thinking about horror film au marauders.. (tw. lotta gore)
lily the nerdy, bossy character that comes out with a giant axe and brutally beats up the killer/s to the shock of every other character
peter is either the bargaining character that tries to bargain and give the killer/s what they want just as he's about to die. or the character secretly on the killer's side that's revealed at the end
definitely giving wolfstar the making out whilst a killer is in their house/car/woods
mary, dorcas, remus, and lily all turning to each other wondering which of them is gonna die first, when they realise they're basically in a horror film cause of the black character dying first trope (i watched the blackening yesterday and the tagline "we can't all die first" gave me this hc. very good film. highly recommend)
sirius is the resident horror film expert that tells them what the killer usually does next (im imagining someone dying and everyone is just screaming over the dying body and sirius is also screaming but then adds in "this is exactly like that scene in wrong turn!"
the screamers are probably mary, remus, and james. not a definite though. i can see it being other people.
marlene gets the most jump scare scenes and emmeline gets the most hearing creaking and footsteps
james is the best at fighting but absolutely hates blood. feel like there needs to be a scene where he's like punching a masked killer and is doing SO WELL. and he gets the killer on the ground and is about to pull the mask off when the killer pulls out a knife and stabs at his hands and chest and shit. and he just screams and backs away staring at his blood until he faints.
as marlene dies, she clutches dorcas' hand and whispers "the lesbians never get a happy ending. apart from fear street... why couldn’t this be like fear street?"
the final girl HAS to be mary. ofc.
#im very much a satire horror fan. in case you couldn’t tell from this.#gonna explain how everyone dies (other than mary) in the tags cause im having ideas now i thought i was finished#idk the order so this is random and not at all chronological#remus- is high as fuck. thinks sirius or james is pranking him and then gets stabbed or whatever#sirius- tries to out horror the killer. tips a bucket of fake blood on them. has a chainsaw and mask#has a bunch of recording devices with sounds he previously made. etc. but then his fucking phone goes off#and he gets so annoyed because thats such a rookie mistake. and he asks to cut and do a retake just before the killer kills him#marlene- kinda already said about her death. but feel like it's def outside like in the street and shes only with dorcas#i already said james' death#lily- feel like there's more than one killer and she manages to kill one. just to turn around and another to get her#dorcas- she gets VERY into it once marlene dies. definitely gets hits in if not killing some of the killers.#but they ultimately get stabbed a lot and they run to marlene's body whilst bleeding out instead of the hospital#and she dies in marlene's dead grasp.#emmeline doesn't get killed for a while. is bait in a plan to catch killer/s but the plan goes wrong and she gets pushed out a high window#i havent mentioned other characters but why not say their deaths.#regulus- he's made to be involved with like a scene in a library where they go to him to ask about some secret history of the town#and then is killed the next day but has s bunch of writings and pages of books around his room about the killers and hes solved it#but the killer burns it all before anyone gets there#pandora- kinda want her to the first death for some reason idk.. like it gets framed as a suicide but so many people dont believe it#and the killings go on#barty- sees the masked killer and like jokes around touching their mask and stuff. and then the killer just like. brings out an axe#and chops his head off#evan- dont know why but im imagining him driving and getting those spikes in the road to lure him out the car#also btw didn't mention peter's death cause im leaning towards him being secretly one of the killers#and gets killed by either lily or dorcas#was gonna say barty and evan could be killers then i realised i made them kill reg and pandora and cas so people would not like that#also no mary death obviously since shes the final girl. survivor ever <3 immortal <3#marauders era#marauders#tw. gore

I’m not saying that a lot of Regulus fans are only interested in him because they picture him as a Timothee Chalamet insert and wouldn’t give half a fuck about the character if that fancast didn’t exist but… oh wait that is what I’m saying.
yeah i mean. i definitely think there's something in that lol honestly. as ive said before i never really got the interest in regulus i just couldnt care less about the guy he genuinely has zero canon character but. simultaneously i can see how the little that we do know about him makes him an interesting character and i can see why people enjoy the idea of him as a blank slate that you can superimpose nearly any traits you want on to--treating regulus as essentially an oc gives you lots of room for creation. its for these exact reasons that he is of no interest to me personally, and i really don't like the common conceptualisation of him that has emerged from popular headcanon consensus (especially when it involves stripping his character of all agency and half the things that could arguably make him compelling in order to gloss over the fact that he was a death eater) but thats a matter of opinion i suppose. thats a me problem. its just not my cup of tea.
the timothee chalamet thing irritates me for the same reason the ridiculous instagram model/influencer/celebrity fancasts for most characters irritate me, because one of the ONLY things we know about regulus is that he is 'less handsome than sirius'. like ok why not work with that. especially with a character like him where there is virtually nothing to work with. like please explain to me why you refuse to accept that im genuinely curious. why is that the aspect of his character you are so firmly refuting lol.
all in all, if the character is only likeable or interesting or a convincing love interest if you have to pretend they were actually super conventionally attractive, maybe they're just not that likeable or interesting or well-suited to the character you're trying to pair them off with. its a personal thing again i am just not interested in reading/writing about a cast of characters who are all meticulously tailored to conform to beauty standards i do not respect. the minute u try to convince me all your characters are super hot n yassified it all feels less real to me sorry i care less about them. im bored of hot characters i think all fictional characters should be made to look like normal everyday people and i think everyone should be less afraid of so-called ugliness i triple dog dare u
#the 'you' here is just a general vague you btw it is not directed towards any one person and obviously not you anon we're in agreement#and reading it back i fear i may come off a little more aggressive than i intended so psa this is all my opinion like. do what you want#i am not the final word on this issue or any other. i am just a guy no 1 is obligated to listen to me if they dont want to. except about r#anyway remember talking to liv about the whole regulus thing and how. the personality that has been invented for him just seems like#people were bored of r/s they wanted something like r/s but new so they superimposed remus' personality onto him and then added a#few bits of sirius. and this is all me ranting about my opinion mindlessly now but i think#its reflected in those stupid terrible incorrect quote joke posts and how you see one of them where its remus and sirius and then see the#exact same post remade except remus has been changed to regulus and sirius has been changed to james. like yeah because regulus#is just a carbon copy of remus except if he was goth lol. we've done this one before its the same thing#and absolutely regulus can be done well and absolutely i am not a definitive judge of what is 'doing regulus well' just as no one else is#but i think if u want to do regulus well u have to make him less likeable. like he cant be ur soft loveable fav. girl he was a death eater#same as i think the whole barty / evan / regulus / pandora gang is just people refurbing the marauders. same thing different colour#anyway. i feel about regulus the same way i feel about dorcas or mary or marlene. they are not really characters#they dont have any definitive canon traits and i am not really interested in creating ocs. but other people might love that idea!#which is fine!#whew. love it when i get asks about things im scared to talk about of my own accord like i cant get in trouble if you guys asked me first x#anon#telegram#the brothers black#also girls he is a product of generation after generation of inbreeding. the black family should look like the windsors sirius was an#outlier.#oh also sorry i thought i was done but i want to clarify that i am no way saying you cannot be interested in morally grey characters or#find them compelling. instead what i am trying to say is that pretending a morally grey character actually isnt morally grey#in order to justify the fact that you are interested/fond of/compelled by them is boring and a disservice to your fav. hope that makes sens#within what we do know about regulus there are things that make him GOOD but not really anything that makes him likeable. and so much#of popular headcanon seems to be bestowing a ton of likeable traits upon him in order to redeem him despite there being no canon basis 4 it#like. we know regulus was a death eater 'it wasnt his decision he was forced into it!' we know regulus was less handsome than sirius 'no he#wasnt he was also super hot!' do you see what you're doing. you're losing me.

begging for more crumbs of obsessed and oblivious best friend james x reader 🫣🫣 it’s gotten out of hand, like how can y’all not see this isn’t normal behaviour 🤭 you guys don’t even bat an eyelash when james and the boys join you for breakfast, james using the exact same spoon that was just in your mouth. hell even minerva noticed the two of you, james resting his head on your shoulder when he’s done with his work, you wearing his jumper more than he does just because his scent brings you comfort, the boys room definitely have more of your things than james in there 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
okay but i genuinely do think sharing clothes/cuddling can be normal friend shit so i chose eating off of the same spoon
--
Marlene offers you the courtesy of sneakiness when she attempts to steal the food off of your plate, but James is beneath that. He doesn't bother trying to spare your feelings, he reaches over and snatches a piece of fruit right out from beneath your hand.
"James," Remus elbows the man, "The bowl's a foot away."
"But she's got all the good pieces," James speaks awkwardly, chin jutted out to prevent juice from flowing down his chin as he devours the grapefruit he'd snatched. And- okay, maybe he's right, maybe you'd picked over the fruit salad until you'd found the ripest, the juiciest, the tangiest pieces you could find, but there's barely anyone left in the dining hall, and you'd have left some if you'd known the boys still hadn't eaten yet.
"It's okay, he's right." You wave James's appalling table manners away, using the napkin in your lap to dab at the sticky juice on his chin despite his best efforts, "I took the good stuff."
"Thanks, bug," James hums, leaning into your doting presses of cloth to his skin, "Y'got any blueberries in there?"
"I ate 'em all," Marlene admits, and you shoot her a glare you'd never dare level in James's direction, "-What? So I can't do it but he can?"
"There's blueberries in my oatmeal James," You ignore her, speaking over the tail end of her indignance lest the man beside you catch on to what she's implying, "You can have some, if you want."
"Thanks again, bug," He grins, taking the spoon from between your fingers and blanketing your residual warmth in the metal with his own large fingers. He dips into the bowl of oatmeal that you'd made yourself, catching two blueberries on the spoon, and pops it into his mouth.
Sirius's own jaw splits to reveal a disgusted expression, and he sings it to the tune of a shaky groan.
"That's so fuckin' gross, mate. She had that in her mouth!"
"And now it's in mine," James speaks around the metal; you'll have to break this terrible habit of his, "S'alright, mate, I accidentally used your toothbrush the other day, and you're still kicking."

maybe reader has some mean fake friends and james comforts her after something happens?
james saves his pretty girl from some mean girls!
“C’mon, baby, I know that’s cold.” James frowns as he tugs your top up. It’s wet, and embarrassing, but you don’t move.
Coke and vodka drip down your elbows, staining the pretty white fabric of your new top, and most notably, your pride. It’s a gross reminder that those girls aren’t your friends, they’ve never been your friends, and they’ll never want to be.
Tears well in your eyes, embarrassment mixed with shame. Girls could be so mean.
James takes a moment.
He’s seen you cry- believe him, but this felt worse. Worse than him walking in on panic induced tears. This was heavier, and more delicate by far.
“C’mon” he breathes again, his shoulders slumped. It’s impatient, but not unkind. James doesn’t have an unkind bone in his body, he just doesn’t know what do do.
You shake your head, eyes squeezing shut, letting the tears drip down your cheeks.
“My love.” He laments, taking you in his arms. “Please don’t cry.”
The embrace is a warm reminder that james is always there for you. Always has been. Who cares if some mean girls ruined your new favorite shirt?
You had other friends anyways, James thought, you didn’t need those girls. Mary, Marlene, Lily, and Dorcus, had never been unkind to you. He didn’t understand why you wanted the other girls to like you so deeply.
But he’s never been a girl, and he recognizes this morosely.
He pulls away, knocking the tears with his knuckles, and not bothering to wipe them on his shirt. “Arms up.”
You can hear Sirius and Remus kicking the girls out over the loud crowd of a rowdy party. Your lip wobbles, so early into the party and the funs been spoiled. “None of that.” James smooths the wrinkle in your chin with his thumb.
The silence following the splash of liquid had been deafening, and by far the most humiliating thing you’ve ever experienced.
You take a peak at your shirt. It’s brownish, and wet, and It’s worse than you remember it being 4 minutes ago. Is that possible? The heels of your palms come up to your eyes. “My top.” You grieve.
“I’ll get you a new one, don’t worry your head off.” He tugs on your shirt again, gentle, but it gets your attention nonetheless. “Arms up.” He whispers.
You lift them, letting James tug the shirt off and wipe down your wet arms before throwing it into the garbage pail next to the toilet. It sits on a mountain of tissue and Remus’s used contacts. You look at it hopelessly, wiping your palms of tears. “I don’t want a new one.”
He shrugs off his zip up, messily pulling it onto you and zipping it to your shoulders. Stepping back, he admires his work of an outfit change. “It won’t just be new, it’ll be better.”
He tries to smile for you.
“You didn’t like this one?” You ask, glossy eyes daring to peer at his own.
His smile drops. “Are you kidding?” He moves forward and his fingers press into your arms, messily moving up and down for the friction of warmth. “I loved that one.”
“Then how’ll my new one be better?”
He pretends to think. “You’ll be wearing it.” You scoff in disbelief and he laughs, loud and defensive, “I’m serious! I love anything you wear, especially my zip up.”
You look down at the black hoodie. “It’s a bit big, no?”
“But it looks good on you.” He shrugs.
“It doesn’t show anything.”
“You know that’s never mattered to me.” He smiles boyishly, fingers dropping to the crook of your elbows and squeezing a little tighter than before. It’s cheesy, but it works. He leans down, smile still plastered on his face as he goes for a kiss. It’s warm and sweet, but you can still feel his grin. He works his hands up to your neck and behind, avoiding the coke vodka mixture still coating your damp hair. “You know that.”
You push up his slipping glasses. “I know.”
His nose twitches, preening at the touch of your fingers. “D’you reckon they have a hair dryer?”
“Sirius definitely does.” You nod.
He giggles, dropping to his knees to open the sink cabinets. “Sirius is going to kill us.”

