Alt Assistant Pt 7 (finale)

Kara reflexively keeps her distance from Lena, for all of two days, until she realizes that while respecting Lena's boundaries is important, she does not have to respect any boundary set by Lex.

She comes to this conclusion late Sunday night, and makes a point to be in the office early to make her point. She's lucky Lena's already there, plugging miserably away at a spreadsheet R&D had sent to her the Friday before. Kara plunks down her boss's coffee of the desk, nearly sloshing it, and scowls when Lena turns her gaze up at her.

"You don't have to do everything your brother tells you," she says, far more scathingly than she intends. It backfires when Lena interprets her tone as petulance.

"I hardly think two days without sex warrants a tantrum Miss Danvers," she responds coolly. Her gaze returns to her computer. "Nor do our trysts qualify you to pass judgement on my relationship with my brother."

"I know you better than you think," Kara snaps. "And living under Lex's thumb isn't a good look on you."

At that, Lena's gaze snaps back up with razor sharp precision, skewering Kara to the spot. Her jaw tightens. "My respect for my brother--"

"Isn't respect!" Kara bites back. She knows she skirts the limits of Lena's goodwill, but she can't help the anger and resentment that bubbles up. "It's control, and you know it."

At that, Lena's scowl deepens, but her focus skitters away, proving the veracity of Kara's accusation.

"You are your own person," Kara pushes. "And you're capable of making your own decisions."

Lena's moment of concession evaporates with a scowl. "Get out."

It's enough to make Kara see red, but she manages to keep her temper in check.

"Fine," she clips out. She turns on her heel and marches towards the door, only to pause with her fingers wrapped in a fist around the handle. "And maybe you should think why Lex has such a problem with you being fucking happy for once."

With that, she yanks the door open and all but slams it shut behind her when she leaves.

Prepping a charity gala isn't easy-- or fun-- when they can hardly stand to be in the same room together without snapping. It involves a lot of "fines"s and "just get it done"s and "yes, miss luthor"s, but it eventually culminates in a lavish, extravagant affair that the guests seem to enjoy.

Kara hovers in her floor length gown that snugs in all the right places, yet leaves her arms bare to give her room to actually work during set up, and now cools her down as she takes a moment to breathe.

She knows Lena is here, by way of a curt text received an hour ago, but has yet to actually see her in the throng of well-dressed patrons. She does see Lex though, who somehow manages to look smug even as he glowers at her. It's nearly halfway through the night when Kara finally catches a glimpse of her boss.

Her mouth promptly goes dry.

Lena's dressed in a black chiffon dress that hugs her hips. When she turns, Kara sees the thin straps that leave the ivory skin of her back largely bare-- and the long silver chain that dangles against Lena's spine.

The vision is so distracting that it takes Kara a long moment to notice that Lena had turned towards a tug on her wrist, and that it was Lex who now gripped it tightly.

Kara watches their heated exchange of hissed words until Lena finally wrenches her wrist free of her brother's grasp. Lex's features darken as he issues what can only be a final warning before taking his leave. Lena watches him go for a long moment before finally turning.

Their eyes lock.

In that moment, Lena is laid bare-- Kara can see the shock of their unexpected connection (Lena has been avoiding her), and registers the brief up-and-down of Lena's gaze as she's scanned by wide green eyes. Then, Kara sees that dreaded word again: don't.

Only this time it's not directed at Kara, but rather inward, a silent scold towards Lena herself, combating the flush of desire written clear across Lena's cheeks. But then, almost as soon as it appears, it's eclipsed by a sudden hardening of Lena's gaze, now resolute as Lena comes to a conclusion known only to her.

Kara stares as Lena marches towards her, determined and unflinching. She barely has the time to grin before her arms are full of Lena, and warm hands sandwich her face fiercely as she's kissed long and deep.

When Lena comes up for air, breathless words come tumbling out.

"You're fired," she says. Their foreheads rest together, and Lena's hands have yet to move from where her thumbs rub gently against Kara's cheeks.

Now, Kara does grin.

"About time," she growls, and pulls Lena into another searing kiss. Kara senses the eyes on them, but doesn't bother to look to see if Lex's is among them.

Screw them, Kara thinks, savoring the taste of Lena's lips and the glide of their tongues together.

Screw them all.

