“I’m just trying to help—”
“I don’t need your fucking help.”
You backed off, hanging your head in shame, and he instantly felt horrible—you were being nice to him and he was still being a complete asshole.
Joel tried to tear his gaze away from you. He wanted to pretend this wasn’t happening, that he hadn’t just done that, but his eyes stayed on you. He watched the shame dissolve and replace itself with indignation. You pulled your head up and glared at him with a fire in your eyes that threatened to burn right through him.
“I get it, okay? I’m sorry.”
“What are you talkin’ about?”
“I never meant for you to get stuck with me. I know it’s your worst fucking nightmare. If I could switch places with Tess—“
“Stop.” He wouldn’t hear that. He couldn’t. It would kill him. “That’s not—I’m not thinkin’ that. I’m glad you’re here, understand? I need you with me.”
You let out a bitter laugh. The sound hit his ears like a gunshot. “You just told me you didn’t. All you’ve done—all you’ve ever done—is act like I’m a fucking waste of space.”
Joel’s mouth when dry, his heart dropped to his stomach, and he thought he might vomit. It shouldn’t have shocked him like it did, but hearing you say it made him sick. He put the gun he’d been clutching down on the ground, disarming himself in more ways than one. “I don’t think that…I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I just—fuck—I don’t know. I don’t know anything. Are you gonna leave?”
“Leave this mission or this mortal coil?"
“Either, I guess.”
“Do you want me to leave?” Your voice was just a whisper, and it felt like you were ripping Joel’s heart out and crushing it in your hands.
Fuck no, he didn’t want you to leave, and that was what scared him the most; feeling attached to someone so detached (and yes, he was a hypocrite). He wouldn’t be able to take it if he woke up one day and you were gone.
But he couldn’t keep doing this to you. It was selfish and cowardly and it just made everything worse. He made everything worse.
“I can’t do this without you,” he told you. He hadn’t known how true it was until he said it.
“Okay.”
“I’m serious.” He felt suddenly impassioned. “You can’t…if you…just don’t. Promise me you won’t.” He couldn’t say it, couldn’t let the words out of his mouth and into the universe. You both knew what he meant.
“I promise,” you said. You sounded oddly tranquil, but Joel was destroyed, even though he knew he didn’t have the right to be—this was entirely his fault.
“Can you let me keep watch so you can get some sleep?” you asked again.
He shook his head.
“Why not?”
“Just need to know where you are.”
You stared at him, eyes wide and glossy, and for a second he thought you might start crying. Before he could think of something to do or say, your hands were on either side of his face, pulling him down into an urgent kiss.
He didn’t know what was happening, what you were thinking, or what he was thinking, but it didn’t matter, he just knew he needed to kiss you back. One of his hands found your waist while the other splayed out across your back, pulling you flush against him.
It was nowhere near sweet. It was intense and unyielding—a frantic clashing of teeth and bruising of lips. It was intoxicating, earth-shattering, but felt so right, like it was always meant to happen—or needed to happen.
Your arms wrapped around his neck, somehow bringing him impossibly closer to you. You hiked a leg up around his hip and tugged his pelvis forward. He ran a hand down from your waist, brushing it over your ass and gripping your thigh.
You rolled your hips into his, eliciting a deep, involuntary groan from him. He was painfully hard. He knew he would regret this, but he set your leg down and managed to tear his mouth away from yours.
He missed the feeling immediately, and he didn’t have the self-control to pull away completely. His hands were still on you, pressing you against him. You looked so pretty and ruined gazing back at him; breathless and flustered with pink, swollen lips.
Tumblr media
Fuck.
You had just kissed Joel Miller, the man you hated.
You didn’t hate him.
You kissed the man who hated you.
He didn’t hate you.
You kissed the only person you had left. You kissed him even though it made no sense. You kissed him because you wanted to.
You started it, but then he stopped it. His eyes were dark, his face was flushed, and the bulge in his jeans was not going away. He looked like he was in pain, struggling with his own conscience.
“Sorry,” you whispered.
“Don’t be sorry.” He grinned softly and reached a hand up to tangle in your hair. It was an unexpectedly sweet gesture. “I liked it.”
Your heart melted. He was so lovely, so dear. You never imagined in your wildest dreams that Joel Miller could be like this.
“Just don’t wanna take advantage,” he said.
“You’re not. I kissed you,” you reminded him.
“I know, but you're upset, and you don’t like me much, and you’re tired. Don’t want you doing anything you don’t actually wanna do.”
You did want it, but you were also overwhelmed and exhausted, and more importantly, it would have been a majorly fucked up thing to do with a 14 year old sleeping 20 feet away.
“But if you still want it later”—he gave you another chaste kiss—“you can have it.”
You giggled, kissing him one more time. You didn’t know when you'd be able to again.
His gentle smile faded, and he looked into your eyes with devastating sincerity. “I got you now, okay?”
“I know, Joel.”
“Do you have me?” he asked.
“I’m trying.” You hoped that would be enough, because it was all you had.
“That’s all I need, sweetheart.”

a/n: so i wrote most of this when i was sick with the flu and i fully intended for it to be a one-shot, but i love this dynamic and i’m thinking of exploring it further. let me know if y’all would be interested in seeing more of these two. (edit: this a/n is now redundant bc i did in fact write the sequel).

PART I
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lady Whistledown: Dearest reader, the time has come to place our bets for the upcoming social season. Consider the household of the Baron Featherington. Three misses foisted upon the marriage market like sorrowful sows by their tasteless, tactless, mama.
Far better odds might exist in the household of the widowed Viscountess Bridgerton. A shockingly prolific family, noted for its bounty of perfectly handsome sons and perfectly beautiful daughters.
Or perhaps in the loving household of the Marquess of Anderton, Lord and Lady Y/L/N? With their two eldest sons, known not only for their intelligent selves and gorgeous faces, but for their stunningly bright younger sister, who is not just a pretty face.
Not only are the two families extremely close, but practically family, how very perfect, indeed!
It is only the queen's eye that matters today. A glimmer of displeasure, and a young lady's value plummets to unthinkable depths.
It has been said that, “Of all bitches dead or alive, a scribbling woman is the most canine." If that should be true, then this author would like to show you her teeth.
My name is Lady Whistledown.
You do not know me, and rest assured, you never shall. But be forewarned, dear reader, I certainly know you.
how on earth had you not yet read this?
one of the things you’d looked forward to besides meeting everyone had been the scandal sheets and you’d missed out on receiving one yesterday.
“this woman seems quite powerful. you know how easily words can ruin someone’s image. it’s interesting to see a lone woman hold so much sway in just her writing. i truly do wonder who she is. any guesses?” you asked pen, daphne and el as the three of you waited for your mothers and pens sisters to catch up as you made your way to the park.
eloise smiled, “it has to be a widow! no married woman would have time for this, she’d have an estate to care for and children pulling on her every day. a widow with her own home and responsibilities. perhaps lady danbury?”
you had to giggle at the guess, knowing whistledown herself was right with you. you’d managed to meet penelope at least, so that was one person of your list. lady danbury would be next with her ball tonight, and perhaps simon as well.
“what’s so funny? i haven’t heard a guess from you!” eloise groaned as you smiled, “i have no guesses besides, pen?” penelope’s head shot up straight away from the ground, “what?” “i was going to ask if you had any.” you could see her cheeks flushing, and her breathing quicken at the idea of being caught out.
and as you all walked together through the park, you’d mistakenly enthralled yourself in conversations, going so far as to walk with your back facing others. walking backwards as to face the girls.
“look out!”
before you’d fallen you were caught, by simon.
“i, i am so sorry. i was not looking-” simon smiled, “well that’s obvious no?” he joked as he lifted you up. you straightened your dress out and smiled, “of course. forgive me your grace.” you curtsied, in the presence of the person you’d been most excited to meet, you’d forgotten all about your friends behind.
as they all met him you couldn’t even take your eyes off of him, and neither could he for you. and once lady featherington came around she wasted no time to throw her eldest daughters upon him. the misery in his eyes hurt your soul so you took it upon yourself to rectify the situation.
“your grace!” simon turned towards you, as did everyone else. “yes, lady y/n?” you smiled, “would you like to accompany me, to promenade?” simon tilted his head, pondering your question.
he couldn’t help but be taken aback, usually many girls weren’t so forward. and god were you beautiful. rather than dealing with annoying girls who wanted a title the second they saw him, he could walk with someone he actually found interesting.
“i- would love to.” he smiled as he took a step back, allowing you to walk with him. you could hear the chatter from the girls behind you as well as your mother and violet.
you’d spent so long together, walked for so long your feet ached afterwards. and you didn’t miss the longing stares from other men around, and the women for him.
and even if it had taken so much energy of yours to keep walking, you wouldn’t have given up the chance. everything he said, you replied to. every joke sent laughter rippling through you and you could not help but feel content. he was, even better then the show. and as you got to know him you felt unbelievably happy.
and so did he.
he went home with all his thoughts containing you. he found himself smiling at every memory of his time with you that day. your smiles, your laughter, your beauty, you. and he had no clue why. he’d never been this taken with someone and he found himself struggling with why.
over the season you found yourself taken with him, your family allowed you to attend balls and do as you wish but you were under no obligation to dance or do anything you did not wish to.
yet you found yourself undeniably enthusiastic every time you realised you were going to a ball because you’d see simon. you’d dance, you’d laugh and everything else because he always gave you something to look forwards to, as did you for him, he was truly an amazing friend.
and he was completely besotted with you.
much to not only anthony’s surprise but danbury as well.
and simon was so intent upon being with you.
as much as you liked him you could not help but love how you were. your family was amazing and so happy. you had amazing friends within daphne, penelope and eloise. marriage seemed so far away in your mind and your life was sweet and favourable.
lady trowbridge’s ball was, scandalous, to say the least. you couldn’t believe your eyes when you walked in, half naked dancers spinning around, and quite uptempo music for a woman in mourning.
“lady y/n, may i-” lord wellington was promptly cut off in his endeavour to dance with you by the person you’d been looking for.
“y/n?” simon called out as he made his way to you. “simon! there you are, i was wondering where you’d gone off to.” you smiled at your bestfriend as he made his way to you, nodding in acknowledgement to his friend lord wellington. you thought they were friends at least.
and so did simon, until he saw him coming after you for a dance.
“come along now.” he smiled as you also nodded at the lord, “it was nice to see you my lord.” you curtsied as simon dragged you away.
“oh my god, i thought he would never leave! he tries to dance with me every single ball yet he doesn’t take notice of my indifference towards him!” you snorted as simon laughed louder, “i did not know such an unbecoming sound could originate from such a lovely women!” you scoffed, “that is no way to talk to your best friend!” you fake cried as you wiped literal tears from your eyes, the paintings in-front taking your eye.
simons breath hitched, best friend? best friend?
is that what you thought of him as? he thought the world of you, over the time he’s gotten to know you, he held you in the highest esteem. you were everything to him and he was a mere friend for you. no, he would not have it. who else loved you as he did? wanted you as he did?
“best friend?” simon questioned as your laughter died down at his seriousness, “what?” you giggled as you tried to compose yourself. “you named me your best friend. am i nothing more to you? just a friend? you see me as an acquaintance, as a brother?”
“no i do not see you as a brother, my dear simon.” you smiled, “you are amazing. every day i wake and think of seeing you, for the time i have known you, you have been nothing short of my favourite person. i look forward to seeing you, speaking with you and dancing. arguing over who’s literature is better, who’s right and who’s wrong. i have never known someone’s company besides daphnes to never annoy me. i love you, i do but-”
“but nothing. we love each other, that is all that matters. y/n not a day goes by where i do not wish to be in your presence, to see your gorgeous face. to hear you say my name, to feel you hit me when i say something utterly scandalous. i cannot and will not imagine myself spending my life with no other women but you. you are my other half, you are the air i breathe and the only person whom i’ve ever loved as much as i do. there are not enough words to describe my love for you y/n/n. it is you who i wish to wake up with everyday, it is you who i wish to be with, you who i would start a family with. your laughter that shall echo through my halls for as long as we live. i cannot and will not fathom the idea of you not being here for me, you are made for me.” simons grip encircled your wrists as he pulled you close, his face drawing near as he met your lips.
you never imagined yourself here with simon especially. he’d been nothing short of amazing in your time here, your best friend. but here you were, kissing him.
kissing him?!
you immediately detached from him as you retained your senses and drew your hands to cover your face in shock. “i’m so- so sorry. i do not know what that was your grace.” you rambled as your heart quickened, had someone seen? how could you be so stupid!?
his eyes furrowed at your words, your grace? what was with the formalities, you were to be wed, to be together. and here you were reverting to old habits. “my love there is no need to use such proper titles.”
your head whipped up the second he stopped speaking, “simon do not say such things! endearing terms as such are for, married couples. we are not.” you whispered as you made your way towards the party, but not before he grabbed your wrist and pulled you towards him as you collided with his chest.
he couldn’t let you go, everything, his head and his heart were screeching at him to ‘hold on tight’, to not let you go. so he did what he thought best,
lie.
“someone saw us.”
your eyes widened to the heavens as your breathing quickened again, “no. no they didn’t- they didn’t.” you shook your head as he placed his hand on your cheek to have you look at him. your eyes began to water and he felt himself tense, he hated it. he hated the idea of you being upset, but he was so close to having what he wanted so he continued.