Hey elle :)
requesting poly!marauders x reader (or any of them individually if you prefer) where they're at some sort of big event with cameras and press, and she feels a bit overwhelmed but sticking with the boys helps her relax? especially once they're inside the event and past all the craziness it's quite enjoyable
love ALL your writing! and feel free to ignore this if it isn't something you'd enjoy writing, all my love <3
hi sweets! thanks for your request - I opted to go wolfstar if that's alright? thanks for being here with me 🫶
poly!wolfstar x fem!reader modern band AU
CW: references to alcohol, weed, someone being 'good in bed'
You think it might have been the fifty-seventh time that your name was shouted that did you in. All of the noise turned into a steady hum and barely registered in your ears anymore.
You weren’t even quite sure why you were here. One minute you were playing in a garage band with your college friends in shitty pubs near campus, the next thing you know, you were on the red carpet at the fucking Vanity Fair Oscar’s After Party.
Though you biasedly agreed that your band was indeed quite good, you weren’t so sure that it earned you, Marlene, Sirius, James, and Remus VIP invitations to such an event. You were watching the likes of Margot Robbie, Issa Rae, Paris Hilton and other A-List celebs walk past you and Jesus Fucking Christ was that a Kardashian?
“Y/N! Over here!” Another voice infiltrated your senses, and you were reminded of the many flashing lights pointing at you.
You weren’t invited to the Oscar’s and you weren’t even an actor; surely this event didn’t require your attendance?
But you couldn’t deny that James, and particularly Marlene and Sirius were thriving in their roles as rockstars. Admittedly, it was Sirius that made this all worth it for you.
You and Remus were more understated than the rest of the group – both here for the love of music and for the love of your friends and very little else. James, being a child of two celebrities, was very accustomed to events such as these, and Marlene and Sirius were both the absolute definition of rockstars; intense, bold, fun and vivacious. You knew exactly why the crowds loved them.
You couldn’t blame them either; it was what drew you and Remus to Sirius as well.
He had the ability to make every person in the room feel like they had 100% of his attention and devotion; he was here for you. No doubt when it was his turn on this carpet, each photographer and journalist currently standing in front of you had felt very the same way.
Your relationship with your two bandmates wasn’t public knowledge, though it was absolutely public speculation that something was up with you three.
You’d like to blame it on Sirius; he was always the least likely to control his urges to ogle you or Remus or indulge in lingering touches whether everyone was watching or not. But you also knew it was in part Marlene and James’ fault – both of whom were very public with their relationships to the band manager Dorcas Meadows and a well-known photographer Lily Evans, respectively.
And finally, it was a little bit your own faults, refusing to speak on your relationship status when your fellow bandmates were far more open.
But you liked having these boys to yourself without having to share them with the public; there was the version of them that the public got and then there was the version of them that you got, and you didn’t want the line between those versions to blur.
The unfortunate consequence of that decision was having to do some of this on your own.
This, being shouted at to ‘look this way!’, ‘over here!’ or ‘turn around for us’, the last one making you very uncomfortable because you were quite sure none of the boys were asked to turn around for the camera’s.
The band had taken their group photos and horrifyingly, you were all asked to pose separately as well.
If you’d wanted to be photographed alone, perhaps you would have gone into this industry alone and not with the support of a group.
Stop complaining, you chided yourself, do you know how many people dream of a moment like this?
You were finally thanked for your time and effectively dismissed as – fucking hell – Ariana Grande stepped onto the carpet to take your place.
Your personal assistant - because you had things like personal assistant’s now – met you behind the curtains of the carpet to hand you a bottle of water.
“Okay, now they just want a quick shot of you all at the Glambot and then you’re free to enter the event.” She explained hastily as she took the water bottle back and put it in her purse.
“Great.” You muttered, trying to give yourself a little pep talk as you began to make your way to the line for the Glambot. Your dress felt too tight, your heels too high, and the various stage lighting too hot, but you found that your heart rate began to drop dramatically when you saw the likes of your two boyfriends and James and Marlene already in line.
Sirius and James cheered as they saw you approaching, causing the few people who weren’t already looking in their direction to turn.
You were sure your cheeks had the majority of your blood flow by now, and silently hoped that your makeup didn’t completely melt off from the heat radiating there.
“There you are gorgeous!” Sirius called over as Marlene wolf whistled at you.
“You guys are horrid, you know that?” You muttered as you stepped into line with them and James threw a protective arm over your shoulder.
Sirius laughed like a good sport, though you noticed that his eyes were far more sincere than his somewhat performative smile.
“I think we all ought to stick together, huh dollface? I’ve grown entirely too codependent on you lot to last more than five minutes out of your vicinity.” He commented, throwing a wink over at Remus who offered him a fond eyeroll in return.
But both of you heard it for what he was really trying to say in front of all the reporters; “I missed you, thank you both for doing this, I’m so happy to be here with you.”
“Yeah! What’s the fun of starting a band with your best friends when you have to do half of the fun stuff without them?!” Marlene agreed, gently nudging you with her elbow.
“My sentiments exactly.” You agreed.
By the time the group of you made it to the front of the Glambot line, Sirius and Marlene quickly stepped up to be the one’s talking to Cole Walliser and deciding on the group’s pose.
“Honestly, I know I was raised for this, but it’s like he was born for this.” James commented, leaning in to whisper to you and Remus.
“Never say that to him, his ego is already massive.” Remus responded, and though Sirius was in the middle of a sentence with Cole, his eyes darted over and he considered the three of you skeptically. He’d always said he had a sixth sense when it came to you and Remus, and it appeared he was right in that regard.
“I’m so sorry Cole, I think they’re talking smack. Oi! Are you guys taking the piss back there?” He said, throwing the three of you a cheeky smirk.
Marlene scoffed, adding “of course they are, Sirius.”
James quickly shook his head. “Nope! We were just talking about how good you look tonight, Pads, and how we can’t wait to take you back to the hotel and ravish you.”
Cole let out a hearty laugh and more camera’s flashed as the group of you chuckled.
“This is not helping with the rumours.” Remus muttered with a head shake, though his smile belittled any chagrin he may have been going for.
“Who said it was a rumour?” You joked, offering him a flirty wink.
The group of you had realized that playing into the rumours and joking about it was the best way to field questions and speculation. Somehow, it had grown to the point that there were theories that all five of you were in a polyamorous relationship.
“You guys are so funny.” Cole said, collecting himself from his laughter; you didn’t know if he truly meant that or if he was just doing his job as the lovely host, but you appreciated his encouragement, nonetheless.
The Glambot went well, you think. You hoped. You wouldn’t know until it was all over social media tomorrow so opted not to worry about it as the four of you migrated into the event space.
Tumblr media
The event didn’t turn out half bad if you were honest. You got to eat and drink and chit-chat with some of the biggest celebrities of your time, you took an astronomical number of selfies, and danced the night away with your friends and boyfriends.
But if you were being super honest - the best part of the night was getting back to the hotel with Remus and Sirius.
Sirius was catching his breath like he’d run a marathon and you were sure his cheeks hurt from smiling so damn hard all night, but he was still riding his high as he fussed around the hotel room.
Remus looked just as delighted at Sirius’ obvious joy as you did but was nearly dead on his feet, exhaustion weighing down his movements as he all but melted into a wingback chair.
“Oi! What’re you doing, gorgeous? That’s my job.” Sirius chided as he swatted at your hands which were in the process of attempting (and failing) to undo the zipper of your dress.
You didn’t put up much of a fuss as he undid your dress and gently kissed your shoulders; massaging the skin and muscles along your back that the gown had been digging into.
You stepped out of the dress and caught the tshirt Remus had tossed to you before throwing it over your form and falling backwards haphazardly onto the bed.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been so tired.” You moaned, relishing in the luxurious sensation of the downy duvet enveloping you in a hug.
You heard both boys chuckle through their nose as you felt someone - Sirius - start fiddling with the buckles of your shoes where your feet hung over the edge of the bed.
Sirius pressed a kiss to your knee as he stood and disposed of your shoes near your suitcase before moving to Remus.
Remus groaned petulantly and went no bones when Sirius tried to help him up. “No.”
“Rem. Get up.” Sirius chuckled.
“Go away.”
“Moons, you cannot sleep in a chair, and you cannot sleep in a tuxedo.”
“Watch me.”
“Leave him there to die, Siri.” You commiserated from your own place of death.
“Yeah. Leave me here to die, Siri.” Remus repeated sardonically. “Take care of our sweet girl, yeah? Tell her I love her.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at that and though Remus kept up the ruse of being ‘asleep’ - you felt your heart swell at the smile that adorned his lips at the sound of your laugh.
“You wanker.” Sirius chided lovingly through his own laughter as he pecked a kiss to your boyfriend’s head and started helping him strip from his place in the chair.
You must’ve drifted off momentarily, as by the time you opened your eyes next, Sirius had just convinced Remus to stand long enough to pull a pair of pajama bottoms up his legs as Remus rubbed at his eyes like a giant overtired toddler.
“How’d you end up falling in love with two eighty-something twenty-something-year-old’s, Sirius?” You asked sleepily from your place on the bed.
Remus chuckled as he sat back down in his chair by the sliding doors, opening it up to light a joint before bed.
I have no clue, but I’m so glad they love me back.” Sirius said as he started to change out of his own formal attire.
You could tell that the night was starting to wear on him slightly, but there were still notes of excitement and adrenaline pumping through his veins as he went about his bedtime routine.
“You’re phenomenal at this; you know that, right?” You commented, causing Sirius to pause what he was doing to look over at you, expression softening into something hopeful.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” You agreed readily. “The best, really.”
He quickly finished up what he was doing and hurried over to the bed, laying down on his stomach and propping himself up on his elbow so he could look down at you.
“Thank you baby.” He said quietly, using one of his hands to rub absentmindedly on your thigh. “I couldn’t do it without you two.”
Remus scoffed as he made his way over to the bed, having locked up the sliding door and matching Sirius’ position from your otherside.
You both loved and hated when they did this; it felt as though they were ganging up on you, exposing all your feelings and flaws. But you also felt undeniably worshiped under their loving gazes.
“I think you’d do just fine without us there, love.” Remus spoke, gently squeezing Sirius’ hand before resting his hand on top of your sleep shirt over your ribs, gently rubbing his thumb back and forth.
“Nope. Not a chance.” Sirius denied quickly.
“You were born for the stage, Sirius. For the flashing lights and cameras and talking.” You pressed.
“Only thing I was born to do was love the two of you.” He contended.
Remus breathed a laugh through his nose as you made a cooing sound.
“This just in,” Remus started, imitating a newscaster. “Renowned rockstar Sirius Black has gone soft.”
Sirius scoffed in faux contempt as he reached over to pinch Remus’ side.
“I am trying to thank you guys.” Sirius chided, his sarcastic smile turning soft as you and Remus relented and turned to face him. “I’m so grateful to have you guys by my side through all of this, I know it’s not really either of your things. And I know you’d both likely be just as happy if we called this all off tomorrow, but…”
He seemed to trail off as he looked over your forms towards the windows. “But….” You pressed, nudging him to continue.
“Don’t go shy on us now, Black.” Remus teased.
Sirius rolled his eyes but a smile broke out across his face. “But I’m so incredibly gone for both of you. I love you, I love this. All of it.”
“I love you too, Sirius.” You offered simply, leaning up to press a gentle kiss to his lips and ignoring the stiffness in your joints.
Remus, never one to pass up on an opportunity to take the piss, rolled his eyes as he let his elbow fall to lay flat on his back beside you.
“Yeah, yeah. I love you too, I guess. You’re just lucky you’re both so good in bed, otherwise I’d have split up the band ages ago.”You started to cackle, overwhelmed with exhaustion, love, and probably some of the alcohol still in your system as Sirius threw himself onto Remus demanding he “take it back or so help him, God.”