Chapter 7 + Ash Hangout Public Update is now live! 🎉

The Chapter 7 and Ash Hangout update is finally here 🔥😁 I'm sorry for the slight delay, I had something urgent to attend to today and I just got home and I just basically went straight to my computer to upload this update.

Finally, we are starting to get into the ROs' first hangout sessions. Of course, to start us off, we'll have Ash's hangout session 😁This update adds around 31K of new words, bringing the total word count so far to around 356,701K words!

Anyway, this update also brings quite a lot of changes in the coding, especially for the skip chapter function, so I'm going to strongly suggest you guys play with clean save, either from the beginning or using the skip chapter function.

I have recently added another skip-chapter checkpoint, which is Chapter 3 in addition to the already existing one on Chapter 6. There is also now an autosave function at the beginning of every chapter starting on Chapter 2, so you'll be able to replay any chapter you're currently reading and try out different options in that chapter.

Anyway, enough of the technicalities.

Oh, you must have played the Book Two alpha content to pick up on this detail. That's very well spotted! 🥰 A new character, C, will make a remark to R about the Verner masquerade balls, a long-standing tradition in Fernweh for its elite and the height of elegance. (Yes, there can be some mischief, horror, romance, and spice!)

It won't be coming up in Book Two! We've got a full docket with visits to the Verner Mansion (it's so big; trust me, you'll get to explore it a few times), the Corvin Farm, more Turn the Page time, and I just realized I almost spoiled some stuff. There are like 3 or so other brand new places for you to visit and even more linked to your choices. The recent, soft snippet I posted with Mal might hint at this: here. 👀

I'll add the quote from Book Two as well:

Im sick and not working today, but i have animator brain rot & i still wanna talk animation. So lemme share some snippets of process for this rough animation

First thing, i do scribble pass. Everything in this post is animated in the rough animator ipad app!

The scribble pass is pure gesture, not stressing about mass or model or any of the fundamentals yet. Focusing solely on the idea and rough timing(and also what i find fun to draw, like expressions and smears)

Next i did the kick! I animated a loop of a single kick, but it felt a little boring.

To add some spice, i decided to keep it to 3 distinct kicks, & took the impact key and skewed it into 3 different positions. Then i skew adjusted the extreme pullback key to fix its arcs. And then from there it was just skewing the inbetweens to keep the anim smooth.

From here i took a run at the upper body. But i didn't like my first pass (you can see it faintly under the cylinder).

It was lacking depth, it felt boring and flat. I was having a hard time imagining the motion i wanted, so i simplified it down to a cylinder, which was much eaier (and faster) to wrap my head around. I wrote notes on the side, because i was working on this in short increments, and didn't want to forget when I'd pick it up again, hours later.

From there, i plot out my keys, and track my arcs.

I picked the elbow points as theyre the outer most points so they move the most, and are the easiest to make a big circle arc with. But i also keep in mind my arcs on the head and features as im flipping.

And then I'm sorely lacking the WIPs from then to the end, but this is what i ended up with:

I add a big antic before the smear, a small overshoot when the character hits the screen. Keeping them static except for the eyes and arm, and then another antic down.

I haven't fully finished the loop, its missing frames to get the character back in their seat. I'll eventually take it into toonboom to clean up and to fully finish the loop.

Hope this was at least an interesting read! I shared it on twitter a while back, and a few folks mentioned how nice it was to see the "ugly" side, the thinking sode, instead of beautiful polished work haha.

"What about Chris?" Buck rasps out, even if he knows he'll end up saying yes anyway. "What does he think about all of this? Is he even—?"

"He's on board." Eddie cuts him off, his cheeks tinting a darker shade of pink. "He might have been a bit confused at first and he wasn't excited out of his mind exactly… but he's on board. He said he always wanted to be a big brother and if that means you'll be living with us full time then he doesn't see the downside." Eddie smiles, soft and gentle.

"He won't help change diapers, though, and I have to buy him some new headphones so he won't listen to the baby cry all the time." He adds, amused.

Buck can't help but to huff out a weak chuckle at that.

"You've really put a lot of thought into this, huh?"

"I have." Eddie raises his chin almost defiantly. "How would this even work? If we get married? What will happen if you wanna date or if you wanna bring someone home, or if—?"

"I haven't dated anyone in almost a year, Buck. And honestly? I don't have any interest in doing so." Eddie clears his throat and looks down, a small crease forming between his brows as he crosses his arms against his chest defensively. "I'm done trying to force these relationships with women I don't really care for. It's not fair to them and I'm really tired, so… Yeah. You don't have to worry about me."

