Mutual Obsession
Hello everyone! Welcome back to WaveWave Week! I'm excited to be seeing everyone's awesome creations and ready to bring ya some of mine. Today we have some fluffy smut that Tumblr writing limit made me cut a lot off, but hey it was still fun to write. Hope you all like it!
WaveWave Week- Day 1- Obsession
Mutual Obsession
Shockwave didn't know how he ended up in such a situation but he wouldn't dare question it anymore.
The day was meant to be spent working in the lab, but here he was, lying on his bed as Soundwave used his tentacles to keep him pinned and writhing in pleasure.
No one had known of his obsession with the former gladiator, but he'd been craving an interaction like this for millennia.
It started as a mere curiosity of course. Soundwave was the only one to match their leader in physical prowess and he had the trust of the mech. He wasn't just strong however, Soundwave was also intelligent. Upon his return he'd heard from the others how clever Soundwave was and even saw him in action in the field. Yet, the strong and smart mech did not seem to want any more power nor recognition. He silently took note of everything that happened on the Nemesis, did his duties, and kept silent. It was fascinating to see, and soon Shockwave's fascination for the mech grew.
He thought this was just scientific research, that once he found a logical explanation for Soundwave's silence and his formidable skills he would be satisfied. But soon he found himself staring at him for much longer, enjoying the man's presence even if they were just going over files or discussing strategies.
He longed to spend time with him, to see him without the mask, to place his hands upon the body he'd studied and grown so fascinated by. Or maybe just hearing his voice would be enough. Maybe that would satiate this growing need.
Things came to a head as the purple-haired man was clearing up the lab before Soundwave arrived. Apparently, the Autobots had done a number on Lazerbeak and the poor bird needed a check-up. Despite not being a veterinarian he knew enough to check the critter and spend some time in the spymaster's company.
"Their distress is mostly mental, the wounds are surface level and shall heal in a few days, for now just keep an eye on-"
Before he could finish the sentence the bird escaped his grasp, smacked a shelf above them which caused him to get covered in a clear chemical, and flew out the door. Soundwave stopped him from chasing Lazerbeak. He probably knew just where he'd go.
Shockwave nodded and went over to the lab sink to try and wash the mess over him. He was lucky the chemical wasn't acidic. 'Just what did I get on myself?!'
He wouldn't have to wait long for the answer, as it only took a few minutes for effects to kick and his pale skin to turn red and warm to the touch, Shockwave felt a surge of heat take hold of his body and internally cursed. Hoping that Lazerbeak didn't spill the aphrodisiacs he used on the prediction lizards for breeding.
"I don't think anyone has kept such detailed information of me since the senate."
That deep rich voice nearly made him faint. He turned around to see Soundwave studying some files he found. His files, that Shockwave was supposed to be put away before he got here yet he forgot.
The spymaster still had his mask on but turned to look at him. A mischievous emoji was smirking as he put down the files.
"I…didn't think you'd ever read that."
"I'm glad I did," Soundwave said as he walked towards him.
Shockwave instinctively backed into the wall, Soundwave cornered him there, placing his hand upon his face, brushing away the purple locks that covered his eyepatch, and looking at him directly. "Do you have any idea how badly I've wanted to taste you for all these centuries?"
Had the chemicals not made him turn red he would've blushed even more after hearing that. "You've been obsessed with me as well?" Shockwave asked in his haze.
Soundwave chuckled, it was a gorgeous sound. "You've never noticed? If not for my duties I would spend my days chasing you from dusk to dawn."
He smiled feeling a little lightheaded. Soundwave picked him up and carried him to his room, adjacent to the lab. The spymaster locked the door before gently sitting him down on the bed.
"How do you feel?"
"Happy but also like I'm overheating," Shockwave admitted.
Soundwave nodded. He probably knew what was in those chemicals from the looks of it. "I shall take care of you then."
Shockwave gasped upon hearing those words. He didn't expect the spymaster to take off his mask. His hands trembled as he reached for it, and quickly removed it.
He was beautiful, absolutely beautiful. His dark blue hair fell perfectly upon his face, his eyes were deep purple and he had full lips that looked like they were made to be kissed. The only unusual thing about him was a large scar across that gorgeous face. It went diagonally from his left eye to the right side of his chin. Shockwave didn't care, that he had a scar, though he worried about how his beloved got such a mark.
"It was during my days as a gladiator. We didn't have good medical care…Is it a problem? I can put the mask back on."
"Don't you dare! You're even more beautiful than I've ever imagined."
Soundwave smiled, relieved to hear those words as he crashed his lips against Shockwave's. They fell backward on the fluffy mattress as the scientist gently yet desperately tried to undress the spymaster.
"So eager. I love that about you."
"What else?"
"I love your wicked mind. Don't know how far we would've gotten without you." Soundwave told him as he undressed him. "I love your voice, it's rich and soothing but authoritative. Makes me want to be at your mercy." He whispered in his ear as Shockwave shivered. "I love how gorgeous you are. Primus, you're an absolutely beautiful man."
Shockwave blushed intensely at those words. He never considered himself an attractive man, but if Soundwave said it, maybe he could come to believe it.
Once he was laid bare underneath the spymaster, Shockwave could feel the intensity of his gaze as he summoned the trendiest that he had used in battle. "Your notes mused of what other uses I had for these, want me to show you?"
He could only nod as he felt Soundwave's tentacles slowly wrap all over him. One was around his neck, two of them around his legs prying them open, another was waiting at his lips, eager to be let in, and the last one would prepare him before Soundwave fucked him.
The spymaster chuckled, desire overtaking his gaze, as he groaned in delight at the view before him. He marveled at the sounds that left the scientist's mouth, even if he had it full. The red eye had been shut, as Shockwave was in pure bliss, enjoying what he'd craved for so long.
Even without the aphrodisiacs, he would've been insatiable. Soundwave really knew how to make him scream. He could only grip the sheets as the movements got more erratic and the spymaster began kissing down from his neck to his chest.
"Tell me Shockwave, is this your first time?"
He gasped at that question. Shockwave didn't think it was so obvious. Soundwave smirked as he retracted his tendrils and took the scientist in his arms.
"What an honor to be your first."
Shockwave sighed. "What about you? You know what you're doing, who came before me?"
Soundwave was taken aback by the question, still, he chuckled and pulled Shockwave close. "Those were mere faceless nobles that wanted a gladiator for the thrill. You'd be the first I claim willingly. The first one I'd make love to."
Shockwave wrapped his arms around Soundwave's neck. "I'm sorry you were hurt like that. I'll make sure to heal that ache, and make you feel good."
True to his word Shockwave kissed him deeply as Soundwave entered him in one thrust. The discomfort was menial since he'd prepared him well, yet he was gentle in his movements.
He kissed Soundwave's pretty face, his neck, and his chest, and he ran his hands gently all over him not leaving an inch untouched. "This. I've wanted this for so long. You don't know how badly I've wanted you!"
Soundwave kissed him again, leaving markings on the scientist's neck. "As have I darling. From now on you're mine, now and forever."
"Yes!"
He lost count of how many times they did it, but when exhaustion took over, the sun had set down and all he could do was lay down by the side of his dear spymaster.
"Satisfied?" Soundwave asked with a flirty grin.
"Very much so. You?"
"Mmm, I'll be fine until tomorrow."
"And here I thought you were a controlled professional man."
"There's a lot you know about me darling, but a lot more that you don't. And I can't wait to show you. And to savor you as well."
Shockwave smiled. Satisfied to know that the object of his love and obsession was finally at his mercy. He looked forward to the hours of kisses and study that awaited them.

🍃🌹I feel like this could help my Mutal Writers🌹🍃
Tumblr media
Author's note: Writing can be entertaining and a way to let that creativity from your mind flow. For some, it can even be a coping mechanism. However, you can even get burnt out from things that you enjoy. That's okay! And it is, in fact, normal! Believe it or not, even professionals get writer's block; it's part of the writing process to help you think outside the box or different perspective.
Sources to help with writer's block:
youtube
youtube
youtube
youtube
youtube
youtube
youtube
youtube
How has my writing process been? How do I tend to do writing?:
Let me use one of my drafts as an example! Important understanding: When figuring out how to eliminate your own writer's block or write your fanfictions. It's prevalent to see how others write or their working process and feel discouraged when their way doesn't work for you. So here is some context about myself before I show you my writing process and why it works for me. While it may not work for others.
I am an Autistic 19-year-old (20 in 4 months, Jesus fucking Christ..), Transman. Working a full-time job and made this blog a side project and hobby. While being polyamorous, I am also Ace! So this will bleed into my writing without me knowing.
I've found ways to help me write are being in places where other people are working too; this is why you can often spot them in local coffee shops. Seeing a lot of college students and genius people working on their laptops and being productive tends to help me do the same!
Whereas, if I stayed in my room, I find it's much easier to get distracted or begin to procrastinate.
My actual writing process, Using one of my drafts as an example:
Draft in Question: "Shotgunning" Stoner Wally West x Male Reader
Tumblr media
The title, content warning, author's notes, and summary are great places to start. It can help you understand where to take the fanfiction, no matter how long it's been since you opened the draft.
Tumblr media
Don't be afraid if you don't know exactly where to start! There is no rule saying you have to start at the beginning of the fanfiction; if you have an idea of part of it, then you can start from there. Once you write that part, make a paragraph about how the situation gets to that point. Doing the same after the section.
The 2 purpose rule:
"When re-reading to edit, there must be 2 reasons for the edit that furthers the plot."
As someone that creates something, we often become our most prominent critic by deleting an entire paragraph because we believe it's not good enough. This is where we can become burnt out or discouraged about our writing abilities. By doing this, you are limiting your editing and, in return, limiting your stress about getting it " just right."
An expectation of this rule is to make sure the work is easy to follow. Write as much as you can, then step back from it for an hour or two, Then re-read it and write for better clarity. Only allow yourself to do this once or twice after finishing the fanfiction. Then press post! Post it before your anxiety tells you to keep editing or "Let's change this one thing first.". No! You're done, post or schedule it, and go to the next draft!