“my dear y/n, i will treat you better then anyone ever could, deep down you know you are better off with me then any other. i love you, we will be together.” simon explained as you buried your head in his chest, you were so young, you hadn’t even properly debuted and now you were to be wed. how did you let this happen?
but a little voice piped up in your head, ‘it’s simon, your simon. the one who is always there for you. marrying him will give you a life of happiness and peace. marrying your best friend is the best thing you could ask for. you loved him when you didn’t know him truly, and now you do. be happy.’
and you wanted to be, simon was so good to you.
but you knew you weren’t ready. with marriage people would expect a child, a family. and your real life, the one back home? what would happen? would you ever go back? or would marrying him cement you in this world, forever.
“shh, you’ll be okay. i’m here, right here my love. you are my love, my heart, my infatuation.”
and you didn’t know it but you were right, the second you allowed him into your life, you were never going to go back home.

Hey🤍 may I please request a fluff/romantic or Bi Han. I know a lot of people don’t think he is capable of being romantic but a girl needs some fluff for Bi Han please. Maybe something were he is sweet and caring only towards reader and everyone else he is normal Bi Han. Love your writing thank you🤍
Tumblr media
This got shoddy at the end of the drab. 🦦
You were lost within your own head for while when Bi-Han had appeared at your side, gingerly taking your hand within his own, drawing a gasp from your lips as you felt his cold fingers intertwine with yours. ‘Bi-Han. You’re here.’ You breathed out, smiling instantaneously upon being greeted with the beautiful dark eyes of the man you had happily promised your heart to. Your grasped his hand tighter, almost as though you were checking if he was actually with you, rather then some illusion you’ve coincidentally conjured up.
‘Of course I’m here, little bird.’ Bi-Han told you whilst pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, letting them linger there for a while before pulling away to gently rest his forehead against your own. His eyes locked on yours, as though he were fearful to look away in the instance that you wouldn’t be there when he looked back. ‘For I could never be content as to keep you waiting for longer then needed.’ He adds as he took this moment to ingrain you eternally within his mind, so that he may never forget who he was fighting for, who he was carving a better future for and who he would vigorously defend till his last breath escaped from him.
Gods did Bi-Han hate being separated from you for long periods of time, truly believing that one day Kuai Liang and Tomas would try to enact revenge for his supposed betrayal, by taking away the one person who gave him true purpose in this life; you. However he couldn’t completely disregard his duties as Grandmaster, for it would be sacrilege. Bi-Han was forever grateful that you never held that against him, and instead fully understand that he couldn’t fully commit to being your lover when there was so much work yet to be done.
‘If it was for you?’ You inquired. ‘I’d wait for as long as I must to see my beloved home safe and sound. So you needn’t worry in keeping me waiting.’ You finished as you then softly pecked his plush lips, cooing softly once pulling away from him, enjoying how Bi-Han fruitlessly attempted in following after your lips. For a man as cold as ice he was quite warm and gentle, but you knew he was only like this for you and you often times felt spoilt by being blessed to see this side of him; The side of him that would constantly hold you face in between his hands when checking you for injuries, his thumbs stroking the skin of your cheeks with such gentleness, as though he thought you were going to break. You even saw Bi-Han during his most stubborn and his most angriest of moments and yet still you called him the most breathtaking man you’ve ever met because to you that was the honest truth.
‘I just don’t want to wish you being bored of me when I come home.’ Bi-Han admitted softly. ‘You deserve a man who is willing to be at your beck and call, to be with you from the early hours of morning, to the later hours of night. You shouldn’t have to settle for less because you feel as though that’s all there is going for you, and instead you should strive for more for you deserve more, way more then any man could possibly give.’ Bi-Han truly meant what he said, he truly believed that you deserved better, never to tolerate less, for he felt like he wasn’t giving you all that he possibly could and it pained him greatly because you’ve him so much throughout the duration of your relationship.
Bi-Han only felt as it was only reasonable to give you an out shoulder you feel as though you weren’t being valued enough, as he always tended to put you and your well-being first and foremost in just about everything. But you saw what he was doing almost instantly and you weren’t about to allow Bi-Han to make a offer a solution that’ll only end up hurting the both of you because despite his tiering duties as Grandmaster, he was a dedicated, loyal and caring lover. You couldn’t have to ask for a better man and never would for Bi-Han was it for you, he was the one.
Bi-Han.’ You murmured, taking your free hand to hold his cheek, stroking it reassuringly as you watched him visibly relax within your hold, moving his head to kiss your inner wrist. ‘To be bored of you would be like to be bored of living for while you are a very busy man, you are the most attentive, sweet, caring man I have ever met.’ You pressed a kiss to the tip of his nose before brushing your nose against his, breathing him in as deep as you could. ‘Not once have you ever made me feel less important or less valued. Never. You made me feel worshiped, you made me feel loved, you always found room for me within your busy schedule, and I could never find a appropriate way to express my gratitude to you but I hope to everyday.’ You concluded, hoping that you had gotten your point across that you weren’t going anywhere without him.
‘You don’t need to express anything to me, my beloved,’ Bi-Han reassured you, kissing your inner wrist once more. ‘For the sole fact that you still being here with me despite all my flaws is the biggest gesture I could have ever received and I’m eternally thankful that you haven’t yet given up on me. Do it should be me expressing my gratitude, not you.’ Bi-Han finishes. ‘There’s no need for that.’ You assured him. ‘You’ve done enough and you’ve just gotten back from a long mission. You must be exhausted and in need of rest.’ You then began to pull Bi-Han towards your shared bed by his arm.
Bi-Han wasn’t one to complain, as it meant he got to make up for lost time by laying in your arms and leeching off of your warmth whilst putting his aching body to rest, something his soul had yearned to do the moment he return to the Lin Kuei. ‘That sounds perfect, little bird. That sounds perfect.’

Love was one thing Azriel had dreamed about. Longed for. He had longed for it since he was born. He had known his mother's kind hands. Had felt a touch of tenderness, but those memories had been swept away. Buried. Shoved deep within him. Been burned out of him. Azriel had welcomed the mask of steel. Had wanted nothing more than to hide behind the tight, cold shield.
He had grown tired of being the victim. Of being shoved around. He wanted to be the one people ran from. He wanted to possess that power. To be someone people dreaded. To never fall again. To never be the one to yield. So, he welcomed the power the brotherhood with Rhys and Cassian brought him. He found strength in his brothers. They helped him up until Azriel was strong enough to stand on his own two feet.
Azriel had learned to live with the pain. He endured it. Let the scars bleed out. Let them scab over. He knew they would never truly fade. Mother, his hands were enough of a reminder of that. But they had settled enough. Settled enough for Azriel to want to live. He had found purpose in Rhys's court. Rhys had given him that. And Azriel was thankful for that in more than one way.
But the clenched grip of Amarantha had messed it all up. Had put so many things in motion. Had plucked out so many souls. Had woven so many lives. Had brought so much heartbreak. So much trauma and sleepless nights. That same helplessness. Yet it also brought Feyre to Rhys. It had brought Nesta to Cassian. But left Azriel empty-handed.
And the spymaster had observed them all. He had spent countless hours watching the love blossom right in front of him. He had caught onto the ways his brothers looked at their lovers. There was always something special about a gaze like that. It was unmistakable. So loud. Drenched with so many emotions, sometimes unnoticeable for the lovers but so clear for the ones who looked from the side.
That's when Azriel had grown restless. Careless. Desperate. He was ready to step on the values he treasured. The laws he believed in. He went as far as reaching for an already mated female. She was lost. Everyone should have sensed that. The world. The obligations they brought frightened her. And Azriel took advantage of that. He had told himself that this was right. That had to be. Three sisters for three brothers. But even with Elain wrapped up in his arms, the roaring didn't ease. But Azriel refused to let go.
Refused until Rhys stepped in. Until the high lord had done something he vowed to never do, Rhys forced Azriel to his knees with his magic. The spymaster could still hear the roaring tone, "I warned you. This thing you are doing is out of order. Elain is a mated woman, Azriel". Oh, how he had fought. How Azriel had said it over and over, the world he had made himself believe in. Three sisters for three brothers. Just that didn't reach Rhys, and when Azriel woke up in an unknown room, he knew the punishment he was to face was like no other.
Rhys had knocked politely on your mental shield that night. It was way too late. But you cracked the locks open. "Can I winnow to the sanctuary?", it was such a simple question. Yet it left you frowning. The lines on your face only deepened when you saw your high lord, followed by a male who held another unconscious body.
"I apologize for the inconvenience", Rhys stated. He was angry. Tired? You couldn't pinpoint the emotion. Drained - that seemed the most fitting. "What's... Is your soldier in need of healing?", you questioned calmly, already moving to roll up your sleeves. "In some ways...", Rhys breathed, and that's how you came to know the story of the man who had lost himself in search of love. The man who had crumbled under his demons. Male Rhys had sent to the oldest sanctuary in the Velaris Mountains. In hopes of mending the broken pieces.
Azriel did not leave his room after he regained consciousness. He was stripped of his daggers. The gift to winnow was without doubt taken away by Rhys himself. Oh, how much he had cursed his brother in the first days. He roared as he threw furniture around the small room. He growled loudly when they were all replaced by magic right in front of him. Oh, Azriel imagined how much pleasure Rhys was having watching this.
You had chosen to seek him out on his fifth day here. You had come every day, but the sheer sounds of distraction from within made you halt every time. Today, it all seemed a lot quieter. Too quiet, even. You knocked a couple of times. Not surprised when you didn't get the answer. You knew that the sanctuary provided him with food and water, but you didn't want him to feel like a prisoner.
He looked rough. You doubted he had bathed in the days he had been here. The air inside was thick. He had drowned out the light almost completely with his shadows. They swarmed around him frantically. You frowned at the harsh light that threatened to cave in on his darkness. Quickly moving your wrist, you drew back the sharp rays of light. The room dimmed.
"Hey", you breathed out quietly, "I wanted...", but the wave of darkness poured towards you, pushing you against the wall, making you gasp. "Where am I?", Azriel didn't sound human-like. An animal ridden with anger. "You're safe...", you breathed out. "That's not what I asked you!", Azriel roared. His fist shook right in front of you. "What will you do, spymaster, hit me?", you moved to push off the wall slightly. "You might be angry. The hell itself might be burning inside you for all I care", you said, opening your palms and waving threads of light through them. "But you were brought here for a reason, and you can cry like a little boy, but you will not raise a hand against any breathing creature that lives beneath this roof", your wild eyes met his. A battle of power deep-rooted. You weren't too surprised when a roar left Azriel's mouth. Thick clouds of darkness forming. You just worked faster. Suppressing it. Capturing it in the smoothness of warmth. Taking Azriel along with it. Even if that was the last thing you wanted to do,
"You will have to accept my apologies", Rhys had his head in his hands after you had been summoned into his office. He felt guilty; you couldn't mistake that emotion even if you wanted to. "Wipe that thought away", you said quietly, "He picked a fight with me. Your intervening would have caused more damage". Rhys let out a sigh. "I don't recognize him, Y/N.", the high lord shook his head, "I look at him. I look through his head, and... I don't see the same male I knew for centuries".
You made your way towards the window. "Do you remember the night you came to me after you realized that Feyre was your mate?" The question had made the high lord stiffen. He was grateful that you chose the word came instead of crawl. "Your heart was desperate, and your mind was full of roaring demons," you said as you stepped closer to the windowsill. "So time", Rhys muttered. You nodded, "Even the most broken souls find themselves eventually. We can guide them to it". Rhys nodded mostly to himself; he had so many things he still wanted to say to you and ask, but when he lifted his head, you were no longer there.
Azriel had no recollection of how he had gotten into bed. He had no recollection of opening the window ever so slightly. The cold wind soothed him. Easing the throbbing all over his body. His mind dragged out fragments of you. They were scattered and dim. But his skin still bore the feeling of light. He moved to sit up, frowning as a piece of paper fell to the floor. The spymaster reached for it instantly. "I'll forgive you for the outburst last night, but you're on kitchen duties for the rest of the month. I hope I won't have to drag you out myself", it read. Azriel stared at it. Gaped. Let the anger simmer. He crumpled the paper and threw it towards the fire, but one of his shadows caught it in time. Straightening it out before turning it back to Azriel. "You don't get to pick sides", Azriel snarled, but the shadows only waved the white paper stronger. "I could easily just make you vanish, you know?", the spymaster grumbled, but he still reached for the pile of clean clothes. He went as far as washing his face before he stepped out.
Only midway down the corridor did Azriel realize that he had no idea where he was going. And suddenly, a wave of panic washed over him. Was he even allowed to walk freely? Rhys had banished him; Mother only knew to what end. He had no idea where he was. He might as well have been cast to another dimension. The sound of small feet hitting the floor made Azriel twirl around.
Two babies, not older than five, ran towards him. Azriel waited for them to halt. Frighten and run away. But they moved towards him, squealing, clearly lost in whatever game they were playing. They dove under Azriel's wings, moving past him. Sprinting down the hall. Azriel's feet started moving without him even realizing it. He followed the laughter and happy shrieks.