"You say that now…" "And I mean it." Eddie's gaze locks with his and there's a fire in his eyes, his jaw stubbornly set. "I'm done dating. I wanna marry you, I—" He clears his throat and hesitates a bit at this but then continues like that flicker of doubt never happened. "It's purely platonic. I just wanna help you get Luna, be able to take care of her like I know you want to. I can do this, Buck. Let me do this for you."

"Okay." Buck whispers finally, after a few seconds of silence. His heart is beating hard in his chest and he staggers forward, stepping closer to Eddie as he feels his legs wobble and his knees go weak with how much he wants this, how much he aches for Eddie right in this moment. "Okay." He repeats, a little bit louder, but his voice shakes and trembles embarrassingly so.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah." Buck lets out an almost hysterical laugh, full of disbelief and awe. "Yeah, I'll marry you."

While I'm not in the fandom, I'm still a fan, which means I follow some people to keep up, and I'm interested in what Nick and Taylor will do next.

The thing here is that there's a group within Twitter fandom that's demanding more from Nicholas. And while they're aware of his need to promote two more projects, him signing books in LA and Milan when possible, leaving Taylor on his TikTok following list*, it's not enough.

Personally, most of these stans are being dramatic because they're not getting more. So, instead of being rational, they start to “joke around” (I'll come back to this later)** by saying Nick doesn't care, he moved on, he doesn't want to be part of a sequel, Taylor and him are not friends, and they bring up his personal life and socmed activity.

A part of me wants to think these people are very young and incredibly online, so they base everything around it, ignoring real-life interactions during their outbursts. Another part of me thinks they're shippers, which eventually ends up being problematic because they see their interactions through that lens. If they don't interact, they hate each other, they are just co-workers, or something happened between them. If they interact, they're besties, they love each other, or they are something else. Like, on socmed, there's no winning for them. It's intense. You cannot see all of that, read some nasty comments, and then say, “I miss when Nick was more active here.” Like, it's obvious why he doesn't want to be active.

I sent you an ask weeks ago about parasocial relationships, and I think these things go along those lines: Most of these people think they know them, they understand their reasoning, and while we do have snippets of their personalities, we don't know them. We're not their friends, and we cannot justify bullying and nasty comments as “it's just a joke, people take things too seriously” because you think it's nice to destroy someone else's work just because you don't get your Instagram likes.

I even read “Nicholas owes us more pictures and content. It's the least he can do.” And he did, for a few days. But he's an actor — he'll have more gigs and eventually RWRB will be another project dear to him. And so for Taylor. And Taylor is signing all these books and going to these events because can go, and most importantly, it was his first leading role. He's extremely proud of the project and of him as an actor. And he'll also move on eventually.

What's more annoying is that we're all aware of a sequel project, and just because Nick is not talking about it any more, they go, “He won't do it because he hates it/now he's too big,” not noticing that they're also implying that Taylor is “less important,” which he isn't. Matthew already said that if Taylor and/or Nick aren't on board, there won't be a sequel, but hardcore fans decide to ignore that part. Nick has never been part of a project this big that actually can have a decent sequel, so there's a big chance of him being part of it. He does care.

I think some people are just very dramatic, and they're not responsible about what they write. So, based on that, it's best to curate your experience as much as possible and recognize problematic accounts/takes on people immediately. Otherwise, it won't be enjoyable.

*I think Nick has been doing some cleaning (I think it's common for him, said by people who have followed him for a while) and he's working on more projects with awarded actors. I think that Taylor has become a good friend of his within the industry, which is good. They've also said Nick's socmed activity is very random and to not be taken seriously because he does a lot of random stuff, but then again, people ignore that.

**Usually these replies come when people start to point out that their comments are wrong, cross boundaries, etc. It's like a way to deflect. But you can tell that it's not really a joke if it's repetitive, which is what's happening right now.

I truthfully don't have much to add. Your points are absolutely spot on, and you organized it very clearly. Thank you for this.

I think I'll just one thing, I was talking to @pippin-katz about this whole rivalry issue, and they said the problem is these people want certain things from the boys, and when they don't get it, they become these violent, malicious comments.

We as fans are not in a position to dictate how they should live their lives. Frankly we're not in any position to dictate people how to live their lives, no one but our own. People need to realize this.

ty for asking about my skk headcanons! i'll share the ones that you can nearly always presume to be "canon" in the fics I write.