______________________________________________________________
I hope this helped someone that's struggling with some things. If the draft seemed interesting, check out my blog or more posts! I also reblog others' works; check out my reblog master list!
Have a fanfiction idea that you don't have time to write yourself? Request it! My request/ ask inbox is always opened!

Mental health ramblings and a literal vomit rant
Thanks for the amazing messages of support recently. I read them all and take them to heart, and do a LOT of beating myself up for not always responding. Thanks for being understanding about that. In my support circle, there's is a secret 4th "person" that I have been saved by many times, but actively try not to rely on because that would be bad for many reasons. That secret 4th person is The Positive Interactions I Get On Tumblr.
Hm... Pounded By the Positive Interactions I Get On Tumblr sounds like a GREAT new title for @drchucktingle.
Anyway on to the title of the blog.
Am I sick, or am I depressed?
Like, vomiting feels near. Headache, check, full-body "medicated" feeling, check, hot and cold flashes, check, possible fever sweats or maybe just normal sweats cuz weather's bein' real frickin weird in the Land of Oz in March, check.
Circumstantial evidence suggests stomach flu is likely - it hit The Father, The Kiddo, and a huge percentage of my city's population *crosses self*.
Is it both? After several weeks of my version of pushing myself, this may be the natural low dip.
Is it my period? Probably that, too. The ol' endo pain has been tickling (that's not the right word but it's poetically speaking not the wrong word) at my sides, *checks* yup, boobs are sore. And last month's pimples are nearly healed indicating just about enough time has passed before I can expect new ones (I have a gyno appt on Friday next week - believe me, I am finally asking about getting The Scoop or whatever needs to be done to make this STOP).
Or, is it this weird 4th/5th thing where I'm a bad person and making this happen somehow with my attitude and tendency to "overstate things" (oooh, ouch, I'm still hung up on that). And codependency. Can't hurt to throw that in there (last sobriety meeting covered codependency And It Stirred Things).
Mainly I just wanna know if I'm gonna start projectile vomiting, and since I can't know until it's happening, I'm needlessly documenting this despite the increasing headache, AS WELL AS PREPARING UTTERLY.
Now for my very weird take on vomiting. Here's your chance to opt out of me non-graphically (imo) explaining my personal history with vomiting, vomiting technique, and vomiting etiquette. I do not have a purging eating disorder (no no, just the binge for me, I'm already near my disorder limit for my lifetime). You might be sensitive to/bothered by the following if you do deal with eating disorders.
For my kinksters, this is not about emotophilia. However, feel free to get off on this in the event that that is your thing. I don't love it, but I fully support YOU loving it. (Oh gawd I've turned into that Cringe Kink Parent... Hooray!)
The observant reader can very much tell I am an alcoholic( 172 or 3 days sober, 4 years into recovery journey).
I've long said of myself, even though it's a very weird thing to say facetiously though it's meant, "Self," I says, "if I'm ever being tortured for information (ha!), all they'd need to do is make me nauseous."
I can handle most anything else they could think of, but I'd break under nausea in an instant. I hate, I hate, I HATE nausea. No one loves it lets be real (wait, let me Google that... well, that's just gonna have to be for another day, and possibly a different search engine), but I do think I may have an irrational intolerance for it. I damn near panic. If I can't know for a fact that I can't hydrate, Pepto, or THC my way out of it, my finger is going DOWN DOWN DOWN my throat until enough momentum is going for a full sesh. And if I stop prematurely, that finger is going BACK down.
Additionally, vomiting is messy. Rarely is that the only "evacuating" you're doing at the same time (at least when you're me). And I hate nothing more than cleaning up puke or other fluids. So if I am lucky enough to have some forewarning, you will find me ON a toilet, with a nice, clean bucket or trashcan to puke into (just don't come looking for me, please, why would you do that).
There will be a cup/bottle of water there already, and I will have hydrated enough to make this a smooth operation. There will be a washcloth/towel. Once I even managed to have the space heater in the bathroom waiting for me, because I get really fucking cold AFTER puking. The fan will be on hand somewhere close by to point at me when I get hot before and DURING the vomiting.
I cannot parse the reasons why, but I'm still flattered by the compliment from my last ex - "Wow, you know how to puke like a professional." So many red flags lololol.
So anyway that's the end of my Puke Ted Talk. I'm gonna try and sleep and we'll see if I wake up at the witching hour to puke. Because it's always the witching hour. Have YOU ever woken up to puke at 2 am or 4 am? No. It's always 3.

Looking Back on 2023
Heyyy folks! Long time no news from me huh.
I'm struggling to think of what to even say about my silence. I've not been doing so bad I'd call myself depressed, but I'm doing a tad worse than just a slump. It's been a rough 6 months, not because of one big thing. Instead, a bunch of medium-sized reasons all piled up on top of each other to leave me extremely drained. I've mostly been working on the two commissions I still had in my queue (thank you to my commissioners for being so patient with me, I'm so sorry to make you wait so long <3). I've done a little personal art other than that but didn't have the leftover focus to keep up with sharing it on social media or writing up any updates about my situation. I've pretty much only been active sharing things in my art discord. I'd like to say I've been doing better in the last month or so, but I hesitate to make any promises at this point! We'll just have to see how things go :)
Artfight
So you were promised a more in depth artfight review but I think I missed the right timeframe for that... instead have this look at 3 years of unfinished artfight thumbnails from my new year's wip clean-out!
Tumblr media
Year of Art Summary
Tumblr media
All things considered I made a lot of art this year, and I'm really happy with how most of it turned out ☺ I did a bunch of experimenting with more playful techniques and color schemes and I think they suit my style a lot. I want to try and much those limits even more next year to see what kind of fun art I can create! Something with colors specifically really clicked in my brain after that witch drawing I did in April, before then I would spend a long time figuring out the perfect color scheme and doing a bunch of adjustments but ever since that drawing things have really been coming together super quick? I'm not sure what changed but no complaints from me.
Life Drawing Summary
Tumblr media
I rarely post my life drawing but I've been keeping at it! Actually, I put together a few pdfs showcasing all my life drawing going back to 2022, you can download them for free in my itch or ko-fi shops! :>
I also put together a yearly art improvement comparison going back to 2015 that I was planning to put here. However, seeing how long this is already getting... I'll make a separate post for it.
Commissions
I've been gearing up to open commissions again after that unintended hiatus. I don't want to open slots until I'm sure I'm back to being able to finish them in a reasonable timeframe, so I've been using that leftover energy I do have to think about revamping some things and new styles to offer. Back in November I ran a survey on what people want to see from me (it's still open if you'd like to fill it out and help me get more stats!)
here's a preview of what's to come based on that & my whims:
Tumblr media
- stamp commissions were super well received so they'll be added to my main repertoire
Tumblr media
- A combo of me reading too much dun meshi and wanting to offer some kind of comicky commissions led to this idea of comic pages of characters eating together, I have a couple examples in progress, when they're done I'll add this style to my main offerings!
Tumblr media
- I'm still not 100% set on sketchpages but I like the idea of them so if this test goes well I'll add them as an option
Onward to 2024!
I already completed my new year's resolution on day 1 of 2024, it was to pet a cat. I've made a second one which is to get a library card whenever my visa is approved and I move back home. It's been something I've been wanting to do for a while but never got around to, hoping this will be the excuse I need to do it.
Art-wise it's not a new goal, but I've been trying to focus on improving my rendering! Though I've also been playing around a lot with screentone... the two don't have to be at odds 🤔
I'm dedicating this year's personal art time to making new references for as many ocs as possible with nude bases so I can easily design new outfits for them whenever I want to without fully making a new ref from scratch.
Otherwise I'm just trying to take it slow, work on things one at a time and see what happens from there.

01. this is a private, single-muse, multiship, & multiverse blog centered on ayaka kamisato from genshin impact. my interpretation of ayaka is entirely my own and incorporates elements from the game and japanese lore / culture . ayaka is 20 years old and canonically follows the events of her storyline in the game . she uses she/her pronouns and is demiromantic
02. i am mutuals only. i reserve the right to block anyone whom i don’t want following me. i just want to focus on the handful of threads i have here with the people I currently write with.
03. duplicate interactions : i'm capping my threads with duplicate interactions of the same muse. i will limit them to 2-3 of the same muse. crossover ships (romantic) are exclusive but other dynamics (i.e. platonic, antagonistic, etc.) are not. i just want to focus on establishing more in depth dynamics with the people I have threads with and not oversaturate those types of relationships.
04. because of school and work my activity is low and sporadic at times. i may as well be on a constant semi-hiatus because of my life outside of here. please respect that i may not always reply quickly.
05. I do not condone callout culture on this blog with some exceptions. If you reblog without tagging it then I will most likely softblock. There is only one major exception to this rule and that is m/tt. What he has done to people in various groups and fandoms of the RPC is inexcusable.
06. i generally use small/sub text formatting. i am more than happy to accommodate for anyone who would like it changed. there's nothing fun about eye strain!
07. i prefer multi-para / novella style writing, but am not limited to it. it takes me a bit longer to answer those particular threads but i’d much rather do those than one-liners. (i don’t mind one-liner interactions, but i’ll most likely not continue them after some time.) also prefer plotted threads. i don't need in depth plotting, but at least a general idea so i know which direction to go. i work better if there's a foundation for what we plan on doing.
08. there will be nsfw and triggering content on this blog. the following will be tagged appropriately. ( i.e. nsfw // , tw blood ) i have no triggers. i will not write non-con/r*pe or any underage smut.
09. I absolutely love shipping. I am not limited to only writing romantic ships but would love to invest in platonic, familial, and antagonistic ones as well.
10. drama and callouts : i'm pro-callout of very problematic people and am not afraid to reblog something if i personally think someone is truly harmful . i'll be sure to tag it as ' drama // ' but i want to make anyone following me aware that i don't tolerate a lot of the bad behavior i've seen in the rpc .