He walked right until he was met with a big open space. The glass dome was right up above it. Stone columns supported it. Azriel moved quietly. He used the dim sides to hide himself. The place looked like a commune area. The sound of singing increased. Rounding the corner, Azriel moved to stand in the arch of two columns. Breath hitched in his throat as he saw Fea and Illyrian children dancing in circles. A handful of females were seated all around. He scanned the room.
His gaze halted. There, in the middle of one of the circles the children formed, stood you. Pieces of last night flashed in front of Azriel's eyes. The way he had leaped at you. The way you brought on the light. How you had wrapped him up in the comfort of it. He watched as you spun around as well. The white dress you wore twirled with you. He was convinced that you were glowing as you smiled at every little happy face that watched you.
You sang with them all, and Azriel found himself leaning against the column. He was oddly captivated by the view in front of him. A handful of tinny wings messily clapped as the younglings kicked off from the ground. Trying to soar into the air. Azriel watched them. Some old, deep wounds throbbed within his chest. He lowered his gaze for the moment, trying to suppress it. To shove it back deeper into himself.
But then an urge to lift his gaze back up struck him. Azriel found the most beautiful set of eyes looking right back at him. He wasn't sure how you had spotted him in the shadows, but you did. He held your gaze firmly. He thought about frowning. Snarling even for a second. But you had smiled up at him. Had smiled so brightly that Azriel felt some slither of warmth trying to spark to life within his chest. You nodded your head slowly at him, and Azriel found himself returning the gesture. Right as a warm feeling settled deep within his cold bones.

Your whole body ached and felt like your blood had been drained and replaced twice over. You tried to curl up onto your side, in search of the comfort you received from such a childlike pose. But the wires and your fragile bones screamed for you to stop. You fell back onto the bed as tears of frustration poured down your cheeks.
A knock from a distinctly wooden object halted your crying. Upon seeing the face of your doctor you quickly wiped away your tears. But he had already seen.
He limped forward and place a chocolate pudding cup and spoon in the space between your hands. Before moving away he squeezed one of your bony hands, a little part of him sunk at the feel of your fragility.
“I got you a present.” He gestured to the dessert with his cane.
You looked at him suspiciously. “They’re free for patients.”
“I never said I paid for the present. Does our love mean so little that you must attach monetary value to it.” He dramatically placed his hand to his heart in faux hurt.
You giggled. “Thank you.” He smiled at the flicker of joy but his frown returned when he saw your hands uselessly attempt to open the cup in spite of their shaking. He rose and took the cup and opened it for you.
You gave him the sweetest smile you could muster but sunk down in the realisation of your inability to complete the task.
He went back and dragged his chair closer to your bed as you slowly tucked in to the delicious treat. Only taking small bites.
You had come to enjoy the frequent visits with your doctor. It seemed he only needed to be with you to soothe his own worries which you saw furrowed on his face. His team had often remarked how unusual his behaviour was, comparing him to manic genius with no sense of empathy. You found their quips funny especially because of how anachronistic they were to the man who helped you fix your pillows any time you so much as squirmed.
“I heard you’re refusing the surgery.” You halted your eating, your face fell. Of course it was this.
“I just don’t want to.”
“You realise you aren’t choosing between some cosmetic alteration, this is the choice between living and dying.”
“Well maybe I don’t want to live.”
“That’s ridiculous everyone wants to live.” He rolled his eyes.
“Living’s tiring.” Your voice became childlike in your admittance. This shocked him as his focus was no solely on you. “I’m tired, Greg.” Your words shook and were on the precipice of falling. He took your shaking hand in his and they lay linked on your bed.
“I know.” He cooed. “I know I’ve been wrong before, but I know I’m right about this. I won for you, now just let me fight it. For you.”
You still couldn’t bring yourself to look into his eyes, afraid you’d crumble.
“Being alive is the worst.” You giggled at his dark quip. “But dying is the easy way out.” He used a finger to gently poke your cheek as you tried to contain your smile. “And I never took you for a coward.”
He sat there with you for a full hour. You dropped in and out of sleep but he couldn’t bring himself to let go of your hand.
Eventually Cameron came to prep you for surgery. House still did not let go.
You lay on the table and the surgeons bustled around you, the anaesthetist approached with the gas. House stood next your head and softly stroked your eyelids to offer some comfort.
“Just one thing.” You managed out. “If I don’t wake up, there’s something I’d regret not doing. Can you kiss me?”
House was stunned for a moment and looked around at the surgeons managing one ear on  the interesting turn of events. He carefully leaned down and planted the softest kiss onto your cracked dry lips. As soon as you connected he felt the stress leave your body and you welcomed whatever was to come. The gas mask was placed over your nose and mouth.
“See you in a bit.” House teased.
********************************************************************
Your heavy lids fought open and your blurry vision focused on the outline of your hospital room. Despite the post surgey pain, you could sense that everything else was gone. You were going to be okay. You strained your neck to turn to the side where your eyes landed on House, who’s bedraggled clothes indicated where he had slept waiting for you.
“Welcome back.”
You reached out a weak arm and cupped his cheek.
“Thank you.”

in this world, it’s just us
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary - you and harry attend the Brits, drink a little and love each other a lot
warnings: alcohol consumption, swearing, pregnancy talk?!, tears of joy
word count: +4.3k
pairing: famous!reader x harry
“Y/N, babe? Jeff needs us to– Woah!”
Harry entered the bedroom where you were getting ready. You were surrounded by Harry’s hair and make-up team whilst you got dressed for the Brit Awards tonight.
You blushed a smile as Harry’s jaw dropped a little and put a hand over his heart, as if you’d just punctured him there.
“What?” You asked, pretending like you didn’t know you’d just given him a minor heart attack with how good you looked - because you did look amazing.
“You… Just wow, lovie.” He smiled.
“Wow to you too.” You replied, allowing him to come and give you a quick chaste kiss. He didn’t want to get told off for ruining your makeup yet, but later on in the evening there was going to be no stopping his flirtatious self all over you.
“Wow to you too.” You replied, allowing him to come and give you a quick chaste kiss. He didn’t want to get told off for ruining your makeup yet, but later on in the evening there was going to be no stopping his flirtatious self all over you.
“Y’going to the Brits like that, hun?” Bella, a make-up specialist, asked Harry as she pointed to his displayed abs.
“If m’wife lets me? Yeah.” Harry posed with his hands on his hips, making people whistle in admiration for him. Harry blushed and awkwardly laughed then, getting shy over the attention he was being given.
“Well, as much as I love your body I do love the suit as a complete look.” You explained.
“Y’love my body do you?” He raised his eyebrows and gave you a flirtatious look.
“Of course that’s all you took from what I said.” You rolled your eyes and shook your head playfully. “Now go get ready before Jeff tells you off.”
“Okay, okay! Couldn’t get enough of me this morning and now you’re sending me away like I’m an expired carton of milk.”
“What even..?” Harry Lambert laughed, standing in the doorway probably looking for Harry. People in the room started laughing too, but Harry was only looking at you to gauge your reaction. He didn’t care if he made a whole room of people laugh, because it was only your reaction that meant any value to him.
So when you chuckled, he couldn’t help but chuckle too because he had put that smile on your face and he’d be damned if he didn’t take a minute to soak up the sunshine radiating from you.
“Baby, you know I love you but we need to hurry up.” You calmed yourself from laughing too much.
“Okay. One more kiss, though?”
Of course you instantly nodded, bringing Harry in for a few more kisses than just the one. He repeatedly kissed you, until he knew that you’d got the memo that he loved you very much.
“Did I mention y’look beautiful?” He whispered against your lips and it made the people around you swoon over how perfectly he treated you. If only everyone had a Harry in their lives.
“Mhm.” You nodded, still in post-bliss from his kisses.
After a few more kisses and a stern shout from Harry Lambert, for Harry to come and finish getting ready, Harry was out of the room and you were back to getting ready yourself. Bella re-touched-up your lipstick and Kenna fastened the straps on your heels for you. Before you knew it, you were completely glammed up and ready to go to the Brits.
“That man’s love for you is unconditional.” Bella made heart eyes after your interaction with Harry.
“I like to think so, yeah.” You chuckled, walking across the room to collect your purse and start breaking in your heels.
“The man on the moon could see his heart beating for you, Y/N, seriously.” Kenna added.
You stood in front of the floor-length mirror and straightened out all the tiny creases in your dress. It was a gorgeous black dress, to match Harry’s black suit. You had never been too confident with your body’s shape, however with the warm embrace of Harry’s love you had come to learn to love yourself too. Tonight was a tribute to how much you’d fallen in love with your body.
“Yeah. I mean, I wish my fiancè looked at me like that.” Bella sighed. “Did Harry fall in love with you more after he married you?”
“I can’t speak for him but…” You started.
“Yeah.” Harry stood behind you and you viewed his outfit through the mirror. He looked absolutely incredible. “I fucking did.”
“Ugh.” Harry Lambert gagged over how romantic the room had just gotten. “You’re disgusting.”
You turned around as Harry walked towards you. You held out a hand for him to hold and you felt the cool of his rings burn your skin before his skin did. You hummed in delight as he interlinked his fingers through yours, tilting your head up to give him access to your lips once more. The strand of hair that dangled over Harry’s forehead had you in a chokehold and you delicately reached up to play with it.
“You look so pretty.” You smiled up at him, him smiling down at you.
Neither of you had started on the drinks yet, but the way that Harry’s eyes were glossed over slightly could have fooled anyone into thinking he was drunk. Turns out that’s just what Harry’s eyes do when he looks at the people he loves.
“Alright, before you two start mauling each other’s faces off, I want photos.” Harry Lambert ordered, pushing Harry’s shoulder lightly to get him to snap out of his focused daze on you.
Harry moved around you so that he was standing slightly behind you. His arm firmly wrapped around your waist and your hand rested over his hand that laid there. Your head slightly tilted into Harry’s chest, whilst Harry’s rested on top of yours. You knew these photos would become Harry’s newest home screen, because he always wanted the most up-to-date photo of you both to admire.
You swapped between a few poses, before Harry Lambert was satisfied and left everyone to do their final checks before leaving.
You pulled Harry back in front of the mirror and pulled out your phone to take a few photos with him, both his arms slinking over your shoulders and leaning his head down to be closer to yours. The photos were sickeningly cute. Only you could convince Harry to take a mirror selfie.
Harry kissed your cheek before saying, “Right. I’m going to go meet the driver and then we are ready to head out, yes?”
“Yes.”
••••
On the red carpet you and Harry stood separately, because Jeff wanted Harry to get some solo photos.
You had been taking photos together for a little while, posing next to each other and sending the media into a frenzy when Harry kissed you.
It wasn’t your first red carpet appearance together, but you and Harry did enjoy keeping your relationship as closed off to the public as possible. It was a little hard, since you were both A-list celebrities, but you made it work in the best way possible for you.
You and Harry had met each other through Tyler, Harry’s producer. You had written a few songs with Tyler before and had suggested that a song you’d written, called ‘Music For A Sushi Restaurant’, might be something that Harry would like. You’d seen him around and thought he was the kind of guy to enjoy a funky song like ‘Sushi’. You never actually expected him to feature the song on his album, let alone ask you out for a drink to talk more about songwriting together.
Harry’s House was a project close to Harry’s heart, not only because it was an album filled with such raw and emotional songs but also because you had written all of the songs with him. He had fallen in love with your style of writing so much that he didn’t want to feature a single song on his album that didn’t include you.
Thanks to Harry, Harry’s House and the hard work you both put in to writing the songs, you had both been nominated and won a Brit Award for ‘Songwriter of the Year’. You never thought you’d even be a recognised name in the music industry, let alone winning Brit Awards, and it was all thanks to Harry.
Over the course of writing Harry’s House you had taken a strong liking towards one another, until one day Harry had solidified his attraction towards you when he kissed you in the middle of writing ‘Grapejuice’ with each other.
The rest was history.
So, when you were stopped on the red carpet and asked to come a little further down to the presentation carpet you furrowed your eyebrows in compliance. You followed the usher down the carpet, hearing Harry ask Jeff, behind you, where you were going.
You stood on the presentation carpet, next to a life-size Brit award waiting for what came next. Roman Kemp came on the carpet next with a microphone.
“Oh no.. I was promised no interviews!” You blushed, covering your mouth with your hand to hide the embarrassment. You were very shy when it came to public media interaction and found that as a result you were socially awkward.
You looked around to try and spot Harry, finally noticing him behind the camera’s smiling at you. He was stood with his hands behind his back and leaning his weight onto one leg, looking like the Gucci model he always is.
“Don’t worry. No interviews.” Roman clarified, calming your nerves instantly. “We are actually here with you, Y/N, because you have won ‘Songwriter of the Year’, correct?”
“I believe so, although I still can’t comprehend why!” You laughed, blushing even harder because you weren’t sure whether that was something to even laugh over. You looked to Harry instantly and saw that he was shaking his head in disbelief that you’d just said that about yourself.
“Well, I am here to present you your award. Congratulations Y/N on winning ‘Songwriter of the Year’!” Roman cheered and then the surrounding media, camera crew and Harry’s team all cheered too. Harry whistled using his fingers in his mouth, making you drop your head in embarrassment over the attention.