Chuuya has a vulva + internal reproductive organs, but with so few memories prior to the Sheep, he doesn't recall having an assigned gender divergent from his own and has always known himself to be a boychild. He's rarely been prompted to think anything of it: the Sheep didn't make a fuss when he started menstruating, although Shirase did defer to Yuan to teach him how to manage it once they realized; Mori educated him on his options once Mori became aware but was otherwise unfazed and had forged Chuuya's koseki anyway; etc., etc. Which isn't to say Chuuya doesn't pursue and receive gender affirming care, only that he's both self-assured in his own and rather naive regarding matters of gender and sexuality. (i.e., insofar as trans is a useful framework here, he's trans.)

Dazai is ashamed of his sexual attraction. Not in his sexuality (as in preferences), but he thinks his sexual attraction is, generally, an imposition and a vulgar burden he thrusts onto others. This doesn't stop him from feeling it and pursuing others. It's just one of the many contours of his self-loathing.

Dazai and Chuuya weren't completely no-contact for those four years, but they talk about it as if they were.

Chuuya has a Port Mafia-subsidized penthouse with an aboveground wine cellar. He still frequents the Agency dorms; he doesn't like Dazai snooping around and making messes in his penthouse. Or stealing his wine and wine paraphernalia for wine fraud, which happens sometimes and has, previously, fucked with the integrity of Chuuya's cache of Romanée Conti vintages.

Chuuya is a workaholic and very driven in his commitment to his organization. Dazai cherishes and serves at the leisure of the hand that feeds him but isn't. Quite as career oriented as Chuuya.

Both are polyamorous more or less. But exceedingly possessive of the other in hyperspecific, sometimes toxic ways.

Chuuya has extensive irezumi beneath his clothes, much of which memorializes his loved ones. (Including Dazai, but most everyone knows better than to acknowledge those pieces.) Dazai, meanwhile, doesn't have any tattoos; he can't tolerate the needles (whether hand or electric). Dazai will join Chuuya during his sessions, though, if only to bother him in ways Chuuya can't do anything about while being tattooed.

They don't negotiate anything, which is usually fine. They work it out one way or another when it's not.

They have several intricate rituals to navigate around each other's severe intimacy issues.

While they were both in the Port Mafia, there was a strict mandate against Dazai riding passenger on Chuuya's motorcycle. Enforceable by any member of the organization regardless of rank.

They're technically legally married under Dazai's birth identity (Shuuji Tsushima); that's also the identity with which Chuuya has a joint bank account and multiple tax fraud schemes (in which Akutagawa and Gin are also implicated as dependents), among other things. (Note: I've unilaterally decided Japan recognizes same sex marriage in bsd-verse, especially given the plethora of anachronistic, fictitious, and quirky policies, ministries, levers of governance, etc. canonical to bsd-verse that preclude the canonical existence of several of Japan's current irl legal institutions, including its constitution as amended.)

I thought I was gonna have this fic finished by now, but editing it is proving harder than I thought because I keep feeling the urge to add stuff, so yall are getting a snippet and hopefully I'll be happy with it today oslkasokasokas But anyway, I've been obsessed with the song where do we go now? by Gracie Abrams (this version specifically) and I made a few edits with it (here and here), but like, yesterday, I legit wrote 2k words in one sitting with the song in a loop of a fight with the energy heavily based on that song and also I should hate you, two people, best, cedar and will you cry? (legit will have to attach a playlist to this fic lol) and it's like a communication fight? They're yelling things at each other but they are being honest about it so progress is being made. Anyway, it's angsty pining Eddie and them discussing everything because apparently, i can't stop writing those types of fic lol so have a snippet

And Buck has a point.  Of course he does.  Buck knows him.  Probably better than anyone else alive in this world.  Except for the tiny detail that the reason Eddie needed space is not whatever disaster scenario Buck imagined, it is because he was in love with him.  Still is.  Eddie didn't know it was possible to yearn for someone this much.  To feel like if he could he would claw at his own skin until he found Buck under it just to find a way to drag him out.  Or how he would rip himself into pieces if that would make them work.  If it would make Buck stay.  But he can't say it.  Can't let Buck know it was all a pointless attempt to move on from him.  How he's angry because Buck let him slowly drift until he was single and needed the space filled again. How he's angry because being without him fucking hurts and he can't let him back in when Buck will never be truly his so he will leave again. He just lets Buck stare at him from the other side of the table.