[ i will not go into detail with the issues i have surrounding the people listed below , however , please understand that i choose to keep these people at arms length as well as anyone in their close circle of friends . i don't necessarily care if people choose to interact with these individuals but if i softblock it's nothing against you and simply for my own comfort on my blog ]
- autumn / jewel / rose (housep1ant , gainsflora , selinaes, onlyallans , peculiarbeauty) + callout - jamie (thevcssel , naisetsu , kazehashira)

I am of the opinion that Cody and Satori are extremely sus and I would like more debunking before I will believe they are real. If they are not frauds they should be willing to do more experiments, so I guess we will see. I think the next move is on them tbh, they are being called out, now we wait and see what they do and how they respond, the way they do both these things will give us an answer I think.
However I do not believe Sam and Colby are in on it at all, their reactions are too genuine for me to believe that so if Cody and Satori are scam artists/fakers then in my eyes SnC got played just as much as their audience.
Also in relation to your comments about 'deleted messages' the disappearing comments that you speak of have been explained as certain algorithms that come with certain sites, especially youtube any posts with links in for example, the youtube algorithm will automatically delete as ironically youtube has measures to protect against bots posting scams and things like that, often posts with links or certain words the site automatically erases.
Plus we know SnC don't really read the comments on youtube videos anymore (especially Colby) as they have stated as such in interviews they've gotten to the point where they just can't do it anymore which is actually really sad. So any deletions on that platform not related to the algorithm have probably been done by a member of their team whose job is likely to manage their youtube socials and keep it positive so will erase anything too negative.
The one place I've seen them interacting with comments about the series regularly has been on Instagram, everywhere else they appear online for a very limited amount of time and maybe reply to one thing each. I've not seen disappearing comments on these other platforms myself but feel free to tell me I'm wrong.
I will say I suspect they probably ignore a lot of the comments calling Cody and Satori out because a lot of them go about it in a very negative and unfriendly way which a person can only take so much of. So maybe we'd get more of a response from them on this topic if we were not so aggressive on the topic, and approached it more as a friendly debate I dunno.
But yeah, my two cents after seeing your last anon reply which seemed to imply you thought SnC were in on it all.
If they weren't in on it then, they certainly are now.
Like i said, they're choosing to push the whole "this is a life-changing thing" narrative, knowing very well it's a fraud. First episode was released in theaters, they got huge sponsorship moneys plus the entire series gives off "the new & improved conjuring house management" advert. Anyone with two brain cells can see this is a business deal involving a lot of money and legal documentation and nobody's gonna give statements, address anything or explain themselves unless it's prearranged and benefits both sides.
Satori's dad is well known for faking evidence on Ghost Hunters, she was literally raised into industry. Cody has been clicking his whatever for years on camera, before they met. Them claiming they don't take money for it is simply a lie because they run a website, a traveling museum, sell merch and get paid as the CH employees so what the fuck do everyone think that is, if not taking money and making profits? Which is fine! Just don't lie about it.
Comments are censored either by youtube settings or their production team. They're not some kids running around with a camera anymore, they have people paid to do stuff. It's their business and livelihood. I don't understand why are people so blatantly oblivious to that.
When money, fame and relevance are involved, integrity often goes out the window.

I know I've talked a lot about how good the Chainsaw Man anime adaptation is, but the Ghost Devil vs. Katana Man sequence is so...beautiful. Creepy and violent, of course, but beautiful.
(And spoilery. So, spoiler warning.)
Ghost Devil's Entrance
The Ghost Devil's hand smiles, then passes through Himeno's and sets itself down on the ground. It is joined by a few, walking across the roof, then more and more until the screen blacks out. Cut to Katana Man, realizing all of a sudden that there's something behind him, turning, and seeing the Ghost Devil tower over him. Cut to a third shot, again emphasizing how insignificant Katana Man looks next to the devil, and a fourth showing Katana Man's reaction from the Ghost Devil's perspective.
Contrast the manga. Ghost Devil's small smile needs three panels of focus, then one panel of arms rushing out, then one panel of Katana Man facing Ghost Devil for battle.
On one hand, the anime brilliantly uses the tools at its disposal to enhance the scene. Ghost Devil's smile can be subtle and still read, so it is. Its arms can creep slowly into frame, so they do. Three quick shots don't take any more time than one lingering shot, and this show clearly has the budget to animate extra angles, so...yeah.
On the other hand, it also re-interprets the scene in some ways I like. First off, the Ghost Entrance creeping into existence mostly offscreen gives me Darkness Devil vibes. It's not a big monster teleporting in, it's something unearthly pulling itself down to earth; that vibe suits CSM better. It also focuses less on the moment Katana Man faces the Devil for battle, and more on the moments before, when the Ghost Devil looms large. It makes the Ghost Devil seem so imposing, overpowering.
Himeno's Swansong (and the "fight)
First off, I like the things Himeno says in the sub better than in the manga. I don't know if it's a matter of different translators or different space limitations or rethinking the dialogue or what, but...I like it.
Second, animation adds so much to Himeno's sacrifice. Seeing the sleeve whip away when her arms disappear, clearly seeing that she was reaching out both times, Himeno's unsteady "camera," seeing her slowly slump in a way manga characters just can't...it's good.
Third, the struggle between Ghost Devil and Katana Man gets some extra angles, including one where the Ghost Devil's face emerges from the inky-blak curtain of her hair. It makes it clear that, however immortal Katana Man is, he can't beat the Ghost Devil.
I wish I had something more intellectual to say here, but...it's good. Good adaptation. Good work, MAPPA storyboarders/animators/writers/etc.
Also: I didn't notice this the first time I watched the scene, but I like how darkness creeps across the roof to represent the Ghost Devil's influence (and how Himeno is using it to protect Aki), before fading again when...
Exit stage right, eaten by snake
In the manga, there's no panel between when Akane Sawatari calls on the Snake Devil and when it chomps the Ghost Devil in twain. There's no room; manga panels can only go so small.
In the anime, we get a lead-in shot of the Snake Devil's creepy arm-lined maw opening, giving a moment of anticipation to the bite. The anime lingers for a second, showing the even larger and more imposing Snake Devil. The Snake Devil is in-frame when Akane tells it to leave, and we see it suddenly pop out of existence, letting the Ghost Devil's head fall.
Again, the anime is using its medium to the fullest extent. Manga can't convey a sense of time as well as anime, it doesn't have space for little moments of anticipation. I don't want to repeat myself.
But also, some things the anime does here are things the manga could have done but didn't. A reaction panel after the Snake Devil's bite, or having the Snake Devil in the panel when Sawatari dismisses it (followed by a near-identical panel without the Snake Devil). All of this makes the Snake Devil feel more eldritch ("Darkness Devil vibes"), and more impactful than in the manga.
The anime uses this to establish a clear pecking order. Katana Man is powerful; he can beat up Aki, and endure the Fox and Curse Devils. The Ghost Devil overpowers him—I've mentioned a couple of times now how the anime makes the Ghost Devil feel more overwhelming without technically changing anything that it does. And then, the Snake Devil overpowers the Ghost Devil, even more effortlessly than Ghost overpowered Katana Man.
And Akane controls the Snake Devil.
This does a great job of building up Akane as an opponent. Which is a little odd, since Katana Man is the one Denji fights, but I'm not complaining. (Especially since building up Akane more makes [best girl] taking her down that much more impressive.)
Credits roll
The subtlest difference is where to cut one installment in the series from the next. The anime's sense of how to do this has consistently been more cliff-hanger-y than the manga's.
Episode 9 of Chainsaw Man ends with Aki staring in horror at Himeno's empty clothes—all that's left of her after the contract. But Chapter 25 of Chainsaw Man goes on for four and a half more pages, ending with Denji jumping back into the fight.
These are violently different break points. The manga hypes its readers up for a badass fight between chainsaw and katana. The anime leaves its viewers filled with dread. This has been a consistent pattern across the adaptation.
On one hand, breaking episodes mid-chapter does sometimes lead to odd pacing situations. Having a fight wrap up in the front half of an episode feels way less climactic than having it end right at the episode's end.
On the other hand, I like the tone better this way. It's a bit messier, but it emphasizes what makes CSM different than other Shonen Jump action series. Sure, Denji cutting devils and assholes apart is badass, but its overall tone is more horrific than battle-manga-ey. Ending with a devastating loss works better, even if it's a loss Denji will do his best to avenge within five minutes.

Can you recommend a Japanese proxy site? I’m unfamiliar with them but sounds like something I’d like to check out
So full disclosure, I haven't used any myself in years as I've been mostly in Western fandom spaces for a while, so this is actually not coming from direct personal experience. But! A lot of my friends use them regularly and I trust their recommendations.
If anyone's totally unfamiliar: proxy services like these are where you purchase items from Japanese retailers through a single middleman service (the proxy site) which typically a) does the buying for you and b) often will have things from various sellers etc shipped to their own storage facility, then all collated into a single parcel and shipped onto you, meaning the actual shipping process can be combined to make things easier and cheaper. The things to be aware of are a) they typically upcharge a percentage as a fee (sometimes split into several fees), and b) shipping is typically only estimated until items are actually despatched, because some variables mean it cannot be nailed down ahead of time.
...However, the site I've actually been looking at for this whole discussion, since it's books/comics specifically, is a bit different. Mandarake is an actual Japanese retail chain (specifically, they sell secondhand comics, doujin, etc) that sorrrrt of... operates its own "proxy" service, in a way? They have a global website that basically works in the same way as a proxy, but instead of doing it as a third party for online retailers, they do it for their own physical stores. Given that they're a huge operation and have an entire fulfilment system set up to do just this, it doesn't limit the stuff you can get nearly as much as it might sound like, and they offer really reasonable shipping deals. If it's books you're after, or comics/doujin, they're a great place to start before you look elsewhere. And they do sell some other merch stuff as well. Just be aware that orders are done separately when you buy items in stock at different Mandarake physical stores. It's very easy to use, though. Also, because they're not a middleman, no weird extra fees to worry about, it's basically all built in.