From The Rooftops | J.P.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
James has been confessing his love for you forever, but this is the biggest attempt at wooing you yet — james x fem!reader fluff
warnings: heights ig cus james is an idiot on a roof
words: 0.8k
Tumblr media
You were walking outside, near Hagrid's hut with Marlene McKinnon when you saw a commotion near the school. Both of you were curious as to what was going on that was so enticing to all these students. You both tried to walk a little faster so you could see what was happening as soon as possible.
When you got there, you just wanted to roll back down the hill. It was James Potter standing on the roof of the Divination tower that had everyone so excited.
"Oh Merlin, that's really him." You said with an exhausted sigh.
You knew exactly what he was doing. He had been trying these elaborate acts to get your attention for what feels like a million years. It had begun small, but it's only gotten more extravagant as time went on.
You watched with a blank face as he tossed handfuls of flower petals down to you and all the other students enamoured by his bizarre version of courtship.
"Wonder what he's up there for." Marlene said sarcastically. No one in the school was a stranger to James' dramatics.
James seemed to have spotted you in the crowd of kids. "There she is! The love of my life, the beautiful (y/n)!"
"Get down from there, Potter!" You shouted back. "You know this is a terrible idea."
"On the contrary, my darling! I have so much love for you that I decided I need to shout it from the rooftops!"
Off to the side, you noticed Remus, Sirius, and Peter snickering together at their friend's idiocracy. You shot them a glare, and walked over to smack each one of them on the arm. "Why don't you talk him out of these things?" You hissed, then looked back up at James.
"Oh, believe you me, (y/l/n), we talk him out of the craziest ideas he has." Sirius told you.
"This isn't one of the crazy ideas?!"
"Not even close."
You rolled your eyes, not even wanting to think about all the ridiculous things that lovesick fool has proposed to get your attention.
James tossed down another handful of petals, reciting a list of reasons why the two of you should date. You snatched a red rose petal out of the air before it could reach the ground and held it up to show him.
"Look, James, I caught one of your flower petals. It's great, now come on down."
He shook his head. "Not until I know what awaits me down there."
Another sigh escaped your lips. He was absolutely maddening, and the worst part is that you were almost certain he was actually wearing you down.
"Would you come down if she agreed to date you?" Marlene shouted, earning another glare from you.
James' face lit up at the proposition. "Absolutely I would! Do you agree to those terms, my love?"
"Definitely not." You answered. "What else would you want?"
As you spoke, you reflexively caught another petal and wanted to scoff at yourself for going along and giving him what he wanted.
"I'll take anything you'll give me. I did like Marlene's idea, but perhaps a kiss is more your style?"
You looked back at Marlene, hoping she could suggest something. She just shrugged and shot you a smug smile.
"I'll kiss you on the cheek." You suggested to him.
He didn't seem satisfied. "And?"
You rolled your eyes. "And I'll let you sit next to me in all our classes for a week. Those two things in return for you getting down safely and stopping these dramatic spectacles."
He seemed happy with that. He tossed down the remaining pile of flowers, which the crowd around you loved. Then, he picked up his broomstick from behind him and flew down, landing right next to you. He carelessly dropped the broomstick and faced you, looking excited as ever.
"Now you have to live up to your end of the deal." He said with a grin. He puckered his lips and leaned down a bit.
You placed your hand on the top of his head, his signature curls filling the gaps between your fingers, and you turned his head to the side. "I said 'on the cheek'."
You did just as you had promised, and stood on your tiptoes to kiss him. You let your lips linger for a bit too long for someone who wasn't at all interested. Judging by his cocky smile, he noticed it as well.
"You're a piece of work." You told him, fighting back an expression to match his.
"You love me, and you know it."
You were getting to a point where he was right, but he didn't need to know that.

OKIE DOKES SO WHAT ABOUT THE MARAUDERS (AND READER) ALL BEING SINGLE ONE VALENTINE’S DAY, AND DECIDE TO HAVE A ‘GALENTINES/PALENTINES’ TYPE NIGHT - EITHER GOING OUT OR MAKING DINNER ETC AND THEN THE REALISATION AT THE END THAT IT WASNT ENTIRELY PLATONIC
notes: yes yes, yes and more yes!!! I accidentally just started writing with a fem reader. i’m sure there was a more poetic way to write this but i didn’t take that route lol.
warnings: second person, twister, kissing, my first time writing poly marauders.
Poly! Marauders/ Moonstarchaser x fem!reader
——-&——-
It was Valentine’s day, and by some curse (or miracle), you were all single. Peter and his girlfriend were away for the weekend, and you’d tried to have a Galentines, but all your female friends had partners - Screw Marlene and Dorcas, Alice and Frank and Lily with her hot scientist boyfriend.
“Sweet or Salty?” Sirius enters James’ flat with a cheeky grin, holding up Tesco bags.
“Sweet!” you glare
Galentines had turned to ‘Palentines’ and you all had plans to eat dinner, play a board game and then watch a rom com - James had already downloaded ‘How to Loose a Guy in 10 days’.
“Padfoot,” Remus says in a stern tone from the kitchen “Don’t tease her,”
“Yeah Pads,” James appears out of practically thin air, slamming himself down on the sofa next to you, his arm wrapping around you “Don’t tease her,”
Sirius sticks his tongue out and ruffles both of your heads before he goes to harass Remus.
“You okay pretty girl?” James asks gently and you nod
“Tired,”
“Tired?” he gasps “How will you keep up during Twister?” you groan “What’s wrong with Twister?”
“You’re always using it as an excuse to touch Remus up,”
“To be fair,” The man appears “Last time I started it,”
“You two never take it seriously,” you pout and Sirius whines behind you
“I know, we’ll have to do teams,” his hands find James' shoulders “Moony, when’s dinner?”
“Two minutes closer than when you last asked me,”
You snort and lean your head on James’s shoulder, letting Sirius rake his hands through your hair.
Eventually, dinner is served and you’re all sat at James rickety dining table, candles lit as James had made a point of saying “It’s Valentines day! Candles are romantic,” and halfway through dinner he also accused Sirius of playing footsie with him.
Well ‘acused’, he definitely was doing it because when his leg found your calf you’d kicked him hard enough to cause a bruise. During twister he’d also ended up under Remus, placing a kiss on his nose to distract him.
You think about these moments as you sit in between James and Remus, Sirius between your legs on the floor. You four had always been friends, but you haden’t always been like this, it started when you finished school, when you spent more time together.
When asked if you had a boyfriend while out drinking, Lily liked to say that you had three.
“Guys?” you say softly and Remus pauses the tv, recognising your tone “Are we-are we more than just friends?”
“what do you mean doll?” Sirius sits up and turns around to face you and you grow nervous, James wraps an arm around your waist and Remus and Sirius each grab a hand.
“We -“ you can’t describe it “Well, we don’t act the same around eachother as we do around Peter,”
“Cos that would be weird,”
“I know,” you sigh “I think…I don’t know. I think to want to kiss you all, and i think you probably want to kiss each other ,”
Their eyes widen at this, not because it’s not true, but because they didn’t think you’d be the first to admit it.
“Yeah,” James nods “I think that’s true,” and with that, his lips are on yours, and Sirius is calling bagsy to be next - you’re not sure who he was talking to, at least Remus was patient, kissing your hand delicately.