Roman handed you the award and you took it graciously, thanking him kindly. You looked towards Harry, again, and watched him continue to whistle for you. You laughed and put your hand over your heart, thanking everyone you could, which was a habit that you’d picked up from Harry.
You hugged Roman briefly and then moved over towards Harry. His arms awaited for you as you happily ran over. He bent down slightly to pick you up by your lower waist, before lifting you up off the floor and swaying you from left to right. One of your arms wrapped around the back of his neck whilst the other stayed to the side holding your Brit. You giggled into his neck as he left a few dozen kisses on yours.
“I’m so fucking proud of you, y’know?” He said, kissing over your skin once more with a little more bite.
“I know.” You whispered just below his ear, kissing his tiny ear lobe then making him chuckle.
“And I really do love you.”
“I really do love you too.”
••••
The venue inside was magical.
The iconic tables were all set out and the audience were already sitting high in their seats. No doubt the fans were already recording videos of you and Harry walking to your table. Harry had invited so many people to the Brits tonight they had two tables reserved for him.
On one table was his band and other people from his record label, whilst the other was reserved for family, his management and you. Of course he was sitting on the table with you.
He held your hand tight as you weaved through the tables, turning around every so often to make sure you were alright still. At one point you spotted Jessie J and tugged on Harry’s hand to catch his attention. He raised his eyebrows to ask what was wrong.
“Jessie’s over there. I want to congratulate her on her pregnancy.” You said, tugging his hand again for him to follow you. Harry was quick to walk behind you and follow you without stepping on your dress.
“Are we sure she’s pregnant?” Harry asked. “The last time I assumed a woman was pregnant it did not go down well.”
“Yeah, I’m still not over that by the way...” You stopped short to pinch his nipple over his silk shirt. Little did you know that that one action from you would cause global fan casualties and trends on Twitter later on.
“Well, if you let me actually make you pregnant, baby, it’ll go down better when I ask.” He smirked, enjoying the feeling of you pressing up against him as you stopped. Your ass was pressed back against him and he moved in even closer to get a better feel.
“That comment just cost you drunk after-party sex.” You faked a small smile, before walking forwards a bit more, leaving Harry behind to feel sorry for himself.
You reached Jessie and congratulated her on her pregnancy, having a laugh with her. It had been a while since you’d seen each other and you both agreed you would have to start writing with each other again soon. Jessie told you to get Harry over to see her at some point in order to congratulate him on his opening performance.
Once you made it back to your table, Harry was busy talking to Rob Stringer and you assumed he wouldn’t notice you after your minor argument. You were wrong, however. Harry stood out of his chair and pulled yours back for you, all whilst keeping his conversation with Rob going. You thanked him kindly as he pushed your chair under the table for you and sat back down himself. His hand went straight to rest on the back of your chair behind you and he crossed his legs over, pointing his body towards yours. This was a silent tell to you that he was working up an apology.
Before you could start up a conversation with anyone, Harry pulled your chair closer to him which made you gasp at the sudden movement.
“What are you-”
“I’m sorry.” Harry said, kissing your cheek afterwards. “I won’t ever ask if you, or any other woman, is pregnant again. I’ll wait for you, and them, to tell me first.”
“Thank you.” You nodded and leant in to kiss him. He eagerly complied and gave you slightly more than just a peck, but enough to keep it P.G. in front of his team, family and thousands of fans. “It’s still a maybe to the sex, though.”
“I’ve got time to change it to a yes.” He smirked, before kissing your forehead and settling down as the lights went down in the arena.
The screams increased and Salma walked on the stage to present the first award. You rested your head on Harry’s shoulders, leaning into him for some extra comfort. He was happy to let you lean on him, not caring if his suit was now stained a little with makeup from your cheek.
“And the winner of Best Pop Vocal/R&B act is…” Salma paused to create tension.
“It’s gotta be you.” You whispered to him and Harry nudged you gently with his shoulder, because if there was one thing he wasn’t capable of it was taking a compliment - like most British people in fact.
“The one and only..” Salma continued, making you sit up straight and look at Harry who was trying to hide his smirk. “Harry Styles.”
“Yes!” You screamed, throwing your arms around him. He was laughing into your neck as he tugged you back tightly. You knew you couldn’t hold him for long, but when you pulled away - because Harry never pulled away from your hugs first - he kissed your cheek generously. You continued to smile as he hugged Rob and then Gemma as he walked past her.
You continued standing as he reached the podium to give his awards speech, cupping your hands over your mouth to try and hide your very obvious grin. You tried not to vigorously scream when you noticed the single strand of hair dangle over his forehead, but it was very difficult considering he looked so hot.
“Uh…” He started by saying, holding his Brit in the air graciously. “Thank you so so much for this, uh. First of all..” He turned to his fans in the seats behind him, “Thank you. Um, first of all I know this was a fan voted award, so to all my fans who voted thank you so so much.” You mentally patted yourself on the back. “It’s, uh, I have so many wonderful memories at the Brits. Thank you for another one. It is so good to be home, thank you so so much.”
You cheered and screamed like everyone else around you as he continued to thank everyone. Gemma leaned over to you, already slightly tipsy on the prosecco. “Wonder whether by ‘home’ he meant you?”
You had spent so much time away from Harry, whilst both of you were so focused on various other projects, that it had been so long since you’d seen each other. Now you were back with each other, Gemma was right,  it felt like home.
As Harry made his way back to the table he had stopped off to get some shots. He had bought five and managed to spill none on his way over to his seat. He bent over next to you when he had made it back, kissing the side of your head before placing the shots on the table.
“One for you,” He said, handing it off to Jeff. “You,” to Rob, “Gem,” he passed one over to his sister, “And finally you.” He placed it in front of you.
“What’s this for?” You laughed, knowing Harry knew you hated doing shots.
“You’re taking this shot for me, okay?” He ordered, sitting back down in his chair.
“But.. What even is it?” You scoffed.
“Tequila.” Everyone groaned when he said that.
“Oh shut up, the lot of you.” He pulled a face, holding his shot up ready to cheer.
You all cheered each other's shot glasses, tapped them down on the table before knocking them back. Harry didn’t make a face after his, but you ended up coughing. It was so horrible. Harry already had a chaser in his hand ready for you and it made your heart warm that he knew you so well - or your heart could’ve just been warm from the tequila.
“Y’okay?” He laughed, just asking you. You nodded with a sour face. You had a feeling tonight was going to be a heavy one.
••••
Harry had won two more awards and had progressively got more drunk, which only meant that he had gotten more flirty and handsy with you.
He had just kissed Lewis Capaldi and made his way back over to your table after winning ‘Song of the Year’.
You were slightly drunk yourself from having a few too many drinks with Harry - especially with the tequila shots. Your eyes were slightly drowsy as Jeff talked to you.
“What are you and Harry doing tomorrow?” He asked.
“Um, breakfast at that pub we like, then I think he said he’s got meetings with you all afternoon about tour.” Your words slightly slurred together as you tried really hard to concentrate on the words you wanted to use.
“Ah, fuck the meetings. Have him to yourself tomorrow.” Jeff waffed his hand like it was no big deal.
“Oi, you two better be talking about me here.” Harry came up behind you and slunk an arm over your shoulders, kissing your head for good measure.
Harry made you sit back down and handed you a glass of water that he’d picked up along his way back to you.
“Y’feeling okay? A little tipsy, hm?” Harry asked, sitting down next to you and bringing you in closer to kiss your forehead a few times.
“I’m okay.” You said, but it sounded like it was all one word.
“Drink this, alright? For me?” Harry asked, holding the glass of water up to your lips. You took little sips, until you took too much and it started to dribble out of your mouth. Harry stopped and used his thumb to wipe up the wet mess, smiling at you for being so chaotic when drunk.
“You cheated on me.” You pouted after he’d cleaned you up.
“What?” Harry furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
“Yeah. Y-You cheated on me with Lewis.” You hiccuped out.
“Ohh. To be fair though, you cheated on me with Rina.” Harry raised his eyebrows, smirking at you like two could play your game.
You hummed in delight and smiled when you thought about Rina, who was yours and Harry’s best friend. You’d spent copious amounts of time with her in Japan back in 2018 and you’d all quickly become really good friends.
“Guess we’re both cheaters.” You said, your eyes heavy under the influence.
“Don’t say that. Don’t like it when you say things like that. Kissing you is different to kissing anyone else. With Lewis, or-or with Nick, it’s different. Like they’re m’bestfriends and it’s just a friendly kiss. With you, though..” Harry stopped to hum and smile, “With you the whole world stops a-and m’heart feels like it’s never going to get enough. ‘Cause I love you in a way I never have, and never will, love anybody else.”
Your eyes teared up over listening to him and you leaned forwards, but stopped yourself short when a few tears started to fall. “Fuck.” You mumbled to yourself, wiping your tears away. “Dude, that was too much.” You groaned, trying to blink back any more tears.
“Hey, look at me.” Harry asked and you tilted your head to the side.
“Don’t you dare say anything more romantic. I’m not emotionally stable enough.” You chuckled.
“No. I was just going to say that I love you so much.”
You leant forwards and captured your lips with his, pressing yourself into him to give him a little more than a quick kiss. You pressed your lips deeper onto his, but pulled away before he could really get into it. Because once Harry got into it, especially when he was tipsy, there was absolutely no stopping him.
“I love you.” He repeated himself, looking hazily between your eyes and your lips with a half pout.
“I love you too.” You smiled and kissed him once more.
Then Stanley Tucci made it to the stage to present the award for ‘Album of the Year’. You and Harry settled back down, only after Harry reminded you to drink more of your water. You rolled your eyes, but listened to him nevertheless.
“And the winner for ‘Album of the Year is..” Stanley paused as he opened the card.
“Harry, Harry, Harry.” You repeatedly whispered under your breath, earning a laugh from Jeff.
“Harry Styles!” He called out and Harry went crazy, screaming and bashing the table in excitement. You rocketed onto your feet and cheered for him with every vocal chord you could strain. Gemma screamed with him and he hugged her first, making you awe at the moment. He was quick to turn around to you and pull you in for a bone crushing hug too, kissing your neck a few times.
“Have I changed it to a yes, now?” He spoke next to your ear above the deafening screams. Of course this man was thinking about his post-show shag rather than the actual award he’d just won. You laughed as he pulled back.
“Who wouldn’t want to sleep with a 4-time Brit winner?” You said and it made him smirk really hard, licking his lips quickly before he was ushered to walk to the stage. You continued to clap and scream as he walked up onto the stage, never wanting this moment to end. Harry’s time at the Grammy’s had been a lot more tense and sophisticated than this, so it was nice for him to let loose once in a while.
“Fuck.” He said away from the microphone, but it was still picked up. “Wow.” He recovered from his slip up on live television. “There’s literally no one in this world I love more than Stanley Tucci, so this means so much.” He giggled.
“Rude.” You said under your breath, but Gemma and Jeff laughed making you think you’d said that a little too loudly.
You stood tall and proud as you watched Harry um and awe over his award briefly, perhaps because he was drunk but more so because he’d won ‘Album of the Year’ at both the Grammy’s and the Brits in the same year. That must be some sort of record.
It was his final speech that made the tears restart and your heart fall in love all over again.
“This, uh, night has been really really special to me and I will never forget it. Thank you so much for the welcome home. I appreciate it so much. There is no place like home. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much. So proud to be a British artist and so proud to be here tonight celebrating British artists and British music. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Oh and I should probably mention that none of this would have been possible without my best friend and collaborator, Y/N. This is as much your award as it is mine. Honestly, I have never worked with someone more dedicated to their craft than Y/N. Y/N, you inspire me to be a better person every day and I’m so happy, and grateful, to be doing this with you. I love you. Thank you.”

A few minutes later after leaving you astonished at the entrance of your building, Jungkook went straight to Taehyung’s apartment. He didn’t know what else to do so he texted him on the way there with a single line.
“I need to talk to you.”
Jungkook being the idiot he is, instantly regretted the way he treated you. He went all the way to Taehyung's cursing himself and his jealousy. The normal process should be to apologize to people when you hurt them but no, oh no, Jungkook’s brain never seemed to work at the same pace that everyone’s else did.
Even if he wanted to apologize, he didn’t know where to start. So here he was, sitting on Taehyung’s couch. His friend was on the opposite side of the room, arms crossed while giving him a questionable look as he finished telling the story about what had happened just a few minutes ago with you.
“So, let me get this straight, you’re saying that you were hooking up with someone else.” Started Taehyung trying to find some logic in Jungkook’s previous actions.
“No.” The youngest cringed “We didn’t get to the hooking up part.”
Taehyung rolled his eyes and corrected himself. “Okay, okay. You were about to hook up with some random girl, sounds better?”
“I guess.”
“Okay, so Y/N, out of nowhere, called you to hang out sounding weird, at least according to you. Which by the way, let me point this out, she never did that before.” Said Taehyung as Jungkook just nodded his head in silence. “And while you were on the phone, this random girl literally moaned, and of course, unless Y/N is deaf, we can guess that she heard it. Did I get that right?”
Jungkook sighed in frustration. “Yes”
“So, you went to check up on her and when you got to her apartment, she was just talking with some dude you don’t even know, and you had a tantrum as if you were her boyfriend whilst your neck was looking like that?” Taehyung said pointing with his finger to Jungkook’s neck.