But for proxy sites of a more traditional kind (which are way more likely to have stuff of interest if you collect e.g. Japanese toys, merch, etc, and especially for auction stuff), I've not personally used it, but I've heard decent things about ZenMarket semi-recently. Buyee are apparently reliable, and are actually partnered with Yahoo! Japan I believe, though I hear they're a bit pricey? (If you watch anime youtubers, they're the ones you'll likely hear about; they buy a lot of influencer ads on there.) I've heard Sendico are fine, though not anything more specific. They're all legit. I know a lot of people use these for getting JP/Takara toys, since it's often much cheaper to get stuff on the aftermarket within the country it actually released in even accounting for much higher shipping options.
My main advice is just to make sure you read everything fully before you make your first purchase, as it's important to understand all the fees etc that will apply. It's a few steps more complicated than buying stuff online usually is! But once you get your head around how the sites work and how they calculate charges, it starts to make more sense, haha. Also, there will often be multiple courier options for delivery; some couriers charge by size/volume, some by weight, so pick based on that if you're looking to keep postage costs down.

hi so once again i am turning to tumblr bc idk what else to do
need some chronic pain related advice so if you can relate or know someone who does please read below
little background about me: i've had chronic pain for almost two years now, and still no solid diagnosis. different things have been thrown out there, but a lot of the tests i've had done have come back negative, not significant, or inconclusive. the only thing that was ever yes yes definitely positive was a mri of my thighs that showed inflammation. however, a couple months later when i had a muscle biopsy of my thighs done, they ruled it not significant, and it didn't point to a further diagnosis. my rheumatologist decided to put me on prednisone anyway, and it HELPED SO MUCH. at least temporarily, i'm tapering it now since it's not good to be on long term. but it helped with my energy levels and my pain/numbness/weakness/tingling/burning/tingling pain in my lower body. i definitely couldn't have finished college without it.
recently, i was put on lots of different meds, and i've been have a bad flareup and new weird symptoms since the beginning of the summer. i also started using weed to help manage pain and fatigue and it helped a lot. however, because i've had so many new (and some very severe) symptoms and couldn't tell anymore what was a side effect and was a symptom, i decided to stop/taper every medication/drug that i could about a week ago (with my PCP's help). i'm still adjusting.
however, the thing i'm probably most concerned about rn is my new neurological symptoms that have been progressing. while i've had things like sensory issues or brain fog in the past, it's taken such an intense turn to the point that i'm pretty sure i've started having seizures? i hesitate to say that in case i'm wrong but i've been having them a lot. since stopping my meds, it seems to be helping slightly. my brain doesn't feel as overloaded. but i'm still kind of having them. i did go to the ER for one after i had an episode in the urgent care waiting room, and they did a CT which looked fine. they diagnosed it as a "headache" and told me to call my rheumatologist to get off my mycophelate mofetil since they thought it was contributing (and i think it definitely was, especially to my digestive system issues, brain fog, and weird random i'm so sad but idk why mood swing things).
i guess my question is, for people who have had seizures start developing later in life, how did you know it was a seizure? i mean i've looked up stuff online so i'm pretty sure but of course i can't really be sure. and how do you manage seizures day-to-day?
also, for people with chronic pain in general, how do you get people to believe you? i just feel like everyone is starting to think my pain is psychosomatic, which i think of course, some of it is. everyone experiences psychosomatic pain sometimes, and i do have a history of mental illness. but i actually feel pretty good right now!! and i'm doing everything i can to limit my stress, pay attention to my body, give myself positive affirmations, rest, do some gentle movement throughout the day, sleeping a lot (8+ hours usually) on a regular schedule, trying to eat a decent diet, meditate, stretch, i mean, i am really trying everything i can.
but i just don't know what do sometimes. so any advice, especially from other people with chronic pain, is super appreciated. and thank you for reading all of this if you did. i hope you are having a wonderful day!! here's to the lovely journey of becoming closer and more loving with our bodies.

Week 2
This weeks was a fairly productive week. Feeling a bit more confident than last time.
What I've done this week:
Updated my project timeline
worked out my methodology after speaking with the stream leader.
did some preliminary research in the form studies ranging from art therapy, virtual reality, depression and the different forms of depression, virtual characters and their socio emotional benefits....
Developed hypothetical vision based off research
created a rough scope/limit of the project.
My thoughts and feelings on what I've done this week:
I struggled with how I would plan and write my project timeline last week. However, this week I decided to use the double diamond as a rough guide to help plan my project timeline in phase. This made things a lot easier for me to manage as I could focus on one phase at a time and not be overwhelmed.
I tend to struggle with finding a suitable methodology and often revert back to the standard double diamond of all of the design methodologies. In the past, I got a lot of feedback commenting that my chosen methodology require more elaborations or needed to be more distinguished. As I mentioned last week on needing some guidance, I spoke with my stream leader and told them how I tend to work and the type of researching I was used to. (note: I am a Design and Fine Arts conjoint. I am used to researching a topic/skill/artist, analysing what I've learnt and attempt to apply it to my work.) Together we were able to figure I had a Heuristic approach to research and was suited to practice lead research, learning by doing.
Most of the research I gathered are preliminary research to help better understanding the brief. Some are from 300 but further expanded and explored through new and additional literature that look at the topics separately and a few more additional readings that look at the more socio emotional side of things relating to virtual characters.
I have a hypothetical vision that was developed based of what I've researched. However, I'm just unsure on what emerging technologies I want to use. I think my vision is flexible enough to be able to be adapted in to a VR or a mobile version. But that mostly depends on the inclusions of a virtual character. I did get a passing comment from my peer to perhaps explore something else other than art therapy in conjunction to whatever emerging technology I decide on. I consider their comment, but felt that a lot of the one I had decided on other people were already research and I didn't want to compete with them. Plus I feel I have a better connection with art therapy than any other topics. Not because I've been to art therapy or have engaged with it in any formal way, but I often found that creating art was therapeutic for me. It was what drove me to continuously pursue it in my studies and was a safe way for me to express myself or refocus my attention from other studies or work. I felt slightly offended by that peers comment but I know they only meant well and was trying to provide and option for me to look at other paths I could take for this project.
I have created a rough scope/ limits for my project and have made some key points/elements I want to include. I am limited by my technological skills and the short 12 week time frame we were given. I will need to get people within my class to test my prototypes and not my target audience. due to ethical reasons. Whatever, solution I come up with I want to include some type of drawing program wether in VR or on a screen. The project should involve some type of VR environment and or virtual character.
Other thoughts: I still need to start on the ethics module and further update my micro board and make a presentation for week 4 but that's week 3 me's problem. I feel more sure of my self but shouldn't get too cocky.
I will try to keep a weekly schedule of Sunday posts.

Hi Chekhov! Really enjoying your white diamond au! I had a quick art question: How do you start comissions? I've been improving my drawing skills and thinking about drawing for others after having fun in artfight, but I don't know where to start? How much to charge, how to get paid, etc. Do you have any tips? Hope you're doing well! :)
Alright, since a few people have asked, I’ve decided to put together a few things about how to get started on commissions - what you need, what you should make, and how to keep things organized.
This will get a little long, so I’ll divide it into 4 main sections:
1) Draw Art - Getting started
2) Get Commissioned - Making a commission sheet, Advertising
3) ??? - Communicating, Setting Limits, Running the Business
4) Profit - Pricing Yourself and Getting Paid
* Disclaimer: I’m an artist, so this How-To will be illustration-focused. I’m sure many of these tips can apply to ANY types of commissions, but I will be focusing on the type I know best. If you are proficient in other types of commissions for other types of art - music commissions, photography, etc - feel free to chime in and leave a comment or make your own tutorial!
Tumblr media
1) Draw Art
I think this is probably the most obvious part, but it needs to be said:
Before you start making art for other people, you must first be comfortable making art in general.
I’m not saying your art has to be Disney-quality, or industry-level! Not at all.
BUT! You must be comfortable creating what you sell. If you try to sell something you have little confidence in, you will stress yourself out and possibly end up losing time AND money.
Don’t shoot for the moon if you haven’t landed on it even once. Sell what you know you’re good at. Your commissions don’t HAVE to include full-body illustrations if you don’t know how to draw feet/solid stances. Limit yourself to what you can do.
Things you need to should probably have before starting commissions:
1. Access to art materials or a fully downloaded art program
DO NOT - Use a free tutorial version that will expire in a month and leave you without a way to draw! If you are having trouble finding a program, try free ones like MediBang Paint Pro.
2. Free time to complete the amount of commissions you want to take.
DO NOT - Take on or offer commissions if you KNOW you’re going to be overwhelmed with school or personal life for the next 2+ months. Pace yourself, otherwise you’ll burn out, get stressed, and get discouraged.
3. A reliable way to communicate with your customers like a commissions-only email
DO NOT - Use your friend/family/college email. It’s hard to keep track of things as it is, and creating new emails is easy and free. And keep it professional if you can! Not many people will reach out to dong-wiggles20434 to ask for a design. Ideally, your email should be close to your brand - however you want to brand yourself. Usernames are fine!)
DO NOT - Use Instagram/Twitter/Tumblr to collect commission info unless you are ready to do the organizing yourself. Some people make it work, but in my experience, if you use these SNS sites to communicate with friends and network... you’re going to be losing commission inquiries right and left and accidentally ignoring people. Email is much easier to organize and sort into folders.
4. A portfolio or at least 2-3 pieces of each type of art you’re planning to sell.
DO NOT - Advertise commissions without having any examples of the art you plan to sell. People will find it difficult to trust you if you can’t even give them a vague idea of what sort of drawing they’ll be getting.