Better Off
Joel Miller x f!reader
joel miller masterlist
Joel's trying to keep his distance from her. But Tess has other plans for him and the girl he's trying so hard to forget about.
warnings | 18+ canon-typical violence, angst, feelings
a/n | this can be read as a standalone or as a part two to Looking, either way it's fun :)
.................................
She would never admit it, but she’s disappointed that things haven’t changed all that much with Joel, not since that night he came looking for her and all but murdered that guard that had been giving her trouble. Not since she kissed him on the cheek and told him how she feels about him.
He still won’t really talk to her, not unless it’s business. But now that she’s working almost entirely with Tess, even those opportunities are few and far in between. When they do speak, he keeps his eyes anywhere but on her. His hands in his lap, the laces of his boots, something just over her shoulder, but he never quite meets her gaze. More than anything, she feels embarrassed that she had been so forward with him that night. She had thought that he felt similarly, with the way he was blushing like a teenager at her flirting, but now it seems pretty clear that Joel Miller wants nothing to do with her outside of their business partnership.
She’s trying to not let it get to her, but her mind can’t help needling at it. Does he think she’s too young for him? Too talkative? Too crass? She flits away these questions easily, but her mind always settles on the fear that Joel just doesn’t take her seriously, not really. So, she’s resigned herself to the reality that her little crush is going to have to stay just that, focusing on her work with Tess as a distraction from him.
While Joel may be getting more distant, she and Tess have become quick friends in their work establishing a new trade partner right on the border of Vermont, often staying up late into the night when the talk shifts from smuggling routes to loose gossip and life. Joel had often passed by them, sitting at the kitchen table in his apartment, grumbling to himself before closing his bedroom door with a definitive thud. Tess would always apologize for her “dumbass associate,” and she would just shrug, trying not to take his clear hostility personally, though it sure seemed to be directed toward her. A few months passed like that, and with each day she convinced herself a bit more that she didn’t care about Joel Miller.
With summer creeping in, it’s just about time for Joel and Tess to make another seasonal trip out to Bill and Frank, and when she gets back to his apartment a few nights before they’re supposed to go, she’s surprised by the conversation he and Tess are having.
“Then we’ll just push it back.” Tess shakes her head in her hand where she’s sitting at the kitchen table.
“We can’t, Joel. Bill and Frank are already skittish as it is, if we go changing dates on them it’s just gonna raise their hackles.” Joel looks at her blankly, slumping back in his chair.
“Then you gotta push that meeting back instead.” Tess scoffs.
“I can’t. It’s time sensitive what I got worked out with Marlene. It’s now or never. You gotta go to Bill and Frank’s without me. She can go with you.” Her mouth goes dry when Tess nods over to where she’s still standing in the doorway, and her stomach twists when Joel is so quick to protest against the idea.
“Tess, I’m not going with her.” Tess looks ready to smack him upside the head, but she interjects, walking further into the room and fixing him with a steely look.
“What? You don’t think I can handle it, Miller? Well I can assure I manage just fine out there. Been running the route to Vermont nearly every week so don’t worry about me. I’ll go with you, and you’ll be lucky to have me along for the trip.” She shocks even herself with that outburst, but obviously not as much as Joel whose mouth is hanging open, eyes wide as he looks at her. Tess claps her hands together, startling him out of his surprised stupor.
“Well, that settles that. Thanks for taking on asshole duty, I owe you one.” Tess grins at her as Joel scoffs at her words. She however, is starting to realize exactly what she just signed up for.
It’s going to be a long hike.
Her mind has been swirling ever since they left the QZ. Now, pacing back and forth outside the hollowed-out gas station that Joel is rummaging through for supplies he had stashed, she keeps replaying the conversation she had overheard the night before between him and Tess. She hadn’t meant to eavesdrop, but when she heard Tess say her name, she had stopped in her tracks, leaning back behind the door frame of Joel’s bedroom to listen in.
“Joel, you’re being fucking ridiculous.”
“Don’t know what you’re talking about.” Tess laughed at that.
“Oh, you know exactly what I’m talking about. You’re gonna scare her away with the way you treat her, is that what you want?”
“No. I just– just don’t care to be around her, that’s all.” Her heart dropped at that, but Tess was quick to reply.
“Well I don’t believe that for one second. It’s kinda hard to scowl at someone while you’re also giving them puppy dog eyes. Joel, it’s pretty fucking clear that you’re sweet on her. And I know for a fact that she’s had a little thing for you too. But if you keep treating her like shit, whatever chance you have left with her is gonna be gone. Or worse, you’re gonna cost me my best business partner.” A heavy silence fell after Tess’ rant, Joel clearing his throat a few times before he answered.
“Look, it’s better off this way. She’s better off not getting– tangled up with me. Fuck– I’ll try to be– polite, I guess. Not gonna lose you a business partner, but it’s better for everyone if I keep my distance. She’ll get over it– tough as nails, that one. It’s better for her, Tess. Alright?” Tess sighed.
“Fine. But I still think it’s a shame that you’re just throwing away a chance at something actually good in this world.”
She had scurried out of his apartment at the sound of their conversation dying out, and ever since, her mind has been replaying it on an infinite loop. It had shocked her, hearing Joel all but openly admit that he had been harboring his own feelings for her. But that shock quickly rolled over to dismay that it was made explicitly clear that he wasn’t going to do anything to act on those feelings.
“You good?” She’s startled out of her thoughts by Joel shouldering his way out of the gas station, wordlessly passing her one of the guns he had stashed before. She nods as they already step back into stride, turning back to continue following the highway toward Bill and Frank’s.
Their hike so far has been quiet, save for monosyllabic communication, and the silence is starting to get to her, just enough that she finally opens her mouth. Anything’s better than staying stuck in her head.
“Joel? Can I ask you a question?” He hums out a reluctant permission, his head tilting slightly to look at her as they keep walking.
“What did you do before– well, before?” She knows he doesn’t like talking about the past, and judging by the way his face screws up at her question, she guesses he might not even answer, but she’s so sick of conversations about FEDRA guards and trade routes. She’d give anything to talk about something normal.
When he doesn’t answer, she sighs.
“Oh c’mon. We’ve got like another four hours of walking, might as well fill the time with something.” Still nothing, his eyes staying fixed forward on the crumbling road ahead of them. She huffs.
“Well I was a nurse– ER, if you can believe it.” That seems to pique his interest, finally glancing at her.
“Were you on shift when everything–?” She nods to his trailing off question.
“Sure was. Booked it out of there when my patients started taking bites out of doctors. Pfft, I remember one of my coworkers refusing to leave because she was worried about getting paid for her overtime.” She lets out a weak laugh, shaking her head at the strange memory. Joel clears his throat.
“I was a contractor. Me and my brother had a little business– building homes, that type of stuff. It was, um, good work.” She offers him a smile, surprised when he offers her one back. The moment is short lived however, when two infected come darting out of the treeline.
It’d be foolish to waste ammo, both of them scrambling to pull out knives. She makes quick work of the one coming up on her, turning to see Joel struggling on the ground with the other. But before she can help him, she gets tackled to the ground by another screeching infected, her knife skittering out of her hand at the impact. She rolls on the ground with the snarling creature, fighting back its snapping jaws as best she can, though it continues to press closer and closer into her. And then its body goes slack over her, and she can’t help the stifled shriek she lets out when it slumps heavy on top of her. Her whole body trembles as she shoves the body off of her, finding Joel standing over her, a wild look in his eyes.
He kneels down between her legs, helping her sit up as his hands dart anxiously over her, checking for bites. There’s a loud rushing in her ears, her hands shaking as she grasps onto the front of his flannel. His palms cup her face, warm and steadying as he coaxes her to look at him.
“Are you ok? Not hurt anywhere?” She’s never gotten so close to death, the shock of it settling icy and slick in her bones. She takes a shuddering breath before answering.
“I’m– I’m fine. I’m ok.” The worry rounding his eyes dissolves, his face setting back in a gruff, empty expression. She hates how she tries to lean into him when he takes his hands away from her face. He gets up with a groan, offering her a hand, but she has enough dignity to refuse to take it, scrambling onto her still unsteady legs.
“We should keep moving. There’s probably more where those came from.” She doesn’t respond to his words, just starts walking again, trying to steady the persistent shake in her hands.
The rest of their hike is silent until Joel suggests they break for the night, setting up camp in a thicket of trees just off the highway. They eat their rations silently in the slow-darkening summer dusk. She’s surprised when he offers her his flask.
“Helps with the nerves.” She swears she could get whiplash with the way he’s swinging from seeming to not give a fuck to acting like he cares. She wordlessly takes the flask from him, ignoring the flicker of his fingers brushing hers as she takes a hard swig.
“You sure you’re alright?” She can’t help but scoff at that.
“Careful, Miller. A girl might start to think you actually give a fuck about her.” He looks stricken by her harsh words, the fading light of day casting shadows over his furrowed expression.
“I– I do give a fuck about you.” She shakes her head, wrapping her arms around her shins where she’s sitting on her spread out sleeping bag.
“Oh I know. But you don’t want to, do you? That’s the problem. You don’t want to care about me. You think I’d be better off if you kept your distance from me.” His jaw goes slack at her words, leaning over his knees where he’s sitting across from her.
“I thought I heard you– you were listening in, weren’t you? To me and Tess? How much did you hear?” She sighs, turning her gaze down.
“Heard all of it.” It’s more of a mumble, but Joel hears it.
“Look, I’ll admit it– I like you– probably more than I should. But I’m right, darlin. It’s better this way. I’m no good for you. You best just forget about this.” Her head whips up at that, finally meeting his surprisingly sorrowful gaze.
“How can you say that, Joel? How could you possibly know what’s best for me? This isn’t about what’s best for me. You know what I think? I think you’re scared to let anyone get close to you. This isn’t better for me, it’s easier for you.” His expression has hardened, and she knows that she just pissed him off.
“That’s bullshit. You think this is easy for me? Pushing you away? Maybe you’ll understand when you’re a little older, darlin, but there ain’t anything easy about any of this.” She scoffs at that, anger coaxing up her spine.
“Oh please. That’s a weak excuse and you know it. Pulling the fucking age card. I’m not the one that needs to fucking grow up.” Somehow, in the heated volley of words, they’ve both ended up kneeling in front of each other, inching up into each other’s snarling faces.
“Oh, I need to grow up? That’s rich coming from the girl who just a few months ago was flirting with fucking feds for a few extra ration cards.” She does it before she can even think, her hand arcing with the goal of smacking him clean across his face, but before she can make contact, he grabs her wrist, holding her hand between them as she struggles in his grasp.
“Let go.” She can feel her anger seething off of herself, but Joel just cocks an eyebrow at her, firming up his grip on her wrist.
“No.” He says it so casually, she can’t help but laugh.
“What are you, a toddler? I said, let fucking go, you–” She’s cut off by his lips smashing into hers. Though she initially tries to fight it, she can’t help but mold her lips to his, seeking out the upper hand when she swipes her tongue over his bottom lip, causing him to groan lowly. He lets go of her wrist, his palms coming to squeeze at the curve of her hips as he topples back onto his ass, taking her with him as she straddles his thighs. It’s an angry, demanding little thing of a kiss, both of them fighting for dominance between swallowed gasps. He finally pulls back with a lewd smack, his eyes blown wide.
“You drive me fucking crazy, woman.” She snickers, tugging lightly at the hair at the nape of his neck.
“So much for not caring, Miller.” Tess was right. Tess was definitely right.