Furrowing his brows Jungkook looked at his friend with confusion all over his face. “Huh? My neck? What are you talking about, hyung?”
He was unbelievable.
“Dude, are you for real? Look at yourself in the mirror, please.”
Jungkook traveled a few steps from the couch to the wall mirror in the living room and took a quick look at his own reflection.
Oh, no.
His eyes widened at the image in front of him. His neck was full of purple marks. Very much clear marks. He was so blinded as soon as he got your phone call that didn’t even remember that the girl in his car had sucked his neck like a leech.
Even if by some kind of miracle, you were momentarily deaf and didn’t hear the moaning while you were on the phone with him, you clearly weren’t blind and saw his neck full of hickeys. And you could only assume what had transpired with that girl.
Jungkook groaned at the frustration while saying “Fuck me.”
“You’re an idiot, Jungkook” Taehyung sighed making a few seconds pause before continuing “From what I’m hearing, she probably was going through something when she reached out to you, and you acted like an entitled asshole. You don’t even have the right to be mad. If anything, you should be thankful because she didn’t even react to the moaning or the hickeys.”
“If she didn’t react maybe she just doesn’t care about me.” Responded Jungkook almost in a whisper, sounding even sad because you didn’t react to any of it.
Is he an idiot?
“Sure, that totally makes sense. She thought of you instead of any other person when she clearly had some kind of issue, but yeah, I’m sure she doesn’t care about you at all.” Said Taehyung with the most ironic tone possible.
His friend was right about that. Ugh, now Jungkook felt anxious to know what had happen that you felt the need to call him. You already had opened up to him about your dad and it felt like you were getting closer to him, and he just went straight to fuck up everything with his unhealthy way of dealing with his feelings.
“Fuck fuck fuck. What am I going to do?”
Taehyung was surprised to see the desperation in his friend. If it were Seulgi or any other girl who they’ll be talking about, Jungkook would probably be laughing right now thinking about how bold he was to show up to his hook up all marked by another random girl. Well, to be honest, Jungkook wouldn’t have cared if Seulgi called him, he would just kept hooking up with that random girl.
But no, this time around, they were talking about you. Taehyung could see real desperation in those big doe eyes.
And even he’s friends’ with Jungkook, you’d started to feel like a friend too, he liked having you around. By now, you had hung out a few times with him and Anyra and he could see that underneath the fuck girl persona that everyone knew over the campus there was an amazing cool girl.
Just like Jungkook, underneath all those layers of alleged indifference, there was someone valuable, someone that actually cared a lot about their inner circle.
Taehyung was in some way angry at his friend. He was being an asshole to you. Even if it wasn’t intentionally. If it were any other girl, he wouldn’t be surprised. After all it is Jungkook’s usual modus operandi with women.
The thing is, at least for Taehyung who knew him very well, Jungkook had already being too obvious about you. You were not like any other girl to him, even if he didn’t show it with his stupid actions. That’s why Taehyung started to feel angry towards the youngest.
His filter went out of the window when he responded to Jungkook. “I don’t know but if I were her, I wouldn’t talk to you again.”
Ouch.
Jungkook gasped. “Wow, you really are a great friend.”
“I know I am.” said Taehyung giggling.
Jungkook glared at him in silence. He couldn’t laugh at this. Not when you were probably already hating him.
Fuck, since when does he cares about someone hating him?
“You should know by now that being your friend means that I’ll be honest with you no matter what. I’m not gonna pamper you when you clearly fucked up. Plus, I like Y/N. She’s cool.”
Yeah, she definitely is, thought Jungkook.
As he plopped himself again on the couch with his hands over his head Jungkook said “Ugh. hyung, please. I don’t know how to fix this. What should I do?”
It was stupidly simple. It started with two words.
Sighing and almost not believing how clueless Jungkook was when it came to human interactions Taehyung asked, “What do you want to do, Kook?”
“Because even for me that I’ve been your friend for years, you’re confusing as fuck.”
And that was a good question that left Jungkook thinking. What did he want?
Tumblr media
There you were. Beautiful as always.
It was a few days later, almost a week had passed by since Jungkook last saw and talked to you.
Sitting in a bench at the end of the corridor, that feeling of superiority surrounding yourself as usual. Legs crossed, hands by your sides; a little smirk appeared on your lips once your sharp gaze fixed in Jungkook’s face.
You could see he was clearly surprised to see you there.
After days of silence and avoidance from both sides, he didn’t expect for you to be there. He couldn’t quite pin if you were mad, hurt or both and it was scary as hell. Whatever you were feeling, you were pretty good disguising it with your usual facade.
The only thing he could sense is that you went back to the old Y/N, the one that puzzled him every single time he interacted with you.
“Don’t fuck up” Taehyung’s voice in a whisper cut Jungkook’s train of thoughts as they both were approaching you.
“Hey Y/N” said Taehyung as he passed by waving his hand to you.
“Hi Tae Tae” You waved back giving him a little smile.
Tae Tae? Since when did you two got so close that you are calling him nicknames?
As Jungkook finally was in front of you, he talked almost in a whisper. “Hey”
“Hey” The cold tone with which you replied didn’t escape Jungkook’s ears neither the way you seemed to look at him with the same indifference you did when you first met. “May I have a few words with you?”
Okay. You probably are about to tell him to go fuck himself. Or maybe you want to patch things up, although he should be the one to say sorry first. Why does he have to be this coward? He should’ve been the first one to approach, not you.
Seeing that Jungkook was muted and spacing out, you decided to talk again.
“It’ll be just a few minutes, I’m not gonna take much of your time.”
He wanted to tell you that you could take all of his time whenever you wanted, but for some reason he just nodded and followed you from behind like a puppy while you started to walk towards a corridor that could give you two a little more privacy.
As he walked behind you, he could feel the trails of your scent that were being left behind. Oh, how much he’d missed it.
Suddenly, you stop your tracks and Jungkook mimics you. You turn around looking him straight to his eyes. He gulps at how beautiful you look. Always so ridiculously beautiful.
He wonders if you are even aware of how gorgeous you look. You probably do, how could you not?
“Okay, I'll go straight to the point” you said as you looked as if you were gathering your thoughts. “About what you said last time, I may be just a good fuck, but I know at least I’m not a hypocrite.”
Oh fuck. That's not what I think of you, I was just angry. That's what Jungkook had in his mind, but of course, he didn't dare to open his mouth. He just let you do the talking.
“Let me be clear with this.” You said as you took a step closer to him, making him even more nervous with your stern gaze. “You are free to do whatever the fuck you want with whoever you want to, as well as I am. I’m not gonna take any bullshit from you or anyone. I mean, you even had the audacity to act all jealousy while you were the one covered in hickeys, and right after I’d heard a girl moaning through the phone when I called you.”
God. So, you heard the moaning. And you did notice his neck covered in hickeys. That's phenomenal, Jungkook thought.
“Y/N, I’m s-” He was cut off by your hand in front of his face.
“No.”
“What?”
“Don’t even dare to say you’re sorry now. If it weren’t for me, we wouldn’t even be talking. You had plenty of time to be sorry, I think I gave you enough space for you to do that. You are a big boy; you should know by now when to say sorry.”
Those big sad puppy eyes he gave you almost made you give in for a moment.
But you had to do this. This went too far already. You know you’re a valuable person, that’s what you’ve been trying to be with him – at least these past weeks when you started to get closer - and you’re not going to lower to anyone who tries to convince you otherwise, even though you’re pretty sure that everything he said to you last time you talked, were being said in the heat of the moment.
You are certain that he’s not a bad guy, he’s just an idiot sometimes.
But as you said before, you gave him space. Almost a week. You gave him enough time to fix things between you two and he didn't do anything. Not a thing.
Little did you know, it wasn’t because he didn’t want to. But because he was trying to gather his balls once and for all and apologize properly, he didn’t want to fuck up this time. He planned to apologize this week no matter what, but of course, you were not a mind reader and for you, his silence during this whole week only showed indifference which it kind of hurt you even more.
“Look.” You sighed before continuing “I don’t particularly enjoy ending things in bad terms.”
Ending? Jungkook started panicking at your words.
“That’s why I wanted to talk to you first.” You said gesturing with your hands between you two “To give whatever this was, a nice proper closing since we’ll probably keep seeing each other’s faces from time to time.”
That’s when Jungkook felt all the air was being sucked from his lungs. Suddenly he seemed to gather some courage and started talking.
“Y/N, isn't this too much? Can't we talk about this at least?”
Don’t make this any harder, was all you could think of at that moment.
“Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I just know that you were extremely rude with me, and you didn't even have the decency to apologize.”
“Please, just-” You cut him off again.
“No. You hurt me. You are clearly too used to girls running after you, but I’ve told you this before and I’ll say it again, I’m not gonna run after you.”
He knew that. You were too good for him after all.
“And honestly, if you think I'm just a good fuck, I don't think it will change much for you ending this thing between us.”
For a moment he thought he saw in your eyes hurt, he felt awful.
No, you’re not just a good fuck.
He wanted to say that. He wanted to say so many things. He wanted to hug you and say that he is sorry, that he wanted to reach out so many times during these past few days, but he was afraid, he didn't know how to approach.
He never had to do this before. He never cared enough. He didn't know how to deal with these kinds of situations or his feelings. He was a coward.
You in the other hand, just wanted to get over with this because if you kept looking at those big puppy eyes for one more second, you knew you'd gave in and end up kissing him.
It was always like this between you two. One minute you were getting along and the next you were barking up a storm. Maybe, it was like a little game to you both. You’d fight, then make up.
The game was fun – until it wasn’t anymore - and it seemed to be all you’ve known since you two first met.
Your stomach was twisting in ways that you hadn't felt before. You decided to ignore it and make one last effort to end this the best way you could.
“Well, I've said everything I wanted to say.” You said as you straighten up your posture and tried to sound as unaffected as possible. “It was a pleasure, Jeon. Quite literally.” You said as you lightly chuckled and then leaned in to give Jungkook one last peck on his left cheek.
Why did all of this feel so wrong?
You turned around not wanting to wait for his response and walked away, leaving a spaced out Jungkook standing all alone in that corridor while he kept his hand placed where you last kissed him.
“I'm an idiot.” He said almost in a whisper. But you weren’t there anymore to hear him saying it.
Tumblr media
“You coming tonight?” You hear a male voice from behind you, startling you. A second ago, you were all alone in the library searching a book for one of your exams and out of the sudden someone’s by your side.
You quickly turn around to see a smiling Taehyung.
“Gosh, Tae. You scared me.” You said with your hand placed on your chest trying to calm your nerves. “At least say hi first.”
Taehyung giggled. “Hi, Y/N. Are you coming tonight?”
“You’re so weird” You sighed. “Where?”
“Duh, to Jin’s party of course.” He reminded to you.
Fuck, you had completely forgotten about that. Jungkook had definitely invited you.
Of course, that was at some point when you were in good terms. Not that you are in bad terms now, at least you don’t think so after the last talk you two had but it might be still a little bit awkward to see him again this soon.
Although you do miss his stupid face. Ugh, it’s frustrating.
You were unaware that Jungkook had actually begged Taehyung earlier to remind you about the party tonight and also convince you to go.
“No way. I’m not meddling between you two, Kook.” Said Taehyung as he finished eating the pizza that Jungkook so generously bought him out of nowhere.
Now he understood why he bought it in the first place.
“Hyung, please. You’re not meddling. You just have to tell Y/N to come to the party.”
Taehyung groaned in frustration knowing very well that Jungkook wasn’t gonna back off unless he said yes. “Fine. But you better fix everything tonight because I’m not doing this again.”
“That’s the idea.” Said Jungkook as he gave his friend a triumphant smile.
So, Taehyung’s mission here was clear. He couldn’t take a no for an answer, that’s why he wasn’t expecting your next response.
“Mm, I don’t think so. I don’t have an outfit. Plus, I should probably be studying.” You excused yourself knowing damn well you had the time to spare, since you already delivered your pending essays, while you kept seeking for the book you needed.
Taehyung made a sound of complaint, before slightly hitting your head with the first book he saw. “Hey! Tae, what the fuck?!”
“Studying is for losers. Midterms aren’t even until next week! Plus, everyone’s going tonight.” He took a pause before he whispered, “Even your boyfriend, Jungkookie.”
He winked before you grabbed the book whacking him back. “You know damn well he is not my boyfriend, and you still sleep with a fucking night light. Talk to me nicely.”
“How the hell do you know that? Did Anyra tell you? It was only one time!” He defended himself. “We had just finished watching a scary movie. What else did you expect from me, lady?”
Anyra did tell you about it and you knew that the truth was far from that. You giggled. “Sure, whatever you say, Taehyungie.”
He rolled his eyes. “Are you sure you don’t want to come?” He continued to pressure you regardless. “Who else will accompany me to down five shots in the span of a minute?”
“No one?! That’s insane, Taehyung.”
“We’ve done it before, at my party! Now you’re just shaming me.” He mumbled in disappointment. “Whatever, stay here then. I’ll be downing my tenth shot by the time you realize the mistake you committed by staying behind.”
You shook your head smiling to yourself. You’d learned pretty quickly that Taehyung could be so stubborn at times.
In all honesty, sometimes you needed spontaneous night outs, and he was the perfect person to do almost anything chaotic and stupid with, but tonight was not the night.