💪 self defense fic (s2 AU. Buck got mugged and loses faith in his safety, so Bobby introduces him to Eddie who will teach him self defense. Not Buck isn't just struggling with feeling unsafe but also with finding Eddie, a stranger, attractive) gonna be a longer fic, I think about 3-4K is written? Will be a single chapter.

🫃 Omegaverse fic (Buck always believed he was a beta but then after mating with Eddie, am Alpha, he starts feeling strange. With the help of Bobby, he figures out that his parents lied to him and did an illegal surgery on him when he presented as an Omega to block any Omega hormones. Buck worries because Eddie only dated betas before him and they never talked about having children) Know this is not everyone's cup of tea since it's both onegaverse and mpreg. Not started yet though I have a snippet written down somewhere in my notes. It's about time I write this.

💛 Bobby & Buck fic - well, it's also Buck & Chris & Eddie and Buddie. Basically, they respond to a heavy call with a kid that hits hard. Of course Buddie check up on Chris, but Bobby also feels the need to be close to Buck

🧩 Puzzle fic - sweet and fluffy. Eddie gives Buck a puzzle, which confused Buck because Eddie knows that with Buck’s adhd, he's barely capable of spending 10 minutes on it. Even worse, there's no reference picture. Buck sees it as a challenge and slowly works on it, his curiosity getting the better of it. - not started yet

There are a few wips I almost added to this but then I would really be working on too many at once. Soo... once I finish one or two of these, maybe I'll tease them or add them to a post like this. (It's a PTA dads au and a whumpy fic based on a the rookie episode... honestly makes me want to reconsider not doing whumptober this year because it would be perfect)

The writing front has been very slow lately. Ideally I need like 6-8 hour blocks of time to just sit down and write, and my one day to do that has been occupied by social things and appointments the past few weeks. So writing has been minimal and in the tiniest bits and pieces. I do have a pretty solid 10 pages rn though, so I'll take it.

A lot of times for sections with a lot of dialogue, I'll write the dialogue first to make sure I really nail the flow of the conversation then go back and add all the speaker tags and actions. For this snippet I removed my mess of notes about who's saying what, so you all can have fun guessing lol!

One of my fav things to do is incorporate world-building and plot relevant details in as dialogue. It's a really seamless way of informing readers but it's also a subtle form of foreshadowing on my end.

Snippets and Sneak Peek (Chapter 6) Pt. 2

Hey guys 👋 Time for the second and last sneak peek at Chapter 6 Part 1 before the update. And just as a reminder, the Chapter 6 Part 1 update will drop on 22nd of April (GMT +8), which is around 22 hours or so from now (the time I posted this) 😁

So, I kinda mentioned how MC will hear again about what they did when they helped the mother and the kid in the alleyway. I'll show the news segment here and it'll vary in parts based on the options you chose.

For the sake of this sneak peek, we're going to assume that MC killed the guy with gravikinesis and that MC wears their mask but tells the kid their code name 😄 Oh, and also that MC is interested in becoming Vigilante first or only interested in becoming Vigilante.

The conversation tapers off and you reach forward to turn up the radio a bit to fill in the silence, just in time to catch the tail-end of the song that has been playing. A news jingle immediately follows it.

"Good afternoon, citizens of Elysium City! I hope all of you are having a wonderful day because today, we have some news fresh from the oven and no, it's not about the Superheroes or the Nemesis Project this time.

"Last night, the ECPD was met with another gruesome crime scene in the Lower South Acheron District after what seems to be an act of vigilante-ism was taken too far. The criminal killed was suspected to be the same one who had been terrorizing the area for months now.

"Right now in the studio, we have two direct eyewitnesses—well, no, they actually almost became the victims of this criminal last night. May I present to you, Miranda Martínez, a staff here in the Voice of Elysians radio station, and her ${mc_son}, Jules Martínez."

"Hey, Camille."

"So, Miranda, can you tell us a bit about what happened last night?"

"Uh, yeah. So, it was pretty late last night, and we were walking home. I was starting to regret my decision to not take a taxi instead, but we were getting pretty close to our apartment by that time, so I took ${mc_his} hand in mine and we basically power-walked to try to get home as fast as possible.