warnings: james is a leader not a planner, fluff!! bestfriend!james returns mwahaha
a/n: so sorry for this being literally two weeks after your birthday anon! life was kicking my ass but i hope you enjoy! writing many characters is something im trying to learn to make more organic
(posted and edited too many times to count 11/6/23)
There are a few things in life that James likes to think he’s very good at: making plans, pulling pranks, playing quidditch, and doing absolutely anything he can to make you smile. At first, he would laugh it off when his friends would say you two had something special. He is a gentleman, after all. James is the type of friend any of the girls would trust with a secret, or the one to borrow hair potion from when you’re in a pinch.
He loves to join in the gossip and crash your sleepovers when the boys are being ‘dreadfully boring’ (his words, not yours). He holds your bag when you walk to class (only yours, he’ll push Marlene’s books to the ground and run off laughing), bribes Peter with an extra helping of bacon to move his butt out of ‘your seat’ (whichever one was to the right of him) at breakfast, and definitely writes to his mom asking about what to get you for your birthday (and how much he’s been wanting to ask you out for almost about three years now).
Right... James is a great friend, so when you get all excited about your birthday, gushing about how you want to celebrate this year, he takes one look at the excitement on your face and hatches the perfect plan. Or so he thinks.
“I just can’t wait to celebrate with you guys, and not have to worry about exams, or projects, or boys, or curfew…” you muse, laying across Mary and Remus’s laps as everyone’s gathered in the common room. Sirius, and Peter are chasing each other with throw pillows while Dorcas and Lily share headphones on the other sofa. James beelines towards you, crawling across the open space.
“Boys? What boys have been worrying you, dove?” he says snidely, sneaking towards the space near your belly, looking up at your relaxed figure.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Mary giggles, and Remus huffs back laughter as he pats your head. James peers up at you as you smile knowingly.
“It’s a secret.” you smile, reaching out to poke his chin.
“You keep secrets from me now? From your most good-looking, bestest friend ever that plans the coolest awesomest birthday parties for you?”
Well, he did have a point. Ever since he accidentally flung you into the Black Lake third year in a prank meant for Snape, he’s almost always waited on you hand and foot. He had to, for your immediate response to laugh and flip him into the lake ‘qualified’ you as a Marauder (plus he thought you were really pretty—he swore he stopped crushing on Lily the next day.) And every birthday since has been bigger and better. Fourth year was the movie marathon out on the quidditch pitch; Fifth year was the picnic out next to Black Lake, and now you couldn’t wait to see what he has planned.
You look at the boy thoughtfully, smiling down at him and he swears it’s his favorite sight in the world.
“You don’t always have to know everything, Prongs…”
He chases after your hand with his mouth, trying to chomp one of your fingers. Idiot.
“Of course I do, or else no birthday party for you!” he jokes, and you giggle at the notion. He wouldn’t dare. He loves to celebrate you. Maybe this will be the year he asks you out… Is that cheesy? Or lame? James sighs, fussing with a string on his sweater, suddenly silent amongst the chaos of his lively friends. He’s got a lot of work to do.
The next week was filled with James’ hasty preparations and all of your friends were put up to the task of making his vision come together. Remus and Peter would get the booze, Mary and Alice would bake the sweet treats, Sirius and Lily were working on decorations, and Marlene and Dorcas were busy enchanting a record player to amplify through the party space James would get ready in the Room of Requirement. He’s been a little high-strung, overcalculating his endless to-do list to impress you.
All of them have been so…busy, and it was a bit lonely. You thought they might plan something with you, or for you, but you haven’t seen much of them in the past few days. Every bump in the corridor or spotting in the common room was a flurry of hushed whispers and giggles at jokes that flew over your head. Even dinner with them has been oddly silent, like watching a film but not being able to penetrate the scene that unfolds.
Peering down at the map one day after class, you see your friends’ names flitting around the map, all of them hanging out together, but not with you. That is, until a big hand nabs the parchment from your grasp.
“Hey!” “Sorry doll, need it for something important.” Sirius grins, pulling Lily along as they walk off briskly.
“Do you guys want to study later?” You call out after them, and they keep on walking, hands in their cloaks. Weird.
Many more of your requests have been denied. It’s a fickle thing, to suddenly feel unwanted in your group of friends. As a Marauder, you’ve earned your place there. But if Remus and Peter didn’t want to sneak out for a midnight snack, and Alice and Mary went shopping already, without you… Marlene and Dorcas were nowhere to be found.
That means you only had your favorite person to badger… James. You drag him into a broom closet after Muggle Studies one day, crossing your arms and looking up at him with frustration.
“Jeez, love, you’re stronger than you look!” He says sheepishly, hands landing on your waist.
“What are you all up to? Where have you been?” The pout on your face makes his knees weak, and it’d be so easy to just tell you….
No…He thinks, hardening his resolve as his thumb reaches out to smooth the crease in your forehead.
“Prongs,” you whine, poking his chest. The dim yellow lightbulb swings overhead, almost clobbering him in the skull.
“Why, you miss me that much?” He grins, prodding at your cheek. It’s cramped in here enough, and he hunches over your frame, unable to stop his smile at the look on your face.
“Yeah. I miss all of my friends. I sound like Moaning Myrtle whining after you lot! I wanna be involved in whatever you all are doing…” Delicate hands pull at the drawstrings of his hoodie and he feels like his chest tightens too.
“Hey, we haven’t forgotten you, so don’t worry, pretty girl. Your birthday’s coming up, right? You excited for that?” James’ thumb rubs at your cheek and he really wonders if, in any other instance, this could be platonic. Surely, you must like him too, right? Everything he does is to make you smile. He feels like he’s in a one-man show trying to embellish himself for your attention, and he’s waiting for the applause. Your hand grabs his as you lean into his touch.
“Got anything special planned?” You ask teasingly, and James can feel the warmth of your smile in his palm.
“For you? Of course.” He squeezes your cheek and you rip away from him, laughing. As you walk out of the closet, your shoulders bump as he wraps an arm around you.
“Don’t worry too much, dove. It’ll all work out,” he says, glad that you’re smiling again. “Wouldn’t let you have a terrible birthday. Never in a million years.”
“Exactly. What type of best friend would you be?” You smirk, walking off to your next class.
The thing is, he hopes you won’t be best friends by the end of it though. James huffs as he puts his hands in his pockets, walking in the opposite direction. This will be the year…. And it’s unsure if it’s a promise to himself or to you.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Marauder plan of action without some mayhem. James had taken it upon himself to organize his big list of to-dos, assign jobs, and make sure everything was set up for your birthday. The Room of Requirement was decked out in enchanted sparklers, a huge cake was adorned by a spotlight in the corner of the room, and all your friends were there to celebrate you. Mary’s putting the final touches on the gift pile before she looks to Sirius and Peter, who are horsing around the room running through the balloons.
“Something’s missing,” she remarks, and the others scamper around to figure out what it is. Lily double checks the sound system for your favorite songs, Marlene makes sure the drinks are flowing and at the table set up in the back. Dorcas whacks Peter and Sirius to stop popping the balloons, and Remus, the smart one, turns on his heel to stomp towards James, who is looking like he could implode from stress at any given moment.
“Prongs…” Remus muses, unsure if he should laugh, or wring his neck.
“What did I forget?” he says sheepishly, looking down at his watch. A balloon pops.
“Did you invite the birthday girl?” Oh shit.
“HAH—Moony, you’re not supposed to be the funny one here, of course I….” his eyes fall down to his scroll of to-dos, looking at the only thing unmarked on his list.
• Get her to come to the best birthday celebration ever.
“I forgot to tell her, didn’t I…”
Right. James might’ve glossed over that one. His nervous laughter shrivels at the sight of his friends’ faces of disbelief as they bombard him with questions and profanities and so, he bolts out of there, trying to find you on the map.
Surprisingly, James finds you in the kitchen, sitting infront of a lone cupcake and the house elves singing you the worst rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ there ever was to magical folk. What should be his plan of action? Acting nonchalant, or owning up to his flub? All of his thoughts go out the window when he sees your despondent sigh at the lit candle, thinking your friends have forgotten his absolute favorite day of the entire year.
“Pretty girl, why are you so sad?” he says, rushing to meet you at the table. You’re pulling at your sleeves and looking at the cupcake in disappointment.
“Did you all forget about me?” you ask, bottom lip trembling at the notion. James shakes his head rapidly, so much so that his glasses are skewed as he looks at you.
“How could we forget the best birthday girl?”
“I’m the only birthday girl, and I haven’t seen any of you today. You didn’t even eat dinner with me,” you pout. Your huff of a sigh blows out the sad little candle, and it almost makes you want to crumple up in embarrassment. Your finger reaches out to sample some of the icing, and you bring it to your mouth, James following the movement with his eyes.
“I’m sorry dove. I might’ve messed up for this one,” he mutters, hating to see you upset.
“If you forgot to plan anything, it’s okay…. You’re not obligated to.” Your head falls to the slope of your shoulder, looking bashful at the idea of being celebrated. But James hasn’t gone all this way to see you unhappy.
“That’s the funny thing about it, erm…. I need you to come with me.” He pulls at your arm, but you won’t budge. How mortifying to conceptualize how you feel in this moment, feeling smaller than ever. A birthday is just a day, after all. Maybe they can make it up to you tomorrow.
“I dunno Prongs, I think I should just go to bed and wake up with a better attitude, yeah? It’s really oka–HEY!” James lifts you out of your chair and throws you over his shoulder, securing you to him before he bolts out of the kitchens. Your vision is blurred and all you can see is the massive muscles rippling down his back as he runs. His bum is quite nice too.
“James Potter, what in Merlin’s name do you think you’re doing? Put me down this instant or I’ll hex you into next week!” You screech, before he puts a silencing charm on you to not alert Filch of your antics. You reach out to hit his buttock as he exclaims, “Ow! Cheeky…. I promise you’ll like this, dove. You really thought we’d forget your birthday?”
There comes a point when he paces back and forth in front of the same stretch of wall and you think he’s insane, talking to himself and turning in circles. After the third lap, he sets you down, your arms crossed and quite stern at the trip he’s taken you on. James smooths your hair down before he looks you in the eyes, standing a bit closer than a friend would, but Godric is he excited to show you his work.
“Ahem. Do you really think I’d forget your big day, pretty girl? It’s my favorite day of the year!” He smiles and you shake your head with a smile. He nudges the door open to reveal all your friends, yelling “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”
Still inaudible, your mouth is gaping wide in shock, silent laughter escaping your mouth. Marlene and Dorcas carry the cake over to you before they sing in all sorts of tunes, none of them on key and possibly worse than the house elves. The light of the candles caresses the warmth in your cheeks as you look at your friends in wonder. You mumble something like a ‘thank you’ but they can’t comprehend it until Remus undoes the charm, whacking James across the head.
Later, James sneaks behind you, throwing an arm around your waist, whispering ‘Happy birthday’ for the millionth time, but he’ll never get tired of telling you how much he cares.
“Are you happy, birthday girl?” he smiles, and you get on your tiptoes to give him a kiss that lands on the corner of his mouth. The applause is back, thundering in his ears before he realizes it’s the sound of his heart when you’re near.
Yeah, this will be the year everything changes. His plans are racking up into a list in his brain as you gaze at him all starry-eyed and smiley. Your friends are all looking at you knowingly, and he can’t wait to get to work, for there is just so much to do.

Jealousy Jealousy
Just a little short thing I wrote because I wanted jealous James. It's really just a bunch of dialogue but enjoy!
Words: 955
Barty Crouch Junior was a problem.
A big problem.
The biggest problem James had ever had.
He kind of wanted to kill the guy.
James had never felt so violent as he did watching Barty lean in and whisper into Regulus’ ear.
He wanted to rip out Barty’s throat when Regulus laughed at whatever Barty whispered into his ear.
James knew he had no right to feel that way. He had no reason to want Regulus to not go near Barty. They were friends and James didn’t have any claim to Regulus. It wasn’t like Regulus was his boyfriend. And if he was James’ boyfriend, James wouldn’t have the right to tell him how to act with his friends.
He was out of his seat in seconds when Barty's hand settled on Regulus’ waist, like it belonged there or something. James wanted to cut his fucking hand off. Maybe then he would quit touching Regulus. Maybe then he would leave Regulus the fuck alone.
“Something wrong, pretty boy?” Barty smirked when James reached them.
What was he gonna do? Tell Barty to stop talking to his friend? Really why did he even walk over? What could he do other than observe violently.
“I need to talk to Regulus,” James said shortly, not giving Barty any attention.
Barty smirked. Of course he did. When was he not smirking at James? Like he knew something that James didn’t. It pissed him off.
“We’re busy,” Barty smiled at James and waved him off like some sort of child.
James wanted Barty to never talk again. Maybe he just wanted to rip out the boys vocal chords so he couldn’t whisper things in Regulus’ ear. Speaking of, that is what Barty was doing now, once more.
“Do you have a problem, Potter?” Evan chimed in as he watched James silently seethe over Barty and Regulus’ closeness.
Evan Rosier was also a problem. He was always talking to Regulus. He was always with Regulus. Why did everyone always have to be with Regulus? Why couldn’t they just leave him alone.
“No, of course not,” James muttered and stormed off to go find Sirius. Sirius needed to get Regulus away from those fucking Slytherins or James was going to rip their heads off. He couldn’t risk getting expelled.
Sirius was found lounging in Remus’ lap, talking to Marlene about something that James didn’t care about. Right now he needed his best friends.
“You okay, Prongs? You look pissed,” Remus asked, then looked behind James and laughed. “Oh, I see. Sirius, you're needed for Regulus retrieval.”
“Oh my god, just tell him you're jealous and quit bringing me into this shit!” Sirius groaned.
James may have done this more than once. But Regulus’ friends were just so handsy. Sirius was always able to get Regulus away, so James just went to him.
“Pads, please!” James whined.
“No, figure it out. Moony time,” Sirius denied as he leaned forward to place kisses on Remus’ neck.
James grumbled but walked away and sat back in his old spot. Silently seething as he watched Regulus lean into Evan, while Barty talked about something.
He lasted longer than he thought he would.
Maybe five minutes. (thirty seconds)
But then Barty Crouch Junior leaned in and kissed Regulus’ cheek and James lost it.
James stormed over, definitely shoving people as he did so. He ripped Barty away and grabbed Regulus’ arm.
“Sirius needs you,” James spoke sharply, glaring at Barty.
“Does he? I don’t see him around,” Regulus smirked up at James, his eyes twinkling with something akin to mischief.
“He does, come on,” James tugged Regulus’ arm a little, trying to get the younger boy to stand.
“I’ll wait for him to come get me. You can go tell him that. I’ll just hang out here with my friends,” Regulus retorted, shoving James’ hand off him.
“No! You can’t stay with them,” James replied.
“Why's that?” Regulus asked.
James froze. He looked at Regulus, really looked at him and saw it. Regulus was going this on purpose. He was definitely doing this on purpose. There was no way he was just being this antagonizing and mischievous for no reason. How many times had he made James jealous on purpose.
James spun to Barty and saw that he was also smirking at James. Evan too. So they all knew what they were doing. They just didn’t care.
“You were doing it on purpose?” James asked.
“Doing what on purpose, Jaime?” Regulus tilted his head in mock confusion.
“I wanted to cut your buddies hand off. What would you have done if I had done it? Would you have felt guilty? Would you feel remorse?” James questioned, leaning close enough that his breath could probably be felt on Regulus’ cheek.
“I’d probably feel turned on, actually,” Regulus challenged
“Oh yeah?” James taunted.
“What can I say? You’re hot when you’re jealous. So are you going to act now or keep seething in your little chair? Because I’ve been waiting for you to do something. I'm tired of waiting for Jamie. I have other options, Barty for example," Regulus gestured vaguely in Barty’s direction.
“Hell yeah!” Barty agreed moving towards Regulus.
“No.” James snarled, turning to him furiously.
“I told you it was hot,” Regulus chimes. James is sure if he was talking to him or Barty but he doesn’t care.
“Come on, let me show you how hot jealousy can be,” James pulled Regulus a little gesturing toward his dorm room with his head.
“Jealousy sex! Jealousy sex! Jealousy sex!” Barty cheered in the background.
“Shut up Barty,” Evan groaned.
James may hate Barty Crouch Junior, but that was some of the best sex he had had.