Midterms were coming in soon, you needed to stay focused - or maybe you simply didn't want to bump into Jungkook and possibly see him in the arms of someone else for the night - but Taehyung didn’t need to know all that.
“Sure Tae, have fun. Let me know how it goes.”
He hummed. “See you loser.”
“Byeeee!” You shouted, watching him storm out the room and maybe you would. No, you will for sure - regret staying home, but only time would tell.
Tumblr media
And you in fact did regret staying home.
So much so, that you had put on the first top and skirt you saw within your closet that fits you best and nearly sprinted to the party. You weren’t there to impress anyone, but you did need to at least look presentable - enough to possibly be fucked mid-party.
Well, no, maybe you were there to impress a certain someone, but any extra attractions were a plus.
You were there for a good time; you could use some distraction from college or the image of Jungkook’s sad doe eyes last time you saw him.
It was so hard for you to cope with your feelings. You ended things with Jungkook because you thought it was the best for you, but you've been hesitating non-stop about it. You hate how much it affects you, it's not the first time you end things with someone, but it is the first time that you feel some kind of regret.
But you shouldn't, no... you shouldn't.
“Y/N! You made it!” Jin tugged you in for a hug, a wide smile plastered on his face. “The boys will be so happy to see you!”
You smiled into his hug. “I’m happy to be here, Jinnie! I’ll go find them. You enjoy your party!”
He nodded, letting you go, waving a final goodbye as he disappeared into the crowd. The party was much bigger than you anticipated. Everyone was grinding on each other clearly already so fucked out of their own minds.
A lot of regrets were going to happen tonight definitely, you just hoped you weren’t a part of them.
“Y/NNNNN!” Taehyung sang into your ear, as he pulled you in for a bear hug. “You came!!!”
You giggled, hugging him back tightly. “I did. You…look already very happy!” In other words, Taehyung was completely wasted, explaining his huge smile. “Bet you won’t be happy in the morning though; I promise you that—”
He cut you off with a hand in front of your face. “Don’t ruin my good time. I knew you would make it. How could you miss this after all?” Taehyung put on an ‘I told you so’ face and he was right.
“Yeah, I know I couldn’t stay away, unfortunately.” You sighed, crossing your arms. “Where are the other boys anyways?”
Taehyung squinted his eyes, clearly up to no good in that round head of his. “You mean… Jungkookieee?”
“No.” Definitely lying, but you couldn’t let him know that. “I mean the other- other boys. Like Yoongi.”
Jungkook was so bummed when his friend told him that he couldn’t convince you to go to the party, he’d expected for you to go and talk things through in a more chill environment like this one.
Taehyung could see you were lying from a mile away, you clearly wanted to see Jungkook too. So stubborn, you two were really for each other, he thought.
He smirked. “Sure! Jungkook is around the corner, I saw him head over there earlier. Now if you excuse me, I have business to attend. Anyra is across the pool, and she has been eyeing me since she got here. I think she wants a piece of this handsome face again.”
Your face turned to disgust. “Yup. Let’s never say things like that ever again. Now bye.”
You didn’t admit it but, you were totally looking for Jungkook. There was no need to say it aloud, Taehyung knew that very well.
The entire time you had been - attempting and failed to – studying that day, Jungkook was all you could think of.
That and his usual stupid flirty behavior towards you. You missed it.
Were you too harsh when you last talked to him? Was it a mistake to end everything?
But then again, this game you guys were playing was getting old, it was just a matter of time before you both crashed and burned.
Jungkook was exactly where Taehyung had pointed, he was, except he was with a girl. The same girl you had seen him around so many times before you started this whole thing between you two. Seulgi.
Jungkook was fresh off being ‘dumped’ by you, if that’s what you call it when you end a relationship that you’re trying to pretend is just a casual friend with benefits thing.
Whatever you call it; it had happened less than 72 hours ago and from the looks of it; Jungkook and Seulgi were already rekindling things.
That stupid scene hurt you in more ways than one.
You couldn’t help, but to feel jealous. You didn’t want to care, you ended things with him, he could do whatever he wanted to, you were clear with that, but you couldn’t take your eyes of those two.
That obnoxious girl was sitting so close to him talking about who knows what. In all honesty you could see he didn’t seem so interested, avoiding all eye contact with her, but still he paid enough attention.
“Y/N!” Your attention turned to the person who called your name. You smiled as you saw that it was none other than Mingyu. “You’re here too!”
“Mingyu hi! Yeah, guess I am!” He surprised you as he wrapped his arms around your waist lifting you up into a warm hug.
Every time you saw this guy, he had always treated you so well, he was exactly like his scent, so sweet and pretty.
“You know Jin too?” You asked him curiously. Mingyu nodded, placing you back down carefully.
“Well, yes and no. He is friends with my best friend over there.” He said pointing to a guy in a corner who was gulping down what it seemed to be a tequila shot.
“Oh, wow, it’s definitely a small world. So, are you having fun so far?”
“Always.” He said as he smiled. “What do you say? Wanna dance?” He held out a hand, kind eyes.
You looked past his shoulder, Jungkook had noticed you the minute Mingyu decided to yell your name across the room, he didn’t look happy, not in the slightest.
He was surprised and insanely happy to see you there but then the surprise and happiness turned into anger and jealousy when he saw who you were with.
This was your chance. Your chance to be petty of course.
“I’d love to!” You said without hesitation.
Tumblr media
There was never a time where you didn’t have a good time with Mingyu, especially when dancing. That reminded you to the night you ended up sleeping together, you remembered that before ending the night in your apartment you had danced with him for a long ass time.
He was never too handsy, never missed a single beat, always led well. But he was also a natural flirt, and you weren’t one to reject a playful endeavor.
“What a dream.” Mingyu whispered against your ear, hands still laid carefully against your back. “Dancing is always so much fun with you.”
You smiled, swaying your hips to the beat as you flirtatiously said, “This kinda feels like a déjà vu to me.”
He smiled in return, keeping up with your pace. “Your friend from the other day is staring.”
You frowned. “What do you mean?”
Mingyu flipped you around, your back was now against his front. “Look.”
Oh. That friend.
Jungkook was staring and he was staring hard. He did not look one bit happy, nothing about his expression screamed content. He noticed your attention on him, but he didn’t dare drop eye contact.
Instead, he decided to be even more petty than you and brought Seulgi against him, whispering something unknown against her ear. She smiled, tilting her head, her arms traveled up his chest leaning into him, but his eyes stayed on you.
He knew you were trying to get back at him. And God knows he knew damn well how to be petty. You are not the one to talk either.
You wanna play, Jeon Jungkook? The game begins now.
You dropped eye contact first, forcing yourself to focus only on Mingyu even though all your mind was replaying nonstop was Jungkook’s face. You could feel your ass pressed harder against Mingyu as the beat sped up. Your arms traveled up finding the back of his head, he tilted slightly brushing his soft lips against your neck. “I think you’re going to get me in trouble, sweetie.”
The situation was different now. You didn't think Jungkook even cared. It must had been something with his ego that was making him angry to see you with another guy that wasn’t him. There was no way he cared about you.
If only you knew what was going on in Jungkook’s mind at that exact moment.
You, like Jungkook, were popular – even though you preferred having a low profile -, everyone who knew you liked you, and, in more than one occasion, he had clearly heard that, apparently, everyone wanted to fuck you. Even females.
He absolutely agreed; after all, you were funny, smart, full of fire and absolutely gorgeous to the point one can’t look away when you’re in the same room as he was doing at that moment.
He was very much aware of the fact that the short little piece of chaos that he was staring at was not his girlfriend and, therefore, you could do whatever you want with whoever you want, and that was what had been eating him alive for the last few days since you ended things with him.
“Who fucking cares?” You whimpered, feeling Mingyu drop a kiss right below your ear. He opened his mouth barely and his teeth came in contact next. He licked before he sucked gently. You knew he was leaving a mark, but you didn’t even care at that moment.
Your hooded eyes locked with Jungkook’s, but it didn’t last long. Mingyu pulled away from your neck too suddenly. “From the looks of it, your friend cares.”
He came closer with his head tilted, whispering in your ear. “I don’t mind giving you a hand if you wanna make him jealous.”
You chuckled at the mischievousness that Mingyu’s words implied. “What a gentleman. But that sounds too petty for me.”
Liar. You were already trying to make him jealous.
He smiled and leaned down slightly, the angle making him look big, intimidating. “Well, you can think of it as taking out your frustrations on me. You seem to be too stressed lately and I wouldn’t mind. Not at all.”
Hot. This guy is so fucking hot. You would be riding him by now if it weren’t for Jungkook’s hard gaze on you. He was screwing with your head. Maybe Mingyu was a good distraction for you. If you were here with Joy and Jihyo you know they would totally encourage you to enjoy yourself with him.
After all, you and Jungkook are no longer a thing. Well, you never were, did you?
You scoffed, and smiled wide, flashing straight teeth as you said, “I might take your offer.” Then you shrugged. “We’ll see how the night goes.”
Tumblr media
It was fine. Truly.
You weren’t together. You weren’t anything more than friends? Who occasionally happened to find their way into each other’s bed. Only when you were stressed, or it’s been a tough week. Sometimes you’d use it as a chance to let off steam before a big exam, or just when you were lonely, when your friends were out and about in your college town but neither of you had a desire to join them.
It was the perfect arrangement really. Well, not arrangement because you never really stated anything about this, but it was always implicit for you. ‘Friends’ that helped each other out, scratching an itch. Simple, no strings attached. A buddy you could get your jollies off with and then go grab a burger together without it being a big deal.
That’s what you had with one another.
So, there was absolutely no reason for you to feel a gnawing heat in your belly, eating away at the lining of your stomach, causing your insides to churn as Jungkook casually brushed a lock of long, dark curls over Seulgi’s shoulder, fingers skimming down the bare skin of the woman’s bicep as he grinned at her in that way that made his dimples crease in his cheeks.
Your smile, dammit.
Except it wasn’t. You didn’t own that. He is perfectly free to give it to whomever he wished. The thought didn’t comfort you whatsoever. Not while you were still dancing with Mingyu and watching Jungkook flirt with another girl.
Suddenly, it was too much. The people, the noise, those dark brown eyes that winked at you from across the room when Jungkook caught your eyes on him. It was all wrong.
“Did you mean what you said before?” You asked, fixing Mingyu with a look he couldn’t quite discern.
You should kick yourself for letting your emotions get the best of you. This didn’t happen before Jungkook came into your life. If you ever saw a guy that you slept with, being with another girl you would brush it off and move on to the next guy in line. You wouldn’t give two fucks.
“Which part?” Mingyu returned while studying your pretty face with interest.
“About taking out my frustrations on you?” You replied vaguely in return.
“You want to yell or hit me after we had such a great time dancing?” He asked, feigning offense, but smirking anyway.
You chuckled as you rolled your eyes, shaking your head. “Not quite.” Your eyes flicking to his. “I had something else in mind.” You added shameless, taking a tentative step towards him and hoping the look on your face and vagueness of your words have been suggestive enough for him to get the point.
There was something akin to desire in his eyes when you took another step, one that closed most of the space between you. He made his own move forward, eliminating the rest and conveying his consent, which was all the motivation you needed to rise up on your tiptoes, grab a fistful of his shirt, and press your lips to his.
It was vastly different from kissing Jungkook, which had still made you feel worried and self-conscious that you might mess things up each time. With Mingyu there was really nothing to lose so you kissed him with a reckless abandon of inhibitions you could never be capable of with Jungkook.
When it came to Jeon Jungkook, there were too many feelings involved, good and bad, too much intimacy.
With Mingyu it was a blank slate, for the most part, which is much easier to work with as far as escaping reality went than hooking up with a man that you’d shared too much of your personal life in a short period of time, things that you didn’t usually share with anyone.
Mingyu was a decidedly good kisser, which was no surprise. But there was an almost smugness you felt radiating off of him when you left out a soft moan of pleasure against his lips as his fingers squeezed your hips roughly whilst his other hand stroked up and down your back, warm and heavy. He knew he was talented, of course, and he was not even remotely shy about making that known.
“We shouldn’t do this here, gorgeous” He stated, breathless in his own right after a few all-consuming moments of letting his lips devour yours wantonly.
You left out a frustrated huff, both at the statement and the break in the passionate series of kisses you’d been sharing that had been doing a world of good relieving the frustrations and stress that had been so overwhelming for you in the moments before.
You know that it’s true, what he’d said. Thankfully, you weren’t lost in your thoughts long as he started talking again. “We could go upstairs, if you want.” He said, not a hint of shyness in his words.
“Sure, let's do that.” You said in immediate agreement, disentangling yourself from him and heading upstairs.
As soon as Jungkook saw you and Mingyu kissing and then going upstairs, he got up from his seat consumed in rage and said, “Fuck this, I’m getting the fuck out of here.”
Before Seulgi had a chance to say anything, Jungkook was darting his way out of the room, beelining down the hall and weaving through people until he reached the backdoor.
It was just as lively out there, people set up playing beer pong and a few smoking beside the hedges, laughing together, but at least there wasn’t the suffocating, overheated atmosphere of too many bodies crammed into one room. And the music was blessedly muted out there.