"But when we were only two blocks away, a man stopped us and pulled us into one of the alleyways. I was so scared, but I tried talking to him, to negotiate. He said he wanted everything I owned, so I handed him my purse; I didn't want to risk both Jules' life and mine. But still, he won't let us go. I'm still not sure what else he could've wanted—"

"And then I tried attacking the man so he would let go of Mama! But I was too small and he easily beat me… He threatened to burn my face, but I was not scared!"

It was undoubtedly the little kid you saved last night and they still sound as excitable as they were last night.

They continue, "It was then, ${mc_he} came to save us! $!{mc_he} came out of the darkness and then—and then, I don't know how, but ${mc_he} threw the bad guy to a wall without even touching him and then, a few seconds later, the bad guy's head popped like a balloon!"

"Jules—!" $!{mc_his} mother tries to scold ${mc_him} but is cut off by the host.

"Oh! Can you tell us more about this mysterious vigilante? Do you see what ${mc_he} looks like?"

"Yeah! $!{mc_he} told me ${mc_he} goes by the codename "$!{codename}"! Which is really cool!"

"How about ${mc_his} appearance? Did you catch anything?"

"No… $!{mc_he} was wearing a mask so we couldn't see ${mc_his} face at all. But the mask was very cool! It was like, pure black and it looked kinda alive!"

"Aww, that's too bad, but at least we know what to call our vigilante: "$!{codename}", which I'm pretty sure I haven't heard before, so watch out criminals and villains, because there is a new vigilante on the block and ${mc_he} @{mc_plural don't|doesn't} seem to be the type to play around. How about you, Miranda? Do you have anything else to add?"

"Nothing, really. Like Jules said, the vigilante was wearing a mask and we couldn't discern anything about ${mc_his} physical appearance. But, from what I've seen of the ability ${mc_he} used, ${mc_he} is probably a really powerful telekinetic."

"Really interesting… Well, how do you feel about ${mc_him} killing someone in front of you and your ${mc_son}? It must've been a traumatizing experience."

"Oh, yeah, yeah… It was really gruesome and I was just frozen in place in fear. I thought ${mc_he} was going to hurt me and Jules next, but ${mc_he} didn't. $!{mc_he} handed me my purse back and even gave us four hundred bucks to treat Jules' wounds…

"I wouldn't lie, I probably won't be able to scrub the image from my mind for the rest of my life, but in the end, I am really grateful to ${mc_him} for saving me and my ${mc_son}. Who knows what would've happened if ${mc_he} wasn't there to intervene. And the money ${mc_he} gave… It was such a blessing. It really covered the bill to get Jules treated."

"Yeah!" Little Jules chirps in again. "Thank you so much, $!{title} $!{codename}! You're my true hero and I wanna be like you when I grow up!"

You really try to keep your face straight, but a slight smile still tugs on your lips against your will after listening to the interview and the adorable thank you from Little Jules. To know that you have saved people from what could've been a disastrous life-changing event and helped them directly… It surprises you a bit on how good it feels.

You're really lucky to be able to catch a glimpse of what your future as a vigilante would be like and how it would make you feel, and you know you're making the right choice. This experience just makes you even more determined to become a vigilante, spending the nights patrolling the streets, saving innocent civilians, and protecting them from the criminals and villains infesting the city.

MC: Now that I've explained the rules of the system, does anyone have any questions?

Everyone: *shakes head*

MC: Alright then, let's start writing our names on chits. I'll get the hat while you start writing.

*leaves and comes back*

MC: I'm back! Alright let's start putting our names in- wait, there shouldn't be THAT many chits?? Did you all write your names more than once?

Lucifer: Ask the ones trying to 'better the game'.

Mammon: See I was doing some calculations in my head, yeah? And I noticed that if your name is only in one of the chits, then chance one of us pulling your name is only 8.3%. And it becomes 0% if someone already pulls your name, and those odds ain't fair!

MC: ....

Levi: He regularly fails in Math classes but now he's suddenly a professor of probability!?

Asmo: Seriously! He can only do math when it's about Grimm or MC, how typical.

Satan: Coming back to topic, we throught a good way to increase the odds of getting your name was just to add it a few more times.

Solomon: Well it was supposed to be 'few' but we all ended writing your name. So your name appears 13 times, including your own.

Belphie: Which raises the odds of us getting you to 52% so we all agreed.

MC: You do realise that will also result in multiple of you getting my name and a lot of people may end up not getting picked AT ALL.