As a certified women liker I had to do my interpretation of fem alastor.
While I love all interpretations of genderbent Alastor, I usually like to do some historically inspired designs when a character is from a certain era and I also like to keep the body type fairly close to the canon male version. In my mind fem Alastor from the 20s and 30s would definitely have short hair and wear suits, but her overall appareance would be more ladylike and her hair would be more well done, because she would want to be charming and approachable to keep up appareances. Hair was always a big thing for women of color and when I looked up different celebrities of the time I found that there were black celebrities known for their iconic hair styles! Alastor as a mixed race woman from the 20s or 30s would’ve definitely kept up with the trends.
I have some visual references, but I’m just gonna throw some names on here: Marlene Dietrich, Mozelle Brittone, Josephine Baker, Adelaide Hall

Genius
Summary:
After Lily breaks her iPhone, she finds herself at the Genius Bar on Valentines Day, and an old flame is there to help her in all things technology and romance.
read on A03
Marlene McKitten: babes you're missing out on blackberry margs!!
Lily Evans: I’m sorry! It was the only time I could schedule a time for my phone to get fixed!
Marlene McKitten: you just hate me, its okay, you can say it
Lily Evans: you’re a drama queen, Marlene McKinnon
Marlene McKitten: you love me anyways…find me a hot date at the apple store so I can get discounts!!
Lily Evans: if I find a hot guy he’s mine for the night
Marlene McKitten: further proof that you hate me
Lily Evans: I’m here. … Pray this doesn’t take five hours and I can come meet you for drinks.
Marlene McKitten: how hard will it be to replace a screen? … I bet I could do it myself with youtube and a little superglue
Lily did not reply back to her friend, she didn’t have the heart to tell Marlene that superglue and youtube weren’t the answer for everything. Even if superglue had proven effective at keeping Lily’s favorite mug together after it broke in the dishwasher.
Lily just couldn’t believe she was spending her free time at the Apple Store because she'd somehow cracked her phone screen. In all her years of owning a phone, of course it would be the most expensive phone she’d ever had that broke. Even her flimsy flip phone had been more sturdy than her iphone.
“Hi, are you here for an appointment?” A scrawny kid about her age asked, holding the iPad too close to his face as he approached her near the front doors.
Lily nodded quickly. “Yeah, Lily Evans, for a screen repair.”
“Gotcha.” The kid's nametag read ‘Peter,’ and he barely looked up at her as he typed away on his screen. “I checked you in; just go wait at the Genius Bar.”
“Thanks.”
Lily maneuvered around the cramped store, sighing all the while as she made her way to the Genius Bar. It was rather depressing to be alone on Valentine's Day, but it was almost extra disappointing that she’d had to skip lunch with her girlfriends to come here. Lily couldn’t believe she was missing out on the tacos at Casa Grande, a tradition that went all the way back to Uni. She nervously picked at the crack on her screen, most annoyed that she’d somehow forgotten to add the screen protector when she got her new case two months ago. Another sigh escaped her lips before she finally took a look at her surroundings.
There were three boys at the counter, each of them so different from the other. The first, on Lily’s left, was a bloke with a leather jacket, emitting a touch of emo metal head from his persona. The one on the right definitely looked like he belonged at the Genius Bar in the Apple Store, thanks to his perfectly pressed sweater vest and nicely combed hair. The man leaning against the table opposite Lily, typing into his iPad, was a sporty-looking bloke wearing slacks with a rumpled button-down shirt.
She thought to herself, Actually, no, that sporty bloke looks really familiar… Oh.
It hit her like a freight train.
She couldn’t remember his name for the life of her, but he’d somehow gotten hotter in the year since they graduated from college. It’d been almost that much time since they’d danced at a party, stumbled up the stairs to his bedroom, and he’d fucked her on his bed. Not even a quick go. No, she had woken up in his bed to find his arms around her, her clothes all over the room, and her phone dead from going all night without a charger.
He’d been such a gentleman when he woke up. He had practically stumbled over his words when he realized she was there, in his bed, naked with him. They had both been drunk, so even he admitted it had probably been a bad idea. They’d parted ways an hour later, Lily promising that she’d be okay to walk back to her dorm, and he had let her go so she assumed he really hadn’t wanted anything more than a once go in the sheets.
More than once, she'd thought about this bloke, wondering what happened to him.
His black hair was in a mess of waves around his head, and he didn't look up from his iPad as she stared in shock. She didn’t know what she’d say to him if they did make eye contact. The last thing she’d said to him was ‘thanks for the sex’ which somehow grew more and more embarrassing the longer she sat here and recalled it. She kept picturing his naked body in that bed in the morning. What would she say if he looked up right now and she was there remembering the contours of his body?
Hi, I almost didn’t recognize you with your clothes on.
She’d save that gem for later.
Probably never.
Lily felt disappointed as he walked away without looking up, disappearing through a door that likely led to the back. Her heart slowed in her chest, just slightly, but she felt like her throat was drier than the desert. She cleared it twice, earning a look from the guy in the sweater-vest, but he just went back to his task at hand.
Since the other two men at the Genius Bar were preoccupied, she took that to mean she was going to have to wait for help. She checked her Tumblr, finding nothing of consequence, just some idiots in her ask box telling her to eat dirt and choke on it. A usual occurrence on her blog thanks to internet trolls with nothing better to do than hate strong women like Taylor Swift and Captain Marvel. Lily was fully convinced people just liked to find something to complain about. She tried really hard not to complain or take anything a bunch of internet ghosts said to heart. She scrolled through her favorite Taylor Swift blog and saw there had been a new song mashup released. She wished she had brought her headphones so she could at least listen to the music while she waited.
London Boy crossed with This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things would be absolutely disastrous and she was here for it. She reblogged it for later, then exited out of the app, settling for people watching instead.
Around her, couples were looking over new computers, AirPods, and various other electronics. All the girls wore really pretty dresses, and all the partners kept one firm arm around each other's waists. Lily’s dress was pretty too, and she played with the edges of the corset cut as she stared at the door through which the fit bloke had disappeared.
Had he spotted her and run? Did he remember her? Did he forget her? She wasn’t sure what would hurt her more, if he walked away because he saw her and remembered her, or if he walked away because he forgot about her.
Lily wasn’t a bragger, but she knew for a fact he had fun with her a year ago. She remembered enough of that night to know that he’d been really, really enjoying it. Not many men would get between her legs for her, and very few actually made her scream. No, he’d been one of two, and he’d been the best of all.
Lily crossed her legs, trying to ignore the heat gathering on her face (and in other places) as she recounted that night. Sadly, her body wasn’t listening to her imploring thoughts. She felt like a damn animal in heat, the way her entire body was strung up, waiting for his reappearance.
Beside her, the emo guy helping the old Lady change her voicemail sent her a sidelong glance randomly, and Lily felt a blush raise on her cheeks when his eyes grazed up and down her body as if he were checking her out. She didn’t drop his gaze, and instead offered him a smile. His gray eyes snapped back to the old lady and spoke to her in a smooth tone that didn’t seem the least bit flustered.
She looked down at her candy-colored nails, the pink already chipping from scrubbing her hands too much at work. The phone on the table in front of her buzzed with a text from her girls' chat. Marlene sent a photo of a plate of tacos in the shape of a heart. Lily smiled and opened her phone, hearting the photo. As she did so, the grandmother finished her session and walked away, leaving the emo kid free. Lily looked up from her phone quickly, expecting him to turn to her, but instead, he had his back turned to her as he talked into his headset.
“No, I won’t stall for you—Prongs! Don’t argue with me.” He sounded stressed, as if whoever was on the other end was ruining his life. “Then get out here, you idiot.”
Whoever was on the other end was clearly addressing the whole store through that headset, as Lily witnessed the sweater vest-wearing, scrawny boy, and the long-haired brunette nearby all turning to send looks in Emo’s direction with raised brows. Lily couldn’t help but feel as if they were all looking at her too, despite her not being privy to the conversation happening.
“Hi,” someone touched Lily’s shoulder from behind, making her turn in surprise.
A baby-faced woman with bubblegum-pink hair smiled kindly. “Have you been checked in?”
“Oh,” Lily blinked owlishly, feeling stupid for thinking everyone was looking at her. “Uhm, yes, Lily Evans? Screen repair?”
“Our screen repair guy is stuck on the phone with a customer in the back,” she said cheerily, “but he should be out soon.”
“Oh, there’s a guy?” Lily said in surprise. “I thought screen replacements were kinda a universal genius bar thing.”
“Oh, we can all do it,” The girl’s name tag told Lily her name was Tonks, “but someone called dibs already.”
“Dibs?” Lily didn’t miss that Emo kid was cackling as he typed something into his iPad.
“Did I say dibs?” Tonks put a finger on her lips. “I meant he was assigned to you by the boss.”
“Who’s the boss?”
“He is.”
Suddenly, the door behind them slammed open, and a body stumbled out quite dramatically. Lily perked up at the sight of the familiar form. Sporty boy was back! His black hair was even more wild around his head, as if he’d been running his fingers through it non-stop since he’d disappeared. His glasses were skewed too, but it only made him so much more attractive, to see how flustered he was.
Tonks peered around Lily’s shoulder, her pink hair falling into her eyes. “Smooth entrance, Potter.”
“Thanks for holding down the fort, Nymphadora,” Potter said. “I can take her from here.”
Lily’s eyes traced his tall form, realizing it had been a long time since she’d been able to admire it. When her gaze returned to his face, her eyes met brown orbs that looked delighted to know she’d been openly checking him out. Lily’s mouth opened, but no sound came out. She brushed nervously at her red curls, biting her lip as James waltzed over to her at the bar, leaning against it so he was only a foot or so away from her.
“Hi,” his voice was smooth, like an ASMR streamer. “I’m James Potter.”
“Hi,” she almost choked on her own spit. “Hi.”
James’ fingers trailed along the edge of the bar, casual yet deliberate, as he said, “I heard you rang for a genius?”
Lily’s mouth quivered when she heard Tonks sigh loudly. The emo guy slammed his palm against his head, as if James had embarrassed them all. Sweater vest physically gagged. James just kept smiling at her though, as if he could tell she was attracted to him regardless of his cheesy pickup lines. And it was true, she was.
“I heard you are the only one in this store who can help me,” Lily flirted, watching his eyes light up at the challenge. “I had no idea you were so important.”
“Me either, to be honest.” He placed his chin on his hand, supported by his elbow against the bar. “What was your name again?”
Lily tucked her hair behind her ear. “Lily Evans? We met about a year ago at a party.”
His eyes seemed to sparkle as he replied smoothly, “Oh, I remember how we met, it was just your name that escaped me last year.”
The blush was uncontrollable now as she reached out a hand for him to shake. “It’s nice to see you again.”
“You have no idea how nice it is to see you again.” James’ grin grew wider. “And on Valentine's Day, no less.”
"I know how to make an entrance." She managed weakly.
James' eyes were molten gold mixed with green flecks, "you sure do, especially in that dress."
“Get a room,” the guy in the sweater vest muttered.
“How about yours, Remus?” James shot back, a bite in his tone.
Remus pretended to be interested in his customer's macbook in response. When Lily looked back at James, she felt a punch to the gut as she saw nothing but pure lust in his eyes. She could practically pinpoint where his mind had dropped, thanks to his eyes staring at her breasts, which were practically popping out of the corset cut top of her dress.
“Like what you see?” She asked boldly.
"Yes." He cleared his throat, and her eyes dropped to his mouth when he licked his lip and then curled the edges up to smile confidently.
Hazel eyes.
His eyes were hazel, and she’d forgotten that, so now all her memories were being replayed with coy hazel eyes that undressed her without even trying. He wasn't even trying to hide it, especially not right now.
“Well, what can I help you with today?” James asked, breaking her concentration on his eyes.
Dinner. She thought desperately. A quick go in the back of the storage room. Instead she offered, “I think I cracked my phone screen.”
James looked down at the phone in question. Lily picked it up, popping off the blue protective case in one fluid motion, before handing it to him. She fiddled with the case as he turned the phone over in his hands once.
“And you’re sure it’s not just the screen protector?”
Lily shook her head no, “I tried to pull it off, twice, but couldn't get it, so I’m pretty sure I forgot to put the protection screen thing on when I got my new case.”
“Oh Lily,” James clucked his tongue, “always use protection.”
Oh, that was the wrong thing to say.
Her brain immediately fluttered into the pit of her stomach with ideas of all the things they could do with protection. God, she hadn’t been so turned on since the last time he’d gotten her into bed with him…only this time it was daylight and she hadn’t had a single thing to drink.
Pure thoughts, Lily Evans. She thought. He’s just a guy. A hot, cool, incredibly charming guy. Fuck it, I’m screwed.
James casually picked at her phone screen, seemingly ignoring the desire flickering in her eyes as he remarked, “The glass shouldn’t stick up like that; I think it’s just a screen protector.”
“I really don’t think–”
Watching in mortification, Lily winced as he used his thumbnail to pry at the glass. Suddenly, a sound of unsticking reached her ears as he removed a screen case from her phone's actual glass. Redness flooded her face for an entirely different reason. She’d been a total, utter, helpless idiot for bringing her phone here.
It hadn’t been broken at all.
“Oh my god,” she whispered, “Oh, no, no, no, no!! I am such an idiot.”
“No!” He quickly reassured her, “You’re not an idiot!”
Lily felt herself spiraling with embarrassment, realizing she just hadn’t pulled hard enough to separate the sticky tape from the glass. “I swear—I tried so hard—I thought it was the screen.”
His thumb brushed the side of her wrist in comfort, but instead of soothing her, it sent a wave of shame coursing through her stomach. “It’s an honest mistake; it was securely fastened.”
“Yeah,” she squeaked, noticing he had leaned closer over the counter, now mere inches from her face.
“Seriously,” he seemed so amused, and that only humiliated her further, “it’s fine, I won't even charge you.”
She didn’t know if she’d ever felt more stupid, and in front of the hottest guy she knew, too. “I’m really sorry for wasting your time.” He searched her face as if seeking something within it. Lily withdrew her hand from his shyly and then grabbed her phone. “I’ll just go, thank you, um, bye.”
Trying to escape the awkward situation, she hurried out, acutely aware of the stares from those around them who had witnessed the embarrassing exchange. She slipped her unprotected phone under the strap of her dress and brushed her hair behind her ears as she rushed to her car in the parking lot.
“Dumb, stupid, idiot.” she muttered over and over to herself, repeating the whole scene in her head. “How did you graduate college with a science degree, but you can’t even pull a fucking phone condom off.”
She reached her car in record time, the lingering sense of humiliation mingling with a cocktail of other emotions churning in her gut. Her plan now was simple: she would rendezvous with her friends at the taco place and immerse herself in a flight of margaritas. Maybe if she got intoxicated enough, she could erase this entire fiasco from her memory. As she finished flinging her bag onto the console of the passenger seat, she heard footsteps approaching from behind.
Turning abruptly, she was startled to find James from the Genius Bar standing there, a friendly smile gracing his features. “Hey, Lily.”
“Hi,” she managed, her voice high-pitched from her embarrassment.
HIs eyes dropped to the phone, precariously held between her pale skin and tiny spaghetti thick dress strap. “Why do girls stuff everything right there?”
Lily looked down at her phone and then back up to him, feigning tucking her hands into the folds of her dress skirt, “most girls clothes don’t have pockets–so we improvise.”
“Interesting.” He then asked promptly, “Did you know that I worked here?”
“No,” she swore, as the wind made her skirts gather around her legs, “I swear, I had no idea.”
A light flickered in his eyes, “that’s a shame.”
“Why a shame?”
“I was hoping you made up that entire thing about the glass cracking just to talk to me.” He grinned. “But you genuinely thought it was broken, didn’t you?”
“You were hoping I was lying?” Lily blinked owlishly at him, “really?”
He lifted a lunchbox in his hand, smiling awkwardly. “I only have an hour for lunch; why don’t we catch up, and we can talk about what I was hoping for.”
“What?” Lily asked, not comprehending anything because her hormones were cheering excitedly.
“Sorry,” he tucked the lunchbox behind his back again, “did you not want to eat with me? I think I may have gotten mixed signals from you back in the store…”
“Eat with you?” she repeated. “ With you?”
“I know it’s been a while,” he was rambling, “I know we aren’t even like–friends–but you showed up and I–I nearly had a heart attack seeing you again. A heart attack in the good way–not a bad way. You are definitely good. All good. So good.”
Lily still had one hand on her car door, her chest rising and falling as she struggled to find the words. “I–I’m an idiot who can’t tell the difference between a screen cover and a phone screen…and you want to have lunch with me?”
James shrugged, “despite working at the genius bar–” Lily offered him a snort of amusement, “--I prefer idiots, don’t you?”
“You're not an idiot,” Lily said, motioning to all of him, “you’re–you’re that .”
“Eloquent,” his smile was so wide, his eyes crinkled at the edges. “But I’m 100% just as much an idiot as you.”
“How so?”
“I was an idiot for ever letting you go without a number to text you at.”
She felt her stomach erupt with pleasant butterflies. “What?”
James looked down at her body, then back up at her eyes with a coy wink. “Truthfully, I've been wondering where you disappeared to for a year now and would really like to catch up. I’d also really love your number, for your working phone, just in case you ever need a genius to fix it again. Is that okay?”
Lily felt like she might be dreaming. She pinched her arm. It hurt. Thank god. “This isn’t a joke, right?”
“No,” James walked forward, almost flush with her person now. “I do love a good joke, though.”
“Really?” He was so close, she could count the tiny freckles dotting his tan nose.
James' hand brushed her arm, sending shivers racing up it. “What’s the best book to read while eating breakfast?”
Lily felt a smile replacing her confused expression as she leaned up on her tiptoes, allowing his free hand to cup her chin. “What book?”
“Much Ado About Muffin.”
"You're right, you are an idiot." She rolled her eyes, but her tone was flirtatious, "a really, really cute idiot."
"They'll hire just about anyone to work the Genius Bar these days."
Lily didn’t wait anymore; she grabbed a fistful of his shirt and pulled him down, letting her lips muffle his laughter.
She could still feel his smile through the kiss though, even when he opened his mouth to taste her with an eager fever she had forgotten about. She kissed him back harder, especially when she heard his lunch bag fall to the ground near their feet, and both his hands grabbed hold of her long hair to keep her firmly attached. He tasted like mint gum, like he'd just been chewing it before coming to find her. Like he'd planned for this exact scenario to happen.
She almost swooned at the thought.
Finally, what felt like only a second later, he broke off the kiss. When her eyes opened, she saw nothing but him, and that only made her smile grow wider. His hands remained in her hair, but he tugged them forward to cup her cheeks, bringing the red strands with him.
“So,” he said somewhat breathlessly, “lunch date?”
"What'd you have in mind?"
"Calling out of work, taking you home, and ordering pizza for a long movie we won't watch."
Lily stepped forward, about to kiss him again for suggesting it, but then she felt her chunky heel step on something, and a resounding crack filled the air. Lily thought it might be the lunch bag he’d dropped, and for just a second she hoped, but whatever was under her foot was smaller. She looked down, face white, and all she saw were broken bits of glass under her heel. Her heart plummeted from its high as she stared down at her broken phone.
“I broke my phone,” she realized, lifting her foot to show a screen in tiny bits and pieces. “Oh my god, I really broke it this time.”
James untangled himself from her and leaned down, picking it up carefully, and they watched as it disintegrated into multiple pieces in his hand. His eyes lifted from the phone to her. She stared back at him. Lily fell against her car, pressing her hands into her hair as she processed her disbelief. James' mouth was partially open, like she'd just stunned him to silence.
“I can’t believe this!” she half laugh, half cried, while wiping her eyes. "I can't fucking believe this!"
Then, James doubled over with laughter, weeping from the irony of it all. Lily crossed one leg over the other as she laughed too, her head rolling back against her car. Passerby in the parking lot shared attempts like they were lunatics for laughing so hard. It only made them laugh harder.
"What am I going to do?" Lily cried, her side in stitches. "Oh god, I haven't even paid that phone off yet!"
"I can't believe you broke it!" James wiped the tears from his eyes, "oh my god, your luck!"
"Oh fuck," Lily pressed a hand to her forehead, "I don't know why I'm laughing, this is actually so bad, I need my phone for work."
James walked forward to plant a firm kiss on her mouth before reminding her, “Don’t worry, you know a genius who can fix it.”