Maybe he could breathe for a few minutes, get himself back under control. Maybe he should just go home, he thought absently. And with that he just got onto his car and went straight home, trying not to think anymore of you and Mingyu, and failing miserably every time.
Going to that party had been a mistake.
Seulgi on the other hand, wasn’t even surprised. She had seen how hard he was staring at you before you went upstairs, one of his veins at his neck was about to pop anytime soon. She also knew Jungkook was just using her to make you jealous, but as long as she got some action she didn’t care. And now she was left high and dry.
She would have to look for another guy to screw with, what a waste of time.
Tumblr media
“You want something to drink first?” Asked Mingyu, watching lingeringly as you walked up the stairs.
“No, I’d rather just…” You bit your lip and shrugged, your eyes casting to his, not bothering to feel embarrassed by the implied forwardness of your half-statement.
Now that you weren’t being disoriented by strobe lights, on the corner of a dark room, he really took in just how hot you looked with the clothing you were wearing. Just the sight of you like that was such a turn on, your curves were more than just a little enticing.
He couldn’t wait to have you again. He didn’t even care if you were hung up on the guy that was staring at you downstairs because Mingyu could clearly see that you were affected by Jungkook. But tonight, you were his again and he wanted to be inside you no matter what.
He swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing at your words. It didn’t take any further convincing for him to comply, tucking his hand into yours and leading you towards the first bedroom in sight.
The room you got in had a design theme of all dark colors and sharp angles. There was a king size bed adorned in all black and you found it made neatly.
“So, what exactly do you have in mi-” Mingyu couldn’t finish his question, because your lips were pressed to his again with the same passion as before, as if unpausing a movie you’d put on hold for the ride upstairs.
His hands started at your face, cupping your cheeks as he kissed you back until moving them to grasp the backs of your thighs and urged your legs to leave the ground in favor of wrapping around his waist.
He started pressing you gently into the mattress as his body came down heavily over yours. His lips start their southern descent, trailing down between your breasts and over your bare stomach as your body writhed under his with the pleasure elicited from such actions.
“Mingyu, you don’t have to– oh ,” Your sentence faded off into a moan as he dipped his face between your legs, his tongue swiping over already apparent arousal as his nose bumped up against your most sensitive area. All this, and he hadn’t so much as removed your panties yet.
“Stop talking now, Y/N” He muttered against your thigh before resuming his action, using his tongue to work you up appropriately.
Fuck. He sounded hot.
If this were Jungkook, you’d be almost embarrassed at how fast he’s able to make you cum. At the graceless moans that had fallen from your lips as your hips had bucked up wildly from under the strength of his restraint. But this was Mingyu, and you weren’t thinking about much of anything besides your immediate pleasure. Well, that… and Jungkook.
You quickly brushed him off and concentrated on reaching your orgasm as you felt Mingyu’s tongue rapidly licking and sucking your clit. A minute and few moans later and you were releasing your juices, pleasure running all over your body.
You were not sure you loved the satisfied smile Mingyu was wearing, clearly proud at how fast he had made you come undone. “We can stop there, if you want, gorgeous.” He said sweetly.
This time, Jungkook was the furthest thing from your mind, lust clouting all of your inner thoughts. “Just fuck me already, Mingyu.” You said with uncharacteristic grit, your chest rising and falling rapidly as you looked at him with your pupils fully blown.
He actually groaned because hearing you say that sentence with his name tacked onto the end just did something to him that he wasn’t quite expecting.
He slipped back up your body, his lips pressing to yours with the taste of you still on them. His hand moved to where his mouth had just been and you arched your back, rising up into his touch desirously. “How do you want it?” He asked, his mouth on your neck now, his tongue swirled against your skin as he sucked lightly but not enough to leave a mark.
“I don’t care.” You said, breathless as you squeezed your eyes shut, squirming underneath his ministrations, craving more from him in an unabashed way.
“Well, I do.” He said pointedly, his thumb brushing over your cheekbone with greater affection than you expected. “Now tell me again, Y/N” He dragged his lips down from your neck to the valley between your breasts, nuzzling his nose against your flesh. His hands slipped up your back and under the small fabric of your top. “How do you want it?” He repeated the question, his breath ghosting over your skin.
You had a default answer, you thought. Typically, you liked it on top, because you enjoyed having control. But at that moment, you felt like being powerless to someone else and somehow you also felt safe letting that person be Mingyu.
You slid your hand down his torso until you could feel his hardness strained against the confines of his zipped-up jeans. You bit your lip at the way it spanned most of your palm, you remembered how big he was. Not as big as Jungkook, but big enough to make you cum.
“Hard,” You admitted without shyness, the double intender not lost on you. “...and rough.” You added, rolling over and rising up onto your knees, pulling your top off and letting it fall to the floor.
“Fuck. Is that really what you like or just what you think you deserve?” He asked a question that felt more loaded and accusatory than maybe he meant for it to. But he trailed his hand from your shoulder down your spine to settle on your hip anyway, his lips following the same path briefly, as he ridded you of the rest of your clothes and his quickly followed suit.
Suddenly, you felt the sound of something near you vibrating. What was that? A phone?
“Hey,” You said through gritted teeth, your annoyance increasing slightly at the sound of it while he was flicking a condom wrapper to the floor, pressing himself against you wantonly. “I-I think your phone is vibrating.” You whined.
“It probably can wait,” He said, laughing gently at your eagerness, but not at your expense. His fingers slipped teasingly to where his tongue had already tipped you over the precipice of pleasure with minimal effort. They were thick and wide, and two of them working together almost felt like he was giving you what you wanted if you closed your eyes.
That was until he really gave you what you wanted, and you realized just how incomparable the real thing is to those skillful fingers of his. You gasped at the fullness. It took a few long moments before the pressure faded into pleasure instead and you felt his hand slip over your breast and up towards your throat.
Now this is the type of escape you really needed. It was mindless, the way you’d lost yourself to the pleasure his rocking, vigorously paced hips provided you while his thumb traced patternless circles between your legs. Your mind finally achieved an escape from all of the hurtful things that these past few days usually plagued your thoughts.
When your second orgasm of the night hit you and Mingyu finally released his seeds on the condom, you were left with nothing there, not even the anxiety to feel self-conscious about the way he made you moan loudly or beg him for more.
A few minutes later, you were both putting your clothes on again with silly smiles on your faces.
As soon as he finished putting his jeans again, with his chest on display for you to admire, he took a step towards you and cupped your face giving you a long kiss that almost made you undress him again. If it weren’t for his phone that was vibrating on his pocket, you probably would have.
He stopped the kiss and groaned. “Sorry, I should probably take that now.”
You giggled at his annoyed looks. “Yeah, go ahead.”
Based on the conversation he had with whoever called him, you realized it was probably one of his friends and Mingyu didn’t seem to be so happy when he finished talking over the phone.
“Fuck, I’m so sorry I have to leave, apparently my idiot best friend is completely wasted, and we came with my car, so I have to drive him home.”
“No worries. Thanks for helping to relieve my stress.” You said with a teasing smile.
Mingyu chuckled as he put his shirt on. “My pleasure. You know we can repeat it whenever you want to.”
You nodded. “I’ll keep that in mind”
He kissed you one last time and said “See you, Y/N.”
“See you, Mingyu.”
He waved you from the door and closed it as he left to let you finish cleaning up yourself. You were finishing putting your boots while sitting on the bed when the sound of the door opening made you giggle.
“Did you forget something, Min-“ You cut your own words and your smile dropped as soon as you turned around and saw someone that was not Mingyu standing there.
It was a guy you recognized seeing around campus, you had bumped into him a few times when you were going to classes or at the library. You usually don’t remember people’s faces that easily but there was something on his gaze that always unsettled you, he was creepy to say the least. He never talked to you but every time you saw him, he was either looking at you or near your classrooms which you thought it was because he had classes over there too but no.
The guy entered the room, closing the door behind him alarming you instantly.
You got up from the bed immediately with arms crossed, trying to look as unaffected as possible. “Ah. Excuse me. Who are you?”
The creep smirked and chuckled making you feel goosebumps on your skin, not the good ones.
You were fucked.

Hoseok was trying to decide if he wanted to open a third beer or just head to bed for the night when his phone rang. Groaning to himself, he fumbled in his pocket for the device.
Without even looking at the ID, he answered the phone. “Yes?”
“H-hobi?”
His bright usual persona raised immediately as he recognized the voice on the other end of the line. “Oh, hey darling, what’s up?”
“Hobi, I know it’s late but I-I…”
Something was off. Your voice was shaky with a definite huskiness that wasn’t usually present, and he could hear the tears threatening to fall with every word. “Y/N, what’s wrong?”
“I was at this p-party I went and…This guy, he-he cornered me-” Hobi’s blood ran cold “-and, uh, can you ju-just please come get me?”
“Are you hurt? What did he do to you?”
A massive sob was your only response.
Trying to keep his voice calm and level, he asked, “Where are you?”
“I ran off. I’m in the a-alley across from the li-library” you said between hiccupy cries.
“I’ll be right there.” Hobi paused, his voice softening slightly. “And hey, it’s gonna be okay, do you hear me? I want you to stay on the phone with me until I can get there. You don’t have to say anything, but I want to make sure I’m here if you need me. Can you do that?”
“Yeah.”
“Don’t worry, Y/N. I’ll be there as soon as possible.”
Hoseok tore through another red light as he sped across town trying to get to you. Since he had left his apartment, you hadn’t said a word over the phone but every once and a while he could hear a soft sniffle or stifled sob from your end and the sounds felt like a dagger to his heart.
Jung Hoseok. The two of you had become fast friends ever since the night he had met you at the bar where you used to hang out with Joy and Jihyo.
Jihyo would constantly talk about his classmate who also became her close friend and she had described him as someone who was always friendly and easygoing and that was certainly accurate as he had easily managed to break down the walls you normally built up around new people.
And soon, your chats at the bar grew into coffees before classes at the campus, which soon became watching movies on his or your couch while eating take-out on your days off.
He felt like a brother to you.
You didn’t have many friends outside of Joy and Jihyo. Or at least not the kind you could hang out with outside the prison walls of college. So, it was nice to have someone like him in your life.
As Hoseok pulled into the empty library parking lot and hurried across the street, he saw you almost immediately. Leaning up against the wall, you had your legs pulled tightly against your chest and your face buried in your knees. As you heard him approach, you sunk even deeper into yourself as if you were trying to disappear completely.
Slowing to a stop, Hoseok crouched down a few feet away from you. Calling out softly, he said, “Y/N, it’s just me. You have nothing to be afraid of anymore.”
You relaxed slightly, the tension easing out of your shoulders, but you still hid your face. “It’s okay, darling. No one will hurt you again, not while I’m around. I swear, but please can you let me see what happened? I need to see how bad it is.”
It took almost a full minute, but you cautiously peered up at him with a haunted look that sucked the air from Hoseok’s lungs.
Your lipstick was smeared across your split, bloody lip and down the side of your chin. Black trails of mascara dripped down your cheeks from the tears you had been crying, he also noticed your cheek near the bloody lip was red and a little bit swollen. Both your top and your skirt had been torn apart and one of your earrings appeared to have been ripped out. He could see a dozen different emotions cycling through your face: fear, relief, sadness, helplessness, gratitude, shame, pain.
“Oh, love,” he muttered under his breath as he straightened up and slowly began to approach you.
Without a word, he slid down the wall until he was seated beside you and the two of you just stared into the darkness of the night. Finally, after about five minutes of just sitting in silence, Hoseok whispered, “Are you alright?”
Still not looking him in the eye, you murmured, “Can you just take me home?” Your voice was hoarse and cracking, probably damaged from screaming for help.
“Of course, whatever you need.” Hoseok stood then offered you his hand.
You pulled back slightly, eyeing his hand as if it were a snake about to strike. The sight of you scared to even touch him, made Hoseok’s heart sink even further.
It wasn’t right. Not coming from the girl who would jump on his back in public and make him give her a piggyback ride. Who would idly run her fingers through his hair while his head rested in her lap during a movie. Yet now, just the thought of taking his hand seemed to terrify you.
Without moving his hand any closer or farther away, Hoseok said, “It’s okay, love. If you don’t want to take it, you don’t have to. I’m here to help any way I can. Just tell me what you need me to do.”
Hesitating for a moment longer, you finally cautiously placed your left hand in his outstretched right one. He gently wrapped his fingers around yours and slowly rubbed his calloused thumb over the back of your hand as he pulled you to your feet with a reassuring smile.
You stared down at your hands for a minute but then your bottom lip began to tremble. Without warning, you dove into Hoseok’s chest, wrapping your arms around his frame as you began to sob. He slowly returned the embrace, ready to back off at the slightest sign that you were uncomfortable. But you just buried yourself deeper into him.
He began rubbing your back, whispering softly that it was going to be okay. He rested his chin on the top of your head, feeling your sobs vibrating in his jaw. He had never seen you cry before this. Not even to shed a tear at a sad movie or when you dislocated your shoulder in the gym. And now seeing you fall apart in his arms was almost too much for Hoseok to bear.
When your tears finally subsided, he tried to lead you to his car. But when you tried taking a step, you hissed loudly and fell into him. Glancing at your foot, he saw your ankle was swollen to almost twice its normal size. So, he simply scooped you up in his arms and carried you across the street.