Disclaimer: These are not hard ‘do not’s. If you have had a different experience, I respect that. I’m simplifying for the sake of streamlining this advice.
.
2) Get Commissioned
So - you have your art, you have your art program, and you’ve got all the time in the world. That means.... that’s right! It’s time to let the world know you’re taking commissions.
One of the most common ways artists signal to their audience that they can do commissions is by creating a commissions sheet. There are MANY ways to make this - and they range from simple and doodly ones to VERY complex designs. For example, here’s mine!
There are many ways to organize a commission sheet. At its core, a commission sheet should display the types of art you WANT to be commissioned to make. Let’s go over a few ways they can be done!
Tumblr media
#1.... Body Portion Dividers!
Tumblr media
This sheet is most common with those who want to capitalize on drawing people and characters. If you want to draw lots of characters, this is a great way to offer several tiers of pricing based on how much of their character your customers want to see.
#2... Complexity Scale
Tumblr media
If you’re open to drawing many things but want to base your pricing off of how complex something is, you can split your tiers into done-ness. This type of commission is popular with those that draw characters AND animals, furries, etc.
#3....  Style and Type
Tumblr media
If you’re more on the design side of things, or if you have various niche art styles that you can’t quite lump together, display a variety of your skills alongside each other! It helps if all the ones you have can be organized under a common customer - like those looking to advance their own business and get logos, websites, or mascots made for them!
.
3) ???
You got your first commission... what happens now???
Well, ideally you have the time, tools and motivation to make things happen! Now all you have to do is... sit down and... draw.......
I’m going to say something that may be a little controversial:
Commissions aren’t fun.
No, no, hear me out: I have fun doing commissions! I genuinely enjoy drawing characters and coming up with designs. But even with all that said, commissions are, first and foremost: WORK
I’m not saying this to discourage you, I’m saying this to keep things realistic. When I first began commissions, I thought it would be just like any other type of drawing. I would sit down, imagine a thing, draw it... it would be fun!
But then I realized that I couldn’t just draw what I wanted - another person had an idea in mind and had asked me to do it. I stressed over getting the design correct from descriptions. I stressed over not having the right reference for the pose the commissioner wanted. I stressed over not being able to draw the leg right in the way I had promised I would do. I stressed about billing. I stressed about digital money transfers. It was difficult, and time-consuming, and I did not enjoy it. At all.
Tumblr media
And a part of that is definitely on the commissioner - we, as artists, NEED to demand proper references or descriptions. We, as artists, NEED to limit the amount of changes we’re going to make at the flick of a finger. We NEED to demand clear instructions and set boundaries. That’s also super important.
But also - don’t be discouraged if you find yourself exhausted drawing your first commission. MANY artists go through this. Adjust your rules, fix up your limits, practice putting your foot down on finicky commissioners who expect you to read their mind! It does get easier, but you have to communicate and put in the effort and act as your own manager AND your own customer service AND your own accountant. That’s what you’re looking at.
Good limits and boundaries to set:
Limit the amount of changes a person can ask to make. “I want blue hair.” Next email: “No wait, yeah, make it red.” Next email: “Actually I changed my mind, can I get the blue but like, lighter?” Next email: “No, not that light.” ... At some point, we have to stop. I personally allow 2-3 changes on the final stages of a commission before I start refusing or start asking for extra money.
Demand clear instructions and/or references. If something isn’t described, you have to take artistic liberty and design it, but that’s difficult! And if the customer is not happy with it but can’t tell you more? That’s not your problem - the burden of reference is on THEM. You cannot read their mind, and that’s not your fault.
Get at least half the payment up front! This is a good balance between the ‘pay before art’ and the ‘pay after art’ conundrum that will limit the amount of woes between artist and customer. (I’ll touch upon this a little more in the Profit section.)
Organization:
Where possible, create good habits! Tag your emails and organize your folders. I have a tag on my emails for active and finished commissions. I also keep my emails on Unread until I have time to sit down and properly look at/reply to them.
My Commissions in the folder are also organized chronologically and I mark down which ones are paid and which ones are not.
Tumblr media
(I understand not everyone can do this, but if you want to give it a try, it does make things easier in the long run. Again, this advice is just what I have found personally helps.)
One last thing - I do not want to shame ANYONE for taking their time with commissions! Commissions are complex, and they take time and work. You can draw in 8 hours, but some things take research, materials, etc. Some illustrations realistically take up to half a year, or, depending on what’s involved, several years!!
THAT BEING SAID - it’s good manners to be upfront with your customers about how long you expect the commission to take. If you think you’re busy, just say that! Explain that you have a lot going on, and you will probably take (insert time period here).
And if your commissioners are worried, work out a system to keep them updated! I send my commissioners updates when I finish the lineart/flat colors/etc and I try to be clear about how long everything will take. I try to estimate with a +3-5 days buffer to give myself extra time... and recently I’ve been using it. Always say a bigger number than you think you’ll need.
If someone wants a rushed commission... make them pay more. If ANYONE wants a commission done ‘by the end of the week’ - that’s an automatic rush-job for me because I’m juggling an irl job and several commissions at once. I WILL charge a rush fee and I won’t feel bad about it.
If someone wants a commission within 24 hours...... Well, they better be paying you 3x your normal amount, or more. And remember - you CAN refuse! It’s perfectly reasonable to say ‘No, sorry, that sort of turnaround time is not realistic for me.’
Food For Thought - Invoicing
Many artists I’ve commissioned in the past have not used Invoicing, but I’ve recently begun to fill out invoices and file them in my Commissions folder just to keep track of things. It’s not necessary until you start getting into the Small Business side of Freelancing, but it’s not a bad idea to get into the habit early in case you might need to do it later for tax purposes.
Here’s what my Invoice looks like, for example.
Tumblr media
I’ve optimized it to help me remember who, what, and how much is involved! It also contains important info for my customers like where to send the money.
Which brings us to...
.
4) Profit
One of the hardest things for artists is pricing themselves. I’m not going to tell you which way is BEST - there is no BEST way, only the best way for YOU.
One of the options available to you is pricing by the hour. It includes averaging out how long it takes you to draw a specific type of art (whatever you’re offering as a commission) and multiplying that by an hourly wage you’ve decided on.
Tumblr media
When you do this, I stress - do NOT price yourself below minimum wage if you can help it. When you first start out, aim for the $15/hour mark and adjust accordingly.
Other ways to price your art:
- Per complexity: Portraits vs full body should be scaled based on how difficult you find one vs. the other. You can also easily decide on a price for a sketch and double it for lineart, triple it for full color, etc.
- Per type: Look up for industry prices for website design and logo design. They may surprise you! You don’t have to charge that much, but it helps to keep things in perspective.
It’s okay to change your prices! Keep your commission sheet image handy so you can update the amounts as you grow. :)
Payment up front or after completion?
Some artist take full payment up front. Some only demand payment after they’ve finished and sent out the piece. I personally think these are both risky for everyone involved.
I recommend doing at least HALF of the payment BEFORE you start the commission. Calculate your full price and ask for half before you start working on it in earnest, to make sure the person can actually pay you. Then, when they receive the full piece and are satisfied, they can complete the payment.
I personally work in this structure:
> Someone emails me with their idea/reference
> I send back a rough draft sketch that shows the idea/pose (only takes me 10-20 minutes so not a huge loss if they ghost) and quote them a price
> They can pay the full thing upfront OR pay half
> I finish the commission and send updates when I do the lineart/colors to double check anything so they have multiple chances to spot any errors
> If the person paid only half on completion, I send them a low-res version of the finished thing, they finish up their payment and THEN I send them the full-res version plus any other filetypes/CYMK proofs, etc.
Many of the people who commission me pay me up front even though I offer they pay half - and I’m really flattered that they trust me that much! Because of that, I feel encouraged to update them frequently and ask for their input as I work, so they have the peace of mind knowing I’m actually doing their commission.
Great, but how do I get PAID????
There are NUMEROUS ways - these days money is relatively easy to transfer over digital means, and you have a few options.
Tumblr media
Paypal is perhaps one of the oldest digital wallets and is geared towards businesses. By setting up a PayPal and connecting it to your debit card of bank account, you can tunnel a pathway from your online business directly into your hands in a matter of days.
Paypal also offers Invoicing - you make an invoice, price it and send it to the person’s email and they can pay whatever way they need! (It also allows partial payments.)
Pros: transfers from PayPal to bank account are free, and take a couple of business days. It also has no upper limit to the amount of money you can move in/out each month. It can force refunds due to the nature of its business-oriented payment system.
Cons: Because it’s used by businesses for larger transactions, PayPal may demand a more rigorous proof of your identity. It may also take longer to set up and be harder to get used to. I’ve also heard that they can be a hassle when it comes to closing your account.
Tumblr media
Venmo is another type of digital wallet that acts much like paypal, except for a few key differences - it is NOT made for businesses (so depending on whether you’re officially registered as a freelancer, you may not be able to use it). I personally don’t use venmo, so I cannot speak to its usefulness, but I know a few people that use it for casual transactions. It’s easy and quick! :)
Keep in mind that you cannot force a refund over venmo! The transactions are final.
There’s also CashApp, GooglePay (which could load gift cards but also allows peer-to-peer transactions) and I’ve heard good things about Due, though I’ve never personally used it.
Other ways to pay: I’ve had people pay me over Patreon by upping their pledge, and I’ve had people pay me over Ko-Fi by donating a specific amount.
Many people even use Etsy - the website specialized for independent small businesses selling art - by listing their commission sheet and offering up several ‘slots’ of commissions, which allows you to track taxes AND allows your clients to pay using whatever they feel comfortable with.
If you’re in Canada, you can even pay by emailing money directly from bank account to bank account - check whether your country offers this type of service! There’s no shortage of ways to move money in the digital world.
Just like everything else, there’s no singular ‘Best’ way. It just depends on what works for you.
I think that just about wraps it up! I can’t quite think of what else to put here - but I’m sure other artists will chime in with their own advice. :) I’m very sorry this became so long but I hope it was helpful!