can i request reader who has trouble sleeping accidentally falling asleep on james or sirius in front of everyone? <3
yes u can tysm!!! I went with sirius!! ♡ fem!reader
You've had trouble sleeping since forever, but this seems to be new information for Sirius.
"Why'd you look so sad?" he asks softly.
You squint up at him, puzzled. He's pulled his hair back into a low ponytail that suits him more than you can describe – something about the unfettered view of his lovely cheekbones, maybe. He's a pair of small golden hoops in his lobes that glow against his tanned skin. They catch your eyes, the shine soft and distractingly pretty.
"Hey, are you with me?" he asks.
His dark eyes crease even deeper with concern.
"No, I'm okay. Sorry, I swear I'm not looking through you. Just tired."
"Yeah? Didn't sleep well?"
A fallen hair curls at the neck of his jacket. You pluck it up and roll it off of your thumb. Your eyes burn when you look at the ground, the uni hall floors always blindingly clean. "Yeah."
He tilts his head. You have the prickly feeling of being assessed then and have to resist the urge to squirm on the spot.
"You didn't wanna take the day off?" he asks. You might make a joke about his trying to get you to go home; a 'tell me how you really feel' begs to be said, but you won't mess around, not when he looks so sweetly concerned.
"I'm okay."
Sirius is a good friend. Unexpected in that you'd never imagined he'd speak to you, or that the friendship might last so long, and decidedly good. He pulls a familiar canvas rucksack off of his shoulder and digs around in the back. He offers you a little bottle of caffeine chewables and a cereal bar, the sticky, tough kind with more sugar than nutrition. You accept the cereal but ignore the pills.
"Caffeine puts me in a cycle," you tell him.
"Do you have a drink?" he asks.
You've hardly said not yet when he passes you his metal flask.
"Meet me after lecture and we'll go up to the Slug for dinner?" he asks, knowing you'll say yes.
You nod predictably. "Who's coming?"
"Everyone. Maybe."
You meet him after your lecture and head up to the Slug, a big, rundown pub with high ceilings and paisley carpets rumoured to have once been burgundy. He guides you with an amicable hand pressed lightly to the top of your shoulder, down a handful of steps into the 'pit', a mess of booths and lacquered wooden chairs. The smell of cider is sickly sweet, masked only by the stuffiness of decade old smoke.
Your friends sit in the nook.
"Hi," you say, barely stopping to glance at Remus as you climb over a chair to sit beside him.
Sirius follows, to Marlene's abject delight. She quickly has him helping her with coursework. A mess of loose leaf grid paper covers her entire table. The girls sitting with her – Lily, Dorcas, and Mary – have started to rest their drinks on her precious workings, to her chagrin.
"Respect the graphs!" she says.
You huff and deflate in your chair.
"You've Marl's coursework stuck to your foot," Remus says, pushing his bowl of chips toward you.
You steal one gratefully and lift your foot. "Oh."
Sirius nabs it for you. He takes a second to look you over, gaze clearly snagging on your puffy eyes before it recentres.
"Don't mind if I have this, do you?" he asks.
You moan. You hope it says what you want it to. Yes, you can, but it is a big inconvenience to me and you definitely owe me.
Sirius wrinkles his nose at you with a laugh and turns back to Marlene.
Remus has the brilliant talent of knowing when someone needs peace and quiet. He leaves you to your own devices and turns back to his book. You watch him turn the pages for a while, your eyes growing heavier and heavier, as does your body. You feel your limbs as if they're piped with lead.
Sirius finally turns to you again. You're excited for his attention and try to liven up unsuccessfully, face turned into the rough material of the booths seat. He frowns at your and slides his arm between your cheek and the seat, hand clapping your back amicably.
"You alright?" he asks.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Did you..." You yawn. "What are you gonna have?"
"I was thinking about fish and chips, honestly. What do you want? I'll get yours at the same time."
"Um, maybe," — his eyes are sweet and soft and so, so dark, staring down at you with endless patience — "maybe I'll have fish and chips as well."
"Copycat." He grins.
"Sirius, what the fuck is this?" Marlene demands, sounding petrified.
He turns from you quick. His arm around your shoulder pulls you with him, your face falling into the space just below his collar. Your nose presses to his jacket and you catch his scent there, a warm musk. Vanilla for certain, a sweetness hiding just underneath. Your hands fall useless in your lap as you let yourself sink into him, stealing all his warmth and comfort.
His hand moves of its own accord up and down your back. It's a nice feeling. It's a really nice feeling. Your eyes slip closed, and you tell yourself you'll open them when he turns to speak with you again.
Sirius finishes his explanation though whether he truly grasps the material is beyond him. He pats your shoulder, the start of an apology on his lips when he notices your stillness.
Your face tucked and slipping down the line of his chest, you've fallen asleep. He pulls the zipper of his jacket away from your cheek as carefully as he can and feels something near his heart surge. Relief, he thinks, to see you sleeping when you'd looked heartbreakingly exhausted before. And fondness, because you're pretty when you're snoozing, lips a little smushed together in a pout and face smooth of any wrinkles.
Sirius meets eyes with Remus and smiles sheepishly at the smugness on his friends face.
"Poor girl," he says under his breath, stroking down your arm with the side of his hand.
He settles in, content to be a human pillow.