As he sat you down in the passenger seat of his car, you once again pulled your knees into your chest and curled up into a tight ball. Hoseok had a blanket in the back seat that he brushed off and draped over you. Then he got into the driver’s seat and took off for your apartment.
Neither one of you spoke the entire ride. Occasionally, he would glance over at you out of the corner of his eye, but you remained motionless, just staring out the window. And even when he stopped the car in your building parking lot and lifted you out of your seat, you still just stared blankly ahead.
He was able to get you to dig your keys out of your pocket, but it was still an almost robotic movement as your eyes remained lifeless and glazed.
Once inside your apartment, Hobi wasn’t quite sure what to do.
Should he place you in your bed so you could get some sleep? Help you take a shower and rinse off your blood? Should he sit you at the table and try to get you to eat something?
Finally, he decided to place you down on the couch so he could patch up your injuries first. He had grabbed the first aid kit from your bathroom. Having lived in your apartment for a few weeks last summer, he knew his way around and where you used to place those kinds of things. He began to lay out the bandages and disinfectants on your coffee table. Then he went to your freezer and grabbed two bags of frozen vegetables.
When he returned to the couch, he handed one to you. “Here. Place that over your cheek. It’ll help with the swelling.” He then used some of the gauze to wrap the other bag of vegetables around your ankle.
As you placed the frozen bag on your face, the cold seemed to rouse you from your state of shock. You seemed slightly more alert than you had been in the car. So, while he opened a disinfectant wipe to clean off your face, Hoseok muttered, “Do you wanna talk about it?”
You winced as the wipe dabs at your busted lip, but you whispered, “It was just some drunk asshole I remember seeing at the campus. He never talked to me, but I kept seeing him leering at me. He never actually tried to approach me until now, so I didn’t think much about it.”
He nodded and sighed deeply. “Where are the girls? I’ve told you again and again, it is too dangerous to be going to a college party alone,” Hoseok said, finishing cleaning your lip.
“I know, I just needed to get some stress away, and Joy and Jihyo were busy today. I knew some friends would be there, so I just decided to go.”
Jungkook. You went there because you wanted to see Jungkook, although you were never going to admit it out loud.
You also weren’t going to admit that the first person you looked for help right after the attempt of assault was him, but you weren’t able to find him anywhere at the party and you just wanted to get the fuck out of that house.
You’d already turned lots of people’s attention on your looks, which you hated to even think about. People were probably already gossiping. You remember Anyra and Taehyung’s horror faces as soon as they saw you, you didn’t even give them time to ask what had happened to you as you quickly ran off.
You probably should message Anyra later to explain yourself. You don’t even understand how you ended up in this fucked up situation.
“You could have called me. I would’ve gone with you.” Hoseok cut your thoughts as he started wiping some of your ruined makeup off your cheeks.
“I didn’t want to bother you; I remembered you told me that you wanted to stay in this weekend.” The words were spoken so softly, Hoseok almost didn’t hear them.
“Darling, you’re never a bother. You know that. I just want you to be safe. I need you to be safe.” He reached for your right hand, but you flinched and grunted in pain as he touched it.
Examining it closer, he saw, like your ankle, it was swollen not as much but it was probably sprained. With a sigh, he pulled out more gauze and began to wrap your wrist.
As you shifted to allow him a better angle, your torn shirt slid open. You quickly readjusted it, but a terrible thought occurred to Hoseok.
He cleared his throat and looked around the room nervously. “Listen, I don’t really know how to ask this, but it’s important. Did he...I-I, mean, I saw your clothes were torn….so did he... do anything to you, you know…in that way.”
You ducked your head in embarrassment but shook it slightly. “No. He tried but….” You just shook your head again.
Hoseok let out a small sigh of relief. It was bad enough what that asshole did, but if he had been able to go through with his intent... No, his blood boiled just thinking about it.
You nudged him slightly in the side and his attention snapped back to you. He realized he had been clenching his fists so hard, one or two of his nails had actually broken his skin, leaving small crescent moon shaped cuts on his palms. Clearing his throat, he turned his focus back to your arm.
As he finished wrapping your wrist, he nodded at your fingers. “Does whatever happened to your wrist have to do with why your knuckles are all bruised up?”
“Yeah, I did what Jiji taught me. I punched the guy in the throat.”
Jihyo had attended a self-defense training a few years ago and she constantly asked to practice with you and Joy whatever she had learnt. She always said, “You never know when a girl would need to use her fists to protect herself”. And how right she was.
Hoseok chuckled proudly. “Really? Good girl.”
“Yeah, but that’s when he hit me in the face, the fucker reacted faster than I thought.” The smile dropped from Hoseok’s face as he watched you move the bag of vegetables and tenderly touch the bruising around your left cheek. “We started struggling and that’s when he tore my clothes and twisted my hand, he tried to-…touch me and I-I grabbed the first thing I saw near me, I think it was a lamp and I hit him as hardest as I could with that thing in the face and that’s when I ran off.”
“I’m so sorry, love. I really wish you wouldn’t have to go through this at all.”
“Not your fault. I would have been a lot worse off if Jiji hadn’t taught me what she did. I’ll have to thank her later for that.” You glanced down at your lap. “And thanks for everything tonight, Hobi. I-I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t come to get me.” Your voice was growing thick with tears once again.
“Anytime. I’m always here for you.” Hoseok squeezed the fingers of your uninjured hand tightly before saying, “Well, all good to go. Just give it a few days, and you should be good as new.”
Hoseok silently cursed himself for his choice of words. While physically you might be better in just a few days’ time, he knew that the emotional and mental scars created tonight might never really go away. “Um, uh, is there anything else I can do for you right now? Anything I can get you?”
“Can you just……just hold me for a while?” you whispered softly as your voice broke a little.
“Of course, love. Whatever you need.”

Next day morning, Jungkook was on his way to the field, to meet his friends as usual. Jin, Taehyung and Yoongi would probably be already there. Jimin hasn’t shown up since he got into the fight with Jungkook. They haven’t talked since then.
Which made Jungkook think how everything got so messed up during the last few months. Not only he ended up punching one of his oldest and best friends – although Jimin totally deserved it – but he also managed to fuck things up with you.
Last night he almost couldn’t even sleep, thoughts of you and that guy in the party flooded his mind. He knows you’ve probably slept with him. And maybe you were probably still in his arms.
He hated to think that you were with someone else, he tried not to think of it but failed miserably every single time. He knew he couldn’t demand anything from you, not when you ended things with him. And to begin with, you weren’t even exclusive when you were ’together’.
He should’ve apologized earlier.
He knew he was being unreasonable when he treated you like shit the other day. If it weren’t because you called him and interrupted his shenanigans with that girl in his car the other day, he probably would have slept with her too. He couldn’t blame you for sleeping with someone else.
Maybe he even pushed you to sleep with that guy. He never acted as petty as last night. He wasn’t even listening what Seulgi was saying to him at the party, she was probably trying to get laid – as usual – but he wasn’t in the mood, not when his mind was elsewhere. On you.
But when he saw you with Mingyu, he couldn’t help it. He got so angry. He was the one that should have danced with you at that party, not that guy. You made him feel all sort of things that he never felt before. This was beyond frustrating.
As he walked through the field, he could see from a far his friends were engaged in a conversation. Anyra was there too.
“Yeah, I talked with Y/N about what happened last night, she texted me back a few minutes ago.” Jungkook heard Anyra talking.
Oh, no. The last thing he needs is everyone talking in front of him about who you screwed with last night.
“Please. I don’t want to hear who Y/N slept with.” Said Jungkook with a sour expression on his face.
Anyra and the other guys turned their heads to Jungkook with furrowed eyebrows.
“Did someone drop you on the head when you were a baby?” said Yoongi with his arms crossed over his chest and his usual cold tone.
Taehyung intervened seeing Jungkook’s confused face, he realized he might not know what happened since he left the party earlier. “Wait. Do you not know what happened to Y/N yesterday?”
Jungkook felt like his blood ran cold all of the sudden. “What the fuck are you talking about? Did something bad happen to her?”
His friends looked at each other. A few seconds of silence followed.
“Guys, can someone tell me what the fuck is happening?” Jungkook insisted.
“Calm down, Kook” Jin sighed as he explained “A guy at my party tried to assault her, she fought with him and managed to escape.”
“Poor Y/N, she looked li-“ Taehyung stopped talking as he saw Jungkook leaving “Hey! I’m talking! Where the fuck are you going Jungkook?”
“I forgot I had an essay to write. See you later guys.”
All his friends started laughing. They obviously knew he was lying.
“He hasn’t written an essay in his entire life.” Yoongi pointed out as he chuckled.
“I bet the essay’s name is Y/N.” added Anyra teasingly.
Taehyung watched his friend running towards his car. “He’s so whipped, he just doesn’t want to see it.”

Hoseok had stayed the night with you to make you company, he knew you were still pretty shaken up about last night’s events. Joy and Jihyo also came to your place last night as soon as Hoseok told them what had happened, and they decided to stay with you too.
The girls both had compromises this morning that they couldn’t miss and after a long hour of convincing them that you were okay and that they should go, they did.
You felt lucky and proud of the friends you made. You might not have a lot of friends, but they were without a doubt, the best that you could ever had.
You were watching Netflix on your couch when Hoseok came back with a pizza box you easily recognized in one of his hands and a convenience store bag in the other.
“You got us pizza from Hierin’s? Ohhhh yeessss, you know how much I love that pizza.”
Hobi chuckled. “It wasn’t me. Guess someone left it at your doorstep. I thought you might have asked for a delivery.”
With furrowed brows you said “Huh? No. I didn’t. Who would do that?”
“Maybe Jungkook. I’m pretty sure I saw him parked at the front of the building.”
Jungkook? What the hell was he doing here? Maybe Taehyung and Anyra told him something about what happened yesterday. Most likely Taehyung opened his big mouth.
You immediately went to check over your window and it was indeed Jungkook’s car that was parked in front of your building entrance. You decided to text him. Last time you had a proper talk with each other was when you said that you wanted to end things, it felt a little bit weird texting him again.
Y/N: Hey, where are you?
Few seconds later his response came in.
JK: Hey. I’m at the bar near the campus having a beer with the guys and some girls. What’s up?
Liar. You chuckled seeing his idiotic response. Was he patrolling the area surrounding your building?
Little did you know, he was. He wasn’t gonna admit it because he thought it might sound lame and maybe you wouldn’t want him to be there after everything that happened between you two. He also bought you the pizza from your favorite place, he remembered one time you had mentioned it.
Y/N: Home. Just bored. Well, have fun!
Huh? What? You just cut him off like that. Jungkook wanted to keep talking, he was expecting for you to say that you wanted to see him or maybe tell him about last night. He started typing as he tried to think what the hell to respond.
“So, I guess the bar is actually your car.”
Jungkook almost jumped of his seat, his phone dropping on the car’s floor as you surprised him standing right next to his window.
He almost felt like crying when he saw you. You had your lip cut and the surrounding area and cheek a little bit bruised up. He saw you had gauze around one of your wrists, your knuckles were clearly bruised up. Even like that, you still looked like the most beautiful woman he ever laid eyes on.
He was going to kill the motherfucker who did this to you.
“Uh..n-no, I was just about to leave when you texted me.” Said as he stammered his response.
Your lips twitched. You wanted to laugh at his face so bad. He is really bad at acting. “You are all alone, I thought you said you were with some girls.”.
“I-I was but I was feeling tired, so I left alone.”
It was so amusing to see him trying to elaborate a lie.
You sighed. “Oh, well. You should get going then and have some rest.” Jungkook just nodded sadly. Maybe he was expecting for you to say something else.
As you walked back to your building you suddenly stopped and turned around looking him straight to those beautiful doe eyes and gave him a smile. “Oh, I almost forgot. Thanks for the pizza, JK.”
JK. You never called him by his nickname. It was always either Jeon or Jungkook.
Jungkook felt the way he started blushing instantly at your words. JK. It sounded so much better in your lips.
Have some balls, Jungkook. He encouraged himself. He couldn’t let you go just like that so, he instantly got out of his car and ran towards you, startling you as he hugged you from behind.
“I’m sorry, I’m so so fucking sorry. About the way I treated you, about what happened to you last night. I’ve should’ve been there for you. I’ve said so many hurtful things too. You’re not just a good fuck, you are an amazing person. I care so much about you. I-I just got so angry and didn’t measure what I said, you don’t deserve to be treated like that. Please Y/N forgive me, I miss spending time with you.”
You were left speechless. You weren’t expecting to hear all of those things coming out from him. Your heart was beating 10 times faster than usual.
You looked to your side, where he was laying his head on your shoulder as he kept hugging your body, he looked so damn cute. “I’m sorry too, JK. But let’s not talk about this now, okay?”
Jungkook nodded and surprised you once again when he leaned in and gave you a peck on your cheek. You gulped feeling your face turning red, shivers running down your skin. Only know you realized how much you missed him.
Trying to recompose yourself, you asked stammering a bit “U-um, you wanna come upstairs and eat some pizza?” The galaxy in his eyes sparkling at you as you kept talking “That is if Hobi left anything, he really loves pizza.”
Smiling uncontrollably, Jungkook responded “Yeah, I’d love to.”