Obligatory Disclaimer: I’m not qualified to give legal or accounting counsel. Please double-check the laws in your own country/state in regards to taxation of freelancing work and do your own research. If you are underage, DEFINITELY get an adult’s permission before you start doing commissions, and have the adult help you through the process.

So I'm not going to start like an Anti-Chiron tag because I don't find that enjoyable personally, but every so often people ask why I dislike him so here's essentially a "masterpost" of my thoughts on that situation for when anyone asks, just so I have it to explain some...
This isn't nearly a full list, and there's many more "incidents" that make me less than fond of Chiron, I don't hate the old man but he leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I'm not a fan of that. He's a very twisted character.
Tumblr media
- The Lightning Thief
This quote is literally just after Percy's mom "dies", they're all sitting on the porch of the Big House right after he's finally woken up after days of sleeping, and that's the line Chiron pulls out on him.
That's straight up emotional manipulation which was entirely unnecessary in the context of what Chiron was trying to explain. There wasn't a single reason for that, in the slightest.
Immediately following that, and Percy, who canonically has anger issues, does his best to remain calm, he is immediately threatened by Dionysus, and Chiron doesn't even tell Dionysus off for doing that; Chiron just let's it happen. It's Grover who has to speak up to tell Dionysus off...
The only reason Chiron comes out looking like a old guy in this scene is because Dionysus was so much worse in his behavior, at one point intimidating Percy with his power over madness.
Tumblr media
- The Titan's Curse
This is the aftermath of when Nico ran away upon confirmation of Bianca's death. When Percy is telling Chiron about the situation, Chiron wishes Nico had been eaten alive rather than recruited into an army.
He'd rather a child be dead than fight against him, and he openly tells this to other children he's in charge of. If Percy went missing would he have said "I hope he was eaten <3" as well?
I don't blame Perry for not delivering the truth here, it was done in an effort to protect Nico; which wasn't something Annabeth had planned on doing... I don't blame Annabeth for that though either, she's been beneath Chiron so long that she probably doesn't realize the shady stuff he does, and to her "going to tell" probably was the "right" move because she was a child...
But the fact that Chiron believes Nico truly would be better off eaten than alive :/
Tumblr media
- Tower of Nero
This quote from Tower of Nero shows that Chiron lied to a bunch of young children (most of them were young because the older campers are largely dead because of the war or too old for camp now). It wasn't just a little white lie that adults sometimes tell kids either; they were walking into battle and he told them it was a field trip.
Did he even begin to explain the danger he was putting these kids in? Did the children understand their situation? And how dangerous it was?
Kayla has been blindsided over the years into thinking that telling children they're going on a field trip instead of fighting a battle is something to make a joke of and not be questioned... (Again, I don't blame her she's only like 12 in the book, but still)
Apollo also agrees, which isn't on Chiron but it's a whole mother reason why I can't stand Rick's interpretation of Apollo...
<><><><><>
This isn't me being like "oh Chiron is the worst most evil character ever" I just think that he has numerous flaws which are largely ignored in favor of the "perfect wise teacher" narrative when in fact Chiron and Dumbledore share a lot of.. Offputting qualities.
I do think that some of the situation is simply a result of Chiron having his hands tied behind his back by the gods some. And he even goes so far as to confirm this in a scene of TLT
Tumblr media
However many of the scenes in which he exhibits behaviors like that in my first three screenshots are not related to anything the gods require and are, in fact, of Chiron's own free will.
Some things I would blame Zeus and the council for, such as how he withholds information from Percy to an excessive amount for long periods of time even when Percy straight up asks about things. I could easily see that being Zeus trying to prevent Percy from claiming the prophecy as his own, and I could see reasoning that maybe Chiron had sworn over the River Styx or something similar.
But those things don't apply to Chiron making such an unnecessary comment about Percy's mother so close to her "death". It doesn't explain why he would say he hoped Nico had been eaten out loud, and it doesn't cover the fact that he led children into a battlefield without telling them that's what was happening.
I think the context of Chiron's choices and comments would be different if the campers were older. If they were in their late teens or early twenties for the most part, I wouldn't really have much to say about how Chiron handled the situation.
But this man is in charge of children and extremely young teenagers, Percy is only 12 in TLT, maybe if he would have been 16 or 17 then I could give Chiron a pass, but he wasn't. Within the context of the comment he made in the Titan's Curse, Percy is only 14 and Nico is 10 at the beginning of the book... You don't wish a 10 year old had been eaten alive by a monster no matter how bad you think the alternative is, and if you do wish that you don't say it out loud to a group of other children. In the battle from Tower of Nero we get a quick look at the battlefield, and although Ben's age, and the age of another girl fighting alongside him are never confirmed they are implied to be fairly young, and we know Kayla is only 12 at the time too; yet Chiron told them it was a field trip instead of a battle, limiting the time they would have to mentally prepare themselves for what was coming.
On top of that, the nods the reader gets to the fact that Chiron can't act out against the gods depletes over the course of the series. After TLT the amount of times the situation involves the gods interfering with what Chiron is allowed to say lessens, and by the time the Heroes of Olympus series comes around, these limitations on his speech is almost entirely gone. Yet as seen in Tower of Nero he still does morally questionable things in regards to how he treats the campers.
Like I said, I recognize that in many scenes Chiron's hands are tied behind his back because of the gods.. But there are undeniably things he does of his own free will that are, in the nicest manner, very :/
This also isn't a full list of comparisons just a few notable scenes. I don't think Chiron is equally as bad as Dumbledore, but I think it undeniable that Chiron has some significant flaws built into his character design.
A good character has flaws, and there's nothing wrong with having a character that doesn't always conduct themselves properly or have good intentions- it's actually good writing, and I can appreciate that, but for some reason I find myself personally rubbed the wrong way by Chiron. This doesn't make Chiron badly written, or poorly designed, in fact I would say Rick's Chiron is very well designed in lots of ways, but I just don't like how it's never acknowledged by anyone in the series.
Like I said, I'm not starting an anti-Chiron situation, I just think little events like those mentioned, the way he's built a child army, and how he doesn't even try to plead with the gods over raising the ages on campers being allowed to battle is a little sus. But it more so bothers me that there's no attention payed to this problem anywhere in the books, not even by a side character or Luke, nowhere.
I don't actually care that much and this isn't that important to me, but sometimes people ask why I don't like Chiron and this is basically just my explanation to hand off to them... It's not even so much that I dislike Chiron entirely, he's well written and has his "good" moments, I just don't like the way other characters interact with him and his actions.
It's more a personal beef with him rather than an aspect of poor writing or him "being bad"... PJO in general (and HoO/ToA to a much lesser extent) shows that there's not such an inherent good vs bad in the world, and that sometimes people are victims of circumstances in some situations, or they're horribly misguided in their actions, but the series does a good job of showing those people as human still, and I applaud that.
I don't really know how to tie this up in its entirety, but there's nothing wrong with having a morally grey character who does questionable things and in many aspects it is good writing. I think Chiron is a result of Rick not thinking through the implications what he's doing in lots of situations, and I can see a fairly consistent drop in Chiron's characterization from PJO-ToA which is consistent with most other aspects of Rick's work.
I also want to clarify that if you like Chiron and disagree with me, that's absolutely 110% okay, I just personally dislike Chiron and that's on me. Like my problem with many of Rick's other immortal characters, I think he missed important aspects of them in some manner and slightly (or entirely in some cases) mischaracterized them in comparison to their original myths.. Some of these characters he came around on and fixed their character in many aspects to their more "correct" characterization (like Hera), while others (like Chiron and Apollo) he never quite figured them out. Which is a running complaint I have with Rick so I'm just adding this to his tab.
But yeah, I don't hate Chiron I just dislike him and those are different things, and I don't think it's a bad thing to have a morally questionable character, Chiron just personally rubs me the wrong way and I just wanted to explain that more fully because I've been asked about it multiple times.
Also I apologize for not adding a [read more] to this, it's a complaint of mine often when scrolling through the tags but I'm on mobile currently and don't have immediate access to a computer so~

ENTJ + INFJ DYNAMIC
BSD MANGA CHAPTER 54-57 SPOILERS
Chapter 54 introduced Mushitaro Oguri, and his background involving Yokomizo was ever so intriguing to me. So unfortunately, here I am.
Tumblr media
Mushitaro and Yokomizo's dynamic:
The 'Commander' meets the 'Idealist.'
Alright, I won't go into the details about the case of Yokomizo's death, because there's no way in hell I can explain it fluently at all. So if you need further reference to what these few chapters are about, popopretty's post would elaborate on the details and whatnot.
Before I start, here's a bit of little introduction to both individual characters:
MUSHITARO OGURI
Mushitaro appears to take a lot of pride in his ability, which contributes to his arrogant complex altogether. He had his own desires and goals, and lived out his days just to fulfil them.
His ability is called the 'Perfect Crime,' which allows him to erase any trail of evidence pertaining to whatever crime he had committed. Hence, he is also known as the 'infallible Detective-killer.'
Until Ranpo proved him wrongヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ゙
His personality type is most likely 'ENTJ,' the 'Commander.'
- ENTJs are known to have exceptional leadership skills. They are confident in themselves and what they do; basically, they don't have the tendency to second-guess what they are capable of. This explains Mushitaro's ambition to achieve his ends, and his ability goes the extra mile of complimenting his success rate greatly. Whether his motives or the end results were morally good or evil, it didn't matter to Mushitaro— as long as his wishes were fulfilled.
"With tyrants and demons, I'll make deal with a demon. That's in my nature."
- They're also quite outspoken with their opinions. It's a fairly minor detail, but this shows why he wasn't afraid to express the distaste he had for mystery novels to Yokomizo— including the extravagant ideas and serpentine stories his close friend based his life upon and discussed with him.