Today had been absolutely treacherous.
First you hadn't been able to find your transfiguration homework resulting in professor mcgonagall giving you a detention at the end of the day. You loved professor mcgonagall you always got on well but you understood that she couldn't give special treatment, even to her favourite students.
Then you spilt ink over your potions assignment and to top it all off your uniform had been suffocating you all day.
It was days like this that you were thankful at least one of your partners were with you in each class.
However each of them had been increasingly distracted today.
James had been thinking about quidditch a lot lately since there was a match on Sunday against slytherin, everybody wanted to win but James always took it to a new level.
Remus's head had been trapped in his book practically all week, there was an assignment due for history of magic and to everyone's surprise remus was struggling slightly to make sense of the text as it contradicted itself many times. Personally you didn't really care about your results in history of magic you just saw it as a filler class occasionally copying down notes but mostly constructing origami birds.
Sirius had been the most present one today however he had spent his lessons thinking over new ways to taunt his brother and Snape not listening to you when you discouraged it.
You had hoped to spend a good amount of time with them after your classes but then you realised.
James had quidditch practice, sirius was going along to watch him and remus had a meeting with professor dumbledoor.
Brilliant.

Stepping through the entryway for the gryffindor common room you saw lily and marlene sitting on the crushed velvet sofa. As soon as you made your way over to them you dropped your bag onto the floor beside you and flopped down onto the cushions Making lily chuckle.
"Hard day huh?" She said with a knowing smile "torture" you agreed resting your head on her shoulder feeling her hand gently stroke your hair. "Aww hon, well it's over now until next week" "how was detention?" Marlene smirked eyeing you cheekily "I don't understand the point of it, all I did was sit there drawing" you chuckled kicking your feet up.
A good half an hour passed on the sofa with your best friends before you made your way up to the boys dorm room, you barley ever slept in your own dorm anymore. As soon as you reached the 6th step you felt a hazy feeling come over your mind.
Why did it always come at the worst times?
Holding onto the hand rail you made quick work of your journey. When you reached the large oak door you swung it open and locked it with a simple spell, the boys would know that it was only you.
Once you reached remus's bed you felt all attempts at staying in your big headspace leave you, the only thing was you felt young.
Really young.
Considering that you hadn't been able to regress in such a long time it wasn't really surprising however it felt scary, you never regressed this young on your own and you didn't know what to do.
Suddenly being made aware of your itchy uniform you tried desperately to remove it but there were too many zips and the buttons were to small so it was no use.
Realising that you couldn't do anything for yourself you excepted your fate and layed yourself down on the mattress hugging the pillow close to you wetting it with your tears.
"They'll be back soon" you thought to yourself.
───── ⋆⋅◇⋅⋆ ─────
"Your such a tosser" james expressed to sirius as they reached their dorm room. Trying the doorknob they realised that it was locked causing them to frown "alohomora" remus said hearing a click.
Walking through the doorway they saw you curled up on remus’s bed sobbing into his pillow, immediately they rushed over to you with sirius gently removing the pillow and laying down beside you "what's wrong sweetheart?" James asked sitting on your other side.
Trying to find the words you spoke softly "small" you whimpered cuddling into Sirius's arm feeling his hand gently stroke your hair. "Oh angel" you heard remus sigh guilt lacing his tone almost instantly you heard the two of them walk around the room.
After collecting some clothes for you remus walked over towards the bed gently turning you into your back causing you to protest "I know baby I know it's okay" he said unbuttoning your shirt, zipping down your skirt and bringing down your stockings. Feeling a soft jumper being pulled over your head you manoeuvred your way through it "there she is" sirius gasped when your head popped through the hole making you giggle.
Watching James from across the room you saw him pull down a lime green box and walk it over towards you. Pulling the lid off he took out a soft grey dummy and a soft lion toy, you had never seen these ones before.
Passing the dummy to sirius you felt him gently ease it into your mouth feeling remus squish in beside you and sirius he made his way towards his bed.
Hearing a loud noise you panicked slightly and shot up in the bed "Hey, hey sweetheart it's okay it's just daddy being an twat" "oi I'm just moving the bed so we can all fit, your welcome" james said sarcastically "Daddy's not a twat" you mumbled sleepily from behind your dummy "thank you baby" "you could have used your wand" remus stated a moment of silence following "shut up."
Feeling the boys spread out on the joined mattresses you rolled yourself over giggling slightly "aww our giggly little girl" sirius smiled placing a kiss to the back of your head. "Pass her over here" james said piping up from beside remus "come here honey" the lycanthrophe beside you mumbled rolling you over his stomach and into james arms "there she is" he sighed kissing your head gently.
Looking at you each of them realised that you were about to fall into dreamland, with james stroking your hair and remus patting your lower back soothingly you allowed yourself to sleep with Sirius's comforting words.
"Your okay now little one, we're here and we'll be here when you wake up."

The library is silent and tranquil, with only the sound of pages turning and pens clattering on notebooks permeating the space. The air is still and calm, providing a serene and conducive atmosphere for studying and focusing on work.
You and Marlene are sitting at a table near the center of the library, studying quietly. You and her are in the honeymoon phase. Nobody knew that you two were in a relationship. You wanted to be more private and Marlene agreed, she was a little grouchy at first, but your wishes were the most important for her. You two were completely different, but somehow it was working well. Marlene, free-spirited, and always looking to have some fun. You, the academic weapon, the golden child. Your family’s love language was that and more studying meant more love. You loved your parents and never wanted to disappoint them, so that made you the academic weapon of Hogwarts.
Marlene was making small comments to try to distract you, but you were focused on your work and mostly ignoring her. “Come on, baby, don't you wanna take a break from studying?” she came closer to you, trying to distract you and make you focus on her.
You try to ignore her, you really try... but Marlene makes it difficult, her playful nature and seductive ways have you tempted to pay attention to her.
She teases and plays with you a bit, she comes even closer, right up until she’s sitting in your lap, distracting you to no end.
There’s no way you can focus on your work like this... all you want to do is give in to her and spend some time with her.
And she knows that.
"Come on, baby," she plays with your hair, smiling. "Don't tell me you don't want some fun with me."
"I know, but I really need to finish this.." you try to resist the temptation, but Marlene makes it difficult.
"But that can wait, can't it?" she leans in even closer, touching your arm and looking at you with her seductive eyes. "Just take a break with me?" she moves her hand up your leg.
“Come on now, just take a break from studying..." she says, her voice becoming softer and softer, more seductive. "Don't you want some fun with me instead?" she moves her hand up your body, her touch becoming more sensual.
“Marls," you say, barely able to think straight with Marlene's hand on you.
"Just take a break with me, come on...." her fingers start moving over your shirt, slowly running up and down your body.
“You know how to seduce me, Miss Mckinnon..” you grinned, closing your books and notebooks.
“Oh, is that so?" she says, her smile growing even more seductive. "Well then..." Her voice becomes more raspy and breathless as her hands move even further down your body. “Would you come with me to see the new Potions class?”
“Definitely not! We can’t ruin the class, it’s brand-new, Marlene! This time you gonna get caught and I’m not going to be a part of it.”
“It was one time, baby! We will just have fun and enjoy the new classroom before everyone else. Pretty please..”
You shake your head with a smirk, knowing all too well how Marlene's idea of "fun" could easily escalate into chaos. "No way, Marls. I'm not falling for that," you reply firmly, though a part of you is tempted by the excitement of breaking the rules with her. "Let's find a different way to have fun, something less risky."
Despite your initial reluctance, Marlene's persuasive charm wins you over once again. With a sigh and a grin, you give in to her plea. "Fine, but just a quick peek," you agree, unable to resist her infectious enthusiasm. Together, you sneak out of the library, hand in hand, and make your way to the new Potions classroom, eager to explore and enjoy a moment of mischief together.
As you and Marlene step into the new Potions classroom, you’re immediately struck by its enchanting ambiance. The room is spacious, with high ceilings supported by sturdy stone pillars. Soft candlelight flickers on the walls, casting dancing shadows that seem to come alive with magic. It was way better than the old one. You should thank your girlfriend for that for ruining it. You loved Potions and you were very talented obviously. And obviously Marlene wasn’t.
Rows of wooden workbenches stretch out before you, each one meticulously organized with brass scales, mortar and pestle sets, and an array of glass vials and jars containing ingredients. Cauldrons of various sizes simmer gently over low flames, emitting tantalizing aromas that promise potent brews and powerful enchantments.
Everything had been perfect before you got caught. When the door to the Potions classroom swung open, you felt a sudden pang of anxiety shoot through your chest. Time seems to slow down as you realize that you’ve been caught, sneaking into the classroom and make love with your girlfriend Your heart raced, and a wave of dread washed over you as you brace yourself for the consequences of your actions. You couldn’t even think of Marlene, the only thing you could think about were your parents and their voices in your head.
“Disappointment!”
“Disappointment!”
“Disappointment!”
“Disappointment!”
After a minute Mcgonagall came too. She couldn’t believe her eyes. She gave Marlene a good detention and you… you were just standing like a little puppy, waiting your life to end. Mcgonagall decided to not give you a detention, because she was thinking that Marlene was the bad influence and you were innocent. You couldn’t deny. Now you weren’t only your parents disappointment, you were Marlene’s disappointment too. You left her there with all the trouble and detention. You disappointed your girlfriend, just because your fears.
You get up, leaving Marlene all alone there with the punishment. She'll probably hate you for not sticking with her. But what could you do? You were scared of all the trouble you'd be in. You were a disappointment to everyone. How could Marlene see you as anything different?
You start to think it would have been better if you'd just stayed with her. At least then she wouldn't be mad at you. But no, you left her alone, and she probably hates you now.
You hate yourself for it.
You begin to doubt every decision you make. If you can't even stay with Marlene during the detention, what good are you for her? You doubt that she even wants to be with you anymore, it feels like you can never do anything right in her eyes.
You begin to wonder why you even agreed to date Marlene in the first place. She's probably too good for you, right? You're just a mess of a person. You're probably hurting her by being with her, and you're probably damaging her reputation as well by being her girlfriend. All day you were filled with those feelings, crying alone in your dorm room. You couldn’t leave there. You were embarrassed and angry to yourself.
When the dinner time came up, your friends forced you to come with them. When you entered the Great Hall, your eyes were searching for Marlene. She wasn’t there. You barely ate anything from looking for your girlfriend.
After you heard that Marlene was in the detention, you made your way there.
You looked around the detention room, desperately searching for Marlene. You haven't seen her since you left her there, and now that you have time to think about it, you feel even more guilty. Then you spot her in the corner of the room, in one of the chairs. She seems to be sitting alone and in silent thought, she hasn't even noticed you arrive yet. You quietly make your way over to Marlene, your heart beating quickly as you approach her. As you get close, you start to notice her crying. She hasn't heard you yet, so you try to move silently so as not to interrupt her tears…
You stand close to her, but you don't know what to do, you just feel like you should be helping her… you reach out to her, placing your hand gently on her shoulder…
She flinches at first, surprised at your touch, but then she looks up at you, her eyes redded and her face flushed from the crying. She's still crying, but she doesn't look upset at you, just hurt. She looks away, wiping away her tears and trying to stay silent.
"What are you doing here?" she whispers, still wiping her tears.
"I came to find you.. to see how you're doing." you say, you still feel kind of guilty for leaving her all alone.
"You came to check on me?" she says, her voice quivering a bit as you can tell she's a bit shocked by your kindness.
You: "Yeah.." you say, "I wanted to see how you are, especially now that.. it's just, I felt really bad. I'm so so sorry, baby. I know I just left you by yourself." you say, your guilt and shame making you feel even worse.
“It's really fine, honestly, baby.” she murmurs, still sounding a little bit upset. "I was the problem, I should have never taken you there. I just, I can’t help but think that I ruined everything, I know how important your reputation is for you."
"No, baby, it was wrong for me to just leave you like that too."
"Do you hate me now?" she asks suddenly, her voice becoming quieter and almost a whisper, although there's a hint of pain and sadness in it.
“Of course not!” you hugged her. Marlene leaned into the hug, letting out a sigh and holding you close.
“I will never do that again, baby!”
“It’s over, baby” you whispered.
Marlene pulled you close, running her hands through your hair and holding you tightly.
“I'm sorry,” Marlene whispers again, her voice more tender and sincere. You kissed her hair and made sure that she’s comfortable in your arms.