Barbatos: Yes indeed, we thought of that as well and we've come up with another solution to that.

MC: I was barely gone for 5 minutes-

Beel: Yes and everyone made sure to use their time to the fullest!

Simeon: Everyone who pulls your name gets their names put in another hat and then you pull a name from there! And that person and you become gift partners and everyone else plays again normally.

hiiii do you have any advice on not feeling femme enough? i've been identifying as a femme lesbian for a few years but these past few months i've been really worrying i'm not enough of a femme to deserve that label, because i don't really look or act like all the incredible femmes i see on social media. i think you're amazing and i was wondering if you had any advice for me?

I have a few things that really helped me.

First thing was looking for and following more femmes like me and femmes that kind of go outside of the standard expectation of femmes (which is still middle class, cis, skinny, able bodied, white, hyper feminine), witnessing not only the possibility of being me as femme, but also how different femme can look to each individual helped start my progress.

With this, I will add, I feel frustrated sometimes by how much skinny, able bodied, white, hyper feminine femmes are given the spotlight sometimes, even treated as an authority that speaks for all of us. Like there's quite a stark difference between the attention they get and how others get treated, also the amount of effort needed to get that attention. A lot of people don't get recognised and seen in the community, get overlooked as femme, because we keep getting overshadowed in such situations. There's still a lot of work to be done in our community to actually value diversity.

Second: Reading butch/femme history and butch/femme stories are quite helpful too. I was able to feel pride and belonging with that. Bonus points if it has authors with different backgrounds and different intersections of identity.

Finding a book that had a piece that talked about being a disabled femme is a moment that I'll probably always hold close to my heart.

Last, but not least, get in touch with other femmes, there are a few discord servers going around lately and talking to other femmes, understanding the deep subjectivities each of them carries within their own identity, understanding insecurities that a lot of the time are shared, this is to give yourself more of a full picture of femme.

And I will tell you, there is no right or wrong way to be femme, it'll never be a one size fits all identity, how different each of us are is part of why our identity is so beautiful. Social media is just a snippet of our lives.

I'm hoping to get back into writing soon, but starting is always the hardest part for me. I have so many ideas but I'm terrible at executing them. Any tips/inspo you could spare?

Hmm...

Setting a timer or using a Spring Bot (on discord) is useful to help getting you to focus on "This Is Writing Time", but as often as it helps me focus it also ends up showing me how unfocused I am - nothing says "Maybe not today" quite like meaning to write for 30 minutes and getting 100 words out.

Or maybe that amount means you had to work to get your feet under you.

What I mean is, you want to try maybe once a day, or every other day, or as much as you can, but if those first 15-30 minutes don't get you into a groove, don't force it. Go do something else. Forcing it will just get frustrating.

Sometimes too I find it's best to just start with what I want to write. don't worry about the opener, the ending, the next chapter, etc. Just start writing. I have a few unposted WIPs where I have like mid-and ending chapters mapped out with snippets of full sections already wrote, with almost nothing mapped out leading up to them.

I got the words down, and at some point I'll sort out how to get there. I've jumped ahead even on stuff I do have posted. Passing Fascination is posting slow for now, but I have a lot of Down The Road stuff done and once I reach it the updates will happen faster.

But I'm not rushing getting there because I don't want to be disappointed in rushing the story just to get to the good parts.

It's also why I write more than one thing at a time. I've got something ridiculous like 14 open WIPs right now. In July I'm adding the Host Club AU to that list whether or not I've finished anything else.

But this lets me think about story stuff during lulls at work (or shower, or chores, or commute), and then go "okay today I'll work on this story because I know what I want to write" - whether that's the next chapter, or 4-5 chapters out.

Words don't expire, so it doesn't matter when I write what parts, just that I keep writing. And sometimes writing what I want will get my brain to realize what I need to do to get there.

And sometimes when I get there I edit/adjust what I had to fit in with the build up more smoothly. Words don't expire but they're not set in stone either.

And don't get frustrated if you write 5k words and then have to scrap it. You still got the experience of writing that, and you can use that to keep writing. It's okay. It's part of the process. It's not a straight line, it's a journey where back-tracking is perfectly fine.

I do like listening to music and having art up of whoever I'm writing about it - it helps ME focus, but it's not a for everyone type of thing either.

But that's off the top of my head. If I think of something more I'll add it... if any of that even helps ^^;