Tumblr media
- The subtle insensitivity mixed in with an ENTJ's preference of logic over emotion highlights one of their core weaknesses: which brings us back to Mushitaro's ability to kill his friend. Say you were to put a person with a deeply compassionate heart, who's also very well in-tact when it comes to identifying emotions and being empathetical to other's feelings: would that person be able to kill a friend they'd known for so long? For the sole reason of making his last mystery novel a deathless enigma? This is very subjective perspective, but I believe that if Mushitaro was more of an emotionalist rather than a strategist, things would have turned out different for Yokomizo's eventual fate.
Side note: His insensitivity did, however, find its limit when he realised how devastating it was to have killed his own friend with his hands. Even though there's a wide scale that measures how insensitive a person can be, they are, in fact, still human beings capable of feeling. Killing someone dear to you is no easy task; there is a breaking point for the hardest of hearts.
Tumblr media
SEISHI YOKOMIZO
Yokimozo, also known as Kindaichi, was a mystery writer who was very particular about detail and being exclusive, especially when it came to his works. His last wish he pursued to achieve before a terminal illness took his life was done by formulating a 'mystery that transcended reality.'
"I hate regret. So I've done whatever I've wanted to do. Up until now, it's been a satisfying life. But now… I've been given a time limit…Before then, I have to complete the ultimate mystery."
His personality type is identified as 'INFJ,' also known as the 'Idealist.'
- INFJ's are deeply creative and artistic, but they express it in various different ways. For Yokomizo, he portrayed his brilliant artistic skill through his writings revolving around mysteries and their compelling depths. The fictional character's namesake was also a mystery novel writer. Yokomizo was pretty well-versed with how mysteries worked and how their details ravelled themselves into elegantly, well-established riddles, which only added to his natural flair of writing.
- Generally, INFJs are reserved, but incredibly idealistic. Yokomizo was seen to be very abstract in his idea of thinking, and this is due to the fact that INFJs have a thing for pondering about life and the meaning behind everything.
"Mushi-kun, I bet you're laughing at me for destroying myself for the sake of mystery. But if that's the case, maybe there's no such thing as unshakable values. Maybe it's up to us to decide what to put value in and what to live for. After all, we have the right to turn our own decisions into our entire world. It is, foolishly enough, the greatest luxury afforded to mankind."
- As for their weaknesses, some INFJs are very hard to get to know. They are mysterious at times, which prevents them from being flamboyant with their thoughts and opinions. Yokomizo had a very lighthearted, mystifying nature, which made him a very interesting character altogether. Despite having a high regard for their intimate relationships— INFJs can be quite private. Mushitaro vaguely points out his self-contained, introverted mannerisms in this panel:
Tumblr media
Now, I'll get to my point.
ENTJs and INFJs don't ideally match up, but when it comes to general friendships, there are a few details that suggest an accomodating dynamic between the two personality types. These qualities emanate from Mushitaro and Yokomizo's friendship with each other.
Opposites attract in most cases, correct?
Well, in this case, ENTJs and INFJs have a lot of similarities:
intelligent
intuitive in thinking
determined
goal-oriented
But the more numerable contrasting qualities is what really brings out the agreeable traits between Mushitaro and Yokozimo. Think of it as a system where two opposites mutually keep each other in check:
1. Mushitaro bases his life on the gaining his own needs and wants, and is very firm in his sense of realism, while Yokomizo is more focused on the deep, complexities of life itself. This may come off as impractical to ENTJs, but also compliments their coordination with INFJs. Realism limits idealism, but idealists can also expand the boundaries realists place themselves in.
2. INFJs accept people and ideas as they are, not willing to put others down just to prove themselves right. Yokozimo's tolerant behaviour stands in contrast with how authoritative Mushitaro is, especially when it boils down to his arrogance— he isn't afraid to spit his pride right into his opponent's face.
Kneel, detectives! I am the king of crime! No one can force me to sin and repent!
Just for laughs reference^
So it's safe to say that because Yokomizo had an acquired sense of serenity and open-mindedness, he was able to tolerate Mushitaro's extravagant, subtle histrionic characteristics, which were laced with his superior complex.
3. In the manga, Yokomizo speaks and converses with Mushitaro in a way that suggests that he is careful with his words. INFJs are gentle and generally sensitive to the needs of others, so they tend to be careful with what comes out of their mouths. Mushitaro, like most ENTJs, are quite blunt. This points back to how insensitive they come off, even if they don't actually mean it. So when it comes to Yokozimo explaining tales of mystery to Mushitaro, Mushitaro doesn't hesitate to mock Yokozimo; but because of how understanding Yokozimo is, he doesn't take Mushitaro's opinions too seriously to the point of discounting the value of their friendship, because he knew Mushitaro didn't use his words with the intention to harm.
If you were to place a more dominant persona in Yokomizo's position, I doubt that that person would be able to tolerate such behaviours. Then again, this is crucially subjective.
I suppose the main thing I wanted to point out was how ENTJs and INFJs balanced each other out by cancelling out each other's extreme traits, and keeping each other in the middle of the equilibrium altogether. But another thing I'd like to point out to sum up Mushitaro and Yokozimo's relationship was this: the fact that Mushitaro had to kill his own friend to grant his dying wish. Dying for someone or by someone's hands is easier than killing someone, especially if that someone is dear to you, no? I guess that's the part I can't fathom— it was the type of relationship that stood out way more than I had expected. Say, the roles were switched, would Yokomizo actually kill Mushitaro? Or would Mushitaro think of such an incomprehensible way to die in the first place? Or what if these two friends had different, more superior traits that coexisted in conflict all the time, would Yokomizo even depend on Mushitaro with such a task?
The speculations are endless, or maybe it's pretty straightforward. Though, I hope this made sense.
Okay, I'm done rambling for now. Thank you for reading!

6, 9, and 10 for the reader asks and 11, 16, and 44 for the writer asks? :D
6. How do you find new fic to read? Where do you primarily read fanfiction?
I don't often read fanfic because usually if there's an idea or feeling I get the hankering for, I want to write it myself, so I don't often get around to looking at other people's stuff. But when I do, I really do love it! Usually I will read fics by my friends and by looking through tags on ao3 and browsing until I find something that piques my interest.
9. Tag 3 fic writers you think are underrated/unknown in the fandom/fanfiction community.
OBVIOUSLY YOU TOO BUT THAT'S IMPLIED
@velveteenvampire thank you once again i cry every day because your oneshot defined fyozai for me. @bungoustraypups you are my daaad you're my dad! boogie woogie woogie!! you put so much effort and time into an extensive, complex, and thoughtful whole. @tg-headcanons YOU RUINED MY LIFE /pos
10. What’s your favorite fandom, pairing, or character to read fic for?
I mean, I work with hyperfixations, so whatever is in my mind is just what I care most about. And even if it's what I care about,,, a lot of the times the other people in the tags just suck ass :| but I think that out of all ships to read fic for, sherliam was definitely the best experience for me. Maybe it's just because it's a relatively new fandom and things haven't had a chance to go off the rails yet, but yall have good takes. It's just a dynamic I will eat up again and again.
11. How do you come up with your fic titles
Sometimes, I actually start with the title in mind and base the fic around it, but most of the time I will just start with the idea and then the title will emerge of either a theme or line of dialogue that appears in the writing. Sometimes I don't have a title until after the fic is done, and I have to reflect on what the fic is about and what best encompasses it from those things. So yknow, it depends. The title and the theme will base themselves off of each other, and I want to make sure the fic reflects the title and the title reflects the fic.
Sometimes of course though, the title ends up being something stupid as a joke, and that's honestly just as fine. (in the case of "mika's tragic emo backstory TM" and "kureto is going to kill him for this" and "catastrophe at 16: gureshin angst edition". i guess that was, an ons thing lol)
16. Do you research for your fics? If so, how deep of a rabbit hole have you gone down by accident when researching?
I definitely will research through the canon, if I'm writing stuff that relates to lore or anything I'm not up on about the series. I've seriously gotten into that stuff for fics, and god, the amount of ons lore I have contemplated and looked into and the amount of light novels I have read just so I can write fanfic?? Man. However, I don't tend to do much research about like, normal things that come up, a lot just because I have this weird irrational fear of Looking Specific Things Up On The Internet for some unknown fucking reason. And I think that really is an issue for me, as a writer, i know I'm going to need to do research if I want my writing outside of my limited experience to be any good but if I have to type something into the google search bar that doesn't immediately autofill i will CRY.
44. Rant about something writing related.
Hmm. I feel like you've heard most of my writing rants. But god. Why do people hate first person so much. It's the only thing I can write in what is weird about it first person is so much more easy to get into the speaker's mind with like don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with third person and I like it too but ??? what's WRONG WITH IT

Hi!!! May I request a HP romantic and friendship matchup on both eras? (Preferably male), thanks in advance! 💞
𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗦 + 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘
19, Libra, Neutral Good, enneagram is 4w5, Ravenclaw, and my patronus spirit is swan. Bi Pan Genderfluid girl using pronouns of She/Her or He/Him. A friend of mine told me that I (kinda) look like Marinette from 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆𝗯𝘂𝗴, Musa from 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘅 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯, and Alexandra Trese from 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲 (a Netflix animated series), but the exception is I'm short (5'1.2") plus sized Southeast Asian woman with Spanish descent that has messy/wavy brunette medium hair, chocolate brown eyes, oriental skin and a small beauty mark on the forehead. My sense of fashion is in between emo and boyish plus korean glam.
𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬
Distant and shy at first cause' I dunno how to initiate a conversation, but a total opposite if I open up---friendly, ambivert, witty, laughing loudly on a daily basis, talkative, awkward, daydreamer (I got embarrassed from knocking at the door even I'm inside the classroom 😂), EXTREMELY clumsy, secretly likes affection, easily overwhelmed, prone to melt over any wholesomeness, flusters on compliments, lightly blushes on cheesy banters, sarcastic person with a lowkey crackhead energy citing meme references, and talented girl who can be your no. 1 supporter and unashamed to be true to myself. In terms of leadership, I only educate and guide than being a prefect (I might take the role seriously), and will lift my group when there's lacking/incompleteness. About doing projects in school, I become too extra and prepared for efforts, but I'll forget the process in the end.
People thought I'm a demure self-effacing woman that looks "idealistic" or "one of a kind," (due to my protective parents, a reason why I've never been in a relationship) but the truth is, I'm eloquent, warm-hearted, willig to help, kind, intelligent, supportive, nice, creative, enthusiastic, determined, tough, competitive, and feisty outside, but a real softie that can be childish and dramatic crybaby filled with doubts, frustrations, and insecurities with fear of failure that pushes off the limits to to please everyone, yet I still managed to be stronger than ever, even it's a slow burn process. I can be intimidating, sassy, and a douchebag if I receive ends. Immature, headstrong, perfectionist, demanding, hesitant, jumpy, very indecisive, overthinker, quick-tempered, sensitive, and anxious (no joke, my nervousness makes me think worse scenario will arrive or I might break a belonging due to my carelessness). Though can be procrastinator and arrogant, I raised as a religious 𝖺𝗇𝖽 diplomatic person, willing to fight what I believe (including my dreams) 𝖺𝗇𝖽 what is right. In addition, I have a habit of staying up late and doing sign of the cross to ease nervousness.
Blunt but the loudest idiotic feeling-brokenhearted and bitter friend in the group who fangirl a lot, swears like sailor, will act like a silent backstabber on people that we loathe, will crack up over your stupid antics before helping, and bring gossips, but a hopeless romantic who tends to banter with sarcasms or pick up lines as an endearment (but gets grumpy if I received sappy or offensive one), still generous and concerned in a subtle way.
𝗛𝗢𝗕𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗦
My hobbies are singing, drawing, roleplaying, listening to music, chatting/browsing on social media, conceptualizing, writing, and reading some stuffs. 𝖨'𝗅𝗅 𝗂𝗇𝖼𝗅𝗎𝖽𝖾 making corniest jokes/puns, 𝗌𝗅𝖾𝖾𝗉𝗂𝗇𝗀, and dancing when nobody's around or walking like a model if I feel so bold (even I'm terrible at both xD).
𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗦
Loves kittens, eating a lot, cartoons, watching YouTube videos (mostly pageants, ASMR, edit audios, and mukbangs), also enjoys playing games on my sister's PSP. Sucker for arts, choir, night sky, makeup, fun/deep/dumb conversations, Christianity, documentaries (about saints, real crime stories, and inspirational people), reading interesting stuffs, talking about social issues, and writings, chilling both indoors and outdoors. Beside that, my music taste are like late 90s-2000s songs (mostly rock, pop, and country) sometimes kpop and ppop, chocoholic, and a sweetooth as well.
𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗦
Things that I hate are stereotyping, HUGE creepy crawlies (spiders, toads, snakes, and cockroaches), firecracker sounds, being left out, loneliness, heart break, blackout, and judgemental people. One random fact about me is, I 𝗐𝗂𝗅𝗅 vent out EVERYTHING I despise in my entire existence---from bad soap operas to toxicity and worse scenarios in real life, because it's a big deal for me, and I consider forcing me to do what I'm not into and manipulating me as my major pet peeves.
𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦
In terms of triggers...I only have two which are ta𝖨king about divorce/annullment/separation because I came from a generational broken family and religion/beliefs discrimination, cause' there are reasonings that doesn't makes sense because some are too hypocritical.
𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗔
My best assets are smile, eyes, personality, singing voice, artistic skills, writings, intelligence, and oratorical skills...so I can consider myself as a singer, artist, orator, and a top student who's a former active campus ministry member with three roles (choir leader, psalm singer, and reader). Currently an incoming college freshman, learning how to cook and have so many interests, to the point I don't know what I'm into because of my dreams to become a popular Filipino YouTuber, a novelist, and being part of a successful chorale competing internationally...I also consider joining pageants at school too once the pandemic ends, but maybe.
Thank you so, so much for requesting! I had a lot of fun with this one (as you can tell by some of the really long answers lol) and I hope you enjoy!!
In the Golden Trio era, I romantically pair you with…
CEDRIC DIGGORY
One of the most beautiful things about Cedric is that although he may show some introverted tendencies, he still manages to have a natural gift for connecting to others and allowing them to feel comfortable enough to open up. Really, your initial distance and shyness don't last nearly as long towards Cedric as they would with most other people.
Hearing your laughter brings the widest, cheesiest grin to Cedric’s face. Not only does he adore seeing you happy, but he also recognizes that your anxiety, insecurities, and strong emotions can sometimes cloud up your demeanor. Therefore, it brings him comfort knowing that (for the moment) you’re finding joy. He thrives when you thrive!
However, as much as he loves seeing your more energetic and happier self, it goes without saying that he’s the best comfort for when you’re not having the best day.
Cedric is an excellent listener, so he’ll most likely let you talk without interruption for as long as you need before even saying a word. He wants to make sure he truly understands your current state before acting. He may take a few seconds to process everything after you finish speaking, but then he’ll help you tackle whatever problems you’re facing. He’s especially talented at giving words of affirmation.
Cedric’s listening also comes in handy whenever you talk about your interests! He genuinely loves hearing about the things you’re interested in solely for the fact that you’re interested in them. Side note: you can count on him to be at any music performances, pageants, etc. you may have -- this guy is truly your #1 supporter.
Cedric’s a very good student (though I suspect he’s somewhat of a procrastinator himself), so I can also see you two supporting each other through schoolwork and celebrating each other’s successes.
Like you, Cedric has a strong urge to do the right thing. Talking to him about social issues stirs up a need to help, and I could see you two doing volunteer work together in your spare time.
I like to believe one of Cedric’s biggest love languages is quality time. Don’t get me wrong, this guy loves staying involved and busy. But taking a couple hours to be with you in small ways (even if that means just being in the same room while you scroll through social media) gives him a nice balance.
Overall, this kind boy will be there unwaveringly through the bad times and will laugh just as loud as you through the good!
As a friend, I think you’d best be matched with…
LUNA LOVEGOOD
You wanna talk about the best conversations, relentless support, and overall the most wholesome friendship you could ask for? Luna’s your girl.
Being unashamed to be true to yourself is one of the biggest reasons why Luna is so drawn to you. While she’s very friendly and insightful towards everyone she meets, it can get a bit repetitive for her to constantly interact with people who try to shelter their unique characteristics from the world. In her mind, these unique characteristics are what make people so fascinating! Why should anyone hide who they are?
Luna’s creativity is endless, and I can see it blending well with yours. Collaborating on a personal project outside of school (ex: novel, blog, etc.) together is definitely something I could see you two doing.
Speaking of creativity, finding creative solutions to everyday problems (both in school and in life) is your specialty as friends.
Admittedly, Luna isn’t usually drawn to louder individuals. However, the complexity behind your personality makes it easier for her to know you are much more than what meets the eye.
Speaking of, Luna has a difficult time standing up for herself -- whether it’s because she doesn’t feel a need to or she just doesn’t recognize the meaning behind certain phrases. She NEEDS a friend like you to stand up for her sometimes, and I know you wouldn’t hesitate!
Ranting to Luna is therapeutic to say the least. While her aloofness at times may make it seem as if she isn’t fully paying attention, that couldn’t be further from the truth. She’s actually catching every word, and once you’re done she’ll leave you with a philosophical solution that may seem borderline insane/irrelevant when you first hear it, but it strangely makes sense.
Overall, the lack of judgment from either of you is what draws you together. As a result, you build a unique bond that couldn’t be broken even if either of you wanted it to.
In the Marauders era, I romantically pair you with…
REMUS LUPIN
Let’s be honest, it would take you two so long to ask each other out. You were probably already really close friends, but the insecurities and “what if?” questions from both of you delayed an actual relationship.
When you finally started dating, you were both so relieved. You still share a laugh at how almost nothing changed in the way you interacted with each other.
While with mutual friends, Remus sometimes likes to sit back and just watch you, especially when you get really talkative because this is when you become the most expressive. He has the softest smile when you’re actively cracking jokes, discussing something you’re passionate about, or even calling someone out. Sometimes you may be too distracted to notice, but other times you’ll catch him.
“What?”
“Oh, nothing.” (While that same soft smile never leaves his face.)
You both hold really high standards for yourself in terms of school, so expect late-night study/work sessions to be your best bet for quality time.
Though the occasional instance of walking through/lying on the grounds becomes a favorite for both of you.
Remus listens when you’re particularly struggling through anxiety or strong emotions, but he has to consciously stop himself from interrupting because he can’t stand how he feels knowing you’re going through a tough time.
All he wants to do is soothe you during these moments. If you’re comfortable, he’ll hold you while speaking to you in a soft voice. Remus, the intellectual that he is, is also your best chance at finding a reasonable solution. So if you're not in the mood for calming words, he's also a great person to turn to for answers.
As for your ambitions, no matter what you choose to pursue, you already know Remus is going to be your biggest source of support every step of the way. He’s more than happy to help in any way he can!
Overall, Remus appreciates you, and he’s always going to make sure you know it.
As a friend, I think you’d best be matched with…
LILY EVANS
Lily especially connects to you because you manage to be determined, competitive, and intelligent without sacrificing your kindness, which is something she can relate to.
You and Lily are the C.E.O.s of doing the right thing. Neither of you hesitates to back the other up when it comes to confronting someone because you know it’s justified.
As perceptive as Lily is, you never need to tell her when something is bothering you. All it takes is a quick glance before she puts whatever she’s doing on hold to check in with you.
The reverse works as well. Typically, Lily really doesn’t internally struggle too much, and when she does she tries to hide it. You’re one of the only people who can see right through whatever she tries to pull.
The constant banter between you two is unmatched, but you both know it's because you really care about each other.
Overall, you and Lily have each other’s backs through anything, even when the other isn’t actively asking for help.
